Episode Transcript
[00:00:00] Speaker A: Welcome back to Barely dnd, your sir to Dungeons and Dragons podcast.
They didn't hear the part before that.
[00:00:08] Speaker B: That's good.
[00:00:09] Speaker A: Only you guys, you know, we warned
[00:00:12] Speaker C: you about that Episode two Energy. Yeah,
[00:00:16] Speaker A: we're back with part two of Curling three, the Cricks.
Oh, that was a good.
[00:00:23] Speaker C: No, that's a good one. That was a good one.
[00:00:27] Speaker A: And yeah, it's the four of us. It's like second.
[00:00:29] Speaker B: Second session energy.
[00:00:31] Speaker C: I thought I was gonna need, you
[00:00:33] Speaker D: might even say third session energy.
[00:00:36] Speaker A: I think that would just be like three people asleep and one yelling at them to stay awake.
[00:00:43] Speaker B: I've done that before.
[00:00:44] Speaker C: What?
Okay, anyway, Jackie's.
Jackie got lost.
[00:00:50] Speaker A: No, it was because my headphones went.
I'm sure they loved that.
[00:00:55] Speaker B: Okay, all right, all right, all right.
[00:00:56] Speaker C: We're seeing some people at overlo. This is a hostile takeover, cuz. This is not.
[00:01:01] Speaker B: All right, sorry.
[00:01:04] Speaker C: Jackie's making a bewildered face with her finger in her mouth and not talking.
I can't explain.
[00:01:14] Speaker A: I have a popcorn kernel stuck.
[00:01:16] Speaker C: We were like, we're working on the episode and Jack going.
[00:01:21] Speaker B: It's really bugging me.
[00:01:23] Speaker C: Okay, okay, okay, okay.
This is part two of Crawling through the Cracks. Dm, I think you're gonna need to start doing this.
[00:01:31] Speaker A: Crawling through the crack.
[00:01:41] Speaker C: Oh, my God.
[00:01:42] Speaker B: All right, we're coming back. We're coming back.
[00:01:50] Speaker C: Okay, Daniel, start saying something.
[00:01:52] Speaker B: What music do you need?
[00:01:53] Speaker C: What music do you need? Escaping the ether. Escape, Jackie. Escape. No, leave it alone. Escaping the ether. Jackie. This is how Caleb took pictures of you like that. Randomly.
[00:02:04] Speaker B: Anyway, all of you have the bags taken off of your head.
Light erupts, but not put right in.
[00:02:12] Speaker C: Whoa.
[00:02:13] Speaker B: Yeah.
So wait.
[00:02:15] Speaker D: Dm, what do I see?
[00:02:16] Speaker B: I'm trying to tell you.
I promise you, it's not from the sun or from the light of day, but from the light of.
[00:02:29] Speaker C: Is awesome.
[00:02:31] Speaker B: From sconces in front of this tavern. A well known tavern, especially to Garth.
[00:02:38] Speaker C: I'm Garth.
[00:02:38] Speaker B: You are Garth. It's a tavern that Garth never gets to go into because he desperately wanted to, but never truly got in there enough because he was just a bit too frustrating for the owner. But we don't see anyone right now. Right now you see a few friends around you. Allies.
Some possibly competitors.
And a few of the other people that must have said the right word later than when y' all did. But in front of you is no longer a ladriel and trom, but a blue colored warforge. She wears a hoodie covering her metallic rims. Limbs with tight black pants to not distinguish herself from the golem of what she is.
And this site is probably a bit unsettling for most of you as I don't think anyone, maybe some of the cavern, maybe Garth, as he's visited the cavern a few times, would have known what a warforged is. A warforged is a golem esque humanoid with a soul bound inside of it. There are many legends and myths for what and how it has been done. But the pervading one is that the elves have made the warforged of the plane and they do not distinguish their secrets to many people. So it is just in myth and legend at the moment.
But one of those people standing in front of you with an implacable face.
Her blue tinged face is just slightly covered with a hood and her black tight pants help to not distinguish her very assuredly non human legs from being human legs.
She looks at you all and she does not say anything with her mouth. She looks at all of you. And through your mind you hear this metal voice of a woman.
Congrats on passing the first test. You're quite the group. Most cannot make sense of something so vastly simple.
Talk to the eagle. Find your next mission.
Whether you choose to finish it is upon your shoulders and no one else's.
Tata.
[00:04:59] Speaker E: Wait, Madam. What is your name?
I must go.
[00:05:12] Speaker B: If you pass the test, I will be grudgingly share it.
[00:05:19] Speaker E: Perhaps I have information useful to you too.
I might you never knew.
[00:05:28] Speaker B: Can you give me a wisdom saving throw? Oh,
[00:05:34] Speaker D: you're gnome. You have advantage girl.
[00:05:36] Speaker C: Y that didn't help.
I got a 15.
[00:05:40] Speaker B: 15.
A spell is cast upon you in a very subtle way.
Wait, she's.
[00:05:47] Speaker C: I didn't know that. That's cool.
[00:05:49] Speaker B: She attempts to cast a spell and she nods at you looking that you saved against her spell.
[00:05:55] Speaker E: She says, I'm shop of mind and I might have access to precious metals.
[00:06:02] Speaker B: Luck is frustrating.
Is my name blue?
[00:06:10] Speaker E: It's good to meet you. I'm Gartholomew. Amon show the 4th.
I'm apprenticed to Maria.
And I imagine one made of your own constitution might be in need of such precious metals.
[00:06:27] Speaker C: I see why from my pocket.
[00:06:29] Speaker B: Yeah, he says. She says, I see why Pina picked you then.
And she moves off and says Tata.
All of you stand in front of a one story tavern much much smaller than the tavern you came here before.
But Garth, you know this one to be the uppity tavern. The tavern of the prim and proper. The high elite of the social strata of Hearthstone.
This is the Black Eagle.
It has lights on, sconces, and if you go inside the doors, is Merlin going to try to bring moose in?
[00:07:17] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:07:18] Speaker E: Okay.
[00:07:19] Speaker B: As you open up into this area.
Hold on, hold on, hold on. Okay, here it is.
Nope, incorrect. Daniel, where did you do it?
The smell of fresh, clean tables, mugs. Oh, I already said this.
The most elegant of tables with white tablecloths wrapping them and red roses in the faces.
Beautifully clean, impeccably clean. The last place wasn't super dirty, but it was dirty for a bar. And as people who probably have gone around bars of your aptitude, you would see that this is very different.
It's clean, it's proper. It only has wine bottles across the back of where the bar is up
[00:08:12] Speaker C: inside the wall and stuff recessed in
[00:08:14] Speaker B: different areas, and beautiful wines, sconces of fire all across the way. As there are seem to be four people at tables and one person at the bar itself.
And as you try to bring your moose companion in, the eagle in the back holds up his hand and says, we only serve those who are able to buy drinks here, not things that are made.
It can wait on the porch.
[00:08:45] Speaker D: Okay. I nod and I say, thank you, sir. And I turn around and I say, I give Merlin a little bit of.
I give.
[00:08:53] Speaker C: Not that close. Somewhere in the middle. If you just scooted your chair up, you'd be perfect.
Okay.
She said it's fine if I eat a bunch of these, right?
[00:09:01] Speaker D: Yeah, I don't. You can finish them. I, I, I give Merlin a little pat and go, bink, bink, bink. And then I, I speak to him in gnomish a little bit. And then I, I just leave him on the. He sits down and, yeah, he lays down.
[00:09:17] Speaker C: My thick blonde brows raise as I hear gnomish.
And I twist the edge of my mustache.
[00:09:23] Speaker B: Ooh, a gnome. Knowing gnomish.
Sorry.
The black eagle owner, as you all go towards, I'm guessing all of you go towards the bar, right?
[00:09:34] Speaker A: She said talk to the eagle.
[00:09:36] Speaker B: He did say that you see a tall Eric Cochran bird person of the eagle variety.
He though his plumage is very dark, and you're like, oh, a very dark black eagle. And as you come closer and closer, you see that it is not because his plumage is normally dark, but because all of his plumage has been burned and all of his feathers are charred with a, a, a degree of char that leaves a impression of blackness all across his feathers.
[00:10:12] Speaker C: That's crazy.
[00:10:14] Speaker B: The only thing that is vibrantly different is his yellow beak.
But you see a modern look with sleek.
Sorry.
[00:10:27] Speaker C: You see a lot of look.
[00:10:34] Speaker B: He wears a pinstripe suit, almost like a butler of some sorts. And he has, like, a towel always draped over one of his feathery wings. And he whips out, as each of you come up, he whips out a glass of wine, pours you white wine, all of you. And he puts underneath it on a napkin, and he says the following.
Take what you find underneath these glasses outside, and you will find yourself well on your way to the end. Do it quietly, or this will be your end.
As he gives each of you this. I need each. Every person to roll me a D8.
[00:11:10] Speaker D: A date.
[00:11:11] Speaker A: Can you say that one more time? What he said?
[00:11:13] Speaker C: Sure.
Take what you find underneath these glasses outside, quietly, and you'll be well on your way to the end.
[00:11:20] Speaker E: Do not.
[00:11:20] Speaker C: Do so, and it will be your end.
[00:11:22] Speaker B: Do it quietly, or this will be your end.
[00:11:24] Speaker C: Do it. Do so quietly or be your end.
[00:11:25] Speaker A: Take what you find underneath these glasses outside quietly.
[00:11:29] Speaker B: Well, I didn't.
[00:11:30] Speaker A: Oh, didn't say quietly.
[00:11:31] Speaker B: I didn't say quietly the first time. The second time, though.
Glasses outside, and you will find yourself well on your way to the end. Do it quietly, or this will be your end.
[00:11:41] Speaker A: I got a 6.
[00:11:43] Speaker E: 6.
[00:11:44] Speaker B: 3.
Okay, let's start with Merlin. Merlin. Oh, nice.
You find a.
Everyone else has gotten napkins. You have gotten something much thicker than a napkin. It almost feels like a tablecloth, but it has been cut off in sections and made to look like a napkin.
As if.
I mean, it is. What is underneath the napkin? There's no etching. There's no marking on any of it. And he has just slid this glass over to you.
Number six.
[00:12:22] Speaker A: Oh, don't like that.
[00:12:24] Speaker B: You've gotten a napkin. You're a barbarian.
[00:12:26] Speaker C: It'll be fine.
[00:12:27] Speaker B: It actually does fit.
On your napkin, though, is a. A charcoal drawing of a finger, almost abstractly done so that it could not distinguish which kind of race this finger is from. But it is definitely a finger drawn onto this napkin.
Number three. Yeah.
[00:12:52] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:12:52] Speaker B: Oh, no.
[00:12:54] Speaker C: I just understood.
I just understood. What's happening? Mm.
[00:13:00] Speaker B: You on your napkin, have been given an exquisitely drawn portrait of a plump dwarf with fine clothing on with the symbol of Joaquin around his neck that is more defined than the rest of him.
[00:13:10] Speaker E: No.
[00:13:10] Speaker C: What are you doing?
[00:13:13] Speaker B: These are the things that you have found. How about you three, roll me another D8 and reroll any numbers that have already been done?
Hell, yeah.
[00:13:24] Speaker C: Two.
[00:13:24] Speaker D: Seven.
[00:13:25] Speaker B: Hell, yeah. Okay.
[00:13:29] Speaker C: This is crazy, Daniel.
[00:13:40] Speaker B: How do I do this? Romay. Roll me this one.
[00:13:45] Speaker E: Two.
[00:13:46] Speaker C: Three.
[00:13:46] Speaker D: Scary.
[00:13:48] Speaker B: What number did you get?
[00:13:49] Speaker D: Three.
[00:13:50] Speaker B: Hell, yeah. Okay. Sorry. I'm just excited that it's this person. Okay.
Can you roll evens or actually roll me this one, Jackie?
[00:14:05] Speaker A: No, it's not. It's a key. It's a key.
Two.
[00:14:08] Speaker B: Okay. What did you roll?
[00:14:11] Speaker D: What time?
[00:14:14] Speaker B: Okay, so this is.
Sorry.
[00:14:18] Speaker A: So every person here is getting a different napkin.
[00:14:20] Speaker B: Everyone's getting a different napkin.
[00:14:22] Speaker A: We can infer, like, I'm looking around,
[00:14:25] Speaker B: and you got a two.
Okay.
Okay.
What do you do?
There are some people on the net there. There are people over the tables. There are tables with tablecloths on them and people with fingers.
What do you need to do?
