Episode Transcript
[00:00:04] Speaker A: Welcome back to Barely D and D. Was I supposed to do the intro?
[00:00:07] Speaker B: No, I think it was supposed to be happy, but that's.
[00:00:09] Speaker A: Oh, I'm so sorry.
I don't know why I thought it was me.
[00:00:12] Speaker C: No, Jackie, it's you. It's because it is you.
[00:00:14] Speaker A: It's because.
[00:00:16] Speaker C: I wasn't going to do it.
[00:00:18] Speaker B: The point.
[00:00:19] Speaker C: I wasn't going to do it. So it's good that you did it.
[00:00:22] Speaker A: You're so.
[00:00:22] Speaker B: The good thing is that we have a complete pause of conversation now. That's where we want to be at.
Well, this is your sort of Dungeons and Dragons podcast. This is another.
This is another episode of the Accidental Adventures, and that sound is probably the most appropriate sound.
We're going to get back into some count business, so.
[00:00:47] Speaker A: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
[00:00:50] Speaker B: Dude, I love that.
[00:00:51] Speaker C: Let's do that.
[00:00:54] Speaker B: All right.
[00:00:57] Speaker D: Hey, guys, real quick. I'm sorry to derail us getting into the power. I just switched my mic over. Can y' all confirm that it sounds like a mic?
[00:01:03] Speaker B: It sounds much better.
[00:01:04] Speaker C: Sounds good.
[00:01:05] Speaker A: Sounds good.
[00:01:05] Speaker B: Great.
[00:01:06] Speaker D: All right, guys, that's it for me.
[00:01:09] Speaker B: Welcome.
[00:01:09] Speaker D: Welcome back.
[00:01:14] Speaker B: Trainwreck.
You know what? Fun, fun little, small midgen thing from the other day. Since life changes quite some time ago, we've not been very focused on the particular success of this contract of this podcast. We're just doing it for us, which is awesome. I like that a lot. But I was on Castos the other day, just uploading an episode, and I went and looked at our numbers, and turns out that we still have, like. We have, like, people who are not on the Patreon, and we have, like, roughly, like, 15 or 20 monthly listeners, so actually. Really? Yeah, there's, like, a consistent number of people who, like, listen to this thing, which.
[00:01:51] Speaker A: And what was it on, like, on, like, June 28th or 29th or something? We had a spike.
I think Zach's gone, like, a real Pride month.
[00:02:02] Speaker E: Indeed.
[00:02:03] Speaker C: We had a spike for Pride Month.
[00:02:05] Speaker A: We had, like, over 300 listeners in one day, I believe.
[00:02:08] Speaker B: Wow.
[00:02:09] Speaker C: What happened? Dude, that's awesome.
[00:02:10] Speaker A: I don't know.
[00:02:12] Speaker C: Which way do you.
[00:02:13] Speaker D: I paid $1,000 for a Tumblr ad.
[00:02:17] Speaker A: For a Tumblr ad?
[00:02:19] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:02:20] Speaker D: What happened to Zachary?
[00:02:22] Speaker A: I don't know, man.
[00:02:24] Speaker C: Zach's actually unhappy about our pregnant spike, and I think that might say something.
[00:02:27] Speaker B: About him, which is very surprising.
[00:02:31] Speaker A: Oh, he's back. No, he's not. He left. I say.
[00:02:35] Speaker C: What did I say?
[00:02:39] Speaker A: He said, yes, I am.
I think he said. I think he said, you know, he said, yes, I am gone. This is.
[00:02:45] Speaker C: He said, yes, I am unhappy about our Pride month. Spike.
[00:02:48] Speaker D: No, that's not what he said.
We're not going to allow.
[00:02:55] Speaker A: Everyone.
[00:02:55] Speaker E: Landon is our hr. He's our hr.
[00:02:59] Speaker A: Be careful. Don't go to a Cold Play concert.
[00:03:02] Speaker D: I feel like Jackie is hr. I feel like I'm technical operations.
[00:03:07] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, I guess I am a little bit hr.
[00:03:11] Speaker B: I never went anywhere. Are we on the letter question?
[00:03:14] Speaker A: No.
[00:03:15] Speaker D: Yeah, we actually all just answered. And now it's time for the DMN PC.
[00:03:18] Speaker A: Your turn.
[00:03:20] Speaker B: Okay, cool.
[00:03:21] Speaker A: Okay.
For the letter question. The question is if your character was at a Coldplay concert. This. This is gonna age poorly. But if your character really is.
[00:03:34] Speaker B: Wasn't going to work in two months, but.
[00:03:36] Speaker A: Okay, well, we'll. We'll broaden the horizon. Okay, your character. If your character was at a concert and the Jumbotron camera panned to them, what would they do?
Oh, I love that.
[00:03:53] Speaker B: That is good. That is good. Who is the dmnpc? The Dominipooka.
Fifteen.
[00:04:01] Speaker E: The count.
[00:04:03] Speaker A: Let's do the count.
[00:04:06] Speaker B: All right. Count it is. Abby, you've been outvoted.
[00:04:09] Speaker A: I'm sorry, Abby.
[00:04:12] Speaker B: The official phrase is get dunked on. Abby.
Okay, so let's start with Craig. What would Craig do if the Jumbotron was turned on him?
[00:04:22] Speaker E: I don't think he's very used to the technology, obviously.
[00:04:27] Speaker B: No, he doesn't feel like.
[00:04:28] Speaker E: I think that he wouldn't see it till the last second, but what it would show him doing is probably.
[00:04:38] Speaker B: Oh, my gosh.
[00:04:38] Speaker D: This is a classic Micah bit, you guys.
[00:04:41] Speaker B: Holy cow.
Yeah.
[00:04:45] Speaker E: Did y' all hear me good?
[00:04:46] Speaker A: No, no.
[00:04:48] Speaker B: What he would do was.
Yeah, of course.
[00:04:52] Speaker E: Okay.
I don't think he would realize that he's on the jumbotron. So what it would picture him saying or doing is picking up the popcorn from the floor and eating it.
[00:05:04] Speaker B: Oh.
[00:05:07] Speaker E: And then he would realize the last second, and then he might go like that, and then, like, you know, wave. And it cuts off like. Like half a second in the camera.
[00:05:15] Speaker B: Guy'S like, get it off of him. Get it off of him. We don't know what's going to happen next.
Sorry. Listener Micah keeps landed. Just put a. Just put a link for buying network cables in the general chat.
Oh, my goodness. The day you guys recognized this was here, everyone became such a menace.
Greta, what was Gumbotron turned on you?
[00:05:44] Speaker C: I don't know.
Maybe I feel like she's not that. Like, she doesn't love, like, being in the spotlight when she's not, like, in control of being in the spot.
[00:05:58] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:06:00] Speaker C: But I think maybe she would just, like, smile awkwardly and wave, and it would be, like, a pretty average response.
[00:06:08] Speaker B: Yeah, I can see that. Just like.
And then just like, yeah, get it off me. Yeah.
[00:06:13] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:06:15] Speaker B: I. I feel that Boz.
[00:06:18] Speaker D: Boz would major image a Barack Obama next to him so that it looked like he was hanging out with Barack Obama at the Coldplay concert.
[00:06:27] Speaker B: That's a sick answer, actually. That's. Wow. It's.
[00:06:31] Speaker C: So question, why is Barack Obama.
[00:06:35] Speaker D: Because he likes Coldplay also. It's a boss illusion. We'd be hanging out, chilling, like. Like, he would pretend not to notice the Jumbotron at all. It'd like him and Barack Obama laughing at an inside joke for however long they have the camera on him.
[00:06:49] Speaker B: The very next day on Twitter, everyone's like, what the heck? And Barack's like, yeah, I wasn't there. I don't know. What.
[00:06:54] Speaker A: I don't know.
[00:06:56] Speaker B: I didn't like calling him Barack just then. That felt a little disrespectful.
[00:07:00] Speaker D: Moving on, President, please. Thank you.
[00:07:04] Speaker B: Yeah, I really. There aren't a lot of people I want to say that correctly for, but that I didn't like that. Moving on.
What would Roe do?
[00:07:12] Speaker A: Oh, I think she would get overly excited and, like, start checking her hair and, like, she would, like, prestige, like, sparkler. Like, sparkles and stuff. And then she would kind of try to.
She'd recognize that, oh, that's a camera. And it's. And it can. It can. It can. It can show you. So instead of, like, when the camera goes off her, I think she would continue to try and, like, follow the camera to be, like, in.
She'd be, like, walking through the stands, trying to get where the camera was.
Yeah.
[00:07:54] Speaker B: Landon. Inspiration for no reason in particular. Holy crap.
[00:07:58] Speaker D: Zach, you can read for the class. You can read it for the class.
[00:08:05] Speaker B: Okay, this is. People are here for the session, not for the comments in the chat. And I also don't want to keep encouraging this behavior, even though I am right now, but Landon messaged asking Micah to buy an ethernet cable. Like, asking Zach to learn how to use a 3D printer. Shouldn't be too hard, but it's definitely not going to happen. And listener, that's not going to be as funny to you as it is to us, but that is a good joke.
Okay, Focusing. Focusing.
Is the count, the dma, PC or Nifty? What was the ruling?
[00:08:34] Speaker C: I think we decided on Nifty.
Just kidding. We definitely decided on the count. I'M lying.
[00:08:41] Speaker A: I'm lying.
[00:08:43] Speaker B: What would. What would Nifty do in front of the Jumbotron? I think if the Jumbotron went on Nifty, I think he would just stare down the person next to him. So, like, if the. If the camera was put on him, I think he would immediately turn and just look at the person next to him. Like, and when that person was like you, he would just keep being like you. And then that would just devolve into a bit that the other person was not trying to be there for.
And also probably make someone magically force someone next to him to pee themselves or something. I don't know. Something.
Something they count to, though.
Oh, we don't know. Anyway, so we are for the note taking.
Abby wanted her way. She's really stressed out tonight. I thought I'd humor her because it'll get worse for the note taking nerds.
This is episode 150 of the Accidental Adventures, which is crazy, guys. 150?
That's nuts.
This is episode 150, Crisis of Faith.
[00:09:53] Speaker C: Oh.
[00:09:58] Speaker B: Nothing wrong with that.
[00:09:59] Speaker D: I have the last episode as being 147.
[00:10:03] Speaker B: Okay, Dinner with the Devil.
[00:10:05] Speaker A: That was 109.
[00:10:06] Speaker B: It was episode 149. Dinner with the Devil.
[00:10:09] Speaker D: Am I behind? How am I behind on numbering these?
[00:10:11] Speaker A: You. Because you missed a couple, remember?
[00:10:14] Speaker D: Is Legath at last? Episode 148.
Yeah, okay, got it. I missed. You're right. I missed a couple. And then I didn't. I didn't catch up on the name on the numbering. I am wrong.
[00:10:25] Speaker B: Poopy.
[00:10:26] Speaker D: Stinky head. You are right. Clean head.
[00:10:28] Speaker B: Booby. Stinky. Boo. Boo.
So episode 150. Crisis of Faith. It's a level 13 adventure. What's the exact level right now?
[00:10:39] Speaker A: Jekyll 905. That's crazy.
[00:10:42] Speaker B: Damn.
[00:10:43] Speaker D: Can we level up? Mid encounters. Acre.
[00:10:46] Speaker B: Oh, no.
The date is 3488pb. Sihadron 23. The day of the week is Monarch. And it is 7:20pm roughly. Ish.
All right, let's.
Okay, I forgot. What Landon. I'm gonna focus. But I forgot what Landon and Micah were messaging about. And Micah just messaged is 50ft too long. And I was like, what? And I was like looking at the battle map, like, what are we talking about? But that makes way more sense now.
Stupid. All right, let's. Let's do some terrible things.
Where we at here?
[00:11:31] Speaker A: I'm not doing a terrible thing.
[00:11:35] Speaker B: You're fun. Guys.
No Roll initiative.
[00:11:41] Speaker A: I thought we did.
We did.
[00:11:43] Speaker B: Oh, everybody remind me Their initiatives.
[00:11:48] Speaker E: I don't remember.
[00:11:51] Speaker D: Write them down.
[00:11:52] Speaker A: Abby and I both rolled Dirty, Dirty twenties.
[00:11:57] Speaker B: Oh, Kenku left that. That's why the music's not playing. Because it.
I'll tell you what. We'll do it live. We'll.
[00:12:05] Speaker A: We'll do what live?
[00:12:07] Speaker E: But I rolled to 30.
[00:12:08] Speaker A: 20. And so did Abby.
[00:12:10] Speaker B: Well, does everyone. Does everyone know their initiatives for sure? The.
[00:12:13] Speaker D: I do not remember. And I thought.
[00:12:14] Speaker A: I thought you had written it down.
[00:12:18] Speaker B: Let's roll.
[00:12:18] Speaker A: Initially, I'm wrong. Dang it. I liked my. I've never rolled that high in.
[00:12:23] Speaker D: Zach, can we have a bonus since you forgot and I know I did real well.
[00:12:29] Speaker B: You can use your per diem if you want.
[00:12:33] Speaker A: It's still not horrible.
[00:12:35] Speaker B: Not another Micah's unintelligible. Okay, Miss.
[00:12:39] Speaker D: Forgot the homework.
[00:12:41] Speaker A: I'm sorry.
I'm being a turd. I'm sorry.
I just. I never rolled Dirty twenties, but I rolled okay.
[00:12:49] Speaker B: Zachary.
[00:12:50] Speaker D: Zachary.
[00:12:50] Speaker B: I'm not.
[00:12:50] Speaker A: Fine. I'm fine. I'm fine.
[00:12:52] Speaker D: I'm going to share my screen just so Zachary can see this.
[00:12:56] Speaker B: I trust you, Landon. I always trust you.
[00:12:59] Speaker A: Not your electronic dice screen.
[00:13:01] Speaker B: I mean, it's a bummer, but I don't know how.
[00:13:05] Speaker D: I know you all don't like it. That's the only reason why I use Seem nice. I just. I love the faces I get when I say that. I'm Googling something from the player's handbook. I want to be using digital diets.
[00:13:17] Speaker A: The Googling something from the player's handbook doesn't bother.
[00:13:19] Speaker D: Total is. Yeah, total is 25.
[00:13:22] Speaker B: That's crazy.
Anyone else in the 25 to 20?
[00:13:31] Speaker A: I. I got a 17.
[00:13:34] Speaker B: Okay, we'll go to 15 to 20. Anybody in the 15 to 20? Oh, sorry. 17 from row. That's okay. It's not a big deal.
15 from row 17 or 17? What'd you say, Greta?
[00:13:48] Speaker C: 15 from Greta.
Let me get tellers.
[00:13:53] Speaker D: You said bro had 17.
[00:13:54] Speaker B: I really hope he doesn't roll that high.
[00:13:56] Speaker E: You're dead.
[00:14:02] Speaker D: You add your decks to it. And your strength.
[00:14:04] Speaker B: Abby, let me know when you have telos.
[00:14:06] Speaker C: I will.
[00:14:08] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:14:13] Speaker D: Zachary, how game breaking would it be if there was a feat that allowed martial classes to use their strength to affect their initiative instead of their dexterity?
[00:14:21] Speaker B: Not that. Not that game breaking at all.
[00:14:23] Speaker D: Really?
[00:14:24] Speaker B: That honestly be a good feature for a class?
Yeah.
[00:14:30] Speaker D: And then write my name at the top of the page like you did for Abby and not me on the thing I helped with then.
[00:14:34] Speaker B: Micah. I love that abbreviation. Thank you. That's so technically Accurate.
[00:14:39] Speaker D: Oh, mathematical annotation.
[00:14:41] Speaker B: What did. What did Tello get?
[00:14:44] Speaker C: I've got a 14.
[00:14:47] Speaker B: Okay, good. I don't have to rewrite anything. Okay, okay, so Greta has a 15.
[00:14:57] Speaker D: Abby has. Has Tello taken any feats or ability score increases throughout this campaign?
He has.
[00:15:05] Speaker A: She said any feet.
