Episode Transcript
[00:00:05] Speaker A: Welcome back to Bailey DND, your sword of Dungeons and Dragons podcast. I'm Jackie. I'm not your host, but I am hopefully your favorite bard. We are back with the accidental adventures, episode 117, and it's a beautiful evening.
Yeah, take it away, Zach.
[00:00:27] Speaker B: You know, everyone always says I'm so and so, but I'm not your host. But to be fair, I mean, there's one DM, but I guess we're all hosts. Yeah, like we are host, but read like we are Groot. We are joined by Abby, as you can hear, who is very sleepy. But that could make things fun.
[00:00:44] Speaker C: I have a lot of energy. I've just done a lot of driving today. Listeners, guess in the chat where I drove him.
[00:00:49] Speaker B: Okay, I don't think we have a chat.
[00:00:52] Speaker A: Yeah, you can chat now on Spotify.
[00:00:55] Speaker B: Okay, I stand corrected. As I often stand, Micah is still out fighting with the elephants in Africa. Remember, the big Micah is not fighting against the elephants, but against the people with the elephants.
Our letter question is, if your character stopped at a gas station on a long road trip, what would they buy from the gas station? The DMNPC is viscid. Let's start with Greta.
[00:01:21] Speaker D: He'd buy the nerds, the crunchy, gooey Citadel.
[00:01:23] Speaker B: Greta has been overridden by sheer vigor. Oz would stop and get.
[00:01:28] Speaker D: I wonder if someone was going to say that. So I want to take it first.
[00:01:32] Speaker B: So boss would get the crunchy, gooey nerds.
[00:01:35] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:01:37] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:01:37] Speaker D: Y'all know what I'm talking about. Don't pretend you don't.
[00:01:40] Speaker A: No, I know what you're talking about. Because when you picked me up from the airport.
[00:01:43] Speaker B: Don't pretend.
[00:01:44] Speaker A: We had a conversation about how nerds. How good nerds are, and.
And the person that invented them was really on to something.
[00:01:54] Speaker D: Oh, yeah, they were on something, for sure.
[00:01:56] Speaker C: You know who's onto something? The people who put the nerds in the little Halloween boxes so you can.
I don't need. I don't need this many nerds. I need, like, two mouthfuls.
[00:02:07] Speaker B: Gummy clusters.
[00:02:07] Speaker D: Gummy clusters. That's what they're called.
[00:02:09] Speaker B: Gummy clusters.
[00:02:11] Speaker A: Slowly losing patience. Quick.
[00:02:13] Speaker C: Crunchy, gooey nerds. Greta would get.
[00:02:16] Speaker B: Greta would get.
[00:02:19] Speaker C: She would ask the gas station attendee, depending on who it is, she might just take them. Coffee grounds from the coffee maker.
[00:02:28] Speaker B: No, no.
[00:02:30] Speaker C: A package of sunflower seeds and.
[00:02:34] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:02:34] Speaker C: Better, I think, like a tea.
[00:02:39] Speaker A: She wouldn't get, like, an expired sandwich. That was in the case.
[00:02:43] Speaker B: She's going around checking all the expiration dates, but only for the things that are expired.
[00:02:48] Speaker A: No, I'm just kidding.
[00:02:49] Speaker B: You know, Greta would get gas station sushi. I feel it.
[00:02:53] Speaker C: That's not true.
[00:02:53] Speaker B: And she'd just be like, I like the rumblies.
I just want to. I just want a smash cut of Greta being like, yeah, I'd eat the coffee grounds. And then her being like, wow, old sushi. Pretty nasty.
[00:03:06] Speaker C: I didn't say she was gonna eat the coffee grounds.
[00:03:09] Speaker B: What's she gonna do with the coffee.
[00:03:10] Speaker C: Grounds for her garden?
[00:03:14] Speaker B: Wow. That was a really good answer.
And also this. Oh, that's the first time I've known Abby for a lot of years now, but she's never barked at me before.
This is a specific energy. What would Ro get from the gas station?
[00:03:31] Speaker A: I think Ro.
I think Ro would love, like a.
I think Ro would get, like, one of those. One of those huge buckets and fill a slurpee. Like, fill it up with slurpee?
[00:03:50] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:03:51] Speaker A: Like, she'd just be carrying, like, the route 44 size or whatever.
[00:03:55] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:03:56] Speaker A: And it would be like, half of her. She'd be like. And her mouth and everything would be like, bright red. And she'd be like, hi, guys. Hi, guys. What's up?
And probably some, like, just a bunch of hostess. She would think that was the best invention ever. She'd be like, you can get these cakes to go in a little package, and she can hyped up.
[00:04:18] Speaker B: Now I'm just deep into a vision of the fun guys driving their Honda Odyssey across the US on a road trip. And it's got a sticker on the back that says it's a poor bet. And boss is at the steering wheel, just, like, breathing deeply. And Greta is in the back, slapping Craig, going, stop it. Stop it. And Craig's going, and Greta and rose halfway up, just on her lute, like, 200 grams of sugar in just going. And then I've been working on a new song, and hello's just like trying to read a book. Hitting his head against the windshield. And Shabuki was just listening to the radio, going, I don't know about you, but I feel like 22, and I just, like, I'm seeing the whole road trip now.
[00:04:59] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:05:00] Speaker B: Anyhow, noms and a travel carrier in the back, but okay. Biscuit.
Well, like, the more socially aware, fully competent Dwight Schrute of the Kefkan military that he is, I think he would go into a gas station, and, I mean, he wouldn't get any of the things that are so delicious. He'd just be like, yes, please, could I have a packet of almonds as well as a low sugar protein bar. And I think that I want a little insidium there, but I think. I think it would just be all nutrients and he'd like the almonds. Keep me awake at night when I drive, and it would just be all that crap. So. Also, I feel like he drives with readers, but that's funny.
[00:05:41] Speaker A: Oh, yeah.
[00:05:43] Speaker B: Also, Abby, you're muted if you said anything.
Okay. And now for the most important customary moment of every session Abby can be surprised by. For the note taking nerds, this is Abby saluted.
This is episode 117 of the Accidental Adventures.
What goes up?
[00:06:08] Speaker A: Oh, no.
I don't like the end of that phrase.
[00:06:16] Speaker B: It is a level eleven adventure. The date is 34 88. Police butter, Calolan, nine or waltz is it eight now?
[00:06:27] Speaker A: It's about to be the nine eight.
[00:06:28] Speaker B: Yeah, so it's the 8th right now and it'll be the 9th soon, but that's the date.
So, fungis, we're just gonna do a little time jump.
I'm gonna play the one that's literally called Moonsong. And can I put a 7th level.
[00:06:48] Speaker D: Spell on my spell sheet?
[00:06:49] Speaker B: Do you have access to 7th level spells?
[00:06:52] Speaker D: You're the DM, you tell me.
[00:06:53] Speaker B: Okay, no, sorry.
I genuinely didn't mean for that one to get out. I'm genuinely sorry. Party. Okay, Landon.
So ro, you guys are gonna have to trade watches to fly the leaf.
Unless people want a bunch of points of exhaustion, which I assume they don't. So it's not that you can't post on the channel. You just can't post things that funny in the channel. Cause I'll keep getting distracted. Man, that's a good gif. Or just a picture. So after Ro has fallen asleep at some point, who is helming the lef?
Me.
Okay, blahz, it's the middle of the night.
Half the party is as well. Maybe the whole party is asleep on the leaf. And everybody's piled up real in the middle. Cause you guys left. You left the edge of agba behind like 3 hours ago. And it is dark blue, just abyss of ocean below you. And above you is the ocean of stars and the velvet sky. And the only thing that lets you know there's any. Like it feels like it's ocean. And you've sailed in the ocean quite a bit. But because you're so high up now, it feels like this liminal interstellar experience. Because you have an. You have the firmament of the night sky above. Brilliant and overwhelming. And as you fly over, you just have a dark nothingness below, and you're high enough above the ocean, you can't particularly hear it, or you can hear it very dimly as like a.
Like a white noise din. And the only reason you can even see ocean below is that where Twilio and Twila are in the sky. Much further apart now, there's just two white stars streaks over the water in some parts as they reflect downward. But you guys are just sailing in silence over the ocean with the rest of the fun guys very tightly huddled together in the middle. And you guys have tied a couple ropes to each other, and you know he's gonna roll off into the ocean in the night. But, yeah, the party's flying, we're soaring.
What you do, Baz?
[00:09:14] Speaker D: I keep going. I try to be very quiet.
I try to avoid any turbulence. I try to be a very conscientious pilot.
[00:09:23] Speaker B: Could you give me one of them super special survival checks as you navigate the party?
[00:09:28] Speaker D: I get my profession.
[00:09:29] Speaker B: Vistialian sense. Yes. You get your expertise because of your vistialian experience.
Right.
[00:09:34] Speaker D: That is going to be 30 even.
[00:09:39] Speaker A: I thought you said vistiality.
[00:09:41] Speaker C: Wow.
[00:09:43] Speaker B: Oh, man.
I almost said the worst joke I've ever said, but I kept that in, and I'm very thankful. So, Boz, as you fly, you just have that homing og been sensed from miles away. Miles and miles and miles. You can just feel the pull of the plants on this aisle. It's like a magnetic homing, and you're just pulling yourself in the right direction, and you see that beautiful starscape, and you're in this bizarre experience of doing what you have done so many, maybe 100 times before in your life. But now from one of the flying leaves of the deep roots with different purpose, and you just sail through the darkness and silence. Does Boz do anything particularly as he does? Oh, yeah, go ahead.
[00:10:27] Speaker D: Yeah. I want to try to understand the leaf and where it comes from. He's thinking that it might be like one of the leaves of Ogden. It might be, like, enchanted. He's trying to see if this is like a natural occurring leaf or if there's been some sort of enchantment added to it to make it have its quality.
[00:10:43] Speaker B: Booth, either give me. Actually, you know what? I would like you to give me a religion check, but one in which you're proficient. Because for you and your culture, this is religious.
[00:10:56] Speaker D: That's correct.
[00:10:57] Speaker B: But for this, you'll be proficient. Cause everybody rolling hot tonight.
[00:11:07] Speaker A: What'd you roll?
[00:11:09] Speaker B: 23.
Greta better not mess all this up.
Also, since you're considering this for a long time. You could guidance yourself if you want to, boss, but live your dreams. Be your people.
[00:11:19] Speaker D: I'm gonna do that too.
It's a 20. I said 23 before, right?
[00:11:24] Speaker B: Yes, 25.
Excellent.
You are aware that. Okay, so this. It can't be one of the leaves of augment because it's wrong. The shape is a little wrong, and the vasculature veins branching off from the main.
The main artery of the leaf is. Are they, like, coil, wrong? But as you stare at it for a long time, you look at its whirling power patterns, and you realize it is one of the ogbon leaves, and it's been transmuted through powerful druidic magics. And it occurs to you that the deep roots probably. I mean, Agba's leaves are gigantic. This is probably.
You could probably get much bigger ones, which makes sense. The deep roots kind of ride this solo most of the time. So an eight x eight leaf is more than enough. But you're aware that there's probably just a very powerful and complex process of transmuting and enchanting and enduring the leaf to turn it into this magical form that's extra durable and then enchanting it with some sort of a fly spell or something.
Why don't you give me an arcana check while we're at this? If you weren't an 11th level first flame druid, I would say you couldn't do this. But.
[00:12:39] Speaker D: That is an unnatural 20. No, no, 21. That is 21.
[00:12:45] Speaker B: Boz. You look at this and you think to yourself, this process can't be simple, but you are so very magical now. You've learned so very much about your order and its secrets. You bet. If you got one of Agba's leaves on a return journey, and you spent a long time working on it, and you did really well, you might be able to replicate this process again. We would need. It would be hard. We'd have to go through that system I outlined in that document for creating magical items. But you're sitting here looking at it, and you're like, this is doable. I could do this.
It would just be a lot of work.
[00:13:24] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:13:25] Speaker B: And there's even, like, a little gem dust in the vasculature. If you ever wanted to replicate this, you'd have to. You'd have to drop some resources. You'd have to drop some time and effort, but it could be done.
[00:13:34] Speaker C: That's awesome.
[00:13:35] Speaker D: That'd be so cool.
[00:13:38] Speaker A: And if you wanted to, Ro could really study it with her brain so she'll remember what.
[00:13:46] Speaker B: You get woken up in the night and boss just goes, yo, ro, can you study something with your brain?
[00:13:51] Speaker D: Can you count the 24 hours for me, please?
[00:13:55] Speaker A: Count the 24 hours.
[00:13:57] Speaker D: You count the 24 hours, please. No reason.
[00:13:59] Speaker B: Broke every second of the day for us.
So, boz, you travel on in the darkness, or do you wake up to relieve you at some point in the night? Because it is hours of sailing, soaring.
Okay, wake up, Craig. And the character of the only player who's not at the table has woken up. And he goes, all right, thanks, boss. I feel really confident in flying this thing. And real quick, I had a question for you. Yeah, what's up? It's me.
[00:14:24] Speaker D: How many pushups can you do?
[00:14:29] Speaker B: He gets a really emotional look on his face and he goes, I'm done. So much growing, but I don't know if Cat will take me back.
His lip starts quivering and he just has an unexpected powerful moment, the way Micah does.
[00:14:44] Speaker D: Okay, all right.
[00:14:47] Speaker B: Just looks out into the ocean and he goes, the cat sat on the mat.
[00:14:50] Speaker D: If life was one big push up, you could do it.
[00:14:56] Speaker B: Probably like more than 100.
[00:14:58] Speaker D: Okay, nice.
[00:15:01] Speaker B: How does this work? And he just starts moving it and the leaf starts going up and down.
[00:15:07] Speaker A: Can I say I wake up?
[00:15:09] Speaker B: Yeah, for sure.
[00:15:10] Speaker A: I wake up and I ask, I am alarmed.
And Ro goes, Craig, do you want me to take, do you want me to take that over for you?
[00:15:22] Speaker B: Yeah. Okay.
[00:15:24] Speaker A: Lost.
[00:15:24] Speaker D: Asleep.
[00:15:25] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:15:26] Speaker A: Ro takes over the.
[00:15:28] Speaker B: He hands the stem helm back to you and he goes, just remember, I'll stay up with you, I'll keep you company, I'll keep you awake.
[00:15:35] Speaker A: Yeah, sure, Craig.
[00:15:37] Speaker B: Just let me rest my eyes a little.
[00:15:39] Speaker A: Uh huh, uh huh. He just pats Craig on the head.
[00:15:44] Speaker B: Lets me go sleep, and then. That's just canon. Cause it's the thing Micah does in most second sessions. So Craig's outlandish. Um, ro, you're back awake. You were driving originally. Could you give me a constitution?
[00:15:58] Speaker A: Oh, no, that was bad idea on my part.
[00:16:02] Speaker D: Yes, it was.
We are the fun guys who don't do anything.
We just be on leave and sail around. And if you ask us to do anything, we'll just tell you.
[00:16:16] Speaker B: Yeah, curved and then.
[00:16:20] Speaker A: Oh, ro, would you get, you said saving throw, right?
That's ok.
Ooh.
[00:16:29] Speaker B: Greta, what did you raise your hand for?
[00:16:31] Speaker C: Nothing. Okay.
[00:16:38] Speaker B: Dark sky, stay awake.
But you are staying awake.
You can take a little point of what we like to call no exhaustion.
[00:16:50] Speaker A: Take exhaustion.
[00:16:52] Speaker B: Just one little funky point gets to your heart, makes me fart.
Just in a row. You sail for hours more, but your excellent navigation continues. You guys going also. This is important.
You guys just travel, travel, travel, travel, travel, travel, travel, travel. And we have not been revisiting a lot of the apprenticeship training people have been doing on the ship. I mean, Greta hasn't been playing it. Boss has basically been like, I'm not a carpenter anymore. But you've kept up yours, so.
[00:17:20] Speaker A: You mean my navigation?
[00:17:22] Speaker B: Yeah. So could you give me another.
Could you owe me, like. Cause we've missed a lot. Could you owe me five d? Twenty?
What was the last time I helped you keep track of this? It's been months.
[00:17:33] Speaker A: Yeah, it's been a while. I'm at 51 and a half hours right now.
[00:17:37] Speaker B: Yeah, for hours.
[00:17:42] Speaker C: If you ask me, it's not ours.
[00:17:48] Speaker B: At the end of this, you just get an associate's degree.
[00:17:51] Speaker C: That's awesome.
[00:17:52] Speaker B: That is awesome. That's sick.
[00:17:54] Speaker A: You, Jackie, would have one already.
[00:17:55] Speaker C: I don't think you need sick.
[00:17:58] Speaker A: That's 51.
[00:18:00] Speaker B: Okay, you now have 102 hours of training and navigation.
And did I give you a total number that. That should come out of?
[00:18:08] Speaker A: I. No, I have 102 and a half out of.
[00:18:13] Speaker B: Does it. Does it. Does it have a total. Abbey, are you speaking?
[00:18:15] Speaker A: I don't have a total.
I don't have out of. I have out of. For the Craig workout, but not.
[00:18:22] Speaker B: Okay. Did I give you anything, Abby? Cause you look like you're saying something, but now you're sitting in reticence. Silence. Okay, did you. Did you have any input for that, Abby, like, I told you something different a long time ago, or. No.
[00:18:35] Speaker C: Um, I. I did.
[00:18:39] Speaker B: Okay, that cut out. Um. So you're flying.
[00:18:43] Speaker A: Uh, I feel like it was in the.
[00:18:47] Speaker B: Yeah, it's okay. We're moving on.
I've just decided the number is 250, so.
[00:18:52] Speaker A: Oh, okay. I was gonna say I think it was in the 400s, but I will.
[00:18:56] Speaker B: Take 250 once you reach. Okay. And I'm gonna write the rule down right now. So everybody record.
[00:19:01] Speaker A: Okay?
[00:19:02] Speaker B: Once you reach 125 hours of this system, we're doing for the separate individual skills, you get proficiency in those checks. And once you reach 250, you get expertise.
[00:19:13] Speaker A: Sick.
[00:19:14] Speaker B: I'll say. Sorry, dude. I'll say. So.
So, Annie, hoodle, kiss the poodle. You guys are flying. Yes.
[00:19:22] Speaker C: Greta, did I was like, did my audio just cut out, or did I miss something that relates to me?
[00:19:29] Speaker B: No, related to row. I mean, your audio did cut out, but it related to row.
[00:19:34] Speaker A: Well, she didn't. Did you hear about the 125 hours and 250 hours?
[00:19:39] Speaker C: I did hear about that?
[00:19:42] Speaker B: So, ro, more flying, more flying, more flying.
On to the darkness. But you keep your heading well with the stars.
Golds are very bright. Give me a really high decent perception check for Kipkin kick.
[00:20:01] Speaker A: Oh, boggers, boggers.
I only got a twelve.
[00:20:09] Speaker B: Oof. Okay, don't worry about it.
[00:20:10] Speaker A: I literally rolled a sue.
[00:20:13] Speaker B: Yeah.
Okay. At some point, light begins dawning on the horizon. And row, you are feeling very tired, but you have the rains, quote unquote of the leaf. And the party is snailing onward.
[00:20:26] Speaker A: I wake up boss and Greta.
[00:20:30] Speaker B: Okay, boss and Greta, you are awaked.
[00:20:32] Speaker A: And I say, I'll take that now.
[00:20:36] Speaker D: You woke up two people. You only had to wake up one.
[00:20:39] Speaker A: It's like daylight. Boz.
[00:20:42] Speaker D: I'm going back down. Boss goes back to sleep.
[00:20:44] Speaker B: Boz goes, yeah. Or teller goes. Yes, almost.
[00:20:50] Speaker A: Greta, how do you feel about flying this thing?
[00:20:53] Speaker C: I feel great about it. Let me honor. Let me do it.
[00:20:56] Speaker A: Okay, I'm gonna take a nap now. Good night.
And she takes a nap now.
[00:21:02] Speaker B: Okay, Greta, you are handed the stem, and you are given the most basic directions of push down. The leaf goes down. Pull up, the leaf goes up. Squeeze the stem hard. It goes fast. Hold it loose, it goes slower.
[00:21:14] Speaker C: Do you guys, like, maintain like hours.
[00:21:18] Speaker B: And hours and hours and hours. Oh, yeah. You gotta fly this thing.
So, Greta, you have hold of it as Ro goes down for a little nap. Also, Ro, you're gonna need to hit a whole 8 hours here to get that exhaustion away. So it seems unlikely, but live your dreams.
Greta, could you give me a survival check for navigation to know where you're.
[00:21:41] Speaker A: Going.