[00:14:51] Speaker A: Can I see? Like.
Like, I. I would say that maybe I went up next to the Kenku. Can I see what their napkin is, by any chance? If I'm looking as they're getting it,
[00:15:02] Speaker B: can you give me a persuasion check?
[00:15:04] Speaker A: Okay, that is a 14.
[00:15:10] Speaker B: 14.
The kinku looks at you and does, like, a puff. Like a puff as he shows you. And he just, like, shows you a blank napkin.
[00:15:23] Speaker E: Okay.
[00:15:25] Speaker B: And he's just like.
[00:15:29] Speaker A: Is it the same, like, material and all?
[00:15:31] Speaker B: It is the same material. You. Each of the other napkins with a cursory glance. Yeah. That's all you can really see. Unless you want to investigate a bit more on everyone's napkin, which may or may not impose people if they want to show you or not.
[00:15:44] Speaker D: Nah. I think I'm gonna turn to Chandra.
[00:15:48] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:15:49] Speaker D: And I'm gonna say, well, I got this here piece of tablecloth. What did you.
What did you. What's on your napkin? Did you get a normal napkin or on a funky napkin?
[00:16:00] Speaker B: She looks at it and she's like, um, I do believe he said quietly.
[00:16:05] Speaker D: Right.
[00:16:06] Speaker B: Possibly without your spurs this time.
[00:16:09] Speaker D: Mmm.
Grand idea. I lean down and I take my spurs off.
[00:16:16] Speaker A: He did. If I remember correctly, he did say, take what you find underneath these glasses outside.
[00:16:21] Speaker B: Mm.
Well, I did not get a tablecloth, though, if that helps you.
[00:16:28] Speaker D: What's on your napkin?
[00:16:31] Speaker B: I'd rather not say. We are allies, and I hope to get you through it, and perhaps I can be helpful. But mine did not.
You do believe it is the tablecloth fabric that. Yes.
[00:16:47] Speaker D: Well, I guess I'll have to go check out some other tablecloths.
[00:16:51] Speaker B: Be my guest.
[00:16:53] Speaker D: And I
[00:16:56] Speaker C: pull a corn out of your butt.
[00:16:58] Speaker D: I take my spurs off, and I go. And I go up to this table with nobody at it, and nobody's at it. I touch the tablecloth.
[00:17:05] Speaker B: Feels exactly the same way the Vase with the rose kind of like, jingles as you touch the tablecloth.
[00:17:11] Speaker D: Is it like a rough cut or is it sewn around the edges?
[00:17:14] Speaker B: Sewn around the edges.
[00:17:15] Speaker D: Oh, so it's like someone made, like, a napkin out of a tablecloth.
There's nothing on it.
[00:17:21] Speaker B: Just the tablecloth.
[00:17:23] Speaker C: Dm.
I look at my napkin and I go.
I fold it. I slip it into part of my cloak. I pull out my journal, and I furiously take notes for about 20, 30 seconds.
[00:17:34] Speaker E: Just.
Yes.
[00:17:37] Speaker C: I stop, and I kind of look like I'm drawing something for a second.
I look around, I close it, I slip it back into my cloak. I put away my quill and my inkwell. And then I look around the room for a plump dwarf with a symbol
[00:17:50] Speaker E: of Joaquin around his neck.
[00:17:52] Speaker B: Oh, it's very easy to find because there's only one dwarf in the whole tavern. It seems like the one off to the corner here. And you do remember. Can you give me an insight check?
[00:18:01] Speaker E: Actually, absolutely.
[00:18:08] Speaker C: Not.
[00:18:09] Speaker B: 20.
[00:18:10] Speaker E: Good job, my friend.
[00:18:11] Speaker B: You find that your napkin did prominently display the symbol of Joaquin. So not more than just a dwarf.
[00:18:22] Speaker E: Interesting.
[00:18:24] Speaker B: Would you like to do a religion check to see.
[00:18:26] Speaker C: Yes, that's what I wanted to do. Not anything else I was going to say.
[00:18:29] Speaker B: No, I'm sorry.
[00:18:30] Speaker E: Do whatever you want, my friend. I trust you don't do that.
[00:18:39] Speaker A: 12.
[00:18:40] Speaker B: Joaquin is a goddess of merchants. Or merchandising, maybe selling of some sorts.
[00:18:46] Speaker E: Excellent.
[00:18:47] Speaker C: I away to the table and I just walk. And when I walk, I do this weird thing where I like, kind of like I put my hands behind me like this, and I puff out my chest, and I sort of like, my
[00:19:01] Speaker E: feet go faster than me.
[00:19:03] Speaker C: Like, I'm kind of leaned backward, leading with my hips with my. A very, like. Like 1950s cartoon walk.
[00:19:09] Speaker D: I knew boys in high school who walked like that.
[00:19:12] Speaker A: You can make your sim.
[00:19:13] Speaker C: This was a joke. I'm very sorry for your loss.
[00:19:15] Speaker D: No, I know people that walked like that.
[00:19:16] Speaker C: And what I'm saying is I was doing what I was doing to be funny. I'm very sorry that you had to do it.
[00:19:20] Speaker D: Very nice.
[00:19:20] Speaker C: Okay, so I come around to the table, and I sidle up next to him, and I go,
[00:19:27] Speaker B: hello, hello, hello, young man.
And he just, like, stretches his big rotund belly, and he's like. It's like out almost on the table itself. Which is weird because he's a short little guy, but he's got fine jewelry all accompanying his hands.
He wears drapings of a cleric with long, flowing robe suit that is Slightly gold in appearance and trim and stuff like this. As he has tons of rings and a very hefty pouch that's seems a bit less full at the moment, but still like hefty as in big.
He's like. Hello, I'm Belleril Goldfinger.
[00:20:11] Speaker E: Bellarel Goldfinger?
[00:20:12] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:20:12] Speaker B: What is your name?
[00:20:14] Speaker E: I am. You might know it, but interest it if you don't. I've been more clandestine in the past. I am Gartholomew Armentrouchman, sir iv. Are you familiar with the name?
My family's more prominent in the north.
[00:20:28] Speaker B: I understand if you're not but a gnome artificer in this town is a well known place. I believe you've come by the temple a few times. Given your gold and the celebration of Joaquin, I believe. Yes, Yes.
[00:20:43] Speaker E: I am not a man of much religious incline. But your goddess.
I understand her purpose.
[00:20:50] Speaker B: We should all one day.
[00:20:54] Speaker E: Mr. Goldfinger.
I see that you've come to this establishment.
[00:20:59] Speaker B: Of course. I only come to the Black Eagle. It's the only one where I can get peace and quiet. Which I usually would be mad that you're sitting next to me. But a man so clandestine as you. I imagine that you will be good company.
[00:21:11] Speaker E: I see more cut from the same cloth. Or at least one day I hope to be among your ilk. Sir. I have not reached your repute yet. But I am a man, though small of stature, creative ambition.
[00:21:24] Speaker B: And I do. Joaquin's a chest. Joaquin is the goddess of much ambition.
[00:21:31] Speaker E: Yes. And it is for that reason that I make a strange request to you, sir.
[00:21:37] Speaker C: Sure.
[00:21:37] Speaker E: The symbol around your neck.
[00:21:39] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:21:40] Speaker B: My devotion to the goddess.
[00:21:42] Speaker E: I would like to leave the building with it.
Yes, A strange request indeed, isn't it?
[00:21:49] Speaker B: It's quite strange.
[00:21:50] Speaker E: Odd, of course.
I have been given and I like
[00:21:54] Speaker C: look to him really quickly. And I like. You know the way that Nacho pops his eyes at people in nacho libre. I like do that with my eyes
[00:22:01] Speaker E: and I go a specific task. I assume you could imagine what that might be.
There are details I cannot reveal. I do not mean to possess it eternally. But if I can prove that I've curried your favor such a renowned individual, my exiting of the building with your item will be of great, great value.
[00:22:23] Speaker B: Can you give me a persuasion?
[00:22:25] Speaker C: Can I. Can I finish my offer?
[00:22:26] Speaker B: Oh, sure, sure.
[00:22:27] Speaker C: Yes.
What I'll say is.
[00:22:30] Speaker E: But I understand why you wouldn't trust me. Though I am so mustachioed.
I would like to leave you with something even more valuable to me
[00:22:44] Speaker B: that isn't A compelling offer.
A Goddess of Trades would be excited.
[00:22:49] Speaker C: I, like.
I flourish my cloak to the side with my hands and slip behind my back. And I do some little bit with my fingers. And I undo the bandolier around my chest. I place it on the table with all of its tinctures and vials.
[00:23:03] Speaker E: And I say, these represent months of work I have here.
[00:23:09] Speaker C: And I stroke them with my fingers a little bit.
[00:23:11] Speaker E: Vials containing salves, bombs, imbibements capable of imbuing all sorts of magical effects.
What is more.
[00:23:22] Speaker C: And I reach into the pocket of my cloak and I pull out this, like, long, spindled rod. It looks like a magical wand, but what it is is it's a metal base with a slot that can be screwed in and out to be replaced with different fixtures at the end to hold multiple different tools. But the metal at the end is pliable and slightly flexible, like, as if you could magically shift it into being a different kind of tool. And I place it down and I
[00:23:47] Speaker E: say, the object of my magical ability, it is through this focus that I cast my spells. Now, I understand that you may or may not be a caster yourself, but in the eyes of any artificer, these items would be invaluable.
These are the methods of my trade. That is the method of yours.
[00:24:15] Speaker B: What's your passive perception?
[00:24:18] Speaker C: Not good.
[00:24:20] Speaker B: 10. 10.
[00:24:23] Speaker C: I'm transfixed on the moment as you're
[00:24:25] Speaker B: transfixed on the moment. Give me a persuasion check at advantage giving so much for this thing.
Look to see how genuine you are being.
Oh.
[00:24:37] Speaker A: Oh.
[00:24:38] Speaker B: 19. 19. Very good.
[00:24:40] Speaker C: That was gonna go really badly.
[00:24:42] Speaker B: He looks at you, and as he's judging and he's grabbing his chin and he's looking at you. You see, you don't see, but behind you, you feel the breath of an eagle.
Mr. Goldfinger, is this man bothering you?
I don't want to be anyone buffoonering in my establishment.
[00:25:05] Speaker C: As he says that. I just. I like. And I look up at him with my tiny little eyes and my mustache trembles.
[00:25:11] Speaker B: Goldfinger looks at him and he's like, oh, no, we're just establishing a trade deal, my friend.
He's good for now. And you feel the watchful eye of the eagle as he says eagle eye.
He. Oh, he can't mouth it because he's got a beak.
[00:25:30] Speaker C: That's an amazing quote.
[00:25:32] Speaker B: He can't mouth it.
[00:25:33] Speaker C: He's got a beak.
[00:25:37] Speaker B: He passes like. He's like, very good, sir. And he, like, passes a drink to refill to Mr. Goldfinger. And on the way he puts the.
Another napkin in front of you. Okay.
[00:25:55] Speaker C: I just nod at him knowingly, very overtly, obviously, like, do you pick up the napkin? I take the napkin, I pick it up, I sniff it, and I unfold it.
[00:26:08] Speaker E: Impeccable.
[00:26:09] Speaker C: And I unfold it
[00:26:12] Speaker B: silently, quietly.
[00:26:15] Speaker C: I look to him, and I nod as if I feel like I've been very clever and not totally missing everything, and I'm just like.
And I fold it. I take out my journal, I do a little bit more doodling, and I
[00:26:28] Speaker E: close it, put it back in mine.
[00:26:29] Speaker B: With your 19 of persuasion, though, Mr. Goldfingers pipes back up, and he says, where?
I love getting a good deal, but I am also a man keen of good deals. And it feels as if you're giving me too much of a good deal. And you know what they say. Too much something too good is always
[00:26:48] Speaker E: too good to be true.
[00:26:51] Speaker B: So I am not very much interested in your tinctures, your potions, whatever they are.
But trading magic for magic, that is a good, solid deal.
If I allow you mine, I will take yours, and we'll see how long we keep.
[00:27:09] Speaker C: I pull out my journal. My eyes get big. I flip a couple pages, I put it on blank pages. I slide it toward him.
I scribble with my quill, and I turn it around to him, and it
[00:27:19] Speaker E: says, my good sir, you have a
[00:27:21] Speaker C: deal in the written text. Very good. And then I've put a little X line where he can sign and date.
[00:27:27] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. And he's like.
[00:27:29] Speaker C: I hand him the quill.
