Episode Transcript
[00:00:11] Speaker A: Hi, welcome back to Fairly dnd. This is your startup Dungeons and Podcast. And, guys, I know that you always make me like the intro, but I always hit this snag for every single time I want to say this is your host, but there's no host.
[00:00:31] Speaker B: And I think that's why we have.
[00:00:32] Speaker A: You do it, why my brain works this way. Like, what do you say after you get done saying those things?
[00:00:40] Speaker B: Welcome back to Braylee dd. This is shorted under Dragons podcast.
And then I just start talking about, like, anything else, like, you know, like the episode or letter questionnaire.
[00:00:48] Speaker A: Like, we just don't really.
[00:00:50] Speaker B: And in fact, I don't know that, like, I'm your host has ever really been a part of it either. I don't know.
[00:00:56] Speaker A: No, no, it hasn't. But that. I don't know why my brain does this.
[00:01:00] Speaker B: Anyways, I also. When Craig came on this time, the mal recording, there was, like, a delay longer than usual, and I was like, is it going? And then it, like, came late.
[00:01:10] Speaker A: No, because I remember it all the time. I started talking immediately, and then y'all were like, wait, no, it just started recording. Now I've learned what happened. Not the host thing, but I've learned anyways. Anyways.
[00:01:23] Speaker B: Well, clearly barely D and D. Clearly. Accidental adventures. Oh.
[00:01:26] Speaker C: I would like to note for the listeners that today is November 1st when we're recording this. See, yesterday was Halloween. I just feel like that's important context.
[00:01:35] Speaker B: If we talk about Halloween a lot. Two weeks after Halloween when you hear this. That's why I just want to bring.
[00:01:41] Speaker C: The listeners into our world.
[00:01:43] Speaker B: You know what I'm saying?
[00:01:50] Speaker C: From their world, into our world, into podcast.
[00:01:54] Speaker B: It's a good, good sense.
[00:01:56] Speaker A: Thank you.
[00:01:56] Speaker B: I liked it.
[00:01:57] Speaker A: What's the question?
[00:02:00] Speaker B: Yeah, let it. Or question.
[00:02:02] Speaker A: What did we decide on?
[00:02:04] Speaker B: What would your character give out to trick or treaters on Halloween? Or maybe how would your character react when they open the door? I don't know. Oh, before we do anything else, people who were at the Halloween party last night, I don't know how many of you know this about me. You may. You may not. When I get scared, I punch.
And when those four high school girls thought it'd be really funny to stand close to the door and start screaming a Christmas Carol when I opened it. I almost killed a high school girl last night. Like, nobody saw because everybody was looking what was in front of them.
[00:02:36] Speaker D: You did.
[00:02:37] Speaker B: But I got really startled, and I put a foot forward, clenched a fist, and cocked an arm halfway up my hip. And then, like.
Like, I like. I was like. I like registered like high school girls. And I didn't launch, but I almost decked one of them.
[00:02:51] Speaker D: And like, like 30 seconds after that, you use came and stood by me. And he goes, and he. And Zach goes, I just almost punched a high school.
[00:03:01] Speaker B: Okay, yes, I did tell someone.
[00:03:02] Speaker A: Yes.
Terrifying.
So funny.
[00:03:07] Speaker C: This was like four or five high school girls dressed as Magic Mike.
[00:03:14] Speaker A: No, no, there were like six or seven.
[00:03:16] Speaker D: Yeah, there were like eight. Ok. They were all just Magic Mike all.
[00:03:20] Speaker C: Singing Jingle Bell Rock. This was the second time that this had been to our house. The first time they came and I was like, oh, that's a lot of. That's a lot of kids. And I was like, who are you dressed as? And they were like, magic Mike. And I was like, how old are you? And then they came back and they sang it was a Christmas Carol.
[00:03:36] Speaker A: Which is funny because I was dressed as Christmas.
[00:03:39] Speaker C: True. We had two people dressed in Christmas outfits.
[00:03:43] Speaker B: That's true. Anywho, so your npc, how would they react to trick or treaters? Or what would they give out? And you guys said you wanted the DM NPC to be the Bazor Zelbez.
[00:03:52] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:03:53] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:03:54] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:03:55] Speaker A: Can I be real? I'll be so real. I actually liked Zach's first question with the what would your character be scared of?
[00:04:05] Speaker C: Listen to that.
[00:04:06] Speaker A: Because, like, what is the bizarrezelbas? Can I hand out for how we.
[00:04:09] Speaker B: Have two episodes so we can just.
We can just ask the second one at the.
Nobody explained why they laughed. Nobody explained. Nobody explained why they laughed. Nobody acknowledged it. We're just going to move on. No one's going to explain.
We can do the second question in the second episode. We have two episodes.
Okay, Grieba. What would. What would Grieba give out? Or how would Greta react for trick or treaters, man, that comment was killer. Okay.
[00:04:47] Speaker C: Gruba would give out.
I want to say, like, at a time, she would give out bugs. She would give out, like, candied bugs.
[00:04:57] Speaker D: Candied bugs?
[00:04:59] Speaker C: Yeah, like candied bugs. Like, they're covered in. They're like caramelized bugs. But I also think that there's a universe, maybe in the future, there's like a future world where Greta hints out like, little round cakes, but they're just like. They're like really tough and chewy. It's something that her family would have made and carried with some.
But they're. It's like a. It's like a. It's like a. Like a little, like not hard. Like maybe hard tack Adjacent, but more like just very chewy. It's like a bread, and they make it and they carry it with.
[00:05:34] Speaker B: No, she was not doing. Sorry, one second. She was not doing a thing to you.
[00:05:39] Speaker C: It's just, like, very vaguely sweet, but it's, like, very herby and earthy. Like, the kids are getting, like, oh, okay.
[00:05:50] Speaker D: I'm getting, like. Like, granola bar vibes. But bread.
[00:05:55] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. Very much like a shortcake, but, like, the slightest hint of sweet. Like a sweeten my herbs.
[00:06:05] Speaker B: We have two cats now, and Maya jumped up and attacked Luna for no reason on the table. Sorry, Craig.
[00:06:13] Speaker D: Yes.
[00:06:14] Speaker B: Hey, Landon. We're doing the letter question also. Neither here nor there. Just for your. Oh, also wave your hands over your head if everything's okay with.
[00:06:24] Speaker E: Oh, yeah, no, everything's fine.
[00:06:25] Speaker B: Excellent. Okay. I'll talk to you about it during the break. Okay, great. We are doing a letter to question for what would your character give out during Halloween? Or how would they react to trick or treaters? And we are not acknowledging a certain thing until later.
[00:06:43] Speaker E: Got it. All right, so I should put it away. I shouldn't have it out right now.
[00:06:48] Speaker B: All right, Craig, what would yours be?
[00:06:51] Speaker A: So you know how, like, Craig has had this thing for, like, rock candy. He's like, oh, my gosh. Like, where is it? I cannot find this naturally.
[00:07:01] Speaker B: Eternal search.
[00:07:02] Speaker D: This.
[00:07:03] Speaker A: This naturally, like, created candy of rock. You know, that's why he eats all the rocks. So I think that he would spend a lot of time in caves licking rocks, trying to find rock candy, because the ideal thing is to give out rock candy, but then ask someone, and this would be the exact day that he finds out rock candy is made as candy and not as rock.
[00:07:26] Speaker B: Heartbreaking.
[00:07:27] Speaker C: Hilarious.
[00:07:28] Speaker A: That would be the exact day that he finds out that his wife is alive.
[00:07:31] Speaker B: So in context now, the answer to the question is, a child comes to Craig's door, knocks, and Craig goes, do you have rock candy? And then the child looks at the grown man and goes, dude, it's just candy. And Craig goes.
[00:07:46] Speaker A: Oh, man. And then he spent the rest of the Halloween crying in his house. Oh, so sad. I know.
[00:07:53] Speaker E: Has a lot of breakdowns. Maybe she likes the therapist.
[00:07:58] Speaker B: He's been doing better lately. Yeah, that feels like beginning of campaign.
[00:08:02] Speaker E: Craig, big time Mike is like, why are you coming at me? Right into the middle of the episode?
[00:08:05] Speaker D: Go to therapy.
[00:08:08] Speaker B: Wow. Sounds like your character could really get some help.
[00:08:13] Speaker D: Ro, like me would love Halloween. And she would probably always dress up and go way over the top. If she had a home, she Would decorate it.
I don't mean.
[00:08:29] Speaker B: That was a full spit take you got out of me. Not just because I had forgotten it had been a hot second since you said the orphan thing. And you said it right when it.
[00:08:39] Speaker D: Wasn'T even using it as an orphan thing. I just mean, like, none of us own a home. None of our characters, like, own a home.
[00:08:45] Speaker C: Well, we used to, and then it burned down.
[00:08:47] Speaker D: Yeah, we had one. It got burned down.
[00:08:51] Speaker B: Excuse you. You do. The home did not burn down.
[00:08:54] Speaker D: Oh, that's true. That's true.
[00:08:56] Speaker B: Your home's fine. Still out there.
[00:08:58] Speaker A: Out of his home.
[00:08:59] Speaker D: Anyway.
[00:09:01] Speaker E: Anyway, there's a big tree outside. I can take us there if you want. Tomorrow.
[00:09:06] Speaker D: No, I mean, deep down, from the.
[00:09:09] Speaker B: Bottom of my DM heart, please do the things in the Lost Lands I've planned. But, yes, an option at any time.
[00:09:14] Speaker E: No, I will not. I will not do that.
[00:09:17] Speaker B: No, I know you wouldn't. I said that because Abby made a face of pure joy. What were you saying, Jackie?
[00:09:23] Speaker D: Yeah, but she'd be really into it. I think every time she opened the door, she'd be, like, prestidigitating like, bats and Sparkles and Halloween stuff. And I think she'd. I think she would get really into it. And instead of, like, candy, she'd.
Excuse me. She'd, like, bake things, like, bake cupcakes and, like, homemade candies and stuff like that.
[00:09:48] Speaker B: The best one on the street.
[00:09:49] Speaker D: Yeah, she'd be, like, handing out all this stuff, and then she'd be like. Then after they ate them, she'd, like, prestidigitate their teeth so they didn't get cavities.
[00:10:01] Speaker B: The extent of medical power. Prestigitation.
Why didn't acknowledge it?
[00:10:10] Speaker E: Boz would give away slugs.
[00:10:12] Speaker B: Oh, okay.
[00:10:15] Speaker C: Are they tasty? Are they meant to be eaten or are they pets?
[00:10:18] Speaker E: No, they're like, pets.
[00:10:19] Speaker B: They're like.
[00:10:19] Speaker E: You're supposed to take them and take care of them, but I fear the children don't know that.
[00:10:23] Speaker C: I don't know about that. That's like giving a kid. That's like getting a kid a bun for Easter.
You want that one?
[00:10:30] Speaker F: What?
[00:10:35] Speaker E: No one. No one in the. No in Agba is gonna get a living animal and think, oh, I gotta eat this right now. And you know what I mean?
[00:10:44] Speaker A: I feel like boss would have a sign that says, take one. And then, like, they're like, oh, yay, slugs. And then, like, grab a handful. And that's, like, your first cue that they're not taking them as a Pet. They're taking them as, like, why?
[00:10:57] Speaker E: You know, they don't like slugs where I'm from, Micah.
[00:11:02] Speaker A: They don't.
[00:11:03] Speaker E: They don't eat them. They're pets.
[00:11:10] Speaker B: Yes. The bazoors Labaz who you all insisted upon is the DMN PC.
Anyone who came to the door, he would what so quickly given out maul to death. Anyone who came to the door.
Okay, that is a great question. So you know, the Baz was once a person. So the bizarre Baz's former person.
[00:11:37] Speaker D: That's so smart.
[00:11:38] Speaker B: Land sad. Probably would have given out like. Like dried candied fruits.
[00:11:44] Speaker D: And that's not sad.
[00:11:45] Speaker B: They would have taken a long time complimenting all the children.
[00:11:50] Speaker E: Zack has written the story of the person the Zorzalbas used to be.
[00:11:54] Speaker B: And Jackie made a face like, it's weird, but it's sad because the person would have loved children and was a very nice person. And now.
[00:12:00] Speaker E: Now they will eat them. That's the sad part. Because they'll devour that comes to the door. And they used to love.
