[00:00:03] Speaker A: Hi. [00:00:03] Speaker B: Welcome back to Barely dnd. This is your sort of Dungeons and Dragons podcast. We're coming back to you live. Not live. It is recorded. And this is the Accidental Adventures. I'm officially your host because I'm the one holding the microphone on a pencil. Therefore, I. Like. I am the host. And did that come through, or did it just sound like terror in your ears? [00:00:32] Speaker C: Yes. [00:00:33] Speaker B: Okay, great. [00:00:35] Speaker D: Great. [00:00:36] Speaker B: So we are having a fun and dandy time. Abe and Mike are back in the same place. Yes. [00:00:46] Speaker A: Yes. [00:00:46] Speaker C: Abby. Micah moved the mic to Abby. Abby started to talk. Micah moved it away. Abby stopped talking. Micah moved it back. Abby started talking again. Micah moved it away. All in, like, half a second. It was like. All right, this is episode 161 of the Accidental Adventures. Before we. Before we get into it, our letter question. If Gillum, the guy from the last episode, was a permanent member, like a core member of your character's life, what role would he play, and what would that be like? And who's the DMing PC? [00:01:25] Speaker D: I know mine. My answer. [00:01:26] Speaker C: Okay. Who's the DMNPC? [00:01:32] Speaker D: The Count. No. 80s dead. I would like to know what the Count would think of him, though. [00:01:38] Speaker C: Abby, you. You don't have the pencil. [00:01:44] Speaker D: What? [00:01:45] Speaker E: What? [00:01:45] Speaker B: I vote poo bucket lady. [00:01:48] Speaker C: Bessa oud. [00:01:49] Speaker D: Yeah, Bessa oud is good. [00:01:51] Speaker C: Okay. [00:01:52] Speaker E: All right. [00:01:55] Speaker A: I got. [00:01:56] Speaker E: Okay. [00:01:56] Speaker C: All right, so let's start with Ro. She's got an answer. [00:01:59] Speaker D: He would just be, like, the creepy guy that, like, comes over at Thanksgiving, and he's like, I'm your uncle, but he's not really your uncle, but he's just creepy, and you just kind of nod and smile and. And don't sit by him. [00:02:20] Speaker C: Craig. [00:02:22] Speaker B: Zach, do you remember that real person in our lives who lived with our grandparents for a little while and actually turned out to not be a good person? [00:02:33] Speaker E: Yes. [00:02:34] Speaker B: That's who he reminds me of. [00:02:36] Speaker A: So good. [00:02:37] Speaker F: Whoa. [00:02:38] Speaker B: Dude, he reminds me of. [00:02:40] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:02:41] Speaker B: That's why I'm. I'm just, like, kind of creeped out because I'm, like, met the dude That's. [00:02:48] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:02:49] Speaker C: Wow. [00:02:49] Speaker G: I understand the question. Could you say it one more time? [00:02:53] Speaker C: Yeah. Gillum, guy from last session, who would he be to your character? Like, if he was a permanent fixture of their lives, who would he be? Yeah, killer answer, Mickle. Killer answer. [00:03:07] Speaker B: To give context without being personal life stuff. Basically, the description of this person is weirdly, like, dance close to you. [00:03:19] Speaker C: Like, had some experience with this guy. [00:03:20] Speaker E: I did not have. [00:03:23] Speaker B: Yeah, I stayed over there. [00:03:24] Speaker C: Like, all right. [00:03:26] Speaker B: Like, just kind of weird vibes and you kind of like, just close to you. No, it wasn't that. [00:03:33] Speaker C: Just his hands closer to you. [00:03:36] Speaker B: His presence is very, like, very. It's too close. Even though he's standing a normal distance. [00:03:44] Speaker C: I thought you said dance close to you. You were over there with me and Bobby and the guy was like, how you been, dude? [00:03:51] Speaker G: Good. [00:03:58] Speaker C: Being overpaid and providing no service to the property. Hey, hey. [00:04:02] Speaker B: I'm using them. Hey, hey. [00:04:05] Speaker C: Basically, heck yeah. Okay, Grabby. Okay, grab a licious. [00:04:13] Speaker E: Oh, man. [00:04:15] Speaker A: I. I think. I. I fear Greta would get along with this character. I also fear that Greta has been this character. And I want to use this time to say that I met a real life Dungeons and Dragons npc. There was a man who came into the bookstore and he, like stood outside the bookstore that I work at, like, reading the posters. And I kid you not, like, going like this. [00:04:54] Speaker E: What? [00:04:59] Speaker A: Just like, like making that like, noise. And I was like, oh, this man is going to come in. And I'm gonna have to like, ask my coworker. I'm gonna have to go get my tall man coworker to like, stand in here with me. And he came in and he made that noise. [00:05:17] Speaker C: This is a real thing that's happened to you, and I want to empathize, but this is. [00:05:23] Speaker A: Hey, welcome in. And he was like, yeah, just your neighborhood. Local. Neighborhood creep. And I. I said, I was like, I wouldn't lead with that. Like, I wouldn't introduce yourself that way. He picked up, he took like a couple magazines, tried to pay me for them. I was like, no, dude, those are free. Take the magazine. And then he left. And I just want, like. I was like. I was a little nervous because I was like, oh, no, we get up. I was like, oh, no, this man is like, not stable. Like, I'm gonna have to like, mentally unwell. [00:05:55] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:05:55] Speaker A: And then I was like, oh, no, it's. He's just it. Like, I've heard Zach play this guy. Like, you know, he was just like a weird old man maybe a little bit, but like, he was chill. [00:06:08] Speaker C: Was he? And I was actually making that noise. Just like. [00:06:13] Speaker A: Well, so he would just, he would go. [00:06:24] Speaker C: Like. [00:06:24] Speaker A: But like the, like the, like. Yeah, he reminded me of Blanis Clandon. Like, like, just like Blanis Clandon. And I was like, Zack's funky NPCs has made me better at interacting with the colorful personalities that I encounter in my retail job. [00:06:48] Speaker C: And Abby said, I know what to do here. And she got down on all fours and started making noises And Ned back, he said, where are your magazines? And she said, ever seen a hag? Your manager walks into the store and you're over there going, I'm casting. Inflict wounds. [00:07:11] Speaker B: Hon. [00:07:11] Speaker A: I got this. Yeah. So that's my answer. That's my answer. [00:07:16] Speaker C: Phenomenal. [00:07:18] Speaker A: And the lesson I want to share is, like, D&D NPCs are real people. [00:07:23] Speaker C: Yep. This is not a game. This is all real. [00:07:29] Speaker A: We've all met a Thaddeus. What was his name? Was that his name? [00:07:33] Speaker C: Thespis. [00:07:34] Speaker A: We've all met a Thespis Clandon. [00:07:40] Speaker B: I. I literally transported to Unsen. I went to a French bakery, and they were like. I felt like I was in a dnd French bakery tavern. Like, in Unsen. Like, they had, like, French accents. They were literally from France. And it was, like, quite an amazing experience. And I literally went to talk to strangers just because I wanted to feel like I was in dnd. Like, I started conversations with strangers to feel like I was in dnd. [00:08:04] Speaker A: Zach, you've, like, broken our brains in any way that we've. We've. We've played too young of an age. So now any. Anything that we experience, we're like, oh, just like, D. D. Oh, oh, I've done this in D and D. So. [00:08:17] Speaker C: Well, I got. I got in trouble students the other day and not supposed to do that. They were like, what are you doing there? And I kept going, stress. And they were like, just teach the lesson guy. What would bars do with Gillum? [00:08:34] Speaker G: Just the guy that you. That, like, you, like, realize that you've said, like, oh, wow, no way. So cool, like, 20 times in a row, and you're, like, waiting for them to, like, figure it, like, contributing zero to the conversation. Just, like, waiting for them to feel satisfied with what they. [00:08:51] Speaker A: I don't know. [00:08:52] Speaker D: He's an empath. I think he's contributing a lot. [00:08:54] Speaker E: Lando, you know. [00:09:00] Speaker C: Your three grad school female friends keep taking you to parties, but you don't want to be there. But you just go with them because you're trying to look after them, but then it's too much inside, so that you go stand on the patio, and then there's six frat dudes out there just absolutely hammered, and they. They proceed to spend the next two hours telling you about their stock choices. You're just like, wow. [00:09:16] Speaker E: Yeah, Cool. [00:09:17] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:09:18] Speaker G: The way you've never seen the Godfather type energy. [00:09:25] Speaker C: Specific experience. Had many times. Anywho, Bessa oud, I would say Gillum would be a murder victim. [00:09:35] Speaker E: I'd Say she would have killed him. [00:09:36] Speaker C: Probably with her poop knife. Unless. And this is a dark timeline. [00:09:45] Speaker E: I hate to say this. [00:09:46] Speaker C: They might also get along kind of the way Lover. [00:09:51] Speaker E: No. [00:09:51] Speaker C: Kind of the way. [00:09:52] Speaker D: Murder victims to lovers. [00:09:53] Speaker C: And Gillum. [00:09:54] Speaker D: That's a new trope. [00:09:56] Speaker C: Well, that's. Let's not think about that too much. But in the same way that Greta might get along with Gillum, I think Bessa Oud might, like, he's like, oh, you pooping that? And she's just like, you know, like, yeah, I think it could work, actually. I think they could be buddies in. [00:10:16] Speaker E: A dark, dark way. [00:10:18] Speaker C: All right, this has been weird. And let me tell you, it's probably gonna get weirder this episode 161, since it might be serious. Episode 161 of the Accidental Adventures. For my note taking nerds, Manable Matters or Manibus Matters. [00:10:33] Speaker D: What? Which one? [00:10:34] Speaker C: Manibus Matters. [00:10:35] Speaker D: Oh, when you said Manable, I thought adjective. When you said Manable, my brain went to Cannibal, and I was like, oh, it is going to get dark. [00:10:44] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:10:44] Speaker C: That's why I thought this would immediately devolve into misconceptions. So I decided to just make it now instead of the adjective. All right, so Manabus Matters. It's a level 14 adventure. The dates. [00:10:56] Speaker E: Three, four, eight. PB. [00:10:58] Speaker C: Let's call it the sixth. Let's make it the next day. [00:11:01] Speaker D: Oh, man. [00:11:02] Speaker E: Six. [00:11:05] Speaker C: You guys did a lot. [00:11:08] Speaker E: Okay. [00:11:10] Speaker C: Tis another day in the telethian winter. What's that party? [00:11:14] Speaker G: Do. [00:11:18] Speaker A: You know what? [00:11:18] Speaker C: Before we get cracking, let me ask this question. [00:11:21] Speaker D: Okay. [00:11:23] Speaker C: Before we get cracking, let me ask this question. [00:11:25] Speaker B: Yes. [00:11:26] Speaker C: Rowan, Craig, I know that your exercise was a tradition with Bill Free and Plough, and there was probably a period of grieving, and, I mean, it's not long ago since their terrible death. Have you all resumed those morning workouts, or has that tradition passed with them? [00:11:56] Speaker B: I think for Craig, it's not as consistent as it was. He still does it, but I think there's less motivation to do it because what was a bonding experience? Oh, we're about to lose them. [00:12:19] Speaker C: What? [00:12:20] Speaker D: They're about to lose us. [00:12:23] Speaker C: Oh, Micah can feel it. [00:12:25] Speaker E: Okay. An old person. [00:12:28] Speaker B: You are frozen. [00:12:32] Speaker A: Time. [00:12:32] Speaker E: We're good. [00:12:33] Speaker D: Yeah, we can hear you. [00:12:35] Speaker B: Okay. So I think what was, like, a really motivating bonding experience now is not there anymore as much. But I think that, like, he still does it. It's just some days the, like, weight of knowing that he's not going to have them do it with, like, that, like, weight kind of Eats him up, and he just stays in bed. [00:12:59] Speaker D: I think Ro would make it a point because she kind of knew this, that it was kind of their thing, and I kind of joined Den. I think she would make a point that anytime Craig does it, she for sure does it with him so that he's not alone. Like, she does it to be, like, supportive, and she wants. But I think if he's not doing it, she almost. Like, in a weird way, she almost feels like it's disrespectful to do it without Craig or them. Like, she does it in support of Craig. [00:13:38] Speaker A: Okay. All right. [00:13:43] Speaker D: What's wrong? You guys are looking off to the side of the screen, very scared. [00:13:47] Speaker B: Like, he landed. What was that? That friend that. Oh, my gosh. What was that friend that you had in the light? [00:13:56] Speaker C: Abby's pissing Benson. [00:13:59] Speaker A: Remember? [00:13:59] Speaker B: Do you remember Benson Landon? [00:14:01] Speaker D: Benson Boone. You were friends with Benson Boone? Landon. [00:14:05] Speaker B: Do you remember Benson in the light. [00:14:07] Speaker G: At your first cockroach that lived in our ceiling light at the apartment. [00:14:11] Speaker D: Oh, no. [00:14:11] Speaker G: Yeah, he has the water bug. It was a water. It was a garland water bug. Zach knows what that is. [00:14:17] Speaker D: Why is it a garland? [00:14:18] Speaker C: Really big roaches there. [00:14:19] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:14:19] Speaker G: Yeah, a really big roach that people called them water bugs because they wanted to not feel as scared about them. That's what I think. But these would be the biggest, most nastiest roaches you have ever seen your entire life. Ceiling light. [00:14:35] Speaker F: Did you whap, whap them? [00:14:36] Speaker A: It was big. [00:14:36] Speaker G: It was thickums. [00:14:38] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:14:39] Speaker C: Get it, Abby. [00:14:39] Speaker B: That was really gross. [00:14:41] Speaker D: Abby's officially an adult. She had to kill her. [00:14:43] Speaker G: Good job. Welcome to apartment. [00:14:46] Speaker C: Now you're an apartment. [00:14:48] Speaker G: Yep. That's part of having an apartment. Wait till you see their antennas sticking out of the plugs, because then you'll know that you got it. [00:14:55] Speaker D: Oh, stop it. I miss living in an apartment because in my apartment, there were no bugs. [00:15:00] Speaker B: Okay, really? [00:15:01] Speaker C: That's rag. [00:15:02] Speaker G: That's what it was like in ours. That's how we knew we needed more. [00:15:06] Speaker B: Maintenance office is if there were antennas sticking out of your light switches or, like, light. [00:15:13] Speaker A: I will. [00:15:13] Speaker C: I will refrain from telling you my roach stories because roaches were my roommates. [00:15:18] Speaker E: When I lived in Garland because our house is bad. [00:15:20] Speaker D: I'm feeling sick. [00:15:22] Speaker C: My roach stories. But anyhow, I'm sweating. [00:15:28] Speaker D: So. [00:15:31] Speaker C: Rowan and Craig work out with some frequency or. [00:15:39] Speaker D: Yeah, like, Craig, you. You make the call, and I'll. I'll do like I said. Ro just, like, gets. She. When she sees Craig is up, she's like, okay, time to Go. [00:15:50] Speaker B: No, be there, out of bed. He gives you the option, like, he goes up to you, goes, hey, I'm gonna work out. Do you want to work out? [00:16:03] Speaker D: Yeah, I guess. And she always says, yes, if you want to do that. Yeah. Because I feel like Ro is kind of. She's like. She's a good early riser. She's not like me. [00:16:13] Speaker C: Call this a. Let's just call this a 3D4 thing then, because this has been very vague. Ro, why don't you roll 3D4 for me? [00:16:23] Speaker D: What is my 4? [00:16:26] Speaker C: Was my workout list for you? Days or hours? [00:16:29] Speaker D: I don't know. I think it was days. Because it's out of 322, I think. [00:16:36] Speaker C: Okay. [00:16:36] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:16:36] Speaker G: Yeah. [00:16:37] Speaker D: You think that's days or hours? [00:16:38] Speaker C: Yeah, no, 322 days in a. [00:16:40] Speaker E: In a yellow. [00:16:41] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:16:42] Speaker D: 3D4. [00:16:47] Speaker E: You hold so little dice this session. [00:16:50] Speaker D: That is nine. [00:16:53] Speaker C: You have nine more days. [00:16:55] Speaker E: You have worked out. [00:16:58] Speaker C: All right, anywho, back to Yalls business. What are you doing this day? The sixth? Your second day here in Parseage or. No, third. [00:17:08] Speaker E: Your third day here in Parsage. [00:17:15] Speaker A: Okay, good. [00:17:16] Speaker G: Good. [00:17:17] Speaker D: I want to. I want to show Big Uber and. And Nom. If I invite Nom, I don't. I don't know if she'll go, but I invite Nom around Parage and want to show them around. [00:17:30] Speaker E: Yeah. Okay. [00:17:30] Speaker C: So we wake up in the morning and. It's a weird morning. It's a weird morning because you all have spent the last more than a year together on a ship, and now you are not. [00:17:50] Speaker E: Gotcha, Landa. [00:17:52] Speaker C: And is it a jump in now thing or a later thing? Lando. [00:17:58] Speaker E: Okay, you're typing it up. Oh, I'm gonna sneeze. [00:18:03] Speaker C: Myself for that. I felt that a little bit of my brain came out understood, so. [00:18:09] Speaker F: Well, not really, Abby. My brain's up in my skull, guy. [00:18:14] Speaker C: So. [00:18:18] Speaker E: Oh. [00:18:19] Speaker C: Episode 2 Energy so it's a surreal experience because you all are suddenly now here in a home together, which is strange. [00:18:27] Speaker F: We are. [00:18:28] Speaker C: And you all are also returning to a place you once were, only briefly, a very long time ago, for which you feel nostalgia, but then is also at a very different time of year. And then also you guys are coming to be in this home together, which is kind of a sweet thing. But then you are there without two members of your family, which is hard. And you're also there on the tail end of coming down off of one of the worst experiences of, if not. [00:18:59] Speaker E: The worst experience of many of your lives. [00:19:01] Speaker C: But then also in this kind place. So it's just a real cacophony of emotions, just good and bad and complicated and melancholy all wrapped together. But Spicuber's, he's had a. It's subtle, but he's had a marked change in demeanor since arriving. He has been very understandably somber, as he. As you all have experienced in the last couple weeks following Bill Free and. [00:19:24] Speaker E: Plough's death, because it was awful. [00:19:27] Speaker C: But he is. It's a calmer levity than his usual kind. Less of his saccharine enthusiasm. [00:19:35] Speaker E: But he. [00:19:35] Speaker C: But there is a levity returning to him. And it's like. It's like a. Like a calm. And on the one hand, while he is suddenly a captain without a ship and without a crew, the loss of that negative experience. He's kind of like pivoting in a different direction. And he gets up pretty early on the 6th, and he's like home making. And like, you guys wake up and he's already up and he's making you breakfast. And there's access to more food options than there were previously. And