[00:00:00] Speaker A: Foreign. Welcome back to Barely D and D. You don't know this, but. Oh, welcome back to Bailey D and D, your sort of Dungeons and Dragons podcast. You don't know. Oh, this. There's nothing I love more than when Jackie's in the middle of talking and we start the recording just so she has to stop. I don't know why we pick on Jackie so much. It's love, Jackie. It's like. It's like, you know, sibling energy. [00:00:24] Speaker B: Rancher 2 what? No, no, it's years old. I'm sorry. [00:00:32] Speaker A: You'Re short of Dungeons and Dragons podcast is the mz. And we are ready to get started with new episode. But before with the episode with a lady question. So Landon said he has lady their question. What is question? [00:00:47] Speaker C: Like Mish Baguber, does your character know. [00:00:52] Speaker B: The difference between a bassoon and oboe? [00:00:54] Speaker A: Okay, all right. Well, just hold on to this. Hold on. Hold on to this thought. When we get to the second episode. Hold on to this moment. And when something happens in the second episode and you ask yourself, why. No, this was why. No, this was why. Hold on. [00:01:16] Speaker C: He's going to kill my dad with a dragon. Good. [00:01:20] Speaker B: He probably deserved it then. [00:01:22] Speaker C: Whoa. That was really. [00:01:26] Speaker A: It's dragon death. [00:01:28] Speaker B: What if he fixed his death because the dragon is really your dad. Your dad was the pirate on the beach. What are we even talking about? [00:01:36] Speaker A: He's. [00:01:36] Speaker B: He's not even in that. [00:01:38] Speaker C: He wasn't a pirate. [00:01:41] Speaker A: Anywho. [00:01:41] Speaker C: Anywho. [00:01:42] Speaker A: Do we have an actual editor question? Because I didn't prepare in. Because you said you had one, so. [00:01:47] Speaker B: I do have a letter. [00:01:47] Speaker A: Okay. I mean, that was a great joke. What's the letter? [00:01:51] Speaker B: Character lived through a traditional real life Christmas season. What would their favorite part be? [00:01:59] Speaker A: I kind of dig that. Okay, who's the DM npc? Oh, also, it's Landon and Jackie right now. [00:02:05] Speaker C: Hi. [00:02:06] Speaker A: The Big Mike has been called to go save the world again. And Grabby will be. Grabby's not on yet, but she will suddenly appear at some point. [00:02:13] Speaker B: We are scared. So somewhere she'll be. [00:02:16] Speaker A: I mean, I usually am of her. [00:02:18] Speaker B: I want to choose the DMNPC because I came up with a good letter question and everybody else was just. Was just gawking. [00:02:25] Speaker A: Good use of gawking. [00:02:27] Speaker B: All right. Okay, okay, okay. The. The DMN PC that I'm going to choose is. Is Greta. But not this Greta. The Greta from the other one shot. [00:02:42] Speaker A: From the one shot. [00:02:43] Speaker B: Greta from the one shot. [00:02:46] Speaker C: No, she's still not an npc. [00:02:48] Speaker B: How about this DM inspiration for. He gets to choose his own NPC that he wants to do for this time. He never does. [00:02:55] Speaker A: You're giving me inspiration if I pick. [00:02:58] Speaker B: No, like, DM inspiration to pick. Like you have the ability to. To pick. [00:03:03] Speaker A: I want to pick. Okay. Wow. Well, I wasn't ready for this. All right, let me think. You guys answer. You guys answer with your characters, and I'll think. [00:03:13] Speaker B: So Baz's favorite part of Christmas would be doing it one day earlier every year and then seeing who would get money. [00:03:24] Speaker A: I thought you asked December 7th. [00:03:26] Speaker C: I'm sorry. [00:03:27] Speaker A: What's wrong with you? [00:03:28] Speaker C: And he's like, I thought you asked what would be their favorite part of traditional Christmas activities. [00:03:36] Speaker B: That would be his favorite part. [00:03:37] Speaker C: That is not. [00:03:38] Speaker B: It gets earlier every year. [00:03:40] Speaker C: They embrace it. [00:03:40] Speaker B: That's all I. [00:03:42] Speaker A: There's nothing more Landon, than going, what's your. What's your character's favorite part of tradition? And then he gets to him and he goes, yeah, it would be breaking the tradition. That would be his favorite part of the tradition. [00:03:50] Speaker B: Okay. I just want to acknowledge that doing Christmas earlier every year is a trope, and it. It is. It is a thing that happens. Okay. All I'm saying is he would embrace that. [00:04:01] Speaker A: Rowena, be the caroling. [00:04:05] Speaker C: No. [00:04:06] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:04:07] Speaker C: It would be okay. Everyone at her whole family, orphan. [00:04:11] Speaker B: Can I sing you a song? [00:04:12] Speaker C: Please, Can I have some? [00:04:17] Speaker A: As a grown adult, a successful advent of the best parts in the world going around caroling, and just every single time. Every time, everyone gets done in class for her, and they go, wow, that was great. She goes, thank you. Thank you. I used to be an orphan. And then she just walks. [00:04:30] Speaker B: I took fencing lessons with the mother of math of the. Of the abbey. And I miss. I live in poverty, but I did fencing, so. [00:04:41] Speaker C: I never said I lived in poverty. [00:04:43] Speaker B: Okay, okay. [00:04:44] Speaker A: It was a nice. It was a nice. [00:04:45] Speaker C: Yeah, it was nice. I just said I was an orphan. Orphans don't have to be poor. That's okay. Everyone. [00:04:53] Speaker A: Could everyone write that quote down? Orphans don't have to be for Jackie Butler, 2024. I want it on a shirt. I want it on a hat. I might get a tattoo. [00:05:07] Speaker C: No, I think everyone around her would think, oh, yeah, Rowena the bard, she loves the caroling. And secretly, she, like, kind of doesn't like the caroling because it's not as much different. Well, no, it's, like, not as much about, like, she has to, like, play while, like, everyone else, like, sings off key and she's like, yeah. So I think her true favorite Would be like making Christmas cookies and decorating them and probably going to like church of saloon. But on Christmas, I feel like the. [00:05:48] Speaker A: Cathedral would put on a killer. [00:05:50] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. [00:05:52] Speaker A: Days of Last Light is what Landon is. [00:05:58] Speaker B: Roa Creaster. [00:06:00] Speaker C: She's a saloonian. [00:06:02] Speaker B: Is she a saloonite that goes to what, the temple? On saloon Christmas and saloon Easter. [00:06:09] Speaker C: But not any other time. No. No, because you've seen her. Anytime she's ever been near a temple, she goes to it. [00:06:16] Speaker B: That is true. [00:06:17] Speaker C: She's not. She's very. She's not a creature. Yeah, she's very much devote. [00:06:23] Speaker B: Okay. [00:06:24] Speaker A: Devote. I'm gonna pick Dolgoth. What would Dolgoth's favorite part of Christmas have been? [00:06:31] Speaker B: I love it. I love it. [00:06:33] Speaker A: I. He's dead now, but when he was alive, if he had experienced Christmas. And you know what? Here's what I'm gonna do. [00:06:40] Speaker B: I'm Tiny Tim, all grown up. [00:06:43] Speaker C: That's depressing. If we killed old Tiny Tim. [00:06:48] Speaker A: Bless everyone Truly, truly, truly living to see yourself become the villain. But I would say that not only am I gonna answer it for Dolgoth, I'm gonna answer it for Dolgoth. But like Dolgoth in A Christmas Story. So Dolgoth, who is still horrible and awful, but irredeemable monster. And instead, like, you know, like there's. There's a heart underneath all the coal. And I'm gonna say that if he was a slightly redeemable Grinch. Oh, my goodness. We need to play a Christmas one shot where Dolgoth's the Grinch and everyone has to get him to love. We need to play a one shot with Daniel where It's winter ends. Ms. And Megan Grund. And Dolgoth is the Grinch. And everybody. Oh, my goodness. This is so good. Anyway, sorry. I think his favorite part would be. You know what? I don't know why I'm saying this, but I think his favorite part would be Santa. I think. I think he would just love the idea of Santa and get really into Santa. It's my official answer. I'm leaning with that. [00:07:56] Speaker C: I'm here for it. I can see Dolte Goff getting real excited. And, like, maybe the reason he turned evil is because as a kid, he wrote Santa a letter and he didn't get what he wanted for Christmas. [00:08:08] Speaker A: That's why. That is why he made a demonic pact. Wow, this has been goofy. [00:08:16] Speaker B: This is a fun fact. At the Council of Nicaea, Saint Nicholas punched someone while they're Working on the Nicene Creed. So that's pretty cool. I feel like that it's given to. [00:08:27] Speaker A: A goth and haven't we all, really? [00:08:31] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:08:33] Speaker A: Nice to read. [00:08:34] Speaker B: Is why Constantinople stopped existing. [00:08:37] Speaker A: I feel like we've all punched someone while working on the nice and nice Nice and teen Creed. [00:08:41] Speaker B: Yeah. The nightstand come from God the Father or God the Father and Jesus Christ. [00:08:47] Speaker C: Zachary Godfather to Godfather. [00:08:50] Speaker B: Who could ever know? Let's get into this episode, you guys. [00:08:56] Speaker C: Jonathan, I want to make you an offer. [00:08:59] Speaker A: The only way he doesn't answer in a comment is if he's doing it, like, with sweat beating on his forehead. Just, like, breathing deeply. [00:09:04] Speaker C: I have to tell. [00:09:05] Speaker B: I actually love to hear his thoughts on this. [00:09:06] Speaker C: I have to tell a really cool, fun fact that I almost. I almost feel really bad Abby not being here, but I figured Jonathan will get a kick out of this, and I'll tell Abby later. But monks are who created pretzels to look like hands praying, and they would then give them out to, like, parishioners. Like, this was, like, in, like, specific marketing. This was in, like, the three hundreds or something. So fun little fact. I read that the other day. Okay, so monks made pretzels. [00:09:45] Speaker A: Note taking nerds. This is episode 122 of the Accidental Adventures. There's a lot of those to weirder worlds. I've run out of synonyms for islands. And it is a level 11 adventure. [00:10:08] Speaker C: 11.833, to be exact. [00:10:11] Speaker A: Yes, ma'am. The date is 34.88, papa. It is Kalilan 15. And I'm just gonna. I have to change some things because I have a slightly different assemblage of people that I was planning on. But any hoodle starting with that. Are we hearing music? Yes. [00:10:34] Speaker C: Fun. [00:10:34] Speaker A: Guys. [00:10:35] Speaker C: That's us. [00:10:36] Speaker A: You. Dang it. You got. You got me. That was legal. That was fair. That was fair game. I have to acknowledge that. Luna, I'm gonna need you to Not. If you could not. That would be great. Sorry. There's gonna be a lot of interruptions of managing Luna, but for the listeners. Mm. You guys are still in foofumph. You're on the far side of the central magical mountain. And it was previously. We'll say that Roe is aware of this. It was very previously the northeasterly side of the mountain, and now it is the northwestern side, because the islands are moving in constant rotation around Ogba, and apparently it has crossed that meridian, and it is now on the other side. And you guys stay at that far lower slope of the mountain where it has become so level that it's almost just kind of like a descending part of the topography. The mountain some distance behind you, and you've been engulfed by that, the gentle forest of the landscape. It's all among that declining topography again. And you all have reached. You followed one of those tributaries down to the home of Jath. The individual has turned out to be your father. And you are by that very small off flowing river that turns into that waterfall down the edge of that sizable cliff and where we are now, a day has passed. That original day that you met him and had all the conversation. Also, Lando is the quickest recap in the world. When everyone else got off, Ro just spoke to her father for a while longer. And then he, as a maker of magical instruments and the original individual to make the loot, which Ro inherited from Ravenna, gave her a magical. Another lute which he had been working on, which is basically like a flat lute that is attached to Raven, a hand axe. The hand ax and the loot are one in the same and it has a bunch of additional abilities and it's like a magical hand axe that Ro can like throw and then like whistle and retrieve. And so that's a really dope item she has now. [00:12:53] Speaker C: I said I'm. I said I'm Thor. [00:12:56] Speaker A: I thought you shouted I'm four. That makes more sense. I'm four. So. So that that day has. Has come and gone and you guys have gotten an evening's rest. So if any long resting implications need to be had, consider yourselves long rested. There's any spell changes for that? I don't think anyone was missing hit points. [00:13:23] Speaker B: What island are we going to next? Zachary? [00:13:26] Speaker A: I believe the plan next was Kurftan onto Lomuloth. [00:13:29] Speaker B: Okay, so the place with a tower. [00:13:31] Speaker C: But we're gonna chill here for a. [00:13:33] Speaker B: Hot minute for like an hour or so. [00:13:37] Speaker C: Like a few days. [00:13:40] Speaker A: You all are waking that next morning and the some people I assume have eaten an ostrich egg breakfast, others not. I don't know. Up to y'all. Maybe Bosby pre prepared Goodberry again. You guys tell me. [00:13:55] Speaker C: I ask Jath about food. [00:13:59] Speaker A: That's what I did. [00:14:01] Speaker C: Yeah, that's what I did. I figured. [00:14:04] Speaker B: I just figured one star Yelp this guy if he doesn't feed us. [00:14:11] Speaker A: Okay, so. Oh, oh, and before I do anything else, I have not had an opportunity to go. I mean, it's no big deal, but we haven't published the previous episode yet and it's been two weeks. I don't remember what Jeff's voice sounds like. I think I know, but could y'all help me? I think it's like here, like a little. A little lone, soft and kind of got a draw to it. Was that correct? Was it like that? [00:14:31] Speaker C: Yeah, that was okay. [00:14:33] Speaker B: Southern, I think, to it. Thanks. I don't think. [00:14:35] Speaker A: Okay. All right. Okay. So a bit longer and more. Yeah, that's right. It's more. [00:14:38] Speaker C: Yeah, that's it. Yeah. [00:14:40] Speaker B: Matthew McConaughey. [00:14:42] Speaker A: Like, Matthew McConaughey. [00:14:43] Speaker C: I'm writing that down like a tired Matthew McConaughey, but he's just. [00:14:47] Speaker A: But he's just a little worn. No, I can't do that, or I'm going to focus too much on Matthew McConaughey. [00:14:53] Speaker C: Yeah, don't do that. It wasn't Matthew McConaughey. [00:14:55] Speaker A: You all are not. You haven't stayed inside of Jath's home because the subterranean home, as Ro experienced yesterday, is quite small and really has room for like two people max. So the party just camped out on the outside space outside of that tree that he walks down to go into the home. So it's just early morning. And actually, we'll say that Jath hasn't risen yet. It's just the party. And it's probably like seven in the morning. He's nowhere to be seen yet. Craig is just ker clanking. Ker clanking finishing up his workout row. You can also been a part of it. Um, roll the D12 for me and add it onto your workout days. Um, but, you know, the group is just going about their business. Tello is last. Tello and Greta are last to wake up, as they often are. Tell is doing his stretches and sitting there and picking out his fro that's growing 6. Okay, you can add those on. But what is. What is everybody doing as they get ready in the morning? [00:15:59] Speaker C: I have a question about. About what am I saying? Attunement slots. [00:16:09] Speaker A: Yes. How long they met your proficiency bonus. [00:16:13] Speaker C: Yeah, I know that. My question was because we established last session that my normal loot does require attunement now that it has, like, you know, major magic in it. So my question is, is how long does it take any amount of time to un. Attune from something or from that specifically. And does it. And how much. How much time does it take to attune to it since it's. I'm asking because it's obviously a homebrew item. So it doesn't, you know, I don't know the amount of time it takes. [00:16:51] Speaker A: It'll still Follow it'll still follow the same rules for what it takes to attune to it to attune will be the same, but could be technical rules. I'll just say that unattuning and tuning and attuning are the same. Let's just put it that way. 10 minutes to unattune. Same way it's 10 minutes to attune. [00:17:20] Speaker C: So for song splinter, it takes 10 minutes to attune to. And for mine, it takes 10 minutes to atthee to. [00:17:26] Speaker A: Yeah, okay. [00:17:27] Speaker C: Sick. That's all I wanted to know. [00:17:34] Speaker A: I want to say have a formal name. [00:17:38] Speaker C: No, I never have named it and I kind of want to. I know I'm gonna think about that. [00:17:44] Speaker A: I'm gonna think this is my instrument looty. [00:17:53] Speaker C: I want to say that instead of unattuning to favor's class, I unattuned to my loot to because I figured that's what I'll probably do. Depending