Episode Transcript
[00:00:01] Speaker A: Welcome back to Barely D and D, everyone. This is another.
This is another.
We're back.
I started and then I was like. I do remember that I just did one at the last session.
Anyway, can we do a question with a. I love questions.
[00:00:26] Speaker B: Sure, yeah. We can do a letter to a question.
No. Are you familiar with these? Yes. Okay, don't. Oh, wait, you listen. Duh. That was so stupid. She called me.
Yeah, we don't have to talk about it, but does anyone have a good letter to question?
Oh, I've got one. I've got one. Hold on. I'm gonna sneeze. Quick. Someone say something.
Oh, no, it's really cooking.
Okay, listener, you can only get this year.
So if.
If your.
If your character were the. The primary parental figure for.
For the dragon siblings, what would their, like, affectionate nicknames for them as, like, childlike figures be? Does that make sense? So, like, what would they. Like, we know that, like, Ravenna has zer for Xerus. Right? But you know how people call kids, like, champ, winner, buddy? What would you guys call the Max of Dragon Youth? And do you want a DMNPC or no?
[00:01:24] Speaker A: I'm pretty sure that I have neighbors.
[00:01:27] Speaker B: Okay, I will definitely try.
Okay. And.
Gotcha.
[00:01:34] Speaker A: But that guy loves to run his engine. Whoever's out there, if you're listening. Yeah, I hear you.
[00:01:38] Speaker B: Okay, understood. But we can try. We can try. Do you want a DMNPC or no?
[00:01:42] Speaker A: Yeah, okay, Captain Williams.
[00:01:45] Speaker B: Okay, Shaky Jim it is.
Let's.
You can go. Is there.
Okay, okay. Sorry. We always do this. Let's pick something fair.
Somebody wearing a smart watch.
Oh, dang it, Jekyll.
[00:02:03] Speaker A: He always picks me.
[00:02:04] Speaker B: No, I don't. I pick a random quality every.
[00:02:08] Speaker A: Yeah, he does. Whoever has the colored hair, whoever has a yellow wall, who's ever the shortest jiggle.
[00:02:13] Speaker B: I. I pick up different things every time.
It's so deeply fair. So anyway, you had the smartwatch on. What was yours?
[00:02:23] Speaker A: Mine would be probably like, like, spider. Like. Okay. Fighter.
[00:02:31] Speaker B: Okay, okay, okay. Slugger.
Bruiser.
[00:02:35] Speaker A: Not bad. Fighter.
[00:02:36] Speaker B: Fighter.
[00:02:37] Speaker A: Okay. Fighter Pilot. Hey, little fighter.
[00:02:40] Speaker B: Gotcha.
[00:02:41] Speaker A: Yeah, so that's what it would be. But I think also. I think also Zary and Fairy.
[00:02:47] Speaker B: I like it. That's kind of cute, actually.
[00:02:49] Speaker A: Does anyone want cheesesteaks?
[00:02:50] Speaker B: Zeri the Platypus.
No, I really don't.
[00:02:53] Speaker A: She has, like, four cheese sticks in her lap.
[00:02:56] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:02:56] Speaker A: It's okay.
[00:02:56] Speaker B: Oh, you want me to eat the bad ones, right?
[00:02:58] Speaker A: It's okay.
She wants you to eat the bad ones. Yeah, there's ones that taste bad that she doesn't want to eat. So she wants us to eat those or y'?
[00:03:06] Speaker B: All. Because I don't want cheese.
Noah, what would. What would. What would Nectuns be?
I did probably, like. It's a new character. Shiner and Sky. Shiner for the Black and. Yeah. Oh, black and blue bruise. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then sky for the.
That's cute. Yeah. Shiner and Sky. That's cute. Yeah.
[00:03:34] Speaker A: I think I like Zaren Fair.
[00:03:38] Speaker B: I like it.
[00:03:38] Speaker A: Probably what Ravina does, but I also like.
[00:03:42] Speaker B: They're there.
Sorry.
[00:03:44] Speaker A: But I also feel like she would just call them, like, bub.
[00:03:48] Speaker B: Hey, bub.
[00:03:49] Speaker A: No, but like, hey, there, bub. How you doing?
You know, I. I call Diggle that a lot. My dog. I'll be like, hey, Bub.
[00:03:57] Speaker B: You know, I call my co workers Diggle.
I think Shaky Jim's nickname for the twins or for the dragons would probably be.
Probably.
Are we ready to get started? Well, that's not fair to him. No. Okay.
He'd probably call them.
I don't.
Okay, listener. They're really dancing, and it's not good, but it is enthusiastic.
So. And we're gonna start the session, but we were learning about. About.
About homologous structures and evidence for evolution for biology research.
And we were talking about how whales have vestigial hips. Whales have hip bones from their ancestors that had, like, limbs and all that. And so in class, I was like, you know, the whales have these vestigial hip bones. And all the students are like, okay. And I go. And I go. So unlike Shakira, these hips do lie.
Students lost their minds. They loved it. Especially the female students thought it was so funny. That's good. I think we call those girls, so.
I don't know why I said it like that.
All right, let's get started.
So we left off with.
Yes. Sorry. Sorry. Well, there's no different title. This is just the. The second part of Impractical.
Okay. This is the second part of impractical jokes. Really? No other difference? Same, same.
And dang it, I'm gonna sneeze again. Someone say something entertaining. What did I say?
Bless you. That was very ill.
Okay, okay. So.
This is a really unhinged session.
We are coming.
We're coming back. I'm gonna sneeze again. We're coming.
[00:06:06] Speaker A: Stop it. Get some help.
[00:06:10] Speaker B: We're coming back in with the courageous corps. I'm sneeze at some point, so just bear with me until I do. The courageous core is they're gathered in front of the Pink door. And the dominate person has just worn off squinting really hard right now on.
On nekten and oh sneezer don't. And the non inversion is just going off and the magic mouth is still going.
I got stuck.
So that's a really intense feeling. So every 20 or 30 seconds it's still going.
Hope your cleverness holds. I can't do the voice.
Yeah, that sounded good.
And. And you guys are in front of the door and that's where you are. What is the party doing? Oh, I'm gonna go blow my nose. What's the party doing? I just recovered from. Yes. Making an absolute fool of myself.
And I have successfully weirded out.
Can I. Not intimidated but weirded out.
Zeras.
I think I'm just picking up the rags.
[00:07:21] Speaker A: I'm patting theirs. But like.
[00:07:27] Speaker B: The best comparison I'm going to make is it truly is like when you stress out a cat. Like it's like when. It's like when a like a big cat gets afraid of like a small noise because they didn't recognize it. It's such a good analogy. He's slowly recovering his demeanor, steeling himself again, remembering he's a half ton dragon.
But otherwise the group is presented in front of the door.
Can you just grab the door again? Yes, yes. No, I can. It is a seven foot wooden door squared. It is because it's just cave and then door and the door is just set in the stone. Bizarrely it's such an anachronism. It looks so incongruent to its environment.
It's got like some basic like inset relief that looks nice. It's got a metal handle, some like flower carve around it. It's bizarre. It looks like you pulled it straight off of a fancy home and slapped it here. And also weirdly painted the wood pink. Is the truck still there?
As you examine it closely, it looks expended.
Okay.
There's no response.
Thern pipes up and she says you have to use the handle.
She just looks kind of confused like she was being helpful.
If someone else wants to play it, I'll be back here. And as you, you open it up and you all, You all open the door and it opens up to a different place.
This is a long turning sandstone hallway, perfectly carved, maybe 20ft high.
It's dimly lit and the stone is carved into tight stone patterns on the floor that are geometric and repeating. And even the wall every 30ft or so is lit with a.
You two are you two.
You've adventured many different places not that you haven't, Argyle, but you've been mainly focused on pedestrian affairs, right?
Yeah. Yeah, you are. You are. You live in a city, right? You don't. You venture out with Ravena sometimes. But one of us.
One of you is constantly traveling. And then you are used to locations of ill repute, which are often subterranean, need to be lit by alternative methods. You all recognize gem shards of Luminite, a white pale stone that is bleeding light over the surface, but only dimly to light the space. It's also not white. Illuminate always is. This is like a greenish hue, like an emerald green.
Is native to this region.
Oh, would I. You can give me a. Are you proficient in nature? No. Would I? You know what? You had enough of these interactions. Go ahead and give me a nature check.
Are you fishing in nature 7?
[00:10:52] Speaker A: I'm Ravina Green.
That's the only time.
[00:10:56] Speaker B: Go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead.
[00:10:59] Speaker A: Yeah. Agree.
Oh, that's cool.
[00:11:02] Speaker B: Look at that.
Yeah, that's perfectly cocked. Wow. It's cocked up and down.
I've never seen that before.
[00:11:08] Speaker A: Like, wow.
Wow.
[00:11:14] Speaker B: Again, it caulked twice. That's amazing.
I think you need a dice.
That's a great dice.
[00:11:22] Speaker A: 19.
[00:11:25] Speaker B: Well, no, it's. You don't know of it. You know of it coming from more northern areas, but also you just start piecing. Is it native to here?
You don't know where here is. That's true. The temperature. The air has a different humidity. It's a slightly different temperature. It's warmer. This is a different place.
You are moving from this tunnel into somewhere else.
And I mean, you look back, the stone tunnel is very much there. You look ahead. It's this other stone carved hallway which goes around a corner.
[00:11:58] Speaker A: Before we go in, I would like to. I'm like. I step in and I realize, like, that's not where I was. Yeah.
Can I close the door? Like, let go of the handle. Open it again.
[00:12:12] Speaker B: Same sandstone hallway.
Zeras just goes. That's different.
[00:12:20] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah.
[00:12:23] Speaker B: Are you okay, Argyle? Your voice was different there for a second.
[00:12:27] Speaker A: No, that wasn't me.
I'm okay.
He like, kind of hesitantly steps through. Okay.
[00:12:33] Speaker B: Have we ever.
[00:12:36] Speaker A: Because I don't know how far along.
[00:12:37] Speaker B: The opales and tome is not very.
[00:12:39] Speaker A: Okay, so, like, hello, Jay ever shown us any kind of like, little dimension?
[00:12:45] Speaker B: No, that. That won't be made in.
[00:12:47] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:12:48] Speaker B: That won't be made in his lifetime.
[00:12:49] Speaker A: Oh, okay. Okay.
[00:12:50] Speaker B: Yeah. The opalescence home, as you all know it in the campaign does not exist at all right now.
[00:12:54] Speaker A: Also is Kanajay.
[00:12:57] Speaker B: No, she's not born yet. Okay. I didn't think so. I just. I wanted. Yeah. As a whole different. All like the. Were you all to. Were we to go and venture and describe the opalescent tome now, it would be incomparably unrecognizable. The building it is will need to be later torn down and rebuilt as the new building in its same place. It is only just understood. Yeah, it's a whole other.
[00:13:19] Speaker A: So we haven't ever seen any kind of.
[00:13:21] Speaker B: In fact, it's not yet called the opalescent tome.
[00:13:23] Speaker A: Big, like interdimensional.
[00:13:25] Speaker B: Like this is near to you or anything new to you.
[00:13:30] Speaker A: Make an arcana check.
I'm not proficient, but can I make an arcana check to see if I can tell by some means if we are changing location or stepping into like a magical space? Is that even something I'm aware of?
[00:13:47] Speaker B: I. You can. I was going to say you don't need to, but then I did look at your intelligence score. So let's go ahead and make that check.
There's no chance I could take that as well?
[00:13:57] Speaker A: That's a. That's a 16.
[00:13:59] Speaker B: Yeah. Argyle, this is definitely a different place. Some sort of magic is moving you to a new location should you pass the district.
[00:14:05] Speaker A: Okay, but it doesn't seem like it's taking me to like a magical dimension. It's a new place.
[00:14:12] Speaker B: It's certainly not here.
Okay, but you are a non caster, right? And you're not trained in these things.
[00:14:19] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:14:19] Speaker B: Yeah.
Does the party walk through the door or.
[00:14:24] Speaker A: Okay, are there any markings on the wall?
[00:14:27] Speaker B: Well, you pass through the door, the party begins gathering in the space and everyone passes in fairly easily. Zeras truly does need to squeeze, but he makes it through. And at one point he even like his shoulders get kind of caught and he makes this uncomfortable like sound. And he like gets frustrated and he coughs up a little acid like out of frustration. He like kind of bites at the air.
And as he does this little bit of acid on the floor and he goes. Sorry. He like pulls himself through and part of the door frame cracks under his hip weight. But he pushes himself through and as he reaches back, his tail's not opposable, but it's got just a little bit of dexterity in it as he moves through. He just pulls his tail around the door and pulls it close behind him.
And as it closes, you all see this sandstone hallway ahead of you. As you examine the walls, Argyle, you don't make out any markings on the Walls.
Yeah, yeah. No clear markings on the wall.
What is everyone's investigation modifier. Yours is benign, right? Yeah. Okay.
[00:15:37] Speaker A: Six plus six.
[00:15:40] Speaker B: Okay, that's fine. So we have a passive investigation of nine. We have a passive investigation of 16. And holy living crap. At level seven, we have a passive investigation of 17. We'll return to that.
So first of all, you all take a couple strides and through a couple haphazard backward glances of curiosity, you notice the door is gone.
[00:15:58] Speaker A: Oh. Oh, it's there.
[00:15:59] Speaker B: It's wall.
[00:16:01] Speaker A: It's just solid.
[00:16:02] Speaker B: Once the door is closed, it's gone. You're in this place now.
Zeras doesn't notice. He's too busy being relieved by the fact that he very easily fits in this space. It's like 20ft high. The walls are like 20ft wide, almost, maybe even 25. There's a ton of room in here. Again, very open space. And it continues. It just bends in this circular pattern around and it seems to go on for somewhere.
[00:16:28] Speaker A: Okay.
And it's just like a solid, like the same stone.
[00:16:31] Speaker B: But the only other really features of notes is that you have those like geometric shapes that align. Kind of tiled carved. I mean, it's not tile, but it's carved into the sandstone floor. And you must be somewhere very different in the world because no sandstone here. Right. You must be in a very different world.
And then also every so often on the ceilings, those of you with high passive perceptions realize that they're like kind of like metal grates.
Ventilation isn't something you'd be particularly aware of at this time. That's not really something anyone's developing or utilizing. But there is.
It's. It's kind of like a ventilation grate, if simpler, if like a polished iron, circular, maybe like a couple inches between the bars. And they're not awesome. It's like once every like 50ft, if you're walking, there's not light coming through, is there? No, no, they're just. They're like cool and damp. There's a little bit of condensation on them, but not a whole lot else. And the place is quite clean.
[00:17:25] Speaker A: Have I seen sandstone? Where else in the world.
[00:17:34] Speaker B: Without being unhelpful, Perhaps you would have to have gone to some specific places, though. So I don't think at this point in your story, your adventures have taken you to Jozd or Jarsku.
And I think that's the only places you'd find them natively. Now you could, or maybe even some places in the Kistamek, but I don't think you've been there either. So I. You can have it imported somewhere.
[00:17:54] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:17:55] Speaker B: So perchance.
But I don't know that it's something you'd be particularly familiar with.
[00:18:00] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:18:01] Speaker B: Yeah.
I also don't think you would. Both of you all are kind of city dwellers. That makes sense. And, and there, there are cities in Nikistinik, but that's on the other side of the world from y'. All. And Jaws and Jarsku are both pretty wild places.
[00:18:19] Speaker A: Well, so what I'm hearing is that like I have seen this stone before, but only yeah, I see this and I'm like, wow, that's. That's pretty foreign. I've only seen that in like a fancy person's house.
[00:18:29] Speaker B: Exactly. Right. You guys would be like, oh wow. You know what an excellent homology comparison for this would be? This is like when you guys see granite somewhere and you're like, wow, fancy. Meanwhile in Brazil they put it in the concrete in the ground because it's so common. Right. You just mine it out of the ground like, like you mine dirt. And so they literally just throw it in the concrete. It doesn't matter. And then in the US we're like, wow, look at that countertop. Exactly.
I have, I have sat on 20 foot tall piles of grass that we were just mixing into the concrete because it was worthless.
[00:19:02] Speaker A: Okay. So it was beautiful.
[00:19:08] Speaker B: I'm gonna keep going. But crossbow again.
Loaded, pointing, kind of aimed at wherever the wall hides.
Excellent.
As we pissy pass forward.
16. Passive perception.
[00:19:25] Speaker A: Or you mean passive investigation.
[00:19:27] Speaker B: Yes, thank you. Thank you. 16. Passive investigation. You do start to notice the.
The shapes of the floor line up here though.
It's not a uniformly carved floor. The shapes are the same repeating shape, but they lie at different angles.
And the way the floor curves alters their orientation relative to each other. So there's kind of like a flow to the pattern of the shapes in the floor. It's vague and simple. I'm trying to figure out if there's more there, but there's totally a pattern to it.
Oh, I'm so sorry. I passed right over a massive major detail. I'm going to go back to in a second. There is totally a marking on the wall, but I'll go back to that in a moment. That's my thing, continuing to describe what I was going to describe.
Okay, can we backtrack for a second and I'll describe the symbol on the wall but then we'll come right back to this.
So on the wall there is absolutely.
There's A crest, an insignia crest carved into the wall. This is the one that. The wall that appeared in place of the door or the wall. The space. You're now in the sandstone hall, which is just continuing to go. As you're walking, you're not jogging, but at this leisurely pace about every 60 or so feet.
Carved into the wall. Actually kind of not relieved into it, but we call it when it's coming out instead of going in and I'm carving.
Yeah, but there's a word for. Oh, it's in the words. I need to learn my phone as a dm. But it's fine. There's a term for when things are carved and they come out instead of in. But it's fine. I'll read it later and go.
But coming out of the wall as a carving, sculpted out is this like crest, shield.
And then instead of having a really fancy.
[00:21:22] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:21:22] Speaker B: Oh, nice.
[00:21:24] Speaker A: Because I do Photoshop and I was going through my brain.
[00:21:27] Speaker B: No, that's correct.
[00:21:27] Speaker A: Of what you do to make it look out.
[00:21:30] Speaker B: Jiggle booger is the best. Thank you. Embossed.
Embossed. Out of the wall is this like simple pressed shield shape. And not even the kind, not even the kind that rises at the top, dips in and then spades, but simply one single, like spaded shield shape. That's it. Like the basic. Like the most basic shape. And instead of being divided into quadrants with different symbols and text, there's one single simple image.
It is the image of. And I mean abstract. Very simple. Not a detailed carving of a crown that's tilted on a horn. So there's like a horn coming up at an angle, a crown that's tilted on it, and there's a single gemstone in the middle that's cracked.
[00:22:11] Speaker A: And that's gemstone on the crack.
[00:22:13] Speaker B: So like a horn coming up, a crown laying on it at an angle. Again, very simple, very basic. There's a gemstone in the center of the crown and that's cracked.
If any of you are proficient in rumors or history, you can make a check.
I'm a bard.
[00:22:31] Speaker A: Of course I am.
[00:22:33] Speaker B: So here's the thing. Yes. You didn't do this and you didn't know to do this. So you can pick this if you like. And you are level seven.
That's a pretty dang successful individual. You're a meaningful person in the extra legal community.
So you're. I see no reason you could not have gained proficiency in rumors. Rumors is under charisma, so you can. You can be proficient in rumors.
[00:22:56] Speaker A: Okay, so should we give him the option because you get to pick one proficiency from your homework proficiency. Should we give him the option for something else in case he. These are your homebrew.
[00:23:06] Speaker B: Sounds like he.
Okay.
[00:23:09] Speaker A: But he doesn't know what the other ones are because he didn't know.
[00:23:12] Speaker B: To me, totally true. You know? You know what? Grabby is so. Right? So we've got rumors. This is like, history. But I didn't like the way that in D and D, it's like, there's history, and it's like, if you're educated, you know stuff. And it's like, sometimes you know stuff because you hear stuff. Right? And so rumors is knowing stuff because you've heard it around. And it's charisma instead of intelligence. Right.
How good you are at, like, listening to people and picking up stories and tales.
Then strategy is under intelligence. That's your ability to work out plans, consider possibilities, and impending consequences.
Artistry, you can pick. It's a flexible trait. It goes under either Dex or intelligence. And when you pick, that's what it is for you forever. And that's your ability to create works of detail. Okay, Then we have immunity. This is a check that goes under constitution. And it's like constitution, but specifically against antigens and pathogens. Okay, then we have invention.
Is that like fabrication? Is that one of my.
Okay, I forgot.
Inventions, Also under intelligence.
[00:24:19] Speaker A: We should have been doing that.
[00:24:20] Speaker B: I guess that's meant more for Campaign two, because that would be specifically, like, mechanical things. I'm not gonna lie. I've forgotten what that one's about. I need to go back and read my book.
[00:24:30] Speaker A: We should have been using it, I guess, when we were making.
[00:24:32] Speaker B: No, no, because that's literally, like, mechanical concepts. So, honestly, I need to go back and read what that one's about. I don't remember.
Sciences is to work out scientific knowledge, and that would be truly rudimentary at this time. Right. You're not working out physical forces or chemical principles. I mean, we're taught it's simple. Right. But basic concepts, the water cycle, like. Yeah, things like that. Right. Or like, do you understand how a lever works? Do you have a basic concept of friction, even if you don't have a name for it? And then lastly, we have endurance. This also goes under constitution.
It's just endurance. It's your ability to repeat emotions. So I just picked one of those to be proficient? Yeah. Okay, I think I'm just gonna go with rumors then. Okay. But if you ever care, I have posted. And you know what? I can post it in the homebrew and reference for the One Shot channel, too. I think I got those a long time ago. I just. No, I have a custom character sheet that had. That is made for our world in play that I made, and it has all the homebrew skills built into it. So you can just print that sheet and work off of it. That's cool. That would be nice. I also think it's much easier to read than the regular sheet, but that's my opinion. Yeah. Okay. So I roll for rumors. Yeah.
Oh, 20, 30.
Cheese.
[00:25:42] Speaker A: Oh, by the way, I got. I got a Nat 20, so that's a 28.
[00:25:46] Speaker B: Good Lord.
[00:25:51] Speaker A: That's what I was dancing about.
[00:25:54] Speaker B: Oh, you have heard of this. Very basically. We'll get to you. You have.
You have very basically heard of this symbol.
You don't know who it belongs to, but you know a title that goes with it, the Wandering Fool.
You have heard that this title belongs to this, like, this spellcaster out there, this, like, mage figure who goes around causing nonsense, causing miscreants. Right. You've heard.
Oh, shoot, Ravena, That's. That's the one. That's the symbol of the Wandering fool, also known as the Mad Lord of Vagabonds. So the Wandering fool of the Mad Lord of Vagabonds. And you. You've even heard the true name of this individual. You've heard it from among other casting members. You've rubbed shoulders. No, no. You're Mad Lord of Vagabonds. So we have the Wandering fool and the Mad Lord of Vagabonds.
You've brushed shoulders with some pretty meaningful other individuals at this point. Yes. History. You've run into some academic individuals at the Boston Institute where you studied. So you heard you learned things about this individual there. And plenty of rumors. Sorry.
[00:27:11] Speaker A: No, it's not. I don't care. I just noticed you were like.
[00:27:16] Speaker B: And you've.
And then you.
You've. You've. Anyway, you've heard about it all over. You know this individual's name? This is Nesvit.
M E Z V I T T M E Z V I T T Mesvit Ipzerzung IPZ ipz E R Z U N G.
And the U has an umlaut over it. The two dots, mesvit ipserzum.
[00:27:47] Speaker A: It looks like a smiley face.
[00:27:49] Speaker B: It does.
So I'm gonna run through this fairly quickly. You guys can take what you feel is necessary from it.
First of all, this is an individual that those less educated in these differences in the current goings on in the world, often confuse for the mad.
Help me. The Mad Prince. Thank you. No, no, no. Not the Mad Prince.
[00:28:12] Speaker A: The Chaotic Mage.
[00:28:13] Speaker B: The Chaotic Mage. Dear goodness.
My own floor.
It's confusing to teach real science all week and then also teach all my makeup stuff at the end. That's a lot to keep in the noggin.
So they confuse this individual for the Chaotic Mage. But they're two very different people. First of all, it's well known at this point in time that the Chaotic Mage is past. He's dead, and he has been for a long time. For those who truly know now, we as players know that's not the case at all. But if you're educated in this community, you know that he's actually dead. And it's only people who have no idea what's going on who think that he's still alive.
Mesvet is sort of like a copycat now. Not directly.
Some people say that he's inspired by the Chaotic Mage. Others think he's a competitor.
Others think that he's the Chaotic Mage who's come back and has continued his work.
He's rumored in esoteric circles of the Archelian form to be among one of Yaladin's strangest figures. He has these litany of monikers. Wandering Fool. Mad Lord of Vagabonds. But what little can be said about him, he's agreed to be an Archmage, very powerful, a very powerful caster, and a very impractical joker at the same time.
It's said that he's a fellow who meticulously plans magical pranks. I mean, extensively and painstakingly, for no purpose other than to execute them for his own amusement, with not too much regard for the circumstance it leaves other people in.
What do you mean by agree to be an archery?
Like, agreed by people that he is an Archie. That like rumors like, I thought it was like he was given a job offer.
[00:29:44] Speaker A: No, I thought that time for a minute.
[00:29:46] Speaker B: Like, the people. The people who have a grasp on the things he can do are like, you can't do that unless you are really, really skilled.
And then finally, it is rumored that he is a Green Dragonborn and that he is often seen in purple cloaks with jingling slippers.
Oh, my goodness.
Also, since we're never gonna know, I just. While the note takers are note taking, I want to go back and say what was written on the placard of the. Of the statue. It said, you read these words because you're nerds. This could not be clearer.
If you want to find what I've been up to, going down will bring you here.
Okay. You read these nerds because you read these words.
You read these words because you're nerds. This could not be clearer this could not be clear. If you want to find what I've been up to, Going down will bring you near.