Nam is surprisingly present when you offer for her to go into town Row, she does not join. [00:20:11] Speaker E: She goes, no, I'm fine. [00:20:12] Speaker F: Thanks, Ro. [00:20:13] Speaker E: I'm good. [00:20:14] Speaker C: I'm just gonna be here. [00:20:14] Speaker A: Okay. [00:20:16] Speaker F: Thanks for bringing me. I appreciate it. And we talked about it a while back. [00:20:20] Speaker E: Thanks. [00:20:21] Speaker C: But she's not just spending all day hiding in her bunk the way she. [00:20:26] Speaker E: Had for weeks now. [00:20:28] Speaker C: And she is kind of like a cat slowly exploring the place and like moving around the home and looking at things. And she even like looks out the window some. [00:20:37] Speaker D: I tell her about that there's a place under the oven that we should show her later. [00:20:44] Speaker F: I'm sorry, you said under an oven? [00:20:47] Speaker D: Under the stove. There's like a whole cavernous area and there's a pond with some really cool fish. I think you'll like it down there. [00:20:58] Speaker C: We've been together for a while now. [00:20:59] Speaker F: So I just accept at this point. [00:21:00] Speaker C: But you guys are weird. [00:21:01] Speaker F: Is like who you guys are, you know, like Al. [00:21:04] Speaker D: Also, we. [00:21:05] Speaker E: A house. [00:21:06] Speaker D: We talked to a man about getting you some wheat so that, you know, like. [00:21:12] Speaker A: Can I jump in here? [00:21:13] Speaker F: Like bread? [00:21:13] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:21:14] Speaker C: Yeah. It's early morning. [00:21:15] Speaker A: We have a. We have a. Sorry. We have a. Someone's making you a. A bread oven. It's not done yet, but it'll be done soon. That's why we. That's why we're getting the loot. I think she's either. She might put it out on the back Porch or. Or in here? I'm not. I'm not sure yet. It kind of depends on where you want it, but she should be done soon. [00:21:50] Speaker D: Okay. [00:21:51] Speaker A: Damn. Do you know when she'd be. Do you know? I forgot. [00:21:55] Speaker C: You all have not checked in on it. [00:21:56] Speaker E: You've not checked in on it. [00:21:58] Speaker A: Okay, well, then I say I'll go check in on it today. But what else? I know. Wheat. Do you need. What else do you need to make bread? Or I guess I can ask someone else, but I guess I would want to know what you specifically like to make bread with. [00:22:16] Speaker F: I'll write up a list of ingredients. [00:22:19] Speaker A: Okay, thanks. Yeah. And think about where you want it when it's done. [00:22:25] Speaker D: Didn't she say that it needed to be. This is me, player. Didn't she say that it needed to be outside? [00:22:31] Speaker F: She did. [00:22:31] Speaker D: I feel like she told us it had to be outside. [00:22:33] Speaker C: It's large and fire burning. [00:22:35] Speaker A: Well, then we'll just. It'll have to be outside. But just think about where you might. Where you might want it to be outside. [00:22:44] Speaker F: Okay. Maybe behind the home, facing away from the town. [00:22:48] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. Well, and it could be as close, maybe not too close to the house. [00:22:52] Speaker F: Are you guys staying here or are you going? [00:22:58] Speaker A: I. I mean, we have to go away at least a little bit more, but after everything settles down, I think I might. I don't know about other people. I. I don't want to speak about it. [00:23:12] Speaker F: I don't have to. I don't have to pressure you. [00:23:14] Speaker E: I. [00:23:15] Speaker F: Thanks. [00:23:15] Speaker E: It's. [00:23:18] Speaker F: I appreciate it. [00:23:19] Speaker E: I'm going to go help Spaghetta with the dishes. [00:23:21] Speaker A: Okay. [00:23:21] Speaker C: If you guys are going to bring. [00:23:22] Speaker F: Anybody over, could you let me know ahead of time? [00:23:25] Speaker A: Yeah, of course, of course. [00:23:28] Speaker E: Okay. [00:23:28] Speaker B: I have a question. Dm. [00:23:32] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:23:32] Speaker A: So. [00:23:35] Speaker B: You say that she's like a cat. And I know cats often bond to, like one person. [00:23:41] Speaker C: She is a person. [00:23:43] Speaker E: I'm just using it metaphorical comparison in the circumstances, but please continue. [00:23:48] Speaker B: I. I was reading. Meaning, like, do you think that she's bonded a lot more to Shagober than us because of the loss and they had to grieve together on the ship? [00:23:58] Speaker E: You can give me an insight check, Craig. [00:24:00] Speaker B: That's what I'm. Yeah, kind of inside. [00:24:02] Speaker A: Okay. [00:24:07] Speaker E: Gotta get you all some physical dice. [00:24:10] Speaker B: I promise when I finish unpacking, I'll have it. So that's. [00:24:25] Speaker A: One. [00:24:26] Speaker B: So that is 14 barbarian. [00:24:29] Speaker E: No more. [00:24:30] Speaker C: He's a palidane. [00:24:31] Speaker F: Now. [00:24:34] Speaker C: The DC is a little lower because. [00:24:36] Speaker E: Well, the DC is what it is. [00:24:38] Speaker C: What I mean to Say is that you know NOM fairly well. Now, how well do you know NOM. [00:24:44] Speaker E: Is its own question. [00:24:45] Speaker C: But you spent a lot of time with this person. And Craig, you do perceive that not only have they gone through, first of all, you put together that you were able to tell in your time on the poor bed when you. Of which you spent a lot that. And you know what? Actually, hold on, let me wind it back even a little more. Something worth pointing out is that even though you all have spent so very much time away from the ship, and you have spent more time away than there, you still spent collectively more than seven months on the ship together. So you spent a great deal of time with your crew and its members. And in that time you saw that the people Nam was most comfortable with were Bilfri and Plaf. That at a very basic level, I mean, you know, they all, as Goblin Noids understood something, that they had similar experiences, especially as Goblinkin in Yaladbrun, that there's an experience there that they understood that others didn't and that NAM felt more immediately close to them than anyone else. And that then on top of that, they were more similar people for complicated interconnected reasons, both connecting to their backgrounds, but then also just as individuals that like, they were all more reticent and they were all, you know, people of fewer words and all that. And that if you recall, there was truly no one NOM liked less than Spaghuber in the beginning, but a very, very long time ago, you know, almost two years ago now. But. You also have noticed that that has clearly shifted. And part of that, you realize, is probably just Gooper's slow ability to just. [00:26:29] Speaker E: Kind of. [00:26:31] Speaker C: Like, I don't know, get. [00:26:33] Speaker E: His roots in people. [00:26:34] Speaker C: I don't know. I don't know a better way to like, just to grow on them, you know. But then also you do imagine that there's a lot of isolated time together and friendship or Stockholm syndrome. I mean, they have made a connection one way or another. And you do imagine that with all that afterward, that the loss of the. [00:26:53] Speaker E: Accals, he is probably. [00:26:57] Speaker C: I mean, you think of the life. [00:26:58] Speaker E: NOM has told you about and it. [00:27:00] Speaker C: Has been mostly loss and separation and this is probably the most proximate, the safest proximity person to be around for now. It occurs to you though, the depth of those specific experiences because Craig's been through some crap now, especially in the last year. You guys have gone through an insane life in the last almost two years. [00:27:21] Speaker E: However. [00:27:26] Speaker C: In a more long term sense, there are probably some Experiences Craig can't identify with there, but he's able to. [00:27:31] Speaker E: Make those basic observations. [00:27:34] Speaker B: Yeah. Good to know. [00:27:38] Speaker C: As a small additional note, before we go to Landon's thing, or to Boaz thing, rather, Greta, as you are going about your business in the morning, you do check the back door and find that the cup of water you put out is, you know, ice. Cause cold. So you just have a cup of ice on the back patio. The bowl is empty, and bundled up on the half frozen blankets is a very fat old raccoon who is also covered in chicken feathers and has a. [00:28:12] Speaker A: Little bit of blood. [00:28:12] Speaker D: Oh, no. [00:28:14] Speaker C: Because you have released a wild predator. [00:28:16] Speaker E: Into this small community. [00:28:19] Speaker C: So someone around here probably has some dead chickens or a lack of chickens. But your raccoon has returned and looks very cold and bundled up on himself. [00:28:32] Speaker E: In his fur in the cold. [00:28:34] Speaker G: As someone who has a flock of chickens with raccoons that chase after them, they run away after they get one, if they can get one, then they like, all right, peace out. One chicken and they're out of there. And sometimes all they have to do is get their paws in there and they grab the chickens and just like through a grate and then they can dig under and grab. [00:28:55] Speaker C: Raccoons are grabby. Grabbing is. [00:28:57] Speaker G: They're very grabby. [00:28:59] Speaker C: That is. That is the defining characteristic of a raccoon. [00:29:01] Speaker G: Deceptively peaceful. Until that happens. [00:29:05] Speaker C: Yes. [00:29:07] Speaker A: Wow. Goes in. What are we having for breakfast? [00:29:16] Speaker G: Chicken. [00:29:20] Speaker C: Inspiration, Landon. No, you guys are having, like, some food. There are some telethian tubers, very, very similar to potatoes and a little bit of sausage and there's some seasoning with it and some bread, some home bread. Like you guys having a meal at breakfast this morning? [00:29:37] Speaker A: Take a little bit of the sausage and I put it in the bowl. I put. Yeah, I put it in the bowl. [00:29:42] Speaker C: He like, whips up his head, tears the sausage apart, and then turns up. [00:29:46] Speaker E: And looks at you. [00:29:55] Speaker A: I open the door to see if he wants to come inside. Actually, I don't. [00:29:58] Speaker G: I don't. [00:29:59] Speaker A: Okay, okay. I yell. I yell, he's in. I go. [00:30:07] Speaker C: What is that from inside? [00:30:10] Speaker A: Wait. Nom knows the raccoon well. [00:30:12] Speaker C: And then a second later, Nom goes, ow. [00:30:14] Speaker F: I was kind of hoping we left that on the boat. Thanks, Greta and. Oh, you're welcome back, my angry friend. Now keep up. Now away from the pa. No, that is paper food. [00:30:28] Speaker C: Now keeps feeding him and he's in. [00:30:33] Speaker A: Greta goes for a walk. [00:30:35] Speaker C: Okay. [00:30:38] Speaker D: Does go with me to town before. [00:30:43] Speaker G: Before Ro leaves, I ask if I can borrow the Stone of past paths from her. [00:30:48] Speaker D: Oh, yeah. Here we go. [00:30:51] Speaker G: Cool, cool, cool. Thank you. [00:30:53] Speaker D: No, you can't. I'm just kidding. [00:30:56] Speaker C: He. [00:30:57] Speaker G: I'm gonna go back to the fight where Dolgoth is, and I'm going to look for the guy that really spin off yelling fear the fungi. I'm just gonna, like, follow that path for a while. [00:31:07] Speaker C: Oh, okay. [00:31:09] Speaker D: I love that. [00:31:11] Speaker C: So Boz strolls into town. Boss, are we fully armored? Are we just in day clothes, which are. [00:31:19] Speaker G: No, I'm armored. I'm in my thing. I mean, he wears leather armor, so he's like. [00:31:22] Speaker E: Sure. [00:31:23] Speaker G: Not like, he's not full plate or anything. Like a madman. [00:31:26] Speaker E: For sure. For sure. [00:31:27] Speaker C: So you're moving around in your armor and, you know, still some coats and stuff to stay warm and all that. I also want to see if I. [00:31:34] Speaker G: Can spot where the dead chicken came from. [00:31:35] Speaker E: If. [00:31:36] Speaker G: While I'm walking around town. That's like a B plot, not like Primary. [00:31:38] Speaker C: Okay, give me. Give me an investigation check passively throw one in there. [00:31:45] Speaker G: I'm going to burn my inspiration. [00:31:48] Speaker A: Okay. [00:31:52] Speaker G: Zach, a 5 and then a Nat one. [00:31:56] Speaker D: Do you have a per deal? [00:31:58] Speaker G: I do have a NAT one. I do have a per diem. [00:32:00] Speaker C: What's my per diem? D4. Jackie and Landon. [00:32:04] Speaker G: Five plus six is 11 plus D4. Okay, you got a two. [00:32:09] Speaker C: That's 13. [00:32:11] Speaker F: Okay. [00:32:11] Speaker C: Plus guidance. [00:32:12] Speaker G: Plus guidance will tell me the results. [00:32:14] Speaker C: 14. Really turned on that one, boss. You try to do some nonchalant snooping as you stroll through the town, but you do. Here's the thing, you don't find any clear path, but you do find some feathers near a home. And you can't see where they go from there. [00:32:32] Speaker E: Be like. [00:32:35] Speaker G: All right, put a pin in that. [00:32:36] Speaker C: It was definitely killed somewhere and then drug around and then eaten somewhere. And then the raccoon moved from there. But you. You attract some attention. [00:32:48] Speaker E: Boz. [00:32:48] Speaker C: You make it like 15 or. Yeah, you make it like a couple hundred feet into town, and people start being like, oh, hello, Mr. Boss. Welcome back. How have you been? And, you know, like, you watch as, like, six different town members, like, start to get excited, try to calm themselves, and then can't help it, and then, oh, you're back. How have you been? Are you all staying long this time? And, you know, you. You have a number of people try to approach you. What's working in your favor is that the town is just not as busy as it is sometimes. I mean, it's fairly. So many people are, like, alone, huddled. [00:33:26] Speaker E: Up in their homes in the cold. [00:33:28] Speaker C: Any particular thing to try to get these people away from you or are you just like, ah, they're there, I'm gonna let them be around. [00:33:34] Speaker G: I just, they're, they're fine if they're around, but I am moving with purpose, looking at something. So it's like they're, they're, they are definitely approaching somebody who is politely responding but also a little bit closed off. [00:33:48] Speaker C: And though looking a little disappointed, some people take the hint and then just. [00:33:52] Speaker E: Keep staring at you. [00:33:53] Speaker C: Wherever you go, one guy keeps walking. [00:33:55] Speaker E: With you and goes, are you looking for something? What is it? Oh, what's at your hip? [00:34:03] Speaker C: And you know, you're just like. But you know, you keep walking and it's a little annoying, but he's there. As you, you clearly remember, remember the part in town where there was the fight and you hold up the side of pass paths and you, as you hold up the stone, you think of the steps and you see them moving north easterly out of town and following the main road up. [00:34:25] Speaker G: Yeah, I follow them for a little bit. [00:34:28] Speaker C: Okay. You wind up walking all the way through town, which doesn't, it's not a very big village. I mean it's a very small town. It's a couple hundred buildings max if it doesn't even really get to 200. So, you know, five minutes later you're on the other side of town and you can see that they, they followed. [00:34:45] Speaker E: That, that road northward. [00:34:47] Speaker G: Yeah, I'd probably walk a mile. [00:34:50] Speaker C: Okay. And you do, you do travel up the trail and that guy's with you a good thousand feet out of town and eventually he kind of breaks off and goes tomorrow then and like walks back into town. But you're on your way for a little bit. [00:35:03] Speaker E: It's beautiful and peaceful. [00:35:04] Speaker C: Rolling snow everywhere because you know, this is a very open, plains filled landscape. Otherwise the rest of the year. So it's just open snow everywhere. [00:35:12] Speaker E: It's gorgeous. [00:35:13] Speaker C: And it's beginning to get a little more overcast ahead again. You get the feeling it might snow again today. [00:35:19] Speaker G: But as you tread further north of concentration spell. Zachary. So it lasts for eight hours. The suggestion that it. But I don't know when concentration would have broken. Like, would it have broken when I left with At Muai? Would have kept on going because I never, I don't think I ever purposefully dropped it. [00:35:44] Speaker C: Yeah, give me an arcana check. [00:35:53] Speaker A: Come on. [00:35:56] Speaker G: Oh, man, I got a 12. [00:36:00] Speaker F: Okay. [00:36:02] Speaker C: I mean, what you recall with clarity is that you never dropped the spell and that you did overcome his Will. So I mean it's possible you might be overlooking some intricacies, but you're a very magically adept and capable person and you figure that, I mean, you know. [00:36:16] Speaker E: He probably would have kept going for the duration as much as you can reason. [00:36:21] Speaker G: I wonder. What I was wondering is. I wonder if somebody intercepted him before is what I was wondering. I was wondering if like he ran into things before he got to. [00:36:32] Speaker F: Could be. [00:36:35] Speaker C: You don't know. But as you keep walking a mile northward, the tracks do not stop. I mean is as you keep following the past pads every time you bring the stone back up to your eye. So tread onward the steps. [00:36:46] Speaker G: How far forward can I see through the snow? Like that they go. [00:36:53] Speaker C: Well, it's following the dirt road which does eventually become laden in snow. But the kind of cool thing you realize about past paths is that it is magically recalling information. It is a divination item. And as you look through the stone, you realize that the tracks are under the snow, but they don't cease. You continue to be able to see them, which is pretty cool. There is a physical covering that would have stopped anyone even months and months ago from doing the tracking. But the. The stone continues to pick up their steps. And I mean out to hundreds of feet you can see that the paths continue. [00:37:24] Speaker G: Doesn't look like they boss has the idea. He's thinking about wild shaping into like some kind of bird and flying, you know, a little bit farther, a lot farther to see if they're still on the main road going to town. But I don't know, I wasn't there when we first got there. The information we got. Would he think that there is like an inherent amount of risk to doing. [00:37:49] Speaker A: That. [00:37:52] Speaker G: With like the Kafka occupying force of the city or based on the information would he feel like there's a reasonable amount of certain. You have get like arrested by an army. [00:38:04] Speaker C: You have heard that the Kefkans are. [00:38:05] Speaker E: Greatly withdrawn from this area. [00:38:07] Speaker C: Was the last piece of information you received. [00:38:09] Speaker F: Okay. [00:38:10] Speaker G: And I don't want to draw any attention to parsage. [00:38:15] Speaker C: I mean all sorts of things could be possible as a course of action. An augury spell might be able to tell you more. But I mean to your last recollection you were told that the Kefkans are greatly withdrawn from this place. [00:38:27] Speaker G: Okay. [00:38:29] Speaker C: And apparently from most nations in the earth and blue. [00:38:39] Speaker E: Do you. [00:38:39] Speaker A: Alrighty. [00:38:41] Speaker G: Oh, I think I am going to. How far away is the main city from this town? [00:38:52] Speaker A: We walk. [00:38:53] Speaker G: We came here from there. [00:38:54] Speaker C: Like I would know among yourselves. I like you also did it. You came back to Parsage from the main city via some like underground network that you were following in a cart and slept through a great deal of it over the course of a day. But talk amongst yourselves and I can. [00:39:13] Speaker E: Give you an answer. [00:39:15] Speaker C: Do you think these maps are to scale? [00:39:17] Speaker E: Yes, they are. [00:39:18] Speaker G: What I'm wondering is if he got like eight hours. [00:39:22] Speaker C: And then like did. [00:39:23] Speaker G: Something and like at eight hours of walking, how long of flying? [00:39:27] Speaker D: And then he was like, oh, what? [00:39:30] Speaker G: Yeah, the tracks don't double back the parsonage or anything. Like he never came back. [00:39:35] Speaker B: Oh, you're right. [00:39:36] Speaker C: You are not seeing it. [00:39:39] Speaker A: That's. [00:39:40] Speaker D: That was smart. I didn't think about that. That would have been awkward. Abby, I like your tomato pillow. [00:39:56] Speaker A: Jake and Annabelle got it for me. Nice. I have another one. Oh, I hung your tomato sign right up there. You can't see it, but it's up there. [00:40:08] Speaker F: That's so cool. [00:40:09] Speaker D: I love the tomatoes. I love the tomatoes. [00:40:13] Speaker C: This is a guesstimation because the two maps are very different sizes. But I feel fairly certain that Boz, I am not mistaken. That you guys have a world map. Correct. [00:40:32] Speaker D: That we have a world map. [00:40:33] Speaker C: The party has procured a world map. [00:40:35] Speaker E: Correct? [00:40:36] Speaker D: Yes. [00:40:36] Speaker C: Quite some time ago, yes. [00:40:38] Speaker B: Yes. [00:40:39] Speaker C: Pause. Examining the map which is in your possession, you could have brought with you. And then considering the distances you've traveled, you reason that the distance between the capital of Tel than am eponymously named and Parsage itself is probably roughly 120 mile distance. So I mean day to travel on that ratio. I'm not sure off the top of my head how many miles an average person walks in a day. But it is 120 mile distance. You are able to to reach 24. [00:41:09] Speaker G: Hours to seven days or more. To walk 120 miles if you're walking constantly, it would take four days. But yeah, a suggestion would stop at the point that it would cause actual harm to him. So I guess so he could. So he would walk for all eight hours and not be there. [00:41:28] Speaker C: I mean, one would assume, unless he. [00:41:30] Speaker E: Is quite the speedy walker. [00:41:35] Speaker F: All right. [00:41:35] Speaker E: Unless he. [00:41:36] Speaker C: Unless he walks at about 100 miles an hour. [00:41:40] Speaker G: I guess this is a page we will not over turn over today. I think Boz does wild shape into a bird, but he just kind of flies back to the city. [00:41:51] Speaker C: Okay. [00:41:52] Speaker E: Okay. [00:41:53] Speaker C: Excellent. [00:41:53] Speaker D: All right. [00:41:56] Speaker C: Anything else from Boz that morning? [00:42:02] Speaker G: He's gonna go back to the hideout and he's going to look at the use the stone of past paths to kind of like, look at common people that they know and see if they've been inside the house. Like, stranger people. He's going to look at. Like, the man of Us. He's going to look at the King and the Queen, Princess people. He's going to look at Lashla, Biscuit. He going to call up the names of. [00:42:28] Speaker C: That is. That is. [00:42:30] Speaker G: I don't know any weird person who's been here. The Count. Like, he's going to see if anybody's been here. [00:42:37] Speaker C: Understood. Boz, as you peer through the side of past paths and do like a. Like a CSI sweep of your home, a clever use of the stone, you see? No steps from Miskor, none from the Count, none from any of the members of the Manibus, none from King Ewan, nor Princess Mira. [00:42:58] Speaker E: I don't. [00:42:59] Speaker C: Were there other names there? [00:43:01] Speaker G: The captain generals that he's seen. Lashla. [00:43:05] Speaker C: The big lashla. Nor from Lt. Viscuit, nor from General Vashnazan, nor from General Dolgoth. [00:43:15] Speaker G: What about the Mage lady, One that escaped? [00:43:21] Speaker C: Yeah, the one that you guys were, like, kind of neutral pals with for a little bit. [00:43:25] Speaker G: Yes. [00:43:27] Speaker C: We all remember her. Everybody remembers her name. Let's all say it together on screen. [00:43:30] Speaker D: Who? [00:43:31] Speaker G: Therese. [00:43:34] Speaker D: Wait, who are you talking about? [00:43:37] Speaker C: Mage lady Dogos. Mage lady. [00:43:39] Speaker G: The one that knows where all her family is. [00:43:41] Speaker C: Kaladra. Kaladra. You do not see any Steps from Caladra. [00:43:45] Speaker G: Okay, Might be worth talking to her to see if she knows what's going on with the captain. [00:43:49] Speaker A: Steps from Nifty. [00:43:53] Speaker G: Boz would not think about that. And he has not met Nifty. Oh, yeah, Is Greta there at the cave? [00:44:02] Speaker A: Yeah, Greta could be there. [00:44:05] Speaker G: Well, then I don't mind if you, like, notice what I'm doing. And, like, if you want to ask that, I'll be like, I'm just checking to see if people have been here that might have, I don't know, trapped it or been looking for us. [00:44:21] Speaker E: Are you asking me? [00:44:22] Speaker C: Your boss, B. I. [00:44:24] Speaker G: She asked me. And then I look into my little. [00:44:27] Speaker C: Peer glass and I say, boz, you do not know that person. [00:44:32] Speaker G: I gave it to Greta. [00:44:35] Speaker A: I peep for Nifty. [00:44:37] Speaker E: No steps. [00:44:39] Speaker G: All right? I think it's just a boring house. Actually, that's pretty good news. [00:44:48] Speaker B: Nothing but an empty look at. [00:44:52] Speaker G: What content are we on? [00:44:53] Speaker C: We're on Narskana. [00:44:56] Speaker G: And where is this from? I'm trying to compartmentalize. It's been a long time since, you know, world map. Like, who's from this area? That would be, like, weirdly magical. That would have, like, known about the caves and gone in there and, like, had. [00:45:10] Speaker C: There is your world map. [00:45:12] Speaker E: How visible is that? [00:45:13] Speaker D: I can't hold. [00:45:15] Speaker C: So there's the earthen bloom. Narzana is toward the center of the earthen bloom. Near Chet, Vashton, Yazlan, Byasta, and Kef. [00:45:28] Speaker G: Okay, so it's like the heart of the civilized world. It's like next to the Kafka empire. [00:45:32] Speaker C: Yes, in the east, at least. And no Senios in the far north, unsens further south. [00:45:38] Speaker G: I look for Janice. I look for footsteps of Janice. Footsteps. See, maybe if the war is the well have been here. [00:45:44] Speaker C: Okay. None come up. None come up. [00:45:46] Speaker G: Okay, cool. I may be barking up a tree with no fruit, but it's, you know, know, eventually a barking dog finds an echo. [00:46:01] Speaker C: Okay, thank you for that, Micah. Anything else from anybody? I mean, a clever move, Lando. Could I could have yielded something interesting? [00:46:10] Speaker A: If there's a lull, I would like to go look for something to buy. [00:46:14] Speaker E: Yes. [00:46:16] Speaker A: I'm just going to, like, I want to go into town and, like, just peek through some of the stores and see if I can find anyone selling sense by chance. [00:46:28] Speaker C: Sense Incense. [00:46:29] Speaker A: Incense. That's kind of a long shot. [00:46:34] Speaker C: And you must all. You are also required to beat off some. Some nosy folks. And I mean, it's hard to. It's hard to keep away all of the people who, like, recognize you and your identity. [00:46:44] Speaker E: And you. [00:46:46] Speaker C: You start to notice that, like, an unlikely. More people are drawn out of their home than you would expect to be drawn out of their home at this point in time because they have realized the fungi have returned. And so people are like, yeah, I mean, I might as well go check the firewood stacks. And people are just, like, finding reasons to be out to places and so is it cold? Yes, very. [00:47:12] Speaker A: So these people are breaking the cold. [00:47:15] Speaker C: To try and get a glimpse of a fungi. And honestly, it's like. It's like upper 20s today. But it's even started snowing again, and there's some, like, wind to it. It's unpleasant. [00:47:28] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:47:29] Speaker C: You do find that the good store you had previously visited when here that was described last time is currently closed. [00:47:38] Speaker E: It looks like it might even be. [00:47:39] Speaker C: Closed for holiday season. You get the feeling that, like, this time of year, people aren't buying a lot of stuff and even think about the day of the week. And you hadn't considered, like, oh, maybe this is like. Like there might be some, like, microcultural things going on here you're not aware of. But when you do find a common. [00:47:53] Speaker E: Good store, one of like one of two in the town. There are two stores in this town. [00:47:59] Speaker C: When you go around, like, looking through. [00:48:01] Speaker E: It, you do not find any parseage. [00:48:02] Speaker C: Though you are offered any and every. [00:48:05] Speaker E: Other thing under the sun and the. [00:48:07] Speaker C: Owner continues to remind you. And I'll offer you a hero's discount to cop off of any purchase. Yes. [00:48:16] Speaker A: Oh, wow. Oh, thank you. [00:48:22] Speaker C: What you've done for our town could never be repaid. [00:48:24] Speaker A: Oh, that's okay. It doesn't have to be repaid. Do you happen to have any incense? [00:48:35] Speaker C: No, I think we might be fresh out, but I could see if perhaps in the spring I could have some from. From town, from. From one of the larger cities. [00:48:44] Speaker E: Brodyn. [00:48:45] Speaker A: Well, that's okay. [00:48:46] Speaker B: I'll. [00:48:46] Speaker A: I can maybe travel. [00:48:47] Speaker C: I could requisite some. [00:48:49] Speaker A: You could what? [00:48:51] Speaker C: I could requisite some for a hit for a hero. I. I could ask that something be sent here in the spring when the. [00:48:56] Speaker E: Roads are more open for. For a hero such as yourself. [00:49:00] Speaker A: That's okay. What is in the. What is in the stores, Zach? [00:49:05] Speaker C: It's just like, general, like there are like, various. Because the town is. [00:49:13] Speaker A: Did n give me a list? [00:49:16] Speaker C: She did. [00:49:17] Speaker A: Okay. I. I look for. For the stuff that is on Nom's list. [00:49:21] Speaker C: You are able to find everything on her list. So this town is large or this shop is largely. Get the feeling it doesn't make like, okay, this town is an agricultural community. That's what they do. And so all. All foods that they grow are not bought. [00:49:37] Speaker E: They're just grown here. [00:49:40] Speaker C: And you have learned. Well, actually, no, you've not been here long enough. Have to learn about how they trade those. But the. Everything else important and sold at these stores. And so there are a lot of goods here that one could buy like once every five or ten years, like pots and pans and goods like that and basically clothing items. But then there's a whole lot of foods from other places. [00:50:04] Speaker F: Right. [00:50:05] Speaker C: Like, this town cannot get its own salt. This town cannot get its own. Like, these things need to be oil. These things need to be brought from other places. And so this establishment is one of the two in town which sells many of these items. And you find that the store you were previously at sold a little bit more like kind of like specific goods and that it is this store that sells the very general things. And here you are able to find. I mean, don't put some, like, finer things on the list. You're not able to procure, but all the basics you can gather here Okay. [00:50:33] Speaker A: I. I get those. And I. I. I say, like, thank you. No, that's okay. And then I go around, and I usually come to. [00:50:43] Speaker C: To. To 3 silver, but I could sell. [00:50:46] Speaker E: It to you for 2 silver and 8 copper. [00:50:50] Speaker A: Thank you. Thank you. And I. I give him. I give him, like, three silver. [00:50:56] Speaker E: Oh, ma', am, you don't have to. [00:50:59] Speaker A: No, I want to. I want to. Cleric. I want to. [00:51:03] Speaker F: Lady. Lady. [00:51:05] Speaker E: Greta. [00:51:06] Speaker A: You can call me Greta. [00:51:10] Speaker E: Thank you. [00:51:11] Speaker A: Thank you so much. I. I like you. I really appreciate you helping me. [00:51:18] Speaker E: I get to tell everyone Greta shops here. [00:51:22] Speaker A: Yeah, you can. Yeah. [00:51:27] Speaker C: Thank you for saving all our lives. [00:51:30] Speaker E: But, you know, you know, between us knowing folk, is it you all who've driven the Kefkans? Is it just from passage from old Tel', thanon, we've heard the Empire's too afraid to return. [00:51:46] Speaker A: Greta leans in, and she, like, puts a hand on his, like, hand or arm or something. Thing. [00:51:53] Speaker C: Yeah. He leans in so far. You have this man's heart and soul right now. [00:51:59] Speaker E: Yes. [00:52:03] Speaker A: She says, thank you for your help today. You have a. You have a beautiful shop, and I'm just happy that. That you're here and you're doing well. [00:52:16] Speaker E: Can't say and can't say in the. Know in the note. Right, right. [00:52:20] Speaker A: She says, have a great rest of your day. And then she takes stuff. [00:52:23] Speaker E: Wink. Said you. I won't say a word. [00:52:26] Speaker C: Thank you, Greta. Wow. And you, like, open the door and the wind and snow and just like. [00:52:32] Speaker A: Ah, yeah. Anyway, yeah, so I go and I. I'm gonna stop. I want to stop by the. The lady who's making our. Our bread maker. [00:52:43] Speaker E: Oven. [00:52:44] Speaker C: Yes, we all remember that's what they call it. [00:52:47] Speaker A: Oven. [00:52:52] Speaker C: Was it Newman? Newman. Note taker. Scribe. [00:52:56] Speaker D: Hold on. Give me one second. One second. [00:53:00] Speaker C: I want to save his Newman. You find her? [00:53:10] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:53:10] Speaker C: Finder. The DM has been preparing a bunch of different other things as well as. [00:53:14] Speaker D: Yeah, it is insane amount of schoolwork. [00:53:16] Speaker C: Oh, hey, sick. Great. So you find. You find Ms. Newman, the dwarven smithy. [00:53:22] Speaker A: Lady. [00:53:24] Speaker C: And you find her hard at work assembling stones, and she's actually making like, Like a. Like a frame. And when you find her, she says. [00:53:34] Speaker E: Oh, Miss Monster. Hello. [00:53:38] Speaker A: Hi. I just wanted to check out our bread maker. Just got here, and I wanted to. No rush. I'm just curious. I want to. [00:53:45] Speaker E: Amazing. Yeah. No, it's going well. Yes. [00:53:49] Speaker C: The. The. The short dwarven woman with the. The dark skin and hair and, like, the dreads and the clasps, and she's, like, sweating even in the cold inside of her small smithy shop. And she's. She's making a metal frame, and she goes. [00:54:01] Speaker E: The frames almost ready, and I'll be able to put down a stone base and then correct the stone, make the stone around it, and remove the center. And your oven will be buildable. You said you wanted it made behind your home. [00:54:13] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. [00:54:15] Speaker E: Okay. I could have this done before end of next week. [00:54:19] Speaker A: Oh, wow. Awesome. So will you bring it here once it's done, or will you build it. [00:54:26] Speaker E: There once your cast frame is done? I'll start building probably by. By next become. [00:54:33] Speaker A: Oh, wow. Okay. [00:54:34] Speaker E: Maybe even on him. [00:54:36] Speaker A: Okay, well, no rush. Are you gonna build it on. Behind the house, or you're gonna build it here and then move it behind? [00:54:43] Speaker E: That is where you wanted it, right behind your home? [00:54:45] Speaker A: Yes. [00:54:47] Speaker E: Yes. Yeah, I'd make it there. [00:54:49] Speaker A: Okay. Okay. So we won't move it. Okay. Just wanted to. [00:54:53] Speaker E: I assume you want the mouth of the oven facing toward the back porch. [00:54:58] Speaker A: I don't know. Well, I'll check with. I'll check with my. My friend or our Red or the person that. It's for your chef, maybe. Maybe. Yeah. Chef. My. [00:55:13] Speaker E: My new hires are always tricky. I understand. [00:55:16] Speaker A: Oh, let me know. Okay. Yeah. Thank you. [00:55:21] Speaker C: Okay, thank you. [00:55:22] Speaker A: You know where to find us. And Greta, like, kind of awkwardly leave. [00:55:27] Speaker E: Okay, thank you. [00:55:28] Speaker C: Thank you. [00:55:29] Speaker A: Bye. [00:55:30] Speaker E: And you're on your way. Gr. [00:55:31] Speaker A: Yeah, that's it. I think she goes back to the house or. Yeah, she goes back to the house. [00:55:41] Speaker E: Okay. [00:55:44] Speaker C: As the group is reconvening, convening, we could say it's about lunch, and you all have an experience you have never had together. So you all have eaten multiple times a day, many times before, but it is at this time that you return to lunch. And now, with all these provisions handy, Chippy Cooper has started making three square meals a day for the first time. And lunch is. It incorporates some of what was for breakfast, but now he's gone and bought some other bread. He's heated it on the stove, and he is. He has charred it slightly, put a little bit of butter on it to, like, toast it in a pan. And then he's cut up leftover sausage from breakfast and, like, made like a kind of, like, griddle sandwich sort of thing. He's working with what he's got here. [00:56:28] Speaker A: Sandwich, you say? One might say a sandwich. [00:56:35] Speaker E: I don't know. [00:56:36] Speaker A: One might say wedge of sand. [00:56:41] Speaker C: Okay. And these are available from you for you, along with some very cold water. And. But it's something, you know, you're getting there. And he's like, he's crumbling some like, hard tack and some milk to make like a sort of porridge thing along to go with it. He's doing his best. And he goes. [00:57:00] Speaker F: Welcome back, everybody. I was, I was hoping my bit. I don't know. [00:57:04] Speaker G: I. [00:57:05] Speaker F: We've been here for a hot second. [00:57:06] Speaker C: You guys want some lunch? That's gonna answer the weird. If I made the call and you hadn't eaten. You don't. [00:57:16] Speaker D: You don't have to like, cook for us every day. You know that, right? I mean, like, if you want to, you can. You just don't. You don't like, have to like. [00:57:25] Speaker F: Sure, we don't expect another job is here, but totally. [00:57:29] Speaker C: I think maybe the raccoon's trying to get them some food. Give me a second. [00:57:33] Speaker D: Okay. [00:57:37] Speaker C: That was Zach in real life, because in real life his raccoon was trying. [00:57:40] Speaker