Episode Transcript
[00:00:06] Speaker A: Okay, welcome back to Brady D and D. This is your sort of Dungeons podcast. Yep. Micah said she'd do the intro and then she. She just fro. And. And she's frozen with the funniest face too.
[00:00:16] Speaker B: Immediately.
[00:00:19] Speaker A: I'll do the intro.
This is. This is clearly better. D and D. You're sort of Dungeons and Dragons podcast. And if anything's true around here, it's that we don't nail intros and we say words at the end. So that's okay. It's part of the charm. That's why it's barely D and D.
This is another episode of the Accidental adventures. There's a 50. 50% chance that Micah joins us, which is. That happens. Man.
The letiter question. Before we start giving titles and all that, the letter question for today is, if your character was part of a political insurrection, what would their role be and who do we want the DMNPC to be?
[00:00:57] Speaker C: The Count.
[00:00:58] Speaker D: Wait, let me think about this. Not the Count.
[00:01:00] Speaker E: He'd be financing it. He'd be financing the insurrection.
[00:01:04] Speaker D: It depends on political one.
[00:01:08] Speaker A: Money.
Okay, what's. Who's the dmnpc?
[00:01:13] Speaker C: No, because I don't know what political.
[00:01:15] Speaker E: I would love to see.
I want us to hear Nam's answer to this. Like, what would norms role be? And I hope it's not just like, oh, I'd be a rogue rogue. You know, roguing around.
[00:01:27] Speaker A: Well, I'm going to answer her where I'm going to answer. So take.
[00:01:30] Speaker E: I'll be a rogue rogue roguing around.
[00:01:32] Speaker A: Maybe she is a rogue rogue. You don't know me. Okay, guy. All right, Micah, you did a very good job. Welcome.
What's.
What's. What's boss's role in a political insurrection?
[00:01:46] Speaker E: I don't know. I feel like. I don't know Boss's role would be, but he'd definitely be on the side going against the people that, you know, are like deporting people to assumably lifetime sentences to a third party country in a mega prison, probably whatever is against that. That's probably what he would be.
[00:02:04] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah.
[00:02:05] Speaker E: That is.
[00:02:07] Speaker A: That is the worst.
I will not get started there because that's not what the listener is here for. And if I pop off there, I won't shut up for half an hour.
Okay, well, boss's role is an incredibly political one. A take on a modern political circumstance.
Oh, what's your role on a political insurrection?
[00:02:29] Speaker C: I mean, if it was against the cafs, I would say, like, if it was like in the Yala Bernie and, like, political climate with the Kafka. She would be on the front lines taking on the Kefkins.
[00:02:44] Speaker A: Punching people in the face.
[00:02:46] Speaker C: She would be punching. She's never punched in her life. And she would be.
No. Yeah. She would just be against the Kevs. Yeah.
[00:02:55] Speaker A: I even buy that to a degree that. I mean, I sort of think we've almost all misunderstood the question. That's okay. But I think that she. Unless maybe I. Did I even buy that for Ro. Maybe in a way I wouldn't have in the past. Like, I feel like she would phrase that in the past and maybe not embody that. And now I feel like she's at a place to really embody that. That.
[00:03:11] Speaker C: Yeah, I probably did misunderstand the question, because I misunderstood the question. I was very confused by it in this sense of the world.
[00:03:20] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:03:20] Speaker E: Wait, were you talking, like, in reference to the revolt that happened with the soldiers downstairs?
Yeah. Like, when you created the question, were you thinking of, like, the soldiers fighting downstairs?
[00:03:34] Speaker D: No, I was thinking, like, I'm asking.
[00:03:36] Speaker E: The question, Creator Zachary. Hold on.
[00:03:39] Speaker D: Like, financing. Like, not. Which side would you be on? Like, what would you be doing? Would you be, like, a medic? Would you be, like, administrator? Like, not administrator. Would you be organizing?
[00:03:48] Speaker A: Would you be HR if your character was in a. Was in a political instruction? Would you be with the good guys? Or do you think you'd be with the oppressors? Because that's. That's the other option and totally a possibility.
[00:04:01] Speaker D: I think Greta, I think would be support. She wouldn't be an organizer. And since she's so old, this is just. I mean, I know she's like.
She would, I think, focus on, like, organizing and, like, supporting a leadership. I think she.
[00:04:15] Speaker A: Mentor.
[00:04:16] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:04:16] Speaker D: I think she'd want to be in, like, a. Like, a council position, but not like a. Not like. Like, I feel like, Like a. Like a.
[00:04:23] Speaker A: Right.
[00:04:24] Speaker D: Like a big, like, leader leader. But Greta would be like a quieter, like, support leader.
Healing people, managing supplies.
[00:04:32] Speaker A: Yeah, leadership is. I mean, it's not the sexy thing that gets displayed places, but leadership is the most important role in any political movement. I mean, that is true. If people don't know how to do and when to do it and aren't getting shared wisdom and perspective, things like that do not flourish. And that is true.
[00:04:46] Speaker D: She would want to be on the council, but not like, the. The figurehead, is what I'm saying.
[00:04:51] Speaker A: Mick Grick, what would Craig's role in a political insurrection be?
[00:04:55] Speaker B: I feel like Craig is just an ambassador of peace. You know, he's just very non violent, very chill.
[00:05:03] Speaker A: Smash cuts of the people he's cut in half.
[00:05:06] Speaker B: No, I definitely think that he would be the person that, like, at first, like, yeah, I want to get Craig on my side, you know? And then you're like, man, why did I get that guy on my side? Because he takes action without thinking.
It probably is ruining all of the strategy and plan that everybody else has.
And I think he definitely is bashed in some windows and like, threatened threats that he definitely would fulfill, but no one wanted him to, you know.
[00:05:31] Speaker E: Where was Craig? Where was Craig on January 6th?
[00:05:34] Speaker A: Micah.
[00:05:35] Speaker F: Oh, my goodness.
[00:05:35] Speaker A: Landon's coming in with an energy today. Where.
[00:05:38] Speaker B: Where was he at one point in his life? And it was probably like, why didn't I get my men up?
[00:05:42] Speaker E: You were supposed to laugh, Zachary. That was the right response.
[00:05:45] Speaker A: Landon. Landon said, hey, I've come in with things no one signed up for. Let's biggity being.
[00:05:50] Speaker B: What are you talking about?
[00:05:51] Speaker E: That's hilarious.
[00:05:52] Speaker B: Hear me out. Let me answer.
At one point in Craig's life, he would have been like, where was my memo?
[00:06:00] Speaker A: Where?
[00:06:01] Speaker B: And then now he's like, thank the Lord I didn't get that memo.
And that's.
[00:06:07] Speaker C: That's.
[00:06:07] Speaker A: He is a very converted man.
I'm non. Is that correct?
[00:06:12] Speaker E: Yes.
[00:06:16] Speaker A: Nam would be uninvolved until she was very involved.
Nam would be completely removed until she couldn't be. And then at the point she is. I believe she'd be performing the role of murder.
And that is funny. That is funny for the. Yep. It's funny for the Tee Hees. But also, Nom's not doing anything but looking out for number one until looking out for number one is participating. And then at that point, she's marrying metal and skin. She's. She's putting bolts in people's heads. And that's what Nam would do. It would. It would be 0 to 100 and there'd be no in between. She's not in it until she's in it to the death.
[00:06:53] Speaker E: I haven't finished and. Or season two, but neither. My, my and I. Have you seen season one?
[00:07:01] Speaker A: I have finished it. And I actually haven't started season two yet because I'm rewatching season one before watching season two.
Okay.
[00:07:08] Speaker E: My favorite moment is when the old guy.
[00:07:11] Speaker A: Please don't spoil it for me.
[00:07:13] Speaker E: No, this is something you've seen, Zachary, if you've seen season one.
[00:07:15] Speaker D: Oh.
[00:07:16] Speaker A: From season one. Gotcha.
[00:07:17] Speaker E: I've only seen, like, one episode of season two. So I can't even spoil it for you if I tried.
[00:07:20] Speaker A: Understood.
[00:07:20] Speaker E: But my favorite thing is, like, when the old guy is meeting with his spy, like, in the Empire, and he's like, you don't. He's like, it hasn't cost you anything. He's like, I literally have to, like, be a monster so that the thing that I know is right, can survive. I have to take on the methods of my. And I will never know the product of what I am, like, killing myself for.
[00:07:44] Speaker A: Yeah. He's like, it's not cost you everything. And he's like, it's all it's ever done is cost me.
Yeah.
[00:07:51] Speaker E: Oh, that moment got me.
[00:07:53] Speaker A: Bad plot twist accounts. The most important good guy in the world. Who knew?
Yeah.
No, Abby, I am not trying to put you on the spot. No, that's not true at all.
I'm not trying to put you on the. On the spot. Do you have everybody's new point maximum?
[00:08:10] Speaker D: I do.
[00:08:11] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:08:12] Speaker D: And I found my pen.
[00:08:13] Speaker A: Everybody. This is a level 14 adventure, not level 13.
Roe has 111 hit points. Boz has 122 hit points. Craig is at a maximum of 152 hit points.
And what is Greta and Tello at? What are.
[00:08:33] Speaker D: Greta, is it a solid 91? Tello, is it a solid 81?
[00:08:40] Speaker A: Hey, those. Those are. I mean, that's a ton of hit points.
I mean, look at it this way.
[00:08:45] Speaker C: Let's go.
[00:08:46] Speaker A: The party has more than 400 hit points. That's kind of crazy.
[00:08:51] Speaker D: It is crazy.
[00:08:53] Speaker A: It was kind of crazy.
[00:08:54] Speaker D: That's wild, actually, huh?
[00:08:57] Speaker A: Yeah.
Sometimes when you're like, wow, how did we win that fight? Add up the hit points and think about it. All right, let's skibidi Wap and Dota this thing. That's how I play in combats at high levels.
This is episode 151 of the Accidental Adventures.
It is a level 14 adventure. The date is still 3488. PB sihedron 23. It's probably an hour or two later. And this is episode 151 out of the pan.
[00:09:25] Speaker D: That's so scary. I hate that.
[00:09:28] Speaker A: If anyone knows that expression.
[00:09:29] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:09:30] Speaker D: Yep. Don't worry.
Don't worry.
I did.
[00:09:36] Speaker A: Fun, guys.
[00:09:37] Speaker C: Now.
[00:09:39] Speaker A: Okay, well said.
You all are in Castle Al Guid. The throne room.
Blood paints the floors.
Bodies lie strewn around you.
Some of the guards have marched out of the building at having stood against their captain when confronted by you all and your responses to their snare.
You all have been informed that there are Tunnels beneath Castle El Guid. A series of passageways of some sort underneath an iron trapdoor on the floor.
The guards have told you that they know little more about it than that, only that it exists. And very few of them have been down. Probably some of the only ones who have are now dead.
But the party is there. You stand at the spoils of your conquest. Also, just the quickest reminder to everyone. Remember, you have your new hit point maximums. But whatever amount of hit points you were down before also need to be subtracted from the current maximums.
[00:10:44] Speaker E: And I'm spinning like a ballerina.
[00:10:49] Speaker F: I still don't know that song.
[00:10:50] Speaker A: And that probably says more about me than anything anything else.
And Luna has climbed up the cabinets in the kitchen. What's the party doing?
[00:10:58] Speaker E: Boz is going to take a short.
[00:11:02] Speaker A: Rest.
[00:11:05] Speaker E: And throw out a beacon of the first flame and invite any of the guards to sit around it.
[00:11:10] Speaker A: And, well, the guards have all left.
[00:11:13] Speaker E: Oh, all of them have left. Even Frederick?
[00:11:16] Speaker A: Yeah. The surviving ones left with weapons, and now they're shouting outside.
[00:11:20] Speaker E: Okay, well, I grab Craig by the hand and I say, hey, bro.
[00:11:27] Speaker B: Hey.
[00:11:29] Speaker E: Something's up with you.
[00:11:30] Speaker C: What are you holding my hand?
[00:11:32] Speaker E: Something is up.
[00:11:34] Speaker A: Okay, I'm gonna pick a different music.
Keep going.
[00:11:40] Speaker E: Do you want to, like, try and figure it out real quick before we go forward? Or frustrating or, like. I don't know. It feels like it's not like a count thing. It feels like.
Yes. It feels like a human maker thing.
Yeah, it feels like a you in the maker thing.
Why don't we, like, sit together for a little bit and, like. And just, like. Why don't you just, like, pray or, like. Like think or, like, I can throw up, like, a beacon of the first flame, you know, and. And we can just like, sit and just kind of vibe together with the maker if you want.
[00:12:17] Speaker C: Meditate.
[00:12:18] Speaker B: I'm down.
[00:12:19] Speaker E: All right.
All right. I throw down a beacon of the first flame.
[00:12:24] Speaker A: Tell me about that.
[00:12:25] Speaker E: Landon, there's a fireplace in this room, right?
[00:12:30] Speaker A: No, but Druid of the first flame, you can make one without a lot of effort. There's splintered wood all around you. You could stack some together.
[00:12:35] Speaker E: I don't want to do that.
[00:12:36] Speaker A: I don't want to do that. Okay.
[00:12:39] Speaker E: I just ignite a small piece of flame, and it just kind of hovers above the ground, not burning anything. And it's a little radiant, not really hot, but just kind of like.
[00:12:52] Speaker A: Also remember, this whole place is made of stone, so you're not going to.
[00:12:57] Speaker E: But the idea that it's floating. Is cool.
[00:12:59] Speaker A: Absolutely brilliant. Golden flame is burning with light above the ground in front of Boz, where he sits. I'm just remind. I mean, I'm not calling this good or bad. Just a reminder that a short rest is an hour. So I'm just throwing that out there.
[00:13:12] Speaker C: Okay, Guys, shouldn't.
[00:13:14] Speaker A: That's not good or bad. Just a reminder. That's it.
[00:13:17] Speaker E: Well, I don't think we need to take a hole out. I don't. I call it a short rest or whatever it is.
Okay.
[00:13:23] Speaker A: I'm just checking, that's all.
[00:13:26] Speaker E: If you sit around it, you regain a point of exhaustion, but I don't think any of us are exhausted. And mostly for flavor. Just, like, be bathed in, like. Like the light of, like, the maker as Craig does his thing. If we want to, but I don't know. It's whatever y' all want to do, but if you're not feeling it, you.
[00:13:39] Speaker A: Don'T have to do it.
[00:13:41] Speaker C: Worry. The count is gonna. Is gonna.
[00:13:44] Speaker E: What was Micah say?
[00:13:45] Speaker C: Get daddle.
[00:13:47] Speaker B: I. I need to be able to figure this out because I have some pretty big stuff that I prepared that I want to be able to use.
[00:13:54] Speaker A: Okay.
All right.
[00:13:56] Speaker E: So I do that, and I sit with Craig, and I just sit with.
[00:13:58] Speaker C: With him.
[00:14:01] Speaker B: Real quick. I'm like, it's Craig.
[00:14:09] Speaker A: Sorry, the hand motion got me.
[00:14:12] Speaker B: What did I.
Did I offend you?
What's popping?
[00:14:21] Speaker A: Oh, my gosh. What a way to address Bos and Craig. And Craigger sat on the floor with a little floating gold fire in front of them.
And Craig, you offer this prayer, and.
[00:14:34] Speaker B: I end it with. I end it with.
[00:14:36] Speaker D: You're pretty great.
[00:14:38] Speaker B: I believe in us.
[00:14:42] Speaker A: Gotcha.
[00:14:46] Speaker B: I love Craig.
[00:14:48] Speaker A: Why don't you make me a religion check?
Or you can. You can make it religion, or you can make it a general charisma check. Whatever.
[00:14:58] Speaker E: You're prepping an insight check.
[00:15:01] Speaker A: Not that you can make a religion or general charisma up to you.
[00:15:07] Speaker D: Did someone say insight?
[00:15:11] Speaker B: I have bardic inspiration.
[00:15:16] Speaker C: Has it been longer than 10 minutes?
[00:15:22] Speaker A: Yeah. I mean, grow.
[00:15:24] Speaker C: Could rebar inspire you. Because what I was also. What I was also doing was if we are taking an actual short rest, I was going to use song of rest for the first time in my 14 levels.
And everyone can add a. A D10 to their hit points to. To get back up.
[00:15:44] Speaker B: I don't mean that we were here for an hour.
[00:15:46] Speaker E: We're taking a full sort rest.
[00:15:48] Speaker C: Oh, we're not?
[00:15:49] Speaker E: No, because Zach gave the voice of like, are you sure you want to do that.
[00:15:52] Speaker A: But like, in his. Like. I'm not just clarifying. That short rest was an hour. That's it. That's all. Just reiterate, reiterating rules. It's not.
[00:16:01] Speaker C: Okay, well, I'll. I give. I give.
I give.
What am I trying to say? I give Craig Vardick inspiration.
[00:16:10] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:16:11] Speaker C: As I. As I heal myself once more. Okay. I'm gonna heal myself.
[00:16:15] Speaker A: That's your.
Absolutely. That's your total with Bardic inspiration, correct?
[00:16:20] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:16:24] Speaker A: Craig, you pray.
You're what?
[00:16:29] Speaker B: Tattoo boot tattoo. Boon plus one.
Seventeen.
[00:16:33] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:16:34] Speaker C: All right.
[00:16:35] Speaker B: Market.
[00:16:37] Speaker A: That's right. Hey, get every last point you can.
Thank you for posting these in the chat, Mike. It's helpful.
Landon, you're muted.
[00:16:44] Speaker E: This is the way I guide Craig. I give guidance. Because you haven't said if it succeeds or not. And I give guidance to him.
[00:16:50] Speaker A: Add your D4, Micah.
[00:16:53] Speaker F: This is the role that never ends.
[00:16:57] Speaker B: Guess What? It was a one.
[00:17:00] Speaker A: 18. Okay.
[00:17:01] Speaker C: 18.
[00:17:04] Speaker A: All right.
Craig, you reach outward and you try to connect to the maker.
You feel your symbol of the maker that hangs on a chain around your neck. Underneath your armor feels heavy.
And you feel a momentary warmth from it. Like just kind of a little flicker of it, but then it's rather cool, returns to its previous temperature, and you just feel an amount of. Barring disconnection of some sort.
[00:17:47] Speaker B: I immediately. I'm just gonna go old. What's going on?
And he, like, tries to connect with old now.
[00:17:55] Speaker A: Okay. Oh, no.
The voice rumbles in your head.
[00:18:01] Speaker F: Hello?
[00:18:08] Speaker B: I don't know what to do.
I lost myself somehow.
[00:18:16] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:18:18] Speaker B: Is it cuz I'm here?
[00:18:21] Speaker F: I don't know.
[00:18:23] Speaker D: Did you have.
[00:18:23] Speaker F: Gods are pious and fickle.
[00:18:28] Speaker B: I know you don't vibe with that stuff.
You see something I don't see. Like in your knowledgeable eyes.
[00:18:40] Speaker E: Is Craig talking out loud, by the way, or is this in his head?
[00:18:42] Speaker A: Yeah, he is. Yeah.
