[00:00:02] Speaker A: Welcome back. Barely. Dnd you are sort of Dungeons and Dragons podcast. It's Nickel and everyone else. We're the Accidental Adventures. And we're feeling, oh, so accidental right now because we made an oopsie somewhere. [00:00:23] Speaker B: Now. [00:00:23] Speaker A: Big bad guys. [00:00:24] Speaker C: Nah, we didn't. [00:00:27] Speaker B: But that is the most appropriate use of that image ever. [00:00:34] Speaker A: The picture of a cat looking kind of scared and concerned, but also a little overstimulated, which also for the. [00:00:41] Speaker B: For the listener is a picture of my cat after having a little too much catnip zooted out of her mind staring dimensions. That's what that picture is. [00:00:50] Speaker A: That's good. I had a letter to question that I think is pretty relevant. [00:01:00] Speaker B: Okay, get them, bro. [00:01:01] Speaker A: Your character were a kind of citrus, what would it be? [00:01:04] Speaker B: All right. [00:01:05] Speaker A: What? [00:01:07] Speaker B: Okay. [00:01:07] Speaker A: If it was a citrus, what would it be? [00:01:10] Speaker B: All right, what does one letter. [00:01:14] Speaker A: I dare you. [00:01:17] Speaker B: Citrus. It is. I suppose. [00:01:21] Speaker C: I know, I know. [00:01:23] Speaker A: Gross. I don't mind. [00:01:26] Speaker C: Row would be a grape lime soda made with real. [00:01:30] Speaker A: No, no. [00:01:31] Speaker C: A real citrus lime, but with grape and fizz. [00:01:37] Speaker A: The fizz isn't citrus. [00:01:43] Speaker B: Who's the dmnpc? [00:01:45] Speaker C: I don't know. [00:01:47] Speaker B: To this mess of a question. All right, Thespice. [00:01:53] Speaker A: I'm sorry, Zach. Are you disappointed in my citrus question? [00:01:56] Speaker B: No, it's the kind of citrus. No, no, no, it's fine. [00:02:01] Speaker A: I mean, I probably should have done the vark. [00:02:06] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:02:06] Speaker B: But here we are. [00:02:08] Speaker A: But here we are. [00:02:08] Speaker C: We already did the bark. [00:02:10] Speaker B: Because we already did the bark. What? [00:02:14] Speaker D: What citrus would thespis be? [00:02:17] Speaker A: Well, he doesn't get to go first. [00:02:20] Speaker B: Okay, who's going? [00:02:23] Speaker C: He went. [00:02:24] Speaker B: I love when my. [00:02:25] Speaker C: I love the moments where a grape lime soda. [00:02:28] Speaker A: Okay, I'd be a grapefruit. I'd be a grapefruit. Because you never know what you're gonna get. [00:02:36] Speaker B: That's solid answer for Christ. [00:02:40] Speaker C: Don't you kind of always know what you're gonna get with a grapefruit? Like, it's always going to taste like a grapefruit. [00:02:45] Speaker B: No. [00:02:45] Speaker C: Unless you accidentally buy an orange, which I have done before. [00:02:50] Speaker B: And she's being vulnerable. Listener. She's being vulnerable, and we're going to respect that. Okay, fair enough. I can feel that grebe garb. [00:03:00] Speaker E: Lemon. [00:03:02] Speaker B: Lemon. [00:03:03] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:03:03] Speaker E: Because it's salad and a little, like, unaccessible. But it's good if you mix it with other things and it can make a really good tea. [00:03:11] Speaker B: Big agree. [00:03:12] Speaker E: It can be really, like. Like soothing and. And cool and, like, refreshing. But you have to, like, work with it a little bit. [00:03:24] Speaker B: Now I want Dandelion tea. Now I want dandelion wine. When Landon told us that Melanie made that, I was like, oh, I want to try that. [00:03:35] Speaker E: But my favorite. [00:03:37] Speaker C: I like it would make me sneeze. [00:03:42] Speaker B: All right, you just. [00:03:44] Speaker E: You just chop up, like, a whole lemon and stuff it into the teapot, and then mince up a lot of ginger and put some honey in. And it is so good. It's so delicious. [00:03:56] Speaker C: Did Craig already go, vegans make honey out of dandelions? As a true thing. That's a true fact. I'm serious. [00:04:08] Speaker A: Don't laugh at me. [00:04:10] Speaker B: It's not that the things you say about vegans aren't meaningful. It's just that it's hard to not have it be part of the joke at this point, you know, like, it's meaningful stuff you're saying. It's just based on where we're at and all this. [00:04:24] Speaker A: I thought he walked away because he was trying to. [00:04:27] Speaker C: I'm not gonna hear it. [00:04:33] Speaker A: Well, he was next. [00:04:37] Speaker B: Okay. [00:04:37] Speaker A: He's dancing for the cats. [00:04:39] Speaker D: Let's see. [00:04:39] Speaker B: For thespis, [00:04:42] Speaker E: like, he would be an orange. [00:04:45] Speaker D: I was thinking that, but then I thought, I don't know. [00:04:49] Speaker B: I feel like that's too. Okay is. That's not vegan, by the way, if you didn't know, that's just a little [00:04:58] Speaker E: too bacon in the toilet. [00:05:01] Speaker C: I'm sorry. [00:05:01] Speaker B: Sorry, listener. They're playing with. With emojis in the chat. If you hear something and you're like, I don't understand. [00:05:07] Speaker C: We're sorry. [00:05:11] Speaker B: Mike, message. Who poops bacon? This guy. But I ate bacon today, so I'll poop bacon later. That got Micah. She's clap. Silent, laughing, slapping her face. Okay, okay, okay. Thespis would be. I think thespis would be guava, because [00:05:36] Speaker C: I don't think that's a citrus. Is it? [00:05:37] Speaker D: If it's not, back off. [00:05:39] Speaker B: I'm trying desperately to answer this out of pocket question. He would be a citrus guava because it's a citrus kind. It's like a guava, but citrus. And that would be great. [00:05:53] Speaker E: It's a lot. It's a lot. It's a lot, but it's a little grapey. [00:05:56] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:05:57] Speaker C: So it's rough. [00:05:59] Speaker B: I do not like the phrase a little grapey, but moving on, because guava, like, it's a bit of an acquired taste for a lot of people. And depending on the guava you get, it could be really good and really bad because he was a fruit salesman, and it took a long time for the party to appreciate him. And he kind of had to ripen a little bit as a soul before he could be pleasant to the taste. And I don't care that it's not a citrus. I'm trying. [00:06:27] Speaker C: I looked it up. [00:06:28] Speaker B: Yeah, this is really. [00:06:34] Speaker A: I just got from making. You have to answer what kind of citrus in your character. [00:06:39] Speaker B: Yeah, it was some nonsense, but honestly, I made you guys say the word curved on to lamul, but didn't. Did a couple times. So it's only. That's only fair. We're just getting even with each other. [00:06:51] Speaker E: Did we figure out what citrus Craig was a grapes fruit. [00:06:57] Speaker B: Okay, but if guava is not citrus enough for you, thespis would be fish soda. Are we ready to get going? [00:07:06] Speaker A: Yeah, let's go. I believe in us. [00:07:10] Speaker B: Interestingly, fish soda is vegan and made with real fish. [00:07:14] Speaker C: That's not. [00:07:16] Speaker B: So [00:07:18] Speaker E: you know what it is. Argue about it. Because it is made with their P, so they kind of argue whether or not it's actually vegan. [00:07:27] Speaker B: This is taking me back to. Do you remember the is P vegan discussion we had that one time? [00:07:32] Speaker C: We talk about P way too much on this podcast. That's the only reason we're still assorted Dungeons and Dragons podcast. It's like 80% D&D, 20% piss. [00:07:46] Speaker B: Guys, there are so many good shows [00:07:48] Speaker A: that kind of defines our day today. [00:07:51] Speaker B: Barely D and D, 80 D, 20 piss. That's just. That's good. [00:07:57] Speaker C: The new Instagram bio. [00:08:02] Speaker E: That's the worst thing I've ever seen. [00:08:12] Speaker C: I typed in P in the emojis. [00:08:17] Speaker E: His emoji, like, it's just a story. [00:08:20] Speaker B: And the emojis. The emoji is just a lot of piss. And here's the worst thing. [00:08:25] Speaker C: Micah put Zach underneath it. [00:08:27] Speaker B: And so here's the. Here's the worst thing. Listener, if you're thinking to yourself a piss emoji, could you really make it clear that an image just of yellow fluid is kiss without anything else in the picture? And here's the thing. Here's the terrible news I have for you, listener. Yes. Yes, it is clearly pissed. And I can't even explain to you why it is, but it is. [00:08:50] Speaker E: That's so disgusting. [00:08:55] Speaker B: Anywho, are we ready to have a session very different than this moment? [00:09:00] Speaker E: Yes. [00:09:00] Speaker B: I do ask of you all to participate in this tone. [00:09:04] Speaker C: In this tone. [00:09:05] Speaker B: In this tone, obviously. Obviously. I mean, in the tone of the session rather than this moment. If I meant the tone of this moment, I would say in piss tone, and that would be different. But in the tone of the session. See, like that moment right there. I made Abby laugh so hard she roared laughing and tilted her head back and laughed with her head tilted back for two seconds. The listener. Guess she's doing it again. And the listener got none of it, but that's fine. Okay, Abby, I promise not to make one mention of piss in the speech at your wedding. That is. That is my promise to you. Okay. I'll leave that to Micah. But no taking nerds. This is a level 16 adventure. The date is 3488 PB CB call the 13th AMEC a m m e C H. [00:10:07] Speaker D: Okay. [00:10:08] Speaker B: Gotta prepare myself for this mentally. All right. Last episode was episode 173 of the Accidental Adventures. A breath. This is episode 174 before the fall. All right. Remember that you can adjust the music on the left if you want, more or less. Greta. [00:10:52] Speaker E: Yes. [00:10:53] Speaker B: You have just been told. And Craig is still hearing old common Greta. You have just been told she was the fifth blade. The veil is torn and the words have just been said and are echoing in your ears as hairs stand up on your body and your stomach turns having heard those three things. He is coming. [00:11:33] Speaker E: Yeah, Greta, like, I feel like her mind is just like, like absolutely blank. But she knows, like, what she needs to do and what she should do. And I think normally where she's like, can be a little indecisive and a little unsure. I think it's just like crystal clear what she needs to do. And even, you know, like, even if it's the wrong choice and it might be the wrong choice later in this moment, she's like, I have to. [00:12:02] Speaker B: An urgency finds her. [00:12:04] Speaker E: Yes. Yeah. So. And I feel like that is almost like more. She finds like a peace and a familiarity in panic and like, comfort. This is like. This is like her zone. Like she's. Then you're like, this is like she's lived here. Yes. Yes. For, like, long periods of time. So she just. She just, like, she just holds out her hand for Craig and she says, craig, the stone in. In common. [00:12:37] Speaker A: He hands it over. [00:12:39] Speaker E: Okay. I, I grasp it and I, I. She has like, one hand on, like, the, the back of like, Shista's head, and she's just like holding Shista and. But she reaches out to Alondra and like, as she says, wake up. Wake up. Shista is. She's. She's here in her old form. The maker brought her back. She says the veil is torn. [00:13:16] Speaker A: We. [00:13:16] Speaker E: We have to go. [00:13:19] Speaker B: You hear what sounds like a. Like a sharp sort of like startled even Snorted inhalation. Like a. [00:13:29] Speaker D: What? What? What? Greta, what did you say? [00:13:33] Speaker E: She says, the maker restored Shista. [00:13:38] Speaker D: Slow down. What do you mean, Greta? [00:13:41] Speaker E: The maker restored Shisto. We're bringing her back now. She says it's. Listen. She said the veil is torn. Call call doors. Well, call call. I. I will be there soon. And she disconnects. [00:14:03] Speaker B: You let the connection go. And then a voice pierces your mind a moment later and says, what do you mean? [00:14:10] Speaker D: What do you mean? [00:14:11] Speaker E: The vaguest I look. I look to Shist and I say, who was it? [00:14:20] Speaker B: In. In old common. [00:14:22] Speaker A: Yes. [00:14:22] Speaker E: Yes. [00:14:25] Speaker B: She's like she's pulled her knees to her chest. She has no clue. She's starting to shiver a little bit. It's not cold, but it's not warm. And parts of this landscape are very cold, are very warm. But this area is cool. But it's hard to tell if she's shaking. She seems more like she's shaking from terror. She pulls her knees to her chest. She looks late, middle aged. She has rather common features and lines on her brow, as though someone who spent a fair amount of her life in deep thought. And worn, if worn looking eyes, though in this moment they look gripped by fear. And a tiny little scar back far on the edge of her jaw, a small one. She pulls her knees her chest and shakes. She just looks up at you and she says, [00:15:19] Speaker D: the herald, Savina. [00:15:24] Speaker E: Okay. [00:15:24] Speaker D: The vessel has been sacrificed. [00:15:29] Speaker E: Greta nods and she just says to her, I understand. [00:15:32] Speaker A: We're. [00:15:33] Speaker E: We're gonna. We're gonna help. [00:15:35] Speaker B: She turns, a lady's there. I mean, you're not dumb. You've put together. This is. Shista has been physically reconstituted. She has said something to Greta in a language you don't understand. Greta's responded. And then Greta. Greta picked up the sending stone, or asked for the sending stone and spoke into it. And you heard Greta say the words for the first time. The veil is torn. He is coming. For the first time, you heard those words. Greg and Greta, you have this response. [00:16:04] Speaker E: Greta. Greta turns to Craig and she says, help me get her on the broom. We have to get back to the group. [00:16:14] Speaker A: In fact, did she say she was close? [00:16:17] Speaker B: She is not. [00:16:17] Speaker E: She's not. [00:16:18] Speaker B: Also, Micah, you sound very distant and far now. You're a little hard to hear at the moment, Micah. I'm not sure why, [00:16:28] Speaker A: but do I have anything? [00:16:30] Speaker B: There you go. Thanks to the artwork. You have a big cape and you can unclasp it from your armor with some effort. Thanks to the artwork, she can wrap Herself in that and you do she clothes herself. It's not. It's enough. It's enough because it is a cape made for a dwarf, but it's flowing and thick and large. Yeah. Comfort. Yeah. [00:16:56] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:16:56] Speaker D: So. [00:16:57] Speaker B: And so she is. She's able to clothe herself with it. [00:16:59] Speaker