Episode Transcript
[00:00:02] Speaker A: No recording. Welcome back to Bailey dnd. This is your Sword of Dungeons and Dragons podcast. If you are looking for your actual Dungeons and Dragons podcast, you need to go somewhere else. This is not it, quite frankly. We've talked about this, so you should know by now. I mean, we say this every time, but. Anyway, this is another episode of the Accidental Adventures. I don't know why I came in with that energy.
Its second session. Mikkel has gone to bed.
Abby is out, but she will be back. I have Lando and Jackie right now, but Abby is soon returning.
She's doing a little bit of driven. Vroom, vroom.
But before we get into today's episode, we have a lady question.
Well, see, I was gonna make a question about, like, a room.
[00:00:51] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:00:53] Speaker A: But Jackie already made custom rooms for everyone, so where do I go?
[00:00:58] Speaker B: If you could add something to your custom room.
[00:01:01] Speaker A: Well, I don't know. Can anyone. Can anyone else think of any other. I really should have thought of a letter of question before I hit record. That was an oversight on my part.
Yeah.
Oh, no. You just opened your mouth and hoped something would happen. That's a bummer.
[00:01:16] Speaker B: That's what it usually happens if you're.
[00:01:19] Speaker A: If you're.
[00:01:20] Speaker B: Oh, okay.
[00:01:21] Speaker A: No, no. Go, go, go, go.
[00:01:22] Speaker B: If your character could summon. I know we have magic and all, but if your character could summon anything. Anything in yellow print, Yellow brin. Just free will at any time, whether it be a food, an item, something. If they could just summon it and have it at any time. No spell slot needed. No, none of that. What would it be?
[00:01:44] Speaker A: Oh, have. Have infinite access to blind.
[00:01:46] Speaker B: Yeah, I think that's a good question at all times.
[00:01:49] Speaker A: Oh, it's in theme with being able to control the magnificent mansion. I like it, I like it, I like it.
Who do you guys want the DMNPC to be?
[00:01:57] Speaker B: Landon, you choose. It's all you.
[00:02:02] Speaker C: Let me see.
[00:02:04] Speaker A: Also landed another hunter there. Thank you for joining us after being exhausted in a concert.
[00:02:11] Speaker C: Yeah, no, no, I'm fine. I was just sitting most of the time. It was a very. It was a 30s concert, so it's just.
[00:02:16] Speaker A: Okay. Anytime I go out and do anything socially, I'm tired. Also, look how pretty these dice are.
[00:02:21] Speaker C: I think I'm going to choose love dice.
I don't know. I can't think of anybody right now.
[00:02:30] Speaker A: Dice more.
[00:02:32] Speaker B: The king.
[00:02:35] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:02:36] Speaker C: The man who has everything except freedom.
[00:02:39] Speaker B: Right? That's an interesting one.
[00:02:41] Speaker A: You know, does the man who has everything wants. And then we'll do King Ewan.
[00:02:54] Speaker B: I think for Ro.
It would be.
I think it would just be simple. I think it would be her favorite cupcakes from that bakery. And said if she could just.
Anytime she wanted it, just snap of fingers, have a freshly baked, warm little cake in her hand, I think that would be. She would just be.
She would be peachy.
[00:03:18] Speaker A: Well, the cool thing is only now she can.
[00:03:21] Speaker B: Yeah, technically.
[00:03:22] Speaker A: True, man, that every day she seems to be in a place and to have used that spell slot.
[00:03:27] Speaker B: Yeah, true.
[00:03:28] Speaker A: So basically, Rose. Rose, weighty task now is deciding every day between teleportation.
All the cupcakes I want.
[00:03:36] Speaker B: Yeah. What do you want? What do you guys want? Do you want a hot, fresh, cooked meal or do you want to go somewhere?
[00:03:44] Speaker A: Oh, man, that's amazing.
Oh. And then. Okay, sorry, boss.
[00:03:48] Speaker C: Now, before the king, Boz would want Marmite.
[00:03:53] Speaker B: What?
[00:03:54] Speaker A: Marmite?
[00:03:55] Speaker B: Isn't that like Vegemite?
[00:03:58] Speaker C: No, different than Vegemite. It's Marmite. It's the byproduct of. It's a thick, dark, salty, savory, very yeasty spread that is produced when. As a byproduct, when people brew beer.
And it's actually a very great source of B vitamins for vegans because it does not have any animal products and has B12 in it.
[00:04:23] Speaker B: So that's definitely good for Bob's. Because it's B vitamins.
[00:04:29] Speaker C: Exactly.
[00:04:30] Speaker A: Which is now only gonna be.
Landon in this episode. You're not allowed. You have to go now. Oh, my goodness. It looks so much like Vegemite, but I bet it tastes better.
You guys have any strong opinions on Vegemite?
[00:04:45] Speaker B: Yeah, I've had it.
I have a really.
I have a good friend that lives in LA from Australia, and she's also vegan. And shout out to shout out to her, Katya.
And she had. She had Vegemite all the time and she made us all try it at a party and it was a horrible experience. I hated it.
[00:05:06] Speaker A: I. I really try not to yuck people's yums, but.
[00:05:09] Speaker B: But it was bad.
[00:05:10] Speaker A: I had a friend give me a Vegemite in college and I was like, oh, wow, that's gross and bad.
[00:05:14] Speaker C: But I was Vegemite.
[00:05:16] Speaker B: I thought it was going to be like Nutella.
[00:05:18] Speaker C: British. It's crazy that the British think anything except beans and toast is spicy.
But they. They made. They made a. Basically a less spicy Vegemite and made it slightly sweet, and that's what it is.
[00:05:32] Speaker B: Oh, okay.
[00:05:33] Speaker A: I am not the first person to produce this. This sentiment, so I shouldn't get crazy for it or credit for it. But to have been the perfectors of colonialism and to ravaged all those cultures and brought back so few spices is just mind blowing.
[00:05:51] Speaker C: Well, they did make Marmite gold. They did make Marmite gold.
[00:05:55] Speaker A: And you didn't. You didn't bring back spice. Why?
[00:05:58] Speaker B: Because they couldn't handle the spine.
[00:06:00] Speaker A: Oh.
[00:06:00] Speaker C: Because they sold it all to extract all the wealth.
[00:06:02] Speaker B: That's true. True.
[00:06:05] Speaker C: They were too busy acting value to put it in their foods.
[00:06:08] Speaker A: Both of those answers. Oh, my goodness. True, true, true.
Anywho, the king.
Former King Ewan.
Former.
[00:06:21] Speaker B: Oh, no.
[00:06:23] Speaker A: You guys know about this? He's on the run. You know that.
[00:06:25] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:06:26] Speaker A: Duh.
The former King Ewan would want probably not something he'd admit, but probably a slightly more decadent food and not something crazy, just, like, something actively good.
Because whatever situation he's in right now, he's probably just eating, like, oh, my goodness, what is it? Where you just eat the amount you need to nourish? He's probably just sustenance eating right now.
[00:06:54] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:06:55] Speaker A: And so, yeah, I think he'd just want anything that tasted really great.
I think he'd want endless access to, like, you know, like, salted pork or something. Salted beef. Something from his world that would taste really good and be not just the bare minimum, because that's probably what he's living on right now.
Assuming he's living.
[00:07:18] Speaker B: Don't you dare.
[00:07:21] Speaker C: He's the one that sent us to the island of Ioun.
[00:07:24] Speaker B: We should bring him here and keep him on the boat. And every time I cast the thing, he can. He can get in the mansion.
[00:07:32] Speaker C: What's crazy is he gave us his seal to show them so they wouldn't kill us.
We ended up just not even. Yeah. No one brought that out.
No one said, hey, we came here on request of a king.
[00:07:45] Speaker A: That's totally, totally gonna be a thing. Like, 40 years from now, Greta's just gonna be walking around, like, fiddling around on her cloak, and she's gonna go, oh, and just.
Oh, well. And then she's gonna go on a memory shelf somewhere.
[00:08:00] Speaker B: Oh.
[00:08:02] Speaker A: Probably gonna be a trinket that gets showed to somebody.
Well, without further ado, I have two different names for this session, and we'll see which one I use. But this. Oh, actually, let's play this one little game, because I kind of like playing it, and this person doesn't like it isn't here. What do you guys think the name of today's session is gonna be of this episode?
[00:08:28] Speaker C: I think today's Session is going to be called Shopping Dough.
Part dough.
[00:08:37] Speaker A: And the part dough should have been D O U G H. Dang it, Landon. I don't want to play this game anymore. Why'd you come up with a better one than the one I had? That sucks.
[00:08:45] Speaker B: Home Cove is where the fun guys go.
All right, I'm not good at the names. It's a good thing I'm not naming them.
[00:08:54] Speaker A: Okay, that needs to be the flavor text for this. The flavor. The text for this episode. That was so good.
Well, this is episode 143 of the Accidental Adventures. Cove Away from Home.
[00:09:05] Speaker B: Oh, I knew it had something to do with the home and stuff.
[00:09:09] Speaker A: Or High Tidings is the alternate episode title. But we will see how things unfold.
It is now sihadron.
Well, okay, here's a question. Do you want it to be the 18th and there's some more time on the boat and all that, or do you just want it to be the 19th and you guys went back to homecove?
[00:09:32] Speaker C: I'm okay with just going back to homecove.
[00:09:36] Speaker A: All right, it's the 19th and nevermind. It's sihedron 19th and you're back in homecove.
Now, here's the question for you. Here's where this gets a little interest. Nesting.
Did you guys get back to Holm Cove by using the teleportation circle to the opalescent home, or did you guys go back to homecove by using the teleportation circle to the Pale Tower, which you now also have?
[00:10:06] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, It's Beckon. It's Beckon, by the way, which is my favorite day of the week. And y' all.
[00:10:12] Speaker A: Yes, yes. Thank you.
[00:10:15] Speaker C: I may have missed this. It may have been pointed out when we were talking about the Magnificent Mansion and my glossed over it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Does the mangrove tree. Is that tree stride enabled or does it not work that way?
[00:10:26] Speaker B: That would be interesting.
Yeah, because that'd be dope.
[00:10:30] Speaker C: That would be. If the mansion's built, I could tree stride to that tree.
[00:10:37] Speaker A: Let me get out the player's handbook. Okay.
[00:10:39] Speaker C: You know, some days, because if the food's real, like, if we can eat the food and have a banquet and eat the food.
[00:10:46] Speaker A: Yeah. Well, okay, this gets interesting because, like, transport via plants has rules on condoration on the same plane. Also, you can't take food out of the man. Like, things that exist.
[00:10:54] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:10:54] Speaker A: Exist outside of it, but then you get nutrients from it and you have.
[00:10:57] Speaker C: To go through the door. That would. But I don't know Like I wake.
[00:11:00] Speaker B: Up every day and we are in.
[00:11:02] Speaker A: A rethinking to myself. I'll be fine. Landon won't make me rethink anything today. And then you do. I don't know how I haven't learned my lesson by now.
[00:11:10] Speaker B: I guess I should have told you guys that we are in an like a extra dimensional dwelling basically is. What did they call it?
[00:11:19] Speaker A: Which could plane shift.
[00:11:20] Speaker C: Take me there.
[00:11:23] Speaker B: I mean, I can teleport us. We can walk out of them. Out of the.
[00:11:27] Speaker C: I know, but I'm thinking like bars. Like go can bars get there?
[00:11:30] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Like if you were gone, you could. And I still had the mansion up. Could you go out?
[00:11:37] Speaker C: You go to a concert. You have the spot that all your friends agree to meet up with.
[00:11:40] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:11:41] Speaker C: At the end if you get separated. It's like that. It's like I know something happens.
If that place is there, I can. You can go there and.
[00:11:49] Speaker B: Yeah, that's a good place.
[00:11:55] Speaker A: Which tower did you go to?
Let me read up on this and I'll give you a verdict hour.
[00:12:01] Speaker C: What do you mean?
[00:12:02] Speaker A: Or excuse me. Did you go to the place in Tome? Did you go to the Pearl Tower?
[00:12:05] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. Where do we want to go? Lando? Where are you needing to go?
[00:12:09] Speaker C: I need to go closer.
I'm not picky. I can go just about anywhere.
I, I. Let's just go to the opales and Tome because I don't know if I want to deal with drama with Kanaje and Jero right now.
[00:12:25] Speaker B: Wait, what?
[00:12:26] Speaker C: I don't know if not connage.
That's what I mean.
[00:12:31] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
By the way, I have a.
[00:12:34] Speaker A: You guys went to the opposite tome. No problem.
[00:12:35] Speaker B: Yeah, I have a. I bought a potion of invisibility. Landon as well. So if we ever need it in a pinch, one of us needs to turn invisible, you let me know.
[00:12:48] Speaker C: Okay?
[00:12:50] Speaker B: I got you. You. You need to be invisible. I got you.
[00:12:56] Speaker A: Landon. Same plane of existence. Ah. And magnificent in transport via plants. And magnificent mansion is technically a different plane. It's a demi plane. So.
[00:13:07] Speaker C: So mangrove tree does not work unless there's two bang ses. And some reason. If there's a tree in con and there's a tree in ours would be its own demiplane.
[00:13:17] Speaker A: They'd be their own demi plane.
[00:13:18] Speaker C: Wow.
[00:13:20] Speaker A: Yeah, well, but now let me read about plane shift. But you guys are in the opalescent tone. Feel free to discuss.
[00:13:31] Speaker B: Yeah, so I, I mean, you can just step out. I mean, we still have the tree in the poor bed you know, so, like, we can just step out and use that tree. Did we use tell. Well, we used.
We used your. Did we use the tree spell. Or did we use teleport? I just realized.
[00:13:55] Speaker A: To interject suddenly, Landon, this gets interesting.
Alternatively. Okay, so you can specify a target.
Una. Up to 8 willing creatures who link hands in a circle are transported to a different plane of existence. You can specify a target destination in general terms, yada, yada, yada. Such a city of brass. Alternatively, if you know the sigil sequence of a teleportation circle on another plane of existence, the spell can take you to that circle. If the teleportation circle is too small to hold all the creatures, they appear in the closest unoccupied space.
