[00:00:00] Speaker A: Oh, my.
[00:00:03] Speaker B: Hi. Thank you for. Oh, gosh, guys. I almost did the Chick Fil A intro. My bad. Thank you for choosing Chick Fil A. This is my guy. Okay.
[00:00:13] Speaker C: I think that's how you should start introing our podcast.
[00:00:16] Speaker B: Hi. Thank you for choosing your Sword of Dungeons Dragons podcast. This is. Wait, barely.
[00:00:23] Speaker C: Thank you for choosing your sword in Dungeons and Dragons podcast. This is how. May I take your order?
[00:00:28] Speaker B: Yes. Thank you for choosing Sword of Dungeons and Dragons podcast. This is barely in dnd. How can I assist you today? Maybe give you a really good episode? Okay, what's our letter question? Have we decided grabby.
[00:00:41] Speaker C: You're on it. Also, that's a good look.
[00:00:45] Speaker D: Oh, I love it. That's a vibe.
[00:00:48] Speaker B: Giving bangs.
[00:00:50] Speaker A: I was trying to give myself, like, boy hair.
My letter question is, like, if what would be your character's red flag?
No, no, no, no, no, no. Well, not what would your character's red flag be? But what would.
What would be, like, a red flag for them. For someone else? What's your biggest characters?
What's your.
[00:01:20] Speaker C: I knew what you meant. What's the thing that your character sees and says? That's a red flag.
[00:01:24] Speaker A: Yeah. And I think it might be fun to do an in yellow Brin version. Like, not a.
[00:01:31] Speaker C: We could do both.
[00:01:33] Speaker A: I think that would also.
[00:01:35] Speaker C: That's. That's dope. We probably won't remember this next time, but that's awesome. Who do you want the Diminibooka to be?
Okay. Sick.
[00:01:48] Speaker D: No, I'm not.
[00:01:48] Speaker A: Boy, here.
[00:01:49] Speaker D: Lashla lay thin and.
[00:01:56] Speaker C: Or Lashla.
[00:01:57] Speaker D: I want to do it is.
[00:02:01] Speaker C: Let's start with Krieg. What is Krieg's oop. That's a red flag.
And I'm pre calling it. You can't say you're not Catherine, because that's a sweet answer. Not one that tells us much about.
[00:02:15] Speaker B: I would say his red flag. Not his. But, like, for other people with. Dang.
[00:02:24] Speaker E: Gosh dang it.
[00:02:26] Speaker B: I feel like before. If we're talking about, like, B.C. e or. No. B.C. or before Barbarian era. Before Barbarian era.
Anyways. Anyways. Basically early Craig. I'd say be. If your political views don't align with mine.
[00:02:54] Speaker C: Oh. Oh, yeah. Good answer. Right? Yeah.
[00:02:58] Speaker B: If it was like, hey, if you actually support the Kefkins in any way, shape, or form. Yeah, I hate your guts.
[00:03:04] Speaker C: Get out. You're not welcome in with like. Well, the empire is kind of complicated. You'd be like. Well, you're kind of. Shut up.
[00:03:11] Speaker B: You're kind of shut up.
Now. Now. I think it's if people talk too much about themselves.
[00:03:18] Speaker A: Oh, that's good.
Craigalicious. Let's go.
[00:03:26] Speaker D: Craigalicious.
[00:03:29] Speaker B: Stuff.
[00:03:31] Speaker F: Can bars go next? I think boss has one.
Boss. Boss's red flag is if someone doesn't like someone else just because they're a little rude.
[00:03:42] Speaker A: Oh, that's excellent.
I love that.
[00:03:45] Speaker C: His red flag is everyone in the party.
Abby was like, I love that. And Layna was like, that's a shot at all of you.
[00:03:55] Speaker D: Yeah. I was like, that's.
[00:03:56] Speaker B: Yeah, bro.
[00:03:57] Speaker C: That's a shot.
You guys just pop off.
[00:04:00] Speaker B: You're kind of rude.
[00:04:01] Speaker D: I hate you.
[00:04:01] Speaker A: That's a defense for Bella Andre right there.
Honestly, Bob is walking around the party, and in his vision, it's just like a big red rectangle for every one of the party members.
[00:04:13] Speaker F: Doesn't mean it doesn't like you. It's just a red flag. Everybody has red flags, right? Like bosses.
[00:04:17] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:04:17] Speaker F: Boss doesn't have any red flags. Most other people do.
[00:04:21] Speaker C: Right?
[00:04:22] Speaker A: Yeah.
Rose.
[00:04:24] Speaker D: Red flag is people saying they don't have red flags.
[00:04:30] Speaker F: Fired has never said that before. Landon has, though. So if Rover meets Landon, you won't like him.
[00:04:41] Speaker C: Sorry. I think I was. My nose.
[00:04:43] Speaker D: What?
[00:04:45] Speaker C: What.
[00:04:47] Speaker A: Are you.
[00:04:48] Speaker D: Are you okay?
[00:04:50] Speaker C: Greta.
I choose Greta.
[00:04:55] Speaker A: I think both in the real world and in Yalavren would be, like, anyone who gets really into, like, the latest, like, spiritual trend. So, like, if someone was, like, really into, like, meditation, and it's cool to be into, like, meditation and yoga, but if anybody was like, like, yeah, I'm just like, yeah, like, in there. If, like, someone in, you know, in their mid-20s was like, yeah, it's like my new thing. I'm like, I don't know what the yellow bird is.
[00:05:28] Speaker C: Someone walked up to Greta and said, have you heard about meditation? She'd be like, okay, yeah.
[00:05:33] Speaker A: Or if someone. If someone, like, was like, yeah, I, like, started. I got really. I'm really into, like, monks right now. You know, I'm really into Be like, oh, okay.
[00:05:47] Speaker C: I'm in my insert core aspect of someone else's idea, identity, faith, and understanding era.
[00:05:52] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:05:53] Speaker C: She'd be like, yep. Yeah.
[00:05:54] Speaker A: Yeah. I. Honestly, I. So I guess, like, she'd just not be into people, like, yeah. Assuming people, like, like, something with history and, like, a culture and just, like.
[00:06:08] Speaker C: Appropriation is Greta's red flag. Appropriation.
[00:06:15] Speaker A: Ben. She's, like, seen the good and the bad of that, and I feel like Greta's very knowledgeable, so I feel like she, like, especially for that stuff. So I should feel like if Someone was like, yeah, I'm really into Wicca. She'd be like, okay, it's my new thing. I'm in my Wicca, you know.
[00:06:32] Speaker C: So Greta's red flag is Argyle.
What's your.
Greta would hate argyle. Holy crap.
Oh, so did you, like, know that? Yeah, dude, I do. I'm the high cleric of iu. I do know that, man. Just now I want to force Abby into a situation where she has to role play Argyle mansplaining things to Greta. That's amazing.
[00:07:01] Speaker A: The problem is that I adore both of those characters. I think they're.
[00:07:06] Speaker C: They would hate each other.
[00:07:08] Speaker A: You would not get along.
[00:07:10] Speaker C: Okay, Ro. Sorry.
[00:07:14] Speaker D: Well, I was. I was. Craig kind of said my, like, my first instinct was like, anyone, like, any calf or calf sympathizer. Like, like, anyone that's even like, remotely related. Like the equivalent to like, if you see someone following that person on Instagram and it's like. And it's like, oh, can't interact with them anymore.
So that's one of them. I think the other one of Rose is her biggest red flag for someone is like, if they're too nice or too much of a goody. Two shoes.
[00:07:54] Speaker E: Yeah.
[00:07:54] Speaker D: Or like, it's. It kind of bugs her. She's like, there's something off. If they're like, yeah. They've like, never done anything wrong. They're always smiling.
Well, they're very.
[00:08:06] Speaker C: Just like, admit they've had a bad day.
[00:08:09] Speaker D: Yeah, exactly. Like, too overly positive. Like, Ro is Rose, like, very much like, positive outlook. But these people that are like, oh, you know, everything is perfect.
She's got a real issue with. Because, you know, we all know she kind of likes the bad boy. So the people that are like, too good. She's like, something's off.
[00:08:32] Speaker C: Speaking of which.
[00:08:36] Speaker A: Like, it seems like that's like two of Rose types. And those to me are very funny having like, yeah, I'm really into royalty. And then being like, yeah, I'm really into crime lord.
[00:08:51] Speaker C: I'm really into. They all are crime lords.
[00:08:55] Speaker D: Yeah. You just gotta have a title and probably are exploiting someone.
[00:08:59] Speaker C: So.
[00:09:00] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:09:00] Speaker C: Really the part what attracts you to a person.
[00:09:08] Speaker D: Yeah. Just a little bit of corruption, you know.
[00:09:14] Speaker C: Would be.
His red flag would be indiscretion.
People who cannot. People. People who cannot be discreet. People who cannot be subtle. People who cannot. And. And not just because it's like, oh, that's going to get me in bad waters. I mean, like, yeah, I think that off puts him as a person.
[00:09:38] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:09:38] Speaker C: I think. I think He's a minimalist in every way, and I think he just does not like superfluousness.
[00:09:46] Speaker D: Good thing he doesn't. It's good thing he doesn't hang out with the fun guys too often.
Yeah.
[00:09:54] Speaker C: I think it's, along with some of them, much better than others, and that's okay.
Also, while we're at it, I think Lashla's red flag would be a lack of ambition. I think if someone did not. If someone couldn't tell her, this is what I'm about. This is what I want. She's like, I don't. I'm not interested in you.
[00:10:11] Speaker F: You know who lost the reminder of Zachary?
The girl intelligence officer from Andor.
[00:10:19] Speaker C: Oh, dude.
[00:10:20] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:10:22] Speaker C: Dang, that was good.
[00:10:24] Speaker F: She is, like, brimming with ambition anyways.
[00:10:27] Speaker C: Yeah, very. No, no, no. That was. That was a worthy aside. She's very. I don't remember that character's name, but that show is confusingly good. Okay.
[00:10:37] Speaker F: Oh, my gosh. I love it.
[00:10:40] Speaker C: It's real weird. I don't understand how that's. I love Star wars, but I don't understand how it's under the Star wars umbrella. It's a whole other thing.
This is episode 139 of the Accidental Adventures. The Drowned Keep for Rizzles.
[00:10:57] Speaker B: Oh, okay.
[00:10:59] Speaker C: Actually, the Drown Zachary.
[00:11:00] Speaker F: I. I'm going to call it that. I hope you know that. I'm calling it the Drown Keep for Rizz.
[00:11:05] Speaker C: Please call it the Drum. Please call it the Drown Keep. And please let the language flavor be Drown Keep for Rizzles.
[00:11:12] Speaker F: Can I. Can I put For Rizzles, like in. In like parentheses in the description?
[00:11:16] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:11:17] Speaker A: No, I think it should be.
[00:11:20] Speaker C: Dang it.
Okay. This is a level 13 adventure.
I have a little table at the bottom of all my episode documents that gives me, like, your XP chart. And I had to get rid of the 12th level column because you're 13th level now.
Oh, my goodness, guys, this is crazy. Also, remember, for your new hit points, whatever your previous subtraction was still be down that many hit points. So you have your new total, but you're. You just subtracted the previous amount. Okay, well, okay, so, Abby.
[00:11:59] Speaker A: Well, I understand. I understand.
[00:12:01] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:12:02] Speaker C: 3488 PB C, Hadron 15 still on Mech.
And we return with.
[00:12:11] Speaker A: In a cave.
I went into the cave.
[00:12:17] Speaker C: Oh, my goodness.
That's gonna be inspiration, buddy.
That's I big like that.
[00:12:28] Speaker A: That should be the sub language, the subtitle.
[00:12:34] Speaker C: I'm not gonna get us any more distracted. I'm just pulling up the documents I need, but in the correct order because there's so many right now. But I don't know if you guys have listened to the podcast on Spotify on your phone, but the subtitles are pretty dang good. And they've gotten better. They used to miss most of the stuff we said. When I say now you're in skip Frabaloon and you have the bing bong. It just takes wild guesses and misses. But everything else we say it gets, it's really good.
[00:13:01] Speaker A: So grateful for AI.
[00:13:02] Speaker B: That's good.
[00:13:05] Speaker C: Yeah. One of the three positive applications of AI I've witnessed. So, Craig.
Okay, well, all of the fungi's, especially Craig, you all are pulling yourselves slowly through the claustrophobic narrow throat of this underwater cliff face.
You are not compressed, you're not in like an AC ductwork, but you do not have a lot of room. And it is worth saying, Craig, everyone else here is like uncomfortable. It's like six inches away in any direction is stone, except for maybe up and down. But you, you're the one in a different spot. Because your shoulders are about 2ft wide, you have 3 inches on each side, maybe you have to keep your arms forward as you pull yourself. It's the only way, like to transfer your arms around. You'd have to like tuck them into your body and do this really awkward motion. On top of that, you've had to loop your shield around your back and like, like kind of rotate your swords to your side. You are so tightly held together.
Could you start by giving me.
Yeah. Craig's. It's we don't say it. I really, really hope. And remember, remember how short he is too. I really hope. The visuals of this campaign do not fail to address how stacked Craig is. He looks like a lineman, but sure, he's so taken strong that really shouldn't get lost. He's a big dude.
[00:14:45] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:14:48] Speaker C: Yeah, for his size, he's huge.
But anyway, Abby got out a measuring tape and realized how wide that was.
[00:14:55] Speaker A: It's like, like almost twice the width of my shoulder.
[00:15:00] Speaker C: Craig, you can see in front of you with the light and you are leading the party through this dark space. It continues to wind and twist. And the worst part is sometimes the winding gets pretty sharp. Sometimes you go four feet and there's a turn inside the hard, smooth exterior there. The stone becomes rough along its low ceiling and the floor of the small passage is filled with soft silt and scatterings of sand. The claustrophobic passage, you guys crawl for quite some time and it becomes no more amenable in size. Fortunately, it does not seem to narrow any further.
The worst part, Craig, is that the light coming off of you is starting to catch things.
Very thin strands of sinuous film that hang from the rough ceiling of the inlet. Oh, they're starting to increase in viscosity and frequency further down the passage until they're like the world's worst wall of streamers.
[00:16:00] Speaker B: No, no, I don't like this.