[00:18:43] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:18:44] Speaker A: Well, tell us, Micah. Actually, excuse me, except. Are you talking out loud or in your head?
[00:18:47] Speaker B: Absolutely. Talking out loud.
[00:18:49] Speaker A: All of the. Like, everything you see, Old. Well, Boz can talk at the same time for sure. Old is also responding to what you said.
[00:18:58] Speaker F: And he says, I see many things that you do not see, Craig.
[00:19:04] Speaker C: Ah.
[00:19:05] Speaker F: I see a history of gods demanding certain behaviors and performances. But again, this is the danger of serving gods.
They are motivated by goals.
[00:19:22] Speaker A: Pause. As they are speaking, the flame is still burning in the same place. It's. It's constant and it. It is not changing. It's not flickers with sparks of different hue. Rainbow colors, in its gold center.
Yeah, I'm starting to wonder if maybe. Abby, do you have echo? Do you have headphones? I think there might be an echo back from your speaker possibly.
[00:19:50] Speaker D: Sorry, do you need me to mute? I can't put my headphones on.
[00:19:53] Speaker A: If you wouldn't mind putting your headphones on. I think that just helps reduce the echo.
But, Boz, the flame. The flame is constant. It seems untested or unchanging.
Resolute.
Micah or Craig. You hear the response you hear from old.
[00:20:14] Speaker B: I don't know, I'm doing something wrong.
[00:20:16] Speaker F: Motivates him. I don't know, Greg.
[00:20:23] Speaker B: This is so weird.
[00:20:26] Speaker F: I'm interested in the comings and goings of the realms, the cosmos, not the.
[00:20:32] Speaker A: Self righteousness of the gods.
[00:20:37] Speaker C: Nice.
[00:20:39] Speaker B: Okay, thanks.
[00:20:43] Speaker F: My offer stands, Craig.
If your God remains unhelpful, I'll gladly take you back to my service.
[00:20:57] Speaker B: Hey, let me ponder.
I really appreciate your support.
[00:21:07] Speaker F: Remember, Craig, we don't have forever.
[00:21:16] Speaker B: So Craig is gonna start adjusting his thoughts and he just kind of like centers one more time and he like, adjusts his actual posture and he's like, maker, please.
[00:21:35] Speaker A: Please.
[00:21:37] Speaker B: I want to do right by you.
He doesn't sneeze.
[00:21:45] Speaker A: He doesn't sneeze.
[00:21:47] Speaker B: I want to do right by you.
[00:21:50] Speaker A: I.
[00:21:52] Speaker B: Don'T know how unless you tell me.
Please show me and open my mind.
[00:22:00] Speaker A: The golden flame in the middle of the room burns down to the floor, in a pillar and out to the walls. And everyone is stunned for a moment as the golden fire burns all around the space.
Everything in the room that is not you all and what you are wearing is burned up.
The rug that was on the floor is incinerated. And not to ash. It's atomized.
The table and furniture that was present burns away.
I'm having a very hard time determining exactly what music this should be.
But anyway.
The stone staircase remains, and the walls and the floor and the ceiling and the floor. But the dais and the throne are sublimated in the fire. And it's not even molten slag behind the stone burns to powder on the floor. And even that is blown away as the heat differential of the first flame across the room matches whatever temperature it needs to denature the atomic particles at their most fundamental level. And as the fire burns over you all, you are unaffected.
You just feel a momentary thermic difference. And then.
And it's all one big fire across the room. And then all that's left there is that little burning flame in front of Boz.
And in the moment after that energy, it also burned the lights out of the candelabras above you. The candelabras are gone. They were also incinerated. The wax, the metal, the wood, the chain and all the. The only light left in the room in the night is Boz's beacon, there burning in front of you all. And in the darkened space, a voice comes to you, Craig, and says, we here. I appreciate your ardent heart.
And everyone can hear it, okay?
I appreciate your vulnerability, but I have spoken.
[00:24:00] Speaker F: All I ever do is speak.
And I could speak in the way that you ask, but what would you hear more audibly?
I speak when the wind howls.
I speak with the mountain stands resolute and the ocean churns.
You have not sought me, Craig.
I called you to me. I brought you for my purpose.
[00:24:23] Speaker A: I took you to my Wellspring and.
[00:24:25] Speaker F: I showed you the truth you didn't know for the question you weren't asking.
[00:24:30] Speaker A: And I told you my purpose there.
[00:24:32] Speaker F: To care for my peoples, to protect my magics, to endure these places in this creation for which I have cared.
You threatened my people.
[00:24:46] Speaker A: However you feel of the Kuo Toa, they are in my creation.
[00:24:50] Speaker F: This is a dark time.
And Blade comes against blade for those. I intended to be brothers and sisters and siblings.
But you sided with the momentary political and religion. The sided with a moment, a moment of philosophy and politic and religion to.
[00:25:12] Speaker A: Feel yourself above another people.
You threatened them with erasure and destruction.
[00:25:19] Speaker F: When they were vulnerable captives before you.
I am the God of all that has been created, but I am not the God of that.
[00:25:32] Speaker A: And when that last phrase gets said, the temperature in the room just plummets for like an instant to, like, above the temperature that would instantly freeze and kill something. And it's a moment that does no damage to you all, but you just feel the temperature shift before it returns.
[00:25:52] Speaker F: To the temperature in the room again.
I do not hand strength to tyrants.
I bow kings down to footstools. I make galaxies my rings. Craig, you have no idea what a galaxy is. But the voice continues.
My creation will worship me.
You will have my gifts so long as you protect those around you.
I am always speaking.
Look for me when you look for me. I will answer you.
When you ask me. I will answer.
When you speak, I will hear.
I have counted every tear.
And then.
[00:26:38] Speaker A: The flame just burns into, like, six thin spouts that just catch the stone in the walls on fire, in lights around the room so that you all can see. And the thermic energy just sort of.
[00:26:49] Speaker F: Returns to the space.
[00:26:55] Speaker B: Craig is just going to be like reflecting and absorbing that information and just like letting it rest on him.
That that was such a blind spot for him that, like he didn't know that. That those were so connected.
[00:27:22] Speaker A: Sure.
[00:27:25] Speaker B: In his mind and not out loud. Because this felt more private, even though it was out loud. Like it felt more private.
Like he's going to express his apology.
The maker.
[00:27:40] Speaker A: You can't quite finish the words, Craig, before your heart takes a couple of really heavy palpitations. You feel it and it's a mild cardiac event.
And as you stutter for a moment, there's a little bit of light that comes out from your armor on your symbol.
And is Craig down any hit points currently?
Okay. He returns to his newfall and you feel a rush of magic back within you.
And this time only Craig hears, no one else. The voice just returns once more and.
[00:28:21] Speaker F: Says, I'm not interested in your sacrifice.
You cannot earn my gift.
I made your heart.
[00:28:36] Speaker A: And that's the last the voice speaks.
[00:28:46] Speaker B: Can Craig tell if he's returned to where he was?
[00:28:50] Speaker A: You could certainly try.
[00:28:51] Speaker B: Like, I think that.
I think he's gonna go to Greta.
And it was such a moment of conflict between them at that time that I think he's going to just simply reach out a hand and even though it doesn't require a touch, he's still going to offer this.
He's going to cast bless if he can.
[00:29:29] Speaker F: Sure.
[00:29:32] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:29:32] Speaker B: And that basically means.
Oh, wait, Bless isn't like guidance, is it?
[00:29:41] Speaker A: No, it's a leveled spell.
[00:29:42] Speaker B: Oh, it's mainly for combat, isn't it?
[00:29:47] Speaker A: I think it's more general than that.
[00:29:49] Speaker D: It lasts for one.
[00:29:50] Speaker E: You can affect your creatures, but it lasts for one minute. So you'd be basically burning a first level spell.
[00:29:56] Speaker B: Oh, I don't want to do that.
[00:29:57] Speaker A: Oh, no, it is.
[00:29:57] Speaker B: Never mind.
[00:29:59] Speaker C: My bad.
[00:30:02] Speaker B: Oh, I can't cast guidance. I'm so silly. I have that can trip.
[00:30:07] Speaker A: You know how to be with the same. With the same emotions and thought and intent. You lay your hand on Greta and there is, as you mutter, the smallest utterance of what you feel. It comes out in many tongues. There's a little bit of gold light from beneath your palm and you feel an increase of divine ability for a moment. Not even divine meaning religious, but as in divinational, as in relating to the future. And you successfully guide Greta.
[00:30:37] Speaker D: Greta looks up at Greg and Miles also.
[00:30:41] Speaker A: Everyone else had that wild experience as well.
[00:30:46] Speaker E: Is an awesome maker hero.
[00:30:54] Speaker D: You cast powerwork cloth on the dm.
[00:30:59] Speaker C: I think you hurt our dm.
[00:31:02] Speaker A: Oh.
[00:31:03] Speaker D: Are you okay?
[00:31:08] Speaker A: I'm okay.
[00:31:11] Speaker D: That is just going to cast up, like.
Maybe it's a religion check. Or maybe it's like a quick little like, prayerful question.
She's going to ask if.
She's going to wonder to herself if this is something that the maker would. That this experience maker would want shared with the. With the.
[00:31:37] Speaker C: Her.
[00:31:38] Speaker D: Her Ioun people, or if she should sketch it in a. In a private notebook.
[00:31:49] Speaker A: Inciting a God.
[00:31:51] Speaker D: Okay, well, I.
It's half insight check.
[00:31:56] Speaker A: You know, Greta, that was just. That's left to your interpretation.
[00:32:00] Speaker D: It's a prayerful wonder. Can I phrase it as a. She's. It's a prayerful wonder. She's like, ab.
I want to send him a prayer.
[00:32:08] Speaker A: Sure. For sure. Go ahead.
[00:32:09] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:32:10] Speaker D: I don't want.
[00:32:11] Speaker E: Listen to the wind.
[00:32:16] Speaker A: Go ahead. What you got?
[00:32:17] Speaker D: I mean, I'm not. I don't want to roll. I just. I want to like.
[00:32:20] Speaker A: Oh, you were just describing roleplay. I'm sorry. I thought you were supplicating a check, and I was like, what do you want from me? So sorry, Abby. Please forgive me.
Absolutely.
[00:32:29] Speaker D: She's just, like, sitting there prayerfully wondering.
[00:32:32] Speaker A: Like, I'm sorry, Abby. I badly misunderstood that. Please forgive.
[00:32:35] Speaker D: That's okay.
If this is something the maker wants to keep private or if she can share this.
[00:32:42] Speaker A: Gotcha.
So sorry about that.
[00:32:45] Speaker D: Okay.
I don't want to incite a God.
[00:32:49] Speaker A: Okay. I was like, what do you want from me, dude?
[00:32:51] Speaker C: I would like to incite a God. No, I'm just kidding.
[00:32:54] Speaker A: Okay, what does the party do next?
[00:32:56] Speaker D: Wait, does she get any. Does she get any, like, idea or thought about it or just.
[00:33:02] Speaker A: No, no. But you. You have a prayer for wondering to yourself.
[00:33:06] Speaker D: Well, she's gonna sketch it in her private.
[00:33:09] Speaker A: Now, there are spells for.
[00:33:11] Speaker C: For that.
[00:33:12] Speaker A: There is the divination spell.
There is. There are spells to ask God's questions.
Usually fifth or sixth level.
[00:33:20] Speaker D: Yeah, she's not gonna do that.
[00:33:23] Speaker A: Okay, but you have.
[00:33:24] Speaker D: Wonderful.
[00:33:24] Speaker A: For sure.
[00:33:25] Speaker D: He's gonna sketch the event in a notebook that isn't.
She's just gonna sit there until the party takes action. That's what Gret is doing.
[00:33:37] Speaker A: What the party do.
[00:33:41] Speaker E: Boss is gonna stand up and go get himself another glass of whiskey.
[00:33:48] Speaker A: Okay. You walk back upstairs, return to the. You just pick up a full decanter.
[00:33:53] Speaker E: I picked up the whole bottle. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:33:55] Speaker A: You have the decanter. It's chock full of expensive Insignian whiskey.
[00:33:59] Speaker E: Yeah, I take a swig and then I Bottle it. And I say, hey, Greta, do you have any room in your cloak for this?
[00:34:07] Speaker D: Yeah, sure.
[00:34:08] Speaker E: All right, cool. And I hand it to her.
[00:34:10] Speaker D: She puts it in her cloak, and.
[00:34:12] Speaker E: I take the glasses too. The nice glasses.
[00:34:15] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. As you ransack the room, Boz. Yeah, okay. Absolutely. You have.
Roll 2D6 for me.
[00:34:29] Speaker E: Nine.
[00:34:31] Speaker A: You have. You have nine very fine crystal tumblers and a crystal decanter full of fine, unseen whiskey.
[00:34:40] Speaker C: Nice.
Oh, I have a question for the dm.
So I was doing maths when I was healing myself earlier, and so I still am with that psychic curse damage stuff from the night before. Right.
So it was at.
So it was at 91 because I was down 14.
Psychic damage. So my question is, because my hit points are now up from leveling up, would the max now be 97?
[00:35:20] Speaker A: That is correct.
[00:35:21] Speaker C: Okay. So because I healed myself, I. Because I. I hit the threshold of 91, but I wanted to make sure. So Now I'm at 95. Because I can only go to 97 until the next long rest. Right.
[00:35:33] Speaker A: Thank you. For one, keeping track of those hodgepodge details, two, making sure that you. That you keep track of all your impediment. Impediments. And three, clarifying with me to understand how the three interact. Take inspiration.
Thank you for keeping track of those details like that. I really appreciate that.
[00:35:52] Speaker B: Helps my job a lot, pet. I'm. I'm just kidding.
[00:35:54] Speaker C: Exactly.
[00:36:00] Speaker A: Jack, camera.
[00:36:02] Speaker B: That is really good, though. That is really good.
[00:36:05] Speaker A: M. I love when you come in with this energy.
Guys, be careful. Public school Micah's here today. Hello.
All right, what's the party doing?
[00:36:19] Speaker C: How long has it been?
It hasn't been an hour, right?
[00:36:23] Speaker A: 15 minutes. Okay, 20 if you want.
[00:36:27] Speaker E: No, let's keep it 15.
[00:36:30] Speaker C: I want a tight 15.
[00:36:37] Speaker E: Hey, it means we got 45 minutes left to frighten and charmed immunity. That's all I'm saying.
And every minute counts.
[00:36:43] Speaker F: That's true.
[00:36:45] Speaker E: So.
[00:36:45] Speaker A: Totally forgot about that.
[00:36:47] Speaker E: So the guards were saying, like, we're gonna go rally the troops and then come back.
[00:36:52] Speaker C: No, they're gonna go save their families and.
[00:36:56] Speaker E: Oh, they're just leaving.
[00:36:57] Speaker C: Protect.
[00:36:58] Speaker E: They're going. They're.
[00:36:59] Speaker C: I mean, they're.
[00:37:00] Speaker E: Got it, Got it, got it, got.
[00:37:02] Speaker A: It, got it, got it, got it, got it.
[00:37:03] Speaker C: Are we having this in role play?
[00:37:05] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:37:05] Speaker E: No, it's in role play.
[00:37:06] Speaker C: Okay, so we're gonna go.
[00:37:09] Speaker D: We're gonna go kill the count. Was the.
[00:37:12] Speaker C: Yeah, I think it was like.
They were like, you're gonna take care of him, right? We're Gonna go guard our families and also fight the ones that. That don't want to listen. Did she take the head with her, the lady?
[00:37:28] Speaker A: She did.
[00:37:29] Speaker C: Okay.
That's what I thought I remembered. But I was like, his.
[00:37:34] Speaker A: His body's gone now, too, but she took her bed. This room is the room. The stairs, and the trap door. Now, the first flume literally burned everything else.
[00:37:47] Speaker E: I hope the Count saw it, because, you know, he's watching. I hope he saw it.
[00:37:50] Speaker D: Oh, yeah.
[00:37:51] Speaker E: Oh, I. I hope he's a little scared.
[00:37:53] Speaker C: I'm gonna give another vulgar gesture to wherever the Count is.
[00:37:58] Speaker A: Absolutely.
[00:37:59] Speaker C: It's like the office. I'm, like, looking for a camera.
Okay, I. I say we. I say we get on.
[00:38:08] Speaker E: Do we explore the castle a little bit?
[00:38:10] Speaker C: Like.
[00:38:11] Speaker D: No, we got to go.
[00:38:12] Speaker C: He's gonna bolt. He's gonna bolt.
[00:38:15] Speaker A: All right.
[00:38:15] Speaker E: All right, let's go down the trap door.
[00:38:18] Speaker C: It sound. It's a bad idea. I. I look over.
[00:38:22] Speaker E: Not going to bolt. He's going to stay here or die.
[00:38:25] Speaker C: I look over at Tello for the first time, and I. I put a hand gently on his shoulder. Like, I guess he's sitting down, probably. If he's not sitting down, then I.
[00:38:33] Speaker A: Won'T put it on his shoulder. Standing.
[00:38:34] Speaker C: Okay, then never mind.
[00:38:36] Speaker A: You put it on his hand. On an elbow, on an arm. Yeah, yeah.
[00:38:39] Speaker C: And I just. I say, tello, are you.
Are. Are we doing okay?
[00:38:46] Speaker A: He just says.
[00:38:50] Speaker F: I don't know.
Doing that.
Greg, I'm glad you have your magic back. That's good.
If I'm being totally honest.
Feel good to hear a God talk again.
[00:39:03] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:39:03] Speaker A: Pick me up.
I used to not think of them.
[00:39:06] Speaker F: As on my side, but, you know, perspective's shifting on that.
[00:39:10] Speaker A: No, let's just, you know, honestly, let's. Let's just keep moving. I mean, it's smart. Take time and think here. I don't want to rush, but I.
[00:39:20] Speaker F: Also hate being here.
[00:39:21] Speaker A: So if we're going to die fighting.
[00:39:24] Speaker F: I want to go ahead and do that.
[00:39:26] Speaker A: Sorry, I'm really stressed.
[00:39:28] Speaker C: Oh, it's okay. I just. I just wanted to check in with. With you, you know, I appreciate it.
[00:39:34] Speaker A: I just. Let's.
[00:39:36] Speaker F: If we have something to do, let's do it.
Yeah.
[00:39:44] Speaker B: Hey, I just want to let y' all know that I just came to those realization that I can create an eyeball that floats in the air in front of me and goes into spaces that we haven't entered yet that I can see through up to an hour.
That would give us.
[00:40:03] Speaker D: It's pretty useful an advantage.
[00:40:06] Speaker A: You can.
[00:40:08] Speaker B: Fall arcane eye row said.
[00:40:12] Speaker A: Oh, is that a part of your subass?
[00:40:15] Speaker C: Yeah, that's right.
[00:40:16] Speaker A: I forgot I gave you that.
[00:40:19] Speaker D: Micah, I think we should do that right now. And I think that that's action that we take in the series of actions that's going to start now.
[00:40:26] Speaker B: Craig pretends grab his own eyeball.
[00:40:31] Speaker D: I'm ready to go. Oh, let's go.