[00:27:29] Speaker B: Yeah, it's quill. And in a very big flourish of words that kind of, like, scribbles out your name and other words that are on this one.
Very overt. He looks around, and he's just gonna start taking off his cymbal, and he's gonna give it to you.
[00:27:47] Speaker C: I take it. I slide it into a pocket of my coat. I put my bandolier back on. I strap it around. I clip it. But then I slide my focus toward him.
[00:27:55] Speaker B: He takes it. He says, this will be very exciting to figure out.
And at this, we're gonna shift.
[00:28:00] Speaker C: I do a weird little bow, my arms behind my back, and I walk with my hips forward out of the bar.
[00:28:06] Speaker B: Oh, we're gonna get to that.
[00:28:08] Speaker C: Or maybe I don't.
[00:28:08] Speaker B: Yeah, we're all gonna have to figure out if you're stealthing out or not. Okay, who would like to go next?
[00:28:14] Speaker D: You go next.
[00:28:15] Speaker A: I'll go.
[00:28:15] Speaker D: I'm gonna be.
[00:28:16] Speaker B: I like this music Fever favor.
What's the name again.
Patrix Patriots.
[00:28:26] Speaker A: You can just call her. You can just call her Feyre.
[00:28:28] Speaker B: Feyer.
Wait.
Feyre.
[00:28:35] Speaker A: Okay. But I did. I mixed Fiero and Belly.
[00:28:39] Speaker B: He got six.
[00:28:40] Speaker A: Anyway, so I got the napkin with the thingy.
I would like.
[00:28:47] Speaker C: I can't wait to see how this is gonna go.
[00:28:49] Speaker A: First, I would like to turn around and do a little survey of who the people are at the tables that aren't.
That aren't the ones that were hooded
[00:29:00] Speaker B: with us, I mean. Also just had a finger.
[00:29:03] Speaker A: That's true.
I have it. I have one option, but I wanted to. I had a thought, but I want to see.
[00:29:09] Speaker B: I got you.
You see a overtly yuan t person over here. As in, like, the whole, like, most yuan ts just, like, look like humanoids with just, like, cat eyes and stuff like that. Maybe like a. A tongue that's more cut down the middle.
This one, though, his right. Yep. His whole head is almost turning. Scaled like a snake. Almost like balding in some sort of way in snakes. He has, I think, very crazy dimensions, right?
Yes.
He. He. He has, like, this, like, yellow orange scaling that is coming across his body while the rest of his body is sort of humanoid esque. And he's got these, like, yellow eyes and a pinkish tongue as he takes his drink. And he almost sips out of it with just his tongue. Oh.
And he puts it down. So there's that guy. Then there's the dwarf that you saw. Plump, but he's probably talking to your friend right now.
[00:30:16] Speaker C: I don't think we've even spoken yet.
[00:30:18] Speaker B: Not at all. No.
You see a. Even though that's a satyr, we're gonna say he's a firbolg.
A lanky one. Tall, navy, almost black.
You see a male halfling at the bar who, like, has been surrounded by a bunch of people. What's happening?
And you see a female birdkin in the very back. A raptor of some sort and variety.
[00:30:47] Speaker A: I want to look at the napkin again. You said it's a charcoal drawing and it's, like, kind of abstract.
[00:30:53] Speaker B: Yeah. So it's not like. It's not like what you would. It's. It's like a finger detached from a hand. But it's not necessarily like a humanoid finger or like a bird claw or any.
[00:31:05] Speaker A: How much of a finger is it
[00:31:06] Speaker B: like the whole finger?
[00:31:08] Speaker A: Can you tell which finger?
[00:31:09] Speaker B: It isn't. Finger doesn't seem to be the thumb or the middle finger or anything like that.
[00:31:17] Speaker A: Is there like a.
Is there like a.
Is there like A dark corner of the room.
[00:31:27] Speaker B: No, it's quite bright in here.
[00:31:28] Speaker A: It is. Okay.
[00:31:29] Speaker B: Yes. He has made sure to make sure that everyone can see the beauty and elegance of his establishment. I think that makes sense.
[00:31:39] Speaker A: You said there's tablecloths on the tables.
[00:31:41] Speaker B: There are tablecloths on the table.
[00:31:42] Speaker A: I'm gonna go sit down at a table that doesn't have someone at it.
[00:31:46] Speaker B: That's the one in the middle.
[00:31:47] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:31:48] Speaker B: Your friend is also by here as she is touching the tablecloth or he is touching the table.
All right, Abby, what is this?
[00:32:03] Speaker E: Do it.
[00:32:04] Speaker A: I'm going to put my hands under the tablecloth.
[00:32:09] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:32:10] Speaker A: So people can't see it.
And I'm going to take the edge of my longsword and try to.
[00:32:17] Speaker B: The edge. So you're taking your longsword out of your.
[00:32:23] Speaker C: Do you not have like a knife or something small?
[00:32:25] Speaker A: Can I say I have a dagger in my boot or something? Okay. Okay, we're gonna do that. So she takes dagger.
[00:32:31] Speaker B: Can you give me a sleight of hand to see if someone in the establishment that you're standing right in front
[00:32:37] Speaker C: of, does it do her any good? Her hands under the table?
[00:32:41] Speaker B: Yeah, that's why she's getting a roll.
[00:32:42] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:32:43] Speaker A: I get a 10.
[00:32:44] Speaker B: Well, that beats mine. Okay, so you take the dagger out. No one seems to do anything. Seems like maybe whatever flashiness was going over by the dwarf at Orville was preoccupied at the moment.
But his eyes do seem to linger at almost everyone on the tables.
[00:33:00] Speaker A: Can I do. I would like to do a medicine check for which finger of my own would be the least, like, not needed to hold a sword or a shield.
[00:33:11] Speaker C: Still, that's a crazy sentence.
[00:33:13] Speaker B: You can give me a medicine.
[00:33:14] Speaker A: Okay. Just for fun, you know, to add a check in there. I didn't even need that.
[00:33:19] Speaker B: If only there were other people with hands.
[00:33:21] Speaker A: That's a 19.
[00:33:22] Speaker B: A 19. You would see that most of your fingers are kind of needed no matter which one you cut off.
You imagine.
[00:33:32] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:33:32] Speaker B: Like the ring fingers gotta be the one because you can at least be supported. But it's gonna take probably a little bit to try to figure out how to grip a sword in the same way again.
[00:33:41] Speaker A: Yeah.
Fieratrex is left handed, so she's gonna cut her right. She's gonna go for the right hand.
[00:33:53] Speaker B: She's going for it. No other options are here.
[00:33:57] Speaker A: She's gonna cut the middle.
The ring. No, the.
[00:34:02] Speaker B: I did say it was the ring finger.
[00:34:03] Speaker A: If you want, the ring finger would be the best one to do. She's gonna cut the ring finger, and she's gonna. She's gonna try to cut it off.
[00:34:10] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah. Can you give me an attack roll?
[00:34:14] Speaker C: It has been so good knowing you, Jackie.
[00:34:16] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:34:17] Speaker B: At advantage. Cause it's very hard to not hit your finger.
[00:34:20] Speaker A: That's a nat 20.
[00:34:22] Speaker C: And the question is, is that a good thing?
[00:34:26] Speaker B: I gotta get. I gotta get a coin for this.
[00:34:31] Speaker A: She's scarred up. This is like. Like, she's thinking, like, okay, this is what's going on in her head. She's like, which one? She's like, I'm a pirate. It's cool.
She's like. She's like, this is like a. This is like a rite of passage.
Like, my captain has a hook for a hand. Sure.
[00:34:51] Speaker C: You
[00:34:53] Speaker B: with a nat 20, you grab it with your left hand. As you get it, you just.
I mean, with a surgeon's precision, cut the finger off, but you still have
[00:35:05] Speaker C: to go through bone.
[00:35:06] Speaker B: Yeah.
It. With.
How much is your strength? Right?
[00:35:11] Speaker A: My strength? 15.
[00:35:12] Speaker B: 15 with the 15. Strength as you go through the. Boom.
Oh, lots of blood. Lots of blood.
[00:35:21] Speaker E: Yeah.
[00:35:22] Speaker C: Hands bleed.
[00:35:23] Speaker B: So I'm gonna.
[00:35:24] Speaker A: I'm gonna take my.
No.
[00:35:27] Speaker B: And.
[00:35:29] Speaker A: See, I told you this was good music for what I was gonna do.
[00:35:31] Speaker B: Nine points of damage as you take off your finger as the blood starts to bleed everywhere. Oh, my gosh. So much blood.
[00:35:41] Speaker D: That's crazy, Jackie.
[00:35:42] Speaker B: Oh, oh, oh, oh.
[00:35:44] Speaker A: What.
[00:35:44] Speaker B: What. What do you do with the bleeding hand?
That's.
[00:35:48] Speaker C: That's crazy, Jackie.
[00:35:50] Speaker A: I'm gonna take.
I'm gonna take, like, part of her shirt or whatever that she has and rip it off and, like, try to.
[00:36:00] Speaker B: Oh.
So here's the thing, is that you put your hand underneath the table and you've cut off a finger. Yeah. There is blood seeping all on to this tablecloth.
[00:36:15] Speaker A: And see, I did something that in my head, in my brain, I was. Because I'm so in. Tuned to a caster, I was like, I can cure it. I can get rid of it. I can clean it up. And then the moment I did it, I was like, I don't know how to clean this up without magic.
[00:36:33] Speaker C: You're not rowing out, dude.
[00:36:35] Speaker A: I have an explorer pack.
[00:36:38] Speaker B: Sure. That is on your.
[00:36:39] Speaker A: Is there anything in there that would
[00:36:41] Speaker B: be, like, not a first aid kit?
[00:36:43] Speaker A: Okay, I know. Not a first aid kit, but, like.
[00:36:44] Speaker B: But not even, like, a medicine kit. That would be in, like, a clerics pack.
[00:36:47] Speaker A: Yeah. Okay.
[00:36:50] Speaker B: Okay. There's a lot of blood. Oh, it's filling the table.
[00:36:53] Speaker A: Is there a candle on the table?
[00:36:54] Speaker B: There's a rose on the table.
[00:36:56] Speaker A: Is there, is there a candle somewhere? Like, is there Torches?
[00:37:01] Speaker B: Scott's torches.
[00:37:02] Speaker A: Okay, I'm gonna go, I'm gonna, I'm gonna put my arm in my cloak or in my jacket.
[00:37:08] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:37:10] Speaker A: And I'm gonna, I'm gonna go over to the nearest torch.
[00:37:13] Speaker B: One million.
[00:37:14] Speaker A: And I'm gonna hold my dagger in the torch.
[00:37:18] Speaker B: Four more points of damage.
[00:37:19] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:37:19] Speaker B: You've lost a lot of blood.
[00:37:20] Speaker C: They got the weirdest freaks in this crop.
[00:37:23] Speaker B: As you do it, can I get another sleight of hand?
[00:37:28] Speaker A: Oh, no, that's not as good. That's a seven.
[00:37:31] Speaker C: With a seven.
[00:37:32] Speaker B: Seven.
Lots of blood drops flowing down your side.
You see, as you're getting close to the torch, you see? Orville.
[00:37:45] Speaker C: Dm.
[00:37:45] Speaker B: Uh huh.
[00:37:47] Speaker C: Wait, wait, do I want to do this?
[00:37:49] Speaker B: I. I'm going to say this is probably the same time you've been doing talking and stuff.
[00:37:55] Speaker C: Also, I don't know this lady and I'm not invested in her survival, so why would I help? Sorry, that was a player. Gut reaction.
[00:38:01] Speaker B: No, you're good.
[00:38:02] Speaker C: She can die.
[00:38:02] Speaker A: Wait, which one's Oracle?
[00:38:03] Speaker B: Oracle is black equal.
[00:38:05] Speaker A: Oh, okay.
[00:38:05] Speaker B: And as you walk towards it.
Well, first off, you. You bled onto a tablecloth.
[00:38:11] Speaker A: Is it a white tablecloth?
[00:38:12] Speaker B: It is. Of course it is.
[00:38:13] Speaker C: Well, no, maybe it's one of those famous deep red crimson ones.
[00:38:16] Speaker A: It should be a dark black one.
[00:38:18] Speaker B: No, not, not, not the black eagle. It's. It's kind of contrast on the name of the place.
He sees you all blood on his floor, and he looks directly at you and says, can I help you?
I smell something
[00:38:40] Speaker A: under my arm.