[00:16:03] Speaker C: The worst part, Craig, don't. Is that. No. Well, Abby. Abby messaged caves, not jokingly, but here's the important part. It not like a liquid that you, like, push through and comes with you. They're like. They're like. And they're not conical globules. They're like. They're like this thin film, but they have a flatness to them and they, like, taper to a point. But as you push through them, you touch them and they adhere to you slightly. There's a water, like, quality and adhesion, but as you push by them, some of them tear away with you, but some of them pull off and continue to float. And there's like little points of reflection caught on them. And it's hard to tell if it's like sand or like a scale of some kind. And they're just hanging in long kind of groups starting to get kind of like, by the time you've crawled for 40 or 50ft of this, they're starting to turn into, like they're every eight inches or something.
The rest of the party, you were following behind Craig in this. You guys are having the unpleasant experience of you can only move as far as the person in front of you.
Is anyone's character claustrophobic, you can just say no.
[00:17:18] Speaker A: No.
[00:17:20] Speaker D: Okay, we tried on the poor bet.
[00:17:23] Speaker C: I mean, true. I'm just checking.
Also, a really fun strategy at the beginning of campaigns is to pick a couple phobias for your character. But neither here nor there.
Craig.
Three or four minutes later, 60ft of this crawling, you reach the end of this passage. It's not stone, okay?
You run into the culmination of these sinuous strands.
This initial tunnel ends in a thick, viscous sheet of strange pale film. Like a great semi translucent membrane.
You can only. I mean, it has nothing behind it, only the light coming forward, projecting off of you.
And it's just this sheet of pale something with a lot of sand and silt, kind of like dappling shadows all over it that's in front of you. Also, the party is all within speaking distance of each other. And when you guys get close, like, the two people being immediately behind Craig, like, Boz and Greta can kind of like peer over the person in front of them and see over their shoulders. But by the time you get back to row and Tello, it's all just the feet and butts ahead of you.
[00:18:43] Speaker B: So is there gonna be a giant cave spider like in Harry Potter?
[00:18:48] Speaker C: Underwater spider guys are thousands of feet into the water. The one thing you're probably safe from here is spiders.
You might not be safe from a lot, but you're not going to find a lot of spiders down here.
[00:19:01] Speaker B: Spiders.
[00:19:02] Speaker A: E. Spider.
[00:19:03] Speaker C: Their. Their limbs would not function with the water pressure because they don't have muscles. It's all hydraulic pressure.
[00:19:10] Speaker B: Oh, yes.
[00:19:13] Speaker C: Spiders only have muscles at the base of their legs. Their limbs move through hydraulic pressure, which is really cool.
[00:19:18] Speaker A: It's like my fingers.
[00:19:20] Speaker F: Nope.
[00:19:20] Speaker B: What?
[00:19:21] Speaker C: Completely wrong. No, that Abby was like. Everybody's always like. And then everything else cut out. But she looks so sassy and confident.
[00:19:37] Speaker F: Here's our choices. The order is Craig and then random assortments of other people, right?
[00:19:42] Speaker C: No, no, no. Tello.
[00:19:44] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:19:45] Speaker F: All right, so our options are keep going, stop, or go backwards until we get to the next place to go to.
[00:19:51] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah.
[00:19:52] Speaker F: Those. Those are the three things we do.
So do we keep going forward, or is there anything that stops us? Or, like, is there enough snot on the walls? Or, like, a snot wall? Like a snot.
[00:20:04] Speaker C: You guys are facing. You guys are facing a membrane, a sheet of whatever this stuff is. Remember, it's not snot.
[00:20:09] Speaker D: It's not plane.
[00:20:10] Speaker C: And the membrane, it's like, the thinnest possible sheet of, like, skin, sort of like a single layer.
[00:20:19] Speaker D: Oh, no.
[00:20:21] Speaker F: Is there any, like, is there, like, an inch or less of space somewhere in there?
[00:20:26] Speaker C: It is a perfect contiguous sheet.
[00:20:31] Speaker D: Can I do a nature check to the stone walls? Can I do a nature check to see if I know what this is, bro?
[00:20:37] Speaker C: You can start with perception check. You can see that far ahead of me.
[00:20:39] Speaker D: Oh, that's true.
[00:20:40] Speaker F: Excuse me.
[00:20:42] Speaker D: Also.
[00:20:44] Speaker C: Well, hold on, hold on, hold on. Let's talk about some things. You guys are in the drowned keep. You are subject to the four layer conditions of the drowned keep. I have these written down, and I can reference them with detail, but please take note of them, and you can ask. And I will re reference them.
I will describe two of them to you. The other two you will discover as you do. The first is crushing darkness. The drowned keep is lightless, a complete black void. Creatures without sources of sources of light. Or other means of sensing their surroundings in total darkness are completely blind. Duh, it's dark. Second one, veil of decay. The drowned keep is filled with thin beds of silt and. And soft sand which are swept up by the smallest of movements and turbulence, the fine mist of scale sand or organic matter. Matter is always filtering through the air, reducing sight to 30ft in any direction. For all creatures without linesight beyond its range, including effects of spells and magical light. So even magical light is bound to 30ft.
Creatures without magically aided precision perception, or those who make perception checks without sound, have disadvantage on perception checks. So while you're here, you can see 30ft away unless you have some very special feature. And you have disadvantage on perception checks that are visual.
Okay. And I can re reference these at any point for you. There's two others, but we'll come to.
[00:22:14] Speaker D: This when we get question. You said through the air. Do you mean through the. We're still breathing water, right?
[00:22:20] Speaker C: Definitely in water. Oopsies.
[00:22:23] Speaker D: I just didn't know if there was some crazy thing going on where now we're in the air.
[00:22:31] Speaker C: No, this falls under the category of I promise if you went from under the sea to suddenly not under the sea. I described that.
[00:22:37] Speaker B: Okay, that was just a slip up.
[00:22:40] Speaker D: Okay. I just wanted to check.
[00:22:42] Speaker F: Does anybody happen to have a.
How would I ask it? Boz is saying this out loud.
[00:22:48] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:22:49] Speaker F: A dragon statue.
Just the statue. Dragon at all.
[00:22:56] Speaker D: No, never mind.
[00:22:59] Speaker A: Wait, let me check. Because I don't think so, but I do love.
[00:23:03] Speaker F: I know Greta loves picking up little. Little.
[00:23:06] Speaker C: Also, Ro, you were making a perception check four years ago. Sorry.
[00:23:10] Speaker D: Yeah. Am I doing it at disadvantage?
[00:23:12] Speaker C: I would get things you are doing.
[00:23:15] Speaker A: Oh, and I have a fox sculpture.
[00:23:16] Speaker C: Dang it.
[00:23:18] Speaker D: Well, I rolled it 2, but luckily my perception is plus 11, so that's a 13.
I rolled a 2, but it's a 13.
[00:23:34] Speaker F: Sorry.
[00:23:35] Speaker C: Those level 13 beefyou almost can't fail.
[00:23:40] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:23:41] Speaker C: Row of the 13. You can see it up ahead. It's kind of hard to make out in a lot of detail, but you can see it. You can see what's got. Everyone stopped and you were trying to make a nature check, you said.
[00:23:49] Speaker D: Yeah, I just wanted to see if there's like any way, like obviously I don't like know like a scientific term for it, but I'm like, what is this stuff? You know, this is.
[00:24:02] Speaker A: I got a 21 on my nature. Can I also make an arcana check on it to see if it's magically enchanted or.
[00:24:10] Speaker D: I.
[00:24:11] Speaker C: Let's Let your nature check. Answer it.
[00:24:13] Speaker D: I got a 21 in nature while we're twinning twins.
[00:24:19] Speaker A: Twinning.
[00:24:20] Speaker D: Twinsis.
[00:24:25] Speaker C: That ain't right.
It is very. It is definitely living tissue. Actually. Let's. Let's be very clear on this. You guys recognize this tissue as once living, and so you recognize it as, like, the kind of. It looks like the kind of tissue that appears when, like, skin gets burned. Like the skin that comes over a wound. This looks like grafting dead skin cells that are very much grown in place but no longer alive. They lack the living color vision vividness. So it's like. It's like the world's thinnest veil of dead skin. But the weird thing is it has a kind of elasticity that seems still kind of alive.
[00:25:10] Speaker D: Can I change rose red flag to this?
[00:25:13] Speaker C: Yes, you can. What was that, Landon?
[00:25:16] Speaker F: Like the lady from Doctor who? The last human?
[00:25:19] Speaker B: No.
[00:25:28] Speaker C: Craig, are you doing anything at the front?
[00:25:30] Speaker F: You're the boss, Craig.
[00:25:32] Speaker B: I would like.
[00:25:36] Speaker C: Okay, very awkwardly pull your arm down, grab star splinter. And you have to. You have to, like, pull.
Rotate your hand. Pull it out this way, and then, like, rotate it around to get it forward. It takes, like, 40 seconds to get the sword out and forward. Because this. The confines are so narrow. You're also doing this weird, like, you cannot. No one can stand in the space. So you're having to, like, let yourself down to all fours and kind of, like, prop yourself up on the stone. It's a very awkward position you're in.
Like a play. Play slide that's too small for you. Is. Is the kind of visual. And up out of stone.
Craig, as you pull the sword out, how do you try to cut the membrane.
[00:26:21] Speaker B: Echo?
Oh, maker, let there not be a bunch of blood or weird stuff on the other side. And then I, like, poke it.
[00:26:30] Speaker C: As Craig says the most earnest and honest prayer ever.
Craig. The really cool thing is the little maker symbol on the curious of your armor lights up a little bit.
[00:26:42] Speaker F: Bit.
[00:26:43] Speaker C: And like. Like just the lightest little flash of light. And as you push the sword forward, the worst part is it just right through. Like, there was almost nothing there. And as you move it up, the membrane just flows apart. And so you just sit there, just.
[00:27:05] Speaker B: Guys, I think we're on the upside down very easily.
[00:27:10] Speaker C: Oh, it does kind of. Oh, that's cool reference. I didn't do that intentionally. You know what's fun? I wrote this dungeon a year and a half, two years ago before I had started watching Stranger Things. So that's just a fun coinkee. Dink.
The space continues down into darkness.
You can see more stone. Beyond this point, you are entering a similar long cave network, but it's bigger now.
It looks maybe like 4 and 12ft tall, 3ft wide. So it opens up.
[00:27:51] Speaker B: Oh, my gosh.
[00:27:53] Speaker C: Now you're still in water. So you either have to very awkwardly walk through it or swim through it.
I need.
Oh, my goodness. The custom skill under endurance. I need endurance checks from everyone. Just because you guys have been doing a lot of swimming. This isn't a super high dc, but people could be getting tired now. So I need endurance checks from everybody.
[00:28:18] Speaker F: Which bonus is endurance?
[00:28:19] Speaker C: Zachary, decks Constitution.
[00:28:22] Speaker A: It is dead.
[00:28:23] Speaker D: Not stat.
[00:28:24] Speaker C: Oh, it is Constitution.
I made these mechanics.
And endurance is an obligate skill bound specifically to Constitution.
[00:28:35] Speaker F: I got a 19, which is great because I have a plus zero.
[00:28:39] Speaker C: Dad, that's very important that you guys have told me that it belongs only under Constitution.
Okay, now I. You guys do know this game better than I do sometimes even for the stuff I make up. So I will verify this quickly. Well, okay. I trust you guys. You get a lot, right? Let me check it.
[00:28:57] Speaker D: I've just had it written down as dead. When we heard. Since you've told us. So I probably just messed up, but.
[00:29:04] Speaker A: I might have heard it from Jeff.
[00:29:07] Speaker B: More proficient in it.
[00:29:10] Speaker F: Guys, shouldn't this be insight? This should be insight, right?
[00:29:15] Speaker D: Wait, Charisma, dexterity, or strength? I pulled up the dog.
[00:29:20] Speaker C: Guys, Guys, I am again wrong. Thank you. No, no, no, don't apologize. You are correct. Hey, I said. Guys, I. I've said this so many times. I'm flattered that my people know this game better than I do. Endurance is obligate. Dexterity, strength, immunity is specifically constitution for. Thank you. And you guys are the best.
[00:29:41] Speaker E: What I have.
[00:29:43] Speaker F: Okay, that's great. That means that I have a 25 then.
[00:29:48] Speaker B: I don't like that keepers. I have if I.
[00:29:54] Speaker F: No, it was a 19, sadly.
[00:29:56] Speaker B: Okay, I have a question.
[00:30:00] Speaker C: Yes, Michael?
[00:30:01] Speaker B: Okay, so I have proficiency in endurance.
So I would just add up five, right? Chill with that.
[00:30:09] Speaker C: You'd add ten.
What is is? Did you not put endurance under strength?
[00:30:23] Speaker B: Oh, my gosh. You said dex and strength.
[00:30:26] Speaker C: You said Dex and I said it wrong first.
[00:30:31] Speaker B: Okay. No, you're fine.
[00:30:32] Speaker C: Let's not give me too much credit.
[00:30:33] Speaker B: So it's strength.
[00:30:35] Speaker C: Oh. Oh. I haven't seen Doctor who, but I hate that.
[00:30:40] Speaker B: I know, right? Me too.
Oh, my gosh.
[00:30:49] Speaker C: Well, what did everybody else get? I have boss.
[00:30:53] Speaker A: I got a 17.
[00:30:56] Speaker C: Okay, great.
[00:30:57] Speaker A: Hello. Has gotten a 14.
[00:31:03] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:31:04] Speaker D: I got an 11.
[00:31:07] Speaker C: Okay. That sucks.
[00:31:09] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:31:11] Speaker B: Okay, so I used my D.
I used my D.20. Got a two.
[00:31:21] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:31:21] Speaker B: Yeah, I use Bardic inspiration. So I got a two. Originally added 11.
No, no, 10. Sorry.
[00:31:28] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:31:29] Speaker B: Wrong number. 10. I got 12.
[00:31:31] Speaker E: Add five.
[00:31:32] Speaker F: Did you roll 10?
[00:31:33] Speaker B: I got seven.
No, no, no.
[00:31:39] Speaker F: Okay.
[00:31:40] Speaker B: No, no, no, no.
