Episode Transcript
[00:00:03] Speaker A: Welcome back to Barely DND D, your sorta Dungeons and Dragons podcast. I am Jackie, your favorite bard. And if I'm not your favorite bard, well, I guess I forgive you, Hannah then. Happy Hanukkah.
[00:00:19] Speaker B: Sorry we were having a conversation before.
[00:00:21] Speaker A: It's March. Also 11 days to my birthday. Fun fact, I'm recording this that I needed to say that I'm not a 12 year old. Anyway, let's welcome to Barbara D and.
[00:00:33] Speaker C: D. Happy New Ramadan started recently. So happy Ramadan.
Oh, and happy lunch.
[00:00:41] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:00:42] Speaker B: And more important than all of those, happy almost Jackie's birthday.
Sure.
Anywho, we're back with the Barry lady. Indeed. Also, right off the bat, I'm getting over sick being sick. And Abby's me too voice is coming.
[00:01:03] Speaker A: This is gonna be one of those stuff's going around. Last time I was sick. This time y'all are sick.
[00:01:08] Speaker B: Jackie after next time.
[00:01:09] Speaker A: Landon, light off.
[00:01:11] Speaker B: You just became this dark silhouette. Like Abby is sitting in a void. It is her very, very clearly well lit face. And then complete dark of the cosmic.
[00:01:21] Speaker A: It's like the album artwork for that Queen record where they're all four in the dark. You guys know what I'm talking about.
[00:01:32] Speaker B: All four in the dark.
[00:01:33] Speaker C: Inspired by me.
[00:01:34] Speaker A: I think that was inspired by you.
[00:01:38] Speaker B: I like. I liked Abby coming back in with.
[00:01:41] Speaker A: Landon left at that.
[00:01:43] Speaker B: Yeah, Landon said I've had enough.
[00:01:45] Speaker C: I also think I threw a Mac and cheese somewhere.
[00:01:48] Speaker B: Luna keeps walking by farting, and it's awful.
[00:01:51] Speaker A: She's crop dust and you little cat.
[00:01:54] Speaker B: Yeah, and I probably deserve it. But anywho, she's captures don't. How does that get you? I say so many funny things. So we're back to another episode of Accidental Adventure. Abby's like laughing so hard of the Accidental Adventures and Wow. I felt like I had more stuff to say than that.
All right, letter question.
[00:02:21] Speaker A: Episode 30. It's episode 130. Episode 130. Was that.
[00:02:26] Speaker B: Yeah, but I say all that stuff after.
[00:02:28] Speaker A: Oh, it is. You do.
[00:02:30] Speaker B: Let it or question.
[00:02:30] Speaker A: We've done.
[00:02:31] Speaker B: You have a question?
[00:02:32] Speaker A: I don't know.
[00:02:33] Speaker D: Yeah, I do have a letter question.
If your character worked in a white collar office, like corporate job, what department would they be in?
[00:02:46] Speaker B: Oh, I like that. I like that. Who do you guys want the DMNPC to be?
[00:02:53] Speaker A: I kind of want it to be Tello because I'm boring, but.
[00:02:58] Speaker C: I wanted to be.
I'm so sorry, I can't remember his name, but the crime lord from the the island with all the kuo toa.
[00:03:09] Speaker A: Thimne's soon to be second husband after she divorces the king.
[00:03:20] Speaker B: That does. But yes, in a white collar office job is actually pretty hilarious.
[00:03:28] Speaker A: I love that.
[00:03:29] Speaker B: Okay, I like that. All right, let's start with. Let's start with Ro.
[00:03:35] Speaker D: I could start. I don't mind starting.
[00:03:37] Speaker A: Yeah, you start.
[00:03:38] Speaker B: I'll volunteer. Yes. I feel like.
[00:03:41] Speaker D: I feel like Boz would be an hr, like always be like solving people's problems and really stressed out about it all the time.
Kind of fits him.
[00:03:51] Speaker B: That feels very buzz. Oh, my goodness. That's so. Pause.
Yeah, I like it. Boss is just the much better Toby. Okay, what about. What about Greta?
[00:04:02] Speaker D: It's a low bar.
[00:04:04] Speaker C: It would be like a salesperson, because I feel like she's very friendly and like kind of persuasive enough.
I feel like she would be a salesperson and she would have like, been there forever. Like decades and centuries and like, longer than anyone else. But she. And so she'd be like the top salesperson. But she'd like. They'd be like, hey, do you want to like, be a manager or do you want to, like, have more projects? And she'd be like, no, I'm just gonna do my. So she'd be like, has been there forever but never wants to go above, like her starting the entry level point. And she just talks to people. She like, goes on trips. Talks to people. They like her because she's weird and they buy stuff.
[00:04:48] Speaker B: I feel all of that. Except for the top salesman part. Hear me out. I feel like she'd be the really dependable mid level salesman because she'd be really good with everybody. But then anytime someone didn't like the fact that she was weird, she'd just be like.
And then they're like, greta, why didn't you make that sale? And she'd be like, well, that guy didn't like my raccoon, so then I bit him.
[00:05:10] Speaker C: But I do think she would, like, know like a shocking amount of everything.
[00:05:16] Speaker B: You know, she has all the keys for the.
[00:05:18] Speaker C: For the building.
Yeah.
[00:05:27] Speaker A: I want to say macro. Macro. Data refinement. Because I've been watching severance and that's the department that they're in.
But I don't think that would actually be what Rosen. But if you're watching Severance right now, heck yeah. Find me on Instagram. Let's talk about it, because I'm obsessed. But I would say she'd be in like marketing or pr.
Yeah, I almost said maintenance because, like, she's always trying to like, Fix things and mend things and heal things. But like, it could be like, I. I don't see her being strong. She could be, I t. I don't know, but I feel like marketing or pr, like, she would always be trying to like, work on the company's image and like, the message that they're trying to, you know, kind of show to the world. And she would probably inevitably become like the face of the company somehow, even if she's not like. Because she would just like, put her own stuff on it and she'd be like, yeah, the jingle for this commercial is one of my own songs.
[00:06:37] Speaker B: And like, you know, if the answer. If the goal of this question was not to come up with the most accurate, but the funniest I think it would be with Greta working in hr.
[00:06:49] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:06:49] Speaker B: And then Ro working as the IT person who's really good at the it, but.
[00:06:55] Speaker A: But really frustrated with everyone.
[00:06:57] Speaker B: Well, and, and also like pent up to get out of it. And every time that she visits, she's like, hey, want to talk for six hours? And the person's like, no, my computer's good.
[00:07:05] Speaker A: Definitely.
[00:07:08] Speaker B: I don't know. Boss could. Boss would function too well.
[00:07:12] Speaker A: Accounting would be hilarious for boss.
[00:07:15] Speaker B: I know, but it's functional. Well, in that vein.
[00:07:18] Speaker C: But it's.
[00:07:19] Speaker A: It would be a little dysfunctional at the beginning. He doesn't understand money.
[00:07:23] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:07:23] Speaker B: But halfway through the campaign, he becomes one of the world's. The world's 441st, 444th best financial expert halfway through the campaign. So I mean, you know, at some point, like, like boss figured out what money was and then was like, oh, let's set up like businesses and let's come up with like, contractual arrangements. So anywho, true.
[00:07:45] Speaker D: Because sometimes he is very smart now.
[00:07:46] Speaker B: To let the land and shine through, but.
Oh, what was that, Abby?
Okay, Thimnen, okay for answering. Just straight laced. Obviously manager. Okay. Haha. Yeah, that's very good. But funny version of all of this. I love Thimnin as a temp.
And to be clear, not young thim, but current thimnin. And not in a suit, in his armor with all the weapons. And so somebody in the office is just like, yo, temp, get me a coffee. And he comes up to the desk and he's like, and what would you like in that drink?
Do you want it to be enjoyable even if it was your last?
Everyone's just like, get out of here, temp.
Yeah. I don't know.
[00:08:46] Speaker A: Something it reminds me of. What's the guy's name in the office. That's, like, really weird. And he's kind of an older Ryan. Oh, no. Oh.
[00:08:53] Speaker B: Freed, I feel like reminds you of Cree.
[00:08:58] Speaker A: I feel like he could be a little bit like Creed if he gets a little older because he's kind of weird and people are scared of him and he might be a murderer.
[00:09:08] Speaker B: I'm sorry. All the time here, people make a thing and then we're all like, yes, Queen go off girl. What? Feminine and creed in what way? How?
[00:09:17] Speaker A: How?
I don't know. Thinman's like a cuter Creed.
[00:09:24] Speaker B: Parties at the physical.
I'm not talking about the facial structure girl. I'm talking about the guy who's like, I got beans in my desk.
[00:09:33] Speaker A: Okay, maybe Nifty is Creed it. Maybe I was wrong. Okay, I'll admit. You know what? I was wrong. I'll admit when I'm wrong.
[00:09:41] Speaker B: Well, now I feel like I came down too harsh.
[00:09:42] Speaker A: Not very often, but I will.
[00:09:45] Speaker B: Okay. Wow.
So for the note taking, this is episode. I don't know. This is episode 130 of the Accidental Adventures.
Episode 130, the High Court.
[00:10:04] Speaker C: Ooh, I'm so excited.
[00:10:07] Speaker B: Goofy and really low key. But this is one of the most important sessions of Yalls campaign thus far. Terrifying.
No, no, don't worry about it.
[00:10:18] Speaker A: Also, we're at level 12.55.
[00:10:22] Speaker C: Wow. We're going fast.
[00:10:24] Speaker D: Yeah. How do you spell stealing dude, when you're doing.
[00:10:28] Speaker B: Huh?
[00:10:28] Speaker D: How do you spell sealy?
[00:10:30] Speaker A: S, E, A, L, Y. Is that right?
[00:10:33] Speaker B: S E, E, L, I, E.
There.
[00:10:36] Speaker D: Was a lot of funky stuff going on.
[00:10:39] Speaker B: Yeah. Also, I didn't. That one's not on me. That one's not on me. That's just Canon 5E. How I use ball sealy.
But yes, episode 130, the High Court.
It's a level 12 adventure. 3488 PBE. No one's exactly sure what day it.
[00:10:55] Speaker A: Is, but I thought we asked someone.
[00:10:58] Speaker D: Alondra told us what day it was.
[00:10:59] Speaker A: Yeah, boss like message.
[00:11:01] Speaker B: Great.
[00:11:02] Speaker D: She was also talking very quickly. No, no, no, no. Not Alondra. The lady from the opales at Tome.
[00:11:08] Speaker B: Well, then this is going to be a moment of Big Mike canonizing. If anyone can look at their notes and tell me what day it is, then it's correct. And if not, then there's a sudden temporal shift because of the realms and it's wrong.
[00:11:20] Speaker A: Let's just go with that because I'm not going to look for it in my notes.
I can't find it in my Notes.
[00:11:29] Speaker B: Abby. I like the. I like the. The gradual shift you've taken through time where at the beginning of the campaign, you'd be like, oh. Zach breathed. And you're taking a note now you're just sitting here, like, just being like, seal gifts.
We grow.
[00:11:41] Speaker C: I went to the aquarium, and I now know that those seals are called harbor seals. And I have a stuffed harbor seal in my bed, and I didn't know what kind of seal it was for years. And then we went to the aquarium, and Noah was like, that's boy. And I was like, oh, it's boy. And then we found out that my seal is a harbor seal.
[00:12:02] Speaker B: That's really fun and cool also. Abby, you can be honest with us. Did you. Did you lose your voice because you drank some of the water? There's no judgment.
[00:12:13] Speaker A: Oh, my God.
[00:12:14] Speaker C: I was so excited to see the pigeons. I was.
[00:12:18] Speaker B: You guys. You guys got to the ray touching tank, and Abby was just like.
[00:12:26] Speaker C: They had a tide pod tank. No, not a tide pod.
[00:12:30] Speaker B: And you're just. Like you said, we could touch them.
[00:12:34] Speaker C: In a tide pool thing. It was just short enough for me to reach over and scoop and go.
And that was really good. I got just a little bit of starfish.
That's not vegan, so it's starfish water.
[00:12:52] Speaker A: Starfish water.
[00:12:53] Speaker C: It's like you try to drink their tea.
[00:12:55] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:12:58] Speaker B: Somebody wrote down that. Abby said that.
So I should focus in and DM now.
[00:13:07] Speaker A: Nah.
[00:13:08] Speaker B: Can y'all.
[00:13:10] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:13:12] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:13:12] Speaker B: Is this the one I want?
No, actually, it might not be.
I think I'm gonna go with a different one.
[00:13:23] Speaker A: How dare you.
[00:13:26] Speaker B: Okay. And remember, you can adjust the music volume on the left so you have just long, meandering, drawn out ruckus, tempestuous, fluctuating venture. That has been the travel through the Feywilds that has very suddenly precipitated into a completely different tone and focus in completing kurftanantalami Love Patrinded the bewildering keep. You were greeted in the treasure chambers. Well, greed is a strong word by the mad Prince.
All of you seeing him for the first time, an individual whom Boz has long known, but the rest of you all came into physical contact with for the first time.
And his sudden arrival came with a credence, a biddence, to have you travel with him to the Feywilds, to the Seelie Corps, to speak with the assembled Archfey, from whose being and identity the characteristic and heart of the Feywilds flows.
And the offer was that each of these Archfey would off would provide you with a wish, each one for whomever of you accepted the task they would lay before you not yet exactly described some sort of a plan for the protection of the Feywilds.
A wish to be granted the incredible power and right to read from the book of Secrets the reason for for which you came to curved ontalon y did at all the hopeful vestige of the secret to saving Boz's home and apparently tome taken from Ioun's library with some of the most fundamental questions about existence bound within its its.
Well, who even knows if it's leather?
You all agreed. And the five of you, along with the magical talking axe that Craig has now, which I'm probably, if we're all being honest with ourselves, the bit's gonna get forgotten and then I won't remember him for 50 episodes. But that's probably for the better.
You all have walked through the gate to the brilliant purple light. And as each of you all are washed over by intense, challenging to describe physical sensations of temperature and force and energy, you one by one stride out into the cloistered pressing interior of the bewildering keep is replaced by expansion by open space.
And the air that greets you is certainly fresh.
Certainly the word that just came to my mind was not English, but Portuguese.
Certainly fresh outside air. But it's more.
It's kind of like the air in Ogba, but with Ogba it was this fresher than fresh, this alive and life giving here it's like it's.
It's like the air is Boz. You have experienced this before. It's like it's a little sweet.
It's like the air gives you the faintest little contact high, like walking through it stupors you a bit and sharpens you a bit all at the same time, just a little bit beyond where your brain usually is. As if even just inhaling you you pushes you past a line in a couple different directions.
The light all around you is bright.
Bright sunlight cascades down from a perfectly topaz firmament. And at the edge of the horizon are bowls of wispy white clouds. But so far away they're just coloring.
And you all stand.
Oh, there's so much to describe.
You all walk out onto a platform.
That's the first thing I should say. You are in the air.
You are all of you standing on a bridge of sorts.
But not a bridge made of one continuous length, but of multiple briefly connected steps perfectly meeting each other. They're all 10ft wide, a couple feet across. And they are steps, like in a stairwell. Very broad, very large. There is no rail on either side. And this walkway beneath you, this tiered, level, raised staircase, so to speak, with no bottom, is pure Pearl.
So, like 10x2 sheets of pearl.
You're not exactly sure how far they go down in thickness, but they are dazzling and brilliant. And the way that they catch and reflect, like the light makes it look like every single time you look at your feet, you're looking at frozen oil. And importantly, they trail up in front of you in a path. But as your eyes look behind you, as they take in an overwhelming amount of detail, there is none behind you. And we'll come back to that as if you are standing on the first step leading up a path that is missing a great deal many steps behind it.
This path leads for 150ft or so up toward a much larger platform, also elevated and levitating. I'll come back to that in a moment. This walkway, connected to a platform upon which you stand, is suspended in the air.
If one of you would like to give me.
It's not high D.C. in either case, a survival or sciences check.
You may do so to try and reason how high up you are.
[00:20:31] Speaker D: I'll do a survival check.
[00:20:33] Speaker C: I'll do a.
I just wrote that. I would like to do a scientist check.
[00:20:38] Speaker A: I wrote 20.
[00:20:42] Speaker B: That is a way to start the session. Jackie.
[00:20:45] Speaker D: I rolled a 20 as well.
[00:20:47] Speaker C: Seriously?
[00:20:48] Speaker A: Did you?
[00:20:48] Speaker B: Actually, I did. The first one was. You for real?
[00:20:52] Speaker D: I did. I'm not even joking.
[00:20:53] Speaker B: That's.
[00:20:54] Speaker A: I was gonna do sciences, so that's in 25.
[00:20:58] Speaker D: I rolled a 30.
[00:21:00] Speaker B: Holy crap.
[00:21:01] Speaker A: Wait, did you do survival or sciences?
[00:21:04] Speaker D: Survival.
[00:21:06] Speaker A: Dang, Landon, I'm guessing you're proficient.
[00:21:10] Speaker D: I have expertise.
[00:21:12] Speaker B: Ah, Greta, what'd you get?
[00:21:15] Speaker C: I got a 25.
[00:21:17] Speaker D: No, I just have.
[00:21:19] Speaker B: Y'all are using this mojo up early on the unimportant stuff. I like it.
You'd was D.C. like, 12. So all of you. You know, honestly, at this point in your life and careers, makes sense that you'd be getting pretty good at judging this stuff, given how many times you've fallen out of the air.
You're about. You're somewhere between 650 and 700ft in the air.
[00:21:48] Speaker A: Wow.
What did you say? Could we see what's below us? Is it like, ground?
[00:21:54] Speaker B: I have so much to describe. Trust me, you shall have your answers. Okay, Just take them horses and hold them. But your defense I can. The. The inclination for asking is valid. So you're about 650, 700ft in the air. And I say that not be. Well, actually, one of you got a 30. You're 650ft in the air. As hard as that is to visually judge, Boz, you just know it. Maybe it's 657, maybe it's 655, but you're 650 up there.
And it is not 650ft to the ground. It is 600ft. 650ft to the intensely sloping side of the mountain, the mountain slope below you. Quick question. Can you guys hear a hair dryer in the background?
[00:22:43] Speaker C: Just a little bit.
[00:22:44] Speaker B: Just a tiny bit. Excellent. I'll just talk continuously so that it's not such a biggie. Bigger.
So you all stand on the raised platform and where the. Where the mountain slope trails away below. So it's sort of like slant mountain there and then like platform way up here and right up there. And you guys are just so. If you fell down, you fell down, you'd fall down to a violently sloping mountain face that itself goes down and down and down and down. So when you look back down, it's like 650. When you look forward down somewhere off in the far distance, it's like you're half a mile up.
That mountain range that rises up behind you is not up the length of some indiscernible mountain.
It is.
Landon, in Breath of the Wild, the village you go to, often one of the first villages people go to, but the village you go to that has. Where you first meet the mean ninjas, that has a temple like right inside the raised area and the great fairy fountain by the village. Which village is that? Is that. Is that Kakariko village or.
[00:23:58] Speaker D: Don't know.
[00:23:59] Speaker B: Okay, that was a lot of pressure to put on you. If you've played Breath of the Wild, the mountains in the starting part of the game are a great deal what this resembles in some way. There's a lot more detail, a lot more realism. But the mountain is a slight silvery, almost kind of bluish gray stone. Very smooth, uncommonly smooth for a mountain. And it is verdant. It is awash with brilliant, vibrant emerald green plants. It rises up from so many different directions in this pinnacle shape, and it sprawls out and bleeds over the landscape and other ridges and arms and tentacles of its rising mass. And you all are so high up that you are above its peak. And when you look back, you look back at this great stone bowl, this great half mile stone impression on the top of the mountain, and it is not filled with.
Well, growing out of it is a tree, but not a tree rooted in its center, a tree suspended above the caldera below. It's like a massive quarter mile high mangrove tree, another prime tree like Ogba, as if there was a second prime tree.
And this primordial source of flora grows suspended above this caldera bone, this caldera bowl. And you, you are maybe a thousand feet away from the edge of this, so it's nowhere near you, but you can look back and see it because it stands up in the sky and away from it is this, this web of roots. Some of them fall down to the fresh clear water like below. Some of them string outward to the sides of the mountain and grip into it. And you can see now as you look away from it, it's growing into the mountain face. And far below, where many vastly tall trees grow out of the side of the mountain. You realize they are extensions and protrusions and interconnections of the roots.
It's as if this tree grew out of the top of the mountain and then the core of the mountain degraded below it and the roots remained, suspending it.
Fresh water dazzles and shines around it and the landscape all around you is an ocean of forest as far rainforest as far as your eye can see in any direction itself that bleeds into so many massive lakes that go so far into the distance in between that you can't tell if it's a rainforest that drops off into suspended ocean or a rainforest that extends far beyond your eye can see and that is just filled with massive lakes between. The landscape is immense and brilliant and bright.
You have before you a couple hundred of these pearlescent steps. You don't know where you are in the feywilds, but it is difficult to describe it. All the steps that lead up lead up to a platform the exact detail of which you can't make up make out because it leads up enough that the level base of the, of this, this much greater floating space where you would gather is slightly above your eye line at this height. But from below you can see that it is solid pearl maybe, I don't know, 6, 800 tons of pearl floating as the structural base of this landmass, floating in the sky. It dazzles like a star suspended and held in the air before you.
It's probably a structure 80, 100ft in any measure, you know, lengthwise width wise, and this appears to be the place to which you are leading to walk and around it are floating maybe 5 to 10ft away from it in either direction in a sort of C shape, like to the sides and to the front. Again, a little detail that you can't quite make up from this distance and from this lower height, what look like six thrones, six empty thrones floating around this deus arena like space.
You all stand there in the air, and Yeluktan is briefly there on the. On the walkway with you. He turns around and gives you all a very sudden, intense look with those electric green eyes that's difficult to read at all.
Just stares at you all a moment. And then he begins walking up the walkway and toward the platforms. But at some point, he veers off a little bit and just steps off of the edge of the walkway and continues to walk up through the air toward one of the thrones on the left.
[00:29:17] Speaker C: Yes, I follow him, but I stay on the path.
[00:29:21] Speaker D: Yeah, me too. I stay on the path as well.