[00:12:05] Speaker B: Can't even. Can't even eat. Just beat to death and walk away. No hunger. Stomach full of sand.
[00:12:10] Speaker E: Any Reagan created, by the way.
[00:12:13] Speaker B: That's true. That's true. Wow.
What's up with Reagan? Anywho, this is episode 118 of the Accidental Adventures. So for the note taking.
[00:12:24] Speaker D: Yes.
[00:12:25] Speaker B: 18. Who can. 118. Unless I'm super.
[00:12:29] Speaker D: No, you right.
[00:12:30] Speaker E: You're right. I miscount.
[00:12:31] Speaker B: Okay. So that really scared me too much. That's okay. Really scared me.
So episode 118 of the Accidental Adventures.
Bard's Ballad Bars Ballad Barge Ballad.
[00:12:47] Speaker D: What? I'm a bar.
[00:12:57] Speaker B: Title. The Jack is just like.
So it is a level 11 adventure. The date is 3488. Papa Kalilon 9.
Abby, do you still take notes out of curiosity?
[00:13:13] Speaker C: Sometimes.
[00:13:15] Speaker B: Sometimes. Just when it's key.
[00:13:16] Speaker C: Having knowledge today.
[00:13:19] Speaker B: Okay. Okay.
That wasn't like a pressure. I was just curious. You know, we've been doing this for years. I was curious.
[00:13:26] Speaker C: No, I do sometimes. But I have. I used to do it online. Now I'm back to paper notes. But I'm just.
[00:13:33] Speaker B: Yeah, it's about like the key moments then, I guess. Or whenever there's an animal. Okay. All right.
[00:13:40] Speaker E: I take notes throughout every single session. I just want you to know that same.
[00:13:44] Speaker B: Yeah, it's interesting how the. How the roles have changed. Okay, so.
[00:13:50] Speaker D: Fungus almost full.
[00:13:52] Speaker B: You are leaving.
Dim not pop up.
[00:13:57] Speaker E: Wait, did Micah. Can we give Micah, like a quick brief?
[00:14:01] Speaker C: We did.
[00:14:02] Speaker E: You Did. Did you hear about Boss's ex wife?
[00:14:05] Speaker D: Oh, I forgot about.
[00:14:07] Speaker B: Oh, no, she wasn't.
[00:14:08] Speaker E: She was. You met.
[00:14:10] Speaker B: You met Boss's ex wife?
[00:14:12] Speaker E: Yeah.
[00:14:15] Speaker A: Okay, so what?
[00:14:18] Speaker B: So the part as the party flies away on the flying leaf from Dib Dot. Pop, there's no catch.
[00:14:25] Speaker E: It was just Boss's ex wife.
[00:14:27] Speaker D: We all were married, like a day, maybe two.
[00:14:30] Speaker E: I don't know.
[00:14:34] Speaker B: So as the party flies away from Dibdop Pom atop the giant flying leaf, and you leave behind the island of roiling chaos, you sail over just the unnamed.
I guess we could call it the Agbanian Ocean. But you just sail atop the wild madness, leaving behind that chaotic land, and you guys head off to your next destination, which you intend to be Foo Foomph.
As the party sails to start us right off. Blaz, could you make a surprise check to correctly determine the group setting?
[00:15:15] Speaker E: If I have a check? I mean, just wait. Wait one moment. I gotta make a survival check.
My survival is plus 10. I thought you said a Bible check.
[00:15:29] Speaker B: That's 23. 23 at you, man.
[00:15:32] Speaker E: Boz, with guidance. That's 27.
[00:15:34] Speaker B: So, okay, as you sense the landscape around you, your magical connection to Agba, both with.
Both with the deep magic and the first flame infused in you, and your natural connection to this land, you sense the heading of Foo Foomph to the northwest, and you begin veering the leaf in that direction and you sail it on.
[00:15:58] Speaker E: I am the publisher of the Druids Almanac. I know my way around the world. Okay, this is not.
This is easy. I close my eyes. I close my eyes to do it.
[00:16:10] Speaker C: I have a question.
[00:16:12] Speaker D: How far?
[00:16:12] Speaker C: Oh, my question is very simple. Are we going to Foo Fump?
[00:16:21] Speaker D: Well, it's on the way of. To the island with the. With the stuff. And we were told that that possibly is where Ro's father resides.
[00:16:36] Speaker C: I missed. I missed this conversation. So I'm just.
[00:16:39] Speaker D: Oh, okay.
[00:16:40] Speaker C: I'm just curious, but thank you.
[00:16:42] Speaker B: There's been a lot of episode hopping with Micah and Abby. It's a fair question. It's a fair question, but it is.
[00:16:47] Speaker D: We're heading on the way. It's the next island on the way to.
[00:16:52] Speaker C: Got it.
[00:16:53] Speaker E: The island.
[00:16:54] Speaker B: It's both an important pit stop and also like, maybe Rose. Dad is there possibly.
[00:16:59] Speaker E: So we can skip though, if you just don't want to go there.
[00:17:04] Speaker C: So wait, where are.
[00:17:05] Speaker E: We don't want to go? We can just go to the next one instead.
[00:17:09] Speaker C: So that I'm. So that I'm on the Right. Page Foo is a pit stop, but also where their dad might be.
Where are we going?
[00:17:19] Speaker B: You all are headed to Curfton. Onto Lumulo because.
No, no, curved. And onto Lumulo. And so note taking, nerd, if you care. It's K u r P H apostrophe tnat Apostrophe A L L A M apostrophe Kurftonantalam Y L O T H.
Yeah. So Kurftenantalomuloth. And that is the island of Madness, or the Wild island, or the Strange Island.
And it is here where it's basically. I mean, Yelik Tananth has dominion over all sorts of places in Fae realms and is common in all the lost lands. But it's basically kind of like, in a way, his ey. And at the center of Kirftenanta Lomulath is Kirftenantal Amuleth Badrinded. And that's the bewildering keep in Pixie Sylvan. It is his like sort of magical hour. And you guys intend on going through the whole thing to try and get the Book of Many Secrets so that you might find the answer as to what to do with the bees.
[00:18:25] Speaker C: Amazing. Okay, thank you. I appreciate the pit stop for my brain.
[00:18:29] Speaker B: No problem.
[00:18:32] Speaker D: Boss.
[00:18:33] Speaker E: Yeah.
[00:18:34] Speaker D: How far away is the next island?
[00:18:39] Speaker E: If it's near where I remember it being, it's however long the DM says. I think it is away.
[00:18:46] Speaker B: Ro, you do remember Baz discussing about how these islands move?
[00:18:49] Speaker D: Oh, that's right.
[00:18:51] Speaker B: So it's okay. A lot of stuff happens. But you do remember Baz talking about how the islands literally move and you just have to go toward them and kind of find out.
[00:19:00] Speaker E: Yeah.
[00:19:00] Speaker D: Okay. Well, if you need me to. To steer, I. I can.
[00:19:06] Speaker E: I liked it when Craig did it that one time. That was fine.
[00:19:10] Speaker D: I didn't. I didn't.
That's why. That's why I took it a point of exhaustion so that he would stop eating away.
[00:19:20] Speaker E: What? I can't hear you.
[00:19:21] Speaker A: I thought I was a natural born leader in steering.
[00:19:25] Speaker E: That's why I gave it to you.
[00:19:27] Speaker A: Yeah, but I thought Jack not well, thought. Ro also agreed with that.
[00:19:32] Speaker B: The Big Mike.
[00:19:33] Speaker D: I don't think I ever said that.
[00:19:37] Speaker B: Tello just leans in to Craig and like, just very quietly puts his chin over Craig's ear and whispers, man, that sure is bad. That thing Rose said and then leans back like the evil.
Okay, that joke didn't land. It's the b sails on her through the sky. Why is Tello not all the jokes Sometimes they aren't good.
And.
And the party flies.
I was flying.
And the party stills on all the way until. No, we'll go with this one.
All the way until the sun dips beyond the horizon and night falls and eventually you all are sailing or flying. That's really throwing me over open ocean and just in the dark of the night with stars sprawling above. And who is. Who is flying the leaf? It's a weird sentence. Who's feeling it?
[00:20:41] Speaker E: Because I'm. I'm the one that knows how to navigate the lost. Wait, okay, how long have I been flying it for?
[00:20:47] Speaker B: Well, it was day and now it's.
[00:20:49] Speaker E: Night, so I no longer would like to fly the sleeve. Can someone please step up and do it instead?
[00:20:55] Speaker D: Gosh, I knew it quite a bit and figured out a little bit of the navigation. No, I know.
[00:21:00] Speaker A: Hated on me for trying to help.
[00:21:02] Speaker D: No, I know you did, Buzz. I'm just saying that I can. If you tell me which direction to go, I.
[00:21:10] Speaker B: That way, we can assume you guys are.
[00:21:12] Speaker E: And then I said no way. No, no, no. That way for sure. Over there.
[00:21:16] Speaker D: Are you lying to me?
[00:21:18] Speaker E: Why would I point us in the wrong way?
[00:21:21] Speaker D: I go that way.
[00:21:24] Speaker B: I get on.
[00:21:24] Speaker E: The ascending stone and I call Dolgoth ghosts. Everything according to plan. I just sent them the wrong way on purpose.
[00:21:33] Speaker B: Ro, as you're flying in the Leaf, the dark lid of night has shut out the sun and ushered back the strange sphere of separated darkness observed as you fly over the open ocean, where the sky above has thickened into a countless coloration of astral bodies. And it's turned the lightless belly of moving blackness below into an unclear scene. So that black ocean below is just this empty belly of darkness. And above you you have that vaulted ceiling of the black heaven filled with stars. But they reflect on the waves, so it's kind of hard to tell where the vividness of the night sky and the sort of more opaque reflection of the ocean below begins and stops. Tuilo and Tuila are ever so slightly further apart. Bright circles in the light filled sky. And their smeared shadows of light are the only indicator of the ocean's presence below as they fade in long strips along the light silhouetted waves. And they're fairly far away from each other now you can see where in the coming month or so you'll really only be able to see one in the night sky at a time.
And Ro, since you are flying the leaf, there was going to be a check involving perception. But now I'm Booboo the Clown because your passive perception is 20, right?
[00:22:57] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:22:58] Speaker B: Yep. I'm Boo Boo the Clown.
And so instead of having you make a check, I'm just gonna tell you what you see.
[00:23:06] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:23:09] Speaker B: As you fly over, you notice in the ocean below, strange masses of muddled color, opaque at the wave surface.
It's, well, passive perception 20.
The lights are not being reflected from the sky above.
They're coming from beneath the nights. The black water's pitch. Glassy surface.
You'd guess numerous of the thousands in whatever their source or kind.
[00:23:44] Speaker D: Does it.
I mean, does it look like. Is it moving in the water or.
[00:23:51] Speaker B: You'Re a couple hundred feet up? It's a little hard to tell, but you can see the colors. It's like. It's like blinking lights.
[00:23:58] Speaker D: Blinking?
[00:24:00] Speaker B: Sort of.
[00:24:02] Speaker D: Is it going, like, a specific rhythm?
[00:24:05] Speaker B: No. Well, okay, give me an investigation.
No investigation. Give me an investigation.
[00:24:15] Speaker D: Artistry. No. Musician. Check.
[00:24:18] Speaker B: Give me a performance show.
[00:24:20] Speaker D: Oh, investigation, you say that's gonna be a 24?
[00:24:29] Speaker B: No, it's. No. Very irregular, very, very atonal, and all over the place. It's a.
[00:24:41] Speaker D: Like, how much are we talking? Like, for miles or like, goes a long way.
[00:24:47] Speaker B: But it's hard to tell. You're high above the night ocean, so it's hard to tell whether or not like a thousand feet out you lose sight or if it's just like it's being lost in the darkness or it has something to do with the motion of the waves.
[00:25:03] Speaker D: I would, like, can I. How. Well, do. Do I know how to drive this thing? Like, can I go a little lower?
[00:25:10] Speaker B: I mean, you know how to. You've flown this thing on and off for a couple days now.
So you push down on the stem, squeezing it softly, and the leaf just glides down. Everyone else on the leaf is asleep so far, I assume, and nobody else wakes up with a gentle glide. And you just move it. How close to the ocean?
[00:25:33] Speaker D: Like, I don't know, like, 20, 30ft above.