[00:38:41] Speaker B: I smell some buffoonery going on.
[00:38:45] Speaker A: I'm just, I. I just need to get to that torch right now.
[00:38:50] Speaker B: Do you now?
[00:38:51] Speaker A: I do.
[00:38:53] Speaker E: Ron Conroy.
[00:38:54] Speaker B: Why is that?
[00:38:57] Speaker A: To
[00:39:00] Speaker B: just.
[00:39:00] Speaker A: To sanitize my knife, my dagger before I head out.
[00:39:05] Speaker B: Did you brandish a weapon in my establishment?
[00:39:10] Speaker A: Not on any other person here.
I swear I didn't.
[00:39:17] Speaker B: Can you give me a persuasion check?
[00:39:22] Speaker A: Add a D4.
[00:39:23] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:39:23] Speaker A: Oh, no.
[00:39:30] Speaker B: Remember, you do have a coin, which means that you can in some way change the outcome of this situation.
[00:39:37] Speaker C: Daniel's being so gentle right now.
[00:39:39] Speaker A: I would like to not die.
[00:39:42] Speaker B: Okay? Okay.
[00:39:44] Speaker A: And somehow, yeah, I would just like to be able to heal this. Not heal this wound, but be able to stop the bleeding is my really hope here.
[00:39:59] Speaker B: You're trying to stop the bleeding? That's what you want to use this coin for?
[00:40:03] Speaker A: Is that what I want to use this coin?
[00:40:04] Speaker C: I don't know, dude.
Every decision you've made up until now
[00:40:08] Speaker D: is your divine intervention.
[00:40:10] Speaker A: Yeah,
[00:40:13] Speaker C: I don't know, dude. Every decision you've made is wild. You're in uncharted waters. I don't know. He said a finger, and you said, all right, hurt and got out a knife. I don't know what to tell you.
[00:40:24] Speaker A: I'd rather cut my own off than somebody else's.
[00:40:27] Speaker C: Very considerate.
[00:40:28] Speaker B: A very kind pirate you are.
[00:40:31] Speaker C: You're gonna fit in great with David's dastard. Tell you what.
[00:40:35] Speaker B: As you look and you say in a moment of understanding that this man is a man of elegance, a man who has probably not seen a lot of horrid sights in his life, you pull out your hand real fast.
The severed limb. Like, not the severed limb. You put your severed hand in front of him, and you're just, like, constant blood coming out of it. And you just see dude, and he just, like, turns away and walks as fast as he can to the trash can and just begins to vomit uncontrollably into it. You have a chance to put that hand into the fire now, if you'd like.
[00:41:14] Speaker A: Yeah, I'd like.
[00:41:15] Speaker C: I see my opportunity, and I make for the door.
[00:41:17] Speaker D: I would also like to see my opportunity. I'm sitting here looking at the stablecloth.
I watch this happen.
I'm gonna grab the tablecloth from the middle, bundle it up, and walk out the door.
[00:41:31] Speaker C: The whole tablecloth?
[00:41:33] Speaker D: Yes.
[00:41:33] Speaker C: Not part of it.
[00:41:34] Speaker D: Yes.
[00:41:35] Speaker B: It has to be the one.
[00:41:36] Speaker E: Man.
[00:41:37] Speaker B: Sleight of hand, please.
[00:41:38] Speaker A: You guys got so much easier, Dude.
[00:41:40] Speaker B: Yeah.
Stealth, check. Advantage, my friend.
[00:41:44] Speaker D: I would like to use my coin, but I don't know where it has gone. It's right here.
[00:41:47] Speaker B: Your coin. Okay.
[00:41:52] Speaker D: I would like. Let's see. I got a sleight of hand. I got an 11.
[00:41:58] Speaker B: 11. Would you like to use the coin?
[00:42:04] Speaker D: No, I just. Don't say a word.
[00:42:05] Speaker B: Don't say a word.
[00:42:06] Speaker D: I do it quietly, and I walk out the door.
[00:42:08] Speaker B: Okay. What was your cell?
[00:42:10] Speaker E: Check?
[00:42:10] Speaker B: 17. 17. 17.
[00:42:11] Speaker C: 11.
[00:42:12] Speaker B: 11. Perfect. Because he is vomiting. He cannot see whatever
[00:42:18] Speaker C: he was checking.
[00:42:19] Speaker B: Welcome.
[00:42:21] Speaker C: I mean, yeah, thanks, I guess.
[00:42:23] Speaker B: With 17, you.
[00:42:24] Speaker E: You.
[00:42:25] Speaker C: You see, this travesty happened before you
[00:42:29] Speaker B: passed away, and you, like, bolt out the room.
[00:42:32] Speaker C: I just got. I go.
And then I run. I run out. Run out the door.
[00:42:38] Speaker B: You ball it all up into a big ball for the tablecloth, and just like. Like a person skipping on. Skipping out on a train. You put it as, like, a sack on the back of you, and oh, Ooh. Ooh. That had blood in it.
[00:42:52] Speaker C: That's gonna leave a stain.
[00:42:53] Speaker B: Good enough.
As you just like hobbled your way out the room.
Unbearable pain.
[00:43:00] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:43:01] Speaker B: Can I get a constitution savings for me, please?
[00:43:03] Speaker C: Yeah, you're good at those.
Should be good at those, right?
[00:43:10] Speaker A: 18.
[00:43:11] Speaker B: 18 you.
No, I'm not gonna make it weird.
I'm not gonna make it weird. You grab it or did you make it weird?
[00:43:23] Speaker C: I don't know. He dropped a coin in his butt.
[00:43:25] Speaker B: You me grabbed.
You grab your dagger and you bite onto it as you stick your hand into the fire. And it's not really the pain of burning your hand, it's the smell. You've had that. It's the smell that almost takes you out and also fills the room as everyone smells burnt flesh.
[00:43:46] Speaker D: Get out of there.
[00:43:48] Speaker B: Carterized.
[00:43:49] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:43:49] Speaker B: Carterized indeed.
[00:43:50] Speaker C: Their only direction for us was do it silently. That was the only.
[00:43:55] Speaker A: I did it silently.
[00:43:56] Speaker B: Two more points of damage.
[00:43:58] Speaker C: Okay, Jackie said technicality.
[00:44:02] Speaker B: As you grab your semi bleeding finger and you put it into your pocket of some sort and the hurling has stopped.
The black eagle looks at you and he. Then I do that thing.
[00:44:19] Speaker A: I do that thing that birds do to each other where I like and like, I just kind of like cock my head. Like
[00:44:27] Speaker B: give me an intimidation check based on your strength.
[00:44:30] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:44:31] Speaker C: He's being so gentle with us.
[00:44:33] Speaker A: Oh, that's not. I'm not rolling well guys, well, that's a 12.
[00:44:38] Speaker B: Also remember like you're level five. So like. Yeah, this the DCs for checks are not.
[00:44:44] Speaker C: I just super high giving us a lot of opportunities is all. I mean, yeah, you should maybe leave.
[00:44:49] Speaker E: I don't know.
[00:44:49] Speaker B: With a 12, you cock your head and you. And you kind of just like give these disturbing eyes of like. Yeah, I just definitely just call head
[00:44:58] Speaker D: finger in the fire. You're like.
[00:45:01] Speaker B: Hogu just looks at you and just is like.
And then he hears a ruckus going on in the rest of his place and he looks at you and he scurries off that way.
[00:45:10] Speaker A: I'm going to go outside on the way.
Is there any drinks on these tables?
[00:45:21] Speaker B: Yeah, there's a wine glass next to the furbolt.
[00:45:24] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm gonna. I'm gonna take it, shoot down it and bolt out of there.
[00:45:30] Speaker B: You did do that, didn't you? I did.
[00:45:33] Speaker A: I'm going to.
[00:45:34] Speaker B: Can I get a dexterity saving?
[00:45:36] Speaker C: Insane choice after insane choice after insane choice.
[00:45:41] Speaker A: Oh, fudge.
[00:45:44] Speaker C: Wait, what are you doing? Don't you have advantage on this because
[00:45:48] Speaker B: you're a barbarian with danger sense. Yes.
[00:45:50] Speaker A: Thank You.
[00:45:52] Speaker B: I got you, girl.
[00:45:54] Speaker C: It would have been so funny if it was worse.
[00:45:56] Speaker A: Saving throw, right? Yeah, that's a 17.
Still not good.
[00:46:01] Speaker B: Still not good meat to beat. As you see the long arm of the Furbolg with a cane, as he whaps it, almost like trying to hook your leg. And as you, like, squawk up just a little bit and fly a little bit over the cane, you see him daggers in his eyes.
And you see him almost look like he looks every part of you up and down.
And then he slowly goes back to his wine bottle and he says, orville, I need another glass.
And Orville's, like, managing.
[00:46:42] Speaker C: There's blood, there's vomit, something's on fire.
One of the tables is missing a table block.
[00:46:49] Speaker B: You see, as you're walking out, or maybe running, the craziness of it all, there are people outside before you get there, one person for both of y'.
[00:47:01] Speaker C: All.
[00:47:01] Speaker B: As y' all get outside, there will be two more.
[00:47:04] Speaker C: When you get outside, we can maybe change the music.
[00:47:10] Speaker B: Garth and Merlin. You see, you thought you had seen weird sights today, and you have. You truly have.
A naked bird was not on your list of weird sights, though.
[00:47:24] Speaker C: A what?
[00:47:25] Speaker B: A naked Kinku. Specifically, who bought the one that was
[00:47:29] Speaker A: hanging out with us.
[00:47:30] Speaker B: Yep.
[00:47:33] Speaker C: Bye.
[00:47:33] Speaker D: Bye.
[00:47:34] Speaker B: Has no clothing on, no weapons, no nothing. And, like, his plumage, kind of, that covers everything. But also weird. Weird that he's out here with nothing on. Yeah, but he's just, like, Shrugs his shoulders, as in, like, I don't know
[00:47:54] Speaker C: what else to do.
Daniel is the king of, like, the subtle, unexpected joke. It's amazing.
Also, kind of bomb. Noah didn't give me a kiss goodbye, but it's fine.
[00:48:05] Speaker B: Kisses straight away.
[00:48:07] Speaker C: Kisses everybody.
[00:48:09] Speaker B: And he just stands there with nothing on.
[00:48:12] Speaker C: And y' all kind of just, like, are out with y' all's eyes. Well, I walk out with a necklace and I go.
[00:48:20] Speaker D: I pull out. Sorry. I pull out, like, a water sack, and I start cleaning the tablecloth.
[00:48:25] Speaker C: Well, if I can, I'm there with the cymbal. And I go, oh, and that one. Yeah, that song, for some reason, is louder than all the others, for whatever reason. But no, no, yeah. I walk out, I'm, like, holding the cymbal. Surprise. And I look at the bird and go. And then I see the other gnome run out with the tablecloth and start washing the blood out. And I go.
And then the courtroom walks out with a hand covered in blood.
[00:48:49] Speaker A: No, when I walk out, I go with the hand. It's like, okay.
[00:48:53] Speaker C: And I Just, I go and I just tuck the Sibiloy into my cloak.
I walk 15ft away from them.
[00:49:02] Speaker B: Oh yeah.
The only other two people that come out with things is Chandra who has arm in arm with that other Yuan Ti guy. And almost as if he's like blushing over her and he's like that one and the bird with the white on.
[00:49:20] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:49:20] Speaker D: Oh, thank you.
[00:49:21] Speaker B: I don't have you on to use Sally.
[00:49:22] Speaker C: No, it's all right.
[00:49:23] Speaker B: Anyway, and he. It's almost as if she has charmed him to come on out.
Yeah, she got it. That's fun. She got it. I thought the kinky guys outside and then the. That one that you did have, the one with the black cloth, he has two clogs hanging from his hands.
[00:49:43] Speaker C: Like the shoe.
[00:49:44] Speaker B: Yep. Very nice clogs. Very beautiful.
[00:49:48] Speaker C: How.
Yeah, I mean, isn't that what Andrea got two years ago or three years ago? That's crazy.
[00:49:55] Speaker B: Clogs, Clogs again.
You see the warforged once more out there waiting, seeing all of the accoutrements that you've gained.
And she looks at everyone, seeing everyone have what they were supposed to have, except for the one without a finger. And she like, oh, I, I dig
[00:50:16] Speaker A: around and I hold up the finger,
[00:50:20] Speaker B: you see.
No, no shock wash over her face cuz she's a warforged. So she doesn't have expressions, but you feel a mental pang of just like oh, were those the only fingers you could find?