[00:29:23] Speaker B: Okay, so no conversation. The party just wordlessly continues forward.
[00:29:27] Speaker C: Yeah, just like shocked silence.
[00:29:36] Speaker B: The party walks up this walkway toward the central platform. And as you get closer, you realize that it has this sort of. It's this. This central raised area toward you are walking is almost square, but it's a little diamond because its corners are missing. And where so much of this space is rough and natural and looks just kind of grown.
This platform at the top is highly geometric.
It has these carved angles that cut in and out, in and out at kind of 30 degree increments at its edges that cut away to give it this sort of like diamond, like a fitted gemstone head to the top of the platform you walk up to, which is itself solid pearl, just.
Just a sheet of pearl. Except that it's not a sheet of pearl laid on, it's the entire land mass.
And there are intense geometric cuttings in like. Like a tile pattern, but a really tessellated, complicated tile pattern. In the center of it is this sort of.
Well, not sort of this exactly. 1, 2, 3, 4.
Octagonally shaped cut pool of clear water in the center, maybe 20ft across. Another dimension. The main structure you stand on is probably 100ft across, both length, width, and wise. And you can see now in front of you there are two thrones. Two thrones directly in front, two at either side, two kind of at the angle in between. So three over here, three over there, six floating and not bobbing, just perfectly suspended thrones. These thrones are each different.
They have stone bases, but the stonework that comes up out of them to make the actual seat is on the left. On the left. Most the one nearest to you at your left, it's like this dazzling shifting hues of labradorite.
At the one directly next to this, it's this shocking blue bright lapis lazuli.
And each one of them is different. Like this. At the one all the way on the far way to the right, it just looks like brilliant like diamond.
The. The opulence is unfathomable.
Each of these thrones is probably a quarter of the net worth of a small nation. And they just float here suspended. And Yelecton walks through the air up toward the lab, the Lab labradorite throne and just sits down in it. He is. Oh, and also each of the thrones is very big. Each of the thrones is like 10ft deep and 10ft wide and has like a 5 foot high backing.
They are to the size of giants essentially. And when Yelik Tenant sits down in it, as he walks up to the platform, as he walks up the stair, the little treadway up to the throne, he's not big enough for the throne. But when he turns around and sits down, as he sits down in it, he grows rose to match its size until he's about 15, 16ft tall. When he sits down and he just reclines back, crosses his hands, temples them and he looks away from you all kind of far off into the distance and just ponders for a moment.
Also, as you all walk up the platform, all of the steps behind you fall away. Whenever the last person steps off of one, it just drifts down slowly.
What'd that party do?
[00:33:34] Speaker C: I would say I go and stand like in the middle of all the thrones.
Not just like.
I'm sure it's intuitive like where a visitor would stand to like be in front of all the stones. And I would kind of go with the party there if that's where the party goes.
[00:33:55] Speaker A: Yeah, I think I would go there. Like just where like in front of them where it seems appropriate.
[00:34:02] Speaker C: Yes. I'm probably just watching Yog to Noth but if he like ever looks in my direction, I'm like, like looking at him.
[00:34:14] Speaker D: I ask Yeluk to not on the way down I say anything we should know about what's like respectful or customary before we meet these people?
[00:34:26] Speaker B: Boss, was this a question you were asking on the way walking up or once you all have gathered in the central in the court and he's seated on the throne.
[00:34:36] Speaker D: Sorry, as we're walking down Boswell to ask that.
[00:34:38] Speaker B: I'm so sorry.
[00:34:38] Speaker D: Z. Zachary.
[00:34:39] Speaker B: Okay, so. No, it's, that's okay. That's not the sort of thing I'm going to get miffed about. I try not to get miffed at all. On. As. On the way up, as you're walking up there, he.
He pauses in the air and looks back over his shoulder at some point and just says, each member of the court is their own.
We are not a governmental body in any sense other than the governance of this realm is our hearts.
We are not bound by law, by decision.
We are not related by formal title, but by relationship.
If you wish to have your cause heard, you will need to sway us unanimously. And each of us are unique individuals.
This is up to you.
I have called you here.
I want this outcome.
I will lobby for you.
But ultimately, you must prove yourselves.
He just walks away. He looks away and walks toward his throne. And then he sits down and all that. Right.
Once you guys arrive. Also, the very center of this court is that watery pool.
But he.
So you can't stand in the exact center, but you could either stand, like, kind of before the pool or in front of it on the other side and be in the middle of the thrones. I'm just going to go and tell you guys, there's not a wrong choice. You're not going to stand on one side of the pool and then have the character show up. And I'm like, h, you got it wrong. You all die. That would be really stupid.
[00:36:25] Speaker D: I'm going to stand in front of it, closer to them if I can.
[00:36:32] Speaker A: Yeah, I'll do that.
[00:36:34] Speaker C: I guess they follow.
[00:36:36] Speaker B: Okay, so the part as we're walking.
[00:36:39] Speaker D: I kind of, like, look at each of my people and I say, hey, do you mind if I start the kind of, like, discussion or.
[00:36:46] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:36:48] Speaker C: I nod.
[00:36:51] Speaker D: Okay, You've been here before.
[00:36:53] Speaker A: We haven't.
[00:36:54] Speaker D: Here doesn't speak Sylvan. Because boss would know who doesn't speak Sylvan.
[00:36:58] Speaker C: Okay, I do speak Sylvan.
[00:37:01] Speaker D: I would give her.
[00:37:01] Speaker B: I would give her party sans Greta.
So actually, half your party.
[00:37:07] Speaker A: Yeah, just me and Craig are the only ones that can't speak Sylvan.
[00:37:12] Speaker D: All right, guys, I'm gonna speak to them in sylvan.
[00:37:19] Speaker C: Oh, I'm gonna say. I'm gonna say boz. Do you think we'd get in trouble for casting punks?
[00:37:29] Speaker D: No, I don't. I don't think so. If you want to, just do it really quickly.
[00:37:32] Speaker C: Yeah, I cast.
[00:37:33] Speaker D: I don't know. I've never been here before, though, so know that I have no idea what this place is or who these people are.
[00:37:37] Speaker B: So.
[00:37:37] Speaker D: So you might get in trouble. I don't know. But it seems not.
[00:37:41] Speaker C: I cast tongues on Roe.
It probably correct, too.
[00:37:48] Speaker B: Okay, go ahead and expend those spell slots.
And what does it look like in your casting?
[00:37:56] Speaker C: She's not trying to make a big deal out of it, so I'll just say that just out of, like, habit from casting the spell, even though she's not casting it on herself. Herself. Like, tattoo on her face lights up and, like, a little bit of, like, letters flow out. Out of her mouth. Into red. No, into Rowan Craig's mouth.
That's cool.
[00:38:20] Speaker B: As the spell. The spell spreading over your minds, but as it touches your tongues, you all feel like, in the most inexplicable way, you can taste a little bit of Cross Retta's perspective. Like, for a moment, you see the world. Like, you start picking up on a couple things you don't recognize all of a sudden before it kind of settles down and you feel like you have your own mind again.
[00:38:42] Speaker A: Interesting.
[00:38:43] Speaker B: And as you become aware of that energy, you all are just kind of left waiting there a moment in one of the six thrones. The other five are empty.
[00:38:55] Speaker D: I have a quick question, Zachary.
[00:38:57] Speaker B: I have a quick answer. Landon.
[00:38:59] Speaker D: I was in the Feywild for a long time. Like, a month, basically. Would I.
I highly doubt that I would have gotten the, you know, Sealy Court 101 class, but I feel like, is there a chance I would have picked up some information, at least about the. Maybe the person on the court that, like, oversaw that part of the land or something that I would have. Boss would have known, like, being there in the Feywild for so long, you were.
[00:39:25] Speaker B: You were there for, like.
Like a week.
[00:39:30] Speaker D: Are you sure?
[00:39:31] Speaker B: I thought it was longer.
[00:39:32] Speaker D: I thought it was a month.
[00:39:35] Speaker B: But.
[00:39:35] Speaker D: I, I, I will defer to you.
[00:39:37] Speaker B: I remember that. I remember the key detail was that when you got back, everyone was like, you were gone a month, and then you were like, no, dude, I was gone way less time. And.
[00:39:44] Speaker D: Oh, you're right. You're right. It was a month. The material place.
[00:39:48] Speaker B: It was a long time, though. Um, and there's a part of me that wants to say no, because you were just lost in the wild, except that you totally went and integrated yourself into a political position in a pixie kingdom. So if there's any justification for having learned something, it's that, why don't you, in a hearsay why way, why don't you give me a rumors check and.
[00:40:12] Speaker D: We'Ll see if you could can you with forgiveness And Grace, tell me the modifier that goes with rumors I will gladly take.
[00:40:21] Speaker C: It's charisma.
[00:40:22] Speaker B: Charisma, yes. Oh, my goodness. Look at y'all.
[00:40:26] Speaker D: Right.
[00:40:28] Speaker B: And do be Charisma.
[00:40:30] Speaker D: I rolled a 17.
[00:40:33] Speaker B: Okay, that's pretty good. Nice.
You guys are rolling hot today.
Let's see if it endures. So I have a.
[00:40:44] Speaker A: Sorry, I.
I just. I wanted to.
In episode 74.
[00:40:55] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:40:58] Speaker A: When. When we met that Fae lady, Yeletnam's lover, Lady Greta, did a big history check thing. And so did Row. And Row knew some of the members of the Unseelie Court somehow, and Greta knew some of the members of the Sealy Court.
[00:41:26] Speaker B: That did happen. No one.
[00:41:28] Speaker A: I didn't know if that was time.
[00:41:29] Speaker B: To communicate that with any of each other, but.
[00:41:32] Speaker A: No, I know. I just.
[00:41:33] Speaker B: Characters do know that. Yeah, that is true.
[00:41:35] Speaker A: I just didn't know if that was helpful to either one of those characters for what's about to come. That's all I wanted to throw out there. I'm sorry for certainly disrupting the flow of your thoughts, Landon.
[00:41:48] Speaker B: That's okay. It certainly could be advantageous in some way. And were it connected to any. Were it communicated to any other members of the party, who knows? It could have some sort of an advantage. Okay, boss, Back to your 17. On the rumor check, I will say that you learned remarkably little.
And perhaps that was telling.
Which is to say that perhaps the court came up briefly and upon further inquiry, you learned that Yelikton's famously cagey, vague description is actually pretty telling here. That the truth is that the Feywilds do not. Perhaps that place you landed with the Pixies is the most formally governed place in the world here.
That the Feywilds are not a place of. That there are individual cultures who might be prone to levels of organized governance. Perhaps there is an Eladrin Elven kingdom over here that has lords and ladies and Huhi and Hoha. And perhaps there's a Pixie Kingdom over here with judges and courts and ambassadors. But that the actual rulers of this realm aren't legal rulers. They are not kings. They are not. That the title, the Mad Prince is no stately title at all.
That the Fae lords and ladies of this realm. That the lord and lady is tongue in cheek. And not necessarily in an insulting way, just in the case that they do not rule this realm from a place of taxation or military superior.
They rule this place in a way that who they are shapes this place.
And perhaps this place shapes who they are.
They are like tiny little lowercase G gods here.
And that. That is a much better sense of who they are and how they relate to this place.
Okay.
[00:44:13] Speaker D: So we. I keep walking. I don't have any more questions.
[00:44:18] Speaker B: The party should set a standstill. Clearly, punctuality is not a tenant of the court because Yelik to nant is just reclined waiting there. If this is a time the group wants any role player preparation, they can have it. But you all can also just tell me. We've been pretty clear here, Zach.
We're just waiting and then that's fine. You can be just waiting.
[00:44:39] Speaker C: I feel like. Go ahead.
[00:44:42] Speaker D: No, I was gonna say I envisioned Greta not casting tongues until it was clear that we were about to speak, but I was gonna let us speak too.
[00:44:49] Speaker B: At this level, when you guys. When there's like a common sense question, I just assume you do the common sense thing because.
[00:44:56] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:44:57] Speaker B: Unless it's funny and innocuous, I try not to. You guys do dumb things.
[00:45:02] Speaker C: Okay, Gret, Greta would probably take this time to like. In case we hadn't already talked about Greta and Rose experience with the Fae people that we met, Greta would share.
[00:45:19] Speaker B: That this campaign has a lot of nonsense in it, but the FA wild has norden disproportionate amount of nonsense. So every time you guys want a refresher on all this nonsense, please let me know because it's ridiculous. The mad prince's name is Yelik Tananth.
The Fae lady you met was Keed Sia Yigi.
[00:45:43] Speaker C: Oh, yeah.
[00:45:44] Speaker B: Like me to spell those names?
Because they're ridiculous.
Was that. Was that bared teeth expression? A smile? Okay, Yelik Tenant is Y E L L I C K apostrophe T N N A N T H. Because the Feywild is ridiculous.
Sorry, I'm just trying to minimize the. The amount of time that hair blower is on recording. So then K's name.
Man, it would really suck if my voice went out this early in the session. Is K E E D H S E A apostrophe Y E H G E E.
Zach, would you like to.
[00:46:42] Speaker D: Take a small break and make some tea for yourself or something warm? That would help.
[00:46:45] Speaker B: Yeah. And if you guys wanted to role play, that would mean so much to me.
[00:46:48] Speaker D: Yeah. Yeah. I'm sorry, Abby, did you have a.
[00:46:50] Speaker C: Question or do we remember her having Ro? Do you have it in your notes if you'd see a Gigi had a specific title?
[00:47:01] Speaker D: Titles don't matter.
[00:47:03] Speaker C: No, no, but like a mad prince.
[00:47:06] Speaker B: Wanderer.
[00:47:08] Speaker C: Wanderer.
[00:47:09] Speaker D: I see what you're Saying.
[00:47:12] Speaker B: I feel.
[00:47:13] Speaker D: Like Boz is feeling pretty nervous right now, and he's definitely trying to, like, do some calming breathing.
Like taking very subtle deep breaths. Not as much as, like. Like, visually anxious. Like, if someone were looking at him, I don't think they'd be able to tell unless they really knew him or could I feel like he's holding it together well, but he's just, you know the nerves, like when you're about to perform on stage. Yeah, yeah. Like, it's that he's just taking deep.
[00:47:39] Speaker C: Breaths, but his nervousness and excitement is, like, directly opposed to the calming. And so she's, like, yapping at Boz, telling him everything that she remembers about meeting Kitsiegigi. And I'm sure that they've had this conversation before, but she is just like. So remember what I told you, Baz? I told you that she. And she's just like. She's just yapping.
[00:47:59] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:48:00] Speaker C: While Baz is trying to take calming breath.
[00:48:03] Speaker A: Yeah, I got it.
[00:48:05] Speaker D: Also, Baz is not dressed in his fancy clothes. He's dressed like a druid in his leather armor. Just to make that happen.
[00:48:16] Speaker A: What I have written, I'm. I have Kitsiegi of the Sealy Court here.
And then I have listed so six individual rulers of Faye. Now, this isn't like Ro just like, naming off these, but just as a refresher, I feel like maybe we probably talked about this at some point or whatever.
[00:48:38] Speaker C: But what was. Jackie, I'm sorry to interrupt.
[00:48:41] Speaker B: What was.
[00:48:41] Speaker C: It was 79, right. Episode 70.
[00:48:45] Speaker A: 74. I'm sorry, I was wrong. It's episode 74.
I have the curious wonder, the terribly beautiful, the insatiable wonder, lady of fascination, obsession and add adoration, I think is what that says. I can't read my own writing.
Not divine magic of nature's demigod powers. It's basically what Zach told us all.
[00:49:15] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:49:16] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:49:16] Speaker A: Like, Tanam is one of the six members, obviously.
[00:49:26] Speaker D: Boss brings out his little dragon familiar and.
[00:49:28] Speaker B: Yeah, like, to tello.
[00:49:31] Speaker D: And what, he lets him kind of, like rest on him and he kind of helps him feel calm. Kind of like a therapy dog.
[00:49:40] Speaker A: Oh, I know. So. Okay, sorry. Just so that. Just for my own understanding, I realized what my notes are saying is all I know. All Ro knows, sorry, about the Sealy Court is those names. But she knows more, for some reason, about the Unseelie Court. Yeah, she knows, like, the. The stuff about them, but she only knows, like, those names for the. For the Seelie Court.
[00:50:10] Speaker B: If it would serve the advantage of your allies at all. Do you guys share the things you learned about either Court and other individuals.
[00:50:15] Speaker A: With each other in this time?
[00:50:17] Speaker B: You have to wait.
[00:50:17] Speaker D: Yeah, I share everything that I know.
I don't know much, but I share everything with my friends.
[00:50:23] Speaker A: Same, same, same, same.
Sorry, I just have in my.
[00:50:30] Speaker B: What I mean to say is that they are going to arrive and you will need to speak to them. Are you guys literally sharing that with each other presently or.
[00:50:38] Speaker C: We're sharing what with each other?
[00:50:39] Speaker D: I don't.
[00:50:39] Speaker B: I.
[00:50:40] Speaker D: We. I don't talk about the Unseely Court at all here. Like, I.
[00:50:43] Speaker A: No, I don't talk about the Unseely Court.
[00:50:45] Speaker B: Yeah, right.
[00:50:47] Speaker D: Like saying you have an audience with Batman and you take the time to bring up the Joker.
[00:50:51] Speaker A: Yeah, what.
[00:50:52] Speaker B: What I mean to say is, I don't know. You guys love players above table. Tell each other any of the important things you may have learned now from your notes.
[00:51:01] Speaker D: Yes, that's what we're doing. Yes.
[00:51:02] Speaker B: I'm just hinting at you guys doing that. Okay.
[00:51:05] Speaker D: That's what we're doing. Is there.
[00:51:06] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:51:07] Speaker D: Do we need. Do you want us to, like, role play it out for it to happen.
[00:51:09] Speaker A: Or do you know what you're asking. Asking us of? He's giving us a thumbs up.
[00:51:14] Speaker D: He's still making tea. That's okay. I understand. I smell what you're sniffing in, Stephanie.
[00:51:19] Speaker B: Well, no, and also, what I. What I very literally mean is Jackie and Abby may have learned things written down on paper in their notes other than just names, possibly a long time ago. That would be very useful right now. Now, if they haven't, that's fine, but just. If they want to tell Landon and each other those things again, that could be useful before people arrive, but.
[00:51:39] Speaker D: Okay, let me see if I can just.
[00:51:41] Speaker B: If that's a useful strategy at all, is all I mean to say.
[00:51:47] Speaker A: I don't know which one of these is Seelie Court and which one was Unseelie, so.
[00:51:53] Speaker C: Wait, what are you looking at?
So Jerrel and Matep are Unseelie. Kitsiyagigi Yeluktanov and Thuras are Seelie. But those are the only Seelie Courts that I have written down.
[00:52:05] Speaker A: I have Thuras, too.
[00:52:06] Speaker C: Okay. Okay.
[00:52:07] Speaker A: The Rolling Thunder, the Beating Heart, Grasping Hand, the Roaring Wind, Fay, lady of Night, Resistance, Will and Passion is what I wrote.
[00:52:17] Speaker C: I have. I have might. M for might.
[00:52:20] Speaker A: Oh, maybe it is might. My handwriting is crap.
[00:52:24] Speaker D: I'm trying to read Abby's handwriting on the paper.
[00:52:27] Speaker C: Oh, I'm sorry. That's all I got.
[00:52:29] Speaker D: For you it's. How do you say it? What's the name? K. He.
[00:52:34] Speaker A: He's the lady.
[00:52:36] Speaker C: The lady. She's.
[00:52:38] Speaker D: She's considered like terribly beautiful.
[00:52:43] Speaker C: She acts as a binding center. She's the glue for all of the other ones. So if y on her side and if y'all tonoth is already on our side and they're lovers, we can assume that they have a strong relationship. And if she's the binding heart of everything and we have her through y'all to noth, we might have a good chance.
[00:52:59] Speaker A: Oh, I have written that she's the heart and yelleth to not is the mind.
[00:53:06] Speaker C: Oh, is what I have.
We might need to do some heart convincing.
[00:53:13] Speaker D: I see here that Thoras is called the beating heart. Is what you have written down, Abby.
[00:53:19] Speaker C: I do see that, but I also called the beating heart is the power of the heart.
[00:53:24] Speaker A: But he's not.
[00:53:26] Speaker C: All right, well, he's not the power.
[00:53:29] Speaker B: I had you guys do this because it would be useful. But now I'm glad I had you guys do this because I think it's now very funny.
[00:53:37] Speaker A: I. I also have written here these Fae really like to ask who are you? Quotes Eye roll.
[00:53:44] Speaker C: That's hilarious.
[00:53:45] Speaker D: I wonder. I was wondering if that was just yellick to nonce.
[00:53:48] Speaker A: No. Keith kept asking me and Greta who we were too.
[00:53:54] Speaker D: What if I. What if I open it up asking who they are? Who are you?
[00:53:58] Speaker A: Who are you?
[00:53:59] Speaker D: Power move.
[00:53:59] Speaker A: Take it before they tables.
[00:54:03] Speaker D: Kits. Yagi yell and Thoras. Is that how you say their name? Zachary?
[00:54:07] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:54:08] Speaker A: Are we saying that right?
[00:54:09] Speaker D: It's Yagi?
[00:54:10] Speaker B: No, but I wasn't going to be a stickler about that. Thank you for letting me drink the tea. It's helping Yelik tan. His is all about enunciation, which is totally fair. It's all nonsense and then.
[00:54:31] Speaker A: At all. What I thought is that our role.
[00:54:34] Speaker C: Is there a role to r?
[00:54:36] Speaker B: If you want to go hard, yes. But I'm not gonna ask that of you. It should be like. And even kind of the shortest roll ever.
[00:54:44] Speaker D: Pluto. Yeah, like one feminine, right? That's a lady.
[00:54:47] Speaker B: That's a lady. Yes. It does seem like she is a lady of the court.
[00:54:51] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:54:52] Speaker C: It seems like she is a lady.
[00:54:54] Speaker A: She is a lady of the court.
[00:54:56] Speaker C: I have this notice.
They exist as embodiments of character characteristics of Fae being. And in doing that, they and in doing that perpetuate the Fae the last hand. Maybe not so sure with the first hand. I'm kind of sure.
[00:55:15] Speaker B: Okay. Do you guys feel like you've shared adequate information.