on, like, if I know we're about to go into battle or something. I'll attune to it maybe. [00:18:11] Speaker A: Is this not the more battle y of the two loots? [00:18:14] Speaker C: No, that's what I mean. [00:18:16] Speaker A: Oh, I got you. You're saying. I'm sorry, your other like the Rowena's or Ravenna's loot that you have is the better for when you're not in combat. And then when you think you're headed into combat, you'll switch. [00:18:27] Speaker C: Yeah, like, it might not be great to play the one that looks like an ax, a tavern. It might scare people, you know? Like, might keep that one on my back anyway. [00:18:36] Speaker A: And ravine is good for like. It has a bunch of divination stuff and good for like, big important moments outside. I'm with you. I spell your step in. Okay. [00:18:43] Speaker C: Yeah, okay. Sorry, that was just a little housekeeping. I wanted to make sure how long things took. [00:18:48] Speaker A: The most brief note. Ro looks awesome. And that's important to not skip over because now she's dual wielding. She has two lutes on her back at all times, and one is all covered in crystal and looks just uber magical and has the symbol of the maker and all that has amethyst and gold. The other one looks like a battle axe covered in silver with leaf designs all over it. So she just. She looks even more sick than before. I was thinking about this the other day, about how, like, now Craig is a paladin in full paint armor with the world's coolest sword with, like a battle mohawk and his goatee and his burn mark and the gold flecks. And then Ro, she has the gold streaks in her hair and she has. I'd love to know what you've updated your glamour studded order to. But, but like the, the two instruments. And then Greta has those. I remember the other day when she cast tongues. She has those emerald tattoos swirling away from her mouth down her neck now. And so like the whole party just looks so metal. But anyhow. [00:19:53] Speaker C: And literally looks like just a drew at Druidic God. Basically. This is the druid. [00:20:01] Speaker A: Oz is starting to look a little bit like an archfey. [00:20:03] Speaker C: Yeah. Like he's just over here like, yes, I'm magical. [00:20:07] Speaker A: Any question, this is the druid of a killer Bella. Yeah, we. I seriously, all I want for my birthday is new fan art of the fun guys. But anyhow. Okay. Or new artwork of the fungi. Anywho, so what that party do? [00:20:24] Speaker C: I think after I work out, I'm going to go by that cliff that he took me by and just kind of. [00:20:33] Speaker A: I mean, you guys are camped right next to it. [00:20:34] Speaker C: Yeah. Let's just practice some swinging. The swinging song splitter and, and, and, and also throwing it and whistling in it, coming back and stuff. I probably. I feel like I maybe even if. If Boz wants to, since Boz wasn't like there when I got it. Like be like Boz, do you wanna. Do you wanna come check this out or whatever and bring him. Bring him over if he wants to. [00:21:01] Speaker A: Yeah. As you look at the loot, it's crazy looking cause loots have like very round robust bodies. And this one has almost no resonance chamber at all. It almost becomes perfectly flat like the head of an axe. And the resonance instead from it is from the magical vibration of the chords rather than from the air reverberating in the chamber. And the neck of it is very narrow. You have to have very dexterous fingers to work the fingers correctly. If you're not a talented musician, this would be very hard to work with. And the body comes down into an elongated angle on one side with a sharpened silver blade. So that literally a metal blade protrudes out from one side of the body. And there are all these silver filigrees and gildings down its side and they terminating a bunch of leaf designs. And the cords are like trimmed with silver and it's just a very silver. And then like the wood below it is like a very dark brown as contrast. And so it's just this very like mahogany silver combo. And it's very thin and light and ro. What is it that you demonstrate to Boz with it. [00:22:07] Speaker C: I think I probably do the first thing that Jath did. Like I throw it and kind of like see what like if I can get a rise out of Boz for just literally just throwing my instrument and then whistling for it to come back. [00:22:23] Speaker A: Okay, Boz. Ro walks over the edge, shows you the syncret and then just turns it away. And the waterfall is just thundering and drumming nearby. And it's like a 40 foot drop. And the instrument starts to down the expanse. Does boss have any sort of a reaction? [00:22:43] Speaker B: I feel like he just kind of nods and he turns back to Ro. He's like, you know, I did the same thing with the cloak. It's kind of freeing, isn't it? [00:22:51] Speaker C: And then like I want to say like in the middle of him saying. [00:22:55] Speaker B: That, I just like don't tell your dad though. He worked hard on that. [00:22:58] Speaker A: I think I like whistle whistles. It doesn't. It's cool because it doesn't like just stop and come back that like rotating tumble motion. The through the air just starts going back the other way. Like it's falling upward toward her. And as it returns the trajectory, she holds out her hand. And right before it gets to it, she doesn't even have to catch it. It just aligns itself to her grasp. And as it comes back to your hand low, it's just light. It's like catching a baseball. The force in your hand. [00:23:27] Speaker B: Wow. That's sick. That's sick. [00:23:31] Speaker A: A little bit of early sunlight gleams off of the silver. The willows around you dance softly. [00:23:36] Speaker C: It's a little bit exciting. [00:23:38] Speaker B: Gotta. You gotta loot from your mom and a loot from your dad. Well, technically they're both from your dad, but it's. I'm your mom's loot, Dad's ax. [00:23:47] Speaker C: That's true. I didn't think of it that way. Bulls. [00:23:50] Speaker A: Oh, that's so sweet. A piece of both parents at all time. They're always with. [00:23:59] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:24:01] Speaker B: They'Re going to touch every song that you sing. [00:24:05] Speaker C: He said he co wrote some of them. Some of her songs. [00:24:11] Speaker B: Interesting. [00:24:14] Speaker A: Interesting. [00:24:16] Speaker B: I never heard any of the songs until you play them for me. And they're pretty good. [00:24:22] Speaker A: So. [00:24:25] Speaker C: Did they not have. Well, you guys have music here? I guess. Just not the same. The same kind of music? [00:24:31] Speaker B: No, I mean I assume she probably. [00:24:33] Speaker C: You guys don't listen to pop music here? [00:24:35] Speaker B: I mean Zach, would they. Would they. Since they were written here, would some of them been here where there would be like different. [00:24:42] Speaker A: They were all Produced and made famous outside of the Lost Lands. [00:24:47] Speaker B: Yeah, like, the guy. [00:24:52] Speaker A: I mean, Jazz helped write them, but he just never performed them. [00:24:54] Speaker C: He wouldn't perform, and he just stays on this island. He didn't go anywhere and be like, hey, listen to this song. [00:25:02] Speaker B: Yeah, all right. No, I never heard him. They're pretty. They're pretty nice, though. [00:25:07] Speaker C: Yeah, I like them a lot. They're good inspiration for my own writing. [00:25:14] Speaker B: Is he who you thought he'd be? [00:25:19] Speaker C: I don't really know what I thought, but I think. I mean, I think it's greater than anything I could have thought up, if that makes sense. I mean, I didn't really have much to go off of, so. It's just the fact that he didn't, like, try to kill us when we came up on his land. That's a good sign. [00:25:52] Speaker B: If I. I. You're not gonna find anybody that tries to kill you from. You could probably have been in his house, like, sipping a cup of tea, and he would have been chill, like. [00:26:01] Speaker C: You mean here in. In the Lost Lens? [00:26:03] Speaker B: Yeah, like. Like, we're all in the club. We're all fam. No, A little. [00:26:10] Speaker A: A little voice. Whisper in the wind and goes, Big Mike. Big Mike. [00:26:17] Speaker C: But, yeah, I. Yeah, I think he's more than I could have ever asked for. [00:26:29] Speaker B: Yeah, we could just hear. [00:26:33] Speaker C: No, I. As much as. I mean, as much as that sounds like a nice vacation or something, I. I mean, I don't see myself being able to settle down, especially right now with everything that's going on. [00:26:51] Speaker B: Yeah. You know, I mean, there's ways to forget. [00:26:56] Speaker C: Eh. I don't feel like that's my. My purpose also. [00:27:04] Speaker B: What, like, you can. You can forget? Like, there's. There's magical ways to forget things? [00:27:12] Speaker C: Well, yeah, but. I mean, but that. I don't. I don't want to. I mean, as many bad things as we've seen in the past few months, even I. All the bad that we've been through in the world wouldn't want to make me forget the good things that have happened, you know? [00:27:34] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:27:35] Speaker B: I mean. [00:27:36] Speaker C: I mean, I wouldn't want to forget meeting you guys. [00:27:40] Speaker B: What if we're all here? I guess we can't forget. [00:27:42] Speaker C: Well, I mean, saving. Saving the world might, I mean, be better. [00:27:48] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, you know, if things go south, we can just hop over the other island and go to. I don't know. Was the place you went again, Shadowfell? I mean, was it really that bad? I'm joking. It's an awful. [00:28:03] Speaker C: Haven't you been to the shadow file, boss. [00:28:04] Speaker B: It's the worst. It's the worst. [00:28:06] Speaker A: It's a joke. [00:28:06] Speaker C: It wasn't great. [00:28:07] Speaker B: No. And it's kind of smelly too. Like, it, it's just smells like, smells just different. [00:28:15] Speaker C: Yeah, it's like always stale and, and muggy. Don't get me wrong, I love a rainy day, but there's something. There's something evil about the smells. [00:28:23] Speaker A: Canon cannon. [00:28:27] Speaker B: Okay. Cool. All right. [00:28:30] Speaker C: But I mean, I want you to. [00:28:31] Speaker A: Know how to do that. [00:28:32] Speaker B: I was just curious. [00:28:34] Speaker C: Yeah, no, I, I, I still, as much as it's cool to. I mean, you stopped and saw your parents and family and. I mean, as much as you would love to just forget everything that happened and stay, I mean, don't you feel that you have, like, a responsibility? [00:29:00] Speaker B: Uh, yeah. [00:29:03] Speaker C: I mean, if not even for the world, but for your people. [00:29:08] Speaker B: Yeah. You know, I told him I would, so. [00:29:12] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:29:16] Speaker B: Guess I gotta do it. [00:29:19] Speaker C: Yeah. But, But I, I say we can. I, I think it'd be good for us to, you know, rest up for the few days and not cast any magic, not, you know, risk that going back to the anywhere. But I think this is a nice little, Nice little pit stop. [00:29:43] Speaker B: Nice. [00:29:49] Speaker C: And then she turns around and she throws it at Craig and then whistles for it back as it goes by his head. [00:29:58] Speaker A: Okay, give me. Roll the hit. Row. [00:30:01] Speaker C: No, I wasn't trying to hit him. [00:30:03] Speaker A: Row. Roll the hit to correctly control where it goes. [00:30:07] Speaker C: Like, I wasn't trying to. [00:30:09] Speaker A: It'll, It'll go bad if you miss, not if you hit. [00:30:12] Speaker C: Wait. Okay, has a high ac. [00:30:15] Speaker B: Ro. [00:30:15] Speaker C: How do I roll to hit? Let me see. What do I do here? [00:30:19] Speaker A: You're not trying to beat his ac. You're just trying to beat a basic DC of control. [00:30:23] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:30:24] Speaker B: Isn't it dexterity? [00:30:26] Speaker C: Is there a role to dexterity? [00:30:29] Speaker A: And you'll be proficient with this weapon. So it's Dex plus Prof. [00:30:36] Speaker C: That's not very good. [00:30:38] Speaker B: Can I, like, notice that she has, like, a look in her eye and, like, try to, like, slap her on the back and guide her as she. [00:30:43] Speaker A: Like, give me, give me an inside check. Give me an inside check. [00:30:52] Speaker C: I hit him. [00:30:54] Speaker B: Hey, Craig, that is a nat 20. Zachary, that is a natural 20. [00:30:59] Speaker A: Crap. What's the total? It's gonna be huge. [00:31:01] Speaker B: The total is, like, 26. [00:31:10] Speaker A: You. Ro. Ro goes. Yeah. After the quiet moment about like, you know, what you all want versus what you feel called to, after the pensive moment, she just turns and steps with the ax in her hand, and you go, oh, I Know exactly what's about to happen. So you reach up and just touch her, and a little bit of the green leaves just spread out. And Ro. You have guidance. You may add it onto your roll. [00:31:28] Speaker C: Okay, well, that's a 13 with guy. [00:31:33] Speaker A: Okay. So you go. How do you say it to get his attention? [00:31:37] Speaker C: I say. I say, Craig, heads up. [00:31:42] Speaker A: Okay. And as you turn around, the accident goes. Craig turns out and goes, what? And he's turning on his sweating from, like, he did a couple extra sets and the axe. I mean. I mean, right? And it's one of those moments where, like, have you ever tossed something to a kid or to a pet and been like, I'm going to throw this near them? And instead you're like, oh, no, it's going at them. And, you know, like, they're not gonna catch that. So it just. And I mean, it goes like 4 inches by his head, and it had a little bit more of an arc than you meant. And he just. And then you, like you. And it comes back to your hand, and he goes, cool. [00:32:32] Speaker B: All right. You owe me. You would have just killed Craig if I had not have done that. [00:32:36] Speaker C: Yeah, thanks for that. [00:32:38] Speaker B: Hey, Craig, what's up? [00:32:39] Speaker A: And then. And then Micah should. In the next session, we're like, hey, Craig died. It was friendly fire on the podcast. [00:32:48] Speaker C: Yeah, I need to practice a little bit more. Rose says as she kind of looks at it and kind of flips it around something. [00:32:55] Speaker A: That would be something. So, I mean, obviously it's not even how the mechanics work in this situation. There'd be something so funny about Rose just killing Craig real quick, early in the morning. [00:33:05] Speaker C: Hey, we have a revivify diamond. We'd bring him back. [00:33:11] Speaker B: Can I. Hey, Zach, Boz wants to do something while we're doing this thing, while we're here for a couple. Are we gonna be here for a few days, you said? [00:33:22] Speaker A: Do you guys want to talk that out real quick? [00:33:25] Speaker B: Are we gonna be here for a few days, Jackie? [00:33:28] Speaker C: I figured we'd at least be here one more night. [00:33:32] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:33:33] Speaker C: Because I figured y'all want to hang out with Jeff too. He's pretty interesting dude. Might tell you how to build something. [00:33:40] Speaker B: Six level spell slots do I have at 11th levels at one? I think it's one. [00:33:44] Speaker C: Should be one. I think. [00:33:45] Speaker A: I do believe it's Juan. [00:33:47] Speaker B: Okay. [00:33:51] Speaker A: Yes. You have the one. Okay. [00:33:55] Speaker B: I want to try to figure out the jar in the heart is what a boss is going to do, but. [00:34:00] Speaker A: I have to go back to the ship to get it. [00:34:02] Speaker B: But I don't know how mechanic that to work. So I want to come back here. I just. [00:34:07] Speaker A: I don't want to be gone. Well, this place is filled with trees. [00:34:11] Speaker B: What if that's where Boz was last night when Ro was meeting her dad is like, he stepped away to the ship to grab it, and then this morning he came back, so we can say that he already had it. [00:34:19] Speaker A: I am completely okay with that. Retcon. That sounds phenomenal. I love that. Okay. Is there anything else from the ship. [00:34:25] Speaker B: That you guys would have wanted me to grab or do, but while I was there? [00:34:29] Speaker C: I don't think I have anything left on the ship. I think I carry all my stuff with me. [00:34:34] Speaker A: Okay. [00:34:35] Speaker B: Probably would have left the plus one chainmail there. I probably would have given it to Plop or Bill Free. I would have let them fight over it. [00:34:41] Speaker A: Could you put a note that it, Landon? Good idea. Yeah. That's an excellent use of that. Otherwise not very helpful island. That's such a good idea. Could you put a note of that in general and, like, at me and you know, like, at Zach dm And. [00:34:57] Speaker B: Then I put how to spell their names. So don't laugh at how I spelled it. [00:35:06] Speaker A: I'll say Plo will take it. I think Bill Free would want it. And I think Ploff would be like, I'm the older sibling. You what? [00:35:15] Speaker B: How do you spell her name? [00:35:17] Speaker A: P, L, A, F, F. But in your defense, I. I spell everything bizarre and weird, so I can understand how you'd be like, how is it possibly. [00:35:26] Speaker C: I thought it was P, L, A. No, I don't know why I thought that. I thought it was pronounced. Let's all. [00:35:35] Speaker A: Let's all. Let's all laugh at Jackie. Yeah. Okay. Excellent. Okay. So