[00:15:06] Speaker C: I think it's just been ability score.
[00:15:09] Speaker B: Okay, cool, cool, cool.
[00:15:11] Speaker D: He should have had three ability score increases by now, right?
[00:15:15] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:15:17] Speaker D: I was trying to.
[00:15:18] Speaker B: For myself. Very fitting initiative. Wow.
Very thematic. Okay, what did I get you all? He got 12. You all are in the.
[00:15:30] Speaker A: I just have a question. Like, for terms of. Like, would all the soldier dudes all be in one?
[00:15:38] Speaker B: We'll certainly find out. Okay, so. No, that's okay. That's a valid question. We'll certainly find out.
So fun, guys. You all were at a dinner that went from tense to poor to terrible.
And after Ro.
[00:15:54] Speaker D: And slightly better, actually.
[00:15:55] Speaker B: Attempting. And slightly better. Yes. Yes.
After attempting to present to prevent loss of innocent lives, Ro cast cry of the old song, giving in to the Count's incessant and violent goading.
And as the incredible spell went off in the room and everyone gained the boons of the spell, the shockwave dissolved the illusions of the dead people by the stairs, as well as that of the Count, whose last words were, the arrows are real.
And as he disappeared, every guard in the room drew weapons and has begun to step forward. To you. We're at the top of initiative. Boz, what are you doing?
[00:16:38] Speaker D: Sorry, Zachary, Can. Can you.
[00:16:39] Speaker B: That's okay.
[00:16:40] Speaker D: Actually, I was trying to do something funny, and I don't know how to work the Discord stuff enough to do it, so never mind.
Boss is gonna cast.
He's going to cast.
[00:16:55] Speaker B: Oh, sorry. Sorry, Jackie. I should have explained the map first. Yes. If people need to look at the stuff, this is a good time. This is the table in the middle where you all are sitting. I tried to draw the image of a staircase spiraling upward around a pillar. It came out real funky. It was a bad. That wasn't good. That's the staircase. That's the door. That's the dais with a throne. Moving on.
[00:17:13] Speaker A: Okay, sick.
[00:17:15] Speaker D: Which one is the guy that he pointed to and said would die if we hit him?
[00:17:20] Speaker B: This guy right over here. I marked him in a slightly different color. So useful for you all. Yeah. This is the captain who walked you all in. The room is the dark circle over here. And then this one is Frederick.
[00:17:29] Speaker A: And that's the door. He's standing in front of the Captain.
[00:17:33] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:17:34] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:17:36] Speaker B: So what are you doing, Boss?
[00:17:39] Speaker D: I think I'm gonna cast dispel magic on him at the third level, just to test.
[00:17:45] Speaker B: Okay, describe what that looks like for me.
[00:17:50] Speaker D: I'm gonna take another bite of my sandwich because I think Boz would have made a sandwich if possible.
And he, as he's chewing, he's gonna wipe his mouth, stand up, and he's gonna look at Frederick and say, are you real? And then he's gonna cast dispel magic on him.
[00:18:09] Speaker B: What is real?
[00:18:11] Speaker D: Three of your own actions, question mark. And then he's gonna cast dispel magic and he's, he's gonna like, he's gonna like, like point at him like, like finger crossbows. And he's going to cast disco magic.
[00:18:22] Speaker B: At the third level with a flourish of both kind of an amber base and a gold finish to the magic. From Baz's origins to Radiator's Head. There's just this wave of magic as Frederick, who looks like he has like, who has tears on his face and looks stressed the heck as everybody. Such a dorky thing I just said. As he pulls out his short sword and starts stepping toward boss, he points out and ask the question. Frederick pauses for a second and this wave of amber light sort of across him and it sort of like tussles his hair a little bit. But he just looks confused and he kind of like touches himself for a second as if, you know, this powerful adventurer who killed Dolgoth has just used magic on himself. So he's like kind of panicking for a second, touching his armor. No.
[00:19:10] Speaker D: Hey. I say like, hey man, you're chill. I just, I just.
[00:19:13] Speaker B: Oh, that's. We've. We've used our economy that we've performed the turn. This is.
[00:19:18] Speaker D: This is. I'm trying to role play. I'm trying to not. I'm not.
[00:19:21] Speaker B: You got six seconds. You got six seconds. You stood up, you ate a sandwich, you wiped your mouth, you made a comment. You did the finger crossbow.
He's concerned. He's concerned about what happened to him. But there doesn't seem to be an effect. Not. Not one you could see yet. So far maybe there has been. But at the moment he seems unaffected by it.
[00:19:38] Speaker D: On Dimension 20, they have full on conversations with the. The enemies mid combat.
[00:19:43] Speaker B: Why can't. Yes. In Dimension 20, the joke is forever more important than the function of the moment.
I'm just kidding.
[00:19:50] Speaker D: I love this.
[00:19:50] Speaker B: No, it's fine.
Pause. It's okay, Orlando.
[00:19:54] Speaker D: I'm too happy.
[00:19:56] Speaker B: It's okay. We just Got a lot in the DM brain at the moment. What's up, bro?
[00:19:59] Speaker A: He's too happy.
[00:20:02] Speaker C: Excuse me.
[00:20:03] Speaker A: So just so I'm understanding correctly, is. Are all the. Are all the guards.
Do they have their swords pointed at us?
[00:20:14] Speaker B: Everyone's. Everyone's drawing weapons. Stepping forward.
[00:20:18] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:20:21] Speaker B: You understand they've been given the command to kill you all? I mean, that's true. There is clearly complicated emotion in the room. That was evident from last time. But everyone's. Everyone's stepping toward you.
[00:20:32] Speaker D: I haven't finished. My turn.
[00:20:35] Speaker A: What?
[00:20:35] Speaker B: Oh, excuse me. That's correct. Landon, forgive me. Do you want to use a bonus action or movement? I'm sorry about that.
[00:20:41] Speaker D: Let me see.
[00:20:43] Speaker B: That is true. That was just action.
[00:20:49] Speaker D: As a bonus action, I would like to talk to him.
[00:21:01] Speaker B: Okay, yeah, you can get out a phrase. What do you want to say?
[00:21:05] Speaker D: What is. Okay, so. So. So to make sure I'm understanding, there's no doors out of here. Or is the door on the far side?
[00:21:10] Speaker B: I mean, there's the one you all came in right over here. That's a door. Okay. The one by which you walked into the. Into the throne room in the center of this. This central edifice of the castle.
Okay.
[00:21:20] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:21:22] Speaker B: Okay. Also, this building should be circular, but. But this was much easier.
[00:21:26] Speaker D: What is the little circle at the bottom of the room?
[00:21:29] Speaker B: Yeah, this is a staircase going up a spiral staircase. I did a terrible job representing it. It's. We don't have to talk about it. It was really bad.
[00:21:35] Speaker C: It's practice. You're getting better every day.
[00:21:37] Speaker D: Oh, that's where the bodies fell down. That's where the bodies fell down.
[00:21:40] Speaker B: Where the bodies appeared from.
Any bonus action? Removing.
[00:21:45] Speaker D: I'm in a bonus action.
I'm going to go for the captain.
[00:21:53] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:21:54] Speaker D: And I'm gonna. Bonus action. Vicious mockery.
[00:21:57] Speaker A: Okay, nice.
[00:22:00] Speaker B: That's a wisdom saving throw.
[00:22:01] Speaker D: Yeah, that's a wisdom save.
[00:22:04] Speaker B: What's your spell save?
[00:22:06] Speaker D: Good question. I believe it's something nasty, like 19.
[00:22:12] Speaker B: Okay, he fails. What do you. What do you say then?
[00:22:15] Speaker D: Sorry, I don't have any of my spells open.
I don't know. I'm in a rush. Zach, let me have a moment. Stop rushing me.
[00:22:24] Speaker B: Well, I do need combat to move.
[00:22:27] Speaker D: See, I said it first so that you would say your thing next.
I counted you.
[00:22:33] Speaker A: Question.
Oh, okay. I was gonna say I have a question. Why you do something, but.
[00:22:39] Speaker D: Yeah. What is it?
[00:22:41] Speaker A: I was just gonna ask Zach, can you tell me how tall the room is? Like, do we.
[00:22:48] Speaker B: Yes, I can. The ceiling is about. Like, it's probably 20ft up.
[00:22:53] Speaker A: Okay. And the staircase is, like, going up into that, basically into the.
[00:22:58] Speaker B: Okay, forgive me. I can tell you the second floor. I can tell you exactly how tall it is. Forgive me, I can tell you exactly how tall it is.
[00:23:04] Speaker A: Just a curiosa.
[00:23:05] Speaker B: It is.
It's 15ft high.
[00:23:10] Speaker A: Okay. And the stairs start, like, in that. Okay.
Okay, Coco.
[00:23:18] Speaker D: So I cast vicious mockery, and I say.
I say, what's going on, dude? Come on, now.
Really?
[00:23:32] Speaker B: All right. And how much. How much damage does. What's going on, dude? Come on, now. Deal to him. Him.
[00:23:38] Speaker D: No. Dang it, Zach. I'm not in the right mindset to be vicious to these people. Well, how much damage? 10 damage.
[00:23:44] Speaker B: Let's just move to the damage.
[00:23:46] Speaker A: Okay, that's beautiful.
[00:23:48] Speaker B: What's up, dude? Come on, now. Deals 10 damage of psychic. And you know what? As you whisper the phrase.
[00:23:54] Speaker D: It's the tone. It's the tone. It's like. It's like a. Like a Disappointed. Like a Very much like. I'm dis. I'm not angry. I'm just disappointed.
[00:24:01] Speaker A: I'm not angry.
[00:24:02] Speaker C: I'm disappointed.
[00:24:02] Speaker B: And it's this. As this random captain is deeply, deeply, deeply concerned with your opinion of him, it devolves into these complicated, overlaying sustrations of deep magic. And they seem to. He doesn't seem to be able to interpret them with his mind. And he stumbles a little bit as he coughs, a little bit of blood spurts out of his nose. And other guards around in the room look concerned, and you've certainly gotten their attention.
[00:24:24] Speaker D: Any movement, boss, on his next attack, I want to just walk calmly up the staircase.
[00:24:34] Speaker B: Okay.
5, 10, 15, 20.
[00:24:39] Speaker D: Stop it, Jackie.
[00:24:40] Speaker B: Don't. Don't.
[00:24:40] Speaker D: Come on.
[00:24:42] Speaker A: No, it's fine.
[00:24:43] Speaker B: And then you could probably go.
If you're using 10 more feet.
[00:24:48] Speaker D: I have 45ft of movement right here.
[00:24:51] Speaker B: Oh, that's true.
Okay, Boss is gone. He's on the second floor. Floor.
[00:24:55] Speaker A: Oh, crap. Okay.
[00:24:57] Speaker B: All right. That's boss's turn.
Next up in initiative is Ro. What are you doing, Ro?
[00:25:03] Speaker A: Okay, so I'm going to do something I've never done before.
Actually, I've done it once. Okay, I'm gonna cast.
I think I've done it once. I don't know. I'm gonna cast Nar's Nathar's mischief.
[00:25:22] Speaker B: Okay. Didn't even know you had that spell.
[00:25:24] Speaker A: Yeah, you did. I did. A long time ago.
[00:25:28] Speaker B: That's amazing.
[00:25:29] Speaker A: And I've never used it, but it's Very row coded.
So I want if. Okay. So it fills a 20 foot cube, and I can place it anywhere within 60ft of me.
[00:25:42] Speaker B: Yeah, it can go anywhere in this room.
[00:25:43] Speaker A: And I. I stood up, right? Like, can I just say that I.
[00:25:47] Speaker B: 40, 45, 50. 55, 60. That's not true. It can go almost anywhere in this room. Yes. Yeah, everyone has stood up. That's why I put you guys behind your chairs.
[00:25:53] Speaker A: Okay. Sick. You guys, I'm gonna. I feel like that's around right there is, like, where the most guards are, kind of. So I want to put it in that, like, right corner.
[00:26:05] Speaker B: Do you want to put it, like, right in front of the captain? Do you want to put it right over here? Where do you want to stick it?
[00:26:12] Speaker A: I guess if I put it right in front of the captain, will it get the guards?
[00:26:17] Speaker B: You put it right in front of the captain. 5, 10, 20. It would basically just get this. If you put it right, like, here, you'd get, like, these four.
You're gonna get four. So you could get these four. You could get these.
[00:26:31] Speaker A: Can I get four, like the four behind. Right behind the staircase there at the bottom.
Like those.
[00:26:39] Speaker B: These four?
[00:26:40] Speaker A: No, like.
Yeah, right there so that it's kind of sticking out. So if anyone walks through it, they get affected by it, if that makes sense.
[00:26:50] Speaker B: Good thing Boz is all the way up the stairs. Yeah, absolutely.
Okay, what kind of saving throw or actually, what does this spell casting look like?
[00:26:58] Speaker A: Well, okay. Yeah, so when I cast well, I need to roll a D4, so I know what it actually does.
So I rolled a. Oh, am I rolling or are you rolling?
[00:27:11] Speaker B: I'm rolling a wisdom save because.
[00:27:12] Speaker A: I'm sorry, I rolled a three, which means each creature in the cube must succeed on a wisdom saving throw or begin giggling until the start of my next turn. A giggling creature is incapacitated and uses all its movement to move in a random direction.
So when I.
So what I play, it just sounds. It sounds like kind of calming almost.
And like, this purple and gold and green magic flows out of my loot and just, like, begins circling the four guards there. And, like, almost like I know this isn't technically what's going on, but almost like tickling them. So that's why they start, like, giggling.
[00:27:58] Speaker C: That's wonderful. I love that.
[00:28:01] Speaker A: And as I play this deeply, deeply unexpected.
And as I play this, it's gonna Bartically inspire who's in front of me. Craig.
[00:28:12] Speaker B: Sick.
[00:28:13] Speaker A: It's gonna Bartically inspire Craig, because Craig would probably start kind of giggling too, but Then be Bartically inspired by it.
And so that's my bonus action there. And then I.
I am going to.
I think I'm gonna stay where I'm at, actually, right now.
[00:28:31] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:28:32] Speaker A: And just so you know, I am under concentration, so if you want. Yes.
[00:28:35] Speaker B: Oh, thank you.
[00:28:36] Speaker A: Thank you.
[00:28:37] Speaker B: That is very helpful. As you strum your chord and sing a comical note, these four guards, like, are stepping forward, weapons, and then, like, kind of stop, and they, like, twitch a little bit, and then they each kind of like, like, move. And it's a very strange scene because it's as people in the room are on the verge of mortal conflict, but the other guards are looking really concerned because these guards are twitching and now giggling and laughing. One of them drops a sword and has to pick it up as he stumbles to his knees.
And it's really uncanny and disconcerting. And so far, this guard has had a wave of red magic splash over him. And then this guard's been insulted and had blood poured out of his nose. And then these guards are now suddenly laughing and giggling and will begin moving in random directions.
[00:29:23] Speaker A: Also, just so you know, I. At the start of each of my turns until the spell ends, which is a minute, I re. Roll it, and I can move the cube up to 10ft before I roll it.
[00:29:36] Speaker B: Thank you. And please remind me on their turn to go ahead and have them do the movement. If you move the cube, are they no longer affected by it once they're out of a space?
[00:29:45] Speaker A: Yes. If they're not. If they're not in the space when I move the cube, then they're no longer affected.
[00:29:50] Speaker B: Okay, understood. No problem. Yeah.
And you put that cube. The point was marked out for myself. Okay, excellent.
So it's Greta's turn, and Tello's on deck.
[00:30:04] Speaker A: Let's go.
[00:30:06] Speaker B: Abby's like, yo, I didn't know I was in this combat.
[00:30:10] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:30:12] Speaker B: What are you doing?
[00:30:15] Speaker C: I'm gonna sneeze. Bless you.
[00:30:17] Speaker B: Oh, happy you're up.
[00:30:24] Speaker C: Okay, how I'm gonna try.
[00:30:29] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:30:30] Speaker C: I'm also gonna try and make my way towards the staircase.