[00:21:44] Speaker B: On the open ocean on a flying beef.
[00:21:47] Speaker A: Told her. I feel like I told her before. I went down general direction and I fell asleep.
[00:21:52] Speaker B: Gave her a heading in the open ocean.
[00:21:55] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:21:58] Speaker B: What'd you get? Green. Go.
Why did the music stop?
[00:22:04] Speaker A: No, I got real quiet, I think.
[00:22:06] Speaker B: Right, yeah. I want to turn Kenku up on the left side of my screen using the volume modifier.
[00:22:14] Speaker C: I'm gonna cast guidance on my.
[00:22:16] Speaker B: Do it.
[00:22:17] Speaker D: As Ro lay down next to me, I say, you go sleep. You should have gone to sleep. And I like, I like, I like slap her shoulder and I say poof. And I cast graded restoration and I remove the exhaustion.
[00:22:29] Speaker B: Ro, your exhaustion is removed.
[00:22:31] Speaker A: Thanks, Bob.
[00:22:31] Speaker B: Does greater restoration have any material components.
[00:22:33] Speaker D: Or not greater rest? That is actually a very good question, Zachary. Look at you, Mandev.
[00:22:39] Speaker A: Good question. Dia.
[00:22:40] Speaker B: Call me good questions.
[00:22:41] Speaker D: It does. But guess what? I have it.
[00:22:45] Speaker B: Oh.
[00:22:47] Speaker D: I purchased spell components for this very reason.
[00:22:49] Speaker C: This is my inspiration.
[00:22:51] Speaker D: I can cast it three more times.
[00:22:53] Speaker B: Freaking sick. Lando, please change the amount in your inventory. But very dope. Very dope.
[00:22:58] Speaker A: Oh, it's diamond dust. Oh, dang, Boz. Thank you.
[00:23:02] Speaker B: So Boz slaps you with 100 gold of diamond dust, and it just sort of evaporates off of you.
[00:23:07] Speaker A: Oh, I feel. Yeah. Good.
[00:23:09] Speaker B: And you are up and at him. So now you don't need to go back to sleep, Greta. You get advantage on your check.
[00:23:17] Speaker C: I get advantage on my check?
[00:23:19] Speaker B: Yes. Because now Rose awaken can help you. Then you can unuse your inspiration.
[00:23:25] Speaker C: Oh, I can?
[00:23:26] Speaker B: Yeah. So you can still have the two rolls and just give yourself your inspiration back. What'd you get?
[00:23:31] Speaker C: I got a nine.
[00:23:33] Speaker B: Okay. Greta seems confident, ro. You feel like she's doing it wrong, but she's helming it.
But it is okay, because this has all been a red herring. You guys are less than a mile out from your destination after all this flying. So it doesn't matter that Greta's getting it wrong. You could see her steering in the wrong direction. You're like, okay, landmass Greta. And she's like. And you guys get going the right way, and you start to see in the distance what I describe as the following. I'm actually gonna change the song again. What should I change it to?
This one.
[00:24:05] Speaker D: North storm.
[00:24:09] Speaker B: How does this one go?
No, I don't want this.
[00:24:14] Speaker A: That would be terrifying. I think it would be my pants.
[00:24:18] Speaker B: I'll go with this. Maybe I might change it.
[00:24:20] Speaker D: What if this dragon just retired to the lost lands? Like, a sad farmer dragon that just, like, waiting to die?
[00:24:31] Speaker A: He was like, I was tired of.
[00:24:32] Speaker D: The cold, and now he's like, yeah, guys, I froze a roll already. What are you gonna do about it? Kill me? Sure, go ahead.
[00:24:38] Speaker B: Bring a daddy.
[00:24:39] Speaker D: Dad.
[00:24:44] Speaker B: Which one did I click on?
[00:24:46] Speaker A: You clicked on that.
[00:24:49] Speaker B: Either. Okay, you guys are flying the leaf, and I'll describe what you see in just a second. Maybe I'll just go with the classic.
No, this is. But see, this is too calm. I need it in the middle.
Hmm. Give me a second. This is always such a loud song, though. I'll go with this one.
What you all see in the very distance. I'm gonna turn Kenku down a little bit. Is a bizarre landscape.
Boz, you've seen this before.
You're back in the distance. Is Tim dot Panop or dimdap? Dimda.
No, but it's run together in pixie seven, so it's, um, dimda punup. But, uh, you see the wild land of dim dab phnom in the distance, and you all see a landmass, and very much it is a landmass, but it does not look like an island. It is what's going on up there. What you all see as you get closer and closer and closer is revealing itself. In the distance, you see almost no green. There's a huge amalgam of stone piercing up out of the ocean and coming toward a sharp peak, but not in its middle, just off to the right side, like a mountain growing up out of the ocean, but very importantly, not pointed up vertically, slanted heavily to the west, as if the whole central mountain of the island is leaning and sort of depressed inward at the top and down on the side, too, so that it has this uneven, like, parabolic shape. And the top of the mountain is like a caldera, but busted inward with a vague shape. And all sorts of the topographies vary and unalign strangely and in harsh directions. There are cliffs in the island that just cut suddenly into valleys and then disappear into other spaces. And you get the feeling that the topography might be more complicated closer in. The whole island look harsh, and there are shocks of green in places, but very, very sparingly. The island is a series of dark browns and light grays and twisted colors. The ocean pulls up to it at edges, and the water breaks harshly on far shores of rocks, smashing into them. Except that some places where the water crashes into the island, the waves spray up and then keep moving upward. And toward the right side of the island, there is a vast, sort of, like, twinkling sort of rainbow foam moving upward like a. Like a quarter mile waterfall spraying upward into the air, where from there it proceeds to precipitate down onto the island. And on another part of the island, you can see vague dots of things rising and twisting in the distance. This landmass is bizarre and disturbing to see. The leaf is flying toward it. Greta cannot make up my mind.
[00:27:50] Speaker D: Greta.
[00:27:50] Speaker B: Real quick. Greta. I'm sorry, Zach. You could do it. Live your dreams.
We're gonna go with this one.
[00:27:56] Speaker D: Do you pinky promise not to tell anybody about these places?
But I have a deal. If you do that, I will give you this, and I pull out.
[00:28:07] Speaker C: You don't have to bribe me.
[00:28:10] Speaker D: That my family has passed down for generations that we never open. And I say, I will give you this, and you can open it. You just can't tell me what it is, because that's a family thing. I can't know. Please trade.
[00:28:25] Speaker A: Can you tell me what it is.
[00:28:29] Speaker D: Sure.
The letter has, like, a wax seal on it.
Has, like, symbols that you can't recognize. Zachary, correct me if I'm wrong. I'm trying to describe it from right, and it's like old parts.
[00:28:46] Speaker B: It's a cracked vellum with a deep purple, red, melted wax symbol on the front of it with an insignia so old it's kind of worn away to nothing but rough shapes.
[00:28:57] Speaker A: Don't have a spell that can open things without me touching it.
[00:29:01] Speaker B: Girl, I ain't know.
[00:29:02] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:29:03] Speaker B: Flying on a leaf toward a wild, twisted island.
[00:29:06] Speaker A: I know.
[00:29:07] Speaker D: It seals it. It seals it. Like, if we do it, if we agree, and we both agree to give up something, then it feels real to me. It feels like it'll take away my anxiety.
[00:29:19] Speaker C: Okay.
Yeah. Um. You know, you don't.
I hope that you trust me that if I do, you know, I wouldn't.
[00:29:29] Speaker D: I trust you.
[00:29:30] Speaker C: You don't want me to.
[00:29:31] Speaker D: I trust you.
[00:29:36] Speaker C: Okay. You want me to take your.
[00:29:43] Speaker D: What? I can't hear you.
[00:29:44] Speaker B: You.
[00:29:47] Speaker C: Want me to take your.
[00:29:48] Speaker D: No. It's just like a secret. So I thought maybe you would like it, like, if I gave you a secret, maybe you could keep a secret. It's like a. I don't know. It feels fayish. I don't know.
[00:29:59] Speaker C: You let me play with.
[00:30:03] Speaker D: The. What?
[00:30:05] Speaker C: Dragonfly.
[00:30:06] Speaker B: Abby. We get about 3 seconds of your audio, and then it cuts. And then 3 seconds of audio and it cuts. And 3 seconds of audio, and it cuts. But I think Abby said, let me play with your mechanical dragonfly when we come back. Back and we'll call it even. Yeah.
[00:30:17] Speaker D: Okay. Are you sure?
[00:30:19] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:30:20] Speaker B: All right.
[00:30:20] Speaker D: I put the envelope back in my pocket, and I'm a little relieved.
Cause I feel like.
[00:30:27] Speaker A: Oh, go ahead. I'm sorry.
I was just gonna.
[00:30:32] Speaker B: So the leaf moves closer toward.
[00:30:34] Speaker A: Okay, I was just gonna say during their conversation, I feel like I would have. While they're having this conversation, Ro takes over steering is all I was saying.
[00:30:42] Speaker B: Yeah. And I assume it's the sort of thing where Greta's steering and she's like, well, bons, I hope you can trust me. She takes her hands off the. And you're like.
[00:30:51] Speaker A: So Roe just kind of slowly takes over. How far away are we? Like, how far as you all bend.
[00:30:57] Speaker B: Within five or 600ft of the island. Oh, that's crazy. So, baas, plenty of what you remember. This island is very large, miles across, but it is just this strange. The stone on the island does not match. It's covered in non linear, atypical striations with no symmetry. Bands of huge. And I don't mean like lines of stone like you'd see walking down a riverbed. I mean there are swathes of the island that are dark brown stone, others that are a light gray, others that are like a sandstone. Almost one side of the, of the wall is this giant like curved rock incline at the edge of the island. Like the southeastern edge that comes. That raises up for like almost a mile into a bowl like one half of a caldera. But it's only on that side of the island. Like an immense wave of magma blew up on the side and was hardened halfway through. Rising the island is bizarre. Like a bunch of landscapes just crashed together. And as you all fly over it, you can see that wall of ocean water rising up like it's being pulled up. And then as it reaches a certain height it's like it no longer rises. And it is raining down on like a mile section of the island. But it's raining salt water from the ocean rather than fresh water. And you can see bands of dead trees running along one huge strip of the mountain peak. You can see water flowing down one side of the mountain but it's like that's not water. What is that? It's like iridescent. And the entire island you can see cave hole networks in the ground. And somewhere off in the distance you just hear a huge crack of stone from somewhere you can't see. This island is just rocking forces of wild madness. But you've been flying with nonstop for more than a day. And this is a destination stop along the journey if you choose to lower. Your rations are getting low and.
[00:33:02] Speaker D: We.
[00:33:03] Speaker B: See some dead ones.
[00:33:04] Speaker A: Is no life plan.
[00:33:07] Speaker B: So many questions at once. You see shocks of green places. So you might be able to land and find some, some living plants some places.
What'd you ask, boss?
[00:33:16] Speaker D: I thought we had a week of rations. Have we gone to sleep and woken up seven times?
[00:33:20] Speaker B: Oh girl I ain't.
You've done it four times. So never mind. You have three days of rations. And the DM is a silly DM. Boy. Who's wrong, Jackie?
[00:33:31] Speaker A: I had two questions. One was as I'm flying this, does there look like a good place to land? Because this is a scary place. And I guess I should have asked the other question before that because my question was can I do like a check to know? Like I guess my. Because of what they had kind of said about this place.
This particular one is like I don't know if it would be like a nature or a conjecture to know, like, how much of this is, like, natural and how much of it is kind of magical. And the other thing is, like, does it look like it changes?
[00:34:09] Speaker B: Like, yeah, give me an Arcana check.
[00:34:12] Speaker A: Yeah. Like, is this rock gonna. Is that mountain over there gonna move places? Like, I don't know.
[00:34:17] Speaker B: Do me an Arcana check.
[00:34:21] Speaker A: Oh, no.
[00:34:22] Speaker B: It's magical, and it changes. All right, well, what'd you get? Did you get above a two?
[00:34:28] Speaker A: I got a. Not one.
[00:34:29] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:34:30] Speaker A: My luck ran out from last time.
[00:34:32] Speaker B: Ro, you look down at. You look down at the island with lifting, stone cracking landscape composed of impossibly different materials. As you watch, sections of the mountain break and slide where flaws of physics are undone and unbound, and you just go, I mean, it could be nature. I'm not sure. And you go, I feel like Magic's involved, but maybe it'll stay the same, and you just don't know. The rest of the party looks at the landscape, and all at once, a wave of realization comes to you as you go, wow, this is a magical landscape that must constantly be changing. But, ro, you specifically are not sure afterward you want to perception check to try and find a place to land.
[00:35:11] Speaker D: Let's go check it out. Maybe we can find more cool and open letters. We could, like, start, like, a mail service or we, like, deliver letters and stuff.
[00:35:18] Speaker A: Wait, is that where you found the letter?
[00:35:20] Speaker D: Yeah.
Great great great great grandfather found it. Here.
[00:35:26] Speaker A: Perception check.
[00:35:28] Speaker B: What'd you get?
[00:35:29] Speaker A: Is an 18.
[00:35:33] Speaker B: There's a very large strip of the landscape where, like, the. The largest central mountain, which is more than, like, a mile across. And again, mountain is a strange word. Maybe it's a giant butte or cliff. It's such a strange structure where it dips down into the valley. There's this, like, another, like, a sort of bowl. And valley is formed, but not one that's a singular shape. It's, like, slanted at a 60 degree incline, and it's just, like two. The broken bow between two mountains, and it crumbles down into a huge cleft, breaking down into this sort of, like, conical valley at a center of one of the islands. Many varying topographies. And you can see that. I mean, the ground looks somewhat stable there, and you could possibly land.
[00:36:13] Speaker A: Okay, can we see, like, the whole island from real big? Okay.
[00:36:22] Speaker B: I mean, if you flew up maybe to the height of about a mile in the sky, you could see. If you could try and see the whole thing. But it's miles.
[00:36:28] Speaker A: I don't want to. I just didn't know how much we're seeing of it.
You're taking it.
[00:36:34] Speaker B: Okay. Boz, attempt to wrestle the controls from Roy.
[00:36:37] Speaker A: Gus.
[00:36:38] Speaker B: Yes. Can you get an opposed dexterity check?
[00:36:41] Speaker D: Yes.
[00:36:41] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:36:42] Speaker B: Okay. So ro, you are flying quietly, observing the landscape. Could I get opposed dexterity checks from y'all?
Well, you can talk about it the moment after Boz takes a sudden physical action. So dexterity check and oppose dexterity check or strength check if you want row.
[00:36:57] Speaker D: Definitely not say our results at the same time.
[00:37:02] Speaker A: Sure.
[00:37:03] Speaker B: Three.
[00:37:04] Speaker D: 2120 13.
[00:37:07] Speaker B: Okay, so ro, you're flying the leaf and Boz is just sitting near you and he doesn't say anything, he just suddenly leans forward, he just grabs the stem and you like grab at it and from your hands and just pushes the leaf down and like telegrams on and goes, oh, okay, that was a.
[00:37:23] Speaker A: Wild thing to do.
[00:37:24] Speaker B: And Craig goes off and telegram, and the leaf is just gliding down rapidly toward the surface.
[00:37:33] Speaker D: Okay, I am searching for anywhere that's not exploding to land.
[00:37:37] Speaker B: I mean, the landscape is stable in many locations. And eventually the leaf slides onto the stone, much of which crumbles and gives way.
It was a smooth stone surface, but as the leaf lands, it just fractures, it fractures brittly like shale.
And the leaf just slides on it for about 50 or 40ft. The stone, man, I wish. The stone is here to make a stone check. And Craig is on the leaf and he goes, whoa, I bet I don't have player stats right now. And the leaf grinds on the stone surface and slides to a stop, and you guys have landed on bim Dapan up.
[00:38:18] Speaker A: Rose says bulls. That was a little uncalled for. You could have just asked for the controls, you know, next time. And also, do you know, are there any inhabitants of this island?
[00:38:29] Speaker D: I don't know, I've never seen any. I don't think anybody would want to live here.
[00:38:34] Speaker A: Are there animals?
[00:38:37] Speaker D: Sometimes for temporarily.
[00:38:39] Speaker C: Vaj, have you been here before?
[00:38:41] Speaker B: Yeah.
Found what the need? Yes, Boz said that he found all his items here.
[00:38:49] Speaker D: Oh, I found him here and come.
[00:38:52] Speaker B: Every once in a while to see.
[00:38:52] Speaker D: If there's any bees hanging out, because sometimes they bubble on over here.
[00:38:58] Speaker B: Or.
[00:38:58] Speaker D: Sometimes new hives pop up. Like we come here and we find new hives and we bring them back to the mainland.
[00:39:05] Speaker C: Did you find the dragonfly here?
[00:39:08] Speaker D: Yes, I did.
[00:39:11] Speaker C: Greta starts when, when you confirm that, she starts like, um.
Oh, okay, cool, cool. And like, as soon as she realizes that, as soon as she feels like the appropriate time of the light, I'm gonna try and talk so that my green square is always lining up.
[00:39:29] Speaker B: Yeah, when you're close to the laptop, it's a totally works.
[00:39:31] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:39:32] Speaker B: Are you not able to move it closer to you?
[00:39:36] Speaker C: Well, so as soon as she realizes that the, like, polite time for listening has ended, like.
Like, she, like, drops her head to the ground and starts, like, almost like, imagine like a dog, but, like, standing, but she is, like, bending. Like, comes over to old lady mode, digging her little finger through the shale and just, like, walking around and exploring the.
[00:40:06] Speaker B: Okay, so as Greta takes, like, Gremlin.
[00:40:11] Speaker C: She's in her.
She's looking, she's hunting.
[00:40:15] Speaker B: As Greta takes a feral, mammalistic action that is for somehow old lady like. Could you make me an investigation check?
This is getting incredibly high, DC. Cause you're just on a landscape suddenly looking for items. But hit me with it.
Greta has gotten down on all fours and is just crawling around the broken shell landscape.
[00:40:40] Speaker A: I don't know what's going on with this party that's grow under her breath.
[00:40:44] Speaker C: Gonna use my inspiration since I haven't.
[00:40:47] Speaker B: Sure. I bet that's okay. So, Bozeman, you're just, like, following her around and leaning over and tapping her. Greta, come on, you can fight it. Come on, Greta. Greta.
[00:41:00] Speaker C: He's 17.
[00:41:04] Speaker B: Greta. You search and you search and you search.
Appears to be a lot of stones. It looks like. It looks like this island is not so rife with materials that you can find them every couple hundred feet, but there might be some, some places.
[00:41:17] Speaker A: What does it smell like here? I want the smell. Ro goes.
[00:41:24] Speaker B: Give me a perception check.
[00:41:26] Speaker A: A smell check.
[00:41:28] Speaker B: Smell check.
[00:41:30] Speaker A: Oh, we're back. Why did my thing unfocus? We're back, baby. With a 25. Smell check.
[00:41:40] Speaker B: Somehow this feels very in honor of Micah, even though she's not here.
[00:41:44] Speaker A: Hey, I didn't stick the rock in my mouth.
[00:41:47] Speaker B: That's true, actually. Small check. Feels very myga ro. Is you around the landscape that is in a sale of different scents. There is a very basic, and I mean basic in the sense of, like, ph. There's a very basic alkaline, dry, mineralistic scent, like a far more potent chalk mixed in with an earthier scent, which makes sense. Great array of rock often being broken. Many of those small fragments thrown up into the air. You smell a very briny scent, which makes sense because I'm a couple thousand feet away from you. It's raining seawater, and you smell a charred odor, faintly like some sort of a far smoke, long, dismal, and gone. You also smell a more intense acrid sharp odor that you can't identify a lot. A very complex and uncomfortably juxtaposing land. A smellscape plays weird. Got a lot going on.
[00:42:53] Speaker A: We're like walking around. I don't know.
[00:42:56] Speaker B: No one's really describing any actions for me other than Greta. Full bloodhounding it.
[00:43:00] Speaker A: I've stepped off and I'm like walking around, but I'm being careful. Like, does the ground feel like everywhere.
[00:43:08] Speaker B: You were walking on this section of the island?
Everyone except for Ro and Greta is breaking the shale they're stepping on. So as they step, all the landscape is breaking under your feet. And Craig has to be righted a couple times by Tello as he starts to slip on the shale as it sort of inclines or declines down the valley. Scape a 60 degree incline downward. Oh, yes. Spas.
[00:43:35] Speaker D: When we land, I do fold up the leaf and I carry it with me. Or, and I ask if Greta can put it in her cloak of holding.