A: Okay. [00:17:01] Speaker B: And in her incredibly stunned and shocked state and that small layer, that small shield against the environment around her seems to be doing her some good. As her shaking reduces a little. [00:17:17] Speaker E: I. [00:17:20] Speaker A: Can we fit on Greta's room or. [00:17:22] Speaker E: No, I'm looking. I don't see a maximum. [00:17:28] Speaker B: I will say the three of you will just barely fit, though it might be quite reduced speed. [00:17:37] Speaker C: It was a good idea, wasn't there? [00:17:41] Speaker B: Yes. Yeah. [00:17:42] Speaker A: I will be in the back. [00:17:44] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:17:44] Speaker E: Okay, so we. We get on the room and we're flying. I. I'm gonna call Nifty. [00:18:00] Speaker C: Wait, did you answer Alondra? [00:18:03] Speaker E: No. [00:18:04] Speaker B: Oh, so she's deep in the role play girl. Let her do it. [00:18:08] Speaker C: No, I was just. I was asking. [00:18:10] Speaker B: No, I'm just. [00:18:12] Speaker E: We're gonna. I'm. I'm gonna call Nifty and I'm. I'm gonna. I'm just gonna call Nifty. [00:18:16] Speaker B: It feels heavy in your hand. [00:18:18] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:18:18] Speaker B: To make this call [00:18:22] Speaker E: Nifty and I just call out. [00:18:27] Speaker D: What? [00:18:28] Speaker B: Grapes? What are you doing? [00:18:31] Speaker E: Are you sitting down? [00:18:34] Speaker B: No. Am I sitting down? [00:18:37] Speaker E: Yes. [00:18:41] Speaker B: Okay, give me. Give me a second. Give me a second. [00:18:43] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:18:44] Speaker E: Do I remember if there was a. If there was a name that Shista had before she was Shishta? [00:18:50] Speaker B: Shista was always her name. [00:18:51] Speaker C: It was always Shista. [00:18:52] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:18:54] Speaker C: Sure it wasn't Brittany? [00:18:56] Speaker B: I had to put some. Some items down, but I'm sitting just on the floor. It's dirty, but it's fine. [00:19:02] Speaker E: The maker. The maker, Rose Shista, she's with us now. [00:19:12] Speaker B: What [00:19:14] Speaker C: killed her first? [00:19:16] Speaker D: What do you mean? [00:19:16] Speaker B: Greta? [00:19:18] Speaker E: He. We. We killed her undead Shista. And he's. [00:19:26] Speaker B: You. You defeated the Lich Queen. [00:19:30] Speaker E: She's. But. But the maker. The maker brought her back. [00:19:38] Speaker D: What do you mean? [00:19:40] Speaker E: I mean, she's. [00:19:41] Speaker C: She's with. [00:19:42] Speaker D: You can't undo Lichtom. [00:19:45] Speaker E: Maker can. [00:19:49] Speaker D: She's alive. [00:19:50] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:20:04] Speaker D: I don't know what to do with that. [00:20:07] Speaker E: Well, I just wanted to. Damn. What? What? Yeah. Hold on. Yeah. [00:20:19] Speaker B: Sometimes I feel bad because these are insane moments I'm throwing at you all. Like, I don't know what you would do with this either. [00:20:25] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:20:31] Speaker E: Do I know what languages he knows? [00:20:38] Speaker B: No. [00:20:39] Speaker E: He's a human, right? [00:20:40] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:20:44] Speaker E: Okay, well, I'm. Yeah, I'm gonna Say. I. I just thought. I wanted. I wanted you to know we're on our way back to the group and I. I can. I can talk to you later. You don't have to do anything with it right now. You don't have to do anything with it ever. I just wanted you to know. I would want to know. [00:21:17] Speaker D: Okay. Okay. Okay. [00:21:24] Speaker E: Paul, if you need anything. [00:21:27] Speaker D: Okay. [00:21:29] Speaker E: Okay. [00:21:32] Speaker B: You disconnect. Greta. [00:21:35] Speaker C: Did Shista react any to that one sided from Greta? [00:21:40] Speaker B: Schista was blinking heavily and. Yeah, you have to talk. You have to talk out loud as you were going. Shiztha's with you all. She doesn't seem particularly. She's aware she's coherent, but holding onto you in the broom seems to be about all she can do at the moment. Not sure exactly how much is landing with her at the moment. She's in a delicate and somewhat unfathomable space at the moment anyone would. [00:22:28] Speaker A: Can I use the find Divine Sense? [00:22:33] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:22:34] Speaker A: She's good or bad right now? [00:22:36] Speaker B: Absolutely, Craig, absolutely. As you all are gliding at a pace through the air, not too fast, but at a pace the landscape should be 20. Moving below you rather rapidly. Craig, you focus and you with a hand that's wrapped around Shiztha and your thighs tightly gripping the broom, pressing the metal and your armor together, you reach a hand up over in your cloak and you get it down into your armor and you squeeze your symbol. And as you feel the sense emanate outward from you, invisible to anyone else, you sense nothing. She is fully human again. Because Divine Sense is not a magical read the world. It has very specific capabilities. And you sense no fiend, undead, aberration, fae or. Astral being. So. [00:23:37] Speaker A: Okay, yeah, that's promising. [00:23:39] Speaker B: You are in the presence of a human. [00:23:41] Speaker C: She is a human. Like she's a human straight up Humie. Okay. [00:23:46] Speaker B: Vanilla. Vanilla bean, bluebell Humie. [00:23:52] Speaker C: She got a Starbucks in her hand and a pumpkin spice latte like [00:23:59] Speaker E: damn, we're traveling it. I believe it's 10 miles an hour. No, 20. [00:24:03] Speaker B: 20. [00:24:04] Speaker E: How long until we get there? [00:24:06] Speaker B: About twice as long. Maybe like 16 minutes. [00:24:11] Speaker C: Is Alondra waking anyone up or is Ro. [00:24:14] Speaker B: You have not been awoken. Ro. Okay, you're sleeping. [00:24:20] Speaker C: No veil has been broken in my [00:24:21] Speaker B: dreams as you all back are moving across the landscape. Greta, with the highest passive perception. [00:24:33] Speaker D: Could you make a perception check for me? [00:24:38] Speaker C: Crap. This is his land. [00:24:40] Speaker B: Oh, [00:24:43] Speaker E: I didn't think about that. [00:24:46] Speaker A: I did not think about that. I did not think about that. [00:24:50] Speaker E: You didn't think? [00:24:51] Speaker A: Zach, don't throw up. [00:24:52] Speaker E: Don't throw up. [00:24:54] Speaker B: I'm locked in. [00:24:56] Speaker E: I got a. 13. [00:25:05] Speaker D: All right. [00:25:10] Speaker B: The trio glides forward. What were you saying about calling Alandra? Greta? [00:25:16] Speaker E: Yeah, I'm gonna call her again and I'm just gonna say, like, we're on our way. [00:25:23] Speaker B: There's no response. [00:25:25] Speaker E: There's no response. Okay. [00:25:33] Speaker B: You all glide. [00:25:35] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:25:35] Speaker B: Tension building. Greta and Craig, as you ride. This is in the small honors of the morning. Minutes after the ruined body, the nothing left behind, the Lich Queen was knitted together by Yahala back into a living form. Dead centuries, an impossibility in the divine cosmos, the spectrum you've witnessed a miracle day after facing one of the darkest heroes in this world. On the eve of the sacrifice of many of this world's most capable who gave their lives to make this moment a possibility. And in this ride back, in the silence, it begins to sink in. It starts to connect. It was a distraction meant to pull these forces here. Again, a veilblade was summoned. Again, a sacrifice was misdirected, as it was with Emperor Asgon, as it was with Oogway, whoever she was, [00:27:03] Speaker D: as it [00:27:04] Speaker B: was with someone thousands of years ago. And on [00:27:12] Speaker D: until five. [00:27:15] Speaker B: The veil's torn. This isn't something you have context for. The veil isn't something you think about. It's nothing you can see. I mean, you've thought on it, having learned of it. You've spent quite some time, especially you, Greta, arcanely considering it. [00:27:28] Speaker D: But it's nothing to you. But that moment, that sense that this world has worn an armor for three and a half thousand years and it's gone. [00:27:44] Speaker B: Craig, as you ride, [00:27:47] Speaker D: you think of old. [00:27:50] Speaker B: You think of the fear that's been building. [00:27:54] Speaker D: He was right. [00:27:57] Speaker B: And most of all, those three words move again and again in your mind. He [00:28:10] Speaker D: is coming. [00:28:14] Speaker B: Everything you've done was for this. [00:28:18] Speaker D: Everything you've done was to stop this. [00:28:28] Speaker B: As you all glide. [00:28:30] Speaker E: Yes, go ahead. I had a roleplay question. [00:28:36] Speaker D: No, go ahead, go ahead. [00:28:39] Speaker E: I just want, like, Greta, I think, is. She's facing all of this and I'm. I'm wondering if. Like, I'm wondering if she can feel it in her body at all. Because I. I imagine her. Like she has no frame of reference. Yeah. [00:28:59] Speaker D: Yes. It's like. [00:29:07] Speaker B: It's a feeling you're not at all unfamiliar with. Craig, you feel it too. You're arcanely touched, at least magically, so divinely. [00:29:16] Speaker D: But you're. [00:29:20] Speaker B: You have this preternatural awareness, like being [00:29:24] Speaker D: in the woods at night. [00:29:26] Speaker B: A wood you've walked a hundred times before but one evening feeling unsettled, no stimuli to make you or no stimulus to make you think there would be something, but this sense that, that hormonal [00:29:45] Speaker D: signal that something is wrong. [00:29:51] Speaker B: And you've had this feeling you all in your time together, in the almost three years you've been traveling with this party because that's how we're treating it in can [00:30:02] Speaker D: you. [00:30:03] Speaker B: You've felt this hundreds of times now from all sorts of evils, but this. It feels shallower, there's no immediate danger, [00:30:16] Speaker D: but it feels so much wider, as if in this moment all the world, as if the sky stretching end to end is a dark forest you're walking in and something's in that forest now and you just feel it, an unease, a presence. [00:30:47] Speaker B: And the broom moves forward, the broom of the duskwitch gliding over the landscape and finally in the distance you see [00:30:53] Speaker D: a small prince purple dome faintly, weakly [00:30:57] Speaker B: emanating light, its light catching on the side of a great gold dragon sitting upright as you approach. The dragon is no longer resting, looking out at the shadows. She sits upright and erect, her eyes [00:31:16] Speaker D: watching you all [00:31:19] Speaker B: like burning points of light in the night. [00:31:23] Speaker D: She can feel it too, [00:31:26] Speaker B: standing 40 or 50ft away, staring at you all as you arrive. It's a tall elven woman with black hair and pale skin and torn and bloodied robes as Alandra looks up at you all motionless, staring and you all [00:31:45] Speaker D: land and dismount from between the two of Shista stands. [00:31:51] Speaker E: This is crazy. I help Shista off the [00:31:57] Speaker B: the broom slightly displaces with each of your dismounts but still returns to floating and as you walk it kind of glides near you and Shiztha is shuddering and afraid and Alondra has gone stone still. She has the looks around before. Seeming to fixate on Alondra as if for a moment she she can fathom something, as if for a moment she's. Not like a face of recognition or of relief, but of getting pointed on something, as if for one moment this terror she's in is interrupted and for the first time in common well, it's a name, so maybe she's still speaking old common, but she just says Alondra. And Alandra's maybe 30ft away, just stock still, staring, her mouth very slightly agape, [00:33:25] Speaker D: just repeats Alondra. [00:33:34] Speaker B: Alandra's standing but she's like shaking a little bit or like, like swaying very softly, as if she's not stable where she stands. [00:33:48] Speaker E: I try and guide just every time I say her name, like I help her off the broom. I try and guide her. It's like, absolutely bananas, like, to hear that coming out of my mouth. But I like creatures pals now, that's crazy. But I kind of guide her towards Alandra. [00:34:09] Speaker B: As you lead her by the hand, your arm up over your shoulder, the human taller than you, you lead her toward Alondra. You lead them to about 10ft. And as just this pace slows, finally, as you get close enough, Alandra takes a single wavering step back into the stone. And she actually falters a little bit, like she's gonna fall over. Her hands instinctually lift to either side just slightly to waver and balance her. And then she lowers them. She's just standing with her mouth slightly agape with, like. She's even paler than she usually is. She's a very white woman, but her skin is flush like she's seen a ghost. [00:34:56] Speaker E: I'm going to walk up. [00:34:59] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:35:02] Speaker A: Alandra. I was given visions that led me back by my maker, the maker. [00:35:15] Speaker B: And she looks at you kind of confused. [00:35:20] Speaker A: And there was a point where he brought me back from bone, and he asked me to do that. And he brought her back in mercy. [00:35:36] Speaker D: Your maker, Sophia. [00:35:43] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:35:44] Speaker D: She looks up at Shtha and she says, shiztha. [00:35:48] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:35:49] Speaker B: And Shiztha kind of stands still, still looking a little confused. The dragon is, like, watching just stone still, scanning back and forth between each of them. And if a dragon could look worried, she, like, her brow furrows, and she keeps looking up at the sky, the stars, [00:36:14] Speaker D: and [00:36:18] Speaker B: a common that seems forced, a little unpracticed, says [00:36:24] Speaker D: the veil. He is. He is coming. [00:36:35] Speaker B: And there's this. As the gold dragon stands all the way up and her wings unfurl, and she just looks up at the sky, and all of you are awoken. Start, those of you who can wake. Thespis is out. Boz is out. The dragonborn Paladin is out. Like, only a couple. A handful of people wake up, but many people are in, like, a half a coma trying to recover from the trauma, the physical trauma the day before. But Tello, like, wakes up with a start and, like, unarmored, instinctually, like, his. His crossbow isn't even loaded, but he lifts it and points it for, like, looking startled. [00:37:19] Speaker C: And is it safe to say, like, I make eye contact with Tello, like, first