Okay, so you can also use planeshift to banish creatures. People never use it for that. Yes.
[00:14:28] Speaker C: Yes, you can. And it's one single save.
[00:14:32] Speaker A: So this is interesting.
If Ro makes a teleportation circle in the tower, you could guarantee that planeshift would take you there.
[00:14:43] Speaker B: So, wait, you mean in the mansion.
[00:14:46] Speaker A: Excuse me. Yes. Thank you. Sorry. In the mansion. So, but you can just make.
[00:14:49] Speaker C: When you create it.
[00:14:50] Speaker A: Yeah, exactly.
[00:14:51] Speaker B: Which can I say that? It's in the 10 foot room of the inside of the tree. That's dope.
[00:15:00] Speaker A: Absolutely. So here's where this gets really interesting.
So long as Ro has already cast Magnificent Mansion that day and it's up and she hasn't dropped. Yeah, as long as it's out there and it's up.
If she has put a teleportation circle in the mansion, you guys can all arrive there.
But you can plane shift there, but you couldn't teleport there, because teleport is on the same plane of existence. So Ro could not teleport you guys back to the teleportation circle she made, but Boz could plane shift everyone back to the Magnificent Mansion.
[00:15:39] Speaker C: That's very funny.
[00:15:40] Speaker B: That's crazy.
[00:15:41] Speaker A: I. I love a question I never thought I would need to answer. Brandon, that was a lot of fun. Thank you for. I. I had never considered that.
[00:15:51] Speaker C: That's so cool. So now, for the next 24 hours, I could plane. Do I have to have a tuning fork?
[00:15:59] Speaker A: I would. I mean, in general, for planeshift. Yes. But I would say in this instance, no, because it's just the demiplane that.
[00:16:06] Speaker C: What if we say ROE is the tuning fork?
[00:16:09] Speaker B: Oh, my gosh.
[00:16:10] Speaker A: She is technically. I mean, she. You could say that, like, one of the items she holds is an object attuned to that plane of existence. Since she made it. So that's fine.
The.
Okay, this. This creates a really interesting situation where you could create someone who made a secret home for themselves by having a teleportation circle for it. And everyone else thinking, oh, if I learn the teleportation circle, I can go to where they're going. But when they learn it and use teleport, it doesn't work because that person knows that that teleportation circle is only for a plane shift on a demiplane they control. That's crazy. I had. That's wild. Never thought of that. Mind blown. That's.
[00:16:52] Speaker B: I can use just for. Just for like spell slot usage bars because I have teleportation circle as well, and I have the.
The, The. The stuff for it. I could use teleportation circle to go to the opalescent tome. And that would just use up.
That would use up my. Ah, where's my spell sheet? And that would just use up a level five spell spell. So I still had my level seven and six spell slots if you wanted me to do that.
[00:17:26] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:17:27] Speaker B: For. And then you can just zap us back easily or whatever.
[00:17:30] Speaker C: That makes sense. Can we assume that the teleport circle is there on the plan, this mansion now, or does it need the next.
[00:17:37] Speaker A: Time Ro casts it? It can be.
[00:17:39] Speaker B: Yeah.
So next time I cast it, it'll be there.
But right now we're going to. I figured we waited till like, I figured we probably did some stuff in the mansion for a while, experienced it all. And then after the 24 hours was up, since it's the next day, we teleported it over to Abby's. Listening while she drives.
[00:18:03] Speaker A: Yeah, I muted her.
She wasn't muted. And I heard come through. And I went.
[00:18:10] Speaker B: And I figure I'll, like. It's gone. It's.
It's done. And then we teleport to the opalescent tome, and I can use teleportation circles and I'll mark those.
I'll mark those materials off.
[00:18:26] Speaker C: Yeah. Sound good to me.
[00:18:27] Speaker B: And so now I just used a level five spell slot instead of my level six and seven, which is a crazy thing to say because.
[00:18:37] Speaker A: I mean, there are a lot of moments in D and D where you make big, big power jumps, but you guys are officially big kids on the block once you're. Once you're teleporting and all that crap. I mean, that's a. That's a different level of dnd. So.
[00:18:51] Speaker B: Yeah. So anyway, so I. I did teleportation circle, which actually, that is the first time I've ever used that spell. Funny enough, Ro used teleport before she ever used teleportation.
[00:19:02] Speaker A: Isn't that crazy?
[00:19:04] Speaker B: That sounds about row to me.
[00:19:07] Speaker A: That does sound pretty rogue, doesn't it?
Oh, my goodness. That's true.
[00:19:14] Speaker C: All right.
[00:19:15] Speaker A: Well, we're at the opalescent tome. Yeah, you guys are in the opalescent home. A breakfast has been conjured and is provided. You know what? Actually no. Connager bought some from somewhere in town. And you guys are having. You're having a breakfast of warm croissants.
There is some like fried fish with it from the ocean. Very fresh fish.
There is. There are some shellfish with it that have been grilled and fresh fruit. It is. I don't know why I'm doing this. I'm getting hungry after I've already eaten. But it is delicious.
It's excellent, excellent breakfast. And she's serving it with warm tea.
The group is just sat around eating and in fact, Kanojay is as she's with you. More room and Greta are discussing a book.
Craig and Tello are playing boulder parchment shears and Kanaje as she eats with you all, you guys are all eating in her.
Her magnificent mansion.
As you all are gathered around the table, she just says, and what is next on the plate of the fun guys today?
[00:20:23] Speaker C: I have to get a couple of spell components.
[00:20:27] Speaker A: So no easy.
[00:20:29] Speaker C: Like tuning forks. I need lots of tuning forks.
[00:20:34] Speaker A: Of course.
[00:20:35] Speaker C: You know how I do? You know anybody that is good at tuning forks?
[00:20:40] Speaker A: You know I do.
There is very difficult individual to pin down.
Do you? Well, I assume you do. Do you know where Tasha's is?
[00:20:54] Speaker C: Yes, I do know where Tesha's is. The tree. The giant tree neighborhood.
[00:21:00] Speaker A: There is a person who can be found.
Advert and Landon. That is a d vard adverb.
A D V A R D.
They're a.
They're actually a. Well, they do a number of things. They sell different items and they really sell out of specificity.
They're an Eric Cochrane fellow. And you need to convince Edvard that you are not with the authorities.
Not to take afkins or anyone of that nature. But if you can convince, he will sell to you and yeah, he sells everything.
[00:21:59] Speaker B: Do you think we could convince him?
[00:22:00] Speaker C: Oh, he's a face.
[00:22:03] Speaker B: Do you think?
[00:22:04] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:22:05] Speaker B: Do you think we could convince him?
[00:22:09] Speaker C: We still have our wanted posters. We took them.
[00:22:11] Speaker B: Yeah. I was like by just like letting him know how wanted we are. Like, I have a wanted poster idea.
[00:22:16] Speaker A: Oh, I'm quite Frankly, I think I didn't want any Talmud recognize your face.
So I'm sure that would work.
[00:22:28] Speaker B: We gotta get there though.
[00:22:29] Speaker A: He feels.
He doesn't like heat, so.
[00:22:34] Speaker B: Okay, so maybe that's not a good idea about that.
[00:22:37] Speaker C: What if we turn into dogs?
[00:22:43] Speaker A: You all are very capable.
I would try. As you would. I'm sure you could figure something out. The other thing I wanted to say was I love having you all here. I'm not kicking you out. You are welcome to stay more. I didn't open back up. I can only shut down for so long. And I'm obviously going to be working on copying the text now. But I need to open the shop back up for more room to run.
[00:23:04] Speaker B: Of course.
[00:23:04] Speaker A: In business.
So I need purveyors to be coming back in and out again. Now, as you will know, I don't have a steady flow of customers all day long. It's not abnormal for no one to come into my shop for two days in a row.
I have a very specific clientele. But I do need passage to resume. So later today, probably after lunch, I'm going to open the shop back up. So please just know that for understood. Your own safety and anything like that, of course there will be a possibility of other people again.
[00:23:39] Speaker B: Understood.
[00:23:40] Speaker C: Okay. So. Shouldn't be flanching about with our regular faces.
[00:23:45] Speaker B: Well, I, I. Yeah, I can disguise myself. You can? Wild shape.
[00:23:52] Speaker A: No, there are magical backdoors such as the teleportation circle, but it's kind of important to the way the shop works on a number of levels. There is.
[00:24:02] Speaker B: Okay, that makes.
[00:24:07] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:24:09] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:24:12] Speaker C: So we shouldn't go as us, but we should go as someone that doesn't look like a narc.
[00:24:22] Speaker A: Not the terms I would use, but perhaps terms effort would use. Song.
[00:24:28] Speaker C: I ain't no narc.
Oh, could we borrow Dolgo? Oh, wait, no. He doesn't want. He doesn't want heat.
That would be a lot of heat. I said we should take him to Mace. To say like, hey, we took this from someone.
[00:24:44] Speaker A: Also, I've put that away from.
[00:24:47] Speaker B: Yeah, I don't think we should do that.
[00:24:50] Speaker C: I am wearing.
[00:24:50] Speaker B: We'll figure out. We're persuasive.
[00:24:52] Speaker C: Balls.
[00:24:53] Speaker B: We're persuasive.
[00:24:54] Speaker A: I trust you are. You've made it quite away on your own.
[00:24:57] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:24:59] Speaker A: Comes back and says let me know if. If we make any choices on anything. But I'm gonna go back and read in the library for a while.
I've. I've grabbed four or five interesting books that with Kanojay's permission and stuff. So I'm just gonna. I'm gonna go to the guest room and just read for a while. Sure.
[00:25:15] Speaker C: Greta, can I have $30?
[00:25:19] Speaker A: Sure. Here's 30American dollars.
[00:25:21] Speaker C: Thank you.
[00:25:22] Speaker A: Thank you, Greta.
[00:25:24] Speaker B: Boz, I have some money on me as. As well and I'm going with you. So if that's all right.
[00:25:28] Speaker C: I just wanted $30 from GR specifically.
[00:25:31] Speaker B: Oh, okay. From her specifically. Understood.
[00:25:35] Speaker C: Also, Greta, can you just real quick on the record, just say, yeah, Boz is really cool.
[00:25:45] Speaker A: You. And then when she goes to speak, it just goes.
[00:25:49] Speaker C: And then pause hearing what he asked to say goes up in a response. But you know, we can't say, you know.
[00:25:57] Speaker A: Okay. Craig is in a small push up competition with Morm. Now what's the party doing?
[00:26:08] Speaker C: I. I am going to find Aardvark.
[00:26:12] Speaker A: No advert?
[00:26:13] Speaker B: Nope.
[00:26:15] Speaker A: How do I try as a dm? And you know what? That crossed my mind when I named him that and I went, no, I'll be fine.
[00:26:20] Speaker C: What's his name? Aardvard.
[00:26:22] Speaker A: Advert.
Not Aardvark. His name's not Aardvark.
[00:26:27] Speaker B: His name is Arthur the Aardvark.
[00:26:35] Speaker A: Advard. Ad. Advert.
[00:26:38] Speaker C: Yeah, Advert.
This isn't. This isn't. This isn't. This is just. This is not bad.
All right, I'm going to go find Advert.
[00:26:47] Speaker B: I mean, I mean we could. Boss, I could like so that the rest of the party can like chill and not bother. Connoisseur. I could like a conjure up our place somewhere near here and no one else could get in. But I wouldn't want the door to.
[00:27:03] Speaker A: Be something that the other mansion right now that everyone hanging out.
[00:27:07] Speaker B: Well, is that allowed? She wanted people to open it. I didn't want her to bother. I didn't want it to be a bother.
[00:27:13] Speaker A: No one else goes in her mansion. It's her place.
[00:27:15] Speaker B: Okay.
Okay then. No. No.
Okay. Okay. Balls. I'm gonna disguise myself looking like how.
[00:27:27] Speaker C: Many freaking disguise spells?
[00:27:28] Speaker A: I don't think I have any cool.
[00:27:30] Speaker B: Guy instead of a fun guy.
[00:27:32] Speaker C: Well, you can watch my ability to disguise myself as someone someone used to know. I used to be able to do that. I used to look into someone's mind and turn into someone they knew.
[00:27:40] Speaker B: Why did you stop doing that?
[00:27:41] Speaker C: Because I became a first Flame Man.
[00:27:43] Speaker B: Oh, yes, yes, yes.
[00:27:47] Speaker A: Have you Bonds? You haven't sold your band of unruly illusions, have you?
[00:27:52] Speaker C: I do not.
I put that on.
Let me see. I don't think so. I don't know. Is That a two me. You tell me.
[00:28:04] Speaker A: Don't remember.
[00:28:07] Speaker C: Okay, I don't remember. That's just the joke.
[00:28:09] Speaker A: Okay, that's all right. Let me.
Let me go find it.
[00:28:14] Speaker B: I like a really.
[00:28:16] Speaker C: Why is standing hurting my back?
[00:28:21] Speaker A: Well, it depends on the way. I mean, the arch of your spine can still proportion your black screen. Squeeze your glutes and squeeze in your core.
[00:28:28] Speaker B: Greta's I. I am gonna disguise myself as. Like, I want to look. I want to look kind of rough. Like, I want to look like a. Like a. Like a pirate would look.
But like not. Not so. Not so out there that like, you know, I draw attention to myself, but I want to look like a rough sailor chick.
[00:28:56] Speaker C: And what do you do with a rough looking sailor? What do you do with the rough looking sailor?
[00:29:02] Speaker B: What do you do with what you will mansion?
Like, I want to look kind of. Yeah, you know, that's what I look like. Not so much that the Kapkins are like. Oh, is that. Looks like a bad person. Do we need Phantom?
[00:29:19] Speaker C: And I attune the ring.
[00:29:21] Speaker A: Okay. Okay. Sick. Thank you, Landon, for saving me the.
[00:29:25] Speaker C: That's not supposed to be possible. But I attuned something other than Phantom.