So I guess what was the check we were making before? Yes. Moving all the way back. Okay. So.
Yeah, thank you. So going all the way back to where we were. The pattern on the floor. Yes, that's what she knows.
You. You're also picking up on this pattern, and maybe you guys are chatting about it.
So to find where he was in the notes, I. I want you to also make an investigation check. So you're going to notice more because of your passion or your passive. I want you to.
That's gonna be 24.
Holy cow. I love this. Plus nine. Yeah.
Expertise as a rogue is sick. It's really great that you picked it as an investigation for this particular session. Others, it wouldn't work, but this one's all about figuring things out. Yeah.
No, sorry.
[00:31:57] Speaker A: I'm.
[00:31:59] Speaker B: No, sorry.
[00:32:01] Speaker A: I feel like it has to be the same guy.
[00:32:03] Speaker B: My throat is.
[00:32:03] Speaker A: I don't know if I spelled it right.
[00:32:05] Speaker B: I thought you were gonna drink that first. I am not straight from the thing, but my throat's feeling it, so I'm just gonna.
[00:32:12] Speaker A: Like, you need.
[00:32:13] Speaker B: Could you.
[00:32:14] Speaker A: Like, you need cream? Like, it can't be your throat. Feeling of needing.
[00:32:18] Speaker B: You do not know me. Okay.
[00:32:21] Speaker A: What kind of tea.
[00:32:24] Speaker B: That feels better. Anything.
[00:32:28] Speaker A: It's too me.
[00:32:31] Speaker B: You don't know me. Okay, back off me. And.
[00:32:33] Speaker A: No, we're both like.
[00:32:35] Speaker B: So you notice when you follow this pattern along the floor, the broad strokes of these etched patterns have an alternating number of.
Like.
Like the number alternates. They actually alternate in a little number series that goes back and forth as you put it together.
You recognize this pattern?
It is super rudimentary.
[00:33:04] Speaker A: Like. Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I know.
[00:33:06] Speaker B: It's elementary. It's.
It's. It's the pattern of a children's game.
It's hopscotch.
It's hopscotch on the floor.
And you realize that the floor is patterned in a hopscotch. Can I run through where I see the hopscotch? You want to play the game?
[00:33:28] Speaker A: Okay, so wait, is it, like, indented? Like. No, like, concaved onto the floor?
[00:33:35] Speaker B: No, the way it's carved. Like tile. Like, it is carved before I do. I'm Gonna preface.
I'm not crazy this time. I'm gonna try something.
[00:33:44] Speaker A: Are you playing a children's game?
[00:33:47] Speaker B: Yes.
And then you start.
[00:33:49] Speaker A: Go for it.
[00:33:50] Speaker B: Give me an acrobatics check.
It's not the world's highest DC it's not nothing.
W22NEPS from cert from pattern to pattern and pattern to pattern and pattern to pattern and pattern to pattern from stone to stone.
And when you get to the other side, the pattern ends and nothing's changed.
All right, cool.
Anyone else?
[00:34:19] Speaker A: Okay, besides the.
Is there any significant markings on the hopscotch, like any.
[00:34:31] Speaker B: As he points it out, you can see the pattern, but that's it. Just a hopscotch pattern, but nothing like.
[00:34:35] Speaker A: Inside the squares or anything.
[00:34:38] Speaker B: No interest in a hopscotch pattern.
[00:34:40] Speaker A: Do I see? I would like to make an investigation check. Because with hopscotch, you normally have like, a rock you throw, right? So I look for like a stone or something that looks like it would be thrown.
[00:34:49] Speaker B: With your passive investigation, you can tell that there's nothing about.
It's in fact, it's remarkable how well polished the floors are.
Squeaky polished. No dust.
No dust.
No. They are so clean.
I mean, like, remarkably clean. You don't know the last time you saw a chamber like this?
Does anyone walk forward or travel?
[00:35:17] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I, I, I try to, to repeat the game. Yeah.
[00:35:23] Speaker B: Give me an acrobatics check.
[00:35:24] Speaker A: Ravita. Again.
[00:35:30] Speaker B: It's a lot.
[00:35:31] Speaker A: 17. So it's a 20.
[00:35:36] Speaker B: Okay.
Ravina, you across the pattern on the floor. You're fine. No issue.
As Argyle notices that they're doing hopscotch on the floor.
Do you also do that?
Okay, can somebody roll a check for Argyle for me? Can you tell what the modifier is?
No.
[00:35:58] Speaker A: Oh, acrobatics.
[00:36:01] Speaker B: So your acrobatics is better than your acrobatics.
[00:36:03] Speaker A: No, it's not.
[00:36:04] Speaker B: Oh, okay. That's weird.
[00:36:05] Speaker A: Plus one.
[00:36:06] Speaker B: Okay, so dirty 20. Argyle skips across with absolutely no issue.
[00:36:12] Speaker A: Wait, it should be.
[00:36:14] Speaker B: And then.
[00:36:17] Speaker A: Your stats are wrong. Ev Lorry.
[00:36:21] Speaker B: And then there's a pause. That's really funny. Thurn swishes her tail and she goes, that was cute. And she just.
[00:36:29] Speaker A: I may be wrong.
[00:36:31] Speaker B: And as she flies over the space, she just lands coolly on the other side with no issue.
Zeras is just sitting there with his four long limbs, never having perceived ever played the games of hopscotch. So swishing his tail back on the floor and he goes.
[00:36:46] Speaker A: Do you want to play Zaire?
[00:36:48] Speaker B: Are you serious?
[00:36:51] Speaker A: 100% completely.
[00:36:52] Speaker B: Do you think you can do it.
Or are you too afraid to do it?
Somebody roll a disadvantage acrobatics checks for him.
18. Wow.
And that one and that one will do it.
And so will so. So Zeras, he takes one step, and he's like. He's totally nailing the pattern with his front legs. His back legs are just going.
And he misses two or three.
And there's just this really quick.
So one of the symbols that he steps on outside of the pattern alights with a little light on the outside, and then this bright kind of like wave of light and dust just away. It's like dust blowing up with light but then stopping. And Zera stops and goes, I didn't do it right.
[00:37:46] Speaker A: I think you might have.
Something weird's happening.
[00:37:51] Speaker B: He kind of stops and looks around. If you do it, you don't look funny, do you?
No, I'm fine.
Maybe the.
[00:37:59] Speaker A: Maybe the key is to do it wrong.
[00:38:01] Speaker B: He picks up a leg and steps on one of the wrong squares.
Steps. Not.
Maybe we should stop doing that.
It kind of sits down.
Can you guys make a perception check for me?
Oh, my God.
[00:38:21] Speaker A: Six.
[00:38:22] Speaker B: You got a NAT one and a six and a five.
[00:38:30] Speaker A: Some dust spot in our eyes.
[00:38:32] Speaker B: Well, remember, a NAT one is a one. There's no modified one.
Okay. Nothing's happening, so not exactly sure.
[00:38:41] Speaker A: So when it does this. What do you mean? Is it light?
[00:38:43] Speaker B: It's like light. It's like light. A light's on the edge of the pattern of the tile. And then it's like it kicks up a layer of dust that blows away from it, but it's like the light is catching, so it's like this motion of light.
So you guys are sitting there until all of a sudden, pouring out of the grate in the ceiling is this massive column of clear, gelatinous fluid.
[00:39:10] Speaker A: No, on there.
[00:39:12] Speaker B: No, just behind it. Kind of where that square. That tile was standing on it until it starts forming up into a huge gelatinous cube. Cube. No. And I would like everyone to roll me. Initiative, as you all made very sure that you triggered that trap again and again and again and again.
[00:39:35] Speaker A: Is it between us and Z?
[00:39:37] Speaker B: Let's. Let's start up a map, shall we? Okay.
Remember how you gave me a bench? Yeah. Yes, you have it. Oh, okay. What's your total there, dude?
24.
She.
Yes. You have an extra 10ft of movement. Oh, thank you, buddy. You have an extra 10ft of movement, and you do have advantage on the roll you already take. Okay, so everybody else is rolling. Advantage.
[00:40:06] Speaker A: What did you get no.
[00:40:08] Speaker B: 24?
[00:40:14] Speaker A: I got a color.
[00:40:16] Speaker B: What color would everyone like to be?
[00:40:19] Speaker A: Purple. I'm always purple.
[00:40:21] Speaker B: Okay, can I need a silvery gray? Yes, you can. So I've got silvery gray. I've got purple.
What color would you like to be? Argono.
Okay, absolutely. So we've got orange.
I'm going to make third of blue. And then I'm gonna make Xerixes one of the big black tokens. I'm gonna put it in a square where it's occupying more to indicate that it's larger. Okay.
So Xerxes is here.
Thern is over here.
You're all the way up at the front because you have the first across.
And we have Argyle and we have Ravenna. Right. And then is it okay if I borrow this big die? Yeah, no problem.
Right here in the middle, we have this massive square of gelatinous ooze that has just appeared on the ground here.
Okay, I need to roll initiative for the ooze. That feels better on the throat. Thank you.
Yeah. Aren't they great?
They're Hoffas, one of the.
Our buddy that we play with in the game of Gamer one for us. Angie, she bought dice for us because I got dice for her. It was a really cute little back and forth, so. And then these are the ones she got me. They're like pink.
Yeah.
So let me go to the E's.
They're just not edible.
Okay.
I don't know. Showing the building.
I was also delaying while I flipped. I was trying to think of what to do. Okay, so my ooze has that initiative.
Okay, so you got a 24 on initiative. Yes. You are definitely first.
So whose name I misspelled is right there.
What did you get on Initiative?
[00:42:28] Speaker A: I got a 17.
[00:42:28] Speaker B: Okay, and what did you get?
[00:42:30] Speaker A: I got a 10.
[00:42:31] Speaker B: Okay, so Argyle's here.
And then.
Wow, that's a little louder than it meant it to me.
Ravena's here in Initiative and the Dragos are there.
Okay, you're at the top of Initiative. What are you doing? All right, I'm gonna go ahead and move here, here so I can get in this. And I'm gonna straight out, I'm going to cast Fireball. Okay, sick.
So what do I do in association with that?
Okay, it just says I make a range of spell attack on a head target takes fire damage.
So 15 plus, that's gonna be a 21 that will hit. Okay, cool. And then. And it's really hard to describe just how much it hits. Okay. Like the ooze does not miss. Does not move at all. You're just like, what does your spell casting look like?
He's just gonna kind of, you know, here, he's gonna do this. He's gonna reach into a pocket on his belt and he's going to grab something. You don't know what it is. Okay. And he's just gonna like, kind of fling it. And in flinging it, Fireball. Oh. It catches through there. As it does, the cube does not move at all. And the fire scorches part of it. And the edge of it aerosolizes like boils and go into this caustic steam. And as that steam rises upward, it hits the ceiling and earns against a little bit.
It seems to be fully effective. Go ahead and roll that damage for me.
7. 10. That's great damage. 10 plus for your cantrip. It should just be the amount. Okay. Yeah, but that's. That's plenty of damage. Nice. Okay. Is that it for your turn?
I'm going to.
I'm gonna move.
Okay. Excellent. Oh, actually, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Bonus action. I have a bonus action I'm going to. You could hide, disengage, or dash. I'm going to activate my feet gift of the Chromatic Dragon and infuse my crossbow with fire damage. So for the next minute, the weapon will do an extra 1d4 damage. What does that look like for you?
He's gonna take the hand that he just cast with and he's going to reach down and grasp the bolt or I guess the whole crossbow, and just kind of rub his hand from front to back, almost like he's cocking it. It's already cocked him, though. Yeah. Yeah, but cool. As you move your hand back over, flame catches from the tips of your fingers and.
And the bolt with fire.
Is there any particular bachelor reason right now why you have a gift of the Chromatic Dragon?
I was thinking it was because of the dragons you're proximity. Okay. Yeah. Well, I was curious that was what that was gonna be. And I know the idea of playing into that more in the future if we play with this character, but we'll come back. Okay. No pressure and no rush.
I just. I like. This is an interesting little liner. I did not come very.
Dude. Dude. Hey. Hey. And sometimes not being prepared is the dopest thing. Awesome. Because it lays groundwork for new stuff. Right. There's a lot of ways to do a character dope. Argyle, you're up. Ravena, you're on deck.
[00:46:06] Speaker A: Okay.
I am going To.
Okay. I would like to try and hopscotch back over towards the cube.
[00:46:18] Speaker B: You're orange.
[00:46:19] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:46:19] Speaker B: Okay.
Yeah, you're there.
[00:46:25] Speaker A: And I would like to attack, please.
[00:46:31] Speaker B: That makes sense. Biggity, biggity, biggity.
[00:46:38] Speaker A: Okay.
Wow. I'm so sorry.
[00:46:42] Speaker B: It's okay.
It's tough when you're playing a new character and you haven't played this character in literally three years.
[00:46:48] Speaker A: I play Monk so often, but I'm just, like, forgetting.
[00:46:50] Speaker B: Well, I was trying to defend you.
[00:46:52] Speaker A: Okay, thank you. I appreciate that. Okay. I feel weird because I'm playing a green bottle, but I keep thinking, oh, I'll do this. And I'm like, I don't have that.
[00:46:58] Speaker B: I think I'll cast a seventh level. Call the old song. Oh, no, I won't.
[00:47:02] Speaker A: I don't think it's moving, so. Damn. I'm gonna attack my quarter staff.
[00:47:08] Speaker B: Oh, sick.
[00:47:11] Speaker A: I would like to. I'm gonna attack with both hands. Make it 1D8.
[00:47:16] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:47:16] Speaker A: And because of. Because I'm a monk, I can use my dexterity.
Correct?
[00:47:23] Speaker B: Yes. Yeah, yeah.
Which should already be built into your to hit modifier.
[00:47:27] Speaker A: I don't have it down because this was years ago.
[00:47:30] Speaker B: Understood. Understood. Yeah. So It's. It's proficiency plus dex.
So it's plus four.
[00:47:35] Speaker A: Yeah. Okay.
That is. Does a 13 hit?
[00:47:41] Speaker B: 13 will hit.
And as you. As you go to take your step forward, you swing with the staff, and your foot placement wasn't quite right because you were kind of focusing on the hopscotch. And you find yourself thinking, like, even as you're swinging, you're like, that wasn't my best strike. And the ooze does not miss. Does not move at all into it. You're like, oh, this thing's not hard to hit.
Like, almost like its AC is below 10.
It's so easy to hit.
It's a big chunk of ooze. Maybe it shouldn't have wasted this.
I don't know that it's a waste. Who knows? Okay.
[00:48:15] Speaker A: Okay. So.
[00:48:18] Speaker B: Maybe it'll seem worth it.
[00:48:19] Speaker A: How big is it?
How wide?
[00:48:22] Speaker B: It's large. It's, like, 10ft wide. It's real big, but we can get around it. There's just enough room to get around it.
[00:48:30] Speaker A: Okay, that is gonna be an eight.
Damage.
[00:48:34] Speaker B: Eight points of damage.
[00:48:35] Speaker A: My other attack.
And just to be sure, that is also my quarter staff, because it's not a floaty flow. Correct.
[00:48:41] Speaker B: No problem. Yes. You can quarter staff twice.
[00:48:43] Speaker A: Oh, that'll hit. That is a 3020.
[00:48:47] Speaker B: Phenomenal.
[00:48:48] Speaker A: Just for the for my stance again.
[00:48:50] Speaker B: You're. You're really pounding this thing. It's not moving at all. It's just like shadow. Yeah, but that is often the symbol for stairs. I'm using it here to represent, like, more hallway. We're not looking at. Gotcha.
[00:48:59] Speaker A: This is nine.
[00:49:01] Speaker B: Excellent.
[00:49:05] Speaker A: And then I would like to use.
[00:49:07] Speaker B: A key point to bonus action before you blows.
[00:49:10] Speaker A: No, I would like to dash away. I don't need to close.
[00:49:13] Speaker B: Do you. Do you mean to bonus action. Disengage.
[00:49:15] Speaker A: That's what I mean.
[00:49:15] Speaker B: Yes, I got you. I got you.
[00:49:17] Speaker A: Bonus action. Disengage.
[00:49:20] Speaker B: Excellent. Are you keeping track of the key points?
[00:49:21] Speaker A: Yes, I am.
[00:49:22] Speaker B: Okay, you move.
You move two up. That's 10ft.
As a monk, you have.
Yeah, 45 movement. So you have all the. You have another 30ft of movement if you want to use it.
35.
Now, you are aware Xerex's is really big. He's taking up this whole space.
So you can be over here on the side of him.
[00:49:48] Speaker A: I see.
[00:49:48] Speaker B: But he's. He's taking up all of that.
I just don't have something great to.
[00:49:53] Speaker A: Can I squeeze past him?
[00:49:54] Speaker B: Yeah, no, you can fit here or here or even behind him if you want.
[00:49:57] Speaker A: Okay. Let me put him right.
I want to near him in case.
[00:50:02] Speaker B: Sure. Like, run up to him, attack, run back, run up to him, attack, run back kind of a thing.
[00:50:06] Speaker A: I would like to.
Can I be right here?
[00:50:11] Speaker B: Yes. Oh, you, girl. You've got all the movement. Okay. You do this really cool. Like, you do this, like, really.
[00:50:20] Speaker A: No, I know. I'm saying it, but it's little.
[00:50:23] Speaker B: You do this sick, dramatic, like, tuck and roll. And as you do your barrel roll around the ooze, you know, we'll even say that you like barrel roll here. You run up to the wall and you do like a little parkour Arabian. You like, jump up on the wall, do a little flip. You're doing all these cool dodges. And as you land over here, you land down on your feet. And two seconds after you run by, big pseudopod goes like it was 2 second delayed after you move by. And you're like, oh, I didn't have to do all that.
You get the thing, the feeling that this thing's strength is not built in its.
Its ability to move quickly.
That's Argyle strike. Oh, also Argyle, I completely forgot to say. When you struck it with your staff, each blow that struck into it, the whole thing, okay. Like, shook and little parts of it sloughed off.
And as there are little Flashes of light from your magic. It really seemed to disrupt it. It seemed like it didn't resist it at all. It took the damage.
[00:51:19] Speaker A: Okay, cool, cool.
[00:51:20] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:51:22] Speaker A: I would like to.
Can I call out? Is that a reaction?
[00:51:25] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. I would like a short phrase.
[00:51:30] Speaker A: Zeras, don't let it get near you.
[00:51:31] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:51:33] Speaker A: Just in case he isn't. He's never met with.
[00:51:36] Speaker B: He goes up and kisses it.
Ravenna, it's you.
Ravena, it's you.
[00:51:42] Speaker A: Does this thing look like for Ravenna's knowledge? Because I don't think she's ever seen this.
Does it look alive or does it just look like gelatinous? Just falling.
[00:51:52] Speaker B: Give me.
Well, after it fell, it reformed into a cube shape.
[00:51:57] Speaker A: Oh, okay. So it's not continuously falling. There's not more falling on top of it also?
[00:52:01] Speaker B: No, no. And as Argyle ran by, it created a pseudopause light. True. Yeah. On a delay, but yeah. It seems very alive. Okay. And it seems antagonistic. Yeah.
Okay.
[00:52:15] Speaker A: Ravina is.
So you said it's 10 foot wide? About right.
[00:52:20] Speaker B: 10 foot in each direction.
[00:52:25] Speaker A: I hate that.
[00:52:26] Speaker B: That's my news.
Wait, I'm sorry. Should I be doing that sound more.
[00:52:33] Speaker A: I think she wants my next character will have a New Jersey accent.
[00:52:37] Speaker B: I'm just saying.
I'm just saying.
I'm just saying we need to have a monster at some point that goes.
[00:52:44] Speaker A: I do like that. Okay. It's a cool noise, but I like it for a moment.
[00:52:46] Speaker B: It's a cool noise.
[00:52:47] Speaker A: Rabina's gonna cast shatter at it.
[00:52:53] Speaker B: Con. Saving girl.
[00:52:54] Speaker A: Yes, it is con. It says just need. It says non.
It the one thing I was looking up on it because I do know it. But the one thing that it says is a creature made of inorganic material.
[00:53:05] Speaker B: No, this is. This is. It's a lie.
[00:53:09] Speaker A: But it's a creature.
A creature.
[00:53:11] Speaker B: What's your spell?
[00:53:12] Speaker A: Organic M16.
[00:53:15] Speaker B: I got a 17.
[00:53:16] Speaker A: Boom.
[00:53:17] Speaker B: So it is going to take half the energy.
Go home. Roll that sweet, sweet demerge. Dude, that's a really cool teapot.
[00:53:26] Speaker A: My boss got it. He gave it to me. It's from Columbia.
18.
So half of 18.
[00:53:32] Speaker B: Nine.
[00:53:34] Speaker A: And as she did that.
[00:53:38] Speaker B: Is there jazz?
[00:53:39] Speaker A: She played a little bit and it really inspire somebody near her.
Can the dragon. Can we do the dragon's inspiration?
[00:53:56] Speaker B: You can. You are capable.
[00:53:57] Speaker A: Yeah, I was gonna ask that, actually.
[00:54:00] Speaker B: What's the range on your inspiration? 60ft?
[00:54:02] Speaker A: I think so.
[00:54:03] Speaker B: Yeah. So you can inspire either of them if you wanted to.
[00:54:06] Speaker A: Who's that?
[00:54:08] Speaker B: Thern.
[00:54:09] Speaker A: Oh, that's me. And that's Thern. And then that's next. Okay.
[00:54:14] Speaker B: Because no one can remember his name, apparently.
[00:54:16] Speaker A: I know it starts with an N. I keep wanting to say so.
[00:54:18] Speaker B: There's a lot of characters.
[00:54:19] Speaker A: I have it written down on every page.
[00:54:20] Speaker B: Each time I turn the page, you rewrite it.
[00:54:22] Speaker A: Same.
[00:54:23] Speaker B: Does it change slightly every time? Yeah, there's a W in that one.
Neck wine.
[00:54:30] Speaker A: I'm gonna give Tharn the inspiration.
[00:54:32] Speaker B: A little cheater here.
Other side. Absolutely. You are inspired. What's the. No, you had. You had a little fleck of something. Yeah.
Okay. What's your. What's your inspiration? Dying a da.
[00:54:43] Speaker A: Here. Cheese.
Give it back.
[00:54:47] Speaker B: Oh, no. For g. Yeah. I never learned how to read. All right.
[00:54:52] Speaker A: So it was really just wakey skin.
[00:54:54] Speaker B: I was trying to be helpful. It was a little food. There I was.
[00:54:56] Speaker A: I hadn't eaten anything.
[00:54:58] Speaker B: Friends. Neither has the Gillette. You've had seven powdered donuts. Maybe two, but that's not the point. So I'm.
[00:55:06] Speaker A: It's not a cookie. Seven or maybe. Oh my gosh.
[00:55:08] Speaker B: I forgot about the cookies.
Okay, so that was Ravina's turn.
Next up in initiative is the dragons. The cube rolled a four, so we.
[00:55:20] Speaker A: Don'T need more things.
[00:55:20] Speaker B: When I turtle, I'll hold it in my lap.
[00:55:23] Speaker A: If I need to hold it in my lap.
[00:55:25] Speaker B: Does anyone want cookies? The dragons are gonna go.
Thern's a little quicker. Faster.
Yeah.
[00:55:30] Speaker A: I think I would give it to Thern because she's the baby and I like protective over.
[00:55:34] Speaker B: I'm so sorry. Sorry I laughed too hard and squeezed out fart. I'm so sorry.
Anyway, it's Thern's turn, which rhymes.
She is going to.
She's going to. She's going to plant her feet, lower herself down. She dramatically spreads out her wings and she holds out her horn. She opens her. She opens her mouth and she.
And she gets this like determined, excited look. She hasn't gotten to do this yet. And she fires out this little line of electricity from her horn. It, like the electrical charge gathers in her mouth like a Tesla coil, builds up her mouth and then sparks around the horn before flying outward. It's gonna make a dex save, which it's awful at.
Nectun says it fails.
That's really cool. It fails by warn. Yeah.
[00:56:26] Speaker A: She looks like a dragon right now, right?
[00:56:28] Speaker B: Holy crap.
Yes. They look like dragons.
No, it failed. But as a wyrmling, she does 4d10 lightning damage.
Dragons are strong. Yeah.
[00:56:43] Speaker A: Can I play a dragon next campaign?
[00:56:48] Speaker B: So cool. Like a campaign of nothing but Dragons.
[00:56:51] Speaker A: Dragon tails.
[00:56:53] Speaker B: That would be really sick.
[00:56:54] Speaker A: Actually a really sick campaign where we were dragon, like trainers. We each had a dragon. Yeah. Riders of Ar. It was really, really sick.
[00:57:02] Speaker B: Shout out. She dealt 29 lightning damage. 29?
[00:57:08] Speaker A: And she's like what, 10? I have less. I want to keep saying that. Like, how old is she in like human equivalent 10.
[00:57:16] Speaker B: She's literally 10 years old. She's like equivalent, like 5% nectar wolf. Yeah.
As a huge lightning bolt travels outward, it's like as it runs into the cube, the whole cube, like vibrates and then begins to sloth and fall apart. It looks jellied.
It's half damaged. And it's. It's like as the electricity passed through it, didn't burn it. Different, didn't damage it, but it's like it changed the electrolyte composition of the. Of the like gelatinous fluid which like altered its ability to keep it structural and tight. Does it smell different? Yes, the smell is horrendous. Very chemical.
Then it's. She's gonna stay in place. She just. She just.
With triumph. And her tail like swishes back and forth. She's very proud of herself. Now it's Xerix's turn.
And he splays out his wings in a similar pattern, but they don't. Like there's not enough tissue. But it's both kind of sad and also really scary looking. And as he opens up his jaws, his mouth opens and all these lines of acid are trailing in between. As one falls out of his mouth on the floor and he just.
And he sprays out this line of acid. The cube needs to again make a dex.