[00:31:43] Speaker C: I understood, I Understood, I understood. 2 plus 10 plus 5. 17. Awesome. Very good work. Nice.
Everyone passes DC 10 so nobody gets a point of exhaustion.
[00:31:55] Speaker B: I didn't have to use that.
[00:31:57] Speaker C: Nope. But that's fine. I mean, hey, you didn't know that was that. That might have been an important gamble. That's how JD works.
So you begin swinging through this. This is much like the previous, but the rock is rougher, the path more. It's less like long sharp turns and more like just generally winding. It starts to go up and down a little bit. And you guys notice that this cave path is kind of slowly descending. Here's the other really key thing. All along the tunnel, the passage, the sharp point, the rough parts of the rock are starting to grow out into sharp points.
Very long serrated points, like foot long stone teeth. The harsh formations are not uniform in shape or distribution. Littering the walls, floor and ceiling every so inches, every seven inches or so. Like someone's like rock imitating teeth almost. But they're not in even rows. They're just scattered all around from every direction. And they take this space now more spacious and accommodating, and narrow it to the confines of the last tunnel, but through sharp uneven points. And they're not uniform. So moving to too far one way exposes you to one that you moved away from another direction.
Is anyone doing anything particular as you enter the space and continue to move forward?
Okay.
[00:33:25] Speaker F: I use bark skin on myself.
[00:33:28] Speaker C: Okay. Okay. Increasing your ac.
[00:33:33] Speaker F: Let me see. Exactly. I never cast it before, but it's constituted.
[00:33:37] Speaker D: It's concentration. Just so you know.
[00:33:40] Speaker F: That's fine.
[00:33:42] Speaker C: Is freedom of movement concentration?
[00:33:44] Speaker F: 16?
No, no, it's not actually.
[00:33:47] Speaker C: Excellent.
[00:33:49] Speaker F: Okay. It actually doesn't do much. My AC is already 16, so it's pointless. I don't.
[00:33:53] Speaker C: Okay, no problem.
[00:33:55] Speaker F: No problem. Never mind.
[00:33:58] Speaker C: Okay.
Swimming through this tunnel is challenging. There are very few places to safely place your hands or feet, making resting at any point a real challenge. As you all maneuver through the space, I need acrobatic checks from everyone.
Okay.
[00:34:16] Speaker F: Since I have freedom of movement, do I get any bonus to that?
[00:34:20] Speaker C: You do. You do. This is your bonus. There are two different kinds of DCs here.
Because of none of you guys have a race that comes with a swim speed. There's one bonus for everybody or one DC for everyone.
Boss, since you have freedom of movement, you get the other dc.
So boss has a different DC than everyone else, which is great.
[00:34:44] Speaker F: Cuz I don't have a good acrobatics. I don't have a good acrobatics.
[00:34:50] Speaker C: Oh, it's okay.
[00:34:50] Speaker F: Actually, no, I got a. I got a plus five. Never mind.
Sometimes it doesn't matter. Sometimes it doesn't matter if you have a plus five.
[00:35:01] Speaker D: I got an 18.
[00:35:04] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:35:05] Speaker F: I got an eight.
[00:35:08] Speaker A: I got a.
[00:35:10] Speaker C: An eight.
[00:35:11] Speaker A: 14.
[00:35:12] Speaker F: Sometimes you can't roll them all.
[00:35:14] Speaker C: What'd you get?
[00:35:18] Speaker A: I got an 18.
[00:35:24] Speaker B: I got 15.
[00:35:28] Speaker F: Oh, okay. Here's something Boz is doing, though. As it becomes more difficult to move through the passageway, he is using the vines that he can spread out to grab onto points on the wall or to stabilize himself or to use his extensions of himself to kind of move as he swims or to stabilize himself.
[00:35:45] Speaker C: A pretty meaningful bonus. Boz will say you can give yourself a plus two to this check.
[00:35:51] Speaker F: I got a 10 then.
[00:35:54] Speaker C: Okay.
And then did tell. Roll.
[00:35:58] Speaker A: Tell. Got a. Oh, I already.
[00:36:01] Speaker F: Tell. Went on to hunt the squid more, so.
I'm just kidding.
[00:36:06] Speaker C: Said, wait, 24.
[00:36:11] Speaker F: He's going to Moby Dick, that guy.
[00:36:14] Speaker C: You all very carefully swim through the space. It was DC18 for everyone else.
[00:36:24] Speaker B: DC13.
[00:36:28] Speaker C: So everyone, Craig and Boz succeed.
You all carefully wind yourself through the space. It's. It's.
[00:36:35] Speaker A: It was 18. It was 18 out of 14.
[00:36:42] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:36:43] Speaker D: I thought you had an 18.
[00:36:44] Speaker F: Said 18.
[00:36:46] Speaker A: Did I say 18?
[00:36:48] Speaker D: You said 18.
[00:36:49] Speaker A: I'm sorry, I. I got.
[00:36:51] Speaker C: So you guys are swimming through the space and it's horribly anxiety inducing because it's like trying to swim through a tunnel with knives pointing at you in every direction. And when you get cut, it's. It's never. It's never like moving too far and just hitting something. It's like swimming away, avoiding something, being like, I'm fine, and then having something sharp scrape you and cut you from another direction. Small cuts everywhere.
Greta, Tello and Ro swim through pretty well.
And part of your success is due to the fact that you watch where Boz and Craig get cut in front of you.
Craig.
[00:37:30] Speaker E: That makes sense.
[00:37:31] Speaker F: I love that.
[00:37:32] Speaker B: Oh, my God.
[00:37:33] Speaker C: It's worth saying that Craig. Craig. Craig is getting hit all the time, but his armor is blocking most of it. It's just every once in a while, one will cut a cheek or get like a little gap in his armor. But Craig up ahead of you guys is just a muffled like as Craig's armor is like pinging and like breaking some of the sharpest points.
Craig and Boz, you guys both take. Oh, well, no, let's come to this.
You all take three points of piercing damage. Both of you, hold on.
Yes.
[00:38:23] Speaker B: Am I resistant? Am I resistant to piercing or.
[00:38:26] Speaker C: When you were a barbarian while reading.
[00:38:28] Speaker B: That's what I'm remembering.
Okay, so you said three points.
[00:38:32] Speaker C: Three points of slashing.
Okay, now you guys have done 30 or 40ft of hard swimming. This passage is an ending.
Oh, last thing I forgot to describe.
Boz and Craig, you're cut by these stones. Also, something I forgot to mention. The water here is cold. You are deep in the ocean. The water is very cold.
Water breathing, as we have said before, is a spell that kind of magically conditions you to the water space. So you all are succeeding in not freezing to death the way you would at the bottom of the ocean. You're not at the bottom bottom bottom, but you're way down there. But it feels uncomfortably cold. And the cuts from these stones are. They are hot and warm and wet the way it is when something comes cuts you. But Boz and Craig, it's worth mentioning that every single time one of the stones cuts you, right when you get the gash, there's this cold little chill that radiates away from the point of the wound down the length of your appendage, eventually kind of connecting to your spine and just gives you shivers every time really quickly.
Greta and Ro, you both have ridiculously high passive perceptions. You watch as Craig and Boz get cut where they start to bleed out like just a little bit where they bleed in the water. The blood like floats out for a little bit and then kind of adheres to the stones and the stones like a little porous. Like it's like, it's like magmatic and it's like the blood gets absorbed into the stone.
[00:40:06] Speaker A: Wow.
[00:40:09] Speaker C: You all quickly discover that this tunnel is 150ft longer than the last one. I'm going to need that acrobatics check three more times from each of you.
[00:40:21] Speaker A: Three more times.
[00:40:23] Speaker B: You stink.
[00:40:24] Speaker A: You want them all at once?
[00:40:28] Speaker C: Yeah.
So everybody roll three, write them down and then I'll go From person to.
[00:40:38] Speaker F: O14 here I'm going to write down. I'm going to write mine in chat. Yeah, I'm going to write mine in chat to make it easier.
[00:40:45] Speaker C: Very different than the last dungeon.
[00:40:52] Speaker A: I'm going to use my Baric inspiration.
[00:40:54] Speaker C: That's not a bad idea.
Oh. If anyone wants to get rid of that image of the skin stretched person. Also, here's a question. In this last human thing, I get the face. I don't know why the nose is there. Where are any of the other physical features on this person?
[00:41:14] Speaker A: You mean her body?
[00:41:16] Speaker C: But, like, where is this skin being pulled from? There's no arm.
[00:41:21] Speaker F: Oh, there's. There's a frame. There's a frame holding her. She's, like, thousands of years old.
[00:41:27] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:41:28] Speaker A: Surgery.
[00:41:29] Speaker C: She's like, totally.
[00:41:30] Speaker A: She's like.
[00:41:31] Speaker C: But shouldn't there be imperfections to this skin from other parts of the body?
[00:41:35] Speaker A: No, no. She's like a plastic surgery addict.
[00:41:38] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:41:39] Speaker F: I succeeded all my checks, Zach.
[00:41:41] Speaker A: I'm actually not.
I don't know if I'm actually.
[00:41:46] Speaker C: Greg got a 5, a 20, and a 16. Boz got. Oh, my goodness. Landon. And you numbered them for me. Oh, you absolute begork. 14, 16, 17 for Boz. Ro got a 24 and an 18 and a 16.
[00:42:05] Speaker D: She started getting tired. That's why the rolls went down. She's like, oh, my goodness, it's so perfect.
[00:42:11] Speaker C: And what did Greta and Tello get?
[00:42:14] Speaker A: Greta got a 14 and 17 and a 19.
Kello got.
[00:42:22] Speaker F: Jackie. I mean, Boz would tell Ro this. He would say, hey, Ro, if you want to polymorph, like, into a fish or something to swim through here, like, it might make it easier for you to get by. Just to let you know.
[00:42:38] Speaker D: That's true.
[00:42:39] Speaker F: Does say that to Roe.
[00:42:41] Speaker C: What were Telos?
[00:42:44] Speaker F: You just make the squid be squid.
[00:42:46] Speaker C: Again.
[00:42:48] Speaker D: True.
[00:42:49] Speaker C: 16.
[00:42:51] Speaker E: 10.
[00:42:52] Speaker A: 24.
[00:42:53] Speaker C: 24. Okay.
Okay. So Tello fails two, Row fails one. Boz fails none. Craig fails one, and Greta fails two.
So, Craig, you take another three points of piercing damage.
[00:43:21] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:43:28] Speaker F: Sometimes I hide protein bars when I know I'm gonna be hungry, but I don't know if I'll be able to get snacks. And so I'm pulling in my. My stash.
[00:43:36] Speaker C: Greta, you take.
[00:43:37] Speaker A: I do that. Throw them in my bag and in my car.
[00:43:40] Speaker C: 10 points of slashing damage or piercing.
You guys, it's a separate instance for every time there's a failure.
Boss takes no more. Tello takes.
[00:43:58] Speaker F: Humble.
[00:44:02] Speaker C: Eight points of piercing damage.
There a lot to write down. And row. You take five points of piercing damage.
[00:44:19] Speaker D: The beauty is, because we rolled hit points, I'm still above what I was when we were fighting the squid.
[00:44:30] Speaker C: Okay, now.
[00:44:33] Speaker F: Sorry.
[00:44:34] Speaker C: Hoffa was waiting for a kiss.
It's okay.
Since everyone but boss failed, I need A new check.
I need Greta, Craig, Tello, and Ro to make charisma saving throws for me.
[00:44:56] Speaker D: Charisma.
Okay.
[00:45:04] Speaker A: Oh, dude, I'm full populated.
[00:45:08] Speaker B: Oh, okay, okay, okay, I got a 26. Not 20, Craig, 26.
[00:45:21] Speaker C: Excellent.
[00:45:22] Speaker D: I got a 15.
[00:45:26] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:45:26] Speaker D: I rolled a five, but my is plus 10, so it's a 15.
[00:45:32] Speaker F: Okay, Rose, behind you, right?
[00:45:36] Speaker D: No, Greta's right behind you. And then I'm behind Greta, whoever's right.
[00:45:41] Speaker F: Behind me, I reach back and I touch them and I cast objurate. So they have advanced advantage on this check.
[00:45:48] Speaker A: Oh, awesome.
[00:45:50] Speaker C: Okay, real quick on that.
This is very internal.
[00:45:57] Speaker F: I don't know what grad even rolled. She hasn't even said a role yet.
[00:46:01] Speaker C: Sure, sure, sure. But that's me being. I mean, like, that's kind of me being like, hey, Ro, you start having like a blood embolism and someone being like, oh, I'm going to give. And it's like, well, you don't. That's. None of this is visibly happening to anyone.
[00:46:16] Speaker F: Yes, yes, I. I will say though, and I. I totally will respect yours.
[00:46:20] Speaker C: Sure. But I'm listening.
[00:46:21] Speaker F: I think boss is pretty obdurate, savvy forward, especially with dealing with things of fay nature. Like in the.
[00:46:32] Speaker C: He has done this quite a bit.
[00:46:34] Speaker F: And in the mouth and seeing my blood flow out and then attach itself to the wall and then noticing everybody cut more. I would.
[00:46:42] Speaker C: I see the first point, but Boz did not notice that his passive perception did not pick up the. Excuse me. Actually, wait, what is your passive perception?
[00:46:51] Speaker F: It's quite high. Let me see.
[00:46:54] Speaker C: Excuse me, Micah.
[00:46:58] Speaker F: My pass per section is 16.
[00:47:02] Speaker C: Okay. Excuse me, Boz, you did notice. I see the reasoning. Okay, so Rose, Greta's behind you. Greta, you. What does objuri do?
[00:47:14] Speaker F: It grants immunity to being charmed and it grants advantage on charisma saving throws.
[00:47:18] Speaker A: How long is that?
[00:47:19] Speaker F: Okay, that lasts for one hour. And it's not concentration.
[00:47:26] Speaker C: Yeah. Excellent. Okay, so Greta, you have advantage.
[00:47:32] Speaker A: Rock and roll, dude.
I got a 27.
[00:47:40] Speaker C: Okay, that's amazing.
And then what did Tello get?
[00:47:50] Speaker A: Tello got a 19.
[00:47:54] Speaker C: 19. Okay.
Okay, great. We're gonna keep moving.
Let me write something down really quickly.