do you want to role play out that whole moment of returning to the ship or are you like. I just. I just want to. Let's just. [00:35:47] Speaker B: I would be fine. I just don't want to take away too much time from Jackie and her dad and like, this important moment. [00:35:53] Speaker A: How about this? I mean, I see what you're saying. There's more essential things. How about Boz pops back the interaction and it's just a time of like, you know, you take an hour or two and you debrief with everyone you talk to. Everyone's glad to see you overnight. [00:36:08] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:36:08] Speaker A: Okay. Okay. You slept there. And so Bill Free and Plough have a little bit of whiskey from Yalls last stop in Zedge, so they share some with you and there's just, you know, like there's talking shpagoober drinks some water while you guys drink whiskey. And Nam has a little bit of the whiskey, too. So everybody's drinking whiskey except for Spaghuber, who's drinking a little bit of water. He likes. He likes alcohol, but he only likes light wines. And so you guys are all sitting around, and it's just, like, a lot of recounting. Like, yeah, we met Shelby, and we went to this island, and all this happened. And when you give Ploth the chainmail, she's very appreciative. It's very much, you know, you've developed real relationships with them, and it's very much like it's met with, like, a. Like, she's happy about it, and she smiles, and as she dons it, slowly but surely, she looks very proud of herself, and she. And she looks infinitely more bad to the bone in it than anyone else would have. And it stretches around her muscles, and it kind of, like, magically shifts to accommodate them, and all of her scars show through it, and she puts her, like, her, you know, like, shirt back over it, and it's just. She thanks you for it with just a hand on the shoulder, a squeeze, and a smile. And so you just have light merriment and revelry and recounting with the crew and plenty of jokes and conversations. But Goober wants to know all about Rose, Dad. Yeah. And then at some point, do you. We'll just skip to the point in the evening's roleplay where you would have asked for the jar of heart. [00:37:45] Speaker B: I also want to do a couple. Just a. Just one. A couple more things. [00:37:49] Speaker A: Run down the list, man. Run down the list. [00:37:51] Speaker B: I want to give the. The boot that does the force damage to Nam. [00:37:58] Speaker C: Oh. [00:38:01] Speaker B: Like, I give her. Say, hey, like, if you need someone to. Like, if someone's up in your grill, kick them with this thing and they'll never get in your grill again. [00:38:09] Speaker A: I. No, I'm just responds with them. Wow, boss, I really appreciate this. I'm gonna be honest. I think I'm gonna stay pretty far away from anybody in my grill. [00:38:20] Speaker B: Grills is people. Some people don't care. They just come up in your grill, you know, and, like, you're just like, I was fine with you not being in my grill, but now you're here, so here's the boot. [00:38:32] Speaker A: Well, I mean, I like the way it looks. Bill Free chimes in and goes, you know, if you're handing out gifts. Bowser Claus. The last time somebody came and made the problem on the ship, I was often in people's grills. Is that the sort of thing I might have? [00:38:50] Speaker B: Oh, okay. Okay. Yeah, you can have that. Okay. So if you're okay with that. Nom. I mean, I have some other stuff. [00:38:57] Speaker A: Yeah, sure. And she hands it over to Bill Free. Boz, could you give me an insight check? [00:39:02] Speaker B: Inside. Inside. [00:39:04] Speaker A: So Nam just, you know, gives. She gives. She gives Billfrey that little, like, the purse of the lips white guys do when they see each other. That little, you know, the flattening of the mouth. That's like a flat smile. [00:39:14] Speaker B: 20. That's just a flat 20. [00:39:15] Speaker A: Unnatural 20. She hands it up to Bill Free. He tells it, goes, oh, thanks, little one. And he just takes one of his boots off, starts putting it on, as you notice as it is very, very subtle. But as Nam hands it off to Bilfri, her pupils dilate very slightly, and she blushes in the slightest and hands it off. [00:39:36] Speaker B: And I'm never gonna tell that to any of the fun. [00:39:39] Speaker A: Bilfri seems entirely unawares. So he pulls his boot off and sticks the new one on. He focuses on it for a little bit, tightens it up. He looks really weird in it. It doesn't match what he's wearing at all. And he, like. He tightens it up, and pl's just sitting there picking on him, just going, wow, don't you look like a real epic defender now? It doesn't have magical dork written all over it. And Bill Free just comes over and goes, yeah, you want to try out your new chain mill? And then she goes, all right, I see what you got. And she, like, walks over and, like, low squats in front of him, braces her core, and he picks up his foot and kicks. She just. He kicks her so hard. She does the thing where her, like, her limbs fly in front of her, and she just goes. And she, like, rockets back into the railing and. And then Pil goes, oh, so p. I'm sorry. And he, like, jogs over to her, and she's, like, bleeding a little bit, and she gets up and shoves him. Then they wrestle for a little bit, but, yeah, they've. It looks like the items have gone to the. To the right individuals. [00:40:46] Speaker B: Then I looked down at Ro. Not Ro Nam, and I pull out the brown psychedelic mushrooms. Like, do you want some shrooms instead? [00:40:53] Speaker A: Oh, my goodness, yes. See, Paz, you're on the right trail. I'm gonna save these for when nobody else is around. [00:41:03] Speaker B: It. [00:41:04] Speaker A: Well, I don't know if I want to be talking to Spaghuber when I'm on these you know what I mean? She tucks them away in a little pouch. [00:41:09] Speaker B: All right. I might have a triple crazy psychedelic mushrooms for myself. [00:41:13] Speaker A: Okay, excellent. Gotcha. Gotcha. I love this. This boss. This boss a clause thing that's happening here that he returns to the ship with gifts for everyone. [00:41:24] Speaker B: I don't think I have anything for Spaghuber, and I think he feels bad about it. [00:41:28] Speaker A: Well, you go to Turnish Pagoober, and he's just beaming at you. And he goes, oh, Bows, it's so good to see you again. [00:41:33] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, so good to see you too. I got this for you, and I pull out a diamond, and I say, you should have this. I saw it and I thought of you. I thought of you when I saw it. [00:41:46] Speaker A: What is your rock? Pause. [00:41:48] Speaker B: It's. It's a. It's a revivify diamond. [00:41:52] Speaker A: Okay. [00:41:53] Speaker C: How many do you have? [00:41:54] Speaker A: So out of social awkwardness, as you hand a revivify a diamond to spaghetti, he goes, wow, Buzz. Oh, my goodness. Now I know why people like proposals. Wow, look at this rock. And he just picks it up and goes, baz, this is so sweet. Thank you. This thing's huge. I'll get it put in something like a necklace. [00:42:20] Speaker B: Yes, you should. [00:42:22] Speaker A: He starts tearing up, and he goes, wow, this really means a lot. And he just walks up and hugs your waist really hard and squeezes you. [00:42:31] Speaker C: And I was, yeah, go ahead, go ahead. [00:42:35] Speaker A: He's just softly. Good. And you're my adventures, and I just love being your cap man. [00:42:42] Speaker B: And we love you too, man. You're our. You're the reason we're all here together. So, you know, that's why you don't have a heart of gold. You have a heart of diamond. And so I have removed one of all the things that I've mentioned all the things that I've mentioned from my. [00:43:03] Speaker C: I was gonna say if. If Ro knew that Boz was heading out, she might have given him the. Because she has a lot of stuff in her pack. She might have given him. [00:43:15] Speaker B: I would have asked for stuff. I would have just left. I would have told him, hey, I'm giving this stuff. [00:43:19] Speaker C: Yeah, well, then I like if Zack's cool with me retroactively doing this. Like, I would have given. I would have given you the snuggle arrow and been like, this is a sha Goober item for sure. You should totally. If he wants it, he can have it. Tell him I don't want the bad guys hugging me that much, so you can have it. [00:43:44] Speaker B: I would give him the snuggle arrow as well. [00:43:47] Speaker A: You give him a revivify diamond and a snuggle arrow. Excellent. He takes both gladly. So at some point, Spaghra is done joyfully crying and hugging. You, boss? [00:44:04] Speaker B: Yeah, no, I'm gonna have to come. I'm actually. I tell them that I'm here to, like, see you guys and say hi, but I'm also here to grab something. But I'm gonna have to bring this something back to the ship eventually. So if anybody wants to come with me to, like, meet Rose dad and stay with us for like a day or two, they're welcome to come with me. They can spit. Like, if n wants to come see the lost lands, then or no. Zachary has not prepared for this. [00:44:29] Speaker A: I mean, Nam just goes. Nam goes. I mean, that's cute, but I don't. I've heard about Yalls adventures. I'm good. [00:44:35] Speaker B: This is chill. This is like beachside. [00:44:37] Speaker C: Like, there's no one here. [00:44:40] Speaker A: He goes, yeah, I think I know better. And then Bilfrey and Plough kind of look at each other and shrug and like, they, like, whisper back and forth to each other. And then you watch them play boulder parchment shears with each other. And you put together that they're deciding who gets to go because someone has to stay in and guard the ship. And Beaufrey goes, Shoves Plough and she just spits at him. He goes, well, I'm down. I'm going, yeah, all right, we'll have. [00:45:15] Speaker B: Fun with that boot. Because I pull out the brooch of shielding and say, this makes it to where the boot doesn't hurt me, but you can kick me as far as you want. [00:45:23] Speaker A: So I'm done. [00:45:25] Speaker B: I'm down. All right. So I pick up the jar of heart, and this is the next day. Okay, we've all slept, I guess, because I. [00:45:32] Speaker A: Okay, you go to bed at some point, you wake up the next day, and boss, you pull back out that significantly large glass vial capt at either end with the metal, and there is that. That beating heart just suspended in the fluid. Whoever has this heart, good resting heart rate, good cardio. But you, you pick it up and there it is. The strange item from so long ago. All right. [00:45:59] Speaker B: And then I. Everybody hug goodbye. Has a way to contact us. He can cast sending right or no. [00:46:09] Speaker A: Holds up his little stone and shakes and goes, I can be in contact. [00:46:12] Speaker B: All right, if anything happens, just give us a call of cars. [00:46:16] Speaker A: Go have fun, belfry. [00:46:18] Speaker B: All right, feel free. Let's go. And I cast into the tree real fast. [00:46:23] Speaker A: Oh, and the tree splits up and going like, oh. And he rushes through. [00:46:27] Speaker B: Now, imagine the thing that just happened with Craig's head. But Bill Frey is also there watching it happen. And we're all there together. [00:46:33] Speaker A: You guys come back out to Ro throwing the axe in Bill Free going, I like it here already. And so now Bill Free is also there with the party. [00:46:42] Speaker C: Heck, yeah. [00:46:45] Speaker A: And you guys are all there. And there are exchanges and hellos, and Bill Free sees Craig, and Craig starts doing a second workout with Bill Free because he has to prove how tough he is. And so now Bill Free and Craig are doing squats, and the rest of the party is reconvened. [00:47:02] Speaker C: Nice. What time is it now? [00:47:06] Speaker A: By this point, 8:45am okay. And then you go show Boz the ax. Jath is still not up. Occurs to you that, like, you know. [00:47:17] Speaker C: Why do you need to get up early if. [00:47:19] Speaker A: Yeah. Well, an ancient bachelor on an island of perfect peace with no job. He probably gets up pretty late. [00:47:26] Speaker C: Yeah. Whatever he wants to. [00:47:29] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:47:36] Speaker C: I'm going to ask. Balls. Do you have. Do you have. Do you have good Barry prepared, or are you looking at being another ostrich or some other weird bird today? Because if not, I'm gonna go look for some food. [00:47:50] Speaker B: Now you gotta scavenge. I'm sorry. I was gonna make an egg. [00:47:53] Speaker C: Yeah, I don't want that. Okay. [00:47:55] Speaker B: I know you don't. Have fun in the forest. [00:47:59] Speaker C: That gave. Have fun storming the castle energy. [00:48:02] Speaker A: Have fun storming the castle. So Boz Tello and Bill Free eat a Bostrich egg. And I'll say that Craig, Greta, and Ro have gone out into the forest to forage for food. What does that look like, Ro? [00:48:21] Speaker C: I think I probably turn into my little fruit bat that I turn into. [00:48:26] Speaker A: Okay. [00:48:26] Speaker C: And I'm kind of like, I'm not going too high up, but I'm like, I'm flying more near Craig and Greta, but I'm, like, looking around and, like, you know, in a bat way of bat. Oh, you're muted, Zachary. [00:48:45] Speaker A: Yes, in a bat way. Excellent. So as you transform into the bat, have you already attuned to Songsplitter rather than Ravena's Lunar? [00:48:53] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:48:53] Speaker A: Okay. It's interesting because it sounds different. Not totally, but. So Ravenna's lute can, you know, can be enchanted to sound like any other instrument, and so you can get it to have a ton of qualities, but on its own, it's just very tonal and open and mellifluous. It just sounds like an excellently crafted instrument of Its own make. Songsplitter is very flat, very muted. It has an acoustic sound. And the only way in which it sounds very sort of electric is that it, like, all of its notes have a very slight distortion to it, as if it's kind of a little rockish. And as you like, away on it, you disappear into purple and dark purple magic. And as the smoke billows away, you are the big flying fox fruit bat. And as you around and Craig and Greta are just. Well, Craig's left mumbling about how just a big stupid egg, and then Greta's searching around, just going, enjoying all the foreign fauna, Fighting every impulse to take notes before we do anything. Ro, could you roll me a D100 after you cast Polymorph? [00:50:01] Speaker C: Cute fire. Save the matches. Why did I do that? [00:50:05] Speaker A: Jackie, all I have to say is I'm thankful for a player like you who always helps me keep this mechanic going. [00:50:14] Speaker C: This is what I was saying. Like, Ro really relies so heavily on magic, she forgets. [00:50:20] Speaker A: I like it. It feels very character driven. I like it. [00:50:23] Speaker C: 24. [00:50:24] Speaker A: 24. I was hoping it was a 94, but I'll take 24. Could you roll? Oh, no, I did not. Could you roll a D12 for me? [00:50:35] Speaker C: No, I don't think I want. [00:50:37] Speaker A: This is a wild one. I'm not trying to. I'm not trying to pat myself on the back, But I did a good job on this list. [00:50:45] Speaker C: That's a one. [00:50:48] Speaker A: Okay, for the next day. This mixed benefit remains for one day. For the next day, you have darkvision. [00:50:58] Speaker C: Oh, cool. [00:50:59] Speaker A: But you also become largely colorblind. [00:51:02] Speaker C: I'm sorry, what? [00:51:04] Speaker A: So for the next day, your vision is monochromatic, but you have dark vision. [00:51:08] Speaker C: Okay, interesting. [00:51:13] Speaker A: So you turn into a bat. [00:51:15] Speaker C: Even as a bat, all of a. [00:51:16] Speaker A: Sudden, as you turn into a bat, your whole world goes black and white, and you're just like, oh. And your little bat head, you're like, that's not the way that used to be, but you're a bat. And give me an investigation. Check for fruits or survival. Your pick and take it at advantage because you're a fruit bat. [00:51:34] Speaker C: Okay, that's gonna be a 17. [00:51:45] Speaker A: Okay, give me just one second. Okay. So you fly around rat. And you find. That made me think of summer camp. Summer camp. You fly around and you find you find these weird, like, hexagonal fruits. Not like they're in the shape of a hexagon, but they have a central mass. And then it's like a berry, only it's the size of an apple. And Each additional bulbous map coming, mass coming off of it smooth and like almost kind of glossy or waxy to its texture. Has six lumps and they are a bright bubblegum hot pink. And where the lumps come together, there are little red dark indentations of magenta. Yeah, true. You see a lumpy grayscale apple sized berry, which to you at this size as a fruit bat is like a prize winning pumpkin size. So you land on the branch and you see it in front of you. It smells sweet. [00:52:53] Speaker C: Can I do a nature check to see if it's okay to eat? Or would I know? Like, would I not know? Here's the thing about no matter what. Oh, that's right, Polymorph. [00:53:03] Speaker A: You gain the intelligence of the animal you turn into. [00:53:06] Speaker C: Yeah, that's right. I guess I'll. Since I found it. Since I found something. Like I'd say we were looking for a little bit. I probably. Un. Unshape. Unpolymorph. [00:53:18] Speaker A: Okay. As you transform out. Oh, still black and white. Everything's still black and white. Oh, great. This must be another lost lands thing. [00:53:28] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:53:29] Speaker A: But the fruit smells sweet and pleasant. [00:53:33] Speaker C: I'm gonna grab a bunch and tell Greta to grab some and all. And let's take them back and ask Boz if these are okay to eat because he knows things better. Here. [00:53:46] Speaker A: They're about the size of an apple, varying between individual fruits. Somewhere between Red Delicious and Big Fujis, depending on which ones you pluck. How many do you gather? There's quite a few. They're growing on these tall columnar bushes everywhere. [00:54:04] Speaker C: I'm going to say I grab five or six. [00:54:06] Speaker A: Okay. Greta grabs seven. Well, second, Craig Greg's four. You guys trudge back. When you do, Boz and Bill Free and Tello are eating Bostrich egg, about which Bill Free couldn't seem to care less. And Tello still seems to have a mixed inner storm of emotions about eating an egg from Boz really trying to trust his buddy. And you guys have. Have returned with your fruits. Now Landon has stepped away. [00:54:40] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:54:43] Speaker A: So Boz is too absorbed in his egg and not listening. [00:54:49] Speaker C: That makes sense. [00:54:49] Speaker A: It's just up to you on what you do with the fruit. What do you do? [00:54:53] Speaker C: I sniff it. [00:54:59] Speaker A: Sorry. I hit the runaway grab. [00:55:01] Speaker C: That's okay. Can I retroactively. It's just from us standing there when I was there, like do a little nature check or something to see if I saw any like signs of animals or something had eaten on this. Had eaten on this plant. [00:55:25] Speaker A: Ooh, yes. Give me this feels like a survival check. [00:55:29] Speaker C: Okay, that's gonna be an 18. [00:55:35] Speaker A: I like that. That's very clever with an 18. Oh, I didn't put your last check. 