Dex save.
I doubt it'll make. Yeah, it's a net one that's. And with its modifier, that's a negative three.
He is going to steal.
[00:58:52] Speaker A: It's dead.
[00:58:53] Speaker B: Oh, wow.
Xerxes is strong.
Could I have everyone's D8, sir too? Okay, you can just put them down there.
You need a lot of them.
[00:59:09] Speaker A: I got some more.
[00:59:11] Speaker B: I need more.
Interestingly, this thing. Oh, you can keep the little one just because I don't want you to lose track of it as part of your.
Okay, that's 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.
[00:59:30] Speaker A: Do you need more?
[00:59:31] Speaker B: 9.
[00:59:32] Speaker A: Wow.
[00:59:32] Speaker B: 10. I need another one.
11 da. 11 da.
Vaporized.
And interestingly, the acidic cube is not resistant to acid damage. So it has a. It's a base.
I don't know why it's not. It should be, but it isn't. So this is a different kind of Acid. Yeah, maybe it's. Maybe. You know what? I like that. Maybe it's a base.
[00:59:55] Speaker A: So I just did it once.
[00:59:59] Speaker B: Wow. That was five. It's definitely dead. That's 10, 20.
Holy cow. 32, 35, 40, 47 points of acid damage. That's amazing.
[01:00:17] Speaker A: Wait, did you get that one?
[01:00:18] Speaker B: I didn't roll that one. Oh, okay, so 40, 47 points of acid damage. Everybody can take this back. And as Xerxes sprays his caustic fume outward, it reacts negatively with the base and the entire Cube just shakes and, like, boils and melts apart. And before it can even harm one of you, the Cube is completely destroyed. Thank you everybody, for listening to Barely D. And, dang it, not even close. But in a single round of combat, before anything can happen, the cube is destroyed. 47 damage.
I don't know.
Probably not. But I have 60 seconds of this. Gift of the Chromatic Dragon. Yeah.
Just for your reference.
Understood.
It probably won't come up, but understood. It probably will run out of the next combat.
Yeah. And that's okay. Okay. That's okay. Hey, you don't know you're taking a swing. I should have not used it. That's okay.
[01:01:20] Speaker A: I think I. When that happens, I kind of.
[01:01:23] Speaker B: I.
[01:01:23] Speaker A: When Zaire does that, I kind of nod and wink at him.
[01:01:26] Speaker B: Like, you look up at Zaire and.
[01:01:28] Speaker A: You try to nod and wink like a proud sister.
[01:01:31] Speaker B: He walks up to, like, where the ooze is dissolving and just, like, he, like, stands over it and you watch like there's a glowering hate in him. His face. He, like, stands over it and just dumps more acid on it and it.
And as it steams, the, like, caustic fluid lifts up around his face and he just breathes it in.
What does catches around his head and, like, some of it pulls and drips off of his mouth. And he just stands there for a second, staring. And the floor is beginning to, like, dissolve a little.
[01:02:04] Speaker A: I'm going to go over and I'm going to, like, gently put a hand on his shoulder.
[01:02:07] Speaker B: As you do. He, like, sits back. He acknowledges you, like no face. He just goes back to staring at the acid.
[01:02:14] Speaker A: I say, good job keeping your friends safe from harm, buddy. It was good.
[01:02:20] Speaker B: He, like, looks up at you and you all watch as his pupils are like narrow slits and they widen a little bit, kind of back to normal.
And.
[01:02:30] Speaker A: I say, can you.
Can you help me over the acid, please?
[01:02:36] Speaker B: He, like, looks at the space beside you and he goes, sure.
[01:02:40] Speaker A: Can I walk around Him. Can I walk around the acid?
[01:02:42] Speaker B: Yeah, very easily.
But he goes ahead and leans down for you to climb on his shoulders if you want.
[01:02:48] Speaker A: Yeah, okay.
[01:02:48] Speaker B: You climb up and he goes. Weird request, but fair enough.
And he like, lively puts one leg in front of another to like trim around the edge of the acid and walks back.
[01:02:59] Speaker A: I say gonna say feels good to save people from bad things.
[01:03:08] Speaker B: There's like a pause and he says, sure, it deserved to die.
And he like trims the edges. He's treading and you guys, I just.
[01:03:17] Speaker A: Kind of pat his shoulder.
[01:03:18] Speaker B: Okay. There's this like he, he doesn't, you know, a dog will like kind of like make a soft like woofing moan. A cat will purr when you touch zeras in a way that's like, like feels good. He makes like a hiss like a crocodilian. So you like touch his shoulder and he just.
And like keeps padding forward. Do I know that means yeah? Oh, yeah.
[01:03:44] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:03:44] Speaker B: Yeah. You will have a. He finds you annoying, but you have a very positive relationship. And he just pads gracefully forward with his cat like motion. It's a. You are both. You have the mixed feelings you have, but it's such an intoxicating feeling of power to be rising, to be riding this giant crocodile tiger that can breathe acid. And as he walks around, his demeanor has been very flat and aggressive. He starts walking by thern and he just like nods down and like rubs his really big outward hooked horn. Horn against hers on the way by. And she does this little like, she does this little like clapping motion with her jaws, like with joy and like sparks a little like watches her own electricity in the air. And she's kind of like prancing like a puppy or a kitten.
She's very proud of herself. And the party continues down the hallway. This continues for a way. No more hopscotch patterns. How much time elapses?
Maybe another half hour. Okay. You. You're still not great. You're all well, you're almost there. You're also aware, you know this. At the end of your highs, there's a come down.
You're aware that's a thing.
[01:04:54] Speaker A: Can I ask a question? Yeah. Was the.
Were the mechanics for.
[01:05:02] Speaker B: But I like, do I have anything?
[01:05:06] Speaker A: Was that already set before?
[01:05:09] Speaker B: Yes.
[01:05:09] Speaker A: That's pretty cool.
[01:05:10] Speaker B: I have had that worked out. I've had that worked out since before the accidental adventures.
Have you ever had to use it before? Yes, I've had that worked out before.
Yalabran existed as an entire world.
Can anybody guess why? Caleb when we were just in the.
[01:05:29] Speaker A: Caleb.
[01:05:29] Speaker B: Thank you, Caleb. When we were just.
[01:05:32] Speaker A: I knew when you.
[01:05:33] Speaker B: No judging you poor. But when we were just in the Broken Kingdom campaign with Zedge, Caleb's first thing was like, where are the drugs? So I had to make up a drug and we had to work with him immediately. So I had to come up with rules for Jijid forever ago.
Caleb got the entire party captured by Kefkins one time because they came back from successfully defeating Kevkins. They got into a large city. He got high, then drunk, then went to a bar and shouted about all of his friends. And in front of a bunch of guards. That's very Lord of the Rings of him.
[01:06:02] Speaker A: I thought I did bad in front of Kevin guards. At least I was.
[01:06:06] Speaker B: That's why you. I'm so sorry. What am I doing? And I'm like, girl, that ain't nothing.
So that's dope grabby. I like it.
[01:06:14] Speaker A: Thank you.
[01:06:15] Speaker B: So you guys continue.
After long, you all approach in the door. Another anachronistically out of place shocking wooden door. Shocking?
[01:06:30] Speaker A: What do you mean, shocking?
[01:06:32] Speaker B: It is a bright neon yellow yellow painted door. A paint color you've probably never even seen.
[01:06:40] Speaker A: Yeah, like we probably. I've only seen that color in, like, flowers.
[01:06:44] Speaker B: There is once again, a metal handle. It's bizarrely quaint and strange. The setting, it's just dimly lit by the green light from the crystals inside. Okay. Yep. No.
[01:06:55] Speaker A: Continue your description.
I wanted to investigation.
Could I do Would Ra know this even gurgle Durg?
Because this is me as a player wondering this. But I don't know if Ravina would not.
Could I do an arcana check to see if the colors of the door mean a certain type of magic?
[01:07:17] Speaker B: Yeah, give me an arcana check.
Yeah. Those two chicks are both natural. Oh, yeah. That's great.
[01:07:25] Speaker A: 24.
[01:07:28] Speaker B: You do know the colors that associate with the schools of magic and they're not being followed.
This guy likes the colors on the doors.
[01:07:37] Speaker A: He's a painter.
[01:07:38] Speaker B: He likes pink and he likes yellow.
Okay.
[01:07:41] Speaker A: And then I go, do you want to take this one too?
[01:07:45] Speaker B: You examine it and you are actually very certain there is no chalk line. Chalk outline. It's not trapped. I also did roll in that one, so. And you. And you. You are for sure no chalk outline can be trapped. No chalk outline. I mean, you're. You're certain? It's obviously not there.
I know, but Nectar Nectun doesn't. I got my own name wrong.
[01:08:07] Speaker A: I think Ravina would step up and be like, are you sure?
[01:08:10] Speaker B: I would not touch. Really, Dorgan, what level are you?
Cause metagame's a high level spell.
[01:08:16] Speaker A: I don't mean that.
He already kicked in one door and had a problem.
[01:08:21] Speaker B: So I'm like, wait, I'm at least standing in front of it like, yeah.
[01:08:24] Speaker A: He'S like, looking at it. So I'm like, I don't know if we should touch it again.
[01:08:31] Speaker B: Can she try to persuade me to not open the door? No. And here's why. Here's why. Here's why. Okay, you can totally do checks for that. I, as a DM off a matter of principle, prefer not to do those kinds of checks because I like players to just make choices based on their characters rather than to depend on the dice to tell them what their character. I don't think he would open the door. Okay. Again, because of the legend, I truly trust. I don't think there's anyone at this table who would gen. I'm joking with Jackie, but there's no one at this table who genuinely met a game.
It's fine.
[01:09:01] Speaker A: That's one of those things where people say it and I'm like, I know what that is.
[01:09:06] Speaker B: What? Dude, What?
[01:09:08] Speaker A: I didn't understand that sentence at all.
[01:09:10] Speaker B: Any hoodle.
So what's the party doing? Can I not done my thing? What are y' all doing?
Wow, Words to live by.
[01:09:20] Speaker A: Can I look at the door? Is there anything on the door?
[01:09:23] Speaker B: It is a big yellow door with a metal handle.
[01:09:25] Speaker A: No chalk on the door.
[01:09:26] Speaker B: You don't see any?
[01:09:27] Speaker A: Okay, I would like to knock on the door.
[01:09:30] Speaker B: Okay, beat me to it.
No response.
[01:09:36] Speaker A: I'm gonna open the door.
[01:09:38] Speaker B: Okay, you put your hand on the handle.
[01:09:41] Speaker A: As he's doing that, I'm like, ah.
[01:09:42] Speaker B: You push it through.
You don't feel anything happen?
No, I'm writing down. I'm writing down. I've done my thing. What are y' all doing?
[01:09:54] Speaker A: Ravina's holding her run.
I mean, like, guys, the last door was fine, so this one's fine too. Do you remember what happened to him? That's cuz he kicked it.
Or it's because he touched it. So he touched it. Something happened. He touched it in an aggressive manner. Something happened. And then I touched it in a nice way. And nothing happened.
[01:10:13] Speaker B: It's all about opening doors to consent.
[01:10:17] Speaker A: I mean, you can't start writing that down.
[01:10:21] Speaker B: Response consent as a. No, no, no, no, no.
He's already talked about, already gone into this conversation. We've already to go back and hear tldr.
[01:10:32] Speaker A: Consent is Good.
[01:10:34] Speaker B: Okay.
Dang, that's such a good. Dude, you're on fire today. Tldr Sounds good. But seriously, what?
[01:10:40] Speaker A: I open the door.
[01:10:41] Speaker B: It's open. Yes.
Okay. Thank you.
Said the magic word through the.
It's my version of open sesame. Is DM describe something through the space is the strangest sight yet.
The chamber that lies beyond is a polished, well dressed, hexagonally shaped study.
[01:11:10] Speaker A: Study.
[01:11:12] Speaker B: Oh, let me DM use it nicely. As pictured here in the middle for visual reference.
It is shaped.
Excuse me. It's. It's lined with rich mahogany bookshelves stained with color. I'd send the wood type for you.
I appreciate that very much. The. The shelves are lined with richly bound leather tones.
There are between the shelves, little side tables. I didn't draw all of them, but picture more.
Carved with sleek decorative feet and topped with silver platters of what appear to be warm baked goods and steaming tea.
In the center of the room is an ornately woven rug upon which sits a finely made plush chair stuffed and bound in red leather, which sits squarely in the middle. It has a small end table immediately beside the arm.
Can I investigate the books without touching them? Okay, so after Argyle opens the door, you're the first to step through.
Once you step through the threshold, there's this little emerald green puff of magic around you. I'm not gonna lie. I kind of. And this is happening. So I'm not trying to be retroactive. No, no, no. I thought we were in the room at this point. Okay, totally. And it shouldn't be you. It's. Abby's pretty specific about not walking through.
And like, it would be Argyle, but Abby was really specific about. I opened the door and I. And what do I see? Did not walk through.
It's not supposed to be like a gotcha. You know, it's just. It's funny that Abby.
[01:12:52] Speaker A: I was like about to say I walk through, and then I was like, well, what do I see? That's very funny.
[01:12:58] Speaker B: And that is people who have already dealt with Zach's hijinks for years. The people who haven't. That's people who've played the. The bewildering keep being like, what's in the room? Dude, she has what's in the room.
[01:13:09] Speaker A: I was holding my breath.
[01:13:10] Speaker B: You walked through. I DM'd all you guys a five room dungeon with like nothing. There were like three doors. Yeah. It's so different between player and DM. It's so different. We're not kidding.
[01:13:22] Speaker A: Tomes, goods. And what was the third thing.
[01:13:27] Speaker B: A bunch of stuff.
Chairs, bookshelves.
[01:13:30] Speaker A: The last thing you said that was in there.
[01:13:31] Speaker B: It's really bugging me. An end table next to the chair.
[01:13:34] Speaker A: There was a couch on a rug or a plush.
[01:13:36] Speaker B: There's a chair on a plush.
[01:13:38] Speaker A: Plush chair.
[01:13:39] Speaker B: Yeah, it's here on the map. I drew it.
[01:13:41] Speaker A: I didn't know if it was plush or not.
[01:13:45] Speaker B: You pass the door. There's this emerald green. Okay, okay. There's this emerald green, sparkly of smoke. And you like see it fall down over you. Dang it. And you all watch as an illusory form filters all over.
All over nekton.
And you all watch as a specifically modified version of disguised self is cast on nectar. He looks like nectar, but pushing out of his clothes. Cloak is brimming. An obtrusive amount of chest hair.
Growing from all over his face is a wild and thick beard, which looks horrifying on a gift man.
Hair grows out of his ears. The hair on his head has smaller, other wiry hairs grow out of it. The back of his hands all the way down to his fingers and knuckles and his arm grow with hair. He grows a big hairy mustache.
And it's not real.
It's all bright red.
[01:14:47] Speaker A: I forbid that you have red hair.
[01:14:49] Speaker B: It's. You are. You are Daniel's spirit animal. Oh my God. He's a ginger who loves gifts. And so.
And so you. It's. None of it's real, but you grow grotesquely hair. Does he like drugs too? No. Okay, sorry. I need to stop making drugs. As this guy self overtakes you, so does a specific version of prestidigitation.
And you are filled with the scent of old cheese now. No, hold on, hold on. Not soured cheese. Not revolting, just slightly off putting old cheese.
[01:15:22] Speaker A: Can I leave my cheese stick out all night?
[01:15:24] Speaker B: Yeah, just a little.
Just a little like. Hate that. I know what that smells like. And we don't know why she gets ants. But just. Just a little like.
So he now looks really hairy and. And smells a little cheesy. And you're in the room.
Well, that could have been so much worse.
And Zeras walks by you.
Really?
I don't know that it could have been like treads by you and sits down against a wall. Says the one who was spitting acid earlier. Yeah, that's just cool.
[01:15:57] Speaker A: That's on purpose. That is cool.
[01:16:00] Speaker B: And Zerah's just reclaim lines against one of the walls.
So there's the space in front of you.
[01:16:07] Speaker A: I don't think.
And this Is just a suggestion.
[01:16:12] Speaker B: He's listening very intensely.
[01:16:14] Speaker A: I don't think that anyone should eat anything or drink anything that's in this room. Yeah, I absolutely agree. I'm not a huge fan of tea, but I do not think we should eat.
[01:16:25] Speaker B: Cern looks up at you, looks at the platter and goes, it smells really good.
[01:16:29] Speaker A: Th. I'm hungry. Do you want. It's probably poison. It might. It might be poison. It might turn you into that. And she likes it.
[01:16:38] Speaker B: Joking. She. Look. She looks at. At Neon and goes.
Fair enough. And goes. And like, flops down on the floor like a cat.
That be really funny. If one of them walks through the door, it only got the first person the door closes behind, disappears. What are you guys doing in the chamber? Oh, it disappears. Can I go through my original thing and investigate books again without touching them? Yes, absolutely. You begin walking by and you read elaborate titles on each of them. One of them is called Epochs of the Elder Time. The next one, Magocratic Secrets of the Multiverse. The next Lineages of the Devarsa Family, and on and on. They look like historical texts, philosophical texts, arcane texts. Finally bound. Would. Would Love under the Mountain have come out by this time? Love under the Mountain has not been. The person who writes Love under Mountain is not yet born. Okay. Okay. But that was a dope reference. Thank you.
[01:17:38] Speaker A: Sorry. I keep looking at.
[01:17:39] Speaker B: Looking at books. Yeah. Yeah.
[01:17:40] Speaker A: Because they're right there in my.
[01:17:42] Speaker B: That's all I see. Just the titles. You see a bunch of. You see a bunch of finely bound books. Okay. Nicely titled. They must be incredible volumes. Okay.
[01:17:55] Speaker A: There's no other hallway. This is.
[01:17:59] Speaker B: It's that room right there. I drew it for you. I know.
[01:18:02] Speaker A: I just.
[01:18:03] Speaker B: I thought it might elucidate confusion. I don't like how we're trapped in.
[01:18:07] Speaker A: I am afraid. Is this up on a pedestal?
[01:18:10] Speaker B: No, that's a rug.
Rug.
Understood.
[01:18:14] Speaker A: I have a.
I'm worried somebody has to sit in the chair for something to happen.
[01:18:20] Speaker B: I might as well do it at this point.
[01:18:22] Speaker A: I. I don't want.
[01:18:24] Speaker B: As you all are. As you all are discussing the chair, you do notice that there is an end table here next to it, and there is an opened book with text in it and a quill and an inkwell next to it. You know what?
[01:18:36] Speaker A: I'll do it. You've been through a lot and. Should we look at the open book?
[01:18:40] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm gonna go.
[01:18:41] Speaker A: I'm gonna go look and see like she.
[01:18:43] Speaker B: Like Veena. You walk up the end table. Is 3 inches higher than your eye height, and that's rough argyle. You stand over and look down. You could read it easily.
[01:18:56] Speaker A: I would like to.
I would like to see if the chair looks like. If, Like. Like it'll trigger something if I stand on it.
[01:19:06] Speaker B: Okay, give me an investigation check.
[01:19:09] Speaker A: Can I do an arcana check to see if it's.
[01:19:11] Speaker B: To see if it looks magical?
[01:19:12] Speaker A: Yeah, like, if it has, like, a glitch or. Little chalky.
[01:19:23] Speaker B: That'd be sick.
[01:19:23] Speaker A: That's a dope thing.
13.
[01:19:26] Speaker B: It looks like a chair in every perceivable dimension.
[01:19:30] Speaker A: Okay. Ravina's gonna take a chance and she's gonna.
I can read the text.
[01:19:36] Speaker B: And Raveena, undeterred with her obsession. Ravenna, you climb up on the chair. Oh, no, it's a chair.
And you're on a chair.
All of you. All three of you are looking down at the text as you read the following.
Well, first of all, you look at it.
There's nothing. It's blank.
And you flip a page. Blank.
Page, blank. That's weird.
It has an inkwell. But you do notice there's a little bookmark sticking out.
[01:20:11] Speaker A: I turn to one.
[01:20:12] Speaker B: Okay. You pull from the bookmark and flip the page. This page has text on it. Only on one page. On one side. Everything else is blank. On the left side at the top, there is a title to the page which says, better me and Jesse. Improve yourselves best.
Improve yourselves best.
There. I'm going to say some more lines here.
[01:20:35] Speaker A: Is it written in common?
[01:20:37] Speaker B: It is. This is written in common.
I'm going to say some more lines here, and I'm not going to slow down too much because there's multiple lines. There is below it a text on, like, kind of a line to the side of the page and then a large space beneath it and another line of text. Space, line of text. There's four of these lines and spaces beneath it where one could write. And there's the inkwell next to it. The first line.
The first line says, your mother taught you dreams of adventure just to make you leave her house.
The second line says, somewhere in the great wide world, you are depriving a village of its idiot.
The third line.
No, it says, I've been called to this. The third line says, you hit every branch of the ugly tree on your path to the ground.
The last line says, the most meaningful sound to ever escape your consciousness escaped from betwixt your cheeks.
Okay.
[01:21:39] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:21:40] Speaker B: Oh, excuse me. The most meaningful sound to ever escape your consciousness passed from betwixt your genes.
So we just.
I mean, I don't want to metagame.
You can discuss and care. Okay. I. You can also be players sometimes. I would say that we are supposed to write a better. A better insult underneath every single one.
[01:22:02] Speaker A: Yeah. But I think that would have. Yeah. So. So can you read the first one?
[01:22:08] Speaker B: The first one your mother taught you. Dreams of adventure, just to make you leave her house.
I want to do a counter. Your mom?
[01:22:19] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah.
[01:22:20] Speaker B: Like, just brutal, like you never knew her kind of a thing.
[01:22:26] Speaker A: What about. Okay, wait, wait, wait. Can we. Can we discuss above. Wait, okay. Dm. Can I say that we discuss as characters before we write it down?
[01:22:33] Speaker B: Yeah, absolutely. That's. That's just role play. And actually you can take. So.
[01:22:36] Speaker A: Okay, hear me out. So I'm thinking we could do, like.
What's the second line?
[01:22:42] Speaker B: The second line is, somewhere in the great wide world you are depriving a village of its idiot.
[01:22:47] Speaker A: Okay? So I think you should combine the two. So I think that your mom joke should have something to do with the village idiot. So let's say like, oh, your mom is so fat. No, no, no, no.
[01:23:06] Speaker B: You all look. And Thern has pulled one of the books off the shelf on the other side of the room. She's flipped it open and she's just scanning her eyes. She can't read.
And Zeras is looking over her shoulder and he goes, this place is weird. Can you see what book? Dude. And out of your periphery you can see. It's like some, like the text title on the binding is something about, like, arcane history. And it's just lines and lines and lines and lines and lines of your mom jokes. That's it. On every page. Can I go and read some of them? Sure.
[01:23:38] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:23:39] Speaker B: And there are some really funny.
I haven't planned. Volumes of.
[01:23:44] Speaker A: Can Zera read?
Yes.
[01:23:46] Speaker B: Yes. Yeah. Xerx is very much at that level. That's what I thought he's been learning.
[01:23:52] Speaker A: Your mom.
This is. I'm workshop. Okay, Hear me out.
[01:23:55] Speaker B: Hear me out.
Your mom.
Good.
[01:24:00] Speaker A: Your mom.
[01:24:02] Speaker B: No, no. And I think. I think what Argyle's saying is it goes, your mom, your mom, your mom, your mom, your mom, your mom underneath every single one. Nothing else.
[01:24:11] Speaker A: What happened, Argyll? If I cast hideous laughter at this book, I think, can you make me. Can I think of some Josephers?
Argyle says, okay.
Your mom travels.
Your mom travels. Line break from village to village. Line break.
[01:24:32] Speaker B: I think it has.
[01:24:34] Speaker A: Are you trying to write a poem?
[01:24:35] Speaker B: You do get the feeling it's meant to be like a. Like a zinger. Like a one line underneath. It's not meant to be an eight line. Solo queen.
[01:24:43] Speaker A: What you don't understand. Next, from village. She's a factory. Argyle is a poet.
[01:24:51] Speaker B: Whoa, whoa, whoa.
[01:24:56] Speaker A: That was kind of.
[01:24:57] Speaker B: I stand corrected.
[01:24:57] Speaker A: Your mom is a traveling.
Your mom. Yeah. Your mom travels from village to village. She's a village idiot. Factory.
[01:25:07] Speaker B: We could. We could make it a little more refined.
Okay, help me refine it.
[01:25:12] Speaker A: Help me refine it.
[01:25:12] Speaker B: We could say something along the lines of, How do we stop this? The point is that she's. That she has produced the idiot, which is presumably the fool we are making fun of.
[01:25:28] Speaker A: No, she.
She. She travels around.
[01:25:32] Speaker B: Venus.
[01:25:33] Speaker A: Sitting there watching them analyze.
[01:25:40] Speaker B: This was one of the best decisions I've ever made as a dm. This was so good.
While your mother was stationary.
While our mother was stationary. Yours produced many idiots, of whom you are the least of kids. No, I don't know.
[01:26:02] Speaker A: Hi.
[01:26:07] Speaker B: As these two are deeply engrossed in their conversation.
Ravina, you're just sitting there kind of watching to the side. Could you make a perception check for me?
[01:26:17] Speaker A: Your mom travels from village to village.
[01:26:19] Speaker B: Also, for whatever it's worth, your mom.
[01:26:21] Speaker A: Is a village idiot. Factory.
[01:26:23] Speaker B: That's. That's really good.
Do you want to just. As one of them?
[01:26:27] Speaker A: Ravena, your mom is a.
[01:26:29] Speaker B: You're sitting there.
[01:26:31] Speaker A: That's so good.
[01:26:33] Speaker B: That's really good, Ravina. You're sitting there watching them talk it out and debate.
And you watch as the end table across the room grows eyes. Oh, no.
And one leg. One leg.
[01:26:50] Speaker A: You're depriving someone of this village idiot.
