Episode Transcript
[00:00:00] Speaker A: Foreign.
[00:00:06] Speaker B: D. Your sort of Dungeons and Dragons cast. This is Jackie coming at you, your favorite bard. At least I hope so.
Today we're back with another episode, and I am super proud to say that this is episode number one, two, three.
[00:00:26] Speaker A: Oh, that's so exciting. Episode one, two, three.
[00:00:29] Speaker C: Okay, we'll never be here again, guys.
[00:00:32] Speaker A: Oh, that's true.
[00:00:34] Speaker B: Well, maybe in Campaign 2.
[00:00:35] Speaker A: Campaign 2, and it probably happens again, but we'll never be in that of this campaign again.
[00:00:39] Speaker C: This is once in a lifetime again.
[00:00:42] Speaker A: That's. That's very unlikely.
[00:00:44] Speaker B: Shout out to Aldi White Chocolate Vegan Peppermint Popcorn.
[00:00:48] Speaker A: It's already twice in a lifetime for me, actually.
[00:00:52] Speaker C: Cheese flavored corn snacks.
[00:00:54] Speaker A: Shout out to Lagerfeld and sponsor us.
[00:00:57] Speaker D: Shout out to Pancreatitis.
[00:00:59] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, that sucks. It's bad because something's bad for Landon. That's not bad for the rest of us.
[00:01:05] Speaker D: My doctor, you had a letter related to the COVID vaccine, too, so there's that.
Yeah, I do have a letter.
[00:01:12] Speaker A: Probably shouldn't say that on a con. On a podcast.
[00:01:16] Speaker D: No, you should still get the COVID vaccine.
What's the letter question?
The ladder question is, what if your character were part of the ocean's 11 heist? What would you be stealing?
[00:01:31] Speaker A: Wow, that's a. That's a really, really good question.
[00:01:35] Speaker C: And I'm well prepared. My media that I have consumed has prepared me well to answer this question.
[00:01:40] Speaker A: That's sarcasm. Who do we want? The dmnpc.
[00:01:43] Speaker C: I will go first.
[00:01:44] Speaker D: I For the dmnpc. I'm not choosing nom because that's obvious. I would love to know what the turtle from would be stealing from Home Cove.
[00:01:58] Speaker A: Yes, Tesha.
[00:02:00] Speaker D: Okay, what would her Ocean's Eleven team be stealing? And for bonus points, name one or two members that you would have to have on your team. Bonus points.
[00:02:09] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:02:10] Speaker A: They need to be other NPCs from y'all of them.
[00:02:13] Speaker D: Yes.
[00:02:15] Speaker C: I was much more well prepared for the one from the media.
[00:02:20] Speaker A: You are Rap.
[00:02:22] Speaker C: If I was on an Ocean's Thirteen stealth mission, what I would steal would probably be a book.
[00:02:32] Speaker A: This is Greta. Well, that still fits Greta. Yeah. Okay. Who would be on Greta's team?
[00:02:39] Speaker C: Probably the one with the short haircut and the one that's really strong from the movie.
[00:02:43] Speaker A: Okay.
Oh, not from y'all been.
[00:02:47] Speaker D: It has to be a. Y'all are in PC Abby, not the characters of the movie.
[00:02:51] Speaker A: Also, I love that you don't know any of the characters from the movie well enough to give them names.
[00:02:55] Speaker C: I just Love that movie so much. I really wanted to use those characters.
[00:02:59] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:02:59] Speaker A: Have you seen the other movies that go with it?
[00:03:03] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:03:03] Speaker B: Let me.
[00:03:04] Speaker A: Part of a good series of movies. They're great movies.
[00:03:08] Speaker C: Let me see. Yeah. I love the ocean movies. I love the Atlantic one. I love the one we're in the Pacific. My favorite is the one where the Arctic. A lot of people forget about the Arctic.
[00:03:19] Speaker A: I've just quietly farted in protest. Ro, what's yours?
Oh, the only one suffering is me.
[00:03:33] Speaker B: Sergi. Right.
I feel like Roe Row would. I mean, rose down to steel, man. I feel like it would be It. I feel like it would be the magic cupcake from that. From the first. From the Patreon one shot. Because Ro was like, yo, magic cupcakes. I'm in. Very on Brand and her team would consist of. We're not allowed to have the. It's not the fun guys. Like, it has to be fun guys. Other NPCs, obviously, I would pick the. You can't.
[00:04:07] Speaker A: You can't take the one with short hair and the buff one. Those are. Dang it.
[00:04:11] Speaker B: Those are my favorites. Yeah, it would be. My team would consist of Nan, the. The Stick man, and he's like the weird, you know, half.
[00:04:32] Speaker A: You need a distraction. You needed to. He's an excellent distraction.
[00:04:35] Speaker B: Exactly. And lastly lastly, Bolgrog. From Bolgrog. And Eek.
[00:04:45] Speaker A: Love it.
[00:04:45] Speaker B: I would say Eek, but she's not an npc, so that's a killer answer.
[00:04:50] Speaker A: I love it.
[00:04:50] Speaker B: We need the brawn, you know.
[00:04:52] Speaker A: Excellent. Boz. What's his ocean?
[00:04:57] Speaker D: Oz would try to steal the coronet of the Arch Druid and Illmator's invocation from that one shop on Magic Lane. And he would grab. He would not grab. He would ask Bella, Andra and. No, no, listen to me here. Listen to me here.
[00:05:15] Speaker A: I'm listening. I'm listening.
[00:05:17] Speaker D: He would ask Bella, Andra, and the Countess to help him steal it.
[00:05:26] Speaker A: Oh, a tight trio. Yeah.
[00:05:30] Speaker D: Bella, Andra, because she fits into that world of things and can probably speak the guy, you know, because they're both a little bit of, like, turd munchers. You know what I mean? And I feel like they both speak fluent turd bunch and they could probably, like, do their own thing. And the Countess, for if things go south and she can show, be like, I am the Queen.
[00:05:52] Speaker A: Stop.
[00:05:53] Speaker D: Stop calling the police.
[00:05:54] Speaker A: We have to leave.
[00:05:55] Speaker D: You know, and then we can just go.
[00:05:57] Speaker B: Either one of those. Agreeing to do a heist with you, though, I.
[00:06:01] Speaker A: It's his fantasy scenario.
[00:06:03] Speaker D: My fantasy. Ocean's Eleven. Okay. It's one last job. You think for one last job.
[00:06:09] Speaker A: Everybody already got short hair and the strong one. Those are huge deals. Okay, we're working with what we have here.
Who did you guys say the DM NPC was?
[00:06:20] Speaker B: Hurdle Lady Tesha.
[00:06:24] Speaker A: What would she do?
I don't think she would steal, but were she stealing, she would probably steal.
You know what? I think Tesha would also steal the cupcake of deliciousness, but as like a.
As like a cutesy thing. And I think her. Her team would be full of inept, sweet people. So it'd be like Tesha and Spagh Goober and Aldenor and who else? Just a bunch of weirdos. Clanis Blandon.
Just a bunch of really sweet. Oh, oh.
Spaghetti. Who wouldn't be happy to be there? Just a bunch of really ineffectual goobers. And it would go comically awry. Except that she's an incredibly powerful druid, so she could probably make it work in the end.
[00:07:16] Speaker C: That would be really fun to watch.
[00:07:19] Speaker A: Yeah, it'd be a ton of fun.
Anywho, without further ado, for the note taking notes. For those who take notes, this is accidental Adventures, episode 123. Episode 1, 2, 3. How momentous.
[00:07:38] Speaker C: Never to happen.
[00:07:39] Speaker A: 120. What?
[00:07:41] Speaker C: Never to happen again.
[00:07:43] Speaker D: Zach, can I have a suggestion for the last episode's name?
[00:07:46] Speaker B: What?
[00:07:48] Speaker D: Can I make a suggestion real quick right now?
[00:07:50] Speaker B: I think that's a no.
[00:07:52] Speaker A: Yeah, go ahead.
[00:07:53] Speaker D: It's. It's okay. So bear with me. The other. And then in parentheses, other side of the rainbow.
[00:08:02] Speaker C: I don't get it.
[00:08:03] Speaker B: I don't know.
[00:08:04] Speaker A: This is episode 123.
[00:08:06] Speaker D: Other side of the rainbow. But it. But it has other in there. Because I was a rainbow cat and it's all about me.
[00:08:20] Speaker A: The setup with that delivery was good. The punchline was strong. Episode 123, Friend or Faye.
This is a level 11 event yard. That is 34. 88. Puba Kalilon 17.
[00:08:37] Speaker B: Insane.
[00:08:40] Speaker D: We skipped two days so I could take feel free back home.
Because per curfew.
[00:08:46] Speaker A: Per curfew, yes. All right, caller lunch 17, are you all ready?
Do it, boss. Since you cast tree stride again, let's open the session with you rolling a retroactive D100.
[00:09:04] Speaker D: Oh, no. I bet if I'm gone from the island before.
[00:09:09] Speaker A: Yeah, you still got a tree stride away.
[00:09:11] Speaker D: Okay, that is 71.
[00:09:16] Speaker A: Do you want to do the advantage thing?
[00:09:18] Speaker D: Oh, yeah.
[00:09:22] Speaker A: I ain't trying to stiff yet.
[00:09:23] Speaker D: 97. 71. And 97.
[00:09:29] Speaker A: Let me scroll.
[00:09:31] Speaker D: I like it when.
[00:09:32] Speaker A: Again. And I just. I just want to stop and document how wild this is. You have received two completely harmless rolls. Again, Boss is now at 10 straight rolls of no negative options. And that's not even counting his previous excellent roles. When I say the Lovelands loves Boz more than Roe, it's true.
[00:09:49] Speaker B: The Lovelands love Boss more than Ross.
[00:09:53] Speaker A: The lovelands. So with a 71, something very mild and unimportant will happen. With a 97, something very good will happen.
[00:10:03] Speaker D: 97, I'll take very good.
[00:10:06] Speaker A: Okay, roll two D4 plus four for me, and then a D10. Two D4 plus four.
[00:10:12] Speaker D: That is five. Nine.
[00:10:14] Speaker A: Are you rolling dice electronically?
[00:10:16] Speaker D: Yes.
[00:10:17] Speaker A: I'm gonna try and forgive you for that.
[00:10:20] Speaker D: I don't have enough desk space, and I haven't been able to clean it. Sorry.
[00:10:24] Speaker A: Makes me sad. And then roll a D10.
[00:10:26] Speaker B: Roll it on the floor.
[00:10:27] Speaker D: Okay, so I got a five. No, no, nine. Nine, because it's plus four. And then you said a D10.
[00:10:33] Speaker A: Mm.
[00:10:35] Speaker D: A D10 is a five.
[00:10:37] Speaker A: Okay, for the next nine days, you have resistance to lightning damage.
[00:10:46] Speaker B: Oh.
[00:10:50] Speaker A: That'S phenomenal.
Oh, no. Excuse me. Resistance to thunder damage.
[00:10:59] Speaker D: Oh, that's good too.
[00:11:00] Speaker A: I'm typing in your channel. Yeah, I'm typing in your channel. So you get just. You just have a whole resistance. A whole damage resistance for the next nine days.
[00:11:07] Speaker B: Oh, man, I can hit you with shatter.
[00:11:11] Speaker A: Do you remember that time that Roe just got shunted to her death?
[00:11:15] Speaker B: Almost good times.
[00:11:17] Speaker A: And then she was all blue and farty. Well, boss is just like, oh, look, I'm a magical cat now. I'm resistant. No.
[00:11:23] Speaker B: Grew a beard. Can't see your beard.
[00:11:27] Speaker D: Can't see. What next will I be? It should be a new song.
[00:11:31] Speaker A: I can't see. I'm just blue and farty.
[00:11:34] Speaker C: He's weak. Mom, spaghetti. Blue can't see.
[00:11:38] Speaker A: See, I don't want to meet my.
[00:11:40] Speaker D: Dad until I'm ready.
[00:11:42] Speaker A: All far. Oh, I'll party.
[00:11:44] Speaker D: Yeah, that's good too.
[00:11:48] Speaker A: All farty. Yeah, that's good, too.
[00:11:50] Speaker B: It's your birthday.
[00:11:54] Speaker A: You're weak.
[00:12:05] Speaker B: All right.
[00:12:06] Speaker A: Okay. This has been a wild. A wild attraction. Okay, so what that party do?
This is the morning after having returned. The heart returned belfry. Everybody's back on the aisle.
[00:12:23] Speaker D: I give the heart a little kiss. I'm gonna put it back where I found it and.
All right, guys.
[00:12:28] Speaker A: Also, Abby, so sorry. Boz divinated over the heart and saw that it belonged to someone living in a Pentagonal castle on a giant clif with four towers rising out of it, one in one big one in the middle, three small ones on the side.
[00:12:44] Speaker D: I think it's the Count's heart.
[00:12:45] Speaker B: I was going to say. I have a question.
[00:12:47] Speaker C: What was.
[00:12:50] Speaker B: Was the. Was this the same.
What is. Was this the. Was this cliff look like that was a good sentence.
[00:12:59] Speaker D: Hey, dm, can you tell me that.
[00:13:02] Speaker B: Was it the same description?
[00:13:04] Speaker A: Boz, give me a history check.
[00:13:06] Speaker D: I'm gonna do a history check.
[00:13:07] Speaker A: Insight. History or insight to like, either recall it clearly or to try and make some sort of a connection.
[00:13:16] Speaker D: Let me find those.
[00:13:23] Speaker A: Oh, it's a nine, bro. That's a nine.
I mean, you got a very abstract representation in your more recent vision, so it's kind of hard to make the.
[00:13:34] Speaker B: Comparison because you were high.
[00:13:39] Speaker A: But then you got high, so what the party doing?
[00:13:46] Speaker B: I.
Oh, well said.
[00:13:49] Speaker D: You know, my carpet, guys. It's nice.
[00:13:52] Speaker A: Folds out the leaf, which just. Why.
What was that fa. Like, what were you. What was, eh. About that. I don't even know.
[00:14:00] Speaker C: Get on my carpet guy.
[00:14:02] Speaker B: Yeah, it was. Seemed weird. I don't know.
It was a little. It was a little. Hey, kid, want to see the inside of my van?
[00:14:11] Speaker A: Is it for the carpet to your friends?
[00:14:14] Speaker B: What's the.
[00:14:15] Speaker A: What's the ick there?
[00:14:16] Speaker C: Hey, get on my carpet.
[00:14:20] Speaker A: No, no, no. Let's invest in this in a second. When has anyone in the universe tried to pick somebody else up by going, hey, wanna get on my carpet?
[00:14:29] Speaker C: Well, also, is it Boz's carpet or is it the party's carpet?
[00:14:33] Speaker D: Yay, it's definitely mine.
[00:14:35] Speaker C: On my carpet.
[00:14:37] Speaker A: Anywho, the leaf is there.
[00:14:40] Speaker B: It was a borrowed carpet.
[00:14:42] Speaker D: This is not a communist carpet.
[00:14:43] Speaker B: Okay. This is borrowed.
[00:14:45] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:14:46] Speaker B: It was a.
[00:14:48] Speaker A: Okay. Anyway. Anyway, and then the party moves on for this deeply unimportant thing.
[00:14:54] Speaker B: So I go up to.