E: To get into some food. [00:57:42] Speaker C: So his tiny black raccoon. So as well, I. And he. He continues droning on about some topic and. And going over house arrangements and what you guys want might want him here for. And all of you are keenly aware of that as Greta, suddenly into your mind, a voice. And you are. You got me with that. You are spoken to by a voice you have not heard in some time. It's a sort of flat, somewhat low. [00:58:20] Speaker E: Female voice that says, greta, is this a good time to speak? And you hear the voice of. [00:58:29] Speaker C: Oh, I had an unexpected fart and. [00:58:33] Speaker E: It kind of broke my concentration. You hear the voice of Court, the fourth member of the man. [00:58:42] Speaker D: Yeah, she's the. She's red headed, right? [00:58:44] Speaker A: I'm sorry? [00:58:45] Speaker C: She's read everything. [00:58:46] Speaker E: She's a fire. Genasi. [00:58:47] Speaker D: That's right. That's right. [00:58:50] Speaker A: Okay. [00:58:51] Speaker C: K O R T T the Burning. [00:58:54] Speaker E: Sorceress, the fourth member of the Manibus with whom you have met twice. [00:58:59] Speaker A: Okay. I say. Oh, I. I like step outside. Okay. [00:59:08] Speaker F: Okay. That's all right. [00:59:10] Speaker A: Hi. [00:59:10] Speaker C: Can you step into another room? [00:59:12] Speaker A: Yeah. Step outside. [00:59:14] Speaker E: Yes. I. I was wondering if this would be a good time to check in to speak. [00:59:19] Speaker A: Yeah, it is. Do you. Do you. Yeah. Should I go get the others? [00:59:28] Speaker B: What? [00:59:29] Speaker E: Is it all right if I come to you where you are? [00:59:33] Speaker A: Yes, you can. Do you know where we are? [00:59:40] Speaker E: Well, it can be a little hard to pinpoint sometimes. One of you has to step away from Rowana for a little bit, but. Yes. [00:59:47] Speaker A: Okay. [00:59:48] Speaker F: Well, I mean, I don't know the. [00:59:49] Speaker E: Name of where you are, but. [00:59:53] Speaker A: Yeah. Yes, you can. Is something wrong? [00:59:59] Speaker E: Well, we just thought we'd we just need to talk with you all. [01:00:07] Speaker A: Okay? Yeah. [01:00:09] Speaker E: Okay. See you momentarily. [01:00:11] Speaker A: Okay. Greta's outside, and she walks just, like, a little further from the house to get a little further from Greta's necklace. [01:00:22] Speaker C: There is this ball of fire that consumes some of the snow nearby. [01:00:27] Speaker E: Just. [01:00:29] Speaker C: And suddenly, standing there in the steam on the charred ground, you've seen. You have seen Kort teleport before, and it is always accompanied by fire. And standing there in the smoke is this woman with jacinth skin and burning orange hair and gold all over her burgundy robe. And she lands. [01:00:50] Speaker E: And she goes, right. It's cold here. And. [01:00:57] Speaker C: You look just beyond her to the road. And 120ft up there, up that way, with no one else, there is just this one kid who is halfway through packing a snowman, who's just like. And Court just turns and goes, hi. [01:01:14] Speaker E: And he just takes a glove and goes like. And waves, stunned. [01:01:20] Speaker C: And then Court starts walking toward the house. [01:01:23] Speaker D: That's so funny. [01:01:26] Speaker E: I think Abby's doing a thing with the mic now. [01:01:29] Speaker A: I follow her. [01:01:31] Speaker C: Okay. [01:01:33] Speaker E: And in a. [01:01:34] Speaker C: A very. The kid watching Mr. Incredible pick up the car in the Incredibles, the kid just stands there staring. And you guys go back into the house, and you pass in, and Goober goes. [01:01:43] Speaker F: And I think that ties the meal to, oh, hi. [01:01:45] Speaker C: Hello. [01:01:47] Speaker G: I suddenly see her footsteps appear on the Stone of seeing. [01:01:53] Speaker A: You. [01:01:54] Speaker C: You do as you watch her real legs accompany them. And you are aware of it as she does. [01:01:59] Speaker D: Are you still just sitting in the. [01:02:01] Speaker C: House like this, sitting there at the table, eating his food? And he's got the stone of past pads up to his eye, and you go, ah. Quartz footsteps as Quart walks in. [01:02:10] Speaker D: Is he gonna. [01:02:12] Speaker C: And spree. Goober goes, Ah, hello, Mrs. Quart. [01:02:17] Speaker E: And she goes, it's quartz, but thank you. [01:02:20] Speaker C: And you guys watch as Nam, like, looks really put out, picks up her food and just walks summarily into the. [01:02:26] Speaker E: Room and closes the door behind her. [01:02:29] Speaker C: And Court walks in. [01:02:32] Speaker E: Hello, everyone. I needed to pop in. [01:02:37] Speaker D: Is everything okay? Hi, welcome. Would you like some food? [01:02:42] Speaker A: Sorry. [01:02:44] Speaker E: Yes. If something's being offered, I'm a bit hungry and spooky. [01:02:46] Speaker C: Goober goes, oh. [01:02:50] Speaker B: Have mine. [01:02:51] Speaker C: I'll be right back. And he walks over to the. [01:02:54] Speaker A: Oh. [01:02:54] Speaker C: Craig offers part of his. [01:02:55] Speaker B: Craig, like, I just finished making a plate. Or, like, he, like, hands it off. [01:03:02] Speaker C: Court, who's not a social savant, goes, thank you, and just sits down with the plate and starts eating. Moment. A moment later, the raccoon runs through. [01:03:11] Speaker E: And Court goes, oh, okay. [01:03:14] Speaker D: Ro Shares her plate with Craig. [01:03:18] Speaker E: That's a really big cat. [01:03:22] Speaker A: So. [01:03:25] Speaker C: First of all, I know that. [01:03:26] Speaker E: We briefly made sure that you all are all right, but we wanted to touch base with the matter involving the Count. We're aware of his existence or his previous existence, but other than the possible threat he poses at a. International level, we've never focused on him too much. But we are aware that he was a very significant threat to you all. And so we know that he has been slain. But we just wanted to check in if there was any other important information there or if that matters. [01:04:01] Speaker G: He was a fiend himself. He was a fiend. He was the tiger hand backwards guy. That's what he was. [01:04:07] Speaker E: Okay. [01:04:08] Speaker A: A rock. Sh. [01:04:09] Speaker C: Get an interesting look on her face. [01:04:11] Speaker G: And she says, oh, he almost came back to life. We had to smash his heart. [01:04:18] Speaker D: Yeah. That jar with the heart that we asked you guys about a while. That was his. Yeah. [01:04:26] Speaker F: Wow. [01:04:27] Speaker E: That is very worth it. Reporting to the Manabus. The Deep Roots are aware of fiends. [01:04:34] Speaker G: No, it just kind of happened. We just kind of, like, ran it. Our paths kind of crossed, and he couldn't get over it. [01:04:42] Speaker C: Have. [01:04:44] Speaker E: Have the Lost Lands run into other fiendish influences? [01:04:48] Speaker G: No, we actually ran into him outside of Port Splendissant. That's when our paths first crossed. He was. He was after the Lady. The Empress Lady. The Countess Lady. [01:05:02] Speaker E: Ah, he hated her. Sure. Wow. That's. [01:05:08] Speaker A: He hated a lot of people. I think. [01:05:11] Speaker G: He hated every single person. [01:05:13] Speaker D: Ro looks at Tello as if, like, do you want to share anything? Like, not like, rudely, not like, just like Tella. [01:05:22] Speaker C: Just. [01:05:23] Speaker E: He gets a somber look, and he just goes. A terrible person. And he goes back to eating, and Quart says there are a handful of those in the world. I didn't know that. The Deep Roots conceived of fiends. They're of other realms, and there should not be in any. In Yellibrin, according to some very old books. So that is valuable information I will pass along. [01:05:52] Speaker D: Interesting. [01:05:55] Speaker E: Yeah. All right. Okay. That's valuable to know. Well, all matters are resolved there. [01:06:05] Speaker D: Yeah. Except Miskar kind of. [01:06:12] Speaker E: Zag in. [01:06:14] Speaker D: Yeah, we. I think we need. We need to probably get rid of her. We haven't, like, decide, like, she kind of, like, wanted to make a deal with us because of the Count, and now she's. Yeah, it's like a whole thing. But, I mean, we have it covered. [01:06:36] Speaker A: It. It did. We did. [01:06:42] Speaker E: This may be importune timing. All right, well, I don't mean to push you in any direction, especially considering what you've recently endured. But that may be worth resolving before we launch our next endeavor. [01:06:56] Speaker D: I have a question for you before we continue on with us being transparent and all. She goes in and tells them about the dream with Viskit and Lashla and the Red Lightning and all of that. [01:07:13] Speaker C: She tells her you get, like, halfway through. [01:07:14] Speaker D: She tells her everything. [01:07:16] Speaker E: Kor just starts nodding and says, guess that's a bit of what we're here to speak about. [01:07:21] Speaker D: Oh, great. [01:07:22] Speaker E: Among other previously discussed matters. It's not much of a secret at this point that you are among the Manabus closest allies. We are, I would imagine, heavenly. Heavily relying upon each other at this point and. [01:07:39] Speaker A: Zach, can you. [01:07:39] Speaker E: We're meant to be speaking with you. [01:07:43] Speaker A: Sorry, we, like, can't hear you. We're turning your volume up, so it's fine. [01:07:48] Speaker C: Okay. All right, great. [01:07:50] Speaker A: So smart. I was just gonna ask you to talk louder. [01:07:55] Speaker C: And I don't know where among your closest allies, we do the magic. She continues, and she says, stupid. [01:08:11] Speaker E: We were meaning to come speak to you within the next few weeks. Regardless. Involving the eventual invasion of Zorgram and the attack upon the Lich Queen, we. Which is. We have been redoubling those efforts ever since. Greta, in one of the more important moments of the last year, let us know from your order with Ioun that three of the five Veil Blades have pierced the veil around Yalabran. Ever since learning that information, we have redoubled our focus and tried to move that event up. If all is otherwise well with you. And we would ask you to carefully consider what facing the Hag in such a populated area may mean. But if you need to resolve that issue, it may be time. Given that we may need our attack upon Xystha to be sooner rather than later. [01:09:15] Speaker D: How much sooner? [01:09:16] Speaker E: We may have reason to believe that it is not three of five Veil Blades anymore. So much as four of five. Are you all aware of what has transpired with the Kefkans, given your inquiries? [01:09:32] Speaker D: Not fully. Except for the dream stuff and all that. I mean, they've been. [01:09:42] Speaker A: We know they've been pulling back, but we don't know why. [01:09:46] Speaker D: And we know, like, Viskit sounded scared. [01:09:54] Speaker E: Yes, well, yes. We were also rather uncertain. The reason? They have been devising some nefarious machinations for some time without our understanding. They can be a hard organization to penetrate. The Iron Diamonds have a. The Iron Cauldron altogether, let alone their zenith have a well armored hold on their plans and devices. But the warriors of the well have been at odds with a number of their faction for quite some time, as every bit as you all have. And are you all aware of the identity of Xavian's sister? I think the one there's another royal, Savina. A nom. And though this was business of some import to the world, eventually we had done our best to leave this the interest of Xavian first. Many relations to many people at the Manipus. And Xavian was not the only one to survive the Crimson Noon. It turns out Savina also did. And by the same mechanism that she had also become a warlock of the Bloodied One. We are led to understand that. Well, we are told clearly and explicitly by the warriors that both as a function of their interesting concerns with the. [01:11:37] Speaker C: Empire and the well being of all. [01:11:39] Speaker E: Of Yaldryn, as well as Javan's familial involvement with Lashla, that they had chosen to have their conflicts with the Empire draw to a head. Especially as the Empire had pulled almost all of their forces around the capital. Two thirds of their full army, more than 4 million troops, had been pulled to their capital, the capital of the Central Palace. Yes, Thrarsh. And that is its own matter. At the same time as all of the Empire was pulling back to their capital in a way that they never had before, and the Kefkan Navy, its thousands of ships strong, had all been pulled back to guard Kef itself, a military strategy none of us could make any sense of. Not with all of our intel and not with any spies. Not with anyone. We found at the same time that Undeloth, one of the three remaining generals, had been dispatched with his vessel Deathbringer, and a small fleet, very small fleet to Zedge. Again, a very startling and confusing choice. We informed the warriors of the well, and they took it upon themselves as this, their moment to reinvene or to intervene. And they set upon Unduloth. They faced him and slayed him. It seems that he had been sent. It seems that in his vessel he had been slowly but surely over the last year and a half, tracking down and with the considerable resources of the Empire, purchasing the vast majority of bones from the slain Dragon Yeppen, and had reconstituted the dragon under his keep as an undead monstrosity. The warriors of the well faced the Evershade, the Master of Necromancy, there along with his whole fleet and the dragon, and destroyed them all, escaping with their lives. After returning from that effort, with two of the five generals slain, oh three, it turns out that General Kisk's body had been suspended within the dragon. A complicated affair. We're led to believe that he somehow gained a portion of his heart and life essence as a deal with the Holy Hunters at the edge of their conflict in Zedge, that this was the bargain they struck, which permitted him to rescind his troops. Tholgin has theorized that it was this reason for which he had fled from the Empire and this reason for which he had been tracked down. Though how and when we are not sure. With three of the five dead and the Empire making so many unpredicted and surprising choices, and with our minds set to mourn final circumstances for the world involving the Bloodied One and the Lich Queen, we condoned that the warriors of the well should head to Thrarsh and try and face the Empire, who were clearly launching some sort of a gambit for which we were not prepared. The wars of the well were quite clever. They devised a way to enter the palace in its center, bypassing this immense force which apparently had been amassed to protect the palace itself. Again, a deeply concerning sign. They fought through waves and waves of Kefkans and eventually found the throne room a waiting trap for where apparently Lashla, Vashnazan and the Emperor were all waiting, along with additional forces. It appears that the throne room had been converted into one massive, intricate magical circle. A circle of transmutation. The Kefkans have been launching for the last three decades expeditions into Chaskannen, the last surface available ruins for the cultures of the Old Ones, of the Elder Ones in the Platinum Age. There are a handful of other ruins of these cultures we found of around the world. One is in the far north, but many of these are embedded under ice or within mountains. The warriors of the well have stumbled upon another. But in Tchoskanan there are two different ruined ruins of departed cultures from the Older age. And the Kefkans have been launching investigations into this. This place, as we know it, is our most investigated location. We have spoken of this before. Their expeditions never proved fruitful. A small contingent of their group was trapped in a portion of this ruin in a chronomantic bind for decades. We'd found their endeavors unfruitful, but it appears they had actually discovered quite a bit and had been rather clandestinely communicating this back to the Emperor, who, through some discoveries by the warriors of the well, we have discovered is not only the current Emperor of the Empire, but has been a number of the Emperors. That this individual has led multiple lives within the Empire and has been the Emperor and Empress multiple times, and that this current name the Emperor was using for themselves Asgon was just a current identity. It appears this individual had determined there are many, many mysteries from the Elder age in Tjaskanan. And one we had missed was a ritual for ascension to demi deity. And that Azgon was pursuing this end, seeking a more eternal position for the empire in Yaldran. The wars of the well found themselves there, where Asgon had been waiting for them in a sort of hubristic vie at facing what he or they believed to be the herald ultimate challengers in the current age. And determining that as the crucible by which he might ascend to this demi deity, he faced them. There they battled. And in the course of this conflict they killed Lashla Blade eater. They also slew the majority of other forces there. Voshnazhan is as we've had this reported from them. They are still in quite a difficult straight. The warriors of the well recovering as will be clearer in a moment. [01:19:49] Speaker A: But. [01:19:51] Speaker E: Vashnazan is perhaps an unparalleled warrior. Likely the greatest individual combatant the empire has ever produced. And perhaps of this our age. It appeared that he was overcoming the warriors of the well as they were fighting with all the forces. But as the ritual grew further and further, it was also clear that Asgard had not shared his aspirations with all of his generals. And Vashnazan found the tide of events against his interest and departed. The warriors of the well continued to battle what remained of the forces. But not before the ritual succeeded and Asgon ascended to demi deity. Not a God, but an incredibly powerful divine being, if you will. The warriors of the well then fought him in this form. Still. They really are plucked from an older time. [01:21:06] Speaker F: And. [01:21:09] Speaker E: When it seemed that they were losing this battle as well, Xavian was mentally contacted by his sister who told him to flee. In the midst of this confusing turn again with what I've been able to piece together from the warriors. Savina appeared in the space since the death of Oogway and her cultish empire in Kraska. We believe that Savina has become and Shavian's liberation from the Bloodied One. We believe that savage Savina has become the favored envoy. [01:21:51] Speaker D: Of the Bloody Dawn. [01:21:52] Speaker E: Herald of the end, if you will. And she appeared there. And for a moment the war is the well found that she was their ally as she was battling Asgon. But we told you of what transpired in in Kaska. Yes, with the cult and how their destruction was. [01:22:14] Speaker C: And you all remember how some time. [01:22:16] Speaker E: Ago the man of us told you. [01:22:17] Speaker C: About how the warriors of the well went to Kaska. To fight Ukway and her cult there. And that their destruction was ultimately a ploy from the bloodied one. That in killing Ukway, the powerful figure he had set up, they were slaying a tyrant and therefore completing one of. [01:22:32] Speaker E: The blood rituals as it subsumed their