Okay. I just had to make a note of that real quick for absolutely no reason.
Excellent. Okay, so you guys crawl through this path. What is happening in chat? I look away for 20 seconds.
[00:48:42] Speaker F: What's.
[00:48:45] Speaker C: Gonna gonna move? Set up to bed for. For back because crap chair. You need chair good. No back rest mean hurt for chair sit.
[00:48:58] Speaker D: Oh, did Zach freeze or is he next Level freezing on it.
[00:49:04] Speaker A: Frozen. That's a new skill that he has.
[00:49:08] Speaker D: New.
No, I think he really froze.
[00:49:14] Speaker A: It's the boy who cried wool.
[00:49:17] Speaker F: Zach, if you can hear us, you're lost in the abyss.
[00:49:22] Speaker D: In the chair. Piss abyss.
The piss abyss.
[00:49:26] Speaker C: You guys, so many.
[00:49:31] Speaker A: Piss abyss.
[00:49:35] Speaker C: Landon, can the flavor description for this episode be piss abyss 139. The piece of this we're on.
[00:49:49] Speaker D: It's like saying we're on the precipice of something.
[00:49:53] Speaker E: We're on the abyss.
[00:49:57] Speaker C: Abyss. All right.
Okay, you goobs.
Absolute deeper Goggins. Jeez.
So the party continues to crawl through this awful space.
[00:50:17] Speaker D: Through the piss abyss.
[00:50:23] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:50:24] Speaker D: Yes.
[00:50:25] Speaker C: And it's not an actual piss. It's ocean water. It's really cool.
The.
[00:50:33] Speaker F: Yeah, a certain percent of the ocean water is piss.
[00:50:36] Speaker C: Like, I mean, yes, you are talking about per trillion.
[00:50:41] Speaker F: Really don't think it's bodies and fecal matter.
[00:50:45] Speaker C: You know what? A comparable amount of the ocean water that's piss is a comparable ratio to the amount of air on Earth that's pissed.
[00:50:53] Speaker F: Yeah, also because that does not make any sense at all.
[00:50:57] Speaker C: Oh. Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. If you want to get scientific about this, in a completely unnecessary digression, yes. When you are talking about the parts per quintillion of water molecules that might exist temporarily in the air as urine, you're actually probably running into as much urine caught in air molecules in parts perf as with the entire ocean, the.
[00:51:20] Speaker F: Volume creatures in the ocean peeing than there are humans.
[00:51:24] Speaker C: Yes. And the vast majority of ocean creatures do not urinate. They bound nitrogen through the excretion of their systems through different processes.
[00:51:35] Speaker F: Also wastewater. All drains lead to the ocean. Didn't you watch Finding Nemo?
[00:51:40] Speaker C: Okay, so the tooth throat spills outward into an open, empty space. A black death with unclear boundaries to every side, wreathed in complete still darkness at every direction. So, Craig, leading your group forward. Eventually, this claustrophobic sharp space just opens into this. Just like it becomes this wide aperture 10ft around, and it's just black darkness as you hold out the light cast on your palm to 30ft forward and 30ft dim the light just barely. The dim light at the edge catches stone above you, but nothing to the left, nothing to the right.
[00:52:28] Speaker E: That's scary.
[00:52:30] Speaker A: Wow. I'm gonna go around and I'm gonna go around and touch each party member's hand and maybe both hands and give them light on their palm.
[00:52:45] Speaker C: Excellent.
[00:52:45] Speaker A: Just in case people want this to.
[00:52:48] Speaker C: Happen, let me check something about light Real fast. I'm pretty sure you're fine.
Well, I think this is not the case, but I just want to check L colors before m.
Yes.
[00:53:02] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:53:03] Speaker F: This is actually a very interesting topic because. Sorry, I'm back on the fish piss thing again.
[00:53:09] Speaker E: Because I'm actually genuinely understood.
[00:53:11] Speaker C: Could we not.
[00:53:13] Speaker F: I want to talk to you about this after the session. Sometimes, Zachary, because I'm genuinely interested in fish kidneys now and sometime in the future. I want to talk about this.
[00:53:21] Speaker C: Okay. I mean, the diuretic features of fish are fascinating. And the ways that other creatures process nitrogen as. As an excretion are fascinating. Where one of the mammals are among some of the only creatures on earth to piss. But anywho.
[00:53:36] Speaker A: Wow.
[00:53:38] Speaker C: You all face into an empty hold of darkness.
Just water. And it. The water is so still. There's so little movement in the water column. Some of the silt that you've kicked up is slowly floating down over the edge, but it's just black. And you guys are each holding your little handheld light cantrips that are shining around you, which is a really cool vision.
Okay.
Sorry.
[00:54:07] Speaker E: Can I try and find some sort of wall and follow that?
[00:54:13] Speaker A: I follow. That's smart.
[00:54:14] Speaker C: Would you specify that for me?
[00:54:18] Speaker E: So we just exited out of a. A bit of a.
[00:54:21] Speaker C: No.
[00:54:21] Speaker E: We have gone from small tunnel.
[00:54:23] Speaker C: You're in a tunnel.
[00:54:24] Speaker E: To bigger space.
[00:54:25] Speaker C: The tunnel has opened about it this way. You're like on a tunnel. The tunnel opens up. And it opens up to a drop.
That drop has nothing in front of you, nothing below. And when you shine your hand up, you can just see stone ceiling, like kind of up, up and forward. So there's no room in front of you. There's a black abyss.
You have the tunnel. You're in the opening, the wide opening where the mouth opens and then just fall.
[00:54:58] Speaker B: So.
[00:54:58] Speaker E: Zach, why would you make something so scary? I just don't understand.
I just don't understand at all.
[00:55:04] Speaker C: Can't be in the lost lands forever.
[00:55:07] Speaker B: Why would you make us something so scary?
[00:55:09] Speaker C: The world needs balance. But goober's in it. There has to be shadows for all that life.
[00:55:13] Speaker B: I can't even drop a coin.
It'll just.
[00:55:17] Speaker C: That's. Oh, Micah, let's learn a fun science lesson. Metal's more dense than water.
[00:55:24] Speaker E: Not float. But like, it wouldn't go very fast now.
[00:55:28] Speaker C: That's probably true. Yes. The more dense fluid would prevent a meaningful acceleration. Nor would you get a meaningful reverberation of sound to let you know the distance.
[00:55:37] Speaker A: Exactly.
I'm on a cantrip. Kick. And I would like to cast sacred flame.
[00:55:46] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:55:47] Speaker A: Down.
[00:55:48] Speaker C: What is the range on this?
[00:55:51] Speaker A: 60Ft. And it's just.
[00:55:52] Speaker G: Okay, it.
[00:55:54] Speaker A: It. It is radiant damage. Can I. Can I.
Before I. Can I ask a question before I do that?
Would Greta know whether or not, like, that would also create a light.
[00:56:11] Speaker C: A lot of light.
[00:56:13] Speaker A: Okay, I would like to do that. Just going down.
[00:56:15] Speaker C: Okay. What does your sacred flame look like?
I'm gonna assume green fire.
[00:56:23] Speaker A: No, I think it's just like a bright white light.
[00:56:27] Speaker C: Okay, sick.
[00:56:29] Speaker A: Just like a glowing beam.
[00:56:33] Speaker C: Okay, Greta, as you grab your holy symbol and you point your fingers down and you mutter slightly, there's just this little.
And it's cool because as the bolt, as that little gout of flame just outward in this line, little beam of white light, it like bubbles everywhere it goes. Because as if the, like burning heat of the light is like, like evaporating. Some of the water is passing through, but it's just returning to more water down. As it does. It burns for 60ft and then burns out.
It's more than 60ft.
[00:57:14] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:57:17] Speaker C: I mean, interesting.
So, anywho, I've lost Landon to the piss abyss conversation. What's everyone else doing?
[00:57:28] Speaker A: Concentrated salty urine.
[00:57:30] Speaker F: Okay, I'm done. Boz is done. We're thinking about hp. I feel like Boz would do that, though. He would get highly random on rabbit trails of random whatever life while we're in a tunnel.
A gross tunnel. Yes, definitely a gross tunnel.
[00:57:46] Speaker C: Craig, can you give me a strategy? Check strategies under intelligence.
[00:57:54] Speaker E: Yes, indeed I can.
I cannot promise it will go well with me.
[00:58:01] Speaker C: Nope.
[00:58:01] Speaker E: Because I am not.
[00:58:02] Speaker D: You're gonna make it.
[00:58:03] Speaker C: Needs to be good if you're gonna make it. It needs to be dead good.
[00:58:06] Speaker E: Yeah, well, I have. I have a negative one listener.
[00:58:11] Speaker C: Micah is reclining on her back and she's pulled the dice tray up onto.
[00:58:15] Speaker E: Her.
[00:58:19] Speaker C: Mike is just hanging over her face.
[00:58:21] Speaker F: Thanks.
[00:58:24] Speaker E: Don't make of me.
[00:58:29] Speaker C: What you get, buddy. I got a three.
[00:58:33] Speaker D: Oh, no.
[00:58:36] Speaker C: Got a card.
[00:58:37] Speaker E: Why did you make me do it? Out of all of the entire we have.
[00:58:43] Speaker C: Because you had suggested a concept which could work with some ingenuity.
What's the party doing?
[00:58:51] Speaker E: Oh, man.
Go ahead.
[00:58:55] Speaker A: I'm gonna.
[00:58:57] Speaker F: Zach. Oh, sorry. Sorry. Abby.
[00:58:59] Speaker C: Go. Sorry.
[00:58:59] Speaker F: Go.
Would boss know what fish he could turn into that had a better sense of vision than other fish?
[00:59:09] Speaker C: Okay, so this is interesting. You're a very high level druid. I want to reward that you also. Haven't you spent a lot of time on the open water?
Yes.
[00:59:23] Speaker F: Oh, here's What Boss is doing. Boz thinks back to when he was in the boat and looking at all the different crustaceans when there was complete darkness. And he tries to pick one of the fish that he saw that lived inside the boat and just kind of says, I bet it probably can see better than most.
[00:59:38] Speaker C: Boss, give me a nature check.
I love that, by the way. That was really good.
[00:59:45] Speaker D: That's a great face, Landon.
[00:59:52] Speaker F: That is an unnatural 20.
[00:59:54] Speaker C: Loved that pause. You consider many of the creatures from this environment which you've witnessed, how they might be appropriate. And then you have this sudden shock of consideration.
No. From a year ago, almost in 3487, in the cave, you all saw the deep lights. Those squids, you remember that you never saw them anywhere else. So they must come from significant depth. And they light up where they go. You bet. That would be a creature well adapted to this environment. That would also help light the path.
As you have this thought, Greta's nearby. Just going.
There she is.
[01:00:33] Speaker A: I love the squid.
[01:00:35] Speaker F: Boss turns into a small version of squid. Not too big, not too small.
[01:00:41] Speaker C: The. The deep lights were. The deep lights were like a foot long.
[01:00:45] Speaker F: Oh, perfect.
[01:00:45] Speaker C: So they were about $5. So you're just. You're this suddenly this little. That one.
There's just this sudden little squid. And as. As the squid floats there, he just pulses with these light.
[01:01:01] Speaker B: Where did Boss go?
[01:01:03] Speaker A: I give him a pet.
[01:01:06] Speaker C: Okay.
As you reach up and touch it. Oh, squishy.
And pause. You find yourself extremely mobile in this form. I'm just gonna go ahead and let you know. You. I'm sure I have a stat block of this somewhere. But you have a swim speed of 40 and you have. Your perception is excellent. You have a plus six to perception and that in. In this form, in the space, it includes both your vision and your chemo reception. So you can smell real good, but your smell is kind of like a taste. And you can see really well, even though you can't see much at all.
[01:01:47] Speaker F: How much do I pee?
[01:01:50] Speaker E: I can't. I can't.
[01:01:55] Speaker C: Okay, I'm done. I'm sorry. I'm sorry.
[01:01:57] Speaker F: That is the look of dm. That's done. I respect that.
[01:01:59] Speaker D: Looks like a freaking squid.
[01:02:04] Speaker F: I respect that. Look, we are done.
[01:02:06] Speaker C: What are you doing, Boss?
[01:02:07] Speaker F: Boz methodically tries to swim around as the place widens up and looks for alternate pathways or clues that can help us on our next move.
[01:02:17] Speaker C: I'm sorry, guys. I lost my composure there for a moment, but I'm fully okay. Baz, which Direction. Do you swim first?
[01:02:24] Speaker F: Wow.
I swim. I swim. I follow the left hand.
[01:02:30] Speaker C: I am as you. As you swim whis, you find that the wall moves to the left. This chamber is unevenly shaped, but you can go to the left for about 60ft. And then you do find wall. And as you swim in a circle, you find that about 40ft this way, maybe 80ft this way. This space has like a. Like a roughly like 160 foot circumference around.
[01:02:53] Speaker F: I try to swim down.
[01:02:56] Speaker C: And then you guys watch as Boz, the lit up squid just.
And he disappears. Boz, you're a squid.
[01:03:11] Speaker F: I squid.
[01:03:12] Speaker C: You are in this moment the stupidest you have ever did been.
You have an intelligence of two.
[01:03:20] Speaker F: So I thought I'd keep my intelligence with.
[01:03:23] Speaker C: Wow. Could you watch sick. Okay.
Could you. Could you give Smid. Could you give me check. Just a general intelligence check. It's not a super high DC.
[01:03:36] Speaker F: I'm so smart, my intelligence is plus one. So I have an 18.
[01:03:43] Speaker C: Excellent. Much more than you need.
[01:03:45] Speaker F: Arby's dice. They have the meats.
[01:03:48] Speaker C: Okay, Boz, you find that. You do find a bottom. A soft, silty floor.
It stretches out fair reach, another distance. This space is wider, maybe like 30ft. It has a defined bottom, about the width like 160ft around, like the circumference above. But it begins tapering and narrowing quickly, maybe to like 30ft wide. And it goes on for quite some distance. It's just soft, silty base. Everything's gotten very level all of a sudden. No longer the up and down of the natural stone here.
And.
All right, Abby is just desperately trying to hold in a laugh.
You realize with your 18, you swam about 140ft down, but there is indeed a bottom here.