To Faber and I give him pets, and I go, are you gonna. Are you gonna be okay here? Just, you know, he just stares at.
[00:15:07] Speaker A: You blankly in the way of a cat.
[00:15:10] Speaker B: She gives him a little kiss on the head.
[00:15:12] Speaker A: He rubs his head into your face, and Jath reaches down and picks him up and just scratches him on the head and goes. I'm gonna take good care of him.
[00:15:20] Speaker B: I know you are.
[00:15:21] Speaker A: I really. I really hope I see you again.
[00:15:25] Speaker B: Oh, I. I plan on it.
Yeah, no, definitely.
I'll. I will try to call you if I can.
[00:15:47] Speaker A: I love that. I. I love that.
Remember to just keep throwing your boat.
I can make those jokes now.
[00:16:01] Speaker B: I get it.
[00:16:01] Speaker A: I've.
[00:16:01] Speaker B: I've been making those for years and I'm not a dad, so.
[00:16:05] Speaker A: Probably got a secret child out there, so.
[00:16:07] Speaker B: Oh, I. I think I might know if that's the case.
[00:16:11] Speaker A: The wind comes by and just goes sirloin cross.
[00:16:14] Speaker D: You and the king did have that romantic getaway after this first act, so.
[00:16:21] Speaker B: Yes. And he had the baby instead of Ro.
[00:16:25] Speaker A: Well, this has gotten weird.
[00:16:28] Speaker D: New horses. That's all I'm saying.
[00:16:30] Speaker A: I don't know why things got out fast. Brick killed a guy with a trident.
[00:16:36] Speaker B: So anyway.
[00:16:40] Speaker A: And he just goes in.
[00:16:42] Speaker D: I was homeschooled.
[00:16:49] Speaker A: Anywho, Jeff continues and says, I'm glad you washed up on my island.
[00:16:59] Speaker D: I'm sorry. I'm sorry.
[00:17:09] Speaker B: I am too. I'm really.
[00:17:13] Speaker A: It was quite it for three minutes. The joke.
Okay.
[00:17:29] Speaker B: I'm really, really glad. It's.
This has been greater than I could have ever imagined.
And she. She.
She goes in for the hug this time.
[00:17:49] Speaker A: He hugs back. Sorry. Abby just keeps looking away.
[00:17:53] Speaker B: He said bye.
[00:17:57] Speaker D: Next time maybe he can meet your ex fiance. Sir Loin crotch.
Great guy.
[00:18:08] Speaker B: I'm still so angry I let you guys name him that.
[00:18:12] Speaker A: He.
He smiles warmly.
I'll be coming back on.
[00:18:17] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:18:18] Speaker A: He smiles warmly and he just wraps you up in a hug. He does. He does. One more little kiss on the head.
[00:18:26] Speaker B: Be safe, dad.
[00:18:29] Speaker A: Go save the world.
[00:18:33] Speaker B: We'll try.
[00:18:36] Speaker A: You'll succeed.
And you climb on your little leaf bill free. And the heart are gone. The fun guys climb on. And you guys.
Somebody takes the stem. And you guys just start lifting off. And you look back as your dad. And the landscape behind you gets smaller and smaller as you guys rise up, you soar and you fly and you fly upward and onward.
Hold on. Can I control that in smaller increments?
There we go. Is the audio changing for anybody?
[00:19:17] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:19:18] Speaker A: The music. Okay. Excellent.
Okay, so the party sails offward on the leaf Boz. Why don't you give me one of them extremely experienced Lawson's navigational survival checks. She trying to figure out where the party goes.
[00:19:35] Speaker B: Can I assist?
Because of my navigational skills and my half dryadic.
[00:19:42] Speaker A: You have a lot of reason in your.
Well, you have. You have advantage from the health action.
[00:19:50] Speaker D: So I sold a natural 20 plus 9. That is a 29.
[00:19:57] Speaker B: 20 noy 20. No.
I got really excited.
[00:20:03] Speaker A: I love how Dice and D and D turned Jackie into like a sports bro.
She's over here. Like cowboys. Feel like we the boys, but with dice.
[00:20:15] Speaker B: Oh.
[00:20:16] Speaker A: Oh, okay.
[00:20:18] Speaker B: Did you just fart?
[00:20:20] Speaker A: It was rancid.
[00:20:23] Speaker D: Okay. No, real quick, Zach, I have a really important announcement to make. Oh, no, this is actually really important.
[00:20:29] Speaker A: Oh, no.
[00:20:30] Speaker D: I learned how to fart again.
[00:20:34] Speaker B: I'm writing it down.
[00:20:36] Speaker D: I'm writing it down.
[00:20:36] Speaker A: I'm not joking.
[00:20:38] Speaker D: I'm not joking.
[00:20:40] Speaker B: I really did.
What's the process of learning how do you.
[00:20:47] Speaker D: A lot of fear.
[00:20:49] Speaker B: A lot of fear.
[00:20:52] Speaker D: But I trusted myself, I listened to myself, and I successfully done it, like, 15 times now without a single malfunction.
[00:21:08] Speaker A: Yes, guys, we are coming in hard with that second episode energy.
[00:21:15] Speaker C: I'm really proud of you, Luke.
[00:21:17] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:21:17] Speaker A: Episode 123.
[00:21:19] Speaker D: Melanie, last night, and I didn't.
[00:21:21] Speaker B: You woke up.
[00:21:24] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:21:25] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:21:28] Speaker D: Different tmi, but it's not the same anymore. But I love them, you know, they're still mine.
All right, we can keep going.
[00:21:36] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:21:36] Speaker D: I just wanted. I just needed to tell you guys because y'all are my friends.
Been five years. Okay. It's been five years.
[00:21:48] Speaker B: I'm proud of you, Landon.
[00:21:49] Speaker D: Thank you, guys. Thank you, story.
[00:21:53] Speaker B: In honor of. In honor of that. And while Zach calms down from the laughing, I'm gonna tell you guys why you need to listen to the episode that me, Daniel, and Caleb did the other day. Caleb's character got our attention. Not by using light or anything like that. He was, like, under the water.
[00:22:14] Speaker D: Caleb, play.
[00:22:15] Speaker B: Yeah, he got our attention by casting Stinking Cloud.
[00:22:21] Speaker D: Like Zach, Old roommate Caleb.
[00:22:24] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:22:25] Speaker D: Fun.
[00:22:26] Speaker B: And there were some really cool things.
And you should listen to that episode, guys, if you're out there listening, but letting Zach calm down while I gave that announcement and how he got our attention with Stinking Cloud instead of just, you know, being normal.
Okay.
[00:22:45] Speaker D: All right. Oh, I love you so much that.
[00:22:50] Speaker A: I have the best people. So thank you, Abby. Thank you, Landon. I can tell you with some real confidence, there might be no one else in your life more genuinely proud and happy for you that you've got your farts back than me. I mean, really, I almost cried.
[00:23:03] Speaker D: I really did.
[00:23:04] Speaker A: Fills me with joy and with pride. Thank you, sis. Bros. Dude. Cis Bros. So sisters. That's right. I don't know if there's anything in the world I love more than making Abby do the face. Making Abby do a yikes is just my joy.
All right. Okay, so you guys are on the leaf, and it is flying into the air.
[00:23:31] Speaker B: That would kind of be so hard.
[00:23:35] Speaker D: What is going on?
[00:23:37] Speaker A: I just yawned.
[00:23:39] Speaker D: I just yawned.
[00:23:41] Speaker A: That's all I did.
All right, so the party's flying in the air with 29 boss.
Very confident in some decisions. With a 29 boss and row boss. You feel the. The powerful pull of the next aisle. The most magically volatile and ro. You're starting to get it. Trying to get the sensation that Boz uses to home to these different precipitations of erratic deep magic rotating Ogba. And the party sails away on the giant flying leaf.
It is going to be a journey. The distance is always variable. Is there anything important happening in the course of travel?
Doesn't need to be him. Just check him.
[00:24:54] Speaker D: I want to.
[00:24:58] Speaker A: What I want to.
[00:24:59] Speaker D: Do what I want to do.
[00:25:00] Speaker A: Oh, yes. Super important thing. Dinosaurs were confirmed to exist in the one shot.
[00:25:07] Speaker B: Abby, you're muted.
[00:25:12] Speaker C: All right. That's crazy.
[00:25:14] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah.
[00:25:14] Speaker A: When it happened we distinctly said wow, it's a huge bummer. Abby is still here.
[00:25:18] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:25:19] Speaker C: We literally was it in the past time and wow.
[00:25:26] Speaker A: In the past.
[00:25:26] Speaker B: Be right back.
[00:25:28] Speaker A: Any who what that party do is y'all fly.
[00:25:30] Speaker D: You just fly till we get there.
[00:25:33] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:25:33] Speaker A: Greta, anything specific?
[00:25:37] Speaker C: I practice celestial with row.
[00:25:41] Speaker A: Okay.
Duty eight for me. You got a lot of time on your hands.
Y'all get tired of hearing them practicing celestial. It goes on for so long. Also there's this real tension because everywhere you're flying like, you're flying like a quarter mile above the ocean. So there's a real. I better not drop this book.
[00:26:04] Speaker C: You said two D8.
That's a two and a six.
[00:26:13] Speaker A: Okay. Eight hours added to your experience.
[00:26:16] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:26:17] Speaker A: Also, are you continuing to practice uncinian?
[00:26:21] Speaker C: Yeah. I talk with Tello. I feel like I talk with Tello quite often.
And sometimes we have like.
Sometimes it's just like I feel like it would just be me yapping just to practice. And he's like, uh huh, uh huh.
[00:26:38] Speaker A: Oui, oui. Yes. Go ahead and roll me a D12. For the last like week of just chatting away with him.
[00:26:45] Speaker C: I want to write this down. Okay.
[00:26:50] Speaker A: Anything specific or important to boss in the course of travel or just guide them to leave.
Okay. Long pause, awkward stare.
[00:27:00] Speaker D: He just flies in.
[00:27:02] Speaker A: Just flies.
[00:27:03] Speaker C: It's a four.
[00:27:05] Speaker A: Okay. Four more hours of insinion. Where are you at? You're at. You're at.
What's your current status?
[00:27:17] Speaker C: Okay, I just hit with the four. I'm at.
[00:27:24] Speaker A: No, I'm sorry. What's your descriptor for your current conversation? Conversational. Okay. So you can just talk to anybody about anything. You're still working on being fluent. Okay.
[00:27:34] Speaker C: Yeah.
Is that four plus seven?
So also get the eight hours?
[00:27:44] Speaker A: Yes. Yeah, she'll get those as well.
You guys are sorry Luna's in front of me. You guys sail for another day and a half over open ocean. There is a night spent. It's also. It's weird. The leaf is big enough to account all of you, but just barely. So when you're sleeping at night, everybody sleeps real hudded up. A lot of. A lot of, like, back to back and, like, little spoons because, like, you roll the wrong direction and you're gonna die. So, like, people get tied up by ropes. But another day and a half sailing later through the sky, sailing, flying on the leaf.
You guys see in the far distance a big mass of stone in earth, and you feel the. You feel the pull getting strong. You guys. Behold, curved and onto lomuloth in the distance.
What that party?
Just more moving toward it. No other particular notes. It's fine if that's the case.
[00:28:54] Speaker C: What is this?
[00:28:58] Speaker A: It is 9:23.
Nice p.m. a.m.
Oh, the island. You guys just see, like, a strip of dark stone and mass. Boz.
This is famously the most chaotic and unpredictable of the isles. Famous for being hard to get to, famous for having some sort of a secret entry to the isle. Has Boz traveled here in all his years or. This isn't a place the deep roots would have traveled and you would have known that the bees don't really congregate here. But had he gone on his own. Okay, no. It's all new to you. So you see a dark mass of stone in the far distance, and the leaf is sailing toward it, starting to lower its. Its height on its way.
[00:29:47] Speaker D: It was always somewhere he wanted to go, and he was like, one day, I'll make the trip. I'll make the trek to Tumthalophthalmoloth or.
[00:29:53] Speaker A: Whatever, and you're struck by curve to Nantalambuluf being finally in the distance after all this time. I'm gonna type it into the chat just so if anyone cares to see it. It's fine if you don't.
[00:30:06] Speaker C: Do you share with us, like, do you know, based on just rumors and, like, basic lore about the there being, like, a secret entrance?
[00:30:16] Speaker D: Yeah, I think I share that. Approaching the. Basically, like, hey, I don't really know what to expect here. There's a lot of hearsay and rumors. Not let those people go here.
I don't.
Yeah, I share all that with you guys.
[00:30:29] Speaker C: Okay, cool.
[00:30:32] Speaker A: Basically, this is the Lost Lands of the Lost Lands. So wonderful.
[00:30:37] Speaker C: Keepers.
[00:30:39] Speaker B: So balls. Do you think because this place is, like, even more secret and stuff and crazy and unpredictable and all, you think it's gonna be worse if we like, like worse about like us casting. Casting and stuff and it not working.
[00:31:02] Speaker A: Voice come by, comes by in the wind and goes. It's the same basic mechanic. Mechanic.
[00:31:07] Speaker D: Boss says yes. He says yes. It probably will, but you probably shouldn't cast anything.
[00:31:12] Speaker B: Insight.
[00:31:15] Speaker A: You win.
The leaf is flying toward the aisle.
[00:31:19] Speaker D: Anything other than just without trace.
[00:31:22] Speaker B: Fly without trace.
[00:31:23] Speaker D: Fly without trace.
[00:31:25] Speaker C: That's funny.
[00:31:27] Speaker A: As the party grows nearer, you guys make out the strange shores of a giant, massive stone. First of all, from a great height, it's hard to see at such great distance. The island spans very far. But there's this huge body of land by which you can see the other side. And it begins to curve away from you in the distance. And the weird part is there's a gap and then another section from so high above it. You can see that you're having to guess some of the geometry here because it's literally so far along that you can't see it all within your scope of vision at this point. But basically, the island curves in a swirl. It's a long strip of land moving in a swirl. A very broken, ragged swirl with many fractured land, little smaller islands off of its edges. And you have any guess much of that shape because it is massive, you cannot see it all. Not. You don't even begin to. But based on the gaps of where the water and where it moves back around, there's at least one concentric swirl to this pattern.
[00:32:32] Speaker C: What are the clouds? Are there any, like, significant cloud features surrounding the.
[00:32:38] Speaker A: None above it.
Completely clear sky about a mile out in each direction. There are sort of like stratus clouds stretched across the sky, but not over the island for about a mile every direction.
[00:32:55] Speaker B: You said moving, like, can we. You said like, are.
Is our parts of the island, like, moving enough where we can see it, or do you mean like it's just like swirled the way the.
[00:33:11] Speaker A: The islands are always rotating around Dogba?
[00:33:16] Speaker B: No, I know that, but I mean.
[00:33:18] Speaker A: This island, the island shape. Yeah, the swirl is cinnamon rolly.
[00:33:24] Speaker B: Okay. But it's not. It's not like rolling as we look at it. Okay.
[00:33:30] Speaker A: As you get closer to the. To the island itself and near its lands, you see that it appears to be an almost completely barren landscape of harsh, stark, burgundy gray stone. If Craig was here, he could make a rock check, but he's not.