[01:26:52] Speaker B: And everyone hears as.
[01:26:56] Speaker A: You mean the legs of the table.
[01:26:57] Speaker B: As the leg of the table. The side table across the room, eyes open up on its face. And the two legs and the other one.
The whole room stops.
And the end table looks at you all.
And then a big mouth opens up and it goes really quickly. And I knew that everyone in the room.
[01:27:22] Speaker A: Can you send those things in the chat so I can look at them?
[01:27:26] Speaker B: Yeah. Let me get combat rolling. And then. Totes. Those goats, my dude.
Oh, my gosh. I'm gonna need to re roll this.
[01:27:35] Speaker A: Like, super classic.
[01:27:38] Speaker B: Thank you. I'm having a lot of fun with this one.
Dude, we're at 24 again. We're at.
Oh, boy.
Okay, so you're right here.
You're looking at the book. And you're up on the chair. And you're right here. You're all gathered around the book.
I'm gonna put out.
There's this guy.
It's kind of this big.
All right.
This. Yes, yes. All right.
And then.
Okay, and then. All right. Those aren't good numbers. Well, some of these are dragons. You got buddies. Okay, that was not the best roll. Isn't it?
Does it have one on the inside?
[01:28:27] Speaker A: No, it's stained glass. Oh, cool.
Yeah, Yeah, I got 18.
[01:28:33] Speaker B: Okay, give me a second.
I do another piss about in pants. You got 24. What'd you get Rivina at 12?
[01:28:41] Speaker A: Do you remember the third?
[01:28:42] Speaker B: Okay, there was only. There was only one year more. No, no.
[01:28:46] Speaker A: What was the third thing?
[01:28:47] Speaker B: Third line. Okay, dude, just a second. I swear we can be thinking about it while we fight the next. Nobody is rolling good initiative. Okay. The top initiative is absolutely nekton.
Holy crap. Where's the thing again? Nexon. Initiative is Argyll and next in initiative is Rafina.
Then it's the dragons, then it's the mimics.
So this is literally the same initiative order as last time. That's crazy, guys. The poetry today is crazy.
Yes.
Okay, I'm gonna send it in the discord. Okay.
You are at the top of initiative.
Okay, I'm gonna go ahead and immediately. Just as soon as I see the table start moving, I'm gonna draw unsheathe my long sword. You have no idea what that is, but it's deeply unsettling.
Yeah, my long sword. No, no, the mimic. Oh, you're not like.
As a player do is.
I mean, like the table is. The table has eyes and left. Yeah. And with teeth, I'm guessing. Yeah, yeah. So I'm just. Im like, I'm going to kill that thing and just shing. And two handed. Because versus style. We're. And I'm going to use 5, 10, 15, 20.
Is that. Yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah. It's. It's taking up two spaces here. Okay, cool. It's a big boy. And I'm going to.
Is. And I'm guessing my.
Yeah, my dragon thing is completely gone. It has worn off only a minute and that's okay. How are you supposed to know, right?
You gotta take spins. You gotta take guesses.
Okay. Yeah, I just rolled two. Hit.
12.
Sorry, I completely zoned out. That just hits. Okay.
As for damage, Everybody's doing good on energy, but it seems like we're all doing great. But I'm just checking.
I know, but I just.
I guess I'm used to checking on time, but I don't really need to with this group.
Okay.
Just trying to be Cartier.
[01:31:10] Speaker A: I didn't either.
[01:31:11] Speaker B: No, we're having fun. It's Hard to tell. That's going to be 13 damage.
13 damage. That is really pretty good. And good because they all gained some hit points from earlier. Yep. I'm going to use my bonus action and I'm going to disengage dope. And I'm counting. So you came, you came.
5, 10. 5, 10, 15, 20ft. I have 20 left. Yeah. Where do you want to go? Let me go.
Right there. Akidaki. So what does it look like as you slash at this thing with your long sword? He's just going to like go immediately for the open mouth and just kind of like as he draws the sword, he's gonna like flip it and so that he's just driving it straight into the face.
Sorry, this aspect of this you're not ready for and it's gonna be really comical. Oh, no. Um, it's. I'm sorry. I have a bunch of weird surprises today and it's great. No one could have accounted. So you go, oh, no. What is that thing? You run out, you pull out your sword and you just.
Right into the mouth. As the mouth opens and you get close, you get close to the eyes. You're expecting these like reptilian alien eyes. The eyes are really big and wide and dopey looking, googly eyes, like almost, but definitely a lot. And then as the mouth opens up, instead of rows of sharp teeth, they're big, like nubbed wide teeth.
And as you take the sword to drive it in the mouth, right before you do, the big tongue lolls out. Instead of being long and sticky, it's this big floppy blue tongue. And the end table go, the side table goes.
And then you go.
And as you in the mouth and you pull it back, and as you pull it back out, all this like blue blood kind of sprays out, but it's like saccharine smelling, like sweet. And as you pull it back out, you like, like take this really quick step away and you come back to the rug and the thing like licks its mouth and it goes.
And that's your turn.
And you look like you had some damage to it.
Hairy and cheesy smelling. Right? So this smell is mixing with the blue blood.
[01:33:29] Speaker A: Yes.
[01:33:30] Speaker B: And the blood is dripping down its tongue. It looks wounded, but it doesn't look at all concerned about it. Oh, I don't like that at all.
Excellent.
Argyle, it is predictably your turn.
[01:33:40] Speaker A: I would like to make a strategy check. Oh my God, Damon, I'm really gonna win it. That's intelligence growth.
[01:33:47] Speaker B: I'm gonna say in the Throes of combat right now. You totally can. Well, hold on. What's the scope of this deck?
[01:33:51] Speaker A: I want to figure out, like, what's the likelihood that if I write my jokes and I do a good job, that this combat ends.
[01:34:01] Speaker B: I'm gonna say, this is a really quick thing. This is. You're. You're just trying to put stuff. So this is a free action. Free action.
[01:34:09] Speaker A: That was really good intelligence. That'll be a 17.
[01:34:12] Speaker B: I forgot to make it.
I love the joy in your voice when you roll a good number.
People have fun rolling good numbers, but no one has as much fun rolling good checks as I. Oh, okay. She said, look at my dentition.
Oh, my goodness.
17. Yeah, you bet. The solution to this is totally coming up with these burns. Because so far, defeating the monster hasn't been the objective. Coming up with the game has been.
[01:34:41] Speaker A: The way to win.
[01:34:42] Speaker B: So you get the feeling that Mesvit's.
[01:34:44] Speaker A: Interested in the game here. Okay, so I look at and I, like, crunch my eyes, and I go and I write, your mom is a portable village idiot factory.
[01:34:57] Speaker B: As you write it out, your mom is a portable village idiot factory.
You, like, put the last line, and you watch as the text above it disappears. And that line floats up in place.
And you hear a little whispered voice in here, as if someone. You heard someone be very amused with it.
And the text you wrote that floats up turns a little kind of golden. And you have this innate feeling like, I got one.
Like, that one totally worked.
That is your action. Do you have any bonus action or movement? And if you're like, no, I want to stay here, that's fine too.
[01:35:36] Speaker A: I want to stay here.
[01:35:37] Speaker B: Okay. Excellent.
Ravenna, it's your turn. Initiative. Yeah.
[01:35:42] Speaker A: And Ravenna is not as good on the jokes, so she's gonna try to attack the thingy instead.
So I'm still in the chair. I forgot.
[01:35:54] Speaker B: I mean, you can be there. Yeah. It's not a disadvantage.
[01:36:02] Speaker A: Yeah, she's going to.
She's actually going to cast. Let me make sure.
I'm so sorry.
[01:36:17] Speaker B: Also.
Oh, no, that's. That's my ideal. I'll worry about that.
[01:36:22] Speaker A: She's gonna cast.
She's gonna try to cast. To cast. Sleep on it.
[01:36:28] Speaker B: Okay.
Cool, dude. Cool. That is cool. All right.
Just regular first level sleep.
[01:36:35] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:36:36] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:36:37] Speaker A: What is it? I've never cast this spell.
[01:36:40] Speaker B: You roll a number of die. You roll 5d8. If 5d8 is higher than the number of hit points it has, it just falls asleep.
And then the higher you cast yeah, sleep is a really cool spell.
So you and actually I have thoughts on this I want to share with you guys. I was writing something about sleep today in between stuff at work because I think it can be used a little more interestingly. But sleep, you cast it on a creature and you roll your die. If the roll, the total you get from your roll is higher than the current hit points the creature has, it just falls asleep and it remains asleep until the end of the spell.
[01:37:19] Speaker A: So the higher you casted, the more.
[01:37:20] Speaker B: The more dyed you get. So the higher. If you're like, I think this thing might be kind of beefy, you can hire cast a higher level 15.
[01:37:26] Speaker A: I'm pretty low.
[01:37:28] Speaker B: As you start like plucking out a lot a lullaby.
The lullaby. Oh my goodness chaotic. The chaotic mage.
You watch as the m.
And it clearly had more gums and to it than that.
As a quick heads up.
Sleep is a very misleading spell until you read it because you think 5d8 out, that's a maximum of 40 and it's an average of 20.
So the thing about sleep is it's so dope for like there's a guard by that door. Yeah, right. And if you're like, there's a medium enemy, you're like, you know what? I don't have anywhere else to be. I'll use a high level slot. But the thing about sleep, in my personal opinion is you have an extra dumb fine even at first level because the ratio of the diet doesn't work out. But yeah, that's my opinion because I.
[01:38:20] Speaker A: Rolled a 2 or 3 or 1, a 4 or 5.
[01:38:23] Speaker B: And the tricky thing about sleep is like once you make it.
Yeah, that's crazy. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
Wow. The symmetry on today's episode is kind of creepy. We all rolled 20s at one point. The thing about sleep as well that's so weird is that like if you make it too good, then it gets. Anyway, anyway, we'll talk about sleep. I have prophesy because it's harsh. Well, because if it's too powerful, then you just walk around going, combat avoided sleep. Combat avoided sleep. You know.
[01:38:47] Speaker A: But anyway, I think I.
[01:38:51] Speaker B: Am trying.
[01:38:51] Speaker A: To decide if that's all I do.
Yes, that's all I do.
[01:38:54] Speaker B: Okay, it's the dragon's turn.
[01:38:59] Speaker A: Thurn still has barn again spray.
[01:39:01] Speaker B: She does not. It ran out.
[01:39:03] Speaker A: Oh, it's only 10 minutes.
[01:39:04] Speaker B: Thurn's gonna step up and she is going to. They have to roll to recharge their dragon breath. But it's like kind of Immediately she's gotten it back after all this time. So she's going to shoot out the lightning again. Sting needs to make it death safe.
Zack never been rolling better in the last year.
But that was a terrible roll. It does not make it. So it's going to be 4d10, guys. These dragons are strong.
11 plus 14, 27 points of lightning damage.
As the bolt, it burns across the like seemingly wood exterior, which cracks and splinters. And the guy goes, ow.
He like. He goes.
He looks really splintered.
He looks like he's not doing great.
And then it's Zeras's turn. Zeras is going to get up and step forward, still taking up a bunch of space. He's going to aim and he launches out the acid.
There's a nap one.
Anyway. And so the acid sloughs over the creature and it slides off and the creature goes.
It looks like it's completely immune to acid damage.
[01:40:39] Speaker A: Oh, wow.
[01:40:40] Speaker B: That's bad. Interesting affect of mimics.
Yeah, they have abilities. Sometimes things are resistant or immune.
Lastly, an initiative is.
I'm so excited.
Okay.
Abby wrote an insult and it broke. Jackie, what is it?
[01:41:04] Speaker A: I love it so much.
[01:41:06] Speaker B: Wait, but don't tell me, don't tell me.
I want to be surprised. I love it. I want to be surprised. Oh, that's perfect.
[01:41:13] Speaker A: It's not a burn, though.
[01:41:15] Speaker B: No, it's perfect.
Yes, it is. Next. Next up in Initiative.
Next up in initiative is the snuggle mimic. Not a mimic. A snuggle mimic.
Mimics are 5e. Snuggle mimic is Zachary. So it is going to take its movement.
[01:41:36] Speaker A: Not a mim.
[01:41:42] Speaker B: It can just get to you. Okay. So it's going to. It's going to do the. Oh, it's so unsettling. It's like, like.
But there's four of them. So it's not this like weird, like side leg walk, but it's going like, 1, 2, 3, 4. 1, 2, 3, 4. And so it's this like, creepy, like, untrained value. And as it gets close to you, it's like nubbed teeth, like, go. It closes its mouth and these weird pseudopod limbs pull out of it and it just runs up hug you and it goes to tackle you with a hug. Question, question.
How does uncanny dodge work as a reaction? Let's talk about it. Okay. Yes. So uncanny dodge. When you. When you are struck by an attack that you can see, you can reduce the damage by. By half. Yes. So let's talk about this.
Okay. He does have to hit, right? Yes. So he's going to roll the hit.
What is your AC16? That is a 14.
So does Sudipod reach out for you? How does it look as he doesn't hit you?
I'm just gonna. He's just trying to, like. Yeah. Envelop me. Right. I'm just gonna. Well, like not wrap all around you, just literally grab you with two limbs. Yeah. Can I just like, kind of like how I kicked in the door? Yeah, Just kick him back. Yeah. Okay. As he lifts up a boot and just front kick him, he, like, falls backward. He pushes himself up with his legs. So as he goes to grab. He's like, he goes to grab you kick him back. And as your boot hits him, there's no sound of ow. As the arms miss you. He just goes, oh. As he hits the ground, he pushes himself back up and he goes.
[01:43:13] Speaker A: This is more terrifying than a normal mimic.
[01:43:17] Speaker B: Somehow unsettling. The next mimic is going to go.
And where Ravina's standing on the chair. The upholstery at the back.
[01:43:26] Speaker A: I knew that chair was.
[01:43:27] Speaker B: Yeah, you posted me in the back. Goes.
No.
And three eyes open up. Three big friendly, animated looking eyes and a mouth and two arms right from around you try to reach out and grab you. What's your AC12?
That's a.
That's a 16.
So row where you are. These two arms wrap around you, and as they. They like have this sucking sound as they protrude. But then as they grab you, it's not like adhesive. They're just. They just grab you and you brace yourself for intense pain.
It's just a really firm hug. And the arms pull you in, squeeze, and they, like, kind of rock you back and forth and the whole thing, it closes its eyes, it smiles with its mouth, and it goes.
Are we. And it's just hugging you.
I know we're literally in combat, but I feel like.
I don't know, I feel like they maybe aren't that bad.
[01:44:25] Speaker A: Ro just makes eye contact with saris.
[01:44:30] Speaker B: More unsettling than it is over there. And he's going like, Now that you are grappled, you trigger the warm and snuggly feature.
[01:44:45] Speaker A: Oh, no, don't like it. Don't like it. That sounds so warm and slim. This is worse.
[01:44:51] Speaker B: Are you missing any hit points, Ro?
[01:44:53] Speaker A: No.
[01:44:53] Speaker B: Okay. Neither is it.
So as it holds you, there's this pulse of warmth. This like.
And you. And it would both take seven hit points of healing, but neither of you are missing hit points. Wait, so it's just. It's not Even hurting.
That is its turn also. I need to put one right here so it's. It's. Oh, and I can bring my condition rings. But you're grappling.
Then the third one's gonna go.
And right here, this chest, the. The lock in the middle opens up and there's one big eye and then the mouth opens and there's one big stupid, dopey looking tooth in the middle of the mouth. And this big tongue lolls out and it goes.
And it stands up on these tiny little nubby legs and then it runs 5, 10, 15 towards you, the guy in the front. And it goes. Bugs. It's gonna reach out with its arms and gonna try to hit you. What's your AC again? 16.
That was 22.
And you just get tackled with this big.
It grabs you at the legs and as it slams onto you, it just squeezes and goes.
And it's like. Like a dog, its tongue just goes on your knee.
You are grappled and you are now subject to the warm and snuggly feat or feature. Are you missing any hit points? None. Okay. Neither is it.
So no one takes five points of healing. Okay, that is their full turn.
We go back to the top of the.
Okay, Necton, it's your turn. Grappling. What?
So. Yes, let's talk about it. Let's talk about it. So you are not restrained. Restrained is the condition by which you are held in position and you are. You're like pinned and you can't do things. You're grappled. So when you are grappled, that means you can't move anywhere and you're held where you are. But you can still take actions. You still have access to your limbs. You can still spell cast or use a weapon or use an action. All of these things are possible. You cannot bonus action disengage. That's moving without procuring an attack of opportunity. But while you're held, you can't just slip away. However, there is an escape for the grapple here. You said I can bonus action disengage. You can't. You can't. Okay, what's the escape? So typically, if it's just a regular creature grappling your creature, you guys need to make opposed athletics checks. But in this instance, there's a specific DC associated with this monster. So you can make.
You can make either an acrobatics or athletics check to try and get away from.
I'm not going to. Okay, I'm going to look at Ravina and look at the thing on my leg, you look down at it. It's one big eye looks up at you, and it goes.
I've got the long sword in both hands.
It's the adobe tongue looks up and he goes.
I'm gonna say, you know, I.
And it's. This is kind of a long sentence. Can I use it as a free. Absolutely, if it's funny. I have made many, many mistakes up to this point.
However, I feel like it would be a mistake to kill these things.
[01:48:14] Speaker A: Ravina says that she's being.
[01:48:19] Speaker B: The three eyes from around her head look down and smile.
Can I just skip my turn? You totally can. I think I'm gonna skip my turn. Yeah, Absolutely.
I'm not gonna do that. I'm just gonna sit there. You take your sword and you clean it on your armor and back in your armor. And you just stand there. And where you are, it closes. Closes its eyes. The wood bends like flesh, and it kind of like buries its head in your leg and goes.
And just hugs your ankle.
That is your turn, Argyle. You're up.
[01:48:49] Speaker A: Okay. I look around, I look around, I go, ah.
[01:48:54] Speaker B: You look up.
[01:48:56] Speaker A: Ravenna looks at you, and it's like.
[01:48:58] Speaker B: Nekton'S got one in front of him, one wrapped around his legs. Ravena's pinned to the chair. The chair is smiling and holding. Holding her just going.
[01:49:07] Speaker A: And I scribble in the book. I say, your mom was a farmer. You reaped what she sewed. She plant. She only planted ugly trees.
That's not what.
[01:49:20] Speaker B: That's.
[01:49:20] Speaker A: I have. That's my next.
[01:49:24] Speaker B: As you. As you write it down, the. The text disappears. That one turns gold, floats up, and you hear the voice, and you hear go.
[01:49:34] Speaker A: Wait, can I write it?
[01:49:36] Speaker B: Excellent.
You have. You have passed another one.
[01:49:40] Speaker A: Okay, nice.
[01:49:41] Speaker B: We go to Ravenna. Okay, it's your turn. Initiative. What are you doing, brognance?
[01:49:45] Speaker A: Okay, so as I've grappled.
Ravenna does not want to be hugged by this thing. She does not care that it's T.L.
[01:49:55] Speaker B: Dr. Consent is important.
[01:49:57] Speaker A: Yes.
So she's gonna try. She would like to try to get out.
[01:50:03] Speaker B: Okay.
Give me an athletics or acrobatics check. Oh, you are. You are subject to the adhesive trait as it's hugging you. So this check is made at disadvantage. Yeah. While it's held onto you. While it's squeezing you. You have disadvantage.
[01:50:21] Speaker A: Okay. Acrobatics or athletics? I'm gonna go with acrobatics.
[01:50:23] Speaker B: That's a good idea.
Okay. Those were great rolls.
[01:50:30] Speaker A: Yeah. So that's gonna be.
[01:50:35] Speaker B: It's DC15.
And so Ravina, as you. As it's squeezing you, you, like, squirm and slip and you just push a leg and you. Yeah. Right out from underneath it.
[01:50:47] Speaker A: I like to say, just to flavor it, that it's kind of like when you have like someone that hugs you, like a little too long or something.
Okay. Like she's just going.
[01:50:57] Speaker B: And as you push up, you just rotate your body, you just slip out and you are out of its grasp. Do you want to try and move somewhere?
[01:51:03] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm gonna go.
Opportunity attack.
[01:51:07] Speaker B: From moving, you start to try.
[01:51:13] Speaker A: Well, am I on the chair still?
[01:51:15] Speaker B: You're standing on it.
[01:51:16] Speaker A: I'm standing on the chair.
I guess I'm gonna try to hop down.
[01:51:24] Speaker B: Okay. Where are you going? This way.
[01:51:25] Speaker A: This way towards Argyle.
[01:51:27] Speaker B: Okay. You hop off.
Okay.
Having just escaped its grapple cannot retry.
[01:51:35] Speaker A: That would be. That's what I wondered.
[01:51:37] Speaker B: But I was honestly, if it was a horrible encounter, I might let it do it. But that's.
So where you going? What are you doing?
Also, as a note, as you hop down, the table is now too high for you and you can't see the book. You're too short.
I love it. Argh.
[01:51:52] Speaker A: Okay.
Yeah, she's gonna.
So there's the one in front of me. There's. Sorry, I'm just looking at which ones are.
You're not doing anything of weird.
[01:52:09] Speaker B: I can attack next turn if I want to, though. Yes. Yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah. Just this turn. He said it would be wrong to kill these. And you put a sword up.
[01:52:16] Speaker A: I'm not going to make it.
[01:52:17] Speaker B: If you pull it back out, it's not a problem.
[01:52:18] Speaker A: Yeah, she's going to.
She's going to cast Leman's tiny hut over Argyle so nothing can hug her.
Nothing can hug him while he.
[01:52:32] Speaker B: He's clever.
As you. As you play.
This is. This is Home by Switchfoot.
There's this that appears over you and you are suddenly encased in this bubble of light that no one can pass through.
[01:52:53] Speaker A: I think I'm. I'm.
What?
[01:52:56] Speaker B: What?
[01:52:57] Speaker A: I think I'm shotgun.
[01:52:59] Speaker B: Smart. Beautiful.
No, it's much bigger, but that's fun.
[01:53:04] Speaker A: Visual.
I would say I kind of step into it as I. As I.
[01:53:10] Speaker B: You can do that? Yeah. We'll just. It doesn't. We get the visual.
[01:53:13] Speaker A: She doesn't want to be hot.
[01:53:16] Speaker B: She. Anyone that Ravina wants to enter can ally.
[01:53:19] Speaker A: Ally in my head when I cast it. Any ally can get it in.
[01:53:22] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:53:23] Speaker A: And like, if. If one of the Dragons wanted to reach in. They could, but that mimics can't.
[01:53:27] Speaker B: That's a really creative, sweet Ravenna awesome turn. It's the dragon's turn.
Zeras.
[01:53:35] Speaker A: I gave Zeras inspiration when I casted it.
[01:53:39] Speaker B: All right. Zeras looks up and goes, Confused. What do I do?
And there's like acid dripping from the jaws. And he just goes.
And he just looks confused. And he doesn't know what to do in this turn. And he just goes, Colin, stupid. And then.
I love it.
Does he have no melee attacks? He does, but he doesn't. He doesn't. He's confused.
[01:54:07] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:54:07] Speaker B: Typically they're just killing enemies and that's not what's happening.
[01:54:10] Speaker A: Well, and you didn't attack, so.
[01:54:11] Speaker B: That's true. I didn't. And you know what he's going to do? He'll move up to here just so he's near to protect you guys. But he's just like.
He's just looking around really confused. Therm's gonna like, look to her brother.
She just flanks up here.
She's just. And she's. She's holding her horn. Zapping energy, but just looking back and forth, waiting for something to pop off. And they're gonna attack third turns. They're not sure what they should do right now.
[01:54:38] Speaker A: Her electricity did affect it, right?
[01:54:40] Speaker B: It did definitely damage it.
[01:54:42] Speaker A: So weird.
[01:54:43] Speaker B: Now it's the mimics. Well, they just. So real mimics. Real mimics. The main damage they deal is acid damage.
[01:54:50] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:54:50] Speaker B: So they're immune to acid damage.
[01:54:51] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:54:52] Speaker B: Yeah. So like Zeris would be. I mean, he means acid damage as well. He's resistant.
No, he's immune. He's immune to acid damage. Now, not all creatures that deal acid. Creatures that are like very acidic tend to be immune. Depends. Depends. Unless they're.
Yes, but there are other oozes which are. Doesn't make any sense. But anywho, it's a snuggle mimics turn.
So this one hugs your legs and goes.
The other one tries to hug you again. Okay.
It has advantage now that you're being hugged. I don't know that it was a good number, but it wasn't an intentional roll, so I'm not gonna take it. That was a terrible.
A terrible twice. So it goes to hug you and can I just like. Instead of like stomping it or trying to kick it, I just put my other leg out and push it away. As you're pushing away. It's also not looking great from the damage you did earlier. So it's swinging its arms. And it goes.
And it's also looking like it's going through.
[01:55:56] Speaker A: I can't help that.
[01:55:57] Speaker B: I don't. So that's the thing is I don't.
Out of character. I'm thinking that these things, if we kill them, might end up being more of a hurt to us than not. Because unless they suddenly switch from doing health doing damage, I can't. Besides lack of movement speed, I don't see what other. I think Abby's saying if you let it hug you, it'll get health. Yeah, it'll get health points back. But I'm not. So I'm not sure. Oh, I see what you're saying. I don't know if I want all of them alive. As you're thinking that through at least one. I don't know. I think that through the third one comes up. Okay. And you're pin from all sides. It also has advantage 16. 16 is my AC meets it beats it. Okay. So from behind these two big chair arms. Is this gonna have to make the check twice?
From behind the two big chair arms grab you and you.
And it is also not missing any hit points. Neither are you. But you feel the warm and snuggly effect and you're just really snuggled from every side.
And this might be the weirdest moment of your life. Nectun, you have three living furniture items. Two actively hugging you, one trying you're pinching from either side. And they're all giggling and happy and snuggling. And they're just like. And they're all over you.