[00:30:34] Speaker B: Okay.
Around which side of the table will you be going this way or this way or over the table?
[00:30:43] Speaker D: She's so small. Could she just go under it?
[00:30:45] Speaker C: That's true. Can I duck and go under?
[00:30:47] Speaker B: Oh, no, that's actually a really good point. You're so short. I'm just going to say it's going to cost you, like, five extra feet of movement to squat down for a second. But you're so short. Yeah, you could slip right under that.
[00:30:56] Speaker C: So I'm going to.
[00:30:57] Speaker B: Instead of that being like 5, 10, 15, that would be like 5, 10, 15, 20. It's basically what that would be.
[00:31:02] Speaker A: Guards got to be so confused.
[00:31:06] Speaker B: And then you would still have another 10ft of movement.
[00:31:10] Speaker C: It says I only have 25ft of movement on my sheet. Is that wrong?
[00:31:13] Speaker B: No, that's true. Because you're unknown. Yeah. You'd have another five feet of movement.
[00:31:16] Speaker C: Okay, I'll do that.
[00:31:18] Speaker B: Okay. There you are. You're on your way to the staircase.
Oh, man. I did not draw that up.
[00:31:26] Speaker C: Okay, so that is my.
[00:31:27] Speaker A: That's okay.
[00:31:27] Speaker B: I'm good at this stuff.
[00:31:29] Speaker C: That's my.
Actually, can I. I'm gonna. Got kind of combined while I'm under the table, I'm going to cast thurgy.
[00:31:44] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:31:47] Speaker C: And I'm going to.
I'm going to do the. Create instantaneous sound.
[00:31:58] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:31:58] Speaker C: Actually, yeah.
Yeah, I'm gonna.
[00:32:05] Speaker B: Okay. And what are we doing with that?
[00:32:07] Speaker C: Let me think, Let me think. I'm thinking.
So I'm under this.
I'm gonna. I'm gonna try and do an persuasion.
Or I'm gonna, like, try and be persuasive.
[00:32:26] Speaker B: What.
[00:32:26] Speaker C: What's the.
[00:32:27] Speaker B: How about. How about instead of telling me the check you make, why don't you go ahead and just describe what the spell's doing and then I'll assign a check to it.
[00:32:33] Speaker C: Okay. Yeah, I'm gonna. I'm gonna actually make my voice loud, but I don't want it to be scary. Actually, I. Okay, I'm gonna. While I'm moving.
I'm so sorry. I.
Okay, this is my turn.
I'm gonna look around. Looking around. Oh, my gosh. I'm gonna duck down, go under the table, and then when I step out, I'm going to yell or I'm gonna project my voice and I'm gonna say, the fun guys don't want to hurt.
We only want to help you.
[00:33:11] Speaker B: Okay, Greta.
[00:33:16] Speaker C: There doesn't need to be. I want it to be like, I make my voice sound, like, loud, and I'm firm. Like, a little scary, but, like, firm. Like, like, you know how a parent is, like, sure, you're afraid because it's.
[00:33:29] Speaker B: A parent, but this. This cantrip was basically made off of that scene in the. In the Lord of the Rings where Gandalf gets all big and shouts and raises his voice, and then Bilbo listens to him. So I love it. So you come out the other side, your. Your symbol flashes, and I put my hands up.
[00:33:47] Speaker A: I Put my hands up.
[00:33:47] Speaker B: And you put your hands up. And as your.
[00:33:50] Speaker C: Booms out, the magic that I. That I use speak with it, like, wisps out of my mouth and, like, makes my palms glow with the symbol of. Did I say they make my palms glow with the symbol?
[00:34:01] Speaker D: Make them sweaty knees weak.
[00:34:03] Speaker B: Absolutely.
[00:34:03] Speaker D: Spaghetti.
[00:34:04] Speaker B: I am going to say you can. You can offer me a straight persuasion trick.
I'm gonna say that your.
Everything you did just then would give you advantage, and everything that's happened a moment before absolutely gives you disadvantage. So we're just gonna call this a straight roll, and it'll be. We'll call this.
For you to.
We're gonna call this DC15 because I think it's pretty in the middle.
There are some actions you all have taken that look very nonviolent, a couple that look a little violent, little confusing. DC 15. Give me a persuasion check.
[00:34:43] Speaker C: Okay.
That is a.
That's a dirty 20.
[00:34:54] Speaker B: It was a 16.
[00:34:56] Speaker C: The natural roll was a 16.
[00:35:00] Speaker B: Okay.
All right.
Okay, we. Oh, this is interesting. We will deal with that in a second. That's very interesting.
[00:35:14] Speaker C: And, like, praying for a blanket. When in. When in lore. Blanket situation.
[00:35:19] Speaker B: When in lore blanket.
[00:35:24] Speaker A: It's your turn again, Abby.
[00:35:26] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:35:26] Speaker B: Isn't that true also, Micah, you'll be up in a second.
Craig's not quite on the to.
[00:35:32] Speaker C: I'm going to say Tello doesn't quite know.
I don't know. I'm going to say he's going to.
[00:35:40] Speaker B: I mean, I. I buy that. Yeah.
[00:35:42] Speaker C: Yeah. And I'm going to say that he would try and stick close to greta. He is 35ft.
What would it take for him.
[00:35:49] Speaker B: Why don't you give me. Why don't you give me an acrobatics check for him to go over the table? This is. It's Tello. It's going to be D.C. like, 10 to go over the table without losing any movement. He's incredibly dexterous. He's tall. He said athletics, acrobatics.
[00:36:07] Speaker C: That is gonna be a 15.
[00:36:11] Speaker B: Okay. Yeah, he's fine.
He does that, like, cop show slide over the table, knocking some food off. He doesn't lose any movement. He's 15. He's right next to you.
[00:36:21] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:36:22] Speaker B: And if you want me to do some role playing for him, I can. But also, if you want. Want to dictate all the actions, you can.
[00:36:27] Speaker C: Did. Did you.
[00:36:29] Speaker B: Yeah. So you shout. You. You raise your hands and boom. With the phrase, the fun guys are not here to hurt anyone or whatever it was you exactly said. And as it bursts outward.
He just like he's pulling knives out from both sheaths. Sweat is beaded across forehead. He looks at you and he just.
Okay. And he just re. Shes them back in the sheaths and he, he puts a hand up on the table, does one single jump and slides across it and some plates to the floor and he lands on the other side. And he, he just raises his hands up a little bit off of his hips so that it's kind of like a. Hey, like I'm. I'm not doing anything. But his hands are far from his hips, so if they need to go to the crossbow or the knives, he can. Okay.
He's just standing there next to you, kind of eyeing people in the room concernedly.
[00:37:14] Speaker C: Okay, if this is okay, let me know if this is okay. Roleplay wise. I'm gonna say that while all of this is happening, because it's supposed to all be happening at the same time, he like, they, Greta and Tello, like glance at each other and communicate that Greta's trying to go upstairs. So I think he would use all of his movement.
[00:37:31] Speaker B: You know what?
You know what?
I do actually buy that they would have that level. Have told them, make a. Have told. Make an insight check.
It'll be DC10. Because he and Greta know each other incredibly well and she was already moved that way. And boss has moved that way. I can buy that.
[00:37:46] Speaker C: That's an eight.
[00:37:47] Speaker B: Okay. Tello's not exactly sure he stays in place. He's faced that way. He has the inclination, but he's not certain. Not quite a telepathic bone. Next item, Initiative is Captain Furze.
He just had 10 hit points taken from him.
And he has his order, so he will.
He is going to pull the halberd out from around where it's strapped on his armor.
And as he pulls it out, he says, men, you have clear orders. You know what you are to do.
And he's far from you. Well, actually, no, he's not going to do that because he has.
He can't move quite far enough. He's actually going to leave the halberd on his back, but he's going to pull out two hand axes from either side and he's going to go 5, 10, 15, 20.
[00:38:37] Speaker A: Remind me what he is again, just so I can picture him in my.
[00:38:39] Speaker B: He is a dwarf.
[00:38:40] Speaker C: Okay, where is, where is Rose Square?
[00:38:44] Speaker B: Over here.
[00:38:45] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:38:46] Speaker C: Okay. Oh, I see it.
[00:38:48] Speaker B: He.
He is a Dwarven man with shortcut hair, very short beard. Very unlike dwarves. He has a sort of like gouge on. Yeah.
[00:38:57] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:38:58] Speaker B: And he. 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50. You're still in range.
No, you know what?
He pulls out the halberd, and he goes, 30, 35. 40, 45.
What?
25. Okay, he was here. 5, 10, 15, 20, 25. That's correct.
30, 35, 40, 45, 50. Okay, he's gonna get to here. And he's just rushing toward Craig with his halberd out, weird. Down his blood, down his. His. His mustache. Okay, Craig, it's your turn.
And then the guards are up.
You're muted. This is the way.
[00:39:42] Speaker E: Would I typically. Would I be able to use my reaction to him?
Like, if he's coming at me?
[00:39:52] Speaker B: Great question.
[00:39:53] Speaker E: Reacting, or is that a part of my training?
[00:39:55] Speaker B: Turn.
I mean, it's your turn now. Typically, reactions need to be used. Not on your turn. If you give me an incredible justification for why a reaction could be used right now, maybe, but probably not.
Okay.
[00:40:10] Speaker E: So I would like to cast Guardian of the faith.
Is it guardian? Wait, wait, hold on.
[00:40:18] Speaker B: Guardian of faith. Okay. Wow.
[00:40:20] Speaker E: Guardian of faith.
[00:40:23] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:40:25] Speaker A: Sometimes I still forget that Micah is a caster now. It just. I forget about it.
[00:40:32] Speaker E: Yeah, he's your problem now.
[00:40:35] Speaker B: Where you want to put it.
[00:40:36] Speaker D: Hey, Zach.
[00:40:38] Speaker B: Yeah, what's up, Landon?
[00:40:39] Speaker D: Would Craig have the opportunity to make a strategy check to pick up what kind of like, Tello did or is.
[00:40:44] Speaker B: Is.
[00:40:45] Speaker D: Are you.
[00:40:45] Speaker B: No.
Okay. No, I mean, Micah, Micah, it's her turn, and she could take whatever action she would like to. I know.
[00:40:52] Speaker D: I just. Sometimes you let us know. Sometimes you give us the opportunity to. So I was just wondering.
[00:40:57] Speaker B: Yeah, and that's. And. And that's a fair question. That's. I'm sorry. I didn't. I didn't mean for. Sorry, Landon. I. That was. I can see how that response came off. Sassy. Can you forgive me? I meant that much more flatly. I apologize.
Michael, what is that casting look like?
[00:41:13] Speaker E: So I'm gonna say as he's coming out, like, Craig is, like, wielding a shield of sort. He, like. It's like he creates this.
There's, like, magic on his hands. He's, like, wielding this circle magic, and then as it comes to life, it forms into a celestial, like, figure of guardian, if that makes sense.
[00:41:43] Speaker B: Okay, Craig, as you step forward and attempt to evoke the deep magic to which you have grown accustomed, you speak some words. You attempt to speak in the deepest speech tongue, and nothing is produced.
There is no flare of light. There are no multiple tongues.
You just begin speaking words that dribble into a broken common and nothing is produced.
[00:42:08] Speaker E: Wait, did I miss something?
[00:42:09] Speaker B: That is.
Nope. That's your action.
[00:42:12] Speaker A: Wait, wait, wait.
[00:42:13] Speaker C: I have a question. I have a question. Is her spell slot expended?
[00:42:18] Speaker B: No.
That's a great question, Abby. Thank you for clarifying. No, just no magic is produced. Thank you, Abby. That was very good for it. Thank you. Very important clarification. I should have said that.
Yeah. No magic was produced.
That's your action with that attempt. What do you do with a bonus action movement.
[00:42:39] Speaker E: One second. Sorry, I just.
[00:42:41] Speaker B: That's okay.
[00:42:43] Speaker E: First, can I.
[00:42:44] Speaker B: That'll throw you. Attack is an action. Yeah. Weapon attack is an action or multi attack.
[00:42:49] Speaker E: Okay.
[00:42:50] Speaker B: You can take any bonus action you have or movement.
Also, just a quick clarification, Micah. Typically, someone needs to do something for you for you to take a reaction. Now, I'll take justifications in other scenarios, but that's how that typically works. If that's useful.
[00:43:05] Speaker E: Yeah, I can. I can attack twice. Or is it just like.
[00:43:15] Speaker B: But you have to. You can. You have multi attack. So you can attack twice, but you have to take. You have to use your actions to make a weapon attack. And then your. When you take a weapon attack, you get to make two, so. Yeah, that makes sense.
[00:43:27] Speaker E: Oh, this really stinks.
[00:43:28] Speaker B: Unexpected.
[00:43:29] Speaker E: Wait, Jackie was able to use magic, right?
[00:43:33] Speaker C: But we all were.
[00:43:34] Speaker B: Remember, every spell says at the top, whether or not it's an action or a bonus action. And yes, Ro. Ro successfully cast spell, as did Greta and Boz. But everyone had.
[00:43:45] Speaker E: Weird.
[00:43:46] Speaker C: Was your spell, bro. What was the spell that you cast?
[00:43:49] Speaker A: Nathar's mischief.
[00:43:54] Speaker B: Any bonus action or movement, Craig? I mean, I can understand why you'd be stunned in this moment.
[00:43:57] Speaker E: All right.
Can I ready myself for attack?
[00:44:04] Speaker A: I don't know.
[00:44:05] Speaker B: That would technically be a held action, so. No.
Okay.
If you have anything specifically.
Right, Or. Yep. Yeah, that's what's happening. If I have anything ready as a bonus action or movement, Mikey, you have your movement.
[00:44:21] Speaker E: Okay, let me look at the.
[00:44:24] Speaker B: Just run around.
[00:44:25] Speaker E: I'm the green one, right?
[00:44:27] Speaker B: Yeah, you're this blue one right here.
Kind of awkward.
[00:44:30] Speaker E: It's not loading anymore.
[00:44:32] Speaker B: It sucks.
[00:44:33] Speaker E: Can I move where there's something between us?
[00:44:37] Speaker B: Yes, you can.
Five, ten. Well, do you want to move around the table, or do you want to try and move over the table?
[00:44:49] Speaker E: Would I use. I would prefer to do that.
[00:44:53] Speaker B: Yeah, you can.
5, 10, 20, 25. You can wind up right next to row on the other side.
Okay.
Okay. There you are.
Okay.
Next up initiative is all the guards. Oh, Man, Frederick, what are they gonna do?
Well, first of all, these four guards are gonna move in random directions.
So all four of you guys roll me. Roll me a D6 and tell me what you get.
[00:45:35] Speaker C: This is so fun.
That's a great spell.
[00:45:38] Speaker B: 1, 3, 5.
[00:45:40] Speaker C: I got a 6.
[00:45:42] Speaker B: Okay.
5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30. This guy giggles and stumbles into a random direction and leaves the radius of the spell. But he is just laughing and stumbling and giggling, and that's his full turn. He. He just stumbles over here, falls to his ground, and goes.
Mike pulls up a weapon and looks confused. What'd you get? Abby or Micah or someone?
[00:46:05] Speaker A: What do you roll? What do you want me to roll?
Okay, I got a five.
[00:46:10] Speaker B: Okay, so that was Micah.
[00:46:12] Speaker C: Your, like, your screen is, like. You're, like, glowing. You've got, like, rainbow sparkles on you.
Can you see it?
[00:46:20] Speaker B: This guy runs all the way to the other side of the stairs and then leaves the radius. Yeah, Michael looks really special and magical in rainbow right now.
Jackie, what do you got on your roll?
[00:46:28] Speaker E: Oh, it's my.
[00:46:31] Speaker B: A5.
That means he also.
3, 4, 5, 6.
These cars are stacking up real weird, and he's left the radius.
That's bizarre.
So they're all just running through fronts of the room and then looking stunned and confused.
And then Landon or anyone else.
Anyone else want to roll a D6? Or.
[00:46:55] Speaker D: Since the other room. Do I still need to roll?