thing, because I feel like we're in the tiny hut and then. [00:37:27] Speaker B: And you two both look at each other and look back and forth. You look up at all of you instinctually look at the dragon first this great, immense creature before remembering, like, yes, Ally. And then you look back, and you can see the dragon looking in terror. And you look over at Alandra wavering. Craig, Greta, and someone. You're all there. And Shista just repeats, [00:37:54] Speaker D: he is coming. [00:37:57] Speaker B: And Alandra, like, wavers on a foot, and she stumbles and falls back into the stone on her butt. I mean, she, like, hit. Punched her tailbone into the ground. But she looks shocked. She puts her hands down next to her on the stone. [00:38:14] Speaker C: And just when she does that, Roe runs out of the. [00:38:17] Speaker B: Okay. [00:38:18] Speaker C: Like, leaves the people in the bubble. [00:38:19] Speaker B: And Tello kind of, like, stands up. He, like, just puts. He, like, knocks a bolt, but doesn't load it yet. He doesn't cock it. He loads it. [00:38:28] Speaker D: And he. [00:38:29] Speaker C: Ro has one of her loots in her hand. [00:38:31] Speaker B: Like, he just looks around. He looks up at the dragon kind of questioningly, but the dragon has quit looking at all of you. She's just looking up at the sky. And Ro, you rush over to Alandra, and as you get over to her and put a hand on her, she's, like, very softly shaking, and she just [00:38:53] Speaker D: looks up at you and she says, he can't be. [00:38:58] Speaker C: I look to Greta. [00:39:00] Speaker D: What? [00:39:03] Speaker E: I. Go ahead, Craig. [00:39:06] Speaker A: This is a just. But her original form. [00:39:12] Speaker B: The maker looks up, startled. Paulo puts a hand on a mace. [00:39:17] Speaker A: Her original form before glitchness and stuff. She's just human. I checked. We're good. Except we're not. [00:39:29] Speaker C: What do you mean, the veil? [00:39:32] Speaker E: Just a little distraction. [00:39:35] Speaker B: Shista's, like, shaking, and she looks down at her own hands for the first time and, like, watches her fingers flex as if for the first time, she was able to kind of hear what you all said. I'm sorry, you were saying? [00:39:55] Speaker E: I say. I say it. It. Shista was a distraction. Savina was the last. The last veil or the last blade [00:40:10] Speaker C: has [00:40:12] Speaker B: Ro. [00:40:14] Speaker E: When? [00:40:14] Speaker C: How [00:40:16] Speaker B: you comprehend. [00:40:17] Speaker D: For a moment, the veil is torn. [00:40:23] Speaker B: And one more time, Alandra mutters, he can't be coming. [00:40:30] Speaker D: This can't have all been for nothing. [00:40:37] Speaker B: And all of you [00:40:40] Speaker D: feel this unease. [00:40:46] Speaker B: All of you feel this disquiet. [00:40:52] Speaker D: Can I get a perception check again? [00:40:55] Speaker C: Yeah, from all of you. [00:40:57] Speaker D: Got it. [00:41:02] Speaker E: I got a nine. [00:41:11] Speaker C: I got 31. [00:41:21] Speaker B: Greta, you're absorbed in. In all of this. Everyone is. Everyone is absorbed but Ro. [00:41:36] Speaker D: Actually, I'm gonna go with a different song. [00:41:38] Speaker B: Row, you're the. No, dang it. Ruined my own tone. That's fine. That's fine. I did want this one first. Then we'll go to this One Ro, where your stomach turns. [00:41:56] Speaker D: You just kind of look up. [00:41:59] Speaker B: You don't know what makes you do it. [00:42:02] Speaker D: You couldn't explain it, but you just. [00:42:04] Speaker B: That feeling, that presence. [00:42:09] Speaker D: You just look up at the stars, all those beautiful stars, [00:42:19] Speaker B: and one of [00:42:20] Speaker D: those brilliant white points in the sky, one of those celestial promises that that black void is more than an ocean of everything you don't know just blinks out. [00:42:38] Speaker E: Oh. [00:42:43] Speaker D: Everyone's still quietly talking, trying to make [00:42:46] Speaker B: sense of all this. You hear vaguely off to the side. And out of your peripheries you can see the gold dragon walk closer. You can see her look up into [00:42:59] Speaker D: the sky too, as if she's watching too. But neither of you can seem to look away. Something has you in this moment. And you watch a second. One snuff. And a third. At first it's a bit hard to tell. I mean, there's so many. [00:43:22] Speaker B: There's no light pollution here. You're looking at all of it. [00:43:24] Speaker D: But then another and another and another. [00:43:32] Speaker C: I Ro doesn't look away, but I think she yells out, she said, how long? How long do we have? [00:43:45] Speaker B: All of you hear Rho shout this and you look up, you see that she's looking up at the sky. And Shista quits looking at her own self. And she looks back up at Rho, the first time seeming to really. Since Greta. The first time seeming to really recognize someone. And Alandra, she. She just says, [00:44:05] Speaker D: no, no time now. And Ro, as you look at that little point with all the stars disappearing, it's broadening. The night sky is swallowing stars more. It's elongating. It's. It's a shape. And then the worst thing happens. Some of the stars come back as the shape flexes and it grows and it flexes upward and your bones lock and your muscles freeze as it grows and. And it flexes up and it flexes down. And as each of these stars are born and die and are born and die in your sight, something inside of you. Something mortal, something clothed in blood and flesh. And time. Locks because you're seeing something no mortal should ever see. Until the shape broadens so much that you can see that far silhouette. A central mass, broad lateral sides. Tears well in your eyes as the shape. Wings. Before in its center, orange, then red. And the color spreads quickly like fire. The shape is starting to shine with light. As it moves up and down, it gets brighter and brighter and brighter. It's not swallowing any more stars. It's achieved a specific size and it's glowing brighter. It's Coming down. It's coming here. [00:47:31] Speaker B: And [00:47:34] Speaker D: you all watch as blood droplets prick up at the edges of Ro's eyes and start to run down the sides of her face. Or at least you would, if any of you could look away from what was above. And finally, you can hear it this far. Sound. Like fire. None of you have concept for what pushing the air molecules in the atmosphere aside so quickly that they catch fire is. [00:48:16] Speaker B: None of you know what it is [00:48:17] Speaker D: to burn up on entry. It's not a star that falls from the sky. It's a shadow. As a black mass falls, you all start to be able to see it. Not just a light emerging. You start to see it falling, not quite at your position, [00:48:43] Speaker B: until suddenly all of you become aware that it's coming much faster. Your hearts race. It pounds in your ears. Your muscles tighten and lock. I need everyone here to give me a charisma. Saving throw. [00:49:10] Speaker E: You need me to make one for Tella? [00:49:12] Speaker B: Yes, [00:49:19] Speaker D: Boss as well. [00:49:31] Speaker E: Greta, got a 23. Hello. Got a 20. Dirty 20. [00:49:45] Speaker C: Row got a 25. And boss got a 15. [00:49:56] Speaker B: Craig, you're muted. [00:50:01] Speaker A: I got a 17. [00:50:09] Speaker B: Sorry, my stomach's turning and the muscles in my back are locking up and my hands are shaking. That was DC20. So extraordinarily, three of you pass, which is pretty incredible. I would like you all to really own the role play play. So whatever your character would do, whatever they're feeling, they do. But Craig and Boz, specifically, your throats tighten your muscles. Lock your muscles squeeze so hard they hurt. [00:50:39] Speaker C: Wait, is Boss still asleep or did he wake up? I guess he woke up. [00:50:42] Speaker B: He. He woke up. [00:50:43] Speaker C: Okay. [00:50:45] Speaker B: Petrified with fear. [00:50:48] Speaker A: Wait, I don't know if this is a clickable, but I do have that feature of or. Or of courage. [00:51:00] Speaker B: I will say, in this circumstance, you can make the saving throw again at advantage. [00:51:06] Speaker C: Okay. [00:51:07] Speaker E: Wow. Wow. [00:51:09] Speaker B: It's a powerful force that compels Craig. [00:51:12] Speaker C: Wait, what about the second number? [00:51:15] Speaker D: Okay. [00:51:17] Speaker C: Oh, it's okay. Sorry. I was looking at the new feet that I gave Boz. Yeah, it's. But it's just you gain a plus one to the saving throw, so it would only make it a 16, wouldn't it? [00:51:30] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:51:32] Speaker C: Okay, so I won't do that. [00:51:34] Speaker B: No, no, you're okay. Sorry, I just got nauseous, but I'm good. Craig, you and Boss are frozen with fear. Things are going to be happening very quickly, and I'm not saying that anyone needs to do anything, but I'm asking any of the three who have the ability, are you trying to do Anything, because you don't have to. Whatever it is, it's not a long form decision. Does anyone have anything they are trying to do in this moment? [00:51:58] Speaker C: I have one more question. [00:51:59] Speaker B: Yes, absolutely. [00:52:02] Speaker C: Are. Have we completed a short or long rest? [00:52:06] Speaker B: You have all completed a row. Has just completed a long rest. [00:52:14] Speaker C: Okay, what about. [00:52:17] Speaker B: Okay, Greta and Craig have completed a [00:52:20] Speaker C: short rest and Tello's also completed a long rest. [00:52:22] Speaker D: Okay. [00:52:23] Speaker B: And Tello has also completed a long rest. [00:52:24] Speaker E: Yes, Elantra. [00:52:29] Speaker B: Yes. [00:52:31] Speaker C: I'm Rose, going to drop the Lehman's tiny hut so that anyone in there can hear her. [00:52:43] Speaker D: Yes. [00:52:44] Speaker C: And she's gonna yell out, Alondra, can you. Can you get some people out of here? [00:52:51] Speaker B: I can get eight Rose, you look over. Alondra is just. [00:52:55] Speaker C: Can you get F Moon Kai. [00:52:58] Speaker B: Alandra looks down at you and blood is streaming from the sides of her eyes along with tears. And she just says, hey, come. The star falls until the horrible shape descending from the sky reaches a point about a thousand feet above Black Fang. And then as it bottoms out, this horrible form force. This wave of energy rocks the landscape. And you all hear a sonic snap as the speed at which Zorgrim changes his direction breaks the sound barrier and he moves across the landscape. And you watch in the distance, a mile and a half in the distance, a shape, a shadow. You can't make out the details, but [00:54:02] Speaker D: the fact that you can see it. [00:54:05] Speaker B: Nothing should be that big as the horrible shape. What is that thing so far away? It is this massive black mass and there's fire burning off of it. But not from the front anymore, though the front still glows at a great distance. The wings. The wings burn like the mouth of a volcano. Immense, impossible heat shining, ripping the piece of the night sky apart. [00:54:47] Speaker A: Being. [00:54:48] Speaker B: And the fire, for a second, you [00:54:50] Speaker D: think is just coming from his wings because as he plummets from the sky, you know in this moment, hate has fallen. [00:55:03] Speaker B: The hate fall is again. [00:55:06] Speaker D: The hate falls now. [00:55:07] Speaker B: And as he breaks that barrier, as he falls, he reaches flight. [00:55:13] Speaker D: That fire was coming from his wings spreads. [00:55:18] Speaker B: It snaps through the sky above Black Fang. I And you all watch in an instant, in a moment, as that ring of fire races across the sky. He's flying away somewhere, but that ring of fire is burning, oh, across the sky incredibly quickly, racing. And in its center, black smoke is being replaced. The ring is hollow in its center, but it's expanding so fast, so quickly, so fast. It's racing towards you all. It's not dropping in elevation, it's in [00:56:02] Speaker D: the air far up There in the [00:56:04] Speaker B: atmosphere, the sky is on fire. [00:56:11] Speaker C: I. I grab the fun guys. Thespis. [00:56:18] Speaker B: Boz is standing. [00:56:19] Speaker C: Yeah. I grab all of them like I [00:56:21] Speaker B: boss is standing okay, easily, but he can't. 40ft away from Craig, both are standing stone still. Boz weighs about 170 pounds. Craig almost 150 with his full plate, another 170. Tello is like staggering around confused. Fmund lays sprawled dead. Thespis is stirring, blinking slowly but not seeming to be able to wake. [00:56:50] Speaker C: I say, is Tello. Is Tello frozen in fear or not? Did he pass or fail? [00:56:56] Speaker B: He's. No, no, he's. [00:56:57] Speaker C: Oh, okay. [00:56:58] Speaker B: He's moving. But he like looks to Greta with a stunned expression hanging in his hand. [00:57:05] Speaker C: I yell at Tello and, and Greta and Alondra to get Craig and Boz, okay? And I saw that play. And I start, I say, alondra Shister. And I try to get them to move towards me. And where Thespis is, I said, drag Ethmun Kai. [00:57:28] Speaker B: Shista falls to her knees, tears streaming down her face. Alandra is where she is on the ground, shaking. She pulls her knees up to her chest. Paolo nods and says, I hear you. And he runs over and grabs Aphemoon and starts trying to drag him toward you, but it's a hell heavy weight. The dragon takes a step and she [00:57:50] Speaker C: just [00:57:53] Speaker B: both with fear and courage and [00:57:55] Speaker C: then [00:57:59] Speaker B: takes off in the sky toward the shape. [00:58:02] Speaker C: Oh, gosh. Okay, [00:58:06] Speaker E: bro. [00:58:06] Speaker D: What? [00:58:08] Speaker C: Okay. [00:58:09] Speaker B: It is at about this time. Time that the ring of fire in the sky. Yes. Greta, were you doing something during that time? Abby, go ahead. Oh, okay. You're just panicked. Okay. Your mic's. [00:58:20] Speaker C: Your mic's not working. Your mic's not working. [00:58:23] Speaker B: We understand. My. Abby is shaking her hands and gesticulating violently. [00:58:28] Speaker C: Can I. [00:58:30] Speaker E: Thanks. Can you guys. [00:58:32] Speaker B: You're about out of time. Okay, Abby, if you have something you can say. [00:58:35] Speaker E: I've been trying to say things. I've been trying to say things. [00:58:37] Speaker B: Understood. [00:58:39] Speaker C: Didn't have mic. [00:58:40] Speaker E: Who is near me? It's. I'm near Shista. [00:58:43] Speaker B: You're right next to Shista and Craig. [00:58:45] Speaker E: Okay. [00:58:48] Speaker B: Okay. Alandra is like 20ft from you. Ro is in between the two of you. [00:58:52] Speaker E: Where's Tello? [00:58:54] Speaker B: Tello is maybe like 40ft away where everyone else is, but he's like kind of stumbling