[00:43:42] Speaker B: It is too large for the cloak.
[00:43:47] Speaker C: What is it? The behind?
[00:43:49] Speaker B: No, the leaf. The eight by eight leaf when rolled up is two. She has no pocket that's 8ft in one dimension. Now, Boz, when you roll it up tightly, you can sort of stick it in between your pack and your back.
And also let it be known that from now on, unless you otherwise specify, I will assume that when you land, you roll up the leaf and put it behind you because that'd be crazy if you didn't.
But thank you for specifying.
Wow, that was a cool magic item. Anyway, boss finds a Glock and he's like, ah, so yes, you have it, Boz. And it can be slid behind your, between your pack and your back, which is very audibly pleasant. But it's a water cat.
So you guys are walking around the landscape. Now, Ro and Greta are not heavy enough to break the stone where they walk, but Craig very much is. And tell one, Boz, are a little bit though, you guys are kind of maintaining your graces walk. And we're just going to say that Craig permanently has the help action from Teller, who's just decided he needs to be helping him around this landscape. So do you guys head anywhere particular in this valley or where are you going? What's the plan? Head toward a landmark. Is there anything particular you're looking for, Zach?
[00:45:04] Speaker D: I'm trying to make sense of what you said, how it doesn't fit in Greta's pack. If we fold the leaf in half, it would be eight by four. And then if we folded it again, it would be four by four, right. I can't imagine it's being.
[00:45:16] Speaker B: It's very hard to fold it as you roll it up tightly. I mean, it's not a carpet. It. It has rigidity to it.
It's like a giant, heavy leather leaf. So you can. You can roll it, and it's challenging in one direction, but folding it would be very difficult. So it's. It's always, like, kind of almost.
I mean, you can roll it, but it's not as flexible as an actual carpet. I mean, we're saying that mechanically, that's how it works, but it is very much like a green leaf. So you have to put in a lot of work to roll it. Now, again, if you just stick it in between your pack and back, you can carry it. So it's kind of like you got a big green antenna coming up behind you, but, I mean, you know, it's not. It's not like you can't carry it.
[00:46:05] Speaker D: Sure, sure. I was just trying to rationalize my mind. No, you're making me.
[00:46:08] Speaker B: Full. Valid question. A valid question.
[00:46:11] Speaker D: Hey, guys, let's head towards some of the stranger stuff in the island.
[00:46:15] Speaker A: I. Hey, boss.
[00:46:16] Speaker D: Um, yeah.
[00:46:18] Speaker A: Should we, like. Because this is kind of, like, a little spooky. Should I.
Should we check it out a different way first? Like, what do you mean?
Ro summons favorite.
[00:46:35] Speaker B: Okay.
Favorite just appears, and as he lands, there's, like, a little, like. And a tail flick, and then a sound happens, and his eyes get big, his pupils dilate, and he looks around at the ravaging landscape, and he puts his ears back and gives you a very untrusting expression.
[00:46:52] Speaker A: It says, when he's within 100ft of me, I can communicate with them telepathically. Does that mean, like, can we actually talk? Like, if you want to conversation in our heads?
[00:47:04] Speaker B: I mean, the idea behind a familiar is you can just send commands, but I'm fully fine with this roleplay. You're very magical with animals.
[00:47:11] Speaker A: Okay. I just wanted to, because I thought I would do where I can, like, see through his eyes.
[00:47:19] Speaker B: You can just do the action. You don't have to ask me permission.
[00:47:23] Speaker A: Okay, so Rosen's favorite. Kind of down towards where Baaz was kind of heading, just to, like, check it out.
And when she does that, she. She's. She cannot see.
[00:47:41] Speaker B: And to be clear, you're in a whole big, like, valley crushed between two mountains. So you transfer into Faber's vision, and he's, like, walking around nervously. Very not in the peaceful agba he just was before. And it's the very ginger tight and low. His tail is flicking, but he's walking very gingerly around the stone. It's not stepping under his feet. And as you look through his eyes, your senses kind of sharpen a little bit. And I mean, you very much see the landscape as ro did. You've got hundreds, if not a couple thousand feet in any direction before things topographically change. But you are looking through his eyes as he gingerly trods the landscape.
[00:48:17] Speaker A: Okay, does anything seem like.
Like dangerous within 100ft of us, like going up this path or.
[00:48:28] Speaker B: You gather looking through favorite. Not that this isn't an effective solution for other times. You gather looking like if you're standing on a football field and a cat's standing on a football field. If you see through the cat's vision from one end of the football field, you're still seeing the end of the football field. So, like, in a tight corridor around a corner or in the dark, it might be really useful. But he's just seeing what you're seeing during the day.
[00:48:48] Speaker D: Okay, Zachary, where did I previously find my little trinkets at? Like.
[00:48:55] Speaker B: Sort of like a couple miles east.
When you were here last, there was this. There was like this.
It looked like kind of like a mountain slide or a rock slide on one side of this, like, uneven broken hill, cliff face on sort of further west on the island. I said east, but further west on the island.
And at the bottom of that rock slide, there were just a bunch of random objects gathered and just sort of smattered among the stones. So somewhere far that way, you found it.
[00:49:29] Speaker D: Got it. Got it. How fast does the carpet fly?
Speed?
[00:49:35] Speaker B: Well, we should really define this. I'll say the carpet has three gears and I would really appreciate it if someone wrote this down. So we'll say that the slow speed for the carpet, and I think Jackie's already on it. We'll say that the slow speed for the carpet is 10ft a turn.
And then we'll say the medium speed for the carpet is 20ft a turn.
And then we'll say the fastest speed for the carpet is 40ft a turn.
Now, it has a little dial on the right side of the leaf that has nos on it, so if you connect a nitrous tank, it could go faster, but otherwise it's the three speeds.
[00:50:23] Speaker A: Ro comes back too, and she leaves Faber out. But Faber's just hissing.
[00:50:31] Speaker B: His tail flicking around. Looks so pissed.
[00:50:37] Speaker D: You say turn around, he's walking along with you, huh?
[00:50:42] Speaker B: Sorry.
[00:50:43] Speaker D: Its fastest speed is about 4.5 mph.
[00:50:50] Speaker B: Is that 40ft every 6 seconds.
[00:50:52] Speaker D: That's 400ft every minute.
[00:50:57] Speaker B: I trust your mathematic. So, yeah, I mean, a 4.5 miles, I guess. I don't know, the feet per. It's 40ft per six second is its quickest speed, so. Got it.
It's not an exceptionally fast vehicle, but it can fly, so that's the main thing. It does, yeah.
[00:51:16] Speaker D: No, I'm just trying to make sure we establish it. Like that's.
[00:51:18] Speaker B: That's what you have and I'm sorry, I didn't mean that sassy. I just mean like, that's, you know, it's not a super fast vehicle. It just flies.
[00:51:23] Speaker D: Oh, it makes sense. You can fly. You know, once you get the nitrous hooked on, it might probably go faster.
[00:51:32] Speaker B: But the thing is this, like this guy with this in like this accent you can't pin down. This really buff bald guy comes with it. So it's this. He just keeps talking about family. So it's like a pro and a con.
[00:51:50] Speaker A: Does the landscape look, look the same as it did last time?
[00:51:54] Speaker D: It looks very different.
[00:51:56] Speaker A: Cool. Love that. Like.
[00:51:58] Speaker C: But does it look like, is it.
[00:51:59] Speaker D: Just different landscape or are you worried about going? Because, like, I don't know if this is a place that we can understand before we start going.
[00:52:08] Speaker A: I guess so. I just like to understand things and it really freaks me out when I don't understand things.
[00:52:14] Speaker D: Hey, if you get Swiss the way to the feywild, I'll try to come get you if I can figure it out.
[00:52:20] Speaker C: Is that a risk, boss?
[00:52:22] Speaker B: As you guys are talking, ro, you notice first with your incredibly high passive perception. Greta, you and Boz, soon after, there's this sort of like dull brown moving movement on the edge of your periphery as everyone slowly turns to look at it. You guys watch as a very large, like really big, maybe 40, 50ft long, uneven, sort of like long bow of wood, like a very sun bleached light white. Is floating like a couple, like four or 500ft below you at the bottom of the strange incline. And it looks like a half of a splintered tree with a very tall trunk, like an old pine that's been sun bleached for a very long time, is just gently floating and rotating over the stone.
[00:53:15] Speaker C: It's floating below.
[00:53:17] Speaker B: So you guys, mountain over here, big hillock over here of stone, more island down, decline in between the two, maybe four or 500ft below, floating maybe 30ft off the ground. Just further down that decline is a giant, like half of a tree, sun bleached, just gently rotating. Maybe moving at, like, half a mile an hour, just floating 30ft off the ground.
[00:53:43] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:53:46] Speaker B: Also, I'm just gonna let you know, if we get lost in the speeds on this session is. I'm just giving numbers.
[00:53:52] Speaker D: That was a joke. That was. That was right.
[00:53:54] Speaker B: I just meant as a. In a larger sense. We've already had a lot of velocity talk. I'm just letting you know I'm picking speeds. The only one really mattered for the carpet of.
[00:54:04] Speaker D: I say we walk down, okay. And see if we can find any cool geese treasures. I got a blanket tomb it slot. And I'm trying to find something. Okay. I'm trying to find something to take with me. All right?
[00:54:17] Speaker A: Okay. Yeah, yeah. As long as you think it's safe.
[00:54:21] Speaker D: I just don't think it's very dangerous, and you're probably gonna get hurt.
Yeah.
[00:54:32] Speaker B: So Abby said, that's too much for me.
[00:54:35] Speaker D: Abby's gone.
[00:54:36] Speaker A: She said she couldn't hear. She was leaving again.
[00:54:40] Speaker D: So I. Vaz starts walking down the hill.
[00:54:44] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:54:46] Speaker D: Towards the bottom of the hill.
[00:54:48] Speaker A: I follow with faber really close by my leg.
[00:54:51] Speaker B: Excellent. So as you guys travel down that hill.
Monte Brigado, monsignor, baby. Look how close the two cats are to each other. Just fine. This is gonna work out. But where you guys walk down the hill, the stone continues to fracture beneath your feet again, except for Greta and Ro, who are too light for it. And as you guys are walking, the stone fragments are breaking and just tumbling down the hillscape. Are they floating? And you can see now that, like, further down, the densities of them increases greatly and starts to form these. Could somebody give me a survival check? We'll say as you guys travel downward, two people can make it, if you.
[00:55:35] Speaker D: Like, about a 25.
[00:55:38] Speaker B: Holy actual crap.
Would you get raw?
She's doing mathematic. What'd you get wrong?
[00:55:47] Speaker A: No, no, I'm not doing math. I got an at one.
[00:55:50] Speaker B: Okay, Boz.
[00:55:52] Speaker A: Which would be a five.
[00:55:53] Speaker B: Okay. So it's very safe to walk right now, but rock fragments here quite a bit. And another, another half thousand feet down, like. Like, the landscape is increasingly becoming like, kind of like a slate, like gravel. And walking further down here, it's gonna get very precarious as. Because more and more loose rock is piling and what looks like solid ground is going to rapidly become disintegrating, uneven floor and row. So many noises and smells.
So you guys are perceiving that as you're walking further down.
[00:56:30] Speaker A: Cool.
[00:56:34] Speaker B: Also, you guys just keep role playing. If I'm constantly walking into way, it's because I'm managing a kitten, so I feel yabby.
Okay, so the party's there. Do they continue walking downward?
[00:56:51] Speaker D: Yeah, I. How many of us are there?
[00:56:53] Speaker B: There's.
[00:56:54] Speaker D: There's four. There's four.
[00:56:55] Speaker B: Party. There are five fun guys. Yeah.
[00:56:58] Speaker D: Or ntello. Okay. Um, I'm doing math right now. I'm sorry.
[00:57:04] Speaker B: Does any.
[00:57:04] Speaker D: Can anybody else cast freedom of movement, or is it just me?
[00:57:09] Speaker A: I don't have that.
[00:57:10] Speaker D: Let me check if you have to have it prepared, but if you don't, um, it just makes it to where difficult terrain is no big deal for us.
[00:57:28] Speaker A: I could make us all into spiders balls.
[00:57:32] Speaker C: I don't have that.
[00:57:33] Speaker D: All right. Who would like to not struggle?
[00:57:40] Speaker A: Well, me and Greta seem to be fine, as ro kind of bounces a little bit on the.
[00:57:46] Speaker D: I would not do that if I were you.
[00:57:49] Speaker A: Okay, well, it's not.
[00:57:50] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:57:51] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:57:52] Speaker D: You see how it's turning to gravel? If you basically will get.
[00:57:55] Speaker A: Well, it's not turning into gravel under me.
[00:57:58] Speaker D: That's cause you're not all the way down yet.
[00:58:00] Speaker A: Oh.
[00:58:01] Speaker D: Um.
[00:58:03] Speaker A: If I need to, I'll turn into a bat.
[00:58:06] Speaker B: Can somebody roll a d 100 for me?
[00:58:10] Speaker D: We'll do it. Cause I want to also.
[00:58:12] Speaker B: Boz, can you give me a history check after you're done with that?
[00:58:15] Speaker D: I got an 86.
[00:58:17] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:58:19] Speaker D: And history check. That is a 19 plus. Oh, my gosh. Zachary.
[00:58:24] Speaker B: Crap.
[00:58:25] Speaker D: 19 plus one, I believe, is my history modifier.
[00:58:28] Speaker B: Yeah, that's why.
[00:58:30] Speaker D: It's because I'm in my zone, man. I don't know what to tell you. I'm in my zone.
[00:58:34] Speaker A: You got a 90. Zack and Landon got an 86.
[00:58:39] Speaker D: That's, like, the fifth time I've done that. Zachary, I'm not gonna lie. We are on different magnetic lengths. Same magnum.
[00:58:46] Speaker B: So, what did you. What did you get on your history roll? Sorry, boss.
[00:58:49] Speaker D: Unnatural 20 natural 20. For a total of unnatural 20 unnatural.
[00:58:55] Speaker B: I'm so sorry. Forgive me. I have been very stinky. Silly. Yeah. So, before I say what I'm gonna say next. Pause. You're very aware it was a low DC. It was like a DC ten. The further you get out from agba, the further the islands are away from agba, the more the magic that suffuses the landscape is not oriented. And the lost lands are hyper magical agba roots and orients their magic.
So the further away from Agba you get, the more magic becomes wild.
I'll say that. That's just a thing you remember. Okay. Completely separately, you guys are walking down the shale landscape, and from far away. You guys hear.
And boz, you know that sound? Well, it can sound different and it can look different, but that is a, you wouldn't necessarily have the language for this because you have a druidic focus, a less arcane focus, but there's some sort of a dimensional fissure somewhere nearby. And so as you guys, as you guys follow the sound just auditorily, immediately, you guys look kind of like northeast, kind of back where you came from a little bit. And you guys watch as the air just tears. Apartheid, just this.
And the space above you just rips a little bit. The air pulls apart and there's this thin green tear in the air, and all of a sudden you guys hear, and then the energy pulls back together and the sky in that area reforms before anything happens. And this is about 900ft back from you guys. Before anything else happens. Could somebody give me a sciences check? Anyone? Anyone with an intelligence modifier? Cause I know no one here is proficient. Anyone with an intelligence modifier above three can give me a sciences check if.
[01:00:49] Speaker A: They like, I can do it.
[01:00:51] Speaker D: No, I don't got that. I'm a plus one in intelligence. I'm dumb.
[01:00:54] Speaker A: I got a 19.
[01:00:58] Speaker B: That's a good time. You have 19.
Of course, you do not have a focus this scientific, but you know what the movement of wind sounds like? Or really high pressurized gas.
If this place connects portals from other realms, a bunch of gas just bled in from a different place somewhere else, way back from you guys. And you heard that as you recognize that. Greta, could you roll me a D 100?
[01:01:28] Speaker C: Yes.
[01:01:30] Speaker A: So it's like I've already rolled.
[01:01:31] Speaker B: I got a 49.
[01:01:32] Speaker A: It's like Craig just farted a bunch of gas.
Did we see something come out of it?
[01:01:46] Speaker B: No.
[01:01:47] Speaker A: Oh, okay.
[01:01:48] Speaker B: But with the sciences check that high, you're aware that oftentime different kinds of winds, we'll call them, or you could be familiar with the term gas, are not always colored. In fact, the vast majority of the time, they're not visible.
[01:02:02] Speaker D: Is it mustard?
[01:02:05] Speaker B: That would be a truly insidious thing for a DM to do. Unfathomably cruel.
[01:02:11] Speaker A: The island is covered in mustard.
[01:02:14] Speaker B: Honestly, a monster.
What'd you get?
[01:02:18] Speaker C: A 94.
[01:02:19] Speaker B: It's way above me. Okay, so the gas. The gas.
And Greta ro describes the thing about it's like Craig farted from another dimension or something.
A moment later, the wind sort of by you guys, and where you're frozen on the mountain, you each taking a sharp breath and you feel very suddenly lightheaded for a moment.
We feel lightheaded whatever that is, is past. And you're still. You're still frozen. I mean, you're frozen on the landscape where you were. Nothing has changed. You're still very much in this moment. Things are just happening on this aisle.
Could one of you guys roll me a d? Four?
[01:03:02] Speaker D: Yeah.
[01:03:03] Speaker B: Can I do it?
Whoever grabs it first, this, let me tell you, this island is gonna have all the rolls. So people just. Just be like me and do it. Three. Okay, got it.
Anywho, what's the party going?
[01:03:22] Speaker A: Should we go back? Should we go back towards that or so.
[01:03:26] Speaker B: Ro does not say that. Oh, Ro says, should we go back to where we came from? And Ro's voice is, like, two or three octaves higher than it usually is.
That clips are my card.
[01:03:47] Speaker A: Shame I did it in the hype.
[01:03:50] Speaker B: Okay, try making it just slightly higher. Can we still hear you?
[01:03:54] Speaker A: Can it?
[01:03:56] Speaker B: Okay. Or not.
[01:03:57] Speaker A: Should we. Should we go back towards that?
[01:04:01] Speaker B: And Rose voice is higher. Funny, but that's not what boss sounds like. Boss sounds higher than his usual voice.
[01:04:07] Speaker D: Boss, you sound kind of funny.
Yeah, we just came.
[01:04:18] Speaker B: You're not gonna be able to talk at a different volume, given your mic.
I'm sorry.
And Craig just goes, oh, guys, what's going on? Until he goes, this is our very weird.
Yeah, your mic can really not handle it. I'm very sorry. But imagine Greta's voice higher, and everybody's voice is gonna sound like this for the next 3 hours in game.
[01:04:43] Speaker D: I say we keep going down.
The only thing is, I think that we're helio.
I don't know what I mean. What spells do you guys have prepared? Prepare anything for, like, wilderness explorer. Like, difficult hiking, or, like, I always.
[01:05:03] Speaker A: Have the spells that I have. False.
[01:05:06] Speaker B: Okay, okay, again, I'm not gonna force you guys into this high volume bit. Only if it's fun. You can abandon it if you like.
[01:05:15] Speaker A: But, you know, um, should we go towards the.
[01:05:21] Speaker C: Sorry, boss, I don't have anything.
[01:05:22] Speaker A: The slit in the. In the atmosphere or in the air? Should we go towards that or away from it?
[01:05:28] Speaker D: It's 900ft away from us.
[01:05:31] Speaker A: You don't know that.
[01:05:35] Speaker B: And about a half mile west of you all, where the mountain, where the landscape slows downward, the ocean swells, and this, like, mile long spray of water just.
Just cuts across the landscape in this huge wall of water, and then just lands on the stone, starts rolling downward.
[01:06:03] Speaker A: Go ahead.
[01:06:04] Speaker C: No, go ahead.
[01:06:05] Speaker A: I was just gonna say. I asked faber telepathically if he'd like to go back home.
[01:06:09] Speaker B: For now, faber just turns around with you, and you can't see the irises of his eyes. Just blow. Black disc. His pupils are so dilated. His ears are so flat against your skull, they don't seem open. And his entire body is one giant puffball.
[01:06:23] Speaker A: Yeah. I send him back.
[01:06:27] Speaker D: How many people could fit on me as a brass dragon?
[01:06:30] Speaker B: Warbling ory, buddy, everybody's gonna be real snug but rebuddy.
[01:06:35] Speaker D: All right? Y'all just wanna hop on me and just kind of fly around a little bit.
[01:06:42] Speaker A: We can, but, I mean, what if you fly into one of the pockets when it opens?
[01:06:48] Speaker B: Ro was the only one affected by the voice.
[01:06:51] Speaker D: We could stand right here and just hang out. I'll make a little picnic.