[00:29:29] Speaker A: Oh, shoot. That's right. You were just testing me. And I failed. I fail.
Okay, here it is. It is.
It is a tune, but you would unattune something non essential. Oh, he's taking pills. Pills, pills.
What's a. What's a non essential item?
[00:29:55] Speaker C: You could momentarily or my. My she. Druid's defense. I leave it on, but I don't attune to it.
[00:30:01] Speaker A: Okay, okay. Druid's defense is temporarily unattuned. You can reattune with 10 minutes. So you're using the band of unreal illusions.
You need to roll for it. You need to roll a D20 and it'll tell you what disguise you can do.
You have D20?
Yeah.
[00:30:24] Speaker C: Six.
[00:30:26] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:30:29] Speaker B: I'm scared.
[00:30:31] Speaker A: In a shimmer of gossamer light, Boz turns into a quivering mass of sparkling gelatinous ooze. No, it's a swirl of colors. You just.
[00:30:41] Speaker B: Gross.
[00:30:42] Speaker A: Now, the way this ring works.
[00:30:43] Speaker C: Can I try again?
[00:30:45] Speaker A: If you. Yeah, you can just twist it again and it'll recast the disguise.
[00:30:50] Speaker C: You see the ring twist spinning inside the gelatinous cube?
[00:30:54] Speaker A: Yeah, it's just going.
All right, so go ahead and roll again.
You what?
[00:31:00] Speaker C: I got another six.
[00:31:04] Speaker A: He just.
And now he looks like a big pile of just. He just looks like grape jelly.
[00:31:11] Speaker C: I'm gonna try. Zachary, can I just try again?
[00:31:14] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah, keep going.
[00:31:17] Speaker C: I got a two.
[00:31:18] Speaker A: Okay.
Okay, Boz. And another gossamer sparkles. He turns into an unkempt and unsightly vagabond dressed in tattered clothes.
[00:31:30] Speaker B: Nice.
[00:31:30] Speaker A: We look the same.
[00:31:32] Speaker C: Do I look old or young?
[00:31:33] Speaker A: You look like a rough sailor.
[00:31:35] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:31:40] Speaker A: Does she have scurvy?
[00:31:41] Speaker B: Walk into the ball.
[00:31:43] Speaker A: She looks like a sailor with scurvy.
[00:31:49] Speaker C: Scurvy, Jackie.
Oh, no. Oh, no. I just googled scurvy.
[00:31:57] Speaker A: Oh, no. Yeah, don't do that.
[00:32:00] Speaker C: Is scurvy the new diabetes? This is the top result.
[00:32:03] Speaker A: What?
[00:32:06] Speaker C: Oh, gosh. Oh, I need to close those tabs. Okay, I think psychic damage. Look. How bad is the scurvy, Zach? Is it, like, just starting out, or is it, like, moderate?
[00:32:17] Speaker A: It's.
I put the details for the Band of Unruly illusions in your channel.
[00:32:21] Speaker B: Lando, why do you get scurvy from. From not from having too much sun.
[00:32:27] Speaker A: No, not enough vitamin C. Vitamin C?
[00:32:30] Speaker B: I knew it was a vitamin.
I've been looking up vitamins.
[00:32:37] Speaker A: Landon, earlier today, we learned out that Jackie almost. She had to go to the doctor for a lack of vitamin D because she was going outside so little.
But she's just the way she does.
So, Baz, do you want to describe the. I mean, you don't have to. Do you want to look like the unkempt, unsightly vagabond you look like? Or are you, like. Nah, just.
[00:33:00] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. Yeah. Fully clothed. A little rough.
[00:33:03] Speaker B: Good.
[00:33:05] Speaker C: Not like my clothes are falling apart, but just, like, unkempt and unclean, but still put together. Like, I could walk into, like, a bar on the wrong side of town and not be like, ew, what is this guy doing here? You know, like he would fit in.
[00:33:21] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:33:22] Speaker C: More like a thief in the night than stinky man.
[00:33:27] Speaker B: So we both look like of this?
[00:33:30] Speaker C: No, you've got, like, a bandana, eye patch, parrot, and a peg leg. I'm like.
[00:33:35] Speaker B: I don't have a parrot.
[00:33:37] Speaker C: I've got a shank in one hand and some skooma in the other.
[00:33:40] Speaker A: Okay, importantly, importantly, Boz, you have to look like an unkempt vagabond. You can look like those other things, but you have to look a little dirty.
[00:33:48] Speaker C: Oh, I'm very dirty. I have soot. You know, like the guy from Mary Poppins.
Chimneys. I look like that. Some of it's on the clean.
[00:33:56] Speaker B: Chimneys.
[00:33:57] Speaker C: Darkness.
[00:33:58] Speaker A: What are you?
[00:34:01] Speaker C: I am a.
Oh, my gosh. I want to be a really cute bird from Humblewood. I want to be, like, a really tattered vagabond. Looking like some feathers. Like it's like, like molting season.
[00:34:16] Speaker B: You can be my parrot.
[00:34:19] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:34:20] Speaker B: That's not a parrot.
[00:34:21] Speaker C: I'm a little bit too big to stand on your shoulder. But I'm a bird.
[00:34:24] Speaker B: I'm like, you're my bird to my pirate.
[00:34:27] Speaker A: Like a.
Well, I don't think they have one for parrots, but you could be like an African maa. Kind of. Or an African gray parrot.
[00:34:35] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:34:37] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:34:38] Speaker B: Ice.
[00:34:38] Speaker C: And I have a tiny little sword.
[00:34:40] Speaker B: Oh, my God.
[00:34:41] Speaker A: This is going to get really funny in a second.
I'm going to. This is going to get really funny in a second. Okay, screw the caps. Screw the caps.
And then ro. You just look like, you just look like your size. But a sailor. What's.
[00:34:59] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, I, I, I am.
[00:35:05] Speaker C: A singing sailor.
[00:35:07] Speaker B: No.
[00:35:08] Speaker A: What's like a musical all the way down, just singing and dancing.
[00:35:17] Speaker B: What, what is a really common species in Home Cove? Like, whatever.
[00:35:24] Speaker A: Okay, so here's the thing. Here's the thing. Here's the thing.
[00:35:26] Speaker B: Oh, I'm a sailor.
[00:35:27] Speaker A: New dnd changed race to species because. Good, because people could be like, I'm an orc. And then like, like, people would be like, oh, that's a lizard folk. And then, and then the book would be like, that's a different race. And you're like, that sounds racist. But then here's the other thing now, so the species terminology feels better, but now when you talk about, like, elf and human, you have to call them different species.
That feels like a different kind of racist. So I'm just gonna call it mechanically speaking, they're racist for the sake of brevity, but for the sake of respecting people, I'm gonna say a different, like, like a different kind of people. You know, that's what we're gonna call it because that doesn't sound like a different era of racism.
So some of the peoples around homecover, I mean, homecover is, is very, very diverse. So you could very easily be most of the races in y. But like, a halfling would be very nondescript. Or, or a human or a half elf or. Yeah, I mean, you know, but yeah, let's just go. It's Home Cove. Very few things are out of place. You could be almost anything.
[00:36:37] Speaker B: Let's just go halfling.
[00:36:40] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:36:41] Speaker B: That way she stays the same size in all too, pretty much.
[00:36:44] Speaker A: And well, that's good because disguise self. I think you have to stay most.
[00:36:48] Speaker B: Well, you can, you can go up to a foot.
[00:36:51] Speaker A: Like a foot, right.
[00:36:52] Speaker B: Wider, taller. But still, when you like if someone were to touch.
[00:36:57] Speaker A: Stay focused, Zach.
[00:36:58] Speaker B: No. Oh, my gosh. It's Jean Kelly. Get out of here. That's from Singing in the Rain.
[00:37:03] Speaker A: It looks like Marlon Brando, but any watch.
[00:37:07] Speaker B: Singing in the rain, please.
[00:37:10] Speaker A: Which of you is doing something and who's doing it first?
[00:37:12] Speaker B: Anyway, I, I. If you like, swipe through. It'll show.
We're on our way.
Halfling, pirate, and.
[00:37:21] Speaker A: Oh, you're going. You're going together?
[00:37:23] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:37:25] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:37:25] Speaker B: He's my bird to my pirate.
[00:37:28] Speaker A: Oh, you're good.
[00:37:29] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:37:29] Speaker A: Screw the caps, screw the cash.
Okay. You guys are walking down the street in Hong Kong.
Oh, man, this is gonna be just really a mess.
[00:37:46] Speaker B: Ro is not as good at accents as I am, matey is what I'm gonna tell myself.
[00:37:52] Speaker A: You know, you kind of had it until the matey, and then.
I don't know about that last part.
You know what? Actually, let's go with this one. This is kind of fun. I don't think I've ever used this song before.
Let's see.
Can you guys hear that?
[00:38:09] Speaker B: Oh, okay.
[00:38:11] Speaker C: Sounds like a jaunty sea. Shanti.
[00:38:16] Speaker A: Ashanti. All right.
And so as this unlikely pair is headed down the street and maybe Red F. Abby comes back, you guys are just.
How.
How did I let this happen? How are we getting here?
The party is just walking through the thoroughfare of homecuff. This is an interesting experience because first of all, Honk Cove is very equatorial. You guys are right around the equator in the eastern hemisphere, and it's very Mediterranean here. So as you all well know, especially Ro, who spent years here. But you get both as world travelers, the seasons don't particularly change. So even though you're in Sihadrond, even though you're in the the first month of winter, I think, I believe that's the first month of winter. When you're in the first month of winter, things here feel pretty similar to how they did your first time. You came here at the beginning of the end of spring and the beginning of summer.
The difference is that things are just a little drier.
The whole city looks like it hasn't had rain in quite some time.
Things look very desiccated, and it's a little cooler, but not cold. It's just kind of like 73 maybe, so very pleasant. There's a slight breeze on the day.
Everywhere in the city kind of has that ocean swept scent even a mile up into the city, because that entire caldera catches the breeze that comes off of the ocean.
And as you guys walk down the bright, sort of like it's a cobblestone, but like a kind of warm, darker reddish tone to the cobblestone because it's all from that, it's carved from that caldera. And so it was very long ago, igneous rock, but it's been smoothed and worn down, especially by thousands of feet.
You guys just travel through the Home Cove streets that you know well. The very diverse architectures, many bright colors.
Many of the buildings here are classic grays and whites and browns. But many of the buildings here are painted in old and chipping red and blue and green and orange and yellow and purple and you know where people can afford those colors. And as you all know from the past, many of Holm Cove's buildings look very traditionally medieval. Other have Mediterranean influence, others still sort of like pre gothic, lower upper class architecture. It's just a great array.
And as you guys walk through the city streets, you know, well, it's many of the things you've long missed in this place where you all are so different. The greatest difference of which being that.
The greatest difference of which being that you need to look like you're not you. And even though you return here so much more capable and powerful and able, you need to hide away your faces and pretend you are not who you are.
It's about hour and a half, two hour almost walk.
This puts you at about probably like I don't know, 11, 20 ish by the time that you guys reach the.
The gigantic port that makes up a quarter of the oceanfront lineage of the city. And those docks go out for hundreds and hundreds of feet before they meet any of the water where the ships can dock. And it's still that wide beach where many people are gathered and some children playing. Many people fishing for sustenance there. And the port is less full of ships than in the summer, but still, I mean hundreds and hundreds of ships because it's home craft cuz we plundered them.
And you are passing dense citizenry all around you on your way, on your way to just the shore, you probably pass 5, 600 people, maybe more.
And there are Kevin guards in the city, but less. Like Kanay said, for reasons unknown, the Kevin have withdrawn greatly. Something they have not done in ro. You know this off the top of your head. They have not withdrawn significantly, certainly not from Starstar and homecove in about 200 years.
They don't really retract troops ever.
So this is strange. It's like a momentary relief kind of laced with like a.
What's up with that.
[00:42:59] Speaker C: Has anyone ever seen Rogue One?
[00:43:04] Speaker A: I have.
[00:43:06] Speaker C: Remember when the Empire left.
[00:43:11] Speaker A: Favorite Star wars movie. And then, all right, a third moon shows up on the horizon.
A wookie runs by, but the guards are. Are fewer. You guys pass like a guard every two blocks. I mean a really, really lessened presence. And not only because it's within the borders of the Empire, but you guys remember the last time you were here? Home Cove is the third largest naval port for the Kefkan Empire in the. In the entire Empire in their reach. So greatly reduced.
And go back to the cop bar.
[00:43:50] Speaker C: And see who's there now. Who's new cops? No, who's the new cop? Zach.
[00:43:57] Speaker A: So you guys are. Are traveling through homecover.
[00:43:59] Speaker B: Do we see any wanted posters up as we go by for anyone?
[00:44:04] Speaker A: 7.
[00:44:05] Speaker B: Any for us?
[00:44:06] Speaker A: Walk down to the beach there.
Three of them are for you. Four of them are for the warriors of the.
[00:44:12] Speaker B: Well, have they gotten any better looking or do they still look the same?
[00:44:17] Speaker A: Discouragingly, yes. Oh, they do not look like you.
But they look vaguely like you. Which isn't great because they used to look not at all like you. Yeah, and now they look. They look like. Like a six out of ten like you all looked six months ago.
And all three of the ones of you all are the same. They're clearly identical. Prints.
Printing press has been invented at this point. History. The words of the wall. Interestingly, two of them look the same. That two of them look different from the other two, but the same. So clearly those are also printed, but one of those is newer than the other. Set the reward on. So on the poster as you all read, information for information about you all if reported to a captain of the city is.
Is 10 silver for credible information about you, which is a lot of money.
[00:45:20] Speaker B: That's a lot of. Yeah, you're right. You're right, you're right.
[00:45:22] Speaker A: Okay. I know Junior Avengers.
[00:45:25] Speaker B: That.
[00:45:26] Speaker A: That doesn't sound like a lot, but remember, one silver is like 30 bucks. That's like 300 bucks for credit.
[00:45:33] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah.
[00:45:36] Speaker A: Proof of your whereabouts within 24 hours is 5 gold, which is. That's a lot of money. That's like 1500 bucks.