[00:55:19] Speaker D: I. I am not sure. I don't understand. But I think that we.
[00:55:23] Speaker B: That's okay.
[00:55:24] Speaker C: How can I. How can we help you understand?
[00:55:26] Speaker D: Zach? I. I would. Ideally I would love to role play this and understand, but I feel like I don't. I don't get what Abby and Jackie are necessarily saying or have written down. Is there any way that you can act as an interpreter in this scenario?
[00:55:42] Speaker B: Yeah, well, part of it is that it's not ambiguous. It's not not ambiguous.
But I think there's a lot of reason for Boz to make sense out of what Rowan. Greta would be telling him. Because you are literally from a Fae culture of loosely structured relational organization. So the concept of very informal government would not be alien to you. The idea being that there is something here nebulous about the way that the nature of the feywild shapes the archfey and the archfey shape the feywild. There's like a super magical connection here, right? A supernatural connection between who they are and the world of the fate wild.
[00:56:32] Speaker D: Let me get this think bug real quick. I'm so sorry. It's about to fly on me.
[00:56:35] Speaker B: One moment.
[00:56:36] Speaker D: Can y'all. Can Abby and Ro argue about.
[00:56:41] Speaker A: Okay, I have a question for Zach.
[00:56:43] Speaker C: I don't want to argue.
[00:56:44] Speaker A: I have something here is. Do I have it correct that Kitsiegi. Am I saying that right?
[00:56:54] Speaker B: Yeah. That's the hardest name ever.
[00:56:56] Speaker A: That she had a. She had a loot with her when we met her.
My crazy.
[00:57:03] Speaker B: Let me check.
[00:57:04] Speaker A: It says plant fiber loot.
That she had. It said had plant fiber loot. But maybe I'm just psycho.
[00:57:15] Speaker B: I don't have one written down. I don't think so.
[00:57:17] Speaker A: Okay.
Okay. Weird.
[00:57:22] Speaker B: I think my favorite thing about all of this has been how much it's like. Yeah, my notes have this. Oh, my notes have the opposite.
[00:57:31] Speaker D: All right, I'm back. Zach, what were you saying?
[00:57:36] Speaker B: No, it's okay. Every opportunity is giving me an opportunity to drink some tea and heal my throat.
Man, tea is magical.
[00:57:44] Speaker C: Shout out to John.
[00:57:45] Speaker B: Supernatural two way energy thing there. Second of all, this court is like a non related family. Like one big found family. If messier. They rule together. But rule is a nebulous term. And the roles here are not super formal. That's the big takeaway. Those are the two big takeaways. Okay. Yeah.
[00:58:18] Speaker D: All right. All right, guys.
[00:58:20] Speaker B: Before we.
[00:58:20] Speaker D: Before they come in, I want to say something to the group. Say, yeah, this is a great time, guys. I.
I don't know what the right thing to say or not to say here is I don't think that we are going to be able to know what the right thing to do or say here is. I think that we are just going to have to be the fun guys. We're gonna have to treat them with respect but not try to treat them like kings and queens or try like to kiss the feet. But I think we need to have a balance where we understand and follow like the nature of what it means to be in this land, but also to be direct in why we think that they should give us a wish because it's incredible spell and ability to cast.
[00:59:05] Speaker A: I mean I'm. Or go ahead, Gertrude.
[00:59:08] Speaker C: I was just gonna say I agree. I think we should be reverent and like you said, respectful. But I. My instinct is telling me that being genuine and being honest is what's gonna win us the most points here. Being honest and heartfelt and genuine, which I think that we are. But like you said, not, not sucking up and not, you know, just being ourselves while being super respectful.
[00:59:32] Speaker A: I mean I'm, I, I don't think they would have called us here if they didn't think that we had something to offer were capable and I'm.
It would be nice even if they are in the Feywild and we don't really understand their, their I guess, for lack of a better word, angle on the situation.
I feel that they would be really valuable allies to have in the fight to come. So.
[01:00:14] Speaker B: You guys can see over her shoulder. It's really Boz and Greta from their angle that they can see over Ro's shoulder. Something is growing up the Diamond Throne opposite Yellik to Nonce there's like, like Roe is like. And they would be powerful allies and she's like getting through those words and you guys can notice that there's this fine length going up the throne and.
[01:00:43] Speaker D: Dm, just to make sure I understand, let me repeat back what, what are basically the why here that Yelp Tanop told us. He told us that he came to grab us because he knows that we are wanting to read the Book of Secrets and that it's impossible to do so without specific things happening. And that he thinks that there's a chance that we could convince the Seelie Court to cast these wishes for us to read the Book of Secrets. If we can convince them that we can do this task for them. That we don't know what exactly it is yet. Right?
[01:01:18] Speaker B: Yeah. Basically the Court, I mean obviously Keatsu is an exception other than her whatever she feels about you guys. The court either doesn't care about you or doesn't know you exist. He's like, I've been watching you guys for a long time and it's kind of the reason I got interested you in the first place. This Zorgom business was a bad trouble. We knew we needed an answer. I think I have found a possibility, possible solution with you all.
If you can convince the whole court that we can trust you with this idea of mine, then for each of you who agrees to it, we will cast wish each one of us once and allow you to read from the book.
[01:02:00] Speaker C: Okay, question.
So does this mean that each party member can read from the book once? Six times?
[01:02:10] Speaker B: Once that would be in. If there was a membrane in that membrane, it would be insane. That would be the party earning 25 castings of the wish spell, which is a level of. A level of confident self reception hard to even process or fathom.
As the party talks, this growth increases up the throne and spreads around it until. Ro. At some point I think you can tell your allies aren't listening to you.
[01:02:46] Speaker A: I know, I was gonna say, do I notice?
[01:02:48] Speaker B: Well, first of all, Greta, with the now highest passive perception in the group, let that curdle your internal organs. Wait, may I ask, Greta, you notice very slightly. You can't. I won't tell you. You notice out of the, out of the corner of your eye. Yelik Tenant gets like a rye smile on his face looking at the, at the throne the opposite way. And as his stony expression is split by that moment of confidence, the vine growth spreads until it blows on the diamond massive flower. Yes, on the diamond throne very opposite him. The massive flower blooms into this complex orchid that like overgrows the throne until this huge fruiting body of overlapping petals grows out of its center and then just falls apart onto the throne. And all at once the plants disintegrate, but not like in dust as if into many gorgeous pieces that blow away with this breeze high in the sky. And there left in their place is a 14, 15 foot tall, slender, pale skinned, Asiatically featured starlight, freckled, dark black, brilliant sort of opalescent reflection, reflected hair woman.
She has a dress made out of like 10,000 scales that shift and rotate in color. And as the dress rotates, the scales literally roll over each other. And Boz who into what in the hair. Now same for Tello and Craig Rowan. Greta, that's obviously Kitsuyeki who has arrived and she's just perched in it.
And as she crosses her hands. She puts her chin on them. She looks immediately to Greta, smiles a little bit, then to Ro, looks all around at the group. There is this rapacious hunger to her sight, this enraptured fixation. It's not desperate, it's not hungry, it's calm, but intoxicated. After she looks over you, all her eyes just flit up it very quickly to yell at to non. And he and his throne sort of leans back with a broad smile and they just stare at each other silently in the eyes.
They just kind of ignore you guys immediately.
[01:05:23] Speaker D: Let's get it on.
Is it palpable?
[01:05:30] Speaker C: Is it palpable if you have an.
[01:05:32] Speaker B: Insight check above 10? Yeah.
[01:05:35] Speaker D: Hey.
[01:05:35] Speaker B: Or an inside score inside if you have. If you have a wisdom above 10. Yes. Okay.
[01:05:41] Speaker D: So Craig.
[01:05:43] Speaker B: I'm just kidding.
[01:05:46] Speaker C: Craig gets a boost for romance. Craig is there.
[01:05:50] Speaker D: No, Craig does know he has a 12.
[01:05:55] Speaker B: Armor. And he just leans over to tell her and he goes. He palpable.
[01:06:01] Speaker D: Sounds like something you'd say.
Ew.
[01:06:06] Speaker C: When she looks at Greta, Greta's not gonna bow, but do like a little head incline and smile back.
[01:06:15] Speaker B: You could swear. Her eyes very momentarily flit to something hidden under your cloaks at your neck and then back up.
Kids y and yell to mother, fully ignoring you, just staring at each other in a long and awkward silence.
Until my dad.
[01:06:41] Speaker D: Sorry, ew.
They're my parents. Legally.
[01:06:47] Speaker C: Legally, that's not true. Legally, they don't have long.
[01:06:52] Speaker B: Really. Only the very perceptive among you gather that a very small mammal just lands in the center of the throne, sort of just next to Kitsiye. So Yelik Tenanth and Kitsiyegi are the two furthest apart, opposite sides. And this little kind of like flower, flying squirrel like thing, kind of like a chinchilla ish just lands in the middle of the throne. And then it spills out in this explosion of hair out into this sort of 18 foot tall, the biggest of the three so far, individual that just reclines in their throne. And. And here you can see an individual you don't necessarily know or excuse me. This individual lands next to yel opposite.
And he is. Oh, man.
To say that this individual looks almost animated is.
Oh, Abby. Winston. Disgust.
They are.
He's just massive.
He's like almost 20ft tall. He's rotund.
The individual is covered head to toe in fur. Very, very, very thick, soft, luscious fur.
Their face is somewhere in between felid and canid. And they have these very large broad ears that stand up and the fur at the top wisps into large coils. Their fur is this very complex dappled epaulette pattern that goes back and forth between like creams and. And then a very warm cinnamon brown. And wrapping around their strong, long legs. Their limbs are all very long and powerful and thick, but they also have this. He has this big, round, fluffy belly. And when I say the fur, there are probably many unique, fascinating details to the physicality of this individual. It's all general because there's so much fur and it's just, it's not like some wild animal. It's like the most pampered house cat in the world in terms of fur.
The dude looks just freshly groomed. And this huge pine cone fluffy tail spills out from one side of his hip around his leg. And it's just on the throne. His eyes are this burning amber and there are these slits. And as he just lands and reclines into the throne, the warmest smile spreads across his face. He just slides backward and completely ignores Kitsie, Igi and Yelik. Jonathan just looks at all of you all and smiles.
[01:10:10] Speaker D: It would have been so funny if the cat from the house was actually member of the Seelie Court.
[01:10:14] Speaker C: I was just thinking that.
[01:10:16] Speaker B: And he's. And he's in his throne, tiny.
[01:10:20] Speaker C: I'm like. Each time one of the people come in, Greta's like, terrified. She's like trying to mimic their facial expressions.
[01:10:28] Speaker B: Like, she's, she's mirroring.
[01:10:30] Speaker C: She's trying to maybe, maybe like halfway subconsciously, but she's like trying to. She like tries to return the warm smile. Who knows how successfully.
[01:10:44] Speaker B: This quiet does not extend long before you all can hear.
And flying upward from very broad green, dazzling crystalline wings is Drakkon.
From the landscape lower below, an ancient dragon flies up from the rainforest, up toward the platform, and on it rides brilliant light.
[01:11:21] Speaker D: What was that you said it cut out, Zachary?
[01:11:25] Speaker B: On it rides a dazzling figure of brilliant light. The dragon rises up, lands, and clasps onto the very brilliant crystalline throne.
And where it lands, its tail wraps around. There are many dragons you are not familiar with. You are not dragon experts, though you've run into a few. Few alive are in the material plane, but this dragon, its scales are like a polished metal. Its face leads up into this conical upward turning point and the back of its head is like another, as if a metal moon crest was inserted down into its skull and shaped part of its face. It's slender and exaggerated. Its eyes are brilliant pools of living green light. Its wings spread away into green dust that falls Away from them, off of the nape of its neck is this wisping green moss like beard that runs down.
I'm going to send a picture in lore in reference, none of you all know what a moonstone dragon is, but for the listeners, you may look that up.
[01:12:31] Speaker A: It's so pretty.
Oh my God.
I want to tattoo it is astride its back.
[01:12:38] Speaker B: Astride its backflies, yes, literally coming out of its wings and then like floating around the throne. Astride its back is a 19 foot tall, incredibly slender, incredibly lean humanoid.
There are certainly details to their physicality, but the person who is made entirely of dazzling what looks like diamond. But to identify the crystal would be hard at all.
[01:13:14] Speaker A: None of you are Craig, did you say they're 1950?
[01:13:17] Speaker B: Everything is so reflective and refractive that you have trouble making out where is the edge of the shoulder joint, where is the center of the hip.
They are sleek, slender and gracious and perfectly carved. They look almost fragile. Their face is tall and exaggerated and illustrated fine, and their expression is moot and flat. And the sound of crystal very gently rubbing against perfectly smooth metal. Just as the individual slides down off the side of the dragon, almost to the side of the dragon itself, reaches up, seems to kiss the dragon on the side of the face and then just strides around the rim of the throne and sits down in the throne. One of the two thrones in front of you all, like directly in front the one.
So you all have Yeliktan over here, fluffy dude over here, empty throne, crystal person, empty throne, Kitsuyyiki and this crystalline individual, they sit down on their throne and they sit perfectly erect and straight. That furred individual, he is lounging in the way only a cat and dog can lounge, with a flexible spine. But the crystalline individual sits perfectly erect and temples their fingers not in a vicious controlling way, but relaxed, as if all their joints naturally settle into that position and the dragon just alights its wings and then it turns and glides away.
[01:14:48] Speaker A: Hmm.
[01:14:49] Speaker B: Each of the members of the court begin looking to each other, regarding you. Now they tower above you. You feel so small before them.
A moment later you all hear as thunder rolls around and lightning cracks as an inclement point of dark sky grows very nearby in the sky it rises, you all can see. Tseygi smiles and leans forward in her throe, looking away from Yelektananth's eyes dash almost somewhere between excitedly and nervously toward that cloud patch.
The furred lord, his ears lay flat back against his head like a cat that's uncomfortable by something his tail puffs up a little bit and his pupils dilate. The crystalline individual turns very softly and smoothly, rotating their head. And Stormcloud roils up around the throne in between Qitzhi and the crystalline individual until it sort of blows by you all occluding your vision. You are kind of covered in water until there's one loud lightning crack and there's this flash of light where you guys have to cover your hands. And as the cloud drifts away into the distance, sitting in the charred lapis lazuli throne is an individual. She's about 22ft tall.
She's huge.
Not only is she tall, she. She is bigger than every other individual here.
She is big.
Her face is broad. Her hands relative to her own side are huge. Her forearms are thick and corded with her muscle. Her shoulders are wide. Her stomach is broad. Her legs are like tree trunks. Her feet are massive. Massive. She is big.
Thick braids lock down her head and pull tightly into this long braid chain that moves down her shoulder, studded in a heavy metal clasp. Her face is broad. Her features are prominent and strong.
Her skin is like a deep dark blue and there's this sort of water like dappling quality to it, always shaped, shifting as if.
And she looks hard. She looks stern and strong, but it's like her skin looks like stone and it's just above the surface, as if there's always water playing across it smoothly. She is covered in thick hardened leather, like a sort of leather mail, and her fake muscles tense and creak against it as she shifts into her throne. Her position is coiled and heavy and around her across every once in a while, from her broad shoulder down to the breast of her chest to her stomach, they all arc like a little of electricity. Her eyes burn by of light and she just stares directly at you all.
Each of the members look to her.
[01:18:36] Speaker C: I, I, because I've seen her before. I give her the same nod that I gave. It's.
[01:18:44] Speaker D: Seen her before.
[01:18:44] Speaker B: You've met a third member of.
[01:18:45] Speaker A: When did you meet?
[01:18:47] Speaker C: I thought we meant. Oh, never mind. I just know about her. I'm sorry.
[01:18:50] Speaker A: Yeah, I was gonna ask did you recognize Third?
[01:18:55] Speaker B: But you certainly have never met a third member.
[01:18:58] Speaker A: You can infer that that's probably her.
[01:19:01] Speaker B: The other four members look to her and then all four of the other members look toward Yelik to Non, who leans forward in his throne and simply says, court, I give you the fun, guys.
And everyone turns and looks at you all.
[01:19:23] Speaker A: There's still one empty throne though. Am I Correct.
[01:19:26] Speaker B: In that you see an empty throne.
[01:19:28] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:19:28] Speaker B: In between which one is and the crystalline individual.
[01:19:32] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:19:34] Speaker D: Boz takes a breath, drinking in deep Craig's aura of courage.
[01:19:42] Speaker B: Oh, yes, he says.
[01:19:46] Speaker D: Says a quick prayer for the first time ever. And he just says, make. Help me quietly.
[01:19:57] Speaker B: Pause. Can't see it, but when he whispers it, a little bit of golden sort of aurora first flame just burns around his feet.
[01:20:06] Speaker D: I feel like just taking in that breath and feeling the courage is.
I don't know enough of an answer for prayer that he feels.
He feels reverent, but he doesn't feel afraid.
I look at each of the members of the court and I address them and I say, o, Court, my name is Boz.
This is Craig, Greta, Roe, and Tello.
We are called the fun guys, and we stand against the evil one.
[01:20:54] Speaker B: They sort of look back and forth. The third individual, he gets the biggest.
Just a massive grip in and this deep sound generates in his chest until it resonates outward and it's just this big, like a purr. And it comes off in this wave of energy that flows over you all as you all feel it. Like, all the hair stands up on your necks and your bodies. You feel this warmth. And all of you are given a bardic inspiration a. All five of you.
[01:21:36] Speaker C: Oh, he's a cat.
[01:21:37] Speaker A: Guard cat.
[01:21:39] Speaker B: Well, he's an arch bonus from him. Doesn't have a class.
His. His. His Bic Inspiration is a D20.
[01:21:47] Speaker D: Oh, my gosh.
[01:21:48] Speaker A: What?
I'm shook.
[01:21:52] Speaker B: And all of you have it.
[01:21:54] Speaker C: Wow.
[01:21:55] Speaker B: Wow.
[01:21:56] Speaker C: Oh, he likes it.
[01:21:57] Speaker B: For whatever reason, this individual seems very pleased with you all, and he just lounges a little further in the throne until, like, he's resting on an arm, but the other arm just straightens out and hangs off of the side the way that, like, dogs and cats hang their limbs off of things.
This individual is so strange because everything about him seems so warm and fluffy and soft. But those slitted eyes, it feels like a tiger's very happy with you, where you're like, oh, how beautiful and sweet. That's a tiger. Is the energy. You.
[01:22:36] Speaker A: Can I ask two questions about his appearance real quick just so I can get a better idea?
[01:22:42] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[01:22:43] Speaker A: How tall is he, like, in comparison? Like, you said one was, like, 19:1. They're all 22 plus. Okay, so bigger than, like, biggest.
[01:22:51] Speaker B: He's 18ft tall.
[01:22:53] Speaker A: He's 18ft tall.
[01:22:54] Speaker B: Crystalline individuals, like, a foot taller, but very.
[01:22:57] Speaker A: And then, like, is he more like.
Like you said, like a cat or tiger vibes, or is it More like a Tabaxi, where they're, like, humanoid.
[01:23:16] Speaker B: Closer to Baxi. Okay, but if Tabaxi is in the middle between cat and person, this individual's a little closer.
[01:23:24] Speaker A: It's okay. Cool, cool, cool, cool.
[01:23:28] Speaker C: Can I tell what throne are they sitting on?
[01:23:31] Speaker B: He is sitting on the throne next to Yelik to Non. Also as a quick reference.
[01:23:38] Speaker D: Fuzzy dude.
[01:23:41] Speaker B: Empty throne, Crystal dude.
[01:23:51] Speaker D: For somebody that's hard to hear you, Zachary.
[01:23:54] Speaker B: Oh, sorry about that. Yelik to Nanth.
Fuzzy dude, Empty throne, Crystal guy.
Thudas Ki.
[01:24:09] Speaker C: Okay, so they're. Okay. So they're like in a C shape around us.
[01:24:13] Speaker B: Yes. Yeah, yeah.
[01:24:19] Speaker C: Can I tell what?
Can I tell what at some point, but throne. What. What his throne is made of?
[01:24:32] Speaker B: Sure.
His throne is cat's eye.
[01:24:38] Speaker A: Yeah. Nice.
[01:24:39] Speaker B: The whole throne. Warm and.
Yes, exactly.
The colors shift as the light moves around it.
Kit leans forward and says, it is lovely to finally meet all of you.
Yeligta. Nanth tells us that he has great faith in you and that with his divining eyes, he sees your place at the possible end of all things.
Do you all believe that this is such a path you are on?
[01:25:26] Speaker D: Yes.
[01:25:30] Speaker B: And the crystalline individual, when they shift, there's this shifting breaking glass sound, this like, as they shift very slightly away and just say, please, tell us more.
[01:25:56] Speaker D: There is a grave evil that all of you know, have known long before. We have.
People stronger than us have died fighting it, pushing against it.
But for some reason, the Baker is guiding us towards a confrontation with it.
We have spent all of our energy and time since we met each other, whether knowingly or unknowingly, coming together and bringing allies with us to muster up a force, a will, a power to keep the things that we love safe, to keep people safe, to keep home safe.
And if that means being there at the end of it all, then that's where we'll be.
Because this journey so far has been built on trust in the Maker. And as of right now, I don't know. I don't know how we'll defeat him, but I feel like the Maker does, and I feel like he's gotten us here and doing nothing's not an option.
[01:27:18] Speaker B: Dude, I. I need to keep the conversation moving and I want to get.
But the. In any time you all, especially as boss speaks, you are. They are not one body. They are not a governing council. Similar silence you are getting. They are so different from each other. All crystalline individual is just reticent, just a stone taking in your information, listening to it.
Cole, there. There is an energy off of this individual. Every time you look at their eyes, you feel your breath.
There is a great peace from them.
Neither positive nor negative stillness.
The third individual, he is just pleased with everything you have to say.
And Maker browse alike curiously. When you you talk about Zorb, he gets a kind of frowning face.
Yelux has that erratic, intense, slightly uncomfortable.
Kitsuiegi is transfixed on you and her very. It's not that she's very flappable, but reacts to each thing you say as if for all of her existence she's still really considering every last word us.