toward you slowly. He looks. [00:59:00] Speaker A: Okay. [00:59:00] Speaker E: I call tell, I'm going to send the blue. I send the broom over to Tello and he knows to get on it, right. [00:59:09] Speaker B: It goes up to him and he like Kind of loosely starts kind of climbing on it, and it just starts pushing. It gets at his back and starts pushing him toward you. He's stumbling faster. He's on his way. But anything else, it needs to be quick. You have split decisions. [00:59:24] Speaker E: Yeah, I. I send Craig over in Alondra. We [00:59:31] Speaker B: shaking on the ground. [00:59:34] Speaker E: I'm gonna cast. No, I can't do that. [00:59:37] Speaker A: Okay, well, does anyone have command? [00:59:41] Speaker C: Can I. I'm just gonna yell out, can I? [00:59:45] Speaker B: These were the things. These were the things everyone was doing at the same time. Craig, was there anything in this time that you were doing in this panic, in this terror? [00:59:53] Speaker A: Can I do anything? [00:59:55] Speaker B: Sure. Were you doing anything? [00:59:58] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:59:58] Speaker B: You have a moment. What were you doing in that moment? [01:00:02] Speaker C: I. [01:00:04] Speaker A: Can I. Can I use a spell? [01:00:07] Speaker B: Sure, if you have the slot. [01:00:10] Speaker A: Yes, I do. Yes, I do. I want to use command. [01:00:18] Speaker D: Okay. [01:00:23] Speaker A: Who. Who is the one who seems to be the most out of it? Not moving, not functioning. [01:00:29] Speaker B: Alandra is conscious and catatonic. [01:00:33] Speaker A: Okay. I'm gonna say [01:00:37] Speaker B: also Thespis is still, like, stirring and waking up. [01:00:41] Speaker A: I'm gonna say approach. [01:00:46] Speaker E: We need it Alondra to teleport the other ones out of here. [01:00:49] Speaker B: Sure. [01:00:50] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:00:52] Speaker B: You can to speak grimly, Jackie. A dead body is like an object, so it can't be teleported. You're casting command on Alandra? [01:01:02] Speaker A: Yes. [01:01:03] Speaker B: Okay, yes. She's going to make the saving throw at disadvantage. What's your special spell? [01:01:12] Speaker D: Safe [01:01:15] Speaker A: spell slave is. [01:01:19] Speaker B: And it's a wisdom saving throw. [01:01:21] Speaker C: Oh, I think so. [01:01:22] Speaker A: One question at a time. A 17, and then [01:01:29] Speaker D: that's. [01:01:31] Speaker C: Dang, Craig, let's go crazy. [01:01:34] Speaker B: She got a. She got a. No, it was wisdom. She got a six team. Oh, let's go, Greg. Just like, her head, like, snaps to you, and she, like, stumbles to her feet. She doesn't appear to be, like, recognizing or comprehending, but your magic just compels her. And she is crawling like a child on all fours, tears streaming down her face, blood still pooled at the edge of her eyes. She's just crawling toward you, terrified, and. She's making her way toward you. She's maybe in this time, getting 10ft from you at this time, as everyone has done what they can do in this split moment, the thundering sound of the fire flashes across the sky over you. Moving at a thousand miles an hour, the fire is a deep, deep red. It's thousands of feet above you in the sky. But as it rockets by, the ground shakes, and all of you burn. [01:02:46] Speaker D: You burn inside. Something on you, something in you. [01:02:54] Speaker B: Sets on fire. As Zorgrim tears through the veil and ignites it. All of you. The magic in your blood, in your soul, in your heart and mind. The magic in you sets on fire. Every spellcaster needs to make me a saving throw with their spell casting ability. [01:03:29] Speaker E: Does this count? Does Tello count? [01:03:33] Speaker B: Tello is not a spellcaster. [01:03:35] Speaker C: I have to do Boss. Boz is Wisdom, right? [01:03:39] Speaker B: Yes, as a paladin you are. [01:03:43] Speaker E: Damn. I have a. I have a question. So the fire happened, and then the ring is expanding like that. [01:03:51] Speaker B: So he fell through the atmosphere, and at the point that he broke that sound barrier, there was this ring of fire that went and started burning outward after him. And the. The center, I mean, it's like a half mile ring of fire, but the center as it expands away is hollow. So the sky, I mean, smoky image of the sky is returning, but the ring of fire is exposed, expanding ever outward. And it's just going on and on and on and on. [01:04:14] Speaker E: Okay, Zach, how does this saving throw with our wisdom modifier. Is it a wisdom. [01:04:20] Speaker B: Your spell casting ability? So as a wisdom caster for you would be. It would be wisdom. For Craig, it would be charisma. For Row would be charisma for Boss, it would be wisdom. [01:04:28] Speaker E: Is this a saving throw or just a check with that modifier? [01:04:31] Speaker B: This is a saving throw. [01:04:32] Speaker C: Row got a 20. [01:04:35] Speaker E: Oh, no. [01:04:36] Speaker C: Ro got a 20. 26. Boz got a 27, [01:04:44] Speaker E: But I got a 14. [01:04:47] Speaker A: Okay, Greg, well, I'm. I'm doing. You've gotta let me look at my. [01:04:55] Speaker B: Sure. I am so sorry to. To drop this bomb on you, Jackie. I'm sorry. Having just recovered from death, Boss is going to make this roll at disadvantage. So I actually. I'm sorry. I need you to repeat it again. [01:05:08] Speaker C: I'm sorry, but it was a good one. [01:05:10] Speaker B: I should have told you. Okay, so we rolled a 16. So charisma for you, Craig. [01:05:16] Speaker D: Charisma. [01:05:18] Speaker B: I'm sorry. [01:05:18] Speaker C: Okay, that's gonna be a 13 for boss, actually. [01:05:27] Speaker B: Sorry, I had to check my notes there. [01:05:28] Speaker C: That's okay. [01:05:31] Speaker A: Craig, the Dirty 20. Can I pass along my inspiration to Jackie? [01:05:39] Speaker D: No. [01:05:41] Speaker B: Jackie, do you have an inspiration? [01:05:43] Speaker C: No, and I don't think Boz does. So I. I mean, I'm. Ro got a 27. In this moment, Boz got a. [01:05:51] Speaker B: Sorry, I need to make some saving throws. Give me a moment. [01:05:54] Speaker C: Boz got the 13. Row got the 26. [01:05:58] Speaker B: I just rolled for Alandra. I am rolling now for Thespis. [01:06:04] Speaker C: I forgot his magic gaster. [01:06:07] Speaker B: I am rolling now for Paulo. I Roll now. Sorry, I need to look at my list. I roll now for Guj Dash. [01:06:28] Speaker C: Is that the Dragonborn? [01:06:30] Speaker B: Yep. I roll now for Atal, the dragon who is a spellcaster. [01:06:36] Speaker C: Oh yeah. Can we know who failed or passed or. No. [01:06:44] Speaker B: It will become apparent. [01:06:46] Speaker C: Okay. [01:06:49] Speaker B: All of you [01:06:52] Speaker D: have known great pain in your lives. [01:06:56] Speaker B: All of you have endured mythic suffering. At this point in your existence and in this moment. It's not about superiority, it's not about scale. But every part of you that can feel pain. Not your nerves, but the things they respond to, the things inside that make up your mind and heart. They burn as the connection you have to the beyond in every way is ignited. All of you shudder and shake. Your muscles seize. You fall forward. Blood wells in your eyes. Many people throw blood up from their mouths as it pours out of their nose. Some of you are cut by stones as you fall to the ground. And as the fire rips across the sky, as the hate falls. [01:08:04] Speaker E: Oh [01:08:07] Speaker B: Greta. Excuse me, Ro. You blink hard, coughing up blood. You blink panicked. Blood all over your mouth, all over your face, wet and hot. This is. Moments later, you struggle to your knees. You have a point of exhaustion, but you are alive. [01:08:38] Speaker E: Oh no. [01:08:40] Speaker B: Boz. Also no boss. Craig. You blink as well, Your nervous system on fire. You shudder as the magic in you equalizes, as the deep magic flows and soothes your soul. You look around. You watch out of the periphery as your vision as a gold shape falls. [01:09:13] Speaker E: Oh. Oh no. [01:09:18] Speaker B: Plumbing to the landscape far away. So too you hear. Well, actually you don't hear anything else. You look around. Thespis rolls over. He spits up blood. He looks around with panicked eyes, shaking, sweat beading on his forehead, blood all over his face, and he looks up, confused, having experienced none of the last 12 hours. He pushes himself up to all fours, shuddering, and looks at you with confusion. Gajras is motionless on her side. The halfling woman looks panicked, staring at all of the bleeding people, confused. Tello. We'll get to Tello in a moment. Paolo is sputtering on all fours, coughing up blood, but he struggles to his knees and he's like shaking with his hands on his mace, just trying to steady himself, trying to remain conscious, blinking hard as blood pours from his eyes. Alondra looks at you and falls backward. Nearby, Boz is collapsed on the ground, motionless, blood pouring from his face. You all watch as Tello looks to Greta. No. He clips his crossbow to his side and he bolts. He scoops her up. [01:11:02] Speaker D: Wake up. [01:11:06] Speaker B: He rushes over to you, Ro. Who's just recovering. He shoves Greta in your arms. He puts each of his very large hands relative to your head on the side of your face and squeezes you. And he says, fix her. Fixer. [01:11:22] Speaker C: Is she. She out cold DM like or what's. [01:11:26] Speaker B: As you look down at her, Greta [01:11:29] Speaker D: is motionless in her arms. [01:11:32] Speaker B: Her head hangs limply at a side. There is no rise and fall in her chest. Her skin has gone completely flush. You've seen enough dead bodies at this point in your life to know. Tello squeezes the sides of your face and then he almost pushes you over with how quickly he pushes off. He bolts over to Alandra. He begins shooting, shaking her pouch. He shoves his hand in and pulls out the diamond. He runs back over to you and shoves it in your. In your hand. And he says, fix her. Fix her. Fix her. Ro. [01:12:04] Speaker D: Fix her. [01:12:05] Speaker C: Dm. Do. Do I know. Do I cast revivify or resurrection with this? Would I know you are aware. Okay. [01:12:12] Speaker B: That you are within the time frame. [01:12:14] Speaker C: I'm going to cast revivify on Greta right now. [01:12:16] Speaker A: Run up with a boss. [01:12:18] Speaker C: Yeah. And then Rose making choices. [01:12:21] Speaker E: Yeah. [01:12:21] Speaker C: I'm gonna. Greta's in my hands. I'm gonna cast revivify on her. And it's just one action. So that's six seconds. Right? [01:12:30] Speaker B: Describe to me what this revivify looks like. [01:12:35] Speaker C: I'm just gonna fall to my knees with Greta's weight and I'm going to. With one hand holding her head and one hand strumming. I'm just going to like. It doesn't even make any sense. It's just like old. It's. It's like old song coming out of my. My, my voice. And as like Gold light wraps around Greta [01:13:07] Speaker B: Ro, I need you to make an ability check with your charisma modifier. All of you have your per diem still. [01:13:20] Speaker C: What's the. So just a straight charisma. [01:13:23] Speaker B: Straight roll with your charisma. [01:13:25] Speaker D: Check. [01:13:32] Speaker C: Do I. Do I know what I need to beat or do I. Am I allowed to know before? [01:13:38] Speaker B: Greta has now died three times. [01:13:43] Speaker C: So it has to be. [01:13:44] Speaker B: This means that her DC is 20 [01:13:47] Speaker C: and I'm using my per diem. Okay. Cuz I got a 19, so that's going to be a 20. 21. 22. 20. [01:14:11] Speaker B: As the magic flows over Greta. Greta, your chest pounds and you are awake. [01:14:22] Speaker C: I. [01:14:23] Speaker B: Your DC has now increased to 25 for the rest of the campaign. [01:14:28] Speaker C: I say. I say Greta, I'm so, so sorry. I know you're just back, but go Fix Alandra. And I run to Boz. [01:14:40] Speaker B: Okay, Greta, you are shaking. You have two points of exhaustion. [01:14:48] Speaker E: Wait, before Rogue goes, I say I need the long rest. [01:14:53] Speaker B: Greta, I need you to give me a constitution. Check to speak. [01:14:59] Speaker A: Oh, okay, that's true. [01:15:02] Speaker B: So soon after death. [01:15:04] Speaker E: Yeah. [01:15:06] Speaker C: Can I make a. [01:15:07] Speaker E: Just a constitution? That's a 13. [01:15:12] Speaker B: Greta. You attempt to choke out words, but you're just feeble. [01:15:17] Speaker E: Okay, I just. I just claw at rose pouch. Can I know she keeps it. [01:15:24] Speaker B: Jackie, it's all choices. It's all choices. This is all choices. [01:15:29] Speaker C: Immediately, it clicks in my head, and I take the long rest in the bottle and not even like, handing it to her. I just pour it down her throat like I do it. [01:15:41] Speaker D: Oh, okay. [01:15:44] Speaker B: Yeah. Ro pulls out her bottle, opens it up, and Greta, you. And a surge of energy rushes through you. It's not. [01:15:59] Speaker D: It. [01:16:00] Speaker B: It's. It's like. It's like when you're. You're chewing gum, like minty gum, and then you breathe winter air, but a thousand times worse. It's so cold you, like, convulse momentarily and it hurts to breathe. You are not returning returned to this sense of, like, I'm peacefully. Okay. It's like being injected with. With adrenaline as you are shocked awake. [01:16:20] Speaker E: Yeah. It feels. [01:16:21] Speaker B: You have achieved a full long rest. Okay. [01:16:24] Speaker E: Can I try and speak again? [01:16:26] Speaker B: You can. And interrupting that I'm running through the stone is Thespis, who is bolting toward Boz. [01:16:36] Speaker E: Okay. [01:16:37] Speaker B: He tackles this. The ground next to him, like barely able to stand. And he reaches into his own pouch, pulling out a diamond he had saved, as he is just a high enough level paladin to be able to cast revivify. And he did not get to ehmundenkind time to revive him. So he puts a hand on Baz's chest. And he squeezes the diamond. And he begins muttering a prayer. He is going to make a check. [01:17:12] Speaker C: Can I assist with it? I can't remember if we've allowed assistance with this. [01:17:17] Speaker B: Give me. Give me a dexterity check to get there in time. [01:17:20] Speaker C: Okay. [01:17:22] Speaker E: While that's happening, I'm running to a laundry. [01:17:24] Speaker C: Just straight decks. Check. A16. [01:17:29] Speaker B: Okay. [01:17:31] Speaker A: Sorry. [01:17:37] Speaker D: Oh, my goodness. [01:17:40] Speaker B: Okay. I'm sorry. My whole body is shaking. I have a headache. You get there in time. Describe to me what it is you're doing to provide Thespis with advance. [01:17:56] Speaker C: The moment I get there, I just slide down onto my knees and I put my hand over Thespis and just start muttering the saloon prayers with him. And