Episode Transcript
[00:00:00] Speaker A: Foreign.
[00:00:05] Speaker B: Welcome back to Barely DND D, your sorta Dungeons and Dragons podcast.
I. We're. We're back.
[00:00:13] Speaker C: That was. I was officially different.
[00:00:15] Speaker B: We're back, baby.
I'm Jackie, your resident bard.
And are you ready to fight some stuff?
[00:00:25] Speaker C: Are you ready to run?
[00:00:26] Speaker D: To run?
[00:00:27] Speaker C: No.
Nicole, would you mind? The rumble was good. Would you mind muting when not talking? Just while the mic's on the other setting? I mean, I'm kind of enjoying the plate asmr. I'm not like, I don't even mean this sarcastically. It was a little fun.
Yes, correct. We're back with Accidental Adventures. Specifically, we're doing episode 140, which is kind of nuts, and we're gonna do some big old boss combat. So I've got on my boss combat shirt, and Abby already complimented it, along with multiple other things about me, which is very nice of her.
The very brief letter question today was, if your character was a violent villain locked away in a cave forever for very long periods of time that adventurers had to come defeat, what would their heinous lair be filled with? What would it be like?
Your character?
Oh, that was honestly, a little concerningly fast. Who's the DM in PC?
[00:01:30] Speaker B: I want it to be someone really nice that wouldn't ever have a layer.
[00:01:34] Speaker C: Classy decision with the Angry Orchard.
[00:01:36] Speaker E: Hello.
Not Tello. Not Tello. I take it back.
[00:01:40] Speaker B: I kind of do want to know tell. Either one of those is cool with me.
[00:01:46] Speaker C: Remember, Micah, whenever you want to talk, you can just unmute.
Okay. She's doing fine.
[00:01:52] Speaker B: Language.
[00:01:54] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:01:54] Speaker A: I know you guys probably said that y' all wanted Tello or Spaghuber.
We should probably. I want to hear what Thimden's would be, because Thimden is the one who would most likely have a boss lair, and I'd be really cool to see what his would be if he.
[00:02:08] Speaker B: Okay. I'm okay with.
[00:02:09] Speaker D: I don't know.
[00:02:10] Speaker C: Okay. Okay. Micah has a weapon.
Oh. I feel like she's saying really funny things, but. Or maybe just chewing.
Yeah. And Abby has to go right now or something bad's gonna happen.
[00:02:27] Speaker E: So I have a loft bed, and Noah's up there hanging out, and I can. I just figured out exactly where his butt is in the bed because I heard a little fart come out, and I was praying.
No, I get like you.
[00:02:45] Speaker D: I'm sorry, what?
[00:02:48] Speaker C: Abby, could you tell Noah that he has inspiration?
[00:02:50] Speaker E: Could you tell Noah you have inspiration?
[00:02:57] Speaker A: Elizabeth, Noah's head.
[00:02:58] Speaker D: Why am I talking into that mic.
[00:03:00] Speaker C: Frame upside down from the top of The. That was amazing. Force of habit.
[00:03:06] Speaker D: He's a Bag by Matt Moo all.
[00:03:09] Speaker C: Right, tell us about Greta's Greta. Evil villain Greta's lady.
[00:03:11] Speaker E: Greta's lair would be filled with grubs. And they would be flesh eating grubs.
And they would be. Some of them would be like as big as maybe like a small cow. And then. But there would just be.
It would be like a cave under the ground. Like a dirt. Like, the walls would be dirt, and the grubs would be everywhere. But there would be so many tiny grubs that you couldn't walk without stepping on grubs. And if you were standing still for any amount of time, the grubs would crawl up your leg, they would fall on your ceiling, and they eat your flesh. But the little ones are so small.
It's like a. It's like a daddy long legs situation. They can't.
They can't.
[00:03:51] Speaker B: I'm having a panic attack.
[00:03:58] Speaker C: Okay, so everyone's agreed. Abby never. DMs right. Like, everybody's. Everybody's in agreement because that was maybe on Halloween.
I don't know about then, actually.
That was horrifying. Abby, good job. I don't know what that had to do with Greta, but it was terrifying.
[00:04:18] Speaker E: Doesn't that not seem a little Greta? Greta would love the grubs.
[00:04:22] Speaker C: When you said, there's a cave in some grubs, I was like, okay, I see where you're going. And then you said, then there's some grubs. Now to talk about the grubs. Also one of the grubs and with the grubs. And I was like, I don't think this is about Greta anymore. I think Abby just woke up with grubs on the brain.
[00:04:35] Speaker D: And I. And I was. And I was over on the grubs and I was over on the grubs.
[00:04:42] Speaker E: And I was over on the bench made of dirt covering grubs.
[00:04:48] Speaker C: Jackie's having a bad time.
Jackie. Jackie looked away from the camera and started occupying herself with something.
Lando, what would Boz's villain layer be?
[00:05:01] Speaker A: Oz would have random sigils on the ground that would, like, people would have to make a saving throw against like a wisdom saving throw. Or be charmed to think that they're playing Super Smash Brothers ultimate against a Wi Fi warrior Little Mac and a laggy connection.
Well, depending on what's worse, whether they would hate playing against the Little Mac more or whether they would hate being the Little Mac more. That's what happens.
And Boz doesn't Fight them. He just kind of laughs at. They just get really crashed out.
[00:05:34] Speaker C: The assigned side joke has been brought to you by Landon P. Barnaby.
The what is.
[00:05:43] Speaker A: Which one's Little Mac, the one with boxing gloves?
Little Mac, one of the oldest video game characters ever.
He's from Punch Out. He fights Mike Tyson.
[00:05:55] Speaker C: Oh, freaking pun.
[00:05:57] Speaker A: Yeah, he has the guy. He has. The coaches says, get a Mac.
[00:06:01] Speaker C: Punch out, guys.
[00:06:02] Speaker A: Punch out.
[00:06:02] Speaker C: Punch Out.
[00:06:04] Speaker A: You were the one that showed me Punch Out.
[00:06:08] Speaker C: I'm. I'm. And this is important, not Jackie. I've never played that game, nor do I know what it is.
[00:06:14] Speaker A: I never played it either.
I.
[00:06:17] Speaker C: What's happening right now, Ro? What's Rose Villain Lair?
Have I played Punch Out?
[00:06:23] Speaker A: No. I think so. It's an old game. It's hard to find.
[00:06:27] Speaker B: I think it would be, like, a mix.
I think it would be, like, a mix of. Of the evil queen from Snow White and Ursula from Little Mermaid. Like, there'd be mirrors and food involved, and the food would be, like, poison apples and poison cupcakes and stuff to give to her enemies.
And then she'd have a mirror because obviously she needs a friend to talk to. So it would be, like, talking, and then it would be like a talking mirror. Okay, she's not talking to herself. And then.
And then I think she would collect necklaces from the people that cross her path. Like, I am kind of thinking, like, see sea witch hag kind of thing. So, like, the. The people that travel and she. She brings their ships down, she would steal their necklaces, and then she would trap their voices in the necklaces to use as her harmonies.
[00:07:26] Speaker C: That's kind of sick, actually, Jackie. Dude, that's actually kind of sick.
[00:07:32] Speaker D: That's. That's literally perfect.
Oh, my gosh.
[00:07:37] Speaker C: That's awesome.
What's Craig's evil villain lay?
Oh, my God, you're talking. She's declining. Dancer.
[00:07:53] Speaker D: Sorry.
Sorry. I was clicking everything other than unmute, and then my laptop went, I hate your guts, and, like, froze at the worst time.
So I. I have a hard time thinking about this because I feel like Craig wouldn't start out as a villain, but I feel like his intention was to, like, have a pet lobster, and then, like, he wanted to get that pet lobster a friend, and then the pet lobsters, like, reproduced a ton, and now he has just a bunch of pet lobsters. And then. And then he got really upset one day, and he taught them to, like, you know, like, sic em. You know, like, that command to dogs. I'd like to think that he's trained his pet lobsters to attack.
And I'd like to think that he sits on a throne of lobsters and every once in a while he tries to pretend to be one.
He puts on big claws.
I couldn't think of a Craig answer. So lobsters came to mind.
[00:09:07] Speaker E: That's incredible.
Let's go Crag.
Does he try to crack rocks in his lobster hands?
[00:09:14] Speaker D: Yes, indeed. He gives them. He gets the mightiest lobster. The. The mightiest one. And was like. And he's like, hey, hey, buddy. I need you to pinch this for me, okay? And then if the. If the lobster gets to crack the rock and he actually does it. That's his right hand. Man.
[00:09:39] Speaker C: Sounds like the most amazing.
[00:09:44] Speaker D: Under the sea. Under the sea, that display.
[00:09:48] Speaker C: Now I just want to. I like a. A one shot where a bunch of.
[00:09:52] Speaker B: Not a lobster.
I mean from Little Mermaid.
[00:09:57] Speaker C: Hey.
[00:09:57] Speaker E: Hey.
[00:09:58] Speaker C: It's.
He's vaguely crustacean.
[00:10:02] Speaker D: Why'd you have to break my dreams?
[00:10:04] Speaker C: Jackie's face.
[00:10:06] Speaker D: Why'd you have to ruin my dreams?
[00:10:09] Speaker B: He really doesn't look like a crab. He looks more like a lobster. Yeah. Yeah.
[00:10:13] Speaker C: He has a full. He has a full jawline, eyebrows and pupils. I don't think he's anything.
[00:10:19] Speaker E: Crabs.
[00:10:20] Speaker C: Have you got teeth? He's got human teeth.
[00:10:22] Speaker D: He's what Craig wants to be.
[00:10:25] Speaker C: They do not have pupils, actually. Heavy.
[00:10:27] Speaker E: How do you know?
[00:10:28] Speaker C: But anyhow.
Okay, go ahead. And then we'll start playing D and.
[00:10:37] Speaker E: D.
I'll tell you later.
[00:10:42] Speaker C: Okay. And the boss gets one more hit point.
Okay, so that's a very pleasant number. Actually. I was pleased I did that note taking.
[00:10:54] Speaker B: Hey, what about Thimnen?
[00:10:57] Speaker C: Oh, I don't care.
The. Okay, Finland would have.
Guys, it's. This is a fever dream.
Thimnin. We voted on Thimin. Thimman is who you chose.
[00:11:09] Speaker B: Or Nam or Landon said Thimnin.
Abby.
[00:11:13] Speaker A: And I don't know what they said.
[00:11:15] Speaker C: Evil villain lair would be an abandoned warehouse that no one went into that was stashed full of stolen items.
[00:11:22] Speaker A: And.
[00:11:22] Speaker C: And it would be filled with like. Like it would not be lit from the inside and would have a very high, dark ceiling. And there would be many, like, rafters and boxes and. And like ropes hanging down. And she could, like, swing from place to place and she'd constantly be darting and hiding and there'd even be like, semi hollow walls that she could hide in with, like, points she could shoot out of. So she'd constantly be going places that you couldn't see popping out. Sneaky Attacking you and then retreating into darkness. And if you defeated her, there'd be, like, a bunch of, like, hidden goods.
All right, note taking, nerds. This is episode 140 of the Adventures, which were accidental.
It's a level 13 adventure.
3488 Police Butter Sihadron 15. It's one of those eternal days. A mechanic level 13 adventure. That's still very exciting. I think this is our first level 13 adventure. Yeah.
[00:12:19] Speaker A: Can I guess the title of the episode?
[00:12:20] Speaker C: Zachary?
[00:12:21] Speaker A: Can I get. Can I guess the title?
[00:12:23] Speaker C: Yes, go ahead.
[00:12:28] Speaker B: What did you say? Hag Heavens.
[00:12:30] Speaker A: Hag Heaven.
[00:12:33] Speaker C: All I heard was Abby saying under the sea.
[00:12:38] Speaker D: It's gonna be.
Wait, can I guess?
Okay. The one where Craig dies.
[00:12:50] Speaker A: In parentheses. Hag Heaven.
[00:12:53] Speaker B: Why would Craig go to Hag Heaven.
[00:12:55] Speaker C: Within those parentheses under dussy?
This is episode 140 of the Accidental Adventures. Bewitched.
[00:13:05] Speaker E: Ooh, that's good.
[00:13:07] Speaker A: That's a fun game. Have you ever played Bewitched? The old. There's a Bejeweled. No, it's Bejeweled, actually. Sorry, my bad.
[00:13:15] Speaker B: All I can think of is the old TV show from the 50s and 60s called Bewitched. That was an amazing TV show.
[00:13:22] Speaker A: Guys, I'm tired.
[00:13:23] Speaker C: I'm.
[00:13:24] Speaker A: I've got big tired.
[00:13:26] Speaker B: She wiggles her nose and that's how she cast, you know?
[00:13:30] Speaker A: You see how little Max looking in that last photo? That's how boss is looking at the hag lady.
He's got angry brows. He's looking at her like, I don't.
[00:13:39] Speaker B: Believe this guy is a real character.
[00:13:41] Speaker E: I don't even.
[00:13:43] Speaker B: He looks AI Generated.
[00:13:44] Speaker A: I wish he wasn't a real character. I. I wish that he was not real. I, I. Please, whoever. Whoever likes playing the best Little Mac player in arguably the world is from Maryland.
[00:13:56] Speaker B: Is that you?
[00:13:57] Speaker A: His name's Peanut. He's pretty cool. Hey, he's a twitch.
[00:14:02] Speaker B: I think you're just making up stuff at this point.
[00:14:05] Speaker A: I love that I have made my brand so rock solid.
What? What'd you say, Abby?
I am.
[00:14:17] Speaker C: As we discussed last time, Landon has gotten to the point where none of us can tell when he's telling the truth or joking.
[00:14:23] Speaker A: This makes it.
[00:14:24] Speaker C: It's. I'm guessing, always.
[00:14:26] Speaker A: I love that. That looks great. The thing that I have been working for ever since we started.
[00:14:33] Speaker E: Landon, I have a question.
[00:14:34] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:14:35] Speaker A: Yeah. While Zach figures out I haven't made up answer.
[00:14:39] Speaker E: Battle map.
[00:14:40] Speaker C: Is.
[00:14:40] Speaker E: Is the battle map distorted for anyone?
[00:14:44] Speaker B: Distorted? No, no.
[00:14:45] Speaker A: The battle map looks fine for me.
Is there supposed to Be a ziggurat in the middle.
[00:14:51] Speaker B: A what?
[00:14:53] Speaker C: Great word.
[00:14:54] Speaker A: I know. I just wanted to use the word. It doesn't look like a cigarette.
[00:14:56] Speaker C: I know.
Okay, well, Abby's gone quiet now. So this is the chamber.
[00:15:04] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:15:04] Speaker C: 75Ft across. It's square.
What?
[00:15:10] Speaker E: I just. I cannot see the battle map.
I'm gonna try and troubleshoot on my end. I might leave and then come back, but. Go ahead.
Okay, that's perfect. Sorry.
Thank you.
[00:15:26] Speaker C: All better. So it's a very large square, 75 by 75, 15 foot tall ceiling, all suspended in water. Dead bodies everywhere. But I didn't want to draw 50 dead bodies.
This is the dais in the middle. So each. It has three levels. Each layer level is lifted up six inches.
These are four different stairways that run out to the middle. And then the big circle in the middle is a stone pillar in the center.
And this is the group all over here.
And so red for Boz, blue for Craig. The black circle is Sol' Ghin.
The purple one is Ro. The yellow is Tello. The green is Greta. I've never stuck two creatures in the same square before, but Solgin's, Craig's, like, wearing Saul Geen, so.
And Micah just messaged in the chat. What if I gave her a wet willy?
Well, Craig, remember, you can do anything on your action.
Anything on your turn. It's not out of the equation.
And so I've never stuck two in the same square, but, I mean, you're wearing her, so.
Like a scarf. So you're both in the square right now.
Micah's laughing so hard. She's crying, but she's muted.
And, yes, that is where we are.
On a completely unrelated note, why doesn't everybody roll me initiative?
[00:16:56] Speaker E: Doesn't she get. Don't we get an attack?
[00:16:58] Speaker C: There's a thing happening first.
[00:17:00] Speaker E: Okay.
[00:17:00] Speaker C: But I think I need everyone to roll me initiative first so that I can describe how things go.
Okay.
[00:17:05] Speaker B: Have an extra point.
[00:17:06] Speaker C: All right, guys, let's have some boss battle.
[00:17:08] Speaker D: Wait, I have a question. Didn't we already roll initiative?
[00:17:12] Speaker A: I don't think we did. No.
[00:17:13] Speaker D: Like in the beginning.
[00:17:14] Speaker C: Beginning very detailed notes.
[00:17:17] Speaker A: No.
[00:17:20] Speaker C: Two episodes before, you had a different combat.
[00:17:22] Speaker B: That's so bad.
[00:17:23] Speaker C: Okay, I could just pick one for.
[00:17:25] Speaker A: Initiative is plus. Right?
[00:17:27] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:17:28] Speaker A: I got a.
Oh, let me. Let me help. I'm going to make a list, too. So Boz Got a 16.
[00:17:39] Speaker C: Got 16.
[00:17:41] Speaker A: You can use your per DM, right, Zach?
[00:17:46] Speaker C: You can use it on anything you want. So you could roll a D4 and add it to your decks, right? Or to your initiative. That's your entire dexterity score.
Okay, so boss got 16. What did Greta get? Wrong person to ask.
What did Craig get?
Thirteen. Excellent.
What did Ro get?
[00:18:07] Speaker B: I got a five.