[00:46:58] Speaker B: Micah, what'd you roll on? A D6.
[00:47:00] Speaker E: I got two.
[00:47:03] Speaker B: Okay. Okay. So he will go this way. 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. And he is still in the space. So he is. He just runs randomly that direction and then continues to giggle.
Okay.
Bizarre. That's those guys. What are the others gonna do?
Yeah. Okay, so it succeeded. The persuasion check. So 1, 2, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50. It's going to. He's gonna get to there, and that's all he can go. He's gonna partially occupy the table there. Well, no, he can't occupy the table.
Then three.
5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 45, 50, 55.
No. Yes. 5, 10, 15, twenty, 25, 30, 35.
There. Yeah.
Five. No.
5, 10, 15,20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45.
Actually, he'd go the extra to get here.
No. Yes. 5, 10, 15, 20, 25.
Oh, and he can attack.
No.
Say that Frederick's also.
10, 15, 20.
Then these guys have all been expended in that way.
Oh, so that guy's also a. No. So then we have one more. 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55. Okay.
Half of the guards just move like 10 or 15ft in, but do not, don't attack.
They just kind of step forward, a little unsure of what to do, confused by the moment.
And the other guards rush in on you all to attack.
And then some of them are recovering from the effects of the spell.
And two of them have enough room to get to Craig. And So there are two attacks against Craig.
So Craig does 13. Probably doesn't hit. Huh?
[00:49:33] Speaker E: Wait, wait. Can I use my reaction to create disadvantage?
I.
[00:49:39] Speaker B: What feature is that?
[00:49:41] Speaker E: That's my paladin. Hold on, I'm trying to get to it.
[00:49:43] Speaker B: I think defense is a fighting style where you can impose disadvantage on attack against a different creature. But I could be wrong.
[00:49:50] Speaker E: It is.
[00:49:50] Speaker C: I think that's true. I don't know.
[00:49:55] Speaker E: No, it's protection when a creature you can see attacks. Oh, a target other than you shoot.
[00:50:02] Speaker B: Yeah, sorry. Well, the good news is, what's your.
[00:50:05] Speaker E: A.C. craig, 21, is he five feet from me?
[00:50:09] Speaker B: The attacks are a 12 and a 14.
So as Spears and swords slash at you, you raise a shield and block with star splinter. And both attacks deflect off of you and neither hit you. So you're being attacked, but neither has succeeded in attacking you. We move up back to the top of initiative where we go to Boz, who's just in a different place.
And I was totally ready for that.
Okay, so Boz, you attempted dispel magic cast or well, succeeded in dispel magic at third level cast vicious mockery went up the stairs.
You're in a different room now.
You go up the circular staircase and you hear sounds of action and spell casting and running and even some metal on metal from downstairs along with the shout from the captain. But as you go upstairs, you enter into a space that appears to you.
It's a 10 foot high room with two fairly nice iron cast chandeliers that appear to be plated in a brighter metal, like a copper perhaps, or a brass.
There is a well set strong table in the middle of the room with chairs all around it, like six high backed plush leather chairs. There is two different couches in the room, sort of lounging couches. Thank you, Jackie. I worked very hard on this one.
In the space that sit comfortably from the table, but not too far away, there's a couple side tables that have decanters on them.
And there's a bookcase on one side of the wall that's filled with scrolls and books.
Could you give me. It's not a very high detail. Oh, and then a door on the opposite side of the room, a large wooden door. Could you give me an intelligence check? It's not a really high DC.
DC?
[00:52:09] Speaker A: No.
[00:52:09] Speaker B: DC 8. Because you've seen similar rooms in the past.
[00:52:15] Speaker D: I got a 17, which is great because.
[00:52:18] Speaker B: Absolutely. Passes.
[00:52:20] Speaker D: I don't have a. I have a plus zero to intelligence, I think.
[00:52:25] Speaker B: Think.
Well, this looks like. It looks like. Not in the terms of how we would know it corporately today, but in an older sense, a room of conference. This looks like a business foyer or a business reception room where someone could have. Up from the throne room. It's not quite like an innermost sanctum, but it certainly seems like a space in which someone could conduct business. That is still a well refined location, well set. This looks like a business.
A room of conference or discussion or accordance.
[00:53:00] Speaker D: There's a desk, right.
[00:53:02] Speaker B: A table in the middle. Yes. So, like a table, chairs, reclining couches, side tables with decanters and alcohols. A bookcase at one side of the room, chandeliers overhead.
[00:53:15] Speaker D: Can I use my bonus action to yell something down the stairs?
[00:53:19] Speaker B: Absolutely.
[00:53:20] Speaker D: I'm gonna yell.
Guys, just. Just leave him be. Just come up here. There's another door.
[00:53:27] Speaker B: Okay. Boz yells that.
And how well can everyone hear it? We'll certainly get to that on. You know what?
Yeah, Boz, give me.
You can pick. Give me a performance or a constitution, because there's a lot going on downstairs, but, you know, you're not that far. Give me either performance or a general constitution check or however you want to say that for either the force produced from your lungs or how loud you.
[00:53:53] Speaker C: Can I hold your. I'm sorry.
[00:53:55] Speaker D: It's all right.
A constitution, you said?
[00:53:59] Speaker B: Yeah. I mean, for whatever it's worth, Greta has the alert feed, so she hears you, but I rolled an alert from everyone else.
Okay, so you're not sure whether or not they heard you. I mean, they might have. They might not.
[00:54:14] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:54:17] Speaker B: Ro and Greta, you both heard it over the din of conflict. Craig and Teller did not. What were you saying, boss? What are you doing with your action?
[00:54:25] Speaker D: Can you briefly describe the contents of the room one more time, Zachary, so.
[00:54:28] Speaker B: That I can understand? No problem. That is. That is. Okay. A lot's coming at you, and it's not what you were expecting. It's not what I was expecting. It's not what anyone was expecting. You've gone up the spiral staircase, and in this space is like a 25 foot wide, maybe 30 foot, sort of circular. Actually, it's a little bit more like a hemispherical room. 15ft high. A large fine oak sort of meeting table in the center with six high backed chairs, well upholstered, fine, dark, rich wood couches either side from that where someone could recline and have more casual conversation. Side tables with decanters and glasses full of alcohol. Bookcase on one side of the room, metal chandeliers overhead and a door on the opposite side.
[00:55:08] Speaker D: Okay.
O is going to pass freedom of.
[00:55:20] Speaker B: Movement on himself and yeah, I love it.
[00:55:24] Speaker D: Then if the DM would please, I'm going to go sit down and pour. Pour myself a glass of alcohol and sit on the couch.
[00:55:32] Speaker B: Okay. All right. Boz. You cast freedom of movement on yourself a spell with which you are well accustomed. And green vines sort of manage to grow up even from the cracks in between the stone around where you're standing. And as they wrap around your feet, you feel an energy surge through you and you tread across the room. Sit down on a couch, pull out a decanter. You've had some fine whiskeys before. And you pick out a high quality bourbon. And getting anything out here in lore must be expensive. And you open it and pour yourself a small glass and begin sipping.
Very unfamiliar taste. It's kind of.
There is a strong spice somewhere in the. In the bourbon, but it's like a spiced bourbon, but it's not bad at all. It's a very intense.
[00:56:13] Speaker D: Really likes it. And he like goes like. And he like sits on it and then he kind of like. Is the couch comfy?
[00:56:20] Speaker B: Very, incredibly.
[00:56:20] Speaker D: Is it like a couch that'd be good for napping? I'm not taking a nap.
[00:56:23] Speaker B: But I'm just wondering.
[00:56:24] Speaker D: That's how I gauge my couches.
[00:56:25] Speaker B: Is it like firm structure?
Okay. Okay. No, not quite. It's. It's a little more structured for, for sort of active conversation. But there you are, boss. Okay.
Next up initiative is Ro. We're moving back to combat.
[00:56:42] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:56:43] Speaker B: Ro, what are you doing? You heard Boz.
You are here. You're concentrating on the Thar's mistress mischief over here, which actually does technically reach this guy. So this guy needs to make a wisdom save now.
He fails.
Which. Which version of Nar's mischief are we on now?
[00:57:02] Speaker A: Well, I was.
[00:57:04] Speaker B: Unless you want to drop it.
[00:57:05] Speaker A: I was going to drop it.
[00:57:06] Speaker B: Okay, excellent. Don't worry about it. Thank you for giving me the heads up. Okay, so you relieve concentration on the spell.
[00:57:13] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:57:14] Speaker B: Number of guards are paused in the room. Seeing the verge of violence, but unsure of whether or not they want to resume it, a number of guards are charging in, seeming to heed their captain's order to attack. The captain is rushing this way. You and Craig have been surrounded by guards. What are you doing?
[00:57:32] Speaker A: Okay, so everyone within a 60ft.
Hold on. No, each humanoid within a 20 foot radius sphere centered on a point I choose. So if I, if I do it on. On myself, if I'm the. Oh my gosh, so many people. Yeah, if I do it on. If I'm the point of the 20, who all is that gonna get 20ft? Everyone around us?
[00:58:05] Speaker B: Yeah, that would be out to this guy.
[00:58:09] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:58:09] Speaker B: And then it'd be like everyone over here. Everyone on this side.
[00:58:15] Speaker A: Okay, so I'm going to use two charges of song splitter. Oh, to cast, to cast calm emotions on everyone in that 20 foot radius.
[00:58:33] Speaker B: Okay, Jackie, what's the spell save DC on that.
[00:58:38] Speaker A: So they must make a charisma saving throw. The spell save DC is 18, I believe. Let me make sure I rolled.
[00:58:47] Speaker B: Okay, I'll let you check real quick.
[00:58:52] Speaker A: Yeah, it's 18.
[00:58:53] Speaker B: Okay, well, I rolled two sixes and a 10.
[00:58:55] Speaker A: Oh, okay.
[00:58:57] Speaker B: So as you, as you play that. And here's what happens. As you. What does it look like? As you, as you cast calm emotions on songs.
[00:59:06] Speaker A: But I kind of play like, it's almost like, like, kind of like a lullaby version, except it's with song splitter, so it's crunchy of, of.
Of nifty.
[00:59:21] Speaker B: As a very.
[00:59:22] Speaker A: Yeah.
Everyone.
[00:59:26] Speaker B: Okay.
These gold and purple emanations move out and as they do, individuals, like all the individuals headed towards you with weapons, Craigs, the ones who are assailing you, kind of lower their weapons and you watch them kind of look at each other. Frederick fully steps backward and you watch one of the ones who stabbed a spear at you, Craig, that got deflected with your shield, just stops and kind of makes eye contact with Frederick. In this moment, Frederick fully takes a step to his back foot.
So these four guards who hadn't fully approached, they all like fully stop and start taking concerted looks around. Whereas these three who are around you all just kind of take a step backward and look concerned. One of them looks concerned. Leave the captain. From across the table, you can watch the captain's face filling with rage.
[01:00:05] Speaker A: And just so, just so everyone at the table know, you can make a target indifferent about a creature that's hostile toward you. Like all the creatures in the circle, the indifference ends if the target is attacked or, or harmed. By a spell or if it witnesses any of its friends being harmed. When the spell ends, the creature becomes hostile again. Until the OR unless the DM rules otherwise.
[01:00:27] Speaker B: But that's important clarification, Jackie. Thank you.
[01:00:30] Speaker C: Okay, so if we.
This spell ends.
[01:00:35] Speaker A: Or if they see their friends getting harmed, but it buys us a little.
[01:00:37] Speaker B: Anything else with you?
[01:00:38] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. So when I do that, I'm going to give a Bardican spell federation to Greta.
Huh?
[01:00:50] Speaker C: What dice is that? It's a D10.
[01:00:51] Speaker A: D10.
Yeah.
[01:00:54] Speaker B: And this guy fails as well and is also non hostile now.
[01:00:58] Speaker A: Okay, sick.
And then I'm gonna use my movement to go over.
I guess just move kind of a few feet over in between Greta and so like go 10ft over towards Greta. Yeah, because they're all chill right now.
[01:01:22] Speaker B: Okay, gotcha.
Okay. Fascinating.
Greta, it's your turn. What are you doing?
And tell. It was on deck after that.
[01:01:34] Speaker C: Greta is. I hope you guys heard that. I really. That was for y'.
[01:01:37] Speaker E: All.
[01:01:38] Speaker A: I didn't hear.
[01:01:39] Speaker C: Is going to.
She's going to use her action to disengage.
[01:01:50] Speaker B: Oh, it is fully. Any. Any character can do it before you do that, Abby. And that is sick. Way to read your rules. You did just watch this guy get affected by the spell.
The guy in front of you. And he does look like he's no longer non violent. So thank you.
[01:02:06] Speaker C: I'm not gonna use my action for something that I don't need to use for dm.
Thank you.
[01:02:11] Speaker B: Got your back, dude. You did see that? You did see.
[01:02:14] Speaker C: I wish I could mark on this, but I'm gonna just slip around him. I'm gonna go towards. Take a step towards row five. 10, 15, 20, 25 to step into the staircase.
[01:02:26] Speaker B: Okay, you're five feet up. Let me put a little marker down.
And Greta is leaving.
[01:02:33] Speaker C: I think.
I think. Oh, I'm gonna use my bonus action to.
Because I heard. I heard what Boz said.
I'm just gonna say boss said go upstairs.
[01:02:47] Speaker B: Okay.
All right. And the fun guys are slowly leaving the encounter. Really something.
[01:02:54] Speaker C: Use my action to dash.
[01:02:57] Speaker B: That's okay. And Greta leaves and joins B upstairs. Wow.
Years of deal. You start to. You get to a place where you start to think like, I know what's happening. No, you don't.
Phenomenal.
Tello's up. What's Tello doing?
[01:03:15] Speaker C: Tell is okay. Has so movementified. He's gonna.
[01:03:20] Speaker B: This guy looks passive. These two guys still look quite angry.
[01:03:27] Speaker C: Okay, let me do some counting. 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35. So he could get 10ft up the stairs. Correct. If I go towards.
[01:03:36] Speaker B: He wanted to dash. He could get all the way up the stairs.
[01:03:39] Speaker C: I don't want him down.
[01:03:41] Speaker B: Okay, then he could get 10ft up the stairs.
[01:03:44] Speaker C: Would he provoke an opportunity attack? If he went. If he took like a step to.
[01:03:48] Speaker B: His left, he would like, right. Okay. If he went 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35. Yeah, he would. He would just provoke one, rather.
[01:03:58] Speaker C: Okay, I'm gonna do that on. My poor little boy.
[01:04:02] Speaker B: Okay, here he is 10ft up stairs. So any more movement and he'll get up to the second floor or a little more.
Another 10ft of movement.
[01:04:15] Speaker C: Okay, wait, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I wanted to take an action while he was still in that place, I think.
Okay, before he moves, I want to cast the spell Grease.
And I'm trying to figure out where.
[01:04:31] Speaker B: Fascinating.
[01:04:32] Speaker C: Actually, no, okay.
[01:04:37] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:04:38] Speaker C: I'm thinking.
[01:04:38] Speaker B: I'm trying to figure out how to pressure you. Absolutely. I will need a ruling soon.
[01:04:42] Speaker C: Yes. Yes. He's gonna cast Grease.
He is going to cast it.
Do you see where credit. Do you see those two guys? One guy is close to the throne and one guy is.
Yes. Do you see there's a guy right up in front of the guy that is kind of next to Craig, back towards you?
Yes. The square to the left of him.
Yes. If I cast it there, would it affect Craig?
[01:05:13] Speaker B: What's the Radius on Greece?
[01:05:15] Speaker C: 10 foot square.
[01:05:17] Speaker B: You would not hit Craig.
[01:05:19] Speaker C: Okay, and that is that within 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30? Yes.
[01:05:25] Speaker B: Okay. Yes.
Okay.
[01:05:39] Speaker C: Okay.
[01:05:39] Speaker B: So Tello just reaches out a hand and says, here goes nothing. And as a little silver magic flashes Grease just across the floor.
We'll see if those guys manage to remain upright.