city and created another other of those great craters in the world. And that this was the third veil. [01:22:39] Speaker C: Blade that tore the veil around Yin, and that this was the information that led Greta to ask the question with. [01:22:45] Speaker E: The order of Ioun that she did. And so, with you all remembering that, what did you. [01:22:49] Speaker D: Yes, I'm sorry, what did you call her? The Herald of what? [01:22:53] Speaker C: Herald of the End. [01:22:54] Speaker D: The End. [01:22:55] Speaker C: Okay. [01:22:55] Speaker F: Thank you. [01:22:55] Speaker E: Herald of the end. Court continues. And she says the party realized that perhaps Asgon's envoys in their expeditions to Tjoskunen had been nudged in the right direction by Zorogram to discover this ritual. That as the emperor of the Kefkan empire, having oppressed so much of the world, arose to demi deity that his death might again qualify as a sacrifice for a ritual of tyrants. And the warriors of the wells suddenly redoubled their efforts to try and protect the emperor, but in their exhausted and partially defeated state, could not stop Savina, who succeeded in killing the emperor and in doing so completed a fourth ritual of blood. The warriors of the well fled, and Thrarsh was annihilated as Ookway's city before it and the ancient city in Unson before that, and so on. Thrarsh is gone. Vashnazan has fled, but otherwise the empire is. Pieces remain scattered around the earth in bloom, but otherwise the empire's gone. In a single moment, the great majority of all of their army was annihilated, the vast majority of all of their leadership and the greatest density of sentient life in the world eliminated. Thrarash was home to 8 million people short of the army that was there at the time. The greatest concentration of life anywhere in Yellowpin. Whatever you may think of those people, gone in an instant. Another great crater added to our world. The warriors of the well have spent the last week attempting to piece themselves together from the conflict. It has begun to seem. We recognize we are facing a great foe. It is also hard not to take this as a personal failure of foresight to have considered that this same trick would be played on us again in a different form. But it is difficult warring with a God, and our efforts now to topple Sistha before such a similar ritual may be practiced seem all the more important. [01:25:56] Speaker C: From what we have been able to divine. [01:25:58] Speaker E: It is very heavily cloaked and shrouded. And we have been in contact with your order. Greta. We don't imagine that Shiztha could be a conduit of a ritual sacrifice, given that she is not alive. But after the events which have transpired with Oogway and Asgon, who neither of whom we would have considered to have been sufficient conduits for this, we're not going to take that risk anymore. And she is in another great spire gathering undead toward her. We imagine that she might be the vehicle for the fifth and last veil blade. We cannot allow this veil blade to be torn. If the veil is torn, there will be nothing barring the bloodied wish return to Yalabun. An event I imagine none of us could survive. As you all have been well aware for more than a year now. We planned early spring to head there, but we don't imagine we have that time anymore. We imagine that in the next two weeks we will be setting out for Zorogram 2 face Shista. Greta, it would appear your mic is not working. This is a magical spell. [01:27:33] Speaker C: Mic on a stick. Abby Listener. What you can't see is Abby's been slowly affixing a mic to a pencil. Missed it and it went flying out of her. [01:27:44] Speaker G: I don't think I was there for the explanation of the Veilblade. So basically like when a great source of tyranny is like killed, it like pierces the veil that keeps Zorgrim out. [01:27:53] Speaker E: Of the material plane. Right. [01:27:54] Speaker C: So you guys know that the veil is this incredible magical barrier that the maker put around Yaladbren a very long time ago after the Hatefall. And that there were previously many more gods and forces that had access to this world. But part of the reason that no. [01:28:10] Speaker E: One in this world knows what a. [01:28:11] Speaker C: Devil or a fiend is. And so there are these apparently over the last however many generations. And actually that the veil is even older than that. And that the maker was that he permitted only certain beings to see through it and have access to it. And that Zorgrim has been as he sacrifices tyrants. It's this incredible because blood and violence against against powers and structures are this. This kind of ritual that feed him power. [01:28:42] Speaker E: And that if he has a sufficient. [01:28:44] Speaker C: One, a sufficient claiming of and that it needs to be both like the sacrifice of a tyrant and like millions of lives at the same time in this weird like hyper cyclical like you. [01:28:56] Speaker G: Know what caused like the city to explode. [01:28:59] Speaker C: I guess I don't understand an upwelling of Zorgrim's power. [01:29:04] Speaker G: Okay, okay. [01:29:06] Speaker C: So it's like piercing that like the killing of the tyrant is sufficient to get that going and that like then the power flows through and then he kills the. As, as the, as the. And then it's like as the tyrant dies, others die. As others die, this is like spilled blood in the sake of injustice. And that like he is, he is the God of hatred and violence, but he is also the God of, of like, of revenge and of, he is, he is the God opposed to oppression and tyranny. And so it's this double edged sword. And so that like in this weird twisted, doesn't work out morally way that like as all these people die, it is like a sufficient fuel that it is an injustice and that, that is a sufficient fuel for, for his power. And that all of that power is aimed up at the veil around the world which also happens to destroy everything in a couple miles. And that these blasts of power are being called veil blades and they are slowly but surely cutting through the veil around the world. And that Greta's vision when you guys were at the Order of Ioun was that there are five needed. And it appears now that four have. [01:30:18] Speaker E: Torn through the world. [01:30:19] Speaker C: One forever ago in an ancient culture, and then another in the city in Unson, all during the skyfires. And then another some time ago with Ukway in the words the wellwork in the wildlands. And then now most recently one having. [01:30:36] Speaker E: Destroyed the capital of the Kefkan empire and most of the empire with it. [01:30:41] Speaker A: So Greta, Greta speaks up and she says. [01:30:47] Speaker G: So it's kind of open ended like on who it can be. Like, it's not like one specific person. It's just like whoever hits that limit, we don't really know what that is. [01:30:56] Speaker C: Yeah, the man, the manabus is admitting that they're having a very hard time predicting what these qualifications are. And that Zorgrim appears to be finding quite a few creative ways around what. [01:31:06] Speaker E: They thought could and could not qualify an individual. [01:31:09] Speaker A: So Greta, Greta speaks up and she says so remind. I mean obviously under normal circumstances we would kill Shista. Why? If it's a risk that this could be the last straw? Why, why is it safe to do it now but not in early spring? [01:31:33] Speaker D: Yeah, that's what I was. [01:31:34] Speaker A: Greta, is are you sure it's safe to do it now and not in early spring? Spring? I'm talking to Court. [01:31:39] Speaker C: Yes, Court. Sorry, I said Greta and I meant Court. Court is chewing through another bite of buttered bread and sausage and she takes. [01:31:47] Speaker E: A Hard swallow after drinking some water. And she goes, your captain's quite the cook. Well, we're not sure of anything at this point. I mean, in all three of these circumstances, the more time he was permitted to work Zorgrim. And you watch her pause as she says the name out loud as if it's a name she's much more concerned to say than she used to be. But she pauses in that thought for just a moment and continues. And she says, he is orchestrating these circumstances with time and preparation. What we thought was a millennial gathering of forces to perhaps threaten the world with the Lich Queen a distant issue for the future we see now might be a gathering of conflict. We're not sure. As we understand it, these blood sacrifices must involve the living. And Shistha and her ilk are anything but. So we don't understand how this could qualify at all. However, neither did we understand how the last two were sufficient. [01:33:03] Speaker D: They're not. [01:33:04] Speaker E: We do not want to wait because the longer we give him, the more time in both of these circumstances. And we can't judge too highly what we could not have known. But in both of these circumstances, we saw the Empire as an unrelated threat and we saw the cult in the west as related, but not through any clear purpose to this. So though we do not see how she's. Then her forces equate, we fear it would be dangerous to give more time to wait and find out. Additionally, it is amassing a force and if Zorgon intends to use them at some time for some purpose, they are reaching a considerable power. [01:33:48] Speaker G: I think that we should be careful about trying to go after me score right now. Yeah, I don't know. I mean, that would be like the middle of unsen. Like, imagine all the people there. Like, if she somehow meets some qualities to your. She's. [01:34:06] Speaker A: She's not. She's not. She's not like a cult leader or a political leader, but she does lord over a lot of people's. Like, she has a lot of control over people. [01:34:19] Speaker E: From what we understand, though, Miscore is a very malignant figure. To be sure, we do not know that she even remotely meets the qualifications. This is a function of the deity whose organ is. [01:34:34] Speaker A: Well, she's. [01:34:34] Speaker G: She's trying to get the power of an outer day without. She's. I mean, she's trying to like, claim the power of Bathshapa. Like the stone? [01:34:45] Speaker E: Yes. [01:34:45] Speaker G: Like, she's been. [01:34:46] Speaker E: Were she in possession of such, perhaps she would qualify. [01:34:49] Speaker C: Again, we believe these individuals need to. [01:34:52] Speaker E: Be more societally Significant. [01:34:57] Speaker G: Okay. [01:34:58] Speaker E: Interpreting the role of deities in mortal reality is complicated. But perhaps from what we have learned of Greta and from speaking with the Order of Knowledge, perhaps your godra Yaga, Greta, would qualify. And not to say yours. We apologize. Perhaps the Hag Queen would qualify, but Miskor does not yet possess any of these powers. [01:35:23] Speaker A: What about Harkhren? [01:35:24] Speaker D: That's who I was gonna say. [01:35:27] Speaker E: This is another concern. [01:35:29] Speaker A: So my question. I'm. I'm hung up on Shista. So even though she could be the catalyst that begins the end of the world, we want to go kill her? Is. Am I understanding correctly? [01:35:51] Speaker E: Cannot. It is the living, the sacrifice of the living who lord over the living, or the deific who lord over the living or the which catalyzes this ritual. She is not living. And yet Zorgrim gathers power to her anyway. Where she fear that he may at some point intend to cloak her again in life for the purpose of destroying her. This is nebulous. But in either case, as the hour grows near, and Grimm, in either case, this is a concerning a mass of power. [01:36:31] Speaker A: So we're 100% sure that it has to be a living. [01:36:38] Speaker E: Sacrifice. [01:36:39] Speaker D: Where she's at? She's in Zorgram. [01:36:44] Speaker E: Zorogram. [01:36:45] Speaker D: Zorrom. Yes. So there's not really any living people there anymore. Correct. There's not like a big society there. [01:36:55] Speaker C: Not a large one, do you think? [01:36:58] Speaker E: There is a very small culture of goblins who live on a coast known as the Boiling Lake. And there is also an orcish culture lorded over by a dragon near a volcano in the land, but otherwise, no. And both cultures are small, do you think? [01:37:16] Speaker D: Because if I remember correctly, and I don't remember dm, I don't remember who told us this. And I'm hoping that our characters know and it's not just me that knows this as a player. But didn't the society that used to live there, it was like. Didn't they live like a really long time? [01:37:42] Speaker A: Right. [01:37:42] Speaker D: Like they were very powerful? [01:37:45] Speaker E: Basically, it was one of the cultures lost in the skyfires. [01:37:52] Speaker D: Would there be, as Shista is sort of a very powerful necromancer. Correct. Could she somehow bring all of those people back to life to then kill again? [01:38:10] Speaker E: Kill them. We are concerned that this might be the purpose of amassing all of these undead that were they in somehow to be able to be brought to life. Their immediate destruction could act as this final catalyst. This is the reason we mean to dismantle this power before it could be converted. Now, how this could Even be achieved, we are not sure. But perhaps this has been Zorgom's interest in. In the deep magic, in the wellsprings and the deep wells. That this alone might be the source capable of converting undeath to life. This is again somewhat unclear to us. And the role Carchran plays is again concerning. We imagine that his destruction would also be sufficient, though. There it is more complicated than this. But to be quite frank, and this is an oversimplification of all the variables we are measuring we find it a more prescient and feasible conflict to face the Lich Queen on land than a young God in the ocean. At the very least, we have far more forces capable of traversing this land space. [01:39:23] Speaker D: Well, and if we did go after Carcran, it could be his destruction might. [01:39:29] Speaker E: Trigger the same result. Anyway, if we could topple a young God, which we find equally unrealistic his destruction might serve the purpose Zorgrim is searching for anyway. [01:39:39] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:39:40] Speaker E: We imagine at this point that destroying the Lich Queen before whatever her purpose could be would be sufficient work to keep the splitting of the Veilblades before Zorgrim could ever return. [01:39:51] Speaker D: There's no other. I know they're very rare, but, I mean. But Yepen was dead. You said so he was an undead. But would a dragon in a. In a society like, if Yepen had been alive, would that have been a big enough catalyst to. [01:40:13] Speaker E: Perhaps. [01:40:14] Speaker D: I mean. [01:40:14] Speaker C: Well, he was. [01:40:16] Speaker D: But do we know his dares did. [01:40:18] Speaker E: Not trigger any event? [01:40:19] Speaker D: That's true. But he was undead, right? [01:40:23] Speaker E: Or, well, the first time he was very much alive. [01:40:25] Speaker D: Oh, well, okay. [01:40:30] Speaker E: Yep. In the Twice Sling, We know that this is quite a bit too. We wanted to wait as long as possible with what you all are recovering from. But we also understood that this, at some point, cannot wait. We are informing you, if you are still willing to participate, that we mean to assault the Lich Queen in the next two weeks. [01:40:56] Speaker D: What about Javian's sister, though? She's a warlock of Zorgrim. Correct. And she's living to our understanding. Would she be enough. [01:41:08] Speaker E: With her asocial role? We do not believe so. From everything we understand, no. But again, he has proved cleverer than us. Twice now. Well, given that Shiztha was our former leader thrice. [01:41:28] Speaker B: This might be a thing that y' all have already thought of. [01:41:34] Speaker E: Maybe. [01:41:34] Speaker B: It's a good question. Is there any way, like any way to. As opposed to killing Shista to conceal her or trap her in. In something that. [01:41:59] Speaker E: We have considered these possibilities. [01:42:01] Speaker B: I'm thinking Genie's bottle kind of thing. If pregna's with that or send her, I don't know she's power. [01:42:10] Speaker E: But this possibility. Part of the challenge is that most of the killing that the Hate King has done has been interdimensional. Most of lives he has taken, he has ripped from other realms. So were we even to banish her? There is no realm he is more barred from than this. The material realm. Here it appears that it is only the realm enwrapped in the veil that he is not able to cross. Boz, I am again impressed that you conceive of what a fiend is given the historical of this world. But if you are aware of. Well, I remember you told us some time ago that Dolgoth who was linked to such powers. Again, a bizarre aberration for which we have not yet an explanation. That he threw you through some of the realms to which these powers Link Zorgrim assaulted these realms, attacked the Hells and apparently some time ago slew one of their archdevils, decimating entire armies before being driven out. But this is to assault one of the most terrible and formidable realms in all the cosmos. And there's nothing to say that he could not return and do it again. Even the Hells fear him. And we are concerned to what realm we could banish the Lich Queen. Yeah, but to be clear, Craig, if you have an idea, please offer it. Not only are we listening to all allies in this hour, but you all are a part of this conversation because you have earned your place here. You are an invaluable member of the coalition to defend this world. And we trust and respect the insights you all have brought. [01:44:10] Speaker D: Do you think. Two questions. One, I'm sure you've thought of this with all the. But like a pocket dimension or something. [01:44:23] Speaker E: There are magics, especially old ones, that could persist in such. [01:44:29] Speaker A: But. [01:44:31] Speaker E: We'Re considering it. We really are. The other has not been ruled out. [01:44:35] Speaker D: The other question is, do you all think that Shista knows of his plan? Like, would there be any way to. [01:44:45] Speaker E: She must. [01:44:46] Speaker D: Would there be any way to. To. [01:44:51] Speaker G: He's spoken words. [01:44:52] Speaker D: If we were. [01:44:54] Speaker G: I assume it wouldn't be possible. [01:44:57] Speaker D: Well, if we were to. When we face her, would it be possible to somehow, before destroying her or whatever, to trap her in a way to get her to reveal. Is there any magics that we could basically interrogate her? [01:45:33] Speaker E: We have not conceived of any. But we would love to remind you at this time that the manabus is far older than you all. We are better resourced we are more experienced. And we are the ones who have been fooled twice now by the bloodied one. Obviously, you all are a part of this with us because we are in need. We all need each other. And you all have a very different set of skills than all of us. But to be clear, we also believe that your insights are valuable. We have been searching for answers for centuries. And it was Greta and her insights and her unexpected choices, along with the favor of her deity, that provided us the most important insight we have gained into all these matters. Centuries. If you all can conceive of a solution we have not yet considered, we are absolutely