18. You find two interesting points. There are a bunch of pits laying on the ground near the bushes. They look. There are these highly like. They look like bark ring bark. Like, they're like. They're kind of. You know what? They're a lot like pomegranate pits, but much larger. And they sort of have four lobes to them, two halves, and they're all over the ground. And you notice that a lot of those trees nearby have those dragonoids, those leaf dragonoids that you guys learned about here on the island. They must be herbivorous. You bet. They eat these fruits. And so it looks like other animals have eaten that. You've also noticed on a couple you've brought back that there are little, like, kind of gray spots. You'll see at them. They're like little, like, bored holes in the fruit, unlike two or three of the fruits you brought back. [00:56:41] Speaker C: Okay, I'm gonna take a little nibble. I'm gonna risk it since Boz is not paying attention and Jaff is on the path. [00:56:54] Speaker A: A bite, and the skin breaks, and the soft flesh of the fruit meets your mouth. And right as you take the bite, the front of the tree opens up, and your dad comes walking up. Oh, to his late morning. He just looks at you as you're taking the bite, and you sort of. And as you look at him and take the bite, it very much pops under your teeth. It is very, very. It is more filled with juice than a watermelon. Very, very filled with juice. And it's got a very spongy texture inside. But the sponginess, like, gives way quickly, so it has. Has resistance and density. But once you put it under a certain amount of pressure, it, like, breaks and gives out. And it's kind of like. It's like the structure of a watermelon inside with the texture of a kiwi. Sort of glossy, almost sort of like smooth, waxy texture. And as you bite into it, the juice runs all across your mouth and down your jaw. And it is so very, very, very, very. It has to be the single sweetest fruit you've ever tasted in your life. It's like. It's like sugar cane sweet. It's so very sweet. [00:58:18] Speaker C: Ro loves that. [00:58:20] Speaker A: It could not be more like sucrose. And could you. Could you give me an odds or evens? Odds. Okay. All right. Excellent. Tell me what I roll it's incredibly sweet. And you know what I get? I best. I, I. The way I'm gonna describe it is it's kind of vaguely the flavor. It's like a slightly more watered down, overall, like, flavor. Flavor palette than a strawberry. So sort of a very mild strawberry taste, but the sweetness just taken up to, like, past a watermelon and sweetness. [00:59:05] Speaker C: So Ro, once. Ro takes one bite, she. She starts eating the whole thing, and then she waves at chat. [00:59:14] Speaker A: Next thing, you get a big surprise on his face. And he just smiles and nods. And as he kind of saunters, everyone smiles at everybody. He's wearing a different robe today than yesterday, but still loose and still sufficiently kept. He's not a dapper man. And as he walks over, waving his mossy locks, bouncing back and forth, he just goes, I see you found your mom. Loved those. [00:59:38] Speaker C: What are these? She's, like, chewing. [00:59:41] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:59:42] Speaker C: Excuse me, sorry. What are these? [00:59:47] Speaker A: And job is jab, but like an accent on the a. A Job fruit. Those are job fruits. They're good. [00:59:56] Speaker C: They're so sweet. You can make. You could make an incredible pie or pastry out of these. [01:00:03] Speaker A: I don't know what a pie is, but it sounds good. I feel you. Good morning. Oh, good. [01:00:11] Speaker C: Good morning. [01:00:12] Speaker A: Sorry I'll get up so early. I wasn't anticipating. [01:00:15] Speaker C: No, it's. Sorry. I hope we didn't. I hope we didn't wake you or disturb you. We're just used to obviously getting up early. [01:00:25] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:00:25] Speaker C: I guess you're the nature of the. [01:00:27] Speaker A: Business, I guess, about business adventures. Sure. Yeah. Yeah. Well, so. And hello again. Every. Oh, there's a new guy, and he looks around to the party and smiles and waves. And the buffer is like, hello. Hi, Jath. Where'd you. Did you also travel to this island? [01:00:46] Speaker C: And then he goes, no, no, no. [01:00:47] Speaker A: I'm the crew. Me. I'm with these guys. [01:00:49] Speaker C: Yeah, he was on our. Our ship. Balls had to go grab something. So balls treed over, got him, came back on a tree. [01:01:00] Speaker A: Jeff nods, looking impressed and goes, wow, you're like a really powerful druid. All right. Okay. Well, good to meet you. Alfrey Billfrey just goes, yep, good to meet you too. You're always dead. Yeah. He goes, yeah. As I've learned rather recently. He goes, nice. He just. That's just like, thank you. Okay, well, so what are you kids up to? [01:01:39] Speaker C: I've been practicing with this. And Ro holds up a song splinter. [01:01:45] Speaker A: Contain the smile that cracks across his face. And Ro, you watch him filled with a look of pride. For a second, he Goes, yeah, she handles nice, doesn't she? [01:01:57] Speaker C: She really does. I. Yeah. I'm getting a little used to the. To the throwing. And she kind of glances over at Craig real quick. [01:02:06] Speaker A: And then back in a very Micah moment, Craig just goes. [01:02:11] Speaker C: But, yeah, I. I mean, we don't want to get in the way of, like, your plans or anything for the day. [01:02:19] Speaker A: Yeah. You know. And he just looks around at the empty waterfall, the idyllic scenery of nature. He goes, pretty busy guy. [01:02:28] Speaker C: If there's anything we can help you with or. [01:02:32] Speaker A: No, just. [01:02:34] Speaker C: Okay. [01:02:35] Speaker A: I mean, I'm excited to have you here. I enjoy your company. [01:02:40] Speaker C: Yeah, we're. Thank you again for letting us crash here for a little bit. [01:02:45] Speaker A: Of course. I mean, your family. These are your friends. They're certainly welcome. [01:02:53] Speaker C: Thank you. [01:02:54] Speaker A: Are you. Are you leaving? [01:03:02] Speaker C: Probably in a day or two, if that's all right. We got a. [01:03:08] Speaker A: Sure. Yeah. [01:03:09] Speaker C: He motions to buy. [01:03:11] Speaker B: Unless something comes up. [01:03:15] Speaker C: What island did you say we have to go to next, Bols? [01:03:20] Speaker B: And I say it the right way. [01:03:21] Speaker A: Exactly. Boz is clearly Kurftanant Alamulath. No. Or Kurftanant Alamuloth. You guys are on Foo Fumph. [01:03:28] Speaker C: Oh, okay. [01:03:29] Speaker A: You're headed to Kurftan, to Lamuloth, where the Bewildering keep is in search of the book of many Secrets. [01:03:40] Speaker C: Boz. Do you say that to him or any. What all do you. What all information do you. [01:03:45] Speaker B: I tell him I'm pretty open. Like, I. Like, this is. This is one of my people. [01:03:49] Speaker A: I tell him, his dense, mossy brows raised, and he goes, oh, wow. All right. You're going after the Bewildering Creep. You're going after Kirfton, Longueuil, Bedridden. [01:04:00] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:04:01] Speaker A: Oh, y'all really don't mess around. [01:04:04] Speaker B: Y'all look to not. We're not, like, we're not friends, but he's. He's pretty cool. I'm hoping he's home. No, but I've seen him, like, four or five times. [01:04:18] Speaker A: Wow. Goodness. You really are one of the Jeep roots. That's crazy. Well, shoot, fire, save the matches. [01:04:33] Speaker C: Why say that? [01:04:37] Speaker A: That's a wild coincidence. I didn't know your mom would pick that up from me. Well, I guess I picked it up from her. I don't really know what a match is still, but. All right. So, y'all. You'll be here a day or two? [01:04:52] Speaker B: Yeah, we'll be here a couple days. [01:04:54] Speaker A: And I'd love everyone with you. I could get. [01:04:57] Speaker B: If. When we leave, I. I assume we're probably gonna have to swing back this way on our way back to the main island or if you don't, in like a. Like a week after we leave maybe to like, let my family on the island know or somebody. I don't know, just something. I don't know that I meant. [01:05:16] Speaker A: Zach have a way of doing that, but. [01:05:18] Speaker B: Oh. [01:05:19] Speaker A: If anybody passes through, I'd say something for sure. [01:05:22] Speaker B: That makes sense. [01:05:24] Speaker A: Yeah. Sorry I'm not quite the accomplished caster. I can make you a flower. [01:05:34] Speaker B: Okay. No, yeah, that's fine. That's fine. [01:05:38] Speaker A: I can make the tree open and close. I can work with plants quite a bit. [01:05:41] Speaker B: Okay. Okay. It'll be. It'll be fine. [01:05:47] Speaker A: Yeah, you guys seem capable. That guy's. Both of them are real buff. And he points at Ploth and Craig. Craig just kind of smiles like, yeah, yeah. [01:06:01] Speaker C: I can. I can. [01:06:05] Speaker A: Bro. Holds up her arm and flexes. And there's the tiny, tiniest little indentation of muscle anyways. Wow. That's really good. [01:06:13] Speaker C: I make up for it in music. [01:06:19] Speaker A: Push ups are hard where it's worth. Your mom wasn't the biggest athlete either. It's okay. [01:06:24] Speaker C: Yeah, I heard that Some of us. [01:06:27] Speaker A: Some of us are. Are lovers, not fighters. And that's all right. [01:06:37] Speaker C: The island. Speaking of, like, you know, being better at the. The magic part over the brawn part. I know it's like a fun little lost lands thing, but why every time I cast a spell, does everything go crazy? [01:07:03] Speaker A: I. I've met two or three outworlders who've come around here on the island and run into that basically, you're just not. The arcana around here all comes from Ogba, so the magic's all. It's a little less contained, a little more straight from the tap, if you will use that expression. A little more straight from the stream, if you will. And it takes your body, your. Your magical soul. I guess. I. Again, I'm not a caster. It takes time to get used to it. Give it a year or two and it'll quit doing that. [01:07:40] Speaker C: Oh, wow. Yeah. Right now I. I'm not seeing. I'm not seeing colors, and I think it's. I think it's. [01:07:47] Speaker A: Sorry about that. [01:07:49] Speaker C: It's okay. It. It should come back sometime, hopefully. [01:07:52] Speaker A: Yes. [01:07:52] Speaker B: Lando, since I've lived here for my entire life, would I. Could I have advantage on checks to, like, accumulate to the magic faster or something? Or does that just like. Nah. [01:08:04] Speaker A: No, I like it. You have advantage on your. You as you reacclimate again. I mean, you've. You've kind of un. You've become unaccustomed to it. But as you're re. Acclimating. Yes. From here on, you can have advantage. You can roll twice and take the preferred of the two rolls. I love that. That's a great job justification. [01:08:21] Speaker C: That's smart. [01:08:22] Speaker B: I also gotten better results most of the time, so I think that makes sense. [01:08:27] Speaker A: Yeah. I mean, you're pretty golden. [01:08:30] Speaker C: Better knock on wood right now, bro. Don't want to be rolling no 15. [01:08:39] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:08:43] Speaker B: Zach, I sent you a co. Another question. [01:08:45] Speaker A: Yes. Sorry. [01:08:47] Speaker B: Oh, it's okay. I just. It's gonna affect what I do next, so I'm trying. [01:08:50] Speaker A: Sure, sure. [01:08:51] Speaker B: We haven't talked about it at all. Ro. You're not. [01:08:59] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:08:59] Speaker B: Are you. You're not blue anymore, which is nice. [01:09:02] Speaker C: Yeah, it was blue and she was. [01:09:04] Speaker B: Quite party a couple days ago. [01:09:07] Speaker A: Oh, well, that's okay. [01:09:08] Speaker C: So due to the magic. I just want to point that out. And I was blue and I had a beard a couple days ago. And I found myself in the shadow fellow a few days before that. [01:09:18] Speaker A: Okay. I don't know what all that means, but I'm sorry about all that. [01:09:20] Speaker C: It's okay. I just need to remind myself because I. I have a tendency to. [01:09:26] Speaker A: Hey, what you got there, bud? And Jeff looks at the beating heart in the jar in boss's hands. [01:09:34] Speaker B: This is the source of all my problems. [01:09:37] Speaker C: I. I wouldn't say that. Balls. [01:09:39] Speaker B: Well, it's from M. Score, so. [01:09:41] Speaker C: Yeah, it's a weird little thing. [01:09:44] Speaker B: She's mean. I'm trying to figure out what it is. I don't know whose heart it is, but apparently it's, like, weird and powerful. Yeah, it's beating, it's pumping something. I don't know to who, though. I'm trying to. [01:09:56] Speaker C: You don't know anyone that's lost a heart around here that's still alive. [01:10:03] Speaker B: I'll watch his name. I was gonna make a funny joke and I forgot the guy's name. [01:10:10] Speaker A: Well, good one, Landon. [01:10:13] Speaker B: Thanks for giving us a joke benefit out. [01:10:16] Speaker A: Nope. Sorry, I. I didn't know people could lose hearts. Y'all are really into it, huh? You got a lot going on there. Well, I mean, I was hoping that maybe. And he pulls out, like, a little woodwind pan flute and he goes, you could just kind of jam a little bit or. [01:10:40] Speaker C: I would absolutely love to. [01:10:44] Speaker B: Y'all do that. I gotta go find a place to stare at this thing for a day or so. [01:10:48] Speaker C: A day? Balls. [01:10:49] Speaker A: Okay. [01:10:50] Speaker B: Do you have, like, any, like, caves on the cliff or some, like, Solitary places where you can, like, feel chill and like, think about stuff. [01:10:59] Speaker A: I. At the bottom of this waterfall where the water comes back around, there's a big flat rock kind of behind it. Get lost in the noise of it all. I like going down there sometimes if I want to think real hard. [01:11:10] Speaker B: All right. [01:11:10] Speaker A: Or not at all. [01:11:11] Speaker B: Zachary, is this like on the level with the ocean, like in the water or. [01:11:15] Speaker A: No, no, the cliff does not just drop off into the, like it's. It's more island. It's miles more mile. And ahead, like, this waterfall just drops into another pool of water that continues down into more forest. More of the, like willow forest. [01:11:27] Speaker B: Makes sense. Okay. Do you have any alcohol? [01:11:32] Speaker A: Well, you can ferment the job fruits, but I haven't in a while. I've run out. [01:11:39] Speaker B: All right, all right. [01:11:40] Speaker A: No worries, no worries. All right. [01:11:41] Speaker B: I'm just thinking. [01:11:42] Speaker A: I heard from a. From a flumph that the other fellow who was on the other side of the island was making plenty. [01:11:47] Speaker B: But I got some and I hold up a jar of his. [01:11:52] Speaker A: Cool. Yeah. [01:11:53] Speaker B: Nice, Nice. [01:11:54] Speaker A: All right. [01:11:55] Speaker B: All right. [01:11:55] Speaker A: Well, y'all have a good luck heart in a jar. [01:11:59] Speaker B: Thanks. [01:12:02] Speaker A: All right. [01:12:03] Speaker B: Nice to meet you. I'll see you later. [01:12:06] Speaker A: Yeah. No. Yep. Okay. [01:12:08] Speaker B: If I'm not here this time tomorrow, come check out that place. See if I'm still there. [01:12:13] Speaker A: Okay. You keep saying that. You're a pretty