This is weird.
My turn next, right? Yep. You're over the top edition.
One was all right. I don't know about three. He's gonna draw his longsword again and he's going to cast booming blade as cantrip. Which.
So it says to clarify, it says you brandish the weapon used in the spell's casting and make a melee attack with it against some creature you use. Takes one action. So is that. Am I reading that as.
Yeah, right. Am I reading that as I attack with the sword?
It's all the same action. Cool.
Also, I can tell from these borders. And that means you copied and printed these off from DND wiki where they should come from. Okay. Yeah. I went to the for all of this. That's where they should come from. I love it. Excellent. All right. 2. I'm going to attack the last one. Who is. Yeah. The one that's not doing well. Yeah. Who's not doing too great to hit is dam.
Okay.
13.
That hits the old.
And then. Damn. Oh boy. Damages. So it's your weapon plus the damage. Yeah, there's a bunch of modifiers.
Let me plus your strength. So it's. It's. It's the sword plus your strength. Yeah, I did. I did have this one all written out. Oh, great. This. And then the magic item I sent you is the handle of my sword. So it increases the damage. Dude, wait, another stuff. Noah.
Okay, 1D. Okay. So 1D thunder damage for five. So five thunder damage. Going to start writing these down.
Five and then I. I'm assuming I just did this two handed. Versatile.
That's nine. That's so five plus nine. 14 plus your strength muscle. Yeah. Yeah. So nine plus four plus three.
Wait, what's the 16? What's the 4?
The 4 is my strength mod. Okay. And what's the 3? The. I have this thing called Astral Spark as a gift. So that's when I hit a target with. So you're at 16, but that's plus the five. So you're at 21. 21 points of damage because you rolled five from your first damage. Yeah, 16.
And then.
So then because of this.
So he took the 1d8 thunder damage. But now if he willingly moves 5ft or more, he's going to take 2d8 thunder damage. I'll do you one better. How do you want to do this? Oh, heck yeah.
So let's say that you know how when there's a really high base, you can see the sound waves.
I want to say that envelops the sword for just a split second second while I strike it. And then as I strike it, it just dissipates and explodes.
Sick. And I'm aiming to cleave it in half. And as you pull the sword outward, there's this and all the sound like pulls for a minute and you're like cleaving through it. And as the sword gets about halfway, you swear from when everything slows for just an instant, the mimic vibrates really hard for an instant. Like baits. And then it just one big burst and there's this reverb and it just explodes. And all these. It's just.
It's so messy.
Up the front of you all over. Tharn all over. The other two mimics it just on the side of the tiny hut. Can I say that some of the blue stuff landed on my face like in brave part.
Yes, yes. And it's all over you, but it's more on one side.
Messy but like you can tell. Yeah. As it pops the last sound it makes is.
And then it just explodes. The other two snuggle mimics go a. And then go back.
Go back to snuggle.
[02:01:08] Speaker A: I was a little worried that they would like.
[02:01:09] Speaker B: I was worried that killing one would, like, flip them or something and they. And they just go back dogging you. All right, that's it, Argyle, show us your. What's your master.
Is this the one?
[02:01:23] Speaker A: No, no. The third retort is he's like, look, you see the light bulb turn on.
Your name precedes you and your path crowds part.
They know the reputation of your stinky fart.
[02:01:41] Speaker B: Oh, man.
So the words start to flicker, and you hear a voice in your ear go, well, yeah.
And your words disappear. Your words turn gold and go up. And you get the feeling the fart joke got him. But it's just so long.
And so it rises up.
But you passed that one as well. Excellent. It's now Ravenna's turn in initiative. Ravenna, if you can try to climb up to see the book, you can try to write in it, but you're just not there right now. So if you can get up high enough, you can write in it.
[02:02:17] Speaker A: I believe in Argyle.
[02:02:18] Speaker B: Okay. Do you just sit there?
I.
[02:02:24] Speaker A: I'm gonna, I'm gonna use my action for like in my turn, basically, I poke my head out of this side at the Zerus and I say, I don't like these things, just bite at them.
[02:02:44] Speaker B: And Zeras goes, okay.
[02:02:49] Speaker A: And that's pretty much my turn.
[02:02:50] Speaker B: Excellent.
Zeras is gonna come around from this direction.
I mean, he's huge, stalking around the giant crocodile tiger looking thing. And you, you watch as like the miniature holding you. He's looking at you like.
And up behind him is just.
And Zeris's jaws.
And. And he's looking at me like.
And he's flanked. So Zeris has advantage.
What's the meme of.
[02:03:20] Speaker A: There's.
[02:03:20] Speaker B: It's like a wrestling meme. There's like one guy and then there's the long. Yeah, I forget who it is. The Undertaker. Yes. He's looming behind him. That was a nat.20 on the bite.
That was a 25 on a claw attack.
And that's a 26 on a claw attack.
Uh oh. Spaghettio. Spaghettio. Is that what the mimics are?
Ooh, this is that good.
Uh oh, Mimi, that's.
I only have to make one check now. That's 28 damage from the bite.
It's a good thing these dragons are on your side.
So 287 plus 4 is 11 so we're at 39, plus 11 is 50, plus 4 is 54.
The mimic is, like, looking up at you, like, and Zeras rips it to he, like, his jaws.
And as his jaws come down, the mimic looks up and goes.
And the jaws just, like, crunch the top of it. And there's this horrible sound, and it just rips the top of it off. And then the claws come around from each side, break the arms, pull it in, and then you watch as reaches forward, picks it up in the air, ripping the top of it off. And then just takes his claws, digs them in and rips it apart from either side. And as the pieces go flying to the side, he, like, picks up the top of it and just starts eating the part of it that he ripped off the top. Gore is pouring down the front of him. You're covered from the backside of the gore now. And Daris lands in front of you and goes.
And there's just this moment of, like, okay, glad he's on your side.
All right, now it's Fern.
She understands what's happening now. She's gonna walk right up to it.
Oh, no, I can't keep any of them. She has to roll to recharge. She doesn't get it back. Okay, she doesn't have her breath weapon. Yeah, yeah. I can't move. I'm not like.
I can still attack and stuff, but I can't move anywhere. She does not have her breath weapon. She did not think to.
Oh, she only has one bite.
She doesn't make it.
So.
Okay, anyway, so she does not recharge her lightning breath. So it fizzles. She goes to bite and she, like, kind of like, she bites too broad of a part. Her jaws aren't wide enough and they just slip off. She goes.
So this mimic is fine.
It's the mimic's turn.
He squeezes and snuggles you, and neither you are damaged.
You don't have to. Actually, no, it's fully your choice, actually. The only problem is I can't move.
You can.
You're not restrained. You're grappled.
[02:06:29] Speaker A: Yeah.
[02:06:29] Speaker B: And you weigh more than he does. Oh, so I can just, like, on one leg, like a toddler, just walk? What's my movement speed with him attached? Like, well, while he's on your leg half. But if you put him up somewhere else, you're big enough, wouldn't reduce you at all. Okay. I mean, I just gave you a magical box of healing. I know.
That's what I was getting at.
The other one, everybody's killing them. And that's fine. Yeah. Anyway, back to the top initiative. Necton. What you doing? I'm not going to do anything. Anything. I'm gonna turn to the dragon. Say. Wait, don't, don't.
I don't think this is necessary. And I'm gonna reach down and I'm gonna try and flip him up onto my back. Give me an athletic check. Okay.
Or persuasion. Your choice. Wait. You can either try to persuade him or you can try to pull him off and put him somewhere. I'm gonna go with athletics. Okay.
I have. Oh. So this thing. I didn't use it earlier. I have advantage on strength ability checks because hippo build. Right.
And I count as a plus one size when determining carrying capacity.
So. Yeah. We're gonna call this contested. It's gonna make an athletics against you. Okay, but I'm rolling an advantage, right? Nope.
It's a 19 and a. Well, I rolled a. Oh, not 20. So a 24. I rolled a four. Okay. I. Neptune, you've had.
You've had three Nat ones and three Nat twenties and that's weird. That is weird. The symmetry of today is crazy. What is happening statistically today I'm being snuggled. You rip it off of your leg and it goes. Oh. And then you put it up on your back and it goes.
It goes back. I actually like this. This is great. So you have a snuggle mimic in your possession.
You can put that in your info inventory later. Okay, cool.
[02:08:16] Speaker A: I genuinely believe that Ravina, like, she doesn't get scared of things, but these are freaking around.
[02:08:22] Speaker B: Oh, they're definitely unsafely but advantageous. Argyle with our final insult.
Do the honors. You wrote it.
[02:08:32] Speaker A: You wrote it. She's like, I don't want to read.
[02:08:34] Speaker B: Abby's like, it's too good for my. It's too good for the mortal world. So good.
If you can't read it. I'll read it out if you want.
[02:08:42] Speaker A: She mez on my bit till ips from her.
[02:09:02] Speaker B: Girl gets engaged and gets edgy.
[02:09:05] Speaker A: You.
[02:09:06] Speaker B: That's crazy.
I want to be very clear with what I'm going to do next. I want to be very clear about something. I am not trying to set a dangerous principle. Okay. Our precedent. I'm not trying to set a dangerous precedent. The most warily I've ever said this.
Inspiration, question mark.
Feel me, you know, like, yeah. I can't possibly not reward you for that.
But also.
Whoa, dude. Whoa.
Didn't know you had that in you.
That's amazing.
I was over here trying to Be all Shakespearean. And she's just like, I have to tell. That's a Hoffa later.
And as you write it.
As you write it, the text disappears. Yours turns brilliant gold. And the voice in your ear goes.
And you. And in a sparkle of gold, a door appears in the wall.
[02:10:16] Speaker A: I point to the door and said, I did it.
I want to say combat ever.
[02:10:22] Speaker B: That was so good.
[02:10:23] Speaker A: A combat where I just got to sit and think of jokes the whole time. And I'm like. I'm like. I read a joke, and then. And I just.
[02:10:31] Speaker B: And I didn't even have to feel bad about rolling bed. Four or five seconds later, the voice in your head is still going, mess with my again and again and again.
And so, yeah.
The final door which appears.
The final.
Oh, no. The final door which appears is a bright emerald green. Okay.
[02:11:03] Speaker A: Oh, boy.
[02:11:07] Speaker B: Oh, dm. Is my movement speed. Sorry, this is. Is my movement speed decreased now, or is it back to you finally? Okay, come down off of your high. Oh, no. I need a concentration. I need a concentration. I'm really glad I kept this thing constitution. Saving throw.
Okay. 12.
You.
You have lost the penalty to your saving throws. You no longer have those.
You lose.
You lose the reduction or the addition of your speed.
And you feel heavy lethargy come over you. As the high wears off, your pupils constrict, and you.
Your movement speed is reduced by 10, 20. Yeah.
And you take, like, a deep sigh, and you.
You feel really worn out.
That come down is not fun. But you didn't roll. Roll below a certain number so there's no additional side effect. And there is a big box in your back going.
Yeah.
Your snuggle Mimic has an AC of 12. Okay. It has 59 hit points.
Okay.
[02:12:20] Speaker A: 59. That's a lot more than me.
[02:12:23] Speaker B: And every round that it is snuggling you, you gain 2d4 hit points. Does it? And it gains 2d4. Does it.
Sorry. On its turn. Okay, so it has its own initiative. Well, it'll go on. We'll just put it on. Your turn on mine. But basically, when it goes, it gives you two D4. It gets two. Okay. While in combat.
Yeah, Sorry.
[02:12:47] Speaker A: That was in character of Ravita making that face.
[02:12:50] Speaker B: Okay.
[02:12:53] Speaker A: Are you gonna keep that thing?
[02:12:55] Speaker B: I don't see why not. A little. The big eye comes over her shoulder, and it, like, waves with an arm. I might need it.
Everybody just almost barfing today.
That's crazy. That's so good. That needs to be a tattoo, but I'm just kidding. That's not going on my body.
I might get that one tattooed up.
So the big green door appears sparkling. And you all see in front of you.
[02:13:31] Speaker A: While we wait on Abby so she doesn't miss this. I just want to say that a weird headcanon I had about Ravina that's kind of dark. Is that I feel like she feels more motherly to a big scary.
[02:13:45] Speaker B: I can see that dragon.
[02:13:47] Speaker A: Than she ever would have to roam.
[02:13:52] Speaker B: Wow.
[02:13:53] Speaker A: She doesn't like, like, like made her so sick for something to be hugging her. Even though it was like a monster in combat.
[02:14:01] Speaker B: It was like, oh, no, no, no, thanks.
And remind me again. And this is like, well exposed.
And if this has not been revealed in the camp as. I just don't know what does. Does Robina like, just disappear?
[02:14:17] Speaker A: Okay, so she's just like Ro never met her.
[02:14:19] Speaker B: She just never met her.
[02:14:20] Speaker A: She dropped. She dropped Ro off at an orphanage and then.
[02:14:28] Speaker B: Ro never knew her.
[02:14:29] Speaker A: Yeah, okay. I did. We did find out that.
[02:14:33] Speaker B: We found out more about her history later on, but the exact nature of her demise still not known. We know the generals, but she's dead.
[02:14:41] Speaker A: Yeah, we know she's dead. Cuz like, Ro has.
[02:14:46] Speaker B: Divinated about it and tried to send to her. Oh, yeah. Okay.
[02:14:49] Speaker A: Yeah.
[02:14:51] Speaker B: I guess that makes it easier for you because then you won't have to play two characters.
As the brilliant green door appears.
Your hair illusion. And the old cheese smell dissipates.
Is the blood still on my face? Oh, you're still covered in anxiety. You want me to gore.
The cheese smell is gone, right? Yeah, that would be. That would be lovely.
[02:15:14] Speaker A: Thank you. Do you want the blood gone?
[02:15:17] Speaker B: Yes, please. Okay, well, she doesn't Some of it, some of it away. There's a lot.
[02:15:22] Speaker A: Yeah.
[02:15:24] Speaker B: She does it strum again and again and again. It takes like 10 or 12 and you're like, jeez. But finally he.
Finally he's clean. Also, Zeras is sitting there licking the gore and blood off of himself.
[02:15:36] Speaker A: Does it taste good?
[02:15:37] Speaker B: There he goes.
Flesh. And he goes back to licking. He's a very large obligate carnivore. Can I walk over and like. Is there blood on the ground? Yeah. Can I, like, taste it? Absolutely. Okay.
Smells amazing in your mouth.
Constitution saving throw. That is revolting.
8.
It. It tastes like iron.
And you know the. You know the taste of like, raw fat. Yes. It tastes like iron and lipid mixed together. And you're pretty sure you got ligament in there.
And as you put it in your mouth, one of the reasons I Would hate as you. As you eating just. That is so gross. As you put in your mouth and you just. You proceed to just wretch all over the floor.
[02:16:29] Speaker A: Nasty, nasty.
Ravena sighs and starts drumming again and it disappears.
[02:16:36] Speaker B: I just nod like a thank you. Teris looks at the vomit and then goes back to like, is this character. This is. I don't want to derail. This character is supposed to be like a fairly experienced and hopefully more wise person than this. Like, his wisdom is not low, but what a day he's had.
Anywho, bad decisions.
The green door is there in the.
[02:17:04] Speaker A: Valley of the green glass doors.
Green bottle green door.
[02:17:09] Speaker B: It's got more hit points.
Take it.
[02:17:13] Speaker A: I knock on the door.
[02:17:16] Speaker B: No response.
[02:17:18] Speaker A: I open the door.
[02:17:21] Speaker B: It opens.
[02:17:22] Speaker A: What do I see in the door.
[02:17:24] Speaker B: In the next chamber as it's drawn here on the table? It felt laborious at the time, but it was super worth it.
You all see another.
This is a circular room, but I drew it as a hexagon because it's easier on this map. So a big circular chamber.
This one is. The floor is a white marble. And overhead the ceiling is like a couple hundred different stained glass circles.
Instead of having a single source of light diffusing light all around, it's like each one is a column with its own source of light pointing light straight down. And so the room is like blue, red, purple, green, orange, yellow, white all around the space.
Kaleidoscope of colors in the center of the room is. I'll use.
I need a properly sized.
It's a ray.
[02:18:22] Speaker A: Well, what do you mean?
[02:18:23] Speaker B: Yeah, this is roughly the right size. In the center of the room is this figure draped in all the light.
It is about 11ft tall.
It's got four foot wide shoulders.
It's the rough shape of a humanoid and it's completely clay.
And it's just standing there motionless. Its face is like. Its eyes are like two, like vague divots. Its mouth is like a line.
Oh, okay. All right. Okay.
And.
Yeah. Are we using the thing? Oh, that's pretty good actually. I warn you, their balances is not the best.
[02:18:58] Speaker A: No, this guy's good. This guy's solid.
[02:18:59] Speaker B: That's rainbow. Oh, okay.
So my dude is there and he's just motionless and clay and you all.
His face is like two. It's like two pressed divots from fingers rise like a clay sculpture. And the mouth is just a line, like a finger. Okay. And he's like, he's like. No, he's like vaguely a humanoid shape, but like vaguely, literally as misky. And honestly, that's got more detail than he does. Okay. He's like. He's like oblong and lumped and not Quite right. He's 11ft tall, 4 foot wide shoulders. And there is in his chest a piece of paper that's staked in with like, like a big iron rail just kind of stabbed in the chest. And there appears to be script on it. And he's just standing alone in the room with all the lights like five feet up.
Now, if somebody gave you. If somebody gave you uppies, you could read or if you. Or if you were riding Xeric's words. Are you actually.
No.
[02:19:52] Speaker A: I asked Z to zer, like lifts.
[02:19:56] Speaker B: His shoulders down and you can like climb up. Does everyone walk in? Are we walking into the room at this point?
[02:20:00] Speaker A: I have not walked in yet. I do not walk in yet. But I see that there's something tall.
[02:20:04] Speaker B: Everybody's gathered around the door. You're just getting up to look.
[02:20:07] Speaker A: I look at you and I go.
Third time is a charm, right? Third time's a charm. That's true.
[02:20:15] Speaker B: I said it's. And I'm gonna walk through the door. Okay.
[02:20:18] Speaker A: Argyle and Ravita are like hazing this guy.
[02:20:21] Speaker B: You just, you just shaking it at this point.
You just.
And you step through and there's this spray of like pink sparkly gas.
And as you breathe in, that's different. It smells really sweet.
Your head totally clears.
You feel completely, momentarily relieved of the come down.
Your speed returns to its regular pace and you gain a plus one to all checks and saving throws for the next hour.
Third time literally wasn't you all look up. Oh, his skin is glowing.
Yes. I love making decisions.
Oh, my goodness. So wait, wait, wait. You said. Okay, so speed is back to normal. Yeah. And you have for the next hour. You have a plus one to check. I have got to be. Which is huge, the most tanky rogue to ever have existed. Yes, my man. You're like a rogue. That's what your class is. You're a rogue. A rogue in name. You're a rogue doing direct melee with a long sleeve.
Oh, this is so. Hey, man, multi class is a thing. Who knows? Anyway, what's the party? Oh, you're in the room and you've still got the snuggle mimic on your back.
[02:21:44] Speaker A: Yeah.
[02:21:45] Speaker B: And as the gas goes over you goes.
[02:21:49] Speaker A: Ravina looks sargon and goes. Third time is charm. Yeah, I just let there. I want to go read what's on the thing, please.
[02:21:58] Speaker B: Yeah, same Zaire treads. Up closely so that you can see.
Thern stays back here because she can't read. The three of you all gather up closely.
And as you all get close on his chest. As you all step through the door behind you and disappears in smoke, just like all the others.
And as you all are standing in the room, it's a trippy space because you guys, you've never seen a disco. You've probably never seen a kaleidoscope. You've never seen color.
No, I mean, you've seen. Some of you. Not all of you have seen stained glass, but none of you have ever stood in a space where everything was colored. Lights it, for lack of a repetitive joking term, feels magical. Right? And in the space as you all stand there. What kind of magic? A saving through or check technique.
Sorry, what? As you're saying, I. I think it was good. I just didn't understand. I. I had a thought and it did not come out right. Okay.
As you.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, so pin on the chest there is a note which says, I'll free the town if you'll take the chance.
First you must strike the statue without a glance.
You can be the hero of this day, but only if you'll be brave enough to prance to Prince.
[02:23:22] Speaker A: I can be the hero.
[02:23:23] Speaker B: Okay.
And the clay just absorbs the blow. There's no effect.
[02:23:29] Speaker A: Can you read it one more time?
[02:23:30] Speaker B: Yes. It did get cut short.
I'll free the town if you'll take the chance.
First you must strike the statue without a glance.
You can be the hero of this day, but only if you'll be brave enough to prance.
[02:23:46] Speaker A: I think it's a dance off. I close my eyes and I punch the statue.
[02:23:50] Speaker B: Okay. So closes his eyes. Literally closes his eyes.
As he punches the statue. It fully connects with the face. The head turns and it turns back.
Oh, no. And I need everybody to roll initiative with this. It was literally just punching it without letting. Looking. I was totally going to start dancing.
[02:24:08] Speaker A: I think I'm going to start dancing. I'll free the time if you take a. If you'll take the chance. First you must strike.
[02:24:14] Speaker B: Dude.
First you must strike without a glance.
[02:24:19] Speaker A: I'm so hot on initiative. Let's go. Also, I'm going to roll my hand.
[02:24:23] Speaker B: Oh, you don't. That has worn off the. The advantage on initiative. Okay. That's not for the whole session. But I know that you. I know that you roll. Just. Just roll again. Okay. It's okay.
So 19 for Argyle. That's going to also be a 19 phenomenal.
What did we get? Ravina?
[02:24:40] Speaker A: 18.
[02:24:42] Speaker B: Okay.
And then for Zeras. Wow. Just not good.
Zeras is not having the best day. No.
She faces cannot roll initiative, so the dragons are low. Oh, my goodness.
[02:25:01] Speaker A: Is it the same exact initiative?
[02:25:03] Speaker B: I'm not gonna bother writing it. I'm not gonna bother writing it. Our initiative is how many sets of three do we have? I rolled three. Not ones. Three. 23 NAT. 20s, right? Earlier, you all rolled three 20s at the same time.
I have gone through a door three times. You've gone. You've gone through the door three times. Yeah, there were. There were three snuggle mimics. There were three chambers. To this match, there are three player characters. We played our last Prager Corps episode exactly three years ago to the day. Oh, my gosh.
What is happening right now? We've gotten the same initiative three times in a row. Dm, I think the name of this. I know you have it named already, but. No, I think this is adventure 433-333-3333.
[02:25:45] Speaker A: You know, three three three is my angel number. Yeah, how do you just.
[02:25:50] Speaker B: It's whichever number makes you piss yourself.
Anywho, anyway, moving on.
I'm not gonna bother writing our initiative. It goes Nectin Argyle, Ravina Dragons. All right. Oh, I haven't rolled. For the goal is last.
[02:26:09] Speaker A: That's.
[02:26:10] Speaker B: That's. I rolled a five. That's crazy.
[02:26:13] Speaker A: First, you must strike without a glance.
[02:26:17] Speaker B: Guys, that was so crazy.
Yeah, it's Dex is a negative one. It goes last. That's crazy.
I'll free the town if you'll take the chance. First, you must strike the statue without a glance. You can be the hero of this day, but only if you'll be brave enough to prance. Okay, so, anywho, initiative has begun, so you're at the top, but before you can do anything. Okay, the lights. Actually, this is the wrong music.
Hold on.
Oh, no. The lights.
The lights.
No, hold on.
[02:26:53] Speaker A: Hold on.
[02:26:56] Speaker B: I'm looking at the music.
I can't read anything.
Yeah, this one. This one. So the lights begin flashing back and forth, and the space turns into a disco.
And as it does, there's this wave of gas, of green, sparkling gas, which fills the space. And you hear.
You're gonna look so stupid. And I everyone to give me a charisma saving throw. Including the golem, It fails. Okay.
18, 6. What'd you get, Ravina?
[02:27:47] Speaker A: 21. 21 Charisma.
Nothing.
[02:27:54] Speaker B: Oh, the dragons failed.
So funny.
[02:27:59] Speaker A: Dragons dancing. What do they look like when they dance?
[02:28:02] Speaker B: Oh, Zeras fails.
Almost made it. Almost made it. And Cern died. Bombs.
So everyone but Ravina failed.
[02:28:12] Speaker A: Which is weird because she's the bar.
[02:28:15] Speaker B: You had an 18. Oh, yeah. That spell DC wasn't low.
Yep.
And all of you, false subject to the spell, including the clay Golem, which is CR9, by the way.
Yeah. If those earlier fights felt easy, it's because they. It's because they.
Let me tell you, it's not a bone Golem versus it's not a.
The bone. The bone devil. Will. Yeah. It doesn't even matter.
It's no matter. We still all almost died.
We can only hit one of you guys and we almost died. Okay, okay, I digress. You all are affected by Otto's irresistible dance.
[02:29:02] Speaker A: Yes.
[02:29:04] Speaker B: So it's cast over the entire chamber.
You all are currently comically dancing in place, shuffling, tapping its feet and capering. However. However you want to interpret that a dancing creature must use. Yes.
[02:29:20] Speaker A: Sorry. Never mind. Does this count as being charmed?
[02:29:24] Speaker B: It's enchantment. Yes.
[02:29:26] Speaker A: Okay.
[02:29:30] Speaker B: The dancing creature must use all of its movement to dance without leaving its space and has disadvantage on dexterity saving throws and attack.
[02:29:40] Speaker A: Oh, you can move on.
[02:29:45] Speaker B: Disadvantage on.
[02:29:46] Speaker A: Dexterity saves and attack rolls.
[02:29:47] Speaker B: While the target is affected by the spell, other creatures have advantage on the attack roll against it. Assuming they're also not targeted. That's everybody. So nobody has as an action a dancing creature.
It says wisdom savior for this. But this effect on the room and space. I'm gonna keep making a Christmas can repeat a Christmas regain control.