And then your heads are each worth 7000.
So you know.
[00:46:07] Speaker C: Are different heads worth more or less?
[00:46:11] Speaker A: Each head is seven.
[00:46:12] Speaker B: That would be so rude.
[00:46:14] Speaker C: Can I add 500 to.
Oh, bosses.
[00:46:20] Speaker B: What? You gotta write it on there.
[00:46:23] Speaker C: No, I don't do that.
[00:46:24] Speaker B: Since I would.
[00:46:25] Speaker C: Can I pause would think about it.
[00:46:26] Speaker B: Like, can I slide of hands? Try to. Try to steal One.
[00:46:33] Speaker A: Well, I want to make a really interesting thing happen here, but your passive perception is too high. There are no Kefkins around at the moment.
Now you can. You can make. Yeah, give me a sleight of. Give me a slight of hand check.
[00:46:46] Speaker B: Rolled at all tonight.
[00:46:47] Speaker A: Wow, this is. This is some really heavy nostalgia. This feels like. This feels like episode 23, energy right here.
[00:46:55] Speaker B: That's a 13.
[00:46:57] Speaker A: Holy crap. I think it was 24. Okay.
10's average, right? 10's average, so it's better than average.
So what happens is, in a busy commercial street, this one's not like a. Like a. Like a jobs or notice board.
[00:47:14] Speaker C: This is.
[00:47:15] Speaker A: Yeah, nailed it.
Ro kind of walks up and she does a good job just ripping it down really fast, and she keeps it all together. You know, you lose the corners. It tears a bit on the side, but you've got it.
That doesn't mean that nobody sees it. Yeah, she doesn't do a good job. She does a fine job. She's a quick. Only three people notice.
None of them are Kefkin guards.
[00:47:42] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:47:42] Speaker A: Like, three different people just stomp. And one of them kind of, like, looks at you and is like, big city. They don't care. They keep walking.
[00:47:47] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:47:47] Speaker A: Another person who kind of looks at you guys for a bit. One person stops and stares. It's like this older gentleman.
He's.
He's got this, like, crown of hair. Everything's balded in the middle. He's, like, fairly well dressed, but none of the clothes, like, fit him well anymore. Like, the shirt's too big and the pants are pulled up too high.
And he's. He's an older Tabaxi fellow who's going bald in the middle of his head. And he, like, turns his ears out slightly, and he's got, like, an underbite at the point in his life. And he's just staring at you all very judgmentally.
[00:48:18] Speaker B: Just Ro. Ro smiles at him and just kind of raises her eyebrows and then just keeps walking.
[00:48:23] Speaker A: He, like, sneers slightly and goes.
And then he, like, walks further down the street muttering to himself.
[00:48:34] Speaker B: I love it.
[00:48:36] Speaker C: Pause. The bird goes.
[00:48:43] Speaker A: I really want to say something about. You don't have a tongue, but parrots do, so stick out your little.
[00:48:48] Speaker C: I know parrots do.
[00:48:49] Speaker A: That's why I said you can't extend your bird tongue. So you just open your beak and just raise it.
Yeah.
[00:48:59] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:49:00] Speaker A: And the best part about all this is that disguise self doesn't change your voice, so. Pause. Doing his best vocal.
No.
[00:49:08] Speaker B: And Ro is Trying to be like I there mighty.
[00:49:12] Speaker A: I'm sure she is. You know what, while we're on that, why don't you give me your performance check?
[00:49:18] Speaker B: Okay then.
[00:49:21] Speaker A: Yeah, you too. You too.
I like the second session.
[00:49:26] Speaker B: That's a 25.
I rolled a 10, but my performance is plus 15 at this point, so.
[00:49:34] Speaker A: Oh, do you have soul Mender on you? You do, don't you?
Is it soulmate or song splitter who gives you that extra?
[00:49:39] Speaker B: Song Splitter gives me the extra buff.
[00:49:42] Speaker A: But which do you have?
[00:49:44] Speaker C: Here's a quick question.
[00:49:45] Speaker B: Both, but they're hidden.
[00:49:48] Speaker C: Could Ro be giving boss the help action?
[00:49:51] Speaker B: No.
[00:49:52] Speaker A: No.
[00:49:52] Speaker C: Yeah, this is a combined average.
[00:49:55] Speaker A: No.
[00:49:56] Speaker B: Are you sure?
[00:49:57] Speaker A: Did you get bust?
[00:49:59] Speaker C: I got a NAT one.
[00:50:04] Speaker A: Well, this is not a critical moment. Here's what's happening. Here's what's happening.
Yalabran is a. Is a fantastical world.
What could sound like a bad pirate accent to us is actually Oscar winning accurate pirate accent for a specific subset of pirating criminals in Yalabur. There is a sub. A pop. A sub population out there who sound exactly like the way Jackie is doing this right now. So Rose nailing it.
Boz.
Boz is doing a passable impression of a parrot.
Apparently no. Eric Cochrane's really sound like that fan.
[00:50:52] Speaker C: Oh, so I'm not an Eric Cochran.
[00:50:56] Speaker A: Okay. To absolutely anyone who knows anything about any of the avian peoples in yellow. And Boz just looks like he looks like someone like entering Texas and going like how where are y' all going for the truck and gun? And just like everyone's just so. He's getting looks from anyone who's ever met any Eric Cochrane or relative passing by.
But Boz, you're doing pretty good. You feel confident in this impression you're doing.
[00:51:29] Speaker B: No one knows it's Boz and Ro. The two most the two.
[00:51:33] Speaker A: Because part of this, not one, is not only you're doing a bad job, but that you're very confident in that job.
That's all that's happening right now at this moment. You guys are. You guys are headed down the street. Boz, you remember clearly enough which direction Tesha's is. So after maybe another half hour of walking the ocean spray nearby, washing up on the beach brings up a clear sinus invigorating scent. And you walk by many good smelling food carts, even though you've just recently eaten and people move all around you, you get some looks from some people and actually, you know what, with the balance of a 25 and a NAT1 pause. Why don't you, Abby? I'm. I'm unmuting you. Have you. Have you tagged along with them? Greta?
Okay, how are you disguising your.
[00:52:37] Speaker B: Say.
[00:52:38] Speaker D: That when we left?
[00:52:38] Speaker A: Oh, why does your audio sound so much better this session?
Oh, I say still muted.
[00:52:45] Speaker D: I very nicely asked ro2 turn me into a bug.
[00:52:53] Speaker B: Before we left. Yeah, okay, bro.
[00:52:56] Speaker A: Please expend the Palmore spell slot. Greta, you are a bug on.
Are you good?
[00:53:02] Speaker B: Yeah. Are you chilling on my shoulder or something?
[00:53:06] Speaker D: Maybe. Like, this sounds gross, but I want to be like a cockroach sized bug so that I don't get squished, but so that I can just fit in your pocket.
[00:53:18] Speaker B: Love it.
[00:53:19] Speaker A: You have a roach in your pocket. And that roach is great.
[00:53:23] Speaker B: And I love that every now and then you like, cool crawl out to look at stuff and people think we're eat. Me and boss are even grosser than we are.
[00:53:32] Speaker A: Very, very pestival of fettles energy right now. Very.
Okay, with that chaotic mix of 25 and 1, why don't you give me an odds or evens prediction and we're gonna see whether or not you're drawing any interest from this, the sparse Kafka guard here, because. Oh, no, until the one, I wasn't gonna say anything.
[00:53:59] Speaker C: What odds?
[00:54:01] Speaker A: He is an odd guy. 14.
[00:54:03] Speaker B: Oh, shoot.
[00:54:07] Speaker A: We'Re gonna go with another odds or evens?
[00:54:10] Speaker C: Odds.
[00:54:13] Speaker A: Nat 20. Excellent.
[00:54:15] Speaker B: Oh, no.
[00:54:18] Speaker A: Okay, so as the three of you are sauntering down the shoreline, like two. Two guards.
Two.
Actually, what it is, is like guards are kind of giving you guys weird look, but letting you pass by. There are two naval officers from like, there's like five or six ships you can still see in port, which is just weird because usually there's like 20 that are all Kefkan vessels, but there's like five or six you can see. And there's like a group of like four Kefkan naval soldiers who you could just tell are different. Are they still with a half plate, but it's like lighter and thinner. It's the sort of armor where like, if you fell in the water, you could like release a couple tie points really quickly and then be like, you know, light enough to swim. And they're like the regular guards, but holy crap, are they tank. And if they are of.
Of a heritage that can tan and. Because, I mean, might not apply to a lizard folk or something, but as they walk down the street, you all gain their attention, especially the person who's doing a pirate impression.
And among them is, yeah, sure, there's a. There's an era Cochrane among them.
[00:55:29] Speaker C: Who.
[00:55:29] Speaker A: She looks really cool. She looks like a. Like a secretary bird. If you guys know what those are. That a Google. If you don't. They're sick looking. But she's very tall and lean. She's got like a piked lance. And as she walks by she makes eye contact with you boss and what do you do?
This has already gone poorly. Just tell me how so.
[00:55:45] Speaker C: I only prepared anti Kefkin state sentiments. Let me think about what he would say.
[00:55:51] Speaker A: Landon, do you have inspiration right now? Do you have inspiration right now?
[00:55:55] Speaker C: No, I don't.
[00:55:56] Speaker A: That was so funny. Take inspiration. That was so funny. I'm right in the.
[00:55:59] Speaker C: There's this thing though, but Boz is having fun as a pirate bird, but I'm trying to figure out what he would say that would cause attention. That wouldn't be.
[00:56:07] Speaker A: Well, this can very easily be a part. It can be anything you do that's a part of this. Bad.
[00:56:12] Speaker C: Oh, it doesn't even have to be necessarily to her. It can just be okay.
Does he see her? Does he like know she's there or is this something.
[00:56:21] Speaker A: They're a group of four shiny individuals passing by you while they clank as they walk.
[00:56:28] Speaker C: Is that confident that he's doing a good impression?
[00:56:31] Speaker A: No, no. Landon, you're doing an awful impression. Boss, you're nailing this right now. You're nailing what would pirate boss and thank you for going along with this stupid gag.
[00:56:49] Speaker C: It would. He would say something like, like Ahoy or something dumb like that at like a different group of people somewhere else.
[00:57:00] Speaker A: Inspiration. Rightly, that was the right call.
So as you're walking by and you say ahoy like they were. They like gave you guys a look and kept walking. And then as you do that Secretary Burda Cochrane lady just goes.
She like stops and turns her out and looks all the way around at you.
[00:57:18] Speaker C: Boss isn't even looking at her anymore.
[00:57:20] Speaker A: They're right. You guys have already walked by and the other soldiers like talk for a little bit and then she turns and says something to another one and as they say, say for a moment one of them like, like a.
A lizard folk fellow among them. A very degree group of soldiers walking by. Lizard folk are fairly uncommon in this hemisphere. He whistles really hard into his feet. Fingers. And then you watch much further down the dock a. A Kefkan officer.
Like, like a petty officer. Not a lieutenant or anything. And not a captain. A captain. I've expanded the ranks slightly since then because my Old way didn't make a ton of sense. But there's like, like a petty officer who's just someone who's like in charge of local soldiers. Um turns around and looks um and I on an odds or evens you got a nat20 so it can't go well.
The person who turns around is he's this short, this short half orc fellow.
He's, he's very broad and muscular but also like heavy set at the same time like very lineman energy and he's thick and small and, and I mean I say short he's like my height but the thing that makes him look short is that like 5 7. Is that like his height to weight ratio? He's so broad. I mean he looks like he could play a lineman on a college team tomorrow if a bit short for it.
And he's like bursting at the seams of his half plate armor and he has, he has two maces hanging from his side to heavy iron maces and he has these thick lower jowls and two very large tusks that have like iron Kefkin iron bolts studded in the tusks. And his eyes are a little small on his head. His nose very slightly upturned and the rims of his eyes have a little red in it.
And as they whistle at him he just turns with this immediately aggressive energy. And as he looks like you guys notice him especially the 220 passive perceptions.
[00:59:30] Speaker B: Want to make it clear that we're like, I'm like like walking with a purpose. Absolutely. We are bouncing like jauntly and as.
[00:59:38] Speaker A: He does he looks back at those soldiers and all those soldiers just gesture at you guys just like weird. And then he just, he just goes and just walks, just stomps over to you all and he goes who do you think you are and what you doing in my port?
He steps right into Yalls path directly in front of you.
[01:00:01] Speaker B: Oh I, I don't know.
[01:00:04] Speaker A: I'm sorry. Give me one second. My throat's going out for some reason. Let me get a cop.
[01:00:10] Speaker B: I look at bird bars.
[01:00:13] Speaker C: I'm the bird.
[01:00:14] Speaker B: You're the person. I, I, me and my mates are just, I just out on a.
[01:00:21] Speaker C: Now keep in mind Zachary, her accent and her, her Persona is spotless. This man has not heard me speak yet.
He has not heard me speak at all.
[01:00:32] Speaker B: Me, me and my mate here, we're just out for, for a stroll on the docks today. We thought we'd do some shopping while we're, while we're here.
[01:00:43] Speaker A: He looks at he looks at Boz, looks back to you.
[01:00:48] Speaker B: Can I. Can I help?
[01:00:49] Speaker A: What are your name?
[01:00:50] Speaker B: What was my name?
[01:00:52] Speaker A: What are your names?
[01:00:54] Speaker B: My name is Corinne.
My name is Corinne.
Oh my gosh.
[01:01:03] Speaker A: I love it.
[01:01:04] Speaker B: Oh my gosh.
And this is my. This is my. My buddy.
My buddy Bob.
[01:01:15] Speaker A: Let's look at you.
[01:01:15] Speaker B: Bobbin. Bobbins. Sorry, that's his full name.
Bobbin.
[01:01:20] Speaker A: Ro. Give me a deception check. At disadvantage only for the delivery and for Bobbin and Corinne.
[01:01:29] Speaker B: Corrine.
[01:01:30] Speaker A: Corinne. Okay. Corinne.