She is not unmoved by your words, moved by every word. When you speak of the Maker, she scowls slightly. When you speak of the great evil, her brow furrows. Anger paints her expression. When you speak of doing nothing, she likes like sort of sarcastically chuffs. And as you finish your statement you say doing nothing is not a choice. She speaks up and her rough voice is preceded by one single pop of electricity just and precedes her words as she says we are not considering doing nothing mortal.
And Kidzigi sort of like looks at her never with aggression, but sort of this sort of look sideways as if to temper her which seems to land nowhere.
The crystalline individual to her right looks at her and looks at her very intently. Just quits looking at you all at all.
When there's the pop, the feline individual like he like twitches with it.
And she says does his tail poof out just a little? Yeah.
And as he twitches his very broad. He has digits. They're thumbs, but they're so thick that they are a little bit in between fingers and, and, and paw digits. When he does the very cute fluffy looking individual. So some, some 13 inch claws slide out momentarily and scrape the front of his throne before retracting. Yeah. Well, you have to remember his hands four feet across and they just these huge recurves.
[01:30:44] Speaker A: His hand is the size of Greta and Ro.
[01:30:47] Speaker B: Oh my God, those clothes. Those claws look like they would just cleave you. Like they would just cut you apart.
[01:30:54] Speaker A: That's hard to even put into imagination.
[01:30:57] Speaker B: Continues. And she says the survival of your realm would be lovely, but it's not our concern. We bring you here today for the survival of ours.
We understand the Hate Kings danger. We understand his cost.
And where many of the other members here, Kitsie seems to be under whim of her personality.
And where some of them there's an intensity to y focus that can sometimes make it seem like even though he can change that focus quickly, like he, can be hard to distract.
The crystalline individual looks completely unflappable. But when she says, we're aware of her, of his cost, you watch her try to fight and fail to control her eyes darting to the empty throne before they look back to you, and she says, we have devised a possibility of protecting our realm from him forever, but it is drastic.
We task you not with saving us all, but with telling us if we all need to be saved.
And the crystalline individual from her right shifts slightly again with more of that sharp bell chime sound, and as they shift they say, we understand that you may not succeed against the Hateful One.
We look for you to be emissaries of a message, for if you fail there will be no time to spare.
Our plan is drastic and lengthy, and its facilitation would leave no room for a margin for passivity.
We agree upon few things, and we have come to this agreement at the strange vision of our compatriot.
And as they look over to Yelluktananth, Yeluktananth sort of gets a slightly unhinged smile and says he looks to Ubaz and he says, we are considering, if we have no other choice, breaking the ordinance of the realms and separating the fey realm from the material plane forever.
[01:34:05] Speaker D: Preemptively, I assume, not waiting.
[01:34:10] Speaker B: There are a series of nods.
The Christian individual doesn't move at all, but a series of nods from around. Kit chimes in now and says, it is not an ocean that all of us see with equal merit, and a very intense look flashes up at Yalaktan and then to Thuras, but she continues then and says, whether or not it can even be done is a question, and if we do would come at a cost very grave.
This notion, though it's exact, shall not be made known to you, is one you will keep secret.
And her expression is warm and her eyes are severe and she continues and she says, if you see in those most final moments of your realm not that your life is forfeit, but that your realm is, that all will be lost to him.
We ask that you would come to us, that you'd leave your realm behind, at least one of you, and that you would come and find us in whatever detail you can, perhaps with few dying breaths if that fire must be lit.
The furred individual shifts very slightly from his relaxed position and says, what we are saying is that if you take our accordance and we'll consider it a deal with each one of you, then you are agreeing to use a mechanism we provide to immediately leave your realm before your final moment of extra exploration.
Come here and prove to us with your waking beating heart that there is no more hope for the material plane.
This and only this, will move us to such drastic action.
Thuras resumes now and says, the question at hand is whether or not you can be trusted, whether or not your perspective is worthy of such determination.
And the last part, she says at Galactananth, she looks back to you all and she says, and some of us question whether or not you would even survive to make such a judgment.
[01:37:31] Speaker D: Pause.
Not for long. But he takes a moment to think and to weigh it literally long enough for there to be enough of a gap to tell that he's doing it, but not long enough for there to be an awkward pause.
[01:37:43] Speaker B: And he asks, some of them are patient with you.
[01:37:46] Speaker D: Some of them, can you tell me, can you tell me more about this mechanism.
[01:37:54] Speaker B: The. The crystalline individual? The names of two of these individuals you still don't know, raised, lifts up an arm. And as they lift a hand, the palm so very thin, the. The digits of which so long as the digits roll outward, they seem to catch light and flash, as if it's just their movement under light, because every bit of them is somewhat partially transparent and refractive. Until you realize that magic is running up the arm and out of the fingertips. And as they flash, floating in its hands suddenly are just five rotating stones.
Each one of them an elaborately gorgeous crystal that just looks like a very delicate hollow frame.
And that individual says, it is not a young secret that individuals from your realm long learned to go how to mimic one of our creations, to crush stone and walk across the world.
These are stones which you would crush to fall through the realms, to move from your realm very instantly here to ours.
Entrusting you with this would be to give someone the key to our home.
Their hand folds and all the stones disappear. They lay their arm back down and continue.
If you plunge yourself to our agreement, you are saying that in your final moment of expiration, you will abandon all else, home, loves and purpose.
Crush this stone and come here to us, signaling, telling us that it is time to do what cannot be reversed.
[01:40:16] Speaker D: I look to the other fungi's around me just to get facial expression.
[01:40:24] Speaker B: You get the feeling that they're permitting you to speak with each other should need be. They're also definitely listening. But you know, hey, boss, what do.
[01:40:34] Speaker D: You think about that?
I turn around and I. I don't. I don't whisper.
I speak. I speak plainly and Calmly, like knowing that we're heard, probably that our thoughts are heard.
I don't know.
And I, I, I say, guys, I can think of no better option than my last breath, my last breaths being taken.
If all hope is lost, knowing that somewhere else gets taken live.
[01:41:16] Speaker C: Yeah.
I look at Tello to see what Tello's thinking.
[01:41:23] Speaker B: Tello's brow is very thoroughed. He's thinking hard. Man, is it a bummer that Mike isn't here. Her reason for not being here is so good, but man, could we use a little Mickle in this pickle. But Tello is just thinking hard, brewing an opinion that he'll bring up after all the player characters have spoken.
[01:41:43] Speaker A: Ro looks to Kit Siegi.
I'll get it eventually.
[01:41:53] Speaker B: A horribly hard name.
[01:41:57] Speaker A: And she cautiously says, if we were to do this, would it ensure the life and safety of your realm?
Would it be an absolute to save the Feywild or the Feywild?
[01:42:24] Speaker B: She looks to your eyes and meets them sharply and says to your gods, for absolute, there is no promise.
It is the best mechanism we have devised, but it is no guarantee.
Each of the fun guys contemplates. Craig says something really poignant and then Tello sort of turns inward to you guys. He lowers his voice even though you're probably not capable of keeping what's said from the Seelie Court, but he lowers his voice and he says, does that mean that if we take this deal and we're in some sort of a desperate last each moment that we have to abandon whatever's happening there, that we're sort of like, how exactly does this look if we don't know?
[01:43:43] Speaker D: Yeah, I, we, we will have to have the judgment to know if it is too late. That will be a call that we'll have to make.
[01:43:51] Speaker A: I mean, it's, it's obviously.
[01:43:55] Speaker C: In this, in this, if we take this deal, we can't have, there's, there's no absolute devotion to, it has to be absolute devotion. There can't be a partial devotion to one world or the other.
[01:44:15] Speaker D: No, it's the, the I boz. He, I think, you know, probably impolitely, I think he starts talking at the end of Greta's sentence. He says, no, it's sure if everything is ending, if it's done, if it's gone, if there is no hope.
[01:44:34] Speaker B: With.
[01:44:34] Speaker D: With basically our last breath, we should come here.
[01:44:39] Speaker A: I just don't, my initial thought is I just don't know about abandoning my world. You know, going kind of the going down with their Your own ship kind of thing.
I understand it.
[01:45:00] Speaker D: I think it's better I understand the importance. I.
If the question is dying with the material plane or saving another one, I would prefer to save another one.
Because a death that means nothing means nothing.
[01:45:20] Speaker A: Well, it wouldn't mean nothing if you're fighting till the end.
[01:45:25] Speaker D: That's what we do.
[01:45:25] Speaker A: You did all you could.
[01:45:27] Speaker D: That's exactly what we do.
[01:45:29] Speaker B: Telosum, Rose thought, is making some sort of an impression. And Zach is playing devil's advocate for the role that he thinks Micah might be arguing, but trying not to influence anything too much now player's character. And he says, what if whatever our deaths are in synchronous.
What if this going down with the ship thing doesn't align one by one? What if my death is far before yours and it feels a little self important, but what if the fate of our realm is a little determined by whether or not we're there?
[01:46:08] Speaker C: Well, I think, yeah, we won't know.
[01:46:13] Speaker B: Right? But if we take this deal, aren't we pledging ourselves to one side of that knife?
[01:46:18] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:46:18] Speaker B: Might be the edge of a blade, but I don't know.
[01:46:23] Speaker A: My concern is with all respect. And Rose kind of darts her eyes to the court.
[01:46:32] Speaker B: Bro, as you look around, a thing is dawning on you.
Part of this evaluation is happening. Now you realize this is why they're making you talk this out in front of them. They're all watching you. Like hot. I mean, the feeling of being under a microscope is painful. Painful. And as you lower your tones and hush close to each other, you watch their faces react to the things you say and you're like, oh, they can hear every last word you're saying.
[01:46:59] Speaker A: Sorry.
[01:47:01] Speaker C: No, go ahead.
[01:47:02] Speaker A: With immense respect for the Seelie Court and the Fae.
I just don't know if I could. Even if it is the last ditch effort. I mean, they're. Well, they're not. But they're not.
[01:47:23] Speaker D: Why are we here? Why are we.
[01:47:25] Speaker C: I know, but I guess.
[01:47:26] Speaker A: But I guess what is the deal?
Because I would rather defend all the realms and save as many as we can than just take a deal and just try to save one.
I don't think all of the powers here.
[01:47:46] Speaker D: That's what we're. I don't think that's what it is.
[01:47:47] Speaker A: It might could help.
[01:47:49] Speaker C: We're already on the track to. I. I see what you're saying. I see that inherently there's an argument for separation instead of unity.
But we can fight. The idea is that we fight to the end. Once the end comes not of our lives. This isn't about the end of our lives. Once the end of our realm. You know, we might not make it to the end of our realm if we die in a fight with Lashla or if, you know, we eat a wrong berry.
Our death.
The stones aren't about our death. It's about the death of the realm. So we, you know, the idea is that we fight up until.
[01:48:30] Speaker D: Ro, you are the one that believes that this means something. You're the one that told me that.
You're the one that convinced me that this isn't random, that there's a purpose to what we're doing and why we're doing it. But we're led here for a reason, for a purpose.
And we're here to save our realm.
[01:48:51] Speaker A: I still believe that.
[01:48:53] Speaker B: Wait.
[01:48:54] Speaker D: We're here to save our realm. We're here to receive the knowledge of the book of Secrets, to use it to save our realm so that we will never have to come back here.
I don't think we will have to.
I think that we're meant to be triumphant. I think that we're meant to win.
I think that this is bigger and stronger than us.
But I don't think the maker would allow us to just die if he could allow one of us at the very end, at the right time, to make a difference.
And I did not believe that a month ago. I did not.
So I'm asking you to have faith, knowing that this is the choice that we may just have to make an order to save Arvel.
[01:50:00] Speaker A: Ro gets like.
Almost like a twinkle in her eye, like, hearing V talk like that and everything.
And then she kind of.
Yeah, that makes sense. I.
If we can't, I. I understand.
[01:50:34] Speaker D: I. I'd be willing to go by myself. I mean, I don't know if we'll have the luxury of a choice, but if something happens, I mean.
[01:50:43] Speaker A: I would.
[01:50:44] Speaker D: Love to die at the doorway of my home, but if making this choice means saving my home, I'd rather do that instead.
[01:50:54] Speaker B: Yeah, Tello listening nods ahead and just says, baz, you make a point that they're also giving us the choice to agree individual with me.
That's true.
[01:51:12] Speaker C: And I. I think that. At least for me, I think that this.
[01:51:20] Speaker D: I don't know, I would understand if any of you would just couldn't make this choice.
[01:51:30] Speaker C: Me too.
[01:51:32] Speaker D: I would love to be able to do it unanimously.
And hello.
[01:51:36] Speaker B: Just gives you a very respectful. Like a very just. He just meets your gaze and nods.
[01:51:48] Speaker D: I give her a Big hug.
Ro hugs back like an honest, earnest one.
[01:52:00] Speaker B: Greg awkwardly joins in a moment.
[01:52:03] Speaker A: I.
It makes sense, boss. I. I agree. It.
I'm. I mean, I've said that we would have to do things and things happen for a reason. And I, I.
It's more of a pride thing, I guess, that I feel as though I want or I need to go down with the ship if something happens. But if I look at the big picture, if there is absolutely nothing else we can do, then, like you said, if we could save another's world, then it would at least be worth it.
[01:52:56] Speaker B: Craig takes your hand row and squeezes it a little. A little too hard. Not because he's too strong, but because he's not factoring in his strength plus having a metal gauntlet on his hand. But as he squeezes a little too hard, he just says, oh, man. I can't match the emotion of Micah's voice, but he just says, and you know, Ro, whatever choice you make, you'll still be one of us.
[01:53:24] Speaker D: Nods, doesn't say anything. He just.
[01:53:31] Speaker A: I know.
[01:53:38] Speaker B: Tillo just looks at everyone and says, are we ready to choose?
[01:53:44] Speaker C: I am.
[01:53:46] Speaker A: Yeah.
Ro looks to boss, just kind of nods.
[01:53:54] Speaker D: You're okay with it?
[01:53:58] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:53:58] Speaker C: Just. Player question. I feel like we should wait for Micah or, like, at least let Micah make her own choice.
[01:54:06] Speaker B: Okay. Oh, you mean not pause this moment eternally, but not specify what Craig chooses?
[01:54:11] Speaker C: Yes.
[01:54:12] Speaker B: Good call. I was like, well, Abby, I have bad news, but now I'm with you.
[01:54:17] Speaker D: That was a fun session, guys.
[01:54:20] Speaker B: Okay, bye, listeners. Good luck.
[01:54:23] Speaker C: You know what I mean?
[01:54:24] Speaker B: I think that's probably the right call.
[01:54:26] Speaker A: Yeah. Like, kind of just not specified. That makes sense.
[01:54:28] Speaker C: Yeah. And I. Maybe we can, like. Does it matter if we're unanimous? DM the.
[01:54:35] Speaker B: It. It appears, if you understand correctly, that unanimous unanimity is not at all required. That they are judging whether or not they want to permit you this opportunity.
[01:54:44] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:54:45] Speaker B: And that Boz could then be the only one.
[01:54:47] Speaker A: That's true. Yeah.
[01:54:48] Speaker B: And he would be the one to grant the reward if Rose convictions point her a different direction. It's the thing they are offering is that you are convincing them that they can trust you with it. And then if they can trust you, each one of you as equal individuals.
[01:55:02] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:55:03] Speaker B: Is making your call.
[01:55:04] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:55:04] Speaker C: Got it. Got it. Okay, I see.
[01:55:07] Speaker D: Okay. I lock eyes with every single one of the fun guys individually, sans Mikey, Craig, and I just. I, like, nod just to have final confirmation.
[01:55:17] Speaker A: Oh.
[01:55:17] Speaker D: I don't even nod. I just lock eyes just to, like, get an answer because I don't know. I don't want to pressure anybody. I feel this is right. I feel like Boss is trying to say that I don't want Boss to be like like I didn't want to do this. Boss made me do this. Yeah. Like here we are in role plays earnestly. It's like what do you want to do?
[01:55:34] Speaker C: Is this like are we ready to answer or are we Right. Okay, but we're gonna give our are.
[01:55:41] Speaker A: We gonna give our we're gonna give our own answer though, right? Okay.
[01:55:44] Speaker D: I don't want to engage them again.
[01:55:46] Speaker C: Got it.
[01:55:46] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah.
[01:55:47] Speaker D: Like we're ready.
[01:55:48] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:55:48] Speaker B: And in the background each of the each of the Fae lords and ladies is just like just frozen waiting for they're just on pause.
[01:55:57] Speaker A: I I I smile at Boz and just say boz, We've we've come a long way. I I'm glad we have found mutual understanding with each other.
[01:56:21] Speaker C: Red is looking kind of emotional and she grabs Tello's hand and just kind of squeezes it.
[01:56:28] Speaker B: Tello, he squeezes it back and smiles. There's a little uncertainty on his face, but it's not like he's in some desperate place. Just he squeezes it and the face is very bittersweet sweet. But he smiles back. Oh goldfish.
And sorry Sorry. Then when is the does the party turn back to the se court?
[01:56:57] Speaker D: I turn back to the CE court and I say if if the court is willing to offer and trust us and were willing to agree.
[01:57:14] Speaker A: I thought we were each gonna yeah.
[01:57:16] Speaker B: We'Re no whatever the name of I I understood. I understood what Lane is getting at that he's saying that we're ready to answer. Not that we're all agreeing. I understand what Lane is saying.
[01:57:24] Speaker C: Okay okay.
[01:57:25] Speaker B: The the furry Fay Lord whose name we still don't know, smiles Yelik toanth. You SW swear. You watch him kind of exhale a little bit like as if almost slightly relieved Kids smiles. There's still very little emotion on the crystalline figure's face and Thuras's brow is still furrowed and they two look at each other momentarily and Yel Tenant grimaces slightly but nods a little half and the third individual really says is that really necessary?
Duras says, your willingness is admirable and we've heard great tale of your capability, but some of us still have your doubts.
This is not simply a question of your willingness, but of your survivability.
Do you consent to a trial?
[01:58:36] Speaker D: I do.
[01:58:37] Speaker C: Greta nods.
[01:58:41] Speaker B: Craig puts her hand on Star Splinter.
[01:58:44] Speaker A: Ro takes a deep breath and nods.
[01:58:48] Speaker D: As I say I do. I also whisper the silvered word for shield. And my shield. My bracer opens up.
[01:58:52] Speaker B: And I'd like everyone to roll initiative for me.
[01:58:56] Speaker C: Oh, God.
[01:58:58] Speaker A: Scared.
[01:59:01] Speaker D: Yo, Zach.
Just a reminder, be patient with me as I play Micah Sheet for the first time.
[01:59:09] Speaker B: Thank you.
[01:59:10] Speaker A: All right, I have a frozen.
[01:59:14] Speaker D: I think Zach's frozen.
[01:59:15] Speaker C: No, he's playing. He's being a little.
[01:59:17] Speaker A: Yeah, he's being silly that I can.
[01:59:20] Speaker C: See his eyes moving.
[01:59:21] Speaker A: Yeah, he's.
[01:59:22] Speaker B: Tell me that wasn't pretty good, but tell me that wasn't my best one in a while. Tell me that was my best.
[01:59:26] Speaker C: Did we long rest after the thing?
[01:59:29] Speaker B: This is super important. No, you haven't yet.
[01:59:32] Speaker A: That's what I thought. That's very worrisome. Okay. Wonderful.
[01:59:36] Speaker B: Here we are.
[01:59:38] Speaker A: Hate it here. I have a question.
[01:59:41] Speaker B: Yeah. What's up, broham?
[01:59:42] Speaker A: Is. I don't know how long we've been talking, but. But does that little nice D20 bar, is that still going for a while or. It's still there. For how much?
[01:59:52] Speaker B: Get that for no reason.
[01:59:53] Speaker A: Or how much longer? You don't. We don't know. How would we not know?
[02:00:00] Speaker D: I have a very important question that actually has technical capabilities and what we're about to do.
[02:00:04] Speaker B: Zachary.
[02:00:05] Speaker A: Well, Zach said. Bye. Okay. He said no.
[02:00:11] Speaker D: Zachary. Craig is wearing the ring of regeneration, right?
[02:00:15] Speaker A: You look so scary.
[02:00:17] Speaker D: I'm gonna have to do stuff with Micah Sheet. I just need to know. Craig's wearing the ring of regeneration.
[02:00:21] Speaker A: We can't hear you, Zach.
[02:00:23] Speaker C: To go get a snack. I have to go get a stress snack.
[02:00:27] Speaker A: I have to pee. May I pee really quickly? I have to pee. I have stress pee.
[02:00:31] Speaker D: This is gonna be an episode where I have to edit a lot. Huh? All right.
[02:00:34] Speaker B: Yeah. If everyone. If everyone could just get. Give me two seconds of silence, okay?
Okay.
Can y'all hear me? Can you guys see that? Oh, they've all run away. Sorry. My phone does this really cool thing where anytime I turn it back onto the Discord app, it takes it off of the deaf. And I previously put it on, and then everyone's voice chambers echo and devolve into a horrible madness.
Are we taking a sudden potty break? Is that what everyone said?
[02:01:21] Speaker D: I don't know. I think they left. Question.
[02:01:23] Speaker B: They all left. Okay.
[02:01:25] Speaker D: Craig is wearing the ring of regeneration, right?
[02:01:29] Speaker B: No. He was to have his scar healed, and then Roe was like, okay, my turn. I want to regrow my hair. And she took it back. She has it.
Do you go back to full health. When you put the ring on, how long does it take to get all your hit points back?
[02:01:48] Speaker D: You get one D6 hit points every 10 minutes.
So if she's had it on for however long, like, I mean, maybe we can roll for it, but.
[02:01:58] Speaker B: Yeah, actually, actually, very importantly, I think you do need to roll for it. That means she's had it on for. Let's say she's had it on for, like, it's been a while. I want to see three hours.
[02:02:11] Speaker D: Three hours.
[02:02:14] Speaker B: So what's that? That's.
What's three hours divided by 10 minutes? Talking about your six times three. 18. Generation 18D6.
[02:02:25] Speaker D: Oh, wait, Zach.
[02:02:27] Speaker B: Yeah.
[02:02:28] Speaker D: The whole time that we were waiting for the Sealy Court show up, is that considered a short rest?
[02:02:34] Speaker B: Because you were doing nothing but standing around talking. I will actually take that.
[02:02:41] Speaker A: So what does that mean exactly? What can we do with that? I forgot.