[00:40:33] Speaker B: And he pulls it out, and he keeps that eye closed.
And he, like, throws into the air. And then we're just gonna eyeball there. And he like, Just kidding. Like, that's not my eyeball.
[00:40:45] Speaker A: Craig does the gotcha nose thing on himself in a room.
[00:40:48] Speaker D: I know that's very. That's very dad quote.
[00:40:52] Speaker A: Craig, you do the Just kidding. And as you toss your hand out, there's this.
And this little golden eye appears in the air before disappearing.
And Craig, you now find you mentally receive information.
This is dope. I forgot I gave you the spell. So this is the fun thing about doing so much home brewing, I forget what I give everyone. So then when you guys use stuff, I'm like, oh, I totally forgot about that.
Yeah.
[00:41:20] Speaker E: Okay.
[00:41:21] Speaker A: Craig, you are receiving visual information from that magical eye at the exact same time as your own consciousness. And you can see through it.
[00:41:30] Speaker B: Cool.
Can I just, like, barely open the crack the. The trap door?
[00:41:37] Speaker A: Do you. Do you go open the door?
[00:41:40] Speaker B: I, like, barely, because the door's still closed.
[00:41:41] Speaker A: It's been closed this whole time. Okay, Craig, you go.
[00:41:44] Speaker B: I just say all it has to be is an inch in diameter and that I can go in.
[00:41:49] Speaker A: Okay, Craig, you put your hand on the handle and lift. And it doesn't go anywhere. It appears to be locked, and there's a small mechanism with an aperture below it.
[00:42:00] Speaker D: Yeah, about that.
[00:42:02] Speaker C: Tello, do you want?
[00:42:03] Speaker A: But your eye is there, and you have it for an hour.
[00:42:05] Speaker C: Do the honors.
[00:42:07] Speaker F: Tello goes, yeah, been waiting for this.
[00:42:11] Speaker A: And he pulls out a couple small lockpick items he has a set with. We'll say, abby, Want to roll 2d4 for me?
You couldn't hear it, listener, But Abby said two.
Yeah, you got two from 2D4. You rolled two ones? Four. Okay.
[00:42:36] Speaker C: Wait, what? What's happening?
[00:42:37] Speaker A: Hello? Yeah, that was confusing. Pillow has four sets of lockpicks from all of his travels in time.
[00:42:42] Speaker C: Oh, no.
[00:42:44] Speaker A: Well, they can.
[00:42:45] Speaker D: He does that.
[00:42:46] Speaker C: What?
[00:42:46] Speaker A: A little.
So could you make a sleight of hand check with Telo to try and pick this lock?
And before. Before he makes it, Tello goes, anyone.
[00:42:58] Speaker F: Want to do that spell Thing on me.
[00:43:02] Speaker E: I finger cross buzz Omega guidance.
[00:43:05] Speaker F: Okay, thanks.
[00:43:06] Speaker D: He doesn't need it, baby.
Sleight of hand. That is a. Wait. I roll a D.
That is a 27. You rolled a natural 20.
[00:43:20] Speaker C: Wow.
[00:43:22] Speaker D: A nat 20.
[00:43:25] Speaker A: Okay. Sick teller just sits down and breathes evenly. And he inserts the lock picks. And you all don't hear any tumblers or rollers, but he's just waiting for a little like, kind of feelings to come back through the mechanism. He's doing it for a while. And then after a little bit, he just makes one last slick little movement. And there's this heavy sound from it. He kind of pulls his hands back, puts the. Picks up mor.
[00:43:52] Speaker F: Craig.
[00:43:53] Speaker A: He puts his hand on the. On the ring and lifts it up just a little bit.
[00:44:03] Speaker E: This rogue be rogan guys.
[00:44:06] Speaker A: Craig, do you send your arcane eye down?
[00:44:10] Speaker B: Yeah, I go be free, little guy. And like, send him.
[00:44:16] Speaker A: And you're. And your invisible little eye just passes down through the opening.
You can see Craig. It leaves down to a square passage about 6ft in each dimension. And that goes down for about 20 or 15ft. As you go down to the bottom, you find a stone floor.
And the stairs are opposite to a hallway that leads to either side with heavy doors at either end. So opening with almost incest into the wall. A ladder, not really stairs, a ladder going down rungs to descend. And then they come down to a level floor that has heavy metal doors on each side. Do you want to make a perception check for me?
Yes.
[00:45:06] Speaker B: And also I'm narrating everything I see.
[00:45:12] Speaker A: There are braziers in the wall that are burning. There's dim light in here.
But your arcane eye also has darkvision and is seeing. Well, did you get on that per capitan kick but 10.
Okay, you see that hall and you see those doors and the braziers emanating.
[00:45:44] Speaker B: Keeps going through.
[00:45:48] Speaker A: Okay.
You can send the eye out to 30ft in each direction. So you can move it kind of like maybe 5 or 10ft from either door. So you move it to each one. They appear to be large metal doors on either side.
They're wholly metal doors with handles and lock mechanisms on each.
That's what you see. They're rather simply made. They're clearly more function than presentation.
Okay.
[00:46:15] Speaker B: Y' all want to go?
[00:46:17] Speaker C: I. I tell.
I say tello what.
What sort of traps do you think he would set down there if. If. If anything. I mean, if you know or.
[00:46:31] Speaker A: I've. I've never gone.
I know that's where he keeps I know that's where he does his real work.
[00:46:38] Speaker C: Work.
[00:46:38] Speaker F: I know this is his arcane space.
[00:46:43] Speaker A: This is where private things. This is where the council drew business is conducted.
[00:46:46] Speaker F: But I have never been done.
[00:46:50] Speaker E: Shoulders. And I say, well, guys, I prepared fine traps, so.
[00:46:55] Speaker D: Oh, so did I.
[00:46:56] Speaker A: Yes.
Yeah.
[00:46:58] Speaker C: So we're playing on his home turf.
[00:47:00] Speaker A: Oh, that one you did in Biasta.
[00:47:03] Speaker E: Yeah.
[00:47:04] Speaker A: Yeah. That is a good idea.
[00:47:06] Speaker C: Everyone, just be wary.
He knows every inch and corner of this place.
[00:47:13] Speaker D: I cast light so that boss can see down there so that he can cast.
[00:47:18] Speaker E: We haven't gone down yet. Or have we?
[00:47:21] Speaker A: I think that was preparatory from Greta.
[00:47:24] Speaker E: Okay. Okay.
[00:47:24] Speaker A: Okay. Yeah, the doors.
[00:47:26] Speaker E: Let's go open.
[00:47:27] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:47:28] Speaker A: Okay.
Boss first down the stairs. Upon what object have you cast light? Greta.
[00:47:39] Speaker D: How far. How long is the tunnel?
[00:47:43] Speaker A: It's like 15ft in one direction, 20 in the other.
[00:47:47] Speaker D: Okay, she casts it.
[00:47:50] Speaker A: It's a pretty short distance.
[00:47:52] Speaker D: She cast it on her neck and she just kind of like stands next to Boz. So the light.
[00:47:58] Speaker A: Okay. All right.
So the party, one by one, collects and gathers at the bottom of the stairs. This is going to come up a lot this session.
Passive perception. 20 players. Upon getting to the floor, you both immediately notice that this one is not as clear at all. But on the floor below you, there is another square door.
This one is not metal. It is stone, and it matches the stonework. Upon ustan your passive perceptions are higher than the perception to notice it's present because. Of course.
And so there are doors at either end of the hall, but there's another trapdoor below your feet.
[00:48:36] Speaker D: Okay.
Okay, Understood.
[00:48:41] Speaker C: I take out.
This may be arbitrary, but I take out my side of past paths thing.
[00:48:54] Speaker A: And I'm so sorry, littlest DM question in the world. I'm actually just gonna ask you guys right now. Right now, do you guys prefer the music or do you like the.
The creepier one? Do you like the tenser one or the creepier one?
[00:49:10] Speaker E: I like tense. I like. I like creep. Oh, I don't know.
[00:49:13] Speaker A: Do you like this one or the one I was playing before?
More for this right now.
[00:49:18] Speaker E: Let's go with the other one.
Is that what you're saying, Abby, or.
[00:49:21] Speaker D: No, I like creepy, but is this creepy?
[00:49:25] Speaker A: Oh, that's two. That's two votes for creepy. Creepy it is. Okay, so we'll go with creepy.
Okay, so you all are down there. Also, Micah, whenever you need to fade, you just do that. Dude, Micah's hand is 4 inches up in her eye. So I was just checking.
[00:49:41] Speaker B: I don't know how I would do that with the count stuff.
[00:49:44] Speaker A: Well, fair enough. Ro. You pull out the side of pass paths, and as you look through the small aperture in the stone, of whom do you think the count?
The footsteps are all doors.
Yeah. I mean, the footsteps lead to either entrance, and each side they go to the door on your right.
The least there's really only like, maybe like you can tell some of the paths apart there on your left.
It's just a smear of colors from the floor. They've gone so much. And then they gather most often around the point directly beneath you.
[00:50:27] Speaker C: Okay. I think I'm a captain now.
[00:50:31] Speaker A: Okay. Absolutely.
There are a ton right where you're standing. And it occurs to you, like, okay, yeah, well, anyone who comes down this ladder has to stop there.
They go to the left quite a bit. A smear of them, hard to tell, a blur. But on the right, it's just a path of color. It's really only at the edges of wall to which they don't cover. There's so many thousands of steps.
[00:50:56] Speaker C: I relay this information, obviously.
[00:51:00] Speaker A: Jackie. Freaking sick use of that item. I really love that.
[00:51:03] Speaker D: Yeah. Thank you.
[00:51:06] Speaker C: I. I think maybe you said the left for the Count, Right?
Okay. I mean, either that or the. The trap door beneath.
But, I mean, it would make sense for him to go down another.
[00:51:21] Speaker D: I asked. I asked, are there any. Are there any spaces on the floor that you avoid? Like there's a pressure point there or something.
[00:51:28] Speaker C: Oh, I look through it.
[00:51:31] Speaker A: Ro. The tool is useful, but it's just a mud or steps. It's a muddle of steps in colors. I mean, you know, you're. You're like looking.
You're like looking for someone's steps in their home practically, you know?
[00:51:43] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:51:43] Speaker A: They're everywhere also. I'm so sorry. Jackie, could you turn your camera on and off for me real quick? It's gone. Just for me.
Thank you.
[00:51:51] Speaker E: Greta.
[00:51:52] Speaker D: Yes.
[00:51:53] Speaker E: Do you want to. Do you want to cast the first find traps?
[00:51:55] Speaker A: It's great.
[00:51:56] Speaker D: I can if you'd like to.
[00:51:58] Speaker E: I've used quite a bit of spells.
[00:52:00] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:52:00] Speaker A: I can do that.
[00:52:01] Speaker E: I'm trying to preserve.
[00:52:04] Speaker D: Yes, I would love to.
Do you think it's worth it?
[00:52:07] Speaker E: I think here it is.
I mean, we have a diverging paths, and I mean, we can see all the different ways that it goes. So I think it'd be handy to know if any are just like outright dangerous or if there's anything in our way, like, I don't know.
[00:52:20] Speaker D: I would like to before I do That I would like to open this. This second craft door just so I can make full use.
Or do you think I should do it after.
[00:52:32] Speaker E: It's a gamble. I mean.
Okay, we haven't tried to open.
[00:52:35] Speaker A: No one's tried anything below.
[00:52:36] Speaker D: Yeah, okay.
[00:52:37] Speaker A: It's a gamble.
[00:52:38] Speaker E: I mean, it is a gamble.
[00:52:39] Speaker A: We.
[00:52:39] Speaker E: It could be trapped, but I mean.
[00:52:41] Speaker D: Okay, then I'll ask. Find traps if it says line of sight, but I look both ways.
[00:52:52] Speaker A: Okay. This is so tricky because when Abby uses her headphones, the mics make her indecipherable sometimes, but when she doesn't use it, we get the echo.
[00:53:00] Speaker D: Sorry, Abby.
[00:53:03] Speaker A: Is it annoying? Oh, go ahead. Yeah. Test to see which mic you're connected to.
[00:53:08] Speaker E: That shouldn't affect the mic.
Your headphone mic.
[00:53:11] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:53:12] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:53:12] Speaker A: Check what your input is.
[00:53:14] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:53:16] Speaker E: Did you make it your computer?
[00:53:21] Speaker A: It still sounds really bad.
[00:53:22] Speaker E: She hasn't changed it yet.
[00:53:24] Speaker A: No, she said she just did.
[00:53:26] Speaker D: Yeah, I just did.
[00:53:29] Speaker A: Try talk. Talk for a solid, like, 10 seconds.
Oh, that's the worst it's been this whole time, which is fascinating. Yeah. I can't even hear you now.
[00:53:38] Speaker D: Yeah. Is this.
[00:53:40] Speaker A: Oh, well, it's very. It's very hard to tell from phrases like. Is that. What is. Is that. You know.
[00:53:48] Speaker E: Oh, my goodness. Wow. That's crazy.
[00:53:50] Speaker C: Yeah. That's bad.
[00:53:51] Speaker A: Yeah, we literally.
[00:53:53] Speaker E: I don't know how your headphones would.
[00:53:54] Speaker D: Be causing that to happen, but it kept resetting. But I think now it's set pretty solidly to my.
[00:53:59] Speaker A: Oh.
[00:53:59] Speaker C: Oh, there you go.
[00:54:01] Speaker A: Way better. Better. There we go.
[00:54:02] Speaker E: Yeah.
[00:54:03] Speaker A: Okay. You're the best.
[00:54:04] Speaker D: That's a bummer, cuz I can't hear you guys now.
[00:54:07] Speaker E: Well, you can set your output and input to two different things.
[00:54:11] Speaker D: No, I did. I did. I just.
It can. For some reason, I can. I can hear you.
[00:54:16] Speaker A: Okay, great. Gr. Do you cast five traps?
[00:54:20] Speaker D: I do.
[00:54:22] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:54:24] Speaker D: I. What? I said, I just want to say I. It says within line of sight. I'm looking down both of the halls.
[00:54:31] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. For sure. For sure.
I assume you would stand in such a way that, like, your peripheries and your main vision, you know, I mean, like, it doesn't give. It doesn't change the optic availability of your vision. But if it's in your visual path, you can see it with 120ft of vision. Greta, you can see that the door to your left and the door to your right are not trapped.
The door below you at your feet is definitely trapped.
[00:54:57] Speaker D: Oh, okay.
Ooh, this is the gen. This says, I don't Learn the location of each trap. But I do learn the general nature of the dangers by a trap. You sense.
[00:55:11] Speaker A: Yes, the general nature. How vague you get the feeling that the trap is dangerous in a form of dangerous to your physical body.
[00:55:24] Speaker D: Okay.
Okay, that's.
[00:55:26] Speaker A: I'm sorry. I'm having a hard time interpreting that. I don't.
[00:55:30] Speaker D: I.
Thank you.
I relay this to the group.
[00:55:35] Speaker A: And.
[00:55:36] Speaker D: I mark off a spell slot.
[00:55:39] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:55:40] Speaker A: That was awesome that you guys prepared that spell.
Handy.
[00:55:43] Speaker B: Can the magic eye.
Can the magic eye move forward and see if there's any like cracks or anything that it can look through before opening the door or like.
[00:55:55] Speaker A: Or is it a thorough scan all around the space and everything is very well sealed and constructed. This space is very well designed. Not visually at all. This is not a presentary space at all. But it is very well functionally and structurally designed. Everything is flush, everything is even. Everything is sealed.
And it is carved into the stone of the mountain. There is no dirt here. It's all the mountain stone.
[00:56:21] Speaker C: Rude.
[00:56:22] Speaker B: Guys, it seems like we have to commit and open one.
[00:56:26] Speaker E: Here's what I'm going to do, guys.
I thinking about casting dispel magic on it. Maybe try to get rid of the trap.
The thing is, I only have one more level three spell slot left.
[00:56:44] Speaker A: No, I have two level fours.
You do?
[00:56:47] Speaker E: Can you cast it?
[00:56:48] Speaker C: Yeah. Yeah.
[00:56:54] Speaker A: Okay. J. What?
[00:56:55] Speaker C: I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
[00:56:58] Speaker E: I'm confused.
[00:56:59] Speaker A: The T came back from vengeance from earlier.
[00:57:03] Speaker C: I can cast spell magic.
[00:57:05] Speaker A: Do you casting spell magic? Okay, mark off that spell slot. Me boy. Me brogan and. Oh, I have a DC.
[00:57:12] Speaker E: Good job, Zach. Good DM NY Narty.
[00:57:16] Speaker A: Mr.
[00:57:16] Speaker E: Car.
[00:57:18] Speaker D: What?
[00:57:22] Speaker C: Didn't like.
[00:57:25] Speaker A: Oh, my God.
[00:57:26] Speaker C: Goodness.
[00:57:28] Speaker A: What the hell?
[00:57:29] Speaker D: I want somebody, please. I want that to be my next tone when Lenin texts me. I forget.
[00:57:38] Speaker A: Careful with that, Craig. It does not seem to automatically dispel now. You still get the opportunity to do so. You need to roll for it. It looks like it was enchanted with a level higher than third.
[00:57:48] Speaker C: Oh, y.
[00:57:50] Speaker B: So can I cast guidance on myself?
[00:57:54] Speaker A: No. This is immediate. This is. This. This just goes with the casting of the spell. It is going to be 10 plus your.
Your charisma modifier.
Well, actually, let me try.
[00:58:10] Speaker B: I should not have done this.
[00:58:11] Speaker A: I mean, that ruling is correct, but let me.
[00:58:14] Speaker D: You did it right, Craig.
[00:58:18] Speaker E: The DC is 10 plus the spell's levels. Zachary.
[00:58:22] Speaker A: Yeah, no, that's correct.
Did I say the DC? I'm sorry. The check is your D20 plus your modifier. I'm so sorry.
[00:58:31] Speaker E: You said plus charisma.
[00:58:32] Speaker A: So roll a D20 and add your charisma modifier.
[00:58:34] Speaker E: Yes. Yes.
[00:58:36] Speaker B: It's 13.
[00:58:41] Speaker A: You got a 13.
You. The magic does not seem to dissipate. Seems to.
[00:58:47] Speaker B: I'm sorry, guys. I'm not a good roller. I don't think I should do that.
[00:58:51] Speaker E: All right, guys, I'll try.
[00:58:54] Speaker A: If you draw good, it would have gone good. Dude, I'm sorry.
[00:58:58] Speaker D: Damn.
Wait. Find traps. Didn't.
It doesn't clarify what.
Whether it's magical or just mechanical, does it?
[00:59:11] Speaker A: The spell merely reveals that the trap. That a trap is pretty present.
[00:59:15] Speaker D: Okay, just check them.
[00:59:17] Speaker A: Yeah.
Did someone say they were doing something, or did I miss that?
[00:59:25] Speaker D: I interrupted, boss.
Landon, I interrupted.
[00:59:30] Speaker A: Lando. Were you doing something?