And then he ducks away from this guy and around to the stairwell.
Nat 20 to hit him.
So Tella will take Nat 20 spear.
[01:06:08] Speaker D: Does Craig in range to use protection or.
[01:06:10] Speaker B: No?
[01:06:11] Speaker C: No, it has to be within 5ft.
[01:06:15] Speaker B: So he takes 12 points of piercing as he ducks away.
A spear just gets him in the back and jabs him in the back.
[01:06:20] Speaker C: He's affected by rose spell.
[01:06:22] Speaker A: Right.
[01:06:25] Speaker C: He has. He also has the 12 points. The 12.
[01:06:29] Speaker B: Yeah. Okay, so you still have foil points? Okay, Absolutely.
Okay, that is Tello's turn now. It's the captain.
His. His eyes widening, rage spreading across his face. He just bellows and he says, you all are sworn to the people of Lore. You are bearded at your post, and your children will fall.
And he Is going to check. He's taking.
[01:06:59] Speaker A: 10.
[01:07:00] Speaker B: Let's make a little check for him.
[01:07:03] Speaker C: He's jumping over the table.
[01:07:05] Speaker B: He is. And he's succeeding in jumping over the table. 20.
Let's take some attention. Attacks at row.
[01:07:11] Speaker D: Do you know that. That scene in Star wars, the new one, where it's like, traitor. Like, that's. That's the vibe right now.
[01:07:17] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:07:18] Speaker D: Silver armor.
[01:07:19] Speaker B: Disadvantage.
[01:07:20] Speaker E: Yes, disadvantage.
[01:07:24] Speaker B: Thank you. But thank you for reminding me, Micah. Even at disadvantage, he got a 23 to hit row.
[01:07:30] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, that hits.
[01:07:32] Speaker B: Your next one is going to be a 19.
[01:07:37] Speaker A: What's he hitting me with?
[01:07:40] Speaker B: A halberd.
[01:07:41] Speaker A: Okay, can I use my react. Can I use my reaction against that?
[01:07:46] Speaker B: If you read the details and see what proctors the reaction.
[01:07:52] Speaker A: I can manifest protective wings that can shield me or others. When another creature you can see within five feet of me or me is hit by an attack roll, you can use reaction.
[01:08:01] Speaker B: Use that on one of the.
[01:08:02] Speaker A: Those.
[01:08:02] Speaker B: Yeah, use that on one of those.
[01:08:05] Speaker A: I grant a bonus to my target's ac, equal to my proficiency bonus against the tack attack roll.
Oh, can I not do this until. If you've already rolled.
[01:08:15] Speaker B: No, you can.
[01:08:17] Speaker A: I mean, I still doesn't think it.
[01:08:19] Speaker B: Makes any difference, but.
Well, what's your AC?
[01:08:23] Speaker A: It's 13, so that's gonna be an 18.
[01:08:30] Speaker B: Flash out around you and still the halberd as he brings two large slashes down.
They come across you, and your magical arbor absorbs some of it, but they. The fewer anger and fury he has, moves past your wings and hits you anyway. He's also with Polearm Master. He's going to take a third attack, which is also going to be a 19.
[01:08:48] Speaker A: Do I need to make a constitution?
[01:08:51] Speaker B: You will in a second, but let me give you some damage first.
[01:08:53] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:08:54] Speaker B: You're going to take rude three.
Thirteen plus six is.
That's going to be 19 plus.
You're going to take 21 points of damage.
[01:09:09] Speaker A: Okay, of what kind? Just so I can mark it slashing.
[01:09:14] Speaker B: And then one of bludgeoning as he slashes across you with a long into the halberd and then thuds you over the head with the end of it. So you're gonna need to be with a 21. You need to beat D.C. 10.
Concentration check. So concentration saving throw.
The energy in the room is tense.
[01:09:33] Speaker A: I'm gonna use my. I'm gonna use my inspiration because I rolled a NAT1O. Okay, so I have inspiration, so I'm gonna use that.
Glad I used it. That's a 19.
[01:09:49] Speaker B: Excellent. Ro.
The hard slashes carve across your armor, and you begin to bleed from multiple strikes. The wings block some of the damage, the magical wings granted by the lech, and your armor absorbs some of it. But you're still wounded and you're feeling the slash, and you have a bruise on the side of your cheek. And he's just seething at you.
And the room is tense. So many of the guards are stuck on whether or not to attack you.
It is at a bizarre place in the room.
Next up in the Initiative is Craig. And then the guards go. So, Craig, you're right here. All of these guards have become non violent.
This one still looks confused. These guys look undecided.
And these two guards here are attempting to make attacks. And there is a very clear tension in the room as to what happens next.
[01:10:42] Speaker E: Not attack the captain, because if we do.
[01:10:50] Speaker B: I mean, technically speaking, I think maybe Craig shouldn't know that. But you do. So what do you. I don't know. Do with that what you will.
[01:11:02] Speaker E: I can't defend row right now without the spell.
[01:11:07] Speaker B: It's up to you. What choice do you make?
What choice do you make, Micah?
[01:11:13] Speaker E: I want to try to cat cast magic circle on the staircase.
[01:11:20] Speaker B: Okay, Craig, you reach to your holy symbol, hold out a sand, a hand, and as you reach it out at the staircase, there is no flare of magic, and your tongue produces no magical words.
And you feel in this moment, as you try your second time, you feel absolutely no connection. You feel no.
[01:11:42] Speaker E: Are you kidding me?
[01:11:42] Speaker B: You feel no flare. You feel no power.
It's as if your magic isted my.
[01:11:48] Speaker E: Whole action on that. That's so frustrating.
That's so frustrating.
[01:11:53] Speaker B: What are you doing with your.
It's very frustrating. What are you doing with your bonus action or so?
[01:12:10] Speaker E: Oh, one second.
I'm trying to find. Lay on hands.
Okay.
I would like to go if I can.
Would I. Okay. If I went to row and tried to heal her, would I put myself in a position where I would be attacked by the captain?
[01:12:41] Speaker B: If you were on this side of her, you are not within range of his attacks.
[01:12:50] Speaker E: Okay.
Obviously, I can't cast anything.
Well, is that casting? Lay on hands. Is that. Oh, that is cast.
[01:13:03] Speaker B: Why don't you give me a. Why don't give. Give me an arcana check. Crick, you've been a paladin for a hot second. You've started to gain a mastery over your magic.
Hi, Mayo.
Maya came and joined us for the comment.
[01:13:15] Speaker E: I really am not feeling this right now because I just got a Three.
[01:13:22] Speaker A: Nope.
[01:13:22] Speaker E: Wait, wait, wait. It is technically.
It is technically a seven, okay?
[01:13:29] Speaker B: No, it's not like a seven means you're, like.
You know, you're not dumb.
But, Craig, it's just. It's just unclear, right? You're not sure this.
This ability might function. Maybe it won't. You just don't know. It's up to your interpretation as. Micah, what are you doing?
[01:13:49] Speaker E: Craig, I'm gonna use part of my move. I'm gonna use my movement to heal her back to full health.
[01:13:58] Speaker B: Craig, you walk up to the back of Ro. You hold your symbol in one hand. You place your hand on Ro's shoulder, and as you go to mutter incantations, your tongue is not able to form any deepest speech, and no magic flows from you to Ro.
It appears your magic is altogether not functioning.
[01:14:13] Speaker E: Absolutely.
[01:14:14] Speaker A: Great.
[01:14:14] Speaker E: Okay, so I'm gonna start walking to the.
[01:14:25] Speaker B: Now, that was 10ft of movement. If you care, you have 15 more.
[01:14:29] Speaker A: Yep.
[01:14:35] Speaker E: No, I'm going to stick beside row because if something happens, I want to be here.
[01:14:39] Speaker B: Do you want to.
Do you want to make a strategies check for me on this one? On this one? Craig, this is given a feature you've already utilized in combat. If you want to make. This is something in your wheelhouse. You want to make a strategies check?
Lando, in your defense from earlier.
First of all, sorry, it came out rude. Second of all, it is unclear when I do and don't utilize those.
Sorry, Very arbitrary. I don't know. I can. I could see how that would proctor questions. I apologize.
Would you get in your strategy?
[01:15:11] Speaker E: I'm gonna do night. So it was a 19.
[01:15:15] Speaker B: That's phenomenal.
That's a great check.
You are aware that, of course. Of course you would be putting yourself in some amount of harm's way, but if you went and stood by Roe, even if you didn't use a weapon on anyone, you would still be able to offer the abilities of your shield that you've grown so skilled with. So if you went and stood here, you would put yourself in some amount of danger, but you would also offer the ability to protect Ro from her aggressor. Do you choose to move there?
Yeah. Okay.
Craig, in the startled confusion of whatever's going on in this bizarre moment, in a tense moment of need and desperation, your magics don't function, and you're confused what's happening, but you still choose to go stand by your ally. And as you stand there with your shield ready to defend, you watch as another dwarven man meets your gaze. And you can see rage in his eyes and hate that takes it to. To the guards.
Oh, man.
Okay, first of all, I'm gonna make some Dex saves.
What's tello's spell? Save D.C. well, that's. Those are both under 10. Okay, don't worry about it, Abby, because every roll was under 10. I'm Zach, this is the way.
Also, let Noah know, you know, just let Noah know that he's not alone. You know, there's just Kapang from this side of the room as four people. Actually, I guess it's not that much metal in their armor. It's some metal in some pappage.
These four guys all fall prone because they're in the grease.
They're like.
They're not doing. They all take a point of superficial bludgeoning or something. I don't know. They're down.
These.
These soldiers are going to move in around to their captain borders and I'll make a persuasion check on behalf of the captain Fares. That's not bad.
Oh, he has a minus one to charisma.
[01:17:21] Speaker A: But if. What if I. What if I flitter my eyelashes and make a persuasion check?
[01:17:27] Speaker B: One more guard steps to his eighth. 5, 10.
[01:17:31] Speaker A: Oh, 5:30.
[01:17:32] Speaker B: 35. No, actually he could have gotten to here, so. But these appear to be the only five guards in the room aggressing you all and everyone else love. It seems to be like stopped in place watching the expressions of the guards all around the room are.
I mean, guards all around the space look like there's a complicated. Oh, Micah, your picture just suddenly got much better and I don't. Oh yeah, I see you very clearly now.
A number of guards in the room look like they are in the middle of a very complicated inner conflict themselves.
But these five look clearly aggressive to you. So now we're gonna have a bunch of attacks.
First we're gonna take an attack on row.
That is a nat one as. As this guard pulls out a short swords and strikes at at row.
How is it that you protect her as a spear out towards her?
[01:18:29] Speaker E: I'm going to say I'm just going to use my shield.
[01:18:34] Speaker B: Block it. Okay, Ro, there is absolutely a deft dodge from you. Sorry, I didn't mean to take that from you. I apologize.
As you dodge out of the way and the spirit goes by Craig's shield, that circular buckler covered in crystal, that gorgeous new magical shield you have. Craig whiffs around and knocks the spear away.
Now there's gonna be so many attacks on Craig. He's super ultra Omega uber Duper flanked. So they're all gonna be at advantage.
There's a. Does an 18 hit, Craig?
Oh, okay.
There's a Nat 20 for a 22. Total of 22. No, Micah, a 22.
You have an AC of 21. Yeah, but the next one's an at Micah.
Unless they crit, they cannot hit you. And so only one guard succeeds in striking you because your AC is so high.
So, Craig, you face a number of ardent and stalwart warriors, but none of them have your experience or your skill or the incredibly powerful magic items you possess. And strikes are bouncing off of your shield and being deflected away with your sword. You are succeed in defeating people in combat without even striking them.
But you do take.
You do take 10 points of piercing damage from a spear that jabs you in the shoulder.
Those are the guards. We're back to the top of Initiative with boss Boz. You are muted. This is the way.
[01:20:18] Speaker D: It's a spiral staircase, right?
Exactly.
[01:20:20] Speaker B: It is a spiral staircase, yes.
[01:20:22] Speaker D: So I can walk down to the inside of it and then, like, look down at them fighting, right?
[01:20:27] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
[01:20:29] Speaker D: All right, all right. I'm gonna walk down at them fighting, and I'm gonna be like, are y' all still fighting?
[01:20:37] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:20:38] Speaker D: And I'm gonna. I'm gonna look at the guy. I'm gonna look at the door filled with rage. And it's pretty apparent that, like, a lot of these people, like, are, like, hovering around, not approaching, like, what do we do?
I'm gonna. I'm gonna look at.
I'm gonna look at the captain, and I'm gonna say. And I'm going to cast Polymorph on him.
[01:21:05] Speaker B: Okay, that's a wisdom saving throw, inexplicably, right?
[01:21:08] Speaker D: Yes.
[01:21:11] Speaker B: What's your spell save?
[01:21:12] Speaker D: 19.
[01:21:16] Speaker A: Um.
[01:21:20] Speaker B: With a 19.
Boz, as you look down the stairs and say, are you all still fighting? And as you reach outward with your incredibly brilliant and magical hand, and it shines with light, the captain looks up at you, and he quakes and falls into the edge of the table and then just bares his teeth. There's a little bit of blood on his lip, grips his halberd. And with a 19, he saves against your spell saving.
And he growls back at you simply.
What does he say?
The encount endured before you, and he'll endure after.
And any other movement or.
[01:22:00] Speaker D: Yeah, I'm gonna. Bonus action. Vicious mockery him. And I'm saying, sure, bud.
And then he has to make another wisdom save.
[01:22:09] Speaker B: He does.
He is going to fail.
So go ahead and roll Damage.
As he sputters and blood pours out of his nose again. He's knocked against the table. Calm emotions fades.
And all of these individuals are subject to their right minds.
[01:22:30] Speaker D: But Oz didn't see that, so he didn't know that they were calm.
[01:22:34] Speaker B: Sure. Hey, that's.
[01:22:35] Speaker A: Hey, you're good, bud.
[01:22:36] Speaker B: Combat's not about getting everything right. Right.
[01:22:38] Speaker D: That's not.
Oz thinks he's doing great. Boswell the seven on his dot and his daughter Damage. So not as. For some reason, not as vicious as the last thing he said, even though it was funnier.
[01:22:48] Speaker B: Yes, the much. The much better concert constructed and topically appropriate moment does far less damage to him. But, you know, numbers.
Okay. Anything else, boss? In your turn.
[01:23:04] Speaker D: I'm going to hang out at the top of the stairs.
[01:23:07] Speaker B: Okay. Like, looking down at them, it's confusing. How to put that on the map? Can you just know you're there?
[01:23:13] Speaker D: Yeah, yeah, no worries.
[01:23:14] Speaker B: I didn't prepare for that possibility.
[01:23:15] Speaker D: I'm, like, 30ft above them on a staircase, right?
[01:23:19] Speaker B: Yeah. 15ft up. Yeah.
[01:23:21] Speaker D: 15. 15ft up.
[01:23:23] Speaker B: Yes. Yes. Not that it particularly matters, but I don't know accuracy.
Ro.
[01:23:29] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:23:29] Speaker B: You are down there surrounded by enemies. Craig is being carried from every side. And the captain looks enraged in front of you, figures all around the room are stuck at an impasse. And Boz is laying down some slick sass from the top of the stairs. And the captain looks like he's being affected but still doing fairly well.
[01:23:45] Speaker A: Where's Tello exactly? Is he at the bottom of the stairs?
[01:23:49] Speaker B: He is halfway up the staircase.
[01:23:51] Speaker A: He's halfway up the stairs. Okay.
[01:23:53] Speaker B: Yep.
[01:23:55] Speaker A: So looking up now with Boz, I am going.
I'm going to say that.
Can I say that with my perception?
I have noticed that for some reason, Craig's trying to do magic, and it's not working.
[01:24:09] Speaker B: It's like sputtering with your 20. Passive perception, for sure.
[01:24:13] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:24:14] Speaker B: Sick. Yes.
You and Greta don't see all, but you're not that far from it, you know?
[01:24:20] Speaker A: Okay, if I were just as a question, if I were to do an arcana check to try and figure that out, would that be an action?