[02:02:45] Speaker C: We can use our hit dice, right?
[02:02:47] Speaker D: Jackie, you can roll that much.
[02:02:51] Speaker A: I know. I was like, I don't ever do that.
[02:02:53] Speaker C: Can you help me?
[02:02:54] Speaker B: For generation is, you guys have one of the best items in the world.
[02:02:59] Speaker A: I'm looking at you. I'm looking at you.
[02:03:01] Speaker D: You can roll 18D6 until you have max health.
[02:03:05] Speaker A: What?
[02:03:06] Speaker D: Do that.
[02:03:07] Speaker A: How is that possible?
[02:03:09] Speaker D: Because you have the ring of regeneration on.
[02:03:11] Speaker A: I do?
[02:03:12] Speaker D: You do. Roll it.
[02:03:14] Speaker A: Wait, I do?
[02:03:15] Speaker D: Yes, you do. Okay, that's what Zach said. We ask no questions. We only do things he says.
[02:03:23] Speaker C: Brandon, can you help me with hit dice?
[02:03:26] Speaker B: Craig had it to heal his scars, and then you took it back to heal your hair, and you never took it off.
[02:03:30] Speaker A: No, I did take it off because I didn't.
[02:03:32] Speaker D: Why are you doing this?
[02:03:34] Speaker A: I'm not doing anything. We just cut my hair a cute way. Okay, okay.
[02:03:37] Speaker B: No, I remember now. Jackie is right.
[02:03:39] Speaker A: Yeah.
[02:03:40] Speaker B: The ultimate. Where's the homework moment? No, she's totally right. She gave it back. Boss is the one who had it. Boss, if you're missing any hit points, you have them back.
[02:03:46] Speaker D: I'll take it. I'm missing 35 hit points, to be clear.
[02:03:50] Speaker B: So you guys did get a short rest. So you can roll hit dice if you want.
[02:03:53] Speaker A: Okay. I just. I just knew I. I didn't want to take it and not use it because I did take it off because Ro was like, I like my hair short now. So here, take it back. So I'm. I just wanted to be real.
[02:04:07] Speaker B: Jackie's character doesn't get 18 D6 hit points because a month ago, Jackie the player was like, I like this look.
[02:04:15] Speaker A: That's such a row thing, though, let's be honest. Okay, short rest. How does this work?
One or more hit dice at the end.
So one or more hit dice at the end of a short rest up to the character's maximum number of hit dice. Can someone explain this to me? We've never done this.
[02:04:34] Speaker C: You have your dice. It's right under the hit points in your class features in the player's handbook.
[02:04:39] Speaker A: Yeah, I know my hit dice.
[02:04:41] Speaker C: Okay, so you have one hit dice per layer. So I get. I get 12 D8s. So I can roll 12 D8s. Add those to my hit points until I'm back to max.
[02:04:53] Speaker A: So I can roll 12 of mine as well, right?
[02:04:56] Speaker C: Yes. And then. Beautiful, you take that away. So, like, if you only need four to get back to max, then you have what?
[02:05:04] Speaker D: You can add your con modifier to it.
[02:05:06] Speaker C: Can I add your con modifier?
[02:05:08] Speaker D: Yes.
[02:05:09] Speaker C: Okay.
[02:05:10] Speaker A: Oh, I just rolled an eight. That's beautiful.
[02:05:12] Speaker B: It's incredible how hard it is to die in 5E.
[02:05:16] Speaker A: Don't say that.
[02:05:18] Speaker B: No, I mean, it's true, but.
Oh, I didn't mean to just fully close that, but here we are. Okay, what spells do I have?
Can you guys see the map?
[02:05:32] Speaker D: Why didn't rolling.
[02:05:35] Speaker B: Oh, yes. What is everyone's initiatives?
[02:05:37] Speaker A: Oh, yeah.
[02:05:38] Speaker C: You add dex to initiative, right?
[02:05:41] Speaker B: You do add dex to initiative.
[02:05:44] Speaker A: My initi. Mine is 12.
[02:05:50] Speaker D: I got 12 as well, but at my dexterity, that makes any difference.
[02:05:56] Speaker B: So is it 12 plus 5?
[02:05:59] Speaker D: No, mine's 12. But I think you go over who has the higher dexterity.
[02:06:03] Speaker B: You're so right.
Why don't I trust the words you say more by now? Yes. And then what did Krieg get?
[02:06:10] Speaker A: I thought you were being silly.
[02:06:11] Speaker D: Landon Craig actually didn't do too bad. What's his dexterity?
His dexterity? This is a not awful. What in the world?
This is a character sheet I'm not used to seeing. Yes, he rolled a 15.
[02:06:26] Speaker B: And, okay, the way Micah runs her sheet is interesting. A bunch of things are scribbled out and then written over it, and it's very much the inside of Micah's brain.
Yes. So you have a plus one in deck, so. Oh, was 15 your total?
[02:06:42] Speaker D: 15 is the total, yes.
[02:06:44] Speaker B: Okay. Awesome.
[02:06:47] Speaker C: Greta got a five.
[02:06:50] Speaker B: Okay.
[02:06:51] Speaker A: Okay. I'm back to full health.
[02:06:52] Speaker B: Actually pretty good when clerics have low.
It's good when clerics have low initiative. And then what? Did tello yet?
[02:07:01] Speaker A: Yeah, but the way she's in your face.
[02:07:09] Speaker C: New grad. I did look at my sheet, and I Was like, where's the deflect mode?
In a moment of panic, I really want to inflict some wounds.
[02:07:19] Speaker A: Always. I'm up. I'm up to max. Hit points again. So that's exciting.
[02:07:24] Speaker B: Strategize with each other for a second as I write down.
[02:07:27] Speaker A: So what.
What is our initiative? Just so I can remember it, who's first in initiative? Is it Landon?
[02:07:35] Speaker D: No, I rolled a 12 like you.
[02:07:39] Speaker A: What did Craig get?
[02:07:41] Speaker C: You said 15, I think 15.
[02:07:43] Speaker A: So it's Craig.
Tello, me, Greta. But we don't know where the other thing is. But that's our order.
[02:07:57] Speaker C: Yeah.
[02:07:58] Speaker A: Okay.
[02:08:00] Speaker D: Tello, Craig, Boss. Ro, Greta. Basically, yes.
Okay.
[02:08:10] Speaker A: Yeah, we're doing a trial. Do you think we're. He said we can strategize. Are we working together on this, or are we each getting something to fight?
[02:08:19] Speaker D: No matter what?
[02:08:20] Speaker B: Are we working together or are we fighting each other?
[02:08:22] Speaker A: I don't mean are we fighting each other. I just mean, mean, like, are they putting five. Like, would they put five monsters, one in front of each of us and put us each in a glass box?
[02:08:32] Speaker D: No, this is not gorgeous.
[02:08:36] Speaker B: Beautiful segue to the map, if you guys will look at that.
[02:08:40] Speaker A: Oh, yeah.
[02:08:44] Speaker B: Stick to point with. That would be so sweet.
[02:08:46] Speaker A: For a second, I thought the throne.
[02:08:48] Speaker C: Oh, he's going.
[02:08:51] Speaker B: You can. Phenomenal. Okay, what's going to happen next is I'm going to say some vital information and if you don't hear it, you don't hear it. So right here, these are you guys in front of the pool of water to me, too.
[02:09:02] Speaker A: What?
[02:09:05] Speaker D: I have my notes up.
[02:09:08] Speaker A: What notes?
[02:09:10] Speaker B: So the yellow one right there is Tello. This purple one is Greta. No, Row. This red one is Boz.
[02:09:16] Speaker D: All right.
[02:09:17] Speaker B: The blue one is Craig. The green one is Greta. And then these are the six thrones in front of you. So this is the massive platform floating 650ft in the sky. This is the pool of water in the center.
It's light blue. It has a swirling depth that seems to spin in the middle. Deep down, you haven't seen more of it. These six thrones right over here on this side is Kitsiyigi. This is Thuras. This is somebody. This is an empty throne. This is somebody. This is Yalaktan. Still don't know the names of the other two.
When Thuras says, will you accept a challenge? And you all say yes. The following happens right here on this side.
Okay? Yes. I have this right over here where I have this black marker. If you look to the laser appears in Sort of a burst of green mist. This tall, thin lies to the lithest. Live, live, live, live. Okay.
The most thin, most exaggerated creature. It is a mantis humanoid.
It has these long arching. There is another thing.
[02:10:29] Speaker D: Can we. Can we. Can we role play all of a sudden about seeing the mantis as I get this thing?
[02:10:33] Speaker B: Yes. And you do that now. As I could.
[02:10:35] Speaker A: Man piss.
That was my role playing of manta.
[02:10:42] Speaker B: That was really good. You offered something to the listeners just then.
[02:10:46] Speaker A: I know. I'm the experience there. I'm great.
[02:10:49] Speaker C: My favorite part of. Of these sessions is when Landon goes. Oh, stink bug.
That is. I'm so sorry.
[02:10:57] Speaker A: Can we make it a giant stink bug instead of a giant mant.
[02:11:01] Speaker C: Oh, I like the mantis at the.
[02:11:04] Speaker B: End of the campaign.
[02:11:05] Speaker A: Oh, dang it. I didn't mean to spoil that for everyone. I'm sorry.
[02:11:08] Speaker B: One of these days he'll learn about a bug zapper, but he's not ready for that yet.
[02:11:14] Speaker A: But would that help us actually just bugs?
[02:11:16] Speaker B: Yes.
[02:11:17] Speaker A: How does that work?
[02:11:18] Speaker B: But anywho.
And then they quit being alive. So I know that the creature is tall and live. And it's. It's got this brilliant emerald carapace, this thousand sectioned eye. Its chest bows out into this broad frame. It has these two insectile wings and these arching, branching kind of ear like structures coming off of its head. In its hands are two very long thin gold rapiers in either hand. And I'm going to send an image and Lauren reference now.
[02:11:49] Speaker C: Pretty darn cool. I don't want to fight it. It's really cool.
[02:11:53] Speaker D: Oh, it's like a night. I love that, Zachary. That is so cool.
[02:11:59] Speaker B: These things are gonna be hard once using some source material.
[02:12:03] Speaker A: Every artwork you're showing us is like. I'm just like. That would be a really dope tattoo if someone wanted that.
[02:12:09] Speaker B: Yeah. Well, today. Get it. And this is a good day to be a patron because I'm gonna. If I remember, I'll upload all these later.
Shout out to if you're a DM out there. Strongholds and Followers by oh my goodness, what's His Name is a phenomenal book.
So same guy who made the Illbringers. Anywho, appearing on the other side where you all can see this white tile marker in sort of like a burst of flower petals is this tall, exaggeratedly a elf. Pale skin, white long hair, incredibly long ears, very lithe figure. Again, his armor is a series of leaf long leaves laid over each other. The collar of this exaggerated mantle blooms out into flower Petals. And in his hand is a restrained massive longbow quilled and dipped in flower petals coming away from him. And I'm going to send his image in lore in reference. Now just the faest. Faest. Fae thing that ever fade. And then lastly, in the middle of your ship, you see where I'm pointing to? That marker appears.
There's this of dust. And rising up out of it is another. What? What could it be? It's lithe. They're all lithe. Cuz fay means skinny apparently.
It is a lithe darkly brown armored full plate knight. The limbs are thin and in the central hand is this brilliant white gleaming inwardly hollow and blue lit sword like one contiguous piece of sharpened stone.
The figure is wearing this long tattered cape of this dull brown. That's all one. One continuous piece of fabric that is like crunched and broken. Falls away into dust at its edges. And the figure's head sits in beneath the high metal collar of the armor that comes off the shoulders so you can only see above the eye. The face is sallowed and dried like a skull. There are two blue motes of eyes in the eye socket. And the head dissolves away into a plume of ash that rises up away from it. I'm going to send an image and lore in reference now.
These are the three enemies who stand before you.
[02:14:34] Speaker D: He looks at them with respect and does a very short like bow. Like, almost like. Like a duel. Like.
[02:14:43] Speaker B: As Boz bows in his dual stance. All three figures. The Mantis Knight stands with both arm with both blades pointed downward. The orchid count just has the bow strung and the Ash marshall is holding the sword in the way of the picture. And all three figures just bow simultaneously with bonds.
And then I do a little nod.
[02:15:06] Speaker D: They're gonna go first already because they're speedy boys. They're like a light today, wild guy.
[02:15:12] Speaker B: Yeah, y'all lost? Oh man.
And with that we're gonna start with the Ash marshal.
[02:15:24] Speaker A: He's. Yeah, he's.
[02:15:27] Speaker B: Let's see. Okay, I wrote down strategy notes about them. Yes.
He stands resolute and his eyes look to Ro.
[02:15:42] Speaker A: Oh, hi.
[02:15:46] Speaker B: And actually no.
[02:15:49] Speaker A: Who would he if we weren't in combat right now?
What's up?
[02:15:55] Speaker B: Yes. Yeah. He'll look at Boz and this reedy, thin, hollow voice will just say.
And as his eyes flare and his swords flash. Boss, could you give me a charisma saving though?
[02:16:11] Speaker D: Yeah, I think Craig actually has a bonus. I get a plus two to saving throw since I'm next to him. You said charisma that is correct, yes.
[02:16:23] Speaker B: Is that. Wait, that's his aura of courage from.
[02:16:26] Speaker D: Within 10ft of him. And I was standing next to him, I thought. Because I said I was trying to be close to his aura of courage.
[02:16:31] Speaker B: No, no, no, no. You are exactly correct because he is blue and you are red, so you're right next to him.
[02:16:38] Speaker D: Yeah. Okay, so. Or of course, courage plus two bonus to saving throws or protection.
[02:16:44] Speaker B: Sorry.
[02:16:44] Speaker D: All right, so I'm going to go ahead, just roll the D20 and stop.
[02:16:45] Speaker B: My level party is pretty dope, man.
[02:16:50] Speaker D: I. It's combat, so I get a. You said charisma, so that is a plus one, that is a 10, and then a plus two. That is a 12.
Okay. I don't. Tell me what the result is, Zachary, cuz I'm trying to decide if I.
[02:17:09] Speaker B: Want to do something, sir. Oh, also, Landon, thank you so much for saying that. Yes, that is how those D20s will be working when you need to use them. If you use them, you are going to add them onto a roll for something you don't know the result of yet. Thank you so much for clarifying, Landon.
[02:17:26] Speaker A: Sick.
[02:17:29] Speaker D: I'm. I'm going to go ahead and do it, cuz Boz is the kind of guy that has to get started rolling early, and if he doesn't start get rolling, he's going to be behind.
Oh, man, I might regret this, but I might not.
I'm going to roll my D20. Baric inspiration.
[02:17:45] Speaker B: Watch him roll a one.
[02:17:46] Speaker D: I have a 13.
[02:17:47] Speaker A: Let's freaking go, boss. I'm giving you.
[02:17:50] Speaker D: I got an 18.
So 13 plus.
[02:17:56] Speaker B: What does that mean? Your roll total is.
[02:17:59] Speaker D: My roll total is 31.
[02:18:07] Speaker B: Boz.
The voice echoes and bounces around in your head and in your ears and as you sort of. What you all watch is as the voice wavers over Boz, Boz turns over away from the enemies and looks to Ro next to him with this sort of aggressive look on his face before the cat lord from his throne. I mean, I'm leaning too hard into the cat thing. He looks like a lot of mammals before his claws just flex slightly and his pupils dilate and there's just this amber like flourish in Boz's eyes before he blinks and snaps out of it. And you are not dominated, Boz.
So what is it that you do instead of being dominated at the beginning of the turn? Is it. No. Excuse me? No, that's just. No, it's not your turn. Oh, what about.
Okay, but that was a huge save.
Very cool.
Okay, well, Then in that case, what's he gonna do?
He's just going to close some distance.
So after it doesn't work. Boss. He just lowers the sword to his side and he strides.
And each of his steps don't sound like the crunch of armor. They sound like.
And wherever he steps, Ash falls away from him. And he just strides calmly toward Greta with the sword lowered at his side.
And that is going to be his turn because he took a really big swing at that and missed. That is a phenomenal start to this fight for y'all. Now it is the Mantis Knight's turn.
Wow. It's so nice to just go to a source material. I should do this sometimes.
[02:20:03] Speaker D: So glad I used my bardic inspiration.
[02:20:07] Speaker B: Good call.
The Mantis Knight is gonna do something really unexpected and he's gonna rush in and start swinging on people.
Yeah. So, Greta.
The next moment's awful because he just.
[02:20:36] Speaker C: Which dot are you saying I am? I'm the green dot.
[02:20:41] Speaker B: Scusin'ro the next moment's awful. The speed at which, like an insect. Just the coiled tendons behind tight muscles that only invertebrates of the animal kingdom have allow him to just.
And is that sound. It's like a. And he is just. There's a flash of green and he is in your face. The mouth parts of the chelicerae just moving apart. And as they move apart, he pulls out two rapiers.
[02:21:08] Speaker D: Huh?
[02:21:08] Speaker B: Rapiers. And there is just this flurry of quick jabs with the rapiers.
[02:21:16] Speaker A: Sick.
[02:21:17] Speaker B: A weapon you purport to use. And he's going to start by making two attacks on you.
Wow. I rolled a two and a four.
[02:21:30] Speaker A: But you probably have a huge.
[02:21:31] Speaker D: You know he has a plus 15.
[02:21:32] Speaker A: Yeah. So it don't matter.
[02:21:34] Speaker B: What's your AC, bro?
[02:21:36] Speaker A: 13.
[02:21:39] Speaker B: Okay. I miss with both.
[02:21:44] Speaker D: She does know how to stay set from the orphanage.
[02:21:46] Speaker A: I do know, guys.
[02:21:48] Speaker B: I was a nice orphan. Seraphin And Ro, as he descends upon you, you react and instinctually pull the rapier from your side and you.
And as you parry them away, there's a moment where you just go.
And everyone watches Parry. This Fae being who stops, clicks the chillis ray and then resumes with two more attacks.
Of course that will hit.
And that will hit. Yeah.
[02:22:20] Speaker A: I got too excited is what happened.
[02:22:23] Speaker B: But wasn't that a really cool moment?
[02:22:25] Speaker A: She got too excited.
[02:22:27] Speaker B: You got him to take you a lot more seriously.
Oops.
Okay.
Oops. Okay.
4 is 9. 7 plus 4 is 11. Ro, you take 20 points of piercing damage as there are just two really quick jabs, and one catches you under the armpit, just misses your artery and just sort of pokes all the way through your lat out the back, just owie. And then the other. The other catches a notch in between the sections of your armor in your inner thigh. Just jabs. You win some pain.
[02:23:08] Speaker A: Not.
[02:23:09] Speaker B: That is the man's. Nice turn. Next up, initiative. What's up, Craig? It's your turn.
[02:23:15] Speaker D: Three fay guys. That went first, Zach.
[02:23:17] Speaker A: Oh, yeah.
[02:23:19] Speaker B: Well, it's not.
But before Craig.
[02:23:23] Speaker D: Hello's. Before Craig.
[02:23:25] Speaker C: Yeah, tell.
[02:23:26] Speaker A: No, no, it's Craig. Then tell.
[02:23:28] Speaker B: I don't mean brag, but I have a pretty good initiative.
[02:23:31] Speaker D: No, no, no, I. I've sworn. Sorry, I misunderstood. That is me.
[02:23:34] Speaker B: All right, Craig got a 13. Teller got a 13.
[02:23:37] Speaker D: All right, Zach, I am looking at handwritten notes on a computer screen that is. You are a little bit difficult.
[02:23:43] Speaker B: It's up to you both to interpret it.
[02:23:45] Speaker D: Choice is to say, I think Craig would probably pull out Star Splinter.
And which one would he attack? Let me look at the map. Craig is right next to me, right?
Okay.
[02:24:03] Speaker B: Close in on the Ash Marshall. He could also go after the orchid. Count at the side.
[02:24:07] Speaker D: He's gonna go after the orchid because he's gonna want to protect Roe.
[02:24:11] Speaker B: Well, do you mean the mantis knight on the other side?
[02:24:14] Speaker D: The mantis knight. Is he next? The mantis knight. I'm having a hard time understanding.
[02:24:18] Speaker B: I should do a bunch of clarifying. Sorry. Forgive me. Also, remember, you can click on that screen and maximize it to be the largest thing. So this is blue. That's Craig right here.
And the mantis knight is over here with television.
[02:24:31] Speaker D: Oh, so Craig is blue, and Mantis is right here, right?
[02:24:36] Speaker B: Yeah. And then the orchid. The orchid counts over here. The Ash Marshall is right here.
[02:24:40] Speaker D: Oh, okay, Craig.
[02:24:44] Speaker B: It's confusing when you're not physically.
[02:24:45] Speaker D: Who's the right of Craig? Is it Ro? Is it Greta?
[02:24:50] Speaker A: Yes.
[02:24:50] Speaker B: Red is the green here on the tail end.
[02:24:53] Speaker D: All right, so Craig is not going to go over to Roe because I think he's going to look over at boss and be like, hey, you gotta. You gotta handle your crap over there. He is going to move next to the Void Marshall guy, whatever he's called, okay? And he's gonna whack him with Star Splinter. And I don't know how smites work exactly. Zachary. So you're gonna have to help me because he's gonna smite him as hard as he can if he hits.
How do I have my hand was.
[02:25:22] Speaker B: Your back, I'd got it Did I move him to the right place?
[02:25:25] Speaker D: All right.
[02:25:27] Speaker B: Did I move him to the right place? You did.
[02:25:31] Speaker D: Yeah. Yeah.
[02:25:31] Speaker B: A smite is a bonus action on your turn. So before you take your attack action, you, bonus action key up yours. And when you hit, you use it.
[02:25:39] Speaker D: I thought you could do it once you get confirmation that you hit. Right. Oh, like, you don't waste this might.
[02:25:46] Speaker B: Yeah. Yes.
Now, okay, DMs rule differently on this, but that is absolutely the rule at my table, so. At our table. Yes. So you will to hit, and if you hit, you can be like, okay, bonus action smite.
[02:26:00] Speaker D: Yeah, right. Craig's gonna walk over. He has a plus nine and a plus one. Micah wrote, I don't know where the plus one comes from, but I assume it's correct.
[02:26:08] Speaker B: That's.