[01:01:32] Speaker C: Those are good names though.
[01:01:33] Speaker A: No, Corinne for sure. But Bob. Bob, Bob Bobbin.
[01:01:36] Speaker B: I have to do it. Disadvantage. Yeah, mean.
Okay.
[01:01:42] Speaker A: Also deception. Oh, with a plus three to decks. Give me a stealth check.
[01:01:48] Speaker B: Deception. That's gonna be a 22 at disadvantage because I gotta use a plus three.
[01:01:57] Speaker A: Your first roll of the session is.
[01:01:59] Speaker D: Stay in the pocket.
[01:02:03] Speaker A: Well, you're polymorphed, so you also have the brain of a roach. So why don't you give me that.
[01:02:08] Speaker C: Wait.
[01:02:08] Speaker A: Two have a minus five to intelligence right now. Okay.
[01:02:12] Speaker D: Uhhuh.
[01:02:13] Speaker A: Let me just check something really quick. Awesome. I'm gonna use my.
[01:02:18] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:02:20] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:02:21] Speaker B: That'll be an 11.
Okay.
[01:02:26] Speaker A: The roach. Greta Retta. Briefly gro. Gro. Briefly darts out of the pocket, but does it. Where he does not notice.
And he just goes.
All right, all right.
You all look a little less than savory.
I don't tolerate the unsavory in my port. What's your business here? Tell me immediately.
[01:02:55] Speaker B: Oh, I'm sorry. We don't look savory. I. I didn't know if we were. They were not up to snuff you.
[01:03:02] Speaker A: You're not. What are you doing here?
[01:03:04] Speaker B: We're just shopping today. We're just shopping today.
[01:03:10] Speaker A: What about you, Bobbin? What's your business?
[01:03:14] Speaker B: He's with me. He's my friend.
[01:03:16] Speaker A: I.
[01:03:17] Speaker C: Okay, boss can bars in the intensity of the situation. Reach deep into himself and try to do a. A good try to like everything in.
[01:03:26] Speaker A: I'm not going to make that one from earlier. Just finish fail and fail and fail and fail and fail. You can.
You can try and reap all if you want. You can also just pick it. I mean this guy hasn't heard you talk yet. You can pick a different voice if you want. I'm not gonna make that failure continue to penalize you.
[01:03:44] Speaker C: All right, so Boz looks. Closes his little bird eyes one at a time and reaches deep into himself and what kind of performance check you said?
[01:03:55] Speaker A: No, no. He's just asked you what you're doing.
[01:03:57] Speaker B: I haven't asked for a check, what you're doing today.
[01:03:59] Speaker C: I know, but I have to talk. I'm doing a performance. I. I'm trying to use a voice.
[01:04:03] Speaker A: Okay, you're picking another voice. All right, well, do. Let me. Give me the voice first, and let's talk about the chat.
[01:04:10] Speaker B: Oh, no.
[01:04:11] Speaker A: What?
[01:04:12] Speaker B: Why.
[01:04:12] Speaker C: Why is my pirate voice inherently bad?
[01:04:16] Speaker A: I don't know. Maybe it's good this time.
[01:04:19] Speaker C: Say. I say.
I speak with a very.
A very sultry, low bird voice.
And I say, mouth. Looking for rum today, sir.
[01:04:31] Speaker A: For the ship.
Okay. There's no disadvantage in that. Persuasion check. Well, it's a deception check, but, yeah, there's no. There's no disadvantage on that. That was great.
[01:04:43] Speaker C: All right, here. I. I rolled 19 plus one, plus one.
[01:04:52] Speaker B: 30. 20.
[01:04:53] Speaker C: Boz's sultry, deception voice.
I'm looking for rum, sir.
[01:05:00] Speaker A: Rum wheel.
[01:05:01] Speaker B: Yeah, you got. You got a nice bar in town, you know.
[01:05:07] Speaker A: He like, stares at you all for a second. You got a little weapons.
[01:05:14] Speaker C: I don't trust you right here, but, yeah, I'm not.
It's a little small for you, but if you. If you'd like it, I'd be happy to relinquish it.
I'm not attached.
[01:05:31] Speaker A: I don't want to. He gets, like, too close to you guys.
I don't want to see you in my pool again.
Do your business.
Get out.
[01:05:46] Speaker C: Okay.
[01:05:46] Speaker B: Aye, aye. Yeah.
[01:05:48] Speaker C: All right. And I leave. I start. I leave. I let. I let Ro say whatever she wants to say. And I start walking a different direction.
[01:05:56] Speaker A: He just stomps away looking, muttering terrible things and an unpleasant individual.
[01:06:04] Speaker C: I whisper to Row when she gets back. I was like, do Kevin like bribes. We could just, like, try to.
I mean, half of them are gone. Like, his boss is probably on another planet.
[01:06:14] Speaker B: I don't think it'd be.
[01:06:15] Speaker C: We could just pass the platinum.
[01:06:17] Speaker A: Give me an insight check.
[01:06:18] Speaker C: I'm pretty sure that's more money than he'd seen the rest of his life, Bob.
[01:06:21] Speaker B: And he's going to think someone's way off if we stop pulling out platinum.
[01:06:25] Speaker C: But he's not here in that.
[01:06:27] Speaker B: Right grouch. And she pats the roach, wherever it is.
[01:06:31] Speaker C: Unfortunately, I pulled another NAT one.
[01:06:38] Speaker A: Awesome.
Bon.
[01:06:40] Speaker C: I'm not using digital dice anymore, strangely.
[01:06:42] Speaker A: Scam.
[01:06:42] Speaker C: It's a scam.
[01:06:43] Speaker A: Landon, I don't know how many times we've had to tell you to quit using digital dice. It's physical. Always. I don't know, Baz, with your incredibly high natural and social insight, your lay mastery of money at this point and your numerous Kefkin interactions would a Kefkin guard to react to a bribe? You have no idea.
[01:07:07] Speaker B: Now.
[01:07:10] Speaker A: I'm gonna try it.
[01:07:11] Speaker C: I'm try it.
[01:07:11] Speaker A: The next time I meet, I'm gonna.
[01:07:14] Speaker C: Give him a platinum.
And if it's an officer, I'm giving him two.
[01:07:19] Speaker B: But if you.
[01:07:19] Speaker A: What are you doing here?
$3,000.
[01:07:27] Speaker C: Now, what was your question, young sir?
[01:07:34] Speaker B: What if we gave them information on someone they wanted, but it was false information?
They'd give us money.
[01:07:44] Speaker C: What if we pretend to bring them all our heads?
How good are you with paper mache?
[01:07:53] Speaker D: Imagine how many.
[01:07:55] Speaker A: We're at a fascinating. We're at a fascinating point in the life cycle of this campaign where for a long time, episode two was a whole different ball game. Then it kind of switched to where it was episode one. Then it evened out to neither, and now we're all the way back to the beginning, where episode two is a whole different ballgame. Why?
[01:08:11] Speaker B: How good are you at paper mache? I'm writing that down.
[01:08:15] Speaker A: That's incredible, man. I love D and D.
Okay, five or six minutes later, the party arrives at the massive tree growing between buildings. Immense tree at the edge of town. It's so non sequitur and out of place. And you all have arrived at that tree. You're at that part of town. There's a number of people at the dock. Kanache just said that adverts often in the area.
[01:08:41] Speaker C: So.
[01:08:44] Speaker A: I would start by asking for an odds or evens.
[01:08:48] Speaker C: Well, I speak thieves can't, so.
[01:08:50] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:08:51] Speaker C: I don't speak thieves can't. Actually.
[01:08:54] Speaker A: That's how much I trust you.
Odds or evens? Oh, odds.
Nice. 17.
Okay, give me an investigation check. Boss.
[01:09:06] Speaker C: Oz does an investigation.
[01:09:06] Speaker B: Can I help? Can I help?
[01:09:08] Speaker A: I don't.
[01:09:10] Speaker C: You can. That's a. That's advantage, right, Zach? That's advantage. Investigation advantage.
[01:09:14] Speaker B: Okay, Greta, also.
[01:09:18] Speaker C: 14'S my lot high, so I got a 15 plus, plus, plus guidance plus guidance plus guidance. I guide myself. I guide myself. And that is a two. That is 17.
[01:09:31] Speaker A: Okay, 17. Nice.
Abby, if you can verify that it's on both spell lists, I'm fine with that.
[01:09:38] Speaker C: Me too.
[01:09:40] Speaker D: Okay.
[01:09:40] Speaker B: What are y' all talking about?
[01:09:42] Speaker A: Nobody knows. Jackie is just provocative. It gets the crowd going. What Boz, you guys like, kind of you meander through the area for a little bit, and eventually you don't see him anywhere on the beach, anywhere on this street but wall walking by after a little bit, kind of you spy like there's an individual with Some feathers poking out of like a large hooded cloak who kind of keeps. Not like darting, but like stepping in and out and looking around the corner of a. Of a building like five or six buildings down.
You get a feeling that might be advert.
We go to him, sits there in silence.
[01:10:25] Speaker C: I go, I go.
[01:10:28] Speaker B: Yeah, we, we.
[01:10:31] Speaker A: Sorry, do you shout his name from ways down?
You guys are on an energy.
Okay, well, so you guys get over to the corner of that door. Oh, you know, actually, I think I'm gonna go with this one. So you guys get to the corner of the building and he's at the edge of. It's like.
It's like a.
He's in like a. A tight. It's.
[01:11:11] Speaker C: I didn't mean to do that. I don't know what I just did.
I'm sorry.
[01:11:15] Speaker A: I don't know how.
[01:11:16] Speaker C: I'm sorry.
[01:11:23] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:11:24] Speaker D: What happened?
[01:11:26] Speaker A: Whack.
All right. Okay.
Advert is in a tight alleyway. It's not even like a real 10 foot across alleyway. It's like maybe five feet. It's just like, like space unfilled, largely filled with like storage boxes and barrels. And it's between like a. Like a. Like a salt shed. So like a place where meats are salted and stored before being distributed to.
To butchers around town.
And then across that lane is a very large storehouse that people are like taking goods in and out of Sailors. It's kind of like you guys are only.
You guys are maybe only 6, 800ft away from like the easternmost edge of the caldera. So really toward the edge of southeastern edge of town at the edge of the shore. And there's just this. This individual in the hooded cloak. And as you get closer, he kind of like looks up at you all. And he's also a parrot.
He's also a parrot. Eric Cochrane and I, I had this character before. What an incredible decision.
Landon. As you look up, he like kind of lowers the hood back a little bit. He doesn't take it all the way down. He just moves it half back. He looks like a. He looks like a squirrel. Scarlet macaw. If anyone knows what a scarlet macaw looks like.
[01:12:45] Speaker C: Of course I do. The single. The bird you're obsessed with for at least six years of your life, maybe ten.
[01:12:50] Speaker A: I do love Scarlett McCaws. He's a Scarlet McCaw looking Eric Cochran. And he just has a cloak that he kind of moves to the side a little. He like kind of pulls tightly around himself and he just looks up at you and says, oh, are you.
I'm Bob.
[01:13:09] Speaker C: She's silly.
[01:13:13] Speaker B: I'm Corinne.
[01:13:15] Speaker A: Good to meet you, Corinne.
[01:13:17] Speaker B: You too.
[01:13:17] Speaker A: What do you want? Both you and then boss as you sit there. What the heck? This guy sounds like that. What's the deal? This guy sounds weird. What the. What the heck?
[01:13:29] Speaker C: Yeah, it's them that's the problem, not us.
He just says that. He just.
Anyways, we have looking to buy things.
[01:13:42] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:13:44] Speaker A: What sort of things? I don't sell anything.
[01:13:47] Speaker B: Components and stuff.
[01:13:50] Speaker C: Orcs.
[01:13:53] Speaker B: Maybe some chalks, I don't know.
[01:13:55] Speaker C: Nope, I don't need chalk.
[01:13:56] Speaker B: Well, I might need.
[01:13:57] Speaker A: Give me. Give me a persuasion check at advantage.
[01:14:02] Speaker B: Because both of us basically just gave.
[01:14:05] Speaker A: Me a persuasion check.
[01:14:07] Speaker C: I got a 21.
[01:14:09] Speaker A: Excellent. There are times when just because two people talked, it doesn't mean that someone got.
[01:14:14] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:14:19] Speaker A: The blue macaw is also very sick. Abby, for sure.
I love them both. I have a hard time choosing between macaws.
[01:14:26] Speaker B: I adore them all. Yeah.
[01:14:27] Speaker C: One day there'll be a pink maa.
[01:14:29] Speaker A: It's like a flamingo. I want to know.
[01:14:31] Speaker D: Hey, no purple.
[01:14:32] Speaker A: No purple.
[01:14:33] Speaker D: I think it's pretty close to purple. We cannot have a purple macaw. You guys learned this?
[01:14:40] Speaker A: What?
No purple.
Okay.
Are you talking about a highest macaw? What's happening right now? No, I'm too easily distracted.
[01:14:52] Speaker B: Okay. No purple.
[01:14:57] Speaker C: I don't know what that means.
[01:14:59] Speaker A: Well, so advert continues and he says. He goes, all right, what are you looking for? And he opens his cloak to either side and it's not lined. There's nothing in the lining of his cloak. He's wearing clothes. But over.
Over his chest like bandoliers and across his hips and then strapped to each thigh on the outsides like a. Like a. Like a thigh thong. Not like a thong like the underwear, but like. Like an implant.
Wraps around.
I knew I was gonna get a reaction.
[01:15:33] Speaker C: I hate thigh lines. So I have to wear a thigh thong.
You know how.
[01:15:38] Speaker B: What are you talking about?
[01:15:41] Speaker A: That's. I don't know, 2 he has.
He is wearing. They're not. They're not very ornate.
They're not highly adorned. But you all the skill darkness around you recognize. He's wearing like six or seven different bags of holding.
They're all kind of small. They all look like like kind of minor bags of holding. But he's got a bunch of them on it. And he goes, what are you here for?
[01:16:10] Speaker C: Do you have any tuning forks to different planes of existences?