I get out my saloon Symbol and start muttering with him as he's doing it. [01:18:24] Speaker B: Sorry. I'm gonna pull up his character sheet real quick. [01:18:26] Speaker C: Do you need me to Thespis or Boss? [01:18:29] Speaker D: Theus [01:18:31] Speaker B: should have had that already, but. [01:18:39] Speaker C: So glad I didn't drink. [01:18:40] Speaker B: That's the stone. It pushes it down into Boss's chest, the light shines and the diamond disintegrates with your advantage. You rolled an 18 on the die. And thespis has a plus three. That takes it to 21. And Baz shudders to life, coughing up blood and convulsing. Retta, you are racing to Alondra. [01:19:14] Speaker E: I do. And I. And I have taken one of the can. Ro. Did she give me one of the diamonds? [01:19:23] Speaker B: I wanna. I need to check in on something really quickly. Alandras has been used and Thespis has been used. [01:19:29] Speaker C: Wait, Elandress has been you. I used one that I had. I didn't use that thousand one. The thousand gold piece. [01:19:41] Speaker B: Okay, okay. Tello rushed to her bag to get [01:19:43] Speaker E: that one, but he didn't. [01:19:46] Speaker B: You're saying you used your own? [01:19:47] Speaker C: I used my own because I had two. [01:19:49] Speaker B: Okay, then you also. You have the other one now. And he's now the thousand in your hand. So there are two more row you're. You're tossing. [01:20:00] Speaker C: Also had one on him. But it. That doesn't matter Matter. But yeah, I tossed one to Greta. Okay, so I have zero now. [01:20:07] Speaker E: Okay. [01:20:10] Speaker C: Or I take the one from Boss. I'm gonna just say that I pocket it. [01:20:13] Speaker A: Sure, sure. [01:20:14] Speaker C: So that it's easier. [01:20:19] Speaker E: I run over to Alondra and I, I cast. I, I cast. I like, I prop her head up. Is Tella with me? [01:20:28] Speaker D: Me? [01:20:31] Speaker B: Sure. [01:20:32] Speaker A: Okay, I have with you too. [01:20:34] Speaker E: Okay. I have one of. I have one of you guys prop up her head and I, I, I like bring out my, my saloon symbol and, and my, not my saloon symbol, my Ioun symbol and my symbol of the maker. And I just press it like, I press like both against her chest in the palm of my hands and I put the diamond in her mouth [01:20:56] Speaker D: and [01:20:56] Speaker E: I, I like just. I press my hands against her chest with the iron symbol and the maker symbol. [01:21:03] Speaker D: Just like that Craig has cast. Oh, did I let guidance work on this check in the past? [01:21:18] Speaker E: I do have my [01:21:21] Speaker B: Craig, if you want. I, I don't know the guidance can work on this, but if you'd like to. Craig, I'm going to say that you can try and do something to offer Greta advantage if you can try and participate magically, which is honestly better. But cuz that is something that I do allow. So you can try and offer advantage. [01:21:40] Speaker A: Can I bless her? [01:21:43] Speaker B: Yes. As you cast you can expend the spell slot is you cast bless on her and the magic radiates across you have advantage. Build forward by those divine magics. Greta. Yeah, yeah. [01:21:57] Speaker D: You know you're doing. [01:21:58] Speaker B: So roll. Roll your two die first. Then add modifiers and then choose per diem or not. [01:22:06] Speaker E: Okay. This is a wisdom modifier. [01:22:16] Speaker B: Yes. [01:22:16] Speaker E: Okay. Not a saving throw. A modifier. [01:22:20] Speaker B: Yeah. Just. Just to check with your ability, [01:22:34] Speaker E: I'm gonna use my per. I got a 17. [01:22:52] Speaker B: As your magics pour over her pushed out of your body that is still attempting to recover from death as you try to undo one of the person who first told you of all of this. The voice of the Manabus Arcanum is dead in your arms. [01:23:18] Speaker E: Can I. I'm going to use my. [01:23:19] Speaker B: After 500 years of living, she has died numerous deaths. [01:23:24] Speaker E: I'm going to try and use my channel divinity again. [01:23:29] Speaker B: Your. Your divine intervention. [01:23:30] Speaker E: Yeah. Sir. [01:23:31] Speaker B: Yes, go ahead. [01:23:34] Speaker E: I. I feel that it doesn't work and I feel that it doesn't connect. And I'm just gonna like. I'm gonna like scream out for Ro. Just like. Just at the top of my lungs. She's just gonna scream for Ro. [01:23:48] Speaker C: I run over there. I leave paws with Thespis. [01:23:52] Speaker E: She just like her. Like her head just falls and she's just sobbing and the mad just pours out of her and she screams for Ro and she screams for. She screams for help. And she like. Like in the way that in the past she used to cast kind of without realizing it this time, it's like it's. She's just so desperate for help that she's just screaming out for anyone that could help. [01:24:19] Speaker C: I could res. I could resurrect, but it would take. It would take an hour. And I don't know if we should stay here. It'll kill all of us. [01:24:27] Speaker E: He's gonna like beg. She's like, yeah, she's like. And begging and begging for. I bring her back the 34. [01:24:47] Speaker B: You feel like it's like it's the bloodied one himself who chokes that prayer to silence. And Alandra, the pale objurer is dead where you all are. Thespis chokes on his words as he says [01:25:12] Speaker D: rock. [01:25:17] Speaker C: I can't. [01:25:18] Speaker D: He can. He can heal others. [01:25:22] Speaker B: He chokes up in the blood. [01:25:23] Speaker C: We have to. We have to get out of here. If we can bring Alondra and. And F. Moon with us, we could eventually resurrect them. Come Thespis over here. And she tries. Yeah. And I, I, I motion for Boz to do the same. [01:25:43] Speaker B: He's crawling towards you, having died twice in the in the last day. Also, boss has three points of exhaustion. [01:25:50] Speaker E: He died twice. [01:25:53] Speaker B: He died yesterday. [01:25:58] Speaker C: I grab on is just a down. Is she down or is she awake? [01:26:06] Speaker B: Who else is awake is alive and she is just trembling in a ball. [01:26:17] Speaker C: Do Do Alandra and F. Moon Kai count as people [01:26:25] Speaker B: for teleport? They count as objects, but they are objects with mass and size. What I will say is, if you're trying to do mass path. [01:26:34] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:26:35] Speaker B: One of them can just get lumped in and the other one's gonna require a check. [01:26:40] Speaker C: Okay, so if I do, who else is awake besides the fun guys in Thespis? [01:26:57] Speaker B: Sorry. [01:26:59] Speaker D: Okay. [01:27:01] Speaker B: Coelio B. Is awake. [01:27:04] Speaker D: Okay. Who else? [01:27:08] Speaker B: Oh my goodness. Oh, and then the halfling woman who's just standing stone, still just staring. [01:27:17] Speaker C: Okay, I can get them and. [01:27:25] Speaker E: Okay. [01:27:26] Speaker C: Okay. Boz, Tello, Craig, Greta, Thespis, Paulo, Halfling woman. That's seven plus row me and eight people. So I can lump Alandra in there, let's say, and then I can do the check. [01:27:43] Speaker B: You're not counted in the number of people for the teleport. [01:27:46] Speaker C: I can do eight people and myself. Okay, so I can get everyone one. And you said I could lump one of the Alondra at Moon Kai in [01:27:56] Speaker B: there, so I the last person would have to be a check. [01:28:00] Speaker C: Okay, then let's, let's do it. I see you all start dragging together. Get together. [01:28:13] Speaker B: Bodies are rug and I this through the stone. Thespis looks over at Thespis looks over at Gazrash and just stares for a moment and then goes back to dragging Ethmund. [01:28:34] Speaker E: Charisma casters. Correct? [01:28:37] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:28:38] Speaker E: Okay, I'm gonna cast enhance ability on Roe and is her Eagle Splendor. So you have advantage on code switches. [01:28:48] Speaker A: Cool. [01:28:50] Speaker C: Okay, so I want to teleport us. I want to teleport us to. I don't know if this is a bad idea or a good idea, but I want to teleport us to right outside of Parsage. Because that way we can launch Pagooba, we can warn the town, and we have a base to heal people, and it's very familiar. So there's less chance I'll send us somewhere where we all get hurt. So I think of Parage as I start. I gather everyone close enough and start trying to cast as the group is [01:29:28] Speaker B: pulled together and Ro Begins furiously playing. All of you, choke on the blood in your throats. As you stand in a reality that should have never come to pass. As you all stand in the failure of every effort of the manabus. As you all stand in the hateful. Ro. You may roll your check. [01:29:52] Speaker C: Okay. It has to be between 25 and 100 because it's very familiar. Right? [01:29:57] Speaker B: You're making an ability check first. [01:29:59] Speaker C: Oh, that's right. I'm so sorry. So. [01:30:01] Speaker B: No, it's okay. [01:30:02] Speaker C: Ability, ability, check of charisma. [01:30:06] Speaker E: Charisma advantage. [01:30:08] Speaker C: But because I have the one point of exhaustion. Is it just right? [01:30:11] Speaker B: It is a straight roll. [01:30:13] Speaker D: Good. [01:30:14] Speaker B: No, important. Greta. If you hadn't given her that, it'd be a disadvantage. [01:30:18] Speaker C: Okay, so strike. That's a dirty 20. [01:30:31] Speaker B: The energy rushes outward from you and sucks everyone away from the land of Death. [01:30:50] Speaker C: I already. [01:30:51] Speaker B: Yes. On your teleport roll. No, that's important. No, no, no, no, no, no. That is what I need you to do next. Without question. Thank you. You all feel the rush of thermal energy and then are thrown outward to [01:31:04] Speaker D: snow [01:31:07] Speaker B: as you all land in Parsage, the northern part of the earthen bloom. In the middle of winter, there's now, like. [01:31:21] Speaker D: Oh, shoot, [01:31:24] Speaker B: like almost a foot of snow on the ground. You all are thrown into it, thrown into intense cold all around Ro, as you pop up and look around at your surroundings. There are nine bodies. Both Ehmund and Alandra were brought with you, though lifeless. [01:31:46] Speaker C: Can I say that? I. I look at Greta and Craig and I say, tell everyone. Get Shpagoober. I'm gonna get F Moon Kai so that we can get Alandra. And immediately. [01:32:03] Speaker B: You are physically incapable of dragging F Moon Kai. For whatever that's worth. [01:32:07] Speaker C: I'm not gonna drago. [01:32:08] Speaker B: Oh. [01:32:09] Speaker C: I'm gonna sit in the snow and start casting resurrection because it takes an hour and try to start resurrecting F Moon Kai. [01:32:16] Speaker B: No, that's gotcha. [01:32:18] Speaker C: I tell them, go tell everyone. I sit in the snow. I say, despis, if you can offer any help, stay here. [01:32:27] Speaker B: He leans forward on his knees and puts his hand over you, over yours, and begins praying as well. [01:32:33] Speaker C: And I just start casting resurrection on. On him. [01:32:36] Speaker E: I'm gonna cast at the eighth level [01:32:38] Speaker C: because I left my seventh level. I got rid of my seventh. [01:32:41] Speaker B: Sure, sure, sure. [01:32:42] Speaker E: I'm gonna cast. Resort greater restoration on row. [01:32:48] Speaker B: Oh, oh, all right, [01:32:53] Speaker E: hold on, hold on. Let me make sure I have the components. [01:33:07] Speaker A: Oh, my gosh, I'm not gonna sleep tonight. [01:33:09] Speaker E: I am, I am. [01:33:11] Speaker B: I'm sorry. [01:33:12] Speaker E: I'm gonna do that. Yes. So I. I'm just marked it off of my inventory. I had cast greater restoration on rogue. So you do. You are not exhausted. [01:33:25] Speaker C: Holy crap, Greta. [01:33:26] Speaker E: Were you only exhausted by one? [01:33:28] Speaker C: Yeah. That's incredible. [01:33:33] Speaker E: And so you. Now you do have advantage on your. [01:33:37] Speaker C: Okay. [01:33:38] Speaker E: Rolls on your charisma checks. [01:33:41] Speaker C: I just. I just. When Greta does it, I just grab her hand and then I go back to. [01:33:49] Speaker E: To. [01:33:50] Speaker C: To Ephemen Kai and I. I'm muttering in oldsong and in between that, I'm going, I've never done this before. This is the first time I've ever done this. [01:34:03] Speaker B: Thespis just squeezes your hand and whispers. [01:34:10] Speaker D: Raw light for the people lost in the traveling darkness. [01:34:16] Speaker B: And he's just. He begins very softly doing the seven stars over your face as you're praying and just praying himself [01:34:26] Speaker C: is there. How does resurrection work in our campaign? Is it like revivify where there's a check? [01:34:34] Speaker B: Same thing. [01:34:35] Speaker C: Okay. [01:34:35] Speaker B: Same thing. Still contesting with death. [01:34:38] Speaker C: Okay. And it takes. Resurrection takes an hour. So I guess I'm just. She's just adding. Focused in the snow. Even though it's snow. She's, like, sweating. [01:34:47] Speaker B: What is anyone else. [01:34:49] Speaker A: I'm going telling everybody. [01:34:51] Speaker E: Yeah, we're going to get Shuba. [01:34:53] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:34:53] Speaker B: Craig and Greta. [01:34:54] Speaker A: Greta went to get Sh. Goober and everyone. I'm. I'm going to the. I'm going to everyone else. [01:35:00] Speaker B: Okay. Understood. Greta, you. [01:35:05] Speaker E: I'm on my broom. [01:35:07] Speaker B: Okay. You. And then throw open the door and you rush into the home. [01:35:15] Speaker E: Yeah. [01:35:15] Speaker B: And Nam is. Shpagoober is. He's at the kitchen table. He has his spellbook in front of him, and there are little papers and notes scribbled all around. And he's deep in study, working on his spellcraft as he has been ever since you all left. [01:35:37] Speaker C: It's still the middle of the night, right? Or is it like on the hemisphere you were on? Yeah. [01:35:45] Speaker B: So actually it's like well into morning here. [01:35:48] Speaker D: Okay. [01:35:49] Speaker B: Because you guys were on the other side of the world. You were on the opposite point of the world, actually, both in hemisphere and axis and almost perfectly. And [01:36:00] Speaker E: it's really poignant. [01:36:02] Speaker B: Mm. So Spra Gooper's actually, it's like just before lunch, and he's where he is at the table. He's got his hand pushed into his hair on his forehead as if he's rubbing away a headache. And Nam has walked up, and she's put down. She had something in her hand, like a plate with, like, some powder on it. And she's put it down onto the table, and she's walked up, and she just has, like, a hand. Hand up on his thigh, like, checking on him where he is in the chair, because both of them are so short that when he sits up on the big adult chairs, she