[00:50:39] Speaker C: You walked out with your own finger. And her question was, are you stupid?
[00:50:44] Speaker A: Can I answer back in my head or do I know?
[00:50:47] Speaker B: No, you would have to speak out loud.
It's a weird thing. It's not as if she's casting message, but it's almost a transient abilities that she has.
[00:50:58] Speaker A: I just kind of like fur my brow and go.
It was easiest.
[00:51:08] Speaker C: Which that means Phaedrix says just out loud. No one said anything. And she went, it was easiest.
[00:51:16] Speaker B: I think everyone kind of looks at you just like.
[00:51:19] Speaker A: And then I look around and go.
[00:51:23] Speaker B: As she says, no, you've passed a second crawl.
[00:51:34] Speaker C: I take that into the third room.
I put the symbol in my pocket and then I just close my eyes and tilt my head back awaiting the bag.
[00:51:48] Speaker B: Very true. As another bag is put and cinched over each of your heads.
[00:51:53] Speaker C: The moment it goes over my head, I go, I'm breathing in again hard.
[00:51:57] Speaker B: Each of you feels like you are giving back things that you may have traded or taken. Not me, not you. You still have to think that you traded.
Not me.
[00:52:12] Speaker D: So I Give. They take the tablecloth.
[00:52:14] Speaker B: They do. They take all of the stuff that you give them. And you.
[00:52:17] Speaker C: I feel my focus return to me.
[00:52:19] Speaker B: Yes, you feel your focus return to you.
Almost a. The sense that you get from the warforged is a sense of.
That was a good job. That was a good job.
You get a sense of extreme, almost laughter or giddiment at a destroyed tablecloth being brought to this area.
But nonetheless, she takes you all and you walk again.
Hours upon hours of walking.
Not days, for you have still in the same day, but maybe almost at the end.
The final resting hours of this day in the beginning of the next one.
[00:52:58] Speaker C: Wow.
[00:52:59] Speaker B: As you walk once more, this time not into the open woods, this time not into open towns.
[00:53:08] Speaker D: Into lava.
[00:53:10] Speaker B: What?
[00:53:11] Speaker D: Into lava.
[00:53:12] Speaker B: In the lava. Exactly. You all die in lava.
[00:53:17] Speaker A: I need to cut my finger off.
[00:53:20] Speaker C: You didn't have to cut your finger off. That's the thing.
BO1 they're like. They go to the next location. They're like. You are the only three remaining sticks that are handcuffs on your finger.
[00:53:32] Speaker B: Dampness.
The smell of watery dirt.
Smell of a cave.
Mustiness.
Calm down.
[00:53:44] Speaker C: Sorry.
[00:53:45] Speaker B: Calm down.
[00:53:46] Speaker C: Energy. I'm sorry.
[00:53:51] Speaker B: No noise accompanies your venture, except for the quiet pings of water in different places as you travel.
An immense cavern or even a. Oh, crap, I forgot the word.
Long place.
Long place of where water used to be.
[00:54:16] Speaker D: Canyon.
[00:54:16] Speaker B: Canyon. There it is.
Thank you very much. A canyon. Place of water used to be as. We need to go to our third map here, please.
Ow.
[00:54:30] Speaker D: I hit my knee.
[00:54:30] Speaker A: Third map just dropped.
[00:54:32] Speaker D: I think I'm gonna die.
Oh, man,
[00:54:36] Speaker C: this is a crazy one shot.
[00:54:39] Speaker A: If there's one thing I do with small campaigns, it's gonna body parts.
[00:54:45] Speaker C: That's. Dude, very true. It's like your main quality.
[00:54:49] Speaker D: I'd like to be here.
[00:54:51] Speaker C: I mean, it's better than the larms.
It's better than the alarms.
[00:54:55] Speaker B: Yeah, the child's actually.
[00:54:59] Speaker A: Why is my Ginku friend naked? Is he still naked? We never learned.
[00:55:04] Speaker C: What was up with that?
[00:55:05] Speaker B: I don't know. Maybe you'll see with the bags off. Well, he had nothing on his napkin, so he had to leave with nothing.
[00:55:12] Speaker A: Oh my God.
[00:55:13] Speaker B: Abby.
[00:55:14] Speaker C: Abby.
[00:55:18] Speaker A: No, it's bad.
That bad?
[00:55:22] Speaker D: Oh, no, no.
[00:55:23] Speaker B: The final crawl you stuck started this. That you come to in this area I like. This is a large, immense.
[00:55:31] Speaker C: Oh, yeah.
[00:55:32] Speaker B: Cavern.
[00:55:33] Speaker D: Have you played this before?
[00:55:34] Speaker B: Zach has played this.
[00:55:35] Speaker C: Like three years ago when it was different.
[00:55:37] Speaker A: Cheater.
[00:55:38] Speaker D: Cheater.
[00:55:39] Speaker C: I got in. I didn't do this.
[00:55:43] Speaker D: Why are you cheating her.
[00:55:45] Speaker B: Four people stand, ah, wait. Awaiting you.
Your bags are taken off your heads.
You hear scurrying footsteps away. You see a clothed Kinku.
[00:56:02] Speaker D: Oh, nice.
[00:56:04] Speaker B: A.
Oh, I don't need that one. The tiefling in there, that's next to the bird. Yeah, take that guy out.
You see you three and then three others. Chandra, the Yuan Ti that y' all never interact with, and the other Kinku bird.
[00:56:23] Speaker C: This is the Yuan Ti guy?
[00:56:24] Speaker B: Yes. Okay, as you see, four people this time. The new one is a centaur lady.
[00:56:36] Speaker E: Oh,
[00:56:38] Speaker B: I really am freaking sure. I put places where I added descriptions of these characters, but I just don't have them. Here we are.
[00:56:47] Speaker A: We forgive you.
[00:56:49] Speaker B: You see an older, almost like 40 to 50 year old lady.
She has light brown fur as her horse side of her, and she has like almost blondish brown hair.
And she has like these hazel eyes and a dark complexion and. What are you doing?
[00:57:08] Speaker C: I'm listening to you. You are not keep describing.
[00:57:12] Speaker B: And she looks at you all and she claps slowly, methodically, she says, it seems the four winds have a bumper crop this year.
[00:57:24] Speaker C: Hello, dm, What's a bumper crop?
[00:57:27] Speaker B: A bumper crop means a lot of crops.
[00:57:29] Speaker E: Oh, okay.
[00:57:29] Speaker B: Yeah.
Looks like we have six finalists and a robot. A golem.
[00:57:40] Speaker D: Well, he's with me, man.
[00:57:41] Speaker B: Blue is. Is that related to you? And she gives a smirking nod. She says, oh, I know, I know all about it. Melon.
[00:57:52] Speaker D: Give a little nod.
[00:57:53] Speaker B: A fun name to give it. The name that it is.
I am Pina, the Northern wind.
This is a Ladriel. And Trom, the Southern wind. Oh, and Blue, the western wind.
We.
And you hear Eladriel cackle a laugh. And then Trom. You see him doing this one, Pina. Does that mean that I'm a fourth wind?
I could give them a run for their money, I promise.
And Pina exhales an exasperated sigh. She says, we are the cardinal winds of Derues Asterds.
[00:58:51] Speaker C: Eladril was the southern wind.
[00:58:52] Speaker B: Southern wind.
[00:58:53] Speaker D: Well, they're both the southern wind, right?
[00:58:55] Speaker B: It does seem that like that is the air about what she was saying, as it doesn't seem like Trom believes that he is a wind, but is possibly part of the wind package.
[00:59:07] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:59:08] Speaker C: And then Blue was the western wind. Okay, okay.
[00:59:12] Speaker B: No, no, no. I'm so sorry. Blue is the northern wind and Pina is the western wind.
[00:59:16] Speaker E: Win.
[00:59:17] Speaker B: So sorry. So sorry everyone. I only remember that because I remembered names that I just now remembered. Isn't that fun for y' all to hear?
[00:59:25] Speaker C: The listeners are loving this.
[00:59:27] Speaker B: The listeners are loving it, baby.
You all are all that remains of the dregs we have dragged from the corners of the plane.
We have seen your cunning in puzzles, your stealth or resolve in stealing, your ability to gather and disseminate information, your thoughts about sharing information at the most important times.
Each of us has chosen for you to be one of our crews.
But sadly, we still need one final test, one final crawl of this endless pub crawl.
Your final challenge is a choice.
Choices have not been given to you very much.
We have seen some of you interact with teamwork, but not all.
Our organization is one that thrives off of making quick, quick choices and teamwork with whoever you can manipulate.
We need to see how each of you do here. And now.
These important tricks of the trade are going to be highlighted with the final task.
First, I need each of you to tell me if you're going to do this individually or collectively with a group of your choosing that is pinnacle.
You have three minutes to discuss with those around you. See what you will do.
Begin.
[01:01:09] Speaker D: Okay, I turn to. I look at Chandra to gauge her.
Like, where is she looking? What is she looking at?
[01:01:16] Speaker B: She is examining the cavern.
She has been told all this information, but she is like looking and smelling and trying to figure out where in the world this cavern is.
And then as she sees the words have been ending the task being given, she looks at you all and she says, I would love a team up. I.
I know I've made allyships with you.
Would you like to be in the team?
[01:01:40] Speaker D: Absolutely. I see.
[01:01:42] Speaker A: We.
[01:01:44] Speaker D: Well, how's your whole. How's your sword holding skills with your new wound?
New situation still fine.
[01:01:54] Speaker A: I'm left handed.
[01:01:55] Speaker D: She's got some nerves. So I say we get her on our side.
[01:01:59] Speaker C: I turn inward and I say, up
[01:02:01] Speaker E: until now I've been focused on solo operations, but I can see that I'm in the company of skilled individuals. I will lend you my abilities.
Hello, I'm Gartholomew.
I've been tribesman the fourth, but my.
[01:02:19] Speaker D: Do you want to be on our team, sir?
[01:02:21] Speaker C: I give a like a wry smile and I go.
[01:02:23] Speaker E: My allies called me Gartholembu Almond Drought for shot.
[01:02:30] Speaker A: I'm not gonna remember that.
[01:02:33] Speaker C: With the hand she holds out the
[01:02:35] Speaker A: hand that shake and she goes, fieratrix feather sword.
[01:02:42] Speaker C: Basically it's lock. My name. It's my name, but that's fine. And I reach out and I touch her and I shake her hand and I go, ew. And I pull it.
[01:02:48] Speaker A: You can Call me Fae or Fair or feather sword, whatever.
[01:02:53] Speaker D: So we've got the.
We've got the. The four of us.
[01:02:59] Speaker B: They look to the other two.
[01:03:00] Speaker A: I look over at the Kinku and
[01:03:01] Speaker B: I go like the Kaku actually looks at you all and just said.
And backs away from your group, only wanting to do it on its own.
Okay. And the Yuan T, no surprise here, does not join anyone.
[01:03:19] Speaker C: I look, I look at him and
[01:03:20] Speaker E: I point and go, he's really creepy. That's coming from me
[01:03:26] Speaker B: Time.
Seems we have three groups this year before.
Interesting collective. Good.
[01:03:36] Speaker D: Yes ma'.
[01:03:37] Speaker B: Am. Got a couple of crazy ones, I guess that's always needed in certain times.
And you see the other two and he says, well, that's all right, is it not?
I have three choices for you.
And she looks and she's like, traum, Trom, Trom, Trom. Pick a number between one and three trump and Trom rolls a die number one.
I want to see the big group first.
She's like, ah, fair enough. Traum.
The four. The group of four.
You have three exciting options before you sacrifice one of your own.
Tell me where we are or fight tr.
[01:04:34] Speaker A: Oh my gosh.
[01:04:37] Speaker B: Easy options. Yes, with four should be quite easy to pick between one of the three options.
[01:04:45] Speaker A: Do we have a time limit? Does she say a time limit?
[01:04:47] Speaker B: No, she. Then she finishes off which says, nonetheless, take your time.
You have nowhere else to be.
[01:04:58] Speaker E: Do we need to work this out before the others have to do it?
[01:05:01] Speaker C: Is it like a one at a
[01:05:02] Speaker E: time sort of thing?
[01:05:04] Speaker B: Depends on if they're eager or not.
And you see the Kinku and they look at him and says, yes, Krittle.
And you see the Kinku and he comes over and he like, he mimics in some sort of way. And you see Blue hold up her hand and she looks at him and they start talking. And it's almost as if she is.