open to having it integrated into our strategies. And as a reminder, because we know you all have been through quite a bit in the last few months, if you all are still willing to the request, not only do we mean for you to join us in our assault of the Lich Queen, but we mean for you all to be the ones that ultimately defeat her. And so. So if you conceive of such a strategy, we would support you wholeheartedly in that effort. We do not mean to embed you in the strategy at this time in the minutia, though we will be very explicit as it draws nearer. Our essential plan at this time is that Blackfang Shiztha's tower resides in the south central heart of Zorgrim. Around it stand five towers. Shista has five lords of death. One cannot approach Blackfang without overcoming these lords. They are incredibly powerful liches in their own right, and these five towers form a powerful barrier. One cannot conjure themselves to the Tower, not to any of our understanding. The lords must be destroyed to assault the Tower. And there is an army of undead in between. We are currently rallying every ally and force we have to be the aid which would open your entry to blackfy. We are working on this strategy and have been for weeks as we speak. But we mean to summon allies from all around the world to come, assault the five lords and provide you all entrance to reach Blackfang before Shiztha knows what has struck her. We imagine the odds of a true surprise at this time. Unlikely. We do not. We're not so arrogant as to assume that we would catch them unaware. But our current strategy is to defeat the five lords, provide you entry to the Lich Queen and have you defeated. Defeat her. [01:48:29] Speaker D: There are these five lords living? [01:48:33] Speaker E: No. They are. There are no living. [01:48:38] Speaker G: I wonder if. I know it's very unlikely, but I just. I just wonder if Miscort has is going to be Something. She had one. [01:48:51] Speaker E: It's not that she couldn't be. [01:48:53] Speaker G: She has. [01:48:54] Speaker E: Not that she couldn't be. [01:48:55] Speaker G: She started all that we know with the Bloodied One. [01:49:00] Speaker E: True Hags are inherently divining beings. They see the future as we see the present. So from what we understand, it would make far more sense that she has been. [01:49:15] Speaker C: Yes, Black Fang. [01:49:16] Speaker E: Yes, Jackie. It would seem more logical to us that she has been a parasitic opportunist along this path who considered the threads of your destiny and utilized them to her own gain. But to be clear, Boz, nothing's impossible. This could absolutely be the case. All that we know of these events would point to it in no way being the case. But nor did we foresee Asgon intending to turn himself into a demigod, so. [01:49:48] Speaker C: So that she might have a more. [01:49:50] Speaker G: Important role, if possible. I think we should. If we. If we want to make a move on Anchista. I. I'm wondering if we should do that before going after me score. Just in case, because I feel like. [01:50:02] Speaker C: This is your problem. [01:50:04] Speaker G: I don't know. I'm just. I. I'm just thinking out loud. If she's not like. If she's the muscle behind that's supposed to be used after all the veils are pierced to kind of like, you know, take life after the Bloodied One arrives. I think it would be better to. If we pierce the fifth Veil accidentally, I feel like there's a greater chance of that happening. I feel like Eunsoon would be a great prize. [01:50:38] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:50:39] Speaker G: For that to happen. [01:50:40] Speaker E: Very easy pause. If the fifth veil is pierced, this world is kindling. [01:50:47] Speaker A: It. It seems like it. I mean, just to me, it seems like. I mean, obviously you. You have been watching this so closely for. For centuries. But to me, it seems like this is another trap. It. [01:51:05] Speaker E: It seems like we imagine it is, but we're also not sure how else to presume. And we have been patient organization before, whose patience led us to a paralysis that permitted the circumstances in which we find ourselves. We are an organization obsessed with information and understanding. [01:51:25] Speaker C: And I don't mean to cut you short. [01:51:26] Speaker E: Greta, please, please. We respect your insight here. You are. Well, quite frankly, Greta, you're older than I am, and you have seen quite a bit. And you are the high priestess here of the Goddess of Knowledge. Not I. But we were the ones so hesitant to act that we permitted Oogway to rise until she was sufficient to be a sacrifice. We were the ones who said that the Kefkan Empire was a purely political endeavor. It and I would like to point out that it was Boz who suggested more than a year ago that they perhaps played some role in all of this which we considered at the time but found no further evidence and moved on from it is entirely possible this is a trap. But to sit by would be to wait for apocalypse. [01:52:16] Speaker B: I agree. One thought I have is the same way that the Emperor waited to become a demigod. Maybe not waited as much as like he wasn't. Until you were. They were there and then he became one in that moment. I worry that Shista is an undead right now. But then when we face her the timing will be right for her to do what she needs to do or complete what she's been working on to become living. And that if we get into that situation there's nothing we can do except try to attack her. And I think it would be smart to have a backup plan of a. Maybe a pocket dimension we could put her in or something or. Because I think that we should kill her. She's undead, but it. They. They're probably going to try and pull the same thing that they did. [01:53:14] Speaker A: Yeah, I. I think if. If Zorgrim has the power to make her undead, he'll do it whenever is most convenient. [01:53:24] Speaker E: And that's whenever understand how he would have that ability. To our knowledge, no being in all the realms can convert undeath to life. But again, this is fully a possibility. We're just not aware of how it might function or that it exists. So again, you could be right. We want to be very clear, even if it's a bit humbling. And I don't mean this as a rebuff to any of what you're saying. She takes a heartbeat looking at her water for a second and she says, if we didn't need a laundroma six other places she. The more diplomatic one would be here with you. Please forgive me. I think, as you all remember, I'm not the most eloquent of my cohort. We are trying to come up with a solution. And we do not want our desperation to push us to ignore these concerns. They are concerns we have as well. But we cannot fathom that waiting is the solution either of these two times. I'm sorry, boss. [01:54:33] Speaker G: It's the best of the tower. [01:54:37] Speaker E: I'm sorry, Landon, one more time. I just didn't hear you. [01:54:39] Speaker G: Does Shista ever leave the tower? [01:54:43] Speaker C: No, not that. [01:54:45] Speaker G: All the time. Has there ever been something that's pulled her away from it that's like, gotten her out of the tower or like that she has left to go do or look or gloat or. I don't know anything. [01:54:55] Speaker E: Not yet. [01:54:55] Speaker G: Like the day she died, she hasn't. [01:54:57] Speaker E: Left, as we understand. We believe she's actually entombed there in stone. [01:55:05] Speaker F: Okay. [01:55:09] Speaker A: Interesting. [01:55:12] Speaker B: Okay, maybe I'm having a count moment. [01:55:15] Speaker G: Do we need to this a hand solo type situation? Carbonite. [01:55:21] Speaker B: Yeah. Is this. We need to kill the heart after we. The body. Like if we go after Shista and do attack her and try to kill her as her being an undead, do we need her body or something like that to keep her from coming back? [01:55:41] Speaker D: Salt and burn. [01:55:42] Speaker E: We are working on a solution. We don't mean to topple Shista. We mean to destroy Black Fang. In every one of these rituals there has been a physical structure sufficient to conduct the power upward. [01:56:00] Speaker C: A So a focal point for the. [01:56:03] Speaker E: Energy, if you will. We mean to destroy the tower and bring it down. [01:56:07] Speaker A: What happens. What happens if we destroy the tower and don't kill Shista? I mean, obviously they just build another tower at some point. [01:56:16] Speaker E: We mean to bring the tower down on her Ash. [01:56:20] Speaker A: Do we need to. Is it smarter to kill to bring the tower down and then kill her that way if she does end up being a. The. A sufficient sacrifice. There's no way for the. Or would it just do it anyway? [01:56:35] Speaker E: It. This is all very possible. And we encourage you to consider these thoughts as we convene at a later time. Again, I don't mean the. This is an excuse. We have been. This has been hard. And we are pulled in many different directions. At this time. We have many more to whom we are beholden to answer in many. [01:57:06] Speaker G: What about that spell in the Osmodre. [01:57:08] Speaker E: Calamity that we imagine that destroying her in a certain order may have value. We also imagine she will be quite hard to destroy. Yeah, she seems the greatest of all of Zorgrim's forces. And again, we do not mean to march on Blackfang with you all and us. We are rallying many allies and. I'm sorry, Boz, you had a point. [01:57:35] Speaker G: What about that spell in the Osmond trick? Osmond Drake on calamity. [01:57:40] Speaker E: Well, like to take down Black in specific, Boz. You all have had far more exposure to the Osmadreacon than we have. We know that our ally Kanje has been working to copy them into print that they may be distributed to allies such as us. But she is still in this process and we have not been able to witness such specifics yet. [01:57:56] Speaker G: Well, here, I'll pull it out. And I'll show her the book. Or if Ro has it. [01:58:00] Speaker D: Yeah, I have it. I. I'll pull it. Landon, is it in? Which volume is it in? I pull it doesn't matter. I pull out the right volume and give it to her. Because we have. [01:58:13] Speaker C: And that's a moment of growth. [01:58:15] Speaker D: Yeah, we have. We have both volumes. And so whichever one it's in, I give it to her. [01:58:19] Speaker C: Rose, you pull it out. This is such a dower and serious moment, but you pull it out. And as you show it to her, you watch as. As Court just sort of like fangirls for just a second, like cosmodrea con. And as she very carefully opens the text and moves through the passages, copies. [01:58:38] Speaker D: The ones we have because we gave the original. [01:58:40] Speaker C: Still. [01:58:41] Speaker A: Okay. [01:58:42] Speaker C: And still she carefully thumbs through the pages and reaches the points. You hear her mutter under her breath something about what an unparalleled talent Kanager is. And as she reaches the chapter, she begins reading. And she pours over it carefully for about 10 minutes. It's awkward. Just quiet. You guys will sit. Sit there eating. At some point, Sprig goes, I see. [01:59:00] Speaker F: Now how I can be helpful. [01:59:01] Speaker C: And he's bringing over more like biscuits for people to eat while you guys talk. And at some point, he just squeezes Craig's arm and he goes, I'm still your captain. And he heats up. He heats up some milk for, like, Craig to drink, because he knows that Craig likes that in lieu of alcohol. And at some point, after reading for. [01:59:21] Speaker E: Quite some time, Quart says, Well, this would be quite a resource. This could be sufficient to accomplish our task. The issue is that, well, two, as we understand it, and I do mean as we understand it clearly, there is much we do not grasp. Until the five lords are fallen, nothing can touch Blackfang. They form an incredibly powerful barrier, and all destruction we would unleash would first be spent upon them and would need to be unleashed twice. Fold though, this is an incredible magic. Perhaps would you rather just get past lines? [02:00:08] Speaker G: Would you prefer to use them on the five, or would you prefer to save it for Shista? Like, that's the question. [02:00:14] Speaker E: Both of these are an incredible resource. The second problem is, and I'm going. [02:00:19] Speaker C: To attempt to put this in lower terms, that moves past the mechanics. She says, the second issue is that. [02:00:29] Speaker E: This text is describing a level of arcana ability that I, none I'm aware of living in this age possess. [02:00:41] Speaker C: And she's basically saying that's a 10th level spell and there aren't supposed to. [02:00:44] Speaker F: Be any of Those. [02:00:46] Speaker C: So she says. [02:00:48] Speaker E: But this, again, is an example of how the Elder age holds mysteries to many solutions. We're also aware from a historical perspective, that the obsession with power is part of what brought that age to its knees. [02:01:00] Speaker C: And she just. At this point, her. Her facade falls, she runs her hands. [02:01:04] Speaker E: Through her hair, and she goes, you know, fun, guys. It's honestly just good to have someone else stuck in this boat with us. [02:01:12] Speaker A: Looks like we're gonna do the. The best, worst, the best bad idea is what I'm hearing. [02:01:19] Speaker E: We're open to something better. [02:01:22] Speaker B: Yeah, I. [02:01:23] Speaker E: Moving back to the concerns that face you all, which are very legitimate and we want to acknowledge the business with the Hag is your own. I will consult with Amanibus. Your concern, Boz. I truly will. [02:01:36] Speaker C: If she is in any way a. [02:01:38] Speaker E: Possibility, as a conduit of a Veilblade sacrifice, we will look into this. Bringing up your concern, though, Baz, I would have your eye on the Hag Queen. Again, from what we understand, we do not believe Godra Yaga to be a sufficient sacrifice. But far more than Miscor, we would. We would suspect the holder of the Fate Needle, the central stone of Greta's order, to be the most sufficient of any of these individuals. Though even then, we would have our doubts. The Miscor business, we leave to you the business I say, about Magic Lane only being. And we know. We know what it is to ask this as best you can, please consider the innocents around you. But we bring this up only to say, if you have earned the ire of someone who threads Fate, it may, and I do mean may, be prudent to cut that thread before we face what may be the most dangerous enemy in this realm. For I imagine that if Miskor felt so inclined, she could pluck those strings in dire moments. And it may be good to eliminate that threat before facing Shiztha. However, that is in no way an edict, nor do we feel we have the authority to command you in such a way. We only hazard you to consider this threat as it is. It is a danger that has faced our allies before. We have watched before as hags of this realm have chosen particular moments to utilize their gifts from Vishaba to harm our allies. But if you, with your far better knowledge of her, and you, most of all, Archpriestess, as she gestures towards you, Greta, consider with your considerable expertise that this would be unwise. We trust your ruling. We only ask your consideration. [02:03:57] Speaker B: I. I have a question. And I guess I just wanted to kind of y' all have Eyes into places that I have. I have no, you know, comprehension of my. I. I removed my family from Biasta, specifically. [02:04:19] Speaker E: Yes, I recall this. Yes. [02:04:22] Speaker B: Yes. Since the Kefkan Empire is absolutely just on its knees, struggling and mostly gone, is. Is it safe for them to return? I mean, in terms of what we know. Safe to be in this moment. Obviously no one's about to be safe, but I would like them to be able to enjoy time there, if they can. [02:04:57] Speaker C: Alondra has told me of your delightful. [02:05:00] Speaker E: Non sequiturs, and I may have underestimated her in the past. I think you have managed to find what might be some sort of strange positive in all of this. Though I am in no way an expert of biastan politics or microsocio culturalities. This might be a safe time for your family to return, I imagine. Unless what few remnants exist of the empire decide to suddenly relocate themselves into Shkonokov in Biasta. Seems terribly unlikely. This is probably the safest possible time for your family to return. [02:05:39] Speaker B: Okay, that's really good to know. [02:05:42] Speaker E: Should I be referring to you as Sir Dudley? [02:05:47] Speaker B: No, no, please, call me Craig. Appreciate that, though. [02:05:51] Speaker E: Are you aware of your position? [02:05:55] Speaker B: I'm just Craig. [02:05:58] Speaker C: Are you familiar with the Order of the Old Ones? [02:06:02] Speaker B: I'm sure it has some great information. I'm just Craig. [02:06:08] Speaker E: Understood, Craig, enlighten me. [02:06:10] Speaker B: But I will always remember remain Craig. [02:06:12] Speaker E: As the first paladin of the First Flame in three and a half thousand years, you are the first knight again of this order. You are Sir Dudley, historically speaking, but if you prefer I call you Craig, I understand this. [02:06:30] Speaker B: I'll hur. I'll hold the Sir Dudley in my pocket for whenever I need it to get in a cool place. But I'm just. But I didn't know that. So I'm glad that I know that now. Oh, I'm sure it will be. And I'm sure it is. [02:06:49] Speaker C: What you said. [02:06:50] Speaker E: Yeah, jogged my memory of strange silver linings. [02:06:55] Speaker G: It'd be a silly question, but have you tried. Have we tried tried asking the Maker about, like, these two specific things at all or. [02:07:04] Speaker E: Well, none of our order has any specific conduit to him. The Manabus are in every way aware of the gods, and we are ultimately four individual members. Some among us are far more religious than others, but we are ultimately arcane experts of the arts. And. It's you all who have been chosen differently. You are the Druid of the First Flame. She looks to you, Craig. You are paladin of the old Order. She turns to Ro you are speaker of the old song. Janice is the burning sorceress. To our knowledge, you all are the ones most potently ready to hear such a voice. We have attempted to. If I can be quite frank with you, Boz, I'm rather confused on why this purportedly benevolent voice chooses to speak so infrequently with so much danger. But we have attempted to elicit to require of it answers before, and he does not seem interested in speaking when we demand. [02:08:28] Speaker A: He chewed. [02:08:28] Speaker G: He chewed us out like a little bit ago. [02:08:33] Speaker C: Really? [02:08:34] Speaker B: You're so nice to say. [02:08:37] Speaker G: I didn't want to say names. [02:08:43] Speaker E: Well, I don't mean to get into your business, as the kids say, but in what way was this. If you so desire. [02:08:51] Speaker A: He basically. [02:08:52] Speaker B: He basically said, hey, that guy you don't like. Hey, I. I made that. Like him. [02:09:02] Speaker E: I do not. [02:09:06] Speaker B: I think. [02:09:07] Speaker G: I think it was a much more broader focus on how we treat the things of the world and what we to prioritize, I think, is the larger message. [02:09:18] Speaker C: But you guys watch as Court really. [02:09:20] Speaker E: Thinks about that for a second, and then she says, preferable to the bloodied