ominous dude there, boss. [01:12:15] Speaker C: He does that a lot. He just disappears. I don't do that a lot. You do it a lot. A little bit, boss. [01:12:21] Speaker B: Never disappeared. Based on my own choice. That has never been my choice to just leave. [01:12:25] Speaker C: Actually, you did one time you ran off. She kind of looks down, looks at Tello. [01:12:37] Speaker B: Just shrugs like has taken me every single time. Well, no one was his ex girlfriend and the other two were him. [01:12:48] Speaker C: I want to say we all stand and just stare. [01:12:51] Speaker A: Jaz just also looks confused. Everybody's just looking at Boz. [01:12:55] Speaker C: Okay, boss. [01:12:57] Speaker A: All right. [01:12:58] Speaker B: All right. [01:13:03] Speaker A: And Boz departs from the group. Boz, you trek down the rock face down toward the bottom of the waterfall. Everybody else just sits around and listens and listens to Jath and Ro just jam. Ro, do you play? Which loot do you play? [01:13:23] Speaker C: I want to say that I play the new one song splitter for a little bit. And then I ask if I can switch. And I'm like, give me a minute to tune to it. And then I play with that one because of, you know, it's being able to. Yeah. And just being able to, like, be anything. Like, I Even say that I try to get, like. Like, I feel like I. I kind of not egg, but, like, let. Kind of get Craig to, like, maybe sing along a little bit because. Because he's, you know, he does enthusiastically, and maybe I. Greta, to, like, hit the. You know, hit a stump or something, like, trying to get, like, the rest of the party to, like, join in. In the. [01:14:16] Speaker A: Greta slaps a rock very ineffectually and very out of rhythm. Not musically gifted individual. Craig, as Micah has canonized, sings enthusiastically and atonally. Bill Free sings along. Holy actual living crap. Bill Free has a good singing voice. It's very bassy and low and full. And he sings along for some of the time. And after he does, he looks very embarrassed each time. He only does it once or twice, and he won't do it again. And you just jam with your dad for, like, so long that you guys have to stop, eat again, and then go back to playing. It's hours of jamming. Yeah. And he plays his pan flute. Then he goes back down and he brings up a flute. He plays that. Then at one point, he takes. [01:15:03] Speaker C: Wait, I can play the flute? [01:15:07] Speaker A: And he switches off and gives you the flute. And then he plays Songsplitter. Oh, this guy plays like, everything. At some point, he brings back up a drum, hands it to Bill Free. Bill Free plays something simple. Later, he takes it back from Bill Free and plays very well on. Oh, he's just like a. Like, he plays, and you're like, well, hundreds of years alone on the island. Yeah. [01:15:24] Speaker C: Does he have a na. Tap? [01:15:31] Speaker A: What was. No, that was from Shylon. Was that from. That wasn't from the Lost Hands. [01:15:36] Speaker C: I thought it was. Why did I think it was? [01:15:38] Speaker A: No, I don't know why. Boz's spider silk harp is from the Lost Lands. The naytap is from Starstrui, I believe. [01:15:45] Speaker C: Oh, that's right. You're right. You're right. But he wouldn't have known about it or anything. [01:15:50] Speaker A: He's not familiar with it. But as you describe it, he gets thrilled by the concept. [01:15:53] Speaker C: Cool. [01:15:54] Speaker A: But, yeah, and he starts, like, kind of, like, mumbling to himself. You get the feeling he's like, oh, I'm gonna try and make that. Yeah. [01:16:01] Speaker C: I like. I, like, ask him to, like. I asked, like, I get out a piece of paper or something and try to, like, sketch, like, a really rough sketch of what I. [01:16:12] Speaker A: He starts, like, taking notes, and. And you realize he starts, like. He starts replicating the drawings, like, repeating them wrong. But also, you're like, oh, no, Those are kind of like, little innovation. Oh, this guy? Yeah. Like, you're like, yeah, a couple centuries of making instruments. This guy's. I mean, if you're watching him, you're like, yeah, this guy's a master at his craft. [01:16:29] Speaker B: He's a Luther. [01:16:32] Speaker A: All right. As you. As you watch the person you've recently discovered to be your father sit there sketching instruments passionately. He's not unhandsome, and he's kind, and he has an air of peace and gentleness. And you just played with him for hours. And as you sit there watching him get so excited and passionate and sketching, you just very much see an older version of who your mother must have fallen in love with. And you watch him be just so excited and happy and. And that's your dad. The thought dawns on you as he sits there and sketches. Not a man of great ambitions. He doesn't seem like the most driven individual in the world in a grand sense, but here, in this private way, in the small of his life, a deeply passionate individual full of joy and appreciation. Lando, could you click your screen on and off again? Your camera's doing funky things for me on my end. That's just on my side. [01:17:41] Speaker C: Yeah, he's frozen. [01:17:43] Speaker A: Yeah. Oh, maybe we've lost connection with him. I was gonna go to Boz next, but there is perchaps a thing that's pingala dingen dang. I really meant that as the transition point in the scene. Should you. [01:18:02] Speaker C: I. As we're waiting. I think every time, like, as he's sketching and stuff, I feel like every few minutes, like, Ro just kind of goes into, like. Just, like, thought, you know, of, like, kind of staring out into space and just thinking, like, this is, like, I guess thinking of, like, what could have been almost if, like, she had grown up with him. Like, what? You know, like, him, you know, teaching her things and stuff like that, and. And her just being able to experience, like, just a little glimpse of his knowledge and, like, him being excited to do something with her and stuff. And I think she just kind of keeps kind of going back to that in her head. But then she, like. But then she, like, comes back to the moment in front of her and is just, like, thankful that she's at least getting to experience it now and kind of just be very. She's very content in this moment right now. [01:19:12] Speaker A: An emotion Ro feels not so all the time. Certainly not at the beginning of the campaign. [01:19:18] Speaker C: Yeah, not all the time, no. [01:19:20] Speaker A: And not only is it a special moment with Your dad. But as you look around just with your whole family blood. Otherwise, Greta is, like, laughing and giggling. There's also this weird moment where you're like, man, Greta is the individual here, closest in age brackets. Jath. They're actually the two with the most in common, but they just, like. They're laughing back and forth to each other. He's, like, drumming on the drum. He's given the sketch back to you. A song has struck up again. He's drumming on the drum, and Greta is, like. She sat down. The drum is sat between them, and they're both drumming on it. And he's drumming correctly, and she's drumming atonally. And he's, like, adjusting to her rhythm, and, like, she's now making a game out of how wrongly she can play. And he's like, like, doing a very, like, jazzy, syncopated rhythms in between to turn her disjointed notes into consistent notes. And Bill Freeze, like, singing along to the Sea of Storms. And he's just billow and bosh and smash and crush. And, like, you know, he's singing that. And Craig singing passionately as well. And not only is his voice not good, he's also getting all the words wrong. And. And the party's just. And Tello's just, like, laughing, rolling, rocking back and forth, laughing, slapping his knee. And you're just there with. You're struck by this moment. Nothing's wrong, and no one's in need, and everyone's just happy together. I really need Landon to come back. I really need to transition to his scene. Well, what else is going on in Ro's mind? Text Lando. Just do some. [01:21:06] Speaker C: Just make sure he's doing okay. Wait, he just said, I'm here. [01:21:10] Speaker B: I'm here. Let's not pause. [01:21:14] Speaker A: You what? [01:21:15] Speaker B: I said, let's not pause. My Internet is a little weird. I'm gonna have video on, but okay, no problem. [01:21:24] Speaker A: Well, so, Boz, you've traveled down the side of the cliff face, worked your way down uneven switchbacks of stones worn by the river. And as you get down to the shoreline, it's not very sandy. It's more bare stone. And the waterfall just comes and crashes apart there and then reforms among the rock beds and returns back to a river that begins to flow down again among the thick forest of the mountain. But in that clear, open area, you trace it back, and the. The cliff face concaves a little bit. And as it goes backward, there is indeed a kind of. It's not a true cave so much as just sort of like an arch of stone. And as you go sit below that, there's a dry patch and the waterfall pounds and scatters all across it. And that white noise overcomes. But because there's that close concave rock face behind it, it also reverberates back on the stone and bounces all around. It's got a very overwhelming effect, but also kind of. It's easy to get lost in the noise of it all. So you're. You're sat down there with the items you brought with you. Is Landon gone again? I fear he is gone again. [01:22:38] Speaker C: Ah, Zeboy. [01:22:40] Speaker A: Ah, Zeboy. Alpha has her face mask on and wants to show you. [01:22:45] Speaker C: You look beautiful. [01:22:48] Speaker D: What did she say? [01:22:49] Speaker A: She said you look beautiful. She said. Oh, thank you. Lando, are you back? [01:23:00] Speaker C: We are having technical difficulties, listeners. I will now be boss. I jump into the ocean. [01:23:11] Speaker A: Okay, well, no's working on his. His end of things. If. If Dolgo was on Love is Blind, who would wind up accepting his proposal? [01:23:30] Speaker C: Out of who? You mean like out of other Yalabrinians? [01:23:35] Speaker A: Yes. Okay, there. Lando, can you hear us? [01:23:39] Speaker B: I can hear you. Can you hear me? [01:23:41] Speaker A: I can hear you. Can you hear us? [01:23:43] Speaker B: Got it. All right. So while I'm still here. I don't know when that's gonna happen again. [01:23:48] Speaker A: We'll just keep playing it by ear. [01:23:51] Speaker B: I cannot search this, Zachary. Is Druid Grove a spell that we cast as a ritual. [01:23:59] Speaker A: Wow. What a good question. I am going to search for that Druid Grove. It does not have the. Hold on. Give me just. It doesn't look like it's a ritual spell. [01:24:21] Speaker B: Got it. No worries. [01:24:23] Speaker A: Does it doesn't appear to be. I think. Yeah, I think you have to expand the slot to do it. [01:24:27] Speaker B: All right. No worries. Boss is going to do something stupid. [01:24:33] Speaker A: Okay. It's been a while. Let's do it. [01:24:36] Speaker B: Boz is going to take out some of the bees and let them fly around a little bit and the flowers. And he's going to sit in the spot that Jath told him about and he is going to pull out that kombucha. The fermented kombucha. [01:24:53] Speaker A: I love where this is going. [01:24:55] Speaker B: Pour it into the dragon egg encrusted. Oh, Alice chalice. [01:25:02] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:25:03] Speaker B: And then chop of one of the blue and white mushrooms and drop it in there and set the jar apart in front of him. [01:25:10] Speaker A: Okay. [01:25:11] Speaker B: And he's gonna drink it. [01:25:17] Speaker A: Thank you, baby. I really appreciate that. I love you. It's just so, so. Video microphone. Lando, as you I can still hear you, boss. Can you hear me? I can hear you. Can you hear me? [01:25:34] Speaker B: Yes. [01:25:36] Speaker A: Excellent. There was a dramatic pause there, and I was like, oh, no, he's gone again. As you sit down on the flat stone, the thundering of the waterfall reverberates all around you and bounces and echoes back and forth. And you put down the apiary, and you, like, lift the little door on the front. And the bees just lazily. And they're orbiting around you smoothly. And they're like blinking lights are buzzing back and forth in the bright shade of the cave. Plenty of sunlight is still getting in through the waterfall, but plenty of it is obscured and dulled in the cave area. And as it all just thunders and bounces around, you take out the chalice, and you pull the cork top off of the kombucha and pour it in. [01:26:23] Speaker B: What boss is thinking is, I want to steep myself. This doesn't make any sense mechanically, but this is what he's thinking. [01:26:31] Speaker A: Sure. Who cares? [01:26:33] Speaker B: I want to steep myself in the magic of the lost lands. Because what he's doing is. I think he's thinking. He's about to ask a question that maybe Yelectonops can't even, like, know the answer to. [01:26:46] Speaker A: Besieging the land itself. Yeah, exactly. Okay. [01:26:49] Speaker B: So. So he's like, so the tea is. Is from the lost lands. The mushroom is from the lost lands. The bees are. [01:26:55] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:26:55] Speaker B: Doing the magic from the lost lands. I don't know. He's trying to, like, sure. [01:26:59] Speaker A: Pull out of the stops. And as you crush the blue and white mushroom and grind it up with a stone and. And dribble it over the kombucha, the powder falls into the kombucha and then sort of sizzles a little bit. A little bit of steam comes up, and you're like, don't know what that was about. But you mix it around in the chalice that reflects with flecks of silver and white. Do you just drink it to its drag? Do you take a sip? How do you approach the fluid there? And how do you imbibe it? [01:27:30] Speaker B: He's sitting. He sits and holds it for a second. And when the bees are in their enclosure, you can't. It's difficult to hear them. [01:27:42] Speaker A: Yes. No sound at all. [01:27:44] Speaker B: He sits there, and he listens to the sound of the water and the sound of their buzzing and the sound of home. And I think he's also trying to prepare an offering of chaos. [01:27:59] Speaker A: I love that mentality. [01:28:00] Speaker B: The lord of chaos, as the staff of the mad prince. And he. He cast the spell, okay. And he asked the question, can you show me who this heart belongs to? And he drinks the whole thing. [01:28:21] Speaker A: Okay. [01:28:21] Speaker B: He only poured, like, a third of the. Of the tea in there. Like, there's still, like, two thirds of it in the. [01:28:26] Speaker A: Of the kombucha. The kombucha. [01:28:27] Speaker B: Alcohol. It's kombucha. You said it was fermented tea. It was kombucha. [01:28:33] Speaker A: Oh, is that what. Kombucha. [01:28:34] Speaker B: Let me write down kombucha. Yeah. [01:28:36] Speaker A: Okay, this is a really embarrassing thing. Okay, well, sometimes. [01:28:40] Speaker C: But it has a slight alcoholic content to it. Just so you know. [01:28:44] Speaker A: I didn't know kombucha was tea. So we're exposing many of the things that doesn't know today. [01:28:50] Speaker C: It has a little bit of alcohol in it. [01:28:52] Speaker A: Oh, it's fortunate. [01:28:54] Speaker B: What does it do? You told me something about that. I don't know if this matters. You do your thing. I'll let you know. [01:29:03] Speaker A: On that right now. Okay, well, actually, you know what? Actually, I do. Hold on. I do know where the fortunate fold notes are. [01:29:09] Speaker B: Is it a fortune bold? Because it sharpens intelligence. [01:29:14] Speaker A: Yeah. Yes. [01:29:17] Speaker B: Something. Some. Some intelligence score. [01:29:22] Speaker A: I have it somewhere in my notes, and now it's just killing me because earlier today I saw it. Make sure I had it marked. I should probably let it go so I could focus on the scene. But now I'm feeling obsessive and I want the answer, but I'm gonna let it go and I'm gonna focus on the scene. So first of all, make a persuasion check for me, as you very much do beseech yelectonanth with this sort of behavior. So make a persuasion check check for me. [01:29:48] Speaker B: I'm gonna burn my inspiration. One of my inspirations. I have two right now. Oh, not good, Zachary. Yeah, I've rolled a one and a seven. [01:30:02] Speaker A: That is tough. [01:30:03] Speaker B: No, no, no, no, no. Do I burn my last inspiration on this or do I take my. I need to burn my last inspiration on this. I need to. I burn my last. [01:30:12] Speaker A: You have double inspiration right now? [01:30:13] Speaker B: Yes, I have double inspiration right now. [01:30:15] Speaker A: Biggity, biggity, biggity bang. I mean, you can if you want. It's a you choice. Okay. [01:30:21] Speaker B: That is an unnatural 20. [01:30:23] Speaker C: Oh, let's go. [01:30:26] Speaker B: 11 plus 9. [01:30:26] Speaker A: As you whisper your many tongued nothings, your rolls for the session are 26, 20, 20. As you wish. Whisper your many tongued nothings, fusing the mad magic with deep magic. You hear some of the many tongued nothings. Whisper back as you sip the fluid. And you get the feeling that you have piqued Yalgadh's interest by doing so. When you roll for your Divination of the Man Prince spell, you get to do it. You get to take. You get to roll twice and take the higher of the two. So you've given yourself advantage on the roll for the spell. [01:30:59] Speaker B: Okay, that's