As you guys lower the leaf and begin to try and search for a place to land, the stone rises and drastically falls. It has dramatic and unnatural divisions, pits, hills, fissures. None of it's smooth, always abrupt and broken and pitted and cracked and fractured.
The swirling shape pattern is inexplicable, with ocean tides falling on the far islands between its arms on either side. The only break to the contrast of reddish brown and sudden swathes of these. Like, basically there's like reddish brown all over the stone everywhere. And from a height above, as you're flying, you're seeing sudden strips of color hundreds and hundreds of feet long, each of them like paint abstractly moving over a landscape. Some are bright white, some are reddish orange, others are like a whitish green. Some are a pale blue. And some meet each other and intermix and they're just like swaths of them across the stone of the island.
[00:34:48] Speaker C: Does it look like other stones?
[00:34:51] Speaker A: You're too high up right now to tell.
You're very much looking over the broad strokes of the landscape.
So what that party.
[00:35:04] Speaker B: Where does it look like there's any spot here that looks even remotely able to land?
[00:35:12] Speaker A: You guys lower the leaf enough and you can find some. There's no area here ever purposely flat, but you find some low enough declines or inclines. It's an uneven landing, but you lower the leaf down. It's a much less violent. From the other aisle, and you just lower the leaf down. And as you get much closer, you realize that you've seen this stone before. The whole island mass looks like it's dried, long, cooled volcanic stone.
[00:35:41] Speaker B: But is there of. I mean, there's not like a mountain or volcano? Like old timey volcano? Looking around.
[00:35:50] Speaker A: Yeah, that makes even less sense as you look around at it.
[00:35:55] Speaker C: Is any of the colors as you all step.
[00:35:58] Speaker A: Off of the leaf, roll it up, put it behind Boz's bag, start to walk around, Greta, you walk away. The whole landscape is like, basically the whole island is difficult terrain because it's all like uneven brakes. And like, like if you took your shoes off, it would hurt to walk everywhere. Everything's just volcano rock. Everything's pitted and porous and fenestrated and sharp and rough. And as you move up and down the surface, protected by the various boots and shoes you were, you walk. Everywhere Boz goes, there's just.
He jingles permanently forever. So you guys, you guys have turned into a very epic, wild, heroic looking party. You're also permanently never again quiet because everywhere you go, there's just from all of Craig's armor. And everywhere boss goes, huh?
[00:36:49] Speaker B: You're what?
[00:36:50] Speaker D: My toes jingle?
[00:36:51] Speaker B: Yeah.
Zach said no.
[00:37:02] Speaker C: No.
[00:37:03] Speaker A: And then everywhere Boz goes, his shoes are jingling so It's Craig's armor and Boz's shoes jingling everywhere. And as you guys peruse the landscape, Greta, you pass over a strip of color, and as you get close to it, you realize that it's lichen. It's huge swathes of lichen, like thousand foot long, 100 foot wide strips of lichen. And they're in these huge patches. And even you realize, like, the white patches are interspersed with grays and blues, but there's just dominant varieties and there's just massive colonies of lichens stripped across the aisle.
[00:37:38] Speaker C: I pick some. Every time I come across a new one, I pick one up and I realize that I'm very quickly going to run out of little jars and petri dishes. So I take a dry cloth and I like, we'll place one in it and then fold it over several times and then take another little swatch. So I've got like this excellent, like, little power of like it.
[00:38:00] Speaker A: Yeah. Okay. As you're making your collection, there is an immense supply here. I guess Landon's just gone now.
Okay.
[00:38:09] Speaker B: He's still here.
[00:38:10] Speaker A: It was good walking around. Goodbye, Landon.
So what's the party doing?
[00:38:20] Speaker B: You said there's like a secret entrance, but we're here.
She kind of taps down on the. On the rock beneath her feet.
[00:38:31] Speaker D: DM how detect. Magic's done.
[00:38:35] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:38:38] Speaker B: Dang.
[00:38:40] Speaker A: I mean, y'all could just start casting spells and see what happens. But also, if anyone wants to re prepare spells, you've had plenty of long rests.
[00:38:49] Speaker D: I may do that.
[00:38:50] Speaker A: Anyone wants to alter and Gibraltar their spell lists.
[00:38:52] Speaker D: Well, I have time to do that before next session, Zachary. Or should I do that before something crazy happens this session?
[00:39:00] Speaker A: Follow your intuitions.
[00:39:02] Speaker D: All right.
[00:39:03] Speaker B: Don't like that.
[00:39:07] Speaker A: So what that party?
What that party do?
[00:39:11] Speaker C: I'm kind of. I'm probably wandering, collecting the lichens. I'm staying like, close to the group, but sure. If they're not moving or if they're just standing and talking, I'm probably, like staying within earshot and eye distance. But I'm wandering a little, searching around.
[00:39:26] Speaker A: Are you looking for anything in specific or just looking around?
[00:39:30] Speaker C: I know that we have already passed the island where Boz found his trinket, but I am keeping an eye out for trinkets just because I'm like, well, there's trinkets on some of the islands, and this island is especially funky, so maybe this island has some trinkets.
[00:39:43] Speaker A: Give me a trinket.
[00:39:44] Speaker B: Check trinket, Check trinket. Check. Trinket.
[00:39:48] Speaker A: Check.
Investigation trinket.
[00:39:53] Speaker C: Check.
Oh, boy.
That is gonna be a seven with a modifier of six from the roll of a natural one.
[00:40:11] Speaker A: So that's just a one.
I think we all know that, Greta. You look around and you don't find much, but you do. All the ground you do find tripping over a stone.
There's just something hurtful about being an 11th level cleric who's defeated Dolgoth and survived all that you have and heard the gods, but still trips over a rock, you take two points of slashing damage as you fall and cut your face on a rock. Hey, Zach.
Yes, sir?
[00:40:39] Speaker D: When you were describing it, I was trying to figure out something.
[00:40:43] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:40:44] Speaker D: Health related. Do you mind give me a brief description real quick about the stone and what we're around?
[00:40:53] Speaker A: The landscape is volcanic. Rising, falling, fracturing.
It's not a normal volcanic like a normal volcanic formation should move in a big cone away from a central point. It's just these long strips and swaths of volcanic stone rising and falling and cracking and breaking with deep fissures down into them and holes and gaps and pits, others leading up to points and rises. And it just careens all over this mess of a landscape striped by lichen and some rare mosses. And it's just pretty barren and dark. Okay.
[00:41:22] Speaker D: So the fact that there's moss and lichen here, here among volcanic rock makes me think that, like, it doesn't really flow much right now because there wouldn't be a whole lot of plant life or growth if there was like regular lava flow.
[00:41:34] Speaker A: Certainly seems not to be superheated right now. Yeah.
[00:41:38] Speaker D: Is there anywhere where the lichen is.
[00:41:40] Speaker B: Not.
[00:41:42] Speaker D: Super grown or concentrated?
[00:41:44] Speaker A: They seem to stay away from like where the rock descends down into itself, where it goes into fissures or pits or hollows. There doesn't seem to be a lot growing there.
[00:41:51] Speaker D: I think I want to go look into some of the fissures and pits.
[00:41:54] Speaker A: Okay. Are you looking for anything in particular or just.
[00:41:58] Speaker D: I'm looking for like an entrance inside. Like, because the tower is not in our visage. Right. Like we cannot see it.
[00:42:02] Speaker A: No, you're not seeing anything currently.
[00:42:04] Speaker C: There's a tower.
[00:42:06] Speaker D: Yes. Like, the reason we're here is to get to the tower of Yelot Tanath. And I don't ever.
I didn't think that there was going to be like a literal tower here. I think tower is going to be like a loose description of what we were going to be looking for.
Honestly, I don't know if any of this is actually Real. This could all just be a weird presentation of the island that we think we see, but we actually don't. So I'm going to go around and poke and prod at some stuff and like kick rocks and touch the lycan and just kind of like make a feel for what I'm doing as I make my way towards the kind of.
[00:42:38] Speaker A: Like, yeah, give me an investigation check.
[00:42:40] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:42:45] Speaker A: And you know what? I'll tell you what, Buzz. As you go down, Craig helps you out just because it's rocks and he loves rocks. So you have the help action.
[00:42:52] Speaker D: All right, I rolled a 16 by myself and I rolled a 9 with Craig's help. So take that with what you will about a 16.
[00:43:00] Speaker A: And Craig is making it worse. He's going around like, okay, pause. Look at this rock. And you're like, okay, Craig. And he's like, look at the way it's.
[00:43:07] Speaker D: And how about. Know how about this? Before you say anything about whether it's pass or fail, I'll say with Craig trying to do that, I like cast guidance on myself to like push away. Cuz I feel like he's like, did you ever think that the lycan is the rock that your heart grows from?
[00:43:22] Speaker A: And that's a better Craig impression.
[00:43:24] Speaker D: And I rolled a 18 with a plus two for if you allow it.
[00:43:30] Speaker A: 18 I do, because that is a perfect use of guidance.
You do find something interesting.
You find it in the fissures. So you explore the rock. It certainly holds and withstands like stone. The lichen appears to be firmly growing. Hard to tell what the moisture source it's receiving is. Maybe rain comes over the barren land sometimes and the moisture collects in some of the porous texture of the stone.
But as you get down lower into some of the fissures, you lower yourself down. And when I say fissures, it's very much like cuts and holes and wounds, jagged wounds into the earth here. As you lower yourself down and start to look, you look down one of the far chambers and very far down where the rock disappears, very far down, you see the faintest traces of light coming back up, kind of like a pale light color.
[00:44:26] Speaker D: There's light coming out of this hole in the ground.
[00:44:30] Speaker B: Well, that can't be natural.
[00:44:32] Speaker D: Yeah, it means we're going.
[00:44:33] Speaker B: Well, it could be actually.
[00:44:37] Speaker D: Spelunking.
[00:44:40] Speaker C: You see any trinkets, boss?
[00:44:43] Speaker D: Did I find any trinkets?
[00:44:45] Speaker A: You find no trinkets unless I do a bunch of rocks count as a trinket.
[00:44:49] Speaker D: I.
I pull out a.
I pull out one of the pet sticks. And I'm like, I've just found this on the ground. Greta.
[00:45:03] Speaker A: Give me an inside check.
[00:45:04] Speaker D: This might be.
[00:45:05] Speaker A: Give me an insight. Give me an inside check.
Give me an inside check at advantage. And, Boz, give me a deception check. I won't tell you not to specify here.
[00:45:17] Speaker D: Making me roll against a dice junkies. Jack. Zach. Oh, my.
[00:45:22] Speaker A: Now you know how I feel. 24. 7.
[00:45:24] Speaker B: It'll be what you roll at.
[00:45:27] Speaker D: 32. 27.
I rolled a 14.
[00:45:33] Speaker C: Wait, I might be wrong. No, 27.
[00:45:36] Speaker A: Greta. That's definitely one of the sticks. That's one of the pet sticks.
[00:45:41] Speaker C: That's incredible. And she picks it up really gingerly, and she starts, like, fake crying. Looking at you with big white puppy dog.
[00:45:49] Speaker D: I bet you there's more of them in this hole. Okay, we should go in there.
[00:45:56] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:45:58] Speaker B: Boz, do you think there's gonna be, like, traps if we just try to get into this hole right now?
[00:46:04] Speaker D: Every single time we go to a new place before we go do the thing, you pull me to the side and you're like, hey, boss, I need you to tell me if I'm in danger right now. And every single time, Ro, I tell you, probably. Yeah. And then we keep going. And right now, I need you to understand I'm not going to be able to save you from all the dangers in the world. Okay.
[00:46:24] Speaker A: I love to do it by much. The fun guys really do feel like. Like a bunch of friends who are all trapped together in a quest for mortality. You know what I mean? Like, I really. I really feel like they are just real group of friends. Friends who really are trapped together for all this time. The chemistry is so good.
[00:46:42] Speaker B: Ro flicks her hair into Boss's face.
[00:46:48] Speaker A: Well, it's a couple feet below Boz, so it just kind of smacks his waist. Your crotch gets hair flicked, but not a lot else.
[00:46:56] Speaker C: It's a X. It's jump flick. That's cool.
[00:47:00] Speaker A: Give me an athletics check. Right to jump up high enough to flip your hair in his face.
[00:47:04] Speaker B: I will feel like we're stalling acrobatics.
[00:47:12] Speaker A: No.
[00:47:13] Speaker B: Why not?
[00:47:14] Speaker A: It's your ability to jump straight up. Definition of an athletic activity.
[00:47:18] Speaker B: That's a 12.
[00:47:22] Speaker A: Boss. Row looks umbridged. And she just jumps a little up, flicks her hair and just smacks her chest a little with her hair.
[00:47:32] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:47:33] Speaker B: By the way, balls, I'm the one that usually heals you. And she begins to walk forward.
Okay.
[00:47:43] Speaker A: Is the group going down into the hole?
[00:47:45] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:47:46] Speaker B: I go in, I inspect it for traps.
[00:47:49] Speaker C: I go in investigation check.
[00:47:51] Speaker B: Yeah. I'm gonna inspect it before.
[00:47:52] Speaker C: I think we.
[00:47:55] Speaker B: Yeah, I don't want to fall into the pit without checking it first. That's dirty. 20.
[00:48:06] Speaker A: It seems very precarious. The stone is uneven and starts to reach an intense angle pretty quickly. But it doesn't look. You see? No signs of manufactured or human trapping.
[00:48:18] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:48:19] Speaker D: Can I turn into a giant lizard that they could ride on to climb into the hole?
[00:48:23] Speaker A: Is that an animal you have access to?
[00:48:24] Speaker B: Wait. When boss cast.
You forgot to turn in your homework. When boss casted guidance, shouldn't he have rolled?
[00:48:35] Speaker A: That's true. Hitting with the D133.33 or 28.
[00:48:46] Speaker D: Those don't feel good.
[00:48:48] Speaker B: They don't feel good for some reason. They scary.
[00:48:52] Speaker A: Less good.
[00:48:54] Speaker B: Oh, I'm so sorry. That was.
[00:48:57] Speaker A: That was a jerk willingly to your ally.
[00:49:01] Speaker B: That was a jerk move. I apologize.
[00:49:03] Speaker A: These are going to affect you in non damaging ways.
[00:49:07] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:49:08] Speaker A: 28 is going to affect your ability to perceive.
33 is going to affect your ability to affect your surroundings.
[00:49:19] Speaker D: Oh, man. Which one would be worse?
Because I want that one.
[00:49:26] Speaker A: You want the worst one?
[00:49:27] Speaker D: The worst one?
[00:49:28] Speaker A: Yeah. 33.
Did you roll the D4 for me?
[00:49:32] Speaker B: Why do you want the worst one?
[00:49:34] Speaker D: You brought this on, so let's take it.
[00:49:36] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:49:37] Speaker D: A D4. You said a D4.
[00:49:40] Speaker A: I said the one for the next six hours. The silence spell is cast over Boz. He is completely silenced for the next six hours.
[00:49:51] Speaker C: Not good.
[00:49:53] Speaker D: So I cannot cast spells.
[00:49:55] Speaker A: Not with verbal components.
[00:49:57] Speaker D: That's all I got.
Mm.
So.
[00:50:02] Speaker A: So Boz guides himself while looking for the stones, points them out, and then he gestures to speak, goes to make sound. Nothing comes out. Boz, you can tell this has happened over you.