[00:25:42] Speaker B: Okay, 20, 30ft above the waves. The ocean is just not boiling, but just not violent waves, but just, you know, the surface moving up and down with constant undulation. And as you get close to the water.
Oh, wow. Okay. Well, Ro, there's no question here. You know exactly what these are.
You are over the surface of the water, and you see a lot of bioluminescent squid, the same that you saw more than half a year ago. Oh, my God.
These are the deep lights. You remember these from the Sea of Storms.
And could you give me a.
Do you, Abby?
[00:26:35] Speaker C: Yeah, I feel like I Remember this as me, but I don't know if this is just something. I think I remember this.
[00:26:46] Speaker B: I believe you do. This was. This was.
[00:26:50] Speaker C: I knew it. I knew it.
[00:26:51] Speaker B: No, this is way, way, way, way, way, way. This was before you guys got one.
But this was before you got to.
No, this was before.
Okay.
[00:27:07] Speaker E: We'Re all excited about the moment, Zach. It's just.
[00:27:09] Speaker B: Yeah, it's just. So this was before you guys even got to Home Cove. This was your first time sailing in the Scalia Nazca to together.
Could I get a sciences check from you, Rose? You sail over.
[00:27:20] Speaker D: Yeah.
Oh, no, I'm gonna use my inspiration because I rolled a nat one that is what, a dirty 20.
[00:27:40] Speaker B: Okay. You needed a 13 row as you fly over and you wash their. I mean, you're moving at a faster pace than they are. Even if you slow the leaf down. They're not moving quickly at all. They are amassed in huge numbers, and it's trippy because now it looks like you are looking up at the stars into the ocean below. Just instead of being singular, holding colors, they're blinking in and out of existence with more variance in color than just white and red and some blue. Like, there's a lot of tonal, like, opaque purples and greens and reds. But you realize as you get closer to water surface now. Oh, no, not thousands. Hundreds of thousands, easily.
This is.
This amount of them vastly, vastly outnumbers the number you encountered in the ska.
And you're just sailing over them. Do you.
Do you do anything else in particular as you. As you fly over?
[00:28:47] Speaker D: I'm trying to think if there's anything I don't want to like, I don't want to accidentally flip us or anything, so I won't touch them.
[00:28:54] Speaker B: That would be very.
[00:28:55] Speaker D: Go down or anything. No, I'm just going to take it in. Well, actually, no, no, no.
I wake up everyone to see it because. Yeah.
[00:29:09] Speaker B: Party. You're all woken up one by one, and you're flying over the ocean at night. And as Ro points out over the edge, just an army of colors underneath the night wave waves.
[00:29:27] Speaker C: Oh, I. I'm gonna. I'm gonna say.
Oh, do you guys. It's like the fireflies. Did you guys see the fireflies in the forest?
[00:29:37] Speaker D: Yeah. Wait, what did. We had a name for them in Zedge that we made up.
I don't remember. Lightning butts.
[00:29:45] Speaker B: I don't remember.
[00:29:46] Speaker D: They were not lightning butts.
[00:29:48] Speaker C: Well, they were all.
[00:29:49] Speaker D: Yeah, Sparkle booties.
[00:29:51] Speaker C: No, this is Greta.
I think that I was off by myself. But I don't know, maybe you all saw something. They were all sparkly.
[00:30:02] Speaker B: No, I saw. I saw them as well.
[00:30:05] Speaker D: Yeah. And I remember them when I was growing up and said, sure.
[00:30:09] Speaker C: Oh, it's just like those.
[00:30:11] Speaker A: Yeah.
Galaxy in the ocean.
[00:30:17] Speaker C: Yeah.
Each one is its own little star.
[00:30:23] Speaker B: Tello fully leans his head over the edge and props his chin up on his arms and just looks at them all. And they're teeming and swirling with color. And as you guys observe them with a little more time, really slowing the leaf down for a bit, you're noticing that they're not just swimming in a direction. They're kind of massive together, and they blink in and out. But you notice with some time there's a pattern to it. Not like a pattern of rhythm to the light, but like they're moving in particular motions in masses. Could those of you proficient in nature give me a pretty high D.C. nature check?
[00:31:01] Speaker D: I got an 18.
[00:31:09] Speaker B: Okay.
Boz, you're not proficient in nature.
Let me see nature.
No, I'm not happy. Okay. You're not fire, I guess.
[00:31:27] Speaker E: Yes, I am.
[00:31:28] Speaker B: Oh, okay.
[00:31:29] Speaker D: I was like. I'm pretty sure you, like, you are nature.
[00:31:32] Speaker E: Like, I think Boz is still asleep.
[00:31:35] Speaker B: Actually, buddy, Boz is still asleep.
[00:31:42] Speaker C: I'm gonna use my inspiration.
It's a 28.
[00:31:51] Speaker D: Let's go.
[00:31:52] Speaker B: Holy crap, dude.
While you smash the DC. And it's very fitting that it's you, Greta. Pause. Whether still asleep or groggily not paying full attention. Ro, you're dazzled by the beauty, Craig. And raptured as well. But Greta, as you sit there and study it, your natural mind having studied so many creatures for so long, oh, it's so fitting it's you. Having studied so many animals for so long, something occurs to you suddenly.
Deep lights must be migrational.
And so, wow, the scilia nazga to hear here. That's far.
And as you all sit there and watch them for a little longer, more come and more and more. And soon the ocean looks as dense as the night sky.
And they're teeming together. It gets to a point where you all are starting to have underlight on your face and on the leaf from the sheer density of them. They're. They're so constant now that the ocean water below looks like nothing but lights. And credit occurs to you as well. This is probably some sort of like a mating site for them. Like, this is a spawning location and this is like a huge mating event because you start noticing that, like, they're like the patterns will blink Back and forth. And then some of the colors will blink together before going dark. And they must be mating in pairs, but in the millions.
[00:33:23] Speaker C: Wow.
[00:33:24] Speaker B: And they just bloom with this astral deluge of color and movement.
And it just goes on for as long as you will tarry.
[00:33:40] Speaker D: Beautiful.
[00:33:41] Speaker A: Did you all know that you probably could turn into those with your magic thingies?
[00:33:46] Speaker B: Buzz did was.
[00:33:49] Speaker D: Yeah, I remember that.
[00:33:51] Speaker C: Yeah. Does it look like. Are there more here than we saw in the Skillionazka?
[00:33:56] Speaker B: Yes. Yeah. In the Skilly and Asuka, you saw thousands. Right now you feel like you're looking at millions. I mean, wow.
[00:34:02] Speaker C: Wow.
[00:34:03] Speaker B: Huge.
[00:34:06] Speaker C: Wow.
[00:34:11] Speaker A: Does the party otherwise sleep?
[00:34:14] Speaker D: What?
[00:34:16] Speaker A: I like to think that everyone's like at the edge or trying to look over and see it. I just like look back sleep death thing over there.
[00:34:31] Speaker C: What is the sky like? Is there a lot of stars out or is it cloudy?
[00:34:36] Speaker B: Yes. No. Yeah, it's the. Oh, I think you step away. When I was describing it, there are more lights above than below. It's just the full vault of galarbody and stars shining brightly above Athos. Still brighter red. The golden star is still brighter gold.
As the party drinks in this quiet moment, at some point they have to fly on. It's captivating. But the sleepy people are also very tired. And they go back to sleeping. And the fungi and the leaf go back to flying.
They fly for.
Oh, okay, we're not changing the song. There we go. They fly for the rest of the night and halfway through the next day. And they fly and they fly. Baaz. When you are woken up, you just have to rehead that. You have to reestablish that heading. But you've already passed the check.
And it appears that foo foomph was further away than it used to be. And again, these islands were not even. I mean, it's hard to even compare because sometimes the islands are just next to whole other sets of island.
But eventually, sort of, well, keen mind.
About 1:17pm, another island begins to cross up in the distance. Baas one to which you feel a confident homing heading. That. Okay, this must be the new isle to which you head.
And as you guys near, closer and closer. It's picturesque. Long as you remember it. Baz long low beaches of almost white sand where bright clear waters wash lazily over them.
At maybe 800, 900ft away, you all can see that beyond the sand rise into higher banks themselves giving way to vast, softly rolling hills of thin waving grasses. Hints of deeper lush woodlands surrounding a strangely thin mountain halfway across the island sort of miles further away from there.
So the island is just a lot of soft rolling hills of grass, some woodland that leads up to to a very thin mountain going straight up.
Far above the island is a great mass of loosely bound, outwardly arcing clouds. They drift lazily in spiraling arcs from one point where they must gather, rising unexpectedly from the crown of the odd mountain like the smoke of a volcano. Except like clouds. Not dark, not black, not like ash or smoke. Light and bright from this calm storm rages not peals of lightning, but gentle and steady blooms of pale pastel colors like aurora borealis trapped in clouds.
Like a mild storm slowly falling apart. And there are blooms of color, but it's not sharp whites and lights. It's like pinks and baby blues and soft greens.
And you guys are just flying toward this island.
What the party do?
[00:37:53] Speaker C: I'm sorry, I forgot. But what time of day is it? Is it like morning?
[00:37:58] Speaker B: 1:16, but more PM bare 1:16 after the noon.
[00:38:07] Speaker C: After Zen noon. Okay.
[00:38:09] Speaker B: Wow.
[00:38:10] Speaker C: So we've been flying for a long time.
[00:38:18] Speaker B: So more dry food from boss's mom was had and all that.
[00:38:23] Speaker C: How many rations do we have?
[00:38:25] Speaker D: Oh, I was muted.
[00:38:28] Speaker B: It could be quantified, I'm sure. I think you guys had five days of rations and it's been two days. So three more days of rations.
[00:38:38] Speaker D: How big is this island? Like, can we see the other side?
[00:38:41] Speaker B: Significantly bigger than the last one. Goes on for ways you can't see. You can't see end to end.
[00:38:46] Speaker D: Is there any. Is there. Do we see any? Like.
And remind me not grow keen mind when you. When we were talking about all the islands. But is this like a populated island? Like, is there like any living people? I know, they said, I mean, Boz.
[00:39:07] Speaker B: May know, but you have not. Now I know where this will go is Ro will ask Boz and then Landon will go, okay, DM Baaz has to ask, so I won't make you play that game. But Baz, you Foo Foomph isn't an island. You spent a ton of time because there are trees here, but not a ton.
The magical, the Ogb population that does land here. Or Ogbin bumblebees. There's a lot of bees. But the Ogbin bumbles that come here do establish populations that are very steady and stable. You check that on a handful of times, you have never met a person on this island. But it doesn't mean that there aren't any. You're just not familiar with any Bahs.
And by extent, by Proxy. Everyone else should. Roasque, which I meant. And she doesn't.
[00:39:54] Speaker D: Gotcha. Cool beans.
[00:39:57] Speaker A: He knows us too well, huh? He knows us way too well.
[00:40:06] Speaker D: Okay, who's flying? Am I flying still, or is someone else.
[00:40:11] Speaker A: Oh, no, you forgot to designate as one to fly.
[00:40:15] Speaker D: No one is flying.
[00:40:17] Speaker A: Don't worry, guys.
So it's. It's actually playing itself now.
[00:40:23] Speaker C: She's probably complaining because she can't.
She can't work on her basket that she's been weaving because she's flying.
[00:40:34] Speaker B: Okay, Greta's weaving a basket. Canonical.
[00:40:40] Speaker A: Can I fly?
[00:40:42] Speaker D: Do we. Do we land?
[00:40:44] Speaker C: No, Craig, it's my turn to fly, But I wish I could leave my basket right now. This kind of sucks.
This is the first time you're hearing about. This is the first time you're hearing about Greta weaving a basket.
[00:40:58] Speaker D: Where did you keep the ingredients to weave this basket?
[00:41:02] Speaker A: Where are you keeping your basket?
[00:41:05] Speaker D: Not ingredients.
[00:41:08] Speaker C: My pocket card.
[00:41:11] Speaker A: So it must be. Oh, you have.
[00:41:13] Speaker D: Do we land?
[00:41:14] Speaker B: It's halfway through this that you guys get nearer to the shore, and the leaf goes.
And the edge begins to lose rigidity and begins giving a little bit, and then the other edge, and it's. Nothing's happening really quickly, but the whole leaf is beginning to lose rigidity a little bit, and it's, like, wobbling. It's like. Like solid object. Solid object. A little flexible. Solid. Solid. Solid. A little flexible. And the closer you guys are getting to the shore, the more it's starting to give. And also its glide is lowering toward the shore.