nice. [01:31:01] Speaker A: Yes, very nice. So you have his interest, and so you sip the kombucha. Who zesty? Yes. Very fermented. And it like, kind of burns down your throat. But you drink it to the dredge and you empty the chalice. Go ahead and give me your two rolls. Okay. [01:31:25] Speaker B: D100. [01:31:27] Speaker A: Yes, sir. [01:31:29] Speaker C: Oh, that's right. [01:31:32] Speaker B: That is a 53 on my first one. [01:31:36] Speaker A: Okay. [01:31:40] Speaker B: And an 11 on my second. [01:31:45] Speaker A: Okay. So I take it you're going with the 53? Yes. Okay, let me see. Where. Where's Divination of the Archd? [01:31:56] Speaker B: Okay. Between the 51 and 60. [01:32:05] Speaker A: Visions provide a mix of clarity and obvious. Okay. All right. So pause as you speak and whisper and ask, you know what to. What was your question exactly? To whom does this heart belong? [01:32:24] Speaker B: I said show. Can you show me who this heart belongs to? [01:32:29] Speaker A: Okay. You don't get a direct answer, but you do get. The thundering drumming of the waterfall washes the world out. And you see instead a dark, stony landscape. But everything in front of you is not. It's not like scrying or a dream. It's not clear. It's like a muddled impressionistic painting. Belief of the world. Sort of like a fever dream of sorts. And you see impressions of a stony landscape that leads up to an immense dark shape like a cliff. And atop it you see a grand gray shape, tall, with limbs coming up from it. A building, an edifice squared, rounded. You're unsure. There are towers rising from it. You see how many are there. You struggle. Your mind swims as the bees fly by you in the real world, Boz's mind blares with the sound of their movement, as if their movements in the real world are affecting your vision. And you see three towers. A large one in the middle, three at the sides. The vision blurs. And you look above it. It's a pentagonal castle. And it has three towers inside of its court and one in the middle. And they. They meet each other and they mix. And they meet and they touch. And you just hear a low, grumbling growl in your mind, like little as you think about it, and you just feel two eyes Glaring at you with hate as you think about it. And that's all you get. You don't wake up so much. Nobody could see this, but Boz is at the bottom of the waterfall, just laying down on his side, very awkwardly sprawled with his limbs. The chalice is laying in his hand with the last of the draught spilled out over the stone. Boz is just sprawled and he's just. His tongue is spilled out of his mouth and he's just drooling down the side of his face. Boz, go ahead and roll me in. Odds are even. Oh, no. Actually, first you need to roll me a D100 because you cast a spell. Then you need to roll me a constitution saving throw for the mushroom. [01:35:16] Speaker B: And. [01:35:17] Speaker A: Let me know what you get from each. Are you still there, Lando? [01:35:27] Speaker C: Oh, no. [01:35:28] Speaker A: At what point do you think we lost them? [01:35:29] Speaker C: I know. That's what I was wondering. Like, how much did he hear? Oh, crap. [01:35:41] Speaker A: Okay, well, back up the cliff rose with her family, and there was plenty of instrumentation and playing. You just jam with your dad for a handful of hours. Boz said he'd be gone for some time. [01:35:57] Speaker C: Doing Boz stuff, I like to say. Sorry, go ahead. I didn't mean to interrupt. [01:36:03] Speaker A: Do it. Go. [01:36:04] Speaker C: Okay. [01:36:04] Speaker A: Poop. [01:36:05] Speaker C: I would like to say at one point, when things have, like, died down a bit, you know, and maybe some of the other. Oh, he's back. [01:36:14] Speaker A: He's back. [01:36:16] Speaker B: WI fi is working again, I think. So I should be a little bit more secure. My grubhub will be here in the next five minutes, though. So please don't tell me truly before I get it because I'll need it for comfort. [01:36:26] Speaker C: Your what will be here? [01:36:28] Speaker A: Grubhub. What point did you lose us? [01:36:31] Speaker C: Nice. [01:36:32] Speaker B: I rolled a D100 for the magic. [01:36:35] Speaker A: Right. Okay. Yes. [01:36:37] Speaker B: So I can roll that twice. Let me see. [01:36:39] Speaker C: And you heard that you were knocked out. Or not knocked out, but like your tongue was hanging out of your face and to rolling. [01:36:45] Speaker B: Okay, I got a 12 and a 78. [01:36:49] Speaker A: Okay. With a 12, you would gain the benefits of a spell. A salubrious spell, A helpful spell. You said it was a 12 and a 78. [01:37:02] Speaker B: Yes. [01:37:04] Speaker A: With a 78, you would gain the benefits of a different spell. Man, the world just loves Boss, the lost lands really do like him better than Ro. Basically, you can pick between getting the benefits of Featherfall or the benefits of Detect Magic. [01:37:23] Speaker B: Let's do Detect Magic. Sounds fun to me. [01:37:26] Speaker A: Boz, roll a D4 for me. [01:37:29] Speaker B: All right, that is A1 for the. [01:37:34] Speaker A: Next Day you have the constant unending benefits of the detect magic spell. [01:37:39] Speaker C: Dang. [01:37:41] Speaker A: Pretty killer. But none of that is really. Now give me a con saving throw. [01:37:50] Speaker B: All right, my con save is. Oof. Oof. That's a seven. [01:37:58] Speaker A: Okay, now give me an odds or evens. We're determining how your trip goes. 19. Boz. You go on a very, very, very intense trip. But it's not a bad trip. You go on a good trip. You proceed to have hours and hours and hours of visions. Shpagoober grows many heads and tells you how much he loves you and marries you to a tree. [01:38:33] Speaker C: Oh, that's sweet. [01:38:34] Speaker A: N becomes a giant flying many headed dragon which swallows you. And you are transported to a world where Zoram is a friendly bartender and looks a lot like a bunny. Everyone calls him that. [01:38:49] Speaker B: I want to talk to him. I want to talk to Zoram. [01:38:52] Speaker A: You go and you speak to bunny bartender Zorum. And. And as he opens his mouth, his head divides into many fold colors and just turns into an avalanche of flowers which swallows you up and plunges you beneath the waves. And it is hours of this madness. Hours. And there's a lot of. There's a lot of. Who's the guy who steals the pet sticks? [01:39:17] Speaker B: Glanis Landon. [01:39:18] Speaker A: There's a lot of Clannis Blandon in the vision. A lot of him. He's a recurring character for some reason. And weirdly it. The vision has a ton of your ex wife in it. And at one point you think you see. [01:39:31] Speaker B: Of course it does. I cry when I see her. [01:39:34] Speaker A: At some point you better. At some point you think you see a vision of your entire life if you'd stayed with her instead of going away. Pretty Good. You had 30 kids in your vision. That's not weird. [01:39:52] Speaker B: That's not good. [01:39:53] Speaker A: Well, but in your. In your extremely trippy vision, it's not weird. Also, at some point in your vision, you become pretty convinced that you're Rose dad. And you just trip hard for hours. The kind of tripping where you're tripping so hard you don't really need to get up and walk around. The world is just changing around you. [01:40:10] Speaker B: Do I wake up eventually? [01:40:13] Speaker A: We'll come to that. Ro. [01:40:16] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:40:17] Speaker A: You just took an incredibly, extremely psychic delicate mushroom. You're out for. Roll a D6 for me, boss. Using all the dice in the lost lands. What'd you get? Oh, he's muted his mic. Okay. Anywho. Oh, he's probably getting the grubhub. [01:40:42] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:40:42] Speaker A: Well, we're back up. You're done jamming. [01:40:46] Speaker C: I was going to say when at one point, when people kind of dispersed maybe a little bit. I kind of, like, timidly am like, can I show you some things that I've written? [01:41:08] Speaker A: I'd love to hear it. He's, like, sweating a little bit from playing. Sorry. I'll tell you what, the rest of y'all stay here. Bro and I are gonna go grab some job fruits and some more for dinner, and we'll come back. All right? And everybody waves y'all off. And y'all are permitted to just kind of stroll around the area for a while. As you walk under willows the light filters and dapples over your heads. [01:41:35] Speaker C: I say she has. She has Ravenna's loot now so that she can do all of her sounds and harmonies that she does. And I say she probably plays. She probably plays the Holy Hunters first. It's kind of. It's kind of chill, but dark. [01:42:00] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:42:03] Speaker C: And then she, like, goes into that first one that she ever played. [01:42:09] Speaker A: Oh. [01:42:10] Speaker C: That the fun guys heard. I don't even remember what it's called. [01:42:13] Speaker A: Oh, I don't know. Yeah, whatever it was. [01:42:17] Speaker C: Yeah, it was a real short tune. [01:42:19] Speaker A: The oldie and Goldie. [01:42:21] Speaker C: Yeah. And then she, like, is very, like, hesitant, but she probably, like, finds a stump or something and she's like, this one. This one's a little different. It's about. It's about us, about the. The fun guys. [01:42:46] Speaker A: All right. [01:42:47] Speaker C: And she starts playing dolgo, but she plays like she play because, you know, I did the two versions, so I think she. I think she plays, like, both versions. Like, it, like, just as a fulllength song, like, she. So, like, it's almost like, like a full, like, epic ballad where it, like, tells the whole story. [01:43:15] Speaker A: Heck, yeah. [01:43:16] Speaker C: And she plays. She plays that with all the spook, all the harmony, everything, and just kind of like, can't really even look at him afterwards. Just kind of looks down, and it's. [01:43:27] Speaker A: Like he listens to the first two songs as you guys walk around. [01:43:31] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:43:32] Speaker A: With a big smile on his face. He's a calm man. Much calmer than you. [01:43:38] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:43:38] Speaker A: You didn't get the chill from him, but he's got a big, warm smile. He just looks like he's having the time of his life listening to you play. Especially the second one. He looks very pleased with that. And as you pause to sit down for a while on a rock and play the other two, he just gets very quiet and serious listening to you, and you get the feeling that you're being listened to both by an individual who has suddenly come to care about you quite a bit and feels very proud of you, but also by a very talented musician and songwriter. And there is both. There is a loving interest, but also a critical ear being lent to the second song. He just listens carefully and nods, and when you finish, he just goes, wow, that was. That was really good. I don't think I've ever written anything quite like that. [01:44:44] Speaker C: I hadn't either when I wrote it. [01:44:48] Speaker A: Well, that is the definition of having written something. Not that it matters, but I think you might be better than your mom and I were. [01:45:03] Speaker C: I don't know about that. [01:45:05] Speaker A: I do. That was amazing. You wrote that by yourself. [01:45:14] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:45:17] Speaker A: And you really fought this Dolegooth. [01:45:22] Speaker C: Yeah. You know. Do you know much about the Kefkan, The Kefkan Empire thing? Well, there's like five. [01:45:34] Speaker A: Outside politics don't really get here. [01:45:39] Speaker C: There's like five generals, basically, and Dolgoth was one of them, and we kind of messed up his plans, and then he kind of had. Oh, they were really bad plans. Yeah, they. They. They call him the. They call him the Wandering Death. Right, Zach? [01:46:06] Speaker A: That doesn't sound positive. [01:46:08] Speaker C: Okay. But, yeah, so we kind of messed up his. Some of his plans. We just, like, were at the wrong place or right place, I guess, depending on whose side you're on at the wrong time. And he didn't like that, so he followed us, he tracked us down, and it was kind of an either him or us thing. And luckily we had some help, and there are now no longer five generals. [01:46:46] Speaker A: So y'all are the genuine article. It sounds like a awfully dangerous stuff you're doing. [01:46:57] Speaker C: Yeah, it wasn't. What. I guess doggoth is kind of the reason that I found myself with the rest of the rest of the rest of the guys. I was in. I was in Oonson, and. And when it all happened, I just kind of jumped on their ship with them to get out of Dodge, and we've been traveling together ever since, which has been amazing. And they've become family, but we've been through a lot of it. Things that I didn't anticipate and learned a lot of things. I mean, I always wanted to travel and be a bard, but I didn't know that this was necessarily what I was gonna be doing. I'm not. Not complaining or anything. [01:47:58] Speaker A: So is the journeys we don't mean to take, huh? [01:48:00] Speaker C: Yeah, it's pretty. It's pretty crazy. Some of the things we've seen. And we've seen some amazing things, too. We've been to some wonderful, lovely towns, met some incredible people. People that I never would have met if I hadn't been traveling, even went to a palace, met a king and a princess. [01:48:29] Speaker A: I'm not gonna lie. I don't know what a palace is, but I know what a king is, so. [01:48:32] Speaker C: Oh, like a castle? Like. Yeah, like where he lives. [01:48:36] Speaker A: I also don't know what. Okay, big. [01:48:39] Speaker C: Yeah, big. Very big. Like. Like one room. [01:48:43] Speaker A: Your small island. Dad might not get it all, but it sounds like you're living a pretty incredible life. [01:48:50] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:48:51] Speaker A: The sort of stuff your mom talked about. [01:48:54] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:48:54] Speaker A: Maybe a whole lot more so. [01:48:57] Speaker C: Yeah, maybe so. [01:48:59] Speaker A: I don't know if it matters to you. I hate the idea that you'd have to compete with us. But whatever it's worth, from what you talk about, I think you surpassed her in a lot of ways. It sounds like y'all do some pretty dangerous stuff. [01:49:17] Speaker C: We've. A couple of us, not me, have died and had to be. [01:49:30] Speaker A: Died. [01:49:31] Speaker C: Well, yeah. Greta has died. [01:49:33] Speaker A: There used to be more of you. [01:49:35] Speaker C: No, like, Greta died. [01:49:37] Speaker A: Greta was lady from back there. [01:49:38] Speaker C: Yeah, she died, and we brought her back. And then Craig. [01:49:45] Speaker A: Powerful casters. Oh. [01:49:48] Speaker C: But, yeah, it's. It's a little worrisome. I try to keep. I try to keep, you know, the. The morale. As a bard, I guess I feel like that's my job sometimes to be positive in the fact that everything's gonna. [01:50:10] Speaker A: Work out a row. [01:50:14] Speaker C: But. I don't know, some days it's. It's tough. Balls. Balls. Has his doubts of if we're gonna make it, make it out of all of this, but, you know. [01:50:31] Speaker A: Well, I hate to just pop into a life I barely had any part in, but I hope I get to see more of you after today. [01:50:44] Speaker C: I plan on it. I hope so, too. Like I said, that's the plan. And we have our, you know, certain fail safes and all. I don't know, maybe. I mean, bars can travel back and forth here with the trees. Maybe one day I could. I mean, if it's all right with you, I could come back and, like, I could possibly, like, set up, like, a teleportation circle, and I could come and visit you anytime. [01:51:23] Speaker A: That sounds grand to me. Anytime, night or day. You much of a hugger? [01:51:33] Speaker C: Uh, yeah. Yeah. [01:51:37] Speaker A: And he just gives you a big hug. [01:51:41] Speaker C: Ro. Hu. Hugs him back, like, genuinely like. [01:51:46] Speaker A: And alone where you are in the woods. He just whispers near your ear, I'm glad you came. And Found me. [01:51:54] Speaker C: Me too. [01:51:58] Speaker A: And he lets you go and he says, don't want your friends to be hungry. [01:52:04] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. [01:52:05] Speaker A: He goes around grabbing jab fruits. You guys return back up at the top of the waterfall. Jab fruits or job. Fruits are shared, eaten again. Bill Free loves them. The group chows down. Boss has been gone for about 5 hours. Boss back down below the waterfall. Are you good to hop back in, Linda? Okay. You're muted. [01:52:35] Speaker B: I act good and I told them to check on me tomorrow. [01:52:38] Speaker A: Okay. Back down below the waterfall. You have had. This is really saying something because you've had some life changing experiences. This mental experience is on par with some of the physical experiences you've had. I'm not calling it wellspring intense, but it is. It's almost as intense as a couple of the moments you've almost died in your mind. The experience you've had, you have witnessed and seen. So you feel like you've lived three days of madness in this five hour span. And as you sit there on the floor sprawled out, you start to blink hard. And the room is starting to like. The best way I know how to put it is the way that the colors of an image might