[00:50:13] Speaker D: All right? I.
[00:50:16] Speaker A: The face Jackie's making.
[00:50:17] Speaker D: I just. I just like.
[00:50:21] Speaker B: I'm so sorry.
[00:50:26] Speaker A: Listener. Landon's doing all sorts of talking without sound.
He's muted himself.
[00:50:33] Speaker B: Landon, I'm sorry. Please don't hate me.
He's like, sorry.
[00:50:39] Speaker A: Listen, there's gonna be. There's gonna be a lot of us laughing at. Not here. What's the party done?
[00:50:45] Speaker B: I try to. I. I say, okay, come on, guys. I think something happened to balls, so let's all try to push this, which.
[00:50:54] Speaker A: No one could be blamed for happened to our friend. All right, as you guys start to climb downward, could I get athletics checks from each of you? Yes.
[00:51:05] Speaker C: I'm thinking.
[00:51:07] Speaker A: Yeah, do that. Think, girl.
[00:51:09] Speaker C: I would like to tie a rope securely to a rock at the beginning of the vision.
And I would like to Then tie it around my waist.
[00:51:23] Speaker A: Yes. Craig helps you. It is well secured, Boz. Not like in like a. Like, I gotta do this for you lady way, but just she's very strong and accustomed to ropes.
That's an excellent point, Boz. With a climb speed, you do not have to do this. You can just perfectly scale all of this stone effectively with all the little tendrils of plants and roots growing out of you. And holding on, Greta, with the rope attached to you know that that protects you in certain ways. Now, you're not going to be able to go back and get it beyond a certain point. You know, you'd have to climb down with it, like, to retrieve the rope. You'd have to go back up and get it. You know, if you leave it to the point, it's just got to be there. But make your athletics check with an advantage and then. Ro, what'd you get?
[00:52:06] Speaker B: I don't want to talk about it. This is my karma.
That's gonna be a four.
[00:52:18] Speaker A: Craig is following Tello, focused on helping him. What'd you get, Greta?
[00:52:24] Speaker C: Athletics 14.
[00:52:28] Speaker A: Okay.
Everyone makes it down very well, especially Boz is just perfectly climbing down in silence, making no noise as he goes down. And everyone's doing pretty well until Roe slips on one of the rocks, and she was the one leading. So as she steps on one of the rocks, her foot is sure, she's gotten stronger, and you guys have done a lot of rock scaling, but she puts her foot down. She doesn't sense it correctly. She shifts too much of her weight to one side, and the rock just.
[00:52:56] Speaker C: Just.
[00:52:56] Speaker A: And just snaps, and Ro goes and starts just falling into the hole.
Landon, you're.
You can still speak.
[00:53:07] Speaker D: As only can Boss not speak. He also cannot hear anything because silence means no sound pass in or out.
[00:53:16] Speaker B: Oh, my gosh.
[00:53:17] Speaker A: True. This is bad.
[00:53:19] Speaker D: He cannot perceive anything other than just. Unless he sees it or feels it physically. But in terms of like, there's something.
[00:53:28] Speaker A: There's something incredibly beautiful about Landon rolling only good roles in the Lost Land, and then Jackie being like, you forgot something, and then him getting his first bad roll. That's incredible.
[00:53:39] Speaker D: So Boss has no idea that Jackson's falling down the hole. He's just.
[00:53:45] Speaker A: Greta, do you do anything with a reaction?
[00:53:48] Speaker C: Yes. I'm thinking, how far can I see down?
[00:53:54] Speaker A: She's about 15ft down from you. You can see 30ft down into the hole until it seems to change at a sharp angle and to describe the hole. This is just a shaft of stone traveling downward with increasingly smooth edges. This looks kind of like a lava tube, kind of.
[00:54:09] Speaker C: Got it. Okay.
[00:54:10] Speaker A: Now the light coming up doesn't look very reddish. It looks kind of pale, but it looks like long, cooled, super heat carved stone. And Ro is just. She snapped off a rock, lost her grip, is just falling backward.
[00:54:22] Speaker C: Got it, Got it. Gotta.
[00:54:23] Speaker B: Gotta. I'm not, like, rolling down like a hilltop.
[00:54:25] Speaker A: You are currently just falling backward. You will soon meet stone.
[00:54:32] Speaker C: I can see stone that she is soon going to meet. Correct.
[00:54:36] Speaker A: A stone that she's gonna soon meet that then takes a sharp angle in a different direction around a ledge you can't see, but appears to continue to point downward at a pretty steep angle.
[00:54:44] Speaker B: Can I make a reaction, or is that not allowed?
[00:54:46] Speaker A: Both of you can use your reactions. I'm asking Abby first, because you've just fallen, but afterwards, we'll hear from you.
[00:54:53] Speaker C: I hope that this works.
I would. This thing that I can see down is 30ft down. Correct. The stone that I can see. Okay.
I'm gonna cast.
Create food and water on that stone.
[00:55:12] Speaker A: Surprising. Excellent.
[00:55:14] Speaker C: And I'm gonna cast it there, and I'm gonna cast the whole. It says I can cast 30 gallons of water. I'm just gonna cast all of that, like, right where I see that she's gone.
[00:55:26] Speaker A: I just want to run this by you really quickly because I don't want you to do this for no reason. There's some common sense things that would help this. I don't mean this sarcastic. I'm gonna say something that sounds really sarcastic. I don't mean it that way. This isn't Minecraft. A square of water will not sit there. You are looking at a pretty precipitous slope that then continues in another sharp direction downward.
[00:55:44] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:55:45] Speaker A: You cast that water, it's just gonna immediately dissipate over that stone and begin flowing down the rock. It's not gonna sit there in a. In a vat she falls into. It doesn't have a container.
[00:55:55] Speaker C: Yeah. Okay.
[00:55:57] Speaker A: I mean, if you're trying to create food and water like that, you could create it into a large basin if one already existed.
But, like, it's just free water unless you wanted to put it in, like, 100 tankards. But again, I don't think that would help her, and that's really stretching the limits of the spell.
[00:56:13] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:56:14] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:56:14] Speaker C: Okay. I'm thinking.
[00:56:15] Speaker A: Are you doing anything?
[00:56:20] Speaker D: Can I. Can we do a check to see app notices because.
[00:56:24] Speaker A: Yeah, I was going to give you an odds or evens.
[00:56:26] Speaker D: I'm going to say evens because he's out of it.
[00:56:30] Speaker A: 4.
Boz, you see her falling. She's about 20ft down from you.
[00:56:38] Speaker D: What I want to do is I want to leap from where I am and just like throw out vines from this hand and this hand and like grapple on and like, try to like, catch her as she's going down.
[00:56:55] Speaker A: You're gonna Spider man this.
[00:56:57] Speaker D: I'm gonna not Spider Man. Try to get as close as I can from, like, anchoring myself and try to, like, get her with my, with my buddy.
[00:57:04] Speaker A: I, I hate to be the one to tell you this. You're Spider Manning this. So as Ro is falling, Boz throws himself, like, just throws himself off of the stone he's flying on, reaches an arm out in one direction, an arm out in the other. And I'm not saying he hits the Spider man hands, but he reaches his hands outward and tendrils of roots just launch out of his right hand and launch out of his left. And as he's falling away from the stone face, tendrils are reaching out of his right hand and they look like a tiny hand of roots reaching out in a coil to grab the wall. And then his other hand is reaching down toward you, Ro. Boz, give me, give me a dex saving throw for your hand going to meet the wall to catch yourself. And then give me an ability check, a wisdom ability check to catch Roe with your other hand.
[00:57:54] Speaker D: Okay, you've got the range saving throw.
[00:57:57] Speaker A: Yeah. To catch yourself. This is what a baller move. That's awesome.
[00:58:01] Speaker D: I don't know if you're gonna call it a baller move when this happens. That is a nine on the deck saving throw and on the roll to catch her as a wisdom based check. Yeah, it's a nat 20. So I catch her with the wisdom. That's plus six. Six. So that's 26.
[00:58:25] Speaker A: So in an awesome move, Boz throws himself away, casts the roots out this way. They fall short of the rock and just grab limply and fall. So then he just turns, reaches out his arm and it reaches out to you. And Ro, as you're falling backward, you watch Boz launch himself towards you, reach out a hand, the roots fly outward and fall, wrap you up and pull him toward you. The two of you are now being pulled toward each other in the air. And now you guys hit each other and you're falling down together toward the stone. It's all happening. It splits up.
[00:58:56] Speaker D: I want to do. Okay, what happens before I can do my next thing. Zachary.
[00:59:02] Speaker A: Now you guys go crashing down toward the hard stone. Below you together.
[00:59:06] Speaker B: Can I?
Oh, go ahead.
[00:59:10] Speaker A: So you guys are both gonna fall and hit the stone below.
[00:59:16] Speaker D: I try to wear like, I take the hurt.
[00:59:20] Speaker A: Give me, give me. Give me an athletics check, can I.
[00:59:24] Speaker B: There's no way.
Because it's a reaction. I can't cast Polymorph, can I? Because it's an action, not a reaction.
[00:59:31] Speaker A: Yeah, we take an action. That would take an action.
[00:59:34] Speaker D: What am I doing? Zachary? Athletics.
[00:59:36] Speaker A: Give me an athletics check. To try and barrel rotate your hips and your shoulders to get her on the other side.
[00:59:43] Speaker D: Athletics. You said acrobatics. Athletics.
[00:59:46] Speaker A: I'll take either. I'll take either.
[00:59:48] Speaker D: Okay, that's a 15.
[00:59:51] Speaker A: Excellent.
You successfully roll row away from the impact. So you're both gonna take 6, 11, 15 points of bludgeoning damage. As you guys. You guys. You all look and watch as. As Ro falls, Boz throws himself at her, grabs her with the vines, and then they just both impact the stone below Boz, you're taking an additional eight points of slashing damage from the sharp volcanic rock that cuts you and wounds you.
14 plus 8 or 15 plus 8.
[01:00:27] Speaker D: 22.
[01:00:28] Speaker A: 23. 23.
And after you all bounce painfully off of the stone, things are kind of rolling and twisting around you, but you guys twist quickly, and you're still barely hanging on to each other, but you begin rolling down the rest of this tunnel, which you can see veers to a different direction, and then it veers quickly to a different direction, begins turning down another way, but turning into an even more stiff, sharp incline. You guys are at like a. Like a 80, almost 90 degree angle right now.
[01:01:00] Speaker B: Or.
[01:01:01] Speaker A: No, excuse me, excuse me. 90 is up and down. You're at. You're at like a. Like a 70, almost 80 degree angle right now.
[01:01:06] Speaker B: Is there any way to, like, grab?
[01:01:08] Speaker A: Well, sorry, one second.
[01:01:09] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:01:09] Speaker A: The tunnel was originally maybe 10, 15ft in diameter. It's constricting, and now it's getting to about 8ft in diameter. You guys are rolling, and you're about to roll hard and into the opposite roll.
[01:01:21] Speaker D: I went a wild shame into a flumph.
[01:01:24] Speaker A: Phenomenal.
So as you guys turn and row, row. You're caught by Boz. You take the impact. You're rolling. Everything's a blur. You see the tunnel next to you, and then. And then Boz just.
And left behind is a tiny little flumph just going, loading.
That absolutely happens. A dash of leaves and a flumph is left there floating. Ro, what are you doing?
[01:01:46] Speaker D: Wait, no. I was supposed to hold her. I was supposed to turn to something.
[01:01:49] Speaker A: Okay. Flumps are not very big, but they do have a levitation speed. They're medium and they. They can levitate.
[01:01:58] Speaker D: I don't know.
[01:01:58] Speaker A: This could work, actually. Yeah. Ro, boss, give me an athletics check with a flumph to try and grab her and hold her. Ro, give me, give me, give me a strength saving throw to try and grab on and hold yourself up on the fluff. Okay, what you guys are gonna do is, is if you guys, if your scores added together, pass a DC, you will succeed because you're working 15. That's a great roll.
[01:02:31] Speaker B: Yeah. Especially since I had to negative to it.
[01:02:35] Speaker D: Okay, so I roll you. What do I roll, Zachary?
[01:02:40] Speaker A: Athletics check with the flump.
[01:02:42] Speaker D: All right, that is a 15.
[01:02:45] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:02:45] Speaker D: Minus two.
[01:02:46] Speaker A: Massively surpassed the DC.
[01:02:48] Speaker B: You have minus two too?
[01:02:49] Speaker D: Yeah, flumps have minus two strength.
[01:02:51] Speaker B: Oh. Oh, I have. Oh, my friend.
[01:02:55] Speaker A: As the. As Ro goes tumbling down the chamber, the flump turns and like grabs her with the little fluffy or the soft squishy blue tentacles and. And Ro, you grab onto the flumph and the two of you guys both bob violently in the air. And then you're just barely straining, holding on. And Ro, you reach out and grab the wall and hold on the flumph. You're floating there. The tunnel's angled like this at this height, that's how steep it is. And you guys, Ro is just barely clinging on.
And I imagine other voices are calling after you guys in the tunnel.
[01:03:23] Speaker D: I reach out telepathically and I'm like, we're okay.
[01:03:28] Speaker A: Oh, that's cute.
[01:03:30] Speaker B: I'm so smart.
[01:03:33] Speaker A: Everybody can hear his voice.
And Tello goes, are you guys good? Okay.
[01:03:42] Speaker D: Yeah, this is my voice.
[01:03:45] Speaker A: Okay, everybody scales down.
Everybody scales down to the part of the wall where.
Where basically you get to the part of the McDonald's slide where it curves at an angle. And before it gets steep, you guys are all sitting there. And so everybody climbs down. Craig's like, holding on strongly and helping support some people, but everybody's climbed down to the point where you can see that the angle gets even more drastic and takes that turn there slightly further down. And you guys see that the hole just continues further down and the light's getting brighter. And it's very clearly like a kind of like white bright light.
[01:04:18] Speaker D: They say we shouldn't go towards that.
[01:04:23] Speaker B: Balls. I'm so sorry. She says telepathically to the flump.
[01:04:27] Speaker A: Well, you guys can just talk out loud and then the tell the response.
[01:04:32] Speaker B: I say out loud?
[01:04:34] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:04:35] Speaker D: No, it's okay. It's slick stone. You know, it's.
It's fine.
[01:04:48] Speaker A: I love when Boz gets just a little Jeff Goldblumi.
[01:04:58] Speaker D: I think we should take a short rest.
[01:05:01] Speaker A: This would be. You guys are very much. You're. You're paused in the middle of rock climbing.
[01:05:06] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:05:06] Speaker D: Okay. Okay.
[01:05:08] Speaker A: You are very not resting.
[01:05:11] Speaker D: I'm not resting as a flumph.
[01:05:14] Speaker A: You are. Okay. The flump is. Is resting. But if you take a short rest, like if you hang out for an hour as a flumph, you're taking the short rest in the wild shape form.
[01:05:23] Speaker D: True. True.
[01:05:27] Speaker B: I'm. I'm okay. I'm okay to go if.
[01:05:30] Speaker D: All right.
[01:05:32] Speaker A: You all can see the angle continues down for another 40ft before taking another turn. It's getting brighter and wider, and it's getting steeper. This is going to get vertical pretty soon.
[01:05:41] Speaker B: I'm gonna take the risk and polymorph into a bat. My bat roll for me.