[01:06:55] Speaker B: Oh, my gosh.
[01:06:56] Speaker D: Does anybody want to do a campfire? We could, like, just make camp right here and tell stories.
[01:07:02] Speaker A: We could just fly around on the. On the magic carpet.
[01:07:06] Speaker B: It is true.
[01:07:07] Speaker D: It moves as slow as Craig trying to go to marriage counseling.
[01:07:12] Speaker B: So Craig goes.
[01:07:14] Speaker A: Boss, that was really hurtful.
[01:07:21] Speaker D: No, it is not safe to be here.
It is very dangerous.
[01:07:27] Speaker C: Okay.
[01:07:28] Speaker D: But it's so cool.
[01:07:30] Speaker C: Yes, it is.
[01:07:32] Speaker A: Whatever you think is safer. If the carpet or you riding on you.
[01:07:37] Speaker D: I don't know if this is too much. We can leave. We can go back.
[01:07:41] Speaker B: We can just keep role playing and talking.
[01:07:43] Speaker A: No, I like it. I'm just. I'm just trying to figure out the safest way to get around the island.
[01:07:50] Speaker C: What if we. What if we got on the flying leaf and landed in a different spot? Cuz it just maybe. Are there other better places that we could land? Boss?
[01:07:59] Speaker D: I don't know.
[01:08:00] Speaker A: Is there a beach around here somewhere?
[01:08:03] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:08:03] Speaker B: I'm just gonna go ahead and do the tiniest little bit of metagaming. There is not the sunny vista part of this aisle. It will be wild. Just letting. I'm just gonna. I'm just gonna save you guys all the time.
There's not a roped off area.
[01:08:17] Speaker A: How about we just jump on your back and you fly us to where you found the items last time?
[01:08:23] Speaker D: Okay. Or you go to the top of the caldera. I've never been there before.
[01:08:27] Speaker A: Whatever you want to do.
[01:08:28] Speaker B: Balls. That'd be cool.
[01:08:30] Speaker C: You think that there's items at the top of the caldera?
[01:08:33] Speaker D: I don't know.
[01:08:34] Speaker A: I've concerned about the items. Balls. I'm just a little bit worried about our safety.
[01:08:41] Speaker D: Well, I'm.
[01:08:43] Speaker C: I'm just thinking I really want to, uh, be safe.
[01:08:48] Speaker A: Souvenir.
[01:08:49] Speaker C: And also what the item.
[01:08:54] Speaker D: Okay.
I don't. I don't know.
[01:09:04] Speaker B: But Buzz, where is the map of this entire island? Where are the directions?
[01:09:14] Speaker D: Whoever's coming's got to get on.
[01:09:18] Speaker A: It's wozzled.
[01:09:19] Speaker B: Cause Boz just puff of leaves, a whole brass dragon wormling and just when he talks, it's like whoever wants to get home and huge wings and holy crap, whole breast dragon.
[01:09:30] Speaker A: Higher. Is it a little bit higher?
[01:09:38] Speaker D: I go to where the last place I knew where they had the items is and I start flapping over there and I do 60ft. So that's 600ft.
[01:09:47] Speaker B: You're real fast, you guys. You're fast.
I think. I think you have, I mean, if you're dashing and you don't have to be full dashing, but if you're flying quick, you're at like 100ft around, you're ridiculously fast. So you guys all hop on. Boz, you got to be real squeezed together and boss, just now, Boz, oh, that's heavy with all four of them. But you got them. Especially Craig. But you're like flying across the stone landscape and could somebody else roll me a D 100?
[01:10:23] Speaker A: You want two? I have to do it.
[01:10:25] Speaker B: I'll roll. Okay. 94.
[01:10:29] Speaker A: I got a 64.
[01:10:30] Speaker B: Okay.
You continue to fly across the landscape and boz, you guys fly for a good ten or 15 minutes and then you pass over the section of broken hills where you were last time and the sort of like caved in section of like sort of cliff face you passed previously decades ago.
Well, that's not what it used to be. It's now like a giant sunken in Gauley, like a ravine that falls down 100ft into smash stone earth.
And it's filled with like a dark, black fluid with a slight iridescence to it. As you guys fly over.
[01:11:16] Speaker C: Is there.
[01:11:17] Speaker A: A way to get close to.
[01:11:20] Speaker B: Okay.
Braggin just crashes down into the stone next to it and you are next to this huge, like you have to kind of bank in between the steep rock slopes. And as you land on the stone nearby, there's just this giant, like slick sloped ravine of black fluid that lands into this thick center at the bottom. It looks like this. It looks like something just carved a scar into the landscape where the topography you used to know was. And now it's filled with this dense black fluid and it pools deeply at the bottom and it's like dark and black and iridescent swirls at the top.
[01:11:57] Speaker A: Can I do a nature check?
[01:11:59] Speaker B: Yes. Give me the highest DC nature check you've ever made.
[01:12:03] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:12:04] Speaker B: Um, wait, are you making a nature check for. Sorry, what are you making?
Yes. Give me the highest DC nature check you've ever made. No, I immediately take back what I said. Give me a moderately difficult nature check. I disagree with what I just said.
[01:12:22] Speaker A: Okay, how does a 25 do ya?
[01:12:28] Speaker B: Treats me pretty good.
Okay. You've never seen it like this, but from the sharp chemical smell, the lightheadedness it gives you, you recognize it. It's like a melted fat. This is some kind of an oil.
[01:12:43] Speaker A: Ah.
[01:12:44] Speaker C: Whoa.
[01:12:46] Speaker B: It's just smattering the landscape here. I could burn into this.
Boss says something.
[01:12:53] Speaker A: I relay what it. I say it's an oil.
[01:12:57] Speaker C: I know what an oil is like for lamp.
[01:13:01] Speaker B: I mean, you're aware of, like, an oil, like, used in foods or, like, melted in lamps. You've never seen it like this because none of you guys knows what crude oil is, but it's really sticky.
[01:13:11] Speaker C: I don't know.
[01:13:11] Speaker A: I go up, I put one finger ro.
[01:13:16] Speaker B: As you dip a finger in, it's not sticky like tar. It's like it's thick. Well, actually, I take that back. I'm sorry, Abby. It's a little sticky, but it's not like, dense like tar. But as you just put your finger to it, it has a lot of adhesion, and it's.
As you get close, your head is light. That is unpleasant. And it's very shiny and iridescent. Kind of reminds you. It's like very vaguely what old looked like in the far seed. But you do a sudden magic check and go. Yep, that's definitely not the same thing. Just a visual similarity and.
Yeah, don't know what that stuff is. Some kind of an oil.
[01:13:54] Speaker A: I press to digitate it.
[01:13:56] Speaker B: Okay, your fingers are cleaned.
[01:13:59] Speaker A: And I take a.
I take the flask I have that had water in it.
[01:14:07] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:14:07] Speaker A: And I pour the water out, and I put it in the flask.
[01:14:12] Speaker B: There's the glass. The flask just gets half covered in oil. Then you do a bunch of press digitating, and that side's clean. Then you recap it, and you can put a flask of crude oil in your inventory.
[01:14:26] Speaker A: This is gonna bring crude oil to Yalabrina.
[01:14:31] Speaker B: United States. Enters the chat loading somewhere in the distance, charges up.
[01:14:46] Speaker A: Someone needs to get this and sell it.
Okay.
[01:14:53] Speaker B: All right, you guys are there.
[01:14:56] Speaker D: All right, I'm gonna do a thing, and I cast, locate object.
[01:14:59] Speaker B: Okay. Boz described that for me.
[01:15:03] Speaker D: Oh, I can't do it as a dragon. I unwildshape from my dragon, form a bunch of.
[01:15:08] Speaker B: Now, spring leaves from Boz fall down as Agbo. Removed his colors.
[01:15:13] Speaker D: I say, all right, I know we're here for the goods and we're scared of the weird, so I will the goods. All right. Even though I wanted to see the weird a little bit, whatever.
I cast, locate, object, and I basically, I just go.
I, like, have like, a little, like, green orb pop out of my finger and I say, lost fae thing.
[01:15:44] Speaker B: Okay, Boz, as you say that, before you do anything else, could you roll me a d 100? Yes.
[01:15:54] Speaker C: Afraid of all these D 100s?
[01:15:56] Speaker D: No. I like it, though.
[01:15:58] Speaker B: This one's different.
[01:15:59] Speaker C: I do too.
[01:15:59] Speaker D: Oh, this is a 23.
[01:16:03] Speaker A: Oh, this probably determines casting magic does things here.
[01:16:07] Speaker D: That's what it is. Casting magic does.
[01:16:11] Speaker B: Guys, when I say I have a table of 100 possibilities, I have a table of 100 possibilities I've made.
Could you roll me a d eight plus one?
D eight.
[01:16:29] Speaker D: That is a seven plus one. That is an eight.
[01:16:32] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:16:32] Speaker A: Oh, wow.
[01:16:33] Speaker B: Pause. Waves his hand, speaks in deepest speech in this little green orbital. Appears in front of his fingers and just starts kind of like, trailing away from him, floating over the stone. Follow that orb, and Boz turns to you and moves his mouth.
Nothing comes out.
[01:16:56] Speaker A: I try to. Ro tries to talk.
[01:16:59] Speaker B: What do you say, ro?
[01:17:00] Speaker A: I say, boz, why can't you talk?
[01:17:04] Speaker B: Except, hi, you all hear come from Rosemouth. For some reason, the high voice is worn off. That was a funny bit for 5 seconds. And it's over.
It was three minutes, not 3 hours.
But, ro, you can talk. Everybody hears ro talk.
[01:17:19] Speaker C: Boss.
[01:17:21] Speaker D: Yeah, you just have to go. I start walking towards the orbit and.
[01:17:26] Speaker B: Then points at the orb. Boss, you're not hearing yourself. Either floating or I just say, come.
[01:17:31] Speaker D: On, like, it's okay. Like, don't worry about it. Let's just gotta follow the sword.
[01:17:37] Speaker C: I look at boss and I give him like a thumbs up. And I do, like, a question mark.
[01:17:41] Speaker B: Huh huh. Tello gives a concerned look to Craig. Craig turns around with a rock sticking out of his mouth.
[01:17:49] Speaker C: I follow the orb. I follow Boz.
[01:17:51] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:17:51] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:17:52] Speaker B: Everyone starts following the orb.
[01:17:54] Speaker A: And I gently try to take the rock out of Craig's. And I say, craig, you don't know what these rocks may do.
[01:18:01] Speaker B: It's like oil.
And as you guys start following the orb, the orb just coasts up the side of the rock face. And you guys flew to the bottom of, like, a hundred foot ravine and it just starts lifting itself up out of the side of the ravine.
[01:18:16] Speaker A: Okay, balls. And Ro is gonna polymorph into her bat form.
Tough.
[01:18:23] Speaker B: Describe that for me.
[01:18:24] Speaker A: Okay.
She just looks at Boz, and she sees the orb going real fast, so she's like, uh. And she.
[01:18:34] Speaker B: I'm so excited for these sessions.
[01:18:36] Speaker A: And. And she kind of does, like a weird little, like, strum on her lute that sounds like the song playing right now, because. So weird.
[01:18:44] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:18:45] Speaker A: And she just like, kind of like what you see in movies where they, like, fold into a bat, like a vampire folds into a bat, except it's like purple and gold sparkles.
[01:18:57] Speaker B: Also, I cannot stress this enough. When we're in these sections, the lost lands, a lot of things will be happening. Please, somewhere in chat, record the things happening with your characters so you can do it in your own character channels if you want. It might clog them up a bunch. Maybe put it in general or put it in reference or role statistics or memes, but just somewhere be typing what the current conditions for your character are. Also, Boz, the not talking thing is going to be seven minutes.
[01:19:24] Speaker D: Okay.
[01:19:25] Speaker B: Okay.
So, ro, you fold into a bat. Could you roll me a d 100?
[01:19:32] Speaker A: Yes.
[01:19:33] Speaker B: As you cast Polymorph.
Also, I trust, as always, that you guys are. I don't have to say that you're 11th level. You're marking out your spell slots. That was dumb.
[01:19:41] Speaker A: I got a 53.
[01:19:44] Speaker B: 53.
[01:19:50] Speaker A: Oh, no. I'm terrified.
[01:19:54] Speaker B: Excellent. Stupendous. Oh, my goodness. I've waited so long for the lost lands, and they're here.
That's phenomenal.
Oh, my goodness. I just. Dad, I. I couldn't be happier. Excellent, excellent, excellent, excellent, excellent.
[01:20:13] Speaker A: I'm terrified.
[01:20:15] Speaker B: Ro folds into a bat, and there's a little purple bat, and she just. A purple bat or whatever the color bat you want. And she just flies up after the.
[01:20:24] Speaker A: Green orb with rose eyes.
[01:20:27] Speaker B: Fruit bat with rose eyes. So as Fro starts flying upward or froat, I don't know, flying after the green orb, she's leaving, she's flying upward, and you guys are still in the ravine.
Ro will describe what's going on with you in a second. Everybody else, you're there at the bottom of the ravine.
[01:20:44] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm trying to find.
[01:20:45] Speaker B: All I can say about this island is brace yourselves for the chaos.
[01:20:49] Speaker A: I love it.
[01:20:54] Speaker B: Craig is sitting there with one of his spears, and he's just tying thick cord on it and doing something that Micah's never necessarily thought of, but just tying rope around it. And then he just starts javelin throwing. I'm gonna make an athletics check for him. That's ridiculously high. And the spear just out of the pit, and then he pulls on it and it tumbles back down, then he hucks it again. He's gonna do this four or five times, and then he pulls, and the rope has caught on a stone, and he's just gonna start pulling himself up, which is incredibly difficult, cause it's not a sheer face, but he's wearing full plate armor. And if he wasn't as stupid strong as he is, he would be stuck. But he very difficultly starts pulling himself up, and Teller starts climbing after him.
[01:21:39] Speaker D: I have a strength score of twelve, but I also have twigs on my arms.
So what does that mean, Zachary?
[01:21:48] Speaker B: Well, boss, if you'll remember correctly from your new features, you have a climb speed.
[01:21:53] Speaker D: That's right. I just start climbing, I just start climbing up the wall.
[01:21:57] Speaker B: Halfway up the wall, Tello's just like just covered in sweat, just, okay.
And he's like, he's like looped the rope around his waist, so he's doing better. He's like, and then as he's doing that, he just hears and he looks over and Boz is just spider manning it slowly up the wall, and he just goes, man, every time. And he just goes back to climbing.
And slowly but surely, everybody gets to the top of the wall, except for maybe Greta. Greta, what are you doing?
[01:22:25] Speaker C: I'm trying to follow tella.
[01:22:27] Speaker B: Okay, could you give me an athletics check?
[01:22:30] Speaker A: I feel like Ro is, well, I don't know what Ro's thinking right now, but I'm like, I should have turned into something bigger to carry it.
[01:22:40] Speaker B: Oh, I see you saying.
[01:22:43] Speaker C: Oh, my gosh, I've rolled the same thing every time.
[01:22:47] Speaker B: Sorry, Greta. What'd you get, Buddha?
Huh?
What did you roll?
[01:22:58] Speaker C: Athletic.
[01:22:59] Speaker B: Uh huh.
[01:23:03] Speaker C: Nine.
[01:23:06] Speaker B: Greta, could you roll? We're gonna be reasonable about this. Could you roll me a d 20?
It's a nat one best possible outcome.
So you get a foot up the rope and you're just like, oh, no, not for the old lady. And you're just, oh, you're not climbing up that rope.
[01:23:29] Speaker C: Oh, okay.
[01:23:30] Speaker B: Teller gets all the way to the top and goes, looks back down and he goes, oh, Greta, can you look good?
[01:23:40] Speaker C: I'm going to look for items.
[01:23:44] Speaker B: Craig leans over and goes, tie it around your waist, tie it around your waist, I'll pull you up.
[01:23:50] Speaker C: I do that.
[01:23:51] Speaker B: Okay. It's a lot of work, and you're strategic today.
[01:23:56] Speaker D: Oh, my God.
[01:23:56] Speaker B: Against the wall for a little bit, but you get to the top and you're out of the pit.
Ro, minutes ago you got to the top as everyone else was climbing. Boz was the second up and then everybody else, as you climb up, you're out of the ravine, more sloping, broken landscape here on the other side, you've gone far, like left now, far southeast or southwest. And as the mountain cracks down past this huge ravine gully, the landscape just slides down into broken fractures. And this is the part of the aisle where parts of the landscape implode into just holes in the earth, just holes. And here all the topography goes down for a while until a couple miles in the distance. Oh, that's a huge cliff with different colors on it, far away. Okay. But this part of the landscape, you've got like five or 6 miles in front of you of just downward sloping topography. Now you can see the whole landscape. Everything forward is like this split, like sort of like a river cuts it in a landscape and it goes down. We call it the great.
Thank you. It's like a massive canyon system of just thousands of shallow canyons, like maybe like 30ft deep at the deepest, just all snaking with each other. And instead of being river cut, they're all very deeply in sheer cut and the sides of them are all dark black. So the tops are like the same color stone, but the sides are all dark black. And you've dealt with enough visions at this point connecting to other things. You can tell that's obsidian. It's like magma flows just ripped through the landscape suddenly one day and there's just this huge revering system of them and they disappear into a landscape. You kind of can't tell further out, but it's that for a long ways. And you're out and the green little orb just floats further into that landscape.
[01:25:47] Speaker A: I'm gonna keep following. Like, is there. Okay, you said there's like holes. Like holes that you can't see.
[01:25:55] Speaker B: Yeah, like holes in front, like.
[01:25:58] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:25:58] Speaker B: Landscape slows down huge holes in the earth, but they don't cover everything. There's just like 40 of them, maybe all spread apart.
[01:26:04] Speaker A: How big are the big islands?
[01:26:06] Speaker B: The smallest are about 4ft across, the biggest are about 30 40ft across. Now, plenty of paths snake between them and if you just continue on past those, then you get to the cut like magma canyon landscape.
[01:26:18] Speaker A: I think I'm gonna stay as a bat for a bit. Still following that.
[01:26:22] Speaker D: Do it.
[01:26:23] Speaker B: Okay. You slowly follow it forward. It just goes at the pace you do, boss. You get to the top, you see rat flying forward following the green orb. What do you do?
[01:26:34] Speaker D: I follow behind.
[01:26:36] Speaker B: Okay, ro, I take it you're kind of flying in circles, not going too fast or. Excuse me that. So Boz is falling behind. At some point, everyone else catches up, very tired, but you guys are following behind. I rolled some checks, and Craig has yet to take a point of exhaustion. Such a beast. But you guys are following and tell us. Just so tired. No exhaustion, just not having a good time. And everyone's following rat, and you guys are following the orb. You pass by the huge gaping holes in the earth, and you hear from somewhere deep inside this deep rumbling of stone.
Deep down, like an echoing sound, I assume. Or what do you guys do as you pass by those tunnels?
[01:27:22] Speaker C: Take a peek.
[01:27:23] Speaker A: Okay. Yeah, I take a peek with my fruit bat eyes.
[01:27:27] Speaker B: Greta. You look down into the shallow holes, just dirt, until it occurs at an angle you can't see anymore. You look into one of the big ones. Dirt, dirt, dirt. Black, gaping darkness.
[01:27:38] Speaker D: I put my ear to the ground to try and see if I can tell if it's a creature.
[01:27:43] Speaker B: That's interesting. Also, it's about this time you say something quietly to yourself and you realize your ability to speak is back.
[01:27:49] Speaker D: Oh, yeah.
[01:27:50] Speaker B: Could you give me a perception check at advantage?
[01:27:53] Speaker D: Yes, I will, because I am a.
[01:27:55] Speaker B: Smart or a survival check. However, you, either one survival check wouldn't be an advantage.
What do you get, boo bear?
[01:28:10] Speaker D: I got 19.
[01:28:12] Speaker B: Okay, Boz, as you hear the rumbling, something is tearing the earth apart. Deep, deep, deep down.
Yikes.
Okay, what'd that party do?
[01:28:30] Speaker A: How long do we need to follow it before it stops?
[01:28:35] Speaker B: You're not sure, you know that locate object leads you to the object it is, wherever it is.
[01:28:39] Speaker A: Okay, I'm just asking because when it gets to, like, close to an hour, ro will know to unmorph, so she.
[01:28:51] Speaker B: Doesn'T that into which you're stepping. Can I assume that, miss keen mind spellcaster?
You guys keep following the orb pass by the tunnels?
[01:29:00] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah.
[01:29:01] Speaker B: Okay.
You eventually begin moving. It's a dark tunnel, you know.