[00:18:10] Speaker C: That's unfortunate.
[00:18:11] Speaker B: Really unfortunate.
I'm sorry.
I guess somebody had to be last.
[00:18:18] Speaker C: Of us.
What is.
[00:18:20] Speaker A: She could roll a nat.
[00:18:21] Speaker E: One got a 23.
And Greta got.
[00:18:31] Speaker C: Crap.
[00:18:32] Speaker E: I know. Yeah. And Greta got a 11.
[00:18:38] Speaker C: I. You didn't mean it that way, Abby. But I want you to know, the dismissive tone in which you said, I know. Yeah. Kind of intimidated me.
Like it.
[00:18:46] Speaker E: Actually, I'm not.
[00:18:46] Speaker C: I felt it. I was like, yeah.
[00:18:51] Speaker E: Me.
[00:18:51] Speaker C: When I wear this shirt, Abby and I's relationship changes. Our friendship is different. When I wear this shirt.
[00:18:57] Speaker E: Yeah.
[00:18:58] Speaker A: Zach.
[00:19:01] Speaker C: Yeah?
[00:19:01] Speaker A: Can I roll to hit with the shadows?
[00:19:05] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, you got the shadows.
[00:19:07] Speaker C: I mean, you're first no matter what. It's that.
[00:19:09] Speaker B: What is their initiative? Do they have different initiative?
[00:19:13] Speaker A: They go right after me.
[00:19:15] Speaker E: Well, you got a sneak attack.
Sneaky, sneaky.
[00:19:19] Speaker A: They get advantage on there.
[00:19:20] Speaker C: If they were. If they were rogues, they would have a sneak attack.
[00:19:23] Speaker D: Surprising.
[00:19:25] Speaker A: Well, Zachary, they actually can hide as a bonus action. So they have that ability.
[00:19:31] Speaker C: That's crazy. I mean, they still don't have the sneak attack feature, but that's nuts.
I mean, they don't even deal damage, so.
[00:19:38] Speaker A: Yes, they do.
[00:19:39] Speaker C: They just do something worse.
They do? Yeah. It was just the drain.
[00:19:43] Speaker A: No.
[00:19:43] Speaker C: Oh, they have a damage option. That's right.
[00:19:45] Speaker A: No, no. They do damage and drain.
[00:19:48] Speaker C: I don't know how to read. I mean, I'm the one who never used them. Okay, so I have initiative set up. So fun. Guys, you were in discourse with Salgein the Fathom Witch, who had just said the words, you take his eyes, then we're friends, and smiled. And then Boz said, then die and attacked her with shadows. So bazaar, as in this square dark chamber filled with raised silt and dead bodies, as this ancient, horrible, mute, twisted sahogin sea hag has crawled up around Craig, accepting a tumultuous offer, and you turn the tables on her very suddenly. The rippling shadows, almost undetectable in this darkness that are swirling around you in the macabre darkness and filth as they rush towards Salgeen. Go ahead and give me three different rolls of the hit.
[00:20:45] Speaker A: Oh, man. Okay, so they have a thunder four to hit on this outside.
[00:20:51] Speaker C: Okay. Plus four.
[00:20:52] Speaker A: Oh, so that is a seven. Not gonna. I assume that doesn't hit. Okay, another seven.
[00:21:00] Speaker C: Oops.
[00:21:00] Speaker A: And then a nat 20.
[00:21:02] Speaker D: Oh.
[00:21:05] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:21:06] Speaker A: Two miss.
Okay. Her strength is gonna be reduced by four.
Okay. And then she takes two D6 plus two double diet, double damage, or double dice. I always forget. Zach, forgive me.
[00:21:22] Speaker C: I. I always let players choose. I always let people choose in our campaign.
[00:21:25] Speaker A: What about the modifier damage?
[00:21:27] Speaker C: You just got to pick before you roll.
[00:21:29] Speaker A: Like if there's a plus, you add on your modifier. Okay. No, like it's a 2D6 plus 2 necrotic damage.
So, yeah, so 4D6 plus 4.
[00:21:40] Speaker C: You can roll 46 plus 2 or you can roll 2D6, double it and then add 2.
[00:21:45] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:21:46] Speaker C: No, no.
When people double the.
[00:21:48] Speaker A: What happens to the two modifier we use.
[00:21:51] Speaker C: We use big crits around here. Yes. So 4D 6 plus 2 or 2D 6 plus 2 doubled. Your 4D 6 plus 2 or 2 D 6 plus 2 doubled.
[00:22:01] Speaker A: Oh, I'll do 2D 6 plus 2 doubles.
Okay, that is 8. Mathematically, 2 and a 1. Not super great. So that's 3. So that's 6.
Wait.
[00:22:13] Speaker C: Oh, 6 12.
[00:22:14] Speaker A: Wait, no. A 2, a 2 and a 1. Right?
[00:22:18] Speaker C: 3.
[00:22:20] Speaker A: 3 plus 4, 7.
Because you double. You said. That's why I took this option is because you double the two and this.
[00:22:29] Speaker C: One is what you said.
No, no, it's more than that. Three plus two double all of it. It's more than that. It's 10.
[00:22:37] Speaker A: Okay, you're good. Okay, you're good, dude.
[00:22:40] Speaker C: You're good. So 10 strength is reduced by 4.
[00:22:42] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:22:44] Speaker C: That's huge.
[00:22:47] Speaker A: Not a great surprise round, guys, but it's okay. Oh, they also use their bonus action to hide immediately.
[00:22:54] Speaker C: Okay, so roll stealth check for all three.
Or you can roll one stealth check for all of them. It's how much you want to keep track of.
[00:23:03] Speaker A: So nat 20.
So 26.
[00:23:06] Speaker C: Nat twins.
[00:23:07] Speaker A: That's two nat twenties.
[00:23:10] Speaker C: That's crazy. The shadow.
That.
[00:23:13] Speaker A: That's crazy.
26 total.
[00:23:18] Speaker C: Imagine if I had ever remembered to use these. Okay, so Boz shouts, then die. And his shadows just soundlessly, just.
Just lunge up at her. And it's crazy because there's no noise.
[00:23:32] Speaker A: There's no imagery. They have advantage to hit. They have advantage to hit.
[00:23:35] Speaker C: Hit. Right.
[00:23:37] Speaker A: Cuz it's surprise is what you said.
[00:23:40] Speaker C: I mean, yes, I didn't roll.
[00:23:42] Speaker A: I only rolled once for the threes. That means they get to roll.
[00:23:45] Speaker C: Yeah, if you want to roll those first two.
[00:23:47] Speaker A: Yes, the two that.
Yes. Okay, that is at 18 plus. Sorry, Zach, I just completely forgot. That is an 18 plus 4. So that's 22 and that is a 18 plus 4. 20. 22.
[00:24:03] Speaker C: Holy crap. That's kind of creepy.
[00:24:06] Speaker A: Okay, I'm gonna roll all their damage. So that's 46.
[00:24:09] Speaker C: Roll damage twice more.
[00:24:11] Speaker A: Five plus one. That's six plus one. That's seven plus two. That's nine. So that's 11.
So 21 damage total. And then her strength is also reduced. 21 damage across all three attacks from.
And that's.
[00:24:28] Speaker C: Oh. Additionally reduced by. And so this is what's really important.
[00:24:35] Speaker A: Another four total. So eight. Her strength has been reduced by eight.
[00:24:41] Speaker C: Wow.
Okay, never mind. Boz shouts, then die. And soundlessly, the shadows. Craig. You feel this horrible creeping cold as shadows just wrap up your body. And Craig just disappears into darkness over her as well. Before all the shadows leech off of Craig and only onto her. So she is just covered in darkness. And you watch her writhe. And no sound comes out.
And as she shakes off the shadows, and then they just disappear into the dark. And it looks like boss has no more shadows.
Salgein does not look terribly harmed. You get the feeling that that necrotic damage might have done less than you would have expected.
But she, like, wretches and convulses, and she, like, feebly, like, tries to grab onto Craig for support. And her, like, leg tail sort of, like, separates and falls off of him. And she looks very badly weakened.
Horribly weakened.
With that, we have rolled initiative. And at the top of initiative is Tello. He is first. What is Tello doing?
[00:25:58] Speaker E: Okay.
[00:26:02] Speaker D: Tell us.
[00:26:03] Speaker E: Pretty close, right?
[00:26:05] Speaker C: Yes, Tello is pretty close.
You. If you look at the map, he is directly next to her.
[00:26:15] Speaker E: Never done.
He is just gonna use.
He can hide and then jump right back out again, right?
Bonus action. Hide.
[00:26:26] Speaker C: Yes. Yeah, that's true. Now he needs something to hide behind.
He's in a big, flat space.
So you guys are in this open chamber. Now, remember, the other thing that's happening here is that the drowned keep has veil of decay. So more than 30ft in any direction from anybody, their vision ends as the thin silt gathers into too much density and just becomes a dark mess. And this chamber is lit by a sourceless red ambient light.
So he could try either getting 30ft away, and then he's automatically hidden. But at that point, he has to fire at disadvantages. He's blind, which would also remove sneak attack. Or he could try.
He could try to hide behind a dead body on the floor. But I'm gonna say that that's like. That's so difficult. Saul Geen would get, like, a like a plus 10 to see him because that's so bad. Or a minus 10 from his hiding or whatever.
[00:27:28] Speaker E: Okay, I.
Let me know if.
Can he maneuver himself so saline is wrapped around Craig, correct?
[00:27:40] Speaker C: Yes. Physically around.
[00:27:42] Speaker E: Can he quickly, like, maneuver himself so that he's out of her vision using Craig's body as a shield?
Like, can he, like, duck behind Craig?
[00:27:55] Speaker C: No, because typically walking behind someone else else doesn't mean that you no longer know that other person was there.
Also, that's a specific feature in DND that halflings have. So. Yeah.
[00:28:08] Speaker E: Okay.
[00:28:10] Speaker C: I don't think you can have sneak attack on this one.
[00:28:12] Speaker E: Okay, so he is just gonna use his rapier.
[00:28:18] Speaker C: On.
[00:28:21] Speaker E: See, he's all the hit.
[00:28:24] Speaker C: Now he does have advantage on his roll the hit because he is flanking with boz.
[00:28:29] Speaker E: Ah, okay.
[00:28:32] Speaker C: Also know if he rolls a one, he will stab Craig.
[00:28:35] Speaker E: Okay.
[00:28:39] Speaker C: Wow.
[00:28:40] Speaker E: I got a 13, so 30. 20.
[00:28:45] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:28:46] Speaker A: Seven plus seven.
What a tank.
[00:28:52] Speaker E: And I'm gonna roll it.
[00:28:56] Speaker C: Yeah. D8 plus Dex.
[00:29:06] Speaker B: Oh.
[00:29:06] Speaker C: Oh, I love this.
[00:29:08] Speaker E: That is a.
That's an 11.
[00:29:16] Speaker C: Wow.
[00:29:16] Speaker E: I know. He got a seven.
[00:29:18] Speaker C: Great damage, guys.
[00:29:20] Speaker E: Yeah.
[00:29:22] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:29:22] Speaker E: And now he.
[00:29:23] Speaker C: What does it look like as. Oh, I'm sorry.
[00:29:25] Speaker E: Go ahead, go ahead, go ahead. I wasn't gonna describe it.
[00:29:28] Speaker C: What does it look like as Tello jabs her with his rapier.
[00:29:33] Speaker E: I say he's gonna, like, use Craig as a brace.
He's gonna, like, maybe put a hand on Craig's shoulder. He's gonna, like, try, and hopefully he goes ahead and he, like, scoops behind. Maybe just out of habit of hiding. He scoots behind Craig and then, like, pops out and like, like, jab, like, puts his hand on Craig's shoulder and, like, steadies it and, like, just, like, stabs in a.
[00:30:01] Speaker C: In just a darting little movement by. In the water. And he pulls out his raper.
And as he grabs Craig, as your shoulder is grabbed, it's a shocking moment because about two seconds ago, you were talking to this creepy lady. Tello just grabs the pauldron on your shoulder, pulls out his reaper in the water, and there's just this dull puncture sound in the water. The spray of bubbles and the silt whips around it, and you watch. Blood eeks out of her and then sucks back to her and closes up the wound a little. She looks like she took full damage from it, but she's more resilient than you all would have suspected.
If you want, Greta, you can make an arcana check for me.
[00:30:40] Speaker E: I would love to.
[00:30:41] Speaker C: It's fairly high D.C. call it D.C. 20 because there's a lot of intuition going on here. Well, not that that matters. I don't know if you can roll below a 20.
[00:30:50] Speaker E: Actually, maybe I can.
[00:30:55] Speaker C: Oh, no, no.
[00:30:57] Speaker E: Okay, 22.
[00:31:00] Speaker C: Yep.
Greta, you are starting to understand some of the sanguamancy going on here.
The blood that was pulled away from you all in the tunnel.
Oh, the healing went to her.
She has been. All the hit points you've lost on your way to her, she has gained.
That's crazy. Jackie Rose, passive perception is now 22. That's insane.
Which I mean, I think means Greta's would be as well. But anyhow, because her proficiency bonus also increased.
Okay.
At the end of telos turn. Yes, yes.
[00:31:42] Speaker E: Can I do one more thing?
[00:31:44] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:31:45] Speaker E: Those staircases. Can I hide behind one of those staircases?
[00:31:53] Speaker C: Each level of this platform is 6 inches tall.
[00:31:56] Speaker E: Okay.
[00:31:58] Speaker C: Yeah. So halfling feature.
[00:32:01] Speaker A: Wow, Zach.
[00:32:04] Speaker C: Welcome to the dungeon. Halfling Mayas.
[00:32:06] Speaker E: Can I hide behind the altar?
[00:32:13] Speaker C: You've used 5ft of movement as it is. You could certainly try.
It is 5, 10, 15, 20, 25.
Well, if you go 5, 10, 15, 20s, 25, 30, you could get to it.
You can get to it with the rest of his move.
[00:32:32] Speaker E: I'm going to stay where he is for now, but I want to move so that I'm flanking her again.
[00:32:39] Speaker C: Okay, Excellent.
At the end of hello's turn.
[00:32:50] Speaker A: Very.
[00:32:50] Speaker C: Much perceiving her life threatening situation after that incredibly fortunate gamble that Boz took, is going to use her first legendary action and she is going to use lesser spell.
So having flailed around Craig and been impaled, her demeanor changes.
Craig, she changed. She like postures, she like lifts herself up, she makes herself seem larger. And she does that by crawling up Craig and just wrapping her arms around his head. So Craig, you just go blind under like rubbery fleshy skin, arms that are like scaled and slimy. Does she smell like Craig as they pull around?
What?
[00:33:33] Speaker A: What does she smell like to Craig?
[00:33:37] Speaker C: She smells aquatic decay.
[00:33:40] Speaker D: She smells like the worst fish, tuna that you've ever smelled in your whole life. Like it's been sitting out in the hot sun for like a week. It's disgusting.
[00:33:50] Speaker C: She feels like a she. She smells like a fish you didn't know had been somewhere and by the time you found it, it was its last states of decay.
As she lifts herself up higher, she begins to slither off of Craig and you watch as her ribs open up wider than they were before, flattening almost like a cobra's hood. Her Neck extends long, and she fully unhinges that bottom jaw and just at you all. And as her eyes reflect that red light, she just like, says, and then with that, that's her component. She's gonna cast Misty Step, and she is going to see if I have this right. She's going to disappear.
[00:34:35] Speaker B: Oh, great.
[00:34:37] Speaker C: Yes. And she's going to move 30ft away.
So she is hidden by the veil of decay.
And I'm going to use a little system marker for myself to establish where she is.
Let's see, we have.
Okay, so she has moved and she is. Okay, yeah, yeah. So now it's Saul Gein's turn.
So on her turn, she is going to use Flesh Puppeteer.
And I'm gonna let you guys find out what happens with that. But it doesn't happen now.
Okay, Excellent. Boz, you're up.
[00:35:48] Speaker E: Now pause. Oh, never mind.
[00:35:55] Speaker C: Boss. It's your turn.
[00:35:57] Speaker A: You're muted, as is the way.
[00:36:01] Speaker C: Oh, I forgot to do something super important. But that's on me. I forgot something.
[00:36:04] Speaker A: I forgot to do something as well. The shadows were supposed to have the first flame fire damage. But, you know, we live and learn.
[00:36:10] Speaker C: It happens.
[00:36:12] Speaker A: So Boz is going to cast iron objurate at the.
Oh, man.
[00:36:21] Speaker C: What? How? Remember, you've already.
Greta is already under obr.
[00:36:25] Speaker A: She is.
[00:36:26] Speaker C: So you don't have to cast.
[00:36:27] Speaker A: She is. I just. I only have so many spell slots, so I'm trying to. I'm just trying to do the math about what it's going to get me. So fifth level will get me three.
[00:36:35] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:36:37] Speaker A: So I'm going to cast objur, and I'm going to target myself.
Okay, Craig.
[00:36:47] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:36:48] Speaker A: And there's you.
Myself.
[00:36:52] Speaker C: I'm just going to use blessed circles for objurated.
[00:36:55] Speaker A: That's okay. Oh, man.
And then as I go to touch row and Greta, can I make.
[00:37:02] Speaker C: Can Greta. Greta's already been objurated.
[00:37:06] Speaker A: You're right. So just row. It's row and tell. I'm going to have to objurate.
[00:37:09] Speaker C: You walk over to do you get tello or row?