[01:04:45] Speaker F: How does the silt feel at the bottom? Solid ground? Or does it feel like something that like something lives under or like moves around it and like displaces commonly?
[01:04:55] Speaker C: Ooh. As Squizz lowers himself down, you reach out your pseudopods and you begin sifting through the silt. Give me either an investigation or a perception check.
And obviously, if you have your boss perception and it's better than your squid's perception, you can use it.
[01:05:13] Speaker F: That is no. 14.
[01:05:17] Speaker C: 14, 14.
It feels like the light silt of much of the rest of this space. You do find occasional hard objects, some stones.
As you start moving them around, you can manipulate things very dexterously and finely with your tentacles. And as you lift things up, you start finding bits of very, very, very fine, thin bone. Like fish, but with some Searching you do eventually find much larger bone.
[01:05:55] Speaker F: I pull it up or is it too big?
[01:05:58] Speaker C: It's a little bit too big for you. You're quite small at the space. But it's.
[01:06:01] Speaker F: Does it feel alive or does it feel like a dead bone?
[01:06:03] Speaker C: It's a bone.
[01:06:06] Speaker D: An alive bone or a dead bone?
[01:06:10] Speaker F: A little bit.
[01:06:11] Speaker C: You find like a chunk of wood. Wood maybe from one of the shipwrecks outside.
[01:06:15] Speaker D: Sitting in a live boat or a dead boat. That's going in the quote book.
[01:06:23] Speaker F: Does the bone feel like a femur or like a rib? Like it. Or like a phalange?
[01:06:30] Speaker C: Oh, give me. Give me a medicine squiz.
Is the rest of the party medicine? Anything else? At the top of the cliff? Both laws has disappeared for some time.
[01:06:39] Speaker D: I gonna.
[01:06:40] Speaker F: How.
[01:06:41] Speaker D: Oh, sorry.
[01:06:42] Speaker C: 18 how do.
[01:06:43] Speaker F: How is wisdom. How is medicine wisdom and not intelligence? I don't understand.
[01:06:46] Speaker C: But that is 18 a girl.
I don't know. I think the idea. No, it doesn't make any sense.
[01:06:54] Speaker F: It doesn't make any sense.
[01:06:56] Speaker A: I think it makes sense.
[01:06:57] Speaker C: This one.
This one's broad and flat and kind of triangular. It has a dip to it.
An 18. It's like a. It's like a scapula. Like a shoulder blade.
[01:07:09] Speaker F: Oh.
[01:07:10] Speaker C: But it's a bit too broad and a bit too thin to be like a humanoids.
Perhaps from like an aquatic race back up at the top of the cliff. Greta, you were saying something?
[01:07:27] Speaker A: Can we see Boz from the.
[01:07:30] Speaker C: No. Heck no. He disappeared into the dark and you haven't heard from him in five or six minutes.
[01:07:37] Speaker B: Hope he's still alive.
[01:07:39] Speaker C: Craig MUTTERS well, Jackie's probably right.
[01:07:50] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:07:52] Speaker D: How big is the. The hole that squid boss went down into? Like, can we fit through that if we were to.
[01:07:59] Speaker C: Yeah, that's the gaping maw of abyss that you could not see the end of in any direction.
[01:08:03] Speaker D: Abyss. Okay.
Yeah. So.
[01:08:09] Speaker C: I just. I just got so frustrated that I started paying less attention to my body and I farted in result. You said that. I got upset and then let out a huge like a 3 second long.
[01:08:21] Speaker D: Why are you guys making our. Our chat?
[01:08:25] Speaker C: Like, don't you dare deflect. What is your character doing? Ms. Piss Abyss. What are you doing?
[01:08:33] Speaker D: No, but they're, they're making it like that chain mail. Like you'll have a. A demon visit you in your sleep if you don't forward this to five people.
[01:08:41] Speaker C: What are you doing?
What are you doing?
[01:08:45] Speaker D: I would like to try to. To go over the edge and swim down.
[01:08:54] Speaker C: Okay. Ro.
[01:08:55] Speaker F: I also like to swim like that.
[01:08:58] Speaker C: She just lowers herself down row. You start rapidly descending and I got my light water. Okay. And so I really don't want to.
[01:09:08] Speaker D: Skip over how awesome I'm Iron Man.
[01:09:10] Speaker C: Ro. You step up to the stone edge and you just.
And roe just falls. Like to speed. You fall in water and as you hold out your hand.
[01:09:21] Speaker B: Oh my gosh.
[01:09:21] Speaker C: Falling in the water, each of you guys like paradiver. Just.
And each of you are holding your hands out. You see nothing but dark but the stone walls around you. And as you fall downward in this incredibly awesome scene, you guys each, just after 140 foot descent, land on the silt floor below. Kind of like a. Okay, we're not going to fall.
[01:09:46] Speaker A: They're like a puff of silk.
[01:09:47] Speaker C: When you land and when you guys land, all the sil.
[01:09:50] Speaker E: Yes.
[01:09:51] Speaker A: Cool.
[01:09:51] Speaker C: Lifts up and the whole group is there. Your vision is once again greatly reduced because that, that, that brief space in that open void was where that veil of decay had been lacking. But now you're back to that 30 foot limitation with the raised silt and squid. Boss is back. Yes. What's up, Nickel?
[01:10:10] Speaker B: Can I use Divine Sense?
[01:10:15] Speaker C: Yes.
I would love for you to use Divine Sense. Yes. While we're on it, Boz, you talked earlier about swimming back up. Could you make me an athletics check?
[01:10:28] Speaker F: Did I swim back up? Oh, athletics. Not acrobatics. Athletics. Okay.
That is a. Oh. With us, with this. With. What's my bonus? What's my strength bonus with the squid? Zachary 2. Give me a nice squid plus one five. That's the same bonus Boss has.
[01:10:54] Speaker C: Boss, is he going to swim back up?
You can't.
You push and place and you can get a little weight, but it's like all of a sudden gravity's higher upon you. You find you can't swim back up and you feel resisted.
[01:11:10] Speaker D: Don't like that.
[01:11:12] Speaker C: It's about this time that everyone else lands around you.
[01:11:17] Speaker F: Zachary, I have a question.
[01:11:19] Speaker C: And then I promise I'm going back to your thing. Micah. Yes.
[01:11:23] Speaker F: I wanted. When we level up, am I allowed to put in my seventh level spells? Because I had two that I wanted to place in there.
[01:11:31] Speaker C: Do it right. Okay. Yeah. All right, you all. Yeah. Once you guys level up, you have all your bonuses immediately. So you have your sevenths, Craig has his fourth. Everybody gets their proficiency bonuses, all that stuff.
[01:11:42] Speaker D: You get two seventh level spells.
[01:11:45] Speaker F: I can have as many. I could have 12 level 7.
[01:11:48] Speaker D: Oh, that's right. Because you switch them out.
[01:11:50] Speaker C: He has the 1 slot, but he can pick as many.
[01:11:52] Speaker D: Yeah, I forgot.
I forgot.
[01:11:55] Speaker C: Craig, you land.
[01:11:58] Speaker E: Yeah.
[01:11:59] Speaker C: You see the space and its haunting nature. Everything is like a large space. The silt lifts up, so you really can't see much once the silt's lifted, but you can see that it begins to constrict into another tunnel of sorts. But now the floor is even. Describe what it looks like as you reach out with Divine Sense.
[01:12:16] Speaker E: Also going to try. Try and pair it with detect magic.
If I can cast those simultaneously.
[01:12:25] Speaker C: You can, because Divine Sense is not a spell. Divine Sense is a feature. Magic.
[01:12:30] Speaker E: Yes. Yes.
Yeah. So, all right, I. I use the wrong verbiage, but I do comprehend. I do comprehend.
[01:12:39] Speaker C: No, I'm just laughing at the.
[01:12:41] Speaker E: I'm gonna. Yes, he is.
I would say that there are two individually, like, visual. I don't know, they kind of, like, wrap around each other like DNA as they go out.
And I know that it's a feat, but I would like to flavor it in a way that. Like a way that it's being used.
[01:13:06] Speaker C: You, like, grasp your symbol, and as you whisper, there's just, like, a flourish of, like, gold and a fur of blue light just ramp out from each other. And as they, like, reach outward, eventually they collide. And as they collide, there's this little spark of light, this, like.
And everyone else quits seeing. But you watch those colors spread, and they add color to the near monochromatic vision. Down here, you can't see any more than 30ft beyond you. The silt blocks it.
Craig, Detect Magic reveals to you no specific object, but a field of latent necromancy around you.
Divine Sense yields to you a response of undeath.
You feel a strong pull of undeath, a far pulse from somewhere far ahead. But you also see undeath all around you, all around your feet, everywhere.
[01:14:17] Speaker E: Surrounded by undead.
I just got chills.
I just got chills. Guys, that's really not good.
[01:14:28] Speaker C: Craig, do you share this awareness with any of your allies?
[01:14:31] Speaker E: Yes, yes, I have Star Splinter that can attack the undead, but, my gosh, that's not good.
[01:14:39] Speaker D: Well, that's a problem.
Possibly. Probably, but maybe not.
[01:14:53] Speaker E: What to do where I'm gonna start.
[01:14:57] Speaker A: I see squid balls investigating the floor.
[01:15:01] Speaker F: So sorry.
[01:15:03] Speaker A: I'm gonna. I'm gonna do that, too.
[01:15:06] Speaker C: You all don't have to look for long before you find bones along the floor. Fish bones. Bones you don't recognize bones? Humanoid ones.
We.
[01:15:23] Speaker E: We really do appreciate you, Zach. I hope you know.
[01:15:25] Speaker C: Oh, it's fine. I'm. It's no big deal. Let's keep going.
I'm. I'm not hurt.
[01:15:33] Speaker E: I think that your fart earlier maybe.
[01:15:38] Speaker F: If we need to let out some more, that's just fine. We won't judge you.
[01:15:43] Speaker C: If you need to let out some.
[01:15:45] Speaker A: More, that's just fine.
[01:15:47] Speaker F: Okay. Sorry.
[01:15:51] Speaker C: Can always add more. Okay.
[01:15:54] Speaker D: More bones.
[01:15:57] Speaker C: What are you guys doing in the space?
[01:16:02] Speaker A: I'm gonna go.
[01:16:04] Speaker F: Am I stuck, like, attached to this bone or am I just stuck in the sand hand?
[01:16:08] Speaker C: No, no, boss. You can. You can swim. You can swim back up, but every time you try to get like more than 10ft up and you guys are watching boss, like, swim up and then kind of be pushed back down and swim up.
[01:16:19] Speaker D: So I try to swim up, bro.
[01:16:21] Speaker C: Give me an athletics.
[01:16:22] Speaker E: Me too.
[01:16:23] Speaker C: Me too.
[01:16:24] Speaker D: Just to see what happens, bro. And Craig athletics. Oh, that's gonna be a 12.
[01:16:34] Speaker C: Got a 14.
[01:16:35] Speaker F: It didn't work.
[01:16:38] Speaker C: Ro. As you go to push yourself off the floor and swim, you get two or three feet up and then you just kind of fall back down, resisted by some heavy force.
[01:16:47] Speaker D: Can I do an arcana check to see if it's magical?
[01:16:51] Speaker C: Yeah, that feels magical. What'd you get, Craig?
[01:16:54] Speaker E: Okay, 19.
[01:16:55] Speaker D: I didn't know if it was grabbing thing.
[01:16:58] Speaker C: Craig, you push hard to feel resisted by a force force. But you succeed in lifting yourself upward and you begin to slowly swim back up before letting yourself fall back down. It's like you overcame a force.
[01:17:11] Speaker F: Freedom of movement prevents magical effects that reduce your speed and cause you to be restrained.
[01:17:17] Speaker C: Freaking nabbit. Boss suffers no impediment and can swim upward, but Roe can't.
Okay, as. As you all find the fourth lair condition of the Drowned Keep.
[01:17:30] Speaker D: Wait, what was the third?
[01:17:32] Speaker C: The blood. It's okay. We already found it.
Endless descent. It's not only the immense water pressure of the Drowned Keep that pushes one's heart and body downward. A foul magical force pulls down those who would attempt to swim upward or outward of the dungeon. If you all attempt to swim up, you must surpass a check.
[01:17:53] Speaker A: That's scary.
[01:17:54] Speaker C: Or even to move back.
[01:17:56] Speaker E: So. So did I get up. I'm like, I'm up.
[01:18:00] Speaker C: Craig, you find you can swim up. You get the feeling that every time you try, there's like a check associated.
[01:18:07] Speaker F: Okay, I gotta save all my spell slots this dagum movement spell so everybody can get home.
No spell cast. Boss dungeon challenge.
[01:18:18] Speaker A: I'm going to start looking along the wall for any way forward.
[01:18:26] Speaker D: Yeah, same buddy.
[01:18:28] Speaker C: Give me help.
A group stealth check. But Craig, never forget yours is a disadvantage because you're in full plate.
[01:18:38] Speaker D: Does it make noise in the ocean? Does it make noise in the water?
[01:18:42] Speaker C: Huh?
Does.
[01:18:44] Speaker B: Hey.
[01:18:45] Speaker D: Boss's little jingle jaggles McNally.
[01:18:48] Speaker C: Yeah. He has a chance.
[01:18:49] Speaker E: Totally.
[01:18:51] Speaker F: Oh, yeah. What is my deduction from the.
[01:18:53] Speaker C: It's on your sheet.
[01:18:55] Speaker F: Yes, yes, yes.
Nesbits. It's funny. The cloak of Dolgoth and the boots of Nesmith cancel each other out.
[01:19:04] Speaker C: You're wearing Nesmith slippers and doggone's clothes. You've got jingle elf shoes and the most horrible murderer. You. It's crazy.
[01:19:14] Speaker D: The thing I love about that is Dolgoth would hate that. I feel.
[01:19:17] Speaker C: Yes, he would love.
[01:19:18] Speaker D: You would be like, how dare you wear those slippers with my clothes.
[01:19:21] Speaker C: His exact voice let me know, how.
[01:19:24] Speaker F: Dare you wear those slippers with my clothes.
[01:19:27] Speaker E: I would love to do Zach.
[01:19:30] Speaker C: What's up?
What's up?