dissolve. It's slowly starting to come back together. You feel like your mind basically kind of came apart into pieces and it's starting to just mumble back together. And you have a point of exhaustion which you can get rid of with the next long rest. But right now you are exhausted and you have dry mouth and kind of the munchies and you're a little confused and your mind's washed from everything that happened. But you're blinking hard and starting to come back to it. You have a pulsing headache, but you're coming back from all the visions and you're seeing what is now a waning sunset of light filtering in through the waterfall. [01:54:07] Speaker B: Yeah. I don't know if I knew what I was expecting. [01:54:14] Speaker A: Sure. [01:54:15] Speaker B: But Oz kind of sits down resting his head in his hands. [01:54:22] Speaker A: Okay. [01:54:24] Speaker B: He kind of tears up a little bit. Probably sit there for about 10 to 15 minutes and watch the sunset. Start collecting my things and. [01:54:47] Speaker A: Okay. [01:54:50] Speaker B: Yeah. He pours some more into the cup. [01:54:54] Speaker A: Okay. [01:54:55] Speaker B: And he crushes more of the mushrooms. [01:54:59] Speaker A: Okay. [01:55:00] Speaker B: It's the spell again. [01:55:02] Speaker A: Holy crap. [01:55:05] Speaker B: And he just kind of stares at it with kind of like a soft unformed face. [01:55:12] Speaker A: Okay. [01:55:13] Speaker B: And he just kind of says quietly to himself, why did it have to be me? And he drinks it. [01:55:22] Speaker A: Oh. This time for sips. Still a very intense. [01:55:38] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:55:38] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:55:38] Speaker B: He doesn't down it Heat, flavor. [01:55:41] Speaker A: But as you sip it, it's less startling this time. And as the world starts to kind of swirl around you, do you roll the D100? Is it more for the experience of it all? [01:56:00] Speaker B: Oh, he casts the spell. [01:56:04] Speaker A: Okay, what'd you get on your D100 roll? One second. [01:56:08] Speaker B: Let me. [01:56:09] Speaker A: Or both D100 rolls. [01:56:10] Speaker B: I guess one is a 26. [01:56:14] Speaker A: Okay, is that. We'll call this for the. Let's go with the wild magic condition first. [01:56:19] Speaker B: Oh, and this is a 34. [01:56:21] Speaker A: Okay, so 26 and 34. Tell me which of the two you like better. Abby, we've established that Boz has advantage magic rolls. Oh, because he's from here. Okay, so 26 and 34. So 26 would involve basically a very innocuous, lovely thing happening. So just a very unharmful, loving thing. Holy crap. The lost lands just love you better. And then something else. 34 would involve something negative that would affect only you in a minor way. [01:56:56] Speaker B: Take the positive one. [01:56:58] Speaker A: Okay, so pause. Who only has good experiences in the lost lands. As he casts the spell, a flurry of colorful, illusory fireflies just appear around him. And you smell a sensation of warmth, the scent of pine trees, and just no other effect. And it's just pleasant. Now you can roll for. Oh, shoot. This is very poetic, Boz. With 26, that pleasant illusion happens instead of the spell you were trying to cast. So the spell slot is expended and the illusion happens, but the actual spell isn't cast. And as you sit there, the alcoholic kombucha running warmly down your throat, you feel like you wouldn't have gotten much of an answer anyway. As the world starts to swell into colors and you start heading into another trip, all of the water dances with color in front of you and waves. No, your trip hasn't started yet. All the water that's hitting the stone around you is hitting the stone. And where it would fly up in the mist, it's aerosolizing and lifting and dancing in color. There's just a little bit of first flame around you. Rainbow hues of flame. And for some reason, it kindles up around you for a moment. And then the squirrels start to color and you just close your eyes. The visions take you on the rock. [01:58:49] Speaker B: I'll fall asleep there and go back tomorrow morning. [01:58:52] Speaker A: Absolutely. [01:58:53] Speaker B: Can I take another point? [01:58:56] Speaker A: Well, it depends on the constitution. Saving throw. [01:58:58] Speaker B: No, with the. With the. With that spell. If you cast it more than once in a 24 hour period, you get another point of exhaustion. [01:59:05] Speaker A: Okay. Holy crap. Well, roll another con. Save throw for me for the trip. [01:59:09] Speaker B: That's 16. [01:59:11] Speaker A: Okay. You don't fail this one. So as you fall asleep, you can get rid of one of the points of exhaustion because you long rest. So you'll wake up the next day with one because you had the second one from Kasp, Greta Ro, Craig, Jath Tello, and Bill Free. Bill Free's here, Abby are all up above eating. And the jamming is happening much more lightly now. And people are eating jab fruits. Boz is still not returned, but he said he might be gone a while. And Jath maintains your company speaks gladly with you all at some point retires for the evening, and you guys are left there just to. I always have to change the title of my first session to Weirder Worlds. Doesn't make any sense anymore. I'm gonna have to come up with a new title at some point. Visions and Venerations or something. I don't know. But we'll come up with something. You guys are left to another quiet evening. And a campfire is going by the waterfall that's spilling over the edge. And there's idyllic forest all around you. And you guys are just left to the quiet. Any particulars before the whole group goes to sleep? [02:00:34] Speaker C: No, I'm going to sleep. Sleep. I'm gonna find a nice little grassy patch because I'm not making my bed like I normally do. Wait, if you. Rich. No. Never mind then. No. [02:00:48] Speaker A: Okay. [02:00:52] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. I look up at the stars and the moon and how beautiful it is here. Because it's no light pollution. We're not in a city. City. [02:01:03] Speaker A: You look up at the glorious firmament and the tall willows gently sway around you. I mean, it's very much close to winter here, but a summer breeze sighs over every once in a while because foo foomph is perfectly pleasant. And in the idyllic circumstance, you just drift softly to sleep. [02:01:24] Speaker B: I did leave the bee thing open so they could go back in. [02:01:28] Speaker A: Okay. The bees return. Yeah, absolutely. And they very much stay with you. You know, they stay around you. You are very much their shepherd. [02:01:36] Speaker B: They have no hive. They have to go back to their hive. [02:01:38] Speaker A: Yeah. It's just to you. The long rest passes. There's a night, and there's a following morning. Ro. Craig takes the morning off from the workouts, and you guys just have a kind of lazier morning. When you wake up in the morning, Jath is up before all of you and he has a skillet. He's rekindled your fire and he is frying job fruits in the skillet, and he's also gotten a bunch of other plants and mixed them in. Strikes you. This guy's kind of a vegetarian, and he's just cooking up a bunch of fried fruits and herbs and berries mixed together into kind of like a thick. He's making kind of like a. Like a jamish sort of soup out of it, a pudding. And as he prepares that and starts whipping that up, you wake up to those pleasant smells. Boz is still nowhere to be found. But you guys are awake up there. What that potty do. And we'll end the session. [02:02:45] Speaker C: So I wake up and I. I want to say that I probably woke up to the smell of all the sweet fruit. And. And I'm like, oh, you didn't have to. Did you get up because of us? [02:03:06] Speaker A: Nice to have something to be up for. And. And as you look back at them, oh, the world's in color again. [02:03:14] Speaker C: Oh, yes. [02:03:16] Speaker A: And also, oh, the fruits are bright pink. And now they're turning into like a pink pudding flurry. [02:03:23] Speaker C: I think I feel like Ro probably says to herself, oh, these are hot. [02:03:26] Speaker A: Pink balls are passed around and the food is reportioned and everyone has a bit to eat. Oh, it's delicious now. It's. It's very sweet. Very, very sweet. It's like a. Like a sweet jam. But he's mixed in the herbs. He have, gave it just a little bit of, like, it looks like he added some kind of a salt to contrast the sweet and make it even sweeter. And then some of the herbs give it like a sort of like slightly like kind of a twist of. It tastes a little bit like a cocktail jam now, and minus the alcohol taste. And it's also a little spicy now. He put something hot in it, just a little bit, not a lot. So it's got a lot of different pieces going on to it. You notice Boz is still not at breakfast. [02:04:19] Speaker D: Is there like an excess of the spices? Does he have little jars of them? [02:04:24] Speaker A: He has some pouches at his side that he appears to be pulling them out of. [02:04:28] Speaker D: I'm going to ask if I can like, get little. Just a little bit of each herb? [02:04:37] Speaker A: Sure. You can have a little sampler. They grow all over. I grow them, yeah. [02:04:41] Speaker D: Do you have any seeds? [02:04:43] Speaker A: No. I mean. And he snaps and a little seedling comes up from his finger. I just grow them. Yeah. [02:04:50] Speaker C: Okay. [02:04:51] Speaker A: He plucks it off his finger. [02:04:53] Speaker D: Is it weird if I take some then? I'm sorry, I don't. [02:04:57] Speaker A: I mean, yesterday I saw y'all eat an egg that came out of your friends, so I really don't. [02:05:00] Speaker C: Oh, no, it's too weird here. We didn't eat that. [02:05:03] Speaker A: Okay. [02:05:04] Speaker C: Yeah, but we specifically. Greta and I specifically went to go get fruit as to not eat that. [02:05:10] Speaker A: If you're the good friend of my daughter, I don't see why I wouldn't be glad to share. And he just unhooks each pouch from his belt and just hands them all to you. And he goes, I got more pouches. [02:05:19] Speaker D: Oh, no. [02:05:20] Speaker A: I've. [02:05:20] Speaker D: I pull out little, like, glass tubes. Can I have vials? [02:05:25] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. [02:05:28] Speaker D: And I put, like, just a little bit of the spices in vial. [02:05:33] Speaker A: Okay. [02:05:33] Speaker D: I filled them up maybe, like, halfway. [02:05:36] Speaker A: Okay. You have seven vials of Funfi and spices. [02:05:41] Speaker C: Nice. [02:05:42] Speaker A: Nice. [02:05:44] Speaker D: Heck, yeah. Cool. [02:05:47] Speaker A: It shows you which one makes it spicy, which one savory flavor, which one is a kind of rock salt. He just goes through each of them. [02:05:54] Speaker D: I. I like, don't. I don't write it down, but I do label them. [02:06:00] Speaker A: I love how much Greta is adhering to the. I will not take notes here. [02:06:06] Speaker B: I do. [02:06:07] Speaker D: I do kind of, like, look around for Boz, because I'll probably. I'm wondering if it's also bad for me to spices, but I'll ask him that when he back. [02:06:16] Speaker A: Okay. And Jath just goes, all right, Will, is this your departure day? [02:06:26] Speaker C: I'm not. Well, I'm a little worried about Balls. [02:06:32] Speaker A: Sure. [02:06:33] Speaker C: Maybe I should go check on him. He said if he doesn't come back today that we should maybe worry about him. [02:06:42] Speaker A: I can. I can let you go look for your friend. I'll. I'll take. Fellas, you want to go on a little hike? And Craig's just like, yeah, okay, yeah, obviously, whatnot. And Tello just goes, it's kind of early in the morning, but, I mean. Okay, you say, sorry about that, and let me show you some of the mushroom people. And he just starts hiking up the hill with him. [02:07:08] Speaker D: I look at Ro as are leaving, and I say, do you want me to go with them or come with you? [02:07:13] Speaker C: It's up to you if you want to go. If you want to go with him, I'd rather. That's okay. Okay. Yeah. Maybe I should just go check on him. I don't know how to get. How did Balls get down there? Did we know how Boss went down there? [02:07:28] Speaker A: And then the 11th level adventurers figure out how to walk around the side of the cliff and work and continue the way around the stony bank. And as individuals with months and months and months of natural exploring experience. And as skilled adventurers employed by many abilities. You guys take half an hour and work your way down the cliff face. And, I mean, it's not a strict cliff face. It evens out into just a descent and a climb later. And as you work your way down the fracture in the land, you find the edge bank of the waters that are kind of shimmering in the morning light. And the God raised the filter through the willows. And you work your way behind the roaring waterfall. And Baz is there. His left arm and knee are fetal, and his right arm is kind of up past his head, his right leg extended. He's rolled over onto a side. The chalice. Cuddling the bees. Okay. Cradling the. Yeah, cradling the apiary. And the chalice is rolled away from him with some dried fluid spilled out of it. And you see some crushed little mushroom bits all around. And he's sprawled out there, holding onto the apiary, which is thrumming with the bee colors underneath, with all the bees inside and the door closed. [02:08:43] Speaker C: Hey, Greta, do you have that spicy spice thing? Could I borrow it? [02:08:52] Speaker A: Yeah, sure. [02:08:52] Speaker D: And I hand it over. I think I will. Want to do a medicine check on Boss to see if he's, like, just sleeping or if maybe he's a little zonked out still. [02:09:05] Speaker C: I'm gonna unscrew it and cautiously go up to him and hold it up to his nose. After Greta does her. [02:09:14] Speaker A: Yeah, Greta, you inspect him. Go ahead and give me a medicine check. [02:09:17] Speaker D: Yes. Yes. That is what I would right now. This time. [02:09:22] Speaker A: I never get tired of Abby being like, oh, Dice. [02:09:26] Speaker D: That'll be a 25. [02:09:30] Speaker A: Look at the cleric. Clerican, Greta. His skin looks fine. It's not too flush. His pulse is even, but he definitely still seems dulled. And you notice his breathing is long and shallow. Still having some. There's some latent effects here. Okay, you confirm that he's not dead, and he doesn't look like he's suffering a serious medical moment, but just whatever he did had a toll on him. Ro, you hold the spicy flavor underneath his mouth. There's some breaths, and then pause. Your nose burns, and you're very awake. Dupe Fire. [02:10:12] Speaker B: Save the matches. What the heck is that? [02:10:15] Speaker C: Everyone's using my phrase. Okay, that was a good one. [02:10:22] Speaker A: I was an orphan. [02:10:25] Speaker B: I took fencing at the orphanage. [02:10:28] Speaker C: Orphans don't have to be poor. [02:10:31] Speaker B: I got marked from the head orphan. [02:10:36] Speaker C: Boss. How you doing there? [02:10:40] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm doing pretty good. [02:10:41] Speaker C: She caps it back, hands it to Greta, pause. [02:10:44] Speaker A: As you wake up, your head is. Is. Is pulsing, and you're. You're like. You're awake. You're okay. You sense everything around you, but it's. It's like there is, like, a millisecond delay on everything. Like, every sound and every image is happening, like a millisecond behind when it should. And it's very slightly disorienting. You are still exhausted, and you don't feel amazing. [02:11:08] Speaker B: All right, I'm talking, like, real now, and I don't like it. You can't stop for some reason. [02:11:16] Speaker C: Why are you mimicking me? Balls? [02:11:17] Speaker B: I'm not. I don't mean to talk. [02:11:19] Speaker C: No, you're mimicking me right now. [02:11:21] Speaker A: No. [02:11:21] Speaker B: Maybe this is my new voice. I don't know. I was trying. Oh, my gosh. My head. Oh, my gosh. [02:11:30] Speaker C: She slaps bars. [02:11:32] Speaker A: Boz. When you get slapped. And do you get slapped because the slap happens a moment after you're able to or a moment before you're able to perceive it. So, like, the hand is coming, you feel the sensation of the slap, and then you see the slap coming out of the way. Even after I was hit for a second. [02:11:48] Speaker B: Yeah. [02:11:48] Speaker A: So you get slapped, and then you try and move, and when she slaps you, the slap is light, but it feels like getting decked by Craig because your head is too full. [02:11:57] Speaker B: Compensate. And maybe, like, can I almost, like, trip and fall? Like, trip and fall? [02:12:01] Speaker A: Absolutely. And boss just boom, boom, down to the floor. [02:12:03] Speaker B: I feel waterfall. [02:12:06] Speaker A: Sure, boss. [02:12:07] Speaker C: Oh, no. [02:12:08] Speaker A: Tumbles into the pond. [02:12:10] Speaker D: All right, that's probably awakening. [02:12:15] Speaker A: It is a stark and shocking experience. It sobers you very slightly. [02:12:18] Speaker C: How you doing there? [02:12:21] Speaker B: Soaking wet. [02:12:23] Speaker C: Sorry. Yeah, I'm not gonna press the digitate you because I don't want to go colorblind again. [02:12:31] Speaker B: That's all right. [02:12:32] Speaker C: Or worse, expelled. Sorry. [02:12:38] Speaker B: Restoration on himself. [02:12:40] Speaker A: Okay, now you have to expend a component for that, correct? [02:12:43] Speaker B: Do you