[00:37:11] Speaker A: I get row.
[00:37:15] Speaker B: And what does that do?
[00:37:16] Speaker A: It prevents you from being charmed.
Wait, let me read it.
I don't know if it's going to do anything.
She might not be charming.
OB is immune to being charmed and has advantage on charisma saving throws. So you have advantage on charisma saving throw throws. And then as a bonus action, I am going to say the sylvan word for defense. And my shield comes up on my arm.
[00:37:53] Speaker C: The Shield pops out of boss's arm as the. As the ogres wind themselves up.
[00:37:58] Speaker A: And then I want to spend my movement. Movement moving towards the center of the room.
[00:38:02] Speaker C: Okay, you've gone five, ten to get to. Well, you could have gone just one to get to Ro.
[00:38:07] Speaker A: I was right next to the.
[00:38:09] Speaker C: Yeah, right here. So you moved one.
[00:38:11] Speaker A: I had to be right next to her to use the shadows. The shadows.
[00:38:15] Speaker C: Yep. She was in this space with Craig.
[00:38:17] Speaker A: Oh, got it, got it.
[00:38:18] Speaker C: She was here with Greg. Okay, you're there. You moved over five feet to get to row, but you can go 5, 5, 10, 15 and be at the center. Right there.
[00:38:25] Speaker D: There.
[00:38:25] Speaker A: Yes, yes, yes.
Okay, Do I see her within 30ft of me? Cuz she Misty step a.
[00:38:33] Speaker C: Yes, she did make a perception check.
[00:38:36] Speaker A: And just to make sure this is at. Is this at disadvantage?
No, I just have reducing sight to 30ft.
[00:38:44] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:38:45] Speaker A: No, and I have disadvantage checks on perception checks is what it says.
That's what I wrote down at least.
[00:38:50] Speaker C: I mean, let me check my own rules.
There's so much going on.
Yes.
[00:39:01] Speaker A: Well, I rolled a NAT one, so I don't see anything.
[00:39:07] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:39:08] Speaker A: But here's, here's the thing. As I walk up to the thing, I want to see what's inside the thing. Like if there's anything inside this.
[00:39:14] Speaker C: Okay, Boss, as you look at, I mean, we're definitely stretching action economy here, but you're literally just looking. So in the briefest sense, as you glance into this pillar, it's like 4ft tall, comes up to your chest, and it's just this like carved. It's not ornate.
The stone is like very. Which is weird because the rest of the chain is very exactly carved. The stone pillar. The outside is smooth, but the. The center has just been like harshly and brashly chipped away. And it's just like a groove. Like a weird, uneven, harshly made like 3 inch groove in the stone. And all that you can get is that there are little chunks of adhered, desiccated flesh in the groove.
[00:40:00] Speaker A: Okay, that's Boz's turn.
[00:40:02] Speaker C: That's what you see.
Okay, excellent.
Next on initiative is Craig. Craig, what are you doing?
[00:40:12] Speaker D: Hold on, hold on. Okay, wait. So I don't know where she is?
[00:40:17] Speaker C: No.
[00:40:19] Speaker D: Look at the battle map. See, that's tough because everything I have, it's very tough.
I'm the green one, right?
[00:40:28] Speaker C: You're the green one. No, you're blue. Green is. Green is green for Greta.
[00:40:34] Speaker D: Okay, okay. Okay. Oh, shoot. I was hoping. I wasn't sure I was falling in the initiative.
[00:40:41] Speaker C: That's okay.
[00:40:46] Speaker D: I wish I could do dispel magic.
That wouldn't do much.
Can I hold on. I want to do bless as like a.
Like, I can bless up to three creatures of my choice within range. Whenever a target makes an attack, roll, or saving throw before the spell ends, the target can roll a D4 and add the number rolled to the attack attack or saving throw. I think I'm gonna bless three people.
[00:41:31] Speaker C: Okay. I have already used the blessed things for everyone, so I'm gonna use the stunned things to represent obdurated now.
So objurated, not stunned positive instead of negative.
Sorry. I'm sorry. Craig, you're saying? No, don't apologize.
[00:41:48] Speaker D: I'm gonna bless Craig. Not Craig. That's me. Ro.
Greta Landon. Too far out, because is.
[00:42:03] Speaker C: What's your range on on bless. What's your range in the spell description?
[00:42:06] Speaker D: It's up to 30ft.
[00:42:08] Speaker C: No, you can get him.
[00:42:10] Speaker D: Okay, I'm gonna bless him, too.
[00:42:12] Speaker C: Which means you're concentrating. This. This is episode 140, conditioning.
[00:42:18] Speaker D: Wait, it is concentration?
[00:42:20] Speaker C: Yes?
[00:42:21] Speaker D: No.
[00:42:21] Speaker C: Yeah, I believe.
[00:42:22] Speaker D: I thought it was. No, it's. It is.
[00:42:25] Speaker A: Yes.
That's okay. You're not concentrating on anything else right.
[00:42:29] Speaker D: Now, so I don't see concentration on anything.
[00:42:32] Speaker C: If you go to duration up to.
[00:42:35] Speaker D: One minute, what does it say after that?
[00:42:38] Speaker C: And maybe I'm wrong.
[00:42:40] Speaker D: All I see is up to one minute. Could you all help me check that?
[00:42:43] Speaker B: Because what is it see exactly.
[00:42:46] Speaker A: Real quick.
I'm step away while y' all figure this out.
[00:42:49] Speaker C: Sorry. Yeah, yeah. Micah, are you googling it or using a player's handbook?
[00:42:53] Speaker B: So this is concentration really?
[00:42:56] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:42:57] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:42:57] Speaker D: Okay. I don't.
[00:42:58] Speaker B: Hold on concentration. Up to one minute is the duration.
[00:43:03] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:43:05] Speaker C: Oh, awesome. Are you looking it up? On dnd beyond.
[00:43:10] Speaker D: So.
[00:43:11] Speaker B: Oh, is it no longer concentration?
[00:43:13] Speaker C: What? Where did you look this up?
[00:43:16] Speaker D: I. I looked it up. It. It. I think it was on Wiki Wiki.
[00:43:22] Speaker C: That's usually so accurate. D and D Wiki is so accurate.
[00:43:25] Speaker D: I know.
[00:43:31] Speaker C: Okay. On wiki.it's concentration. But on. On D and D beyond, it's no longer concentration, which is a perfect example of how the 2024 rules make everything more confusing in 2014. This is a concentration spell.
Now you can continue. You can. You can be concentrated on it. Micah. Or if you're like, no icky, stinky concentration, I don't want to use it. I'll let you undo that and do something different if you want.
[00:43:55] Speaker D: I would prefer not to use concentration.
[00:43:57] Speaker C: Okay.
Okay. Then it is on you. Can you. You had no way of knowing that from the resources at your disposal. So I'm not going to penalize you for that inconsistency of information. What would you like to do instead?
[00:44:12] Speaker B: Craig has unthought.
[00:44:14] Speaker D: I would prefer.
So I can no longer use Bless.
[00:44:20] Speaker C: You can absolutely use Bless. You can cast the spell you wanted to cast if you want.
[00:44:25] Speaker D: Yes, I. I would like to do Bless. I just didn't. Are we determined that it's a concentration or that it's just a.
[00:44:31] Speaker C: We use. We use the 2014 rules unless someone makes an explicit request. Otherwise, just because I. I'd like to not have to rememberize every rule in the game.
[00:44:41] Speaker D: Got it. Okay.
So I will.
I will abide and respect that.
[00:44:49] Speaker C: Now, if you want to make a request outside of the session about it, we can totally talk about it.
[00:44:55] Speaker D: Okay.
I mean. Okay, I guess I'll concentrate. It's not that in the world.
[00:45:00] Speaker C: All right. The rings are going back out.
[00:45:02] Speaker D: Sorry, guys.
[00:45:03] Speaker C: That's okay.
That's okay.
[00:45:06] Speaker D: Learning this for the first time, but.
[00:45:09] Speaker C: That'S totally fine, dude.
[00:45:10] Speaker D: You guys get D4s to add on to things.
[00:45:14] Speaker C: Cool.
Okay, so Ro is blessed.
Greta is blessed.
Boz is blessed.
[00:45:23] Speaker D: It's the chick Fil a way.
[00:45:26] Speaker C: Craig, what does it look like as you bless half the party? Could you describe that for me?
[00:45:31] Speaker D: Okay.
I. I would like to blow kisses to all of them.
[00:45:37] Speaker C: I love it.
All right, so Craig, in this dark, shadowy chamber after a life threatening experience, he goes.
And as he does, the mu turns into like in like deep magic, many voices. And there's like a little spout of gold fire off his lips each time. And as he does over each of your hearts under the water, there's this very brief like gouts of gold flame around your chest.
And both Roe and Greta and Boz are all blessed. Which means that you can add D4s to your ability checks, saving throws and attack rolls. I believe if you want to check.
[00:46:21] Speaker B: Me on that, it's saving throws and attack rolls.
It doesn't say anything about ability checks.
[00:46:29] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:46:29] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:46:29] Speaker C: Thank you, Jackie. Excellent. Awesome turn. Craig, do you want to use any movement or anything? Or are you good where you are?
Micah.
[00:46:41] Speaker D: Where are the dead people?
[00:46:43] Speaker C: Everywhere. Absolutely.
[00:46:45] Speaker D: Even behind us?
[00:46:47] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:46:51] Speaker D: I think I'm going to join.
I think I'm going to join Boz in the middle man.
[00:46:59] Speaker C: First Craig says, p hiss on recording. Then he says, heck, I don't know what's happening with Micah, but this chick fil a bad inflows. Where exactly do you want to be.
[00:47:07] Speaker D: On the podium holding his hand.
[00:47:10] Speaker C: Actually on the right side, the left side behind.
[00:47:13] Speaker D: I'm going to say.
Do you see? I'm going to par. I'm going to parallel him. I'm going to. I'm going to be right.
No, no. Like on the same podium right here, but like where you were first.
[00:47:30] Speaker C: Here. Okay.
[00:47:30] Speaker D: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:47:33] Speaker C: 25, 30. Do dwarves have 25 or 30ft of movement?
[00:47:38] Speaker D: That's a great question.
And we're not in water. Right.
[00:47:43] Speaker C: 35 are in water. The party has spent the entire time in water. Oh, that's right. Everyone's movement is halved.
[00:47:51] Speaker A: All right.
[00:47:51] Speaker C: Oops.
[00:47:52] Speaker A: I. Boss's movement is not halved.
[00:47:55] Speaker C: Yep.
Okay. Craig has 15. Boss isn't. Craig has 15ft of movement.
[00:48:02] Speaker D: So I move 15ft in his direction.
[00:48:06] Speaker C: Okay. I'll put your.
[00:48:08] Speaker D: Cuz I'm one of these.
[00:48:09] Speaker C: What you said is you can.
[00:48:10] Speaker D: I'm going.
[00:48:10] Speaker C: Okay. You're over there with him and you're his bestie. Craig, could you make a perception check for me?
[00:48:14] Speaker D: Hard.
[00:48:16] Speaker A: I will do so disadvantage.
[00:48:21] Speaker D: This is why.
[00:48:22] Speaker A: Because it's the thing. The dungeon condition.
[00:48:27] Speaker D: I hate that. I hate your guts for that.
So that's a.
That's a five. That's a five.
Actually, it was not a five originally.
[00:48:37] Speaker C: But now it's a five, so it wasn't originally. Zach.
Okay.
[00:48:42] Speaker D: It's okay.
[00:48:44] Speaker C: Okay, so, Craig, you just see silt in darkness and panic. All right, next up is Greta. Row is on deck.
[00:48:55] Speaker E: Okay. Salvin's still in the park.
[00:48:59] Speaker C: No one sees her at the moment. She could be near someone. She could be far. No one knows.
What you doing, Greta?
I sure hope Abby's not talking.
[00:49:19] Speaker E: Hold on.
[00:49:19] Speaker B: Sorry, it's cutting out.
[00:49:22] Speaker C: All a sudden. It came back in and she said.
[00:49:24] Speaker A: Hold on.
[00:49:24] Speaker C: I'm sorry.
No, real.
Yeah, maybe try talking louder for a sustained amount of time.
[00:49:39] Speaker D: Hello?
[00:49:40] Speaker E: Can you guys hear me now?
[00:49:41] Speaker C: We can hear you perfectly. I don't know what you changed.
[00:49:43] Speaker E: Okay. Yeah, I got a call in my phone.
Anyway. Okay. What was Sal wearing? But did you have clothes on?
[00:49:55] Speaker C: No.
[00:49:57] Speaker E: She did not.
[00:49:59] Speaker C: No. Naked.
[00:50:01] Speaker E: Okay.
Did she have a focus?
[00:50:07] Speaker C: She didn't appear to.
[00:50:10] Speaker E: Okay, let me read.
Okay.
Can I have the firepaw.
[00:50:24] Speaker C: That expecting a wow.
[00:50:27] Speaker A: I was not expecting wildcats.
[00:50:29] Speaker C: That's crazy.
That's. That's.
[00:50:31] Speaker D: You mean. Did you say Wild Cats?
[00:50:34] Speaker C: I don't know. Dude, I lent the book to you like a decade and a half ago. I don't.
[00:50:38] Speaker D: Wild Cats.
You get to sit in that called.
[00:50:43] Speaker C: What's it called.
Okay.
[00:50:47] Speaker E: Warrior cats.
[00:50:49] Speaker C: So what. What is going on?
[00:50:51] Speaker E: I would like to you cast locate object on Saline's hair.
[00:50:58] Speaker C: Okay. I'm gonna call casting locate objects on someone's hair kind of similar to casting a locate object on someone's kidneys.
[00:51:07] Speaker E: Okay, I, I, I.
[00:51:08] Speaker C: It sounds like locate creature.
[00:51:11] Speaker E: Okay.
Because you can a spell from located object known to you as long as you have seen it up close.
[00:51:18] Speaker D: Close.
[00:51:18] Speaker E: Within 30ft, at least.
[00:51:21] Speaker C: There's also a spell called locate creature, so I'm going to call that a different spell.
[00:51:26] Speaker E: Okay.
And she didn't have anything on her at all?
[00:51:31] Speaker C: Not that you saw.
[00:51:33] Speaker E: Okay.
[00:51:35] Speaker C: She seemed like a naked, crazy fish lady.
No. Micah, no.
Oh, well, now that you've done a heart emoji in chat. No.
[00:51:51] Speaker E: Okay.
[00:51:53] Speaker C: And Ro is on deck.
[00:51:58] Speaker B: Wow. Greta.
Well, gr.
[00:52:00] Speaker D: I'm gonna something up.
[00:52:02] Speaker C: Oh, I'm gonna. I'm gonna pressure a bit. Abby, not to be mean, but I. I do need you to make a choice here.
[00:52:07] Speaker E: Yeah, I'm. I'm reading.
Okay. I am gonna move up to where the rest of the party is.
[00:52:17] Speaker C: Okay. Where might that be? Specifically up to the. Well, I guess you have 15ft. So, like here.
[00:52:24] Speaker E: Here on this? Yeah, on the stairs.
[00:52:27] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:52:28] Speaker C: So you. You rush through the dense water as quickly as you can. You start working your way up the steps.
Do you do anything else with your turn?
Okay.
Road is your turn.
[00:52:46] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:52:47] Speaker C: Now.
[00:52:48] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:52:48] Speaker C: Here is where things get funky.
[00:52:51] Speaker B: Oh, no. Don't do that to me before my turn, flesh pups.
[00:52:55] Speaker C: Here. Oh, no to you.
Because you are the one who failed your charisma saving throw when you were cut by the tunnel.
[00:53:06] Speaker B: Me?
[00:53:07] Speaker C: Here's where things get funkier.
Me.
Yes.
[00:53:11] Speaker B: Okay. I couldn't remember.
[00:53:13] Speaker C: Here's where things get funkier. I was gonna open by doing this crazy reveal.
[00:53:18] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:53:19] Speaker C: And then Boz obdurated you, and then Craig blessed you.
[00:53:23] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:53:25] Speaker C: This feature does not have a description where you get to repeat your saving throw. You've failed. There's a condition to meet to repeat it, but right now you failed it, so you should just fail. However, Boz literally cast a spell, which description is you can't be charmed. And you have advantage on charisma saving throws. And your charisma saving throw is what you originally made to fail this thing. Okay, then Craig blessed you. So I'm gonna say you get the opportunity. Opportunity to repeat the saving throw, even though right now you should not have the opportunity. Okay, that's crazy.
[00:53:58] Speaker B: Thank you.
[00:54:01] Speaker C: Absolutely nuts.
[00:54:02] Speaker A: If she's immune to being charmed, wouldn't it also affect any conditions that would cause her to be charmed later in the future? Like the fact that that happened?
[00:54:11] Speaker C: So here's where this gets. Here's where this gets really interesting. First of all, what levels? Audrey?
[00:54:18] Speaker A: It is a third level spell.
[00:54:20] Speaker C: Third level spell. Okay, so the specific language of the spell is important, but so is the, like the level. You know, the idea being that like, like, this is a really powerful effect that doesn't provide a saving throw at this point. And so it can overcome a lot of things. But Ob. Drade has specific, like, language that, that, that speaks against that. Now where's the line on like? Okay, well, so does obdurate protect from someone from being frightened? Because a frightened is, is a.
Oh, my goodness. What's the, what's the school of magic?
Is it enchantment? No.