[01:19:34] Speaker E: I'm going to add my. My tattoo boon, which is just a plus one. And because I. I haven't rolled yet, and I can do that before I roll. And I'm also going to cast guidance on myself. Is that chilling?
[01:19:48] Speaker C: That's chilling. You can cast.
[01:19:51] Speaker E: I'm scared. I want to know what check is this?
This is a stealth check.
[01:19:58] Speaker C: Now you have disadvantage.
[01:20:00] Speaker E: Okay.
Okay.
[01:20:03] Speaker C: It's really funny watching Micah roll on her chest.
[01:20:07] Speaker E: Okay, okay.
Now.
[01:20:13] Speaker F: B's got a 33.
[01:20:15] Speaker C: What?
[01:20:20] Speaker E: I cost 16.
[01:20:23] Speaker A: Wait, hold on.
[01:20:26] Speaker E: No, I got 16. 17.
[01:20:28] Speaker C: Okay.
[01:20:30] Speaker A: Tello got a 30. I got a 22.
[01:20:34] Speaker E: You're like, I got a 30. I'm like, I got a 17.
Yes.
[01:20:39] Speaker D: Is for some reason, she fell in the water somehow. Because she got somehow, bro.
[01:20:48] Speaker A: Made a splash.
[01:20:50] Speaker D: Yeah.
[01:20:52] Speaker C: Was walking forward and just accidentally moved her loot. Yeah.
[01:20:56] Speaker D: A9.
[01:20:57] Speaker A: They made a splashing noise.
[01:20:59] Speaker F: Well, boss is no longer good, by the way. He. He stopped after he felt the stealth on the ground.
[01:21:06] Speaker C: Yeah, no problem, Boss. Boss steps into the silt and both. But you guys just lose. Boss and Tello, you don't know where they are anymore.
[01:21:16] Speaker F: They're just bumping each other in the shadows like. Yeah, this is our second time being stealth together. This mini dungeon.
[01:21:23] Speaker D: So, wait, did they sink into the sand?
[01:21:27] Speaker A: No, they're just stealthing How?
[01:21:31] Speaker C: They just stepped away to where you couldn't see them in the sand.
[01:21:36] Speaker D: I got you, Ro.
[01:21:38] Speaker C: You rode horribly. But fortunately, this is a group stealth check. And so.
[01:21:45] Speaker D: Through death for carrying this one, guys.
[01:21:47] Speaker C: And actually, Ro, you go to step on one of the bones at one point, and like, Tello's hand just. And bosses at the same time dart out from the darkness and just, like, guide you away. And if you guys want to look in Lauren reference, you do not trigger the bone Naga to rise up out of the silk.
[01:22:07] Speaker E: Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh.
[01:22:10] Speaker C: The giant serpent of nothing but bones.
You watch as you guys just step past all the undead Bones just continue on through the space. You don't trigger it at all.
[01:22:22] Speaker D: But he's just a little guy.
[01:22:26] Speaker C: So you guys, you guys will still gain XP for that.
[01:22:29] Speaker A: Oh, cool.
[01:22:31] Speaker C: You did pass him. So you gain whenever you guys like. If you guys defeat a monster in combat, that's the full xp. If you guys just avoid a monster, I give you half xp, definitely, depending on the source.
[01:22:42] Speaker A: Aw, it's awesome. I like that.
[01:22:46] Speaker C: You guys tread carefully through this hall of bones.
Interestingly, everything here is getting more sculpted.
The walls are still rough, but they're getting smoother. And there starts to be an end to the walls and a clearer ceiling. You're still kicking up silt, walking carefully, but as you guys go for 80 or 90, 100, 150, 300, 350 foot walk, eventually you all reach another physical portal, once again covered by a pale, membranous film. Some solidified edge.
This instance, it's denser than the last one. Uniformly bound to the edges of this rough arch.
It's like the last one, but it's 20ft wide, 11ft tall. And this one looks like a Dark Souls door.
Doesn't seem to be passing through it. Yeah, Dark Souls door, but skin, Dead skin.
[01:23:53] Speaker A: Can I take a sample?
Cut off like a.
[01:23:58] Speaker C: How do you do that? Tell me. Tell me about that labyrinth.
[01:24:02] Speaker A: I'm gonna take my knife and I'm gonna cut like a 4 inch square and put it in my pocket.
[01:24:09] Speaker C: Okay?
Greta walks up and pulls out a knife and begins cutting through it. And when she cuts it, it cuts easily. Again. She makes her first incision, her second, her third, her fourth. And as she pulls the square away, you can add however you want to list that to your inventory.
And as she cuts it from the edges of where she cuts, it just begins, like, kind of falling apart. Like, this was even more decayed than the last. And the entire door starts slowly disintegrating in front of you all, just falling and sloughing away.
And as the door disintegrates, you all now look at a true chamber.
What stands before you all is you. Near this archway is a surprising space square, maybe 75ft in each dimension. Perfect geometries here, hard angles, a squat obelisk.
It's maybe it has 20 foot high inward sloping walls. A smaller square edge of the ceiling is a pyramidic peak maybe 30ft above the center.
It's got an ominous sense of dread. You all are still using those little handheld light spells from your hands. It's just this big space, this big square room that has a slope or like ceiling coming to a point in the center.
The water that passes into your lungs tastes strangely foul. Now in your mouth. Does someone want to give me a medicine check?
[01:25:57] Speaker A: You can do that.
[01:25:58] Speaker F: I'm great at medicine because I'm very wise.
[01:26:01] Speaker A: I got a 24.
[01:26:03] Speaker F: That's a 2, so 8.
[01:26:08] Speaker C: Boz, you're taken aback by what you'll see. That I'll describe more in a moment. But Greta, this place tastes like blood, which is really sad because that's got to be old.
But the water has a suffused taste of blood also with its briny hue. Along the walls of the chamber there are harsh, crudely carved glyphic sigils covering each of the faces all over the place. Not evenly, just like scratched all over the place. It's completely lightless otherwise, most notably, desiccated corpses of creatures you don't recognize. Aquatic humanoids.
Some are.
There are merfolk here, marrow, which are like fish people whose bottom halves are fish, but then their top half is like a. Like a scaling monster of a sort. Se. Se.
We'll just say one or two of you knows this somehow. They're like multiple armed shark people, sort of vicious looking. They're also bomb bodies of terrestrial humanoids here, littering the chamber, looking like ancient sailors. There's a body maybe every 10ft, so you could estimate easily more than 30 bodies in here just resting on the floor. The bodies are weirdly intact given the strange membranes covering this place, the age of the shipwreck out front.
The bodies are strangely unbloated, unfed upon. They have pale skin and scales.
But even though they look like they're dead and slightly in decay, they're not pure skeletons the way they should be. They're not horrible, horribly disfigured, disintegrating corpses. They're just strangely preserved dead bodies.
Most notably. As you all, I assume, step into the chamber, begin looking around. Okay. As you begin walking around the space.
[01:28:35] Speaker F: I have a question. And it actually is pertinent, not silly. Does it look like what I saw in my vision when I saw the chamber of the Hag?
[01:28:49] Speaker C: Remind me about that.
[01:28:51] Speaker F: I did a divination of the mad prince to see if we could bargain with the hag and what it would take.
[01:28:57] Speaker C: Yes.
[01:28:57] Speaker F: And I caught a glimpse into the chamber.
[01:29:00] Speaker C: It does look like that. Dear Goodness. Thank you. I did not remember that at all.
[01:29:06] Speaker F: Did Bella Andra tell me the name of the Hag at all, or just say that it was a secret Hag?
[01:29:11] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:29:12] Speaker D: Yes, we did know the name.
[01:29:14] Speaker C: She was Salgin, the Fathom Witch.
Salgeen is again spelled S A, L, apostrophe G, H I, I, N. The Fathom Witch.
[01:29:29] Speaker F: I want to. I want to.
[01:29:30] Speaker C: As you all walk before an environment.
[01:29:32] Speaker F: Happens, I want to just speak into the. The. I. I just want to make sure. If your thing goes first, obviously, but I want to try to address her before anything dangerous or violent happens. Like, I want to.
[01:29:43] Speaker C: I really appreciate. No, that clarification is helpful. That clarification is helpful. I'm going to describe a couple more visuals and then go on. But reserving that space is important and helpful. Thank you.
The other thing, very easily noticed here, is that every single one of the dead bodies in this chamber has a twin wound.
Some of them you can't see because they're face down or in different positions, but all of them have broken open sternums and caved in chests with a hollow middle, some with tissue or bone laying outward. Floating away in the center of the great chamber is a perfectly cylindrical stone altar covered in more of the same sigils. There are three levels of concentrically ascending stone steps, so it's like three levels of dais and then a stone pillar in the middle, each like 6 inch tall. So it's not a very high level.
Many of the room's dead bodies are piled around this central pillar.
As you guys step even slightly in, all of the sigils on the walls light up and the space just fills with a dull red light.
You can now see without your hands for a moment, this uniform, seemingly sourceless light.
That is my full visual description. Thank you for waiting. Landon, what is it that Boz does as the.
[01:31:26] Speaker F: As the. As they. As they light up? He. Oh, you can't speak underwater, can you?
[01:31:32] Speaker C: No. You guys have been talking this whole time.
[01:31:34] Speaker F: Okay, okay, so I say, and you can speak underwater.
[01:31:39] Speaker C: It's just if you can breathe water.
[01:31:46] Speaker F: I say, zach, what's the name of the ocean that we're in again?
[01:31:53] Speaker C: You all are in the Sapphire Desert. Yes. Okay. Good job.
[01:31:57] Speaker F: I dress her as you said. Salguin.
[01:32:00] Speaker C: Salgeen.
[01:32:02] Speaker F: The father, I say.
I open my hands as we step into the room and I say, salween. I say it the right way because.
[01:32:17] Speaker C: He just told me. But hey, there's no. Also, sometimes people say names wrong. In real life, it's okay to hack.
[01:32:24] Speaker F: Maybe, maybe not.
[01:32:25] Speaker D: But I say it the right way.
[01:32:29] Speaker F: Queen of the Sapphire Desert, I say we have come here hoping to meet in a place forward.
I do not wish to.
I. I do not wish to do anything harmful. I. I do not wish to engage in combat in your home. I would love to talk with you, and if you would let us allow us to have a conversation, I. I would be very appreciative.
[01:33:09] Speaker C: And I.
[01:33:10] Speaker F: And I sit on the ground.
[01:33:12] Speaker C: Okay.
What is everyone else doing at this moment?
[01:33:16] Speaker E: We follow his. I follow his lead.
[01:33:19] Speaker D: I'm doing the look that I just sent in the chat.
I'm giving. I'm giving a bunch of side eye. Like, I'll show.
[01:33:26] Speaker B: Shut up.
[01:33:27] Speaker D: But I'm not prepared to make deals with hags.
[01:33:32] Speaker C: Do not negotiate with hags.
[01:33:34] Speaker A: Greta takes her dagger out of her pocket and sits down next to boss and places it in front of her.
Not, like, out of reach, but she, like, extends her arm to put it down.
[01:33:48] Speaker F: He. At the end of what he says, he says, I'd love to speak with you in your home. As we both exist at the end of an age.
[01:33:59] Speaker D: I do the saloon thing for all the people that have died.
[01:34:05] Speaker C: To my face, the rose, just sitting there going.
[01:34:09] Speaker F: There'S so many millions.
[01:34:13] Speaker D: I mean, like, I understand. Take it in. And.
[01:34:16] Speaker C: Yeah. In this solemn moment of concern.
This is complicated for a reason you do not know. Could you give me a persuasion check? At disadvantage.
[01:34:32] Speaker F: Disadvantage. Okay.
[01:34:33] Speaker C: Okay.
[01:34:34] Speaker E: That's guidance. Somebody freaking cast guidance.
[01:34:36] Speaker A: No, don't cast.
[01:34:38] Speaker E: Oh, don't cast. Don't do that.
[01:34:40] Speaker C: I'll never get tired of Micah being, like, guidance and everyone going, no, it's.
[01:34:47] Speaker F: Like a barbarian that can cast spells is like, is that okay, guys?
[01:34:52] Speaker E: Why would you not.
[01:34:53] Speaker F: This is a big role. This is a big role.
Arby's, give us the meats. Everybody say it back. Everybody say, arby's give us the meats.
[01:35:01] Speaker E: Give us the meats.
[01:35:03] Speaker C: Do you want this to work?
[01:35:04] Speaker F: Say, arby's give us the meats right now. If you don't say it, it won't work. All right, wait.
[01:35:08] Speaker E: Give us the impossible meats.
[01:35:10] Speaker D: Arby's, give us the plant meat. Nice.
[01:35:13] Speaker F: Okay, you're right. No, I get it now.
[01:35:14] Speaker E: You're a vegan asparagus.
[01:35:17] Speaker F: Okay, so my first roll was a 13, so I gotta do this at disadvantage. So my top roll is a 13 without bonuses. I'll tell you What? My bonuses are in a second.
My best roll's a 19. That is painful. I rolled a.
What is that, 13. No, I said 13 plus 11. That's 24.
[01:35:41] Speaker C: What?
[01:35:43] Speaker A: What a love.
[01:35:45] Speaker C: What a conversation.
[01:35:46] Speaker E: You had us in the first half.
[01:35:48] Speaker D: That's why boss can do everything. He got that persuasion bonus.
[01:35:55] Speaker C: What do I do with this 24 though?
Okay.
Oh, this is crazy. Landon, you have completely flipped this scenario on my head. This is so not what I was expecting to happen.
Okay, I'm sending an image in Lauren reference, but please don't look at it yet.
[01:36:17] Speaker F: Okay, I will not.
[01:36:20] Speaker C: Okay, I'll tell you when to look at it.
Oh, weird. Okay, so you guys just stare at this chamber of dead bodies.
There's no clear point where there would be a person or where anything could lead from here. Until one of the bodies to your right shifts and one of the bodies pushes themselves up and turns and starting to raise up, kind of floating hauntingly in the water. Also, the body's a little too far. Far from you, from the lifted silt. And as it lifts a hand, the silt just parts.
And floating before you is this Sehagin woman.
She lacks like mammalian features or clear secondary sexual characteristics, but it's just like a fail. A frail, thin form, gaunt and narrow. She has legs, but she is so. She's like emaciated. Violently emaciated, but looks calm in the state. She has a humanoid rib cage that narrows very tightly to hips. And there are legs. Her feet splay long.