As she. She like grabs out of her back a like fan of sorts. And this metal fan comes into existence and she like wafts. And as this like wind goes through her and like a song kind of forms, she casts the spell sending.
And she's able to send back and forth between Krittle and in that way.
[01:05:49] Speaker C: And that's cool.
[01:05:51] Speaker B: It's a conversation. No one hears, no one sees. And as she blows, the wind calms down. A cool air flows through the cavern. And she says, CR has chosen, has told us.
Or actually no, she doesn't.
She motions to Pina and they have a little conversation. And then Pinya Looks over and she says, good job, Krittle. That's exactly where we are.
And you see Blue pulls out a coin and she gives a coin of what looks like a terrible beast with like tons of tentacles coming out of its head or body. It's really hard to see the coin.
And on the other side there would be almost like a snowflake of some sort as Blue gives Krittle her coin. And Krittle like bows a little bit and does a bunch of weird mimicry noises and then trots out so.
[01:06:56] Speaker A: Well, that wasn't Krittle's coin. That was Blue's coin.
[01:07:00] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:07:02] Speaker B: Blue has given it. What seems is that Blue has given Krittle a coin, registering that he is part of her group of derues asses.
[01:07:13] Speaker D: Okay, can I like, I'm gonna.
Can I just do a quick check of my surroundings to see what I can glean from that?
[01:07:24] Speaker B: Can you give me either.
Well, what kind of gleam are you trying to get? Are you trying to figure out the nature of the place around you? Are you trying to look for clues? Are you looking for just whatever pops into your head or eyes?
[01:07:39] Speaker D: I'm trying to get some kind of clue that might give me a hint of where to start on where we are.
[01:07:43] Speaker B: Give me investigation.
[01:07:44] Speaker C: Then.
[01:07:48] Speaker D: It's a 10.
[01:07:50] Speaker B: A 10. A 10.
The things that catch your eye is the water in the back here.
[01:07:55] Speaker D: Okay.
[01:07:56] Speaker B: With these vines with.
You can't quite put what flowers are growing out of it, but there are vines crawling towards the water from the inside, which is crazy because there's not. Doesn't look like there would be much sunlight down here.
[01:08:11] Speaker D: Okay.
[01:08:11] Speaker B: But maybe the moisture is keeping them alive.
[01:08:13] Speaker D: Yeah.
[01:08:13] Speaker A: Is it nighttime, though?
[01:08:15] Speaker B: You don't know what time it is.
[01:08:16] Speaker C: We're just in a cave.
[01:08:17] Speaker A: Oh, because we're in a cave.
[01:08:19] Speaker D: That's right.
[01:08:19] Speaker B: I forgot that it must be getting close to like 11 to like 11pm to 2am almost because there's just. You've been walking so very long, so
[01:08:33] Speaker D: we can't see the sky. Okay.
[01:08:38] Speaker C: Noticing what Merlin was doing. Except that I don't know his name.
Can I also be trying to piece together what I can see?
[01:08:49] Speaker A: Sure.
[01:08:49] Speaker C: Or is that like.
[01:08:50] Speaker B: Are you trying to do the same kind of.
[01:08:51] Speaker C: Yeah. But I mean, is that.
[01:08:54] Speaker A: I'd like to do a check to see if this looks like a place that I've been. Like, if it might be ever do like if it.
[01:09:03] Speaker B: Give me a history check.
[01:09:04] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:09:04] Speaker C: Yeah. 16.
[01:09:06] Speaker B: A. 16 out of 10. Okay.
[01:09:08] Speaker A: Well, that's fine. That's a four.
[01:09:10] Speaker B: A four, man, the pain in my hand.
But no, I mean, a four. You know Everdell very, very well. You know that there are no caves or caverns in Everdo. Yeah, but I mean, that's. That's all, you know.
A16.
Those flowers look very reminiscent of the flowers that you saw inside the Black Eagle Tavern.
Oh, you would say they're identical, one might say.
[01:09:47] Speaker C: Under the Black eagle. Doesn't make sense. We wouldn't have walked so long.
[01:09:53] Speaker B: Do you remember what flowers were in the Black Eagle?
[01:09:55] Speaker D: Roses.
[01:09:57] Speaker A: Moses supposes.
Moses supposes. Supposes.
Singing in the brain.
[01:10:07] Speaker B: Do you share this information?
[01:10:09] Speaker C: Yes.
[01:10:09] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:10:11] Speaker C: I turn around to the group and I go,
[01:10:15] Speaker E: there's a rose.
[01:10:20] Speaker D: Can I do an arcana check to just check for general magic and. Or like.
Like, I want to try and see if I can tell if this is fake.
[01:10:34] Speaker C: Sure.
[01:10:35] Speaker B: Give me an arcana check
[01:10:39] Speaker D: that's gonna.
21.
[01:10:42] Speaker B: A 21?
[01:10:43] Speaker D: No. Yes.
[01:10:44] Speaker B: A 21.
[01:10:45] Speaker D: No, sorry, not a 21. An 18.
[01:10:48] Speaker B: Well, that changes everything. 18's fine. 18. You would notice that this is not an illusion of any sort. It doesn't seem like you are in, like, a pocket dimension, because that would feel very different. This feels like the real world. This smells like it.
There's definitely magic coming from Traum's axe.
It seems very sharp.
You do see that there are magical pendants on Eladriel, and there is obvious a magical fan that you saw blue do.
And I mean, you notice that there's artifacts you hear with magic, but nothing else quite sticks out.
[01:11:34] Speaker D: Okay, what are these things?
[01:11:37] Speaker B: Stalagmites. And stalactites. I didn't do very well at doing those. No, I. I get it.
[01:11:42] Speaker D: I would like to go touch one.
[01:11:43] Speaker B: Okay.
You touch it. And it's weird because it's not super damp, but it's also not, like, extremely hard. It's like in this weird mixture as if this place is kind of wet a lot of the time and even, like, a bit musty.
[01:12:05] Speaker D: Okay.
[01:12:05] Speaker B: It almost smells like a good place as you feel the cool of the air to, like, put alcohol, like.
[01:12:15] Speaker D: Okay.
[01:12:16] Speaker B: A nice little cavernous area.
[01:12:18] Speaker D: Okay, I.
This is a long shot. I would like to cast identify on the stone specifically to see if I can get some kind of clue as to what part of the world I might be in.
[01:12:34] Speaker B: Okay, I'm gonna look at that scroll real quick.
[01:12:37] Speaker D: Okay.
[01:12:40] Speaker B: I'm gonna be guessing you're probably gonna need to be making a check because I don't think that's how the spell is usually used. But I like the way it sounds.
Yeah. That's not how the spell is normally used. So give me an arcana check to see if you can change the magical properties of the spell to use it to your devices.
[01:13:08] Speaker D: Ooh, this is arcana.
[01:13:10] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:13:11] Speaker D: That's a 22.
[01:13:12] Speaker B: With a 22, you, Zach and Jackie really have this session two energy going down.
You cast it on the rock, and it's a weird. Well, actually, how does this spell look as you cast it on this rock?
[01:13:31] Speaker A: First cast of the first cast of
[01:13:33] Speaker D: the sea session, I'm going to pull out my tinkerers twice tools.
[01:13:38] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:13:39] Speaker D: And I'm going to, like.
It's like I'm not just, like, tasing the spell. I'm like. I'm, like, truly investigating it and, like, trying to identify it. And as that happens, the magic kind of like, wells up in my hands and then goes into my tools and then flows back into my mind, and then I have knowledge.
[01:14:03] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:14:03] Speaker B: Yeah. Heck, yeah. As this flourish of magic, as you're carving a bit and pieces off of the stalagmite, you're trying to figure out what in the world where in the heck you are.
And as you identify this area, you seem to have been in an area.
I mean, this is a giant cave. And the identify spell lets you know that you.
I do like the way it works. I'm just trying to figure out how to communicate it in a way that's not gonna just give away the answer.
You can tell the where the dirt is from.
[01:14:44] Speaker D: Okay.
[01:14:44] Speaker B: Like, this is not a northern spot. This is not a southern spot. This is the dead center of Megan Grun, the center point of it all.
And if you give me a history check, you could probably very easily DC10.
[01:15:00] Speaker D: How about 17?
[01:15:01] Speaker B: 17 definitely tells you. This would be a. If you're. I'm in. If you're in the middle of the earth, you're in the Commonwealth.
[01:15:12] Speaker C: Sorry. Anyway. Sorry.
[01:15:13] Speaker B: No, no. So you find that you are in the commonwealth, and do you share this information with everyone else?
[01:15:20] Speaker D: I share that with my group.
[01:15:22] Speaker B: With your group?
[01:15:22] Speaker D: My team.
[01:15:23] Speaker B: Chandra comes over and she thinking about it, she says, we have been doing a pub crawl tonight. Right. We started in one pub, went to
[01:15:31] Speaker D: a second pub, and she said the end of your pub crawl.
[01:15:34] Speaker B: She did. She didn't. She?
[01:15:36] Speaker D: Well, she mighty fine did.
[01:15:40] Speaker B: So perhaps we are underneath a third pub.
[01:15:44] Speaker E: Yes.
[01:15:44] Speaker B: Do you know any of the pubs in the Commonwealth?
[01:15:47] Speaker E: I am very well educated on matters of socialite repute.
Let me think.
[01:15:55] Speaker B: All of you give me a history check. As you are thinking about these things,
[01:16:03] Speaker D: that's gonna be a 16.
[01:16:05] Speaker C: 16.
[01:16:05] Speaker B: Heck yeah. 16, 16. 11.
[01:16:08] Speaker C: 11.
[01:16:09] Speaker B: 11.
[01:16:10] Speaker C: She's just sitting there thinking and tapping her chin with the finger that's not there.
[01:16:14] Speaker B: Yeah, with an 11, though. Two 16s. We'll get more of the answer, but 11.
You know, there were a lot of, like, subtle terminology that was used today. You heard underneath, as if something you heard leering as a password that got you to a place.
And the flowers being underneath the cavern are the same flowers that were in the other pub.
There's. Your brain's thinking about all the history of the day, and you're just like, man, if I had a brain blast, maybe I could do it.
[01:16:52] Speaker C: She's just over there going, eagle rose on dirt.
[01:17:00] Speaker B: As you all brainstorm with the 16s, though, you talk and talk and talk and as you interact and you think about things and you think about all the things, things that you've seen today, three words stick out. A pub well known in the Commonwealth, the Leering Rose.
A very well known Commonwealth establishment. One of the first places where giants and small folk drank in the same establishment.
You must be underneath the Leering Rose is what you get with those history checks.
[01:17:36] Speaker D: Okay, Okay. I share this with my.
[01:17:40] Speaker E: You solved it.
[01:17:42] Speaker A: Are you sure you don't want to fight the big guy?
[01:17:44] Speaker B: I look at.
[01:17:45] Speaker C: I look at her and I go, you definitely should.
[01:17:48] Speaker D: I, like, flex my. And I'm like, well, maybe another day.
[01:17:52] Speaker E: Hey, I never meant. You're a gnome.
[01:17:57] Speaker D: Well, and so are you, sir.
[01:17:58] Speaker E: Yes. And your whole. An artificer.
[01:18:01] Speaker D: Yes, sir.
[01:18:02] Speaker E: Under whom have you studied?
[01:18:04] Speaker D: Well, I studied under.
Oh, I studied it at artificer college in the forest.
[01:18:13] Speaker E: In the forest.
[01:18:16] Speaker D: That's where I was for a time during my studies.
[01:18:20] Speaker E: Never mind. I'm ready to solve.
[01:18:23] Speaker D: Well, do you want to go tell those.
Those scary people what we found you should do?
[01:18:31] Speaker C: I turn away dramatically.
[01:18:32] Speaker D: You've got the social charm.
[01:18:34] Speaker C: My whole. Oh, sorry.
[01:18:35] Speaker A: No, no, I'll go with them.
[01:18:37] Speaker B: As you all turn to start going with them and you're like, we've got the answer that Yuan Ti did not have. Good luck as you to think and to know and to be around places.
He did not want to sacrifice himself, obviously.
So he has chosen the third option.
And he is saying, I declare Traum as my enemy.
And he like, pulls out.
[01:19:03] Speaker C: I start walking. I start walking back.
[01:19:05] Speaker B: He pulls out two daggers and he says, fight me, you stupid monster mountain. And he's like, super, super flagrant.
[01:19:13] Speaker E: Fight me, you stupid.
[01:19:15] Speaker B: Yeah, And Traum with giddy you have never seen in a man.