Whatever it is. So it's like, it's like. So is that a charm? Because a charm is technically when you convince someone to be your friend. That's what it is in D and D. So like, this is, this is closer to like a dominate. Is a dominate a charm.
You know, so like there, there is a version of this because obr. Pre. Prevents you from being charmed, man.
[00:55:26] Speaker A: Yeah, I think, I think that.
[00:55:30] Speaker C: Let's, let's review.
[00:55:31] Speaker A: And typically it spells specifically mention if something. Somebody's charmed or not. If it doesn't say that they're charmed for the duration of the spell, then it's not usually effective.
[00:55:42] Speaker C: This is, this is an enchantment spell.
Let's. Let's look up dominate person. It's not dominate person at all. It's her own sanguamancy thing. But I think obdurate fits this so specifically that, like, it'd be weird for you to cast obdurate and it not affect this somehow how dominate person is. That's the.
[00:56:02] Speaker A: It says would be charmed by you for the duration.
[00:56:06] Speaker C: Yeah. Okay.
[00:56:08] Speaker A: And I did cast at the fifth level.
[00:56:11] Speaker C: That's true.
[00:56:13] Speaker A: I don't know. I think it's a fair thing. I just didn't understand. I just. The, the spell read differently when I.
[00:56:19] Speaker C: A completely valid response. A completely valid response.
[00:56:22] Speaker A: But I, I, I think you're. I think your ruling is good. I just was confused.
[00:56:31] Speaker C: Well, I mean, I don't know. You're just making a really valid point is the whole thing.
Oh, also, Greta, you should have made a perception check on, on your turn. That's my bad. You have disadvantage. But you should have made a perception check if you want to.
[00:56:42] Speaker E: You want me to make it now.
[00:56:43] Speaker C: Yes. Okay.
[00:56:44] Speaker A: I mean, Objurade is a spell that you wrote, Zachary, so I'm down to even. Like, if third level always seemed bit. A little bit good for me. Like, it always felt like it should be a higher level spell. So, like, I don't know, like, I'm gonna.
[00:56:58] Speaker C: I'm gonna. I'm gonna stick with my ruling. I'm gonna stick with my ruling. And I'm gonna say that she gets to repeat the saving throw, even though she shouldn't get to. Now, the benefits of obdurate still apply. She still has advantage, and it's still a charisma saving throw for a bard. And she's also blessed. So good luck failing this.
[00:57:15] Speaker B: I have advantage on this. I can roll.
[00:57:16] Speaker C: You have advantage, and you're blessed.
[00:57:19] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:57:20] Speaker C: And you have your per diem if you want it. What did you get? Abby? Yes, Micah. What's up?
Fifteen. Yes, Micah.
[00:57:29] Speaker D: Okay, who's within five feet of me?
[00:57:34] Speaker C: Me, Greta, and Boz.
[00:57:37] Speaker D: Okay, thank you.
[00:57:39] Speaker C: Okay, understood.
What you get in your savings? Throw. Throw.
[00:57:44] Speaker B: 25. Work.
[00:57:46] Speaker C: Holy actual living crap. And with that, the big surprise twist of this entire encounter. And Sain's most powerful feature is just removed. Flesh Pup is inactive. Ro is no longer bound to it. So, Ro, you now get to take your turn. Instead of being completely dominated by sagine and commanded on your turn, turn to begin attacking your allies with the most powerful attack you had. I mean, like, so that just doesn't happen.
[00:58:15] Speaker B: I'm so happy. But, like, on one hand, that would have been kind of cool to see, but, like, on the other hand, I'm glad it didn't happen.
[00:58:22] Speaker C: It's also. So there was nothing metagamy about that. Landon was just like, this feels like a good idea. And then pulled the most clutch move possible.
That's amazing.
And Saggin's turn is functionally just removed from combat. That's amazing. Okay, with a 15, Greta, you do not see anything from where you are.
[00:58:41] Speaker B: Can. Can.
Can you tell? Okay, I was. I counted this out earlier, but I forgot now. How big is this room? Like, how far is from the room to the. To the end of the room?
Or would I not?
[00:58:54] Speaker C: I decide it's 75, so 71 wall to one wall. 75.
[00:59:00] Speaker B: Can I do a perception check to see if I can see spot her? Is that what Greta was doing? Is that allowed?
[00:59:07] Speaker C: You can make it now if you like. Yeah.
[00:59:09] Speaker B: Okay. Is that considered my action by doing that, or.
[00:59:12] Speaker C: Okay, I. I think I'd really like to establish at this point in the campaign that a perception check's just.
[00:59:17] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:59:17] Speaker C: Never an action. I think that's the goofiest ruling in the world. I make a perception check every moment of my waking life.
True.
[00:59:25] Speaker B: Well, it's not great. It's a 17.
[00:59:30] Speaker C: Your definitions are not great in every other.
[00:59:32] Speaker B: Well, for this. For this thing. Like, for this.
Yeah, see, that's what I mean. Like.
Okay, so I'm going to get. Okay, that's me right there. Sorry. I'm looking at the battle map. I'm gonna get up. I'm gonna use my full movement to go up there near.
Just how far can I go with my full movement?
[00:59:56] Speaker C: You could. You could get to right here or directly next to Craig. Whichever one you like more.
[01:00:01] Speaker B: Right there is good.
[01:00:02] Speaker C: Okay.
[01:00:03] Speaker B: And I'm going to.
I'm going to take a gamble. I'm going to take a gamble here, folks.
[01:00:09] Speaker C: Okay.
[01:00:11] Speaker B: I'm going to cast this.
And Zach, tell me if. If my understanding of the spell is is correct.
With Cry of the old Song.
Enemy creatures within a 60 foot radius sphere every direction so I don't have to see the person if they're in that 60 foot spear. Okay, that's what I thought.
[01:00:35] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:00:36] Speaker B: So I'm gonna take a gamble. Oh, man. And I cast.
And I'm gonna cast.
[01:00:41] Speaker C: Wow.
[01:00:42] Speaker B: I'm gonna cast Cry the old song.
Enemy creatures with a 60 foot radius spear must make a wisdom saving throw.
Conversely, your allies are emboldened by the mighty Song and become immune to the frightened and charmed conditions. So I mean again, but. And you are also all resistant to psychic damage for the next ally. And you all gain an additional 3D8 temporary hit points.
[01:01:10] Speaker C: Get dunked on, Solgi. Honestly. Get dunked.
What's your spell? Save D.C. row.
[01:01:15] Speaker B: Oh, it went up. It's an 18.
[01:01:18] Speaker C: That's really high.
Okay, she is in that space with a 14. She fails. O.
So how much damage does she take, Ro?
[01:01:30] Speaker B: She's going to take 7D8 psychic damage.
[01:01:35] Speaker A: How much super hit points do we get?
[01:01:37] Speaker B: 3D8, everyone.
[01:01:39] Speaker C: So everybody roll 3D8. Added on is temp HP and that includes tell.
[01:01:44] Speaker B: Okay, so let me roll my damage.
[01:01:49] Speaker C: That's crazy.
Okay, that's crazy.
You did the one thing I need you not to do.
Wow, you guys are doing real good. This could not be going more in your favor right now. Holy cow.
Lured the distance caster into melee. Then surprised with the the spirits. They all hit, including a crit.
This is wild.
[01:02:32] Speaker B: That is 31 points of psychic damage.
[01:02:35] Speaker C: 31 points of psychic Damage. Hot diggity dorp.
Okay, sick. Ro, what does it look like as you harm Salgein and heal your allies with your incredibly powerful spell?
[01:02:57] Speaker B: Yeah, so. So she.
She's gonna do this with the. With song splitter, I think, because that's the one that she had on her. And so it's gonna be this, like, weird, crunchy, distorted sound, like, reverberating out through the waves. And I want to say like. Or like through the water. And as she plays, like, ripples, like, go out, but they're. They're. They're like gold and purple, like, flowing to everyone.
And as she, like, kind of, it's. It's the song that she always does with this that, you know. And.
And as she, like, does it, like, there's like, waves that ripple towards each party member and, like, encircles them to inspire them. And then it's almost like.
I know it's not lightning damage, but it's also. It's. It's almost like, Like a. Like a shockwave through the water that just, like, goes out into the 60 foot to, like, try to find her.
[01:04:00] Speaker C: And as. As you.
And there's that through the water, writhing in pain in this spot right here, Saul Geen appears from the silt. She was hiding on the floor among the bodies with a 24 on stealth.
But as your wave ripples over her, she just, like. The other bodies, like, twitch from the motion, but she, like, makes a noise and pops up and you guys can see her right there.
That's awesome.
That's crazy. At the end of Ro's turn, Saul Gain's going to use her remaining legendary action to do least spell.
At which time.
Let's see, what does she. What does she do here? She can use a cantrip.
Let's see, what is she gonna do?
I think this is. This is crazy.
Also, given. Given that additive of cry, the old song, you guys are so ridiculously buffed against anything enchanting you. I don't. I don't know what could overtake your minds right now. You're so blocked off from that.
She's going to.
She's gonna make a range spell attack probably against Boz because. Because everybody's giving her a bad day. But, you know, and so she's gonna make a ranged spell attack against Boz with a chill touch. So she just hisses out at you. And her arm, like. It's like another, like, frame removal. Like, her arm is down and then her hand is up and there's just a. And this, like, These ice crystals just through the water until they hit you, boss.
And I roll a NAT1.1.
Boss, what does it look like as a spell fails to hit you?
He.
[01:06:06] Speaker A: He doesn't move. I feel like one of the shadows, like, stands, like, just, like, appears like, and then dissipates as. Like. As, like it comes across his face. And then he just, like, stares at her. He gives her the Little Mac look.
If you scroll up and see the Little Mac look in chat, his boss's.
[01:06:22] Speaker C: Booty looks weirdly juicier in that.
[01:06:24] Speaker A: No, not his booty. His face.
[01:06:27] Speaker C: You said the little Matt look. And that's the only way I know how to.
[01:06:30] Speaker A: I will not confirm or deny that, boss.
[01:06:32] Speaker C: What I've learned about Little Mac from this evening is that he was thick.
[01:06:35] Speaker A: He had to fight Mike Tyson. You had to be.
[01:06:39] Speaker C: Okay, so that takes us back to the top of initiative, at which point I'm gonna do the thing I should have done in the first place. And I need a volunteer to roll me a D4.
[01:06:47] Speaker A: Can I do it? Can I do it?
[01:06:48] Speaker C: Can I do it?
[01:06:48] Speaker A: Can I do it?
[01:06:49] Speaker C: You can do it. You can do. You can do it. You can do it.
[01:06:50] Speaker A: All right. I rolled a four.
[01:06:58] Speaker C: Okay.
Rolling a four. On the layer action, Sain's temple undergoes dance of the dead.
All the dead bodies in this place, all the dead bodies in the space, like, where they're all laying down the floor, they all, like, look like sil whips. And they all lift up off the floor, twitching and writhing violently.
[01:07:21] Speaker A: A flash mob.
[01:07:23] Speaker C: And as they all float up off and just suspend at different heights and in different positions, Sol Geen gains advantage on stealth checks to hide from you all.
And the entire space is now difficult terrain for you. You navigate. Oh. Which means that your 15 is reduced to a 7.5, which rounds down to a 5. Each of you all has 5ft of movement right now.
[01:07:50] Speaker B: Yuck.
[01:07:54] Speaker C: Okay, that's the layer action for this round.
Top of initiative is tell. What's he doing? This is a crazy bound. You guys are nerfing her. She's nerfing you. Everybody's looking at everyone and going, going. No.
[01:08:11] Speaker E: Hello is going to.
[01:08:14] Speaker A: Does Tello have any features or magical effects that he can do?
[01:08:18] Speaker E: He does.
Yes.
[01:08:24] Speaker D: Hey, hey, wait. Really quick. Zach.
Can it just be assumed that anytime someone tries to attack anyone within five feet of me, I use protect on them where I.
So that is a feature that I have protection when a creature you can see?
No, that's. Sorry, that's my. One of my. That's my paladin feature. So when a creature you can see attacks a target other than you that is within five feet of you, you can use your reaction to impose dis disadvantage on the attack roll. You must be wielding a shield.
[01:09:05] Speaker A: I, I sorry, Zach.
[01:09:07] Speaker D: Does that apply?
[01:09:09] Speaker C: You may do. So you have a shield. You may do it once because it is your reaction.
[01:09:14] Speaker D: Oh, it's only once.
[01:09:15] Speaker C: One reaction per combat or per, per round. So.
[01:09:19] Speaker D: Okay, you can do it.
[01:09:20] Speaker C: You can do it once.
[01:09:22] Speaker D: Okay.
[01:09:24] Speaker C: Yeah. That's the fighting style you get access to as a power.
Yeah. Okay, so you can, you can do it once in a. And then in the next round of combat, you can do it again. In the next round of combat, you can do it again. This is the second round of combat.
[01:09:41] Speaker D: Got you.
[01:09:42] Speaker C: So, and that's, that's for like a, like a melee attack, right? So like a spell? Well, I mean, actually no. You could, you could do it on a ranged attack too.
Once per round you can try and stick your shield out in front of somebody. Yeah.
[01:09:56] Speaker D: Okay, cool.
[01:09:58] Speaker C: Okay, excellent. So Tello is up. Then it'll be Salguin. Boss is on deck.
[01:10:03] Speaker E: Tello is going to try and hit her with chromatic Orb.
[01:10:09] Speaker C: Okay, tell me about chromatic orb.
[01:10:12] Speaker E: It's a 4 inch diameter spear of any energy. I just rolled a hit and it hit.
[01:10:17] Speaker C: She is beyond 30ft away.
[01:10:19] Speaker E: Tello has yet to see 90ft.
[01:10:21] Speaker C: Okay. Veil of decay blinds you from seeing anything beyond 30ft of view.
[01:10:28] Speaker E: Okay, so then he's just in the dark. So he is going to cast invisibility on himself and oh, towards where his allies went.
[01:10:39] Speaker C: Okay.
He can move five feet forward.
So Tello moves to here.
But he is invisible while he does it.
So Tello just whispers to himself, oh man, where did the entire party go?
And then he just.
And as he's just like, there's just darkness. And at the edge of Greta and Rose, incredibly high passive perception. You all watch a dead body just push to a aside and you're like, sain's over there. And even though you can't see Tello, you just hear like a whispering insinian voice. Go, guys, are you, are you up ahead? This kind of sucks. And that's, you know, Tell is behind you somewhere.
Next initiative, it's Sogi. Oh, excuse me.
Actually, at the end of Tello's turn, she's gonna use no, yeah, yeah. At the end of Tello's turn, she's gonna use all three of her legendary actions.
[01:11:47] Speaker A: Big moment, guys. Can I get some Ls in chat.
[01:11:51] Speaker C: Big Arf.
She's gonna use all three legendary actions, and she lashes out against the bodies of all creatures within 40ft, which is 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35. That's the entire party.
All the sigils in the walls of the room just light up with red light. And the whole room flares for a second, and for just that second, you can see her in the darkness.
And as you do, all of she's gonna use parac. Paracausal parasitism. And all of you all feel all the blood in your body just lurch everywhere in your body. Your blood.
And all of you twitch and flinch. I need everyone in the party to give me con saving throws.
Now remember, Greta, Row and Boz are all blessed.
[01:12:45] Speaker A: That means I get a dude. Does that get a D4?
[01:12:48] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:12:52] Speaker C: And bless is awesome.
[01:12:56] Speaker A: Okay, so boss did not roll super well.
And I am going pawn save. I get plus zero.
[01:13:04] Speaker C: Womp, womp.
[01:13:06] Speaker A: So my bless is a two. So that is seven.
I don't think I'm gonna use my per dm.
I think I am going to just eat it.
I'm going to eat it.
[01:13:19] Speaker C: Oh, my goodness. We're cousins.
What did Tello row, Craig and Greta get?
[01:13:28] Speaker E: Greta got a 22.
[01:13:31] Speaker C: Holy crap. I don't know about you.
And then someone else got.
Teller was not.
[01:13:45] Speaker A: Boss is gonna. Can boss do a reaction against it as an attack?
Like if she's attacking him, can he react?
[01:13:55] Speaker C: This is a.
Wow. What a good question.
I mean, it's not a weapon attack, and it's not even. It. It's just a legendary action. I'm gonna say no.
This is just a. This is just.
[01:14:12] Speaker A: That makes sense. That's okay. That's okay.
[01:14:13] Speaker C: Can I. Yeah.
[01:14:15] Speaker D: Can I cast guidance on myself? Would that do anything you can as.
[01:14:19] Speaker C: An action on your turn.
[01:14:22] Speaker D: Yeah, I got a 14.
[01:14:26] Speaker C: Okay. Tell her yeah.
[01:14:27] Speaker A: Did you roll your per diem? Oh, it's actually not to use it here. I don't know. I don't know.
[01:14:32] Speaker C: I didn't hear.
[01:14:34] Speaker E: Eleven.
[01:14:36] Speaker C: Okay. Eleven.
[01:14:37] Speaker B: I got R.O. got a 23.
[01:14:41] Speaker C: Holy crap. Okay.
[01:14:43] Speaker B: I did use my.
[01:14:44] Speaker C: Okay.
Thank you for telling me. I. I trust you guys to keep track.
[01:14:48] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:14:48] Speaker C: So Row and Greta both safe. They take half damage.
Craig, Boz and Tello do not.
Craig and Craig failed by one.
So you guys are going to take 66 necrotic damage.