have to. And I have three of those components. [02:12:46] Speaker D: I'll look it up. [02:12:48] Speaker A: Gold powder, I believe. No, it's diamond dust powder. [02:12:51] Speaker D: Holy guacamole. [02:12:53] Speaker C: How many diamonds do you have left after you gave one to Espagober? [02:12:58] Speaker A: You don't know? [02:12:59] Speaker D: I think I have one. [02:13:00] Speaker C: I also have one. [02:13:02] Speaker A: Boss gave a revivified diamond to Ship Goober as a consolation gift. [02:13:06] Speaker D: Consolation? What are we consoling him for? [02:13:09] Speaker A: He had gifts for everyone else. So as you whisper in the many tongues and the gold, like, aerosolizes and burns away into, like, rainbow first flame around you, it, like, spreads across you and all Of a sudden, you feel all the condition relieve and you feel full of energy as you're. As you speak of the many tongues and your eyes flash gold. It is an electrifying, excellent sensation. Also, could you roll two D100 for me? [02:13:36] Speaker B: I got a 42 and a 100. I got a 100. [02:13:47] Speaker A: I love you. Got a hundred? [02:13:49] Speaker B: I got 100. [02:13:53] Speaker C: Oh, no. [02:13:58] Speaker A: Okay, Landon, again, you only roll good things with a 42. For the 42, something illusory and comical will happen involving Greta and roe with a 100 something. With a 100 something wild, absolutely wild. And kind of game breaking for a bit will happen with you. [02:14:31] Speaker B: I want to do that one. [02:14:32] Speaker A: You want to do the D101? [02:14:34] Speaker B: I do want to do the B101, yes. [02:14:36] Speaker A: Boz casts greater restoration on himself. There's a flash of light and then he just folds in on himself. Just. He shrinks down to a small shape. He is rapidly transmuted into about a four month old kitten. Except the kitten's fur glows with brilliant rainbow light. So much so that as it dancels and flourishes, it's got 30ft of bright light and 30ft of dim light. In your kitten form, you are resistant to all damage. Also, please roll 3D 100 for me. Whoa. [02:15:30] Speaker B: 38. [02:15:31] Speaker A: Okay. [02:15:33] Speaker B: 49. [02:15:35] Speaker A: Okay. [02:15:36] Speaker B: 67. [02:15:38] Speaker A: Okay. [02:15:40] Speaker B: 4. [02:15:41] Speaker A: And then could you also roll 3D 4 plus 3 for me? [02:15:44] Speaker B: 3D 4. That is 5. [02:15:50] Speaker A: Change the music now. 8. You said 8. [02:15:54] Speaker B: 8 total. [02:15:55] Speaker A: Yes. Okay. For the next eight hours, you are the magical kitten form. While in this form, you have 154 hit points. You have a fly speed of 100ft, you can. You can speak. And you retain all of your mental scores. In this form, you have a strength score of 2, a dex score of 10, and a constitution score of 20. [02:16:26] Speaker B: Okay, you need to spell cat one more time. [02:16:29] Speaker A: I'm gonna. I'm gonna type it all on your channel a second. Okay? You can't cast spells in this form, wield weapons, or perform other tasks which require thumbs. Boz turns into a very shiny kitten. Brilliantly shiny in front of both you. [02:16:47] Speaker B: What are you guys looking at? [02:16:49] Speaker A: And then the kitten talks and it's fun. Okay. Greta nabs you and picks you up and starts petting you. [02:16:58] Speaker B: It actually feels kind of good. Gr. I'm not going to complain. [02:17:02] Speaker A: As she pets the back of your head. That's the single best physical experience of your life, boss. You just like, oh, yeah. Okay, that's. And it's. It's the most. [02:17:12] Speaker D: Is the kitten glowing Rainbow. So what color is the kitten's fur? Because it's emanating a rainbow light shot. [02:17:18] Speaker A: Like. Like. Like strobing with rainbow color. [02:17:20] Speaker B: Like neon cat. [02:17:22] Speaker A: Yes, I did. I did pattern this wild magic ability after neon cats. [02:17:29] Speaker B: I'm gonna put this in my wild shape list. [02:17:32] Speaker A: No. [02:17:34] Speaker C: He said no. [02:17:36] Speaker A: No, not so much. [02:17:38] Speaker B: I love Polymorph. What about. Can I polymorph into this? [02:17:41] Speaker A: You could wild magic a T100 roll for this. Okay. This is the only condition under which you may do this. [02:17:48] Speaker C: Falls. [02:17:50] Speaker B: What's up? I'm a cat. Try pushing me again and see what happens. Huh? [02:17:57] Speaker C: Okay. [02:17:58] Speaker B: I start levitating. I say, push me again, Rose. [02:18:02] Speaker A: What happens? [02:18:03] Speaker B: And I shine brighter. I jump, and then I fall back into. [02:18:09] Speaker C: Pull his little tail real gently as. [02:18:13] Speaker B: You have fun with the walk back home. And I fly back towards the house. [02:18:18] Speaker A: Boss turns. [02:18:19] Speaker B: Yeah, get my heart for me. Grab. Grab the heart. Bring that with you if you could. [02:18:25] Speaker D: I grabbed the heart. [02:18:26] Speaker A: Okay, you pick up the heart in the jar. Yeah, hold on. [02:18:32] Speaker C: And all that stuff. Done. [02:18:33] Speaker A: Give me. Give me just a second here. So that's 206, 33. Okay. Okay. So, Boz, in this form, you can fly 100ft in a turn, except if you dash, it's 200ft. That's 200ft every six seconds, which means. No, because feet per second. That's. That's 33ft per second, which is 22 miles an hour. So Boz just away because he can. He could fly at 22 miles an hour. Just. Yeah. So kitten Boz. Cause is just. What's the party doing back up the hill? [02:19:27] Speaker C: RO k their head? And I. Yeah, we go. We go walk up the loot. [02:19:33] Speaker D: I'm. I'm in no rush after this flying kitten. [02:19:37] Speaker A: Okay, so Kitty paws emerges back at the top of the hill. And as you come back, there's just a whole lot of. Oh, okay. So, like, you get back up, and Jet is like, oh, oh. And Bill Free goes, and he just pulls out a battle axe. And he's like, whoa, what's up? And Tella puts a hand on his hands and goes, no, no, no. This is getting kind of normal. I bet that's one of us. Craig just goes, kitty. And starts walking forward. [02:20:06] Speaker D: She would love Rainbow. [02:20:08] Speaker A: She would love this. [02:20:10] Speaker B: And kitten say, hey, hey, it's boss. It's Boss. [02:20:18] Speaker A: Just goes, buzz, I don't mean to alarm you, but you're a very cute kitten. [02:20:22] Speaker B: Thank you. Give me some scritches, please, and tell. [02:20:28] Speaker A: Us just like, why are you so shy? I start purring, you're so sorry. [02:20:31] Speaker D: I say, can you make me out? [02:20:38] Speaker A: Tello picks up kitten boss and goes, this is great. And bars. Oh yeah. Okay. Yeah. You're getting the best cheek scritches. [02:20:48] Speaker B: Nice. I like this. [02:20:49] Speaker A: It's pretty good. [02:20:50] Speaker B: I'll see out the island. [02:20:52] Speaker C: Eight hours. [02:20:54] Speaker D: Sorry, that just clicked. Eight hours. [02:20:58] Speaker C: But he doesn't know eight hours, right? He doesn't know how long he's gonna be this boss. I don't think we should go anywhere until you get out of this form. [02:21:12] Speaker A: Why? [02:21:13] Speaker B: I'm like invincible. [02:21:14] Speaker C: I don't think you are. You're a tiny kitten. [02:21:17] Speaker B: I'm literally resistant to any. I know that. I'm resistant. [02:21:22] Speaker C: Yeah, but like you can't cast, you can't stab anything. [02:21:29] Speaker B: I can fly. I can fly. Watch this. And I just start going up. Okay, can you hear me now? [02:21:42] Speaker A: He's very distant and you cannot hear him. Oh God. Back down. [02:21:48] Speaker D: Like why isn't my kitten gone? Why can't my kitten have an all present voice? [02:21:54] Speaker B: This is pretty good. I feel like boss needed this. [02:21:57] Speaker A: Yeah. This is a weird relief to your previous evening of existential crisis. [02:22:02] Speaker C: When Boz gets back down, whenever he does, Ro is gonna roe is gonna let Faber out to play with Kitten Boss. [02:22:15] Speaker A: So row as you twist your ring, there's Faber. And Faber's just, you know, he first does the shack, the shocked cat ears and the big pupils. He looks around and he looks at Boz. Fight me bro. [02:22:26] Speaker B: Bite me, bite me. And I'm like. [02:22:28] Speaker A: And Faber's just like, I'm just joking. Kind of walks up and starts sniffing you boss and bosses. He goes, I mean you don't hear words but you kind of get an intonation that he's like kind of communicating like whoa, what's that? And you're like, oh, you can understand him. And he walks over and he starts sniffing you and bats you on the head. [02:22:51] Speaker B: I go, haha, that was, that's fun. [02:22:57] Speaker A: Wow. That was straight out of the room. Haha, that was fun. [02:23:01] Speaker B: Oh hi Mark. Hey Faber. So I turned into a cat and do you have any tips? [02:23:13] Speaker A: Faber's just sitting that tall cat sitting position. His tail is going thump, thump, thump. [02:23:22] Speaker C: I introduce Faber to Jeff. I say, oh, by the way, this is like he's like my Fae cat kind of. [02:23:30] Speaker A: Jeff walks over and goes, oh my goodness, what is that? He picks up Faber. He's never seen a cat before, so I don't know why he called. And he just picks him up. Faber like looks kind of weird and stiff. In his arms. He holds him close, just starts rubbing Faber. And Faber just turns and rolls over and he goes, I love this. What is this? [02:24:00] Speaker C: He's a, he's a cat, but he's like a fae cat. So he pops in from the Feywild. [02:24:07] Speaker A: And I love cats. This is what a cat is. [02:24:10] Speaker C: Yeah, they're pretty awesome. [02:24:12] Speaker A: He smells good. [02:24:13] Speaker C: Yeah. [02:24:15] Speaker A: He just starts like rubbing his head on him. And favorite Faber, like, turns over and goes limp in his arms. And he just starts rubbing his cheek. Favor likes him immediately. Born cat person. [02:24:29] Speaker B: Neighbor could be happy here. [02:24:31] Speaker C: That's what I was thinking, dad. And this is like the first time she's like said. [02:24:42] Speaker A: He just goes, yep. He just turns looking at you with the cats pulled over in his arm. [02:24:49] Speaker C: Would you want to keep Faber safe for a while? For me. [02:25:01] Speaker A: Sure. [02:25:06] Speaker C: He's really good about things. And when you like, you can kind of connect with him and almost kind of talk with him. And he can go. [02:25:13] Speaker A: He just puts Faber down. And he goes, am I dead now or. [02:25:24] Speaker C: Yeah, I, I think so. [02:25:31] Speaker A: Okay, that's. [02:25:36] Speaker C: I, I, if it's not too soon or. [02:25:41] Speaker A: Yeah, no, that's, that sounds good. And he just picks Faber up because you see like an upwelling of affection. He doesn't necessarily feel anything. Like, if he doesn't know if he's allowed to see. He just picks Faber up and starts like, kissing him and rubbing his cheek. And he goes, yeah, you want me to keep the cat? [02:26:11] Speaker C: Yeah, I think he seems, he seems to love you. [02:26:15] Speaker A: And he just walks over to you and like hugs you with you and with favor in between the two of you. And he looks like he can't contain it. And he just like, he hugs you and palms the back of your head. Not forcefully, but just kind of pushes your head into the shoulder. He just kisses the top of your head and just hugs you real hard. And Faber's in between the two of you. [02:26:34] Speaker C: I hug him back and I like nudge Faber because he's right there in between us. [02:26:39] Speaker A: Faber's Greta, you can see from in between the two of them. Faber's kind of squished his arms up in between the two of them. He's making that cat face where he's like, I don't know about this, and like the position he's in now. And he unhugs you. And Faber kind of sits up in his arms, but is still relaxed. And he goes, I'm glad you're my daughter. Yeah. If you want me to keep the cat, how does it just do you just leave him here? [02:27:10] Speaker C: Yeah. So he's connected with this. And she holds up her ring. He doesn't, he doesn't really need like taking care of in the sense. [02:27:23] Speaker A: Okay, you said he's magical. [02:27:25] Speaker C: Yeah, he's magical. He's. He's think of like, you know, Fae beings like that kind of thing. Like druidic magicy things. So he doesn't really need taken care of in that sense, but he can like, you know, like you can kind of communicate with him if you have the ring a little bit. And he, he's a. He's a good, he's good. He's a good boy. And she scratches him and, and he likes, he likes to, you know, go walking every now and then. But he also, if you, if you want to, you can just, you know, do this with the ring. And he zaps back to the Fae wild and. [02:28:09] Speaker A: Okay, you twist it. And he just. [02:28:11] Speaker C: Yeah. [02:28:11] Speaker A: And he goes, oh, wow. I mean, I'm not gonna lie. It'd be nice to have a little buddy out here. [02:28:17] Speaker C: Yeah. Here. And she hands him the ring and says, put that on. Put that on. [02:28:25] Speaker A: He looks at it and he smiles and he puts it onto the middle finger on his right hand. Boz, you know that there's no unifying symbol of union in the lost lands, but that when people wear some sort of a jewelry to signify like a marriage or a familial connection, they put it on the middle finger of their right hand and you see him slide Faber's ring onto that finger and he goes, thank you. It's better than lute. Honestly. [02:28:57] Speaker C: I don't know about that. But he's, he's. I, I love Faber. He's a great cat. And I think, I think he'd be really happy here and hanging out with you. [02:29:08] Speaker A: I think he would be too. He'll go everywhere with me. And he just twists the ring and Faber just appears and Jath smiles and goes, I don't think I'm ever gonna untwist that ring. Faber just sits down next to him, looks around bored, like a cat. [02:29:30] Speaker C: I give Faber a pet and kind of like a nod, like he rubs. [02:29:36] Speaker A: His head around in your hand. He looks at you with the slowest, most bored blink. [02:29:46] Speaker C: And I mean like, you know, this kind of. She looks at Jath and she's like this kind of like our thing, I guess. And she kind of stands up. [02:30:00] Speaker A: She's like looking forward to having a lot more things. [02:30:03] Speaker C: Yeah. [02:30:04] Speaker A: Have to come back and you have to come back. [02:30:08] Speaker C: Definitely, definitely. [02:30:10] Speaker A: Well, I should probably let you and your friends keep on trying to fight. [02:30:19] Speaker C: Yeah. [02:30:19] Speaker A: Kafka generals and save bees. Yeah. Hugs you one more time. He squeezes you really tight and really long this time. And he goes. Come back if you can. I'd love to see you. [02:30:36] Speaker C: You too. [02:30:38] Speaker A: Really glad you found me. [02:30:40] Speaker B: Hey, I don't mean to be the giddy of Bat of Cat News, but. [02:30:46] Speaker A: Boss says it's a tiny floating rainbow kitten. [02:30:49] Speaker C: I like the thing. He's like, floating right here. [02:30:51] Speaker A: I got head level. [02:30:52] Speaker B: Yes. I gotta take Belfry back home. And I can only do that once a day. So we'll have to leave tomorrow. [02:30:59] Speaker C: Right now? [02:31:01] Speaker B: Yeah. So I can do it today. But we won't be able to leave till tomorrow. [02:31:05] Speaker A: Bilfrey goes. [02:31:06] Speaker C: Okay, yeah. [02:31:07] Speaker A: This is awkward. But I do gotta go back to the boat. [02:31:10] Speaker B: I'm his ride man. You know how it goes. Like, in the clear. [02:31:14] Speaker C: I'm fine. She looks to Jap. Is it okay if we stay one more night? Maybe we can jam again. [02:31:21] Speaker A: He just smiles and starts pulling out more instruments. [02:31:24] Speaker B: Or what we could do is I could try to zoom to the next island, tree back here, and then I tree belfry to the boat the next day, and then I tree back here the next day, and then the next day we all tree together to the next island. [02:31:42] Speaker A: Smash cut through the next eight Allens, where Boss was too far away from the island to fly there. And everybody had another jam session. But with Boz is a tiny, like, Baby Groot dancing rainbow kitten. And everybody has more job fruit meals and it's delicious and they're goodbyes. And on that bizarre note, for a session, I'm sure that I'll have to rename. We'll call that the end of episode 122. Some sort of a title. Okay, that was. That was a great session, everybody. Y'all gain of levels. 0.02 levels for the session. And I'm gonna say. [02:32:30] Speaker C: Let me. [02:32:30] Speaker B: Let me pull up my. Pull up my handy dandy calculator. [02:32:33] Speaker C: Okay, I'm doing it. All right. [02:32:34] Speaker B: What is it? [02:32:36] Speaker A: 0.02 for the session. [02:32:38] Speaker B: Okay. [02:32:39] Speaker D: 0.02 for me. Just me for me. [02:32:43] Speaker B: 0.02 for Abby, definitely. [02:32:47] Speaker A: So. And then definitely another 0.01 for all the role plays. So 0.03 in total. [02:32:55] Speaker B: So that's according to my calculator. That's 0.03, everybody. [02:32:58] Speaker A: That is 0.03 according to your calculator. [02:33:01] Speaker B: So we're at 8, 2, 3. [02:33:07] Speaker C: Why do I have 8, 6, 3? [02:33:11] Speaker A: As you guys figure that out, we'll say to you, listener, life is an incredible adventure. You are a wonderful part of it, an important part of it.