Yeah.
[01:05:54] Speaker A: Also to do that, you need to hold your loot in play. And you're currently using your hands to hold onto the wall. I'm not saying it can't be done, but how do you accomplish this?
[01:06:08] Speaker B: Well, we've said.
We've said before that I can. I can play with one hand sometimes, right?
[01:06:17] Speaker A: Oh, girl, I love it.
Give me a performance check.
[01:06:22] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:06:24] Speaker A: To sit there and pluck with just one. The one hand, because you are that good. People can do it.
[01:06:29] Speaker B: That's gonna be a 26.
[01:06:33] Speaker A: Amazing. Ro. Definitely. Like your muscles aching in your shot. I mean, you feel exhausted. You're covered in your own blood now in some of Boz's.
And as you sit there grasping onto the wall, you pluck. It's very much that desperate. I better get this. I better get this. I better get this. And as you pluck with the strings, there's a puff of purple smoke purpling gold. Now roll the D100 for me. What'd you get?
[01:06:58] Speaker B: Also, I just wanted. I'm attuned to both loots now because I.
[01:07:04] Speaker A: Which is so metal. That's so awesome.
What'd you get?
[01:07:08] Speaker B: So I can just choose whenever? Okay. I always ask this. Double zeros is what?
[01:07:14] Speaker A: Zero?
[01:07:15] Speaker B: Zero. Okay.
[01:07:16] Speaker A: So incredible.
[01:07:19] Speaker B: No, no, no, no. I got. I got a double zero on. On the.
[01:07:24] Speaker A: On the D100. Die. On the D10. Die. You got an eight, so that's an eight.
[01:07:30] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:07:32] Speaker A: This could not.
Could not be better.
Some I.
The dice tell a better story Row. You cast Poly to turn into a bat.
[01:07:50] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:07:51] Speaker A: There is a puff of purple smoke and golden sparks, Then a puff of rainbow sparks as the wild magic reacts to the deep magic.
And you polymorph again.
You still mark off the spell slot. Okay, but Ro turns into a starfish. No, roll it.
Well, you're potentially a starfish for seven hours. I just rolled. But let's get back to that. So everybody rose. Like, take the chance. You hold on the wall, and then a starfish just falls out. And the starfish is now free, falling down the chamber. And the problem is, when I let the stone, because of its. Because of its ergonomic shape, it just starts just rolling down the way. So Roe starts roll just three falling down the chamber.
[01:08:43] Speaker D: I. I turned my eyes towards. And they, like, blink one at a time, slowly, like, your turn. I've done this already.
[01:08:55] Speaker A: She's. She is flying away from you.
[01:08:58] Speaker B: Is it. It's not a. I'm looking for the stats, so I have them. Zach, let's not a giant help you.
[01:09:04] Speaker A: No, no, no. You're a starfish. This isn't a stat block. This isn't a stat block in D and D. Let me help you. Okay, you have two hit points.
You have an AC of five.
[01:09:15] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:09:17] Speaker A: You have a movement of one.
[01:09:19] Speaker B: Cool. Except I'm rolling.
[01:09:22] Speaker A: And all your stats, except for con, are two.
[01:09:25] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:09:26] Speaker A: Your con stat is a six.
[01:09:30] Speaker B: Okay. Wow. Cool.
[01:09:33] Speaker A: And you're just. You're also. Here's the wild thing, bro. You're polymorphed, not wild. So you have the brain of a starfish, which is. And this is important, almost none. So, Ro, a bad thing's happening to you, but that's really not your problem right now. You don't have eyes. You don't have ears.
You're just.
You're just existing.
[01:09:56] Speaker B: I deserve this.
[01:09:57] Speaker A: Really. No. She's tumbling toward roarfish. Doesn't even really know. She's tumbling down a pit to an unknown location. What's everybody else doing?
[01:10:08] Speaker B: But I can't get hurt, right? Because with Polymorph, once I hit one hit point, I turn back, right?
[01:10:13] Speaker A: Yeah. If you lose two hit points, you're back to row.
[01:10:16] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:10:16] Speaker A: Tumbling at an incredibly high speed down a drastically steep tunnel to an unknown location.
[01:10:21] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:10:21] Speaker A: What's the whole party doing? And I can't emphasize this enough. Make a decision, or things will happen.
[01:10:27] Speaker B: Thank you.
[01:10:28] Speaker A: What's the party doing? I.
[01:10:30] Speaker D: What's a flump? Exactly.
Not fast.
[01:10:37] Speaker A: Not fast. Do you think Ice knife could help Jackie?
[01:10:42] Speaker D: Or maybe absorb elements?
[01:10:44] Speaker A: You have a speed. You have a speed. Well, you have a fly speed of 30ft, you have a levitate speed of 5. But a fly speedball speed.
[01:10:53] Speaker B: Deter.
[01:10:54] Speaker A: The speed of the speed of free fall with gravity is faster than the fly speed.
Yeah.
[01:11:03] Speaker B: Zach, that gif is for you in the chat.
[01:11:05] Speaker A: Yeah, I like it. I like it.
[01:11:06] Speaker B: It was good.
[01:11:07] Speaker D: You have to spell magic, Abby.
[01:11:12] Speaker C: No.
[01:11:13] Speaker D: Okay, I can't.
I can't. I can't do anything at all.
[01:11:18] Speaker A: You could. You could immediately expend another fly wild shape to turn into something else if you want to.
[01:11:23] Speaker B: You.
[01:11:25] Speaker D: Here's what I do. I summon my familiar and I send him down there and say, get that starfish telepathically.
[01:11:31] Speaker A: Can you do that while wild shaped?
[01:11:35] Speaker D: I.
[01:11:36] Speaker A: That's technically a spell.
[01:11:38] Speaker D: Oh.
[01:11:38] Speaker A: I mean, it's a spell from.
Yeah.
[01:11:44] Speaker D: Is going to have to be unwild shape, which is going to be too late. So I'm basing out of the picture. On what? On helping out with row.
[01:11:52] Speaker A: Oz has done everything he could to save your Ro. Greta, what you doing?
[01:11:55] Speaker B: Are they holding on?
[01:11:57] Speaker A: Well, Boz is floating and I assume boss down toward roe at the best speed you can, but only so fast. Less fall less fast than you're falling. Tello is furiously climbing downwards. So is Craig. But they can only go so fast.
[01:12:09] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:12:11] Speaker A: What's Greta doing?
[01:12:12] Speaker C: I'm dead.
Greta's sitting there racking her brain for things that she could.
[01:12:20] Speaker A: Could you give me an intelligence saving throw for Tello, Greta?
[01:12:24] Speaker C: Why?
[01:12:24] Speaker B: Intelligence saving throw.
[01:12:26] Speaker C: Yeah, not so good for him.
Intelligence saving. Oh, he's got a high intelligence. Smart boy. That'll be a seven.
[01:12:36] Speaker A: Okay. He does not think of a brilliant idea.
[01:12:42] Speaker C: So there is a brilliant idea.
[01:12:45] Speaker A: Well, doesn't matter. What are you doing, Greta? Anything.
[01:12:49] Speaker C: I can't think of anything.
[01:12:51] Speaker A: Okay, Ro, wait.
[01:12:52] Speaker C: Let me think one more time. One more thing.
[01:12:54] Speaker A: You're rolling down.
[01:12:55] Speaker B: It's okay. It's okay.
[01:12:57] Speaker A: Use your last think.
[01:13:00] Speaker D: Excellent.
[01:13:01] Speaker A: So Ro just disappears down the chamber. Just down the chamber. And there's another banked corner. And Ro hits the opposite wall. I'm going to run.
[01:13:14] Speaker B: D6 are not like, kind of sticky.
[01:13:18] Speaker A: I rolled one hip. Yeah, but they're sticky at kind of like a. On a surface moving at a centimeter per minute kind of pace. Not a I can't do it kind of pace.
[01:13:28] Speaker B: Yes.
[01:13:29] Speaker A: No, you've got to like. I'm capable of locomotion and I can adhere. Now, you could adhere flat to a stone wall, but not with a lot of force applied to you, especially not while you're flying at great speeds. So I rolled the hit Dice, can starfish breathe air?
Some can for a limited time. She will suffocate soon. I rolled the damage dice for the force of you hitting the opposite wall, and I rolled a one. So you're now down to one hit point as a starfish, which is honestly kind of a lot worse for you. And you go barreling down another direction of this chamber, unaware of any other particular details. The rest of the party is continuing behind Boz. Tello shouts out to you, B, this angle is getting really steep. I don't know if we're going to be able to keep climbing. We need different solutions to keep going down.
[01:14:16] Speaker D: I. I don't hear him.
[01:14:19] Speaker C: Okay, can I see right?
[01:14:22] Speaker D: I can communicate to them, but I can't hear them. I have no idea what he's saying.
[01:14:26] Speaker B: What a.
[01:14:27] Speaker A: What wild scenario.
[01:14:28] Speaker D: Floating down.
[01:14:29] Speaker B: Awful.
[01:14:30] Speaker D: And I tell them, I say, hey, guys, I can't hear you. I can talk in your heads.
[01:14:36] Speaker A: There's no shame here. There's no shame here. As I say in my classroom, we build each other up. But this is literally all your fault.
[01:14:43] Speaker D: All has to do is to be fair.
[01:14:47] Speaker C: Landon does that all the time.
Landon gets reward. Like, you know what I'm saying? I'm just saying, Landon is always like.
[01:14:55] Speaker B: Hey, we miss this?
[01:14:56] Speaker D: Yes. I do this all the time, where I'm like, excuse me, actually, this should be harder than it is. And you're like, you know what, Landon?
[01:15:03] Speaker A: Abby, that's a really good point. That's a really good point. Well, yeah, except that. Except that the motivator for Jackie here was kind of spiced by, you know.
[01:15:10] Speaker D: Anyhow, it's okay. She was mad, and feelings are valid.
[01:15:16] Speaker C: Can I still see? Jackie has gone out of view now, right?
[01:15:20] Speaker A: Starfish is gone. Starfish is gone.
[01:15:21] Speaker C: I'm gonna think in my head. Greta's gonna think in her head. If I. Cat, If I needed 30 gallons of.
[01:15:28] Speaker A: Water, it would not have solved your problem, but it would have made it funnier.
[01:15:37] Speaker C: Would that catch up to Starfish?
[01:15:39] Speaker A: Jackie, it technically has the same rate of gravitational acceleration, but it would endure the friction effect as it hit the stone wall, and it would come behind her. So it's not an effective solution.
Okay, I think that's nice. Nice. What do you. Okay, so Tello turns to Greta and goes.
[01:15:58] Speaker B: What did you say?
[01:16:00] Speaker A: Tello turns to Greta and goes. Hey, seriously, we're not going to be able to follow them soon. How are we going to call? Climb down the rest of this.
Guys, this is going to get really nuts here in a second.
[01:16:13] Speaker B: I Can't do anything.
[01:16:16] Speaker A: This is gonna get crazy in a moment.
[01:16:19] Speaker D: No, no, I didn't.
[01:16:20] Speaker A: I feel like a thing to you.
Greta Tello said to you, seriously, we're not going to be able to climb much lower. How are we going to keep following them?
[01:16:31] Speaker C: I don't know.
[01:16:34] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:16:34] Speaker C: I literally smash cut.
[01:16:37] Speaker A: This is an incredible series of. You have no idea the situation. You guys have set yourselves up.
[01:16:43] Speaker D: Zachary.
[01:16:45] Speaker A: No, it's still gonna fit.
[01:16:46] Speaker C: I could make 30 gallons of water appear.
[01:16:49] Speaker A: Delo turns to you and goes, I don't think it's a solution.
[01:16:55] Speaker C: Write it down like a surface.
[01:16:57] Speaker A: Thousand gallons of water might function like a water slide, but not 30.
[01:17:02] Speaker C: I think.
[01:17:02] Speaker B: Hello. Has grease.
[01:17:05] Speaker A: Tello stops. Wait, they have grease? That's not helpful here. And then we smash cut to row, row. Roll another dice. That's your last. Excellent. You take three points of bludgeoning, of overflow myself. Yes. And I'm gonna throw you into the most. Yes. Yeah. Because you're on wild shape, and you take the overflow damage. I'm gonna throw you into the most wild. Are you ready for this?
So you're back to roe, and things are just spinning colors. The color is white, and it is smooth, and you are just. You are just rolling down a stone tube, spinning and rolling, and everything's white and spinning, and you are going at a very, very fast speed. You're going down a stone tube slide at a. At an almost vertical angle, and it's smooth, and you're just flying down it.
What you doing, bud?
[01:18:07] Speaker B: Am I allowed to, like, can I cast or no?
Like, well, I'm like. Well, like, because we talked about reactions and action.
[01:18:20] Speaker A: Huh? You can certainly try also.
I'm just gonna let you know, you should try and do something.
[01:18:31] Speaker B: Yeah.
Yeah.
[01:18:34] Speaker A: This is gonna get a lot less funny here in a second.
[01:18:36] Speaker B: Okay.
I.
The whole thing. So as I'm. Well, I can't see. See anything. I just know I'm, like, sliding, right?
[01:18:48] Speaker A: Yeah. Let me look up real fast.
[01:18:58] Speaker B: Zach.
Well, you can't tell me that.
I, like, is this, like, when I. As I'm falling and I, like, kind of grab my hands in. Nothing is soft. Like, it's all stone. Right.
[01:19:15] Speaker A: Well, okay, so things have changed. As you sprawl your limbs outward and feel the rapidly moving stone around you, it is all rock around you or some sort of a mineral, but it doesn't feel the same anymore. It's not sharp. It's not harsh. It's all bright white, and it feels smooth.
[01:19:36] Speaker B: Like chalk.
Ish. And how Smooth. Okay.
[01:19:42] Speaker A: And white.
[01:19:43] Speaker B: How big is that? How big is the tunnel? I'm calling water.
[01:19:47] Speaker D: Or do I need to.
[01:19:47] Speaker A: Yeah, do it, Landon. No, I mean, it's up to you.
[01:19:51] Speaker B: I'll stall, land, and you go get you water.
[01:19:54] Speaker A: Feels. It feels like. I mean, it feels like it's gotten much smaller, but you're rocketing down it and still twisting. You're having a hard time telling how. How wide. Wide it is, but it certainly feels like it's gotten a lot tighter.
[01:20:04] Speaker B: Let me just look at something real quick. I'm looking at how it works.
[01:20:09] Speaker A: Either wall as you bounce, as you, like, spin around the tunnel, you're rocketing down. Greta, anything new? It's okay if you don't. Also, this is. I'm just gonna run something by you. I'm not telling you how to play your character. Abby, you did inherit a particular feature at 10th level. I'm not telling you when and how to use it. But you did get one. That's just something worth reminder. It is literally the strongest feature in all of 5e. That's all I'm saying. Follow your dreams. I know that it's a new feature.
[01:20:37] Speaker B: Okay. Could I.
I would like to use. I would like to cast or attempt to cast plant growth.
[01:20:54] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:20:56] Speaker B: And I would like. Cuz it's. I would like to basically attempt to kind of like what I do when I make my bed, but make it like a.
Almost like.
[01:21:09] Speaker A: I'll check in with you. You're f. You're sliding down a hurricane harbor slide.
Whatever you're going to do, I want you to have that context.