[01:19:20] Speaker D: We're gonna watch someone die.
[01:19:21] Speaker B: All of his muscles tense. His body jerks and jerks again. And as you see his body shift, muscles protrude, arms get larger, legs get larger.
His whole mass turns from the medium sized, almost large in and of himself to.
To a large sized trom.
[01:19:49] Speaker C: So more than 10ft tall.
[01:19:51] Speaker B: 12ft tall.
[01:19:54] Speaker D: 12ft. Trum.
[01:19:55] Speaker B: 12ft.
[01:19:55] Speaker A: Truman High School big guy.
[01:19:57] Speaker C: I'm 3 foot 9, he's 4 of me.
[01:20:01] Speaker B: Turns even within size with him as he grabs his axe and he says, he roars a bellow.
Let's fight.
As you see and smell just a terrible sound coming down the leg of this Yuan Ti.
As you see tears that you've never seen a Yuan Ti cry before as he runs towards it.
[01:20:28] Speaker D: Can I run up to Alondra?
[01:20:31] Speaker A: Alondra?
[01:20:32] Speaker B: Aladriel?
[01:20:33] Speaker C: I don't think Alondra's there. Actually.
That'd be a really different scenario.
[01:20:37] Speaker B: Okay, okay, okay, okay.
[01:20:38] Speaker C: So cool, cool, cool, cool. I would also like to declare an action dm. I'm gonna back way off of what I was doing. In fact, I'm gonna move 10ft backward on the map and then I'm just gonna cast invisibility on myself and I'm turn myself invisible. I pull out my little tool and I go, well, that looks like a bad idea. And I touches them on the head and I disappear. Hell yeah.
[01:21:00] Speaker B: Can you roll me? Initiative?
[01:21:05] Speaker C: I'm out of there. Good luck.
[01:21:07] Speaker D: Yeah, yeah, I got a 13.
[01:21:13] Speaker B: Okay, cool.
Well, did you want to get in on this?
[01:21:18] Speaker A: Actually, no, I think I'll just like.
I'm not gonna try to like, get. I'm not gonna try to like, just got like, get out of the way or any like. I'm gonna try to get out of the way, but I'm just gonna like, like let them do their thing. Like, I'm not going to step in.
[01:21:30] Speaker C: That's crazy. Jackie thought it wasn't a good idea. That's wild.
[01:21:34] Speaker B: Jackie, the one who cut her own finger off.
[01:21:36] Speaker A: Hey, I already got. I'm. I'm. I got. I'm losing hit points.
[01:21:41] Speaker B: This character right here, Trum is this big. Now you see this guy, this guy with his two daggers comes up and he pulls him out and.
Yeah.
Oh, he hits trom. He pulls out one of his daggers and it looks like as he like covers it in poison real quick and he like, almost like with his tongue, he like cuts his blood onto the tongue as he does it. He pulls Everything.
And he stabs it right into Tromp. And Trom laughs and a. A. A laugh that slowly boils from.
Yes, pain. Bring it into my life. Let me flow.
[01:22:33] Speaker E: Let it flow.
[01:22:35] Speaker B: As he readies. But our artificer here is faster than Traum as the guy tries to disengage, engage.
But somehow Trom grabs him with his arm. He says, no, no, no. You don't go anywhere.
Merlin, what would you like to do?
[01:23:00] Speaker C: Run into a Ladriel, right?
[01:23:02] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah.
[01:23:02] Speaker C: That's what.
[01:23:04] Speaker B: Heck, yeah.
[01:23:06] Speaker C: Yeah. You, like, go across.
[01:23:08] Speaker B: What do you do when you get to Eladriel, which Aladriel, as you run up to him, he likes, is not enjoying the fight, but he's just like.
He's expecting what's gonna happen. And then a little gnome runs up to him, and he kind of, like, shakes his head and he's like, yes, now, ma'. Am.
[01:23:26] Speaker D: Now, ma'.
[01:23:27] Speaker A: Am.
[01:23:30] Speaker C: Was that on purpose? Was that an intentional job?
[01:23:34] Speaker D: No, no, no, I say, no, sir.
[01:23:36] Speaker C: No, I think it was now, ma'. Am. I don't know, Abby. I think it was.
[01:23:41] Speaker D: It's because I keep thinking, Alondra, when
[01:23:43] Speaker C: you said, now, ma'.
[01:23:44] Speaker A: Am. No, I say. I say, okay.
[01:23:46] Speaker D: I say.
[01:23:46] Speaker C: I say, dear Lord Jeebus.
[01:23:47] Speaker D: I say, fine, sir.
[01:23:51] Speaker E: Good.
[01:23:52] Speaker D: Fine, sir.
[01:23:52] Speaker C: Abby, you have a mic we've provided you with.
[01:23:55] Speaker D: I say. I say, fine, sir. Good. Fine, sir. I just wanted to posit the idea. I think this young fellow didn't think he wanted to be on our team, but I would be happy to consider him on our team. And we happen to have the answer to your puzzle, in which case I would like to present that answer.
This guy did not mean to start a fight with Thrum. He's on our team.
[01:24:18] Speaker C: Behind. Behind him. Trump's going, where?
Where?
[01:24:21] Speaker A: Like the hole.
[01:24:23] Speaker D: And I have the answer.
[01:24:25] Speaker B: He looks at you and he smirks
[01:24:28] Speaker C: for just a second.
[01:24:30] Speaker B: Can you give me a persuasion check?
It's gonna be a very high dc.
[01:24:34] Speaker A: Could you do it on advantage? I'm waving.
[01:24:36] Speaker D: Can I use my.
[01:24:40] Speaker B: You sure can.
[01:24:42] Speaker D: I don't like using it.
[01:24:44] Speaker B: Oh, no, no, no. I appreciate.
[01:24:47] Speaker D: Feels like cheating.
[01:24:48] Speaker A: It does feel like cheating.
[01:24:49] Speaker B: Well, again, you may get.
[01:24:52] Speaker D: It helps.
[01:24:53] Speaker C: It's not.
[01:24:53] Speaker B: It's not a guarantee.
[01:24:55] Speaker D: It helps.
[01:24:55] Speaker B: Not divine.
[01:24:56] Speaker D: It helps.
[01:24:57] Speaker B: Aladriel looks at you and he smirks. A really, like, probably the biggest smile you've seen this guy crack the whole time.
And he, like, hasn't cared about anything.
And he just looks at you and he says, I do like someone loyal to even Enemies.
It's charming to know that some people are wild cards.
And my. My wild cards are some of the best wild cards in the game.
Here's what I'll say.
And he puts his hand in his pocket and he brings out a syringe filled with this terribly gray and purple liquid. And he says, traum is a eccentric man.
Big, strong.
When you. When he rages, it's hard to get him to stop.
Give me a history check. As you see this vial
[01:26:10] Speaker D: one. Oh, no.
[01:26:14] Speaker B: Do you have a plus seven to history?
[01:26:15] Speaker D: Yeah.
[01:26:16] Speaker B: Sick.
[01:26:16] Speaker C: Welcome to DMing Fresh.
She makes many characters, but they're all.
[01:26:21] Speaker B: They're all the same character with an eight.
That's a drug.
That's a drug. That's what you got. And he says, I like your spunk.
He throws it into his other hand. He gives it to you and says, stab Tron with this and I will allow it.
[01:26:41] Speaker D: Yes, sir.
[01:26:44] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:26:45] Speaker B: So Trom, let me get my stat block out here.
Oh, yeah.
[01:26:51] Speaker D: Should have saved my little core.
[01:26:54] Speaker C: And that.
[01:26:54] Speaker B: I'm gonna say that's all your action because that was probably a lot of your movies.
[01:26:57] Speaker D: That was a long action.
[01:26:59] Speaker B: You see Trump?
Yeah, yeah.
[01:27:09] Speaker C: Did you. Did you hear the sound he made when he looked at the staff block he hasn't looked at in a while?
[01:27:15] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
He pulls out his axe, and in a blood curdling scream, he recklessly attacks.
Eighteen plus 11 is 29.
[01:27:32] Speaker A: 29.
I got less than a week.
[01:27:35] Speaker B: I'm gonna say 14 is this guy's AC.
So how many degrees of success is that?
[01:27:42] Speaker C: Oh, oh, oh.
[01:27:43] Speaker B: Two.
[01:27:43] Speaker C: Oh, yeah.
[01:27:44] Speaker B: Three.
[01:27:45] Speaker C: Well, it's every five, Right? That's three degrees of success.
[01:27:49] Speaker B: So degrees of success for anyone who doesn't know is every plus 5 you get above someone's AC, you add a D4 to damage.
[01:27:57] Speaker C: Home rule I really like.
So let me know what you guys think of it.
[01:28:01] Speaker B: Guys, Guys.
[01:28:04] Speaker C: He pulled out three D12s.
So that means the damage die without the degrees of success for one axe hit was 3D12.
[01:28:13] Speaker B: So you see this axe crystallize as the bronze turns from a shiny bronze to a darker brown as ice encapsulated, darkening it from the outside degrees.
[01:28:30] Speaker A: I love this character.
[01:28:31] Speaker E: I just realized what is subclass size is.
[01:28:33] Speaker B: Yeah, he's a giant baby.
[01:28:35] Speaker A: Yeah, giant baby.
[01:28:36] Speaker B: And he's a.
[01:28:42] Speaker C: Wow, That's a crazy dichotomy.
[01:28:45] Speaker B: Yeah, it is actually crazy.
[01:28:48] Speaker E: Strength modifier.
[01:28:50] Speaker B: Yep.
[01:28:51] Speaker C: This is his first attack, right?
[01:28:57] Speaker B: 36 points of damage.
[01:28:58] Speaker C: Hey, good luck with that syringe.
[01:28:59] Speaker B: Merlin from the first axe. 36. 36 points of damage from the first axe cleaves the right side of this man off.
The hand that held the dagger no longer there as the side freezes instead of Carterizes as you see this guy.
As the second axe.
[01:29:23] Speaker A: Beatrix thinks in her head, been there.
[01:29:30] Speaker C: This is the thing Daniel does. He never rolls the same die.
[01:29:34] Speaker A: I love watching Daniel play in person because there's so many beautiful dice on
[01:29:37] Speaker D: the chicken in it.
[01:29:38] Speaker B: It does have a chicken in it.
[01:29:39] Speaker D: It's great.
[01:29:42] Speaker B: Another 31 points of damage.
[01:29:45] Speaker C: That was 77 points. 77 points of damage.
[01:29:48] Speaker B: In a turn, he flips the axe, and as he brings the. The greataxe down on the other side, this guy has just become armless as both sides freeze to the ground and both of his daggers fall from his grasp. As you see, this guy begins to try to cry.
And the ice forms down his sides as he has gone into shock, no longer able to do anything.
It's his turn now, and he just looks. And he falls to his knees and begins to weep, speaking in a draconic tongue that none of you know, praying to the different deities that he might know.
[01:30:32] Speaker C: I can't raise your.
[01:30:33] Speaker B: It is your turn.
[01:30:34] Speaker D: Okay, let me just spray this.
[01:30:37] Speaker B: You have a syringe in hand. Can I.
[01:30:40] Speaker C: Part of my turn. Can I move while invisible? Another 10ft away. Oh.
[01:30:43] Speaker B: Would you like to enter the combat?
[01:30:45] Speaker C: I'd like to move 10ft further away.
[01:30:47] Speaker B: I'd like to leave as an invisible man. I'd like to get further away. Yeah.
[01:30:52] Speaker C: In fact, I'd like to hide behind moose while invisible.
[01:30:56] Speaker B: Give me advantage. Give me an advantage. Excellent for stealth. Yeah. Yeah.
[01:31:02] Speaker D: Is it an action to administer the syringe?
[01:31:05] Speaker B: It would be an attack action. Yes.
[01:31:07] Speaker D: Well, so, okay. So it would be an attack action.
Okay, well, what's that?
I'm gonna look back at.
[01:31:23] Speaker B: Aladri.
Aladriel.
[01:31:27] Speaker C: I'm gonna look back at the laundry and say, ma', am.
Dear, dear lady. Laundry, ma'. Am.
I'm so bearish Southern, I do declare. Would you like a corn from my butt?
[01:31:46] Speaker D: And I'm gonna hand back this cerebral.
And I'm gonna say, you made it a syringe.
And I'm gonna say, I want you to know I'm a loyal team member.
But I am a smart team member.
[01:32:06] Speaker B: There you go.
[01:32:07] Speaker D: I thank you for the opportunity and for the grace.