5. 5 plus 11 is 16, plus 5 is 21. Everyone takes 21 points of necrotic damage except for Greta and Ro, who both take half, which is rounded down to 10. So everyone takes 21 points of necrotic damage.
You.
[01:15:27] Speaker D: You said 6. D6. I thought you said 66. I will take 21 over 66.
[01:15:34] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:15:35] Speaker D: Any day.
[01:15:36] Speaker A: Boz doesn't flinch as basically the golden shimmer of the cry of the old song like, flickers over his body. And he takes two points of hit of damage to his actual hit points.
And he just was like long walking eyes with this lady.
[01:15:51] Speaker C: That's awesome.
Okay, so Boz took 10.
No, boss took 21.
[01:15:59] Speaker A: Yes.
[01:16:00] Speaker C: Total. Sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt your flavor. I'm so sorry.
[01:16:03] Speaker A: So that's it? That was the end? That was the end.
[01:16:05] Speaker C: Tello took 21, Craig took 21, and then Greta and Roth took 20.
[01:16:12] Speaker B: Oh, so you mean 10.
[01:16:17] Speaker E: Well, yeah.
[01:16:17] Speaker C: Let me add it together.
Half of 83 is 41. Rounded down, she takes 41 points of healing.
Now, she can only take it up to her maximum.
Temporary hit points do not reheal. But you watch as some of the wounds on Salgein close. And she looks like she's fully restoring to her state, if a little less invigorated than at the beginning.
[01:16:39] Speaker B: This lady.
[01:16:41] Speaker C: Yep.
Now it's Saul Gin's turn, and she is going to.
What is she gonna do?
[01:16:59] Speaker A: Who took the most damage from that, by the way?
[01:17:02] Speaker C: Who?
[01:17:03] Speaker A: Yeah, like, who took.
[01:17:04] Speaker C: Damn.
[01:17:04] Speaker A: Like, who actually got hit by. Was it Craig?
[01:17:07] Speaker C: Craig, you and Teller?
[01:17:09] Speaker E: Okay, yeah, that was it.
That was down.
[01:17:18] Speaker C: She's gonna drop a cone of cold on you guys.
So I need everyone to give me.
I need everyone to give me constitution saber throws.
[01:17:32] Speaker A: And I do.
[01:17:33] Speaker C: Me, everyone.
[01:17:36] Speaker B: Me neither. Me and Boz are little babies.
[01:17:40] Speaker A: Little baby boy Zach.
Hey, that's pretty good.
[01:17:46] Speaker C: Baby boys. I'm sorry.
[01:17:47] Speaker A: I got a 21 on that one. 21?
[01:17:50] Speaker C: Heck, yeah. 21.
Ow.
[01:17:57] Speaker E: Wait, another sp.
[01:17:58] Speaker C: Everyone else's number of roles combined I got now.
[01:18:05] Speaker A: Sorry, can I take a reaction now?
[01:18:09] Speaker C: Yes, absolutely you can.
[01:18:10] Speaker A: That is, I'll do it after.
[01:18:12] Speaker C: Unless it specifies, like, a weapon attack. As long as it's.
[01:18:14] Speaker A: No, no, no.
[01:18:15] Speaker B: Can I add the D4 again?
[01:18:18] Speaker A: Yes. It's every Bless exist.
[01:18:20] Speaker C: Yeah. Bless. Bless every concentration. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
[01:18:23] Speaker A: Craig has to roll to see if he drops concentration. Yes, that's true.
So actually, I may not have gotten a 21 since.
[01:18:30] Speaker C: Since you took 21 points of damage, you. All you have to do is beat a 10. So make a constitution saving throw and beat a 10.
[01:18:38] Speaker A: Does he get a plus four on this, or. He didn't bless himself, did he?
[01:18:40] Speaker C: No, he did not.
[01:18:41] Speaker A: Concentration's not a saving throw. Which is interesting.
[01:18:43] Speaker D: Don't pressure me. I might flop.
So what am I rolling exactly?
[01:18:54] Speaker A: Just a flat 20.
[01:18:55] Speaker C: I think a D20. And then adding your. Your constitution. Saving throw modifiers.
[01:19:00] Speaker D: Oh. Oh, guys.
[01:19:02] Speaker A: For concentration.
Oh, nice. Craig's a beefy boy.
[01:19:07] Speaker D: That's a 13.
[01:19:10] Speaker A: Oh, Craig.
[01:19:10] Speaker D: Okay, we did it.
[01:19:13] Speaker C: Okay, so you guys are originally eight. Okay.
[01:19:16] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:19:17] Speaker C: Okay. So I got halfway through the saving throws. Craig got a 14. Boss got a 21. What did ro, Greta and Tello get?
[01:19:23] Speaker E: Greta got a 16. Tello got a.
[01:19:30] Speaker C: Teller. Got it.
[01:19:32] Speaker E: Nine.
[01:19:33] Speaker C: Okay. And then Rogue.
[01:19:34] Speaker A: I was doing 13.
[01:19:36] Speaker C: Okay, so am I correct?
[01:19:39] Speaker A: I'm presuming that I don't think I can actually hear Tello.
Wait.
[01:19:48] Speaker C: Okay. Greta and Boz save.
Craig, Row and Tello fail.
So Craig, Row and Tello take full damage. Greta and Boz take half. Landon, what was the reaction you said? Oh, my God.
[01:20:01] Speaker A: It's part of my Mad Prince feature. I can make her take 1d12. Oh, she has to do a wisdom saving throw.
[01:20:07] Speaker C: Oh, okay. Sick.
[01:20:11] Speaker A: No, sorry. Intelligence save. Intelligence. Intelligence saving throw.
[01:20:14] Speaker C: My bad. I don't think her intelligence. Stat. It's worse.
She got a 10. As we've established, she's not very smart.
[01:20:22] Speaker A: I.
There's like, a.
What did we establish? The color of the mad princes. Is it like, red? Like, green? It's green. I mean, it's green.
[01:20:29] Speaker C: Yeah, it's just like a fetid green.
[01:20:32] Speaker A: Okay, so, bo, it's a D12. So he. So there's like a flash of green like his. He emanates green all the time. Like, he's always emitting light. And there's just, like, a flash of green. And she just hears, like, crazy Fae, like, laughter. And she takes six points of damage. Psychic gift.
[01:20:48] Speaker C: Okay. Six points of psychic damage is damage. Especially against this lady dope.
Now, to what everyone else takes.
Uh. Oh, Spaghettio. Those were good rolls. That's 10. 22 plus.
[01:21:06] Speaker B: Oh, nothing.
[01:21:07] Speaker C: Plus 22 plus 5 is 27. 28 plus 6 is 34. So 34 points of cold damage to Craig, Row and Tello, and then half, which is 17 to Boz and Grena. 17.
[01:21:25] Speaker E: 34.
[01:21:26] Speaker A: How much? How much? Zach?
[01:21:28] Speaker C: 17 to Boss. And Greta, 34 to Craig Rowan.
[01:21:36] Speaker A: Yikes.
[01:21:36] Speaker C: Good.
[01:21:37] Speaker B: Ooh.
[01:21:42] Speaker C: She'S used this.
[01:21:44] Speaker B: Are any of the party members looking a little bloodied?
[01:21:47] Speaker A: Just for my own hello's invisible. So we actually don't know what he.
I don't think I can heal him. I. I have to sit.
[01:21:54] Speaker C: Yes, what's up, Micah?
[01:21:57] Speaker D: Can you repeat the number that belongs to me? To add to my HP or to remove from HP?
[01:22:05] Speaker C: You. You took 34 points of cooldown.
[01:22:08] Speaker D: Okay, okay. Sorry, I was. I was prepping for my round.
[01:22:12] Speaker C: Hey, I appreciate that you were doing that. You've come a long way as a D and D player and as a person who I admire more.
Now, not to be the stinky pooper, but it do be my job when I have this shirt on.
Abby, invisibility is a concentration spell. I now need Tello to make a constitution saving throw. And he needs to beat DC17.
[01:22:37] Speaker E: To Khan save.
[01:22:40] Speaker C: Concave to focus on his spell.
I'm drinking bullet bourbon, man. Craig has a lot of hit points.
That's low for him.
Craig. Craig's current hit points he has is at 97 are higher than many people's maxes.
[01:22:59] Speaker B: Now, at level 13, I'm way or go ahead.
[01:23:04] Speaker C: Would you get Abby?
13.
Tello is no longer invisible.
Okay.
Next up in the Initiative, she's out of legendary actions. Next up Initiative is. Oh, and then she's going to move.
Oops.
[01:23:27] Speaker A: Zach, if Misty Step is a bonus action, is she able to hide in addition? Is that like another bonus action?
[01:23:34] Speaker C: Or is it that something she can do? This is another. No, no, no. That was an excellent question. This is another funky thing about her and her lair.
When she disappears into the silt, she can. She hides.
She's.
This boss is much less strong. Not in her layer. In her lair, she's a big stinker. Pooples out of her layer. The party, I think, could eat her alive.
[01:24:00] Speaker E: Okay, I don't want to do that. That would be gross.
[01:24:05] Speaker C: Stupid joke.
Happy. Okay. Five, ten.
[01:24:12] Speaker D: Sushi.
[01:24:16] Speaker E: It's funny.
[01:24:17] Speaker C: Mike appears from sight because she goes beyond the veil of decay that you guys can see.
She's a stinky sudsy.
[01:24:25] Speaker A: Do we see what direction she moved in?
[01:24:27] Speaker C: Yes, yes. You saw her disappear over here.
I'm sorry, I'm blocking the camera over here. She disappeared over here.
Now, I'm going to make some notes for this.
Okay?
I found out the yellow marker doesn't show up on the camera.
I really like it. Oh, okay. So next up, Initiative is Balls. What's balling on there?
[01:24:57] Speaker A: I'm gonna walk over to Craig, I'm gonna put my hand on his plate mail, and I'm gonna say, trust the maker, and I'm gonna cast freedom of movement on him.
So now you are no longer impeded by water, and you can have your regular movement speed. And you cannot be Magically restrained.
[01:25:16] Speaker C: And that means he's also not impeded by this round's lair action. Him crazy.
[01:25:22] Speaker A: And then V has I believe, 20. He has a speed of 50. Cuz I have the shoes, the jingle shoes.
I'm going to walk over to her to where I last saw her.
[01:25:36] Speaker C: Okay, so that's 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 or 25. This is the last time you saw her?
[01:25:45] Speaker A: Has she come into my vision yet?
[01:25:47] Speaker C: But yeah, but. So before you move any further, why don't you give me a perception check. Oh, and I need to make a ocean because she's at advantage because this condition so. Pause. She rolled pretty crap.
What is that? Okay, as you like, as you stride magically, what does it look like? So the dense pressure of the water and the I. I want to be clear. Like 70 dead bodies in this chamber floating through the water are all like impeding your path. What does it look like as you magically move around them and are not.
[01:26:19] Speaker A: Impeded by like I'm very, I'm moving very smoothly with very jerky movements. Like all of a sudden, like just like moving around each body.
[01:26:26] Speaker C: Sick.
[01:26:27] Speaker A: Like almost like, like, like the very like mad prince y Feywild stuff.
[01:26:31] Speaker C: I love it. Very cool.
[01:26:34] Speaker A: And I got a 16 on my perception check.
[01:26:36] Speaker C: Well, she got 14 on stealth because that's where you then see her. Right here.
That's pretty awesome, dude. That's pretty awesome.
[01:26:45] Speaker A: And I want to walk right up to her. Yes. Yes. What'd you say?
[01:26:50] Speaker C: No, I was just gonna. It's fine.
It's very like slowed down quicksilver.
It's like, like it looks like the quicksilver scenes but very slowed down. So you're like, you're just like fluidly moving by a little extra like jerky fast as everything's like missing you. And as you ding a ling a ling over there and all the bodies miss, you notice that she's.
This is terrifying. You're in the dark and you keep losing her and she's killing people. But also it's kind of funny when you find her because she has to just play dead every time you hide. So as you're walking through the bodies, you see her just there on the floor. And then you're like, ah, that's you. And then you watch her go like.
And you realize that's her very what energy.
[01:27:33] Speaker A: So as I see her, I'm gonna cast vicious mockery as I move up to her and I'm gonna say it's a sea hag that stole your far sea Genius. And I'm just gonna cast vicious mockery.
[01:27:44] Speaker C: That's.
[01:27:44] Speaker A: So she has to do a wisdom.
[01:27:46] Speaker C: Save throw brutal killer thing to say.
That's terrible. 12.
[01:27:54] Speaker A: She has to beat a 19. Okay, so she takes four D4. No, no, three D4. And then I do an extra D4 of damage.
[01:28:02] Speaker C: Okay. Oh, heck yeah.
[01:28:03] Speaker A: So that's four D4.
So that is four plus four. That's eight plus one. Okay, five. No, no, nine. Sorry.
[01:28:15] Speaker C: Nine.
[01:28:16] Speaker A: And then another one. Ha. That's hilarious. 10. So she takes 10 points of psychic damage as I move up to her.
[01:28:22] Speaker C: Phenomenal. As you say that the last little bits of Greta's tongue spell are wearing off. So she understands you as you says it. As you say it. And you watch her just go.
And she just looks kind of confused for a second, and she's like, wait, what?
And pause his turn. Awesome. Craig, you are up in initiative right here.
You can have 30ft of movement again.
[01:28:45] Speaker D: Okay, Takes me like a solid three seconds to unmute every time I want to talk, which is really fun.
So can I welcome to them as well, since he is 10.
[01:28:59] Speaker C: 15. 20.
[01:29:00] Speaker A: 25.
[01:29:01] Speaker C: 30. You could get five feet away from. You could get like 10ft away from her.
[01:29:05] Speaker D: Okay, wait, my movement is 35.
[01:29:11] Speaker C: Your movement's 35.
Is that a holdover from when you were a barbarian?
[01:29:18] Speaker A: Good question, Zachary. Yes, it does.
[01:29:21] Speaker C: That feels like a holdover from.
[01:29:25] Speaker A: O.
Micah's getting checked.
[01:29:29] Speaker D: Hey, I don't mind. I want it to be accurate.
Paladin Ling spared.
[01:29:37] Speaker A: Last for an hour.
[01:29:39] Speaker D: That is a 30.
Why did I lose five?
[01:29:43] Speaker A: Because barbarians be quick.
[01:29:46] Speaker C: Well, here's what really happens, Craig. You don't have a 30 walking speed. You have a 25 walking speed. Dwarves have 25 like halflings do. And you gained 10ft of movement as a barbarian, so you went up to 35. But now that you're not a barbarian anymore, you are back down to 25.
So you have a 20.
[01:30:06] Speaker D: Hello.
I've got to get some better shoes.
[01:30:13] Speaker C: You need to get you some jingle shoes.
So if you go 5, 10, 15, 20, 25. We get the right bet.
[01:30:21] Speaker D: Okie dokie. Can I hit? I can't hit her, can I?
[01:30:25] Speaker C: Back shooter 15ft.
Okay.
[01:30:31] Speaker D: No. With my star splinter.
[01:30:35] Speaker C: I took a note. You used both of your star splinters charges earlier this day against the squid.
[01:30:41] Speaker D: There's only two.
[01:30:42] Speaker C: And also, for whatever it's worth, you've used two of your third level slots. I just thought you should know that.
[01:30:47] Speaker D: Yes, I do have that one. Noted.
[01:30:49] Speaker C: Okay, well, you have you could either use the rest of her remove to get right up in her face, or you could throw a spear.
[01:30:58] Speaker E: You could jump attack.
Nope, you can jump attack.
[01:31:03] Speaker A: That's lie.
[01:31:03] Speaker E: And could I use aab?
[01:31:08] Speaker C: Oh, no. AAB is true. Never mind.
[01:31:09] Speaker B: I'm wrong.
[01:31:10] Speaker C: I. I stand corrected.
[01:31:11] Speaker D: Hey, can I get. Is there any way I can get a little bit closer?
[01:31:16] Speaker A: There may be other things you could do.
[01:31:19] Speaker C: Dash action to get closer.
[01:31:21] Speaker E: But then you can't attack.
[01:31:22] Speaker D: Wait, but then I cannot attack.
[01:31:24] Speaker C: You'd be using the rest of your action to dash.
You can get up in her face, or you can throw a spear or anything else you can think of. Spell or anything.
Maybe even a subass. Who knows if you're trying to get really crazy.
[01:31:41] Speaker D: Well, ear momento for.
This is not what I was expecting.
[01:31:48] Speaker C: Was anyone expecting Spanish today?
[01:31:53] Speaker E: Well, I'm getting a little bit.
[01:31:55] Speaker D: Thank you.
[01:31:55] Speaker C: Purple.
It sounded like. It sounded like telo stressed. Greta is up next and Ro is on deck.
[01:32:03] Speaker D: I know, I know, guys, I don't what is draining. Smite.
[01:32:14] Speaker A: A different spell requires a melee hit.
[01:32:18] Speaker C: All the smite spells.
[01:32:19] Speaker D: My God.
[01:32:19] Speaker E: Think you can do sword stretcher?
[01:32:23] Speaker D: Well, can I use. Can I use.
[01:32:27] Speaker C: Yeah, you can throw a javelin at her all day long. You can.
[01:32:30] Speaker D: Yeah, yeah, that's what I'm gonna do. Hey, wait.
[01:32:34] Speaker A: Just to double check. Micah, do you have your stuff subclass?
[01:32:37] Speaker C: Sheet?
[01:32:38] Speaker D: Yeah, okay.