[00:41:48] Speaker C: Okay, do I still have control over it?
[00:41:51] Speaker B: You do.
[00:41:52] Speaker C: Or at least I'm gonna guide it.
[00:41:55] Speaker D: Greta, what are you doing?
[00:41:56] Speaker C: I'm gonna guide it as much as I can to the. To a beach or just to, like.
[00:42:01] Speaker B: A grass, for one. You're headed right at it.
[00:42:03] Speaker C: Okay, well, I'm going to try not to crash.
[00:42:06] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:42:07] Speaker C: But I want to.
[00:42:08] Speaker B: Give me a dick.
[00:42:09] Speaker D: No.
Can I assist?
[00:42:14] Speaker B: How?
[00:42:16] Speaker D: I'm going to. I'm. Because she's little old lady Greta, I'm going to help her and hold on to the stick as well.
[00:42:23] Speaker B: Okay, the stick. Why do you give me. Well, it's kind of hard. Hard. Yeah, yeah.
[00:42:27] Speaker F: You have.
[00:42:28] Speaker B: You have the help. Action. Greta, you have the help.
[00:42:29] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:42:30] Speaker C: Because I rolled a two.
[00:42:32] Speaker B: Okay, you're being helped. You may roll an advantage.
[00:42:37] Speaker D: I'm like, I'll help you steer it.
[00:42:41] Speaker C: It's a dirty 20.
[00:42:42] Speaker D: What an improvement.
[00:42:44] Speaker C: My second roll got an 18.
[00:42:48] Speaker B: That's phenomenal.
So the leaf and. And as you guys, it occurs to you all at the last minute. Well, just pull up and so you pull back on the stem and it arches upward and you guys straight into the sand. All in all, like, there's some jostling and some people roll around a little bit. All in all, that's a pretty gentle lady.
[00:43:09] Speaker A: Hey, guys, we didn't die.
[00:43:11] Speaker D: What was that about balls? Is there some kind of. Is there worse magic on this island?
[00:43:17] Speaker E: There is no bad magic. That's kind of insensitive, to be honest.
[00:43:22] Speaker B: Baz just turns around and goes. Only the Sith deal in absolute.
[00:43:26] Speaker E: I don't serve mystra, but I would be watching the sky for thunderbolts. If you care about living at all. Saying something like that, that's awful.
[00:43:35] Speaker B: Where you all run aground in the pale white sands.
It's an incredibly pleasant, idyllic temperature.
It's like just barely warm, but still kind of cool. Very soft sands. The sun beams above, not overbearing, but clear and brilliant. And miles in the distance, the strange clouds spin in their lethargic ballet. And you guys are on the shore of Foo Funf.
[00:44:01] Speaker C: Nice.
[00:44:03] Speaker D: I want to whistle and just prestidigitate sparks or something to see if it lets me.
It doesn't change it. Normal. It acts as normal as.
[00:44:16] Speaker B: As the wind passes from between your lips, which are framed on every side by a full and gorgeous purple beard.
[00:44:23] Speaker D: No, that was only for four hours. That was four hours.
[00:44:27] Speaker B: Was it? Because I don't think that's what that says on the table.
I believe the four hours applied to a different ability. I believe when you roll that, it's a beard.
[00:44:38] Speaker D: No, there was specific amount of time rolling a 53.
[00:44:43] Speaker B: If you do not have one, you already. If you do not already have one, you grow a beautiful, robust beard. No time for.
[00:44:49] Speaker E: Yeah, there's no time for.
[00:44:52] Speaker B: You are recording something from a different ability and role. You have a beard.
[00:44:56] Speaker E: Yeah.
[00:44:56] Speaker B: So as you whistle, your gorgeous beard moves in the slight breeze from the ocean and rings out clearly and sparks appear. Also, if we had not covered in the recap last time. Ro has a gorgeous beard.
[00:45:12] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. She let me know at the party, but she said it was braided only last night. Braided?
[00:45:17] Speaker B: Yes, braided and braided. It's gorgeous.
[00:45:22] Speaker D: What is it?
[00:45:23] Speaker A: Do I have a bead? I have a bead.
[00:45:24] Speaker B: Like, well, as an update, I guess we'll update everyone's hair. Tello is halfway to. He's got, like, a mini fro right now, and he's halfway through a goatee. Craig, your hair has finally grown back in enough you still. Where you have that burn side on your face. You're still not growing any beard hair here, but it's grown in quite a bit more here. And so I assume you've told Tello to keep it shaved on both sides.
[00:45:49] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:45:49] Speaker B: Yeah. Symmetry. So you have, like, a really big. You have, like, a thick mustache again. Finally, you have your. You have your meal preserver, and then you have your really thick, like, at either side. Either. You could have one thick braid down the middle or like, two on either side of, like, a thick goatee. But you've got all. You've got a ton of beard hair back here. Again, do you have one braid or two or four?
[00:46:11] Speaker A: I'm gonna say two.
[00:46:14] Speaker B: Okay, two. So you have two braids to either side. So you've got, like, a respectable beard again. And again, the sides of your head have remained shaved because this side's still not growing hair correctly. But Tello has given you the full, like. You've got the full, like, Hemsworth Ragnarok, like, kind of like war hawk going in the middle now because you've got enough hair for it.
[00:46:33] Speaker D: Again, Ro takes the dagger from her boot, and she cuts off whatever's going on here.
[00:46:46] Speaker B: Ro cuts halfway through her beard, and the locks are in her hand. So there's. There's beard still here on her face, but she's cut off the bottom part.
[00:46:53] Speaker D: And I look at.
[00:46:54] Speaker B: You feel a guttural pain.
[00:46:56] Speaker D: And I look at Tello and I say, hello.
[00:46:59] Speaker B: That's a look.
[00:47:00] Speaker D: Hello.
Yeah. This island could have my possible father living on it.
[00:47:09] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:47:09] Speaker A: Be good for you.
[00:47:10] Speaker B: This is a.
[00:47:11] Speaker D: This is an important day. I know. I don't want to have this.
[00:47:16] Speaker B: Yeah, I feel like you should uncut if you want to meet him.
[00:47:19] Speaker D: No, I want it to be gone. Can you please get rid of it?
[00:47:24] Speaker B: Tello just reaches into a leather pouch, opens up this little. This little glass vial, and goes, I'm almost out. And starts pulling out this thick solve he uses when he shaves.
[00:47:34] Speaker D: I'll buy you Craig's hair.
[00:47:35] Speaker B: And then he starts applying it to the side of your face. And he goes, don't move. He takes your knife. And then the party stands there motionless on the beach for 10 minutes while Tello shaves Ro's whole face and your beard is gone.
[00:47:46] Speaker A: Wait, why are we motionless?
[00:47:48] Speaker C: I play in the sand.
[00:47:50] Speaker A: I play in the sand.
[00:47:52] Speaker B: Tell me what you're doing, please. Tell me how you're role playing.
[00:47:55] Speaker C: I swim. I don't think Greta's seen a beach this nice in a Long time. She, like, gets off and, like, swims in the water. Would you dm. Would you say that this kind of reminds her of, like, you? I don't know. Every time I hear, like, the grass and the rolling hills, I think of Hilal. Is that kind of.
[00:48:12] Speaker B: The topography of Hilal was much more variable and significant, but it is very Hilalian in its peace.
And so, yes, there is a pleasant reminder there. And actually, what it reminds you quite a bit of is the beach is quite a bit like Telethonam's beach that you arrived in Telethonam. It's the waters. It's honestly just better. The waters are clearer. The temperature is better. This is just the best beach you've ever been on.
[00:48:38] Speaker C: Fred is having a great time.
[00:48:40] Speaker B: Greta swims around having a time.
[00:48:42] Speaker C: Yeah, she's like, swimming. She. Yeah, she's like, swimming.
[00:48:47] Speaker B: Craig.
[00:48:48] Speaker A: Craig digs a hole.
[00:48:51] Speaker B: The masculine urge to dig. Craig, give him.
[00:48:54] Speaker A: Buries himself in it. You know, he's like, just chest deep in sand.
[00:49:01] Speaker B: Do you want to give me an athletics check, Craig?
[00:49:04] Speaker A: Oh, yeah.
Oops.
Good momento.
[00:49:24] Speaker B: Wait, are you trying to big a really dig? Are you trying to dig a really big hole, or you just making one big enough for yourself?
[00:49:29] Speaker A: 19.
[00:49:33] Speaker B: Craig digs a huge hole and puts himself in it.
[00:49:36] Speaker A: And then I bury myself.
[00:49:38] Speaker B: You're done. And you're all shaved up. Craig, when you stand up. Oh, man, it could take months for the sand to come out of those parts of your armor because you're in full plate now.
[00:49:47] Speaker A: Oh, no, I was thinking. I was. Oh, wait, no. It takes too long to dismantle. No, Zach, I was picturing Craig without anything except.
[00:49:57] Speaker B: Okay, so Craig is unarmored right now. Craig, Craig, where are you keeping your armor when you're not wearing it? Like, 20 pounds of armor in my.
[00:50:06] Speaker A: Hopes and dreams.
[00:50:10] Speaker B: Greta, if you will permit, if Craig is. If you are allowing Craig to keep all his armor in your cloak of holding, it will take up the rest of the space in your cloak of holding. It'll fill your cloak of holding to capacity if it stays there.
That's just a U go.
[00:50:26] Speaker A: I will be wearing whenever I am.
I will wear it whenever I am not in sand.
[00:50:35] Speaker C: Fine, Craig. But if I find something interesting, I'm taking your armor out.
[00:50:41] Speaker D: Shouldn't you keep that on, Craig, in case we run into something bad and it might take you, like, a gazillion years to put it on?
[00:50:48] Speaker A: I took it off to be in sand, but I'm. I'm done now.
[00:50:54] Speaker B: And then Craig Sits there and puts every piece of armor. It takes 10 minutes. Just sits there and buckles on first the chain shirt, and then the curious, and then the pauldrons, and just piece by piece. But he gets there.
[00:51:04] Speaker C: It looks great.
[00:51:04] Speaker B: And then finally, with Craig re armored, Greta sopping wet and ro cleanly shaven, the fungus, I assume, head off into foo. Foomph.
[00:51:13] Speaker D: It's not grow back, is it?
Oh, I don't like that. I don't like that. That answer. I don't like the shrug as an answer.
[00:51:24] Speaker B: I assume the party heads inland.
[00:51:27] Speaker D: Yes. Can I do? Yeah.
[00:51:30] Speaker B: Okay. So you all walk.
Man. It's pleasant here, in fact.
Yeah, the air smells sweet.
When the breeze is warm and then cool, alternating pleasantly.
And you all walk and walk in a featureless land. Wait, what? Can somebody give me a perception check?
[00:51:52] Speaker D: I will.
I got a 25.
[00:52:00] Speaker C: Okay, Greebgar, you got a 21.
[00:52:09] Speaker B: Okay, so the fungus are walking around the featureless. Well. Well, not featureless or something in the distance.
[00:52:20] Speaker D: The clouds?
[00:52:22] Speaker B: No, on the ground. Like a. Like a. Like a. Like a brown smudge.
[00:52:26] Speaker D: Brown smudge? Mud.
[00:52:28] Speaker A: Boop. Oh.
[00:52:32] Speaker B: Maybe like a thousand feet in the distance.
Abby, you're gonna have to get closer to your computer, or we won't hear you.
Okay. Apparently, your discord is just censoring that. You're not allowed to say that.
[00:52:47] Speaker A: She's been cussing.
[00:52:48] Speaker D: I think she's saying poop.
[00:52:50] Speaker B: I think she's saying poop.
[00:52:51] Speaker D: Yes.
[00:52:53] Speaker B: So you all look off the distance at something that's far too large to be poop or a. Concerning.
[00:52:57] Speaker D: How big? Wait, how big?
[00:52:59] Speaker B: Well, it's a brown smudge in the distance on the horizon about 1,000ft away. Do you indirect or let it.
[00:53:03] Speaker D: Indirect. Yes. I run towards it.
[00:53:07] Speaker B: As the group moves closer and closer and closer. Colton, would you turn on your camera and Mike and tell them what they see? Oh, perhaps. Or maybe not. Oh, there's.