[01:16:15] Speaker A: That's a high price item. I might.
What are you looking for?
[01:16:21] Speaker C: Any that you have, Depending on what they're priced at, I'd be interested in taking them off your hands.
[01:16:27] Speaker A: Any.
[01:16:29] Speaker C: I mean, which ones do you have?
[01:16:30] Speaker A: You've.
[01:16:31] Speaker C: I mean, if you have more than one or two, I'd be very impressed.
[01:16:35] Speaker A: Do you have coin?
[01:16:37] Speaker C: We have coin.
[01:16:43] Speaker A: He turns one of the ones that's like, kind of across his, like one of the. The breast bags and, like, shifts it to a side and opens it up. He sticks his hand and he rummages around for a second. He pulls out from his feathered clawed hand, he pulls out three forks.
One is entirely like a really bright brass.
Another is like a dull kind of looking like. Like a highly carved electrum kind of looking one and then yet still another. Is this, like, really strange? It's like a Damascus metal, but it's like, really strangely swirled. Like, the pattern is kind of confusing to look at. And he goes, I have three.
They're not the most choice items, but they're what I've got the first. He holds up the brass one he says is to the Plane of Fire.
It goes to the Sea of Brass, a dangerous place.
Not home for anyone. Simple.
He holds up the electrum one and he says, this goes to the beast Lands.
Be careful with this one. Also puts it in the other hand. And he holds up lastly, the one that is like that strange swirling Damascus metal. Not only does the pattern swirl, but as he moves it in the light, the color seems to change, like, kind of iridescently. And he says, this goes to the Far Realm.
I wouldn't recommend it for the Light of heart.
The Far Realm.
It's a strange place, aberrant creatures. It twists your mind. Be careful.
[01:18:34] Speaker C: Sorry, dm. I don't understand the word you said. Is it the Far Realm?
[01:18:37] Speaker A: The Far Realm.
[01:18:39] Speaker B: Oh, the Far. I thought you said Fire.
[01:18:41] Speaker A: Far Realm.
[01:18:43] Speaker C: So he said the Plane of Fire. The beast lands in the Far Realm.
[01:18:46] Speaker A: Yes. And apparently the Plane of Fire one can also take you to the City of Brass if you want, but yes, the Plane of Fire.
Beastlands. Far Realm.
Cool.
[01:19:00] Speaker C: How long have you had him for?
[01:19:04] Speaker A: Why do you want to know?
You're not a narc, are you?
I am no narc.
[01:19:13] Speaker B: No. No narcs here.
[01:19:16] Speaker C: Boz, can I do a perception check to see what. What kind of muscle he has around him? You know, like somebody that's like, pretending to be just in the crowd, but also just like, giving side eyes to what's going on. Looking for something, a signal of some kind, you know?
[01:19:31] Speaker A: You know what I mean? Give Me.
Oh, is this perception or insight? Give me a perception check.
[01:19:39] Speaker C: Oh, that's pretty good.
That is a 23.
[01:19:45] Speaker A: Landon's been here for half an hour of play, maybe 40 minutes, and he already has more than everyone's else. Total number of roles combined with two.
[01:19:53] Speaker D: Not ones with two.
[01:19:55] Speaker A: Yeah, well, that's the crazy part. Very unlike him.
[01:19:58] Speaker C: Call me not honest. He's dishonest.
[01:20:00] Speaker A: So as you look around the space, there is someone actually who has three fishing lines in the sand trolling the water.
But the lines are, like, weirdly placed. They're like, not near the dock. It's not good placing. And he's just like, just over the edge of the street at the sand area, and he's like, leaned back like he's waiting on the lines, but he's got his elbow over the street and his head is tilted to a side and it's this tabaxi guy. And you can notice, like, a sword hilt coming up over the edge of his shoulder. And he's just got his ear. Like one of his ears is turned. Kind of listening to you all a little bit, you get the feeling that that's probably this guy's muscle. Back up. Yeah.
A real thick looking, like, Jaguar looking like big neck, broad shoulders. Looking to backstage guy. Broad, broadhead or tabaxi.
[01:20:47] Speaker C: I look at him, I say, I, I, I'm here just because I need tuning forks.
I don't want anybody. I don't like heat. I don't want anybody. I, I'm just like you.
And I would really. I want to make this just a transaction. That's it.
[01:21:08] Speaker A: Give me a persuasion check, boss. That was. Yeah.
[01:21:12] Speaker C: Oh, that's a nice. I think I have a plus 11 for my persuasion. That's a 29.
[01:21:17] Speaker A: Holy crap.
He just nods knowingly and goes, sure, sure. I just have to check.
Which fork do you want?
[01:21:30] Speaker C: How much for one?
Are they different prices?
[01:21:35] Speaker A: Depends which. They're not all the same material.
The brass is 150, the electrum is 175, and the strange metal is 215. 150.
[01:21:58] Speaker C: 175 and 250. Zachary.
[01:22:02] Speaker A: Yep. 215. He said for the third.
[01:22:04] Speaker C: 215.
[01:22:06] Speaker A: 515.
[01:22:08] Speaker C: 525.
[01:22:10] Speaker A: Somewhere in there.
Oh, Abby's right.
Yeah. Never mind.
[01:22:20] Speaker C: They're all more good. Yes, Abby, you're 100, right? They do have to be 250 gold pieces, at least for plain shit shift I come. I love the rules.
[01:22:29] Speaker D: Sorry to make it.
[01:22:31] Speaker C: No, I love a good rule check. Rule check me every day, fam.
[01:22:37] Speaker A: Yeah, you're totally right. Sorry.
The brass one is 250. The electrum is 275. And whatever that strange metal one, it's 350. 350.
[01:22:50] Speaker C: So 250, 275. So that is 600. And then 270. That is 875. So 875 gold for all three.
[01:22:58] Speaker A: Eight. 40 is what I got.
[01:23:03] Speaker C: We'll go with that.
[01:23:03] Speaker A: 250 plus 275 plus 315 was 840.
[01:23:08] Speaker C: 315.
I. I keep hearing 50 instead of 15.
[01:23:11] Speaker A: I never learned how to read.
[01:23:15] Speaker C: Okay. I mean, that's true. Yeah, that sounds fair. I mean, boss knows that like the going price for he needs at least 250 gold for this. So the fact that some of them are a little bit more than others is not.
He just nods. He doesn't argue. He doesn't haggle. He says, okay, that sounds fine to me.
I'll take all three.
I'll take all of them.
[01:23:33] Speaker A: His like brows raise and he like turns his head so that one of the aerial Cochrane eyes is looking right at you like the way a bird does. And he looks back and he goes, I like a high roller and I can't whistle, but could you let out a little whistle, Jackie?
And as he does that, the. The jaguar looking tabaxi person at the beach who's like had the ear turned, just turns back and looks at you all very kind of noticeably and then relaxes her shoulders and walks back to the beach and picks up one of the fishing rods. You get the feeling that he kind of gave her a signal like, all's well.
[01:24:07] Speaker C: Okay.
[01:24:07] Speaker A: And he hands over all three rods, but puts his other hand out for the gold first.
[01:24:13] Speaker C: I. I take out 800 and however many gold.
Three rods.
[01:24:18] Speaker A: 840.
[01:24:19] Speaker C: 840.
[01:24:25] Speaker A: Okay. And you were given all three tuning rods.
[01:24:28] Speaker C: Awesome.
If you had to say like something like some of the cooler things that you have, like some like the like exquisite, you know, maybe even niche.
[01:24:44] Speaker A: Like.
[01:24:45] Speaker C: Same vibe as tuning forks. But you know, what do you have?
[01:24:50] Speaker A: You're not messing around, Bobbin.
Well, I have some strange objects.
[01:24:57] Speaker C: Do you have a statue of the dragon?
[01:25:02] Speaker A: Please give me a D100 roll because that's highly specific.
If you get your level or lower.
[01:25:09] Speaker C: He does my level or lower. Can I use my inspiration on this if it goes poorly?
[01:25:13] Speaker A: Yes, absolutely. Okay. Absolutely.
[01:25:15] Speaker C: So my level has to be a 13 or lower.
[01:25:17] Speaker A: 13 or lower.
[01:25:18] Speaker C: That means I basically have like a 25 chance of using my 26.
[01:25:21] Speaker A: Okay, 26.
[01:25:22] Speaker C: Yeah, I got a 98.
I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna burn my inspiration. Inspiration.
If we can. Game wants me to die, I'm gonna die. But the inspiration is meant to be.
[01:25:35] Speaker A: You get one like every session too.
[01:25:36] Speaker C: Okay, let's go.
[01:25:38] Speaker A: Come on. 13.
[01:25:39] Speaker C: I rolled eight and five.
No, that's an 80, not an 80.
[01:25:48] Speaker B: Wait, what did you roll an eight. Oh, you rolled an 85.
[01:25:52] Speaker C: It's not.
[01:25:54] Speaker A: He goes, no, sorry, that's highly specific, but I have some strange unidentified objects. And then I also have some specific monster parts.
[01:26:12] Speaker B: I. One of us could identify them for you perhaps if you wanted us to.
[01:26:18] Speaker C: If you want, we can tell you what the items are.
[01:26:22] Speaker A: He like looks at you guys and you're like vagabond looking close. And he goes, you mages or something?
[01:26:31] Speaker B: Nah, just, just, you know, just your low level wizard tar folk.
[01:26:40] Speaker A: You're weird current.
You want to look at monster parts or some of the strange objects?
[01:26:46] Speaker B: Strange objects all the time.
[01:26:48] Speaker C: It's a good. It's if we're trying to hell if we don't like the objects, at least now you know what they dude. And now you can sell them to somebody else and you know.
[01:26:58] Speaker A: All right. He reaches into that same bag. He reached in before. He. He's wearing like five different bags, and he reaches into that same one from before and he pulls back out two different objects.
The first is like a, like a long kind of like bronze shard.
It's like bronze plate that's like torn and sharp into a point. It looks like, like ripped away from. It looks like, like a piece of a bronze sheet ripped away.
There's like a trim at the very bottom. It's kind of like an arrowhead shape, but not like perfectly like. Like it ripped away from a sheet in that shape. But at the bottom it's like got a clean cut that's like even kind of dull. And there's like a trim at the edge of it as if like the bottom of it was like the edge of something made and manufactured or you know, made by humanoid hands. And he hands that to you and he says, you can look at it. And then the second object he pulls out is a little. A little stone.
It's like a. Like a kind of like a smooth skipping stone. It's a light gray and it's got holes bored into it in four different directions. Not like uniform kind of randomly all the way through. And he says, I don't know what's up with the rock or that shard of metal? The rock is strange.
When you look through different holes, you see things differently.
But the metal someone gave to me, I keep it in my bags because I was told. I don't know, the credibility, but I was told that if you keep it on your person, you'll attract the silent.
[01:28:48] Speaker C: Silent.
[01:28:49] Speaker B: Whoa.
[01:28:51] Speaker A: You guys can give me a rumors check if you want.
[01:28:54] Speaker B: Oh, yay.
[01:28:55] Speaker D: Can I do that, or am I a cockroach?
[01:28:57] Speaker A: You're a cockroach. Can I have you become on a cockroach? You could participate, but you're a cockroach.
[01:29:02] Speaker B: Right now, are we, like, in an alley? Like, are there people kind of walking by? Like, what's the.
[01:29:08] Speaker A: You've stepped into an aisle, Actually, yeah. You. You guys have stepped into the mouth of an alley, and, like, he's kind of worked you behind a little boxes. You're not like 30ft down the alley, but you're in the mouth of it. Plenty of people are walking by and paying you to mind.
It's big New York vibes. Okay.
[01:29:23] Speaker B: I got an 18.
[01:29:25] Speaker C: I didn't get good. Okay, I don't remember.
Got like a five.
[01:29:31] Speaker A: Okay, boss, you're not familiar, and not the first time. You're not from this hemisphere, so you spent some time out in Yalgon at large, but you're still from the secluded culture row. Okay, you don't know a lot, but you. In many sailing towns, you spent in some of the ports in Vashtan, in some of your time in Alaban.
Yeah, you've heard of the silent. It's one of the 50, 60, you know, kind of ghost stories that get told around taverns or campfires. All around Yalomrum, the silent is said to be. Okay, you don't know a lot. You've heard two or three different versions. But the congruent factors between all the stories are that there's this thing, this person, and their head is wrapped in metal, and their body is wrapped in, like, a pale kind of cloak, and they. They can't speak, and they attack people in the night. And once.
Once you've seen the silent, the silent has to kill you.
So basically, like, the way the story goes, and you've heard different iterations, there's a lot of incongruencies. You also don't know if there's any. Like, you don't know if there's any.
If it holds any water.
Like, you don't know if it's true. Because, I mean, in your time in Yolom, you've already seen five or six of the ghost stories you've heard proved very false. You've also seen a couple proved real in time. So you don't know.
But each of the stories where they do and don't match up.
The idea is that, like, anyone who's ever seen it died.
And so other people only know about the silent for the sake of other people having told other people. Basically, like someone told someone about it, and that person died, and the person who heard about it. And so the. The rumor, the myth among sailors is that sailors have to tell each other about it so that everybody knows. Superstitious people tell each other about it and so that everybody knows. It's the idea is that, like, if you see it, you can be like, hey, I saw the silence.
So everyone else knows, and they know, like, not to be around that person and not to, you know, don't be near them at night or something or, you know, yada yada. And then if that person dies, nobody asks any questions.
[01:31:50] Speaker C: So it attracts the silence.
[01:31:53] Speaker B: No.
[01:31:53] Speaker A: Yeah. So the. Yeah, the guy said.
[01:31:56] Speaker B: Oh, it attracts it.
[01:31:58] Speaker A: The.
No, the whole clarification is it just needs to be on both a druid and a cleric spell list. That was it.
That is your. Another. Sorry, that was to a side conversation in chat.
Yeah. So the thing he said is that that piece of metal attracts the silent.