She. Her toes just kind of turn into claws. Claws. Not like claws on top of them, but they just sharpen to a point till her bones stick out of her digits. Her. Her forearms are almost twice the length of her upper arms and her fingers are each twice the length of her hands. Her fingers come to narrow, sharp bone points where her neck tapers very thinly. Her face is awful and confusing.
It's. It's like this pale teal impression of a human head. But the eyes are yellow discs that reflect the light off your palms. With Tupedum lucidums, her nose is a vacuous void where any flesh should be. The skull just exposed there where her ears are. There are the like gills of a fish over covering that space. Her mouth, like the upper jaw is just this rimmed like bass. Her mouth like looks like a bass's mouth, but the bones expose up off of her face. And she has these pointed, sharp needle like teeth. And her bottom jaw can come all the way down into this open, gaping like hinge and there's hair on her head until it starts to look like just a thousand thin, black like sinews floating away from her. You all can go to the image in Lauren reference now.
Salgein lifts herself up. And I have no idea who the original artist is, but they are all the credit in the world. I think this is art from one of critical role that someone did, but I'm not for sure is that haunting figure floats there or from campaign two. I mean, she turns like her head, like kind of cocks slightly and then twists a little too far.
And you realize she has no eyelids. Her eyes don't close, and her tupidum lucidum just reflect light. And she lowers herself all the way back down onto the floor until she's laying next to the dead bodies again. And she starts pulling herself, crawling, kind of like slithering across the floor. And she's just like. Like she's like brushing right up against bodies and pushing them out of the way. And she gets about 15ft from you while raising herself partially up into the dais, looking more beastial than person at this moment. She tilts her head to a side. She just looks at you all curiously.
She just stares in silence.
The gills on the side of her head are continuously lifting and closing. At one point, she opens up her jaw and exposes the, like gaping hollow of her throat. Throat. And you all watch as a space separates between her jaw and neck of just open where there's gills there and everything splays into a wide breath and then closes. She's just sitting there still staring at you all 15ft away in silence.
[01:40:43] Speaker F: O, not he. He.
He presents himself like he is somewhere that belongs to somebody else.
Like when you go to a stranger's house and you take off your shoes and then look to see if they say, oh, don't worry about it, or if they say, yeah, please take off your shoes and wash your hands right now.
Like, he gnaws at her. He doesn't display any facial emotions of unrest, disgusting or unnerve. I think partly because of Craig's ability of like him, radiating confidence and preventing fear is a big enabler of that. I think Boz feeds on that quite a bit.
But he looks at her and he says, we come here seeking something.
Most.
Most people I've met are also seeking something. And I'm hoping that we can come to an accord.
[01:41:59] Speaker C: And none of you all recognize the language.
Thank you.
[01:42:03] Speaker F: What?
[01:42:05] Speaker C: None of you all recognize what's said. Not the tongue, not the intonation, nothing.
[01:42:11] Speaker E: What about.
[01:42:12] Speaker C: And I say.
[01:42:13] Speaker F: I say, I say, Greta, you have the tongue spell prepared?
[01:42:17] Speaker A: Yeah, I cast it.
I'm looking to see how I'm gonna cast it on my.
On Craig Rowan Boz. And then I'm gonna activate my tattoo.
[01:42:39] Speaker D: Thank you, Craig.
[01:42:40] Speaker C: That's sick. What does that look like?
[01:42:41] Speaker D: Bless.
[01:42:45] Speaker A: I nod to her as she rises, and then I. I.
[01:42:59] Speaker F: I can't hear you. I'm sorry.
I think someone's talking to her.
[01:43:05] Speaker C: Yeah, I think so.
Let's all. What other things do we predict about Abby's scenario? Oh, she's back and squinting from light.
[01:43:13] Speaker A: I hope no one's talking to me. I'm alone.
No, but.
[01:43:20] Speaker C: Hey.
[01:43:20] Speaker F: Hi.
[01:43:20] Speaker C: It's me, the closet monster. You're doing great, bud. Just keep role playing.
[01:43:34] Speaker A: And then I touch my tattoo, and I say to her as it lights up, can I. Can I immediately mimic the speech that she.
[01:43:51] Speaker C: You can.
[01:43:52] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:43:53] Speaker C: You can.
[01:43:54] Speaker A: So I say, do I recognize what she speaks as a hag person?
[01:44:01] Speaker C: Don't it. This is not vithly tongue. You know that she is. She is completely isolated from your culture. This is. It occurs to you this may not be fay. This may not be a Sylvan derivative. You don't recognize anything about this. This might be, like, a subaquatic language. Are you good? Abby, what's happening?
[01:44:20] Speaker A: Yeah, sorry.
[01:44:22] Speaker C: Trying to get the camera to focus on with you.
[01:44:24] Speaker A: I'm gonna say.
No, I'm not gonna. I do that. And then I. I just cast it and I say that. I just close my eyes and we'll say that, like, from, like, the corner of her mouth. Text.
I think Greta would very clearly make it text.
Try to make it clear what spell she's casting.
She nods. Her tattoo lights up. Maybe she turns her face so she can see it. And then the text, like, flows into the mouth and ears of each of who she casts it on.
[01:45:04] Speaker C: As the script scrawls off of your face and around the beings of your friends, Salgin twitches. Immediately. Her gills flare, and she just.
And she adheres down to the dais and just freezes. Her claws dig into the stone. Keep feeling this isn't a very trusting individual. And you hear immediately understanding her say.
And you understand it to say.
[01:45:42] Speaker G: Banish your deific magic's foul food.
Why do you grumb?
[01:45:51] Speaker A: I say, I apologize for coming unprepared. I cast a spell so we can speak with you in your language.
[01:46:00] Speaker C: And as you say it back in her tongue, the posture is not trusting, but intrigued. And she lifts up, she careens. Her neck Forward. And you watch as each of her vertebrae pop a little bit so that her neck extends out to about like 9 inches long. Her head moving away from her shoulders like a turtle peering forward.
[01:46:20] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:46:21] Speaker C: And she's listening.
[01:46:26] Speaker F: Do you feel the changes that are happening in the world?
In the waters that you live in?
[01:46:46] Speaker G: Are you his?
[01:46:51] Speaker F: Whose the one who causes the undead to walk the ocean floor?
[01:47:09] Speaker C: Give me a charisma check of your choice, boss. If you want that to be persuasion.
[01:47:15] Speaker F: What'd you say?
[01:47:16] Speaker C: You interpret. You can make that persuasion. You can make that intimidation, however you want to do it.
[01:47:21] Speaker F: No, no, not. Not intimidation. Like honest. Like.
[01:47:24] Speaker C: I'm just saying you. You could get along with that.
See, Fight this lady so bad, but this is going so interestingly.
[01:47:37] Speaker F: Oh, Zachary. That is a 30.
That is a 19 plus 11.
[01:47:47] Speaker C: That's wild.
I.
[01:47:49] Speaker F: This is. I have expertise in persuasion. This is.
[01:47:56] Speaker C: You. Her. Everything in her recoils down. And you watch her shrink. And you watch as her face doesn't move, her head doesn't change position, but her eyes independently swivel up and hurt skull and look up at the ceiling as if she's nervously checking above her. And she just whispers.
[01:48:14] Speaker G: He won't come to the depths.
[01:48:18] Speaker C: I'll be safe here.
[01:48:20] Speaker G: He's concerned with the overworld.
I feed from your stripes.
[01:48:32] Speaker F: We do not in any way, shape or form serve him. We stand against him.
That's why we're here.
[01:48:44] Speaker G: What do you want?
[01:48:49] Speaker F: We owe a favor to a friend who is helping us stand against him. And she wants. She's requested for us to bring her to help control the weather.
[01:49:05] Speaker C: And as you say that she like gets low. She opens her mouth and you realize that the hissing sound is coming from when she opens up her gills. She can make them vibrate against the bones in the back of her throat. And it's that vibration. And as you do, she pops her shoulders out of her place and lifts her shoulder blades up like fins and spines. Getting defensive. She lifts her fingers. You know, double jointed people can like crank their fingers. She lifts. She pushes her fingers down into the stone and lifts them up so that the end of her digits are pointing up at you like blades. And she gets defensive. She says, you will not have my way of sacrifice.
[01:49:47] Speaker G: It's mine.
It is the only keeping me safe.
You will not leave with it, but I will have everything on you.
Everything in you.
[01:50:04] Speaker F: Okay? Okay. So you use it to break falls.
[01:50:07] Speaker C: Down one level of her deus. And she says, I'll eat you. And she takes like another elongated step and she says, I'll drink you.
[01:50:17] Speaker G: I live in you.
[01:50:23] Speaker F: Greater creatures than I that know the Sapphire desert as well, and its depths have gone to great lengths to flee this plane completely.
And we have assisted them and they have felt no safety in these waters.
And you can kill us, but I don't think it would buy you a lot of time.
[01:50:49] Speaker C: I. You.
[01:50:50] Speaker E: You're killing it.
[01:50:52] Speaker D: Wow.
[01:50:53] Speaker C: This. This is an intimidation check. And not like you're trying to pick a fight. This is. You're. This is absolutely.
No, no, I'm sorry. You can make this persuasion check for your stat. Yeah, you make this persuasion check for your stat.
Just playing on the intimidation. I love it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Make it. Make another persuasion check. Pause. You keep. What's happening is she's so disinterested in talking to you, but your char. You as a. As a player are making points too good and your character is rolling too high. So you keep like talking her back off the edge. So go ahead and make another check. This is incredible.
Discussing was not an option in my notes.
This is crazy. Cuz you guys avoided a scenario where you started searching the bodies. It was. It was perception. It was investigation or perception 27 to find her. Cuz that's what she rolled on her stealth and she was going to surprise attack you from the dead bodies. This is amazing.
[01:51:51] Speaker F: Okay, guys, I would really love. I mean I love combat, but I love this too.
[01:51:57] Speaker C: O.
[01:51:58] Speaker F: That's not as good. Oh, that is a 21.
[01:52:00] Speaker C: 21.
[01:52:01] Speaker F: I'm a 10.
[01:52:03] Speaker C: Okay. Okay. That's tough.
You've been very persuasive so far. She just says.
[01:52:17] Speaker G: How could you protect me?
[01:52:23] Speaker F: We're the only ones trying. Crying.
[01:52:28] Speaker C: There's not really any other me.
Some.
[01:52:37] Speaker F: Okay. Dm.
[01:52:38] Speaker C: Some ribbed cartilaginous flesh inside of her nose void like flexes slightly and she goes and she turns her head at Craig and she says, he smells like the false God.
[01:52:54] Speaker F: He does.
[01:52:56] Speaker D: He does.
Sorry.
[01:53:00] Speaker F: I say it like flatly, but with respect. Like acknowledging her point and not like. I'm also trying to be very honest with her and I don't know how much that matters to her as a creature.
[01:53:08] Speaker E: What does that mean?
[01:53:09] Speaker D: Ro does it laugh?
[01:53:11] Speaker C: I laugh.
[01:53:11] Speaker F: She's calling the maker a false God is what she's doing.
I don't know if Micah knows that if Craig would be able to put that together himself.
[01:53:17] Speaker E: But no, he's got negative one.
[01:53:22] Speaker F: I think he's coming from an island south of here. From a well that's poisoned with blood that is overflowing into these waters that will come here.
It's not a matter of if, but when.
We are going to go there and stop its flow. The pollution of the waters.
He. He will not take all of it.
That's where the dead are walking to.
[01:54:02] Speaker A: Get us.
[01:54:04] Speaker C: Okay, she's. She's starting to get a furrowed look on your face. She keeps looking at Boz and then back to Craig and then back to Boz.
She's like listening to you, but she's thinking about something. Go ahead, Greta.
[01:54:17] Speaker A: Greta. Except. And she says, with him, the end is only destruction. No matter where anyone hides or tries to get away. It's absolute.
[01:54:48] Speaker F: I've seen him tear holes in the fabric of existence of other planes. It does not leave much.
[01:54:55] Speaker G: I will survive under the sea.
But you.
[01:55:02] Speaker F: You might.
[01:55:03] Speaker C: And she looks at Craig again.
And she reaches up a gaunt arm and points one of those long fingers. And she says, you brought the false.
[01:55:12] Speaker G: God back one of his eyes.
You've come here to steal from me.
That's why you're here. I recognize the symbol on your chest.
You're from their order.
Wait, is she trickstering me?
[01:55:42] Speaker A: Who is she pointing to?
[01:55:45] Speaker C: Craig.
[01:55:45] Speaker E: She's pointing to me.
[01:55:48] Speaker C: She starts to, like.
As she makes whatever connection is going on her head, she starts like looking a little more nervous. Her eyes are darting back and forth. And those with really high passive perceptions row and Greta both notice her eyes kind of like dart backward and to the right. Like some corner of the chamber over there. And she starts like, kind of like prowling slowly to the other angle of the dais. Getting in between you guys and that corner.
She's like crawling herself, slinking across the de.
[01:56:21] Speaker F: I look at the rest of the fungi and I stand up and I.
[01:56:24] Speaker C: Say, as you stand up, she like kind of raises herself slowly, slowly. Okay, this is. This is the most pissed off, hateful being.
[01:56:34] Speaker F: I say.
I don't.
We've lost the ability to have allegiances with clear boundaries, beliefs or gods. And now it's all of us versus one.
And I hope that I can convince you of that. But if not, then.
[01:56:54] Speaker C: Then you.
[01:56:54] Speaker F: You have to do what we have. What you have to do. But. But it's here. Now or never. Would you like to help.
[01:57:04] Speaker E: Save yourself?
[01:57:05] Speaker C: Give me. Give me one last perception or persuasion check. This. This is crazy. Especially after the connection she made. I. If your roles hadn't been this good.
[01:57:14] Speaker D: Can I do a perception check of that right corner or an investigation check for any movement in that right corner?
[01:57:21] Speaker C: Investigation check would be going and searching. You can make a perception check.
[01:57:23] Speaker F: Oh, okay, okay, okay.
[01:57:29] Speaker D: It's a 13.
[01:57:31] Speaker C: Bo, before you tell me your result.
Oh, this is gonna be such a high DC.