[00:53:20] Speaker A: Oh, my God.
[00:53:22] Speaker D: Hey.
[00:53:22] Speaker F: Hey, everybody.
[00:53:23] Speaker D: Hi.
[00:53:25] Speaker F: Can y'all hear me? I don't know.
[00:53:27] Speaker D: Yes.
[00:53:28] Speaker F: Oh, Rhett. I can't believe we did that. Right? Hi, everybody.
[00:53:32] Speaker D: Hi.
[00:53:33] Speaker F: Hello.
[00:53:35] Speaker E: Hi.
[00:53:36] Speaker F: So in the distance, you see a pretty crappy campsite.
The person who set this up looks like they gave up. About halfway through, there is a collection of wooden planks that were definitely salvaged from something, and they're kind of leaning against a tree, but it doesn't really look like that's being used for anything because there is a hammock strung out between two trees that has a canvas covering above it.
And currently there Is a figure sleeping in that hammock?
[00:54:17] Speaker D: He says sleep.
[00:54:19] Speaker C: I'm sorry for calling your campsite poop.
[00:54:23] Speaker B: These are crappy site. These are the only three trees visible in any direction for, like, miles. It's just three trees alone in a field and then these objects in a hammock and a figure weighing a mass in the hammock.
[00:54:39] Speaker D: Can I do an arcana check where these trees put there by like, yeah, go ahead and roll or something?
Are you gonna say something before I.
[00:54:49] Speaker B: No, no, go ahead.
[00:54:50] Speaker D: Tell you.
[00:54:51] Speaker B: What'd you get?
[00:54:52] Speaker D: I got it.
[00:54:53] Speaker B: It looks like this is maybe just an immediate plot contrivance given on the descriptive.
[00:54:58] Speaker D: Okay, Well, I got a 28 if you want to record it.
[00:55:05] Speaker B: You narrow your eyes at the trees, and all you hear softly in your ears is the big mike.
[00:55:10] Speaker D: Okay.
I was just curious if they grew the trees.
I get quiet. Instead of running, I start slowing down. Well, because you can make actions, you.
[00:55:23] Speaker B: Don'T have to defend them.
[00:55:25] Speaker D: You don't want to sneak up on a sleep in anything.
Good rule to have.
[00:55:32] Speaker A: Um, I'm not sure that Craig's armor is capable of being quiet.
[00:55:37] Speaker D: Oh, no.
[00:55:39] Speaker B: I mean, you can walk instead of running. That's an option. But you are always 247 just going.
[00:55:50] Speaker A: He'S trying. He's trying his best to be quiet.
[00:55:52] Speaker E: Zack, as we get close to making do, I recognize them at all.
[00:55:56] Speaker B: Well, Craig, are you making a big effort to be quiet?
[00:56:00] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:56:01] Speaker B: Okay, could you give me a stealth check? And then, Boz, as you're getting closer and closer to this shanty lean to structure.
Colton, is your character exposed at all from the hammock, or is it just a mass in a hammock fully enveloping them?
[00:56:20] Speaker F: I would say he's probably got a very obnoxious cat pirate hat covering his face.
[00:56:30] Speaker D: Amazing.
[00:56:30] Speaker F: But you might see, like, the top of his body, but I think hammocks kind of.
[00:56:36] Speaker B: Okay, so, funguys, as you approach, there are two long, dark gray arms. Am I correct on that, Colton?
Hanging out of either side. And then, like, the top, like, you can see, like, a gray, like, gray shoulders and collarbone, a neck, and then a head covering and everything else is wrapped around by hammock. What'd you get? Correct?
[00:56:54] Speaker A: Two.
[00:56:55] Speaker B: Two. So you guys. You guys are, like, moving, kind of going down and quietly whispering back and forth. And Craig. Craig is, like, walking as you. Yeah. What's up?
[00:57:09] Speaker E: I have passed out trace prepared.
[00:57:12] Speaker B: Absolutely.
[00:57:13] Speaker E: I'm going to cast that on Craig. Wait, no, it doesn't put a sound, does it? That just makes it hard to see.
[00:57:19] Speaker B: That roll came before the spell. But you can put it on after this if you so desire.
[00:57:23] Speaker E: No, no, I don't want to do it. It doesn't affect sound.
[00:57:26] Speaker B: Craig drops his spade blade shield, like, onto his boot, and then ka ching boom, to the floor. Colton, your character. The standing rule in our campaign is that your passive perception while sleeping is half of your passive perception. So what's your passive perception?
[00:57:42] Speaker F: It's definitely more than four.
[00:57:45] Speaker B: Well, if you know your perception, it's just 10, plus that.
[00:57:50] Speaker F: My perception is 15.
[00:57:53] Speaker B: Okay, so 15 total, right?
[00:57:55] Speaker F: Our passive perception. Yes, sir.
[00:57:57] Speaker B: So then half of that would be seven.
So Craig with a two. Colton, your character is. You're woken up by a loud clanging sound.
[00:58:11] Speaker F: I think I'm going to lie very still. So the hammock's gonna stop swaying.
[00:58:18] Speaker B: But he's gonna try to.
[00:58:20] Speaker F: Try to pretend, like, what was like, you know, when you lying in bed and you hear a sound and you're like, if I don't acknowledge it, the demon will leave my home.
[00:58:27] Speaker B: Colton, could you give me a performance check?
[00:58:30] Speaker F: Absolutely, I can.
[00:58:33] Speaker B: Yeah. It's been a while since we had a guest. This is really fun.
[00:58:37] Speaker F: That's going to be a 12.
[00:58:42] Speaker A: Nice.
[00:58:43] Speaker B: Okay.
The passive insights alone of Boz and I think Ro.
Yeah, that individual is definitely just gone. Very stock still in the hammock, especially Boz's insight is ridiculous. So the rest of you may or may not be fooled, but the two of you are definitely not.
[00:59:01] Speaker E: So I think being jerked. These guys. This is. This guy's home. He's sleeping. He's just.
[00:59:06] Speaker A: Yeah, he's still asleep. He didn't. It didn't do anything.
[00:59:11] Speaker E: It looks like he's, like, stuck here, though. I'm not gonna lie.
[00:59:14] Speaker D: How far away are we?
[00:59:15] Speaker E: I think he's stuck on the island.
[00:59:17] Speaker C: And waited for him to wake up. That way we could talk to him when he's awake.
[00:59:20] Speaker E: Yeah, let's just sit down and wait for him to wake up.
[00:59:23] Speaker D: And then.
Okay, guys, I think he's sleeping.
[00:59:29] Speaker E: Wait.
[00:59:31] Speaker B: So about 40ft away, Boz, like, as you guys are whispering back and forth, Boz just sits down in the soft grass.
[00:59:37] Speaker A: I also sit down.
[00:59:39] Speaker C: I sit down sitting.
[00:59:40] Speaker D: I do not. I walk towards.
[00:59:43] Speaker B: Okay, so Tello, like, stands in between. He looks back at the weirdos he associates with and then looks at the person doing the normal thing he would do.
Just sits there for a second doing that, like, thing with his fingers. And then he goes, be normal. Tell. Be normal. And he Just starts walking after Ro. And so Ro and Tello are approaching the hammock.
[01:00:06] Speaker D: Excuse me sir, Sorry, sorry to wake you. Sorry that my friend over there woke you.
[01:00:16] Speaker F: You get like a strip of eyes between the hat and the and the hammock. Because I'm like as I take in.
[01:00:26] Speaker B: And Colden's PC as you look out. Oh, okay.
Well there's a dark skinned elven man with kind of clean looking fro and goatee, some leather armor, some weapons festooned on him.
Next. And gold flecks and oh yes, little gold freckles in his face. So that's intense.
And you can start by giving me a rumors check.
And then directly next to that individual is.
Oh, that person's green.
And not in the goblin orc normal way. That's a completely non orcish goblin looking green and gripe verdant green with purple hair. Oh, there's flowers growing out of her hair.
Sparkling armor, a rapier at the side, a well festooned lute on the back, Gold rims in the eyes.
Very magical looking, a lot of gold. Okay, then some distance behind that individual, maybe like 20ft further back, sitting down on the ground, there is a very metal looking dwarven dune with a huge burn on one. I mean Zuko scar, but triple along one side, back of his head, War hawk. That's a huge hammer. That's a really nice looking sword.
[01:01:50] Speaker F: Help.
[01:01:50] Speaker B: That's some spears. Behind next to him a very old lady who looks just like an old lady.
[01:01:58] Speaker D: Next to her a gold gold in her hair.
[01:02:02] Speaker B: Oh, excuse me. And gold streaks in her hair. Forgive me. So gray brown hair with gold wrinkles.
[01:02:07] Speaker C: Now wrinkles are like gold in the creases of wrinkles.
[01:02:12] Speaker B: And then next to that individual.
Oh, holy cow.
There's a slender dude. There's a cow whose skin is ashen gray covered in gold sparkles.
He has. His hair is the color of spring green grass. And there are green oak leaves growing or maple and oak leaves growing out of his hair.
And also is his skin shining in the sun like full Edward Cullen shining. And he is wearing leaf leather stripped armor and is carrying a glowing apiary at his side. That's quite a cast of individuals. What'd you get on your rumors check?
[01:02:56] Speaker F: That would have been an 11.
[01:02:58] Speaker B: Okay, don't worry about it, okay?
[01:03:01] Speaker F: My dads don't love me, so don't worry. You don't have to tell me.
[01:03:05] Speaker B: Not everyone can be Jackie and Abby.
[01:03:08] Speaker F: At least two of these people look like they're ready to stab Me.
So I think I need to get out of my hammock.
[01:03:17] Speaker B: Okay. It's all you. It's all role play from here. I'll do your thing.
[01:03:20] Speaker F: I try to get out of my hammock. So can I roll something?
[01:03:24] Speaker B: Are you in created or something? I mean, you 60?
[01:03:27] Speaker F: Can I roll something, Zach?
[01:03:29] Speaker B: If you want to, you can.
[01:03:31] Speaker F: Yes. Thank you. Okay.
[01:03:32] Speaker B: Give me out of the hammock.
[01:03:33] Speaker F: That's great.
So, like, you know, because it's hard getting out of hammocks when they're deep ones.
[01:03:40] Speaker B: Sure, sure.
[01:03:41] Speaker F: So he's going to kind of take the hat in one hand and do a swing and somehow land on his feet out of. Out of the hammock and then put the hat on quickly.
He's not wearing a shirt. It's just, like, white cotton pants.
And there's. And as y'all are getting closer, there's, like, a chest over here. Yeah. And like a storage. There's a. There's like, a long rapier stuck into the sand over here with, like, a long pink scarf blowing in the water.
[01:04:16] Speaker B: Not that it's important. You guys are, like, like a couple miles inland. It's all, like, soils and grass here. But anyway, not important. Please continue.
[01:04:23] Speaker F: Not. You're not in the grass. Stuck in the grass here. Definitely on my. Not three and.
Hi. Hi. Hello. Hi. Who.
Well, how long have you been on my island? Hi.
[01:04:40] Speaker D: Oh, this is. Wait, this is your island?
[01:04:43] Speaker F: Well, I thought. I thought. I thought it. I thought it was.
Is it your island?
[01:04:49] Speaker D: No, no. We just. We just landed here. She, like, holds her hands up, like, to, like, be like, we bring peace.
[01:04:57] Speaker F: So you came to my island?
[01:04:59] Speaker D: I guess so. We didn't know that the island belonged to anyone.
We just. We landed here.
She, like, walks up. She, like, holds her hand up. I'm. And she looks at Tello, like, tello what? What are you thinking?
[01:05:20] Speaker B: Tello's face is diplomatic and relaxed. But you see him, he has a wry smile. He's just decided, you've got this one.
[01:05:25] Speaker C: Oh, no.
[01:05:27] Speaker B: Also an important descriptor I didn't make. Colton's character, who's yet named.
The elven individual is tall, maybe like 6 foot. The thinner individual further back, similar height. The dwarven individual, presumable height for a dwarf.
The old lady is clearly gnomish and so quite short. And this lady, whatever she is.
[01:05:47] Speaker F: This is the blue dwarf.
[01:05:50] Speaker B: Yes. The green dwarf is very short. Her head comes up to not quite your hip.
And is there any additional visual detail you want to take in Describing your character right now or. You don't have to. I'm just checking.