one's perspective at the least, I suppose. [02:09:28] Speaker G: I don't know. I think it's at least asking. [02:09:32] Speaker F: Maybe. [02:09:32] Speaker G: We'll do that. We'll do that. We'll try. We'll let you know if anything. We get anything. [02:09:38] Speaker E: If something comes of a. We would appreciate that we. I would like to say. I want to say I'm sorry. I'm sorry that this is what faces you all. I'm sorry this is what faces me. I'm glad that you and the warriors of the well and other allies we have, which hopefully you will meet soon, are in this altogether. But I'm sorry that you have also inherited this mantle. And thank you for not giving up yet. You all know F. Moon, don't you? [02:10:36] Speaker G: Yes. [02:10:37] Speaker B: I love him. [02:10:39] Speaker D: That's who Craig's family's been staying with. [02:10:42] Speaker B: Why would you say that? [02:10:43] Speaker E: He's an odd dog. [02:10:44] Speaker B: Well, I'm just kidding. I'm just. [02:10:47] Speaker C: Court looks confused for a second and then just continues. [02:10:51] Speaker E: We mean for him also to be a part of the assault now, Lane Fray, if that's of any comfort. [02:11:01] Speaker D: We haven't spoken to them in a while. Are all the warriors of the well. [02:11:07] Speaker E: Alive? [02:11:08] Speaker D: Yeah. [02:11:09] Speaker E: Yes. [02:11:10] Speaker A: Okay. [02:11:14] Speaker E: I speak of how I do not understand this maker, but I frequently believe that successes are attributed to the gods that are very much our own. But as I have said, there is a varying degree of religiousness among all of the members of the Manabus. If it is his doing, I can say that I am truly astounded after every conflict they have faced that all five of them remain alive. It was more than a year ago now that one of their numbers died. As we've said in the past. [02:11:49] Speaker A: Yes. [02:11:51] Speaker E: And there was a barbarian with them. She wouldn't say that word. There was a warrior with them who faced Yepin when they fought with the Holy Hunters who has retired from their group more than two years ago now. But to this date, Ueg, Janus, Xavian, Wi. Woo. I think still saying her name correctly. And Vrangrim all survive. And it's at that time that you. [02:12:20] Speaker C: All hear the fifth name of the. [02:12:22] Speaker E: Warriors of the war of the well for the first time. [02:12:24] Speaker C: And you recall that that name is. [02:12:26] Speaker E: A name. [02:12:28] Speaker C: Like the old dude you guys met on the island. [02:12:31] Speaker D: Yeah. [02:12:31] Speaker G: I say that I don't know him. [02:12:33] Speaker D: Yeah. [02:12:33] Speaker C: I'm like, is that like, nice? [02:12:37] Speaker D: From the island in the middle of the. With the other. With the other old dude. He's old, right? [02:12:47] Speaker E: That'd be a good question for Alandra. [02:12:48] Speaker A: Okay. [02:12:49] Speaker E: I don't. But he's a dwarven fellow. Stocky, big Kefkin tattoo on his shoulder. [02:12:58] Speaker D: Oh, yeah, that's. [02:12:59] Speaker C: Oh, Yep. [02:12:59] Speaker E: That's wrong. [02:13:00] Speaker D: That's him. Yay. [02:13:02] Speaker F: You've met him? [02:13:05] Speaker B: Yeah. [02:13:06] Speaker D: Yes, we met him and he was a very nice man. And we danced. All of us. [02:13:16] Speaker E: Got a look from court and she nods and says, you all are the adventurers. Well, he killed an undead. Yeppen. So. [02:13:28] Speaker A: Wow. [02:13:29] Speaker E: He's really turned things around, I suppose. [02:13:33] Speaker B: Wow. [02:13:35] Speaker E: I'm sure this has been a lot. I understand if you all would like some time. And we're trying to tell you ahead of time both so you have time for any matters you believe you need to take and for preparations you would like to make. We understand what we're asking of you and though we have quite a bit on our plates, we are at your disposal if you would like to talk anywhere in the next two weeks. [02:14:06] Speaker D: I may. Ro gets a look on her face of remembering something. This girl that remembers everything has forgotten something and she remembers it and she goes, I. I need to check into some things, but I think I may be able to possibly find out. [02:14:39] Speaker A: An. [02:14:39] Speaker D: Answer to our questions. But I'll keep you posted. [02:14:47] Speaker E: If you can suddenly do that. That would be quite a boon. [02:14:51] Speaker D: Did you say quite a boon? [02:14:54] Speaker G: Yes. [02:14:55] Speaker D: Sorry. [02:14:57] Speaker E: Okay. Fun guys. If I may be of any further service. [02:15:06] Speaker A: Thank you. [02:15:07] Speaker D: Thank you. [02:15:10] Speaker A: Best of luck. [02:15:10] Speaker E: She looks around quickly and she. [02:15:11] Speaker D: Please keep us updated. Anything Changes. [02:15:15] Speaker E: Oh, we will. We most certainly will also. Well, I imagine, you know, do be careful if you're not already. I imagine you are still some concern to the dogma dawn to Carcharyn's ilk. So if you weren't already aware, but we're sure you are. [02:15:41] Speaker A: Thank you. [02:15:43] Speaker E: Though you have certainly chosen a spot far from the sea. Your home is lovely. [02:15:49] Speaker G: He haunts us. [02:15:51] Speaker D: Yeah. [02:15:52] Speaker G: Every day. [02:15:53] Speaker C: Every day. You all are aware that you have. [02:15:56] Speaker E: Not had a dream in a week. Not that dream. [02:16:03] Speaker F: Apparently. [02:16:04] Speaker C: Ever since Marsh went boom, that's just stopped. [02:16:11] Speaker G: Oh, interesting. [02:16:13] Speaker A: Since what? [02:16:14] Speaker C: Ever since you guys are putting together now, ever since thrarsh went boom, dreams have stopped. [02:16:20] Speaker A: Oh, since the capital went boom. [02:16:24] Speaker G: He was the God of dreams. He died. [02:16:27] Speaker E: No. [02:16:31] Speaker C: But. [02:16:33] Speaker E: Yeah, so it's. [02:16:36] Speaker B: Maybe it wasn't. [02:16:37] Speaker G: May occur maybe it has something perhaps. [02:16:41] Speaker E: To the particularly religious among you. [02:16:42] Speaker C: It may occur that as the veil gets thinner, maybe Carcone's trying to appear on the. [02:16:48] Speaker E: On the radar less. He might be the single most powerful being in this entire realm, but maybe he's trying to make a little less noise right now. [02:16:58] Speaker A: Yeah. [02:17:01] Speaker G: So far. [02:17:05] Speaker E: So Court stands up and she says, your home is lovely. You just turned some scuba. And she says, thank you for the meal. She'll be good. Or else. [02:17:13] Speaker C: Well, you're welcome. [02:17:16] Speaker E: She does. Have a wonderful day. Fun, guys. [02:17:22] Speaker C: She walks back toward the front of. [02:17:24] Speaker E: The house, and she says, I don't want to burn your floors, so I'll step outside. [02:17:28] Speaker D: Thank you. [02:17:29] Speaker C: She opens up the door, walks out in the snow. And you watch after. After her fire disappears and the smoke goes up, you watch as how still no one's out there. All the way up at the gate at the edge of your property is the kid who was, like, waiting there to see something again. And he just goes. And Spaghber walks up to the front. [02:17:48] Speaker F: Door and goes, hi, Have a good day. [02:17:50] Speaker C: And, like, closes the door and you all left. [02:17:54] Speaker A: Greta's gonna walk up to Craig and say, hey. Hey, Craig. Can I. Can I have this stone? I. I would like to make a call. [02:18:02] Speaker D: I would. [02:18:03] Speaker F: Hey, Kalanis, where you at? [02:18:05] Speaker D: I would also like to just cue up something that I'd like to do before the session ends. [02:18:10] Speaker C: Heck yeah. [02:18:10] Speaker A: Okay. Greta's gonna walk outside. [02:18:14] Speaker D: I don't know where this hair came from. [02:18:17] Speaker C: Front porch or back. [02:18:19] Speaker A: Back porch. [02:18:20] Speaker E: Okay. [02:18:21] Speaker A: And she's gonna walk like, a yard or two away from the house. [02:18:26] Speaker C: You. You open the door and the raccoon starts to follow you. It gets to the, like, heat barrier to the outside, and Just goes back around and goes back inside. Oh, that does not want to be an outdoor raccoon. He doesn't. Is not about that life. And. [02:18:42] Speaker A: Well, that's better for the chickens and the farm. [02:18:45] Speaker G: Indoor raccoons don't bite people, though. [02:18:47] Speaker A: He. [02:18:47] Speaker G: He needs to know that. [02:18:50] Speaker A: So Gret is going to walk out, like, a good bit and, like, sit, and she's going to call Nifty, and she's going to say, hey, it's Greta. I just. Just. Are you there. [02:19:13] Speaker E: Every session I go, I'm prepared. [02:19:18] Speaker C: Creta. [02:19:19] Speaker E: You feel the connection. What is. What's Nifty sound like again? Okay, okay. Weird, weird old guy. Weird old guy. And you hear a voice go. [02:19:32] Speaker F: I'm there. [02:19:33] Speaker A: She's. She's going to, like, maybe you're here. Cope and, like, fiddle with it. And she's. I just. I just wanted to talk. Is there a way we could, like, talk face to face? [02:19:54] Speaker F: Sure. You got, like, a boat or. [02:19:58] Speaker A: Nah, that's okay. [02:20:03] Speaker F: What about, like, elbow to elbow? [02:20:05] Speaker A: Yeah, that works. [02:20:08] Speaker F: Okay. [02:20:09] Speaker A: Okay. [02:20:10] Speaker F: You know the elbow spell can. No, I don't either. [02:20:17] Speaker E: Shame. [02:20:19] Speaker F: Hold on, let me look at you. [02:20:27] Speaker E: And a long time passes. [02:20:30] Speaker A: Greta waits. [02:20:32] Speaker E: How long do you wait, Greta? [02:20:37] Speaker A: She would wait, like, he would wait, like, 20 minutes. And then after 20 minutes, she'd start pacing because she's cold. And then she pace for another, like, 40 minutes. [02:20:53] Speaker C: Okay. Okay. So 25. [02:20:55] Speaker A: Yeah. [02:20:56] Speaker C: 25 minutes in, there's a big. From nearby you. And a bunch of this. The snow, like, fluffs up. And when Nifty teleports in, it's like a really big gust of wind. And wherever he lands, you notice there's like, a little bit of, like, bean residue all over the floor just near his feet. [02:21:14] Speaker D: Bean residue is disgusting. [02:21:16] Speaker E: Yes. [02:21:19] Speaker F: I ended up in the wrong place. Magic for half a millennia. Still getting it wrong. [02:21:25] Speaker E: Stupid. [02:21:29] Speaker A: Just right after the last. I just. You cut out right when I said. When you said, like, right. Is the snow. Puff of snow. [02:21:37] Speaker C: Okay, so there was a puff of snow and then like, a circle of bean residue wherever he landed. [02:21:41] Speaker E: And he goes. [02:21:42] Speaker C: Yeah, he goes. [02:21:43] Speaker F: I went to the wrong place. Doing magic for half a millennia and still getting it wrong. [02:21:50] Speaker A: Oh, I just. I run up and I give him, like, a big hug. And he's tall. He's a human, right? [02:21:57] Speaker C: Yeah, he's a short human, but he is much taller than girl. Everybody's taller than you. So you. Yeah, you. You're, like, at his waist and you give him a big hug, and he, like, stops for a moment, but he leans forward and reciprocates the hug. And it's honestly a lot warmer than you were expecting from him. Not like completely emotionally vulnerable, but, like, pretty present. And he gives you a pat on the back. Then he raises up and thumps your head kind of hard with his thumb. Then he goes, let's go inside. [02:22:22] Speaker F: It's cold out here. [02:22:25] Speaker A: I'm from a tropical climate. Could I ask you something? [02:22:27] Speaker F: Totally. [02:22:28] Speaker C: It's cold. [02:22:29] Speaker A: Can I ask. [02:22:30] Speaker C: I'm old. [02:22:31] Speaker A: I'm sorry. [02:22:33] Speaker F: Fine. [02:22:35] Speaker C: He's listening. [02:22:36] Speaker A: I, I. [02:22:39] Speaker C: Hold on, hold on, hold on. Let me get up. [02:22:41] Speaker E: His character sheet. [02:22:42] Speaker C: I didn't know we were going to be doing this. [02:22:46] Speaker E: Where is he? Is he in Miscellaneous Allies? [02:22:50] Speaker D: Can I. [02:22:50] Speaker C: Yes, he is. Yeah. [02:22:53] Speaker D: I love that he's in that folder. I want to know the other folder name. [02:22:58] Speaker C: I'll tell you at the end of the campaign. [02:23:01] Speaker A: Before, Before. Before you have to be in front of everyone. I just want to. I, I want to ask you about something that. Something personal and something hard to talk about. And she, like, gauges. [02:23:19] Speaker E: And he says, yeah, he just, he. [02:23:21] Speaker C: Nods, like, listening, very serious. [02:23:23] Speaker E: And he says, sure, bud. [02:23:26] Speaker F: Give me a second. [02:23:27] Speaker C: And he, he pulls a little cooked bean out of his pocket. [02:23:30] Speaker E: It steams in the snow. [02:23:32] Speaker C: He rubs it on his wrist and mutters a little bit. And he casts floof on him himself. A spell you all have not seen yet. And all over his body, he just goes and grows like 2 inches of thick blue fur all over all of them. [02:23:46] Speaker A: Wow. [02:23:47] Speaker C: It's kind of terrifying. [02:23:48] Speaker F: And he goes, that's better. Okay, talk to him. [02:23:52] Speaker C: And it's hard because now he kind of looks like the blue monster from, from Monsters, Inc. But he's just nodding. [02:24:02] Speaker A: Damn. I want to make sure that I get this right before I ask him. Nifty used to, like, be kind of married to Shista, right? [02:24:10] Speaker C: Yeah, well, yeah, like, yeah, in a common law way. Yeah. They were like. Yeah, they were like lifetime friends and lovers. [02:24:17] Speaker A: Okay, okay. So she. Okay, I, I just. Or we're being asked to do something that I think is a bad idea and that I. I think. But I think it might be the best bad idea. And she kind of like, explains the situation and, and she says, I, I carefully, I hope that you can forgive me for, for, for dragging this out. And she, she starts to get a little teary because. Because I would hate if someone dragged, you know, my lifelong friend into a world conflict and asked me about it. So I hope you can forgive me for that. But I just wanted to know. I just don't want to cause the end of the world. And I think you're. I think you might have the most insight and I know the Manabus is like the smartest people ever, but I just. No, I don't know, I just wanted to get your thoughts. And I'm sorry for. For asking, but I think you're. You're the best person I could ask. [02:25:39] Speaker E: He studies the snow for a little. [02:25:40] Speaker C: Bit in a seriousness you weren't expecting from him and. Or not to say that you weren't expecting. Excuse me, that is uncommon of him. And. [02:25:57] Speaker E: He just ponders for a moment and then he turns back to you with some emotion that wasn't expected and he goes, oh, don't be sorry, chicken nugget. It's all right. It's a valid question. That is tough. [02:26:23] Speaker F: Manibus has got a bad bag. It's a bad job. Nobody should have it. I don't know what your right choice is. That's part of the reason I marooned myself on that island. I got tired of being a fellow people needed to make right choices. It's wild I got there. I mean, I specifically made my whole identity around not being act to make right choices. The responsibility came and found me eventually. Her name was Shista. [02:27:05] Speaker E: I don't know what your right choice is. I really don't. I promise. [02:27:12] Speaker F: I knew I'd tell you. [02:27:14] Speaker A: Yeah. [02:27:22] Speaker E: The woman I love's been gone a long time. [02:27:30] Speaker F: You know, Greta, I trust a gut. And it's not because a gut's any smarter than a brain. It's not. But when your brain is overwhelmed. [02:27:46] Speaker G: When. [02:27:46] Speaker F: Your brain is so concerned about, oh no, that dragon's gonna eat my kids and I haven't paid the taxes yet, your gut stays focused. Your brain can forget how good a being is, but your gut always wants one. I mean that both very deeply and very shallowly. I trust a gut. [02:28:12] Speaker E: Yeah. [02:28:14] Speaker F: And Greta, I trust your gut. Which is wild because I don't know you. You could secretly be very stupid. I mean, I've been watching you a while and I've had a couple good conversations with you, but I don't know you like that. But I trust your gut. My gut trusts your gut. [02:28:33] Speaker E: You know. [02:28:36] Speaker F: If your gut's telling you you should do this, could be the. [02:28:42] Speaker E: End of the world. [02:28:43] Speaker F: Who's gonna judge you after if your guts telling you you shouldn't? Well, maybe check with your spleen, but do what you feels right. But as for checking with me, Kiddo, I just happen to still be here because I got exposed to some magics a long time ago that won't let me. And then I feel like punching the ticket out early is wrong. So I'm just still around. If you gotta do what you gotta do, don't keep from doing it on my account. I loved her, but she hasn't been around for a long time. [02:29:35] Speaker E: And I'm still here. Just a couple of guts in the snow. [02:29:45] Speaker A: Yeah, well, if I die in the end of the world fight, thanks for making magic magical again. And thanks for being so silly. And thanks for teleporting all the way here. [02:30:05] Speaker F: What'd you say? The first thing. [02:30:09] Speaker A: Thanks for making magic magical again. [02:30:19] Speaker F: I didn't know you felt that way, Greta. [02:30:23] Speaker A: Yeah. [02:30:34] Speaker C: He just looks up for a. [02:30:36] Speaker E: Second, weirdly seems to think. And he looks back at you and he goes. [02:30:45] Speaker F: All right, can I give you a little bit of advice? [02:30:49] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. I'd be crazy if I said they never. [02:30:53] Speaker F: They never tell you when you're headed into your big, oh, it's the end of the world. [02:30:57] Speaker C: And you know what? [02:30:58] Speaker F: Let this encourage you. I've been in two end of the world fights, and it didn't end yet, but it was. I'm not gonna lie, it was really bad. Don't. [02:31:07] Speaker E: Don't lean on that one too hard. [02:31:08] Speaker F: But when you have the end of the world fight coming, they tell you to prepare. They tell you to think. You know what they don't tell you? Have a good breakfast. Have a good breakfast and take a dump. And listen to me. I'm not just being a goober. [02:31:24] Speaker C: Listen. [02:31:27] Speaker F: Have a good breakfast because you might die. So eat your favorite thing. Something horrible is going to happen to you. You're going to blow up, burn to death. So cares if you throw up in the middle of the fight. If you want pancakes, eat them. It could be your last meal. Eat what you want. Yeah, nutritious, but eat what you want. And then second, go to the bathroom. I mean, that's because you think you're fine, and then you see some horrible mind melting reality, and then you poop yourself, and then you're facing a terrible reality and you've crapped yourself. And that sounds like a joke, but I mean it. It's a terrible feeling and it throws off your game and you're not ready. Eat poop, then fight. That is a good lesson. [02:32:17] Speaker A: Okay. Yeah. [02:32:18] Speaker F: Eat poop, Fight. [02:32:20] Speaker A: Eat poop. Fight. You should put it. You should put that on a sign or