[01:21:20] Speaker B: So if it's casting. I'm not saying it can't work if the casting time is one action. That's.
[01:21:26] Speaker A: You got the time pass like six seconds.
[01:21:32] Speaker B: Okay, well. And the range is 150ft on it. So I'm going to cast downward in front of me. Like 60ft in front of me.
[01:21:42] Speaker A: Okay. And turn it into.
[01:21:44] Speaker B: I want to turn it into, like, a bed of, like, ivy that vines that, like, stick into the. Try to attempt to stick into the wall.
[01:21:55] Speaker A: Give me a dexterity saving throw to try and write yourself enough to pull one of your loots out incorrectly. Play. This is going to be a high DC. I'm going to say this is DC20. This is a DC20.
[01:22:07] Speaker B: Okay.
Oh, my gosh. Wait. Deck. Saving throw. Dex Saving throw.
[01:22:14] Speaker A: Dex. Saving throw.
[01:22:15] Speaker B: That's gonna be a 22.
[01:22:18] Speaker A: Incredible. Now roll me a D100.
[01:22:22] Speaker B: Yep.
[01:22:23] Speaker D: Zach, Cliff notes.
[01:22:26] Speaker A: She's still falling. She's trying to cast Spell growth. Plant growth beneath her to try and create a net of vines that will catch her.
[01:22:37] Speaker B: 48.
[01:22:38] Speaker A: Okay. Also not trying to punish you. I'm gonna need an arcana check to get this spell to str. I mean, you are an incredibly powerful.
[01:22:46] Speaker B: No, I know.
[01:22:46] Speaker A: So I like the idea that as casters get stronger, they can do more flexible things with their spells. But we need to check to have it do something it's not necessarily meant to do.
[01:22:54] Speaker D: Oh, playing a loot while spinning is probably hard.
[01:23:00] Speaker A: Guys. Pray for Jackie.
[01:23:02] Speaker B: Oh, no. That's a 21 arcana check.
[01:23:05] Speaker A: Phenomenal.
Okay, so you're. You're falling down, and you go. You like. Like everything's spinning. You. You pull out the song splitter, and you just.
And you're, like, whispering and muttering in the deep magic, and everything's flashing gold, and all of a sudden, all the vines whipped together, burst out of the stone from the walls, and you crash into them. You're going to take.
They were all low rolls. 2, 5, 8 points of bludgeoning damage. 9. Excuse me. 9 points of bludgeoning damage. Stopping yourself rapidly on your own vines. And as you do, there's just a flurry of flash and color and impact, and you feel yourself running into the vines where you. You land.
[01:23:55] Speaker B: Okay, do I stop?
[01:23:57] Speaker A: You have fully stopped. You have come to a very sudden, hard stop.
[01:24:02] Speaker B: Okay.
Is it.
What else happens to me?
[01:24:10] Speaker A: Okay, you blink hard, and you look all around. First of all, you look at. The fractured stone wall around you is broken, where plants have burst out of the wall and interwoven into a foot. That thick mesh of vines. An incredible solution. This chamber is now probably 6ft in diameter, much tighter than before. So you're resting in the middle of it, and you are looking at maybe 100ft up, a pure tunnel of mother of pearl in the wall. Perfectly smooth, glorious. And you can barely see a thing because it's dim light. None's getting in from above. Wait. No, no, no. The light's not getting in from above. It's coming from below. And there's little shafts and fingers of it just bleeding through the net you've made. But as you've caught yourself in this vine net, it's blocking almost all light from below.
Also, you're covered in something purple.
It's your hair.
You're covered in hair and flowers.
[01:25:23] Speaker B: Like, I'm like. Like I'm like, poof. Werewolf, like, hair all over.
[01:25:26] Speaker A: You reach up and you pick hair up off your armor. Your chest piece.
It's loose, though. It's not attached to you. Long lengths locks of hair just resting on top of you.
I think Landon gets something.
[01:25:43] Speaker B: I don't get it. Is my hair gone, bro?
[01:25:47] Speaker A: You reach up and touch your head. And as you do, as you brush your fingers across your head, all the hair your fingers touch just come with it. And you touch your completely smooth scalp.
And as you run your other hand over, you feel that your eyebrows are smooth too.
As you run your hand back, you have no. Absolutely no hair.
[01:26:09] Speaker B: I'm gonna cry.
[01:26:15] Speaker D: All things considered, a good role right now.
[01:26:18] Speaker B: Yeah, I guess so. We'll figure it out.
[01:26:21] Speaker A: This is such an incredible scenario.
Completely by. Hey, when you cast guidance, shouldn't you have. Incredible. This is the ultimate teacher. You forgot the homework moment.
[01:26:33] Speaker B: I can't. I ro. Can't think about this right now. She actually. She takes the hair and she stuffs it in her bag. She's like, I'm gonna figure this out. Even if I make a wig, it's gross.
[01:26:45] Speaker D: I clean my hair back on.
[01:26:49] Speaker B: She'll find a way. But she can't think about this right now. So she stuffs it in her bag. She gets her bearings. Is dm. Explain this to me. Is the. Because I know they're coming. The rest of the party's coming.
[01:27:03] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:27:04] Speaker B: So the.
Is the.
[01:27:08] Speaker A: The.
[01:27:09] Speaker B: The vines that I'm sitting on, does it cover the full width? Like, is it gonna catch them?
[01:27:13] Speaker A: You've blocked it and anything coming by it would catch.
[01:27:18] Speaker B: Can I make a. Can I make a nature or arcana check to know is it gonna hold or I guess sign or whatever. Tell me what of if Is this going to hold everyone as they hit it and there's like five of us.
[01:27:34] Speaker A: Give me an. Give me a general intelligence or an insight, one of the two. No, insight doesn't make any sense here. Give me a general intelligence or a sciences check.
Now smash cut back up to the rest of the party.
Starfish Row has gone flying away. What's everybody else doing?
Cuz that was some time ago.
[01:27:53] Speaker B: That's a 17.
[01:27:55] Speaker A: Okay, we'll come back to you, bro.
[01:27:57] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:27:58] Speaker D: I feel like how big is.
Stops following Row after a while.
[01:28:07] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:28:08] Speaker D: Like after probably like a hundred feet of no change.
[01:28:12] Speaker A: I'm just steep. You get 100ft down and you watch the tunnel flump buzz. You watch it also. Roe is gone, gone, gone, gone, gone. Everything's dark.
Because she does that like vine net in the whole chamber now there's only a very like all of a sudden the light and there's just a very small Amount of white light coming up now. Something is blocked flight aperture. But as you get further down, Boz.
[01:28:34] Speaker D: I have dark vision.
[01:28:36] Speaker A: As you get to. Excellent. As you get down. Bump. You can see in the darkvision, the tunnel veers again in a hard direction and then turns fully white and then starts getting to where it's almost fully vertical.
[01:28:48] Speaker D: Is roe within 60ft of me? Is she farther than that?
[01:28:55] Speaker A: No, she's farther, but further. Further down, you can see a dark occlusion and little pin pricks of white light.
[01:29:03] Speaker D: Okay, well, I start heading back towards the rest of the group.
[01:29:11] Speaker A: Okay, Greta. Boz Flumph comes back up. Everybody's just stalled at that one point in the slide where you can still kind of sit.
[01:29:17] Speaker C: How big is Boz Flumph?
[01:29:20] Speaker A: Like turkey size. A little smaller.
[01:29:23] Speaker D: I. They can't talk to me.
[01:29:28] Speaker C: I'm gonna.
[01:29:29] Speaker D: Can they respond telepathically to me?
[01:29:32] Speaker A: I'm gonna say yes, because I'm not sure. And I have a lot more for this session, so.
[01:29:38] Speaker C: All right, I'm gonna go.
[01:29:42] Speaker D: I have no idea where Roe went. It just keeps going. And the walls change and keeps going down, down, down, down, down.
[01:29:48] Speaker C: Did you see what happened when it got dark?
[01:29:51] Speaker D: No.
[01:29:52] Speaker A: Craig goes. Is Ro okay? Yes, she all right. How's Ro? I don't know.
[01:29:56] Speaker D: She disappeared further down the tunnel.
She's powerful. She. I'm sure she can handle some she. I'm sure she's fine. We just have to get to her.
Oh, we do have a sending stone.
[01:30:09] Speaker A: Craig goes, that's right.
[01:30:13] Speaker C: So I know if that would count as casting.
[01:30:15] Speaker A: As what?
No, no, boss. Or Craig passes you the spittle covered.
[01:30:27] Speaker C: Sending stone, I take it, and I call Ro, and I'm like, it's sticky.
[01:30:33] Speaker A: And effective as you feel the connection. Connectora.
[01:30:36] Speaker C: Hello?
[01:30:38] Speaker B: Hi. Hey, Gretel.
[01:30:39] Speaker C: Oh, what happened?
[01:30:41] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm no longer.
[01:30:45] Speaker C: Water, but I kept hearing voices in my head that were telling me not to do it and that it wouldn't be an effective solution.
[01:30:50] Speaker B: You're hearing voices? Never mind.
[01:30:53] Speaker A: Never mind.
[01:30:54] Speaker C: Never mind. What happened? Are you okay?
[01:30:56] Speaker B: No, I'm. I'm down. Can I see them from up here? Can I see anything?
[01:31:01] Speaker A: Oh, no. Okay. No, no, no.
[01:31:03] Speaker B: I. I'm down. I don't know how far up y'all are. I suppose I fell quite a bit further than y'all.
I got. I. I got. I grew some.
I. I grew some vines, and it's. It's acting as a net.
[01:31:21] Speaker A: You.
[01:31:23] Speaker B: Zach, could. Could you tell me what I learned on that science roll about? If it'll hold people.
[01:31:30] Speaker A: Yes. It certainly seems strong enough to hold a bunch of members. Now, you'd run the risk of everybody crashing into you.
[01:31:37] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:31:38] Speaker A: And it would be a significant amount of force. But if that could be slowed somehow. Yeah, this could catch everybody.
[01:31:45] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:31:45] Speaker A: It's very strong.
[01:31:46] Speaker B: If you guys can get down here, like, slowly, like, not, you know, fumbling down like I did, it can definitely catch you all.
[01:31:56] Speaker C: Okay.
[01:31:57] Speaker B: But, like, don't. Don't just jump. That could be really bad for all of us.
[01:32:02] Speaker C: Got it. I'm just curious.
How would we get back out?
[01:32:08] Speaker B: I think we're gonna have to go. I think we're gonna have to keep going down some.
[01:32:14] Speaker C: Okay. Do you think that's the best. Do you think that's what we should do?
[01:32:18] Speaker B: I mean, I. I don't really know.
[01:32:24] Speaker C: Okay.
[01:32:25] Speaker B: I'm like, we're. I'm like, like, we're. We're pretty far down. I don't see us getting out of here unless.
Unless balls and I can, like.
Or one of us can, like, polymorph into something that can lift us all out of here or bozkin wild shape. But I know he's not being able to, like, speak right now, so that might be difficult.
[01:32:52] Speaker A: Ro. From where you're sitting on the. On the mesh of vines, little bits of light are still poking up. And you've been sitting here long enough. As your senses are reorienting you, you can also tell it feels slightly cooler beneath you. Very slightly.
[01:33:05] Speaker B: Can I look over it or anything like that?
[01:33:08] Speaker A: You don't have any gap if you cut a hole in it. You know what? If you want, you are druidic and bardic enough. If you want, you could do a little casting and separate some of the vines and look through a small piece. And I would let you do that if you make me. Just make me a check with your spellcasting modifier or an arcarna check to control the spell.
[01:33:28] Speaker B: Okay, that's gonna be.
[01:33:32] Speaker A: Yeah. Give me a general charisma check. General charisma check.
[01:33:35] Speaker B: Oh, charisma check. Not arcana.
[01:33:38] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:33:40] Speaker B: So Charisma General is gonna be an 18.
[01:33:46] Speaker A: Phenomenal. Okay, so give me just one second. You guys.
Are people okay with this session going a little over? I just wanna check.
[01:33:59] Speaker D: Yeah.
[01:34:00] Speaker A: Okay. Always want to check. So.
[01:34:03] Speaker C: Might get a little sleepy.
[01:34:05] Speaker A: Okay, no problem.
Let us know if you have to do it.
Always an option, Ro. As you like, strum your loot a little bit. Some of the loot, some of the vise pull back from each other. And as you look through the bright tunnel, continues for another 50ft, and then ends and terminates in bright white light.
[01:34:25] Speaker B: And I can't see what you hear.
[01:34:28] Speaker A: A very slight. With your incredibly high passive perception, you can hear very slight.
Like a breeze moving by.
[01:34:39] Speaker B: Interesting.
[01:34:42] Speaker C: I just. I don't think it's a good idea to go down there.
[01:34:47] Speaker B: Are you still on the. Sending some of me the snake of ease.
[01:34:52] Speaker A: I mean, you can always speak above board as players as well, but Zach.
[01:34:56] Speaker D: Oz has a theory.
[01:34:59] Speaker A: Sure.
[01:34:59] Speaker D: I think Yalek Tanoth's tower is in the Feywild, and that's where we're going.
[01:35:06] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:35:08] Speaker D: Can he. Can you confirm that for him?
[01:35:11] Speaker A: Can you confirm that would be very powerful divination magic. Okay.
[01:35:18] Speaker D: Would a flump know that?
They can't be surprised telepathically.
[01:35:25] Speaker A: What are y'all doing?
You can also speak above board. I mean, you can strategize his players for a second if you want.
[01:35:32] Speaker C: I don't know. I don't think it.
I guess it's seeming to me that we are supposed to go there, but it doesn't.
Like, yeah, I don't know.
We are being pointed in that direction, but to me, it makes absolutely no sense to go in that direction.
[01:36:02] Speaker B: I feel like that's.
I feel like that's like the.
The whole point of the Lost Lands.
Like, that's the feel I've gotten from this place.
[01:36:18] Speaker C: I don't know.
[01:36:18] Speaker B: To me.
[01:36:20] Speaker C: Yeah, I guess we can go.
[01:36:23] Speaker B: I don't know, actually, Greta, hold that thought. I can kind of see 50ft.
You said it's like 50ft away.
[01:36:32] Speaker A: Yeah. And you just see bright light and you can hear a breeze. The light is sort of bluish.
[01:36:37] Speaker B: I can't see a. Like a floor or anything.
[01:36:44] Speaker A: It looks like. Give me. Give me a perception or sciences check. The perception will be a higher D.C. the sciences will be a lower.
[01:36:56] Speaker B: That is a 25 perception check.
[01:37:04] Speaker A: From putting what you can of your senses together here, it looks like you're leading into some sort of a space that is very much not more stone, but it looks like you might have another very significant drop ahead of you, perhaps significantly greater than the one you just underwent. So if you're going to keep going, some means of flight or levitation or limiting that fall would be an excellent solution.
But if you could create some sort of a solution for the rest of the party, you might be able to pass into the next area you need to go to.
This is such a fun little scenario. D and D is awesome for the stuff that I don't expect players to get into.
[01:37:42] Speaker D: How about this?
[01:37:43] Speaker B: How big is this?
[01:37:44] Speaker D: 30 gallons of water.
[01:37:47] Speaker A: This needs to be 123. 30 gallons of water.