I'm not. I'm not reading this direction as it is. I'm modifying some things for the room.
[02:30:12] Speaker A: Space Rose starts seeing or Robino starts seeing you all dance and she starts running.
[02:30:19] Speaker B: So at the top of initiative nect. And it's you.
First of all, how are you getting down? I am going to just start doing the robot. Excellent. So what is that means the golem. Would it be the golem? Yes. So as you're doing the golem, you're just. And it's. What's your next also be doing the golem?
[02:30:44] Speaker A: Phenomenal.
[02:30:45] Speaker B: Yes, yes, yes. It will. It will.
What's your. What's your dex modifier? Your acrobatics modifier. My acrobatics modifier.
Okay. 5. Because of the. It's honestly pretty good. Okay. It's pretty good. You're over there like. Ah, yeah. You get the motion and you're doing the thing where you're like popping and locking slightly and like. Yeah, that's pretty good.
That's what real fantasy role play is. Dancing, though.
Said all the white people in that podcast. So that's actually not true. I'm pretty good at dancing, so I can just do my. I just don't. You can make a Christmas try and ghost as an action, right? Or I can just attack like normal.
[02:31:24] Speaker A: I don't know.
[02:31:26] Speaker B: To either try an action to try and end it, or you can attack with disadvantage against the clay. Goal. I'm going to just try and attack with disadvantage. Okay. First, I'm you. Plus one.
Oh, yeah.
[02:31:37] Speaker A: Plus one.
Oh, you have a. You have a red.
[02:31:43] Speaker B: I don't think you can get lower. Oh, I wish it was advantage.
Does a.
Does a 10 hit. You pull out your sword, and you.
And as you. You, like, go to swing, but then you invite involuntarily, like, jerk to the side, and you just take the sword and just against the ground. All right. And it just doesn't find purchase at all. Okay. As a bonus action.
I can do bonus actions still, right?
Can I. I can. I can't. Okay.
[02:32:12] Speaker A: I can't.
[02:32:15] Speaker B: I can't take dash. Disengage, or. No, you can't move. You can't leave your space.
Yeah. Goodness gracious. All right. Yeah. I think that's my turn. It is.
All right, next initiative is Urgle. What are you doing, Urgle?
[02:32:27] Speaker A: I would like to. Stillness in mine. Just stop it, please.
[02:32:31] Speaker B: Nice.
Oh, my goodness.
The only reason I hated that is because my friend. My friend. My female friends in grad school made me go to a couple frat parties. And that is absolutely just, like, being fully convinced that I am good at this. And I'm adding.
[02:32:51] Speaker A: I was totally. I told Abby, you gotta have the red solo cup in the other hand.
[02:32:55] Speaker B: Yeah.
[02:32:55] Speaker A: Yeah.
[02:32:55] Speaker B: And then it's. Yeah. So you're doing that.
[02:32:58] Speaker A: And then I. And then I close my eyes and I say, wait, I'm sober.
[02:33:04] Speaker B: Inspiration girl. Use it. Okay.
[02:33:09] Speaker A: Oh, my God. And then I. And then I. I go.
[02:33:15] Speaker B: So you go. You. I'm sober. And then you put your hands together in the fighting pose, and you are fully free.
Is it an action to use st.
[02:33:23] Speaker A: Yes. Okay.
[02:33:24] Speaker B: So you are freed.
[02:33:25] Speaker A: Yeah.
[02:33:26] Speaker B: And that's that.
[02:33:27] Speaker A: Okay. Can I make a strategy check? Uhhuh.
[02:33:31] Speaker B: Depending on.
Yeah.
[02:33:37] Speaker A: Props.
[02:33:39] Speaker B: You get the feeling the prancing line is about, like.
[02:33:42] Speaker A: I cast a spelling.
[02:33:44] Speaker B: All right, Next up in the initiative is.
Yes.
[02:33:50] Speaker A: Not to be the kid asking about the homework, but I am on top of the dancing.
[02:33:53] Speaker B: You are.
Yeah.
So you're not charmed, but Zeras is.
[02:34:00] Speaker A: So can I attempt to get off? What's he doing?
[02:34:04] Speaker B: Yes, we do need to be specific about that.
Zeras is dancing.
If you had to guess what genre Xerus was, what would you guess? And that is what's happening.
Zeras is splaying his wings. He's moved his legs wide, and he is going.
And he's, like, swinging his head by the ground, scraping his horns back and forth on the ground, carving into it. His horns are literally harder than the marble, and they're sparking.
You know his rings. Yeah. They remind me of the metal font that's on all the album covers. Yeah, that's on my toolbox.
As his head is swinging back and forth and scraping his wings in the same patch. Very nice. I. I need to start with the dictator. Same throw, just to remain, like, upright.
[02:34:54] Speaker A: Seven.
[02:34:55] Speaker B: You go. He goes. And at once throw. He, like, throws his head a different direction. You go fly. Now, here's the. Here's the important thing, bro. Here's. Here's the thing that we all need to remember. We need to remember that Zeris has a strength of 19 and weighs a thousand pounds. And you weigh 30.
Yes. 36. 36. Under 40 pounds.
[02:35:18] Speaker A: 36 pounds.
[02:35:19] Speaker B: You do not.
You don't fall off, Xerx. You go flying.
I need you to roll a D4 for me, Okay? And then a second one four.
That's six. Six times five is 30.
You go. 5, 10, 15, 20, 30. You fly into the wall. So Zeris, like, head bangs, and Ravina goes.
[02:35:52] Speaker A: She.
[02:35:53] Speaker B: And she hits the wall. Have you guys. Have you ever seen that really old YouTube video of a bunch of Russian teenagers standing in the gym? And it's super grainy. And one of them shout. One of the teenagers shout something at all the other teenagers that I don't know. So sorry. Any Russian listeners. He's like.
And then he turns and runs full speed at the wall and jumps sideways flat into the wall and goes.
And so Ravina goes.
[02:36:15] Speaker A: Ravina goes.
[02:36:17] Speaker B: Just falls down. That's so good, Raina.
You're going to take four points of bludgeoning damage. You are prone on the ground.
I'm going to say that's functionally your movement.
You get up from the ground, your nose is bleeding, and you're just like.
And you're up. You're up. And, like, you're like. You're seeing stars and you're blinking and confused. What are you doing in your turn?
This session's awesome.
This has to be. I. This is one of our. This is one of my Favorite one shots. I think this is going to be a top five one shot for me. And that's crazy to say, but this is up there with North Storm and.
[02:36:56] Speaker A: In the woods I'm going to have shatter on the Phenomenal.
[02:37:05] Speaker B: Phenomenal. Okay.
What is it? Con saving throw.
[02:37:11] Speaker A: Yeah. It is calm.
[02:37:13] Speaker B: Is it?
I use it all the time. How much as the DM who's dealt with it. I rolled the same number.
[02:37:23] Speaker A: Wait.
Creature made of inorganic material.
[02:37:28] Speaker B: This has disadvantage.
So actually that means I need to roll again because this has advantage against spells. So I need to roll.
I need one. I need to roll once. No. When you have advantage and disadvantage, they cancel. So I need to give one straight roll.
[02:37:42] Speaker A: Yeah.
[02:37:44] Speaker B: That was a NAT one. Excellent.
[02:37:49] Speaker A: I'm gonna pick a different 3D 8 Thunder D.
That's 14.
[02:38:07] Speaker B: Damage.
[02:38:08] Speaker A: Thunder damage.
[02:38:09] Speaker B: Phenomenal.
Ro. What is it that you play?
[02:38:15] Speaker A: I played.
It's weird because I don't have Song Blur, but I play something kind of metal. But it's on the loot.
[02:38:25] Speaker B: That's cool. It sounds like a really good scale.
[02:38:28] Speaker A: Yeah.
[02:38:30] Speaker B: And as you do, there's this.
As the force thunders outward, it shakes the golem and some of it like cracks a little and some clay falls off. And then it looks up, took some damage and then it goes back to going. Yes, Charlie Brown.
It's just cha cha. Real smooth.
Is my mimic affected by this drum too?
Yes.
And so as it attached to me. Yes. Okay. As its arms are holding on, it's just. I mean, your mic doesn't have a butt. It has a bottom of its wide base trunk. And it's just doing a tiny little mimic twerk. Just like angels on your background. I love it.
So he's going to get this advantage on.
I guess he doesn't really do anything. No. Okay. Just snuggles you. Just snuggles you. All right. Cool. He's a snuggler.
[02:39:25] Speaker A: Brings the item.
[02:39:27] Speaker B: I love it. He's technically a creature.
[02:39:29] Speaker A: That's such a crazy creature.
[02:39:31] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah. I'm keeping this forever and you make this thing last. It's a really powerful item to possess.
[02:39:38] Speaker A: Yeah. For real.
[02:39:38] Speaker B: It's just protecting it is difficult as 59 health goodness. Yes. Yeah.
Okay. Okay. So it's the dragon's turn.
Zeras is going to try and.
Because he can't use his breath weapon like this. So he's going to try and make a Christmas.
Can you imagine? Just tossing acid everywhere he fails.
And so he continues to go.
And you can hear he just goes.
So he's so Pissed. Every once in a while he stops and goes like.
And then he goes back to like, thrashing. And he's. He's pissed. Do you have a song in mind that he may be dancing to? Absolutely.
Listener. It's.
It's Slaughter to Prevail Viking. Okay. And I'll play that for you guys later. He's Slaughter Viking by Slaughter to Prevail is going in his head. Might be the most intense song I've ever heard. There's also Murderer by Impending Doom. But that's our potato patas.
So it's Thern's turn.
She's gonna try and end it.
2.
She's just. She's just in place, low to the ground, just shimmying up and down.
She's just going.
She's super pissed.
[02:41:00] Speaker A: She's like a cat, like dancing before it bounces. And she's not doing the electric slide.
[02:41:06] Speaker B: And her ear.
No, it is a good joke, but she doesn't have the physical dexterity for it. And her ears can pin backward like a pat, like a cat. So her ears are backward and her pupils are dilated and she just looks super pissed. And she's just hissing angrily as she shimmies. Super pissed. This isn't. This isn't dancing enough. We'll pick a different one. That one's a little too. We'll go with this one. This is the classic.
It's the mimic's turn.
Okay. You're not missing any hit points, are you? No. Yeah, neither of us are. He snuggles you warmly and goes to the music. Cool. Okay.
Oh, wait, I have a monster.
[02:41:40] Speaker A: Oh, yeah.
[02:41:42] Speaker B: It is going to swing at you with disadvantage. You try to swing it.
I tried to swing it.
You want.
[02:41:50] Speaker A: You tried to swing it.
[02:41:54] Speaker B: Actually, it's going to start by casting haste on itself. Oh, what does that do? It hastes itself. And now as a plus 2 to AC has advantage on dexterity, saving throws. And it can make an extra attack.
[02:42:06] Speaker A: As a bonus action.
[02:42:10] Speaker B: What's your AC? 16 meets. It beats it. He rolled a 16 on his first attack.
The second one, his second One is a 27 and his third is fails. His third is like a 13.
So we hit with two.
You'll be fine. You'll be fine.
You'll be fine.
Yeah.
[02:42:41] Speaker A: That'S something.
[02:42:44] Speaker B: Yeah.
[02:42:45] Speaker A: Waste is an action.
[02:42:47] Speaker B: It is.
This is a funky thing.
[02:42:50] Speaker A: Okay, okay.
[02:42:51] Speaker B: It's.
It is special.
[02:42:56] Speaker A: Okay.
[02:42:56] Speaker B: It is special.
[02:42:56] Speaker A: I'm gonna kill.
[02:42:58] Speaker B: It is very different. Okay, okay. So 17 plus 14 is 31, plus 5 is 36. You take 36 points of bludgeoning damage as one massive fist careens you across the face, and it hits you in the jaw.
You feel a.
And your jaw breaks a little. And then the next fist comes around the stomach. And the worst part is it's totally incorporating this into the dance. It's crumping. So it's like.
And it gets you right. Even in your gut. As it hits you in the gut, you feel a little. You feel a rib pop slightly out of place.
Also, I need you to make a constitution.
[02:43:36] Speaker A: Satan and Arvinia doesn't have any healing.
[02:43:40] Speaker B: 18.
You succeed. And that's a good time.
Yep. From 51.
Yep.
[02:43:50] Speaker A: You only have 51 hit points.
[02:43:51] Speaker B: Yeah.
[02:43:52] Speaker A: How many do you have? 52.
[02:43:55] Speaker B: That I didn't see a gift. I mean, I'm pretty.
[02:43:59] Speaker A: No, I mean, that's.
[02:43:59] Speaker B: I think. What's your. What's your constitution?
Yes. Because you have 12. It's because you have a 12 inch. Yeah. Okay. But it's okay.
Well, rogues aren't the beefiest boys. Yeah.
[02:44:08] Speaker A: I was thinking. I was picturing Just because there's not.
[02:44:12] Speaker B: You are rogue, yo. Yeah. No modifier for guests. Kong's low. You're a rogue. It's okay. That has plenty of hit points. Clay Golem is just not a joke.
I need to get out of this dance immediately. Yep.
[02:44:24] Speaker A: I'm in danger as the Clay Golem.
[02:44:27] Speaker B: We go back to the top of the acton. It's your turn. I'm gonna roll at disadvantage.
Charisma, right? Yeah.
Why are you. Why are you at disadvantage on the prism roll? What? No.
[02:44:38] Speaker A: Wait. You have.
[02:44:40] Speaker B: I thought it was because you have a BS plus one. I thought it was because of the dancing thing. You have disadvantage on deck saving this.
Oh, my God. Well, that first. The first one I did last was still the lowest. It doesn't matter. Yeah. Okay. Six is not gonna do it. Six. Yeah. Six. I'm not.
[02:44:55] Speaker A: Okay. Yeah, bro.
[02:44:57] Speaker B: So you don't get out. Nope.
That is your action.
But you do have a little buddy. I do have a buddy. And on your back, he goes like, kind of empathizing.
And you.
[02:45:11] Speaker A: We should get in between.
[02:45:13] Speaker B: How did I make a 6, 7 joke? You said 6. Not gonna put it right.
[02:45:17] Speaker A: Yeah. And then you said six, seven. Did you not. Am I losing it?
[02:45:20] Speaker B: I didn't hear that. Jackie, I just want to ask you. Do you think I would literally ever.
[02:45:26] Speaker A: I didn't think you would. That's why I was trying to make sure.
[02:45:28] Speaker B: I like to kid. You know me better than that. You take six points of healing.
That's a little better.
21.
I need to get off the Internet. Yes, you do.
All right, it's Argyle's turn, if anyone wants to help him out.
[02:45:44] Speaker A: Okay, I am going to.
I'm going to run roll to hit with my quarter stack.
[02:45:51] Speaker B: Take it. A die.
[02:45:55] Speaker A: Good gracious.
[02:45:55] Speaker B: What you get there, bud?
[02:45:56] Speaker A: That is going to be a six.
[02:45:59] Speaker B: Not so much.
[02:46:00] Speaker A: Do I.
[02:46:01] Speaker B: Okay, that misses.
[02:46:04] Speaker A: How does a 15 sound?
[02:46:06] Speaker B: 15 will hit.
[02:46:07] Speaker A: Okay.
[02:46:08] Speaker B: Bonus action for your blows.
[02:46:10] Speaker A: Yes.
[02:46:11] Speaker B: Okay.
[02:46:11] Speaker A: You need to like.
[02:46:13] Speaker B: Yeah, you. You can roll it in your shot.
[02:46:15] Speaker A: That is gonna be an eight.
[02:46:16] Speaker B: Okay.
[02:46:17] Speaker A: What do I add to my fists?
[02:46:21] Speaker B: Sorry, you have.
Can I see your player's handbook real quickly? I think you have ki powered strikes.
[02:46:29] Speaker A: Yeah, they are.
[02:46:30] Speaker B: They're magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance.
[02:46:33] Speaker A: I do.
That's true.
[02:46:35] Speaker B: That's good. Because otherwise he'd be resistant.
[02:46:38] Speaker A: Oh, so he's.
[02:46:39] Speaker B: Okay, so. But you have key power strikes. You're fine. So you said that was eight damage?
[02:46:44] Speaker A: Yeah.
[02:46:47] Speaker B: Okay. And so now your flurry of blows is going to be. You're rolling a D20.
Yeah. But at your level, your. Your unarmed damage value is increased to a D6.1 E6.
Or your martial arts value is D6.
So you. You'll spend a key point. You'll roll the hit. If you hit, it'll be six plus your decks.
[02:47:12] Speaker A: So do. Am I still adding my decks to my rocket?
[02:47:15] Speaker B: Yeah. Your roller hits the deck.
Oh, no. Another one.
[02:47:20] Speaker A: So.
So that's not true.
[02:47:25] Speaker B: One of your. One of your staff strikes. Strikes it. And the clay structure. You expected to be soft, but did you? Yeah, strikes it does. It doesn't really make much of an impact. With the next strike, you cleverly turn your staff and you strike it in the face with your butt of your staff.
And you watch as its head moves backward and part of the face falls off. You did some damage, but then as you move with your fist, you're just impacting. Hard play. It doesn't seem to make any real damage.
[02:47:52] Speaker A: Okay.
[02:47:53] Speaker B: And that's your bonus action as well. So that's your turn.
[02:47:55] Speaker A: Yeah.
[02:47:55] Speaker B: All right.
[02:47:58] Speaker A: No. Okay, that's fine.
Cool.
[02:48:04] Speaker B: You can.
[02:48:05] Speaker A: What do you want to move if I move? One, two.
[02:48:09] Speaker B: This is. You can't move to the space that's there exist. And he's large.
He can't move through this space.
[02:48:16] Speaker A: Okay.
[02:48:18] Speaker B: I will make you this one thing. You are a monk.
I will let you try to make an acrobatics check to try and flip flop over somebody. It's just gonna Be. It's gonna be double. It's gonna be double movement. But here's the thing, Xericing. So if you can stay here, you can try to flip over him. If you succeed, you'll get around. If you fail, you will get hit by.
[02:48:41] Speaker A: Okay, I'm not gonna do that. He's a dragon.
[02:48:43] Speaker B: Okay. Okay.
[02:48:45] Speaker A: But thank you. I appreciate.
[02:48:46] Speaker B: Absolutely.
[02:48:47] Speaker A: That's a fun option.
[02:48:48] Speaker B: Yeah. I just thought it'd be funny if you're flying. Flying again. But what's the disadvantage I take again. I'm sorry, Dex. That's it.
Go get him. Dude.
[02:48:58] Speaker A: Is the that like steak in the clay golem? Is that still in him?
[02:49:04] Speaker B: Yeah, it's punched in there.
[02:49:06] Speaker A: And it's metal.
[02:49:07] Speaker B: It's metal.
[02:49:07] Speaker A: I'm gonna cast metal.
[02:49:09] Speaker B: I see where you're going.
[02:49:12] Speaker A: Because that'll keep going through the round. Yeah.
So I'm gonna get kind.
[02:49:16] Speaker B: He.
[02:49:21] Speaker A: Is.
Just works, right?
[02:49:24] Speaker B: It's. This is one of the only spells in 5e that just works. As you start plucking away in your loot at. Through the fire and the flames, you all watch as. As the stake in its. In its chest goes and starts glowing red and the fire that's attached to it or the paper burns up in fire.
[02:49:46] Speaker A: That's 11 points of fire damage.
[02:49:50] Speaker B: Excellent.
[02:49:50] Speaker A: Wow. And then it says in twist, but you can use a bonus action on each. So your turns cause damage again during that. Though on the bonus actions, it says the creature must succeed on a con, save for those two.
[02:50:03] Speaker B: If it fails, it has to drop when it's holding. But it can't drop it. It's embedded in it. So on these just bonus action, you do it again and again and again and again. Jackie, that was a really sick call. Combat isn't about making the right choices. But that was really dope strategy. Any bonus action, it's fine if you don't.
[02:50:20] Speaker A: As I do that.
I'm giving inspiration to you.
[02:50:28] Speaker B: Thank you.
[02:50:29] Speaker A: Which means you have a D8 extra to.
[02:50:34] Speaker B: Can I use that? Does it have to go in my next roll or.
[02:50:36] Speaker A: No, you have it for the next 10 minutes.
[02:50:38] Speaker B: Yeah. You can use anything you want. Oh, I'm about to use savings. Yeah.
You're keeping track of the B conservations, right? It's kind of silly that I asked you.
It's the dragon's turn.
Xerx sees the danger. Or Zeras. Oh, my goodness. His name's not Xerxes. Xerx sees the danger that his allies are in and doesn't have a lot of faith in his ability to break this.
So he's gonna work with the rage.
And as the best equivalent, I can say is like Doom Slayer starts playing in his head from.
Yeah. So he's going to. What is. What is it? The only thing they fear is you. Whatever the song is. Oh. From Doom. Yeah. You know.
And as he starts playing in his head, he's just going to make his attacks with disadvantage.
Right?
[02:51:33] Speaker A: That's right.
[02:51:34] Speaker B: Yeah. Attack rolls are also disadvantage. Yeah. Ball. Attack rolls. Okay. While you're dancing.
No, no.
[02:51:42] Speaker A: He's got a good one.
[02:51:43] Speaker B: Or seven still hits.
Still hits.
He's pissed. He's. He's beefing. I. It probably doesn't totally work out with yalls magic items and stuff, but his CR is the level of yalls party. He's CR7.
Yeah.
Zeras is no jerk.
Second one will also hit.
[02:52:04] Speaker A: Nice.
[02:52:09] Speaker B: Third will miss. But he's gonna hit with one bite and one claw.
So he goes up with the first claw to reach, and as he rakes across the golem, like strikes him down with a face and he falls down Zari.
And he. He like goes up for a headbang. And as he does, he opens his jaw and pulls his horns down and headbutts the golem in it with his head. And then as he falls down, he does like, like, kind of like thrashing like they do in metal, but. But catches his claws in the chest and rakes it across the body.
He's got. He's pretty awesome.
He's going to deal with.
Man, so glad you guys decided to use late with those eggs. Could have just left them.
Seven. No, I'm serious. It was awesome. Seven plus four really changed the seven plus four. Yeah. Okay, I did math there for a second. I got you. He also. He has acid damage from his bite, but he finds that I truly, truly did not plan this. The golem is also immune to acid.
So. Wow.
[02:53:11] Speaker A: You're really just trying to make their mad is what you're trying to make.
[02:53:15] Speaker B: Your own NPC angry. The only. The only thing that is made of acid that we have fought was the one thing not immune to acid. Yep. Wow. Okay. 24 points of damage to the golem raking back and forth across it.
Okay.
He does a ton of damage. And the golem is starting to look almost cracked, almost bloody. And Zeras just sits there with clay caked in his horns and all over his claws. A big chunk is ripped out of the golem. And he's just sitting there hissing while thrashing. He's really pissed. All right.
Thorn's gonna follow the suit of her brother. No.
She knows it's not a good idea to get up in there. She's gonna try and break herself free.
Aggroll2 nat ones.
[02:54:06] Speaker A: Wow.
[02:54:07] Speaker B: She's not going anywhere. Snake eyes on a D20. Snake eyes on a D20. She's not going anywhere.
It is the golem's turn. Is it the mimic?
Yeah. Mimics with you? No, no. But from last time, that would have been. Right, yeah.
There's a lot of enemies all over the place now.
So the haste is only until the end of the next truck.
So let's see if he can recharge it.
He does not. He does not get the haste back.
So he only has the two attacks and he's at disadvantage.
Let's do one at Nekton and one at Argyle.
Let's get a hit from the 20s now for Argyle.
What's your AC, Argyle?
[02:55:01] Speaker A: 11.
[02:55:03] Speaker B: And with a 5, I still beat it. Still a 13.
So.
Doesn't it say that once you save, you're immune to it?
And so that sucks.
A con saving throw.
Yep. Okay, that was a D100. Let's not roll that one.
[02:55:31] Speaker A: Wait, save against what?
[02:55:34] Speaker B: It'll be clear.
[02:55:35] Speaker A: The dam.
[02:55:36] Speaker B: No, five.
[02:55:38] Speaker A: Something else.
No, that's not good.
[02:55:42] Speaker B: Oh, no.
[02:55:44] Speaker A: Okay, that's.
[02:55:45] Speaker B: Give me a number. Buddy's in trouble. Trouble. The damage isn't the problem. Jiren takes 16 points of bludgeoning damage. 16?
That's. Are you down 5 hp. Okay, also important, as you fail your saving throw, as it turns, it does this.
Sorry, this isn't funny.
It goes full of a dancing queen on you. So it just goes.
As you're hit over the head, your entire world rotates to the side and you hit the floor.
There is a burst of light when it hits you. And that 16 reduces your hit point maximum.
So your hit point maximum is no longer 51.
It's now 16 below 51. So your new hit point maximum is now 35.
Yeah.
33.
No, no, 35. Yeah. 35. So you now have a hit point.
[02:56:48] Speaker A: Max of 35 with five hit points for how long?
24 hours.
[02:56:55] Speaker B: I mean. Oh, to the end of this session. Right.
[02:56:58] Speaker A: Forever.
[02:56:59] Speaker B: It doesn't specify.
So I'm gonna assume it's. It's till the next longest. Because it isn't specified.
Yes.
[02:57:07] Speaker A: I'm not signing now.
[02:57:09] Speaker B: Okay.
Just making sure. Just making sure. Just making sure.
I was like, I'm sorry, what are we doing? Turns out I have a periat of healing.
Okay.
Okay.
Now for you thank you for not throwing both of those at me.
Thanks. I got your on a more Siri on a Halloween one shot maybe not died.
You take that feels good. You take 20 points of bludgeoning damage.
At the same time he dancing queens Naten he also nocturn nekton. He also dancing queens you and it breaks one of your ribs. So you take 20 points of bludgeoning damage. Have you recorded that?
Okay.
I also need a con saving throw.
Clay Golem's not messing around. No, I need to move.