[00:59:32] Speaker E: Yes. Boz is going to cast dispel magic.
[00:59:37] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:59:37] Speaker E: Oh, goodness golly.
He's going to cast it at the fourth level.
[00:59:44] Speaker F: Okay.
[00:59:47] Speaker A: Pauses. You reach your hand over the door and wave it. There is a flourish of auburn magic and seeming to protrude from the stone around it. Roots fracture the stone very momentarily and wrap around the door. And as they do, there's this faint little of energy that flows off of it. And it appears that the door was automatically dispelled.
Looks like a fourth level spell was used to enchant Micah.
[01:00:12] Speaker E: That means your roll was one away. You were one.
[01:00:15] Speaker A: I am so sorry, my dude. If you literally rolled one higher, I'm so sorry.
[01:00:19] Speaker E: That also sucks. I only have one.
[01:00:20] Speaker A: Micah takes the Ls. Other people couldn't bear.
[01:00:24] Speaker E: True, true.
[01:00:26] Speaker A: Micah rolled for our sins. Anyway, Anyway. Anyway.
So the. The door appears to be no longer trapped.
All right, great.
[01:00:35] Speaker E: We got that taken care of.
Y' all want to go?
[01:00:40] Speaker C: I probably down there, but I. I don't know.
[01:00:43] Speaker E: I don't want to see the other ones.
[01:00:44] Speaker C: Me guessing.
[01:00:45] Speaker E: Yeah, I mean, we can skip to.
[01:00:46] Speaker D: The good part, but, like, let's take a peek.
Take a peek.
[01:00:51] Speaker A: Okay.
The right or the left first?
[01:00:54] Speaker C: Wasn't one of them a trap, was there? Not one.
[01:00:57] Speaker A: Yeah. The one that's no longer trapped. All three are now not trapped. There are three doors, and all three are not now trapped.
[01:01:02] Speaker E: Can I make a suggestion? Can I make a suggestion? I have the talking hand. Let's go to the door that he goes in the second most.
The other one that he does never goes to the one that he goes to because this one's the one he goes to the most.
[01:01:17] Speaker C: Let's go to the one that he goes up here.
Also, we land on this when you go down the ladder.
[01:01:26] Speaker B: So we just move our Feet and legs.
[01:01:28] Speaker D: Let's go. Let's go.
[01:01:30] Speaker A: The party gains four levels for managing to make a decision. And as you all go to the door on the right, the second most used door now, level 20 party.
Actually level 28.
As you guys go to the door and open it, the handle, it's not trapped, but it is locked.
[01:01:47] Speaker B: I send my.
Dang it.
[01:01:51] Speaker E: Oh, Mr. Ro.
[01:01:52] Speaker A: Like I said, my eye.
[01:01:54] Speaker D: Okay.
[01:01:55] Speaker A: I like to imagine that while the arcane eye is going, Craig is walking everywhere with one eye closed.
[01:02:02] Speaker C: Can.
[01:02:02] Speaker D: Can I. Craig can tell a walk. Pickage, please.
[01:02:05] Speaker A: Yes. Would anyone like to guide him?
[01:02:08] Speaker D: I guide him.
[01:02:09] Speaker A: Should I assume that Greta's just walking around guiding him the whole time? He's doing everything.
Yeah, I'm gonna do that.
Let me know about that roll, Brohim.
What'd you get?
[01:02:25] Speaker D: My math. Okay.
[01:02:29] Speaker A: This is the first session we're ever gonna have where Tello's gonna have next to the most checks. It's never gonna happen again.
[01:02:36] Speaker D: 15.
No, 15.
[01:02:40] Speaker A: 15. No, 15.
Wait, 15.
The handle resists and twists and there's a faint popping sound, but a mechanism sounds like a returns and teller. Just.
Sorry, I didn't.
[01:03:04] Speaker F: I'm nervous.
[01:03:05] Speaker A: Hands are sweating.
[01:03:06] Speaker D: Okay. It's okay. Tyler.
[01:03:07] Speaker F: Mom's spaghetti.
[01:03:09] Speaker A: I'm sorry.
[01:03:09] Speaker D: Where did that come from?
[01:03:11] Speaker A: I don't know. I just. This place just stresses me out.
[01:03:14] Speaker D: Is. Is it broken or. It is just not working.
[01:03:20] Speaker A: My nerves on me, but I could try again.
[01:03:25] Speaker D: Okay. Why don't you try this? Yeah. Try this one again and then we'll go to the other one.
[01:03:29] Speaker A: Roll for him again and guide him once more. The DC has increased.
[01:03:36] Speaker D: Yeah, that's gonna be.
[01:03:40] Speaker C: Inspire him.
[01:03:42] Speaker A: Okay.
After. You know whether or not a check fails or succeeds. You didn't.
[01:03:50] Speaker E: You didn't say.
[01:03:52] Speaker A: Oh, it was absolutely not specified.
[01:03:54] Speaker C: Okay, well, then.
[01:03:55] Speaker A: I don't know, after Abby went. Okay, well, here's the thing. Here's the thing, Jackie. That's your one, right? That's your one. And then from now on, if you're gonna barter inspired, do it before.
[01:04:07] Speaker D: Okay.
[01:04:09] Speaker A: Because I do know what non verbal.
[01:04:10] Speaker D: Signal I should have.
You should.
[01:04:15] Speaker A: What'd you get?
[01:04:20] Speaker D: Nine. No, 11 again. Sorry. I'm sorry, Jack.
[01:04:24] Speaker A: You got 11 with his. His modifier guidance and Bardic inspiration.
[01:04:28] Speaker D: It's sleight of hand, right?
[01:04:30] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:04:32] Speaker D: Yeah.
[01:04:32] Speaker E: What's his bonus?
[01:04:33] Speaker C: Why'd you roll?
[01:04:34] Speaker D: I'm sorry. Two.
[01:04:36] Speaker A: Yep. That'll do it.
[01:04:37] Speaker D: I'm sorry, Jackie.
[01:04:39] Speaker C: I should have to say. You're sorry.
[01:04:41] Speaker A: The door, the handle jiggles and there's this like as one of his four lock pit sets breaks doors don't jiggle, jiggle.
Unless you're trying to take the door down. I don't think we're getting in here.
[01:04:54] Speaker C: Yeah, let's. I say we move other door.
[01:04:57] Speaker F: Okay.
[01:04:58] Speaker D: We want to do the, the least used door.
[01:05:03] Speaker C: I. I don't know.
[01:05:05] Speaker A: There are two doors remaining. Do you go down or to the left?
[01:05:10] Speaker C: I say we go to the left.
[01:05:12] Speaker D: Okay.
[01:05:12] Speaker C: To the left. Everything we own in a box.
[01:05:16] Speaker A: All right.
[01:05:17] Speaker C: To the left.
[01:05:17] Speaker A: Okay. The party goes there.
Sensing no traps, you try the handle. And it also appears locked. Get the feeling a lot of things might be locked down here in the super secret basement.
[01:05:28] Speaker D: Okay. He locks exit.
You got this? You got this, bud.
Yes.
[01:05:37] Speaker A: Okay, just let me know if you're gonna roll. What?
[01:05:42] Speaker D: Okay, I will.
15 again.
[01:05:52] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:05:53] Speaker C: Let me check with guidance.
[01:05:55] Speaker A: My diagram and my DCs are on a different page.
Okay. The door.
And he pushes the handle down and it opens. And he opens the door.
[01:06:12] Speaker F: Then he goes. Got it.
[01:06:15] Speaker A: He puts the picks away and as the door swings open. This is a very heavy rusty.
It opens with a horrible creaking sound.
[01:06:25] Speaker D: Oh wow.
[01:06:26] Speaker A: Pass in.
In front of you is like a 50 foot sort of just walkway about 10ft wide, flat stone.
And on your right are long divisions of standing floor to wall iron bars on the left as well. And at the end, the sections on the right are divided into two. 25 foot, 25 by 8 by like. And it's like a 10 foot tall room. So 25 by 10 by 8 foot cells. Two on the right, two on the left. And at the end of the room is another cell that's.
I guess that would make it 26ft wide, 8ft deep, 10ft high. And there's just five cells in here.
This is, this is a dungeon.
[01:07:18] Speaker F: Dungeon, dungeon, dungeon.
[01:07:20] Speaker A: This is a dungeon.
As you all walk in, there are low braziers there. There are sources of flame burning on torch bases, but they're in the middle of the room. They're not near the walls where anyone could reach through the bars and grab them. And they're burning on rods attached to the floor with a low light. And you can see stool posts by the door where guards could sit.
There are empty wooden pails near some of the cells.
And there are doors hinged with lock mechanisms and handles on each.
Actually just lock mechanisms where once you unlock them they come free. And inside are sodden and ripped hay piles.
There are poop buckets. Thank you for checking, Abby.
The smell in here is Awful.
There are manacles and shackles in some of the cells connected to the walls. Some of the cells have, like, benches chained to the wall. So that's a more comfortable cell. The ones on the left and the ones on the right have manacles attached to the wall. And then the one at the end of the room is sort of out of the span of fire and draped in a little shadow. And once you guys walk in, 60ft of light goes almost to the end of the space, even lights up a little bit of the bar at the opposite side as light shines off of Greta. 30ft of bright light and 30ft of dim. You can see that the two cells on the left are empty.
The one on the right, there is one dead person with arms in the cuffs hanging from the wall.
They are not skeletal, but they are very, very, very badly decomposed. And in fact, the body. The smell in here is awful because it is a smell of decomposition. The smell of human waste, humanoid waste, and the smell of charred flesh. Because this body, at some stage in its decomposition, has been partially burned. Help stave off the stench with a slightly less horrible one.
That is the only body in a cell on the right. And so basically, cells on the left, empty cells on the right. There's one body hanging from a wall.
[01:09:25] Speaker E: And one at the end of the room. You said there was what?
[01:09:29] Speaker A: Yes, there's one more cell, but it's far enough away that the light source doesn't reach all the way into it. So you guys can see five feet of light right in the front, but it's a little deeper than that.
Should we walk to the end of the room? You could see it, but from here you cannot.
[01:09:46] Speaker D: Craig, can you send your eye to go look in that?
[01:09:49] Speaker A: Micah, you're muted. This is the.
[01:09:50] Speaker B: I send in. I send in my eyeball.
[01:09:53] Speaker A: Okay.
Craig, you float your eye halfway down the room as you can, and as it does, as it gets halfway down, you.
[01:10:11] Speaker F: Darkvision 30ft.
[01:10:12] Speaker A: Yeah, you can see the end of the cell and the light, but it cannot.
It can't see past where the light ends. So it is also restrained by the end of visibility that you all have.
[01:10:23] Speaker D: So I thought I had dark vision.
[01:10:26] Speaker A: Darkvision can see clearly in dim light, but it cannot see in the absence of. Of light and also has a 30 foot reference. And Micah can extend it 30ft and you all have 60ft of light provided by the light spell. So if.
[01:10:39] Speaker B: If Craig, how about star splinter?
[01:10:42] Speaker C: We just. Can we just walk towards.
[01:10:44] Speaker A: Yeah, and then the party takes a couple steps Forward as you all walk deeper into the space. The charred body chain to the wall is awful.
It's terrible to look at. It's terrible to smell.
It is hard not to retch in this room. There are so many bad smells. There's the metallic smell of blood. There's burned flesh.
There's a very old smell of refuse.
This is a dark place in many ways.
As you all walk a little further and you get to the point where light reaches the end of the room. The cell is another empty pail, another bench to the wall, manacles on one side.
There is a form huddled on the bench chain to the wall.
It's a humanoid form. Their back is turned to you.
The individual might be alive, might be dead.
That is true.
If you shout about it, you'll start to hear us, and you can't. Oh, my God. Yeah, hold on.
[01:11:49] Speaker C: Sorry. Micah.
[01:11:51] Speaker B: I'm sorry. I can hear you now. No, I can hear you now.
I just needed you to go back a few sentences.
[01:11:58] Speaker A: Absolutely, absolutely.
[01:11:59] Speaker B: That was not.
I was just letting you guys know.
[01:12:03] Speaker E: Dad, it's okay.
[01:12:04] Speaker A: Well, it was. It was just funny that you were like, I can't hear you. I can't hear you.
[01:12:08] Speaker B: I can't hear you talking this thing. And I thought that you.
[01:12:13] Speaker A: Absolutely, absolutely. You all walk to the end of the room, and there is a form huddled on the wooden bench that's chained to foot off the wall.
It very well could be another dead person and it could be a living person.
They are still.
They are draped in old and ruined clothes.
You can see a body with skin, with humanoid skin and hair, long and matty and greased. And the figure is incredibly still in the field position opposite you all. There has been no reaction to your entrance to the room.
[01:12:45] Speaker C: I say, I like, not super loud, obviously, just like, hello.
No movement or anything.
[01:12:58] Speaker A: This would be another moment where I could make things interesting with a check. But two of you all have a passive perception of 20. So you all can see that at an incredibly slow interval, maybe once every five or six seconds, the rib cage is very softly lifting, struggling, and faulting.
[01:13:17] Speaker D: Okay.
[01:13:19] Speaker A: It would appear that this individual retains some semblance of life.
[01:13:23] Speaker C: Did you say there's also someone? No. They're on the bench.
[01:13:31] Speaker E: Boss tries to open the cage.
[01:13:33] Speaker C: Yeah, I'm sorry.
[01:13:35] Speaker A: I was trying to go up to the door. I mean, it's. It's. It's. It's a cell door. It. It opens by being unlocked. It is.
[01:13:42] Speaker C: I look, I do an investigation, check for keys on the wall by the Door dm.
[01:13:48] Speaker A: I make an investigation check. Okay.
[01:13:51] Speaker C: Sorry.
[01:13:51] Speaker A: I get the feeling that might have been the sort of thing the captain had on them.
[01:13:56] Speaker C: Oh.
[01:13:57] Speaker A: Oh, no. Sublimated.
[01:13:59] Speaker C: David.
[01:14:03] Speaker A: Yeah. Tello goes.
[01:14:05] Speaker F: Do you want this open?
[01:14:07] Speaker E: If you can, Tello, if you can. How many lockpick sets do you have left?
[01:14:11] Speaker D: Three.
[01:14:12] Speaker F: I have three.
[01:14:13] Speaker E: Okay. Yeah, let's try. I guide him, and I say a quick prayer to the maker as well.
[01:14:18] Speaker A: Under my breath that it doesn't break.
I also cross my fingers.
[01:14:23] Speaker E: I close my fair work, Zachary.
[01:14:30] Speaker A: I love y'. All.
[01:14:31] Speaker D: It's a 15.
Are we seeing a trend here, guys? Are we seeing a trend? Are we seeing a trend?
[01:14:41] Speaker A: Tello's, like, not halfway through the motion before the lock just gives with a shark squeak.
And. And he goes, oh, okay.
[01:14:50] Speaker F: Much simpler lock.
[01:14:51] Speaker A: And he puts the. The lock picks back in his pocket, and he steps back as the door opens.
[01:15:06] Speaker B: Can I. Can I do.
I want to do lay on hands.
[01:15:15] Speaker A: Okay. So Craig just walks right in and puts his hands on the body.
Craig, Right. As you get up to it, simply.
[01:15:23] Speaker B: Speaking, welcoming, like, I assume you don't.
[01:15:27] Speaker A: Lay on hands by taking an elbow and driving it into the jaw. No, I mean, go.
[01:15:30] Speaker C: I go.
[01:15:33] Speaker B: We come in peace.
[01:15:35] Speaker A: Okay.
You walk up, and in soft intonations, you whisper, and you put your hand on the body. And as you whisper and touch the individual.
I think you have to choose.
I think you have to choose an amount of. Of hit points to transfer. Is that correct?
I think you have a pool to draw from.
[01:15:59] Speaker B: I would like to do a paladin level times five. Right.
[01:16:07] Speaker A: So you have six.
Is that 70 hit points to draw from?
[01:16:18] Speaker B: I'm probably just gonna.
[01:16:19] Speaker D: Let's do, like.
[01:16:22] Speaker B: I don't know, y'.
[01:16:25] Speaker A: All. I don't know.
[01:16:25] Speaker B: I've never done this before.
[01:16:27] Speaker C: Wrong.
[01:16:29] Speaker B: Should I do all of it or should I do some of it?
[01:16:32] Speaker E: I would.
[01:16:33] Speaker F: Okay.
[01:16:35] Speaker A: Or.
[01:16:35] Speaker D: Or you can.
[01:16:38] Speaker E: Don't burn it all. Just give some. Just do some, like, 20. 20.
[01:16:45] Speaker B: 20 is a good number.
[01:16:48] Speaker A: Okay.
Landon's over here being like, I know the stat block of a commoner.
And Craig, as you put the hands, there's a little flash of light and some of the magic ripples of light across the individual and they.
And a hand up against the stone, and the arm is trembling and then sort of claws down the stone as they do. There are these long fingernails that are broken, and there's matted blood where some of the fingernails have come off. And the individual.
And then there's a really quick and unsettling Motion as they sit up really quickly. And Craig, you like, I assume, jolt back or I don't know. However you react, the individual pops up and the individual who turns around and looks at you is not in good health, no longer dying.
The individual who sets up is gaunt.
They are call them a wood elf. They are a wood elven person.
It's hard to tell their age, they're so badly weathered. Skin is wrinkled and sallowed and pale. Wood elves tend to have darker toned skin. But this person is clearly missing sunlight for a very long time. The hair, the coiled hair is knotted into heavy. I mean a dread would be a wrong comparison.
It's ragged and thin, thick and coiled and matted on sides. They are covered in lesions and sallow points in their skin.
Clearly wounds have already been healing on them from how you touched them. They are badly emaciated.
It looks like he's a guy, he's clearly an adult, but it's hard to tell from beyond that. And there's like the remnants of like sort of the ankle portion of a chew on his left foot, but that's it. And interestingly a fairly nice bronze bracelet on his left wrist. And when you are there, he just pushes back up against the wall and shoves up against the wall.
[01:19:00] Speaker F: He says, messi Missy.
[01:19:01] Speaker B: My name is Craig.
[01:19:05] Speaker A: What's he speaking, Greta? You understand his insinian directly. And he says please, please, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Please don't hurt me.
[01:19:13] Speaker D: Okay, I. I read into the cell and I, I start translating for, for Craig. And I, I say, I say, hello, we're friends. We're not here to hurt you. We want to help you. Who are you?
[01:19:24] Speaker A: Tello's hand just grips around a night hill knife hilt very tightly from where he's standing, but he's not moving.
Tello's looking back at the door.
[01:19:34] Speaker C: I turn my band of ambassadors on so I can.
[01:19:38] Speaker A: Okay, Rose, you also understand. And he just continues and he says my name is Met Met and that is M E T Met. And he says who are you all? And he keeps like covering his eyes from the light coming off of Greta.
[01:19:58] Speaker F: Oh, did you get down there?
[01:20:04] Speaker D: I say, we're. We're. Were guests of the Count.
[01:20:09] Speaker C: Is Rose is.
I'm sure not.
[01:20:16] Speaker D: Okay, sorry.