Will he post this to the Spotify? Can the subtext on the episode just be 30 gallons of water, comma. 30 gallons of water.
That's so awful.
That's a bathtub of water.
[01:38:16] Speaker B: How. How. I'm. I. I know you've told me this already, but how wide is this space?
[01:38:23] Speaker A: Six feet across.
[01:38:24] Speaker B: Six feet across.
How big is like, I, I'm. As a player, I can't think of flying animals.
[01:38:38] Speaker A: Help me out. Just ask your question. I don't mean that to rush you.
[01:38:41] Speaker B: Just like.
[01:38:43] Speaker A: So just hit me with your thing.
[01:38:44] Speaker B: I'm trying to turn into a flying animal that Ro knows that is big enough.
[01:38:52] Speaker A: If you pick giant, any of the flying animals, you know, like a giant eagle could fit in this space like this.
[01:38:58] Speaker B: Okay. Yeah.
[01:39:00] Speaker A: Like completely folded up across, you know, that's. Yeah, it's wide. So basically, you break this, this net, you could, as a giant eagle, you could fall and then you could basically just like sock through a tube out. And then on the way out, you could open your wings and fly into whatever's coming after that.
[01:39:22] Speaker B: Okay, you still have the set.
[01:39:25] Speaker A: If you communicate this with anybody.
[01:39:27] Speaker B: I. I tell that to the party of my thought of what I could do so that I could check what's there. And then if that is correct, I. But I wouldn't be able to fly back up and get them, would I?
[01:39:43] Speaker C: No.
[01:39:44] Speaker B: From the space.
[01:39:47] Speaker A: That strikes you as being quite difficult.
[01:39:50] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:39:51] Speaker C: Would you turn into. Wait, no. I'm trying to think of an animal that can fly and climb.
[01:39:58] Speaker B: See, that's what I was trying to think.
[01:40:01] Speaker C: There's a bat.
[01:40:03] Speaker A: You have not yet seen a giant bat in the world, so you cannot utilize that right now.
[01:40:07] Speaker B: Just a regular bat, but it wouldn't.
[01:40:09] Speaker D: Be able to carry you guys as he's watching their mouths move, but doesn't know what's going on.
I probably would have a good idea of what to do right now.
[01:40:19] Speaker A: Landon, roll a D20 for me and roll higher than me.
Okay. He's not gonna do that, I guess.
[01:40:28] Speaker B: No, he's muted. You're muted.
[01:40:30] Speaker D: I rolled a 10.
[01:40:32] Speaker A: I rolled a 12. Never mind. Do it again. No, it's okay.
[01:40:36] Speaker D: Hey, hey. The dice tell a better story. This is what's happening.
[01:40:40] Speaker B: Greta, do you communicate this to Boss telepathically?
[01:40:45] Speaker C: Well, Boss has to reach out to me.
[01:40:46] Speaker A: He does not have telepathic communication. Boss, what's going on? You all have made for yourselves quite a blind pickle.
This is. I. I can't stress this enough. You're not gonna. You're not gonna go? Wait, what about the angle of thi. Like, you, like, decisions have to be made for you guys to progress. That's. That's the way forward.
[01:41:06] Speaker D: How are we holding onto the walls where we're at right now? Because we're just, like, suspending.
[01:41:10] Speaker A: Guys are currently at the last part. You can to be, like, gripping and kind of sitting. Anything past here is going to be pretty rapid descent.
[01:41:19] Speaker D: All right.
[01:41:22] Speaker A: Floating there as a one of us.
[01:41:23] Speaker C: Hold on.
[01:41:24] Speaker D: So every once in a while, I'm, like, doing, like, a little.
[01:41:27] Speaker A: Yes, exactly. Jellyfishing it.
[01:41:31] Speaker C: I'm gonna motion flump over.
I'm gonna go like this.
This is exactly what I'm doing.
I'm going like this.
[01:41:42] Speaker A: Greta's doing a weird dance motion with her arms.
[01:41:44] Speaker C: No, I'm trying to communicate. Hey, did I float on you?
[01:41:50] Speaker D: Hop on.
[01:41:51] Speaker A: Let's try it as. As the small creature gets on, you can just barely support her.
[01:41:58] Speaker D: All right, y'all are good here, right? Like, y'all are doing yalls things.
[01:42:06] Speaker A: No, I. I really don't know if I just want to live forever in the tunnel where you guys go on. What's the plan? No one's communicating with me.
[01:42:12] Speaker D: I can't hear you.
[01:42:15] Speaker C: I'm gonna reach out for the wall.
[01:42:17] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:42:18] Speaker C: And I'm gonna dab onto the wall, and then I'm gonna go like this.
[01:42:22] Speaker D: Didn't they have, like, climbing in rogue school? Tello, like, you're supposed to be able to, like, do this.
[01:42:28] Speaker C: I would be like, hey, Lynn. Hey, boss. Maybe you could try carrying Tello. Maybe just try it a little bit, but not all the way.
[01:42:35] Speaker A: And then you look at the size of Tello, and you look at the size of Boz, and you go, man, that wouldn't work.
[01:42:40] Speaker B: I have a question.
Another question?
[01:42:43] Speaker A: Yeah. And I really just launch them.
[01:42:45] Speaker B: How?
[01:42:45] Speaker A: I've.
[01:42:46] Speaker B: How I've used tiny hut before. Would it be possible to cast leman's tiny hut and use it as, like, a little bubble, and we kind of bing bong, bing bong down it, but we're safe in the bubble.
[01:42:59] Speaker A: It's not a sphere. It's a hut. It's a semicircle.
[01:43:02] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:43:03] Speaker A: And it needs to adhere to a surface.
[01:43:05] Speaker D: What are we gonna do?
[01:43:07] Speaker B: What if it adheres to the plant growth that I have created?
[01:43:11] Speaker A: Give me an inside check, bro. Give me an insight check.
You know what?
[01:43:16] Speaker B: What?
[01:43:16] Speaker A: Actually, let me Go back. Okay. What was that last question you asked me?
[01:43:21] Speaker B: I was saying, what if I cast it and adhere it to, like, the bottom part is the plant growth, so it's like a snow globe. Right. Hold on, hold on.
And we're like.
[01:43:32] Speaker A: Before, I just DM my way over a truly insane moment of d D. Allow me to be very clear.
I can't think of a reason that wouldn't work. You create an incredibly high arcana check to create a solid mass of plants. If you connected your tiny hut to it and then cut away at the rest of the mass of plants and everyone fit inside, you would have hot on one side, plant fiber base on the other, and that thing could fall down, and you could be contained within it. Now. Yeah.
[01:43:59] Speaker B: Okay, I'm going to start. I, I, I. I relayed this.
[01:44:04] Speaker A: Yes.
[01:44:05] Speaker B: And I start casting it because it takes a minute to cast, but they can get in it because they're friendly. So they'll just sloop into it.
[01:44:12] Speaker A: And so.
[01:44:13] Speaker B: And so down here, I'm.
[01:44:15] Speaker A: So what happens is.
Tell me if I'm wrong. So Rose sitting there playing, focusing on casting the hut.
Boss floats Greta down. Holy crap, Greta, that's mother of pearl all over the walls. You're landed down. Oh, Greta. You're sitting on a plant mat while role placed. Then what happens next is I'm gonna.
[01:44:36] Speaker C: Motion to pause to flump. I'm gonna go.
And this is. I'm gonna point up, and then I'm gonna, like, do the motion that I did when I floated down, and then.
[01:44:48] Speaker D: I'm gonna shake my eye stalks, and I'm gonna say, too big. Too big.
[01:44:52] Speaker C: Okay, okay, okay, okay.
[01:44:54] Speaker B: I'm not.
[01:44:54] Speaker C: I'm not. And then I. I have. I make a big fist with a. And I go.
I'm trying to convey the idea that maybe holding on to the flump would slow their fall so they could come down and join us, but not rip my arms out.
[01:45:13] Speaker D: They're not attached with metal. They're just flashy.
[01:45:17] Speaker A: Okay, boss, you've been a flump for. For half an hour now.
[01:45:24] Speaker D: I'm gonna fly back up to Tello and Craig, and I'm gonna say, hey, guys, listen, I don't know what you're saying because I can't hear it. So listen carefully. Ro has made, like, a bed of grass in the middle.
[01:45:41] Speaker A: And then you communicate everything they need to know about the current.
[01:45:44] Speaker D: And I would say, y'all just fall, and hopefully it'll catch you guys. And. Right. That's what. That's. That's what they're saying, right, hold on.
[01:45:52] Speaker A: Hold on, hold on. Here you are, and here you're saying it. Hello. Goes, all right, Buzz, I trust you. And he, like, throws himself down on the edge. He stops and looks at you.
[01:46:05] Speaker D: No, yeah, wait. I need. I'm not gonna tell them to kill themselves.
That's what I understood the plan to be. Is that wrong?
[01:46:15] Speaker A: You knew that Greta suggested you let them run into you, and you knew that Roe talked about them falling down to the. The plant mesh.
So that certainly seemed to be the plan from one of your party members and not the other.
[01:46:31] Speaker C: No, you're supposed to. They hold on to you, and you go.
[01:46:35] Speaker B: You're just trying to slow their fall.
[01:46:36] Speaker D: I'm supposed to grab onto a man in solid plate mail and another fully sized man. Man.
[01:46:42] Speaker A: And just maybe one at a time.
[01:46:44] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:46:44] Speaker C: What?
[01:46:45] Speaker D: Over and over again. How much HP does a blump have?
[01:46:48] Speaker C: It would still.
[01:46:49] Speaker B: You'd still fall, but it might be slow.
[01:46:52] Speaker A: I need y'all to make a. I need y'all to make some sort of a decision so bad.
Here's what I'm gonna do.
[01:46:59] Speaker D: Here's what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna. I'm gonna. I'm gonna tell Tello and Craig, and I'm gonna say, hey, guys, listen.
[01:47:06] Speaker C: Water.
[01:47:06] Speaker D: I'm gonna unplump. When I do that, I will no longer be able to hear you or speak to you at all. But. All right, I'm going to work my way down, climbing the walls of the cave and use my vine stuff to, like, help you make your way. Eventually, you're going to have to fall, and it may hurt a little bit, but Ro has a comfy bed for you to fall into.
[01:47:34] Speaker A: Got it.
[01:47:35] Speaker D: All right. I don't know how I'm gonna do Craig. He may just have to take a lot of pain.
[01:47:41] Speaker A: Craig just goes, I'll be okay.
[01:47:44] Speaker D: Okay. And then I do that. I unflump, and I climb my way down.
[01:47:50] Speaker A: Here's to the wall. Tendrils down. You slowly climb your way down and tell us. It's awful, boss. As you climb down, Tello's basically got his feet resting on your shoulders, and you're just supporting him with your shoulders. It's terrible. It hurts awfully. Your shoulders burn like fire. Tello's doing his best to pull his weight off of you as he climbs. You get far enough to where you can release him down, like the slide part of the last part of the descent, and you release him, and at the angle, Tello just shoots down. You repeat the process with Craig. Holy crap, holy crap, holy crap, holy crap, holy crap, holy crap, holy crap. From a human butt. This is awful.
But the other thing is that Craig is incredibly strong, so he can pull himself up a little bit as you go. On the way down. You managed to get him to the point he goes for that.
Abby, make me a dexterity saving throw with Tello.
Just rolled it for Craig.
Oh, what I wouldn't give for each of my players to have their leveled character sheets in their channels.
[01:48:51] Speaker D: Mine is in your. Is in a Dropbox link in my channel.
[01:48:54] Speaker A: I have that one. I have that one.
[01:48:55] Speaker C: It's gonna be there for Mr. Tello.
[01:48:59] Speaker A: Okay, so.
So Tello comes shooting down the pipe toward you all, and as he does, he puts a spin on it, and he pushes his hands up against the sides of the wall, slows his descent greatly and. And manages not to hit you all. So he's going to take eight points of bludgeoning damage as he hits the mesh and he holds his legs and he goes. My knees are going to hurt so much tomorrow. But he doesn't hurt any of you all. Craig gets a 13 and does not succeed in that.
[01:49:37] Speaker C: How many points of damage? Eight.
[01:49:40] Speaker A: Eight. I need. I need the three of you there on the mesh to roll D20s for me. Tello got a 10. I need Bro to roll one, and I need Greta to roll one.
[01:49:53] Speaker C: Dexterity or just D20.
[01:49:55] Speaker A: A D20.
[01:49:57] Speaker C: A three.
[01:49:59] Speaker B: Okay, got a four.
[01:50:01] Speaker A: Okay.
Craig goes flying down. He is. He holds his hammer out to the side, just ripping shards of mother of pearl down with him as he goes. And he's sliding. He's reducing his fall, but he doesn't nail the landing, and he does manage to cushion his fall.
He cushions his fall with Greta.
Greta, you take 28 points of bludgeoning damage as Craig slams into you at the bottom against the wall. And then Boz climbs down, and the entire party is gathered in a lot of pain on a vine mesh at the bottom of a mother of pearl tube above a big drop as rose most of the way through casting Leman's tiny hut.
[01:50:49] Speaker D: I reach into.
I hold my hand to my chest, and it glows gold for a little bit. And I pull out kind of like this goldish orb, and I put it on Greta and I sacrifice my fifth level.
[01:51:06] Speaker A: You're using your feature.
[01:51:09] Speaker D: Healing, but also when I do healing, sacrifice what?
His firstborn child, she gets to add.
[01:51:22] Speaker A: He'S desperately trying to tell you, heal.
[01:51:24] Speaker D: This much, you are going to take 66 of healing plus no, no. 5 D6 plus 6 plus 1 D4.
[01:51:40] Speaker A: So you roll those, Landon.
[01:51:42] Speaker D: I roll those. Never mind, Daddy.
[01:51:44] Speaker A: You roll those.
[01:51:45] Speaker D: I roll those.
[01:51:51] Speaker A: Numbers 35 healing. Greta, you're back up to full. As Bozzi. As Boz. All of the gold in his skin lights up and his eyes flash with the gold of the. Of the first flame. He just puts his hand on you and that gold orb comes out, suffuses your skin, and all your wounds heal and bind and you feel invigorated. Not a spell. Not a spell.
[01:52:17] Speaker D: You don't have to say any words.
[01:52:19] Speaker A: No rules.
[01:52:20] Speaker C: Thank you.
[01:52:20] Speaker A: No verbal components. Incredible. Landon. A way to read your features. Okay, Row creates the dome.
[01:52:31] Speaker D: I want to point out that this.
[01:52:33] Speaker B: Is one of the. I need to roll a D100.
[01:52:35] Speaker D: Where sorcerer casts wild magic fireball on themselves in the group and ends the adventure.
[01:52:42] Speaker A: Depending what you get with your D100.
[01:52:44] Speaker D: It could be crazy.
[01:52:46] Speaker B: Wait, what?
[01:52:47] Speaker A: So now you're going to take a D100? You're going to roll it and you'll let me know what you got.
[01:52:51] Speaker B: Now, what was Landon saying?
[01:52:53] Speaker A: No one knows. It's provocative. It gets the crowd going.
[01:52:56] Speaker D: What are you talking about? No, the classic thing is with a wild magic sorcerer accidentally cast.
[01:53:01] Speaker A: I know. I'm just trying to keep Jackie focused on the role.