[01:32:11] Speaker B: But can I do an arcana check to see if I can tell if either one of both of these are magic items or not? Like, whether I should identify them or not? Like, if I can tell that they're magical.
[01:32:25] Speaker A: Yes, you may.
That's the sort of thing I would say no to. But you guys are so high level and have come in contact with so many magic items, and you have so much magic in you. I. Yeah, I think you actually can at this point.
[01:32:35] Speaker B: That's a 22.
[01:32:40] Speaker A: Okay. There's a line with a 22 row.
Okay. Land.
[01:32:52] Speaker C: Zach just D himself away.
[01:32:53] Speaker A: Accidentally clicked.
[01:32:56] Speaker C: It was a.
You know what? You know what?
I can't even hear it. It doesn't let me even hear the quack. You know how unsatisfactory that is.
[01:33:12] Speaker A: The. Yeah, solid ro. They both. They both strike you as magical.
[01:33:18] Speaker B: The.
[01:33:18] Speaker A: The stoneboard one looks like it.
You don't.
You don't recognize it.
Like, it doesn't strike you as. As an odd desultory quality to it? A little random, but it doesn't look like a nifty item. His items usually have a little more craft to them. It's very natural, but strange. It's in specific, the. The metal. Nothing about it strikes you as magical, except that it just feels a little magical to you. And that is the kind of vagueness I would usually not indulge in in my dming. But you are filled with deep magic. You're. I mean, you can feel magical a little at this point.
This gives you that feeling.
[01:33:55] Speaker B: Mr. Advent, is there a place we could go where I can call the advertisement where we could do a little more magic and not attract attention?
To identify these.
[01:34:12] Speaker A: Yeah, Any number of dive taverns or inns in town.
[01:34:17] Speaker B: Okay. Anywhere nearby we could. We could peek in. That wouldn't, you know, attract Kefkin eyes, you know?
[01:34:23] Speaker A: Sure.
Four blocks down, up the street, three streets over from the realm of the Caldera.
Oh, I should tell you the name. Sorry.
[01:34:38] Speaker B: Well, I mean. I mean, like with your items to try and identify them, like you come with us, like.
[01:34:45] Speaker A: No, but that's a place you could stay. Kefkins don't go.
[01:34:50] Speaker B: Okay, I'm to identify these. I'm gonna have to.
She looks at Bobbin.
I. I didn't think about that. Bobbin. I gotta pull out the.
[01:35:02] Speaker A: You know, just step further down into the alley.
[01:35:06] Speaker C: They were in a dark alley.
[01:35:07] Speaker B: Okay, you know what? I'm going to trust you. Advent.
[01:35:12] Speaker A: She.
If it's a bad idea, she pulls her.
[01:35:17] Speaker B: The. The more normal looking loot. Okay. She pulls soul Mender out from.
[01:35:23] Speaker A: Okay. And here's the. Here's the important thing. Disguise self can disguise the items you're wearing. So Karine reaches behind her and just this loot just appears and he like steps back and he's like, okay, some sort of a mage.
So Soul Mender's out and he goes, wow, that's beautiful.
[01:35:43] Speaker B: Yeah, I know. Thanks.
And she casts identify as quietly as she can on the two items.
[01:35:50] Speaker A: Okay, so Ro like steps past advert kind of behind one of the crates and does like a little. A little soft playing.
Do you identify both?
[01:35:57] Speaker B: Yeah, I marked off the spell slots.
[01:35:59] Speaker A: Okay.
So the stone.
The stone is a does.
[01:36:07] Speaker B: If since we're in this. In this alley, I. I look at the cockroach and I'm like, do you want to come out right now?
[01:36:14] Speaker C: No.
[01:36:15] Speaker B: Okay, never mind. Bobbin says no.
[01:36:18] Speaker A: Groat advert goes, oh no.
He watches Corinne's father cockroach out of her pocket, whisper to it. And then Bobbin goes, no. And then Corinne puts the car.
[01:36:31] Speaker C: I give advert a look and I say. I just say.
[01:36:34] Speaker A: He just. He just goes.
[01:36:36] Speaker C: I don't say anything. I just. I reach out And I pull out just tin gold. And I hand and say, please bear with us.
[01:36:43] Speaker A: His eyes open a little, and he goes, yeah, I never saw anything put.
[01:36:48] Speaker C: It in his hands. And I.
[01:36:49] Speaker A: And yeah, he goes. He goes, yeah, that's fine. She can do whatever she wants. And he puts it away in a pouch.
So the stone is.
It's a site of paths past.
Site of paths past.
Apparently when you look, it's highly specific. When you look through the stone, you can see, like, if you look through it, there's small holes. Anything you see on the other side, you can see the illusory illuminated footsteps past of any creature you've met before who has stepped there before.
So if you have met a creature and you think of them and you hold up the stone and look through it, if. If they have stepped somewhere, made physical contact with something.
[01:37:45] Speaker B: Oh, that's so cool. I want this.
[01:37:47] Speaker A: You can see it.
I love that.
[01:37:50] Speaker B: Love it. Okay.
[01:37:53] Speaker A: And then the metal piece is.
It's a shard of silence.
There's something not revealed by it, but that. That strip it. You gather that it is sort of divinational, and it has a conjuration energy to it. You know, it's a shard of silence. You don't know more about it than that, but you know that one, it gives off a sort of call to something that's the divination. Like it can be felt by other creatures who know of it. And that it does feel. It has an energy about it that's not from this realm.
[01:38:40] Speaker B: Okay, so with the shard, I tell.
[01:38:50] Speaker A: You get an uneasy feeling that maybe the silent is real.
[01:38:55] Speaker B: Oh, gosh. Okay.
[01:38:57] Speaker A: Or at least it holds some sort of water.
[01:38:59] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:39:00] Speaker A: Because this feels like it connects to it somehow. Wonder maybe, maybe it's all completely inaccurate, but there is. There is some reality here.
[01:39:10] Speaker B: I. I explained everything to him about the shard.
[01:39:14] Speaker A: Okay. He goes, oh, shoot.
[01:39:17] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah.
[01:39:18] Speaker C: Be careful about this one.
[01:39:20] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:39:20] Speaker A: I'm gonna put that back.
[01:39:21] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
How much?
[01:39:24] Speaker A: You want to buy it or.
[01:39:25] Speaker B: No? No, sir. Okay, thank you. Good.
[01:39:28] Speaker A: That feels like a bad idea. He opens up the bag.
[01:39:30] Speaker B: How much were you wanting to sell this little stuff stone for?
[01:39:37] Speaker A: Oh, well, now that I know what it does, what would you pay for it?
[01:39:44] Speaker B: I didn't tell him.
[01:39:46] Speaker A: Oh, I'm sorry. I thought. I thought you said you.
[01:39:48] Speaker B: I told him everything about the shard. Yeah, okay.
[01:39:50] Speaker A: Sorry, sorry, sorry. Yeah, Totally different. Totally different. He goes, what does it do?
[01:39:59] Speaker B: Well, eight.
[01:40:01] Speaker C: I don't. Bobbin doesn't know he's actually Looking at.
[01:40:04] Speaker A: He's looking at.
[01:40:05] Speaker C: Yeah, like, what is it?
[01:40:08] Speaker B: Yeah, it's. It's interesting.
You can just kind of.
[01:40:15] Speaker A: He's listening. He's listening with rapt attention.
[01:40:17] Speaker B: You can kind of just see, like, random things through it that maybe happened there. Or not.
[01:40:32] Speaker A: Give me a deception check room.
[01:40:34] Speaker C: That maybe happened or not. I really thought Rose, like, yeah, I told him everything about the shard.
Sometimes if you look. If you squint into the right hole, you can see things that maybe they happened. I don't know.
[01:40:48] Speaker B: I got.
[01:40:49] Speaker A: I think. I think Rose just describing a rock with a hole in it.
[01:40:52] Speaker B: I got an 18.
[01:40:57] Speaker A: The lie isn't excellent, but you all have been very convincing thus far. And he just goes, wow, that sucks.
What would you pay for it?
[01:41:09] Speaker B: I don't know. It's kind of cool. And I have a friend that really loves rock.
[01:41:13] Speaker A: Yeah, actually, it's really cool.
[01:41:16] Speaker B: Like, Robin.
[01:41:17] Speaker C: Like, actually, like, not.
[01:41:19] Speaker B: It's not like, a lot of stuff going on with it. So maybe, like, I'd give you, like, I don't know, 15 gold.
[01:41:31] Speaker A: Yeah, for sure. Sold. And he holds out a hand.
[01:41:33] Speaker B: There you go.
[01:41:35] Speaker A: Okay. He takes the 15 gold deducted from you. You have a sick stone of past paths. Or. Excuse me, Lens of past paths.
Site of past paths. Dang it. Site of past paths.
[01:41:50] Speaker B: Wait, Site of past paths.
[01:41:52] Speaker A: Yes. Sight of past paths.
[01:41:54] Speaker B: Okay. I put it in my inventory and I'll tell them about it later.
[01:42:00] Speaker A: Okay.
I. He continues.
[01:42:03] Speaker C: Yes.
[01:42:04] Speaker A: And he just says, hold on one second. I mean, to write down. Down sight of past pads. He just says, are you still looking for some men without Kevin, or do you not care?
[01:42:27] Speaker C: Yeah, we do. No, we do need an in without Kevin, because Bobman.
What?
[01:42:38] Speaker A: The shade is at the southeast town. Ask people nearby. Rates are cheap. Perfect.
Don't go there. You might get mugged.
[01:42:47] Speaker B: Oh, we'll mug them, right? I'm just kidding.
[01:42:51] Speaker C: I mean, honestly, if you think about it. Nope. Nobody who lives a happy life wants to mug people. They're doing it because they're trying to survive, you know, mystery.
[01:43:00] Speaker A: So that's profound and true.
[01:43:04] Speaker B: Anyway, DM does.
[01:43:07] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:43:07] Speaker B: Does the site thing.
Is it attunement required?
[01:43:11] Speaker A: It is not just an object.
[01:43:15] Speaker C: I. I asked. All right, this is a little bit weird question.
Do you use all your bags or, like, if would you sell one for the right price?
[01:43:23] Speaker B: Oh, that's good question.
[01:43:25] Speaker A: Gives you a curious look. They're important to my business.
[01:43:29] Speaker C: I know.
[01:43:30] Speaker B: Also.
[01:43:31] Speaker C: Sorry, my bad. The adhd.
[01:43:34] Speaker A: Hold on. I need to answer something really quick.
Is from both lists.
Same answer as earlier. Abby, I don't have to tell you once I didn't understand what you said.
Okay, so he continues and he says, what were you asking me? Oh, you asked him the thing about the bags I got thrown off. He says, they're important to me, but for the right price, I'd sell literally anything you get.
[01:44:15] Speaker B: Then.
[01:44:17] Speaker A: That looks at you.
[01:44:18] Speaker C: I look at.
[01:44:19] Speaker A: That's a nart question.
[01:44:20] Speaker B: No, like, if we wanted to buy some, but not take yours away from your business.
[01:44:24] Speaker A: Oh, I don't think I want to tell you where I get mine. Okay, so you want to buy them.
[01:44:28] Speaker C: That's okay. We don't hear any personal identifying information from you. We appreciate your candor, Robin.
[01:44:34] Speaker A: I think I want to talk to you. Okay, fine.
[01:44:36] Speaker B: I just identified your items, but, you know.
[01:44:39] Speaker C: Oh, yeah.
[01:44:39] Speaker A: I didn't ask you to do that.
[01:44:40] Speaker C: I'm sorry. Thank you.
[01:44:43] Speaker A: Yeah. What do you want for the bag?
[01:44:44] Speaker C: I don't know. I want to give you a fair price for it. You've been really nice to us, and I appreciate how nice you've been. There's a lot of merchants out. You're better than those stuck up guys back there. I'll tell you right now, like, everybody who has a shop over there is just.
[01:44:57] Speaker A: He looks around the corner at just.
[01:44:59] Speaker C: You know, like, hope is like the man. Not like the beach, you know, like, there's some places there.
[01:45:04] Speaker A: Anyway, what do you want for the bag?
[01:45:06] Speaker C: 200 gold pieces.
[01:45:09] Speaker A: Oh, no, absolutely not.
[01:45:11] Speaker C: I don't know. I've never bought a bag before.
[01:45:13] Speaker B: Yeah, what. What would you sell it for?
[01:45:16] Speaker A: They're important to me.
Give me a persuasion check. Okay.
[01:45:22] Speaker B: At advantage. Because he loves Rose so much.
[01:45:25] Speaker A: Oh, absolutely not. After your question about where do you get them?
[01:45:28] Speaker C: Yeah, good luck getting a good price. I got a 13.
[01:45:33] Speaker A: You boz. You get that your insight's very high. Your passive insight's very high. You get the feeling that not only is what he's saying the truth about, you know, like, these are valuable items and they're important to his business and all that. You also get the feeling that, like, this is an individual who's a little possessive, and these are, like, personally valuable. Like, you get the feeling he's having trouble with the idea of parting with one. And he just. He continues and he says, I'd give you one for a third thousand.
[01:46:01] Speaker C: Yeah, I mean, I get. I get it. That's. You know, they're. They're important, they're integral, and I respect that. I don't think I can Do a thousand but okay.
[01:46:12] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:46:13] Speaker C: Okay. I think I'm good. Do you guys need anything else? Are we all.
I say guys that I don't even realize that I say guys.
[01:46:21] Speaker B: What's up, Groach?
[01:46:25] Speaker A: He goes, you gave me the gold.
[01:46:29] Speaker C: Yes. We're all good. We'll be on our way. Nice to meet you.
[01:46:33] Speaker A: Okay. What was my name?
[01:46:35] Speaker B: I don't remember.
[01:46:37] Speaker A: Good.
And he just turns back down the alley.
[01:46:43] Speaker C: And then I go, okay.
[01:46:45] Speaker A: And the three of you all walk away from advert.
[01:46:47] Speaker C: And then I banish him to the city of brass.
[01:46:53] Speaker A: Oh no.
[01:46:54] Speaker C: My body should have given me the bag.