something. [02:32:27] Speaker F: You know, I should put that on a sign and put it on the front of my island. And that'll attract the right kind of people and repel the wrong kind. [02:32:36] Speaker A: Yeah, you're smart. [02:32:38] Speaker C: Small Star. [02:32:39] Speaker F: They should call you Big Star. [02:32:43] Speaker A: Yeah. I'll look into a new. [02:32:46] Speaker F: I like you too, Greta. [02:32:48] Speaker A: Oh, well, I'm glad. [02:32:53] Speaker C: I feel less lonely when I'm around you. [02:32:55] Speaker F: Oh, well, anytime you want to visit my island, you come. [02:33:01] Speaker A: Okay. [02:33:03] Speaker F: Maybe I'll make you something that lets you bloop over there. [02:33:06] Speaker G: We'll talk. [02:33:06] Speaker A: Yeah, that would be awesome. Yeah. Well, I've always got your telescope in my pocket, so. [02:33:13] Speaker F: Okay. Do I say your friend Craig sticking his head out the window. Is that what you. [02:33:23] Speaker B: How old is Nifty? Like, how old does he look? [02:33:27] Speaker G: Old. [02:33:28] Speaker D: She's shipping. [02:33:31] Speaker E: Yeah. [02:33:31] Speaker B: How old is Greta? [02:33:33] Speaker D: Old. [02:33:34] Speaker A: Not. [02:33:34] Speaker C: Not as old as Nifty, but old. Okay, is Craig popping his head out the door? [02:33:43] Speaker B: No, he has his, like, head plastered through a window. [02:33:47] Speaker C: Like, he points at you and he. [02:33:50] Speaker F: Goes, I forgot about him. [02:33:52] Speaker C: And when he points, he whispers. Craig, could you make a constitution saving throw? [02:33:55] Speaker D: No. [02:33:56] Speaker A: No. [02:34:10] Speaker C: Oh, I have so many good options. Hold on. I've got a lot of good options here. [02:34:16] Speaker E: Morgus board. [02:34:17] Speaker C: Yeah, let me figure out which one I'm doing. Oh, guys, it's so many good. I could go with a classic, or. [02:34:24] Speaker E: I could get funky. [02:34:25] Speaker C: Let's go with a classic. Let's go with a classic. Let's go with the classic. Okay, let's go with. Oh, my goodness. [02:34:35] Speaker E: Guys, is. [02:34:36] Speaker C: Is Polymorphs a wisdom saving throw? [02:34:39] Speaker E: Oh, no. [02:34:40] Speaker D: Yeah, Right? [02:34:40] Speaker A: It is. [02:34:41] Speaker C: Yeah, we'll go with a classic. I feel like it is, because I remember every single time I hear that, I go, that makes absolutely no sense. How is not changing your body something to do with your brain? [02:34:54] Speaker F: Right. [02:34:56] Speaker C: Okay, so, Craig, wisdom saving throw. [02:34:59] Speaker B: 19. [02:35:01] Speaker C: Hey, that is really good. [02:35:04] Speaker E: Does it beat Nifty's DC? [02:35:07] Speaker D: Oh, but Nifty's really old, so that's great, though. [02:35:11] Speaker C: That was a really good role. So Craig's there's plastered at the window, and then he's a chicken. [02:35:17] Speaker B: No. [02:35:19] Speaker D: Oh, my gosh. The raccoon in the house. [02:35:22] Speaker C: The raccoon goes. And Craig. [02:35:27] Speaker E: The raccoon's got a look on his face. [02:35:31] Speaker A: Craig. [02:35:33] Speaker B: Is smart enough to know to. [02:35:38] Speaker G: Craig is a chicken. Smart enough to know. [02:35:41] Speaker C: Very importantly, Micah, this is not wild shape. This is Polymorph. You have the intel. [02:35:45] Speaker A: You. [02:35:45] Speaker C: You are a chicken, and you're watching Craig. Craig. [02:35:54] Speaker B: Goes like. Like, goes onto the table to begin, and then on to Goober's head. [02:36:02] Speaker C: And Goober goes like. Like, you jump. You fly up on the Table's like. He looks at the cracker now. [02:36:09] Speaker F: Now goes, okay, all right, this is a good start. [02:36:13] Speaker C: And then the raccoon jug lunges at the table, and Goober lunges at the raccoon and then backed outside. What's Ro doing? [02:36:24] Speaker D: You mean Greta? [02:36:25] Speaker C: Or back to Greta? [02:36:26] Speaker D: Well, do you need to go back to you right now, Greta? [02:36:29] Speaker A: Well, I. Can I just offer, like. [02:36:31] Speaker C: Yes. [02:36:31] Speaker A: I, like, give nifty a pat on the shoulder and I say, do you want to come inside now? [02:36:38] Speaker F: No, I'm fuzzy now. But I'll tell you what, give me a ring. Greta. Give me a ring before you go to. [02:36:46] Speaker E: Are they frozen again? [02:36:48] Speaker D: Oh, no, I think they are. [02:36:50] Speaker C: They are. [02:36:50] Speaker E: They're frozen. [02:36:52] Speaker F: Landon. [02:36:52] Speaker C: I like the thicker beard. [02:36:53] Speaker E: It's a good look. [02:36:56] Speaker C: Makes you look like a gigachad. [02:36:58] Speaker E: Like you have a gigantic chin. [02:37:00] Speaker G: Well, nobody has to be. [02:37:05] Speaker C: Can you hear us now, Abby? [02:37:06] Speaker A: Yeah, sorry. [02:37:08] Speaker C: Yeah, he just goes. [02:37:09] Speaker E: He goes. [02:37:10] Speaker F: I'm all fuzzy, so I should probably go. But I'll tell you what. Before the end of the world, give me a ring. Let's hang out sometime, okay? Let's hang out some evening when you just want to have a good time. [02:37:22] Speaker C: And I'll throw all sorts of weird. [02:37:23] Speaker F: Magic around and we'll just have fun. [02:37:25] Speaker A: Ah, yeah. [02:37:27] Speaker C: And then we'll have a great breakfast. [02:37:30] Speaker F: We could turn Craig into, like, five different things. [02:37:35] Speaker A: So the night before the end of the world, we'll hang out, and then we'll make a good breakfast. Then I'll poop, and then I'll fight. [02:37:41] Speaker F: You're getting it, kid. [02:37:43] Speaker A: Okay. Okay. Yeah, I'll call you. All right. [02:37:46] Speaker F: He give. [02:37:47] Speaker C: He holds up a hand and he goes, old farts. [02:37:50] Speaker A: Old fart. [02:37:52] Speaker C: You high five each other. [02:37:53] Speaker F: And he goes, all right. [02:37:55] Speaker C: And then he just. He, like, walks off a distance more. [02:37:58] Speaker F: And he goes, don't. Don't stand too close to me. [02:38:00] Speaker A: Okay? Okay. She backs away. [02:38:02] Speaker C: He goes like, 200ft out. And then. So lightning bolt just swallows where he is, and he's gone. You've seen him do that before. Well, and there's. You look around the house. The kids made it halfway around the fence, and he's just going. [02:38:15] Speaker D: Poor child is so confused. [02:38:18] Speaker C: No, he looks so excited. And he's looking at you. Greta. [02:38:22] Speaker A: Greta just. She just lays down on the ground and she makes a snow angel for a little bit. And then she just, like, cries for a long time just on her back looking up at the sky. [02:38:33] Speaker C: The kid then looks weird out and leaves. [02:38:35] Speaker F: But yes. [02:38:36] Speaker C: Ro, what is your last thing before. [02:38:38] Speaker E: We Wrap up the session. [02:38:40] Speaker D: It might be like a couple minutes. Is that okay with everyone? I just want to check in. Okay. So when all this, like when court. When Court leaves and everything, I think because Ro got, like, a revelation or something. Is it safe to say that, like, we keep the oven, like, not on top of the thing so that we can go down? [02:39:03] Speaker C: Yes, you guys. [02:39:04] Speaker G: Yeah. [02:39:04] Speaker C: At this point, now that it's in use, you can have used it so you have access. [02:39:08] Speaker D: I think she goes down. [02:39:12] Speaker G: Okay. [02:39:13] Speaker D: Like, pretty far. All the way down if she can to, like the pond. I don't know how. If that takes a long time. [02:39:20] Speaker C: But Ro, you're halfway down the passage, and suddenly you hear, like, a really violent ruckus upstairs, like somebody wrestling with. [02:39:28] Speaker E: A raccoon and a chicken. [02:39:29] Speaker C: But you keep going. [02:39:30] Speaker A: Okay. [02:39:31] Speaker C: You make your way past that, like, carved room, then through the narrow tunnel. Then. [02:39:36] Speaker E: I need to pick a different song. No, let's go with this one. [02:39:41] Speaker C: Then past the first chamber and the second that are rounded and large. And you go past that really long switchback that goes down that huge trail. And eventually the cavern. You've walked hundreds and hundreds of feet now. And eventually the cavern widens up into that massive subterranean chamber with its pillars. [02:40:00] Speaker E: And that cool pool of still water. [02:40:04] Speaker D: She's gonna sit down. She has soul mender her loot. [02:40:09] Speaker E: Okay. [02:40:09] Speaker D: And for a long minute, she just sits there kind of tracing the maker symbol because she remembered that when she received was well blessed. And three of those charges are for mass healing on. And she forgot about that. When any. As a reaction. When this is just for you. As a reaction when anyone casts a healing spell during combat. But the other two, she remembered. And these go away. They just go away after she uses them. Is commune with. [02:40:58] Speaker E: I was really wrapping up the session. [02:41:01] Speaker D: I'm so sorry. [02:41:02] Speaker F: On it. [02:41:02] Speaker E: And then. [02:41:03] Speaker C: That was cute. [02:41:05] Speaker D: I just. And so she's going to sit there. [02:41:10] Speaker A: And. [02:41:13] Speaker D: She'S gonna play. She's just gonna kind of strum. I don't even know what it is. She just kind of strums. And it's like. It sounds like is much like the old song music that she's played before, like when she played it. And it's like very almost like, haunting. [02:41:32] Speaker C: You're casting commune? [02:41:33] Speaker D: Yes, Yes, I am. If that's okay. And that. [02:41:44] Speaker C: Holy crap. [02:41:45] Speaker D: That's to the maker. Correct. Because usually it's a cleric with the maker. Yeah, that's what I thought. Okay. And it's, I believe, three questions. Questions, yes or no. [02:42:00] Speaker F: All right. [02:42:04] Speaker E: You might receive an Unclear answer. [02:42:08] Speaker C: In a case where a one word answer would be misleading or contrary, the DM might offer a short phrase or answer. All right, Sorry. Okay, Ro. As you go and you sit there in the cavern and you begin playing your root, your lute and pattern, you watch as. [02:42:33] Speaker E: As you start playing the overlaying tunes, you realize that every single time, you. [02:42:40] Speaker C: Feel like a kind of a rhythm. [02:42:42] Speaker E: A vibration in the cavern. [02:42:43] Speaker C: And you feel like it's just your music before you stop and realize that. [02:42:47] Speaker E: Every single time, you are plucking these chords so gently, it's like the whole cavern is shaking very slightly. [02:42:53] Speaker C: And you watch as the vibrations pick up on the water and begin dappling. [02:42:58] Speaker E: Back and forth along the pillars. [02:43:00] Speaker C: And it looks cacophonous at first, before you start realizing that after a moment of playing, they are like. And it's like, you know how people in, you know, with modern instruments can play into, like a recording and then like layer song over song over song over song. [02:43:13] Speaker E: It's like as you're playing magically, each. [02:43:15] Speaker C: Tune you're making is picking up over. [02:43:16] Speaker E: The walls and relaying. [02:43:18] Speaker C: And then what? [02:43:18] Speaker E: And then relaying and then relaying until. [02:43:20] Speaker C: You'Re playing, making a more and more and more complicated tune. [02:43:23] Speaker E: And you find that the time to start drawing your tune to a rhythmic similarity is as the ripples over the water are starting to make repeating symbols of the Maker across the pillars of the water. And those really thin ribbon eels begin. [02:43:37] Speaker C: Working their way out of the water. [02:43:38] Speaker E: And begin swimming in really abstract looping patterns that are like multiple of those circles moving around each other. [02:43:45] Speaker C: And as they do, going full Avatar state here, the eels begin glowing and lighting up a quality you did not. [02:43:56] Speaker E: See as a part of their physiology previously. And you begin lifting off of the floor as you play. [02:44:05] Speaker D: Oh, crap. [02:44:06] Speaker E: And as you begin playing, you feel your fingers drift off of your lute. [02:44:12] Speaker C: And you feel like you're starting to. [02:44:13] Speaker E: Your head's starting to grow fuzzy and you're starting to lose consciousness. [02:44:15] Speaker C: And even though you've quit playing Soul. [02:44:17] Speaker E: Mender, the music keeps playing. And then you just fall backwards, unconscious. And before, right before you lose consciousness. [02:44:27] Speaker C: As your head's about to strike stone, you instead keep falling, keep rotating, until. [02:44:31] Speaker E: You rise up and you find yourself flooded, floating alone in a vast, empty expanse of dark blackness with incredible constellations and bands of cosmic color all around a place you've been before. [02:44:52] Speaker C: And as you find yourself in this. [02:44:53] Speaker E: Place outside of time, you hear a voice say, I've waited to hear from you, Ra. [02:45:09] Speaker D: Sorry. It Took me so long. [02:45:13] Speaker E: An apology is not what I was looking for. I know you've come with questions, but as I've told you before, I would just like you near. Please ask. [02:45:35] Speaker D: Um, and okay. I want to word these like, I know you're not gonna, like, no, like, mess me up. Well, you didn't say this exact, but. [02:45:48] Speaker C: Technically you didn't need that comment. [02:45:52] Speaker D: So. She asks. [02:45:57] Speaker B: Is. [02:46:03] Speaker D: Is. Is defeating Shista the key to the last veiled blade for him, the bloodied one? [02:46:28] Speaker E: You hear an unexpected sombre somberness in the voice, like almost as if it's lamenting a little. And he says. [02:46:39] Speaker G: No. [02:46:44] Speaker C: And actually, to make sure that I understand your question. [02:46:45] Speaker A: Yeah. [02:46:46] Speaker C: You are saying is killing shifts the now as an undead going to be a veil blade. [02:46:51] Speaker D: Yeah, exactly. [02:46:52] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. [02:46:53] Speaker E: The voice answers back with somberness and just says no. [02:47:02] Speaker D: Is it even possible to stop the last veil from being broken? [02:47:12] Speaker C: Again, a pause and. [02:47:16] Speaker E: An unexpected, like, sadness. Lament is not something you've heard from this voice thus far. But as this ancient voice speaks, he says yes. [02:47:50] Speaker D: Haven't figured out how to word it. Do we already know. The person or thing that will trigger the last veil to be broken? [02:48:27] Speaker E: The third response. In the voice is the heaviest of the three. As if the maker is feeling, you hear empathy and sadness as he says yes. [02:49:02] Speaker D: Okay. [02:49:06] Speaker E: Bro. No one can take you from me. Not in life and not in death. There's no fire, no blood they can bathe you in that could wash you out of me whenever you go to face. And with you I couldn't be closer. I always have been. So many things are asked of you now. I tell you, lay your weapons down. Come and rest with me. No matter what lies ahead of you, you will always be mine. And in any outcome, whether today or tomorrow, precious to me is the death of my faithful ones. There is no door you can walk through where I cannot grow closer. I don't need you to bear this all alone. I don't need any of you to do it. I love you, Rowan. And all the colors and the stars sort of mix together. And as the black swirls with the color. Bro, you just find yourself. Waking up on the floor. [02:51:37] Speaker C: As Michael physically wakes up. I'm sorry. Sorry. [02:51:42] Speaker E: Sorry. [02:51:42] Speaker C: Emotionally resonant scene. Sorry. [02:51:44] Speaker B: That was okay. [02:51:51] Speaker D: That was a beautiful picture. That was amazing, Micah. [02:51:55] Speaker C: So sorry, listener. We swear we're not trying to diffuse meaning with humor. That was just amazing. Ro woke up in the game, and then Micah woke up in real life. [02:52:05] Speaker E: That was in a quite incredible. [02:52:07] Speaker B: Isn't that like the second time something like that happened. [02:52:11] Speaker C: Yeah. [02:52:15] Speaker E: And I think on that excellent note. [02:52:18] Speaker C: That sounds like a very good time to end our session for my note taking nerds. Hold on. Well, actually, for everybody. [02:52:28] Speaker E: Let me open up. Give me one second. [02:52:31] Speaker F: Sorry. [02:52:33] Speaker C: Okay, you guys gain 0.04 for the. [02:52:37] Speaker E: Two sessions, and then. Yeah, I'm gonna call that. [02:52:43] Speaker C: A lot happened there. I'm gonna call that 0.09. [02:52:48] Speaker D: You mean 0.094, plus 04, and plus 09 or just 09? [02:52:53] Speaker E: No, no, no, no. [02:52:54] Speaker C: 0.09 is the only thing we're adding on. [02:52:59] Speaker D: Correct. [02:52:59] Speaker C: Because there was a ton of. There was a ton of role play. You all learned about the Kev can call you or fall. You strategized with the man of us. I mean, so many different, important things happened. I'm gonna say that you guys gained. [02:53:11] Speaker E: A ton of XP. [02:53:12] Speaker D: There we are at 14.547. [02:53:17] Speaker C: Dang, guys, you're halfway through level four. You're more than halfway through level 14. [02:53:23] Speaker E: 14.547. [02:53:24] Speaker D: Yes. [02:53:30] Speaker A: Wow. [02:53:32] Speaker C: Okay. [02:53:32] Speaker F: Okay. [02:53:33] Speaker C: Great session. Very different than the first one. Two totally different sessions. [02:53:41] Speaker B: Let's have a third. [02:53:42] Speaker C: Good job, dude. You know, I love you guys at DOD Very much. I'm actually gonna go to bed, but. [02:53:49] Speaker E: Actually, I don't know if I've actually edit the episodes. [02:53:53] Speaker D: I don't know if I've ever heard Micah be the one to be like, go. [02:53:58] Speaker B: That was a complete. Please let me go to bed. [02:54:04] Speaker C: Oh, my goodness. All right. Oh, I just rolled a 33 on a D100. That's a lot of notes, Jackie. Holy crap. [02:54:14] Speaker D: I didn't want to use up another page, and I thought we were almost done, so I just kept adding sticky notes. [02:54:20] Speaker C: Jackie, that's so many notes. Holy crap, dude. Would you take a picture of that. [02:54:25] Speaker E: And send it to me? [02:54:25] Speaker C: I want to put that on. Anyway, listeners, life's an incredible adventure, and we're still on it, dude. We're still in it. We're all in this together. You're an important part of it. [02:54:38] Speaker E: And. [02:54:39] Speaker C: Even as we move further toward the. [02:54:41] Speaker E: End of this one, we are. Well, it's an incredible adventure. [02:54:48] Speaker C: We look forward to seeing you all next time. [02:54:50] Speaker A: You're an important part of it. [02:54:53] Speaker C: Yes, I did say that, but I'll say that again. You're an important part of it, but. [02:54:57] Speaker F: Hey, hey, Abby. [02:54:58] Speaker C: I like that you. I like that you stick up for the listener like that. Abby's on your side, listener. Abby's on your. She believes you're an important part of it, and she's in it with you. [02:55:08] Speaker A: It really is. You really are. [02:55:11] Speaker E: It really is. And you really are. That's true. Skibidi, Wab and Dada. We'll see you next time.