[01:06:05] Speaker F: He's got a couple rings on his fingers, like just kind of haphazardly put on.
And some earrings as well. They don't look like they're particularly worth much. You know, it's just like brass. Like, I. You know, it's just something.
He's got white hair kind of tucked hastily under this hat. It was in a loose, like, man bun back here. And. Yeah, just dark, dark gray skin, kind of light gray eyes.
And he's going to kind of. He's very tall, very tall, very light, very thin. He's like. Doesn't look gaunt, but this is. You know, he's built like an NBA player who rides the bench. And he's going to kind of spread his leg just in a wider power stance so that he can meet you not quite eye to eye, but get more to your level. And then he's gonna just like stick your hand like.
Who'd you say who you were? Hi.
[01:07:04] Speaker A: Hi.
[01:07:05] Speaker D: Hi.
I'm Rowena and this is Tello and.
[01:07:10] Speaker B: Hello.
[01:07:14] Speaker D: The others are back there.
They were worried about waking you up.
[01:07:21] Speaker E: I'm sorry that Ro woke you up. I tried to tell her not to do that, but she wanted to do it.
[01:07:26] Speaker D: I did it.
[01:07:27] Speaker F: Yes. I appreciate it. I appreciate it. Oh, my. It's okay. It's okay. I sleep very good, so I'm well rested.
Not much to do out here besides sleep. My name is Shelby.
So good to know. Good to meet you. Good to meet you. Hi.
[01:07:42] Speaker D: Hi.
[01:07:43] Speaker B: And I'm so sorry. I want you guys to do nothing but role play in a second one last time. Shelby, could you give me one last rumors check based off what you.
[01:07:53] Speaker F: I just would love to. I'm gonna use this die. I haven't. These two die have failed me.
[01:07:59] Speaker A: So let's go.
[01:08:00] Speaker F: 15.
[01:08:02] Speaker A: What is your race in class?
[01:08:04] Speaker F: It's a.
[01:08:05] Speaker E: It's a. Does Craig just ask that?
[01:08:07] Speaker F: It's a drow character.
[01:08:11] Speaker B: So drow are the grey elf people. Craig, you know that they are. They are the grey elf people like. Like Viscut and Lashley you met. Thim is drow. Like you've met many of these, like dark skinned elven. They're like gray skin, silver hair, and then you do not know it immediately. That's a. Sometimes a real social role and sometimes a construct.
Shelby with a 15. Sorry? Well, you know, two or three tellos. Two or three tellos, but with a 15. We've established it's not an uncommon name in this world.
[01:08:53] Speaker D: Oh, that's right.
[01:08:53] Speaker B: But Shelby with a 15.
That might be Teloge. You haven't heard about him in many years. Uh oh, but you know some circles he used to work in. You have heard of that individual you think? Maybe, but that's all internal to you.
[01:09:15] Speaker F: File that away. He does this whenever he makes his. Just twirls his finger like that. Like mentally. File that away.
[01:09:23] Speaker B: I love the Jack Sparrow energy right now.
[01:09:26] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:09:27] Speaker B: Oh, that's true to that.
[01:09:30] Speaker F: There are several glass bottles and jars scattered around the dirt around me full of buried liquids and.
[01:09:41] Speaker B: Looks like some.
[01:09:42] Speaker F: Of them have things fruiting it or like floating in them or steeping in them.
And then there's not much otherwise in terms of Doc, so. Hi. Well, you found the island, huh?
[01:10:01] Speaker D: This is your island. I didn't know that. People.
[01:10:07] Speaker F: Wells of ownership and squatting are very loose.
[01:10:16] Speaker D: It makes sense.
[01:10:17] Speaker F: Yeah, I mean, I haven't encountered anyone else, so I've been here for a bit, but I've kind of.
[01:10:24] Speaker D: How long?
[01:10:30] Speaker F: Years.
[01:10:31] Speaker D: Oh, okay.
[01:10:34] Speaker E: Can I do an insight check?
[01:10:35] Speaker B: Zachary, go ahead and give me an insight check. And Shelby, if you want to give me either a persuasion or a deception check, you do not need to specify which.
What is it?
[01:10:48] Speaker E: All right.
[01:10:50] Speaker F: I got peace with rolling crap in D and D. Boss.
[01:10:54] Speaker B: Did you say a 23? Yes. Oh, that was a two on the dice.
[01:11:00] Speaker F: Which brings me to an 11.
[01:11:03] Speaker D: Oh, nice.
[01:11:05] Speaker B: Boz, you look at that guy for a second? Yeah. No, no. Maybe like no.
[01:11:14] Speaker E: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So how did you get here? How did you end up here?
[01:11:22] Speaker F: I guess I sailed the mighty oceans.
I'm a very skilled traveler and pirate of some renowned.
[01:11:36] Speaker E: And what do you know of the chicken pirates?
[01:11:42] Speaker F: What do I know of the chicken pirates?
[01:11:46] Speaker E: With them?
[01:11:47] Speaker B: For you, this will be a very, very low DC.
That's a 12 for you as a DC5. Shelby, you know, you know good and well of the Cockadoodle Doom.
[01:11:59] Speaker F: I've battled them many times.
[01:12:01] Speaker B: The Cockadoodle, the Cock a Doodle Doom is a ring of three ships all calling themselves the Cockadoodle Doom. And they are.
[01:12:08] Speaker F: It's not the Cock. The Doodle. The Doom.
[01:12:10] Speaker B: Well, it should have been clearly.
[01:12:15] Speaker E: Oh my gosh.
[01:12:17] Speaker B: Didn't think of. Great idea.
[01:12:20] Speaker F: Okay.
[01:12:20] Speaker B: The Cock a Doodle Doom are a ring of three ships. The Cock, the Doodle and the Doom. And that's now canon forever in Yallabin. And they are. They are three different gallus which are like chicken people, pirate crews. And you know, Shelby, that they sail out of Grat The COVID of thieves in the far south.
And they terrorize the Scalia Nazga. You know them? Well, they're dangerous. They're dangerous.
[01:12:43] Speaker F: Dangerous, Dangerous. I've encountered the doodle many times.
[01:12:51] Speaker A: Where were the other two?
[01:12:54] Speaker F: I don't know. What do you know?
[01:12:56] Speaker E: No, we don't like that. They're mean.
[01:12:58] Speaker D: Yeah, we ran into it. Yes.
[01:12:59] Speaker F: I hate them. Oh, they're horrible.
[01:13:00] Speaker D: Yeah, they sucked.
So where's your. Where's your.
[01:13:08] Speaker A: What are in the bottles in your crew.
[01:13:10] Speaker E: What happened to your crew?
[01:13:11] Speaker F: Well, that was a lot of questions.
[01:13:13] Speaker D: Did I drink it?
[01:13:15] Speaker F: Yeah.
[01:13:17] Speaker B: Come on, Craig.
[01:13:17] Speaker F: And I'm going to.
[01:13:18] Speaker D: Don't drink random.
[01:13:21] Speaker B: What's in that bottle? Can I do it?
[01:13:22] Speaker E: Do it, Craig.
[01:13:23] Speaker B: Do it, Craig.
[01:13:24] Speaker E: I say do it.
[01:13:25] Speaker F: There are options. I've been here for a while, so I've started to experiment. I found some cool mushrooms and some cool all kinds of fruit mushrooms. So I've been steeping a lot of stuff. Yeah, hold on.
[01:13:38] Speaker A: Kombucha.
[01:13:39] Speaker F: Nature beard says that she's a mushroom.
[01:13:43] Speaker B: No, no, Ro no longer has the beard.
[01:13:46] Speaker F: Sadly, Nature stubbles has mushrooms.
[01:13:53] Speaker B: Okay, so this is a question. I didn't think we were going to be getting to this part of the session, but Shelby, if I were to give you some options of mushrooms that you picked when you hand Craig the mushroom. Kombucha.
[01:14:08] Speaker F: Yes.
[01:14:09] Speaker B: Did you pick. Did you pick the red blue capped mushroom, the gray cap with white speckling mushroom, the pink folding mushroom, the fanned yellow mushroom, the dark purple capped mushroom, the eggshell cup mushroom, the dark brown wrinkly mushroom, the pale white blue stalked mushroom, or the dark gray mushroom or the orange yellow mushroom or the bright pink.
[01:14:38] Speaker A: Pick a bland one.
[01:14:41] Speaker F: All of those just disappeared from my brain. I feel like Terrence wouldn't have let me pick some of these. Well, which would he have let me pick? The pink fold.
[01:14:50] Speaker B: Start by giving me. Give me an odds or evens.
[01:14:54] Speaker F: Well, Pod.
[01:14:57] Speaker B: Okay, Terrence wasn't around when you picked this one, so we are going to leave this to chance. Which of those colors? Which of those colors do you remember?
[01:15:09] Speaker F: The pink folds mushroom, I think. I could not have resisted.
[01:15:14] Speaker B: Pink folds it is. You have a pink folds. A fold like and what I mean is like a mushroom that's like a series of tissue fold and it's pink. And that's the one you picked and ground up. And so Craig, you're handed a bottle that probably once contained brand.
[01:15:30] Speaker F: I'd be like, truth be told, I haven't dropped this yet. I don't know. But I will say some of these have shown me the inner workings of the creation. So I'm not sure what's going to happen if you drink this, but I am a scientist by nature, so I don't know, man. Take a swig, Craig.
[01:15:56] Speaker B: You have a pink bubbly kombucha that may or may not be alcoholic in your hand that has like a zingy zesty smell. It's.
[01:16:04] Speaker F: It's definitely alcoholic. I just have, like, the quality of alcohol I brought was multipurpose for medicinal and for cleaning. And so it's just strong.
[01:16:14] Speaker A: I put that life behind me.
I'm going to hand this turtle.
[01:16:19] Speaker F: I respect that.
[01:16:20] Speaker B: I respect so many quotes down.
[01:16:23] Speaker E: Tell. I dare you to drink it. I double dog dare you to drink it. Tello.
[01:16:27] Speaker A: I will also double a triple dog.
[01:16:33] Speaker B: Wow. Wow.
[01:16:34] Speaker E: You gotta do it.
[01:16:36] Speaker B: Oh, man. You know how easily I give him to peer pressure. Greta, this feels like a you thing.
[01:16:42] Speaker C: I. Believe me, man, I. Greta can. Greta is like on. She's like crouching down. Like a little kid would crouch down and, like, looking at the bottles like this without touching them.
I know, I'm. Mushrooms are my friend. But not to eat.
[01:17:02] Speaker E: Do what I know.
[01:17:03] Speaker B: These.
[01:17:03] Speaker E: These. This mushroom is one of the trippier.
[01:17:06] Speaker B: Ones that people usually give me a nature check. Go ahead and give me a nature check, boss.
[01:17:13] Speaker E: That is a 29.
[01:17:14] Speaker B: Oh, natural 20 29.
[01:17:18] Speaker F: What is this, please?
[01:17:24] Speaker B: This one is known colloquially by deep roots as the Fortunate Folds.
It is a magical, fairly zesty and sweet mushroom. Incredible flavor, and it seems to just sort of.
It is edible, and when consumed, it has the effect of sort of like just heightening senses and readying ability. It gives you guidance when you eat the mushroom for like the next, like, 10 minutes.
[01:17:54] Speaker E: I'll take it if y'all don't want it.
It's pretty good. People like the pink ones.
[01:18:01] Speaker D: Can you explain this as it tastes good bowls?
[01:18:04] Speaker E: Yeah, it tastes great.
[01:18:06] Speaker C: But if we all had some.
I want to taste it.
[01:18:13] Speaker B: I cannot believe has changed.
[01:18:16] Speaker D: Everybody wants to try this mushroom brew, strangers.
I'm gonna take no offense to you, Shelton.
[01:18:24] Speaker E: How much for the bottle of mushroom brew?
[01:18:27] Speaker F: Defensive.
Oh, did you offer?
What do you have?
[01:18:34] Speaker D: We don't have anything.
[01:18:36] Speaker E: What are you talking. I'm trying to buy something. I'm trying to purchase. He worked hard on this mushroom, leans.
[01:18:42] Speaker B: Down toward you and just whispers in your ear. You have literal gold in your face. And so do I. And then he stands back up.
[01:18:50] Speaker E: What if I give you chainmail plus one chainmail? Would that be. Could I trade that for it. Would that be okay? That feels like a fair trade.