[01:29:08] Speaker A: Yes, boss.
[01:29:11] Speaker D: I want to send Xalafax down.
[01:29:14] Speaker B: Okay, boss. Terries for a moment and summons the. The creature that the fairy dragon slayed and moves through the air. And as you mentally signal him, he disappears into the darkness.
He doesn't have a blind side of any sort, does he?
[01:29:41] Speaker D: Doesn't have. He doesn't have a blind sight. No, he just has dark vision.
[01:29:46] Speaker B: Okay. He gets about 150.
[01:29:50] Speaker D: He has dancing lights.
[01:29:51] Speaker B: Oh, sick. So Zalifax himself just raises up his little prehensile reptile hands, and as he does, he opens his mouth and his fangs protrude forward and just vibrate and go and all these little sparks of light follow him, and he just. And his wings, he does that swimming, flying motion down. And the lights just on in the darkness. And as Boz's eyes roll back, you see his vision. And as he burrows deeper into the tunnels. Boz, could you give me an odds or evens?
[01:30:23] Speaker D: Roll, Oz. Cause I'm an odd guy.
[01:30:26] Speaker B: Cause I haven't decided what's making these holes yet.
Good time to roll a seven.
Xalafax flies down, down, down, hundreds of feet down, until eventually, from a distance, his lights illuminate one of the strangest sights you've ever seen. Earth is just fracturing in on itself and then crumbling in, like, a sinkhole, but then falling and falling. And once one of the large earth slabs tumbles, for a moment, you just get the sight of a landscape you don't recognize at all. Bright orange tears of color juxtaposed against deep burgundies like blood suddenly thrown against a purple background. And for a moment, you just barely get this glimpse of a huge stone like, floating object, rotating before fire burns out of the side of it. And then more stone collides into itself, until that brief vision of whatever lays beyond folds in behind more stones and Jackie. And then the stones keep falling in on themselves. Give me an arcana check, boss.
[01:31:39] Speaker D: Okay.
[01:31:42] Speaker B: That said Elmo burn. I thought that said Elmo born. And then all of a sudden, I thought of, like, a D and D subclass.
[01:31:48] Speaker D: That's like, I'm Elmo born, but Arcana, that's 19.
No, no, no.
On natural 20, I used my Dex modifier.
[01:31:58] Speaker B: How dare you. Never do it again. Will, pee your pants. So, Boz, for a moment, you realize this portal is opening the other way. A portal has opened here, not above the island, but inside of it. And the stone is just imploding on itself in the direction of this portal being sucked into whatever other realm. This is one you do not recognize.
[01:32:20] Speaker D: I've been to hell. Does that make a difference?
[01:32:23] Speaker B: Well, and I'll always remember this, you have almost no idea what the hells are. But you've been there. Again, no conception of what that place was that you went to. Because, again, hell's not a very established concept in Jalabrin. And, no, it doesn't look like that. Some other realm you don't recognize.
[01:32:40] Speaker D: All right, I call Zalifax back.
[01:32:42] Speaker B: Okay, Zalifax just disappears.
[01:32:46] Speaker D: Head back towards check.
[01:32:47] Speaker B: Okay, start following everybody. Okay, you guys, keep following the orbital. Guys, I've been so excited for the lost lands chaos here. Especially on dim dap huna. Yes.
[01:32:58] Speaker A: What?
Did something happen? You laughed and then nothing happened. I'm scared when I rolled my d 100.
[01:33:10] Speaker B: Yeah. So anyway, you guys are flying after the green orb, and as you guys follow rat further into these obsidian canyon matrices, you guys just begin weaving in between. The stone is jagged and uneven. And as you see the magma walls, they have uneven, like, striations to them and different tones and hues of color. And the problem is, Craig would make a stone cutting check, but Mike is not here. So one of you guys who's proficient in nature could try and give me a nature check.
[01:33:38] Speaker A: But I have expertise in nature that.
[01:33:40] Speaker B: I don't think I'm on me, buddy. But it's gonna be a higher DC because I don't have the stone any future.
[01:33:45] Speaker C: Okay, can I make a nature check?
[01:33:48] Speaker B: You know what, grabby? I want and need you to.
[01:33:52] Speaker A: I got a 27.
[01:33:53] Speaker B: Holy actual farting crap.
[01:33:57] Speaker D: I'll drink to that.
[01:33:58] Speaker B: I give up on, uh. I give up on DC's. They don't matter anymore.
What'd you get?
[01:34:04] Speaker C: 28.
[01:34:06] Speaker B: A dragon appears. Roll for initiative. Um, no. So as you guys look at.
[01:34:11] Speaker A: Yeah, I druid rolled the lowest somehow on this.
[01:34:16] Speaker B: Boz, you're not sure what's going on here, but everybody else puts together. Oh, where magma burned through this landscape, it's carved these ravines and turn the stone to obsidian.
But it didn't do it all at once. This is different. Layers of mag. Of lava flow over different eras. Very quick.
Anywho, you guys are continuing through the ravine matrix.
Every time Maya walks by, the kitten gets to the top of the couch and goes.
Looks down at her. But anywho, you guys are walking and the green orb is floating, floating and floating and rat, as you're following it, the green orb just gets near a wall and floats there still.
[01:34:56] Speaker A: Okay, I floats the wall.
[01:34:59] Speaker C: I look at the wall.
[01:35:01] Speaker B: That's a lot of dark stone I.
[01:35:03] Speaker A: Unturn as long as, like, you know, not on top of a hole.
[01:35:08] Speaker B: Yeah. I'm always gonna assume you don't polymorph onto the pile of knives, you know, so Ro. And there's a flourish of magic, and she lands.
[01:35:17] Speaker A: Oh, no.
[01:35:17] Speaker B: As you guys look at the stone, it's just floating in front of the stone wall also. Greta.
[01:35:27] Speaker A: What?
[01:35:28] Speaker B: As everybody stops and looks at the wall, they also look at Ro's there. As you've always seen her. No, her hair looks great. No hair on top of her head and the hair on her face.
[01:35:39] Speaker A: No.
[01:35:40] Speaker B: As you all look at Ro, and her six inch long, gorgeous, well braided, purple matching beard. Her six inch beard growing from her face. Gorgeously braided, incredibly immaculately maintained with little flowers growing from it. And Ro, you have a full six inch beard, a gorgeous beard. Craig just goes, whoa. And reaches out and just tries to touch it for a second, then pulls his hand back.
Ro, you have a beard on your face.
[01:36:11] Speaker A: Ro freaks out.
She freaks out.
[01:36:16] Speaker C: Fabulous, fabulous, Ronnie.
[01:36:21] Speaker A: I see tell, I tell her, do you have a razor? I don't mean I don't want this.
[01:36:27] Speaker B: I mean I have one now. You want me to do this now?
[01:36:30] Speaker A: Okay, maybe no.
[01:36:33] Speaker B: Half an hour I can. But.
[01:36:36] Speaker D: Could your beast and hammer crunch this wall?
[01:36:41] Speaker B: Craig goes, my moment has come. He just reaches back. Wait, he's like in the swing motion.
[01:36:49] Speaker C: Look at the wall for.
[01:36:51] Speaker B: Okay, Greta, what are you looking at the wall for?
Specify.
[01:36:57] Speaker A: Give me any.
[01:37:00] Speaker C: I want to check the ground around the.
[01:37:04] Speaker B: Give me that. That's the kind of talk about.
[01:37:09] Speaker D: I cast massacre wounds.
Don't do you, though.
[01:37:13] Speaker B: I don't. Okay, don't do that just for what I'm about to do.
Oh, that's a lot of smooth, dark stone.
[01:37:25] Speaker D: And I also, I see Abby looking in the wrong spot, like maybe a little bit too far to the left, and I'm like, what if I check this stone over here? I think.
[01:37:37] Speaker B: Boz, as you repeat the check, the DC raises, go ahead and make an investigation. Check.
[01:37:41] Speaker D: Doing the help. Action.
[01:37:42] Speaker B: Oh, okay, okay. Excuse me, excuse me. Greta, please repeat your check with advantage.
Thank you for the clarification, Lando.
Oh.
[01:37:57] Speaker C: It'S an 18 2nd.
[01:37:59] Speaker D: You have to mute while you do.
[01:38:00] Speaker B: It, Greta, as you, as you look.
[01:38:03] Speaker C: No, I'm not doing that.
[01:38:04] Speaker B: You run your fingers along the wall.
It's near the lowest level where the magnetic flow is nearest.
And as you look at the layers of stone, they aren't just at different layers with different colors. There are different, like topographical layers away from the wall.
Whatever this object is leading you to, it's behind the layer of magma.
The lava must have burned over whatever this is and it got trapped in the wall. I.
Which means whatever it is, it's still what it is. After magma touched it.
[01:38:39] Speaker C: Wow. I want it.
[01:38:40] Speaker B: It's in the wall.
Craig goes hammered something else and just starts.
Tello has to jump back out of the way as rock fragments start flowing around. Craig's just going to smack really hard for a long time. More stone is breaking.
Abby, could you give me an odds or evensitive?
Okay, I don't know what you said even Steven.
Okay. Wow, what a weird time for that.
Okay, so Craig's smashing into the wall, and then you guys hear a sound that's readily becoming more familiar.
And about 100ft down from you, a portal tears open.
Jackie, could you roll me a D 100?
[01:39:31] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:39:31] Speaker B: Find out what this port is gonna open to.
[01:39:33] Speaker A: You said you're gonna roll me a.
[01:39:34] Speaker B: D 100 down from us?
Yeah. 100ft away. Further down the ravine.
Wow, that was a huge jump the kitten just made. That was halfway across the living room.
[01:39:44] Speaker A: That's a 67.
[01:39:48] Speaker D: Oh.
[01:39:48] Speaker B: 35. Okay.
All right. So the portal tears open and exposes a green, lush landscape beyond where, like, plants fold in over a body of water. And out from the water, you guys see as a swan's head pokes up above the water and you guys are just staring at it. Open is the portal.
And the swan goes. The swan goes.
And then the head continues to lift out of the water until it gets to the neck, and then the traps, and then the shoulders.
The eight foot wide shoulders.
[01:40:30] Speaker A: No.
[01:40:30] Speaker B: And then the massive feathered pecs rise out of the water until.
[01:40:35] Speaker D: No.
Zachary.
[01:40:37] Speaker B: Zachary. And you all watch is a twelve. Hold on. You guys watch as a twelve foot tall, like hulk of a creature walks out. It is a hulking, muscular figure with massive muscles all covered in white goose feathers, huge bald fists with giant goose feet, and a tiny, little proportionate swan head at the center. Walks out of the water and just goes.
And the portal closes behind it, and it just starts walking out of the water until it. Oh, Landon, I got you beat to. You guys can look in lore and reference now as a massive, hulking, muscular goose runs towards you. And I need everyone to roll me initiative, as Craig's trying to break through the wall.
[01:41:21] Speaker A: God.
[01:41:26] Speaker D: Oh, my gosh.
[01:41:27] Speaker A: I'm what?
[01:41:30] Speaker B: Everybody roll me initiative. Also, Abby, you can go to bed whenever you want to.
[01:41:35] Speaker A: Do you need one of us? Do you need one of us? Play for you, Greta.
[01:41:40] Speaker B: Oh, we'll just work with whoever's here.
Do you have leveled character sheet in your channel, Abby?
Okay. Also, this comes from the very bottom, the basement of my DM heart. Please always keep level photos of your character sheet in your channel. But anywho, okay, somebody can can do sheet for Abby. Do you want to roll initiative right before you leave, Abby?
[01:42:08] Speaker A: I don't mind doing it, Landon, or if you'd rather do it, but I know you have more.
[01:42:16] Speaker D: It's just if she dies in her bloods on your hands, so.
[01:42:19] Speaker B: Well.
[01:42:22] Speaker C: For me, an initiative.
[01:42:24] Speaker A: I'm not Hill, Greta. I. I'm gonna keep her back. I'm not gonna. I'm not gonna play Greta, though. Like, Greta plays Greta. I'm gonna play her a little back. She's not gonna get in Goose man's face.
[01:42:35] Speaker B: Okay, wait, but Greta's a melee character, right?
She's a claire.
[01:42:41] Speaker A: I got a 17.
[01:42:44] Speaker B: Okay, Boz, what'd you get?
[01:42:51] Speaker D: I got a nat 20 for the first time in my life, of an initiative.
[01:42:55] Speaker B: So what's the total?
[01:42:57] Speaker D: Is the dexterity, right?
Yes, I believe that is 24.
[01:43:03] Speaker B: Holy actual crap. Gooseband gets.
Okay, Maya, she's just living her life, okay? You don't have to his at her. And Craig is just pounding away on the wall, so you don't need to worry about his stats. And tello goes to slip forward. Okay, good night, Abby. Thank you for playing. The chaos will continue to unfold.
Good luck driving to Santa Fe. So Tello goes to step forward, and a tiny portal opens in front of his face, and a branch just comes out of it, clotheslines him. He gets knocked unconscious, and then the. The portal disappears. Don't have to worry about his game statistics. Okay, so he'll wake up after the fight.
I don't want to bog us down in combat that much.
He goes, guys, don't worry. I. And he just on the ground. And Craig goes, tell. Oh, no. And then goes back to hitting the wall.
So whoever wants to manage Greta's sheets, she didn't send you any of her spells, so. Yeah, that was a decision, but, um, up to your interpretation, so first initiative is. Boz, what are you doing? We're just gonna. Theater of the mind, this.
[01:44:19] Speaker A: Yeah, Zach.
[01:44:21] Speaker B: Yeah, what's up?
[01:44:22] Speaker D: What's the difference between a monster and a beast?
[01:44:26] Speaker B: They are arbitrarily defined all across D and D. You can make me a nature jethe as a bonus action if you want to try and figure out whether or not this thing is a monster or a beast.
[01:44:44] Speaker D: Oh, sorry. A creature. A creature or a beast?
[01:44:47] Speaker B: All. All creatures are creatures.
All squares are rectangles. But not all rectangles are squares. There is no thing in D and D. That is not a creature. They're all creature. So beasts of creatures. I'll be so creatures.
[01:44:59] Speaker D: Monster at this time thing.
[01:45:02] Speaker B: Okay.
Holy crap. Describe what that looks like.
[01:45:06] Speaker D: I say, hey, go honk somewhere else, buddy.
[01:45:12] Speaker B: Boz just goes, yeah, you. You're looking kinda. Anyway, okay, so you shout that, and as you go, hey, you.
And the somewhere else turns into deepest speech that reverberates around the canyons as your eyes flash. What spell slot level.
[01:45:27] Speaker D: Is that fourth?
[01:45:30] Speaker B: Holy crap.
[01:45:30] Speaker D: Wisdom saving throw.
[01:45:31] Speaker B: What's your spell save? DC 18 is your spell. Save DC five.
[01:45:37] Speaker D: What?
[01:45:38] Speaker B: Okay, it fails. Also, could you roll a D 100 for me?
[01:45:41] Speaker D: Oh, no. Oh, no.
[01:45:43] Speaker A: Oh, I forgot about that nonsense.
[01:45:49] Speaker D: I got a bde, a Nat 20 symbol, and a 70.
Like, basically, like the highest you can get on a D 100. Die on the ten dice.
[01:46:03] Speaker B: Okay, so on the ten, you got a ten, and on you got a 70 on the other one. That means it's an 80.
Okay, so let's see what happens here.
Wow. Okay, roll me two d twelve minus two, please.
[01:46:19] Speaker D: Two d twelve. Okay, that is seven.
[01:46:22] Speaker B: Two.
[01:46:23] Speaker D: That's seven.
[01:46:24] Speaker B: Okay, in whatever channel you're recording, Boz, please record that for the next 7 hours. You have the benefits of the comprehend languages spell.
So, Boz, you just shout, hey, you go honk somewhere else. And as the noise reverberates around the canyon, all of a sudden, you get this wave wash over your mind. You're like, oh, I can see colors. And as you just suddenly feel your mind expand, the geese just honk, honk, honk, honk. And you watch as its eyes.
You watch it's eyes. What?
[01:46:56] Speaker D: I say just friends now.
[01:46:59] Speaker B: Yeah. You watch as the eyes wash over with different colors. And combat's over.
And the goose, hulk just goes, huh, huh. And then it walks up to you and guys and goes.
[01:47:13] Speaker D: I offer it some water.
[01:47:17] Speaker B: Okay, you hold up a flask.
[01:47:19] Speaker D: Saloon water.
[01:47:21] Speaker B: Okay. As you hold up the tankard, the goose looks at it, doesn't lift the lid, it just goes and starts biting the lid.
[01:47:30] Speaker D: Nice.
[01:47:31] Speaker B: Then as it hands it back to you, it says, hung.
But you have the comprehend languages spell. So you heard. Brethren, I am so sorry for the irrational actions I almost took against you. Forgive me, my friend.
[01:47:44] Speaker D: Absolutely. I would recommend you go back into the hole you came from, because it might close soon. You'll be stuck here.
[01:47:50] Speaker B: It looks back at the coral, the portal that closed immediately. I wish I could. It looks like this is my grim freight. My grim fate.
[01:47:59] Speaker D: Okay, can you swim?
[01:48:02] Speaker B: Yes.
[01:48:03] Speaker D: All right. I give him directions on how to swim back to Agbae. And I say, if you go there, you'll have friends.
[01:48:10] Speaker B: Understood? Before I leave, blood brethren, brother of my brother, sister of my sister, friend of my uncle's third cat. How may I help you in this time, brother blood brother blood brother, brother Zach.
[01:48:27] Speaker D: Does he look stronger than Craig?
[01:48:29] Speaker B: He's 12ft tall and as muscular as he is in the diagram. So he literally looks like the hulk, but goose with a tiny goose head smashed this wall.
A giant goose scaled hand reaches around your shoulder so large, it just wraps up half your brother body, and he goes, brother, blood brother, brother, brother. And the rest of you guys are just hearing, huh, huh, huh? He just goes.
I smash.
And then he just picks boz up and moves him out of the way. And Craig. Craig's, like, halfway through, and he's like, fine. He just moves out of the way, and you guys just hear.
And then the goose grabs the wall, and just.
And huge obsidian chunks are falling away to the ground. Everybody's stepping back, just crushing the wall in front of his fist. Blood is starting to come out of the goose feathers, and the goose hulk is still punching the wall. The head looks away from the wall, rears its head up, and just goes.
And just keeps punching.
[01:49:39] Speaker D: I cast odds.
[01:49:40] Speaker B: Could you give me an odds or evens?
Odds, because you're an odd guy.
[01:49:47] Speaker A: Rose. Gonna yell, never mind.
[01:49:50] Speaker B: Go ahead, Ro.
[01:49:51] Speaker A: I was gonna say, I. Like, I feel like Ro can pick up that they're talking, because.
[01:49:57] Speaker B: Yeah, for sure.
[01:49:58] Speaker A: And she yells at Boz. She says, ask him where he's from, where that portal's from.
[01:50:03] Speaker D: Where are you from?
[01:50:04] Speaker A: Where'd he come from?
[01:50:05] Speaker B: The. The whole goose. Hulk stops punching the portal and goes, a land you would not understand. Oklahoma.
He's punching the wall. Um, could you roll a d 100 for me, Boz?
[01:50:15] Speaker D: Yeah, I got a 77.
[01:50:25] Speaker B: Sure. Um, okay. Excellent. Excellent. The goose continues to punch the wall. Do some role playing for me while I go grab the DMG.
[01:50:34] Speaker A: Um, uh.
[01:50:37] Speaker B: I.
[01:50:39] Speaker D: This is our friend. We have to take care of him now.
[01:50:41] Speaker A: We have to take care of him. But he was about to fight us.
[01:50:44] Speaker D: He was. He was scared. Look at this place. Is scary.
[01:50:48] Speaker A: But he, like. But, like, there's not, like, something that's gonna run out, and then he's gonna go into a murderous rage again.
[01:50:54] Speaker D: No, he's our friend.
[01:50:57] Speaker A: But, like, in an hour, is a spell gonna wear off from him, and he no longer be friendly.
[01:51:03] Speaker D: He remembers everything.
[01:51:05] Speaker A: He's gonna be fine. You really. Okay, well, where's he gonna go?
[01:51:09] Speaker D: Is he, like, he's gonna go to Agba and do you really want to.
[01:51:13] Speaker A: Send this monstrous goose thing to your home?
[01:51:17] Speaker D: My brother. My blood brother. My brother balls.
[01:51:20] Speaker A: He just tried to kill us.
[01:51:22] Speaker D: You don't know that.
[01:51:27] Speaker A: While this is happening, she's, like, tugging on the beard, and you're just like.