[02:58:07] Speaker A: I have move deck 15.
[02:58:11] Speaker B: I I will count that roll as one.
Yes. And the DC is 15.
So you are not reduced from your hit point maximum by 20 on.
[02:58:23] Speaker A: How does he do that silly feature?
I don't like it. It's silly.
[02:58:34] Speaker B: Jim. I'd like to warn you that Spongebo feeling very silly.
That's the goal. We're back with Natasha. Top mission. What you doing there, bud? My, my.
Does that go first? You want it to go first? I would love it to go first. It goes after you. But let's let it go first. That I five points of heal. I'll take it. I'll take it. I'm at 10.
[02:58:57] Speaker A: My character wanted those to die, but my player of me so glad it didn't. Imagine I don't have healing spells. We all have one.
[02:59:05] Speaker B: Imagine if you let them all live the three I gave you.
Maybe.
[02:59:10] Speaker A: I mean, I wouldn't want to touch it.
[02:59:11] Speaker B: Maybe the GM is intentionally put those before the clay go. There wasn't a chance I could have put more than one on me. Right? You could have had all three.
You could have had 64 healing around.
I'm an one is better than none. I'm going to do one is better than none. I'm going to go ahead and roll.
[02:59:33] Speaker A: Just like damage is damage. Healing is healing is saving.
[02:59:38] Speaker B: Yeah. What was it at? Disadvantaged. Okay. Okay. No, not at disadvantage. Stop doing pets. One roll. Okay, so 12 and then I rolled this.
Plus four is 13 because you have one, plus four because you have a plus one. And then I also have a plus seven for my modifier. So that is.
Am I out? You're free. Yeah, free. I'm gonna use all of the.
Do you want a bonus action disengage? Oh, yeah. I think I shall actually. So that you can't get hit. That's great. That's great. That's a good idea.
Okay. Yeah. Bonus action disengage. That just means I just.
No opportunity attack move. Yes. Right. And where are you heading?
Yeah, right there on the wall. Excellent.
So you just. You finally like.
I don't know, whatever you do to break out mentally, he's just. He's just going to like, we're breaking free.
[03:00:35] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah.
[03:00:36] Speaker B: Look at that.
He's like robot and just.
[03:00:40] Speaker A: Yeah.
[03:00:41] Speaker B: On the Titanic.
And as you do, you.
And then you like, look up and you do like a quick barrel roll. As you do, you roll over the mimic who goes. And you like, you like dart up to the wall and you're like, your. Your jaw is partially broken. You're breathing raggedly. Blood is pouring out of your nose and your mouth and you're like.
And you're like close to death. You could die today. I could die. Okay.
[03:01:06] Speaker A: Okay.
[03:01:08] Speaker B: That was a good, good fallout.
[03:01:11] Speaker A: Could you take some of his drugs and it like.
[03:01:14] Speaker B: Oh, my gosh. I have one more.
Is it one actually smoked Ginger?
[03:01:18] Speaker A: No. You know, loud. If you just take a bunch of drugs.
[03:01:23] Speaker B: Drake comes like, he's like, I gotta calm my nerves.
[03:01:26] Speaker A: And every.
[03:01:27] Speaker B: Everybody around is like, what? I. I whip out a bong from my back.
[03:01:31] Speaker A: When you don't have any more food, you just take the drugs and fall out.
[03:01:35] Speaker B: Anyway. Anyway, don't do drugs. That's the message. Seriously, Every single door. Exactly. Don't tell me drugs go through the door.
[03:01:47] Speaker A: And then she decalc door.
[03:01:49] Speaker B: Anyway, moving on.
[03:01:52] Speaker A: Argyle.
[03:01:53] Speaker B: Yes. What are you doing, buddy?
[03:01:55] Speaker A: Attack with my sword.
[03:01:58] Speaker B: You have a sword? Yeah. Great. Oh, okay. I don't think you have it. Do you have a sword?
[03:02:03] Speaker A: I can. I. I'm just gonna attack with my fists.
Okay, I'm gonna attack, but not furious blows.
[03:02:12] Speaker B: Yeah.
[03:02:12] Speaker A: You can do that with my fists.
[03:02:13] Speaker B: You can do that.
[03:02:14] Speaker A: Do I get the feeling.
Excuse me. Do I get the feeling that is resistant to non magical attacks? Okay, I'm gonna attack with my fists.
[03:02:25] Speaker B: Yeah.
[03:02:27] Speaker A: Does a 15 hit.
[03:02:29] Speaker B: Yep.
[03:02:31] Speaker A: What's my D? A D6.
That's an 8.
[03:02:36] Speaker B: Nice.
[03:02:36] Speaker A: I'm gonna attack again.
Oh, does a.
[03:02:39] Speaker B: Totally. Yeah. That's in the 20s.
[03:02:44] Speaker A: That's a six, dope.
[03:02:49] Speaker B: So that was eight plus six. 14.
[03:02:50] Speaker A: Yeah.
And I'm going to use.
[03:02:55] Speaker B: He is looking cracked. Oh, yes.
[03:02:57] Speaker A: I'm gonna use a key point to disengage.
[03:03:00] Speaker B: That's. That's buddy. That's a good idea.
[03:03:06] Speaker A: Boom, boom, boom.
[03:03:12] Speaker B: I'm so sorry for what I did. That'd be the sound that happens when he gets cracked. Just.
[03:03:20] Speaker A: Mud a little bit. Yeah.
[03:03:22] Speaker B: Yeah. Mud seeping out of him. Mud out of orifices.
He's looking muddy. Oh, that's so good.
Ravina. We doing there Robbie.
[03:03:31] Speaker A: Well, first of all, it's going to take two da.
[03:03:34] Speaker B: Yes. Yes.
[03:03:35] Speaker A: Thunder.
No for fire.
[03:03:38] Speaker B: Oh, that's.
That's a bummer, dude.
[03:03:41] Speaker A: Four fire. Damage.
[03:03:43] Speaker B: And damage is damage. Damage is damage.
[03:03:44] Speaker A: And then I'm going to cast a shatter at it, because that's my other shatter.
Big one. Shatter at it.
So that is the. Yeah, that's clan save. Right?
That's awful.
[03:04:00] Speaker B: Yes.
Are you looking at the deck of anything?
[03:04:03] Speaker A: Yeah. And the fool.
You keep losing levels.
[03:04:06] Speaker B: Oh, I have advantage. Oh, boo.
Wow. I see.
[03:04:12] Speaker A: Well, you take half, though.
[03:04:14] Speaker B: Yes.
And you know what's really crazy? Greta still has that.
Yeah. You have the deck of many things in your pocket, dude. Hasn't come up all campaign.
[03:04:25] Speaker A: I'm too scared.
Is that happening permanently? Reduce your.
[03:04:30] Speaker B: No, I'm not telling you you have to use it. I'm saying you've kept it on your person. That's a choice. I wonder if that'll come up at any point. Yeah. What'd you say?
[03:04:38] Speaker A: We have a lot of things on our person that are a choice.
[03:04:41] Speaker B: 14.
[03:04:42] Speaker A: So seven points of phenomenal.
[03:04:45] Speaker B: Phenomenal. Phenomenal. Phenomenal.
[03:04:47] Speaker A: And that's all I can do.
[03:04:49] Speaker B: He's taking some damage. He's laced with cracks. Mud is pouring out of him. He's starting to, like, sloth off portions of his being.
Okay, one more time. She's going to try and get out of this.
No. And I rolled a 4.2 turns in a row.
Okay, Zer. This is going to Zeris. Oh, my goodness. Is going to take two attacks at disadvantage. Or three. Actually two. 17.
The double numbers is crazy. 24.
Still hits. Just hits. Oh, my gosh.
Oh, Mrs. By one. Okay, so again, still a ton of damage. Yes. So again, a bite and a claw. Okay, okay, Total is gonna be plus eight, so.
Oh, I got two ones on my 2D10. Okay, so I got snake eyes on my 2D10. Nine for the record. That's my third snake eye of the day. That's.
So that is 2 10. 19 points of damage.
[03:05:58] Speaker A: Oh, my gosh.
[03:06:00] Speaker B: Oh, that could have been so much better. But that's okay. That's okay.
I give the chance to get the Same some damage.
36.
[03:06:11] Speaker A: Wow.
[03:06:13] Speaker B: So Zeras again, thrashing and roaring the clay Golem, like, beats him over the head. And Zeras reaches up and, like, does a kind of twisting move that allows him to get his claws in the back of his head. He rakes down its back and rips out part of the tissue. And then he just jams its horn in its chest and Rips out more clay. The thing's falling apart.
Yeah.
[03:06:37] Speaker A: College of Persona is your.
[03:06:39] Speaker B: Yeah. Okay. My brain was not working.
[03:06:42] Speaker A: I was like, where's College of Persona?
[03:06:44] Speaker B: And then I was like, all right.
[03:06:46] Speaker A: That'S not in the playoffs.
[03:06:47] Speaker B: It's the clay Golem's turn and there's no one else in front of him. Cesarus it is.
He does not get his haste back.
So we only have the two attacks disadvantage hits, hits, hitting with both.
This is going to be a lot.
Can I get a D10?
Can I get a D10?
I only need the one. That's a D100.
It's not. 40 is very different than 4.
[03:07:26] Speaker A: Not for 6.
Yeah, you can just.
[03:07:35] Speaker B: 0 is. That's 25 plus 10. That's 35 points of bludgeoning damage to Zeris.
[03:07:43] Speaker A: But he has a lot of hit points. He's okay.
[03:07:45] Speaker B: Yeah, that's true.
[03:07:46] Speaker A: He's a big. He's a baby, but he's a big baby.
[03:07:51] Speaker B: That's a big baby.
That was a. That was a big portion of his hit points though.
So after being torn apart the. The Golem. You all watch as the Golem grab Zeras by the side of the head and just on his head and go and hits his head on the ground and a small tooth gets chipped out of his mouth and he leaking green blood. He looks back up at the Golem and now Zeras is going to make a constitution saving throw.
That was not a good roll. We're so fired, guys.
We're so fired.
He is going to take 20 of that point of damage as a max reduction.
Is this a rule that you added or is this in.
No, I am. I've made a resolution to try and use more of the I love home brewing but I'm doing it so much. I'm trying to use some monsters as they are stabilized. I still love to homebrew, but I'm.
[03:08:56] Speaker A: Like I'm gonna choose a normal magic item from this book that I have and not a funky one.
[03:09:03] Speaker B: That's what everyone does. I homebrew everything because I have a problem. I'm trying to get better. It's good to homebrew, but I'm trying to balance.
So anyway, top of initiative.
I have a proposition. Dm. I think of this. This is a proposition of a one shot. So sneak attack. If I have an advantage on the attack but no advantage is needed if additional enemy of target is within 5ft of it. If that enemy isn't incapacitated and I don't have a Disadvantage on the attack. So no. Is this an incapacitation?
Okay, so no. Zerus is very much up. You have sneak attack. Excellent. Can I flank and does that add on to it? No, because you can't get double advantage. Okay, cool. Well, I mean, if you.
Excuse me. Excuse me. You retain your sneak attack, but if you flank, you do then get advantage on your roll of hit.
Perfect.
Five. Yeah. Okay, cool. Yeah, I need to. I do need to keep track because I do not want to end up standing. So. Excuse me. Yeah. 5, 10, 15, 20. I have. Yeah, sorry. No, no, no, you're good.
[03:10:05] Speaker A: He's dead. We're out of combat.
[03:10:06] Speaker B: No one's ever made that joke. I have 10 more movement. That's perfect. I can. Okay, so what I understand now is I'm going to roll with advantage. With advantage to hit. Do I still have. I still have arctic inspiration. Okay. Do I roll this twice as well?
[03:10:22] Speaker A: No.
[03:10:23] Speaker B: Okay. And just roll before you decide to use it. No, no, no. Roll your D20. Yeah, you don't need the upper.
[03:10:29] Speaker A: Yeah, you don't have to.
[03:10:31] Speaker B: That's a. That's the point. Okay, but I. What if I wanted. That's. That's. We call that. How about. That's a critical hit.
That's. No, that's what we call crit fishing when you. When you roll again, just to see if you can get a 20 and hold. Okay, so that's double. I also love the highest volume thing that's come out of the supply was so your. Your neighbor's been like, that's been allowed. And then all of a sudden, I have rolled so bad. Okay, so well, you've rolled so bad and so good. Okay, so that's your. I can add this to my damage.
Right? Okay.
I'm going to use my action and cast booming blade.
So is it an action to cast booming blade? It's an action, but it's because it's an action to attack.
What? Here, Can I see booming blade. I'm confused. So under casting time.
Under casting time, when it says one action action, you have to cast that on your weapon before you attack, because that's your action. Does that make sense? So I, I read this as. It's okay, I read this as you. You brandish the weapon used in the spells casting and make a melee attack with it against one creature. I read that. Right. The action. It's. That's. And that's totally understandable. Very confusing. So. Okay. And that's what I did the last. Because you. And that's. That's. Okay. And. Well, and maybe I'm the one who misunderstands me, but the point being that, like, when a spell has a casting time of an action, that means you're using your action to cast the spell to do it. Now, let me. Let me review the language here, because maybe I'm wrong. I've never had a player use for me, so, no, it's a good cantrip.
I just haven't dealt with a ton of characters who are also.
Who are half casters. Okay. You brandish the weapon used in the spell's casting and make a melee attack with it again. Yeah. Okay. So you would cast it on your weapon like, before combat or on the first round or something. Okay, well, but it's one round. That's what I. That's what I was thinking, because I did read it and I was like, is this. Do I have to cast it? Let's do this. Let's do this. Okay. I don't. I'm confused. And when I'm confused, I like to not punish the player for my confusion. Okay. So let's assume that's how it works. Okay. Because I have to look this up later. That I'm. Because I genuinely. Right. And the way I like to think about it, I like to think that it's kind of my responsibility as the DM to understand how the rules interact. So if I don't, let's just assume it interacts in your favor. Okay. So excellent. You cast Booming Blade. I like this. I'm gonna. Yeah. So cast Booming Blade. It's all also just to set. Just to set expectations in the future. I think another expectation would be you probably need to say you're gonna do something on it before you know you're gonna crit. Right. Because, like, if, you know, you have critics. But again, that was. Yeah, I was planning to totally see if that's not what you did. No, just. Just for, like, future play. Right. Because then it can be like, I wait till I crit. I'm like, oh, well, now I use all my features, right? Yeah. Oh, I was. I'm trying to use all the features. I know.
Okay, cool, Cool.
Damage. Roll time. This is gonna take a second.
So because of booming blade, 1d8, that's a six plus one thunder damage. So seven.
I can help you record this if you like. Could you write down the numbers? I got you. Just as I roll them, I got you. So seven, 1d10 from your sword right there. Yeah. Yep.
Plus four slashing damage. So 11 plus three doubled. You crit. Okay, this is the part that's doubled.
Hold on. Okay, 22.
Because 11. 11 times two is 22. Right. Okay.
Plus three. Plus three. But here's the important thing to remember.
Sneak attack.
Your sneak attack is 46.
So I need you to roll 46 for me. Okay.
There's two more. D6. Thank you.
Can I borrow. Can I D6? Grab me.
6 10. 18 times 2 is 36. Okay.
So that means I need to. You dealt.
I have also.
Wait, no, that's feet. Let me check.
Extra damage. We did that already. You wanna.
I want to make sure I get this exact number right. Yeah. So, okay, to recap, I did 1d8 plus 1 thunder damage, which was. You. Did you double that? I did. Okay, 1d10 plus 4 slashing damage.
Plus 3. Uhhuh.
And. And your sneak attack. And my sneak attack, which was the. The 4D6. How much damage do you think you did? I have no idea. Yes.
50 something.
68.
As a level seven character. You just did 68 damage. Okay.
[03:15:19] Speaker A: Awesome.
[03:15:21] Speaker B: How do you want to do this?
Okay.
Okay. So. Booming. Okay. The sword is doing its vibrating thing, like the single thing, but instead, unlike last time, where it was just a single. And anticipation, it's like. It's like pulsing with this energy. And he's just gonna. Straight over his head, swing with his whole body down, and he's going to.
How tall is this thing? 11ft. 11ft. I'm 7ft, so I can easily reach its head. Absolutely no time. I'm going to turn and swing, and I'm going to behead it.
And as you.
As you hit it, there's just this thing.
And as you behead it, you shatter it because you.
And like, if you could see it at a molecular level, every inch that you're beheading is also exploding. So it, like, you know, you're beheading with emotion, but the appearance is just.
And it just launches to the side, and the body just turns into a pile of mud on the ground. Zeras is on the other side, blood pouring down his face. He looks up at you.
Nice.
And on that note, you all are out of combat.
That was intense.
And with the Golem dead, you guys sit there all bleeding, panting, and the new hire, Nekton is standing there panting.
Panting.
Not panty.
Not panting. He is, in fact, not painted.
So sorry for the permanent stain I have put on your character. No pun intended.
I don't whip worse. Oh, sorry. He's sitting there panting.
No, when I said I ripped my clothes, I meant all My clothes, actually. I've been naked the whole time. All my. Turns out. Turns out. All panties below or into a bra.
You know what's weird? It's like a leather studded arm.
[03:17:36] Speaker A: Just today, I'm not even kidding. Just today, I was thinking in my head, I wonder in Yellowburn, like, what is the underwear like? And do they wear bras? Like, in my head, I was going through that.
[03:17:50] Speaker B: So anyway, let's get those.
So anyway, anyway. Panting, Panting. No, but your warrior is standing there somehow. A rogue. I guess your battle tank rogue.
It really works, though.
This whole accidental battle tank rogue you built is worth. Accidental battle rogue. She stands there panting, and blood is pouring out of his nose. He's halfway to death. He's just.
And your sword is still thrumming with energy and there's splattered clay all around you. And all the lights stop and just go back to their somebody else. She's booming. Blake.
[03:18:29] Speaker A: Since I was living in an apartment at home, I do that all the time. And it happens, like at all hours of the day. And I have no idea what it is.
[03:18:35] Speaker B: The multicolored lights are just appearing in the chamber. No, it's okay. And there's one more of green sparkly gas just fills everything. And you guys all like, cough and blink your eyes, and when you blink them open, you guys are just standing outside the mine.
[03:18:54] Speaker A: Oh, cool. Sorry.
[03:18:58] Speaker B: Oh, cool. Sorry. So sorry.
Yeah, they'll know. I saw it on the mic.
Was that funny at 2:00am yeah, that's true. Whoa. Yeah, that's two. That should be. That's when you're having fun with the session. You all are just standing outside of the mine and. Oh, oh. Keep it together, abs. We're almost done. Oh, she's getting hysterical. She's the wall. The wall. We're getting to the point where everything's funny. All right, I'm going to stay focused.
[03:19:27] Speaker A: Well, you did say panty.
[03:19:30] Speaker B: It's hard to not laugh.
[03:19:31] Speaker A: That was really funny.
[03:19:33] Speaker B: She mess on my.
Anyway, in the epilogue, I'm gonna get that written on the next batch of panties. I get.
[03:19:47] Speaker A: What?
[03:19:50] Speaker B: It took me so long to put together what you were just saying.
It took me a long time to understand what you came there. I'm gonna go ahead and wrap this session up.
So dear. Good. Hey, hey, hey, hey.
Please let me dungeon Master this session. Okay, okay.
You guys appear outside the cave. I have this feeling all the time in class.
And Jackie's not breathing, crying, and turning around.
You all are gathered outside the cave.
Half of you halfway dead.
[03:20:30] Speaker A: Sorry.
[03:20:31] Speaker B: Listeners, my players are Hispanic, hysterical.
All right, I really want.
Okay, we have been put. We walk through it probably, and where you all have appeared outside the cave. Is anyone doing anything in particular?
[03:20:52] Speaker A: I want to meet the guy. I'm looking around for the guy.
[03:20:54] Speaker B: I want to meet the guy, too.
[03:20:56] Speaker A: I'm attending to our dragon babies. I'm like, are you guys okay?
[03:21:00] Speaker B: Zera's pretty seriously wounded.
He's bleeding from his mouth and from his eye. But he just looks up with like a grim determination and smiles and said, that was good.
We had fun.
And Thern comes and, like, sits down next to her brother, kind of concerned that he's so wounded. But he's like, he's like. He seems really glad about it, but he also lays down and kind of like pants like he's exhausted.
[03:21:25] Speaker A: But since we're just sitting outside this.
[03:21:28] Speaker B: I'm gonna use Song of Rest on everyone. Absolutely. You sit there and you play. And we don't have to set up the math, but as you play a tune kind of like this, just everyone taking a second and resting, people start to mend their wounds and you get hit points back. The hit point maximums don't re increase, but hopefully after arrest they will because it doesn't specify some. It does.
And there is. There's just a long pause and you all, you're just waiting there.
We try to return to town and get additional action.
[03:22:07] Speaker A: Yeah.
Well, I go through the Song of Rest and then I say, how long does that take? It's a short rest.
[03:22:14] Speaker B: So you guys sit in there for now. Yeah.
So if there's any roleplay or anything like that.
Can I retroactively do something? Yeah.
I'm going to wait till.
Wait. No. Gosh dang it. You said we blinked and we were just back out, right? Yeah. The smoke appeared and there's a puff and then we're back out. Okay.
Also, your mimic's still on your back. It is.
[03:22:34] Speaker A: That's going to freak.
[03:22:37] Speaker B: You're slowly regaining healing. That's good.
[03:22:44] Speaker A: Should we head back to the time and see if they're.
I like, I like puking and peeing.
Yeah. I like pace around the whole time that we're.
That we're short resting. And I'm just.
[03:22:58] Speaker B: As you're pacing, you hear a strange sound.
A dull, muffled kind of like.
And you realize it's coming from inside your clothes.
Huh.
Okay, wait.
So you start searching pockets.
[03:23:14] Speaker A: Yeah.
[03:23:15] Speaker B: And you find all the usual item.
And you pull out a little metal bell from your pocket.
[03:23:23] Speaker A: I was gonna say if you believe in doing it.
What does the bell do?
[03:23:29] Speaker B: You're holding a little. A little silver bell.
[03:23:32] Speaker A: I ring the bell.
[03:23:33] Speaker B: Okay. Did you do.
And not particularly anything, but you lower your hand.
Standing on the other side of nekton, maybe like 30ft away, with a weird look on his face, is a green dragonborn with curled horns and purple clothes and little slippers that curl up in front with bells hanging in front of them. He's just behind everyone over there.
Ravina just awkwardly waves and like. Because they're looking past you and turn around. Oh, there's a dude. Zeras sort of, like, sits up and stares. I put my hand on her. He, like, stays still, but he doesn't relax at all. Thern kind of, like, doesn't know what to do. Looks at her brother, also glares.
[03:24:21] Speaker A: I walk up and say, hi.
[03:24:24] Speaker B: He's like, got a weirdly still expression.
He's just standing there.
[03:24:29] Speaker A: Sam.
Hi. Nice to meet you.
[03:24:35] Speaker B: I see your hand.
Okay. Okay. You reach out and you are shocking grasped.
You take four points of lightning. Well, actually, his level, he's a hunter.
You take 13 points of lightning damage.
[03:24:56] Speaker A: Okay.
[03:24:57] Speaker B: As you're, like, shocked. And he goes, how much do you have left?
[03:25:03] Speaker A: Oh, you put me at seven.
[03:25:04] Speaker B: Well, but you also got a bunch of. Yeah, you're somewhere in the middle. Yeah. He gets this weird little smile and he goes, it's good to meet you.
Are you Argylle Aramai?
[03:25:16] Speaker A: I'm Argylle.
[03:25:18] Speaker B: That cleared up a lot for me. Thank you.
Your mom, epic rap battles from history. Apparently she mess on my veins.
[03:25:30] Speaker A: Our gal smiles and nods and he.
[03:25:32] Speaker B: Says he gets, like, a little uncomfortably close.
[03:25:36] Speaker A: And he goes, I like that one.
[03:25:44] Speaker B: There's a lot to my name. Don't hurt yourself. That was good. I like.
You're fun.
[03:25:50] Speaker A: Thank you.
You know, I just, like. I practice.
[03:25:54] Speaker B: Your practice?
[03:25:55] Speaker A: No, I practice a lot, but I'm don't say mean things.
[03:25:58] Speaker B: Right? Right.
[03:25:59] Speaker A: Yeah.
But, you know, back in my old days, I really practiced and said the mean things. So I got a lot of real practice instead of the practice.
[03:26:07] Speaker B: He's like, a little bored with you. And he's like, looking back at all your friends. And he goes, that's a dry.
It's actually two.
And he, like, kind of strokes his. His chin. He has, like, a goatee of, like, little black horns right here. So he strokes the horns and he.
[03:26:25] Speaker A: Goes, yeah, they're with us.
[03:26:28] Speaker B: That's a possession.
[03:26:29] Speaker A: Not a possession. It's a person.
[03:26:32] Speaker B: He gives you looks at him. Something goes, I understand, boss makes over Zeras and makes eye contact. Zeris, like, lowers his head and glares and he just goes, that's an interesting development.
[03:26:49] Speaker A: Argyle, like.
He, like, thinks for a minute and he's like, look, I know you're. He lowers his voice and he kind of like steps in and he says, look, I know you're a silly guy, but he.
[03:27:02] Speaker B: He leans, lowers his voice, squares, and he goes, I sell a goose.
[03:27:06] Speaker A: I know that. Yeah. Silly goose. But.
[03:27:09] Speaker B: Right.
[03:27:11] Speaker A: I mean, like, you seem like a powerful wiz guy. Are you. Do you think you'll be around for a long time?
Like, long as. Like, as long as those guys will be?
[03:27:21] Speaker B: No.
[03:27:22] Speaker A: Right.
[03:27:23] Speaker B: I certainly don't intend to. Right.
And those guys, depending on whether or not they're killed, outlive all of us in one way or another.
[03:27:36] Speaker A: You say, one way or another.