Yeah, it's really. It's honestly pretty challenging to decipher. Here is what I can understand from this.
I mean, Craig's.
I think what it is is that he has a plus five to strength and a plus four to proficiency bonus. And then star splinters a plus one. So it's a plus 10. Oh, why not just right plus 10? I couldn't tell you, but yes. Okay.
[02:26:31] Speaker D: All right. So Craig's gonna roll. Craig got a 19.
Does he crit on a 19? Does he have that feat, or is that not him? Yeah, on the ash mark.
[02:26:41] Speaker B: What a. What a important question.
[02:26:44] Speaker D: I don't know if he has that.
[02:26:46] Speaker B: That's just fighters and barbarians. But I'm gonna look that up really quick while you start rolling dice.
[02:26:51] Speaker D: All right, so he's gonna roll.
[02:26:53] Speaker B: 19 will not hit.
[02:26:55] Speaker D: A 19 will not hit.
[02:26:58] Speaker B: A 19 Will not hit. Wow.
[02:27:01] Speaker D: Okay.
Craig misses.
[02:27:05] Speaker B: And as Craig pulls out star splinter and slashes with it, the ash marshal, who's been walking, walking calmly, looks away from ro, turns his head quickly and just parries the strike with his own blade.
[02:27:17] Speaker D: Oh, my gosh.
[02:27:21] Speaker A: Wait. The ash Marshall was also coming towards me. Now they're. All right.
[02:27:28] Speaker B: You're in a bad spot. Yep. You're in a bad spot.
[02:27:30] Speaker A: Why don't they like me what I do to them?
[02:27:33] Speaker B: Sucks to be you don't have improved critical. So you do not crit on 19th.
[02:27:39] Speaker D: Reg is going to attack again.
Dang. A plus 10 to hit. Didn't hit.
That is a 26 to hit. I really hope that one hits.
[02:27:50] Speaker B: 26 shall hit.
[02:27:52] Speaker D: All right.
[02:27:53] Speaker B: That doesn't hurt.
[02:27:55] Speaker D: All right, so Craig is gonna pump up. How hard is a divine smite? It looks like Micah hat a divine smith smite. Can you upcast It.
[02:28:04] Speaker B: You can upcast now. She doesn't upcast it for reasons I've never understood. But you can, and that's where it does more damage.
[02:28:11] Speaker D: Right, so Craig is going to upcast Divine Smite to the third level.
[02:28:16] Speaker B: Sorry, I'm not trying to slander Micah while she's not here. Just what level is he casting at?
[02:28:26] Speaker D: Third level.
Okay, so that is an extra 2D8.
[02:28:33] Speaker B: Yes.
[02:28:33] Speaker D: So it's 4D8 and then takes an extra 1D8. Right. He has improved Divine Smite, which takes an extra 1D radiant damage. Is that per level or is that just. That's on top flat.
[02:28:46] Speaker B: No, no, just on top. That would be insane. But it means. It means that he's got a 5D8 bonus of Radiant damage.
[02:28:52] Speaker D: Okay, 5D8 bonus Radiant damage. So I'm going to go ahead and roll.
[02:28:55] Speaker B: Nobody, Rogues and Paladins nobody can do as much damage as Rogues and Paladins.
[02:28:59] Speaker D: All right, so he rolls or 5D8, right? Yeah, 5D8.
[02:29:17] Speaker B: This is why Paladin Crits can get so crazy.
[02:29:24] Speaker D: All right, so he rolled 26 total, which is not bad. No, roll was less than 4.
And so then he's gonna also add.
Why does it say 1d6 plus 1d6? That's just his regular damage, right?
[02:29:42] Speaker B: Yes. Yes.
[02:29:43] Speaker D: So that is.
Now I understand the panics that you guys feel every time you have to roll multiple times.
[02:29:51] Speaker B: Oh my gosh. Melee classes can be complicated. I mean, there is a curve to them. It's the one curve to learn, but.
[02:29:57] Speaker D: It'S a big curve plus one. Is there anything else that will give him damage?
[02:30:03] Speaker B: It should be 5d8 plus 2d6 plus 1.
[02:30:06] Speaker D: All right. He deals 38 points of damage.
[02:30:10] Speaker C: Wow.
[02:30:10] Speaker B: Hot dang.
[02:30:13] Speaker D: Does he have Healing Word?
Yes, actually, I don't think he does have it prepared.
[02:30:21] Speaker B: Okay.
[02:30:22] Speaker D: I'm trying to see if he can do anything with the bonus action.
[02:30:24] Speaker A: Zachary Paladins. It's not like preparing like how Druids do. I think Micah took healing word. I think he always has it if he has a spell slot available.
[02:30:34] Speaker B: It it be it. Let me check really quick. Landon, let me check. It could be part of his subass.
[02:30:40] Speaker D: Okay, Sorry guys, cuz I. I know.
[02:30:44] Speaker A: That Mike has used it.
[02:30:46] Speaker B: And also in your defense, Landon, again, I'm not rag on a mic at all. Her. Her method of character cheating is certainly confuses me.
That doesn't mean it's confusing, but I am confused by it.
[02:31:03] Speaker D: Is lay on hands a bonus action?
[02:31:08] Speaker B: Probably not, because it's so powerful.
[02:31:11] Speaker D: But as an action. Yeah, as an action.
[02:31:13] Speaker B: Well, you used your bonus action.
[02:31:15] Speaker D: Oh, you're right.
[02:31:16] Speaker B: You're right.
[02:31:16] Speaker D: Though I did use my bonus action. So that is Craig's turn.
[02:31:25] Speaker B: Hey, that's the most confusing thing I've ever seen.
[02:31:29] Speaker D: What?
[02:31:29] Speaker B: I solved that on my own at break. Micah's character sheet says Oath of Devotion.
And where some of her features look like they come from the Oath of devotion subclass.
[02:31:44] Speaker D: She doesn't have the.
[02:31:45] Speaker B: Craig's subclass.
[02:31:46] Speaker D: I guess we'll figure it out is.
[02:31:47] Speaker B: The Oath of Reformation from the Deep Magic thing.
So that's. We'll come to that later. That's not a right now problem.
[02:32:05] Speaker D: Not angry.
[02:32:06] Speaker B: Every form.
After the. After the second blade is deflected away, the Ash Marshall moves his hand back to Perry and Craig takes his shield, bats it to the side. Star Splinter lights up with blue light. And as he shouts his eyes. Eyes flash gold tongues. The Deep Magic come out. And he just plunges the blade forward in the chest. And as the metal crunches in and Ash falls, doesn't make any sound, as if feeling no pain, but certainly seems damaged. Next initiative is Tello.
Abby physically cringed with pain.
[02:32:51] Speaker C: Okay.
Oh, cool. So normal.
Okay, tell us the yellow dot. Tell is yellow.
Okay. He can't really hide, can he? I don't see a place that he can hide.
[02:33:12] Speaker A: He can jump in that water and see what happens. I'm just kidding.
[02:33:15] Speaker C: I'm a little afraid of that water.
[02:33:17] Speaker A: No, I agree. I don't. Listen to me. That was a joke.
[02:33:22] Speaker C: Okay, he is going to.
How tall is that water thing?
Thing off the ground.
[02:33:37] Speaker B: Level with the ground. The pool of water.
[02:33:39] Speaker C: Okay, cool, cool. So no place to hide. Not great.
Yeah, he's gonna pull out his.
Okay, he's gonna pull out his rapier.
[02:33:53] Speaker B: Oh.
[02:33:54] Speaker C: Oh, and who's that little. Who's the purple. The big purple dog?
No, no, no, the big one.
[02:34:07] Speaker A: Oh, the big one.
[02:34:07] Speaker B: The big blind spike.
[02:34:10] Speaker C: Okay. Little Jeepers dm.
Is it a bonus action to throw a potion.
[02:34:23] Speaker B: To in our campaign? Throw. Well, okay. In our campaign, drinking a potion for your. Administering a potion to someone else is an action.
Throwing a potion we've never nailed down.
But I'm feeling zesty, so, yeah. Yes. Right this moment, throwing a potion is a bonus action.
[02:34:52] Speaker C: Hey, cool.
[02:34:55] Speaker B: Okay.
Fascinating.
[02:35:04] Speaker C: I'm just thinking, okay, he's gonna.
Can he jump over? No, I don't want to do.
[02:35:13] Speaker B: Now you're thinking.
[02:35:19] Speaker C: Okay, we are going to.
[02:35:24] Speaker B: Do it. Do it.
[02:35:26] Speaker C: He's going to attack the Mantis Man.
With his right beer.
[02:35:34] Speaker B: In the flurry of rapiers going on over here, Tello goes, I knew you had to. Pulls out his rapier that you've never seen. I mean, he's actually wrote. He's practical times, even though nobody believes you. But. And he trains with Craig with it sometimes, but you've never seen him use it. Lunges forward with it. What did he get to hit?
[02:35:53] Speaker C: Oh, I didn't roll.
[02:35:55] Speaker B: Yeah. D20 plus efficiency.
[02:36:05] Speaker C: Hey, can't use bardic inspiration on.
[02:36:10] Speaker B: You can have 220 right now. Yeah, yeah, you could use.
[02:36:14] Speaker C: Yeah, I'm gonna do that. I'm gonna do that.
Yes.
Hey, so I added on. Wait. Okay, okay.
I rolled a one, but then I rolled a five.
So is that five or is that six, or is that just nothing?
[02:36:39] Speaker B: Well, if I had known it was a NAT one, that were two things, because NAT ones at our table are NAT ones. Except that I can do the specialty 20 rule. So we're gonna roll with it this evening.
So it lost. Now 6 plus. What is his proficiency bonus is 4. His dex is 3, so that should be 7 plus 6, which I believe is 13.
[02:37:02] Speaker C: Evan is a 13 hit.
[02:37:09] Speaker B: Tello goes, I knew you. I didn't you wrong. And he pulls out his. His. His rapier and he goes, you're screwed, bug man. And then he lunges forward and the mantis knight just parries it and looks at him and he goes. I mean.
And that's Tell's turn next.
[02:37:24] Speaker C: Okay, wait, I have more things.
[02:37:25] Speaker B: I have more things. Yep, yep. And then Tell's going to.
[02:37:29] Speaker C: He's going to cunning action. Bonus action. Disengage.
[02:37:35] Speaker B: Oh, sick.
[02:37:37] Speaker C: Cool. And I'm going to think five, ten.
[02:37:42] Speaker B: That's really cool.
[02:37:45] Speaker C: Okay, he's going to go around the back of the fountain as close as he can to this white guy.
He is 35 speed.
[02:37:59] Speaker A: A white man.
[02:38:03] Speaker B: So Tello. Tell. Tell goes. He goes, yo, screwed, bug guy. He lunges. The mantis knight just immediately parries. And then Tell goes.
And he, like, faints like he's gonna. Like he's gonna strike again. And as the mansion's knight goes to parry, he just goes. And he turns around and just runs. Just runs away and runs around the fountain.
Okay, amazing.
I assume that's his turn.
[02:38:27] Speaker C: Yeah, that's all he's got.
[02:38:30] Speaker B: Next up, initiative is boss. What are you doing, boss?
[02:38:33] Speaker D: Boz is going to cast obdurate on himself.
Oh, I still got it prepared, buddy. And it's not concentration.
[02:38:43] Speaker B: Oh, I love that spell.
[02:38:45] Speaker D: So thanks for that, Zach.
So that is his action.
[02:38:51] Speaker B: Describe that for us, Landon. That's a huge spell. That's your.
[02:38:56] Speaker D: No, it's a third level spell.
[02:38:59] Speaker B: Oh. Oh, I'm thinking the wrong one. Sorry.
[02:39:01] Speaker D: Yeah.
Buys. You know how the staff. You used to glow a little bit when he used to cast spells? Well, now the little flecks of it in his, like, skin kind of glows as he kind of like takes his fist and like bumps it on his chest.
And then it has built a phantom in it. And as he pulls it away, like, Phantom comes off like a lightsaber.
[02:39:23] Speaker B: Oh, Bl. From his throne, Yelik Tenant just smiles.
[02:39:30] Speaker D: And then he is going to cast vicious mockery on the Orchid Knight because.
[02:39:37] Speaker B: He could do it as. Oh, dude. Awesome. So Boz obdurates himself, and then he just pulls Phantom away. The metal hilt without the blade just turns into that white mist blade. And as it pulls to the side, you notice, well, Greta and rogue, with your 20 passive perceptions, in the middle of combat, somehow you notice two or three of the of the archfray bump their eyebrows. When Boz pulls out Phantom, that blade seems recognizable to them for some reason. And then Boz, how do you vicious as. As he pulls his blade away in the little toes of his shoes go?
How do you vicious mockery the Mantis Knight?
[02:40:16] Speaker D: Not the Mantis Knight. The orchid. The bow guy.
[02:40:18] Speaker B: The orchid Count. Sorry. How do you viciously mock him?
[02:40:21] Speaker D: I look at him and. And I say.
I just. I say, you're too slow. Which is what Sonic says in Super Smash Brothers ultimate. When he. When you can't catch him, the orchid.
[02:40:34] Speaker B: Knight is like drawing an arrow, aiming it at Greta. And as you say that, he goes and just like, like sniffles a little and goes back to aiming at Greta like, you really hurt his wisdom. Saving throw. Gotcha.
[02:40:48] Speaker D: Yeah. It has to be at an 18.
[02:40:52] Speaker B: That's. Well, that's not a good.
That's an 8.
So as you yell, you're too slow, he just goes, yes.
And a little tear rolls down his cheek. And how much damage does he take?
[02:41:09] Speaker D: He takes 44. So that is one, man. That's total three.
Total four.
Total eight. Eight damage. And he has disadvantage on his. On the next attack. He does.
[02:41:27] Speaker B: Incredible. That's so awesome.
All right, that's boss's amazing turn, bro. You're up next.
Jackie just took a shot and she wasn't ready for it. Ro, you're up. It's your turn.
[02:41:43] Speaker A: I'm so sorry.
I was trying.
[02:41:47] Speaker B: The bummer is that Jackie thought her mom was offering her whiskey. And it was actually absinthe.
[02:41:51] Speaker A: No, it wasn't whiskey. It was a neon green Midori. I think it's melon liqueur. We're trying to make a Beetlejuice drink for my birthday, and it tastes kind of like medicine. But anyways, I know what I'm doing, even though I just took a shot of melon Liquor court.
[02:42:08] Speaker B: And that's a real. That's a professional.
[02:42:11] Speaker A: It's a green bottle, so, you know, it was an honor.
So row is going.
Okay, Tello's right in front of row. Correct.
[02:42:23] Speaker B: But to the tell.
[02:42:26] Speaker A: Oh, wait, no tell.
[02:42:27] Speaker B: 20Ft away from row.
[02:42:28] Speaker A: Sorry, I was getting confused by the yellow dots.
So that's Mantis man right in front of me.
[02:42:35] Speaker B: Correct on the cord. Yes. Mantis man and Ash Marshall are, like, pincering you.
[02:42:41] Speaker A: Yeah. Okay.
[02:42:43] Speaker C: She's not flanked, though, right?
[02:42:47] Speaker B: No, but she's almost.
[02:42:49] Speaker A: I almost am. Yeah. I'm going to turn some.
[02:42:51] Speaker B: You know what? I hadn't thought about that.
[02:42:54] Speaker A: Anyhow, I'm gonna turn to Mantis man because he came after me first, and I am gonna heath my. My rapier real quick and swing around.
Maybe it did get to me. I don't know. I can't remember words. Song splitter. Thank you.
[02:43:20] Speaker B: As you like whip it around, there's a little disorder.
[02:43:26] Speaker A: And I'm going to cast shatter on him at the fifth level.
[02:43:36] Speaker B: Oh, okay, let's do this.
[02:43:40] Speaker A: And it's when I play it, I haven't rolled yet, but when I.
[02:43:44] Speaker B: It's a con.
[02:43:44] Speaker A: They have to roll. Yes, that is correct.
But when I play it, you got a 20, which means they'll take half damage because my spell save DC is 17, so.
But I just wanted to say, when I play it, it sounds like a very metal version of the. You know, the, you know.
[02:44:19] Speaker B: Oh, like, it's like.
Yeah, yeah, it's dope. Inexplicably, somewhere nearby, there's like a double bass going.
Let's know about that damage, girly.
[02:44:39] Speaker A: Okay, so that is going to be 24, so half of 24.
So still not horrible.
[02:45:01] Speaker B: No, it's not. I mean, for having him saved, that's a lot of damage. The. The wave burst out and he, like, hunches down and shudders and a couple of his shell back a little. A little blood comes out from beneath them, but quite a bit. It seems like these individuals might be equipped to resist magic. He had advantage on that saving throw.
[02:45:25] Speaker A: I had a feeling since their faith. But what I. What I did want to do with That I got thrown off. But when I play that, I'd like. I would have, like. If you'll let me retroactively do this.
Use my arcane inspiration to help out. Who's the closest next to me?
Boz.
And so for the next hour, Boz will gain advantage on their next saving throw against a spell or magical effect.
And I'll mark that off my sheet, but I used that. So when I started playing the music, Boz heard that and got that inspiration.
[02:46:19] Speaker D: I have inspiration.
[02:46:21] Speaker A: No, it's just called arcane inspiration.
[02:46:23] Speaker D: It's part of my saving throw.
[02:46:26] Speaker A: Yeah, that's what it is. But it's called.
[02:46:28] Speaker D: It's basically inspiration for a magical effect. Saving throw.
[02:46:30] Speaker A: Yeah.
[02:46:31] Speaker D: Makes sense.
[02:46:34] Speaker B: So a limited inspiration. Yes.
[02:46:37] Speaker A: Yes.
[02:46:39] Speaker B: Dope.
Really Cool. Is that your turn?
[02:46:45] Speaker A: Yeah. Because if I move any way, it's. They're gonna have opportunity attacks. Both of them.
[02:46:51] Speaker B: Right.
[02:46:52] Speaker D: Oh.
[02:46:52] Speaker B: Next of initiative is.
[02:46:56] Speaker D: Can I ask a question before you go? The next initiative, the standard dominate person spell, if you're fighting the person that you're trying to dominate, you have the person trying to. That is being dominated has advantage on the saving throw. I just wanted. I just wanted to confirm if that was the same case.
[02:47:12] Speaker B: That is very importantly.
No, that's true.
[02:47:17] Speaker D: Well, just in case somebody knows that and doesn't have to use up their bardic inspiration from cat man.
[02:47:22] Speaker B: Here's.
Here's where.
Because in a really weird reason after the session, they're not casting dominate person. Really weird thing.
They're casting dominate monster. And it works for. For some reason.
No. Still has advantage.
[02:47:48] Speaker D: Still has advantage.
[02:47:48] Speaker B: Okay. So thank you, Landon. That is a super helpful rule. Check. Yes. If this gets used on anyone, again, they have advantage. Thank you, Landon. That's very helpful.
What were we saying?
Next up is the orchid knight.
So having had his feelings very recently hurt by Boz.
[02:48:16] Speaker C: Okay.
[02:48:16] Speaker B: Yes. What's heavy? Higher than you.
So, Boz, you got to his feelings so much that he just.
Just pulls the air out, puts it back in the quiver, and puts the longbow back. He's not firing the bow. You really hurt his feelings.
And instead he.
[02:48:38] Speaker D: Oh, no.
[02:48:40] Speaker B: Unsheathes a rapier.
Yeah. So he is going to use his movement dart up toward Greta, and he's going to make three rapier attacks. Three?
[02:49:03] Speaker C: Like, more than one.
[02:49:04] Speaker D: One's at disadvantage.
[02:49:06] Speaker B: The first one's a disadvantage. True.
They were both two really good moles. What's your AC, Greta?
[02:49:14] Speaker C: Sixteen.
[02:49:17] Speaker B: Okay. So the first one hits.
Second one's a NAT one.
Third one hits.
So there's gonna be eight plus ten. Eighteen points of piercing damage. Greta. As he just bolts up. And what does it look like is as the first one misses. How does. How does the first one miss?
[02:49:46] Speaker C: He's attacked me with the right beer.
Say that she's, like, hunched. Greta's like, hunched down, like, looking like a feral animal with her cloak.
I want to, like, if I can. Like, her hair is, like, floating. And so when he flashes at her, she just, like, kind of ducks. And she, like, maneuvers in a way that he thinks he's aiming at her, but he just gets, like, the corner of her cloak.
[02:50:14] Speaker B: That's awesome.
[02:50:15] Speaker C: She's just like. She's just a big mass of hair and cloak and fur. So he just shifts in the road.
[02:50:20] Speaker B: Fur, not fur, not. No. Greta was furred.
As the first rapier slash just catches the side of your cloak.
The immediate movements after jab you. The first one gets you in the shoulder, the next one in the leg. Just two really quick stabs. 18 points of piercing damage.
[02:50:38] Speaker C: Okay, thank you.
[02:50:41] Speaker B: And that is the Orchid count's turn. Now we go to Gretol.
[02:50:45] Speaker C: It's a whole action to disengage.
[02:50:49] Speaker B: That is an action to disengage. I. Disengaging may or may not be the move. You don't know.
[02:50:58] Speaker C: Okay, fine.
No, I'm gonna. Okay, Slaps.
Okay, I'm gonna. So does he get. Would I know if he gets all three attacks if I disengage?
[02:51:19] Speaker B: No, you do not know the enemy characters. Stat block.
[02:51:22] Speaker C: Okay, well, I was just curious.
[02:51:27] Speaker B: Okay, well, I wanted to ask, so. Shut up. Dm.
[02:51:31] Speaker D: That was a Seth roll.
[02:51:34] Speaker B: I wasn't gonna say anything if I.
[02:51:37] Speaker C: Was going to ask a spell with a 15 foot range, I wouldn't be able to get that. The guy on the end. Right.
[02:51:48] Speaker B: I wonder what those words meant.
[02:51:51] Speaker D: She's trying to cast a spell that has a. Is it a radius of 15ft or a diameter?
[02:51:55] Speaker C: Radius.
[02:51:56] Speaker D: Radius. So from where you are right now, are you.
[02:51:59] Speaker B: When you cast it on a point or away from yourself, it's from myself.
So then you would be getting everyone within 15ft of you.