[01:51:33] Speaker B: Oh, no, that's a different.
Just turns and goes. And you just hear him say, righteous.
[01:51:42] Speaker D: He says, your fear is righteous.
[01:51:44] Speaker B: We're gonna do this fully. We're gonna go so random. Could you roll me a d ten? I'm determining which table from the DMG I'm rolling from.
[01:51:51] Speaker A: Oh, my gosh.
[01:51:52] Speaker B: If you get a ten, repeat the role, please.
[01:51:53] Speaker D: Seven.
[01:52:00] Speaker B: Okay, 30.
Holy actual frickin crap. Okay, so.
And finally, all the rock chunks scatters down as the giant goose hulk, with its fist bleeding, steps back and goes.
And he just goes there. You look at the wall, and embedded in the fractured stone is this bizarre, like, chain metal shirt. It's this deep, deep, deep, sort of, like, maroon color, but slightly iridescent at its edges. And it's just a chainmail shirt studded with all these strange symbols from a land you don't recognize. And it's just embedded in the wall there until it falls out of the wall with a couple of obsidian chunks still wrapped around it.
[01:52:51] Speaker D: Perfect. Thank you.
I give him some of my provisions, and I say, run. Run to the island.
[01:52:59] Speaker B: As you start to hold up fruit, he turns and looks at you and goes.
And you hear, brother, I don't eat food. Just the tears of my enemies. And then he says, be well. And he lifts up his giant buff arms, and as he pushes them down, his entire body just explodes in feathers. Just.
And as the feathers fall away, there's just the body of a goose. A normal swan or the swan. And the weather's. It's just a normal swan now with, like, 200 pounds of feathers falling down. And the swan just flies out of the ravine.
[01:53:33] Speaker A: I'm so confused.
[01:53:34] Speaker D: What's your name? I yell out as it back, avenge me.
[01:53:41] Speaker B: Which makes no sense. And he flies.
[01:53:42] Speaker D: His name is avenge me.
[01:53:45] Speaker B: And you guys are staring at the chain wheel shirt laying on the ground. I pick it up, and Greta goes, identify. And she identifies a plus one armor chainmail shirt.
So someone please put that somewhere in a channel.
[01:54:08] Speaker A: How heavy is it?
[01:54:10] Speaker B: It's pretty heavy.
[01:54:11] Speaker D: Asking the wilderness, Jackie.
[01:54:13] Speaker B: And then Greta bites your wrist and rips it from your hands and shoves it into one of her pockets. Cause whatever. And then she goes, ma, this pocket sure is getting mighty full. I bet I don't have a lot more room for anything. And someone please put that in a channel to record that. That's in the party's inventory. Okay. What does the party do?
[01:54:33] Speaker D: All right, guys, this has been fun.
[01:54:36] Speaker B: Also, I promise, this is the most insane island.
[01:54:38] Speaker D: Why, now that I can comprehend languages, what did I hear him say in scrying?
[01:54:42] Speaker B: Can I try to remember that spell is not retroactive and not from the school of chronomancy, Angus.
[01:54:50] Speaker D: Dang it. I should have learned chronomancy. Ah, come on, boss.
[01:54:54] Speaker A: Wait, what did you hear him say? What? When?
[01:54:56] Speaker B: In the scrying, Bob. Oh, I was trying to go back to scrying from the day before, but yeah.
[01:55:03] Speaker D: All right, guys, I said we got our party.
[01:55:04] Speaker B: Stay in the stoner.
[01:55:06] Speaker D: Let's go.
[01:55:12] Speaker A: Um, a go where, boss? Like, away from this island.
[01:55:18] Speaker D: Zach, what did I get with my d 100 roll? What happened?
[01:55:22] Speaker B: You got a plus one chainmail shirt?
[01:55:26] Speaker D: No, no, with my d 100 roll. Then I rolled a seven.
[01:55:32] Speaker B: I don't remember when laughed just now.
[01:55:37] Speaker D: I rolled a 77, and then I rolled a seven on a d ten. And you laughed.
[01:55:41] Speaker B: Yeah. Plus one chainmail shirt. I was determining what magic item was frozen.
[01:55:44] Speaker A: 77 was that.
[01:55:46] Speaker B: Oh, and this is gonna blow your minds. A plus one chainmail shirt. Okay, so the seven item we found.
[01:55:52] Speaker D: In the wall, that's what I was.
[01:55:55] Speaker B: There's. There's nine magic tables. Magic item tables in the DMG. I had you roll for which table I'd roll from, and then D 100 to see which item.
[01:56:02] Speaker A: We just wanted to make sure you weren't missing a funny thing.
[01:56:05] Speaker B: I smell what you're pooping. So you have the item.
What that party do say is, as long as you guys stay here, more crazy stuff will happen. You can have more. You can have less. Up to you, boss.
[01:56:18] Speaker A: Do you want to?
I don't know.
[01:56:22] Speaker D: Let's go to the caldera.
[01:56:23] Speaker A: Okay, I'm down for that.
[01:56:25] Speaker D: Alright, I have one wild shape left, and then I can't do it anymore.
[01:56:29] Speaker A: I can. I can transform you. You wanna. I. You don't have to carry me. I can transform into something.
[01:56:35] Speaker D: No table.
I say.
[01:56:40] Speaker A: What is the table? Do you say pauses?
[01:56:43] Speaker B: Bosses. Pupils come back out.
[01:56:45] Speaker A: Actually, balls. I kind of want to get rid of this thing right now. So how about I carry everyone? And as Rose says that, she turns into a giant eagle.
[01:56:53] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:56:55] Speaker A: Polymorph.
[01:56:57] Speaker B: A huge magic explosion. Beagle. Is there a regal? Excuse me. And could you roll a d 100 for me?
[01:57:05] Speaker A: This is fun, but I'm terrified.
[01:57:09] Speaker B: This table is crazy.
[01:57:10] Speaker A: What if I was to roll the same number twice?
[01:57:13] Speaker B: Then the same thing would happen.
[01:57:14] Speaker A: A second beard.
[01:57:15] Speaker B: Okay, it's just a beard inside the beard.
[01:57:18] Speaker A: What's double zeros?
[01:57:20] Speaker B: Zero.
Oh, so you just roll single digits.
[01:57:24] Speaker A: Okay, so that is a seven.
Weird.
That Landon and I keep. Oh, no. I don't like your face. I do not like your face. I do not like it.
[01:57:38] Speaker B: Oh, and make it with the giant eagle stats. Make it with the giant eagle stats.
[01:57:42] Speaker A: Oh, crap. I gotta pull it up.
[01:57:43] Speaker B: I'll tell you what. I'll tell you what.
[01:57:44] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:57:45] Speaker B: I'll see if I can beat you to looking it up. Go.
I cheated by starting first.
[01:57:51] Speaker A: I got it.
[01:57:52] Speaker B: Dang it.
Okay, what's your con saving throw?
Not proficient. Plus one. So roll a d 20 and add one.
[01:57:59] Speaker A: Oh, where's my d 20?
[01:58:00] Speaker B: Guys, I love the lost lands. It's not all gonna be this insane, but.
[01:58:05] Speaker A: Oh, no.
[01:58:07] Speaker B: What'd you get, bud?
[01:58:08] Speaker A: I got a seven.
[01:58:09] Speaker B: Literally. Couldn't be better. So ro goes, I got this.
And ro, like, starts to take off. And could you roll a d twelve for me?
Oh, this is so beautiful.
[01:58:23] Speaker D: What's dice rock? Watch out, ro.
[01:58:26] Speaker A: That's a ten.
[01:58:27] Speaker B: Okay, ro just.
And just falls face down in the canyon. And you all watch as regal's just.
The eagle's just sleeping.
[01:58:43] Speaker A: For how long?
[01:58:45] Speaker B: So Regal's just laying around her side, and you guys are standing in the can. And Craig goes.
Craig goes. Well, that was unexpected.
Tell us. Poking the giant eagle.
What now?
[01:59:03] Speaker D: I say. I yell. I say, oh, my gosh, Ro. Craig's farting, and no one's making it go. He's far. Prestige tating, and no one's fixing it. What are we gonna do?
[01:59:13] Speaker B: Yelling does not seem to affect the yelling does not seem to affect the magical sleep.
[01:59:22] Speaker D: You're gonna be cast greater restoration again, Jackie. A second time today.
[01:59:26] Speaker B: There could be other solutions. It's up to y'all. There could be other solutions. Maybe. That would certainly work.
[01:59:32] Speaker A: You got any smelling salts?
[01:59:39] Speaker B: Greta's. Greta's just sitting there trying to pluck one of the giant feathers.
[01:59:45] Speaker A: Am I dreaming or anything? Do I have any?
[01:59:48] Speaker B: You're dreaming of giant rabbits to eat. Oh, no.
[01:59:52] Speaker D: I hit. I hit the eagle. I go, wake up, wake up.
[01:59:56] Speaker B: Can you just hit it with your hand?
[01:59:59] Speaker D: Yes.
[02:00:01] Speaker B: Okay.
Nothing's happening, right?
[02:00:05] Speaker D: I think Ro's dead, guys.
[02:00:08] Speaker B: Tell her goes. I mean, she's breathing.
[02:00:11] Speaker D: Oh, yeah, good point.
[02:00:20] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. I guess she's not dead.
[02:00:23] Speaker D: Does anybody have, like, before dead?
We're still here. I can't pick her up. She's a giant eater. So maybe we just sit here and take a short rest.
[02:00:39] Speaker B: How long is she gonna be like this?
[02:00:41] Speaker D: I don't know.
[02:00:46] Speaker B: Boz, could you make an arcana check?
[02:00:48] Speaker A: Yeah, I was gonna say Arcana.
[02:00:50] Speaker D: That is 13 plus.
Is that being exactly my modifier? I have 18.
[02:00:56] Speaker B: You should probably add your modifier.
Okay, so you bet. A very powerful restorative spell such as greater restoration could certainly do it. Lesser restoration probably would as well also. But if you have that prepared, I don't know if you do also, damaging her form would probably wake her up as well.
Believe that would probably break a magical sleep.
[02:01:19] Speaker D: I thorn whip her.
[02:01:22] Speaker B: Excellent break up, bro.
[02:01:24] Speaker D: And I thorn whip her.
[02:01:28] Speaker B: Roll for damage. Oh, my gosh. Oh, guys, I really missed the, this feels a little bit like og fun.
[02:01:35] Speaker A: Guys, I miss the chaos.
[02:01:37] Speaker B: No, your ac is zero because you're unconscious.
[02:01:40] Speaker A: But I'm a gian eagle.
[02:01:42] Speaker B: Uh huh.
[02:01:43] Speaker D: All right, so now I do three d, six damage.
Five.
[02:01:49] Speaker B: How many hit points do you have as a giant eagle?
[02:01:50] Speaker A: 1126.
[02:01:52] Speaker B: Good.
[02:01:53] Speaker D: Eight. That's eight damage.
[02:01:54] Speaker B: Okay. The thorn whip just whips the eagle, stabs into the feathers regal you and you're awake. And you just, the eagle like flaps awake. You have eight less hit points, but your 10 hours of magical sleep is broken.
Yeah, this table has a lot of very mild consequences, a handful of fairly negative consequences, a handful of really negative consequences, and then the same thing in the positive direction.
[02:02:21] Speaker A: I figured it was ten minutes. Yikers.
[02:02:24] Speaker B: Okay, ro, you are awake. You still have like 55 minutes of giant eagle and you're bleeding and you hurt, but you're all right.
Eagle is awake.
[02:02:34] Speaker A: Ro does this like get on her back?
[02:02:36] Speaker B: She shakes head motion.
[02:02:38] Speaker D: Can we all fit on her back?
[02:02:40] Speaker B: Tello starts climbing up and goes, ooh, that's a lot of blood. And she climbs up on your shoulders.
Greta holds on and then Boz just barely climbs on and you grab Craig and you start.
[02:02:53] Speaker A: Whoa, that's heavy.
[02:02:56] Speaker B: She's just like, she's flying like 30ft around. Just, you're just like, oh, good, good thing, good thing. You're doing all the cardio and you're, it's like a, it's like a 15 minutes flight, but you get across, back across the island all the way from whence you came.
You fly over the giant holes and there's just a huge spout of green flame out of one of them and then it goes back to darkness and you're just like, and you, you fly all the way across the island and you finally get to the broken opposite tip of the mountains, caved in, which makes this bizarre vertical cave caldera thing. And as you land at the edge, it's filled with thin white iridescent fluid out of which different spirals of dark red stone are growing upward in stalagmites. Upward almost sort of like out of the fluid, like 200 foot wide basin of this fluid and then another 300ft in every direction of just nothing but solid ground. And it's just like this broken bowl of stone earth. And past it, there's a 400 foot drop into.
As you're flying over, you can see there is just a bowl of roiling, crushing stone, like a quarter mile of it just grinding and smashing against itself down at the bottom of this cliff, just making this thundering racket. And then beyond that, bizarrely, a swath of forest and then more stone landscape past it. But you guys land at the edge of the caldera, 400ft or maybe like 800ft above the stone bowl of death. And you're just there at the caldera.
[02:04:39] Speaker D: I forgot.
[02:04:40] Speaker A: I'm not flying.
[02:04:41] Speaker D: It's row.
[02:04:41] Speaker B: Okay. Everybody lands.
[02:04:43] Speaker A: I land and unshake ya.
That was weird.
Am I. I forgot how that works. Am I still injured as.
[02:04:55] Speaker B: No. Once you leave your form, you're fine.
[02:04:57] Speaker A: That's what I thought.
A short rest right here on top of Craig sits down panting mountain.
[02:05:04] Speaker D: We have like 200ft of clear space. We just gotta sit for an hour.
[02:05:08] Speaker A: We don't know what's gonna, like, open up beside us.
[02:05:11] Speaker D: We stand up and we handle it. We're just sitting down.
[02:05:14] Speaker A: Okay, fine.
[02:05:15] Speaker D: Go to sleep. We just sit.
[02:05:16] Speaker A: Fine, fine, fine.
[02:05:19] Speaker B: Okay.
[02:05:20] Speaker D: This is the first short rest of.
[02:05:22] Speaker B: The entire camp guys have ever taken 117 episodes in. The party takes a short rest, which feels very five y. Everybody.
And the party just chills for a bit.
Boss, you want to roll me on odds or evens?
[02:05:38] Speaker D: I would love to do that. And I am going to do today because it's upside down. Land up here.
[02:05:42] Speaker B: 117 episodes in Boz takes his first year. Guys, velocity.
[02:05:49] Speaker D: Should I roll or you?
[02:05:54] Speaker B: For the next hour, absolutely nothing chaotic happens.
For a brief time, this portal tears open on the ground and just. Just a 30 foot thick straight column of bubbles.
And as the bubbles pop, you just hear.
All you hear is.
And just the guitar from Jekyll and Hyde by jagged row plays very briefly. And then back to Simon.
[02:06:29] Speaker A: Very weird.
[02:06:34] Speaker B: I. And you guys just sit calmly in the caldera and then you guys can roll your hit dice if you would like.
[02:06:41] Speaker D: I have full hp, so probably everyone does.
[02:06:43] Speaker B: Yeah. So short rest passes. There's a break.
[02:06:46] Speaker D: I get my wild shape back, though, so that's nice. I have two wild shapes again.
[02:06:49] Speaker B: No one else in this party is a short rest caster, so that doesn't change anything. But everybody gets a breather and you're all there. A little refreshed, very on edge, because you don't know when something crazy is gonna happen, but nothing does.
You what?
[02:07:02] Speaker A: Okay, well, I want to go look.
[02:07:04] Speaker D: At the water over there. You said there was like a white, weird liquid, right?
[02:07:08] Speaker B: Boz, you walk up toward the thin, filmy liquid. Could you roll me a D 100? Cause I haven't decided at all what this is yet.
I'll roll as well.
[02:07:19] Speaker D: That is 58. I dropped my d 20. 1 second.
[02:07:22] Speaker B: Okay, I got 38.
That means that on me. Okay, boss. You approach it. It is very still, tepid fluid, definitely not water. It's, like viscous and thick at the top. And it's not iridescent. It's just got like a reflective sheen at the surface, so that when you stand at angles, it reflects the sun sharply. But at other places you can see straight through it. And it's just very. It is completely unmoving. The surface is not moving at all. And the spires are very thin, maybe like a foot across as they leave the fluid. And then they twist upward and just come to sharp conical points. And it's like a semi translucent, sort of dark red purple stone. And they're growing every 50 or 60ft or so all across this. This thin fluid. And it smells bizarre. It smells sort of like a. Like a very lightly fetid scent. Sort of like some sort of a decaying material is kind of the scent.
And it's just unmoving and sitting there. And you notice right at the edges of the smooth rock from the caldera, whatever formed it, there are like, sort of rings for where it looks like this fluid has receded. And it's left these kind of like white lapped rings along the stone. And you sort of crunch up. And as you walk across the surface, there's like a very, very thin layer of some sort of like a dried mineral that is, as you step on it, it's crunching as you approach the fluid.
[02:08:52] Speaker D: While we're here, I just want to let you know that boz is kind of like writing descriptions or keeping track of where the different types of portals are.
Like that fire type, weird stone removing one is down underground. We ran into the goose one and the thing. But like, lava flows very quickly.
[02:09:11] Speaker B: As you're taking little druid, druidic notes, Greta just goes yes. To herself.
[02:09:20] Speaker A: And can I follow Boz over to the edge?
[02:09:25] Speaker B: That is not the sort of thing you have to ask about. You can just do that.
[02:09:28] Speaker A: Okay, I'm gonna do that. And can I make a nature check to see if I have ever seen this stuff?
[02:09:36] Speaker B: Yes, go ahead.
[02:09:39] Speaker A: As soon as I pick up this dice, you're gonna say, and you don't know what it is.
[02:09:43] Speaker B: Jackie, come on, I'm better than that.
You don't know what it is. Okay, ro, you look up. Oh, that's not from here.
You ain't never seen whatever that is.
[02:09:58] Speaker D: Do I see any creatures in there?
[02:10:02] Speaker B: Boz, you bend down. You're not seeing anything. But you smell a very fetid aroma. Give me a very high DC nature check.
[02:10:15] Speaker A: Can I assist or. No.
What's a nature check?
[02:10:19] Speaker B: You're inspecting it and you're proficient. You're proficient in nature, right, ro?
[02:10:23] Speaker A: Yeah, I have expertise.
[02:10:24] Speaker B: Yeah, that could be assistance.
[02:10:27] Speaker D: Okay.
[02:10:27] Speaker B: Or help.
[02:10:28] Speaker D: Roll again.
[02:10:29] Speaker B: This is gonna be a ridiculous roll.
[02:10:31] Speaker D: That is a 27.
[02:10:34] Speaker B: Yep. That was ridiculous.
Okay, I'm going to lead with what you do not know, because you do not live in the modern age of biology. You do not know that there is some sort of alien to jalabrin. You don't know that there is some sort of alien microbia in here, decaying whatever this partially organic material, fluid is.
But in the simplest sense, you all are aware that in liquid sources, where there is, where there were once some amount of living material, things decay, and that releases ascent. So the first part is definitely stuff you don't know. But the second part, you're like, okay, this is like a smell of decay. So there must be something in this water that was or is alive. That's just sort of breaking stuff down the way that stuff does in nature. You smell it at swamps, stuff like that. Some sort of a gas is being released.
[02:11:25] Speaker D: I want to go see what's down there, bro. I'm going to cast water, breathe, and try to go down there to see if there's some cool monster pieces.
[02:11:34] Speaker B: Sorry. Very important. I should really say this. So sorry, I haven't established this. The caldera is very shallow. The center of this pool looks like it might get to 4ft deep.
It's very wide and shallow. Wanted to. Before you did anything, I wanted to make sure that I explained that.
[02:11:50] Speaker A: Um.
[02:11:51] Speaker B: Yes, she.
[02:11:52] Speaker D: Shucks. What?
[02:11:54] Speaker A: I mean, I'm sorry. Have you, like, touched it yet? Like, it's not gonna hurt you if you. If you go in it, is it?
[02:12:02] Speaker D: I touch it with my little finger.
[02:12:04] Speaker A: I touch it.
[02:12:06] Speaker B: Okay.
[02:12:07] Speaker D: Touch the butt with my skin.
[02:12:14] Speaker B: Wow. Those are low rolls.
That is stylo.
That's very handy mass. You take seven points of acid damage. So as you reach your finger down and touch it, it pull your finger back. And from the brief moment you touched it, all dermal layers from the tip of your finger have been burned away immediately, and there's bare flesh beneath, and you just sort of. As you pull your finger back, it burns excruciatingly.