[01:20:18] Speaker C: We're.
[01:20:19] Speaker D: The cat invited us here and we're trying to find him. We don't know where he's hiding.
[01:20:23] Speaker E: He invited us here to kill us.
[01:20:25] Speaker A: Well, Tello and. Or boss and Craig are understanding none of what's being said. It's Being said in flu and C in the individual moving back into the fetal position, crawling up against the wall with his arm over his head.
[01:20:37] Speaker F: I'm sorry.
[01:20:37] Speaker A: Please. Please, just give me. Please just give me.
[01:20:40] Speaker C: We're not.
[01:20:40] Speaker A: We're not.
[01:20:42] Speaker D: Can I lower my light? Can I make my light less?
[01:20:45] Speaker A: Yeah, you can dim it. And he sort of, like, lowers his hands.
[01:20:48] Speaker F: I'm sorry.
[01:20:49] Speaker D: I say we. We are. We are not friends of the Count.
Why. Why are you in here?
[01:20:55] Speaker C: How long have you been here?
[01:20:57] Speaker A: Why don't. Greta, why don't you make me a persuasion check?
[01:21:02] Speaker C: Can I assist?
[01:21:05] Speaker D: Oh.
[01:21:08] Speaker C: Not.
[01:21:09] Speaker A: Not a lot was contributed. I'll say.
[01:21:11] Speaker C: No, I smile.
[01:21:14] Speaker A: I look real pretty.
[01:21:16] Speaker D: I have a garden.
[01:21:19] Speaker A: Well, Greta doesn't need help.
The 20. He just lowers his hand a little.
[01:21:25] Speaker F: Bit and he goes, you are not the regular guard.
[01:21:29] Speaker D: No, we're not. We don't work for the camp.
[01:21:32] Speaker A: We're.
[01:21:32] Speaker D: We're enemies.
[01:21:35] Speaker F: Why did you begin by saying you were friends?
[01:21:38] Speaker D: No, he. I'm sorry. I'm. I'm sorry. He invited us here to kill us.
[01:21:47] Speaker C: And then he left. And so we're trying to find him.
[01:21:53] Speaker D: Why are you in here?
[01:21:56] Speaker A: Met sort of pulls himself close, and he shifts his wrist toward himself, covers his arms over each other, and he says.
[01:22:04] Speaker F: I don't know who you are.
[01:22:07] Speaker A: Passive perception. 20 people. Again, an interesting check that's just got to be chalked up to 20. Passive perception. As he shifts his arm toward himself. You. You all both noticed on his wrist, halfway down his forearm burned into his arm. His forearm burned into his arm. A symbol with which you are well familiar.
The symbol of an open hand burned into his skin.
It is the symbol of La Pomme A. And the middle of the symbol has a very deep scar going through it, as if someone cut, like, quarter of an inch into his forearm, right through the symbol.
[01:22:41] Speaker C: Can I.
[01:22:41] Speaker A: Badly healed.
[01:22:42] Speaker C: Can I do a arcon check to see if I.
Because, like, I'm basically. To see if that bracelet he's wearing, like, looks magical or has any symbols on it.
[01:22:59] Speaker A: You're very familiar with magical items at this point.
[01:23:07] Speaker C: Okay, that's a 34.
[01:23:16] Speaker A: 34.
[01:23:22] Speaker C: Bro.
[01:23:25] Speaker A: Like, Micah knows that fart jokes are funny. You know that that's just a humdum ring, dink. Bronze brain bracelet he likes. And no one.
You know it. Like, I know my cats have black fur. You know it. Like people know the sun is in the sky. You just know it. You know it. I know you know your name.
Why don't you make a perception check for me also?
[01:23:47] Speaker C: Did you say he's not, he doesn't have any clothes on.
[01:23:51] Speaker A: No, he, he's wearing. Well, I mean, they're clothes in the most.
[01:23:57] Speaker C: Conceptual sense, but because I was, I was gonna say, I. I give him my. I have like a silk blanket in my bag. I. I give that to him to wrap around himself.
[01:24:07] Speaker D: We give the blanket.
[01:24:09] Speaker C: I give the blanket.
[01:24:11] Speaker A: Well, boss, well, let's start with one thing at a time, boss.
[01:24:13] Speaker E: 17.
But wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Let me get my guidance going, you know? You know I gotta do that. That's an 18, boss.
[01:24:20] Speaker A: Staring at the guy, just slapping himself with magic.
18, you said? Yes, well, the DC was much lower. Boz, you do notice the brand. And so you in turn pull your sleeve up and show him.
[01:24:35] Speaker E: I take off my druid's defense because that's what's covering the brand.
[01:24:38] Speaker A: Oh yeah, sick. It never comes off. He looks at you. He looks at you and goes.
[01:24:42] Speaker E: And I show it to him.
[01:24:47] Speaker A: And boss, you do not understand as he says, and you all understand him saying, you are part of la.
[01:24:57] Speaker D: I translate.
[01:24:59] Speaker A: Okay, Boz, you have it translated for you?
[01:25:04] Speaker E: Yes, I, I.
We know, we know the.
[01:25:10] Speaker F: Sorry, I apologize.
Common, Common, of course you would not speak in. I'm sorry. I'm sorry.
Why are you all. Have you come down here?
[01:25:21] Speaker D: Why are you here?
[01:25:23] Speaker E: We accidentally prevented the Count from in a plot to kill the Empress and he's been chasing after us ever since.
[01:25:33] Speaker A: And boss, smallest thing ever. You said Countess and I know you know it. It's not a big deal. We're gonna move on.
[01:25:38] Speaker E: I said Empress. I said Empress, right?
[01:25:41] Speaker A: Oh, excuse me. You confidently say the wrong title and.
[01:25:43] Speaker E: He goes, no, no, Zack, I don't understand what you said. Zack.
[01:25:46] Speaker A: The Countess. The Countess.
[01:25:49] Speaker E: Yes, the Countess.
[01:25:50] Speaker A: Okay. Countess Marie Saglant, the head of La Pomme.
Anyway, it's not a big deal. You say the correct title and he responds and he says, you are from La Paume.
[01:26:07] Speaker F: Yes, sufficiently. So, yes, I was a courier of.
[01:26:15] Speaker A: Hers, that is all.
[01:26:18] Speaker F: Just someone to send an olive branch.
[01:26:23] Speaker D: Can I do an insight?
[01:26:24] Speaker A: I'm sorry, I just make an insight check. Make an insight check.
[01:26:28] Speaker C: Hand him the blanket for him.
[01:26:30] Speaker A: Oh, sorry, I totally forgot.
Jackie, make a persuasion check, bro, is your hand in the blanket?
[01:26:35] Speaker C: Oh, okay.
[01:26:37] Speaker A: NAT1. NAT1 Agudo. You're focusing on what he is saying. And a slight difference in pressure for the air of the room of the recently opened door just wafts some of that burnt corpse smell by your nose. And your thought pattern is interrupted by trying not to Gag.
[01:26:53] Speaker D: It's stanky. It's stanking.
[01:26:54] Speaker A: What'd you get on your persuasion check, bro?
[01:26:56] Speaker C: 21.
[01:26:58] Speaker A: 21.
As you hold out the blanket, really bookending this story in a way that you don't even know. He accepts the blanket and walks around him and goes.
[01:27:07] Speaker F: Thank you.
[01:27:09] Speaker C: Would you like me to.
With your permission, would you like me to clean you up a bit? It won't hurt or anything. It's magic.
And I press to digitate him a few times.
[01:27:23] Speaker A: It takes four. Four. But he is. He is clean. He just.
[01:27:26] Speaker F: Thank you.
You all are leaving this place.
[01:27:34] Speaker C: Yeah. And. And you can too. If, if.
I mean, we're gonna. We're gonna keep looking for the. For the count, but I would like. You can. You can get out if you want. I would recommend it, actually.
[01:27:46] Speaker A: He just stands up and gives you a big hug.
Like it's kind of painful and a little too much. And even after all those present agitations, he still smells a bit.
And he just squeezes you.
[01:27:56] Speaker F: Thank you, thank you, thank you.
[01:27:58] Speaker A: And he, like, like out of desperation, like, kisses the crown of your head right here four or five times. Like it's. He's not well and just like four or five desperate, and he's like grabbing the sides of your head and he just.
[01:28:10] Speaker F: Thank you.
[01:28:12] Speaker A: He stands up.
[01:28:15] Speaker F: I need to go with you. Are the guards still here?
[01:28:20] Speaker C: The guards are. Are. No, they kind of rebelled.
They're. They're doing their own thing. You can get out.
[01:28:31] Speaker D: There's a lot of. There's a lot of turmoil. We don't know what's going on outside. There's a lot of turmoil and it. It could be dangerous.
We're not sure.
[01:28:43] Speaker C: And we.
[01:28:44] Speaker B: Is there anything that we could put on him or do for him to help him get out undetected?
[01:28:53] Speaker A: He looks down at himself in tattered clothes and he goes.
[01:28:59] Speaker C: I, I.
[01:29:00] Speaker F: Can I just stay with you all?
You seem competent.
[01:29:04] Speaker B: You.
[01:29:05] Speaker D: We're going to go the town and fight him.
If you want. You can if you want.
Okay.
[01:29:15] Speaker A: Thank you.
[01:29:15] Speaker F: Do you have any food?
Do you have any food? Any water, please.
[01:29:27] Speaker A: Somebody. You all have rations on you? Some can be provided.
[01:29:31] Speaker D: Okay, yeah.
[01:29:33] Speaker A: You hand him the water skin. He put his mouth right on that bad boy. Out of desperation. Got his mouth all over it, but he drains that thing.
So somebody has an empty water skin, he hands that back to them and somebody gives them some rations. He inhales that. He chokes on it for a little bit, but he keeps it down. And he just says, thank you.
Blessed. Bless you.
[01:29:58] Speaker F: Bless you.
[01:29:59] Speaker A: And he just, like, touches each of you all, and then he's out of there, down the hall and up the ladder.
[01:30:11] Speaker B: Zach tell me he gets out safe.
[01:30:14] Speaker E: I take the sending stone and I call the countess real quick. And we don't have to role play that, but I just let her know, say, hey, we're at the Count's castle right now about to go fight him. We just freed this guy's name. I'm not gonna run the risk of saying it wrong and get crucified, but we freed him. He should be heading your way.
[01:30:35] Speaker A: Earlier was not to correct you. It was to say that you originally said it right, and then you pelled up a glock and said, it's Empress. And I said what I said, and I was like, I'm sorry.
[01:30:43] Speaker E: No, no, it's okay. It's okay, it's okay. But no, he, I. So I let her know. I gave her a heads up that he's free, he should be heading out, and that I don't know how he's.
[01:30:51] Speaker A: I just let her know that the courier.
[01:30:53] Speaker E: We don't have to role play that, but I. I just let her know.
[01:30:55] Speaker A: Well, well, absolutely. You have her on the stone call, and she responds and says.
[01:31:04] Speaker F: You are in the castle.
[01:31:06] Speaker E: Yeah, yeah, we're in the underlevels, under level.
[01:31:11] Speaker F: How have you arrived there?
[01:31:15] Speaker E: We came for dinner, and he tried to fight us, and then he dipped and we started a revolt. All his guards are like, leaving now.
[01:31:22] Speaker A: And so we're just.
[01:31:25] Speaker F: Thank you for the information, boss. I will take some precautions.
[01:31:36] Speaker E: Honestly, I'm so worried.
[01:31:38] Speaker D: Why is she so nervous? I'm so worried.
[01:31:40] Speaker E: One, One thing. One.
[01:31:41] Speaker C: I'm.
[01:31:41] Speaker E: I said keep talking to her. I say, I say. The thing he's so mad about us, by the way, we finally found out is that we ruined his plot to kill you. He was trying to kill you.
[01:31:50] Speaker F: You told me this some months ago when you were in Sage, I believe.
[01:31:54] Speaker E: Oh, that's right, I did.
[01:31:56] Speaker F: I have increased my guard ever since. But knowing this development, I think I will change positions slightly.
[01:32:05] Speaker E: If you don't hear back from me in the next, like, couple days, just assume that we're dead. But if you do hear back from me, that means he's dead or gone.
[01:32:18] Speaker F: Good luck to you, boss.
[01:32:20] Speaker A: Thank you.
[01:32:22] Speaker E: And.
[01:32:25] Speaker A: Okay, gonna make a little note of that. Keep.
[01:32:35] Speaker C: Okay, I think we should go check the. I, I. Maybe we should just get on with it and go on down. I mean, if you guys want to go in that other door, but.
[01:32:51] Speaker D: Yeah, I think we should skip that one and go.
Go down the trap door.
[01:33:00] Speaker C: Y' all see the note?
[01:33:02] Speaker B: The note. Status.
I wonder if he ever called the Countess of App and witch to her face.
[01:33:13] Speaker A: Who did that? Was that Jackie? That's Jackie.
Jackie, I just want to say this as someone who's been here for all these years. You're getting funnier, dude. Like in. In the best way. I like it.
[01:33:24] Speaker B: You weren't before, but now.
[01:33:26] Speaker C: My God.
[01:33:28] Speaker A: Need to be a diss.
Okay, so the party got knocked down the hall.
You all go to the unlocked trapdoor and you. This is a good pace.
And you all lift up the door.
And as you do, as you lift the door, you watch a little circle of like a glyphic pattern break. And you see how there was a pretty potent trap there originally. I don't know. What's Abby dying at?
I want to see a Bachelor style episode where boss is the bachelor and the Bachelorette are all the powerful political women he's ever spoken to. Love Island. It's Boz Island. Yes. Omg. That's what you're dying at. That's what's killing you, Abby.
[01:34:10] Speaker C: Sleepy.
[01:34:11] Speaker D: I'm getting sleepy. It's making me loopy.
[01:34:15] Speaker A: That would be a really fun one. One shot.
Abby just.
[01:34:19] Speaker C: I've been saying this for years. A Bachelor style one shot.
[01:34:23] Speaker A: Yes, you have been. Anyway, so then the party goes down the trapdoor. And there is another.
There is another. This one is a 20 foot down long ladder that leads to another level that splits into two paths. These in different directions. But do you all head down this ladder as well?
[01:34:39] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:34:39] Speaker F: Okay.
[01:34:40] Speaker A: The party travels down.
This space is very different. It is actually better lit and it is very laterally asymmetrical. So on one side, the paths are altering pattern a little bit. But I'm going to continue to refer them as right and left because every time you reach the bottom of a walkway, they are always right and left parallel to your.
[01:34:59] Speaker F: To your final position.
[01:35:01] Speaker A: On the right, there is a very heavy metal door, like a thick, large door that looks reinforced. It has a handle mechanism and clearly has a lock on it.
And then to your left is a much longer hallway.
This the full distance of the previous walkway. So this is like 70, 80ft down. And it leads to a larger chamber that goes up and kind of disappears in the darkness a little bit.
And you can see from some braziers burning further down that way. Actually, no, it's pretty well lit. It's just an open receptacle chamber that leads to what appears to be raising up like the floor ends and drops into darkness. And coming up out of it, lit by the braziers, is the top of another spiral stairwell, leaving down of another floating staircase. Very dramatic and visually apparent.
Craig, you send your eyeball out 30ft. It goes 30ft from you. You realize to get to the end of the almost 80 foot passage, you would need to walk 50ft down. Then send the eyeball down. Do you do that?
[01:36:02] Speaker B: Get to the spiral staircase. I'll use my eyeball.
[01:36:05] Speaker A: Okay. Craig walks 50ft down the passage. And as he sends the arcane eye, it looks over the edge and peers down. How long does that last again, Craig?
[01:36:12] Speaker B: An hour?
[01:36:14] Speaker A: Okay. Absolutely. You still have looks down the way. And this is a very substantial. Oh, excuse me. This is not a floating staircase built into the wall. A spiral staircase. And so the eye can see down that the staircase begins. Right. Trapping close to the wall.
[01:36:28] Speaker B: Where does it go?
[01:36:30] Speaker A: Okay, Craig walks all the way to the staircase. And as the light, as the eye spirals down, it goes down about 30ft and 30ft down you can just see the staircase. And it appears to spill out into a way that might be another hall, but you can't tell from there.
[01:36:47] Speaker B: Okay, yalls turn.
It's a spiral staircase.
It goes down further.
[01:36:54] Speaker A: So basically you guys went down the letter the ladder to the second level. Down on one side, big metal door. On the other side, passageway that leads down away and then leads down even further down.
[01:37:04] Speaker C: Yikers.
[01:37:06] Speaker A: It's a pretty extensive.
[01:37:07] Speaker E: We try to use the stone again to see if there's any clues on where he goes the most.
[01:37:13] Speaker C: The stone. Oh, you mean the. Oh yeah. I get it out. I get out my side of pass paths.
[01:37:20] Speaker A: You pull out side of pass paths. And as you look to either position.
Sorry, I have to check my notes here.
Both spaces have quite a bit of foot traffic.
Both clearly have a great deal of foot traffic from the Count. First of all, you start. There are. There are footsteps from the captain here, but very few like you can count out the individual paths. They only run together in a few sections. It seems like he came down here very infrequently. But the Count's footpaths are still very present here.
The path to the right to the immediate heavy metal door is pretty flooded by tracks of footsteps, but so is the opposite way. They both look heavily used.
[01:38:04] Speaker C: Okay.
[01:38:06] Speaker A: This is such an interesting tool to have in this space.
I can't wait to finish all this and then send you guys a picture of this diagram.
[01:38:15] Speaker F: Ooh.
[01:38:16] Speaker A: Because I have it.
I'll Put it on the Patreon.
[01:38:19] Speaker C: Is the. Is the door to the right locked? I. I go up and. And inspect it. I don't touch it yet, but I look and see if it looks like there's.
[01:38:27] Speaker A: I mean, it very clearly has a lock mechanism on the.
[01:38:30] Speaker C: Okay.
I mean, that makes sense.
I don't know, guys. I mean, I don't know where he's at. This is a labyrinth.
I say we. I don't know.
I. I don't. I don't know. I don't know if he would have gone down somewhere.
[01:38:55] Speaker A: I don't. I don't.
[01:38:56] Speaker C: I don't know.
[01:39:10] Speaker A: What's the party doing?
[01:39:16] Speaker C: What. What do you guys. Should we go in the door or to the stair?
[01:39:25] Speaker E: I said pretty tough option.
[01:39:28] Speaker C: I say we try the door.
Can you. You can't still see traps, can you, Greta?
[01:39:34] Speaker A: It was instantaneous. She would need to.
[01:39:36] Speaker C: Oh, okay.
[01:39:36] Speaker A: Also, Abby, you are muted. This is the way.
[01:39:49] Speaker C: I mean, I don't know why there. There seemed to have only been tr. Traps where he would be going. I feel maybe.
[01:40:01] Speaker E: I think you're right. You're on to something. There. There's only traps. Tracks where he's going to where he's going.
[01:40:07] Speaker C: Are you being sarcastic right now, Lynn?
[01:40:09] Speaker E: No, no, I'm being 100%.
[01:40:11] Speaker C: Okay. I thought you were like. Yeah, like. I mean, like, I think he went down here. Right.