[03:27:40] Speaker B: I like you.
And he reaches up and he flicks you on the forehead.
And as he does, he flicks you on the forehead and he whispers.
And he whispers something along the lines of fat.
And as he flicks you in the forehead, there's this flash of, like, brilliant, intense green light.
Oh, yeah. I haven't put that together.
I need you. You would have liked the fungus to make.
[03:28:20] Speaker A: Gosh, they could do crazy things together.
[03:28:26] Speaker B: Chaotic.
No, no saving. No. Wait. What? I can't be. Remember that can't be right.
[03:28:34] Speaker A: He's going to turn me into beans.
[03:28:37] Speaker B: He's not like Nifty. They're a little different from each other.
[03:28:40] Speaker A: Nifty's little micer.
[03:28:42] Speaker B: Okay.
You.
Argyle, just disappears and turns into.
Argyle just compacts and solidifies and turns into a little marble figurine on the ground.
And Mesvit.
Yeah. Mesvet reaches down and picks him up.
[03:29:13] Speaker A: Am I conscious?
Conscious?
[03:29:16] Speaker B: Oh, you're a marvel figurine.
[03:29:18] Speaker A: Oh, I'm.
[03:29:18] Speaker B: Allow me to be clear.
[03:29:19] Speaker A: I'm gone.
[03:29:20] Speaker B: You are our marvel figurine. And he picks up, he rotates in his hand and he goes.
[03:29:25] Speaker A: Ravenna runs. Can I say that he's posed like this.
Ravenna runs over because she's. This is her friend that's.
[03:29:34] Speaker B: Now he's marveling at it. And he goes.
[03:29:37] Speaker A: What does he do to my friend?
[03:29:38] Speaker B: He talks less now.
[03:29:39] Speaker A: Can I say he's marbling.
[03:29:41] Speaker B: Noted in his head.
Just kidding. Yes, that's actually. He goes.
He's funny. Sorry. Your friend hands him over to you. Okay, good. I thought he's going to pocket it. You've got two dragons over there.
[03:29:55] Speaker A: Yes.
[03:29:57] Speaker B: That's what happen.
Like kind of rotates his foot back and Forth to the bell jingles.
I've walked over at this point. Okay.
[03:30:06] Speaker A: What are you getting at?
[03:30:08] Speaker B: That you've got two dragons?
[03:30:10] Speaker A: Yes.
[03:30:11] Speaker B: I think you misread me badly. I'm much more interested in this scenario.
What's going on? Inform me. Enlighten me.
I bothered to make that whole game for you. Tell me about your dragons.
[03:30:23] Speaker A: He's so Moriarty. This is Moriarty? This is Moriarty. Is my friend gonna turn back?
[03:30:33] Speaker B: What do you think?
Don't know, do you? But onto the dragons they were.
[03:30:46] Speaker A: We found their eggs about 12 years ago.
[03:30:52] Speaker B: Where do you find dragon eggs?
[03:30:55] Speaker A: Places.
[03:30:58] Speaker B: I like games.
[03:31:00] Speaker A: And we took them in and they hatched. And now they live with us.
And we raised them.
[03:31:12] Speaker B: Were you slaying dragons?
[03:31:13] Speaker A: No, we don't slay dragons.
[03:31:16] Speaker B: So who else had gathered up eggs?
[03:31:18] Speaker A: I don't know.
[03:31:19] Speaker B: They weren't me. Oh, you're a terrible liar.
[03:31:23] Speaker A: They were in a cave.
[03:31:23] Speaker B: You think I don't know a lie of omission.
You're bad at this. I like that. You're in the waters. This is fun. But you're far out of your depth.
That's fun. I like the game. Never mind. Keep lying.
This is good.
What's your name? Spooky And Zeras. Just little acid builds up at the teeth. And he goes.
And Therm just kind of looks concerned there. So I'm concerned with him.
This is fun.
We're gonna have to do this again sometime.
I don't think so.
I don't think. You do think. But that's not really the problem.
Okay. I like him best. And he snaps. And in your hand, your hand, your hand just to the ground. And you are. She has fallen. Ravine's fallen over on your side with her arm pinned to the ground. And you're laying there on the ground on top of her. Just. And you come and. And mes goes about her.
[03:32:32] Speaker A: And I stand up.
So what were we saying?
[03:32:39] Speaker B: I mean, if you are just going to leave this out. We've got dragons. Shove off. That's fine. I'll move on. But that's kind of boring.
[03:32:46] Speaker A: Well, I don't know what you want from us.
[03:32:51] Speaker B: He just rolls his eyes and like, looks like he gave us the okay to leave is what I did.
Oh, buddy, they gave you a sword. That's what matters.
Point is, I'm trying to see where this goes. Nothing interesting here. Just. I've got dragons.
[03:33:09] Speaker A: Look, we don't have dragons. We.
[03:33:13] Speaker B: We, Ravena. We haven't even come up with a verb.
He's just Gonna give a look and, like, make sure his lips are extra pursed.
What he's trying to do is convey the first part. She can't read your mind. Okay. You can give an insight check if you want.
[03:33:33] Speaker A: I. I had an insight check if you want.
So what would Nat 20.
[03:33:38] Speaker B: That was a Nat 20.
[03:33:39] Speaker A: What would you do with your.
[03:33:41] Speaker B: I was trying to convey that at the beginning of the session, I said a line about no one but me opens my mouth.
[03:33:55] Speaker A: So what?
[03:33:58] Speaker B: Less information, the better.
[03:34:00] Speaker A: Interested in dragons?
Just curiosity.
[03:34:03] Speaker B: I liked your first question better. It's not what I do with dragons, what dragons will do with me. I mean, you all are managing them. That's dragon.
What could happen with that?
[03:34:15] Speaker A: I don't think you would be good for.
[03:34:19] Speaker B: I don't think I've ever tried to appear good talent back there. Didn't think I was good.
One lady threw up out of her nose.
[03:34:31] Speaker A: It all came out of the nose?
[03:34:33] Speaker B: No, some out of the mouth and some out the nose.
Oh, my goodness.
I thought.
I was kind of hoping you wouldn't go through the third door to be one of them.
Be my. On it. But it's only fair you get the benefit. Why you kill my little family? Guys, that was a bit reckless.
It wasn't reckless.
[03:35:00] Speaker A: I don't like things that try to hug me.
[03:35:03] Speaker B: Clearly.
Thanks, Ham. All right. Well, I'm getting bored, so.
You rang? Did you need anything in particular?
[03:35:14] Speaker A: Did you, you know, drop the spell on the townsfolk back there?
[03:35:19] Speaker B: Of course.
You won the game.
Okay. I'm not interested in Almighty Power level.
If you've won the game, you've won the game.
[03:35:28] Speaker A: Thank you.
[03:35:29] Speaker B: You're trying not to smile.
[03:35:30] Speaker A: I think you need to find some friends.
If you had.
[03:35:34] Speaker B: I think I like me.
[03:35:35] Speaker A: If you had some dragons.
Try and teach him how to be well in the world.
[03:35:42] Speaker B: You're saying how to train your dragon?
[03:35:44] Speaker A: No, I'm. I'm trying not to pick up your accent.
[03:35:48] Speaker B: What I'm doing, It's hard, isn't it? It's infectious.
[03:35:52] Speaker A: Well, So if I. So is it how it works? If, like, if I ring, then I. You get to. You come in.
[03:36:04] Speaker B: I want to. If I want to. Right. But I like you, so probably right.
[03:36:09] Speaker A: How old are you?
[03:36:10] Speaker B: Do you see how much more fun he is? Try doing that.
[03:36:13] Speaker A: Ravina's standing there with her arms. I'm just looking him up and down. How would you do to help a.
[03:36:18] Speaker B: Dragon if you had a dragon?
Help a dragon? I don't know.
Help something boring. Find a habitat. Put it there. Consideration what can you do with a dragon? What are you going with? You. Where's the cr. You've got dragons. You know how many people in the world have dragons?
[03:36:35] Speaker A: None.
They're not plaything.
[03:36:40] Speaker B: Everything's a plaything.
Come on. All of us.
[03:36:46] Speaker A: Can you say that's what people do?
[03:36:49] Speaker B: Just like give him make a persuasion check.
[03:36:54] Speaker A: That's it.
It's from a play that I love.
Oh, I thought it was in that one. Why don't we all lean in?
[03:37:02] Speaker B: It was higher.
[03:37:04] Speaker A: That's an 18.
[03:37:05] Speaker B: He goes, that's what people do.
Again. Do you see how fun he. No.
[03:37:12] Speaker A: Right? I mean, I think that's all that I needed.
I'll be good for a while.
[03:37:19] Speaker B: This was fun.
I'll be back for more of this dragon business at some point. I like it.
And what? Alice?
And he just turns around and starts walking away, just jingling with his little slippers.
Turns back over his shoulder and goes, oh, sorry, almost forgot.
How long do you think the dragon thing is going to last?
He like leans past Argyle to the dragon, goes.
Looks back at you all.
[03:37:54] Speaker A: What do you mean, how long is going on?
[03:37:56] Speaker B: It doesn't sound like you have much of a long term plan on this.
That, you know, you're so good at that.
So good.
Never mind, never mind. I take it back. I do like you.
[03:38:09] Speaker A: You are good at it.
[03:38:11] Speaker B: You're funny in a different kind of way.
[03:38:19] Speaker A: Have you seen Sherlock?
[03:38:21] Speaker B: Because it's.
I'm not intentionally doing this.
[03:38:26] Speaker A: That's so bad.
[03:38:28] Speaker B: Do you want to be?
Are you actually what I'm asking? You've successfully on the calm down on the come down, so you don't need to be. Okay, if I don't need to be, then yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. I'll let you know if you are. I promise. Okay. I've got it written down.
It's gonna be a problem again at some point, but not right now. Sure.
[03:38:46] Speaker A: Would he know that? Well, the thing that I showed you earlier, I feel like that's the thing that he would comment on.
[03:38:53] Speaker B: What thing?
[03:38:54] Speaker A: I'm sorry? The haunted one. Heart of darkness eyes with Ravina.
[03:38:59] Speaker B: I mean, this is all above table talk. I can't say how he'd react. You'd have to engage with him as a character for that.
[03:39:05] Speaker A: No. Within her eye. It doesn't matter.
[03:39:07] Speaker B: I'll talk.
[03:39:14] Speaker A: Okay, well, I would shake your hand again, but I don't want to.
[03:39:18] Speaker B: I wouldn't do the same dirt twice. That's boring. Okay, three times.
[03:39:22] Speaker A: Maybe.
[03:39:22] Speaker B: Because humor comes in three.
[03:39:23] Speaker A: So how would you do it three times without doing it twice.
Okay. I'm not going to shake your hand again.
Said that, but I'm not going to say it.
[03:39:32] Speaker B: Right.
[03:39:32] Speaker A: Well, good to see you.
[03:39:35] Speaker B: Say he's funny. Tell me he's not funny.
[03:39:37] Speaker A: Like your questions about the dragons. I'm going to go back and.
Yeah.
[03:39:43] Speaker B: So ring if you want to have more fun sometime. But if you don't, just let me know when the dragon thing's gone badly wrong.
[03:39:50] Speaker A: Uhhuh.
For what?
[03:39:53] Speaker B: Never mind.
[03:39:54] Speaker A: And he keeps walking.
[03:39:56] Speaker B: All right?
And he gives you, like, a weird little smile.
And then he. He leans his head over at Zeras and he goes, be careful with people that won't let you fly.
And then he.
And. And then he gives Zerus kind of a serious look and nods.
Zerus looks at him.
They just kind of share a beat.
And then he turns back to Ravenna very gravely, and he goes, because if you're going to keep him from flying, he is your plaything.
And then he just turns around and starts walking away.
Okay. And he's just walking off.
[03:40:48] Speaker A: Yeah.
Okay.
[03:40:51] Speaker B: And the two groups separated. Okay. Nectar. You're just like. That's a weird 24 hours.
Yesterday morning, you were a guy on a ship with some drakes.
What's. Which furniture was the mimic.
You have this. You have the tiny little treasure chest. Okay. That's. That's wrapped around me. I like it. Backpack.
You guys reconvene. And th is kind of thinking, oh, look at theirs. Trying to get her head. He watches. Thern looks up and looks at Xerus's wings.
She takes a bot. Thinking about him. Zeras goes, yeah.
[03:41:41] Speaker A: I hold the bell up.
[03:41:43] Speaker B: Okay.
[03:41:43] Speaker A: And I look at Zeras seriously, and I say.
He takes a minute to, like, think. And he looks at the bell and he says, darus, if you ever want me to use this, let me know. I would give it to you, but.
[03:41:56] Speaker B: You don't have pockets, so I don't.
[03:42:00] Speaker A: This is. Let me know if you want to use this, okay?
[03:42:04] Speaker B: I want him to come back.
[03:42:07] Speaker A: Yeah.
[03:42:14] Speaker B: Y' all can't make me fly.
How are you keeping me from flying?
That doesn't make any sense.
[03:42:25] Speaker A: Ravina hesitates, and she kind of looks down for a moment.
[03:42:29] Speaker B: She's.
[03:42:33] Speaker A: I think maybe it's. If I'm understanding his riddles.
[03:42:46] Speaker B: You.
[03:42:46] Speaker A: You both know that we don't hold any.
Control over. You're your own being, your own mind.
We would never keep you from.
[03:43:03] Speaker B: I don't want to talk about this anymore. And he gets up on all fours.
[03:43:06] Speaker A: I put My head out and I he stops. I say, if you ever do want to talk about it, and if there's ever a day that you don't want to talk about it but you want the bell, just let me know. And it's okay if you want that, but we're here to help, even if that means ringing the bell.
[03:43:27] Speaker B: Stands there for a second, his claws like, digging in the dirt a little bit, and he goes, how long do humans live?
[03:43:38] Speaker A: I well, if you count my different races live different.
[03:43:46] Speaker B: That's what I'm asking.
[03:43:48] Speaker A: Well, you will live thousands and thousands of years.
[03:43:55] Speaker B: You are not.
[03:43:57] Speaker A: I could live a couple centuries.
[03:44:10] Speaker B: What did you say?
[03:44:11] Speaker A: She goes, oh, no, she doesn't.
[03:44:15] Speaker B: That's true. And then, and then the episode. So it ends with a.
It freezes. You're probably wondering how I got here, but he so sad.
What's T.J.
he's a, he's a wood elf.
[03:44:40] Speaker A: They live a long time.
I I, I tell them that. I tell her I could live quite a bit longer. I say, do you, do you know what a Druid is?
A Druid.
[03:44:55] Speaker B: Where's Katinka?
Huh?
[03:45:02] Speaker A: I don't know.
We haven't spoken to her in a while. Why?
[03:45:07] Speaker B: We should find her. And he gets up and starts walking back toward the ship.
[03:45:12] Speaker A: Yeah.
[03:45:16] Speaker B: Thern's standing there and she goes, katinka.
And starts falling after. Sarah's kind of confused what he said.
You guys are just kind of left there. I I follow that weird moment.
You guys are okay.
Town. Well, you could. No, you can go back. He's just be lining back to the ship and th's following.
[03:45:42] Speaker A: There. Th. If you guys want to go back to the ship, we're just, we can just finish up at the town.
[03:45:49] Speaker B: So they know he's, he's, he doesn't often walk at his full pace, but when he can't, when he does, nobody can keep up with him.
Throwing a little bit of a, you know, he's not, he's just outpacing you. He doesn't turn back. Thorn turns her head over her shoulder and she goes, okay. And then she starts like she has to kind of jog to keep up with him.
[03:46:06] Speaker A: Be careful.
[03:46:07] Speaker B: And she kind of looks to the dragons.
Does the team return to the town?
[03:46:14] Speaker A: Yeah.
[03:46:15] Speaker B: Okay. As you all head back from, like a distance away, there's some, like, waving, some smiling. Some people are happy. Ms. Ella is out there. As you guys get closer, she goes, no one's peed. No one's pooped, no one barfed. Good at One point a couple days ago, someone's doing all three at once, and nobody's done none of them.
[03:46:36] Speaker A: I mean, hopefully you'll, you know, do those things in a correct manner.
[03:46:41] Speaker B: Yeah, that's the idea. Not involuntarily.
[03:46:44] Speaker A: Do you guys need any help cleaning up or.
[03:46:48] Speaker B: She looks at the massive part of the ground statue and she goes, it's fine. What do y' all do to fix it?
Like a spell or something?
[03:46:58] Speaker A: Yeah, there were some weird traps basically, in your mines, but we got safe.
[03:47:06] Speaker B: To go back to the mines.
[03:47:06] Speaker A: Yeah, we got them all taken care of.
[03:47:09] Speaker B: Let's get it here. Okay, great.
[03:47:10] Speaker A: I wouldn't play any more games or take any weird statues from Jingly.
[03:47:16] Speaker B: No, I think. I think we're. I think that's a lesson you learned once.
And he puts, like, a hand on her shoulder and looks very serious. I really recommend that the entire town learn dancing.
What?
[03:47:33] Speaker A: What?
[03:47:35] Speaker B: Okay. Large.
This looks very grave. She like. It's kind of like a thousand yards.
She likes, gives like a. And she looks at, you know, like, you should learn dancing.
She's just like, okay, that's good. Do you want the gold?
[03:47:58] Speaker A: No.
[03:47:58] Speaker B: No. Yeah. Well, we'll tell the tale of the courageous corps. We'll let people know if they need something. You all are the folks to call, of course.
Yeah.
[03:48:08] Speaker A: Let us know if you need anything else or.
[03:48:10] Speaker B: Totally. Absolutely. Hopefully not, but okay. Y' all have a wonderful day. You want any food?
[03:48:17] Speaker A: Yeah, some food for the road would be nice.
[03:48:20] Speaker B: I'd get you a little bit of bread. I don't know why I offered. People have been pooping too much to cook.
She was a basket of bread. And she goes, this is clean.
[03:48:30] Speaker A: Thank you.
[03:48:33] Speaker B: Okay.
[03:48:34] Speaker A: Farewell.
[03:48:35] Speaker B: Thanks, courageous core.
See ya.
Yeah, you guys are, like, walking out, and that kid who had the stick earlier in the day, like, points out you guys and goes, like.
[03:48:49] Speaker A: When he does that, Ravenna casts prestidigitation and sparkles. And she goes, oh.
[03:48:56] Speaker B: Runs off again, scared again.
And the group slowly returns back to their ship, the good old site of Kathy at the helm. He's vibrating and. Yeah, can I lag behind and try to slip away for a second?
Yes. Okay. Do I need to make a stealth check or can I just.
Okay. They're preoccupied. As you guys get closer to the ship, you can see Zeras kind of, like, sulking. He can't sulk downstairs. He doesn't fit below deck anymore, so he's just on the prowl.
[03:49:31] Speaker A: So can I role play?
[03:49:33] Speaker B: Let's come back to that after we do his thing. Okay.
[03:49:35] Speaker A: I feel like as. As Ravina and I were walking into the town, we were like, oh, I'm the tea and the tea and the tea. I feel like now we would be very seriously, like. Like, we're still chatting.
We're still chatting, but it's. We're. It's somber. We're, like, talking very seriously about the dragons. I'm sorry.
[03:49:52] Speaker B: No, I just remembered the mez on my bed. I'm sorry. Yeah, absolutely.
[03:49:57] Speaker A: I think I also, before he slipped away, I think Ravina would have just, like, palmed him, like, five gold because he was like a new guy that came in.
[03:50:09] Speaker B: Yeah.
[03:50:09] Speaker A: And we didn't take the money, but he might have been promised it, and I had some gold on me, so she just palmed him five gold of.
[03:50:15] Speaker B: Like, as a little reference for this world. Cool. We treat.
We treat a copper like three bucks. Because weirdly, I've learned the coins don't scale super well. For one, for things, you're buying more like three. It's my personal theory. Not a lot of people agree, but we treated copper like 3 bucks and silver like 30 and a gold like 100. So it's basically. Yeah, it's like you got 500 bucks, which isn't.
Or no, 1500. 3 times 300 times 5. So, yeah, 1500 bucks, which. For this day's work. For this. Well, for this whole job. Well, because, remember, how often do you work like that? That's true. So this job you definitely got underpaid for, for, like, a consolation for no one getting paid. Great compensation. Yeah, yeah, very.
[03:50:59] Speaker A: It was your first job, so I was like, hey, we didn't take the money.
[03:51:01] Speaker B: But very fair for no one getting paid. Because you're used to the kind of work where you do something very dangerous for a day or for a week, you get paid a lot of money. You live off of it for a long time, but for. For. For a day when no one got compensated, pretty great.
Anyway, so you are palmed the gold, and then as you guys are talking tea tea, dragon tea, you slip away. Talk about that for me. I'm going to go decently. I'm assuming this is gonna be quite close to the water. I'm trying to slip away close to the water, but out of sight. And he's going to take out the remaining thing of ginger. Okay. And he's just gonna chuck it as hard as he can into the ocean after looking at it for a second. Okay. As like. As far. As far as you possibly can.
Okay.
Where no one Saw.
[03:51:51] Speaker A: Yeah, because we were literally chatting about the dragon.
[03:51:54] Speaker B: That's okay.
[03:51:54] Speaker A: We did it. We role played hard.
[03:51:56] Speaker B: Necten stepped away, took the remaining Jijid out of his bag, and hucked it in the ocean.
And as you. He said, I'm gonna be dead as you throw it. You sit there and you think about knowing how that's going to feel.
And then you also remember what it was like to look a dragon in the eyes.
And you just kind of sit there in that moment and you think about a life, whole life, how you've spent it, how you feel about that.
Yeah.
You just stand there for a second.
It does not feel good, but it does feel different.
The weight. This is gonna be hard. I'm gonna say to the deck, And you start walking back to the. I'm gonna say, me, too, buddy. Me too.
Okay. I'm starting to fall in love with this little snuggle.
He's like R2D2, but dumb.
This can absolutely be the end of session. Did anyone want any last things or, like. No, no, we're good. Like, try and hijack the end of the session. No, no, no, no.
You also get to role play.
[03:53:12] Speaker A: Yeah. I think that's a great note to end on, but I'm so excited to see how. Okay.
[03:53:19] Speaker B: That'S a great note to end on. I'm so excited for next live. And Jackie's like, all right.
[03:53:23] Speaker A: So excited to see how Nekton and Argyle's sobriety journey links up together.
[03:53:29] Speaker B: Dandy's. So weird.
What's happening? We now have a sobriety support group.
Or there might be one later sober.
[03:53:38] Speaker A: Friend instead of AAs.
[03:53:39] Speaker B: Oh, my. In CC, it's just the twirl.
[03:53:43] Speaker A: I like to believe that Argyle starts the.
[03:53:46] Speaker B: The OG world.
RO is.
RO is quietly a sponsor, and the other members don't know, and people are, like, hiring people, but it's just people who need help getting funneled toward. Oh, that's amazing. I love that. Anyway, Anyway. Anyway. Was there a last thing or. It's fine if we're done. Just checking.
[03:54:04] Speaker A: Well, I was. I was gonna say. I was gonna role play out what we were actually saying.
I think Ravina says Zargal shoes.
I. I mean, he's.
He's gonna live thousands and thousands of years, and I'll never be able to fly, and that's technically because of the people.
So maybe Katinka doesn't need to be found.
[03:54:32] Speaker B: Micah, lock your doors tonight.
[03:54:38] Speaker A: Well, I don't. I don't try and say it too quick, because I know the Dragons have great. But I think. You know what I think we could do?
I've heard that there's some Druids that when they get so powerful, they just can live forever.
And I wonder if we could, like, find a Druid that could live like a. Like a.
Like a really.
Like a group of, like, an order of Druids or something. Or like a ring of Druids. Whatever you're supposed to call it. I'll look that up when I get home. But like.
Like a group where we could take him. Where he could. He could have good people to be with forever.
And I know that maybe he would never. He would choose to leave eventually, but at least he'd have the option to know someone forever.
Or if we could just figure out how to give him his wings.
I mean, I know, like, naturally. No, but if someone could craft something.
DM. What I know about the good moments.
[03:55:45] Speaker B: Give me a herstory check.
[03:55:47] Speaker A: Can I do rumors just because it's fun?
[03:55:49] Speaker B: Sure.
[03:55:51] Speaker A: Is that charisma?
[03:55:53] Speaker B: Yes.
[03:55:53] Speaker A: For real?

[03:56:32] Speaker B: And roll.
[03:56:37] Speaker A: I just.
I think it's worth looking into. Maybe we could ask. Tell about it. Mr. J. I'm sure he's looking into things.
I just want them to know that we're not.
They're not prisoners here.
They're not prisoners here.
[03:56:55] Speaker B: All right. Are we. Maybe.
Okay, this is getting. We're losing the thread here. Excellent. Okay.
[03:57:01] Speaker A: I wouldn't hear rowing that.
[03:57:03] Speaker B: They're not prisoners here, but I knew when Abby was going, they're not prisoners. We were losing it. That's why I feel like we've gotten a lot of good stuff out of this session. We're all losing. Sing it. So that is definitely time. It is currently 2. Almost 2. 45. We don't have to say it out loud, but listener. We had way too much fun playing and we got lost. But, hey, it was a good time.
[03:57:26] Speaker A: Yeah, I know.
[03:57:27] Speaker B: Anywho, Anywho. Anywho. Anywho, Listener. Life's an incredible adventure. You're a very important part of it. Clearly, the courageous score is coming back.
[03:57:38] Speaker A: So be one day.
[03:57:46] Speaker B: Yeah. So life's an incredible adventure. Courageous core is very alive, so we're going to have more of it.
[03:57:52] Speaker A: The death of a close, close friend.
What?
[03:57:55] Speaker B: Well, hey, depending on how many more of these we can get in the future, maybe we can. Maybe. Maybe this could be a little miniseries, but.
Okay, okay, okay, okay. Life's an incredible adventure. You're an important part of it.
We'll see you next time, okay?