[02:12:43] Speaker D: That is acidic.
[02:12:44] Speaker B: Acidic.
[02:12:46] Speaker A: Ro immediately grabs his hand and casts cure wounds on him.
[02:12:49] Speaker B: Don't do that.
[02:12:50] Speaker D: Oh, my gosh.
[02:12:52] Speaker A: Oh, shoot.
[02:12:53] Speaker B: Well, first of all, could you roll it 100 for me?
[02:12:57] Speaker A: Yeah. I forgot.
[02:12:59] Speaker B: No, it's okay.
[02:13:00] Speaker D: It's take any damage.
[02:13:01] Speaker A: It is fun. You did?
[02:13:05] Speaker D: Oh, I did take seven points damage.
[02:13:08] Speaker A: And was like, that's scary. So she was trying to help real quick as her role, but. Okay, if it's a ten, Landon Hoffa.
[02:13:17] Speaker B: Brought me back candy from the party, and there's nerds.
[02:13:19] Speaker A: Anyway, okay, if one says a ten, is that ten? It's gonna be in the fifth, like, okay, in a five. So 15, right?
[02:13:30] Speaker B: Okay, 15. Let's find out. What's a 50? And the fun thing is, there's so many things on the table, I never.
[02:13:36] Speaker A: Oh, my God. No, no, no.
[02:13:42] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, 15.
No.
[02:13:47] Speaker A: Uh, okay, I cast reverse killers.
[02:13:51] Speaker B: Whoa. Could you, um.
First of all, expend your spell slot?
Okay, could you.
Oh, could you roll two d four minus one.
[02:14:06] Speaker A: No.
Watch it.
[02:14:08] Speaker D: Be years.
[02:14:09] Speaker B: Okay? I'm not that cruel.
I'm not a monster. Again, sadistic.
[02:14:17] Speaker A: So, minus what?
[02:14:20] Speaker B: One.
[02:14:21] Speaker A: Okay, so it's gonna be four total.
[02:14:24] Speaker B: Okay, wherever you're recording your stuff for row.
[02:14:27] Speaker A: Okay.
[02:14:28] Speaker B: Please write duration for duration for.
[02:14:34] Speaker A: Or what?
[02:14:35] Speaker B: Yep. Don't know that.
Then could you roll me a d eight?
[02:14:46] Speaker A: I'm scared.
[02:14:47] Speaker B: That's wild. That's one of the most insane rolls in the entire table. That's so incredibly nuts.
[02:14:53] Speaker A: Good.
It fell on the ground, but I'm gonna use the roll. It's a six.
[02:15:04] Speaker B: Okay, I'll let you stick with it.
You know what? That's fair. I'm putting you through a lot of chaos. If you want to stick with it, you can stick with it.
[02:15:10] Speaker A: Wait, should I. Do you not like me to stick with rolls on the floor? It wasn't caught.
[02:15:15] Speaker B: Ding, ding, ding. And she reaches up and goes to touch her hand. Like, the magic starts to flow from your hands, and then just row, just.
And she's gone.
[02:15:24] Speaker A: No.
[02:15:26] Speaker B: And Craig goes.
And Tyler just goes.
[02:15:31] Speaker D: I.
Oh.
[02:15:38] Speaker B: Ro.
What a stunning turn of events. That's insane. That's, like, literally like, the second or third most insane role on the whole table.
Ro, you are standing in a dark landscape.
All around you, tall pines spire upward, long branches out, entirely barren of needles upon the forest floor that you trod, just a millennia of decayed needles from before, like a thin ash below your boots.
The sky above you is a dark, dark gray, and there is a pale sheen of thin, thin, pallid white light. Just enough to see by, but barely. You have maybe 30ft of visibility in every direction, and you can't tell whether or not it's night or day. There is thick and still and shadow envelops all around you. Could you go ahead and give me either.
Give me a religion check.
Okay.
Wow.
Incredible.
[02:17:11] Speaker D: There's a duration of four, so. And it's less than years, so you only.
[02:17:20] Speaker A: Okay. Um, 22.
Why did you say it like that? Buzz or.
[02:17:35] Speaker B: Landed ro, taking a sharp breath.
Okay, well, you learned about this in the church?
Shadowfell.
[02:17:49] Speaker A: Yep. That's what I wrote on my sheet. I said shadowfell, question mark. The moment you started talking.
[02:17:55] Speaker B: Ro, you're in the shadow fell.
Could you roll me a d?
[02:18:09] Speaker A: No, couldn't.
Do I have all my stuff on me?
[02:18:16] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. You're there. You. You were just planeshifted.
[02:18:20] Speaker A: What if.
[02:18:20] Speaker B: Okay, what if we find your dad?
[02:18:22] Speaker D: We're like, well, you're bringing your daughter.
[02:18:28] Speaker B: Until very recently.
[02:18:31] Speaker A: Okay. Zero equals ten. Correct.
[02:18:35] Speaker B: On the D ten.
[02:18:37] Speaker A: Yeah.
[02:18:37] Speaker B: Or on the D 100.
[02:18:38] Speaker A: Yes, yes, on the D ten.
[02:18:40] Speaker B: 10 is ten.
[02:18:41] Speaker A: Okay. And then 80. So 90.
What is your.
I'm never casting carols again in my life.
[02:18:54] Speaker B: Remember, dimnut popped up? Is one of the islands where the magic is the wildest.
[02:18:58] Speaker A: I know.
[02:19:07] Speaker B: All right.
[02:19:08] Speaker A: Okay.
[02:19:09] Speaker B: Okay. Well, we're gonna come back to this.
Also, quick check in. We're getting close to the agreed time cutoff. Do you guys want to keep going for a little more this evening, or are you, like. No, no, no. Whatever.
[02:19:20] Speaker D: I'm gonna do a little more.
[02:19:21] Speaker B: Okay. I figured. But I just wanted to check.
[02:19:23] Speaker D: I'll sleep for the next two weeks if we stop now.
[02:19:25] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, fair. That's considered pause. Back at the caldera. Ro's gone.
[02:19:34] Speaker D: All right.
Does anybody know what we do next?
Like, after this happens, hello's just standing.
[02:19:43] Speaker B: There with Malthe, and Greta's just sitting there, flipping through her journal, trying to figure something out.
You know what I just realized?
[02:19:52] Speaker D: What did you just realize?
[02:19:55] Speaker B: I don't think I'm ruining anything for this.
Cause this isn't much of a secret for five. Ethereum. You guys should really check with Greta that she's aware of the fact that, as an 11th level cleric, she has divine intervention, but that's not for this situation. Just like, somebody should check with her.
[02:20:18] Speaker A: Okay.
[02:20:20] Speaker B: And I refuse to use it for the first time for her. That's not cool. That's, like, the biggest thing a cleric can do. But just someone should make sure she knows because that's literally the strongest feature in the entire game. So someone should let her know she has that. But anywho, just gonna type that in her channel. But anyway.
[02:20:42] Speaker D: Okay, everybody. Does anybody have wine? I have bathtub beer. Okay, I forgot about. I pull out the bathtub beer, and I pour it, and I'm shaking a little bit, and I pour it into my red dragon scale crested, silver flat, like cup, and I swirl it around. I don't have the spell prepared. I cannot cast the spell. But I'm still like, oh, yes, I.
[02:21:09] Speaker B: Think you kind of have it always prepared.
[02:21:12] Speaker D: No, I have to take it from the book.
I can only do that on the long list.
[02:21:17] Speaker B: I can't want to have had prepared it.
[02:21:20] Speaker D: No.
[02:21:21] Speaker B: Okay. Okay, cool.
[02:21:22] Speaker D: Anyhow, I'm just desperately trying to reach out to yellow to not even, like, see the future.
[02:21:29] Speaker B: Give me a persuasion check you out. Hey, he's the mad prince. You're in the chaos. You've got his attention somewhere. Um, okay.
[02:21:39] Speaker D: Persuasion check does tell o want to help me? Like, everybody gather round. Start chanting, yelling or something.
[02:21:45] Speaker B: Teller just leans over and goes. Goes, uh, don't you prince this? I mean, come on. What's more entertaining than this? And you have the. You have the help action. She's muttering and he's muttering it inside.
[02:22:02] Speaker A: I have a beard plus nine.
[02:22:04] Speaker B: That's a 28. Jackie, can you write that quote down?
[02:22:07] Speaker D: I contact the bad prince with persuasion check. 28, drinking bathtub beer.
[02:22:15] Speaker B: Boz, as you swirled the eggshell thing with Batsub year, you watch as it just fills up with a little more bath to beer magically, and you get the sensation the spell is prepared for you.
[02:22:28] Speaker D: Okay. Okay.
What level is it? I think it's a six level spell. Right?
No matter what. I have level. I have. I have slots and everything.
[02:22:40] Speaker B: Yes, but I don't want you to spend too high of a spell slot if you don't need to. What is it from? Is it from the book?
[02:22:46] Speaker D: It's from the Druids almanac. No, the druid.
[02:22:48] Speaker B: The mad Hyundai. Right.
[02:22:51] Speaker D: Yeah.
[02:22:53] Speaker B: Okay.
[02:22:55] Speaker D: Maybe it's a smaller one.
[02:22:58] Speaker B: Yeah, it's not six level. It's lower than that.
Is it under items? No.
If you can find it before I do, that would be very helpful.
[02:23:09] Speaker D: I'm looking, I'm looking, I'm looking.
[02:23:11] Speaker B: Yeah, I know. I'm throwing that at you. Quick ruminations of an arch druid. Let's go, Zach. See this is why we do file organizer.
Okay.
Mad divination of the Mad Prince girl. Fourth level divination. Okay, so much lower.
[02:23:32] Speaker D: Okay, okay, level.
[02:23:36] Speaker B: So you, you whisper the nonsense and cast. And you, you begin muttering. Question, before you do that, could you roll me a D 100, boss?
[02:23:44] Speaker D: Yes. That is a eleven. What if I rolled a 15? That'd have been so hilarious.
[02:23:59] Speaker B: Okay, please put duration 2 hours.
[02:24:04] Speaker A: Okay, do I know the hours? Days? Months.
[02:24:08] Speaker B: Okay, Jackie, the only thing I can say to you is five, six, maybe seven.
[02:24:15] Speaker A: What?
[02:24:17] Speaker B: Boz for 2 hours. So Boz is sitting there muttering, and as you begin swirling in the glass, you just watch as there's just this smoke next to you. And a second Bozz appears exactly as Boz in every way visually similar. And this Boz figure looks, and everyone turns and looks at that Bozz figure. And then that Bozz figure starts going, doing a weird thing with his tongue, then lays down on the ground and just starts flopping and writhing on the stone.
And Greg just covers his mouth in fear. Greta looks shocked, and tello just loads his crossbow and points it at the second boss.
And for the next 2 hours, Boz, you have an illusory double of you that looks exactly like you, sounds exactly like you in every way, but behaves erratically and disturbingly.
So the double of you is just not affecting its environment, but looking and sounding like it's flopping around on the ground, making bizarre vocalizations with its tongue. Uh, what is the question you ask of your chalice?
[02:25:18] Speaker D: I ask of my chalice.
How can the mad prince help it?
[02:25:26] Speaker B: Row back.
Right now, you're. You're aware that I'll just go ahead and tell you. The question is, given that the spell is divinational. So I'm trying to figure out if you will.
[02:25:38] Speaker D: Okay, okay, okay.
[02:25:39] Speaker B: You're learning. I don't want you to waste it because it's a big spell slot. So I want you to like, it will reveal information for you, any information. But, you know, it's very not divine intervention.
[02:25:50] Speaker D: What's the best way to get ro back?
[02:25:54] Speaker B: Okay, wow, wow, wow. What a fascinating question. Go ahead and roll for it. What do I answer to that?
[02:26:02] Speaker D: Okay, okay.
[02:26:06] Speaker B: I'm just.
[02:26:06] Speaker D: I'm waiting because I don't want to.
Okay, I'm just thinking.
That is a 99.
[02:26:17] Speaker B: Are you crapping in my pants?
[02:26:18] Speaker D: I will show you the dice. Right.
[02:26:20] Speaker B: No, no, I believe you. I believe you. I believe you. Twice now, Landon. Twice now this has happened.
You get an exactly clear forward answer, straightforward.
Wow, that's 99.
[02:26:36] Speaker D: Zachary.
[02:26:37] Speaker B: Guys. Episode 117 is insane. Boss, just. Just. You're, like, looking into the cupboard as you like, step backward as no one else sees it, but you just see Yelich and on's massive broad face just immediately in front of yours. Just go look. And you jump backward. And as you blink hard, your mind is just flooded with the awareness of two answers.
One, you become instantaneously aware that somewhere inside of the bewildering keep, there's a doorway that can lead you into any realm into which you desire to tread.
Second of all, you're aware with a 99 that if you wait only but a handful of hours should ro survive, she will return to you.
Take a deep breath, tasting disgusting bathtub beer. You are aware of that information. Row shadow.
[02:27:35] Speaker A: Yeah.
Cool.
[02:27:38] Speaker D: Cool.
Before we go back to the rope, before we go back row, I want to try and contact over the sending stone. It's possible across dimensions. I know it's more difficult.
[02:27:49] Speaker B: True.
No, I'll keep the other music.
[02:27:52] Speaker A: What's funny is that's what I was gonna do the moment it came back to me.
[02:27:56] Speaker B: Uh, you don't have the sending stone.
[02:27:59] Speaker A: I have sending, though. That's.
[02:28:01] Speaker B: I'm so silly. Uh, boss, you hold the sending stone, Craig, as you. As you look afraid, Craig just walks up and goes, whoa.
[02:28:10] Speaker D: Spit it out.
[02:28:11] Speaker B: Let's spits this stone on your hand and goes, yeah, yeah, yeah, totally. As you hold the moist stone and squeeze it. Boz, go ahead and roll me a d 100. Okay.
[02:28:18] Speaker D: Okay.
[02:28:20] Speaker B: Has that ever been a session of D and D with this many d 100.
[02:28:23] Speaker D: That is a 90 and then a B Daw. Is that a 90?
[02:28:28] Speaker B: No.
[02:28:29] Speaker D: Is that a 100?
[02:28:29] Speaker B: No, Landon, that's a 100. Landon, that's a hundred.
[02:28:34] Speaker D: That's a hundred.
[02:28:35] Speaker A: What is that? Is that what? That's insane to roll a 99 and then 100.
[02:28:42] Speaker B: This may be the most statistically improbable session of D and D I've ever seen in my life.
Holy crap, Boz, take inspiration for being that lucky with 100. 100. With a roll of 100, a 1% chance on your d 100 roll, you hear a static and then you feel a connection and row from across the realms where you stand in the silence, you feel a presence in your mind with which you are familiar.
Boz, you have made connection.
[02:29:23] Speaker D: A row. Listen to me.
You are in a bad place. But you will get packed. You will come back here automatically if you can survive for 2 hours.
[02:29:35] Speaker B: 4 hours. 4 hours. 4 hours.
[02:29:36] Speaker D: 4 hours.
[02:29:38] Speaker B: 4 hours. Four.
[02:29:40] Speaker A: No, I rolled a four.
[02:29:41] Speaker D: It's a 4 hours. 4 hours. If you can survive for 4 hours.
[02:29:44] Speaker A: You come back here, only 4 hours, and then it'll. I'll just zap back.
[02:29:49] Speaker D: And then you will zap back.
[02:29:51] Speaker A: But didn't you say, like, time works differently here?
[02:29:54] Speaker D: I don't know.
[02:29:55] Speaker B: You could be gone here for another d 100. For me, it'll build off of your last. Even under goal, actually. T four roll. A d four for.
[02:30:07] Speaker D: Zack. Was there, buddy, when I. When I went to the shadowfell to go get the quote from the place. Is there anything that pixies would have.
[02:30:15] Speaker B: Told me or anything I could have shared with that I could share with.
[02:30:18] Speaker D: Her that I took with me into the shadowfell?
[02:30:22] Speaker B: Yeah. You're gonna be one of. You're gonna want to be really, really careful around that dark tower they sent you to, wherever that was, okay? Stay away from that dark dragon that flies around it. Wherever that is. Somewhere in the entire room.
[02:30:34] Speaker D: Dark tower with a dragon? Stay away from that, bro.
[02:30:38] Speaker B: You hear across the realms. While you're in the shadowfell, would you get on your d four roll?
[02:30:44] Speaker A: I got a four.
[02:30:47] Speaker B: Okay, just continue. Just continue with the scene. Just continue.
[02:30:49] Speaker A: Okay. Okay. Do I need to record that, Zack?
[02:30:53] Speaker B: No, I got it, I got it, I got it. You're good. Holy cow. Grandpa.
[02:30:57] Speaker A: Yeah, I figured I'd stay away from a tower and a dragon.
I'm.
[02:31:02] Speaker B: What are the odds?
[02:31:04] Speaker A: I describe Zach. I describe where I'm at to pause. I describe where I'm at to see if he happened to be there. Just cause Ro doesn't know what to do.
[02:31:16] Speaker B: Boz, you spent a very brief time in a very specific location in tide of an entire realm. You do not recognize what's described to you. Ro.
[02:31:25] Speaker A: Yeah.
[02:31:28] Speaker B: For having struck an incredible inverse of what Baz rolled as Baz has had maybe quite literally the luckiest session of his entire career. And you've had maybe the unluckiest of your entire career, except for all the twenties. The twenties were cool, but in every other way, the unluckiest session you've ever had. Go ahead and also take inspiration, and just think of it as, like, negative inspiration. Like, it's inspiration, but you get it for being so unlucky.
[02:31:58] Speaker A: Okay, cool. Thanks. Thank you.
[02:32:00] Speaker B: There were three percentile possibilities here, and you got the worst results on all three of them.
So I'm thinking of a wild scenario that's gonna happen now.
[02:32:18] Speaker A: Okay.
[02:32:21] Speaker B: Wow.
That. I kept thinking to myself, this is what we'll do, but it'll never happen. I do this a handful of times in the campaign. Where I'm like, here's a crazy scenario, but it won't happen. And you guys always roll away from it the first time someone's rolled to it. So this is like the same situation with the undead crossing's edge, just so much more statistically unlikely.
Anywho, so, ro, you're part of the way through your conversation with Baaz, and then you heard from somewhere in the wood nearby.
[02:33:06] Speaker A: Does it sound like an animal or a human?
[02:33:09] Speaker B: Oh, you know that sound, ro?
[02:33:11] Speaker A: Oh, I know the sound.
[02:33:17] Speaker B: And this giant, semi skeletal hand with thin skin wrapped around its sinuous tissue from the darkness, your eyes cannot pierce through wraps around the edge of a tree nearby and these antlers with skin hanging off begin emerging from the darkness. And you watch as this skeletal, deer like skull emerges from the darkness. And in the single unluckiest stroke possible, you watch the head of the bezorzelbaz emerge from the darkness maybe 40ft away from you, just with sharp inhalations. It's like it's smelling the air. And you remember that the besorsal baz couldn't see and you just stand stock still in the forest clearing with it at the edge.
What you doing wrong?
[02:34:14] Speaker A: You have to with sending you. You have to speak out loud. Right?
You can't think it. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. How far away did you say it?
[02:34:24] Speaker B: I promise, everything that happens next is lore I've had written for years. Continue.
[02:34:30] Speaker A: How far away did you say it is?
[02:34:32] Speaker B: Like 40ft from you.
[02:34:37] Speaker A: I whisper at the most faintest that I can whisper just the single word, the sourzel baz to boz. And then I disconnect.
[02:34:50] Speaker B: Well, you can't just. He's made the connection.
[02:34:52] Speaker A: Oh, that's right, that's right, that's right, that's right.
[02:34:54] Speaker B: That's a really high perception check, bro. You just whisper sorcerer, and you watch as the head and the hollow eye sockets turn toward you and the other hand just reaches out onto the floor and it's just very slowly crawling in your direction, just with the air.
And, ro, you are just struck by the thought, wow, what are those odds?
Also, you have an interesting thought.
I mean, I assume in between thoughts of, I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die.
You didn't know it also lived here.
Like, again, mortal terror. Your character, your role play, just, you know, madame Miskor has control of it somehow. It's weird that it's also here. Anywho, yeah, it's very slowly crawling in your direction.
[02:35:56] Speaker A: Do I know of it? Because we. Boss.
[02:36:00] Speaker B: Yeah. You know about it. Boz told you about it, right? And Greta.
[02:36:03] Speaker A: Okay. That's right.
[02:36:04] Speaker D: I.
[02:36:04] Speaker B: Okay, you're aware that it killed them both in their dreams?