[01:32:11] Speaker B: He laughs a knowing chuckle. And he says, I don't like getting close to him when things like this either.
[01:32:18] Speaker A: Astute.
[01:32:19] Speaker B: He puts the syringe back in his pocket. And as we get back to Trom's turn, we're not gonna roll damage. Crazy. Oh yeah.
As he brings around the axe again. He's 12 foot tall. His axe is like 8, 9ft in length at this point. As he brings the axe back around and he says, let the blood flow blood brother.
As he brings down the axe and he just splits him right in half. And as the sides they don't split, they freeze together.
As the axe sends a cold rush of air throughout the area.
[01:32:56] Speaker C: He cuts them in half and then at like freezes the two split halves together.
[01:33:01] Speaker D: Wow.
[01:33:01] Speaker E: That's so brutal.
[01:33:02] Speaker B: He then brings the axe back around for his second attack.
Clearly a dead opponent in front of him.
[01:33:09] Speaker D: Uh huh.
[01:33:10] Speaker B: He does not bring down the axe part, but brings down the hilt. And he starts beating him to a pulp.
An icy frozen destroyed pull.
[01:33:24] Speaker C: I look away.
[01:33:26] Speaker B: It's a rather gruesome scene.
[01:33:28] Speaker D: Yeah.
[01:33:28] Speaker B: 30 seconds.
[01:33:30] Speaker C: I look away and cover my ears.
[01:33:33] Speaker B: Gore.
As you see him laugh and giggle like a child grabbing a present that he's been expecting for a long time.
It goes deathly quiet for a good chunk of time.
As you see him come from a large creature back down to medium size.
It's crazy that he only grew three feet.
[01:34:04] Speaker D: Wow.
[01:34:05] Speaker B: least in height.
As he rests on his axe.
Not bloodied at all.
[01:34:12] Speaker D: Wow.
[01:34:13] Speaker B: For the blood was frozen to the body.
As he moves back into the position next to the four winds.
I'm so glad one of them chose the fight.
Did the four choose? They seem strong.
I liked you see, Eladriel put a hand on his shoulder and bring his hand back as it freezes just a little bit. And he cast precipitation once more to warm up his hand. And he says, they seem to know the answer. Tromm.
No more butchering tonight.
As the four of you who peed a little.
[01:34:55] Speaker C: You what? You peed? I peed a little. Yeah.
[01:34:58] Speaker B: Yeah.
Do you give the answer?
[01:35:01] Speaker D: Yeah.
[01:35:01] Speaker B: I say.
[01:35:02] Speaker A: Where your invisible body is standing.
[01:35:04] Speaker D: We're underneath the leering rose in the Commonwealth.
[01:35:09] Speaker B: Eladriel nods, Pinion nods, Blue nods.
And they say, very well done.
Very, very well done, friends.
I'm glad you were able to see what happens to those who wish to leave our organization. Oh, it's a good reminder of what death looks like next to a monster.
And Trom, with this garish terrible helmet on, gives you the biggest smile, teeth prominent as he just looks at each of you and he says, I will know your sense. Well,
[01:35:54] Speaker D: your sense.
[01:36:03] Speaker C: Of anyway.
[01:36:06] Speaker B: Aladriel gives a coin to Merlin Says, with that coin, as long as you hold it and as long as you are in good standing with Derues, the monster will stay under the bed.
[01:36:26] Speaker A: I start walking up now that the
[01:36:29] Speaker B: madness that's Trom puts his hand out, puts his hand out to Eladriel, grabs a coin from his pocket and says, you strong cut your own finger off.
I like.
I like a manic one, yes. He takes it.
But you do need a finger, don't you?
A ladridge.
[01:36:56] Speaker C: Wait, Blue.
[01:36:57] Speaker B: I don't want to view a cleric.
And Blue nods and she comes over.
[01:37:04] Speaker A: I take the finger out of my pocket and just go, here. I get rid of it.
[01:37:09] Speaker B: You try to take the finger out of your pocket.
[01:37:11] Speaker A: Oh, but it's not there.
[01:37:12] Speaker B: It was a prize.
[01:37:13] Speaker A: Oh, that's right.
[01:37:14] Speaker B: To be taken and held on to, my friend.
She pulls out one of many spell scrolls that almost like form out of her legs. And she pulls out a spell scroll. She pulls it out as she begins incanting. And she pulls out her fan and like starts to wave it and the song begins to sing once more out of the blue. Warforged as.
Ooh, you weren't this close the last time it was o. It's a bit haunting as almost like a dead chanting of former life fills your hand as the charred remnant of where your finger was.
Oh, this is gonna be fun.
Could you Roll me a D6 and a D10?
And if you get a 6 on a D6 where you roll it?
[01:38:08] Speaker A: I got a 6, a 4.
[01:38:11] Speaker E: Did you roll a 6 and a 10?
[01:38:12] Speaker A: Yeah, I will. Just 6 and a 10. So I got a 4 and then a 10.
[01:38:16] Speaker B: So 40.
[01:38:20] Speaker D: Yeah.
[01:38:23] Speaker B: Oh, fun.
She casts. I think it's regenerate limb or regeneration.
[01:38:30] Speaker C: Yeah, regeneration.
[01:38:32] Speaker B: She casts regeneration on your finger through the spell scroll.
[01:38:34] Speaker C: That's crazy.
[01:38:35] Speaker B: Yeah.
For your notice. It doesn't seem like she. She is that strong, but she has the capabilities, right?
[01:38:42] Speaker C: The scroll.
[01:38:42] Speaker B: Yeah, she has a scroll to cast.
And instead of a bird finger that comes out of your hand.
[01:38:51] Speaker D: No.
[01:38:52] Speaker B: Oh, is that fur?
Oh, is that brown fur?
As a satyr's finger regenerates out of your hand and it's just ever so longer than your middle stats because satyr's finger, stupid, have weird hand proportions.
And you have like a nail now, which is also weird because the rest of your hands are claws.
And there's still this burn mark all around where your finger used to be.
A forever reminder of what you did tonight.
[01:39:24] Speaker A: Cool.
[01:39:25] Speaker B: And the. The dread from the spell that she cast upon your hand leaves and now you have a satyr finger in your right ring finger.
As she looks at you and then looks at Traum.
And again an implacable face.
But she says into your mind, Beware of the monster.
And she leaves.
Pina comes up to our friend here.
[01:39:56] Speaker C: I reappear.
[01:39:58] Speaker E: Hello, ma'.
[01:39:59] Speaker D: Am.
[01:39:59] Speaker B: Yes, I think I like someone who has a good relationship and flattering.
Bella Gold. Bella Bor. Goldfinger told me a lot of a very respectable young man.
[01:40:12] Speaker C: I straighten up
[01:40:15] Speaker B: also, encapture or no, acquaintanced with Maria.
Could definitely be something I would wish to further inquire about.
[01:40:28] Speaker C: I give a wry smile. I twist my mustache. I pull out my.
My enchanting tool. And I like flourish it. And I cast presidigitation. And I confidently whisk the urine away from my pants. And I slide it back into my coat.
[01:40:41] Speaker E: And I say, milady, I am your horse.
[01:40:51] Speaker C: I reach out for the coin.
[01:40:52] Speaker E: Yeah.
[01:40:52] Speaker B: She gives you the coin with the gorgon's head.
[01:40:54] Speaker C: Yes.
[01:40:54] Speaker B: And the tree with the wind.
[01:40:56] Speaker C: I take it.
I put in my cloak and I. I pull out my journal and I start scribbling and like doodling.
[01:41:04] Speaker A: What did my coin look like?
[01:41:05] Speaker D: Yeah, what did mine look like?
[01:41:06] Speaker B: Y' all two got the same coin. Oh, wait, the mind flayer again.
It's more prominent. Huh?
You have a new one because you had the other one last time. But both of you got a bigger coin. It almost is like.
[01:41:19] Speaker C: Like a medallion.
[01:41:20] Speaker B: Yeah, a medallion sized coin.
And this one heft to it. And on the other side is that same Phantom of the Opera mask with an elf ear coming out of it.
Signifying you are part of the Southern Winds group.
You also feel, especially as an artificer, that there is some magical nature to this.
You would maybe cast identify to see it all. Yeah, but would you cast it now?
[01:41:48] Speaker D: No, I'll do that later.
[01:41:49] Speaker B: That's fine. As you gain your medallions, and you see, Chandra also gets a medallion from Eladriel.
And she takes it and she nods her head, puts it in her pocket.
As you see Pina say, at least you got one this year. Blue, just like me. Seems like Eladriel always gets the best of the crops.
[01:42:14] Speaker C: Though I make a face.
[01:42:17] Speaker D: I also make a face. I'm like, yeah, I'm like.
I adjust my little scarf.
[01:42:23] Speaker B: We'll see how they pursue their ambitions through our organization.
There are things to know, things to be said.
We are not friends.
We are acquaintances.
We know you, you know us. I nod.
We are not loud and boisterous. As Aladriel and Trom try to be, we will send you information. We will talk to you via your medallions.
Keep it all here at all times.
Show it to no one but of our own group.
And do not. Sorry, I was.
[01:43:22] Speaker C: Okay. I was like, what? Who's playing drums?
[01:43:25] Speaker B: And do not.
How do I say this nicely? Drama and Eladri Aladro. You're the one with the words. Please speak it for us. As Pina relinquishes away her thoughts, Eladrill says, yes. Yes.
You may be asked to do a mission that you do not like, and that is fine.
Know that if you dismiss our requests, it will be the last thing you do.
Do not push our.
I'm trying. Sorry it's late, guys.
[01:44:09] Speaker C: No, it's okay. No judgment for me.
[01:44:11] Speaker B: What is the word? Do not postpone a confirmation of our missions.
We'll be in contact.
You have a stipend, as always.
You may use it on whatever you want.
Just know that if you do not answer our call, do not have the funds to get to where we need you to get to.
That is on you.
That is not on us.
[01:44:39] Speaker E: I'll pick up. Every time
[01:44:43] Speaker C: you see Eladrio just going.
[01:44:45] Speaker B: He, like, gives a little smirk, and you see Pina just, like, sigh, but
[01:44:50] Speaker E: really, every time, really quickly.
[01:44:54] Speaker B: Yes, I'm sure you will, Garth,
[01:45:00] Speaker C: but I did it, like, really quietly to me. Yeah, yeah, but, like, not, like, just, like, smiling, like.
[01:45:06] Speaker B: Yeah.
They look at you all and they say, that's all for now.
Your pub crawl is ended.
We shall see you on the other side.
I hope that you also know that our caverns, our ways to get there fast. Show that we are everywhere, and we will find you if you do not not answer.
And that is where we're going to end.
[01:45:44] Speaker D: Yay.
[01:45:45] Speaker C: I open up my journal and I go back to all my notes, which had as my last thing I. I'm. I'm doodling all of my different, like, all the things I learned, all the things about the organization. I also go back to the doodle I've been working on for six minutes, which is I'm not a skilled artist. A crude drawing of Pina, like, kind of like Chibi drawing, like, kissing a little tiny gnome dude who looks a lot like me. And I'm doing little hearts with her initials in mine.
She's everywhere on the page. And then I go. And I turn the page and I go back to notes.
[01:46:19] Speaker B: Well, rad.
Thanks for listening, guys.
[01:46:24] Speaker D: Yes, very cool.
[01:46:26] Speaker C: You're welcome. Also, we're sorry that was wild.
Thank you for joining us for late night craziness and some mania. I think we were just we haven't gotten a play in person like that in a while and I think we were enjoying it.
And this will now lead into some, eventually some more grounded and serious stuff with Durngal and who knows where that could go. It could get pretty interesting from here.
But if you've enjoyed this, there are additional resources on the Patreon and that's okay.
[01:47:01] Speaker A: No, no, please don't do that.
[01:47:03] Speaker B: Asmr, baby.
[01:47:05] Speaker C: Anyway, enjoy the Patreon if you haven't. Also, if you're a longtime listener and you've never rated us on Spotify, please
[01:47:11] Speaker B: feel to do that.
[01:47:12] Speaker C: I really love you and all. And also that. So life is an incredible adventure, listener, and you're an important part of it. We look forward to seeing you next time.
[01:47:20] Speaker D: Goodbye, lovely listener.
[01:47:22] Speaker C: And when we return to to the Accidental Adventures, it'll be a very different tone.
[01:47:27] Speaker D: We'll see you next time.
[01:47:28] Speaker C: Lovely Wild and Dada.