Yeah, I do. I have it on my. I just have to flip over to Google every time that I want to look at it.
[01:32:47] Speaker C: You could.
[01:32:48] Speaker A: Your subclass sheet is not on Google. I don't think.
[01:32:51] Speaker C: Yeah, but I think. I think she's got the document downloaded to Google.
[01:32:54] Speaker A: Oh, you have it uploaded like Google Docs?
[01:32:57] Speaker D: I have it.
[01:32:58] Speaker A: Yes. I am dumb. I have no brain cells. I am going to press prostate, prostrate myself on the ground and cry.
[01:33:06] Speaker C: Landon's going to prostate.
Landon, cast prostate at the third level. Prostate.
Oh, guys, don't look. Landon's prostating. Oh, gross.
Oh, prostation and the PIs.
[01:33:24] Speaker D: So can I.
Okay, I'm sorry, I have a quick little question.
So if I use my javelins, can I use draining Smite or Divine Smart or something like that? Or do they have to be melee?
[01:33:36] Speaker C: I don't think so, but let's check. Okay, well, well, well, well, well, well, well.
Let's check.
[01:33:43] Speaker D: Does it have to be? Because it's not a melee, is it?
[01:33:48] Speaker C: It's a weapon attack, but it's not a melee weapon attack. And I'm honestly impressed that you know that. And I don't mean that. Sa.
Micah. Micah, Micah, Micah.
[01:33:57] Speaker D: What's poppin smite spells?
[01:33:58] Speaker C: What is weapon attack? Not melee attack, Weapon attack.
You could throw a spear with a smite on it. That's awesome. You could smite her with a spear. That's so sick. So, holy crap.
[01:34:12] Speaker D: Can I do Improve Divine Smite at. I'm trying to think of the level I have.
Okay, two, three level. Could I do one second level slot? What would that. What would be the math on that? I always get very confused with this part. So Improve Divine Smite.
[01:34:33] Speaker C: You get it. You get confused because it's really confusing.
[01:34:37] Speaker D: Amen.
[01:34:39] Speaker C: Okay.
[01:34:42] Speaker D: Wait, what is.
[01:34:44] Speaker C: Okay, so I think.
I want to say it starts you at 3d8, but do not let me put my foot in my mouth.
Divine Smite. I'm starting to get used to DMing for a paladin. Okay, so 1d8.
No, 2d8 at a first level. So that'd be 3d8 at second level. But improved divine smite gives you an extra one. So it's 2. 2d8. If you use a first level spell.
Since you're using a second level, that takes up to 3d8. But improved d8 means you always add on an extra d8, so that puts you at 4.
[01:35:20] Speaker D: So it's 4d8 and your spear is a d8.
[01:35:23] Speaker C: You're just rolling 5d8 now. I'm going to check with your subclass really quickly. I didn't want to throw this at you too soon. You're starting to get the character down. So.
[01:35:31] Speaker D: Wait, so javelin's. Javelin's a 1D6.
[01:35:35] Speaker C: Oops.
And then.
[01:35:43] Speaker D: If I do my war. My warhammer's melee, though it's not ranged.
[01:35:47] Speaker C: Yeah, you.
I don't think you can. I think you also said you left him on the ship. I could totally be wrong.
I don't know if you're still carrying your warhammer because you have two magic swords, but I. Let me not be the Stinker pooper. Who'd be wrong.
[01:35:59] Speaker D: I think I would rather. I don't know.
[01:36:01] Speaker C: Okay, you can. You can huck your hammer if you want. You'll just throw it at disadvantage.
[01:36:08] Speaker D: No, I'm gonna stick with javelins. It's just gonna be 4D8 and then 1D6.
[01:36:14] Speaker C: Okay.
Okay, 48.
[01:36:16] Speaker D: And I also have to roll to hit.
[01:36:18] Speaker A: Yes, that is.
[01:36:18] Speaker C: Oh, look at you, Micah. How does it feel like to start getting really good at D And D?
[01:36:23] Speaker D: So that 17.
[01:36:27] Speaker C: It's a what? 17. That'll hit.
[01:36:29] Speaker D: Yeah, that'll Hit heck and sick, bro dog. Okay, one.
Okay, hold on, hold on. This is where the math comes in.
One moment. Okay. Five plus two. This.
[01:36:47] Speaker C: Am I making pizza eating sounds or no?
[01:36:50] Speaker D: No.
[01:36:51] Speaker E: Someone say pizza.
[01:36:56] Speaker D: So is it. It's 48 plus 1D6. Okay, that's 15 plus 4.
So that would be 19 plus my strength.
Amen. So it would be 24. 4.
[01:37:22] Speaker C: Heck yeah, bro.
[01:37:24] Speaker A: Wait, wait, wait. You also get 3D4 fire damage.
[01:37:28] Speaker C: Cuz you're next to B.
That's. That's a. That's a feature from Boss's subass.3d4.3d4 fire damage.
[01:37:35] Speaker A: What I would love to do, Zach, is like, hold up my hand and like this, the javelin will go over it and like, catch fire.
[01:37:41] Speaker C: And two landed. Inspiration. That's so cool.
[01:37:45] Speaker D: That's eight.
So 24 plus eight.
32.
[01:37:54] Speaker A: 32. Is it halved because of underwater Zachary, don't ask that.
[01:37:58] Speaker D: I'm just kidding.
[01:38:00] Speaker C: Oh, shoot.
[01:38:01] Speaker D: But if it's magical fire, that's four.
[01:38:04] Speaker C: It's four.
[01:38:05] Speaker D: So it's actually four damage.
[01:38:07] Speaker A: No, any fire I do overcomes it, but technically it's Craig gets coming. I don't know, Zach. You can say no.
[01:38:15] Speaker C: Landon's. Landon's right. Landon's right.
But I appreciate the honesty. I mean, you're. It's still. She's still down. Yeah, she's still down a ton of hit points.
Craig, describe what it looks like as you cast divine smite on a spear and then jab it into her. And as you do, know that Boz has like lit his arm up with frame, flame, fire, and you're throwing the spear through it. So describe to me what that looks like.
[01:38:44] Speaker D: I'm gonna say that he's gonna whisper an incantation. Is that the right word for it?
[01:38:52] Speaker C: Yes. Yes. You, boss.
[01:38:53] Speaker D: He's gonna like, hold up the javelin to his mouth, give it a little, little kiss, and then he's gonna like whisper, goken tiger. But like, in this incantation that like, takes like stretches out the words and then fold it over one another like candy. And they keep stretching out the language and then like wraps around the javelin.
[01:39:14] Speaker C: Oh, Mike.
[01:39:17] Speaker D: And as I'm like, throwing it, it's like the letters are like lighting up with fire on the javelin, and it like, hits in the neck.
[01:39:26] Speaker C: Micah, I'm going to need you to also take inspiration for that.
As you whisper in deepest speech and your eyes flare gold over the spear, the words stretch out in the water and like wrap to the metal, seem to heat it up in your hand and as your armor burns with the energy as well, you and it.
And as it lights up with golden fire, it would sublimate in the water, but the first flame doesn't seem to burn away. And as Boz's arm lights up with the fire, you watch her look up in fear. And the spear just cuts deeply through her shoulder before she can get out of the way.
That looks like it did some damage. She's starting to look a little hurt. That's sick.
Now it is Greta's turn, and Ro is on deck.
[01:40:10] Speaker E: So I can't see her, correct?
[01:40:12] Speaker C: No. You know where she went, and you watched where your allies went so you could try and get closer and see. You cannot see her right now. And you have five feet of.
[01:40:22] Speaker E: Right.
[01:40:23] Speaker A: Hey, but if you take the dash action, you can make it 10.
[01:40:26] Speaker E: Make it 10.
I don't think. I still don't think I'd be within three.
[01:40:32] Speaker C: No. No.
[01:40:34] Speaker E: Okay, well, then I am going to the cast on my track back.
[01:40:51] Speaker C: Now if you want.
I. I don't know if this is. Well, no, no, go ahead. You. You.
[01:40:56] Speaker E: No, you first.
[01:40:57] Speaker C: No, you.
[01:40:59] Speaker E: No, it goes.
I was already there.
[01:41:03] Speaker C: But if you wanted to get truly avant garde, you could try and heal someone.
You can see that Rose is doing pretty bad, but that is also crazy talk.
[01:41:17] Speaker B: So I can also heal myself if you need to do something else.
I was gonna go for that. Not to mad again.
[01:41:29] Speaker C: But if you're feeling something else, do it.
I'm also not saying it has anything to do with right now, but remember, you have divine intervention back if you care to use it.
[01:41:42] Speaker D: I have what?
[01:41:44] Speaker C: Divine intervention back if you care to use it. I'm not saying you need to. Just remind me.
[01:41:51] Speaker E: Okay, I'm going to step in between row and hello so that I want to be within 15ft of both of them.
[01:41:59] Speaker C: Okay.
[01:42:00] Speaker E: Well, I guess I will have limbs.
Am I.
[01:42:05] Speaker D: Am I.
[01:42:09] Speaker E: Okay? I'm going to. Oh, I can't. You can only cast one spell on it, right?
That. Yes.
[01:42:21] Speaker C: What. What. What would you say? Sorry, I'm.
[01:42:23] Speaker E: You can only. I was gonna do action and a bonus action. But you can only cast Fell in a turn.
[01:42:28] Speaker B: Right?
[01:42:28] Speaker E: Right.
[01:42:29] Speaker C: One level spell. You could go spell cantrip. But one. One level spell on the turn.
[01:42:34] Speaker E: Right.
Okay. I am going to ask a healing word.
[01:42:48] Speaker C: On what level are you.
[01:42:56] Speaker E: I'm gonna.
I'm gonna cast it at the.
[01:43:03] Speaker C: Actually.
[01:43:10] Speaker E: I might do prayer of healing instead.
Well, prayer of healing.
I get prayers of healing.
[01:43:18] Speaker C: That's true.
That's true.
[01:43:21] Speaker E: Yeah. I'm gonna do I'm gonna do prayer of healing instead.
Okay, so that is.
Oh, it takes 10 minutes. I'm gonna do healing word.
[01:43:40] Speaker C: And Greta sits down, and she goes. Now, hold on.
[01:43:44] Speaker B: Give me a second.
[01:43:46] Speaker E: I'm gonna do healing word at the third level.
[01:43:54] Speaker C: Okay. Sick dang. 3D4 plus your modifier.
[01:44:01] Speaker E: And my modifier is.
So I'll roll this.
Yeah, no, no.
[01:44:11] Speaker C: No.
[01:44:11] Speaker E: That's it.
[01:44:13] Speaker C: Okay. Did you roll Healing?
[01:44:16] Speaker E: Yeah.
[01:44:19] Speaker C: You're saying that's it for my turn?
[01:44:21] Speaker E: Yeah, that's it for my turn. I'm gonna roll healing.
[01:44:26] Speaker B: Wait, who is the healing for?
[01:44:28] Speaker E: Hello.
[01:44:29] Speaker C: Hello, Abby.
[01:44:32] Speaker E: No, it's just for.
It's just for Ro.
[01:44:36] Speaker C: Okay.
[01:44:36] Speaker E: No, yeah, go for Tello, because it's not prayer appealing. That takes 10 minutes.
[01:44:42] Speaker C: Excellent. Okay.
What does it look like as Greta cast Prayer of healing or Healing Word? Whatever.
[01:45:02] Speaker A: Comes to mind.
[01:45:02] Speaker C: I'm not trying to force it on you.
[01:45:04] Speaker E: She says a Tello taught her, like, a folk prayer, and she just says that and, like, pushes.
[01:45:15] Speaker B: Wait, Healing word is a bonus action.
[01:45:19] Speaker E: Yeah, but I.
Oh, okay. I was gonna do spirit guardians and Healing Word, but.
[01:45:25] Speaker C: Oh, that's awesome.
[01:45:27] Speaker E: It would have been.
[01:45:29] Speaker C: Okay, Well, a practical turn in a tough situation. Row, you are up.
And after this, it'll. It'll go back to the top.
[01:45:35] Speaker B: Okay.
I am going to.
I'm gonna cast cure wounds on myself at the third level just because I am way past the bloodied.
Yeah. And so that is gonna be.
[01:46:01] Speaker A: I need to check something.
[01:46:03] Speaker C: Do it.
[01:46:17] Speaker B: 23 points of healing for myself, kneeling.
[01:46:20] Speaker C: That's a lot.
[01:46:21] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:46:22] Speaker A: How far away is row from me?
Oh, pretty far.
[01:46:26] Speaker C: She is.
[01:46:26] Speaker A: Never mind.
[01:46:27] Speaker C: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30.
[01:46:30] Speaker A: Never mind. Doesn't matter.
[01:46:35] Speaker B: And then I'm going to.
While I was healing myself, I was playing a little diddy.
And let's see. See who's closest to me. Greta. So I'm going to give Greta Bardic inspiration, which is a D10.
[01:46:53] Speaker C: I'm a D10 of bardic inspiration.
[01:46:56] Speaker E: Awesome.
[01:47:00] Speaker B: And that's my turn.
[01:47:00] Speaker C: Impractical turns.
You play the tune on the loot, and as you whisper to yourself your. Your wounds mend, Greta, you feel encouraged we go back to the top initiative with someone other than Landon.
[01:47:14] Speaker E: Wait, Landon's. Sorry. Landon's. I just realized Landon's cloak things.
[01:47:18] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:47:19] Speaker B: Oh, yeah.
[01:47:20] Speaker A: What?
[01:47:22] Speaker B: Your cloak.
[01:47:22] Speaker C: Oh, Landon's cloak. You did not use your shadows.
[01:47:25] Speaker A: Yes. That was way back, Zachary. My. I was at the top of initiative, and I completely forgot to use my shadows. You did that with Dolgoth, and it didn't happen.
So. I don't know. It's just the shadow curse. We can keep going.
[01:47:39] Speaker C: I.
I don't know why you having that little fairness and mercy on me just now made me feel really emotional. But you being fair about that in the mistake I had made for some reason just made me almost tear up for a reason I can't put my finger on. That was really weird.
[01:48:01] Speaker A: I love you, man.
[01:48:01] Speaker C: Whoever doesn't have inspiration right now has it. Really like playing D and D with you guys. Whoever does it. Yeah. Whoever doesn't have it already has it.
That was. I don't know why that made me feel promotional. I think maybe I'm just really thankful I got to stay in the United States and play D and D with you guys. Okay.
So could somebody who's not landon roll a D4 and tell me what they got?
[01:48:21] Speaker A: If they roll a forge, they get to dance harder.
[01:48:25] Speaker D: That is what roll.
[01:48:30] Speaker B: I got a four.
[01:48:35] Speaker C: It's the same layer condition. Nothing changes. But now all the bodies are just.
It's. It's awful. It's one of the worst things you've ever seen.
[01:48:45] Speaker E: Super difficult.
[01:48:47] Speaker C: The dance of the debtor.
Okay, so it's Tell's turn. What's he doing?
Abby, that's you.
[01:48:58] Speaker E: No.
[01:48:59] Speaker C: Oh, okay, okay, okay. My bad.
Oh, we got the pterodactyl fingers.
Landon, it's hard. You forget.
Yeah.
[01:49:13] Speaker E: Hello. Is going to cast jump on himself.
[01:49:20] Speaker C: I love it.
[01:49:21] Speaker E: He's like, I don't want to be on the back.
I don't want to be in the back. I want to be in the action. Guys, I'm coming.
You ready for flying Tello?
So please, DM Please help me. Please help me with the math here.
[01:49:40] Speaker C: Okay.
[01:49:41] Speaker E: Hello. Has a 35 speed, but it's.
It's difficult terrain, and they're underwater.
[01:49:52] Speaker C: Huh.
So that he's at like 10 right now.
[01:49:58] Speaker E: Okay. Oh, my God. I already done that.
[01:50:02] Speaker C: I don't know, but I love it.
[01:50:04] Speaker A: I don't think we've ever had to calculate jump before, but basically your strength determines how far you can jump and.
Oh, man, I gotta get myself.
[01:50:17] Speaker C: We're just gonna make this simpler and better because I don't care about this right now.
So ABCD H I J.
H I J. Where is jump?
Right here. You touch a creature, the creature's jump distance is tripled until the spell ends. What are the rules for jump distance? Distance of Deedee. Can someone read it to me?
[01:50:39] Speaker E: All I find it sees.
[01:50:41] Speaker A: Your strength determines how far you jump.
[01:50:44] Speaker C: Good.
[01:50:44] Speaker A: You cover a number of Feet up to your strength score.
If you move at least 10ft on foot before the jump, when you make a standing jump, you can leap half the distance of your strength score.
Either way, each foot you clear on the jump costs a foot of movement.
But also, if you're jumping into difficult terrain, you have to make a DC10 dexterity check not to fall prone.
[01:51:10] Speaker C: Okay? So here's what's gonna happen because I don't care about any of that right now. Abby, what's Tello's strength score?
[01:51:17] Speaker E: Tello's strength score is 10.
[01:51:23] Speaker C: 10.
If he runs 10ft forward, which is his full movement right now, he can then use 10ft of jump. However, since he's cast jump on himself, that means he can jump 30ft, so he can. He can move 40ft in a direction.
Okay. You okay, bud?
[01:51:44] Speaker E: Why are you in the closet?
[01:51:47] Speaker C: I'm sorry. It's just messing.
[01:51:50] Speaker E: 10. Just 5. 35, 40.