[02:36:08] Speaker A: Yeah. Killed me in Boz's dream.
[02:36:10] Speaker B: Yes. Sorry, not boss. Killed you and Boz's dream and killed Greta in her dream. And in her dream, when that happened, Greta woke up with real issues. Anyway, it's very slowly crawling towards you. And I mean, just like inches at a time. Very slow movements. And it's not looking at you, it's looking near you. Just breathing in the air, very slowly padding your direction.
[02:36:37] Speaker A: Did Boz hear what I said?
[02:36:39] Speaker B: Yeah, Boz, you heard her.
[02:36:41] Speaker A: Did Boz say anything or did he disconnect?
[02:36:44] Speaker B: Boz, what are you doing?
[02:36:45] Speaker D: I.
Don't say another word.
[02:36:51] Speaker B: Okay.
[02:36:56] Speaker D: Do you have any way to get away quickly?
You don't need to fight. You just have to run.
[02:37:04] Speaker A: And that's what I'm thinking. Um.
[02:37:09] Speaker B: Shame boss, isn't one here.
[02:37:11] Speaker A: Uh, ro is. Um.
You have to use. Hold on. You have to use you. Can you make up the components for this?
[02:37:22] Speaker D: And you make a sound. Can you have an illusion? A sound, minor illusion. Can make sounds come from places.
[02:37:33] Speaker A: I don't.
[02:37:33] Speaker D: Can you throw something? Do you have something you can toss at a tree?
[02:37:41] Speaker A: I. Is there what's around me?
[02:37:45] Speaker B: Trees, forest?
[02:37:46] Speaker A: No, I mean, like, on the ground, like by my feet. Is there any, like, rocks or anything?
[02:37:52] Speaker B: Make a very low DC investigation check.
[02:37:55] Speaker A: Okay.
Uh, 14.
[02:38:05] Speaker B: You do not find any rocks, but you do find a small branch maybe 2ft away from you on the ground.
[02:38:13] Speaker A: I dang it. Anything I do takes sound, doesn't it?
[02:38:21] Speaker B: As far as fashion, like forest floor, but. So it's not the loudest, but there's a possibility of making sound. Can you remind me what the benefits of the well blessed ludar?
[02:38:33] Speaker A: Yeah.
Oh, crap.
[02:38:39] Speaker B: I think it's commune once and divination. Or commune a handful of times. And divination a handful of times.
[02:38:46] Speaker A: I don't think so. Does it.
[02:38:51] Speaker D: Really?
[02:38:56] Speaker B: Now remember, spell casting with the loot will require playing it.
[02:39:00] Speaker A: Yeah.
[02:39:01] Speaker B: Saying it's the right call. And also. Yeah, that these spells are helpful in this scenario. I'm just trying to identify that's what it did.
[02:39:07] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[02:39:07] Speaker B: Okay, that's probably not helpful here. Continue. I don't know.
[02:39:12] Speaker A: And boon of deepest truth.
[02:39:15] Speaker B: Okay, anyway, sorry. Please continue.
[02:39:22] Speaker A: If I.
[02:39:22] Speaker B: Okay, bro, it's about 10ft closer.
[02:39:26] Speaker A: Okay, I cast.
How does this spell work? I've never used this spell. It's a can. It's ledgermain. It's the one where I can. Well, no, listen. It's the one where I can do clean away from me.
[02:39:44] Speaker B: Wow, Jackie, that's really slick. Forgot about that.
[02:39:49] Speaker D: What's it. What's it called?
[02:39:51] Speaker A: It's ozmadreacon. It's ledgermane.
[02:39:58] Speaker B: Wow, Jackie.
Wow.
[02:40:02] Speaker A: Because I can throw a small object away from me up to 10ft away from me. So if I could throw it to make a sound 10ft in the other direction.
[02:40:19] Speaker B: Man, that's clever.
[02:40:21] Speaker A: All right, close.
I'm just looking at all the different things I can do. I can move. I can. I can move an object. I can.
Yeah, I'm gonna.
I'm gonna, like, I guess the tiniest of.
[02:40:47] Speaker B: I'm gonna say. Okay, with your level of bard and the fact that this is just a cantrip, you can choose whether or not you want to whistle this or strum this. I am not calling one better than the other. I'm just saying you have that option.
[02:40:59] Speaker A: I can do one or the other.
[02:41:01] Speaker B: And it lasts for up to a minute. No, that's a different effect. Okay. Anyway, sorry, you were saying? Um, also, here's the cool part. No roll.
[02:41:10] Speaker A: Sure.
I think I'm going have it. Well, no, I was gonna say, haven't we talked about how I can almost like.
[02:41:26] Speaker B: What are you doing?
[02:41:27] Speaker A: Okay, I'll just. I'll whistle as quietly as I can, I guess, and have it throw an object. Throw that stick as hard as it can, 10ft away from. Jackie.
[02:41:38] Speaker D: Jackie.
[02:41:38] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah.
[02:41:40] Speaker D: If you play music, use the spider silk. It won't be as loud, but it will still be music.
[02:41:45] Speaker A: But I don't have the spider silk.
[02:41:47] Speaker D: You have your loot. You can make it. Make whatever noise you want.
That's all I'm saying.
I don't know.
[02:41:53] Speaker B: Holy crap.
That's true.
That's true.
[02:41:59] Speaker A: I know. That was funny.
[02:42:00] Speaker B: You have inspirations to it.
[02:42:02] Speaker D: Yes.
[02:42:03] Speaker B: Yeah, go ahead.
Go ahead and put double inspiration. Holy crap. Lando and you and Daniel. Hold on.
[02:42:12] Speaker A: I lost my d 20.
[02:42:15] Speaker B: Wow. Landon.
[02:42:18] Speaker A: Okay, I pluck, and it sounds like the little spider or the silk.
[02:42:23] Speaker B: Okay?
[02:42:24] Speaker A: And I do let your name just.
[02:42:25] Speaker B: As you just go.
You focus so, so hard on the deep magic. You just pull the softest little chord, and you watch as its head just twitches toward you, and there's this little puff of magic, and the branch near you goes.
And the resource, and it turns in that direction, just like, sprints in that direction. What are you doing?
[02:42:53] Speaker A: I use my. My ice. I strum again with the tiniest of. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And I use my last polymorph to shrink down into the tiniest little spider. That will not make any sound.
[02:43:12] Speaker B: Incredible. So the branch and the. The, um, the. As it crashes to the ground, the bezorzobazz goes chasing after it and watches it. Just slides to where the stick is, brings up fists, and just starts smashing the ground where it is. And then you. Another chord, and it stops in the middle of its motion, turns its head toward you, and then, you know, what kind of spider do you turn into?
[02:43:37] Speaker A: I don't know. Spiders.
[02:43:38] Speaker B: Any choice? Anything. You know, I just need to know the base, the most basic differentiation.
[02:43:44] Speaker A: Kind of like a daddy long leg, legs.
[02:43:46] Speaker B: Excellent. You turn. Not a spider, but that doesn't matter. You turn into a daddy dolly. And as you do row. As you do, you become almost completely blind, and you just shoot, and the whole world disappears in darkness around you. The zorza turns back, and you just feel tremor through the ground, and you can't see anything. Yeah, you can feel all the tremors around you, and you have a kind of chemoreceptive understanding of things in different directions, but you're otherwise kind of blind. What are you doing?
[02:44:24] Speaker A: Is it. Is it blind? Because I'm no.
[02:44:28] Speaker B: Terrible vision, and you're already in a dark place.
[02:44:31] Speaker A: Okay. Gotcha. I just go. I scurry as fast as I can away from the trimmers tremors.
[02:44:37] Speaker B: Excellent.
[02:44:38] Speaker A: Yeah.
[02:44:39] Speaker B: Ro, in the darkness with the tiniest, stupidest brain, you run.
But this scale of size, your world is shaking, and it all stops.
And you would start to piece together what that means, but polymorph changes your stats, and as a. As a daddy long legs, you are truly, to use a technical term, stupid.
You call far away.
[02:45:24] Speaker A: I hate this.
[02:45:25] Speaker B: You just stop, and the shaking stops shaking.
[02:45:29] Speaker A: I don't keep going. I keep going.
[02:45:31] Speaker B: Or you can go. Sorry. You have. You have. You have volition. Do you keep going, just keep going? Keep going?
[02:45:35] Speaker A: Yeah, I just. I just keep going.
[02:45:37] Speaker B: You go. You go. You go. You hit something.
[02:45:44] Speaker A: Do I know what it is?
[02:45:45] Speaker B: Whatever it is, it's vertical.
[02:45:48] Speaker A: I does it feel like it's moving?
[02:45:52] Speaker B: You reach up a tiny little leg. Whatever it is, it's solid. Not moving.
[02:45:57] Speaker A: I start crawling up it.
[02:45:59] Speaker B: Oh, wow. You're amazing at climbing. Straight up, up, up.
[02:46:06] Speaker A: Is it a tree?
[02:46:07] Speaker B: Up, up.
Give me an intelligence saving throw.
[02:46:11] Speaker A: Okay.
[02:46:12] Speaker B: And just go ahead and give your roll a minus four.
But it's okay because it's a DC five.
[02:46:19] Speaker A: Okay, well, I got an alarm. Eleven.
[02:46:21] Speaker B: Excellent.
Tree, tree. Straight up and down. Straight up and down.
Tree, tree, tree, tree.
[02:46:31] Speaker D: It's a tree.
[02:46:34] Speaker B: And you climb up a tree. Okay, you've gone up. You're up, up. Okay, shaking has stopped. You're up.
[02:46:43] Speaker A: Okay, um, do I, do I find, like, once I'm up high enough, do I find a horizontal, like a limb?
[02:46:57] Speaker B: You move flat. I wanna go back to flat. You move back to flat. Flat, flat.
You wait. No more shaking.
Row.
You're sitting on a tree branch, like 40ft off the ground. Okay, you row again. Oh, an hour must have passed. Couldn't really tell when you were that stupid.
You're in a tree.
You look down, you see no bezorzo bass, and you hear far away in the darkness, just baleful breathing, cries.
You're there in a tree.
[02:47:41] Speaker A: I.
So I know an hour's passed, and Boz told me 4 hours. So I have three more hours to survive this place, probably.
I want to do an investigation check cause I know I'm in creepy land. So I want to do an investigation check in the tree that I'm sitting in for any, like, creature or anything that could be hanging out in the.
[02:48:04] Speaker B: Tree, looking around carefully. That's a tree.
[02:48:07] Speaker A: Okay, well, it could have been a spooky bat or something. Okay, you know what?
[02:48:12] Speaker B: Fair enough. Let's put the possibility of a spooky creature. No, go ahead and. No, I won't go ahead and odds or evens?
[02:48:18] Speaker A: Odds, because Boz is an odd guy.
[02:48:21] Speaker B: 13.
There is no hollow eyed raven to caw and give your position away. Wow, finally your luck has turned. Also. Landon, dope hat, bro. You're sitting in the branch. Do you do anything specific, or do you.
[02:48:36] Speaker A: Wait, no, I.
[02:48:37] Speaker B: Wait, let me do 100.
[02:48:39] Speaker A: I. Okay.
[02:48:42] Speaker B: Anything above a ten is a good result.
[02:48:45] Speaker A: Okay.
Oh, no.
[02:48:51] Speaker D: Do you have inspiration? Can you use inspiration? Reroll a 100, Zachary, if you need to.
[02:48:56] Speaker A: What is a. Okay? A zero on the d. Ten is what?
It's ten. And then I rolled a ten, so that's a 20.
[02:49:07] Speaker B: So, Ro, as you sit there still and you wait in tepid silence, it occurs to you that this might be where you die. Oh, back in the caldera. And like, like, you come back and Greta's just hyper, like, craig's just hyperventilating, and Greta's just like, like, muttering and praying to ioon, and Tello's just like, running his hair, his fingers along his afro and rose back.
[02:49:37] Speaker A: Oh, man, she's soaked in sweat.
[02:49:41] Speaker D: No more spells, guys. No more spells. We're gonna say no spells right now.
[02:49:45] Speaker B: You look back, and sweat is dripping down Ro's luscious beard.
[02:49:51] Speaker D: She did all that in a beard? That's the coolest part.
[02:49:55] Speaker A: If you hadn't have reminded me about the silk sound, I'd probably be dead.
[02:50:08] Speaker B: Well, I'm glad you're not Greta or ro. Could you roll me a D 100?
[02:50:13] Speaker A: No.
What if I just don't do it?
[02:50:19] Speaker D: She goes back.
[02:50:23] Speaker B: Again. Not an insidious dm.
[02:50:26] Speaker A: Why am I having so much trouble.
[02:50:27] Speaker B: If you are lower than me?
[02:50:29] Speaker A: Luckily, what is double zeroes?
[02:50:32] Speaker B: Zero.
[02:50:33] Speaker A: Double zeros is zero.
Oh, no.
I rolled a six.
[02:50:40] Speaker B: Okay, well, this is the reverse on this one. All you were trying to do is roll lower than me, so I rolled an 85. Okay, you're just sitting there in the gravity of this moment, and you hear, you watch as, from the clear pool behind you, this little bubble floats up.
It pops, and this, like, acerbic fluid, the acid, hits the mineral floor and begins burning. And where it burns, there's this quick little, like, chemical reaction, and all this white foam lifts and then suddenly cools.
Holy crap. A pearl just formed on the ground.
[02:51:26] Speaker A: I pick it up.
[02:51:29] Speaker B: With your gloved hand. You want to touch it?
No burning.
Go ahead and roll me a d four.
[02:51:39] Speaker A: Okay.
[02:51:42] Speaker B: Guys, crazy one, you are holding a tiny, little 100 gold value pearl.
[02:51:51] Speaker A: Wow.
[02:51:54] Speaker B: Rough, not smooth, but.
And Ro is stunned as she learns, according to this plane of reality, the completely wrong way that pearls are formed according to the physics of a different reality. But Ro's like, whoa, that's where it comes from. And there's just a huge amount of misinformation for jalabrin seated in Ro now.
[02:52:16] Speaker D: All right, guys, this has been a fun field trip. You know the part about the magic school bus where the kid's like, I should have stayed in bed today?
I think. I don't know.
[02:52:28] Speaker B: I don't know what the bus is, but I want to get on it and go, yeah, let's get on the.
[02:52:32] Speaker D: Carpet and the leaf. Leaf pit. And I agree. And down somewhere else.
[02:52:44] Speaker B: Craig's just going, yeah, just stress throws up real quick.
[02:52:52] Speaker A: I want it to be clear that Ro is so stressed of what just happened that she hasn't even prestidigitated all the sweat and dirt off her.
[02:53:04] Speaker B: Wow.
[02:53:05] Speaker A: Also, I'd like to note that my guitar is hanging right in front of me, and I did name my guitar Bezorzalbaz a long time ago.
[02:53:13] Speaker B: So that's metal. Yeah, boz, you roll out the leaf I just.
[02:53:19] Speaker D: Before I do.
[02:53:20] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, go ahead.
[02:53:21] Speaker D: Yes. Before I do, I want to take out one of the vials of Dolgoth's poison that I have, dump it out, and fill it with the acid.
[02:53:31] Speaker B: Could you give.
Could you give me a sciences check? Not a high DC.
[02:53:37] Speaker D: Okay, okay. Before I do anything, I will do the sciences check. And I assume that's intelligence bonus, right?
[02:53:44] Speaker B: Yes. Yeah, it's a twelve. Okay? Not a high DC DC ten.
You are no alchemist, but you have the most fundamental understanding of this. The most fundamental understanding. You know what poison is? You know what acid is? Acid is bad for material. Poison is bad for, like, creatures, okay? And you're like, okay, vial is meant to hold poison. It's glass.
Acid will probably melt the vial. Okay, true.
[02:54:17] Speaker D: Never mind. I don't do that.
[02:54:18] Speaker B: Now, that doesn't mean a magical controller container couldn't contain this, but just not the glass vial.
[02:54:25] Speaker D: Okay.
[02:54:28] Speaker A: Okay.
[02:54:29] Speaker D: Is there anything that we need to destroy? Maybe like an evil ring created by a dark wizard who wants to rule the world?
[02:54:36] Speaker B: Um, boss goes. Or, uh, Craig goes. Well, I've had the one ring on me all this time, but I don't know what. That's joking.
[02:54:45] Speaker A: Um, I mean, can't we just send them here instead of. I can't tell.
[02:54:54] Speaker B: Is climbing on the leaf going, uh, rode to go.
[02:54:57] Speaker A: Yeah, same. And Ro gets on and goes, I. Boss, you're gonna have to drive for a bit.
[02:55:04] Speaker B: I could drive. Okay, just in the spirit of the insanity of this aisle, could I get one lasty 100 roll?
[02:55:10] Speaker A: I'm not doing it.
[02:55:11] Speaker D: I'll do it. I'll do it.
[02:55:13] Speaker B: Wow, Jackie didn't volunteer to roll by this one.
Okay, I'll roll to 100.
[02:55:21] Speaker D: Is the boss second boss still there?
[02:55:23] Speaker B: 64. Yeah. This is very important. 62nd, boss. The second pause is just. The illusory pause is there on all fours, just mooing. Just mooing real hard. Not mewing, mooing like a cow.
[02:55:42] Speaker A: Ro kind of points like she wants to talk about it, but then she goes, I'm not even gonna ask.
[02:55:48] Speaker B: And it's the illusory box on all fours going, mo, you guys climb on the leaf and. Cause I got a 64.
I just keep alternating back and forth between good and bad. On lower and higher, this side of the mountain begins rumbling. The ground is shaking.
The leaf is there. I assume you guys all get on it.
[02:56:11] Speaker D: Yeah, I put it in fast mode.
[02:56:14] Speaker B: You pull on the stem and twist really hard, and you guys lift off. And as you begin lifting off into the air and flying away from dimnap popnap or dim dot panop, and flying up in the air, you look back. First of all, the illusory boss goes with you.
So you're flying away into the sky, and the illusory boss is just flying through the air with you. Not in a flying motion, just like in the air with you.
[02:56:43] Speaker D: Last for 2 hours. He should be gone now. Jackie was gone for four.
[02:56:47] Speaker B: I know, but it's really funny.
[02:56:48] Speaker A: It is funny.
[02:56:49] Speaker D: Okay, fine. It's fine.
[02:56:51] Speaker B: I was gonna have him disappear. And so as you're flying away, the illusory boss is floating in the sky next to you at the same speed, just shuffling. And then all of a sudden, it disappears. And as you guys fly away from the aisle, you look back at dimdapanap and the mountain is just.
Then the shaking stops until, like, the side of the mountain, maybe 200ft down, shakes, and there's just a really quick, like, fissure sound, like a cracking sound. And this huge beam of light, just.
Just one single out really quickly. And whereas that flash of sudden radiance, nothing happens. And then 400ft away, this giant pillar of stone just falls down where 500ft of rock was just sliced through by some sudden beam of radiance in an instant.
[02:57:43] Speaker A: Exactly where we were.
[02:57:45] Speaker B: No, 200ft away.
But enough. Enough sudden radiant energy to carve through almost every. Any living creature was just suddenly summoned. And then you guys begin flying away. And as you fly away from the broken land after that, insanity is where we will end. Episode 117 what goes up.
[02:58:11] Speaker A: And did a lot differently.
[02:58:14] Speaker B: You definitely don't gain the standard level for that. You're going to gain some additional experience. So you guys gained 0.08 levels because, I mean, you escaped the bezorzo pass.
And honestly, I think this thing was worth a lot of XP.
[02:58:30] Speaker A: Yeah. Six nine.
[02:58:32] Speaker D: He's a good boy.
[02:58:34] Speaker A: He's a good boy.
[02:58:36] Speaker B: Know that.
[02:58:39] Speaker D: We'Re blood brothers. He's a good boy.
[02:58:42] Speaker B: For the duration of that spell, you are saying, be treated creature with kindness.
[02:58:51] Speaker A: To our home.
[02:58:53] Speaker B: I mean, depending on what that creature is, that could very well be true. I mean, that you may have formed a lasting bond. Maybe it's a creature of absolute violence. Maybe you've just changed its whole life. Who knows? But the whole geese has flown away. The fungi fly off into the sunset, and you've left dim dap and up behind.
Wild. I've been waiting for this insane whimsy. Anywho, great session, listeners. Patrons. Really cool. Patron, one shot is coming up. We're deciding the time with the patrons now. But I don't know what to say after that session. Life's an incredible adventure. You're an important part of it.
Skippity wab dada, I guess. I don't know.
[02:59:41] Speaker A: Yeah.
[02:59:43] Speaker B: Ciao.