And so he put a trap over the door.
[01:40:22] Speaker E: Yeah.
[01:40:23] Speaker C: So if there's a trap on the stairs versus a trap on the door, then one of those.
[01:40:31] Speaker A: True.
[01:40:31] Speaker C: I would say the one with the trap on it, which is probably where he's going, would be my. I mean, that's just a guess.
[01:40:38] Speaker E: Yeah, that's a good guess.
[01:40:39] Speaker A: I think you're onto something.
What's the party doing?
[01:40:49] Speaker C: Craig, do you have.
[01:40:50] Speaker A: Reaching that indecision. Freeze again.
[01:40:53] Speaker C: Craig, do you have any, you know, seeing magic stuff or anything like that, possibilities or Trapped.
[01:41:05] Speaker B: Hold on.
I do have divine sense.
Hold on.
As an action, I can open up my awareness to detect such forces.
I can know the location of any celestial fiend or undead within 60ft. That's not behind total cover.
I might not help.
[01:41:29] Speaker C: It's more.
[01:41:29] Speaker B: I can.
[01:41:30] Speaker A: Oh.
[01:41:30] Speaker B: I can detect the presence of any place or object that has been consecrated or desecrated. Created.
I don't know what that means.
[01:41:38] Speaker C: That probably wouldn't help.
[01:41:40] Speaker B: No, that's all I got. That's just what's in my little book that I keep. Descriptions of things I've done in the past. That's how I knew all that information.
[01:41:51] Speaker C: Yeah. Like. Yeah, I can. I can I look for physical traps? I mean, I don't have detect traps.
[01:42:07] Speaker A: But you can make an invest on this metal door is what you're trying to do. Yeah, you can.
You can make an investigation check. Yeah, you can try and try and detect. You can make. You can make a trap check. It's an investigation check.
[01:42:22] Speaker C: Okay.
That is gonna be a 21.
[01:42:34] Speaker A: A 21 with a pretty thorough inspection. Ro. You do not see any evidence of any of the mechanisms, markings of a trap. It appears as though it is untrained.
[01:42:49] Speaker C: And I don't see any glyphs or anything.
[01:42:59] Speaker A: You do not see any evidence of magical traps? No.
[01:43:05] Speaker C: What do you guys think?
I mean, I don't see a trap.
What avenue could it be?
[01:43:13] Speaker A: Should I cast.
[01:43:14] Speaker D: Should I look for traps magically?
[01:43:17] Speaker C: If you. If you. You feel like you got enough juice left in you, Greta.
[01:43:21] Speaker D: I think I do. Greta looks for traps.
[01:43:25] Speaker A: Okay.
Okay. So you cast fine traps.
[01:43:32] Speaker D: I cast fine traps, Greta.
[01:43:35] Speaker A: The magic flares and.
[01:43:39] Speaker F: Let me see.
[01:43:41] Speaker A: Immediately you can tell that the door to your right is not trapped, nor is there any trap down the passageway to your left. This door is most certainly.
Yeah.
[01:43:54] Speaker D: Oh, there's no traps.
[01:43:57] Speaker A: Not on. No, I mean this. This door to your right is clearly not trapped.
[01:44:01] Speaker D: Okay. And there's none down the hallway.
[01:44:05] Speaker A: No.
[01:44:08] Speaker C: Sorry for having you do that, Greta.
[01:44:10] Speaker D: No, it's okay.
[01:44:13] Speaker E: I think safety is worth the second level spell slot.
[01:44:16] Speaker C: I think it's a good choice.
[01:44:17] Speaker D: Yeah.
[01:44:19] Speaker C: Yeah, I guess.
[01:44:19] Speaker B: Let's go through the.
[01:44:20] Speaker C: Through the door. I don't know. I honestly don't know.
[01:44:25] Speaker A: Take a crack at that.
Can I get to the transportation or.
[01:44:28] Speaker F: I don't know, something.
[01:44:30] Speaker D: Yeah.
Plays a tune, bro.
[01:44:33] Speaker C: Okay.
[01:44:35] Speaker A: Not.
[01:44:36] Speaker D: Not far.
[01:44:36] Speaker B: I'm not.
[01:44:36] Speaker D: I'm not asking for bar inspiration. I'm just like, role playing. Like, give us some. Anyway.
[01:44:41] Speaker F: I'm not trying to pressure you, bro.
[01:44:43] Speaker A: And he pulls out his picks and starts picking.
[01:44:46] Speaker C: I will.
[01:44:47] Speaker D: I didn't mean to.
[01:44:48] Speaker C: I'll Bartically inspire. Yeah.
[01:44:50] Speaker F: Okay.
[01:44:50] Speaker A: Take a roll, Emmy.
Micah's fighting.
[01:44:55] Speaker D: Greta also guides him.
[01:44:59] Speaker C: D10.
[01:45:14] Speaker D: Are you guys. Can I tell you? Can I be on it? Is this a safe space?
[01:45:17] Speaker A: Yes.
[01:45:18] Speaker C: Is it a 15?
[01:45:20] Speaker D: No.
[01:45:21] Speaker A: Oh, okay.
[01:45:21] Speaker D: All of those times that I was adding a two to tell his modifier, that was Greta's sheet.
[01:45:29] Speaker B: Oh, no.
[01:45:31] Speaker A: That was making a lot. I was sitting there thinking, man, this is so unlikely. I think. I think his. His role should be so much higher.
[01:45:37] Speaker D: Tello has a plus.
[01:45:38] Speaker C: Okay.
[01:45:39] Speaker E: Yes. That may sounds better. That Sounds better.
[01:45:41] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:45:42] Speaker D: I would like. I would like to formally apologize. He is.
[01:45:45] Speaker A: No, it's okay.
[01:45:46] Speaker C: And it's okay. We've all been there.
[01:45:49] Speaker E: It takes a lot to manage two full characters.
[01:45:52] Speaker D: A lot. That is my bad. He actually has a plus nine, so we're just going to update that right now.
[01:45:59] Speaker A: Absolutely. We're doing right now.
[01:46:02] Speaker D: Yeah.
He got.
[01:46:04] Speaker C: What is this roll?
[01:46:05] Speaker A: This is a D20 plus D10, plus a D4 plus 9.
[01:46:09] Speaker D: I rolled a 4 and an 8 on my D4 and my D10.
[01:46:14] Speaker A: Okay, so we're already at 21.
[01:46:18] Speaker D: 32.
[01:46:19] Speaker A: 32.
[01:46:21] Speaker C: Go.
Hello.
[01:46:23] Speaker A: With a surge of confidence in his renewed awareness of his skills, Tello deftly makes not but four slick hand motions. And the heavy door clicks and slides.
[01:46:35] Speaker F: And it's heavy.
It's definitely unlocked.
[01:46:39] Speaker A: He pushes, having to put his weight into it in the door.
And as it opens, maybe another 10ft down, there's another door. This one's much thinner, much more innately carved, and there is no handle on.
[01:46:54] Speaker F: It, no lock mechanism.
[01:46:57] Speaker E: All right, guys, I think we should stand in front of that one and talk about what to do for 20.
[01:47:01] Speaker A: More minutes.
[01:47:04] Speaker E: Just to be safe.
[01:47:07] Speaker C: Rogue gets a vulgar gesture to the door.
[01:47:11] Speaker A: The. The mechanisms to craft and enchanted are clear. This one's clearly magically opened.
[01:47:19] Speaker C: Can I do an ar.
Can I. Can I can.
[01:47:28] Speaker A: Take a swing at that thing?
[01:47:30] Speaker C: Can I do an arcana check to see if. To know if I cast identify on the door, Would that tell me how to open it? Like, would I know that? I want to do a check to see if I would know if identify would work on the door. Does that make sense?
[01:47:55] Speaker A: No, I'm going to say that you would just know that Identify would probably reveal that to you.
[01:47:59] Speaker C: Oh.
[01:48:01] Speaker F: Give it to you.
[01:48:02] Speaker C: Okay.
[01:48:02] Speaker A: Off at land. And I like that hat.
[01:48:04] Speaker C: Guys, do you think if I touch the door, bad things will happen? Cuz I think I isn't Identify a touch, though.
Yeah, pretty. Pretty darn sure.
[01:48:16] Speaker D: Let me double check.
I got it, bro.
[01:48:19] Speaker A: I got it.
[01:48:22] Speaker D: Identify in Google a touch spell.
[01:48:26] Speaker C: Okay, well, should I risk it?
[01:48:31] Speaker D: You know what you say all the time?
[01:48:33] Speaker A: I'm not gonna mutter for the biscuit.
[01:48:34] Speaker C: Risk it for the biscuit.
You know what?
If someone wants to give me a little contest, maybe I'll do it.
[01:48:47] Speaker A: And you're guided. Okay, I don't know what you're guided because I haven't given you a check yet.
[01:48:51] Speaker C: I don't either.
[01:48:53] Speaker A: You reach out and cast identify in the door, and you expend the spell slot as you Strum and wonder and touch your hand to the door row.
You perceive that this door is magically enchanted.
An arcana check must be made to interpret the glyphs on the door and spellcast back to it in such a way that responds and makes it open, much as the way doors were locked in the temple. In the order of the old ones, you're identified. I also communicate that this spell is trapped magically. This door is trapped magically in such a way that failing could incur a.
[01:49:29] Speaker F: Consequence from the door.
[01:49:30] Speaker C: Wonderful.
Okay, I would like to do the arcana check then. Of the glyph.
Could she help also?
[01:49:40] Speaker E: I can just do this. And I pull out the chime and I say I could just open. Open it with this. To be honest, I have three uses left.
[01:49:47] Speaker A: Totally forgot about that.
[01:49:50] Speaker F: Completely.
[01:49:51] Speaker E: Should I. Should I try it?
[01:49:52] Speaker C: Well, that still trigger. Will that still trigger the. The.
[01:49:56] Speaker E: It just opens doors. But if you want to try your arcana thing first. I'll step back 10ft.
[01:50:01] Speaker C: Do you think it'll trigger the trap? Because it's not doing what it wants it to do.
[01:50:07] Speaker A: Party said. Wait. A thing to discuss. We got this. This.
[01:50:11] Speaker E: I don't think.
[01:50:13] Speaker B: Wait a minute.
[01:50:14] Speaker A: Wait.
[01:50:15] Speaker E: Hold on.
[01:50:15] Speaker A: Finally. Oh, my goodness. I was waiting for one of these.
[01:50:18] Speaker C: I've been waiting.
[01:50:18] Speaker D: We can talk about it.
I say boss's thing is working.
[01:50:28] Speaker C: I. I guess.
[01:50:29] Speaker E: Well, here's the thing we have. I have three uses of this thing left, and then it's gone permanently. And I have to save 1. 1. If we want to even. If we want to even pretend to do what the Baba Yaga asked us to do.
[01:50:40] Speaker D: So really, I. I feel fairly confident in my arcana abilities.
[01:50:48] Speaker C: 2.
[01:50:48] Speaker E: All right, Greta, I. I trust your arcana abilities. I'm going to trust it from 20ft. That way, though.
[01:50:56] Speaker A: And boss steps back 20ft.
[01:50:59] Speaker C: Who has the higher arcana?
Can I assist? Can we, like, both look at it. I have a plus 15.
[01:51:09] Speaker D: Oh, I do too.
[01:51:10] Speaker C: Okay, so we both do.
I have inspiration, too. Can I assist?
Can I assist? I can assist you.
What?
[01:51:21] Speaker D: I don't have inspiration.
[01:51:23] Speaker A: Oh, my goodness. And then one of you rolls.
[01:51:25] Speaker D: Okay.
[01:51:26] Speaker C: Are you sure?
[01:51:26] Speaker D: Abby, if you want to, I will, but I think you should, because I don't have inspiration.
[01:51:33] Speaker C: Are you sure? Okay.
[01:51:34] Speaker D: That's what I think.
[01:51:35] Speaker C: Okay. Okay, I'll do it.
[01:51:36] Speaker D: I'm sorry.
[01:51:37] Speaker C: No, I. Sorry. I want you to be able to do it if you want to do it.
[01:51:41] Speaker D: No, you do it.
[01:51:42] Speaker C: Okay.
[01:51:44] Speaker A: Oh, my goodness. Someone rolled the D20. Or tell's rolling it.
[01:51:48] Speaker C: Okay.
This is an arcana check.
Yes. And did I. Am I getting. Am I getting assistance or no?
Do I get assist? Like, if we're both looking at the.
[01:52:03] Speaker A: Well, technically, an arcana check teaches you information about the store. This should actually be a.
A check with your spellcaster modifier.
That's how we were doing it at the temple. So I need to see where. No, Your charisma modifier. D20. Your charisma modifier. And Greta is helping you, so you do get assistance, so you get to roll an advantage.
[01:52:21] Speaker C: Wait, so it's just a.
Oh, so it's not my arcana.
[01:52:26] Speaker A: Yeah, No, I mean, that would be to show you information about the door.
I mean, if you. If having known that information, if you want Greta to make it instead, I don't care.
But I would love if someone rolled a D20 and then told me the result of that.
[01:52:37] Speaker D: You got to check it. You got.
[01:52:40] Speaker C: Oh, gosh. Okay, well, now all that should I use my inspiration is my question of to myself, because it's just my charisma modifier. Right.
So, okay, choice.
I am going to.
[01:53:00] Speaker E: Runs up and makes the check. He runs up.
[01:53:02] Speaker C: I'm gonna use.
[01:53:03] Speaker A: At this point, I'm almost thinking he does.
[01:53:05] Speaker C: Okay, I was doing the math.
[01:53:09] Speaker A: Understood.
[01:53:10] Speaker C: I rolled twice. Okay.
[01:53:14] Speaker F: Okay.
[01:53:15] Speaker A: On this, the third roll, what's our total, Jackie?
[01:53:19] Speaker C: Well, the inspiration roll was a not one. So good. The total is.
[01:53:24] Speaker A: Keep your highest 16.
Okay.
With one above DC.
The. The door does not set up a fix level lightning bolt spell. And all of you in 100 foot line, do not get 10D6 lightning damage.
And instead, Lannan has pulled out a switch and is playing Smash Brothers, everyone.
The heavy metal door.
[01:53:53] Speaker E: Incredible.
Every single thing you said hisses inward.
[01:53:58] Speaker A: That's not a switch.
[01:54:00] Speaker E: I don't know anything, and I'm not playing Smash Bros. What is it called? Dead Island Riptide?
[01:54:06] Speaker D: No, it's a steam deck.
[01:54:08] Speaker E: It's a steam deck.
[01:54:13] Speaker A: As the door swings open, you all see a space that's roughly 20ft high, 50ft wide, carved stone with a stone stairwell going down into the front, leading into this recess chamber. It appears 80ft long, and it is a massive stone. Stone carved room.
In it, the entire central space is empty except for ornate, complex glyphic circles carved all over the floors in concentric patterns in the middle of the room. And they are carved into the floors and grooved. In the middle of the room is a circular pillar of stone with a bowl recessed into it with grooves that run off of the sides and match into the grooves in the floor and carved into the walls are massive structures of script that none of you all, I believe, can read.
And at the opposite end of the room is the imagery of a huge metal throne carved into the wall.
[01:55:25] Speaker D: That is such an egoist. Is there anyone in the room?
[01:55:28] Speaker A: It is a completely barren space.
I wouldn't let her read everything completely. Yes, that is true. If she uses that magic item, she would be able to read.
And there is no light in the space except for the light. You all are casting brilliantly.
[01:55:41] Speaker D: Okay, I.
Go ahead, Jackie.
[01:55:45] Speaker C: No, I was just gonna.
[01:55:47] Speaker A: As Greta puts on her glasses. Greta, you can read all over the walls. I don't believe the glasses identify the language you're reading, but they are all. You can check the details on the item if you want.
You can read. The walls are all incantation lines of some sort of spell for which you are not familiar. They are spell language in the form of epic poetry of dour and morbid topics.
Speech of throne, of power, of lords and iron.
[01:56:28] Speaker E: He's the Stone King. He's the guy. He's the one that. What's her face serves.
[01:56:36] Speaker D: Wait, what? Who?
[01:56:37] Speaker E: I don't know. Remember the poop bucket lady? His friends of the Stone Lord.
[01:56:42] Speaker D: He doesn't serve him. She was like, beware of him.
[01:56:45] Speaker C: Yeah, I don't think she's.
[01:56:46] Speaker E: I don't think there's a lot of stone here, though. Like the stone.
[01:56:50] Speaker C: I don't think she's involved with him.
[01:56:53] Speaker E: No, I'm saying I didn't think she.
[01:56:54] Speaker D: Was warning us about him.
Anyway. Anyway.
[01:56:58] Speaker C: I mean, Craig knew about the Stone Lord.
[01:57:00] Speaker E: She knew about this place. She told us about this place.
[01:57:03] Speaker D: He was warning us.
[01:57:05] Speaker A: True. You're right.
[01:57:07] Speaker E: You're right.
[01:57:08] Speaker A: The room is massive and dark.
[01:57:10] Speaker C: What?
[01:57:10] Speaker A: The endless carved surfaces catch and disperse shadows all around.
[01:57:15] Speaker C: You said there was a circle thing in the middle. What was the circle thing in the middle again?
[01:57:19] Speaker A: The immense floor is nothing but a series of concentric magical carved circles.
[01:57:26] Speaker C: It's not a teleportation circle.
[01:57:29] Speaker A: You want to make an investigation check?
[01:57:32] Speaker C: Yeah.
Would I know? Because I have teleportation circle.
[01:57:37] Speaker A: You can make a check if you want. Okay. You will not automatically know.
[01:57:40] Speaker C: Arcana.
[01:57:42] Speaker A: Arcana and investigation, if you'd like.
[01:57:47] Speaker C: That's gonna be Micah 28.
[01:57:50] Speaker A: Slowest blink in history.
28 arcana. And then hit me with that investigation.
[01:57:55] Speaker C: Oh, both. I'm sorry.
Oh, investigation is going to be an eight world bad.
[01:58:04] Speaker A: Okay.
It is hard to discern pattern from it when coming to investigation. We'll Come back to that in a second.
With a 28 road. No. This is absolutely. There's nothing conjurational about this.
There's something like.
But it is clearly magical.
It is a form of magic with which you just must not be particularly familiar. Which is pretty impressive because you're familiar with quite a bit at this point.
But it's a little unclear what it's for with 28. Eh. You run into a very few forms similar.
You run into a few similar forms of magic. But you're able to identify it as some sort of necromantic pattern.
It has structural similarities to the patterns carved all over the walls in Saul Gein's temple. But there's significant differences too.
And the chamber feels focal to a central point. It doesn't feel like something with an externalizing effect. It feels like something with essentially focusing power.
With your aid investigation check, you aren't able to make out a great deal ro. But there is a lot of dried blood in the grooves on the floor.
[01:59:25] Speaker C: Did you say there was something coming out of the floor?
[01:59:28] Speaker A: There's a central pedestal in the middle.
[01:59:29] Speaker C: Oh, a pedestal hole carved into the.