[01:24:29] Speaker B: Oh, sorry.
[01:24:31] Speaker A: No, that's okay.
[01:24:31] Speaker B: Too fasty? Too quick?
No, I.
I see checks as actions sometimes. Absolutely. But I rule the majority of checks as bonus actions. Now. There are absolutely some that are. But, yeah, I'm gonna. I would call that a bonus action.
[01:24:46] Speaker A: Okay, I'm gonna bonus action. And. And just, like, think in my head, like, okay, what's going on with his magic and do an arcana check, I guess.
[01:24:55] Speaker B: Religion check.
[01:24:56] Speaker A: Oh, religion. Okay.
[01:24:57] Speaker B: For your paladin, I'm good with that. Fairly high D.C.
i'm gonna call this.
To intuit anything accurately about this very random occurrence, I'm gonna call this a 25 DC. 25.
[01:25:09] Speaker C: Dang it.
[01:25:12] Speaker A: If I would have rolled anything but what I just rolled.
No, that's gonna be.
That's an 18, mind you. I rolled a three.
[01:25:28] Speaker B: Holy crap.
That's terrifying. The wheels are turning and you're pondering ideas, certainly, but nothing's coming to you clearly. Ro, what. What about your action or your movement?
[01:25:39] Speaker A: Yeah. So for my action, where did. Is Greta? All the way up the staircase as well.
[01:25:46] Speaker B: Greta's gone.
[01:25:46] Speaker A: Yeah, she went up the staircase on the second floor.
I feel like. I feel. I feel bad doing this to you as the dm, but I'm gonna. I'm gonna grab.
I'm gonna put my hand on Craig and I'm gonna cast dimension door and put us at the. On the bottom step or like below step.
Well, isn't.
[01:26:11] Speaker B: Is it Make a perception. Make a perception check for me, Ro. You could. You might be able to see. See up into the room up the spiral staircase.
[01:26:17] Speaker A: But I thought boss was at the top of the staircase.
[01:26:20] Speaker D: I'm like, give me a perception.
[01:26:22] Speaker C: Okay.
[01:26:23] Speaker B: Give me a perception check. There's some space around.
[01:26:26] Speaker A: That's a no.
[01:26:26] Speaker D: You guys don't know how to sell.
You ask for the best option and then take.
[01:26:32] Speaker B: I. I appreciate players who do their best to. To conform to the details as they exist around you don't quite see.
[01:26:46] Speaker A: So Ro and the guards are blocking me.
[01:26:50] Speaker B: Yes, absolutely. You know what? I love it, Jackie. That's exactly what's happening. Yes, bro. You're just a little too short.
You could certainly take you and Craig anywhere else in the room.
You could take your. You could put yourselves on the staircase, but you can't get all the way up through it.
[01:27:07] Speaker A: Yeah, I. That's what I was saying. I was gonna do it where I put us at the. At the. At the bottom stair.
[01:27:13] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:27:14] Speaker A: On the bottom stair.
[01:27:15] Speaker B: With a strong of your loot and a hand on Craig.
Blades and weapons. Swing by your head, Craig, as you and Ro and appear with a burst of magic next to the staircase on the other side. The guards look stunned for a second. The captain is wheeling his head around just noticing your movement.
Okay.
Anything else with your turn?
[01:27:33] Speaker A: Is that. Are we on the staircase or right in front of us?
[01:27:36] Speaker B: Yes.
[01:27:37] Speaker A: Okay, cool.
No, that's it? That's all I can do.
[01:27:45] Speaker B: Okay, if you want, Ro, and I'm not prompting you to make this choice.
[01:27:53] Speaker A: Oh, I can make movement.
Well, I can have movement.
[01:27:56] Speaker B: You can't go up the staircase cuz Tello is blocking it. Yeah, but here's the thing. If you want, I will say in this circumstance that you can hold movement if you want.
I don't think you can do that all the time, but I think right now you can because why can't you run up the stairs? Now Tello's in the way. But if Tello moves up the stairs on his turn, and I'm not saying he will, but if he does, then you can come behind him.
[01:28:16] Speaker A: Okay, I'd like to do that then, please.
[01:28:19] Speaker B: Okay, Greta and tello.
[01:28:21] Speaker A: Yeah, hold 30ft of movement or whatever, Greta.
[01:28:24] Speaker C: So Greta's already in the room, correct?
[01:28:27] Speaker B: Greta.
[01:28:28] Speaker A: And I was over in the room.
[01:28:31] Speaker C: I was over in the room.
[01:28:34] Speaker B: I'm gonna deserve that before the end of tonight.
Greta, you're in. The room above it is, as I described it, a lush meeting conference area. You can hear the sound of conflict below.
You hear Tello's voice. Not far down the staircase. Boz has casually walked back over the edge, accosted the captain once more, attempted a spell which seemed not to function. And you're just up there in this room. What are you doing?
[01:28:57] Speaker C: Is there a door between?
[01:29:00] Speaker B: There is. There is a door on the opposites.
[01:29:01] Speaker C: On the opposite wall, is there a door between.
[01:29:06] Speaker B: There's one door. There's the spiral staircase and.
[01:29:09] Speaker C: I see, I see.
[01:29:10] Speaker B: Okay, a very valid question.
[01:29:13] Speaker C: What's the entrance from the staircase to the room?
[01:29:16] Speaker A: I'm.
[01:29:16] Speaker C: I'm. My question is, I'm wondering to look around the room and see if. If there is something that I could push in front of the entrance to the room.
[01:29:26] Speaker B: Yes.
It is not. It is not a staircase that comes up through a wall to empty into the room. It is a spiral staircase which comes up through the floor. There is a hole in the floor.
Walk up into it and railing that goes around.
[01:29:40] Speaker C: Okay, there's a railing around it.
Okay. What is. What Is there a piece of furniture in the room that I could push in front of the.
[01:29:51] Speaker B: There's quite a bit of furniture. You get the feeling doing so now would prevent any of your allies from coming up? Yeah.
[01:29:58] Speaker C: Okay. I'm just trying to get a gauge.
[01:30:01] Speaker B: But there are certainly large, heavy pieces of furniture in the room. There's a bookcase. There's a very large wooden table in the middle of the Room that looks huge. There's some couches, some large chairs.
[01:30:11] Speaker C: I'm going to go over to the door and try the handle.
[01:30:16] Speaker B: Okay, Greta, you walk up to it and we'll call that 15ft of movement. I don't know. We're still technically in combat. You put a hand on the door, and as you open it, it gives and clicks.
[01:30:27] Speaker C: I'm going to peek in what's inside.
[01:30:29] Speaker B: Okay.
That's just a free action. As you look in, There is a 10 foot walkway to another door.
Just a little connecting hall. Tiny little thing.
[01:30:41] Speaker C: Okay, I'm gonna just wait there. I guess I'm gonna close the door and.
[01:30:49] Speaker B: Thrill of combat, y'. All.
We move back to you. Can't get this anywhere else. Only barely D and D.
See you in a second, Lando.
Okay, we go back to initiative. Oh, with Tello.
[01:31:06] Speaker C: Oh, tell him run up the staircase.
[01:31:09] Speaker B: Yeah, that's right. He is. Tello's up there now. He runs up.
Okay, what's the plan here, you all?
[01:31:17] Speaker C: Once everyone gets up, I want to move something heavy over the entrance.
[01:31:21] Speaker B: Okay? All right.
And he just goes and stands on one side of a piece of furniture.
That's where he is.
[01:31:31] Speaker A: My held movement does that. When do I.
[01:31:34] Speaker B: You did. You did. Thank you, thank you, thank you. And Ro is up the stairs as well.
Ro runs up the stairs.
The captain, he looks around at the room and he just growls.
I'm not surprised by your lack of loyalty, but I am surprised by your lack of value of your lives.
Hunt them or die.
And he's gonna make intimidation check at advantage given the context of their lives.
Okay.
He shouts out, you all do not know the outcome.
What?
[01:32:19] Speaker C: We don't know what's happening in the these individual characters minds.
[01:32:22] Speaker A: Dare you not let us know that?
[01:32:23] Speaker B: Craig, you're up in initiative.
[01:32:26] Speaker E: I bet you can't guess what I'm going to do.
[01:32:30] Speaker B: I'm going to run crafted combat. Probably not.
And I'm running up those stairs.
Okay, Craig, you bolt up the stairs and you're up.
[01:32:46] Speaker E: Christian.
Yes, I try casting magic. Circle.
[01:32:52] Speaker B: Okay. You run up to the top of the stairs, and your magic does not connect at all. There's no spell.
Craig, Something like your. Your magic isn't like starting. You're turning the keys in the engine, and the engine's not even turning over.
[01:33:05] Speaker E: And then can I immediately, like, run into helping Greta move heavy stuff in front of the.
[01:33:11] Speaker B: Well, I'm gonna say with your action and possibly other people's held actions, what piece of furniture is everyone trying to Put over the COVID to the stairway.
[01:33:18] Speaker C: Coming up, something really heavy.
[01:33:21] Speaker B: That would be furniture in the room is the table in the middle. If you flip that over and slid that over, that would be an incredibly blocked door, especially if something else was on top.
[01:33:29] Speaker A: I would like to assist with that.
[01:33:31] Speaker B: Then can I.
[01:33:32] Speaker A: Strength.
[01:33:33] Speaker B: Craig, how about you get an athletics check with help from everyone.
And the DC is lowered because four people tell is also involved.
[01:33:40] Speaker C: Greta's helping too.
[01:33:42] Speaker B: Okay, so Craig, that's going. Athletics check. Usually I'd call this DC20. To do it this fast. All four of you are going to lower it to DC15.
And don't forget your per diem if you haven't already used it.
[01:33:57] Speaker E: Per diem.
[01:34:01] Speaker C: This is strength. What is it? I'm sorry, I forgot.
[01:34:06] Speaker B: Yeah, well, you guys aren't making a check, but you can roll if you want.
[01:34:10] Speaker E: Going to use my Bruno, the sided one.
[01:34:13] Speaker B: I am.
[01:34:14] Speaker C: I'm helping.
[01:34:15] Speaker B: Yeah. The help action is giving another creature advantage. There we go. Now if you want to roll and then have me average in your roll with Craig. I can. Okay, well, that'll do it, Craig.
Everyone else is helpful.
Everyone does help push the table. Everyone is in the process of trying to start pushing the table when Craig runs over the opposite side, puts his hands over shoulder, presses it, and the entire 250 pound table just.
And then all four of you all grind it across the floor, scraping the wood against the stone and it over the stairwell. And the moment it slides over you, you hear a great deal of shouting from the room below and the movement of armored feet.
Okay, for a moment. We are out of initiative. We might return to it right now. We are not in it. What's the party doing?
[01:35:12] Speaker C: I have an action. I would like to perform an action, please.
[01:35:15] Speaker B: Well, you're not in Initiative anymore, so just do stuff. Please let me perform an action.
Okay. If you really want permission, you can have it.
[01:35:23] Speaker C: Maybe. Maybe that Earl Gray that I have had almost fully has had it. Had two capfuls of maple syrup and the normal caffeine that's in an Earl gray. And it's 8:30 and I had a long day, so I don't know.
[01:35:39] Speaker B: The last couple of times that I played.
[01:35:44] Speaker E: Would you put in that Earl Gray?
[01:35:50] Speaker C: So tello.
Actually, I'm gonna hold. I'm gonna wait.
[01:35:57] Speaker B: Oh, my goodness. Abby. Okay, what's everyone else doing?
[01:36:02] Speaker A: Okay, so I'm taking in the room real quick because I. I haven't been up here. What did. What did we say was behind the. The other door? Or did we not know.
Okay.
I say to.
[01:36:21] Speaker B: I love how everybody's still in combat mentality. Everyone's like, I don't know.
[01:36:24] Speaker A: I say to the. I say to the party. I go, okay, what. What's the plan? Do we zap out of here, or do we try to find the Count? Or what are we thinking?
[01:36:40] Speaker C: Because they're coming up.
I think that if we leave, is.
[01:36:45] Speaker B: It about this time that you all can hear?
[01:36:48] Speaker C: I think we gotta go to that door.
[01:36:51] Speaker B: I think it's very heavy, and I'm just gonna go ahead and say, if you're okay with it, Micah, with your common sense and strength in this time. Craig also puts a couch on top of the upturn table. It doesn't look like it's going anywhere anytime soon. Like, you guys can tell very quickly. It's gonna take a long time for them to chop through this. You also hear a great deal of shouting and yelling from the room below.
Multiple voices.
[01:37:11] Speaker C: Can I. Can we see down the. Down the.
[01:37:14] Speaker B: Down the staircase before a very large table and couch was put on top of it. You certainly could have. Now there's a very large table and couch over it.
[01:37:23] Speaker C: Okay.
[01:37:25] Speaker B: There's, like, corners of unfilled space. But it's not like you'd have to go stand over it and, like, put your eye to it. And then there'd be a little face or something sharp could go, you know. Okay.
[01:37:34] Speaker C: Okay, I'm going. I. Yeah, like, we're. I think we should go. I mean, we have one way.
[01:37:39] Speaker A: If.
[01:37:40] Speaker C: If we zap out of here, he's gonna come for our friends and family.
[01:37:45] Speaker A: Yeah, but what if he's not even here?
Like, is he. Is he watching us right now? Like, is he watching us right now?
[01:37:55] Speaker C: Greta holds up a. A distinctly rude hand gesture to the sky.
[01:38:01] Speaker B: Gesture.
[01:38:02] Speaker A: A vulgar gesture.
[01:38:04] Speaker B: Yes, a vulgar gesture is held up toward the ceiling.
[01:38:12] Speaker C: And then she. Yeah, I'm like, we gotta go. Okay, we should go.
[01:38:18] Speaker A: Should we. This might be bad. This might provoke him, but should we send to him, see if we can figure out where he's at? Okay.
[01:38:24] Speaker C: No, I mean, we only have one way that we can go.
[01:38:27] Speaker B: That is the fastest Abby's ever responded in this campaign. No, no. Don't know.
[01:38:34] Speaker A: Okay, I guess let's. Yeah, go through.
[01:38:36] Speaker B: Go.
[01:38:36] Speaker C: I don't wanna. I don't wanna. I don't wanna give him the time today.
[01:38:40] Speaker A: Should I put any. Should I put any, like, any thing right in front of this table? So when they start coming through, Tello.
[01:38:48] Speaker C: Says, well, I was going to cast Grease, but I just. I did a. I did a quick. I did a quick thinking in my head. And Greece wouldn't last long enough for the. For the it to be relevant.
[01:38:58] Speaker A: That's true. Mine wouldn't either.
[01:39:00] Speaker B: I'm really stressed out. Yeah, it's a terrible idea. I don't think my spell would last that long.
[01:39:04] Speaker A: Okay. Yeah, same. Okay, yeah.
[01:39:05] Speaker B: Let's just go as where you all are talking in the room. You can hear now a great deal of shouting. Oh, and it's voices. There's the thudding on the door has stopped.
And it appears though now no one is trying to move the table anymore. And you all can hear a great deal of shouting back and forth voices over each other.
Ro and Greta, especially with your passive perceptions. It's being muffled by the door right now. Or by the table, not the door. But you walk strangely that individuals downstairs are shouting at other. Each. Each other guards are shing. Are shouting back and forth at other guards. And the captain is shouting back and forth at other guards.
[01:39:52] Speaker C: They are. They are. They know where we are. They know where this castle. Are there any windows in the room?
[01:39:58] Speaker B: DM There are not. There's.
[01:40:01] Speaker C: Okay. We have one exit. We got to get a head start.
[01:40:04] Speaker B: And actually how high your perceptions are. Someone can make. Yep, go ahead. Sorry.
[01:40:09] Speaker A: Oh, what?
[01:40:13] Speaker B: Check to know more than can, can.
[01:40:16] Speaker A: Or who's doing it. Me can. Me and Abby both make it.
[01:40:20] Speaker B: Sure.
[01:40:20] Speaker A: At the same time.
[01:40:21] Speaker B: You can too, if you want.