[02:52:11] Speaker C: Got it. But so not that the guy furthest away.
Yeah, because he's just out.
[02:52:16] Speaker B: Tello. Or the Mantis Knight you're talking about.
[02:52:18] Speaker A: No, no, no, no.
[02:52:20] Speaker C: The Mantis Knight.
[02:52:22] Speaker B: Yeah. You would not get the Mantis Knight. You would get the Ash Marshal, the Orchid Knight, Ro Boss and Craig.
[02:52:30] Speaker C: Right, right, right, right.
[02:52:31] Speaker B: Cool.
[02:52:32] Speaker C: Okay, I'm gonna step away one block towards the red guy.
[02:52:39] Speaker D: Zack. Zach.
[02:52:41] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah.
[02:52:45] Speaker D: Can My fairy dragon go after Greta. Because he didn't get a.
[02:52:50] Speaker B: Yes, I'm okay with that.
[02:52:51] Speaker A: Yeah.
[02:52:54] Speaker B: Okay.
[02:52:55] Speaker C: Okay.
[02:52:57] Speaker B: You step away and prompt an attack of opportunity.
That is a 24.
Okay, so we're gonna get another damage done here as you dart away another seven points of piercing damage into the back of your shoulder.
[02:53:15] Speaker C: Okay.
[02:53:16] Speaker B: It's all quick, darting, precise motions.
[02:53:21] Speaker C: Okay, cool. Now I'm gonna cast.
Gosh. Okay, I'm sorry, I'm taking a long time.
I'm gonna cast spirit guardians at the sixth level.
[02:53:39] Speaker B: Oh, I don't.
The sixth level.
Oh, spaghetti.
[02:53:46] Speaker C: Oh, would that be 68?
[02:53:50] Speaker B: Girl, that would be 68.
[02:53:52] Speaker C: Okay.
And he needs to make a.
[02:53:56] Speaker B: Well, that happens on their turns.
They make the saving throws. They make the wisdom saving throw on their turns.
[02:54:05] Speaker C: When the creature enters the area for the first. First time on a turn.
[02:54:12] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah.
[02:54:13] Speaker D: No, no, no, you're right.
[02:54:14] Speaker B: So it'd be immediately on this turn.
[02:54:17] Speaker D: I don't think. I don't think so. I think it's only when they start their turn or if they.
[02:54:20] Speaker B: It is on their turn. Yeah, it's on their turns. I'm very embarrassed cuz I used to DM for this spell constantly. But it's been a long, long time. This was f. Go to.
[02:54:30] Speaker C: So do I roll the damage each time?
[02:54:34] Speaker B: Yes.
[02:54:35] Speaker C: Okay.
[02:54:40] Speaker B: Okay. So Greta, what does it look like? He's just telling your spirit guardians.
[02:54:45] Speaker C: So they're gonna appear. Appear as fay. Because I can choose that. And they're just gonna look like the same. They're gonna look kind of like the same as they did before.
They're gonna be giant Fae, like biblically accurate angels with like. It's just like a thousand eyes. Like a thousand 2D reliefs of an eye just like slicing over and over.
[02:55:17] Speaker B: That is so dope. And so bro, you and Boz and Craig are fighting and then all of a sudden.
And it's taking a little while to get used to the fact that this is now a good thing that's on your side.
Yeah, exactly, Ro.
[02:55:32] Speaker C: And as I do it, I'm going to like, look, I'm going to try and make eye contact with ki. I'm just going to like nod again. Cuz I'm like assuming she knew. But this is a.
[02:55:43] Speaker B: Her face looks enchanted and there's a big smile on it.
[02:55:48] Speaker C: I just want to make sure I'm not missing.
[02:55:53] Speaker B: Next initiative. We go back to the top with the.
[02:55:55] Speaker C: No, we do. We do bosses.
[02:55:58] Speaker B: It's. It's Xalifax right now.
[02:56:03] Speaker D: My Zalifax. Is going to fly around. He's going to hover above the pool, probably 20ft above the air, and he's going to cast minor illusion.
[02:56:15] Speaker B: Okay.
[02:56:16] Speaker D: And he is going to produce the voice of. Of Thoros.
And he is going to yell, scream as loud as he can. Make the voice come from where Thoros is and say basically, like, sorry, I just had a moment where my whole brain just left my building.
He is going to scream as loud as he can and. And basically say like, you fool. Like, go for the. Go for the. Go for the one with the metal.
Go for the strongest. Go for Craig.
[02:56:57] Speaker B: Basically.
[02:56:58] Speaker D: I don't. That's what I'm trying to say is like, go for the armor. Like, go for him.
[02:57:02] Speaker B: Minor illusion can let you cast noise to other locations.
[02:57:06] Speaker D: Yes.
[02:57:07] Speaker B: Okay.
[02:57:09] Speaker D: Minor you can create a sound or image of an object within range, within 30ft that lasts for the duration. The illusion also ends if you dismiss it as an action or cast a spell again. It lasts for one minute.
[02:57:19] Speaker B: Okay, so now all three need to make intelligence saving throws against his spell save. DC.
[02:57:26] Speaker D: Intelligent saving throw. Yes. And the DC is 13. It's charisma save. Charisma save.
[02:57:33] Speaker B: Okay, okay, wait, wait, wait. Succeeds.
[02:57:36] Speaker D: Sorry, sorry, one second. I think it's actually intelligence.
[02:57:39] Speaker B: Well, regardless succeeds.
Then the Orchid Knight.
What's his spell Save DC13.
Okay. Orchid Knight also succeeds. And the Ash Marshall also succeeds.
Sorry.
That's okay. Sometimes we gotta shoot our shot, but.
[02:58:06] Speaker D: Allow it, I think. No, wait, wait, wait. If the DM would allow it. If it pleased the court, I think.
Never mind, never mind.
[02:58:15] Speaker B: Go.
[02:58:15] Speaker D: Never mind.
Okay, I. I withdraw my petition. Yes.
[02:58:22] Speaker A: If it shall please the Sealy.
[02:58:25] Speaker B: The Ash marshal on his turn will.
[02:58:30] Speaker C: Make a saving throw.
[02:58:31] Speaker B: Try to hit you a bunch with. We'll make a saving throw. Girl, you ain't even wrong that gun. Greta, pull up, up.
[02:58:38] Speaker C: Is it more helpful if I remind you at the beginning or the end of the third dm?
[02:58:43] Speaker B: No, no, most. Most helpful at the beginning because that's what it needs to happen. Wisdom save.
[02:58:48] Speaker C: Yes. My spell save is 17.
[02:58:51] Speaker B: Okay, he got a 22.
[02:58:53] Speaker C: Oh, that sucks.
[02:58:56] Speaker B: Damage is damage. Damage is damaged.
[02:58:58] Speaker C: Yeah, I guess.
[02:59:02] Speaker B: Dork.
Did the music stop for anyone else?
[02:59:06] Speaker C: Yeah.
Four.
[02:59:46] Speaker B: You roll. Abby, you roll your dice and then half the damage.
[02:59:50] Speaker C: Oh.
[02:59:56] Speaker B: I mean, technically.
[02:59:57] Speaker D: Her first six is technically correct mathematically, but it is helpful to roll all six.
[03:00:02] Speaker B: Unless. Unless she 18 on the next three.
[03:00:06] Speaker D: Die a little bit higher.
[03:00:07] Speaker B: True.
[03:00:07] Speaker D: No, you're right. You're right.
[03:00:08] Speaker C: Yeah. So 10 total. Nice.
[03:00:12] Speaker B: Really low rolls, but fair enough.
Okay.
[03:00:15] Speaker C: You know, I got like three ones.
[03:00:19] Speaker D: I mean, mathematically, 3D 6 times 1 is the same as 66 times 0.5.
[03:00:25] Speaker C: What?
[03:00:26] Speaker D: Mathematically?
[03:00:28] Speaker B: Yeah, as long as you get the averages.
[03:00:30] Speaker A: But you're chances. Yeah.
[03:00:32] Speaker B: And you're eliminating possibility of just rolling 6, 6, 6 and getting 18 and.
[03:00:36] Speaker D: Being like, oh, wow, that so using gambler's logic. Yeah, but every D6 is the same chance of rolling the same number.
[03:00:44] Speaker B: Right, but you know, we rolled ice around here. Okay.
[03:00:46] Speaker D: It only takes one more hit. You can put it all back. Zach.
[03:00:49] Speaker B: The blurring images cut into him and his ash and form is deteriorating slightly. He looks.
[03:00:57] Speaker D: He looks.
[03:01:02] Speaker B: He's gonna take a. What's your sword? Attack.
So he's gonna take the first one at Craig.
[03:01:09] Speaker D: Me. Oh.
[03:01:15] Speaker B: Me.
Landon. I said.
[03:01:21] Speaker D: A 27 will hit.
[03:01:25] Speaker B: Why did I stop? Worse, Craig takes 13 points of slashing damage. The next ones at boss equals 133.
[03:01:35] Speaker D: One second. You said seven, brag.
[03:01:37] Speaker B: That's a 12.
[03:01:38] Speaker D: How much?
[03:01:38] Speaker B: Yes.
[03:01:39] Speaker D: No second.
[03:01:39] Speaker B: 13. 13 points of slashing. 13, 13, 13.
[03:01:42] Speaker D: Okay. Okay.
I'm gonna use yield spiny shield as a reaction.
[03:01:48] Speaker B: Well, that was at Craig.
You said he attacked me, not Craig.
[03:01:56] Speaker D: I thought you said a second. Oh, okay. I, I, I'm genuinely sorry. I don't know what my mind.
[03:02:00] Speaker B: Yeah, cuz 13 in this. Okay, that's okay.
[03:02:03] Speaker D: Okay. Sorry. Thank you.
[03:02:05] Speaker B: Second attacks.
Got it.
[03:02:13] Speaker D: I missed so hard that he actually had.
[03:02:15] Speaker B: Poor, poor voice.
[03:02:16] Speaker D: Take a second instance. We're all very respectful fighters at a duel. We allowed him to have the moment.
[03:02:21] Speaker B: Thank you. Next one is against Roe and is a 20 to hit rose muted. But while she's muted, that doesn't hit.
[03:02:34] Speaker A: I'm super strong.
[03:02:37] Speaker B: 13 of slashing damage.
Huge strikes just.
And blood flow deflect one of the strikes.
[03:02:49] Speaker A: Oh God.
[03:02:53] Speaker D: So he did attack me though, right?
[03:02:55] Speaker B: Yeah. And missed.
[03:02:57] Speaker D: Hi, Crazy. Okay, as a reaction, I would like to.
He needs to do an intelligent saving throw.
[03:03:07] Speaker B: Okay. You can get him even on missed attacks. That's pretty dope.
[03:03:11] Speaker D: Yep.
[03:03:14] Speaker B: Is this against a magical effect or. No.
[03:03:18] Speaker D: It is against my one of my boon abilities. So I don't know if that counts. It's not a spell.
[03:03:22] Speaker B: It's not a spell is your boon.
[03:03:25] Speaker D: It's just the.
Yes, it is. It is from Yelik to not so well. You know, some things are spell restricted. You know, like speak with animals. Didn't have a penalty in the islands because it wasn't a thing that my race did. But that's the only magic.
[03:03:43] Speaker B: And his ability is against Magic. So he got it. Yes, yes, yes.
[03:03:46] Speaker D: All right. So I look at him, and I don't know how you want to flavor this, Zachary, but I roll a D12 and he's going to take half damage, and it's going to be from the mad Prince, so.
[03:03:58] Speaker C: Oh, cool.
[03:04:02] Speaker D: He takes three damage. So it's not, you know, like super mad, just slightly.
[03:04:07] Speaker B: Hey, man, damage is damage.
[03:04:09] Speaker D: He takes three psychic damage. And I feel like my eyes, like, flash, like the amount of the, like, they reflect like yellow to knots. And his mind just feels like a sharp like, like when you, like, stub your toe, basically. Like in his mind.
[03:04:24] Speaker B: Yeah. He winces away in pain. And Boz doesn't see for a moment as like the mossy mane of Yelik danth momentarily just ethereally just flashes around his head and disappears.
Dope. Very cool. Next initiative is the mantis knight.
[03:04:42] Speaker C: He takes saving throw.
[03:04:46] Speaker B: That is never going to quit being useful.
First one's a NAT one. Second one's a 15.
Sorry, buddy. Oh, I hadn't added his modifier. That was very deceptive of me. Okay, still gonna do a lot of damage.
That's a lot of damage.
Guys, when Abby does math, you don't know this listener, but when Abby does math, she's having a visceral experience. She closes her eyes, she. She winces. She rubs her face.
She kind of silent shouts. She rocks back and forth in her chair.
He'll get exercised for less.
[03:05:37] Speaker C: It's gonna be 15.
[03:05:39] Speaker B: Okay. Hey, that's some damage.
As the ethereal creature wish by him and impact his carapace armor and crack it and blood spills out. He's starting to look pretty hurt. Not quite bloodied, but close in response.
He's gonna. Oh, hold on. Somebody made a very good point last time.
He's gonna move to flanking with row.
[03:06:12] Speaker C: Because I almost didn't he outside of my.
[03:06:16] Speaker B: No, but importantly, the first attack has a NAT20, and that's why we crit fish. The second one has a nat 20. Guys, come on now. How great is that? The third one.
Third one is probably bummer. The third one misses, but two net twenties, that's not bad.
So that's 48 plus 14.
So that's 10.
Plus 14 is 24. Plus 14 is 38 points of piercing damage row as the mantis knight just like, like buzzes around you. The way he moves is his wings lift him and he. He just like dodges to the side. And as he does and you're turning, it's just.
Just four quick. Oh, fourth Attack. I didn't do my fourth attack.
[03:07:18] Speaker A: Oh, wonderful.
[03:07:21] Speaker B: Terrifying.
A 20 total hits. Yeah. Okay, so. Excuse me. 38 plus shoot another 12. So 50 points of piercing damage in one turn.
Bad rolls can't last forever. Sorry. Zach's out of a slump, guys.
[03:07:49] Speaker A: Yeah. Rose at 10 hit points. Just so everyone knows.
[03:07:52] Speaker B: Just having you row, it's awful because it's just all these searing.
[03:07:58] Speaker A: No way.
Every point counts. Hold on. I did the math wrong. 26 minus 12. 14. I'm at 14 hit points.
[03:08:11] Speaker B: 14 hit points. Much better. Much better.
[03:08:13] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm hanging on to every point.
Okay, wonderful.
[03:08:20] Speaker B: What's Craig doing, Landon?
[03:08:23] Speaker D: Craig is going to look at the void marshal, and he's going to attack again with his star splinter girl. Yass attack with star splintery.
That was cocked.
[03:08:38] Speaker B: Landon. Landon, before you do anything, could you make a strategy check for Craig, who's an experienced warrior?
[03:08:45] Speaker D: Yes, I will make a strategy check for Craig. He's going to go around and flank the guy, though. Is that what you're trying to get him to realize?
[03:08:51] Speaker A: That's right.
[03:08:51] Speaker D: He is.
[03:08:51] Speaker B: Before that was what the check was for.
[03:08:54] Speaker D: He rolls a 25.
[03:08:59] Speaker B: It occurs to him vividly to flank the guy.
[03:09:03] Speaker D: Oh, wait, I get advantage because he's flanked. Right?
25 is better than a 22. So he rolls a 25 on the first attack, and he has one more third level Divine Smite that he can do.
[03:09:20] Speaker B: Sorry.
[03:09:21] Speaker D: Looking for Craig's spells on my own character sheet.
[03:09:26] Speaker B: It's a lot to run. It's a lot to run multiple things at once. Yeah, it's a lot.
[03:09:30] Speaker D: All right, so he is going to roll 5D 8. 2D 6 plus 1.
Oh, my gosh.
5. 5D 8.
Right.
[03:09:43] Speaker B: 5D 8 plus 2D 6 plus 1. Okay, well, 5D 8 plus 2D 6plus 1plus 5 because that's the strength modifier. I didn't identify those 3D 6plus 6, which is also probably something micro doesn't do when adding damage. But, guys, I have two stupid keys.
[03:10:10] Speaker D: Next to me, and it's just 2D6.
[03:10:13] Speaker B: Plus 6.
[03:10:16] Speaker D: Plus 2. And because of Oz's feature that I forgot to use last time, he gets to roll 3D4 for fire damage.
[03:10:26] Speaker B: Oh, because of the boon of the.
[03:10:27] Speaker D: First flame, I forgot to do it the first time.
[03:10:31] Speaker B: Holy crap. Craig's proximity to to boss as he's swinging his sword as the ash marshall boz like burns with this kind of rainbow light from the first flame. And Craig's sword star splinter sets on s on fire with golden first Flame Light. So Craig is swinging around Star Splinter covered in gold fire. That's awesome.
[03:10:56] Speaker D: He does 51 points of damage.
[03:10:58] Speaker B: 51 damage. 1 points of damage. 51 points of damage.
[03:11:05] Speaker D: On his first attack.
[03:11:10] Speaker B: Guys.
Okay, let's see that second attack.
[03:11:15] Speaker D: All right, he can't do Divine Smite because he already did a bonus action. So he doesn't have it anymore. Yes, yes, but he's going to.
[03:11:22] Speaker B: Guys, I think Craig's about to hit a damage 28. 28.
[03:11:25] Speaker A: 28.
[03:11:26] Speaker B: 28.
[03:11:27] Speaker D: So he's going to do three D8, right? Because it. He has plus. It's two D8 then. Plus one. Because it's improved. No divides. Divine Smite. It's improved. Divine Smite. So he just gets two D8.
[03:11:39] Speaker B: Well, hold on, hold on.
[03:11:39] Speaker D: No, he can't define Smite because he.
[03:11:41] Speaker B: Doesn'T have the bonus action.
[03:11:42] Speaker D: Thank you. It's just two plus one.
Yes, that's fine.
[03:11:49] Speaker B: You're playing a whole brand new character. It's a lot.
I think this is going to be Craig's new damage record.
[03:11:58] Speaker D: Plus 3D4.
[03:12:01] Speaker B: Plus 3D4.
[03:12:09] Speaker D: Okay, so 3D4 was not as great as you'd hoped it would be. 2D6. Plus 6.
Oh, I have one more. No, that's it. That's 3D4. And then plus.
That's. That's it. That's it. Okay, so he does 20 more points of damage, guys.
[03:12:26] Speaker B: Craig just did 71 points of damage in a turn.
[03:12:30] Speaker C: Wow.
[03:12:30] Speaker B: Securing the second place all time damage record for the fun, guys.
[03:12:37] Speaker C: Oh, wow.
[03:12:39] Speaker B: Landon. Mike is incredible with her character, but you should have a conversation sometimes about upcasting the Divine Spice Balls.
Craig charges around the other side of the. Of the. Of the Ash Marshall. And as he's spinning around striking at you all, he just.
And there's these two big slashes at his back and the Ash. Marshall turns to block with his armor and the burning blue light of. Of Star Splinter covered in golden fire just cuts through his armor just.
And dust sprays away and the plume of ash rising away from the ash. My ash. Marshall's head thins and dims and ash is just pouring out of him. He's looking well past bloodied. He's looking thirded no less than. He looks real bad.
That's an incredible turn. And the scope of this fight just shifts. Next up in the Initiative is Tello. What is Tello doing? Probably firing.
[03:13:38] Speaker C: Okay, dm, I have some questions.
[03:13:42] Speaker B: I have some answers.
[03:13:45] Speaker C: I want. So.
Okay. Tello has his oceans of discombobulation.
Oh my Goodness, I forgot if maybe I could use that. My question is, I have to turn the music up so I can use my brain.
My question is. So in hello's. Oh, that's thorn reference in Telo's channel, it says blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Cast confusion on all creatures within the range of the point you throw it at. And then there's a list.
It says decks check DC10 up to 20ft. I'm assuming that that means that if I want to throw it 20ft, the DC is 10. Correct.
[03:14:27] Speaker B: Yes.
[03:14:28] Speaker C: Okay, what is. What does that make? The range of that potion is the.
[03:14:32] Speaker B: Range of the range of the confusion spell.
[03:14:35] Speaker C: Okay, got it. Okay, well, I will not be doing that, but I appreciate your clarify.
[03:14:39] Speaker B: Okay, but.
[03:14:40] Speaker A: But.
[03:14:40] Speaker B: But tell me it wouldn't be funny if Tello hit the orchid count with a potion and then confused. Greta, tell me that wouldn't be hilarious.
[03:14:49] Speaker C: That would be or setting be bad.
Okay, he is going to.
He's going to.
[03:15:01] Speaker B: I have. You guys can't see it, but I had a big note on my DM notes that just says combat in the first session because I knew if I did it in the second session, we'd all get too sleepy.
[03:15:14] Speaker C: He's gonna like, crouch down, but he knows that he can't hide.
[03:15:17] Speaker B: Sure. Instinct.
[03:15:19] Speaker C: Instinct. And he's gonna.
Oh, no, he's not. Sorry.
He's going.
[03:15:27] Speaker B: He's throw at him.
[03:15:30] Speaker C: No, he's gonna try and do Tasha's mind with the door. Is that a roll to hit? No, it's not. It's throwing me off. It says you physically lash out. And I was like, hello?
But he doesn't physically lash out. He stands where he is and he lashes out with his mind to the orchid man.
Okay, Is that the one?
[03:15:53] Speaker B: This is a intelligence saving job.
[03:15:57] Speaker C: It is.
Any.
[03:16:04] Speaker B: First a 15. Second one's highest is a 15. Does that succeed or fail?
[03:16:11] Speaker C: That meets it.
[03:16:14] Speaker B: Okay, Meets it. So he takes the damage. He. He takes half damage, but suffers none of the other effects. So Tello crouches down, pulls out that spindle, silver and metal. And there's a little bit of uncinian slipped in because he's learned most acting from Greta. And they speak in an insinian with each other.
[03:16:36] Speaker C: N.
No, five cuz it's half.
[03:16:39] Speaker B: Hey, Damage is doing okay.
Looks he like, winces and bleeds a little from his head. It's all psychic damage. He's going to have to see up there.
Next up in the Initiative is black. Oh, wait, no.
Yes. Did you have a thing?
[03:17:01] Speaker C: Oh, I'm Sorry, I just. I just got really excited.