[01:59:31] Speaker A: Head of it with grooves leading out into the side that lead down to all the grooves carved in the room.
[01:59:36] Speaker C: Yeah. That checks out. Okay.
[01:59:38] Speaker A: Looks like a sacrificial chamber of some sort.
[01:59:41] Speaker C: Sick. Love that that.
[01:59:43] Speaker D: D In my experience with the hags, do I recognize anything similar or is it just like sacrifice?
[01:59:52] Speaker A: You are struck by this. This clearly looks sacrificial. You're struck by how much this is not reminiscent of the symbologies and orders. You know, this is a form of magic very foreign to you.
You don't recognize the languages on the wall. The. This is pretty alien.
[02:00:10] Speaker B: Oh my gosh.
[02:00:11] Speaker C: Aliens and yellowbrand.
[02:00:17] Speaker A: I I use that adjective and then thought to myself. Yeah, done that. I think Abby and Jackie are going to run with that. And then you all lost your minds.
[02:00:26] Speaker E: Boss is going this we're going to fight him here. Right guys? Like this is the place.
[02:00:35] Speaker A: That we're.
[02:00:36] Speaker E: Gonna fight him at.
[02:00:37] Speaker C: Maybe you mean in this particular room or in just his whole labyrinth of a dungeon?
No, I'm asking, do you mean this room or yeah.
[02:00:50] Speaker A: You are aware that the chamber is empty and you are the only ones in it.
[02:00:53] Speaker C: Yeah, I think I guess we should go back. There's no other doors in here.
[02:00:58] Speaker A: This is is if this is this chamber, it is immense. It is magnanimous and powerful. But that is all spooky.
[02:01:05] Speaker C: Okay.
I, I, well, these clearly.
[02:01:09] Speaker E: Let's go in Here, let's go down the hallway. I mean, it could be hiding.
[02:01:13] Speaker A: I don't know.
[02:01:14] Speaker E: So this is a boring room.
[02:01:15] Speaker B: I'm worried that, like, five nights at.
[02:01:17] Speaker A: Freddy's, okay, the party recedes. From this chamber down the hallways.
[02:01:24] Speaker E: We can do this.
[02:01:25] Speaker A: Like, we can do well. I promise I'm not gonna launch boss comp. Like, we're not doing a full boss combat tonight. I figured that fine, but we would definitely evolve on a cliffhanger. I would not do that to you all.
[02:01:38] Speaker C: Yeah, I figured that.
[02:01:39] Speaker A: Micah's.
[02:01:40] Speaker E: No, no, no, no. I'm saying we. We can get to the door of the. We can get to the dark side.
[02:01:46] Speaker A: They can conquer the doors. Gotcha. I mean, that is.
Yes, you all pass down the hallway. I mean, this is. This is an immense network. This is a very large dungeon system beneath. You guys pass back across the opposite door. And as you walk through the day, you can't help.
The feeling from that last room was eerie.
There was something oppressive about that room, something heavy. You had trouble escaping. The feeling of being watched in that space as you all step back out into the hallway. In this dark, horrible place, there's space, somehow, even relief from being out of that room.
And as you all continue down the hallway, you meet your way back to the spiral staircase everyone descends. You go down 30ft, and at the very bottom, as you all spill out, there is another heavy metal door.
[02:02:37] Speaker C: How far have we gone down a.
[02:02:40] Speaker E: These are harder to deal with in the bosses. Zachary giving us all these doors to freaking open. Who do you think you are, man?
[02:02:51] Speaker C: Can I do an arcana check to see if there's any glyphs on this door?
[02:02:55] Speaker E: Boss has find traps on the door.
[02:02:57] Speaker C: Okay, never mind.
[02:02:58] Speaker A: Okay, Find traps goes off. This door appears untrapped and.
Sorry, it's just the ones that aren't, aren't. I'm sorry. I. I promise I'm not making this up. I'm referencing notes.
[02:03:10] Speaker E: A guarantee of safety is worth it for me.
[02:03:12] Speaker C: Is there a door?
[02:03:14] Speaker A: Oh, my goodness.
Ro you check for the. The glyphs. It does not appear magically trapped. Boss, you try your hand? It's definitely locked.
[02:03:23] Speaker E: All right, dude, with this plus.
[02:03:28] Speaker C: Why.
[02:03:28] Speaker A: Doesn'T somebody roll a check? And then I'll assume he's guided with.
[02:03:32] Speaker E: With guidance.
[02:03:34] Speaker C: I'm out of baric inspiration, loves.
[02:03:36] Speaker E: Can he have DM inspiration? Can he get. Can he get.
[02:03:39] Speaker C: Can I give him my DM inspiration? Can I give him my per dm.
[02:03:43] Speaker D: Guys, I don't think he needs it. It's okay.
[02:03:45] Speaker A: Oh, my goodness.
[02:03:48] Speaker D: 24.
[02:03:51] Speaker A: I was like, now that I can read this sheet, he doesn't need anything.
Yeah, this is.
Rogues do. Let me tell you, rogues pick doors.
[02:04:03] Speaker E: They don't lose him.
[02:04:04] Speaker A: There is a.
There is. Jeez. There is a very grim determination in Tello's work now.
And set into his task. Sweat beating on his forehead. But he's entering into this weird, violent Zen.
You've never seen Tello this focused, this silent. His sassy comments have left. He is in the zone. A couple of quick motions, and even with a complex lock, he's predicting. He seems to be learning the patterns that we're following this place. And the door.
[02:04:34] Speaker F: Opens up.
[02:04:36] Speaker A: You all pass through the heavy metal door. A lot of iron in this place. And as you walk forward, this is a hallway that splits, but differently than the previous ones. This one goes forward and there's another large metal iron door up ahead, maybe 30ft. But then. Are you kidding me? That goes up next to the right. So there is a hall with the door at the end. Stand directly in front of you. And then stairway that goes up to a separate hall above with a high ceiling.
[02:05:03] Speaker C: Say that one more. Is there a staircase going down? And up hall. Okay, I'm so sorry.
[02:05:09] Speaker A: Stair go by door.
[02:05:10] Speaker C: Go up to different hall, but not going down to. Okay, okay.
[02:05:15] Speaker A: No, go down.
[02:05:15] Speaker C: Gotcha. No, go down.
I would like to see if the door.
[02:05:20] Speaker A: This place is intended to be punishing.
Good night, Micah.
[02:05:23] Speaker C: Good night, Micah. We love you so much.
You're a trooper.
[02:05:30] Speaker B: I'm so sad.
[02:05:33] Speaker A: As. Hey, as Landon said, I wouldn't even have to do. You all go to the metal door directly in front of you or do you go up the stairs?
[02:05:41] Speaker C: I look at the door and see if there's a lock mechanism. Like, I don't touch it, but I look to see if there's a lock mechanism.
[02:05:49] Speaker B: You.
[02:05:51] Speaker A: Sorry. There's a lot of doors. I mean, to check my notes.
[02:05:54] Speaker C: I don't know how you're keeping track with the doors.
[02:05:57] Speaker A: Yeah, sorry, Landon. I don't know. I don't know a lot of stuff. You know, more stuff than I do.
[02:06:01] Speaker C: Time to check.
[02:06:04] Speaker A: It does not look magically trapped. It does look locked. And the lock mechanism looks heavy and complex.
[02:06:11] Speaker D: Okay.
[02:06:13] Speaker A: And then there's the stairwell leading up to your right.
[02:06:19] Speaker E: I go knock on the door.
[02:06:22] Speaker C: We haven't tried that.
[02:06:28] Speaker A: You want to give me a perception check, boss?
Yes.
Somebody opens the door. Oh, you should have asked.
[02:06:37] Speaker C: Should have.
[02:06:38] Speaker A: Just not.
[02:06:39] Speaker E: Dude, that's actually a 20 mics way.
[02:06:43] Speaker C: I just had Jersey mics today.
[02:06:46] Speaker E: That's a 20 mics way.
[02:06:48] Speaker A: Okay, I'm gonna write down 20 now.
Boz, you hear behind the door a very soft and distant muffled screaming.
[02:06:58] Speaker C: Oh no.
[02:06:59] Speaker A: Different voices in response to your knocking.
[02:07:02] Speaker D: Oh, I think we should go in there.
[02:07:05] Speaker C: You do?
[02:07:06] Speaker A: Or don't you also have the stairwell up to the right.
[02:07:09] Speaker E: They're screaming like in pain or like in anger.
[02:07:14] Speaker A: Incredibly distant. Barely through the door you can detect the slight presence of a muffled screaming.
[02:07:24] Speaker C: Do we hear it?
No. Abby and.
[02:07:28] Speaker E: All right, Abby, go up the stairs. Stairs. I go up the stairs.
[02:07:32] Speaker C: Wait, shouldn't we save them?
[02:07:36] Speaker E: Yes, go do it.
[02:07:42] Speaker C: No, we're sticking together from now on.
You wanted to save the guards to.
[02:07:50] Speaker A: A higher ceiling, 20ft high and decorate.
[02:07:53] Speaker D: It on other door.
[02:07:55] Speaker A: Okay. And the party's at the door.
[02:07:57] Speaker D: Are we not gonna go in there, boss?
[02:08:02] Speaker F: That is.
[02:08:03] Speaker A: Wow. Do you see that thousand yard stare from Landon? That was empty. He entered the void.
[02:08:08] Speaker E: I do whatever.
[02:08:11] Speaker C: I think we go in. I mean I.
[02:08:19] Speaker E: Tello get this bad boy unlocked if you can give him a guidance.
[02:08:24] Speaker C: Hello. I emotionally guide you even though it's not magical on the back.
[02:08:29] Speaker A: Everyone shut up.
[02:08:31] Speaker F: All right.
[02:08:32] Speaker A: And he's like, like on edge and he pulls out pics and goes.
[02:08:37] Speaker F: Don'T mess me up. All right.
[02:08:39] Speaker A: And starts putting the pecs in the door. It's a what?
[02:08:42] Speaker D: An18.
[02:08:46] Speaker A: You. Wow, that's. Oh, that's beautiful.
Thank you for supporting the roleplay.
As he clicks and rolls with the tumblers, he gets stuck and pulls the pins out and he goes, you stressed me out.
I'm sorry to try again.
[02:09:08] Speaker D: That's okay, we'll come back to it.
And I give him a pat on the back and or a pad on shoulder or whatever.
[02:09:15] Speaker A: He squeezes your shoulder and goes, I'm sorry.
[02:09:17] Speaker D: No, it's okay. I know it's.
[02:09:19] Speaker A: As you all increase up the way, you look down this 30 foot long hallway with high 20 foot walls. Carved into the walls are reliefs of the city, the mountainscape of Kos and of Lore the nation.
Vag relief on one side and then on the other side of Trollocha. And at the end is a heavy iron door.
As you all approach it, this one gotta look through my notes with a quick investigation. It appears to be non magical, but it does look locked. Just tell her to take a swing at it.
[02:09:53] Speaker C: Do you want to knock again, boss?
[02:09:58] Speaker A: Boz knocks and there's the sound of pissing.
[02:10:01] Speaker E: It's the abyss calling.
[02:10:04] Speaker A: Oh no. You all found it.
[02:10:08] Speaker D: That's a dirty 20.
[02:10:10] Speaker A: We need a one shot.
This lock appears much simpler. Gives immediately, and the door swings open. He wanted us to open it. Walk down another section of the way, and there's three more doors. Another iron door. Yeah.
[02:10:23] Speaker C: Okay. What did you say, Zach? I couldn't hear you.
[02:10:26] Speaker A: Because you all approach the iron. This iron door, it clearly has. It has no handle and glyphic combos on it.
[02:10:36] Speaker C: Greta, you were. You were. Let me know what you thinking.
You want to take a swing or. Or me?
[02:10:47] Speaker D: I say you got it. You got it last time. I don't want to break.
[02:10:49] Speaker C: Barely.
What are you thinking, boss?
[02:10:57] Speaker E: I'm thinking it's gonna zip zap us if we get it wrong.
[02:11:02] Speaker C: Oh, yeah.
[02:11:02] Speaker A: I'll be right back. I'm listening.
[02:11:05] Speaker C: If you guys could. Could guide me. I mean, I don't know if it's the same, you know, juice power.
[02:11:13] Speaker E: Here's what I'm thinking.
[02:11:15] Speaker A: If.
[02:11:16] Speaker E: If it does end up zapping us, it would be better if it only zaps one person, right?
Okay, so if one person's doing it, the other two should go behind the door that we just came through and, like, stand behind it.
[02:11:31] Speaker C: Okay, I'll. I'll do it.
[02:11:35] Speaker E: All right.
[02:11:35] Speaker D: You sure?
[02:11:36] Speaker B: Ro.
[02:11:36] Speaker D: Are you sure?
[02:11:37] Speaker C: R.
Yeah.
[02:11:39] Speaker E: You don't have to open it. You just have to unlock it and then wait for us to get back to open it.
[02:11:43] Speaker C: Okay, just. If I go down, someone please revive me.
[02:11:46] Speaker E: Yeah, Let sirloin crotch know you don't.
[02:11:51] Speaker C: Have to send him any notice.
[02:11:54] Speaker E: He's pretty cool, actually.
[02:11:55] Speaker A: So everyone steps back, puts the door forward a little bit. The whole rest of the party hides behind it, their eyes peeking out like a Scooby Doo special. And Ro steps forward to the door. Rose, you attempt to decipher the patterns, and you begin playing with your loot to try and match it. You've been guided. Go ahead and give me your check. This is going to be the.
Is it roll plus your modif plus your cris modifier.
[02:12:18] Speaker C: Okay. Can I use my per diem because I haven't used it tonight. Or is it only in the first session?
[02:12:23] Speaker A: You can add it if you have not used. You can add it up.
What you get? Dude, natural one.
All right.
[02:12:44] Speaker C: I can't add anything to that. Correct.
[02:12:48] Speaker E: Nat one's in that one.
[02:12:50] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. I didn't think so. I just wanted to. I just wanted to make sure.
[02:12:54] Speaker A: Totally.
[02:12:57] Speaker D: I'm sorry, Jackie.
[02:12:59] Speaker C: It's okay. I mean, it could have happened anyway.
[02:13:01] Speaker E: What was a good character?
[02:13:02] Speaker D: I should have got off land.
[02:13:04] Speaker C: And you're Reviving me. If I go down, oh, my God.
[02:13:07] Speaker E: I use my diamond on Frederico.
[02:13:09] Speaker C: I have diamond on me. Take it off my body.
[02:13:12] Speaker A: I don't know.
[02:13:13] Speaker E: You never told me that. You should have told me that.
[02:13:15] Speaker C: You know that.
[02:13:17] Speaker A: And it's like, I didn't come here for much today, but I came here to make sure a character died.
[02:13:22] Speaker E: I'm trying to be authentic to the role play, Zachary.
[02:13:24] Speaker A: That's all.
[02:13:25] Speaker C: I can't believe I rolled it. Is that my third? Not one this session.
I think it is.
[02:13:30] Speaker A: It is your second, but Greta has also had one, and.
Yeah, bro.
As you begin playing through the pattern, you understand it well, but the tension and nerves catch you. And as sweat builds on one of your fingers, your fingers just slip on one of your chords.
[02:13:47] Speaker C: I like the flavor.
[02:13:48] Speaker A: As you miss one pattern, you watch as energy very quickly just moves to the center of the door. And where there's this circular pattern in the middle, there is a single beam that fires out to you with dark green energy.
I need you to make a dexterity saving throw.
[02:14:07] Speaker C: Okay.
Okay. That's a 21.
[02:14:19] Speaker A: Okay.
Row. Mm. A bolt of dark green black energy by you.
Is that how the trap works? Do you get. You also get the opportunity to succeed in saving throw?
Let me verify this real quickly. This is important.
[02:14:48] Speaker C: Ooh, dark green energy.
[02:14:53] Speaker A: Actually, since you. Since you saved the check and you're.
[02:14:55] Speaker F: Right in front of it, I think.
[02:14:57] Speaker A: Yeah, I think it comes straight for you, actually. Sorry about that.
I'll go ahead and write the 21 down for your average row. A dark green black beam flies out and strikes you.
You are struck by the disintegrate spell.
Could have rolled a lot higher.
Told you all I was gonna owe.
[02:15:24] Speaker F: You some apologies by the end of this.
[02:15:29] Speaker A: Five. Good news is I rolled pretty low.
Row you take 59 points of force damage as the beam flies into you, and as it strikes your chest, the energy is largely. It strikes right into the middle of you. And in this circumstance, it's very good because your magical armor greatly dissipates the energy. You get the feeling if it had struck one of your extremities, it could have disintegrated you or part of you instead of losing a limb.
We'll attribute that to your high decks.
The energy has dissipated across your armor, and you suffer. But even the rippling energy wraps around and strikes your body, and. And you suffer 59 points of force damage at this point.
[02:16:10] Speaker E: Runs out to her.
[02:16:12] Speaker A: The single trap on the door dissolves, and the door swings open.
[02:16:18] Speaker D: Yeah, Greta. Rushes forward.
[02:16:21] Speaker A: Okay, Ro. You fall to your knees, sputtering and coughing, racked. Your ears are blearing, squeaking with high noise. Your eyes are pulsing with white light. Your eyes having trouble seeing.
And your armor, your glamour armor is.
[02:16:37] Speaker F: Charred on the front.
[02:16:40] Speaker A: Burned.
The cast healing word on earth.
[02:16:49] Speaker E: You laugh, but wait till you hear how much it does.
[02:16:53] Speaker C: No, I'm. I'm laughing because I never thought that I would get hit by a disintegrate spell and survive somehow.
[02:17:01] Speaker A: That honestly could have gone a lot worse.
[02:17:04] Speaker C: I am. I am. I'm at 36 hits points, which is pretty crazy to be hit by disintegrate.
[02:17:10] Speaker D: So I'm going to cast.
Heal wounds.
Cure wounds.
[02:17:17] Speaker C: Heal wound.
[02:17:21] Speaker A: I made the. Since I asked you to. To make that dexterity save and then kind of rescinded that, but you already got that advantage. I attributed that to how you took the damage. I think if you hadn't made that, that might have been a limb.
[02:17:31] Speaker F: Okay.
[02:17:32] Speaker C: Thank you.
[02:17:34] Speaker A: Yeah.
So way to make the save.
[02:17:37] Speaker C: Cool.
[02:17:38] Speaker A: How much healing does Ro take?
[02:17:41] Speaker D: Do I roll it or does she roll it?
[02:17:43] Speaker A: You roll when you heal people with spells.
And there's no sass in this, but that does tell you how many times Abby has healed people in this campaign.
Abby's like, oh, shoot, our healer. I think I have to heal.
[02:17:58] Speaker E: I did 19 healing with a level one healing word.
[02:18:01] Speaker C: How. That's crazy.
[02:18:03] Speaker A: That's very impressive, Landon. I am officially zoinked.
[02:18:08] Speaker F: I've been zoinked.
[02:18:09] Speaker A: Bazingaed in honor of your earlier reference.
[02:18:19] Speaker D: Okay, I'm doing math. I'm sorry.