[01:40:22] Speaker C: Oh, that's got a 10.
[01:40:24] Speaker A: I got.
[01:40:26] Speaker B: You can't.
[01:40:28] Speaker A: I got a 17.
[01:40:30] Speaker B: Okay, there's a no for Micah.
Greta, the adrenaline's pumping in your ears, but, bro, you can make out that there is an incredibly heated argument's the wrong word.
A multi membered screaming match is breaking out downstairs between different guards. And you can hear that the captain is shouting screaming orders.
And like a. It sounds kind of like a. Some sort of a conflict is brewing.
That's what you're hearing.
[01:41:12] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:41:13] Speaker B: Other people said they were doing things with the door. Is that still correct?
[01:41:16] Speaker A: I was just saying I'm opening the.
[01:41:17] Speaker C: Door and like, come on, guys, let's get our butts a little moving.
[01:41:20] Speaker A: And as we. As we run, I use my cure wounds from gift of the metallic Dragon. So you see like a gold, like, wing kind of like come and go. And I cast cure wounds without using a spell slot. And I actually rolled an 8 on the D8. So I got 13 points of healing back. I'm back up a little bit.
[01:41:37] Speaker B: Phenomenal you all. Landon, quick. Hello. Welcome back.
[01:41:43] Speaker A: Hi.
[01:41:43] Speaker B: Way to be a killer, dad. And, you know, priorities. That's good.
Everyone is up in the room. You all upturned the heavy table and put it over the staircase, as well as a couch on top of that.
The guards were trying to get in through it for a little bit, and they've stopped. You all are discussing trying to get out or something.
The guards were shouting at each other for a while, and then Ro just was able to hear and perceive that the guards are currently the captain and some of the guards are having a screaming match with other guards. And it sounds like some sort of a.
An argument is breaking out downstairs, like a conflict between them. And you all have opened the first door and see the small passageway to another door on the other side.
[01:42:26] Speaker D: Okay, guys.
[01:42:28] Speaker A: And I had said, should we. Should we zap out or should we call the couch?
[01:42:32] Speaker D: One of us should go out. One of us should go out to the top of the stairs and talk to them. Do they sound like they're on the stairs or, like, below us?
[01:42:41] Speaker C: We put a couch and a table on top of the staircase.
[01:42:46] Speaker D: Zachary, does it sound like they're on the stairs? Does it sound like they're.
[01:42:49] Speaker B: Like the voices sound further away? It sounds like everybody's off the stairs now. And. And there is. There is screaming from downstairs.
[01:42:57] Speaker D: All right, Someone has to go down there. I.
We need to help them. This is.
[01:43:03] Speaker B: They're.
[01:43:03] Speaker D: They're literally arguing. This is. One of us could sway the ties on this right now.
[01:43:08] Speaker A: I don't think that's a good idea.
[01:43:10] Speaker D: Why is that funny, Zachary?
[01:43:12] Speaker B: No, no, no. I'm so sorry.
[01:43:13] Speaker D: You guys are.
[01:43:13] Speaker B: No, I'm. I'm so sorry. I have not. I've been focused on you guys in this moment, and I just saw, okay, Swagalicious come up in the chat, and I didn't. It got me. I'm so sorry. Please continue with the important roleplay.
[01:43:23] Speaker A: Oz, you were the one. You were the first one to run up here and not talk to them, and now you're saying that one of us could go out there and talk to them? I don't understand. We all came up here because you said to.
[01:43:36] Speaker C: What do you think that talking to those men is going to accomplish?
[01:43:38] Speaker E: Us.
[01:43:39] Speaker A: We got to find the Count.
[01:43:41] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:43:42] Speaker D: All right. Let's go find the Count.
[01:43:43] Speaker C: I mean, I think if they're. I think if they're arguing now. If they're.
[01:43:46] Speaker D: No, I think Jackie's right. Let's go find him. Let's go.
[01:43:48] Speaker B: I'm reminding you all. I'm not. Hinting you to anything. Remember, this is just. I'm. I am not a DM who push. Who tries to push you in directions. The world is simply happening around you.
You all hear a very heavy metal clang from downstairs. And then quite a few. Quite a few different clangs. The table does not move at all. There's no budge from it. It sounds like fighting has broken out downstairs.
[01:44:14] Speaker D: Starts walking towards the other.
[01:44:15] Speaker B: The other door.
[01:44:16] Speaker A: The one I don't know.
[01:44:18] Speaker E: Balls.
[01:44:19] Speaker A: You're.
I don't know.
Can we tell them to stop fighting amongst themselves?
[01:44:25] Speaker B: People can take. People can. People can take multiple actions at once. Row. As you stand in the room paused and discussing and Tello looks to momentarily stunned. Greta already said she was going through the door and checking. Greta, you pass through one door, you open the other through the way. I mean your allies are. It's not like you're walking in another dimension. They're 15ft away from you as you walk into the next room.
This room is a flat, low stone room.
I'm sorry.
[01:44:48] Speaker C: I would have stayed. Greta would have stayed.
[01:44:50] Speaker B: Okay, never mind. Everyone's still in the room talking.
[01:44:52] Speaker C: I'm sorry.
[01:44:52] Speaker B: Okay. No, forgive me. I thought I was honoring your previous decision. Please forgive me.
[01:44:56] Speaker C: Thank you. I appreciate that.
Greta's gonna say I think that those men are standing up for themselves and I think that they've got it under control.
I think that we need to take care of the bigger issue that is plaguing them, which is the count. If we can't.
[01:45:15] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. They're not our. Not our. Not our party, not our mushrooms. You know.
[01:45:22] Speaker B: Absolutely. Micah, as. As your party is talking you all. Craig, you just leave. You walk into the next room. As you go through one room into the other, you find a flat stone room. It's geometry and shape. Semicircular mirrors. The other side. You get the feeling it's the other half of this floor. It's a large stone room, well adorned. There are paintings on the walls.
There are side tables dressed with candelabras that light the space. But otherwise it just looks like a well decorated room with nothing particularly in it. Except for a staircase right in the middle that goes up to a third floor. Okay.
[01:45:54] Speaker D: Boss is going to do something different. Zachary.
Okay.
[01:45:57] Speaker B: Yeah. What's up, boss?
[01:45:58] Speaker D: Boss is going to stop and he's going to take a breath and then he's going to thunder, wave all of the furniture in front of the door and walk out to go help the people that are fighting.
[01:46:07] Speaker B: Crazy and awesome.
Craig, you walk through the other room. Greta and Ro, you're resolving your conversation. Tello steps aside. Boz, you step forward, and with one loud footstep on the ground, as you mutter an evocative word, it turns into golden light. That and the furniture flies off of the top of the stairs and is mostly shattered. And you begin walking down the stairwell in the opposite direction.
[01:46:30] Speaker A: Wow.
[01:46:31] Speaker B: What a crazy session.
Okay, let me turn the battle map back on. And then, Micah, go ahead and tell me what Craig's doing in this moment.
[01:46:41] Speaker C: Glad that you didn't get rid of the battle map.
[01:46:49] Speaker E: I think.
I think he's gonna hear that and go back into the lobby. Not a lobby, but the, like, the other room. He's not gonna go downstairs yet, and he's just gonna be like, what just happened?
Can he get out of this room?
[01:47:13] Speaker B: Room?
[01:47:17] Speaker E: Even leave the room he was in?
[01:47:22] Speaker B: Sure. Why would he not be able to?
[01:47:24] Speaker E: The furniture.
[01:47:25] Speaker B: The maps flipped. It's always flipped. No, boss shattered the furniture and threw it off of the staircase with a thunder.
[01:47:30] Speaker E: Okay, one second.
[01:47:33] Speaker B: I swear this thing is it sideways again.
[01:47:44] Speaker E: It's good.
[01:47:45] Speaker C: Yes. You're good.
[01:47:48] Speaker B: Okay, there are.
Give me a second.
There are seven dead soldiers on the first floor.
This table has been flipped over onto its side. Chairs, dishes, and food are scattered around the room.
The captain and three guard. No, actually, hold on.
Excuse me. There are nine. No. Holy cow. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.
Nine. Yes. There are nine dead soldiers on the first floor.
The captain don't worry about the table anymore. And it's thrown on its side. It's knocked over. The captain's here. There are 1, 2, 3, 4. Five soldiers here engaged in combat with. 1, 2, 3, 4. 1, 2, 3, 4 dot oh, no.
[01:48:53] Speaker D: Zac, factor into account. He did have disadvantage on an attack. If that makes any difference, if that.
[01:48:58] Speaker B: Makes someone alive again, on the very first attack, he did so. There are nine dead soldiers on the first floor, and it is hard to tell who's who. Soldiers are fighting each other. The captain and another soldier appear to be attacking Frederick and another soldier who are fighting them here. Another soldier is engaged. Two soldiers are engaged with one here, one here. This one is headed over to go attack. One here. There's blood everywhere and soldiers are dead all over the floor.
Boz, you have walked back down to the first floor. We're going to resume initiative exactly where we were. I should probably have you reroll, but I don't want to do that, so.
[01:49:33] Speaker E: I'm going to follow behind. Boss.
[01:49:35] Speaker D: The first thing boss does is he cast mass cure wounds on the soldiers that are still there on everyone on the one. Everybody except the. Like, there's. The captain is fighting everybody else. Right.
[01:49:50] Speaker B: Multiple sets of soldiers are fighting multiple people.
[01:49:53] Speaker C: There's a group of soldiers with the captain and there's a group of soldiers.
[01:49:57] Speaker B: With Frederick, and they are all bunched together. It's very hard to tell who's who. And there's dead bodies all around.
[01:50:04] Speaker D: Oh, okay. Sorry. I completely misunderstood.
[01:50:06] Speaker B: That's okay. It's a chaotic scenario.
[01:50:11] Speaker D: I'm gonna go down.
[01:50:13] Speaker B: I'm so sorry for everyone's blood pressure.
[01:50:15] Speaker D: The stairs.
Is that just how long was I gone for?
[01:50:20] Speaker B: Because it.
[01:50:21] Speaker D: Like, six seconds is an action for.
[01:50:23] Speaker B: Nine people to be. Yeah. I'd say you guys were upstairs for two, three minutes, maybe.
Maybe four.
[01:50:32] Speaker D: But the shouting. Okay.
I feel like boss would have done something sooner if he had realized people were fighting down there.
[01:50:40] Speaker B: So.
[01:50:41] Speaker D: And he could hear crashes. Like, he would have. Like, there would not have been a.
[01:50:44] Speaker B: Long scenario that would have gone differently had you not needed to attend fatherly duties. And you can 100% bet I don't mean that sassy like. Thank you. Way to have your priority straight. You're always going to be welcome to do that. I just. I only have so much. Like, this has more to do with me than you. I only have so much ability to, like, communicate things. You know, maybe something I could have DM'd better just, you know, like, events transpired. While you guys were doing things, I was focused on maintaining what you guys had upstairs. The party was being informed on the volume and violence from downstairs, but no one who was physically here went and engaged that. But that is in no way meant to punish you for putting your family first, because obviously that's the most important thing happening right now are real human beings, including your daughter.
But a rapid conflict with some people who don't have that many hit points has broken out downstairs.
[01:51:38] Speaker D: I think Boz would cast.
He would cast massacre wounds on everybody except the captain.
[01:51:47] Speaker B: Okay, what's the. What's the range on massacre wounds?
Let me see.
60ft.
Oh, I mean, yeah.
Yeah. You're getting everybody even without moving any more forward. And you can get down the staircase with 15ft of movement. So you still got whatever you have left, but. Yeah, absolutely.
Golden light flashes offward. And do you want this flavor to kind of like a roar of golden fire moving across and healing everyone?
[01:52:24] Speaker D: Yes.
[01:52:25] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:52:26] Speaker D: And I'm going to speak out and I'm going to say.
Can I use my bonus action just to just say something to them to like, attempt to sway.
[01:52:35] Speaker B: Absolutely. You can. Yeah. And you can. You can shout out whatever you want.
[01:52:39] Speaker D: And I'm going to say congratulations, this is your second chance.
Anybody that does not want to die and wants to be free, stand over here with me.
[01:52:51] Speaker B: Okay, Boz. There is a roar of golden light. How much healing does massacre wounds do?
[01:52:58] Speaker D: It does bit, but I also add quite a lot to it.
[01:53:02] Speaker B: Yeah, it's.
[01:53:03] Speaker D: It does 3D8 plus my spell casting modifier. So that would be plus, and then.
[01:53:07] Speaker B: You have other than.
[01:53:08] Speaker D: Yeah, yeah.
[01:53:10] Speaker B: I do not think if we. If we assume you don't roll three ones, I don't think you can roll below their total hp. So. So you heal back everyone except for the captain, who I also need to deduct hit points from.
[01:53:25] Speaker D: Is it safe to say that, like, me and like this giant flash of golden flames washing over everybody, like, makes things, like, kind of almost like pause for a second or, like, interrupt.
[01:53:33] Speaker B: Well, we are. Yeah, we're absolutely gonna get there. So you slam down the golden magic. The golden fire tears across the floor, and as it heals wounds, everyone turns and looks at the most powerful spell casting a magic they've ever seen in their life. And as you shout outward, congratulations, here's your second chance to come stand with me and not die. Go ahead and make an intimidation check at advantage for me, boss.
[01:53:57] Speaker D: Oh, and I had the doth cloak on too, so that gives a. That gives a bonus to in sick.
[01:54:02] Speaker B: I don't know what that bonus is.
[01:54:03] Speaker D: But absolutely it gets plus one. Could you allow me a moment to confirm it, Zachary?
[01:54:09] Speaker B: I would. I would gladly allow you a moment to confer. Let's. Since we are returning to initiative, I'm just going to refresh everyone that Roe, then Greta and Tello, then the captain, then Craig, and then the guards. So be planning what you're doing next in that order, please.
[01:54:26] Speaker D: I think it's a plus one. I don't think it can. I know there's one. I think it's a plus one.
So buys rolls.
[01:54:37] Speaker B: I know it's a bonus, that's for sure.
[01:54:40] Speaker D: Oh, a plus.
So my intimidation is plus two. That's 21. Plus one is a 22.
[01:54:48] Speaker B: Okay, boss. These three individuals here closest to you, these two.
So these three are fighting each other, and it looks like this guy versus these two.
This guy, there's a great quiet comes over the room. This guy puts his weapon down and very cautiously walks towards you. This guy keeps his weapon and confidently walks toward you. He's going to come stand almost right Next to you. This guy's going to keep his distance.
This guy's going to take a step in toward the captain.
This guy.
22. It's going to be a similar pattern of behavior with these two. These two guys move towards you. This guy moves more confidently right up towards you, but puts his weapon down. This guy also drops his weapon but stays a distance away.
This individual steps back toward you and stands right up next to you. He keeps his weapon on him.
And these two dudes right here stand next to you and face toward the rest of the room. These three guys stand at a distance and kind of look at you and at the other people as well.
Frederick is going to move towards you, and the captain's going to take his opportunity.
[01:56:03] Speaker D: Attack is my reaction.
[01:56:07] Speaker B: What would you like to use your reaction to do?
[01:56:09] Speaker D: Deal psychic damage to him.
[01:56:11] Speaker B: Okay. After he rolls his damage, you most certainly can.
[01:56:14] Speaker C: Oh, what is that feature?
[01:56:16] Speaker B: That's awesome. He hits, and he is going to deal.
Okay.
Frederick turns to step away, and the captain looks at you. Blood foams up around his lip. He jabs his halberd forward and summarily kills Frederick. Gets jabbed in the back of the neck with the tip end of a halberd.
And just a tiny little bit of the front of the halberd comes out the front of his throat with a spurt of damage. And as it gets pulled out the back of his neck, the captain goes to raise the halberd over his head as Frederick's falling to the ground. What are you doing? Explain the psychic damage to me, please. Boz.
[01:57:03] Speaker D: You know how I flavor things sometimes where things move a little bit too fast? Almost like the Scarlet. Scarlet Witch.
Almost like that vibe.