I'm just gonna tell you the DC before it goes.
I want to make it like, DC 30 or something, but it's not anymore. You've. You've. You've. You've presented too convincing of an argument and succeeded too much. I'm gonna say you've brought the DC down like six.
There's gonna be DC 24 to convince her that you're not here to steal.
[01:58:02] Speaker E: And can I just.
[01:58:03] Speaker F: Wait, wait, wait, wait.
[01:58:05] Speaker E: You hear me say this?
[01:58:06] Speaker F: I rolled a 24.
[01:58:15] Speaker C: Incredible.
[01:58:17] Speaker E: You're kidding me.
[01:58:19] Speaker C: As you say what you say. Boss, you see this? What did you get on your check row?
[01:58:23] Speaker D: A13.
[01:58:26] Speaker C: It's shadows and bodies. Yeah.
Boz, you're watching. She. She is weighing two things, and one of them is what you're talking about, and another one is whatever she's talking about. And she just goes.
[01:58:49] Speaker G: What? Propose?
[01:58:53] Speaker C: And, Greta, you can say something as well if you want.
[01:58:56] Speaker A: No, I was just trying to cover that light. Sorry.
[01:58:57] Speaker C: Oh, I thought you were raising your hand.
[01:59:03] Speaker F: Give us this ability, and if we survive, we will bring you something great.
If we succeed, the entire world will.
[01:59:10] Speaker C: Be.
[01:59:13] Speaker F: In our reach.
And is there anything you've ever really wanted?
Something that you've heard?
[01:59:21] Speaker C: Everything.
Everything.
Everything.
[01:59:32] Speaker G: But if you can stop him, you could take anything.
Bring me the other eyes of the false God. Make him blind.
Damn him to his bit.
[01:59:50] Speaker F: Ian, is she talking about the maker or the. She's talking about the hate king. The other false God. His eyes.
[01:59:58] Speaker C: I don't know, buddy.
[01:59:59] Speaker D: Old.
I don't know about eyes. And the. And old gets dropped in the water.
[02:00:04] Speaker B: He's talking about old.
[02:00:06] Speaker F: Oh, the far seed. She's talking about a far seed.
[02:00:10] Speaker D: I. That's where my mind's going.
[02:00:12] Speaker A: Yeah.
[02:00:13] Speaker D: Above.
[02:00:13] Speaker C: Yeah. This is a crazy story. Alone in a sacrifice chamber at the bottom of the ocean. Dude, I don't know.
[02:00:20] Speaker A: Okay, well, but she was talking about the. The symbol on Craig's chest.
[02:00:26] Speaker D: Ro. Ro speaks up.
[02:00:27] Speaker F: The other false God, she said.
[02:00:29] Speaker D: The other false God speaks up and said. And says. Are you talking about a fary?
[02:00:37] Speaker C: Her neck whips so violently in your direction that it's like a jump scare in that. It's like a frame removal in a horror movie. Just. She's looking at Boz, and then she's looking at you. And as she just whips around to you, she goes.
[02:00:55] Speaker G: You are thieves.
You've come here to Steal from me.
You've come from the usurper.
[02:01:11] Speaker D: No, we. We just have also ran into a Farseed before.
[02:01:18] Speaker G: Yes, I have kept them out for decades.
And you.
You're the memes from my dream who put one back.
[02:01:40] Speaker C: Now he can see again.
[02:01:47] Speaker G: He's almost grown.
Your puppets.
[02:02:03] Speaker C: She's just staring at you.
[02:02:05] Speaker E: Stock.
Landon.
[02:02:09] Speaker C: Yes.
[02:02:10] Speaker E: I'm not trying to.
Not trying to metagame.
[02:02:14] Speaker F: Is this Micah? What's going on?
[02:02:16] Speaker E: This is. This is Micah. Well, because you're Landon, but Landon.
I mean, you guys can talk a little as players.
[02:02:28] Speaker C: There's room for some above table, but.
[02:02:31] Speaker E: I feel like I can't say anything because exactly, like, what just happened with Roe. We did not get the persuasive checks. She does not like us.
[02:02:40] Speaker F: She's saying a lot of things that are offensive to your religion. And if your character would speak up, then say it.
[02:02:44] Speaker C: Like.
[02:02:45] Speaker F: Like.
[02:02:45] Speaker E: Yeah, that's why he's shutting up right now. Because he understands this is a tense situation.
[02:02:50] Speaker F: No, like, as. As Landon. I, like, don't say nothing because you're worried about my plan going, right? Like, if it feels like Craig should say something right now, go for it and we'll handle it. Or I'll die. Who knows?
[02:03:01] Speaker C: Best players.
[02:03:07] Speaker A: That you feel like you.
[02:03:09] Speaker E: Can'T say is just that we haven't denied anything. Wait, I'll say that, but in a nicer tone.
[02:03:19] Speaker C: We've.
[02:03:19] Speaker E: Everything that we've said so far has been honest.
If we were a thief, then you.
[02:03:27] Speaker G: Gave the eyes back to the one who watches every movement of my people and feeds their worship. And when he eats all these eyes of your world and takes every vision and grows into the monster when all of his festering siblings come chasing after, there will be no hole that I can hide in.
[02:03:58] Speaker E: What if we retract?
[02:04:02] Speaker F: What?
[02:04:04] Speaker C: What if we.
[02:04:04] Speaker E: What if we retract? What if we backtracked?
[02:04:11] Speaker G: What?
[02:04:12] Speaker E: She just.
[02:04:15] Speaker F: You just.
[02:04:16] Speaker C: She just go, sorry, I have a negative one intelligence.
And you realize at this moment, Craig.
[02:04:23] Speaker F: I think everybody looks at Craig and.
[02:04:24] Speaker C: Unison, the entire party and Craig you put together might not be the sharpest knife in the drawer as well. You can understand a lot about magic and not necessarily be that smart.
[02:04:38] Speaker A: What?
[02:04:39] Speaker E: So basically what he's meaning. What?
[02:04:43] Speaker C: Just keep. Just keep talking. Just keep roll playing.
[02:04:45] Speaker E: We have not denied.
We haven't denied what you are asking for.
We haven't given.
[02:04:54] Speaker C: Oh, my gosh.
[02:04:55] Speaker E: Decision. We haven't given that she gets this final.
[02:05:01] Speaker C: Oh, Craig. There's this really weird moment where, like, all of that, like, Raising. She's starting to. You really. She can separate her ribs, and she's stretching her skin out. She's making herself look bigger. Everything just pulls back together, and she moves way too fast until she's about five feet away from you in this slip. During, like, just up to you, she gets about five feet away. She brings her arms in under her chest, kind of like a cat sits. And she's just got her legs just laying limp behind her, like, not utilizing them at all. She really. You realize she can put them together and her bones fit. They're slightly unaligned from each other so that she can put them together. And there's tissues from either side of her leg that wrap around so that she can turn her legs into kind of like a tail. And she gets close and, like, she sits up tall. She just looks at you and goes.
[02:05:54] Speaker A: Wild things I've ever heard.
[02:05:56] Speaker C: I mean, like, wait till campaign two. She goes. She goes.
[02:06:03] Speaker F: Zach.
[02:06:06] Speaker G: And take his eyes.
[02:06:11] Speaker E: Now away. We came across the first one.
I. We didn't mean to. We weren't intending to.
[02:06:20] Speaker G: I don't care.
[02:06:21] Speaker E: I don't even know how.
[02:06:25] Speaker F: I love her. I love. I love her. I really like her.
[02:06:31] Speaker A: I, I don't want to agree with this. I, I. Okay. I know that we're a very. This is above table. I know that we're a very honest.
[02:06:43] Speaker C: She was about to respond to you. Yeah.
[02:06:45] Speaker A: No, no, no, no, no, no, no. This is above table. I know that we're a very honest party, and I know that we are into doing what's best.
I don't know what it is about this, but we can lie to her and say that we'll do it and then not do it.
[02:07:01] Speaker C: Yeah.
[02:07:03] Speaker D: I mean, if we can. If we can pass that check, though.
Deception check.
[02:07:09] Speaker A: That's true. That's true.
[02:07:11] Speaker D: Then we got a fighter.
[02:07:12] Speaker A: Hold on, hold on, hold on. Making a promise is not a lie. Whether or not you intend to do it. Like, we can promise to do it.
[02:07:24] Speaker F: And then I'm gonna give the same what I gave Craig.
[02:07:27] Speaker C: I also don't understand.
[02:07:30] Speaker F: I love. I love 12:00am Abby. Ideas?
[02:07:33] Speaker E: No, no, no.
[02:07:35] Speaker A: This came up in a literature class. Like a, Like a.
[02:07:38] Speaker C: Sure, sure, sure.
[02:07:39] Speaker A: Making a promise. I don't know if I wish. I don't know if I can articulate it. But, like, making a promise is like, I will do that. I don't know. Trying to say. But, like, I don't know if I would first.
[02:07:55] Speaker E: You can have the best intentions.
[02:07:56] Speaker F: You might want to do.
How far away is she. From us.
[02:08:01] Speaker C: She's gotten very close.
She's about five feet away from you all now.
[02:08:07] Speaker F: Dang it. Okay, nevermind.
[02:08:08] Speaker C: And as, as Craig starts saying more things, she's interested. She starts getting a lot closer to him.
And Craig, at this point, she's going to go, if you blind him.
[02:08:30] Speaker G: We'Re friends.
[02:08:31] Speaker C: And she like, she pulls herself, she's walking like she's putting each arm forward and just pulling herself forward until she's like with you up next to you, Craig, are you taking any particular actions?
[02:08:47] Speaker E: Um, I just don't want her to touch me.
[02:08:52] Speaker C: Are you doing anything in particular?
[02:08:55] Speaker E: Oh, can I slowly.
When, when boss slowly stood up, did we stand up with him? Are we still sitting down?
[02:09:07] Speaker C: I don't know.
[02:09:11] Speaker D: I don't think I was ever stand sitting down, but I'm very short.
[02:09:16] Speaker C: Boss up. Okay, everyone's standing up.
As you all are moving into the space of negotiation, she just gets all the way up to Craig and just as if it's no big deal, Craig, she just puts her hands up on your shoulders, lifts herself up onto you and coils her body around you. And what she does is she compresses all of her ribs together and her ribs lock together like fingers so that her Torso gets like 6 inches around and her fine. Her spine starts to crack until she's flexible. And she wraps herself around your torso, up around your back. She clasps her arms around either side of your back so that she's wrapping around your chest. And as her legs bring up, you all watch as her kneecaps slide slightly and there's this cracking sound as her legs fold the other way and wrap around Craig like a tail. And she just rests her head around Craig's neck and goes.
And she opens up her jaw. All these needle teeth expose into the most horrible smile.
[02:10:27] Speaker B: My gosh.
[02:10:28] Speaker C: She goes, bring me.
[02:10:33] Speaker G: And I'll give you anyone's blood.
[02:10:35] Speaker C: What?
[02:10:46] Speaker E: I don't. I don't even know.
[02:10:49] Speaker C: Oh my gosh.
[02:10:50] Speaker F: So, okay, so here's. Here's what I. Here's what I think Boss is getting a little.
[02:10:55] Speaker C: I love this episode.
[02:10:57] Speaker F: I. I feel like he is not somebody. Boss is not symbolic that goes against the people that he has made agreements to or people that he's trust that have helped him. And we would not be here right now if it weren't for the person that she's disrespecting. And I feel like out of anger he says.
[02:11:16] Speaker E: Wait, hold on, wait.
[02:11:18] Speaker F: Oh my God.
[02:11:21] Speaker C: Now we're approaching metagaming. If someone's Making a role play choice. We're making a role play choice. Please keep saying what you saying.
[02:11:28] Speaker F: He said. As she's wrapping herself around Craig, he says, then die. And the three shadows attack her from Dogoth's cloak.
[02:11:35] Speaker C: And that is where we will end episode 139 of the Accidental Adventures. We will come back next time on a fascinating scenario.
[02:11:45] Speaker D: Did you say Andy die? Did you say then die?
[02:11:49] Speaker F: Then die.
[02:11:49] Speaker D: Then die.
[02:11:51] Speaker A: That's crazy.
[02:11:56] Speaker C: I'm just writing down in huge letters fight boss, then die message somewhere probably in Maine that we're beginning with.
With. Guys, my notes are so dense.
Crazy. Wow. That was our dance that we're. We're opening on you activating your cloak because.
[02:12:23] Speaker F: I don't know, the shadows are constantly there. The shadows are.
[02:12:27] Speaker C: Oh, then you having them. Okay, make a note. Everything else will need to come after initiative. But that is technically a surprise action. So please make a note to me somewhere in general or something that we're opening on the shadows attacking. And then everything else is Initiative.
[02:12:41] Speaker E: You do realize she could kill Craig?
[02:12:44] Speaker A: You know, she's like, what?
[02:12:47] Speaker F: A lot of hit points to zero. No hit points don't matter. If her strength goes to zero, she's dead.
[02:12:56] Speaker C: Micah doesn't know. What the hell?
[02:12:57] Speaker E: Craig, what?
[02:13:00] Speaker D: Tell Micah.
[02:13:01] Speaker C: Nobody knows what the cloak does. Nobody knows what the cloak does. I never managed.
[02:13:05] Speaker F: Shadows each get an attack. And since. Since it's a surprise attack, it's at advantage. It reduces her strength up to four. And if it gets down to zero, she's just dead. She hit points do not matter. But also, I mean, maybe this is an awful mistake I've made, but hey.
[02:13:21] Speaker C: We'Re gonna find out. Next time on the Accidental Adventures.
[02:13:25] Speaker F: I don't think Craig is going to die, guys. I don't know what someone could do.
[02:13:31] Speaker D: I have a vivified. I gotta revivify Diamond Craig.
[02:13:35] Speaker F: I've proven trapped regenerates. Even if she cuts off one of your legs, it will come back.
[02:13:41] Speaker C: Listeners, thank you for listening to another episode of Accidental Adventures. The players will continue to have more strategy conversations once the episode is over, but we thank you for listening. That went a wonderful direction at the end. I didn't know it was headed. I'm very excited for next time.
And remember that life is an incredible adventure and you're an important part of it. Skibidi Wapin Dada.
[02:14:04] Speaker D: What.