[02:18:21] Speaker A: Get your pr.
[02:18:27] Speaker E: At least we know.
[02:18:30] Speaker C: He told us he was the one.
[02:18:31] Speaker A: The door is open.
You said that. I don't. The door is partially swung open.
You all can see behind it now as Teller tepidly pushes it forward, swings in. There is another iron door.
[02:18:47] Speaker F: This one perfectly covered.
[02:18:50] Speaker C: I hate these doors, man.
[02:18:51] Speaker A: Whatever's in here.
[02:18:56] Speaker D: 25.7.
[02:18:59] Speaker A: Wow. You're up quite a bit, bro.
[02:19:01] Speaker C: Wow. Thank you, guys. I. Yeah, I'm. I'm up to 80 hit points, thanks to y'.
[02:19:06] Speaker A: All. That's really cool.
[02:19:08] Speaker C: Thank you, Ro. Kind of like 59.
Ro, kind of like wobbly, gets up and just says, yeah, if someone else wants to take the next door, I got this one.
[02:19:31] Speaker A: No, no, no.
[02:19:32] Speaker E: I'll do it. I'll do it. Because it's based off your spell casting modifier, right?
[02:19:36] Speaker D: Yeah, I got.
[02:19:37] Speaker E: I got a plus six to mine.
[02:19:39] Speaker D: Okay.
[02:19:41] Speaker E: I'll do the next one.
[02:19:43] Speaker D: I cast guidance on boss.
[02:19:45] Speaker E: I cast guidance on Greta, Everyone.
[02:19:48] Speaker A: Everyone goes and stands back behind the previous door.
[02:19:51] Speaker C: So it's also magical. It's not locked. Okay.
[02:19:54] Speaker A: It's clear.
[02:19:54] Speaker E: You have to touch the door to start the thing. Is that what it is?
[02:19:57] Speaker A: You do not. No. Okay, you cast out.
[02:20:00] Speaker E: So. All right, so you guys go to the.
I assume y' all go behind the door that just shot that just tried to zip zap Jackie.
[02:20:09] Speaker C: Right?
[02:20:09] Speaker E: Okay, y' all go hide behind that one, and I. I go sit. Since I am my own spell casting focus, I don't have anything to pluck or play. I just kind of sit there and glow green a little bit like plutonium gone bad.
[02:20:21] Speaker B: And.
[02:20:23] Speaker E: And I cast.
What do I cast at it. I just. I just.
[02:20:28] Speaker A: Well, you don't. You don't have to use a spell if you don't want. You're just making a check with your modifier.
[02:20:32] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah.
[02:20:33] Speaker E: That's just how I control flame. And I feel like I am like, like guiding flame across the glyphs of.
[02:20:39] Speaker A: The door as I try to open it. I love.
[02:20:40] Speaker E: I want to do it.
[02:20:41] Speaker A: Lando, everyone's camera's being weird for me tonight. Could you turn it on and off real fast and then tell me what you get on your roll?
[02:20:49] Speaker E: So it's just the D20, plus my spell casting modifier and plus your guidance.
I'm going to burn my inspiration.
I got a.
[02:21:08] Speaker A: Sorry.
[02:21:10] Speaker E: 25.
[02:21:12] Speaker C: Good.
I mean, hopefully you're right.
[02:21:15] Speaker A: Get to put a bunch of dice down.
[02:21:19] Speaker F: That's good.
[02:21:21] Speaker E: Does it disintegrate again?
[02:21:24] Speaker A: Nope. No.
[02:21:26] Speaker E: What was it?
[02:21:27] Speaker A: A lot of lightning?
I'm going to put 11D6 back up real fast.
And Boz, this incredibly intricately charmed door that the Count put a great deal of effort into. As it slides open, you find a vault, and behind it is stores of well organized stores of coin and gem.
They are largely vacated, clearly, with the awareness that you all might be coming down here this evening.
Some does remain.
Boz, if you would roll a D100 for me. Not all is removed, just much.
Boz, if you would roll a D100 for me.
Abby, if you would roll a D100. And Jackie, if you would roll a D 100.
[02:22:24] Speaker E: I got a 96, actually.
[02:22:26] Speaker A: Excuse me. Okay, boss, you got a 96.
Great roll.
Jackie, roll me two D100. And Abby, roll me three D100.
[02:22:36] Speaker D: Oh, my goodness.
That's a 53. I'll type it in.
[02:22:41] Speaker A: Okay. Please do, Landon or. Boss, there is. It is. This place has been heavily cleaned, but there is 96 platinum.
[02:22:49] Speaker F: You find.
[02:22:52] Speaker A: The vast majority of funds here were like. This is like a chest. Left at the side, you open. The vast majority of coins and gems were removed.
Abby, I'm gonna have to do this math. That's 80 plus 74 is 154.
You find 154 silver row. Guys. High rolls.
[02:23:11] Speaker C: I know. I've never rolled a 99 on a.
[02:23:13] Speaker A: D. 100 is 191 plus 66 is 257. You find 257 gold. So 96 platinum.
[02:23:22] Speaker D: Can you tell me how much?
[02:23:24] Speaker A: 154 silver.
[02:23:26] Speaker C: 200 and what?
[02:23:28] Speaker A: 99. 96 platinum.
So sorry. And I'm clearly gonna have to do this a couple times.
[02:23:34] Speaker F: 200.
[02:23:36] Speaker E: And I've written it down, guys. Don't worry. I've got it. It's in the chat of many things.
[02:23:40] Speaker A: I was losing the math.
[02:23:41] Speaker E: Chat of many things. At the very bottom.
[02:23:42] Speaker C: Wait, it's all written down.
[02:23:44] Speaker A: So related to numbers of money. And we've all written it down. Boz's was platinum. Yours was gold. Abby's with silver. We've written it down.
[02:23:53] Speaker C: And all three equaled the number.
[02:23:55] Speaker A: Yes.
[02:23:56] Speaker F: We're good.
[02:23:56] Speaker A: Okay. I was adding totals.
[02:23:58] Speaker E: Gucci gold.
[02:24:00] Speaker A: All the other gems, all other jewelries, all other treasures, all of our finances have been cleared. It looks like half the wealth of Trello was in here and is gone now.
O.
[02:24:16] Speaker E: You know what's funny is, what if this was a diversion? What if he didn't intend to fight us? What if he's just trying to stall us out so we can go do something like kill the Countess?
And so he's like. He's, like, booking it away. What if this whole place is about to explode?
[02:24:32] Speaker C: Well, that's not a good thought. Boss.
[02:24:35] Speaker A: There's a. There's a big red button at the back of the room, like the beginning.
[02:24:39] Speaker E: Of Metroid prime one.
Okay.
[02:24:41] Speaker A: It says. It says fungi's definitely press.
[02:24:44] Speaker D: I press.
[02:24:45] Speaker E: So that room is done.
I.
I say, fun.
And then I turn around and I say. And I hand the platinum pieces to Row. And I say, you know, you almost got disintegrated, so you can have them.
[02:25:00] Speaker C: No, it's fine. I. I got the gold. I put in my inventory. You're fine.
[02:25:05] Speaker E: Puts it back on the ground.
[02:25:06] Speaker A: I already paid myself.
[02:25:08] Speaker C: I.
I don't need cut. Yeah. I'm just glad I got my limbs.
[02:25:13] Speaker E: Boz takes it. He puts it back on the ground and starts to head out.
[02:25:16] Speaker D: I take. I.
[02:25:18] Speaker A: Okay. And the an are gone. And you guys have the money. You guys walk out of the room, walk down, back down the lengthy hallways passing by the doors that nearly killed you all. And as you all pass back down the stairs, you face now the heavy metal door with the screams to the other side.
[02:25:31] Speaker E: Okay, I scream back at it.
[02:25:34] Speaker C: And it was locked. It was locked.
[02:25:36] Speaker E: Yeah, you got to try again.
[02:25:39] Speaker D: Mind giving it another shot Tell.
[02:25:42] Speaker A: Just.
[02:25:43] Speaker F: Yeah, I've got the.
[02:25:44] Speaker D: I mean I got.
[02:25:46] Speaker F: Just went through worse.
Okay.
[02:25:56] Speaker D: Doing that.
[02:26:00] Speaker C: I mean I, I do have.
[02:26:07] Speaker F: You've just met the dc.
[02:26:10] Speaker A: As Tello clicks and rolls through the doors, they.
As you all push on the door you reveal a very different chamber.
You all have a short walk maybe 10ft before a stairwell stands before you.
It is.
[02:26:32] Speaker F: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25.
[02:26:35] Speaker A: 30, 35, 35 foot stairwell that leads down to a massive room. This room is about 80ft long, cubic. The walls here are 40ft high.
So like walkway stairs down 35ft. 40 foot wall, 40 foot wall, 80ft across. Massive space, huge.
And it is there are above you all, directly where you walk in are six circles, six glyphic circles carved in the ceiling. The pattern continues out in a carved grooved. It's abstract, but it continues across the ceiling of the space. On one wall are carved log large symbols, more in that language you don't recognize. Same as the other wall.
At the base of the room are three stone pedestals connected. Fused into the pedestals are heavy black iron chains that are buckled backward onto the arms of three people.
These people look in good health. They're fairly well driven, dressed. There's a middle aged woman, there is an older man and there is a young girl, she looks maybe 12.
Their wrists are bound at their hips, they're down on their knees. Their ankles and wrists are chained to these heavy black iron chains. It's a very short chain. There's not enough length for them to rise or stand even if they could get their feet under them.
And they are sort of equidistant across the floor.
They are sort of on the leftmost wall opposite to the right are three large.
[02:28:22] Speaker F: He did say you had guess.
[02:28:25] Speaker A: On the opposite wall are three large cylindrical structures. You can't tell what they are because they're covered by black tarps standing in the middle of the space and. And it's all that dark stone, same as everything else. There are braziers all along the wall here to light the space. It's pretty good visibility even if shadows are high are clinging to the high ceiling where some of the glyphic patterns disappear.
Standing in the middle of the room is a tall man in dark robes with long black hair, shocks of silver.
And the Count smiles up at you.
[02:29:01] Speaker F: All and says, oh, took a very long time for you all to come here.
[02:29:12] Speaker E: I know.
[02:29:15] Speaker A: You traveled such a long way.
[02:29:17] Speaker F: I apologize for your arduous journey.
I know dinner was boring, but dessert.
[02:29:28] Speaker A: It'S going to be sweet bits on the ground.
[02:29:34] Speaker F: There it is.
I really do apologize for the theatrics at dinner. I mean, I meant what I said, you know, good lies are filled with truth and good acting is just real feeling.
I meant what I said. I. I hate you all.
And before this night is no over, you will hurt so much.
But I did need to pull you down here, so I might have played things up at dinner. I do believe, Ro.
I do believe that you are stupid, just dumb.
[02:30:10] Speaker C: That was not Ro. That was me.
[02:30:12] Speaker A: Right?
[02:30:14] Speaker F: An empty vessel harboring something special, but of no real value itself.
Baals.
I think you're on the verge of meaning. Not quite there.
And Greta, I look forward to you visiting that dark, dark forest again.
Craig, I would insult you, but I.
[02:30:36] Speaker A: Would need to believe you.
[02:30:37] Speaker F: The intelligence to understand me.
And Tello, I'll have you one way or another.
In the end.
Welcome to dessert.
Will you all join me, or should I get started without you?
[02:30:58] Speaker E: I can get. I can go.
Where do we start?
[02:31:03] Speaker A: I don't have seats.
[02:31:05] Speaker F: But this is our little arena.
Please step down the stairwell if you don't want the confrontation. I understand.
Join me.
[02:31:15] Speaker C: Wait, you said step down the stairwell. I'm confused.
[02:31:19] Speaker A: Huge stairwell in front of you that leads down to the walls, but you guys are up at the top of them. The space descends down to where he's standing at the center of the room.
[02:31:27] Speaker C: Almost like a theater type.
[02:31:29] Speaker A: Yeah, exactly.
And the screaming has been going this entire time, muffled and desperate.
From the people who are gagged and bound in chains, the three individuals. The worst is from the little girl whose high pitched wail sounds ragged and.
[02:31:47] Speaker F: Sharp, as if her voice is failing against her bindings.
[02:31:50] Speaker A: The Count just looks in their direction and everyone gets real quiet and kind of still on their platforms.
[02:32:01] Speaker C: The three of them.
[02:32:02] Speaker A: Abby, you're muted. This is the way.
[02:32:07] Speaker C: They're not blindfolded, right?
[02:32:10] Speaker D: You recognize them?
[02:32:12] Speaker A: No. They look like three random Lorian citizens. And the Count smiles and says, I.
[02:32:16] Speaker F: Understand if you're doubtful of these, but I promise, these are real.
All three of these are real. Fine citizens of my nation.
People who will live or die by the choices you all make here tonight.
Because trust me, based on the decisions you all have made today.
People will die.
You will have blood on your hands before the end of tonight.
And I would love to see how your noble principles prevail. I'm sure they will.
You're very wonderful, very odd and very true.
And I'm so desperate. Ro, come closer.
Meet your guests.
And he just waits.
[02:33:11] Speaker C: The others step forward. Did y' all two step forward?
[02:33:13] Speaker E: I looked to Ro.
[02:33:16] Speaker C: Cause you said my name. I'm confused why I said just my name.
[02:33:20] Speaker A: You felt like he was referencing what you said earlier about his destination.
[02:33:24] Speaker C: Okay.
[02:33:31] Speaker D: I hold a hand out to Tello and whoever's to me.
[02:33:37] Speaker A: Tello takes your hand.
He can't take his left hand off of a knife, but he holds your hand with his right one. You can feel his hand tremble.
[02:33:46] Speaker F: He is shaking.
[02:33:47] Speaker A: He looks like he's ready to fight to the death or just collapse.
[02:33:50] Speaker F: One of the two.
[02:33:51] Speaker A: And as he looks at you, Greta, it's just a near manic expression.
[02:33:56] Speaker F: He just.
[02:33:59] Speaker A: But it's like he's waiting for your nod.
[02:34:01] Speaker D: Yeah, I give him a nod and I squeeze his hand.
[02:34:04] Speaker F: Okay.
And the two begin walking down the stairs.
[02:34:12] Speaker A: Does the rest of the joining. Would the party join them down the stairs?
[02:34:15] Speaker E: Yeah, yeah. Go down the stairs.
[02:34:18] Speaker A: All five fun guys from the bottom.
The Count smiles and says.
[02:34:25] Speaker F: Would I be able to. And I understand if you don't. Would I be able to ask one of you all to pull the tops off of the vats? I can do it, but I like the drama.
[02:34:40] Speaker E: The cylinder steps forward and pulls the tarps off.
[02:34:44] Speaker A: Pause as you grab the cloth.
Falls to the ground.
It is a massive 10 foot tall glass cylinder. That's a lot of glass at this point built into the ground. And it is full of clear, fresh water.
[02:35:00] Speaker F: Would you mind getting the other two balls?
I understand if you don't want to.
It'll have the same effect either way. But I enjoy the reveal.
[02:35:13] Speaker E: I go pull them off. I don't think I stop. I just start to go pull all of them off like I. I wouldn't have done just one.
[02:35:18] Speaker A: Okay, absolutely understood. There are three massive cylinders with clear water.
Boss, as you get close, you can see in the inside, carved into the middle of the cylinders is a little glyph, little magical glyph in the center where the water rests upon.
[02:35:33] Speaker F: And the Count says, can anyone guess what the trick here is?
I'll reveal, I promise.
[02:35:44] Speaker C: Can I do an arcana check?
[02:35:49] Speaker A: He's not asking you about the magic. He's asking what the gimmick.
[02:35:52] Speaker C: Oh, okay.
[02:35:53] Speaker F: What's the trap.
What's the plan?
[02:36:03] Speaker D: Reddit's got like a really spacey looking up and she's just kind of staring at him.
[02:36:08] Speaker C: Yeah, Ro can't stop looking at the little girl. I think. I think her eyes are just fixed there.
[02:36:14] Speaker F: Well, I'll give you all a hint.
It's you or it's them.
Regular water would be a big trap.
[02:36:30] Speaker A: And the.
The glyphs at the bottom of the cylinders flash with light.
[02:36:38] Speaker F: He says, after all, when is a lit of water, Fresh, clean water ever hurt anyone.
[02:36:44] Speaker A: And the.
The three chambers, the glass shatters on all of them, fall into the floor, and the water spills out all over the floor, but it only flows so far away from each pedestal before turning into these morphous, abstract, singular tubed structures with long liquid arms. As you look at three massive watermen, elementals churning on each of the pedestals.
[02:37:16] Speaker F: He says, but symbology comes in twos.
And what's water without a little fire?
[02:37:25] Speaker A: And those six circles at the top of the rise from where you all walk down the stairs light up with energy. And then hot lava falls out of them in tubes, gathers at the top of the stairwell and begins slowly pouring down the steps.
[02:37:46] Speaker F: And he says, you all are highly skilled individuals. You could defeat these enemies, you could evade those traps.
But can you get all these innocents out first?
I hope to see you all later.
Dessert will be lovely, but really the dessert's for me, maybe for a nightcap.
I hope we have more of these little get togethers in the future in his image, just.
[02:38:22] Speaker A: With another illusion with lava gathering at the top of the stairwell, pouring down the steps. I'll have much more detailed visuals for you all next time. I'll have yes, but I'll have much more detailed visual next time. All sorts of mechanics and three watermelon mentals raging and turning toward you, all set off their leash. And three people bound to the other side.
We will end episode 151 there.
And water Melo Mentals. Abby sent chat. It's kind of sounded like session 151 out of the pan. And we'll come back next time with session 152. Episode 152. I bet you can guess the title for that one.
[02:39:13] Speaker D: To the poop bucket.
[02:39:16] Speaker F: Face the poop.
[02:39:18] Speaker A: You all cleared?
[02:39:20] Speaker C: Oh my God.
[02:39:21] Speaker A: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 chambers. So you guys gain.
Well, you gain 0.02 levels for the adventure and 0.05 XP for each of those little chambers.
And we will come back next time.
[02:39:42] Speaker C: 0.05 or 0.5.
[02:39:45] Speaker A: 0.07 total? 0.07 total.
[02:39:48] Speaker C: Okay, so we're at 14.0776, y'. All.
[02:39:55] Speaker A: Oh, my.
[02:39:56] Speaker C: Oh, I'm terrified.
[02:39:59] Speaker A: Listeners.
Life is an incredible adventure, and you're a very important part of it. Sometimes the story is dark, but we see it through to the end.
Darkest before the dawn.
This is all made up. You know, it's a game. But, yeah, we'll see you next time. The nice thing is, what is a long wait for us will be just flipping to the next episode for you.
Come back.
[02:40:26] Speaker F: This is.
[02:40:28] Speaker A: Story'S not over.
[02:40:32] Speaker D: We love you.
Thanks for listening, and thanks for waiting for the next episode that means the world to us.
[02:40:41] Speaker A: Okay, well, with that, we'll see you next time. And Skibidi, Wap and dada.
[02:40:47] Speaker E: Skibidi, Wap and dada.