[01:57:10] Speaker B: Absolutely.
[01:57:11] Speaker D: But, like, more flavored toward yelick to Nth, I feel like, because this is where the power comes from. Boz kind of, like, does that, like, a weird, like, stance forward. Doesn't, like, take any movement forward, but, like, adjusts, like, a weirdly spaced way. And there's just like, this, like, cackle that fades quickly as it, like, travels and hits him. And he has to make an intelligent saving throw.
[01:57:28] Speaker B: Absolutely. He's not awesome at those.
What's the DC?
19.
Okay, 14. He fails.
Go ahead and tell me about that damage.
[01:57:42] Speaker D: So he takes 12 damage? No, sorry, six. He takes six damage for me.
[01:57:47] Speaker B: Okay.
He looks. He looked bloodied when you got down here.
Now he looks worse.
Okay. Okay. Next up in Initiative is Rob.
[01:58:03] Speaker A: So I'm still in the room.
[01:58:05] Speaker B: You're still upstairs, right? Yeah. Now, boss. Boss Exploded the furniture off the door, walked down. You heard him shout what he shouted. And there was clearly powerful spell casting, sound of movement, more weapons.
[01:58:15] Speaker A: Yeah.
So it's still. It's still like action economy, though, even though I'm up there, like, yes, ma'.
[01:58:22] Speaker B: Am. Yeah.
I will say, for the sake of simplicity, every fun guy can get down the street stairs in 20ft of movement.
[01:58:30] Speaker A: I don't.
I look at Greta and Craig, who's still up there, right. And Tello. And I say, I. I think we need to find the Count. I think they're a distraction. And she points downward.
[01:58:46] Speaker B: Okay, Greta, it's your turn. Initiative.
[01:58:49] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:58:50] Speaker C: Okay.
Okay, okay, okay.
Greta is going to use her bonus action to turn to Roe and say, I agree.
I think these soldiers might help us with that.
And then she's going to go to the front of the.
She's gonna go and stand at the stop. Top of the staircase. She's not gonna go down.
Can I stand at the top of the staircase without blocking the staircase?
[01:59:19] Speaker B: You Absolutely. It can.
[01:59:20] Speaker C: Okay, I'm gonna do that.
[01:59:21] Speaker B: We're definitely blocking the staircase. If you stop and stand on the floating staircase.
[01:59:25] Speaker C: Okay, I'm gonna go down the staircase then, I guess, actually. Okay, I'm gonna. I'm gonna go to the top of the staircase just for coolness effect. I'm gonna stop there and cast guiding bolt on the captain.
[01:59:40] Speaker B: Oh, okay.
[01:59:42] Speaker C: I'm gonna cast.
Yeah, yeah. I'm gonna cascading bolt on the captain.
Roll the hit is what I do.
I'm gonna use my per DM just in case.
Okay. So that is a 18.
[02:00:22] Speaker B: Okay. An 18 will just hit.
Go ahead.
[02:00:26] Speaker C: Really? For me, Greta, I'm so glad I used it.
[02:00:29] Speaker B: Oh.
[02:00:31] Speaker C: Damage.
That's 11.
[02:00:51] Speaker B: Okay, Greta, you step down the stairs, you grab your symbol, and as the brilliant green line of light just out from you, it pounds him in the chest and burns off a pauldron from his shoulder. He almost drops his halberd and falls to a knee and stands back up. He looks like he's in really bad shape.
[02:01:09] Speaker C: Okay, I rolled two ones on.
[02:01:11] Speaker B: That is a bummer, buddy. And you walk down the rest of the staircase. Down.
[02:01:15] Speaker C: Yes.
[02:01:16] Speaker B: To hear. We can say if it's okay.
Oh, go on.
[02:01:22] Speaker C: Well, just as I do that, I want to release, like, just a really angry scream. Like a.
[02:01:29] Speaker B: Okay, absolutely.
The violent screams that we know Greta can produce.
I'm gonna take the driver's seat for Tello real quick. And if it's okay with you, I might be doing this at surprise points throughout your time here.
Tello is going to come right after you, Greta. And without a word, he ascends the staircase. When he's about 10ft up, he. He just jumps the rest of the distance down.
And could you make a little Dex, save for him?
D.C. 10.
Be a hilarious time to roll a one.
[02:02:06] Speaker C: It's a dirty 14.
Or.
I rolled a 14. So I'm gonna shoot them out.
[02:02:12] Speaker B: I'll call it a 17 for the sake of math. I don't know.
So he's gonna land on the other end, just. Just a square landing, no additional issue. And he walks over the back of Greta, doesn't say another word.
He just pulls out his crossbow, loads it, and shoots at the captain.
There's no other words. He just does it. Could you go ahead and roll the hit for me, Greta? Thank you.
Would you mind putting in the freezer? Thank you, baby. I love you.
You are the best. I'm.
And also, hi.
[02:02:44] Speaker C: It's a natural 20.
[02:02:46] Speaker B: A nat 20. What's your total?
[02:02:48] Speaker C: Yes. So a 27 total.
[02:02:50] Speaker B: A 27.
[02:02:51] Speaker D: Phenomenal.
[02:02:53] Speaker B: Okay, how much damage gets dealt?
[02:02:59] Speaker C: We double the.
[02:03:00] Speaker B: There's no sneak attack here, so it'd be damage plus. Dex double.
[02:03:08] Speaker C: Okay, damage plus, damage plus.
So that is a 6.
[02:03:14] Speaker B: 16.
Tello, how do you want to do this?
[02:03:26] Speaker C: I'm gonna say tell. It's just like, no nonsense. Just like. He hits him just like right here, like, right between the eyebrows with a doll. Just like a thud.
Like it's not ceremonious. It's not fancy. He just like, I'm this guy's.
[02:03:39] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah.
As Tello hits the floor, you hear his boots from behind you, and he walks around behind you. Greta, you look up just in time to see the loaded hand crossbow lift over your head. And as the bolt releases, the captain looks up, starts to form words, and there's just a.
And the back of a bolt is produced, is protruding 4 inches out the front of his head, and he just.
To the ground.
Could you make an intimidation check with advantage with tell.
[02:04:20] Speaker C: That is an 18.
[02:04:23] Speaker B: Okay, excellent.
Up next in initiative is not the captain.
Craig, what are you doing?
[02:04:38] Speaker E: And I. Well, obviously, I'm down the spiral staircase.
[02:04:42] Speaker B: Like, 25 can get you to here.
[02:04:45] Speaker E: Okay, I'm gonna look. Can I see?
Can I. Can I vibe check?
[02:04:50] Speaker B: Soldiers have not yet walked to you.
[02:04:53] Speaker E: No, but, like, what's their faces showing? That their captain just was killed by us?
[02:04:59] Speaker A: Like.
[02:04:59] Speaker B: Yes. Well, some of them have his blood on their faces.
And there is a look of shock.
There was a look of concern and high energy. It's just a very, very high energy. Shocked in the moment, full of adrenaline, expression, a little stunned. Weapons still in hand, blood on them, some of them wounded. Well, no longer. I'm.
[02:05:29] Speaker E: I'm going to use Star Splinter's arranged weapon.
[02:05:33] Speaker B: Okay.
[02:05:35] Speaker E: I get the information back for that.
I'm trying to remember the die that I have to use.
[02:05:45] Speaker D: So none of the.
[02:05:46] Speaker B: None.
[02:05:48] Speaker E: They're not surrendering.
[02:05:50] Speaker A: We.
[02:05:51] Speaker D: Nothing's happened since.
[02:05:52] Speaker B: It's Micah's turn.
[02:05:53] Speaker E: Okay, wait, am I missing something like.
[02:05:57] Speaker B: No, it's your turn, and you can do what you like on it.
[02:06:02] Speaker E: Can I say. Can I say to them, do you surrender?
[02:06:12] Speaker B: Okay, so. So you're not using Star Splinter.
[02:06:19] Speaker E: I. I like.
[02:06:20] Speaker A: I have it.
[02:06:21] Speaker E: Because I don't. That's not an action to say something, right?
[02:06:24] Speaker B: No.
No.
Okay. Yeah. So you. You pull out Star Splinter.
[02:06:31] Speaker E: Yeah.
[02:06:32] Speaker B: And you shout, do you surrender? And you're pointing Star Splinter at them. Give me. Give me another intimidation check.
[02:06:42] Speaker E: That's a nat 20.
[02:06:45] Speaker B: Jeez. What's your total, Craig?
[02:06:49] Speaker E: 21.
[02:06:51] Speaker B: Okay. Craig, with that Craig, as you hold up the magical sword and you grip the handle, and those lazulite fractures in the platinum all begin to glow and spark with energy. And parts of the sword, you seem to split apart from each other at the guards. The remaining three guards drop their weapons in their moment of shocked stun, and you all are out of combat initiative. Combat is over.
[02:07:20] Speaker C: Wow.
Wow.
[02:07:23] Speaker B: I'm going to go ahead and turn off the battle cam, but you all are still there in the room. Continue to keep role playing. We'll go a little longer, and then we'll wrap the session in a second.
[02:07:30] Speaker A: Ro goes to the. Ro starts walking down the staircase.
[02:07:35] Speaker B: Okay.
[02:07:35] Speaker D: Oz does something. I think he wants to do it before other things happen. Zach, that's okay.
[02:07:40] Speaker B: Absolutely. Thank you.
[02:07:44] Speaker D: Real quick, though, before I do, I don't have my inventory open.
[02:07:47] Speaker B: Sorry.
Okay. That's all right.
[02:07:51] Speaker C: He's gonna give him a blanket.
[02:07:57] Speaker B: I think we can pat pretty nice.
Here's a blankie.
[02:08:02] Speaker D: Boz walks over to Frederick and.
[02:08:08] Speaker B: He.
[02:08:12] Speaker D: He holds his head in his hands as he's bleeding on the floor.
[02:08:17] Speaker B: It's very.
A limp head. Feels surprisingly heavy. And it is in your hands even as you slag the metal helmet off.
[02:08:34] Speaker D: And he looks. He looks down at him.
And what did the count say to him? Zachary at the beginning.
[02:08:46] Speaker A: If they touch me.
[02:08:48] Speaker D: Exactly.
[02:08:49] Speaker B: He said, if they touch me, you know, they die or. No. Yeah, if they live. You know, your children go from the cliff edge.
[02:08:59] Speaker D: And so I.
[02:09:01] Speaker A: He lives.
[02:09:05] Speaker B: What do you have to, Boz.
[02:09:07] Speaker D: Boz holds his head in his hands and he starts crying.
[02:09:12] Speaker B: Okay.
[02:09:13] Speaker D: Just kind of softly.
And he casts revivify on him.
[02:09:19] Speaker C: Yes. Yeah.
[02:09:22] Speaker E: Amen.
[02:09:26] Speaker B: Boz, this is the music I should have put on as you hold Frederick there and you cast revivify the.
I know we have the dc, but I'm gonna say in this moment, particularly here, you don't need to take it.
I'm not going to employ the mechanic right now.
So, Boz, as you place the diamond on his chest and you press it down, the impossibly dense and powerful structure gets splintered and shattered apart by the roots that come out of your palm, fracturing a substance that is far too dense for them to be able to do so. But the magic degrades it. And it's like the roots dig into, around his armor and clothes and into his skin and pull the fragments of diamond down with them. And as they spread over him, the wound in his throat closes, the blood on soaking his neck and his shirt dries and he just.
And he grabs a blade really quickly and sits up and drops it and turns around and looks at you and he's sitting in front of you as the whole room around him looks stunned.
The three guards who are opposite you all just stand there, kind of just shocked.
The three who draw nearer but not beside, look a little stunned and confused.
And the two who came and stood directly near you, one of them is a middle aged man who begins crying a little softly, but not like weeping, just some tears pour down. He gets a very determined look on his face. And a late 20s woman who's the other guard who stood near you all, just pulls her pike a little more tightly in her hand and looks a little resolute.
[02:11:23] Speaker D: If the guy is willing to stand up, I stand up and I offer him my hand to help, to help him stand.
[02:11:29] Speaker B: Okay, Boz, as you stand over the man and you reach your hand down, he looks up at you in this moment like you're the tallest person he's ever seen.
And as he takes your hand and you pull him up, he just looks at you kind of startled and he stumbles over the words and says he touches his fingers to his throat where the wound was.
There's not even a scar behind. And he just, well, there's a little scar. He just goes, thank you.
I'm sorry.
I'm truly sorry.
He looks at the door to the throne room, concerned.
His chest heaves a little bit and he looks to Boz and also to all of you, all and he goes, we don't. We don't know where he is.
I mean, we would.
We would assume. And he walks over to the middle of the room and pulls the rug from the side of the floor. And there's a very large, heavy iron trap door in the middle of the floor. And he said we would assume he's below, but most of us have never even been down. We don't know.
[02:12:52] Speaker C: Greta. Greta nods and she asks, is it true what he said about your families?
Okay, how many.
I'm sorry, how many other people are there? How many other people in the castle, in the guard, do you think would side with you?
[02:13:19] Speaker B: Tears fill Frederick's eyes. And the younger woman walks over and she goes to the captain where he is on the floor. She pulls the helmet off his head. She grabs him by the head and pulls his hair, pulls him up by the hair, up off of the ground, his armor kind of like thudding and rubbing against the floor. She pulls out a sword, and with two quick motions, she beheads him. Wow.
And as the body to the ground, spilling blood everywhere, she raises the head up toward Frederick and just with murder in her eyes. And Frederick makes nods.
And she looks at you all, and she says, will you kill him?
Yes.
[02:14:12] Speaker C: How many other people feel this way?
[02:14:16] Speaker B: Enough.
And she turns around and starts walking out of the room. And Frederick looks back at you all and says, my kids are going to wake up tomorrow. And he picks a pike up off the ground from our. Around the room, start picking up weapons. And one. One from the three across the way looks kind of concerned and just darts out of the room. But the other kind of look at each other, exchange some words. And the guards are arming themselves and starting to walk.
[02:14:41] Speaker C: I'm going to go around. And as they're doing that, I'm going to, like, I'm going to make there be magic in my hand so they can see it. And I'm just going to cast guidance on everyone.
[02:14:49] Speaker B: Absolutely. You can only. It's concentration at a time, but. But, but they don't know that. And placebos more powerful than guidance.
[02:14:59] Speaker C: Well, I'm going to give guidance to Frederick, but I'm going to go around and like, touch everyone.
[02:15:03] Speaker B: Frederick's the one you get last.
You guide individuals all around the room, and as the magic flourishes over them, you don't really explain what it does. And they look powerfully emboldened by it.
[02:15:14] Speaker C: Yeah, I'm going to hold this, my Ioun symbol and make like just.
[02:15:20] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah.
And as you walk up to Frederick, and guide him.
He puts a hand way down on your tiny little gnomeworm and shoulder and he just says, every Dolgoth dies tonight. And grips the sword a little tight and starts walking out of the front of the room. And you all are the only ones in the throne room which empties of guards. And. And as the door shuts behind them, shouting resumes very soon after.
Wow. Okay, wow is where we are going to end. Episode 150 of the Accidental Adventures Crisis of faith.
[02:16:02] Speaker A: Crazy.
[02:16:05] Speaker B: The party gains, so you all gain. Let me. Let me count up the numbers and we'll do a tabulation. Okay. You gain 0.02 for the level.
For defeating Captain Fairs, you all gain 0.031.
You would have gained 0.015 for defeating all the guards, but since you convinced them not to fight you, Instead you gain 0.02.
And for successfully starting a revolt in Treloch, that is another 0.02.
[02:16:36] Speaker C: I love getting points for starting a dungeon.
[02:16:38] Speaker B: Below was revealed to you. That's another 0.01.
So that is. Give me a second. 0.02. 0.031 + 0.04 + 0.01 is 0.101.
Fungi, you're level 14.
You are a level 14 party listener. Life is an incredible adventure. You're a very important part of it. Everybody level up. Over break and we will come back to the second session. Skibidi Wattom dies.
[02:17:12] Speaker C: I'm gonna go make another Earl.