[01:19:00] Speaker F: I feel like that would be if I wasn't living alone on a very peaceful and safe island currently, yeah.
[01:19:06] Speaker E: I mean, you can't forget about the dragons.
If you've been here for years, you've seen the dragons.
[01:19:14] Speaker F: I forgot about the dragons.
Can I incite that?
[01:19:20] Speaker B: Can you give me a persuasion and a deception check?
I don't tell you which 1,020.
[01:19:26] Speaker E: That is an 18, so I definitely.
[01:19:32] Speaker B: Well, Shelby, truth be told, you're not sure how long you've been here, but if there was a dragon around here, you really feel like you would have seen some evidence so far.
[01:19:41] Speaker F: And toxic.
[01:19:43] Speaker B: The thing you've gotten from this whole island so far is, holy crap. It's peaceful around here, so that just doesn't add up.
[01:19:48] Speaker F: Yes, count for offer.
[01:19:54] Speaker E: Okay.
[01:19:55] Speaker F: If there are dragons, I definitely want to leave.
[01:19:59] Speaker E: Okay.
[01:20:00] Speaker F: Could you just kind of help me shuffle on to the next landmass?
[01:20:09] Speaker E: Sure.
[01:20:10] Speaker D: Where are you from?
[01:20:13] Speaker F: Where are any of us from?
A day ago, I was from over there.
[01:20:18] Speaker D: Okay.
[01:20:21] Speaker A: I think he hit his head.
Craig whispers to Rog.
[01:20:30] Speaker B: Probably not very quiet.
[01:20:33] Speaker D: Did you. Did you come here? You said on a ship. What happened to your ship?
[01:20:38] Speaker F: I crashed. It was a vicious, horrific, violent storm. A tempest, typhoon, a veritable hurricane. There were floods, lightning. There was crashes everywhere.
[01:20:50] Speaker E: Probably from the dragons.
[01:20:52] Speaker F: Yes. Composed dragons.
Yes. And so I. All you see here, I'm going to point to the wreckage of my camp is, like, what I could salvage from my ship.
And I thought, you know, I'd just kind of hang out. It's a nice place.
[01:21:09] Speaker D: You haven't. You haven't run into anyone else online?
[01:21:14] Speaker F: Just Terrence and his silk.
[01:21:18] Speaker D: Wait, we know Terrence?
Terrence of what? Terence? Of who? Terrence. Terrence Bird.
[01:21:27] Speaker F: That's his name.
[01:21:28] Speaker A: With the bird seed.
[01:21:29] Speaker F: We didn't like birds here.
[01:21:30] Speaker B: No, no.
[01:21:31] Speaker D: Like, he likes to give you bird seed and stuff.
[01:21:35] Speaker F: Terrence has given me many things.
Dancers.
Just, you know, companionship. He's a good man.
[01:21:47] Speaker D: Yeah. If we're talking about the same Terrence, yeah, I think.
[01:21:51] Speaker E: Does it warm things up?
[01:21:55] Speaker B: I'm not sure.
[01:21:57] Speaker F: I've seen it consume it.
Him.
I don't know.
[01:22:05] Speaker D: Was he part of. Was he part of, like, you know, was he an adventurer? Like, Holy Hunters?
[01:22:13] Speaker F: If he has the soul of a mighty adventurer, he could have done well among the Holy Hunters. He would have done well among, you know, the Dream Team, even. He would have been fantastic with.
[01:22:24] Speaker D: Is Terrence in the room with us? Right now who's the dream?
[01:22:27] Speaker F: Hang on.
[01:22:28] Speaker B: Let me look.
Shelby, you look around, you don't see Terrence. He is.
[01:22:34] Speaker F: Wants to wander off a length of string that has a little lasso on the end of it. It's like he's on an adventure.
He'll be back.
[01:22:55] Speaker C: And does. When will he be back, do you know?
[01:22:58] Speaker F: It depends on how long the adventure takes him. Who can say these things?
[01:23:05] Speaker D: I look up at hello and I go, I don't think it's the same Terrence.
[01:23:08] Speaker B: Tello just nods a little bit and takes a couple steps back.
[01:23:19] Speaker D: Cool. Cool.
[01:23:21] Speaker A: What is the physical description of this, Terrence?
[01:23:26] Speaker F: How can you describe that which is in itself just an embodiment of a certain tene sais quoi it.
[01:23:34] Speaker C: I elbow.
[01:23:35] Speaker B: What color? Tyler just thinks everyone goes, oh, we're.
[01:23:39] Speaker F: Revealing a lot about you, little warrior. Why is that the person we jumped for?
[01:23:51] Speaker A: I can't win.
I can't win with these questions.
[01:23:56] Speaker E: Bro, isn't your dad supposed to be on this island? Have you seen, like, a dad, like, guy around here?
[01:24:02] Speaker F: I would like to inside that. Am I the dad?
[01:24:08] Speaker B: Okay, Shelby, giving a side check.
[01:24:15] Speaker F: Oh, that's not good. I might be. That's a nine.
[01:24:21] Speaker B: Bro.
Hold on, hold on. This is all in Shelby's head. Shelby, it's been a long time since that night in Alaban, but you're not young.
Holy crap.
[01:24:35] Speaker F: Do you have a new daughter?
[01:24:37] Speaker B: Do you have a daughter?
[01:24:39] Speaker F: She has. She's. And she plays the instruments.
[01:24:43] Speaker B: Okay, Shelby, there is a real chance these people are here to find you. How do they find you? But maybe. Maybe you have a daughter anyway. That's in your head. Continuing back to the scene.
[01:24:56] Speaker D: Well, no, Boz, but your. Your friend said that his name was not. Was not Shelby. Boz.
[01:25:04] Speaker E: He didn't say wasn't.
[01:25:05] Speaker D: Shelby, do you know Shelby, sir? Do you know.
Yes.
[01:25:11] Speaker B: Number one, A Jack.
[01:25:15] Speaker F: I know Mini Jacks. Yes.
Jack Flash, who famously sat on a candlestick. Oh, what a young dud.
[01:25:28] Speaker E: Guys, let's give her some space.
[01:25:30] Speaker D: No, no. Balls. Also, he said that Jack had eyes like mine. No offense, Shelby, but we don't. We don't really look anything alike.
[01:25:44] Speaker E: Anything's possible in the lost lands, Ro.
[01:25:47] Speaker A: Kinetics are a wild thing.
[01:25:50] Speaker D: Slowly backing up with Tello.
[01:25:53] Speaker B: Tello's just getting a big smile on his face and going, this is a big moment for you, Ro.
[01:25:57] Speaker D: No, no, I'm.
No, no, no. I believe the man we're trying to find's name is. Is Jath. With, like, a th. At the end Jath? Yeah. You haven't seen anyone else online?
[01:26:18] Speaker F: Have I encountered a Jath?
[01:26:20] Speaker B: You have not encountered anyone else, Shelby? Not so far.
[01:26:23] Speaker F: Only just me and Terence.
[01:26:26] Speaker D: Interesting.
[01:26:27] Speaker E: When you got here, was there any remnants of camp or anything left behind other than your ship?
[01:26:33] Speaker F: Nope. All that you see, I have built with the strength of my arms and the width of my brain.
[01:26:43] Speaker E: Oh, Craig. Craig.
[01:26:51] Speaker D: Hey. We've been working on it for.
[01:26:53] Speaker F: The price of my mushroom tea just went up.
[01:26:58] Speaker B: He's come a long way. Strange man.
[01:27:02] Speaker E: Used to accost Librarians. And we finally got.
[01:27:08] Speaker D: Well, I guess since everyone is asking it. Apparently you don't happen to know or have known anyone by the name of Ravenna Green Bottle?
[01:27:29] Speaker F: I mean, yes, I've heard of Robina Green. That's why I'm here. Raven Green.
[01:27:36] Speaker D: That's why you're here?
[01:27:37] Speaker F: Yes.
[01:27:39] Speaker D: Interesting.
[01:27:41] Speaker F: Why.
[01:27:44] Speaker D: I'm. Why. Why are you here? For turf.
[01:27:50] Speaker F: It's AD Just.
I don't know, I'm just kind of goofing.
Felt like I could make a name for myself if I found her, you know, Interesting.
[01:28:03] Speaker D: Well, she's no longer with us.
[01:28:06] Speaker A: She's dead.
[01:28:08] Speaker D: Thank you, Craig.
[01:28:09] Speaker F: Oh, is that confirmed?
[01:28:13] Speaker D: I.
Yes.
Pretty positive.
[01:28:19] Speaker F: Oh, well, this was a pretty bummer of a trip then.
[01:28:25] Speaker D: I mean, I don't think. I don't know why she would have been here for you to look for her.
[01:28:34] Speaker F: Oh, I just heard that, like, this was kind of the last.
You know.
[01:28:38] Speaker D: Well, yeah, Last known location. So you do know what I'm talking about.
[01:28:42] Speaker B: A little bit.
[01:28:43] Speaker C: Who told you that?
[01:28:44] Speaker D: Yeah, who told you that?
[01:28:45] Speaker F: Hey, whoa, hey, hey, whoa.
[01:28:47] Speaker B: Hey.
[01:28:49] Speaker C: I'm just curious.
[01:28:53] Speaker F: Well, you know, I. I ask questions and I turn around, I don't even remember the guy's name. I was at a bar over at Zedge, and I know one thing led to another with quite a game, and I can't remember who won, but what is important is that, you know, when I woke up, I was like, hey, that Ravenna Green bottle must be in these islands somewhere.
[01:29:18] Speaker D: How many years ago was that? That you. That you played this game in Sage?
[01:29:25] Speaker F: It was like a year. Wait, no, hang on. I said I was here several years.
Half a century, I think.
[01:29:32] Speaker D: Half a century?
[01:29:33] Speaker F: Yes.
[01:29:35] Speaker D: Yeah.
Interesting.
Well, I guess in the spirit of being honest, even though I don't really have a read on you yet, my name is Rowena Green Bottle.
That's cool.
[01:30:00] Speaker C: I guess.
[01:30:02] Speaker D: Yeah.
[01:30:03] Speaker F: Small world.
[01:30:05] Speaker D: I mean, as in. As in related. As in the daughter of Ravenna Greenvottle.
[01:30:13] Speaker F: I thought we said we were being honest.
Never mind then.
I am not Sylvie.
I am God.
[01:30:27] Speaker D: What can I.
[01:30:33] Speaker C: Is. Can I do? Is this. Can. Can I do an inside check to.
[01:30:37] Speaker E: See if he's God?
[01:30:39] Speaker B: No, boss.
[01:30:40] Speaker C: You know better check, like, sobriety level.
[01:30:45] Speaker D: Sobriety level.
[01:30:48] Speaker B: Give me a medicine check. Give me a medicine check. Greta.
[01:30:53] Speaker A: I also want to that same check.
[01:30:57] Speaker E: While they're doing that, I want to be like, hey, real quick to finalize your trade. We'll give you ride if you give me booch.
[01:31:04] Speaker D: Wait, no. I don't know if I want to give this man a ride.
[01:31:10] Speaker E: And I get the booch.
[01:31:12] Speaker B: Buzz, you can put fortunate fold kombucha in your inventory, right?
[01:31:17] Speaker E: All right. I don't know what they're gonna say after this, so I'm just hedging my bets.
[01:31:22] Speaker B: Craig and Greta, what'd you get?
[01:31:24] Speaker A: I got a squirrel.
[01:31:25] Speaker C: I got a dirty twin.
[01:31:31] Speaker B: Well, as is incredibly consistent with everything regarding Craig and alcohol in this campaign, Very afraid of it. Doesn't know much about it.
So, Craig. Man could be saucy. Who's to say?
Greta, you are.
[01:31:48] Speaker C: Lived a long life.
[01:31:49] Speaker B: Very familiar.
[01:31:50] Speaker C: Lived a long life.
[01:31:52] Speaker B: Lived a long life. You have a good read for these things. So, Shelby, I'll ask you, are you indeed saucy right now, or is this sober? Shelby?
[01:32:01] Speaker F: I was trying to sleep some off. There's not much to do on this island besides experiment. And so I did spend my morning experimenting, as is my normal practice. And then my afternoon nap was meant.
[01:32:14] Speaker B: To sleep it off.
[01:32:15] Speaker F: So I'm a little.