[01:51:58] Speaker C: He's gonna go 40.
[01:51:59] Speaker D: Where? Think.
[01:52:00] Speaker E: Oh, yeah, the square. Two squares away from Craig.
[01:52:04] Speaker C: Okay.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
[01:52:08] Speaker E: No, no, no, no. Two squares. He's like, on the edge of the pony.
[01:52:13] Speaker C: Okay.
[01:52:14] Speaker D: I'd like to think that he's leapfrogging over dead bodies.
[01:52:18] Speaker E: He's gonna run. Can I Wait.
[01:52:22] Speaker C: Yeah. Describe it, Abby. Yeah, yeah.
[01:52:24] Speaker E: So he runs in underwater, so it's kind of like, you know, weird like we described earlier.
Why?
Sorry. He's running underwater, so it looks weird.
And then he's. He's going to get a running start of 10ft, and then he's going to leap into the air.
[01:52:41] Speaker C: I love it.
[01:52:42] Speaker E: And his body's going to stretch out and just be in a wall.
So he's gonna. He's gonna, like, jump, like, die, like, like kind of sore. But as he's traveling through the bodies, he's just gonna, like, wiggle between them. So he's gonna, like.
That's amazing.
He's like, magically, there's, like. He's like, glowing with the color of his magic a little bit, and he's just gonna, like, snake through the bodies.
[01:53:08] Speaker C: So with this pale, silvery magic, Tello grabs his little symbol, whispers his incantation. He goes.
And he. As he, like, as he just like, like dives, like long dives, he, like, dives forward. But then, like, there's this little silvery, like, burst of illusory magic around him. Just. And then he just, like, just around bodies and row. You're, like, there in the dark, like, healing yourself, focusing. And Tello, just on your left, it just passed you and Craig from there's just a wall of silt behind you. And Craig, like a horror movie monster just emerging from the shadow is just long, long. Tello just like rolls and he like. He like, dives into a roll and he somersaults just up next to you. And in the dark he goes.
You call for help and.
[01:53:58] Speaker E: And then just for. Just for Cleaver. I know he can't die, but I want him to use his bonus action hide to like, like, very obviously into.
[01:54:06] Speaker C: The scene, he lands and he just.
[01:54:09] Speaker E: Behind a body.
[01:54:11] Speaker C: Yeah. And then there's a floating body and he just goes behind it. And his lower half is clearly visible, but the upper half is just behind the body.
[01:54:18] Speaker E: Yeah, perfect.
That's his turn.
[01:54:21] Speaker C: It looks like you had something to say.
[01:54:23] Speaker D: Guidance is an action, isn't.
[01:54:26] Speaker C: Is an action. It's very fun outside of combat. It's not made for combat.
Okay, now it's Saul Geen's turn.
What is she gonna do? Because she's not in a great spot here.
Could somebody give me some commentary really quickly while I make a key decision?
[01:54:56] Speaker D: Yeah. So if you haven't noticed, we've taken inspiration from Kermit the frog in many ways, more than one.
In the way that we eat our popcorn, we. We eat like frog. In the way that we jump, we leap like. Like frog. And soon we will all be green like frog.
[01:55:16] Speaker B: I'm already there.
[01:55:18] Speaker D: He's already there.
[01:55:20] Speaker C: There.
[01:55:21] Speaker D: Take a look around.
Y. Some of y' all get that, some of y' all don't. That's okay.
I'm the W. I got it.
That's good.
[01:55:34] Speaker C: Okay.
[01:55:35] Speaker B: I'm no longer bloodied for Megatron, bro.
[01:55:39] Speaker D: I love that cat. Megatron is so funny. I had someone come through the drive thru and they said my. Can you please, please put my name down as Megatron, the destroyer of the something word that I don't know because I don't know that movie very well. But. And I did. His name was Megatron Destroyer.
And I just want to say if you go through drive thrus and choose unique names, you're my favorite person.
[01:56:10] Speaker C: She is going to two.
She's going to take the opportunity attack. She's going to take.
[01:56:20] Speaker A: Well, Zach, just keep in mind she will take opportunity attacks from me and all three of my shadows.
[01:56:26] Speaker C: That's crazy.
[01:56:28] Speaker A: And they're hidden, so it would get an unseen attacker bonus to their attacks.
[01:56:32] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, man.
I get. I.
You're right. I think she's gonna have to keep playing this game because it's so dangerous for her to make any other kind of decision.
Yeah. Okay.
You watch as she just like, hisses. She like goes to move and she watches one of the shadows just FL glitch a little. And you watch her get like, scared.
[01:57:07] Speaker A: And she doesn't know they're technically that she can't see them.
[01:57:11] Speaker C: Okay. She looks at the cloak and you remember her. Remember how bad that was?
And so she's gonna use her entire action to cast Misty Step, because that's how screwed she is if she doesn't. Also, I realized that I never made them take damage during cone of Cold, but I'm the one who forgot that. So we're just gonna keep moving.
And she just disappears into silt of bone and bone again. And I'm going to go ahead and make some notes for myself once more.
She just disappears on her turn again because she again has to.
Next up in initiative is boss. This combat is turning into a game of tag. This is crazy.
Boz, you are up.
[01:58:03] Speaker A: Yeah. Real quick.
I don't remember the details of this spell, but Boz would. So Landon is taking longer to read this.
[01:58:10] Speaker C: I got you, dude.
[01:58:10] Speaker A: I got you.
[01:58:12] Speaker C: How can I be helpful?
[01:58:14] Speaker A: Oz is going to cast fire shield on himself.
[01:58:18] Speaker C: Okay.
[01:58:19] Speaker A: And he's going to do regular fire.
[01:58:23] Speaker C: Now. You're. You're finally concentrating, right?
[01:58:26] Speaker A: No, this is not concentration.
[01:58:28] Speaker C: Awesome.
[01:58:30] Speaker A: Yeah.
Boss is not concentrate. Let me double check because I know it's. I know it's wild, but I'm fairly certain. No, not concentrate.
[01:58:37] Speaker C: Let's assume you're right.
[01:58:41] Speaker A: And I have resistance to cold damage, which is gonna be great.
[01:58:46] Speaker B: And psychic.
[01:58:49] Speaker A: So he's gonna do that.
He's going to.
Then he has bonus actions, but I don't know what he could do. So that's his action.
He is going to move now. Zach, question for you.
[01:59:11] Speaker C: Yes, sir. Yeah.
[01:59:12] Speaker A: The sequence of events is she misty steps, she reappears and then she hides. Or is she able to hide in the middle of the misty step?
[01:59:22] Speaker C: You are not sure.
[01:59:24] Speaker A: So we can't. But there's no visual clues.
She'll go outside of our eyes.
[01:59:29] Speaker C: She just kind of disappears. And then you lose her.
She's a stinky little turd that way.
[01:59:37] Speaker A: All right, then I'm going to move.
I. I have a speed of 50ft and I'm going to move to.
Wait, how far away is healing word? What's the range of healing word? No, I can't cast a leveled spell. Can't cast a leveled spell.
[01:59:48] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:59:51] Speaker A: So I know I have bonus actions that I can do.
[01:59:55] Speaker C: Where Should I move your pile of condition rings to this? Comet is turning into a crazy game of tag.
Oh, shoot. Okay.
[02:00:11] Speaker D: Hey, wait, Zach, don't I have divine sense.
You do so I could literally sense where she is, right?
[02:00:23] Speaker C: I know, buddy, that's. It's not a feature meant for combat. I'm sorry.
[02:00:27] Speaker D: It's okay.
So great.
[02:00:31] Speaker C: It's like a dungeon dive or create pre combat kind of feature.
[02:00:34] Speaker D: But in a second, she's going down.
[02:00:37] Speaker A: Can I move just 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50.
All right, Zach, so you know the stairs on the left, the. The square right below the stairs to the. At the very bottom.
Down one more.
No, no, I'm sorry. Towards me. My bad. Move to your.
Move to your right. One and then down one from that last square you were at.
Down two there. Boss is gonna move there.
Do I see her?
[02:01:18] Speaker C: Give me a reception.
[02:01:19] Speaker A: Let me get perception check.
[02:01:20] Speaker C: Give me a perception check.
[02:01:23] Speaker A: Oh, that is a nat 20. But it's disadvantage.
[02:01:26] Speaker C: Oh, buddy.
[02:01:27] Speaker A: Good. That is less good.
I rolled a 15.
[02:01:36] Speaker C: Well, with advantage, she rolled a 14. So you see her right here.
Her attempts at hiding are getting worse.
She's getting more wounded.
[02:01:48] Speaker A: I'm gonna move closer to her again as much as I can.
[02:01:51] Speaker C: How much? Okay, so you were.
[02:01:53] Speaker A: I have 50ft of movement and I have.
[02:01:59] Speaker C: 10 more. Dang it. You go 45, 50. I can go here.
[02:02:02] Speaker A: 10 more. Okay.
[02:02:05] Speaker C: Do you wanna go there?
[02:02:06] Speaker A: Yeah, I'll go there.
[02:02:09] Speaker C: This is turning into a really weird game of chess and I kind of love it.
[02:02:14] Speaker A: Like the pawn that won't die, huh? Trying to become a queen. All right, so that's boss's turn. Shadows can't do much. They don't have reach. Can they move? How far can they move from me? That's a question.
[02:02:26] Speaker C: They cannot move from you at all. They are bound.
[02:02:28] Speaker A: So they can. They can strike within five feet of me?
[02:02:31] Speaker C: Basically, yes.
[02:02:32] Speaker A: That's it.
[02:02:32] Speaker C: Yeah, they can strike someone next to you. That's it.
[02:02:35] Speaker A: Got it, got it, got it. That is it for me. I have flame shield. I am just. When she missy step boss just like, like angry noise. And then fire just came up from him. And it's like burning as the water.
[02:02:47] Speaker C: As you just tampered it went.
And it's cool because the fire coming off of you is like gold and like not burning up in the water. Craig, you are up. Greta, you're after that. And Ro, you're on deck up after that.
[02:03:01] Speaker D: Okay, so she is the black piece, the purple black one.
So I Still have all the movement, right?
[02:03:13] Speaker C: Because I. Yeah, Yep. You have 25ft of movement.
[02:03:17] Speaker D: So what would that get me close to her?
[02:03:19] Speaker A: You can get all the way to her, right?
[02:03:22] Speaker C: You can get right there. You could get. You could get 10ft away again.
[02:03:29] Speaker D: I'm so done with her.
[02:03:31] Speaker C: And the same is.
[02:03:32] Speaker A: Can Craig move diagonally?
[02:03:34] Speaker C: Yeah, that is moving diagonally.
[02:03:38] Speaker A: You're right. Dang, Craig. She's good at positioning.
[02:03:44] Speaker D: Okay, I am doing exactly.
[02:03:50] Speaker C: Except that I miscounted missy step earlier, and she went one too far.
Oops.
Because she was there. Next on the back. Smudge.
[02:03:59] Speaker A: Micah's face had so much Joy on it.
[02:04:02] Speaker C: 25. 30.
You're in range.
That's awesome. That's really freaking sick.
One second.
[02:04:15] Speaker D: I'm trying to decide what is.
[02:04:20] Speaker C: Well, while you decide, at the end of the Boz's turn, she's going to use legendary actions.
Oh, she keeps getting pinned down, and things are not going well for her. So she's going to keep taking the big swings. She's going to use paracausal parasitism again.
So you guys know the drill on saves. Let's see.
Greta does not have to. So everyone but Greta, Tello row, Craig, and Boz. I all need concept.
[02:04:55] Speaker A: Okay, I'm going to burn my inst.
[02:05:03] Speaker C: That's going to be time.
I.
[02:05:14] Speaker D: I'm going to. Oh, shoot.
[02:05:17] Speaker E: Hello. Got a knight.
[02:05:19] Speaker D: Oh, shoot.
[02:05:20] Speaker C: Okay, Tello saves, and he takes half.
[02:05:22] Speaker B: You have inspiration, Micah.
[02:05:24] Speaker D: I do. I'm deciding whether or not I should use that.
[02:05:29] Speaker A: I don't know.
[02:05:29] Speaker D: I think I'm gonna use it. I'm gonna use it.
[02:05:32] Speaker C: Okay.
[02:05:34] Speaker A: What type of damage is this, Zachary?
[02:05:36] Speaker C: Necrotic.
[02:05:37] Speaker D: 21.
[02:05:39] Speaker A: I got a 13 with advantage with easy.
[02:05:43] Speaker C: Craig saves 21.
And then what did boss get?
[02:05:51] Speaker A: 13.
[02:05:54] Speaker B: I got an 18.
[02:05:59] Speaker C: So only boss fails. So Craig, row and Tello take 10, and then Boz takes 19. Or no, excuse me, Craig row and tell. It take nine, and boss takes 19.
So that comes out to 27. 19.
[02:06:18] Speaker D: Guys.
[02:06:19] Speaker C: Six. 46.
[02:06:20] Speaker E: What?
[02:06:21] Speaker C: 46 halved goes down to 23. So she gains 23.
[02:06:26] Speaker A: Do I take 19 damage?
[02:06:28] Speaker C: Yes, yes, yes.
[02:06:30] Speaker A: I was looking worse than he ever has.
[02:06:32] Speaker C: Snap.
[02:06:36] Speaker E: I was doing damage.
[02:06:39] Speaker C: Tell took nine necrotic.
[02:06:43] Speaker D: Okay, I took nine necrotic.
[02:06:45] Speaker C: Craig, you would need to make a. You need to make a DC9 constitution saving throw.
No. 10 because it can't be less than 10. Yeah. So you have to take a DC10 con saving throw.
[02:07:00] Speaker D: That would be an eight plus. Oh, no.
[02:07:04] Speaker C: Oh, eight plus one.
[02:07:09] Speaker D: I can't use my tattoo boon, because that's just one short.
[02:07:12] Speaker A: Michael, what did you roll on the dice?
[02:07:15] Speaker D: A three.
[02:07:17] Speaker A: Oh, that is unfortunate. You could use desperation.
[02:07:21] Speaker D: I already did.
[02:07:24] Speaker C: Oh. Everyone is no longer blessed. But that bless. Hey, that bless came in pretty clutch while it was up.
[02:07:29] Speaker E: It really did.
[02:07:31] Speaker D: Guys, I don't want to met a game, but I also want to respect Yalls desire for this combat. I could banish her right now.
I'm just saying.
[02:07:40] Speaker C: Greg, win. That's not metagaming. Try to win.
[02:07:43] Speaker B: That is not meta gaming.
[02:07:45] Speaker C: Yeah.
[02:07:47] Speaker A: It'S not good.
[02:07:49] Speaker B: Okay, Hit points.
[02:07:52] Speaker A: So punched in the gut.
[02:07:56] Speaker C: Is it your turn?
It's. It's his turn.
[02:08:01] Speaker D: Okay, okay, okay, okay. Okay. So I have two actions, right? I can do two actions.
[02:08:10] Speaker C: No, ma' am. You have two attacks with a weapon. When you take your action, if you're trying to spell cast, everyone has one act. Melee classes can use two weapon attacks with an action. But yeah, okay, you could have three actions.
[02:08:25] Speaker D: Hold on.
I.
I think I am. I'm just gonna. We're just gonna try it. You know, we're gonna.
We're just gonna. Oh. Oh.
[02:08:37] Speaker A: What's so cool, Micah? I. I'm sorry. The only spell component is an eye item that's distasteful to the creature you're trying to banish. So everything about you in the maker is just like, exactly what this is fit for. So actually point that out.
[02:08:53] Speaker D: Can I take my. My symbol?
Oh, can I take my symbol?
And then, like, I'm right up to her, right? Like I'm right in front of her.
[02:09:04] Speaker C: You're right in front of her.
[02:09:06] Speaker D: Can I, like, reach out and try and, like, grab her by the neck and, like, push the symbol, like, in her face? Kind of like how you would, like, exorcism, you know, like, get out, demon. Damon, get out.
[02:09:23] Speaker C: You know, the way people. The way people famously exercise. Get out now and go on home.
Okay, so charisma saving throw, right?
[02:09:32] Speaker D: Yes.
[02:09:33] Speaker C: Okay. What's your spell save?
[02:09:39] Speaker D: It's a 15.
[02:09:41] Speaker C: Okay. Actually, let me ask you a different question. What's your charisma modifier?
[02:09:46] Speaker D: My charisma modifier.
Modifier.
Is it plus two?
[02:09:53] Speaker C: Okay, 15 is 12. Good.
[02:09:55] Speaker D: No way. It's plus three. It's plus three.
[02:09:58] Speaker C: Your spell save DC is 16.
[02:10:01] Speaker D: Oh, shoot.
[02:10:02] Speaker C: Three plus eight is 11. And you have a proficiency bonus of five. Now.
[02:10:06] Speaker D: You're right.
[02:10:07] Speaker C: You have a spell safety of 16, which also means that your. Your spell attack bonus is now plus eight.
So I have to beat a 16.
I'm going to roll this on camera.
I rolled a four.
She has a plus eight. That's a 12. So Craig, as you, as you grab the back as you like, reach out of her, she goes to run away. And as you grab her elongated neck, your metal gun like, cracks around her and she now she turns back towards you. Her mouth with the teeth opens up at you, and you pull out the maker symbol and you shove it in her mouth. And what do you shout at her with your magic as you banish her?
[02:10:59] Speaker D: I hope you're the first that dies when he returns.
Or like, don't take that break if he returns.
[02:11:07] Speaker C: Awesome.