can, like, only reach up that high. And it's at this point that the door swings open, and Nam turns around and unsheaths a little knife in her pocket, blade down. And Spaghubra, like, lifts up his head and looks, and he goes, greta. [01:36:50] Speaker E: Greta looks like death. Like, she looks. Looks just absolutely awful. [01:36:55] Speaker B: Nam takes you in in an instant, and then, like, flips the knife up in her hand, moves kind of like a little to the side, but watches the doorway as if watching something, but for something behind you. [01:37:08] Speaker E: He help. I need your help. [01:37:14] Speaker B: Looks up and goes, of course. What is it? And he, like, pushes out his chair [01:37:18] Speaker E: down, turns around again. Dm I'm. I'm Ro or Greta in her. Did Ro ask her to do something specific? [01:37:28] Speaker B: Nope. [01:37:29] Speaker E: Okay. I turn and I say, do you have. Do you have any diamonds? [01:37:35] Speaker D: No, I'm okay. [01:37:37] Speaker B: Why would you. And he looks past you and sees in the snow where Ro is bent over a tremendously large man with thespa at her side. He can see Boz stumbling toward the doorway, looking like death warmed over. And Tello's, like, supporting him along the way. And Spookover goes, what happened? [01:37:56] Speaker D: Are you all okay? [01:37:57] Speaker E: Greta kind of takes a moment. She's like, oh, like, what do I do? Like, spoogaberg. Like, ugh. And she finally, like, looks over to the stove, and she says, like, help me. Help me move this. [01:38:10] Speaker B: Okay. [01:38:11] Speaker E: Of course. [01:38:13] Speaker B: Nam looks at you, and she goes, greta, are we safe? Do I need to get my crossbow? [01:38:18] Speaker E: Greta just nods and okay. [01:38:20] Speaker B: She doesn't take another word. She receives the knife and then runs to the room. Greta, you and Spaghuber walk over to the stove and begin pushing. I need both of you to give me an athletics check. Or one of you can do it at advantage. It's a very big, heavy stove, especially at your size. [01:38:39] Speaker E: Can I. Me or spagoober? [01:38:42] Speaker B: Yep. [01:38:43] Speaker D: One of the two of you. [01:38:45] Speaker E: Do you want me to roll for spaghetti? [01:38:47] Speaker B: You've never known him to be strong. Would you like him to give you advantage? [01:38:51] Speaker E: Yeah, sure. [01:38:53] Speaker B: He might have a negative modifier. He might have a more zone. [01:38:57] Speaker C: He's like me. [01:39:00] Speaker B: You're smart up here. And in here with a 17. You just barely. [01:39:09] Speaker C: Wow. [01:39:09] Speaker B: And the two of you, high on adrenaline, start. [01:39:13] Speaker E: Yeah. [01:39:17] Speaker B: Pushing it. And Slowly but surely, the stove is pushed off of that trapdoor beneath it. [01:39:22] Speaker E: Greta just, like, collapses onto her knees and she takes Spaghuber's hand and she looks at him and she goes, it's happening. [01:39:33] Speaker B: What's happening, Greta? [01:39:34] Speaker D: What are you talking about? [01:39:36] Speaker E: The veil. The veil is torn. [01:39:40] Speaker D: What? [01:39:41] Speaker E: He's coming. We need to be ready. [01:39:43] Speaker B: Nam runs back into the room with her loaded crossbow and just points at the door. She's not speaking. [01:39:48] Speaker D: And Shipper goes, what do you mean he's coming? [01:39:54] Speaker E: The veil is torn. Damn. Did we take Shista with us? [01:39:59] Speaker B: Yeah, she's just out there. She's actually also stumbling toward the door. Shipa Gooper just reached down and takes your hand around his and goes, oh, Griffin. He just squeezes it and says, [01:40:17] Speaker D: I'm so sorry. [01:40:20] Speaker E: Yeah. [01:40:21] Speaker B: And it's at about this time that Tello stumbles to the door with Boz, and Shista is shivering through the snow, all but naked save for a cloak, stumbling toward the home. Nam, like, reaches up her crossbow and points at Shista, not recognizing. And before you can even say anything, Tello just looks at her and goes, not that one. And she just lowers it back down and continues to watch the door and not that one. Tello, like, gets bonds, like, cushion seat by the window and just dumps him down where he, like, out and just this just shuddering inside. And Tello, like, collects her and, like, rushes her to the b. To the bedroom to try and find, like, a blanket Trapper in or some clothes outside in the snow, which is very cold. Row and Thespis are still casting. Craig, you are sprinting into town and you're bloodied, scratched, plate covered in your face, covered in your own blood. And as you start rushing into town, it's the middle of a lazy day in winter. The town is barely stirring, and a couple people see you from some distance out. And there's some faces and just moments of recognition as people flash. Like, the adventurer is back and he's in his armor. And their faces, kind of their countenance falls, looking at you as you're rushing into the main road of town. What are you doing? [01:41:43] Speaker A: Go to the first person I see and I like with the most urgency and, like, dire need. I like, you know, I like kindly and gently, like, put a hand on his shoulder and go. Things are really bad. The hate king is coming. I need you to speak the word. It rations. Hide. It's time to prepare. [01:42:09] Speaker B: Okay? The person looks at you, confused. No concept with any of that means. [01:42:15] Speaker A: But wait, okay, wait, wait, Zach. I'M sorry, maybe I misunderstood. I thought this was a bad. Wait. [01:42:22] Speaker B: What? Okay, sure. Craig, I need you to give me a persuasion check at Advantage. Okay, okay, okay. Hold on, hold on, hold on. I'm gonna do this. Very rarely in all the time we've ever played D and D. I think I've done it one other time in this campaign. I'm actually going to need you to make the persuasion check a double advantage. You're going to roll three times to take the highest because. [01:42:43] Speaker A: What? [01:42:43] Speaker B: You are their living hero. [01:42:45] Speaker C: This is crazy. [01:42:46] Speaker B: You're covered in your own blood, and this town has been suddenly attacked by foes before from whom you rescued. So go ahead and roll A. And I would have you not make the check, except that what you said is gobbledygo up to them. So go ahead and make a triple advantage or double advantage. Persuasion check. [01:43:06] Speaker C: Hey, Zach, what does the sky look like? Does it look normal? [01:43:09] Speaker E: Oh, scary. [01:43:11] Speaker B: Well, Ro, you're deep in a casting. [01:43:13] Speaker C: Okay? What does this guy look like to Thespa? [01:43:16] Speaker B: We'll get to that in a moment. Okay, that one's a 21. [01:43:22] Speaker A: That one's also a 21. And that one is. Is a 25. I'm sorry. No, no. I'm so sorry. 15. That one. [01:43:31] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:43:31] Speaker A: So 21. [01:43:33] Speaker B: 21's our total, Craig. The person just nods and says, of course, Craig. [01:43:41] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:43:41] Speaker B: And he just. Just sprints up. He starts shouting. He starts shouting, run, hide. [01:43:49] Speaker D: The king is coming. [01:43:50] Speaker B: Run and hide. [01:43:54] Speaker D: Okay. [01:43:55] Speaker B: You run to the next person. [01:43:58] Speaker A: So I, like. I knock on the next door. [01:44:01] Speaker B: I'm like. I'm banging on the door, pounding on the door. It's a moment before it opens, and an elderly woman comes and answers and [01:44:07] Speaker D: says, hero, are you all right? Look at your face. [01:44:13] Speaker A: I was hoping that there's some bad stuff coming. [01:44:18] Speaker B: Such a different energy. [01:44:19] Speaker A: Yeah. I'm meeting an old lady. I change up there. There's. There's an enemy on. On their way. [01:44:28] Speaker B: Oh, no. [01:44:28] Speaker A: If you have people, [01:44:33] Speaker B: I've always said, so easy to take [01:44:37] Speaker A: you. We need to have food. If you have food, start collecting blankets. [01:44:42] Speaker B: I have a knife. And she turns and goes away. [01:44:47] Speaker A: All right, I'm gonna go all around you, Craig. [01:44:50] Speaker B: Shouting is breaking out, and people are starting to open doors and, like, walk out of homes and, like, try and look and see. I mean, the town's not at all big, but it is a quarter mile across, maybe a little less. A little less sprawled out. And there's a couple hundred people who live here, so people are, like, walking out and trying To. To understand. [01:45:10] Speaker E: Standing on a bench now. [01:45:11] Speaker A: Standing. She was over on the bench. I was over on the bench. [01:45:15] Speaker B: It's full circle, and I. [01:45:17] Speaker A: And I. I'm standing there, and I'm. I'm yelling out, enemies are coming back again. I need to be quiet. I'm in an apartment, guys. What the heck? I'm so. [01:45:27] Speaker B: I feel you, dude. I feel you before. [01:45:30] Speaker E: Oh, my gosh. [01:45:31] Speaker C: Someone's like, enemies. [01:45:32] Speaker A: Oh, my gosh. [01:45:33] Speaker B: Someone just woke up. Enemies are coming back. They pull out their sword. [01:45:38] Speaker E: That's. [01:45:39] Speaker B: So someone knocks on your door, Micah, where are the enemies? [01:45:45] Speaker A: It was so embarrassing. I, like, come back to reality. [01:45:49] Speaker B: It's not embarrassing. You're a nerd. [01:45:52] Speaker A: And there's enemies coming. [01:45:54] Speaker B: And there's enemies coming. Yeah. [01:45:56] Speaker C: And I. [01:45:56] Speaker A: So I yell out, like, the enemies are coming. Prepare your rations. Prepare your weapons. I'd collect. Come near to your loved ones. Like, prepare. Prepare as a town again. [01:46:09] Speaker B: I'm just gonna give. [01:46:10] Speaker A: You're on their way. [01:46:11] Speaker B: I'm gonna give a general. I'm gonna give a check for one half of the citizens of the town and a check for another half, and we're gonna see how they're interpreting this message. Also. No. I'm gonna make a check for the town that's listening to you, Craig. Then I'm gonna make a check at disadvantage for the portion of the town that is listening to every person who's getting this second hand from another person. So here's a charisma saving throw from the town. They're citizens. They have a plus zero. That's a 10 flat even roll. [01:46:47] Speaker E: That's pretty good. [01:46:48] Speaker B: Here's the roll for the town who's hearing it at its second turn. Okay, we're starting with a five. So the rest of the town got a four, five. So, Craig, you watch as 40, 50 people start, like, poking their heads out and, like, nodding and like, at. People are interpreting this 30 different ways. Absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Some people are arming themselves and looking out windows. Other people are boarding up their windows. It okay, somebody runs out and grabs four chickens and brings them inside. One person, like a dog was, like, out using the restroom, and they go and grab it and pull it inside. Being interpreted many different ways. There are shouts from quite a bit of the rest of the town and a couple screams. Some people begin running out from one house to another and banging on a door. A small crowd starts gathering around you. A small. Another portion of the town is not getting it so clearly and well and not reacting calmly and so, like, people are like. Like there's not a circle forming, but people are starting to walk from further points and shout and go like, Craig, what do you mean? And then someone screams. It's the catkins. They can't save us all. And then someone shouts, the king. The emperor's alive. [01:48:11] Speaker D: I know it. [01:48:12] Speaker B: And there's just, like, fear rising, Greta, from where you are in the home. To be fair, Micah got the hardest task. Don't even know what to do. I wouldn't know what to do with that. Greta's in. You're in the home. You've just moved the stove off of the trapdoor. And you feel what every other caster here feels except for Rose, deep in her trance, terribly focused. You feel a turn in your stomach, and all the hairs stand up on the back of your neck. And Greta, from the edge of the window, you can see is the gray curtain pulled over the sky in this blanket across the atmosphere, begins to spark with light at its edge. And something begins burning the storm away at a distance, moving rapidly toward you all. You witness this? [01:49:20] Speaker E: Okay, yeah, Man. I look. I look towards I, I, yeah. Wow. [01:49:38] Speaker C: They can't. [01:49:42] Speaker E: I grab Tello and I say, help me move Alandra. And I start running out to her. [01:49:47] Speaker B: Okay. Tello darts out in the snow, begins dragging her body in. Some members of the town are, like, making their way from the edge and seeing where you all are kind of rushing to you all for shelter, unsure. But then as they approach, they start to see you over bodies, and they start getting afraid and stopping and backing away, confused. [01:50:07] Speaker A: I'm gonna tell everyone I can to go inside, and then I'm gonna make my way back to the parsonage. [01:50:14] Speaker B: Understood? Craig, you have to push pack. Some people who seem confused and most of the people start getting the message, but there are even fights breaking out between people. Some people are trying to get them back inside. Other people, people are panicking, And you are trudging your way back toward the home. As Craig, you can see at the edge of the sky, the line of fire coming toward you. [01:50:41] Speaker A: They get inside. [01:50:44] Speaker D: Okay. [01:50:49] Speaker B: Alandra is successfully drug inside. Sorry. Managing something else. [01:50:53] Speaker E: Does. [01:50:55] Speaker C: Does Thespis see it or do I notice that they're dragging Alandra inside or I guess not, because I'm casting. [01:51:04] Speaker B: You are focused, and at any point, if you do anything else, the casting is interrupted. [01:51:08] Speaker A: Yeah, if I make it back in time to help, [01:51:12] Speaker C: I just. [01:51:13] Speaker B: The body or with the casting, cracking the body. Okay. Craig, you are aware as a somewhat accomplished caster, at this point in A divine sense that his body cannot be moved while this casting is happening. He needs to move. [01:51:25] Speaker A: No, Alandra, if you move the. [01:51:27] Speaker B: Oh, Alandra, yes, absolutely, Craig. You pick her up by the feet, and suddenly she's pulled in very quickly. You all have her inside rapidly. [01:51:35] Speaker C: I couldn't say anything outside of the cast casting. [01:51:39] Speaker B: Yeah, no, no, you can. You can speak small, short thoughts. [01:51:44] Speaker C: I think if out of my passive perception that I noticed they're