[03:17:07] Speaker B: Well, I have a question for you to start.
[03:17:09] Speaker D: My turn, Zach.
[03:17:11] Speaker B: Never mind. I'll do a thing.
[03:17:12] Speaker D: Turn boss Zach, my sacrifice of the first flame does not say whether it's an action or a bonus action, I assume. What? What is it?
[03:17:22] Speaker B: Holy actual crap. It doesn't, does it?
Big old boo boo in my pants. I'm gonna call that an action because it's a human. That's the one where spell slots for healing, right?
[03:17:36] Speaker D: Yeah, exactly.
[03:17:38] Speaker B: Yeah, we're gonna call that an action. Otherwise, that'd be the strongest healing feature in the game.
[03:17:43] Speaker D: All right, for a free action, can I ask Greta how she's doing on hp? Like, how she's doing?
[03:17:50] Speaker C: Good. I tell.
[03:17:51] Speaker A: What's your number count?
[03:17:53] Speaker C: I tell boss 53 on a scale of 1 to 81.
[03:18:00] Speaker B: I'm feeling 3 in stories. Reaction to look over in Greta and see. Oh, okay.
[03:18:13] Speaker D: I'm gonna gamble a little bit, guys. Oh, Zachary.
I look at the orchid count and I say, I'm sorry to do this to you because you're the coolest looking of the crew, but both Ash Marshall.
[03:18:31] Speaker B: And the Mantis Knight look at you. Offended.
[03:18:34] Speaker A: They're so offended.
[03:18:36] Speaker D: I. I look at him and I just say B. And I cast Polymorph, and I try to turn him into a bump one of my bees.
[03:18:43] Speaker B: Oh, wisdom saving throw. Inexplicably, right?
[03:18:50] Speaker D: I believe so, yes.
Hey, you.
[03:19:00] Speaker B: First one's a little.
What's your spell?
[03:19:06] Speaker D: Save boss 18.
[03:19:09] Speaker B: He fails.
So boss, as you look. Look at him, you just say. And the bee comes out and the voices of the first flame, and he goes.
And that's a shame, because I didn't get to use a big feature with him yet. He's a bee now.
[03:19:29] Speaker D: Does he turn into a bee? Does he turn into a bee? All right. I walk over to him and I. If the d. Listen, I'm gonna. This is the only time I will beg for a rule of cool, Zachary. I'm going to beg for this. I will do anything to make this happen. Please allow this to happen. Please, I beg you.
[03:19:46] Speaker B: That you can put him in.
[03:19:47] Speaker D: I open up my beach terrarium and I scoop him in there as a bonus action.
[03:19:51] Speaker B: Quick question before you do that, because I love the rule. I will totally let you do that. You. You know that it. Once the spell ends, he'll not be. And then he'll just be the orchid knight inside the orchid count inside the terrarium. And that could be.
[03:20:06] Speaker D: He's gonna kill a bunch of feywild bees from the feywild.
[03:20:09] Speaker B: I don't. I'm just saying you have the orchid count. I'm. I'm all. I am saying.
I'm not saying he. I'm saying you'll have the orchid in your apiary soon after. You're okay.
[03:20:21] Speaker A: Would he be. Would he be in there? Or when he turns back, would he go big again and destroy it?
[03:20:28] Speaker B: No, it's. It's an inner. It's a. There's a lot to it.
[03:20:33] Speaker D: Yeah.
[03:20:34] Speaker A: Okay. You cut in and out, so I didn't know what was happening.
[03:20:38] Speaker B: I'm just saying, at some point, I am saying.
[03:20:46] Speaker D: I highly doubt he is going to kill a bunch of feywild bees from the feywild.
[03:20:52] Speaker B: Your choice, man. I am it. Maybe tea with them. Keep them. All.
[03:20:58] Speaker D: Right, I'm gonna whisper to him and be like, hey, man, look, if you want to stay, that's fine with me, but you gotta ask your bomb first. And I put him in.
[03:21:10] Speaker B: Well, okay, so let's. Let's back up to the rule.
I am totally down to have. Too cool. And he's very confused because he went from being.
And also, when you morph, you get the intelligence of the new creature, and that makes him. You need to catch him.
I'm gonna cut the highest DC in the world.
They're mobile.
[03:21:31] Speaker D: He doesn't have any actions or reactions.
[03:21:38] Speaker B: And an ace.
You don't polymorph something, and then it just goes like. It's not. You don't pop someone into something and then fall over.
[03:21:46] Speaker D: Okay, I'm asking for too much. I get it.
[03:21:49] Speaker B: No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Let's roll with this. So give me a dex. Check to grab them. Give me an acrobatics. Check to grab them.
[03:21:59] Speaker D: Okay.
[03:22:01] Speaker B: And then attack of opportunity from the ash. Marshall, as you walk. We'll get to that.
Okay.
[03:22:15] Speaker D: Okay. Zach.
[03:22:16] Speaker B: Okay. Oh, I just ran over my own, but that hurt.
Yeah. What's up?
[03:22:21] Speaker D: I can't use my. My grabbing grapple ability to, like, pull him in, right? Like, I can't.
[03:22:26] Speaker B: Like. Nope, not in this instance.
[03:22:29] Speaker D: All right, I'd probably.
[03:22:30] Speaker B: Yeah.
[03:22:31] Speaker D: That is a.
What a dex. That is an unnatural 20.
[03:22:37] Speaker A: Ooh.
[03:22:39] Speaker B: Pause.
You turn the orchid count into a bee, and then you walk up and go. You whisper whatever you say, and you just grab them out of the air and shove them in your ap.
And he's. He's not there. He's not in combat anymore. You.
[03:22:56] Speaker C: Crazy.
[03:23:01] Speaker B: What a wild move. And what a wild gamble that worked out.
[03:23:05] Speaker D: If he kills my bees, it's his. So he shouldn't kill a bunch of bees.
[03:23:07] Speaker B: Hey, hey, hey.
[03:23:08] Speaker D: Also, it's probably take a lot of work to kill a thousand bees. Like, that's.
[03:23:11] Speaker B: Maybe he'll destroy everything you ever worked for. Maybe he'll do absolutely nothing wrong. Certainly a gamble. Who knows? He's in there. Now the or the Ash Marshall swings at you as you're running away, and Craig deflects with his shield. We'll say as he rolls too high to hit you or too low to hit you. Next up in the Initiative is Robob me Bob, the highest hp.
[03:23:35] Speaker D: My dragon goes next. My dragon.
[03:23:38] Speaker B: Your dragon goes next. Your dwarf.
[03:23:39] Speaker D: My Dwagon goes next. Thank you.
I just watched the tab that has his inflammation on it.
[03:23:46] Speaker B: Oh.
[03:23:49] Speaker D: I'm very scared now for my bees. Guys, we can't let them stand there. We have to do something.
[03:23:52] Speaker A: I'm a little scared too.
[03:23:55] Speaker B: What have I done?
[03:23:57] Speaker D: I told him he was the most beautiful one of his party before I put him in there. So maybe.
[03:24:01] Speaker B: Okay, pause, Pause.
[03:24:03] Speaker D: Okay, okay.
[03:24:04] Speaker B: Persuasion. No, you've done too much.
I was just gonna let you try and flatter him, but okay.
[03:24:11] Speaker D: I.
Zalifax. I lost the thing as I was looking for my persuasion stat. Thanks, Zach. Okay, Salafax is going to cast.
He's gonna cast mirror image on. On.
Is it self? Yeah, it's only self, isn't it?
No, he's gonna cast color spur Ray on the Marshall knight.
Okay, and is that like a cone.
[03:24:46] Speaker B: Or a point in range or.
[03:24:49] Speaker D: It is a cone.
A 15 foot cone. So let me see how he could fly around two positions.
[03:24:58] Speaker B: He'll just either get the Marshall and Craig or the Marshall in row.
[03:25:06] Speaker D: If he does it right over him. Like if he stands up and shoots it down just right above his head like a tractor beam.
[03:25:16] Speaker B: If you're willing to put him in melee range with him, I'll say he can do it.
[03:25:21] Speaker D: Yeah, he's in melee range with him and he casts color spray.
[03:25:24] Speaker B: Okay, so now know that when you use a range spell on a creature at melee.
No, no, that's only for. That's only for melee attacks. Post. Yep. No, you're good.
[03:25:40] Speaker D: All right.
[03:25:41] Speaker B: Okay.
[03:25:42] Speaker D: All right, so I'm gonna Cat. I'm gonna roll six D10.
I'm gonna hope that I get some high rolls, guys. Pray that I get some high rolls.
Not high is also not high.
[03:26:01] Speaker B: So cool.
[03:26:02] Speaker D: That's good.
That's another good one.
That's another good one.
I got one more.
That's. Oh, I rolled 310 Zachary, I rolled 3 10.
Okay. That is 43 hit points. Is that equal to or more than his current hit points?
[03:26:29] Speaker B: Zachary Buzz Zalifax flies over him with those like, rolling wing beats one over another, and he just.
And all these little, like this light spray just covers over the ash Marshall. The ash Marshall looks up at, it covers his eyes. And when he lowers his arm back from his eyes, the blue moats are gone and he is blinded.
[03:26:52] Speaker C: Wow.
[03:26:53] Speaker A: Oh, my God.
[03:26:55] Speaker B: Oh, man.
[03:26:56] Speaker D: I feel like Zelophak is trying to impress Dragon.
[03:26:59] Speaker B: To take the tiniest little gambles and turn them into the biggest, most successful moves is incredible. You're such an unpredictable D and D player, and I love it.
Next up in initiative, he's gonna fly.
[03:27:15] Speaker D: Away now that he's blinded and can't take advantage on him.
[03:27:18] Speaker B: Okay. Yeah, I'll say. He has no idea.
Row Europe.
[03:27:26] Speaker A: Okay, you said consumables and potions are bonus actions, correct? To. To consume them yourself?
[03:27:34] Speaker B: Yes.
[03:27:34] Speaker A: Okay.
[03:27:35] Speaker B: That's my rule.
[03:27:35] Speaker A: Yeah.
[03:27:35] Speaker B: Because it's BS that it takes an apple.
Yeah.
[03:27:41] Speaker A: So I have one greater healing potion, so I'm gonna take that as a bonus action.
[03:27:49] Speaker B: Yep. That's a good idea.
[03:27:53] Speaker A: That's gonna be May 15 points healing right now.
So that's gonna be 29 is what that is, I believe.
[03:28:10] Speaker B: Yeah. Oh, okay.
[03:28:12] Speaker A: And then I am going to look at these two dudes.
They're still flanking me. Correct?
[03:28:22] Speaker B: They are still flanking you.
[03:28:24] Speaker A: I'm going to look at these guys, and I don't. Ro does not like being bloodied.
And she's getting a little angry. And when she gets angry, she sings really loud and hard. And so I'm gonna cast Cry of the old song.
I'm gonna cast Cry the old song at 6 level on these two guys, and it's gonna sound really crazy. And lots of voices coming out.
[03:28:58] Speaker B: Ro pulls out. Ro pulls out song splitt.
She does Jackie, tell me if this is wrong. She, like lifts up a note, she pushes it up into the top of the note. It turns into like a fly leaf scream. That turns into like, I love 40 or 50 female voice.
And as you. As you play it, it like reverberates to everyone. You're just like, it like shutters all of your spines.
[03:29:29] Speaker A: Yeah.
And that's gonna be a wisdom saving throw from those two.
[03:29:37] Speaker B: Okay. Wisdom save from the Mantis knight is man. This magic resistance is crazy strong. What's your spell save?
[03:29:45] Speaker A: Easy 17.
[03:29:51] Speaker B: Mantis Knight fails.
[03:29:53] Speaker A: Oh, yay.
[03:29:55] Speaker C: Finally.
[03:29:58] Speaker A: Does the other dude fail.
[03:30:04] Speaker B: Ash Marshall fails. They both failed by one, they both fail.
[03:30:07] Speaker A: So they're gonna take 7D8 of psychic damage.
And just so you guys know, so for oops. So for Tello, Greta, Boz, dragon.
And if the Dragon's within a 60 foot radius, and Craig, you guys all get 3D8 temporary hit points.
[03:30:33] Speaker C: Oh, wow.
[03:30:35] Speaker B: Wow, this spell is so strong.
[03:30:39] Speaker A: Sorry, I just lost all my papers.
Okay, I'm gonna roll the seven. Just scream that psychic right now.
[03:30:47] Speaker B: Like, as the scream reverberates over everyone. It's. It's potent, it's frightening, but it's more. You feel things with the scream in your inmost being. Realities about the past become true inside you for a moment. And as the Ash Marshall and the Mantis Knight endure whatever they endure, you all are hearkened back to visions of terrifying power.
You are hearkened back to visions of harrowing strength from sources that encourage you. You are reminded of the terrible, horrible, beautiful qualities of truths that your faith rests in, that your hope is found in. And they embolden you and heal you as you take your 3D8 temporary hit points.
[03:31:41] Speaker C: So I. I have a question.
Do those work that like, so when I'm. When I take damage, I take those away and then I take away from my other ones.
[03:31:52] Speaker B: Girl, that's exactly how it works, you big brain, sharp elbow, son of a nutcracker.
[03:32:03] Speaker A: I have a question.
[03:32:04] Speaker C: Psychic damage.
[03:32:05] Speaker B: I have an answer.
[03:32:06] Speaker A: I've never rolled for multiple enemies with this.
[03:32:10] Speaker B: You just roll.
[03:32:11] Speaker A: You just roll one and then take.
[03:32:14] Speaker B: You take your dice, you roll them, and then I wake with the numbers.
[03:32:18] Speaker A: That's 31 points of damage to each of them.
[03:32:23] Speaker B: Okay.
Holy crap.
Well, row, very importantly, how do you want to do this on the ashmore?
[03:32:42] Speaker D: Never stop coming.
[03:32:46] Speaker A: That's awful.
[03:32:48] Speaker C: Oh, my God.
[03:32:49] Speaker A: As I play this and everyone is in this weird arena thing, hears the voices of a thousand. Whatever.
I would like my magic, the purple and green and gold as it comes out and it flows out of my loot and out of rose mouth and everything I would like it to in, like, encompass the Ash Marshall. And as it goes up it like all the magic goes like, into his eyes where he's been blinded.
[03:33:33] Speaker C: Oh, cool.
[03:33:35] Speaker A: And just like the gold, like, if it's okay to flavor it this way, the girl, like, his eyes that have been blinded, like, are now just like glow gold until, like, it like bursts like.
[03:33:49] Speaker C: That's awesome.
[03:33:51] Speaker B: Heck yeah. As the reverberations like, flood into his eyes and the light burns. He just.
And he like, stiffens and arches his head up and his back straightens. He drops the sword, which just turns to dust, and his eyes burn with light. And his. He opens his mouth in a scream. That's just a project projection of light just.
And his body just dissolves into nothing.
The mantis knight on the other side of you goes.
[03:34:25] Speaker A: Looks really concerned with my passive perception. Do I see any of what the court looks like? What they're facing? Any of them?
[03:34:35] Speaker B: I mean, in an infinitely more. More relaxed, infinitely more reposed way. They're, you know, they're an NBA bench after somebody dunks. They're all just like.
They're all making faces like. And actually very. I'll say this, bro, meaningfully, like. Yelik Tenant has a broad smile on his face.
He looks enraptured.
There's reactions from all of them. But Thuras.
Her eyebrows are raised and she's nodding like you're convincing her of something. Okay, cool.
Now it's. Ooh. Okay, now it's the orchid knight. Now on his turn, he is gonna go.
[03:35:13] Speaker C: He is gonna take.
[03:35:15] Speaker B: No, he's not. He's literally in another realm.
[03:35:19] Speaker C: Oh, no, he's not.
[03:35:20] Speaker B: Next up initiative is Greet tar. What's up? Greet tar.
Oh, Zach, Zack. How are my bees treating him?
[03:35:29] Speaker D: Are they, like, chilling?
[03:35:30] Speaker A: Are they, like, confused?
[03:35:31] Speaker D: Like, what's. Who knows right now?
[03:35:35] Speaker C: All right.
[03:35:36] Speaker B: Who knows?
[03:35:37] Speaker D: Are you're not impressed? I don't know what heatballing is. Wow. Okay, wait, did you say heatballing? I did say heatballing.
[03:35:44] Speaker B: I thought you said beat calling. And I was like, that's weird.
[03:35:47] Speaker D: No.
[03:35:47] Speaker B: Yo, dude. Nice. These go hard.
[03:35:50] Speaker D: I thought about trying to turn him into a wasp, but I don't want him to die.
[03:35:53] Speaker B: I mean, that is very specifically Japanese honeybees, but that is sick.
[03:35:56] Speaker D: I know, but I thought you might have mercy.
[03:35:58] Speaker B: But I'm really impressed you knew that, and that made me very excited.
Inspiration land. Okay, so you were on the edge. I saw you. I was like. I was. I was. I love that you brought up heatballing. That's so cool. That's such a. That's one of the dopest B behaviors.
[03:36:15] Speaker A: I'm a sucker for wildlife behavior.
Sorry. I'll let myself out.
[03:36:26] Speaker B: Jackie just gets up and leave.
[03:36:29] Speaker C: Okay.
Okay.
[03:36:34] Speaker B: All right.
[03:36:35] Speaker C: I am going to cast.
What's that ring around the red person?
[03:36:46] Speaker B: Concentration ring on, boss.
[03:36:48] Speaker C: Oh, I'm also concentrating.
[03:36:51] Speaker B: Yes, and you should have one. What are you doing?
[03:36:54] Speaker C: I would like one. I'm spirit guardians.
[03:36:59] Speaker D: That is concentration.
[03:37:01] Speaker C: Oh. I'm gonna cast Guiding Bolt at the fourth level.
You are on the other, the only guy left. And that's 76. Correct. Because it's three to start with.
[03:37:17] Speaker B: 76. And why don't you roll them razzazzles?
[03:37:21] Speaker C: Yeah, I gotta roll the hit.
Okay.
Okay. I can add my bardic inspiration to this, right?
[03:37:44] Speaker B: If you want to. You can. You can add it on.
[03:37:47] Speaker C: I. I do want.
[03:37:48] Speaker B: Also, before you roll, I importantly want you to know my rule for this.
In this one time. Time only. This one time is if the added roll on brings you up to a total of 20, that will count as a crit. Only for this one time.
[03:38:02] Speaker C: What if I go over?
[03:38:04] Speaker B: Then it's over. It's blackjack. It's a bust.
[03:38:09] Speaker C: Okay, yeah, stop. I have to.
[03:38:13] Speaker A: I'm.
[03:38:13] Speaker C: Okay, so I'm at a 16 now, and I'm gonna roll my.
No, I went over, so it's a 20.
[03:38:22] Speaker B: Well, you.
[03:38:22] Speaker C: 15 plus.
Okay, cool.
So I rolled. I'm gonna roll my dice.
[03:38:34] Speaker B: That's true. Abby, you're so good at this.
I was encouraging.
Not encouraging.
[03:38:45] Speaker C: I do not feel encouraged.
[03:38:48] Speaker B: You know what? My students out there somewhere have to be saying something, because in my classroom, there's a rule that we build people up in here, but also, I gotta rise up rasm things.
I don't want to talk about it. I don't want to talk about it. I said the wrong thing. No, Jackie, no. Stop it. No, stop.
You guys can't see it. Luna's curled up asleep to the right of me, and every time I get distracted, I just put my hand down in her and I go, she's so squishy. Oh, I love cats.
I gotta piss so bad.
I don't know how bad racehorses have to piss, but.
[03:39:35] Speaker C: What?
[03:39:36] Speaker B: That doesn't make me change the name of the general channel to Vegan Scientology Dungeon meeting.
[03:39:42] Speaker A: Oh, I did that at the very beginning.
[03:39:45] Speaker C: Who could that be? Zach would be that.
[03:39:49] Speaker A: I was waiting for someone to notice.
[03:39:51] Speaker C: I noticed.
[03:39:52] Speaker A: It's been like that now for hours.
[03:39:54] Speaker B: Well. Well, Maddie. Well, I was doing a couple months.
Drew commented in the barely DND chit chat channel, finally listening to a third watch. I thought y'all knew I was joking. From Landon connects with me.
Anywho, What'd you get, Abby?
[03:40:10] Speaker C: 25. Doesn't seem right. I'm gonna do my math again.
[03:40:15] Speaker B: Well, how do you want to do this?
[03:40:19] Speaker C: Wait, you should.
[03:40:22] Speaker B: You should take the victory. Or you could.
[03:40:26] Speaker D: That has to go pee very badly.
[03:40:28] Speaker C: I did it, right.
I'm gonna say it. It shoots out from, like, under Greta never takes the thing out from under her. Her clothing, but just shoots out. And then I'm gonna say that, like, it goes up and it does, like, a big arc just for show. Oh, and sick. I'm imagining there's, like, three spirit guardians because there were three bad guys, and they all, like, the bolts to join it and then just, like, come down as, like, a giant, like, fiery column or radiant column.
[03:41:03] Speaker B: Yeah. That's awesome. Also, did you settle on green or blue?
[03:41:08] Speaker C: Green.
[03:41:09] Speaker B: Okay. As the green light, the green and gold just burns down in the Mantis light, the Mantis Knight, it burns away, and then there's just these two little mantis wings and then the swords.
And with that, you all are out of combat.
Also with that, we're gonna call that the end of the session, and then we'll come back next time.
So, awesome session, you guys. That was a really dope session. That was awesome. Oh, I love combat. I've had so much combat lately.
Before we go anywhere, I actually closed my word document earlier, but I have it written down on paper here. Take notes on the XP gain here, and then we'll end the episode.
You guys defeated the Mantis Knight, so that's 0.03 levels.
You defeated the Orchard Count. I'll help you add this up if I go too fast. 0.04 levels. And you defeated the ash marshal, which is 0.06 levels. Wow.
[03:42:14] Speaker D: 11.
[03:42:15] Speaker B: So you guys gained 13.
Yeah. 0.13 levels.
6.
[03:42:23] Speaker D: 8.
[03:42:24] Speaker B: Awesome.
[03:42:24] Speaker A: Yeah.
[03:42:27] Speaker B: With that, listeners, thank you so much for joining us on another one. Life is an incredible adventure. We're going to go on the fastest potty break, and then we're going to join you for another session.