[01:53:04] Speaker D: Okay. Okay.
[01:53:06] Speaker B: Why didn't you roll earlier?
[01:53:08] Speaker A: So go ahead. What'd you get on that D100 roll?
[01:53:11] Speaker B: No, I. I think I rolled the same.
[01:53:14] Speaker A: Yeah? What'd you get?
[01:53:15] Speaker B: I rolled a 45.
[01:53:18] Speaker A: That's different.
[01:53:19] Speaker B: Oh, it must have been a 48. It was a 40 something, wasn't it?
[01:53:30] Speaker A: It's like poetry. It rhymes. Roll a D4 for me, buddy.
[01:53:36] Speaker B: I don't wanna do it.
I rolled a 4.
[01:53:45] Speaker A: I love being a DM. For the next four days, you have uncontrollable bouts of flatulence. You have a minus 10 to stop.
No hair, bottom of a tube, getting gassy. Rope finishes. Rope finishes early with tiny hut and you guys all stuck in the hut with her here.
[01:54:07] Speaker D: I don't know why we did Lehman's tiny hut. Why did we do leaving tiny Hu Hut again?
[01:54:13] Speaker B: We're gonna use it as a dome to. To get. To bring us down there.
[01:54:21] Speaker D: How is that gonna help?
[01:54:23] Speaker B: Because it'll protect us.
[01:54:25] Speaker D: How is it gonna do?
[01:54:26] Speaker A: Hold on, hold on. Let me DM Yalls improvised capsule of travel is now filled with violently noxious cats.
Though you can't hear it, you can smell it. And Craig. Craig just goes, oh, bro. Nice and tell. Just goes. I. I Don't do die this way.
The rest of the plan, as you guys had it, was to cut the green part, like, outside of the base free, or for Ro to use to retract the vines and have it fall, correct?
[01:55:01] Speaker B: Yeah, but I don't want to retract all of it, cuz then there won't be a bottom.
[01:55:05] Speaker A: You can maintain the base. Do you do that, Ro? Yes.
[01:55:08] Speaker D: Okay, I can't talk.
This isn't gonna do anything to protect us.
[01:55:18] Speaker A: It's not gonna do anything to protect.
All right, do you do it or do you not do it?
[01:55:30] Speaker B: I do do it, but the noise you made sounded like dial up.
[01:55:35] Speaker A: Excellent. That's the takeaway. So, y'all.
You smell the fart. And then Ro goes, I think we have to rename this session Rose before bros or something. I don't know. Ro goes.
And the vines just start to grow back from the wall. They maintain their mush and their mesh, and they, like, grow up into the. The dome. And then as it separates from the wall, you guys go. And you're. You're very tightly packed together in the dome. It's barely enough to fit all of you guys right now. The dome goes.
[01:56:07] Speaker B: I yell, hold on to each other.
[01:56:09] Speaker A: Okay, everyone here. And everybody grabs each other.
[01:56:12] Speaker D: Boss is like, don't touch me. I need to be. I don't know what. I'm not. No one's holding me here. If I didn't leave, I'm leaving.
[01:56:20] Speaker A: And. And here's what happens. The dome goes.
You get starting to feel like you're on a ride, falling.
And then.
And then everything flashes with bright light, bright blue light. And you guys. You guys, all of your stomachs lift inside of you. You all feel a lift. And then the world rotates. And you all share a spectacular moment as you all look out at an empty sky around you. You look up and see no tunnel. You just see sky.
And you guys look out at open sky and a different island below you. An island in the shape and the same shape as the island you all arrived at. But this one is a long series of volcanic mountains leading up to one central peak in a spiral covered by forest. To get into Kurftenantalamuloth, you have to go through Kirtan onto Lumuloth. You have returned to the same isle, but with its true form.
And you all are now plummeting down toward it. So the capsule just rotates and rotates and rotates. And now you guys are rotated. You're fully upside down. Rotate again.
Another revolution. Slowly you're rotating. The world is just the satellite is of wind rushing by, though everything's starting to very slowly spin. All of you guys are rolling around in the improvised capsule. Anybody doing anything?
[01:58:08] Speaker D: I, I, I, I can't hear anybody. So I'm just.
[01:58:14] Speaker A: And pause. What Boss can't hear is Craig is screaming and screaming.
[01:58:20] Speaker D: I'm gonna jump out. I'm gonna leave the hut.
[01:58:23] Speaker A: Okay, Boss, I leave the hut and.
[01:58:26] Speaker D: I turn into his legs. And the Bronze Dragon oneling from outside. X.
[01:58:30] Speaker A: Excellent. Boss shoots himself out. So you guys are rotating in a hut, falling from the sky. And Boss kicks himself out of the hut. And then there's a flurry of leaves and just the drag. The bronze wormling is soaring down, plummeting with the hut outside.
[01:58:47] Speaker D: I'm trying to break into the hut to get the people inside. Like, I'm trying to break into it.
[01:58:52] Speaker A: Excellent.
[01:58:53] Speaker B: Well, he should be able to be in, in it because he's. I know it's Boz. So you can reach.
[01:58:58] Speaker A: That is true. Boss can reach through. You are an ally. All right. Are you just Mission impossible tumbling in the sky with the hut, extracting people?
[01:59:06] Speaker D: Here's what I'm thinking. I can't fly fat. I, I can't fly back and get this thing. I, I, I have, I grab tello.
[01:59:15] Speaker A: Wait, if you, Boss, if you tuck.
[01:59:17] Speaker C: Your wings, take your cloth into the mat and carry the mattress, that's a possibility.
[01:59:23] Speaker A: You could certainly try. That's a lot of force going downward. You could certainly try. The other truth is that their gravitational acceleration is not greater than yours, and in fact, they're enduring more drag. So if you, if you fold your wings, you will move downward at a greater rate than they do.
[01:59:37] Speaker D: Right. But to get back up, I'm gonna have to start from zero. Like, I'm gonna have to.
And I'm gonna have to meet them something that's going faster. Like, that's not gonna work, right? Like, I, I'm not going to be able to meet this falling thing because.
[01:59:50] Speaker A: It'S going to, if you dived, it's falling here, you pushed out of it and transformed here. If you tuck your wings, you'll fall at a greater rate. You could, you could, you could like, just open your, you could open your limbs, rise back up. The way skydivers can move back and forth to each other in freefall. You could open your limbs, move back up to it at its pace and meet it there. It's just rotating. Or you could try the strategy of grabbing onto it. Your biggest one On.
[02:00:13] Speaker D: Yes. I think what you're. I think we're actually saying the same thing.
[02:00:16] Speaker A: Yeah, I think.
[02:00:17] Speaker D: But I only have one shot to get people right, and I don't have enough hands to grab everybody.
[02:00:22] Speaker A: No, you have the time it takes before it reaches the ground.
[02:00:27] Speaker D: Exactly. But I have to get people.
Like, how if you.
[02:00:33] Speaker B: I.
[02:00:34] Speaker D: All right, I grab Craig and Tello and I try to get them out of my back.
[02:00:38] Speaker A: Okay, Give me rolls to hit. This isn't going to resolve in damage. You're just trying to grab in. So there's a flash. Now, you guys aren't spin tumbling, where everything's just colors. The whole world's just rotating slowly as you guys roll back and forth in the chamber, screaming. And you all can see Bond's dragon, Boz, plummeting with you all. You can see him getting closer even as his whole image turns upside down and then right side up and then upside down, and he's moving towards you, clearly trying to grab something. What's your roll to hit, Boz?
[02:01:10] Speaker D: I have a plus three.
Do I have anything except my strength modifier? That's a 19. Okay, so that's plus three. So that's 22.
[02:01:19] Speaker A: You successfully. You successfully grab both Boz and. Or both Craig and Tello. Huge draconic limbs reach in, grab Craig, grab Tello, and rip them out, and then they're free falling with you. But as you hold them to you, like Craig, with his great strength, climbs around to your back. And even though you're a whole dragon squeezing around your neck like he's pulling kind of tight, but he's holding on. You have grip of Tello in your talons. The bubble is still falling. Greta or Roe, are you doing anything?
[02:01:48] Speaker B: Question. With Polymorph, if you cast it at a higher level, do you cast it on. Can you cast it on multiple people or. That's not how that works.
[02:01:56] Speaker A: If it says anything in the notes about that, then it can. Can.
Okay, I'm looking it up for you right now. There are no details on upcasting. A Polymorph is a Polymorph.
[02:02:10] Speaker B: So what I'm going to do is I'm going to Polymorph into a giant eagle and try to, like, barrel roll and hold on to Greta.
[02:02:18] Speaker A: Phenomenal. Roll a D100 for me.
[02:02:22] Speaker B: Yeah.
[02:02:24] Speaker A: Greta, are you doing anything in particular?
Okay.
[02:02:28] Speaker B: 66.
[02:02:30] Speaker A: 66.
[02:02:32] Speaker D: The place to get your kicks.
[02:02:35] Speaker A: Wow.
You strum the chords desperately for Polymorph. The magic flourishes, and a massive bird shape emerges. It's not A giant eagle. You polymorph into a different animal, except you polymorph into another giant bird. You polymorph into a BJ and Condor. That was probably the single luckiest possible role for real. Roll the hit and add a plus one for me. You're trying to grab Greta, and if you were grabbing a different party member, this wouldn't work. But Greta is so small a beast, and Condor will be able to carry her.
[02:03:09] Speaker B: Okay, good. Roll the hit and add a one, you said.
Okay, that's gonna be a dirty 20.
[02:03:23] Speaker A: The claws, the talons reach into your drier, tumbling world. And Greta, you are pulled out of the bubble. And you all, all five party members are now gliding two on a dragon. Wyrmling boz. Holy crap. This is so much weight. It's a horrible strain, but you can keep it up. It's like swimming. And then ro. It's a lot of weight beneath you. You're pulling about as much as you can, but you're carrying Greta. And the two giant flying creatures are sailing slowly down toward the isle. And you all watch as the capsule with Liam and Tiny Hutt and the mesh of plants below just goes tumbling, tumbling, tumbling down toward the mountain. And not too long after, it suddenly impacts stone and just shatters into color. And the wildest part is the plant shatters, but the hut's just left there as an impact crater. I'm not even really sure what happens to it. I don't know. I'll say it shatters for whatever reason. We'll come up to those exact mechanics later.
And you guys are now just flying above the island. It's completely different now. Same shape, same layout, same topography, but beautiful arching mountains, verdant forests.
Gorgeous.
And it looks like one long path leading to a central winding peak, but it's far, far, far away.
[02:04:43] Speaker B: I just look for the. The. This the nearest low peak spot to land. Yeah. Okay.
[02:04:50] Speaker A: The party kettles and glides downward until all five members are dropped off on the surface. With everyone alive.
[02:05:02] Speaker B: I unpolymorph and just lay on the ground.
[02:05:08] Speaker A: All five party members are just there panting. And tello goes, man, I miss parts of digitation. I could really use some help with my pants.
[02:05:18] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm not doing it again right now, Craig.
[02:05:23] Speaker A: And hurls.
[02:05:30] Speaker B: Okay.
[02:05:31] Speaker A: And there the party just rests, shocked, but all surviving and on curved and untalamuloth.
[02:05:40] Speaker C: For real this time. How can we be sure?
[02:05:44] Speaker B: If there's a little voice comes by.
[02:05:46] Speaker A: A little voice comes by on the wind and goes, that Would be an exhausting gimmick from an unreliable decent DM who's deeply divorced from your connection to Fawn Fon. Fawn. The Big Mike. The Big Mike. The Big Mike.
And you all are. The whole island is like one long, spiny mountain ridge pulling together that spiraling.
[02:06:07] Speaker D: Path down and takes a short rest.
[02:06:09] Speaker B: Is there a tower anywhere? Do we see a tower?
[02:06:13] Speaker A: No, but it looks like all the long surface just leads one winding path up to a central spiraling peak in the middle.
[02:06:24] Speaker C: Central spiraling tower. I mean peak.
[02:06:26] Speaker A: I mean cinnamon roll of mountains.
The top of the cinnamon roll rises upward in topography the whole way in the middle. High, central peak. And it goes up and up like that peak. That mountain peak at the middle is like mountain peak, half a mile high.
[02:06:42] Speaker C: I mean.
[02:06:45] Speaker A: Mountain. Cinnamon roll, middle of the cinnamon roll, highest mountain.
[02:06:49] Speaker C: I mean peak. I meant to say peak. I keep saying tower.
[02:06:53] Speaker A: I think you're just messing with me at this point.
[02:06:55] Speaker C: Yeah. I keep saying tower.
[02:06:56] Speaker D: I mean to say Oz is still silent, so he just kind of like.
[02:07:02] Speaker A: And then Boz's silence wears off.
[02:07:05] Speaker D: Oh.
[02:07:06] Speaker A: Because it's had it benefit. I don't care about the.
[02:07:09] Speaker D: Okay. Okay.
[02:07:11] Speaker A: And if everyone would like to take a long rest, they most certainly can.
[02:07:14] Speaker B: Yeah.
[02:07:16] Speaker A: Excuse me. A short rest. I mean, you guys can just go to sleep if you want.
[02:07:19] Speaker B: No, Ro is like, rose, like, I don't think I'm gonna have to sleep. And she just, like. She just fought. Like, she goes full long rest.
[02:07:28] Speaker A: Okay.
Goes to sleep.
[02:07:31] Speaker C: Me too.
[02:07:32] Speaker A: Greta does as well.
I'm going to go clean out my pants, and then I'm going to do the same.
[02:07:39] Speaker D: Keep watch.
[02:07:41] Speaker A: Okay. And the whole party goes to sleep.
I envisioned. And there's nothing wrong with it. I love. That was one of my favorite moments of the campaign so far. I envisioned everyone getting in the tube, being like a light source, investigating with one of their familiars, and then being like, oh, we'll fly down. Flying down. And then this just being a transitionary scene about a cool, cool visual effect. Didn't know it was going to be a fascinating skill, ability, thrill, but loved it. All that to say it has taken up most of the session. I assume most of us are probably ready to cut it. I trying to read the room.
[02:08:16] Speaker C: I gotta head out. I'm too sick.
[02:08:18] Speaker A: Okay. I just wanted to make sure. I will. I don't know what I'm gonna do next time.
I'll. I'll rearrange some stuff for next time, and I think we'll be fine. And I got it.
[02:08:29] Speaker B: Sorry, Zach.
[02:08:31] Speaker A: No, no, it's okay. Hey, hey, hey. Loved all that. That was incredible. Don't apologize.
I just need to do some replanning, but that's. That's for me.
That was incredible. Don't apologize. Any. Any votes on what? I wish I named the first session. Anyway, this is a conversation for. After we're done.
[02:08:53] Speaker D: We'll get the SEO pickup on that.
[02:08:57] Speaker A: Should 123 be. There goes gravity.
[02:09:00] Speaker D: No, it should be denied.
[02:09:02] Speaker B: Defying gravity.
[02:09:03] Speaker A: Everybody agrees with me that I was okay. Everybody agrees that I'm wrong. Defying gravity it is.
[02:09:10] Speaker B: I like what you're saying, but defying gravity is the.
[02:09:13] Speaker A: Okay, okay, listener. Life is an incredible adventure. You're an important part of it. And just remember, make sure your friend has gotten the wild magic punishment for guidance.