dragging her in. I. In between the casting, I'm. I start telling this. That's save. Save yourself. Get inside. Get underground. Get inside. [01:52:01] Speaker B: He grips your hand harder, and he [01:52:03] Speaker D: says, I'm not leaving him and I'm not leaving you. [01:52:06] Speaker B: I go where you go. [01:52:11] Speaker C: She just squeezes his hand and then keeps. Keeps casting. [01:52:16] Speaker E: Yes, Greta, hold on, hold on. [01:52:19] Speaker C: If we. [01:52:22] Speaker E: Am I near theus [01:52:27] Speaker B: or. [01:52:28] Speaker E: Sorry, Am I near. Am I near. Am I near Spaghr? [01:52:40] Speaker B: Yes, you are inside with him. [01:52:41] Speaker E: Okay, I'm gonna. I'm gonna spagoober. I'm gonna say, do you know Layman's tiny hut? [01:52:48] Speaker B: He looks at you and goes, I. I haven't learned that one yet. I'm sorry. [01:52:52] Speaker E: Okay. That's okay. DM if I. If someone carried f Moon and someone carried Roe, that would disrupt the casting. [01:53:03] Speaker B: You get the feeling. [01:53:04] Speaker E: Okay, okay, I'm. Greta's gonna speak up in a loud voice and say, everybody go underground. [01:53:13] Speaker B: Okay? People begin making their way. [01:53:18] Speaker D: Sorry. [01:53:23] Speaker B: Frantically forward. You all are rushing. It takes some effort to get her through that small ladder hanging down. But Alondra's dead body is transferred. Craig, you and. And Boz has to be, like, helped down the ladder. But he gets down there. N needs no time. She's down. She's underground helping. But you notice that he won't get underground until everyone else is. And eventually everyone's been moved under until he looks at you and he goes. And he, like, steps outside and he sees the line of fire coming and he goes, no. And he turns and looks at you, Greta, and he goes, what's Bathro and Thespis? We can't leave them out there. [01:54:05] Speaker E: Yeah, we can't [01:54:08] Speaker B: do. [01:54:10] Speaker E: I am gonna go out, and [01:54:15] Speaker A: can [01:54:15] Speaker E: I estimate how long it takes to. [01:54:17] Speaker C: How long have I been casting? [01:54:19] Speaker B: I want you. We're going to leave this to die. I want you to roll a D100. [01:54:26] Speaker C: You die. And I was like. And we just die. [01:54:29] Speaker B: The amount. We're going to leave this to dead. The amount you roll in your D100 is the percentage you are through the casting. [01:54:36] Speaker C: Okay, Come on. [01:54:38] Speaker B: Baby, no, hold on, hold on, hold on. Okay, that sets you at a disadvantage, now that I think about the statistics. [01:54:44] Speaker E: How many minutes? [01:54:46] Speaker B: No, I'm going to be a little more fair. You've had some time. I want you to roll. I want you to roll a D20 for me. If you get a 16 or higher your level, you're almost done. Or lower, you're not. [01:55:10] Speaker A: Okay. [01:55:10] Speaker C: And nothing. I'm not adding anything. Just straight. [01:55:16] Speaker B: We're gonna leave this to chance. [01:55:21] Speaker C: I don't have advantage because of greater restoration. [01:55:23] Speaker B: Just kidding. [01:55:32] Speaker E: Oh, me. [01:55:38] Speaker C: It is a 16. Was it above 16 or 16? [01:55:46] Speaker B: And no, you got it. You got it. [01:55:55] Speaker C: That still doesn't put us in the clear. But it's closer. [01:55:58] Speaker E: Sorry, [01:56:08] Speaker B: Sorry. I'm taking notes. There's a lot to stuff to manage on screen and off. Ro rushing through the spell with Thespis at your side. You can see the fire coming, the corners of your vision, and this force wells up in you as this wind through the trees. And you swear you hear some of the branches in one of the tempos you've heard and some very basic ruminant of one of the patterns from the old song. And the pace of your spell is magically accelerated very slightly in a massive push over the boundary of the fundamental laws undergirding arcana and harnessing spells. You can go ahead and make your check now. [01:57:09] Speaker C: Oh, for the spell. Oh, my gosh. [01:57:12] Speaker A: Okay. [01:57:12] Speaker B: You have advantage. [01:57:15] Speaker C: Okay. What do I add to it? Just my charisma modifier. [01:57:20] Speaker B: Charisma. [01:57:28] Speaker C: That is a dirty 20. [01:57:31] Speaker B: I have been saving my DM inspiration for about 60 episodes. It is yours. Go ahead and roll again. [01:57:44] Speaker A: Oh, [01:57:57] Speaker C: That is a 23. [01:58:14] Speaker B: With a flash of energy, there is a sputtering cough and blood pushes out of the mouth of Ethmund Kai. And Thespis doesn't say a word before he hooks him an arm under his and begins dragging him with so much force that it, like, kind of whiplashes F Moon's neck a little bit. And he begins rotating his body, dragging F Moon face down through the snow, blood smearing in it, but he's just chugging. And you guys are trying to help, but in a moment of adrenaline, Thespuss, who's strong, but not that strong on his own, drags F Moon quickly across the yard and up the stairs, hitting him on stair and drag, yelling, run. [01:58:58] Speaker E: Go, Go, go. Run. [01:58:59] Speaker B: Okay, Goober runs. Now that he sees you coming, he's. He runs to the door and he holds it open and lifts it. [01:59:05] Speaker A: We need him. [01:59:06] Speaker B: You all can see as the fire is burning across the sky. You all are pulling and moving. I need. I need the people who are up top row. [01:59:18] Speaker C: I just want to be clear. I'm the last one. I'm letting Thespis and F moon Kai go in front. [01:59:24] Speaker B: Sure, sure. Well, you're going to push F moon through that door, but I need all three of you to give me a group athletics check to try and get all of this through in time. [01:59:35] Speaker E: Okay. [01:59:38] Speaker C: So do I. Can I roll an advantage because of my greater. No, that's only on charisma. [01:59:42] Speaker A: Can we assist from below? [01:59:43] Speaker B: Greater restoration doesn't give you advantage. It just means that you. [01:59:46] Speaker E: No, no, no. Enhance ability. [01:59:48] Speaker B: Enhance abilities. [01:59:48] Speaker C: I mean, enhanceability. I'm so sorry. That's what I meant. [01:59:52] Speaker B: Craig. I will say. I will say that you can assist catching body going down. So. And you're very strong. You can pick one of the people to have advantage. And I'm just gonna have you pick right now. No other communication to Micah. Micah, who are you giving advantage to? [02:00:09] Speaker A: I'm giving advantage to row. [02:00:12] Speaker B: That's probably a good idea. [02:00:15] Speaker C: Yeah. Because I rolled a three. [02:00:17] Speaker E: Great. I got a 13. [02:00:20] Speaker B: Oh, that's just been working out. [02:00:24] Speaker E: Oh, no. [02:00:25] Speaker B: Oh, okay, big boy. [02:00:27] Speaker C: I got a nine. [02:00:28] Speaker B: Okay, Greta got a three, so I gotta. [02:00:33] Speaker E: I got a 13. [02:00:35] Speaker B: 13, bro. [02:00:36] Speaker E: Got a three before. Well, nine is better than three. [02:00:40] Speaker C: Nine is better than three. [02:00:41] Speaker B: Plenty of averaging. And the big boy muscles he's been working on on got a 21. So I need to do some math and average those real fast. [02:00:55] Speaker C: A 9 will bring up the average better than a 3. [02:00:58] Speaker B: That is true. Oh, I forgot to divide and I went 43. That's great. [02:01:03] Speaker C: Now let's just leave it at the 43. [02:01:07] Speaker B: You all are pushing and pushing and pushing. You get f moon through the trapdoor door as you can start to hear the line of fire burning in the distance approaching. You can hear screaming from the town as pandemonium is breaking out. And you start to watch out of the periphery of your vision through that bay window at the far end of your. Of your home opposite the log into the kitchen. As you start to watch the clouds being burned away and the wave of flood fire burning across the sky. It was DC15. The group averaged to 14.33 repeating. So you all got F mooned through. RO slipped down the door. Or excuse me, Greta slipped down the door. Row and Shagober were the last ones standing above as the spire the fire tears across the sky. Anyone who has already made a saving throw against this against the soul. Fire does not need to repeat it. [02:02:15] Speaker A: Oh, no. [02:02:16] Speaker C: So I don't have to repeat it? [02:02:18] Speaker B: No, none of you have to repeat it. [02:02:20] Speaker C: But Goober does. Thespis got down, right? [02:02:23] Speaker E: Yeah, Thespis already been. [02:02:27] Speaker B: I'm going to use the deep magic die that Kara gave me. Oh. [02:02:37] Speaker C: I grabbed Goober's hand. I can't tell if his reactions are good or bad. I have one more diamond. [02:03:06] Speaker E: Diamond. [02:03:11] Speaker B: Something about Cara and luck. [02:03:13] Speaker C: Oh, Cara. [02:03:15] Speaker B: That was an 18 on the die. This is forever my lucky die, if it wasn't already. And next time you see Kara, give her a big old hug and just say, that's her, Goober. Oh, I'd rehearsed that death for a while, and I don't have to do it today. The fire tears through outside and the whole land as Shippiguba falls to his knees. And he starts shaking and convulsing in your hands. And you pull him close. His blood coughs out of his mouth and Rose. You grip him with terror. Greta. You climb halfway back up the ladder to see. And all of you freeze before the shaking stops and the fire moves on. And then Shippukuba is breathing raggedly. He is alive. [02:04:16] Speaker E: Yeah. [02:04:18] Speaker C: I. [02:04:19] Speaker D: What you all do. [02:04:20] Speaker C: I try to. I yell for Thespis, and I say, thespis, take him. And I help move him. [02:04:27] Speaker B: And Thesp lowers him through the hole. [02:04:32] Speaker C: And then I. I follow down as well as. And close the door behind you. [02:04:39] Speaker B: And as you walk down the ladder, the world above closes and you all are plunged. [02:04:49] Speaker E: I cast light in the dark. Sorry. [02:04:51] Speaker B: Of the basement below before light floods the space. And there. I get to erase his name from the list at the bottom of the page. [02:05:08] Speaker E: Oh, wow. [02:05:12] Speaker C: I think after the moment Ro gets down off of the ladder because she teleported, then resurrected, then ran. I think she just collapses into, like, if Thespis is right there, she's like, claps onto him and she's just like. Like, obviously she's not, like, out, but she's basically out. Like, she's expended. And she's just, like, shaking and breathing really heavily and just. She's like, muttering like, like, parts of spells and stuff. Like, she's just so, like, it finally [02:05:52] Speaker B: all running through the resurrection direction spell again and again, even though nothing. [02:05:55] Speaker C: Because she was, like, so focused to get everyone out and then so focused to bring him back that now, like, she finally. Her brain is like, a little bit broken right now, and she's just like, muttering back and forth and shaking. [02:06:09] Speaker E: Yeah, [02:06:12] Speaker B: sorry, sorry, sorry. [02:06:13] Speaker D: Sorry. [02:06:13] Speaker E: Well, I think. I think. Oh, sorry. Oh. Brett is just gonna, like, take a couple breaths and then she's just gonna try and find, like, check on everyone. She's gonna go around and try and, like, make sure, like, just lay hands on everyone and make sure that everyone is. Is breathing and. Okay. [02:06:39] Speaker D: Okay, [02:06:45] Speaker B: Greta, you move around the room and you check on individual by individual. Alandra's body is still. It's feels more and more like a thing not alive, especially after its time in the snow. She's damp all over. She's just limp, pale. And there you all cower in the space below, trembling. From his entrance. [02:07:27] Speaker D: All he did was step into the world. [02:07:31] Speaker B: Um, Tello lets you all check on everyone. 1. He just once Shagober is like, like, up and conscious. Tello just runs up to him and then, like, slows right when he gets to him, like, sits him up gently, but then hugs him a little too hard and it really hurts. Like, he's like. And Tello, like, backs off a little bit and he just kisses him on top of his head and then plants him up against the wall and then be like. He pulls out like, some dirty cloth, cleans it as best he can, and starts wiping blood away from his mouth and from his nose and from his eyes, just trying to clean off his face, which is actually horrible because now it's just smearing the blood everywhere, but he's just desperately trying to clean him. [02:08:09] Speaker E: Yeah. What is Ethmoon doing? Greta goes and checks on Ethmoon. [02:08:16] Speaker B: He is alive. He is alive. He's like, sat up against the wall and he's just panting and. His eyes are fluttering open and closed, but it doesn't particularly seem like he's here at the moment. He's alive. His body is trying to convince itself that. [02:08:45] Speaker E: Yeah, wow, okay, is Nam and Tello. And I guess Tellah's here. Nom is here too. [02:08:59] Speaker B: Nom. For a second, you don't know where Nam is. Before looking around the space. She has pressed herself into a corner, retreating into some tiny little shadow where only the very edge of the light can pick her up. And she just has her crossbow aimed at the door and she won't take it down. She doesn't fully understand what's happening, but [02:09:23] Speaker E: yeah, it's taken her. I. I say the worst is over. For now. We're. We're okay for now. [02:09:38] Speaker B: Nam's just trembling where she is, and [02:09:40] Speaker D: she says, what was that? [02:09:45] Speaker E: I was. [02:09:48] Speaker B: What was that? [02:09:52] Speaker E: That was the. The hate fall. [02:10:01] Speaker B: What, Greta, what was it? [02:10:03] Speaker E: What was that? It was a evil. An evil being entered the world and. And caused a wave of evil magic. The wave is gone for now, but the evil being is still here. [02:10:19] Speaker B: You have to keep me safe, Greta. [02:10:21] Speaker C: We will. [02:10:22] Speaker E: I'm gonna do everything I can. We're gonna. We're gonna. [02:10:27] Speaker B: Rhys steadies her aim and points it at the door and just pulls further back into the corner. You watch her eyes dart to the. The cave path to her side, as if she's ready to bolt down at any moment, but she just sits there, shivering. Yeah, you all. [02:10:43] Speaker C: Oh. [02:10:44] Speaker E: Where's Shista? [02:10:46] Speaker B: Shista is down there with you. She has now Tello managed to find her pants. They're his pants, so they're a little tight at the hips and then a little loose at the calves. And then he got just a coat over her, so she doesn't have a shirt, but she has a coat. And it's bound tightly around her because