[01:32:17] Speaker B: Half a little. Half a.
[01:32:20] Speaker C: Okay, guys, I think he might be God.
[01:32:26] Speaker F: Have you met the guy?
[01:32:27] Speaker E: I believe it.
We should build a church here practically.
[01:32:31] Speaker B: I. Yes. In my name, Shelby.
[01:32:35] Speaker E: The church of Shelby. What are you, the God of Shelby?
[01:32:40] Speaker B: You know, feeling all the time.
[01:32:47] Speaker F: Well, I'm going to attempt to bring. I don't feel comfortable without leaving without either bringing Terrence or saying goodbye to my dear, dear friend. So that.
[01:33:00] Speaker D: That makes sense. Yeah.
[01:33:02] Speaker F: I'm going to try to call him, and I'm going to walk over to the chest and kick it open.
And, you know, he only had. There's, like, daggers and some leather armor that looks like it's never been creased in there, and he'll pull out. On top. Very carefully placed is a lyre that has, like, four strings left, because the rest, you assumed, hasn't survived this voyage. And he's kind of just tweaked it and tuned it until it's become an accidental ukulele, and he's going to just start, like, Strumming.
Something by Jason Mraz.
And I'm going to just kind of start. Every now and again, I'll stop and just scream at the top of my lungs and then go back into this beautiful song.
[01:33:58] Speaker B: Nothing happens for the first couple of minutes you do it. But then after long enough. Oh, Shelby, you see the familiar shape in the distance kind of bobbing up and down with little clouds of blue gas coming out underneath.
[01:34:14] Speaker F: No, I'm kidding.
[01:34:15] Speaker B: Is his strange oblong ovular shape, kind of like a fleshy tan, and those two bobbing stalks with the eyes at the top and the many blue tendrils beneath and just kind of fluffing along. And you all see the following creature approaching in the distance.
Baz, you are well aware enough what this is. Everyone else here. Holy crap. What in the actual crap? What the crap? What?
But, Baaz, you're very familiar with what this is. And Shelby, you see Terence floating over, and the creature is sort of like floating in little puffs. Like it's, like, floating, and then there's, like a little of blue gas, and it just floats up a little bit and then starts sailing back down. And then it's slowly bouncing in his direction.
[01:35:01] Speaker E: Oh, it's a flump.
[01:35:04] Speaker C: I love it.
[01:35:05] Speaker F: Yes.
[01:35:06] Speaker E: I love flops, I guess.
[01:35:08] Speaker F: Yes. I love Terrence.
[01:35:10] Speaker D: It's not Terrence.
[01:35:12] Speaker B: After about four minutes of slow approach, Terrence floats up next to Shelby and then just begins floating. There.
[01:35:22] Speaker A: There.
I'm afraid to. I'm afraid to. Yeah, I would, too.
[01:35:31] Speaker D: Hi, parents.
[01:35:34] Speaker B: Little disc kind of floats. And one of the ey stocks turns and looks at you. Row. And then one ey stock turns and looks at Craig. And the two different ey stocks, they're like bright blue eyes are looking one at. One at Craig and one at row. And the little tendrils just kind of lift up and do, like, a little waving.
[01:35:59] Speaker C: I'm going to look at him and go like this. My whole head.
[01:36:03] Speaker D: Okay.
[01:36:04] Speaker B: There is a lot of bobbing and waving, and it is very possible he's responding to you, but there's also just a lot of bobbing and waving going on with this creature. And it's a little hard to tell which is.
[01:36:13] Speaker D: Which is this.
[01:36:15] Speaker C: I believe that he's. To me.
[01:36:22] Speaker D: I don't mean to take away from. From you, Terence. She looks at Terence and pauses and then goes back to Shelby and goes, but are you.
Are you a bar?
[01:36:43] Speaker F: I wanted to be.
I studied for a little bit.
But then, you know, life happens. Gets in the way things happen. So I had to go back home and do some work for the family.
[01:37:02] Speaker D: And where is home?
[01:37:05] Speaker F: Home is where you make it.
[01:37:07] Speaker D: Okay.
Interesting.
Okay.
[01:37:13] Speaker F: I think home is, you know, just wherever you. You don't feel anxious about the people around you. It's like you just. You're free to be yourself. So, okay.
[01:37:25] Speaker D: After a while, yeah, I can get behind that building.
[01:37:28] Speaker F: You can have home wherever you are.
[01:37:33] Speaker D: I. Did you meet Terence here on the. On the island?
[01:37:39] Speaker F: Yes. He saved my life. He. He popped the ship when we crashed.
[01:37:46] Speaker D: He caught it, yes.
[01:37:50] Speaker B: Oh, also for reference, the creature you all are looking at is about a foot across, maybe. Maybe two feet in total length.
[01:37:58] Speaker D: Interesting.
[01:37:59] Speaker A: I believe that they're magical creatures.
[01:38:03] Speaker F: He's powerful. Maybe he's gone.
[01:38:08] Speaker C: I thought you were gone.
[01:38:09] Speaker F: I don't think he's gone.
[01:38:15] Speaker D: Okay.
Boz, you said you knew what you said this was. Terence is a what now?
[01:38:23] Speaker E: A flumph, which.
[01:38:25] Speaker F: Is that right, Terrence?
[01:38:26] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:38:26] Speaker E: I don't have flumps.
[01:38:27] Speaker B: Where you're from, the creature, there are a series of waves, and it's hard to tell whether or not it's saying yes or no.
[01:38:34] Speaker D: Wait, isn't that the name of this island?
[01:38:39] Speaker B: Yeah, it's Foofumph, which is Pixie Sylvan for Land of Flumps.
[01:38:50] Speaker D: So, Terrence, are there. Boz, does he talk? Is he actually gonna respond to me?
[01:38:56] Speaker B: Boz?
[01:38:57] Speaker F: No, he doesn't talk.
[01:38:59] Speaker B: Boz, you are aware that flumphs can speak telepathically?
[01:39:03] Speaker E: I look at it and I like.
[01:39:05] Speaker C: How do you do that?
[01:39:06] Speaker E: And I think, hey, man.
[01:39:10] Speaker B: Boz, you are aware that you can speak to them in common and they can respond telepathically?
[01:39:14] Speaker E: I stop what I'm doing after I remember that very suddenly, and I say, hey, I know you can hear me.
How's it going?
[01:39:26] Speaker F: Hey.
[01:39:29] Speaker B: You hear in your head, boss?
[01:39:31] Speaker F: Yeah, he's beyond words.
[01:39:35] Speaker E: So is Shelby. Chill.
[01:39:39] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. No, I've. I've had him for about a month or so now.
[01:39:43] Speaker F: Kind of rude to talk about me while I'm right here, honestly.
[01:39:49] Speaker B: He's potty trained. I have to help feed him, but keep him. He's a good pet. No? What?
But, yeah, he's a good time. He's just. He's a little. Sometimes he gets himself in trouble, so I have to look after him, that's all.
[01:40:04] Speaker E: Yeah, he drinks a lot.
[01:40:06] Speaker B: Does he just stare at creatures like.
[01:40:08] Speaker F: This quietly for a long time?
[01:40:10] Speaker D: He does do that sometimes.
[01:40:13] Speaker A: And then he makes up stories about what they might have said if they could talk.
[01:40:17] Speaker E: Mr. Flump, what's your name, by the way.
[01:40:21] Speaker B: Boz. You hear in your head, well, my name is.
[01:40:25] Speaker E: All right, I respond, imperfect resemblance of that name, because Boz knows how to pronounce that stuff.
[01:40:31] Speaker B: But Landon, sure, yeah, that feels. That feels right.
And I say everything Boz is saying. Boz is talking to the thing out loud.
[01:40:37] Speaker D: Nothing.
[01:40:38] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah.
[01:40:38] Speaker E: How long have you lived here for?
[01:40:40] Speaker B: By the way, the responds and says, well, my people don't really age, so a very long time.
[01:40:54] Speaker E: Did you ever know someone named Jath that describes. We know about him.
I describe his appearance, what we heard from the deeper.
[01:41:05] Speaker B: Well, I'm just going to start my thing.
[01:41:08] Speaker D: Ro takes out. Ro takes out the leaf that she has. And she doesn't really. She just figures that Boz is like, speaking with animals or whatever, you know? And so she. She shows that to him. She just holds it to Terence, you.
[01:41:21] Speaker B: Totally changed what was happening because he didn't know. And then the little eye stalk turns and looks at the leaf and goes, well, I don't know the name of anyone here, but there's someone who lives on the opposite side of the island who has some of that.
[01:41:34] Speaker D: Did he say that? In my head.
[01:41:36] Speaker B: Talking to. Talking to, boss.
[01:41:37] Speaker E: Oh, he says he knows someone on the other side of the island that has stuff like that.
[01:41:43] Speaker D: What? Really?
[01:41:45] Speaker E: Yeah.
[01:41:46] Speaker B: How are you.
[01:41:47] Speaker D: How are you talking to him, Boss?
[01:41:49] Speaker E: You just talk. You just talk to him.
[01:41:51] Speaker D: Hi. Hi. Hello.
You. You know someone that has this thing.
[01:41:59] Speaker B: Everyone in their heads, including Shelby, hears. All right, I guess I can't keep this up anymore. Shelby, I can talk.
I know. Well, you gotta admit, it was pretty funny.
[01:42:12] Speaker F: It's a pretty sick reveal, actually.
[01:42:15] Speaker B: And also, I want to be clear, just because my name is doesn't mean that I don't like Shelby. I think of it as a good nickname.
[01:42:27] Speaker F: How do. What is it?
[01:42:29] Speaker B: No, no, no. You're close.
[01:42:33] Speaker E: It's more the back of the throat. And I paused.
[01:42:35] Speaker B: In the back of the throat. I mean, I don't have a.
[01:42:37] Speaker F: But, yeah.
What. What do you eat?
[01:42:42] Speaker B: I don't.
[01:42:44] Speaker F: I knew it.
[01:42:45] Speaker D: You don't eat?
[01:42:47] Speaker B: Nope. Nope. Don't have to.
[01:42:48] Speaker D: Interesting.
[01:42:49] Speaker C: Do you sleep?
[01:42:50] Speaker B: Yep. Nope.
[01:42:53] Speaker C: Oh.
[01:42:53] Speaker A: Do you breathe?
[01:42:57] Speaker F: This is why you never showed me your talk, Isn't he. You don't.
[01:43:01] Speaker B: To be honest, Shelby, when you got here, you were in a rough state. I felt like maybe this was too much. I felt like maybe it was doing. You put the leash on me, and I realized that.
And no offense, a tiny little blue tendril rests on your shoulder softly. I could tell you needed this. And so I just. I didn't want to mess this up. It seemed like a. Yep. Bring it in. And as you. As you. As you hug it, Shelby, the little tendrils wrap around you very weakly as you hug it and squeeze it. Oh, you've never squeezed Terence. Very squishy. Squishes a lot. Almost to the point you think you might be hurting him, but he seems fine. And then as you hug him, all this little blue gas squeezes up.
[01:43:40] Speaker F: Yeah.
[01:43:44] Speaker D: Ro elbows tello and goes, Aw. This kind of sweet.
[01:43:48] Speaker A: Parted.
[01:43:49] Speaker B: Yeah.
Rolling sweet.
Oh, Abby said I won't be having any of that in my house. And on that bizarre and strange note, that's where we'll end.
[01:44:01] Speaker C: Oh, nevermind.
[01:44:03] Speaker B: That's where we'll end. Episode 118 of the Accidental Adventures.
And so we'll take a very brief break and then come back. But everyone, you gain 0.03 levels.
[01:44:17] Speaker F: Is that the same for me?
[01:44:20] Speaker B: No, as a guest character, you really don't have to. You could just. If you were to ever come back in the future, you might just be. I just like depending on the story.
[01:44:26] Speaker F: Stuff because you're incredibly prepared for most things.
[01:44:29] Speaker B: Well, thank you, Mr. Num Nums, but no 0.03 for everyone else.
[01:44:33] Speaker D: 11.
[01:44:34] Speaker B: This has been weird, but stick around because it's going to get weirder. What was that?
[01:44:38] Speaker D: 11.722.
[01:44:40] Speaker B: Excellent.
So with that, we'll go to break. Life is an incredible adventure. Listener, you're an important part of it, and we will see you next time. Skibidiwob by RA.