Craig, as you knock four or five of the teeth out of her mouth with her. With your metal gauntlet, shoving it into her jaws, and you shoot the maker symbol halfway down her throat. There's just this gold flare. And then she just.
She's gone. She's nowhere.
[02:11:22] Speaker D: Do I get to decide where she banished where she's banished to?
[02:11:26] Speaker C: No, she goes to the astral sea. Now. That's part of the spell. Now, importantly, you're now concentrating.
She is banished for one minute. At the end of one minute, she will return where she left.
[02:11:38] Speaker D: No, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
No, that's not it.
[02:11:43] Speaker C: Okay, 10 minutes.
[02:11:45] Speaker D: Wait, can I read the. No, no.
[02:11:46] Speaker B: It's now ends before one minute.
If you can't. If you stop concentrating before the one minute, otherwise the target doesn't return.
[02:11:57] Speaker C: Oh, my bad.
[02:11:59] Speaker D: And it has to be it's native. If the target is native to a different plane of existence, then the one you're on, the target is banished.
[02:12:09] Speaker C: Oh, she's in a demi.
[02:12:10] Speaker A: Once she's native to Yala Brand. Oh, that's very interesting. That's so cool.
[02:12:16] Speaker C: No, no, hold on, hold on, hold on.
If the target is native to the plane of existence you're on, you banish the target to a harmless demiplane. While there, the target is incapacitated. The target remains there until the spell ends, at which point the target reappears in the space at left. Really bas.
[02:12:32] Speaker A: Oh, okay.
[02:12:33] Speaker C: The target is native to a different plane of existence than you're on. The target is banished with a faint poppet noise, returning to its home plane. The spell is before one minute, the target reappears.
[02:12:41] Speaker B: So it she does come back in a minute.
[02:12:44] Speaker C: Since she's from Yin, she'll come back. But what that means is you all have a minute to prepare. And at the end of a minute, she shows up right here.
So that's still pretty killer.
[02:12:56] Speaker D: Uhhuh.
[02:12:57] Speaker C: So since what do you Guys want to do in the next minute before she appears right back here.
[02:13:03] Speaker E: I want to take whatever how many seconds it takes me to walk over there.
[02:13:07] Speaker B: Yeah, me too.
I'm going to get over there.
[02:13:12] Speaker D: Do we get advantage on a time?
[02:13:14] Speaker B: I would like to go. I would like to go right by boss where I can reach out and touch bars, please.
[02:13:20] Speaker C: I assume the party's like that?
[02:13:23] Speaker B: No, I need to be. Be able to reach out and touch Boss.
Where's Boss? The red?
Yeah, because he don't look so good and Ro might need to heal him.
[02:13:36] Speaker C: Okay, this is crazy.
[02:13:37] Speaker D: Is she completely cornered? She can't get away, can she?
[02:13:41] Speaker C: I mean, she can move through here.
[02:13:43] Speaker E: But only before taking well, and she'd provoke an opportunity.
[02:13:48] Speaker A: I could misty step restart. How that would restart when she appeared.
[02:13:54] Speaker E: Guys, I have an idea what I can cast.
So tell me, do we want to be surrounded? Because I been wanting to cast insect plague. If we all sleep back, we could. I could cast into play and she couldn't.
[02:14:11] Speaker A: I don't. I don't think insects can breathe underwater.
[02:14:16] Speaker C: Shrimp.
[02:14:17] Speaker E: Plague.
[02:14:19] Speaker C: Shrimp.
[02:14:21] Speaker B: During this. During this minute, can I. Am I allowed to cast and heal boss?
[02:14:27] Speaker C: Yeah, you guys should be doing things right now. You have limited time and the clock is going down.
[02:14:30] Speaker B: I'm gonna.
I'm gonna heal Boz at the third level. I'm gonna cast cure wounds on him.
[02:14:38] Speaker A: Oz cast formidable foliage.
[02:14:39] Speaker D: Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. Okay, wait, Zach, what happens if I cast magic circle on this section that she is, and she just like, moves to another spot or like, I don't.
[02:14:56] Speaker C: Know, what is magic circle?
[02:14:57] Speaker B: Pause. You pause, you get 19 points of healing back plus 3D four.
[02:15:03] Speaker A: So that is.
[02:15:07] Speaker D: Plus four.
[02:15:09] Speaker A: Plus four. That's 12 plus. What did you say, Jackie?
[02:15:12] Speaker B: 19.
[02:15:14] Speaker C: Yes, Micah. She would just be shoved somewhere else.
[02:15:17] Speaker D: Okay, never mind. Okay.
[02:15:20] Speaker A: All right. So Boz casted formidable foliage on himself.
[02:15:25] Speaker C: And right now it all looks like seaweed and kelp.
[02:15:27] Speaker A: He also readies.
I think he's feeling really good for pizza too. But he. He wants to ready a spell.
[02:15:37] Speaker C: What?
Okay, what spell is he ready?
[02:15:41] Speaker A: He looks at Greta and he nods and looks to see if she nods back.
[02:15:45] Speaker E: Greta.
[02:15:47] Speaker A: Okay, I.
The specific thing we want to do is Red is gonna do something, and then boss is gonna do something.
[02:15:54] Speaker C: Okay.
[02:15:55] Speaker A: Waiting to do something.
[02:15:56] Speaker C: I trust you guys. So you guys both know what action you're readying, right?
[02:15:59] Speaker A: Yes.
[02:16:00] Speaker D: Oh, yeah.
[02:16:01] Speaker C: Ro, are you readying anything?
[02:16:05] Speaker D: Can I cast guidance on myself?
No, that would break.
[02:16:09] Speaker C: You can concentration.
[02:16:11] Speaker B: You can.
[02:16:11] Speaker C: You can concentration immediately. Come Back. Could I suggest.
Can I do action?
[02:16:19] Speaker D: Can I do. Bless.
[02:16:21] Speaker A: That's concentration.
[02:16:22] Speaker C: That's also concentration, Micah. It's all it. Or she would also immediately come back.
[02:16:27] Speaker D: I can do that. As I'm like. Like, she's about to come back anyway. This is the last thing I'm going to do.
[02:16:34] Speaker C: Could you give me a strategy check?
[02:16:37] Speaker A: Oh, my gosh.
[02:16:38] Speaker D: So. I'm so sorry. What is that one under again?
[02:16:41] Speaker C: Intelligence.
[02:16:42] Speaker D: Okay. Oh, shoot. No, that's the wrong one. Pick another, pick another, pick another, and then Ro.
[02:16:49] Speaker C: Are you readying anything thing?
[02:16:53] Speaker B: Yeah, I am. I am readying my.
[02:16:59] Speaker C: You have a lot of AOE. I know.
[02:17:00] Speaker A: That is 14.
[02:17:02] Speaker B: What?
[02:17:03] Speaker D: It's a 13.
[02:17:03] Speaker C: You have a lot of area of effect. 13, 18, 21.
[02:17:09] Speaker A: Boss is at full HP now.
[02:17:11] Speaker B: Cool.
[02:17:12] Speaker C: Awesome.
[02:17:13] Speaker B: I'm still not. But I'm still a little bloodied, but I don't think I can cast one.
[02:17:18] Speaker C: More time, can I, Craig, it occurs to you, you know, given that you have spells that make weapons much more powerful, if you readied a smite spell and just waited, when she came back, you could try to hit her with a smite right upon return.
[02:17:30] Speaker D: Oh, my gosh.
[02:17:31] Speaker A: I love strategy checks, Zachary. I think that is so cool. It's a way to, like, help the players if, like, if they would like. That's so. That's so.
[02:17:38] Speaker D: So wait.
[02:17:39] Speaker C: I feel. I feel like there are a couple.
Thank you. You. I really appreciate that.
[02:17:45] Speaker D: Can I do the shoot?
Just Divine Smite?
[02:17:52] Speaker C: Just.
[02:17:52] Speaker D: Can I just do Divine Smite?
[02:17:54] Speaker C: Yes, I have that Ready Divine Smite on Star Splinter. And you have it ready? What level you cast it at?
[02:18:00] Speaker D: I'm gonna cast it at.
See, the last one that I did, it was. It was a second level.
[02:18:08] Speaker C: Yeah. You've used two thirds. Second level and your fourth level.
[02:18:12] Speaker D: Yep. So I think I'm gonna do it at a second level. No. Oh, a third level.
[02:18:21] Speaker C: Okay. How many third level spell slots do you have?
[02:18:24] Speaker D: I have none now.
[02:18:27] Speaker A: You had three total.
[02:18:32] Speaker D: What?
[02:18:33] Speaker A: How many spell slots level 3 DF total?
[02:18:36] Speaker D: I. I don't have any more, but I have three. I had, like, a total of three, but I used all three.
[02:18:40] Speaker C: Oh, okay.
[02:18:41] Speaker A: Okay.
[02:18:41] Speaker C: Yeah, you use your last one.
[02:18:42] Speaker B: Am I allowed to cast cure wounds one more time?
[02:18:46] Speaker C: Yes, that can be. That can be the last thing we do. Yeah.
[02:18:48] Speaker B: Then I'm gonna cast cure wounds on myself.
[02:18:51] Speaker C: That's not a bad idea. On the second level, Craig, with.
So let's see. Third level, that means that's 5D8. 5D8 extra. So. So this if you hit with this star splinter attack, it'll be two. It'll be 2D6 plus 1 plus strength, plus 5D8. Oh, my goodness.
[02:19:11] Speaker D: Hold on.
So two. So be 5D8 plus 1 5D8, 6.
[02:19:17] Speaker C: Plus all your star splitter stuff, plus 2D6 plus 1 plus 5.
[02:19:20] Speaker A: Can Greta and I do our thing for. Can we, like. Can we, like.
[02:19:24] Speaker C: Absolutely. Is Tello readying any actions? That's really important to establish, you know.
[02:19:30] Speaker E: What can he hide?
[02:19:31] Speaker C: Well, not particularly.
[02:19:36] Speaker E: He's gonna. Yeah, he's gonna load his crossbow, actually, since we're close range, he's gonna get out his rapier and, like, just hold it.
[02:19:45] Speaker C: Excellent.
[02:19:45] Speaker E: Okay.
[02:19:46] Speaker B: When I casted cure wounds those two times, I gave Bardic inspiration to Greta. Have you used yours already?
[02:19:56] Speaker E: I have not. What?
[02:19:56] Speaker B: Dice D10. I'm gonna give Bardic inspiration to Boz and Craig on those two times that I cast.
[02:20:05] Speaker D: Okay, Excellent.
[02:20:05] Speaker B: That I did cure wounds.
[02:20:06] Speaker A: Whoever. Whoever got cast cure wounds on takes an additional five hit points of healing on top of whatever Jackie did.
[02:20:11] Speaker E: Really?
[02:20:13] Speaker B: I cast it on myself then Jackie.
[02:20:15] Speaker A: For that one time.
[02:20:16] Speaker C: What?
[02:20:17] Speaker E: And with that, I casted intelligence.
[02:20:20] Speaker A: I made sure that it.
[02:20:21] Speaker C: She reappears.
Sagine is back with all of your. So Saine just Sagin. Just.
She just coils back into herself, and she just does one more.
[02:20:37] Speaker B: What?
[02:20:38] Speaker C: And you guys are just around her in that tight circle. Boz, we're just going to do it like this.
Boz, your thing goes off. Then Greta.
[02:20:46] Speaker A: No thing. Greta goes first.
[02:20:48] Speaker C: Excuse me. Greta. Then Boz, then Craig, then Tello, and then Ro did not. She used her last thing to heal herself. And then we'll reenter initiative. Crazy. Okay, so, Greta, what are you doing?
[02:21:01] Speaker E: So I'm gonna take just a little, like, a. Not a full step, but I just want to, like, lean forward or step.
[02:21:08] Speaker D: Forward a little bit.
[02:21:09] Speaker E: And I'm gonna, like, raise my hands out over her and close my eyes and start muttering in this, like. I want to do it in a language that she.
Like, in a. In a tone and intonation that I would recognize.
And I want to.
So I'm gonna step out and start whispering, and I'm gonna cast the stow curse on her.
She has to make a wisdom saving throw.
[02:21:35] Speaker C: She's famously good at those 12. She fails, she is cursed.
[02:21:42] Speaker E: Okay.
[02:21:43] Speaker D: She.
[02:21:44] Speaker E: I'm gonna choose an ability score constitution. While she has cursed the target, she has disadvantage on constitution checks and saving throws.
[02:21:54] Speaker C: That's amazing.
[02:21:57] Speaker A: And then Boz reaches out to her at the same right after and Grips her tightly and casts flesh to stone.
[02:22:12] Speaker C: Guys, that's awesome. I assume I need to make a con saving throw.
[02:22:18] Speaker A: That is true. You must make a con saving throw.
[02:22:26] Speaker C: It rolled outside of the tower.
[02:22:28] Speaker E: It disadvantaged.
[02:22:30] Speaker C: Oh, it disadvantaged.
7.
[02:22:34] Speaker A: She fails. So she is now restrained.
I don't know how you want to do this for flavor, Zachary, because at the end of all this, the shadows are also going to attack and have advantage. But according to spell, she estimates con saves in the next three turns. And if she fails them, then she literally turns into a statue.
[02:22:52] Speaker C: Yeah, that's awesome.
I assume all the shadows are attacking her now at advantage.
[02:23:00] Speaker A: They are. They are.
They are. If they take her strength to zero, though, I'd rather her turn to stone. Can we make that?
[02:23:08] Speaker C: Oh, buddy, you know that's how we're gonna flavor them.
[02:23:10] Speaker A: Okay.
[02:23:10] Speaker C: You know that's how this is gonna get flavored. Okay.
[02:23:12] Speaker A: Okay. So the shadows attack.
That is not good. That is a 15 plus. What do they get?
Plus four. 19. 18 on one. That's not good.
Nat 20 on another. Holy cow.
Another Nat 20. I'm not even joking, Zachary. That is two Nat 20s in a row though. That's my.
[02:23:34] Speaker C: That is.
[02:23:39] Speaker D: The vegan meat.
[02:23:40] Speaker A: Holy cow. So what, Zach, if you allow it. I want to say when I grab her, as soon as I do it like the shadows unnaturally move across my arm very quickly and just like cover her mouth and so that's. I gotta roll some dice. I'm sorry guys.
[02:23:59] Speaker C: 3D4.
[02:23:59] Speaker A: So that 2D6.
So that's gonna be 66 total dice rolling.
So that is 2, 5, 9, 13, 16, 18 plus 6. So that is 24. And she gets. Has her strength reduced by 3.
7.
Oh 3710 total.
[02:24:45] Speaker C: And even though Saugeen the Fathom Witch had 214 remaining hit points as the shadows crawl across her and Boz grips her wrist and his eyes flare as he mutters in deepest speech. He uses the power of the deep magic to command manned reality and turns her transmuted stone and Salgein the Fathom, which is made a statue inside of her own chamber, forever frozen in a position.
Just.
[02:25:24] Speaker D: Can we.
[02:25:24] Speaker A: Good job, Craig. That's so cool.
[02:25:26] Speaker D: Can we take look at us.
[02:25:30] Speaker B: Why does everyone want to take her.
[02:25:33] Speaker D: And drop her in front of what's her face totally blinking on the name? But a big.
[02:25:40] Speaker A: I mean, no, that's.
[02:25:41] Speaker C: She's stoned now. She's stone.
[02:25:44] Speaker B: Even if we break. Even if we were to break, we gotta take her.
[02:25:48] Speaker C: Somebody.
Somebody would have to cast greater restoration Or a really. I mean like if someone doesn't greater restore her, she's a rock forever.
[02:25:58] Speaker B: I think it would be. I think it would be symbolic to leave her in her tomb.
[02:26:03] Speaker E: Yeah, that's where she would have stayed anyway.
[02:26:05] Speaker A: No, we don't want that because that's how she's going to get better. We need to take her.
[02:26:09] Speaker C: Well, this is a conversation that the party is going to have next time.
The end of.
Oh man. Guys, I didn't get to use. I didn't get to use an eighth level blight. I didn't get to use Finger of Death. I didn't get to use Mental Prison.
That almost couldn't have gone better.
That was amazing. Nobody read the document Jack you just sent me. Please.
Okay, players for defeating Saul Geen. Okay, so for you guys gain 0.02 levels for complete completing episode 140.
You gain another 0.02 levels for completing the dungeon the Drowned Keep. You've defeated it.
And you gain 0.14 levels for defeating Salgeen the Fathom witch, who in her lair. In her lair is CR22.
Wow.
[02:27:09] Speaker D: Is that the. It's not the highest that we've done, is it? The highest?
What's the guys that we're.
[02:27:16] Speaker C: Yes.
[02:27:16] Speaker A: 273.
[02:27:17] Speaker B: We're at 13.273. Yeah.
Wow, that's crazy.
[02:27:25] Speaker C: That's excellent. At the highest. I mean that's the highest individual CR you've beaten.
Like the Dogoth fight was much tougher because that's like. That's like he was level 15 and then his lieutenants were like 11 and 9, you know, so you add it all up and it's a lot more.
And then technically, if you add up all of the creatures that were involved in the Unceasing Massacre, I think the undead pile of bones you fought in the Yo's wood, that was also total, but yeah, incredible. Amazing. Excellent session listeners. The Patreon's cool, but let's be honest, it's probably mostly patrons at this point. Life is an incredible adventure. You're an important part of it. We'll come back to you in just a second with another episode. Skibidi, Wap and Dada.