not a jacket like we would think of, but a large cloak is bound around her. And then there's just. Also there is a rug from the floor around her shoulders, helping keep her warm. And she's just balled up in a corner tightly, just shivering and breathing. [02:11:23] Speaker E: Yeah. [02:11:23] Speaker C: What is BA's is. Boz is almost out, isn't he? [02:11:29] Speaker B: He is there. Yeah, he is there. Honestly, Boz is gotten really quiet. [02:11:41] Speaker C: Yeah. [02:11:42] Speaker B: He's just glaring up at the door, and he doesn't look like he's at a good place physically, and he doesn't look like he's at a good place mentally. [02:11:54] Speaker C: Is. Is who's like, is Thespis, like, in really bad health? Like, is anyone, like, everybody or like, [02:12:10] Speaker B: no one looks like they need a spell cast on them? [02:12:12] Speaker C: Okay. [02:12:13] Speaker B: In this moment, it looks like it's just you and the reality. [02:12:17] Speaker E: Yeah. [02:12:20] Speaker B: As the fire moves across the sky, as the soul fire moves around the world. You were on the other side of the world a short time ago. In moments more. In minutes, it will have moved around the whole world. The world is filled with spellcaster. [02:12:48] Speaker E: How do you know who all died? [02:12:54] Speaker C: We won't for a while. [02:12:57] Speaker A: Like. Like, nifty. [02:12:58] Speaker E: And, like, [02:13:01] Speaker A: all these spellcasting people. Like, how do you know who lives? Who died? [02:13:07] Speaker B: You say that name and Shista just kind of, like, looks up, still kind of dazed and confused. [02:13:12] Speaker A: Oh, no, I was talking. [02:13:17] Speaker D: Okay, okay. [02:13:19] Speaker A: No, I was. No, I'm saying, like, how do we know who's. [02:13:23] Speaker B: Okay, all right. Okay, okay. No, it's okay. I'm not trying to, like, track you guys and penalize. I'm Sorry, I thought we were role playing. Please continue. [02:13:31] Speaker E: You're good. [02:13:31] Speaker B: You're good. [02:13:33] Speaker A: No, I mean, like. Like, do you have to roll checks? Like, logistically, do you have to roll checks for everyone that we try and call to see if they're alive or [02:13:40] Speaker B: dead or do you know I've been rolling it. [02:13:43] Speaker A: Like, if we called nifty. Like, do you have to roll and see if he's dead? [02:13:47] Speaker B: Like, I've already checked. [02:13:50] Speaker E: Oh, God. [02:13:51] Speaker B: The whole time you guys were doing that, I was making saving throws. [02:13:54] Speaker E: Oh, my God. [02:13:57] Speaker B: I had a list open in front of me. [02:13:59] Speaker E: Oh, we should call Bella on. [02:14:11] Speaker B: You do. So [02:14:13] Speaker C: I think after, like, I don't [02:14:17] Speaker B: know, you all are just here. [02:14:18] Speaker C: Yeah. After, like, I don't know, like, a half an hour or so passes. [02:14:23] Speaker E: Yeah. I want to go check on Shista. [02:14:27] Speaker B: Okay. [02:14:27] Speaker E: And just. I just go over to her and I put my hands on her shoulders and I. It's like, we're okay for now. We're okay for now. [02:14:42] Speaker B: Her shivering has reduced. She's just gotten very still. [02:14:47] Speaker C: Yeah. [02:14:49] Speaker B: In your significantly experienced opinion on reactions to trauma at this point, she looks like she's gone into a state of shock. Like, the lights are on and someone's home, but that person's asleep, so to speak. The person who's home, she's in there, but she's just. You. You put your hand on your shoulder and you say what you say, and she just, like, she's staring at a point on the wall when she approach, she's standing on a point in the wall when you touch her, and she's staring at a point in the wall when you're done saying what you say. [02:15:27] Speaker E: Yeah, [02:15:32] Speaker A: Can I call my family? [02:15:36] Speaker B: Do whatever you want. At any point in role play, Micah, [02:15:39] Speaker E: are you ask, is Craig asking or is Micah asking? [02:15:43] Speaker B: Oh, we were back at roleplay. Sorry, [02:15:49] Speaker A: I just. Damn who I am. I'm Craig. [02:15:51] Speaker B: If only we had started this campaign going, Craig going, hi. Hi, guys. [02:16:00] Speaker E: I give Craig the stone. [02:16:03] Speaker A: Yeah. It was not in his mouth. He does not feel like chewing right now. [02:16:06] Speaker B: We don't need to ruin this moment. It's okay. I will not throw that on you. [02:16:10] Speaker E: He does not feel like chewing right now. [02:16:15] Speaker A: So he's gonna. Because they're not magical. Catherine and Aaron. [02:16:23] Speaker B: Yeah. To Craig's knowledge. They have no magic. [02:16:26] Speaker A: They have no magic. [02:16:27] Speaker C: They're secretly wizards. [02:16:30] Speaker A: No. No. I would be completely happy with all [02:16:33] Speaker E: that you've picked up, [02:16:38] Speaker A: made the call to Catherine. [02:16:40] Speaker D: Friend [02:16:43] Speaker A: feel connection. [02:16:47] Speaker B: You do. You feel a connection, [02:16:58] Speaker A: Craig? [02:17:05] Speaker D: What? [02:17:07] Speaker A: I don't Know what time it is where you are, but I need to tell you something. [02:17:11] Speaker D: Okay. [02:17:12] Speaker B: Craig. [02:17:13] Speaker D: What? Hold on. Craig, It. I'm asleep. [02:17:21] Speaker B: Craig. [02:17:22] Speaker A: I know. That's good. [02:17:28] Speaker D: Craig, what is it? [02:17:31] Speaker A: Right now. [02:17:32] Speaker D: Okay. Craig. [02:17:34] Speaker A: He. He. [02:17:35] Speaker D: Did you call me in the morning? [02:17:36] Speaker A: Did not make it, but we revived him. He's alive. Now [02:17:43] Speaker E: stay inside. [02:17:44] Speaker A: Don't go outside. [02:17:47] Speaker D: Craig, what are you talking about? [02:17:52] Speaker A: There was. [02:17:54] Speaker B: Craig. Is something. [02:17:56] Speaker A: Something's wrong. [02:17:57] Speaker B: Something wrong? [02:17:58] Speaker A: Yes. [02:17:59] Speaker E: Something. [02:18:00] Speaker D: Okay, do I. Do I need to. Do I need to leave? [02:18:06] Speaker B: What do I need to do? What. [02:18:07] Speaker D: What. [02:18:07] Speaker B: What are you calling me? [02:18:08] Speaker A: You are very safe where you are right now. [02:18:11] Speaker D: You called me to tell me that [02:18:13] Speaker B: I need to be where I am. [02:18:15] Speaker A: I need you to not move, not go outside. [02:18:18] Speaker D: Well, I was asleep, so. [02:18:21] Speaker A: Which is good. I. [02:18:23] Speaker D: What do you. [02:18:23] Speaker B: What do you. [02:18:24] Speaker D: What do you mean, don't go outside? [02:18:28] Speaker A: The skies are catching on fire. I know this is a lot. Welcome to my world. Every moment is changing. There was an enemy that was locked away out of this realm for 3,000 years. [02:18:43] Speaker D: We're talking about magic? [02:18:45] Speaker A: Yes. [02:18:46] Speaker D: Okay. [02:18:47] Speaker A: There was an enemy that was gone for 3,000 years, and it made its way back. Okay, and it is bad. [02:18:56] Speaker D: That's what you all are fighting now? Yes. [02:18:59] Speaker A: We are barely making it. I'm talking dying and having to use magic to. [02:19:08] Speaker C: Barely. [02:19:08] Speaker B: You're dead people that. Your. Your friends are dead. [02:19:12] Speaker A: Some of them. Not ones you know. Not ones you know. [02:19:17] Speaker D: Okay. Why are you telling me this, Greg? What am I supposed to do? [02:19:22] Speaker A: It's weighty, and I. That's why I need you to know you cannot. You cannot leave. [02:19:27] Speaker D: Okay? I'll stay here. Do you. [02:19:31] Speaker B: Do you need to not be there? What are. What are you. [02:19:33] Speaker D: Why are you telling me this? [02:19:34] Speaker A: We're underground. We're underground, too. We're. We're out of. We're out of that site. [02:19:43] Speaker D: Okay? [02:19:44] Speaker A: I just need you to know that we're doing the best we can [02:19:50] Speaker E: and [02:19:50] Speaker A: you're safe where you are. Think. Thankfully. Oh, my goodness. Thankfully. But I need you to be very careful to not. Not go to the surface right now. [02:20:03] Speaker D: Okay? Well, we don't, so that's good. Okay. [02:20:08] Speaker A: I'm so glad you're safe. And then Craig just, like, breaks down. He just breaks down. He's like, I'm so glad you're safe. I was worried you were gonna be dead. And he, like. I was so worried you were gonna be dead. [02:20:25] Speaker D: I'm okay. Craig, There are so many dead. [02:20:29] Speaker A: And he just, like, in a moment of vulnerability, he. He just, like, breaks down and, like, he's like, so scared. [02:20:38] Speaker B: She just gets really quiet. [02:20:44] Speaker D: If you need to come home, Craig, you can. [02:20:47] Speaker A: How badly I want to. I want to come home. I want to come home and be with you. I want to protect you. I want to protect everyone, but I'm so. I'm so limited. There's so much I can't do. I'm doing my best. I can't save everyone, but I want to save you. [02:21:15] Speaker D: I'm safe. [02:21:17] Speaker A: Okay? Okay. And I think he just, like, keeps repeating that to himself, like. Like trying to calm himself down, like. Okay, okay. [02:21:29] Speaker D: If you need to go back home to Basta, I'm sure your mom would. I don't know. I don't know. Greg. [02:21:41] Speaker A: You're going to be okay. We're going to be okay. [02:21:48] Speaker D: I'm. I'm here with Aaron and. And we'll stay. We'll stay underground. If you need to go back to Beasta, you can. You don't have to do this. [02:22:05] Speaker A: Oh, Cat. If I don't do this, our world ends. I have to do this. [02:22:13] Speaker D: I don't really understand, Craig, but. Okay. [02:22:17] Speaker A: Thank you. The good news is Ethn Kai is still here, which means that the temple is okay. Safe. [02:22:27] Speaker D: So is he coming back now or. [02:22:30] Speaker A: I don't know what he plans to do. We'll see. I think he's going to stay here with me. You go back to sleep if you can. [02:22:40] Speaker B: Okay? [02:22:42] Speaker A: I love you. [02:22:43] Speaker D: All right, Craig. Okay. Just get some sleep [02:22:51] Speaker E: and then that's it. [02:22:57] Speaker C: I think after, like, a significant amount of time has gone by and Ro is still just like, like, kind of out of it. Is. Is she still, like, near Thespus? I guess, sure. [02:23:21] Speaker B: Yeah. [02:23:22] Speaker C: I. I think. I think she looks up at him and she's like, I. I can't. I can't lose another one of you. [02:23:35] Speaker B: He just. He just pulls you a little closer. [02:23:38] Speaker D: He goes right here. [02:23:40] Speaker C: No, but you can't die. No, you can't die right now. And I think as if you'll allow me to do it as flavoring because. [02:23:55] Speaker B: Yeah, do your. [02:23:58] Speaker C: She reaches up and. And puts her hand on his. On his face and she casts. She just, like, speaks a few words or like, sings a few words and she casts death ward. But, like, when she does it, she, like, also casts it on Greta and Craig and Tello and Spaghuber and boss and I accounted. [02:24:19] Speaker B: I'm with you. [02:24:20] Speaker C: House Lots and thespace. [02:24:21] Speaker B: Yeah, you're like, individually spelling. [02:24:22] Speaker C: Yeah, it's like. [02:24:23] Speaker B: But in this moment, you're. [02:24:24] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, yeah, but it's. It's at Thespis and she just kind of sings it and she's like, I can't. I can't. I can't lose another one of you right now. [02:24:37] Speaker B: He just puts a hand on your hand. He pulls it down and he squeezes [02:24:40] Speaker D: and he goes right here. So we're just gonna sit here. And right now we don't have to be anywhere else right now. We're just gonna be here, [02:24:54] Speaker C: okay? [02:24:54] Speaker D: We've done everything we can do. Right now. We're just gonna sit right here. Right here together. Everyone's alive here. We're just gonna sit here. Now that's what we have to do. [02:25:07] Speaker C: We have to find. We have to find another diamond for Laundroma. [02:25:14] Speaker D: We have to sit down. The only thing you have to do is breathe in and then out and then in and then out. Just breathe. No one needs you to do anything else. Just breathe and then breathe again and then breathe again. And I'll breathe with you. We'll just breathe. We're just gonna sit here. [02:25:44] Speaker B: Here. [02:25:48] Speaker D: We're here. We're just going to sit here. [02:25:58] Speaker B: As he talks to you, he like puts his head up against the wall and he rolls it up toward the dirt boarded ceiling. [02:26:07] Speaker D: And he just. [02:26:08] Speaker B: Some tears well up in his eyes and roll down his cheeks and he lets go of your hand, squeezing you a little tightly, hugging you. And then he softly rubs his finger around his face, doing the stars again and again and again and again quietly to himself. [02:26:29] Speaker C: And I think Ro just eventually she tires herself out so much that she just collapses into sleep and she falls asleep. But everyone is death warded now. [02:26:44] Speaker B: Yeah, there you go. That's important. For eight hours, bro falls asleep. Craig falls asleep. We can all be falling asleep. [02:27:00] Speaker D: Okay? [02:27:05] Speaker B: When Greta falls asleep, once she's fully asleep, unless you add something, Abby, she just makes. [02:27:13] Speaker E: She makes sure that everyone is okay before she lays her head down. [02:27:18] Speaker D: Okay. [02:27:18] Speaker B: And you do some last healings are dispersed and. After you fall asleep, in fact, when about everybody's out, Shippagoober stays awake and he very slowly gets up and walks patiently across the room. And Nam still has the crossbow aimed at the door. She has for about 35 minutes now. And he reaches over and where her arms are locked and she's focused. He just puts his hand on the top of the bow and he releases the mechanism and then just slowly uses both of his arms to let the cord be pulled all the way back. And then he pulls the bolt out and he slips it in her sheath at her side. Then he just puts on his hands on the crossbow and starts pushing it down. And it uses a lot of his strength, but slowly it goes down. And then he just pushes the crossbow back toward her chest, and he puts an arm around her shoulder, and he slides down and sits with her on the floor and kind of hugs her. And she stays watching the door. And he doesn't say anything. He just sits down with her. And Tello has stayed awake, and wherever Greta has fallen asleep, he sits down next to her, and he just puts his crossbow in his lap and he watches the door. And on that moment, in the last stronghold of their home, as the hate falls over Yalabram, that is where we will end. Episode 174.