Bye. Bye.
[01:47:02] Speaker B: I hold up the stone through my eyes.
[01:47:06] Speaker C: Your biscuit was there.
[01:47:07] Speaker B: Yeah. And I think a biscuit.
[01:47:10] Speaker A: Okay, where are you pointing it?
[01:47:13] Speaker B: Like near towards the beach.
Like where a lot of those Kefkins were earlier.
[01:47:19] Speaker A: Okay. On the beach there's nothing. But as you point it toward the street. Yeah. There's like there, there are five or six different step trail paths down the front of the shoreline. I mean, you know, the street.
[01:47:31] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:47:32] Speaker C: This thing is gonna be so useful at digging up dirt on people we don't like. All I have to do is like, you know, I'm pretty sure in a random. I mean, maybe Auburn's different, but I bet you that there are places where you can go see ladies of the night. And all we have to do is hold up the stone and just think of every single person that we know and say, haha, I know you're doing bad stuff.
[01:47:57] Speaker A: I mean, yes, that exists in y' all, but I just try not to talk about it.
[01:48:01] Speaker C: Yes. Okay, maybe, yeah, maybe we should open up that door.
[01:48:04] Speaker B: I think of Lash.
[01:48:05] Speaker A: Please don't.
[01:48:06] Speaker B: I think of Lashla.
[01:48:09] Speaker A: Okay. Do you think of Lashla and you look at the path on the street. You don't, you don't get anything.
[01:48:13] Speaker B: I think a Dolgoth, she's missing out.
[01:48:15] Speaker C: This is gonna be, this is gonna be Jackie.
[01:48:17] Speaker A: But I mean, it's huge port city.
[01:48:19] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:48:19] Speaker A: I mean, you know, there's a couple main highway streets in this. You might be able to see them somewhere. But you don't, you don't see anything for Dolgo.
[01:48:24] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:48:24] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:48:26] Speaker B: I think it's a king.
[01:48:27] Speaker C: Think of the poop bucket, woman. No, can you give it to me? I want to think of the poop bucket.
[01:48:30] Speaker B: Hold on. You don't know about it yet? I haven't told you about it yet.
[01:48:34] Speaker A: Okay, well, you don't say anything for the king of telephone.
[01:48:39] Speaker B: I, I, as we get far enough Distance.
[01:48:43] Speaker A: So, Bobin, you're just watching Queen go.
[01:48:46] Speaker C: I want to take the spyglass out and I want to do the same thing.
[01:48:49] Speaker B: When we get enough distance away from Advert, I tell. I tell Bobbin and Roach Groach about it.
[01:48:58] Speaker A: Yeah, it is explained to you all.
[01:49:02] Speaker B: So you think that he was gonna. I mean, I gave him identify services for free.
[01:49:10] Speaker C: That is true. You know what? That is a good point. He probably would have had to pay a mage 100 gold to get that done, so good job. That was actually nice. Yeah, you're right. You're right.
[01:49:19] Speaker B: Let's go back.
[01:49:21] Speaker C: I want to go forward.
[01:49:23] Speaker B: Okay. Do we need to go to Tesha's?
[01:49:26] Speaker C: Well, I wish. We got kicked out of the map of the place. We got to find a new place to go to.
[01:49:31] Speaker B: Tesha.
[01:49:34] Speaker D: I would like to. Can I see Tesha's tree?
[01:49:38] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:49:39] Speaker A: You guys have gone scurry, like, eight buildings down from it.
[01:49:42] Speaker D: Yeah, I'm gonna like, like, come out of rose pocket and, like, sit on the.
On the. I'm a cute bug.
[01:49:55] Speaker B: It is just the size you specified, Roach.
[01:49:58] Speaker D: Okay.
I come out and I sit on her shoulder and I do a little like.
Like a little like the dance that jumping spiders do.
[01:50:10] Speaker A: There's like, a person walking by goes.
[01:50:14] Speaker B: I pat Groach's head.
[01:50:17] Speaker D: Then I scrape down.
I follow that Grouch torso and down her leg, and I scurry towards the tree.
[01:50:25] Speaker A: I follow that Groach Dexterity saving throw.
[01:50:28] Speaker D: Groto with a three. I have a plus three ready.
[01:50:34] Speaker A: And I will say you're proficient in this. So plus four.
[01:50:36] Speaker C: This is so funny because if she.
[01:50:38] Speaker A: Gets anything erosion, she's just gonna appear as Greta.
[01:50:41] Speaker C: She's just gonna appear as Greta in the street in the middle of the calf street where the naval officer just were. Yep.
[01:50:46] Speaker B: Go ahead and throw a blanket over her.
[01:50:49] Speaker D: Plus four.
[01:50:51] Speaker C: Yes.
[01:50:52] Speaker D: I got an eight.
[01:51:01] Speaker C: This just took a huge turn.
[01:51:03] Speaker B: Have to teleport the crap out of here, folks.
[01:51:07] Speaker C: We can never come back here ever.
[01:51:10] Speaker A: Okay, well, hold on.
[01:51:11] Speaker C: We just.
[01:51:11] Speaker A: Just.
Now. Now things happen.
Groach runs down your leg and just away from you down the street toward the building.
It is a busy thoroughfare. And Corinne Row, you're like, oh. And you, like, start walking after her. And she, like, narrowly, like, like in between feet. And she's fine, and she's in no one's path.
And then she passes by a building where the door very suddenly opens. A guy takes a step out and sees it, goes, oh. And just lifts up a boot and just.
Just squishes and there is a crunch and a squish until the moment, the next moment, that guy's leg lifts up very quickly and he's destabilized and falls over onto his side. This middle aged butcher, or just a middle aged guy walking out of the shop with the, with the fresh meats, just falls over and he's like, what? And he, he looks down in the street and there's Greta on all, all fours, laying down on her stomach in the street with like a boot mark on the back of her cloak. And she's just there and turns around and I mean, it's Home Cove. A lot of stuff happens here, but that was pretty noticeable. So like 20 people on the street nearby just stomp and turn and look.
Abby, why don't we start with an odds or evens?
Evens if there's 15. No.
So Greta just appears there on the street and like everybody just stops and looks and stairs. There's not any Kevin presence is low. There are no Kafka guards next to you. But like a bunch of people just stop and stay. There's just like. I mean, and there's like more people moving by all around them, not seeing or caring. But there's like 20 people who all stop and stare just in silence. People start muttering back and forth. And you watch as four or five people get like kind of stunned expressions and exchanged glances. Oh, six to seven people just recognized you. And okay, there just changed looks. And in a second or two you start to hear mutterings that are like, that's Greta, the fun guys. That's Greta small. That's the fun guys. And people are just kind of looking around you. What.
[01:53:29] Speaker B: How fast are we to.
[01:53:31] Speaker C: I do not walk directly over.
[01:53:33] Speaker A: Hold on, hold on, hold on. One thing at a time. Time. One thing at a time. Corinne, you're. I mean, you're like six or seven steps away. You're on the edge of this group of people. I mean, she's a roach. She's very fast, but it's not like she can like, like just move 30ft away from you instantly. She's quick, but her top speed isn't that much more than yours. So you know, you're like, you're nearby, just you're standing on the rim of people as well, also looking surprised. Greta, you're there on your hands and feet in the street somewhere. You. But you keep returning to. Strangely, it's part of who you are.
[01:54:06] Speaker B: I look at Bobbin and I go, do I need to get us out of here right now?
[01:54:10] Speaker A: Bobbin, are you nearby?
[01:54:12] Speaker C: I was behind Ro.
[01:54:15] Speaker A: Yeah. By how much?
[01:54:16] Speaker C: Probably like 5, 10ft.
[01:54:18] Speaker A: Okay, so. But it's speaking distance, not whisper distance.
[01:54:22] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:54:23] Speaker C: I would say less than five feet. Honest. There's no way I'd be 10ft away from him.
[01:54:26] Speaker B: I see.
[01:54:27] Speaker C: I probably, like, two, three feet away.
[01:54:28] Speaker B: I step towards Bobbin, and I say, do I need to get us out of here really quickly?
[01:54:34] Speaker A: People are muttering, Greta, another odds or evens?
[01:54:38] Speaker D: Evens.
[01:54:41] Speaker A: Eight. Okay. Because it's. It's. It's just stunned expressions and many, many people, four or five from. The people from that group just move on. They don't recognize. They don't care. It's a big city.
But I. Six or seven more people from the surrounding traffic gather. You're drawing a crowd, and now, like, people are speaking to each other and going.
And someone says out loud, all right, you're the fun guys. And like. Like, a small crowd is gathering, and people are talking. The guy look at one of my forks.
[01:55:11] Speaker C: I look at one of my forks.
[01:55:14] Speaker B: No, let me.
[01:55:15] Speaker C: I look at one of my forks.
[01:55:17] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:55:17] Speaker B: I go to grab. Grab Greta.
[01:55:19] Speaker A: Hey, hey, hey. One thing gets to happen at a time. He gets his own will. Boss, which fork do you pull out and look at?
[01:55:26] Speaker C: Did I know what the Farlands were when he said it?
[01:55:30] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean, he. He said. He said a realm of alien creatures and horrible creatures that twists your mind and changes your flesh or something.
[01:55:38] Speaker C: Okay, so that's the. That's the. You know, the.
[01:55:42] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. Okay.
[01:55:42] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Tentacle land.
Not good. You only get well there if you have tentacles and believe in the master plan.
Okay, Boz, we'll come back to that.
[01:55:56] Speaker A: Boz, you pulled out one of your forks, and you're looking at it, bro.
[01:55:58] Speaker C: I'm not concerned. No, no, I'm Boss. Here's what boss is doing. Boz is not concerned about the people that are around us. There are no Kefkins here. Boz takes a second. He's not panicking. He turns around, and he kind of scans to see. All right, is anybody here? Everybody here right now is kind of in stunned, Kind of like, whoa, this is.
[01:56:15] Speaker A: Give me a perception check pause.
[01:56:16] Speaker C: Is anybody. Like, I need to alert the authorities right now, bro.
[01:56:19] Speaker A: What are you doing?
[01:56:20] Speaker B: At this moment, I go to grab 28 Greta, and I. And I help her up, and I'm like, oh, I'm so sorry, miss. Are you okay? And I'm, like, grabbing her and, like, covering her hood, like, grabbing her, and I have walked over.
[01:56:33] Speaker A: Brushes her head over the hood don't wear, which is your clarification. She doesn't have that and just says, are you. Are you okay, miss? I'm so sorry. Now everyone's stunned and looking at her because they've identified. Holy crap, that's Greta Smallstar of the Fun Guys. And everyone's looking at the random person who's walked up and said, I'm so sorry, miss, which is interesting because somebody stepped on a cockroach, and that cockroach turned into one of the most wanted people in the world. Nobody knows who she is with the roach.
[01:56:56] Speaker B: So everybody just saw an old lady fall over is what I saw.
[01:56:59] Speaker A: Well, you saw a person step on a cockroach, and that cockroach turned into an old lady, but absolutely, you run up and lift up that person, say, are you so sorry, miss? And, like, two or three people from the crowd kind of, like, step in and, like, are starting to say something. The crowd's getting a little bigger. It's maybe, like, 30 people now. Boz, you look around with your 28, you're not seeing anyone yet who's, like, trying to grab anyone or tell anything. A crowd is just building now about a block down, a couple Kefkan guards kind of, like, look curious and see a crowd building, and they, like, start, like, walking over. There's no quick pace.
It's gonna be a bit before they're.
[01:57:33] Speaker B: There, but they're walking.
[01:57:34] Speaker A: Somebody steps forward from the crowd and goes, you're Greta, right?
[01:57:40] Speaker D: I. I look at. I look at Corinne, and I say, I, like, hunch over a little bit, and I, like, like, draw my cloaks in like an old lady would, and I, like, hunch my back a little bit, and I go, thank you, mama.
[01:57:59] Speaker A: Very importantly, very importantly, gold streaks in her hair. Jade tattoo or emerald tattoo going down her jawline. Simplify you in gold on her chest.
[01:58:08] Speaker D: I wear that in my cloak.
[01:58:10] Speaker A: I wear that inside. Literal strips of ancient text falling down the sides of her robe. The person reaches out an arm, puts it, grabs your cloak, pulls your cloak, and says, you, Greta small star.
[01:58:24] Speaker D: What.
[01:58:24] Speaker A: Did you do to the captains? Why are they leaving? I look at, how are you gonna save us?
[01:58:28] Speaker D: I look at this person, and I, I. I'm looking at Ro, right, or Corinne, and I'm like, I don't know what came over me. And then I turn my head to this person, and I look them in the eyes, and I hold up. I put a finger to my nose. That means be quiet, right? Like the old person way to say.
[01:58:47] Speaker B: I. I wonder why.
[01:58:50] Speaker A: Hey, hey, hey, Abby, do your thing.
[01:58:53] Speaker C: That's an.
[01:58:53] Speaker D: That's an old person way to say, like, totally. I put a finger to my lips, okay. And I just turn back to Ro and I say.
[01:59:08] Speaker A: Do you know what happened?
[01:59:11] Speaker B: I.
[01:59:11] Speaker A: And at that moment, that person gets.
[01:59:13] Speaker B: Excited and goes, them.
[01:59:15] Speaker A: I knew it. It's Greta. And, like, the. The grad, like, starts talking and murmuring, and, like, people are kind of, like, closing and not, like, rushing you like a horror movie, but people are stepping in and getting closer. And now there's, like. There's, like, consistent speech going, like, what are you here for? The fun guys are here. What are you doing? Who are you? And that guy who fell over is going, oh, I didn't mean it. Please don't slay me. I'm sorry.
[01:59:35] Speaker B: Is the door that she was fell right in front of, is it open or closed?
[01:59:40] Speaker A: Yeah, it's propped open. And two or three people from outside are, like, gathered at the door and looking out on the street.
[01:59:45] Speaker B: What is this store?
[01:59:47] Speaker A: It's a butcher shop.
[01:59:48] Speaker B: I go. It's a butcher shop. I go in with. With Greta. I usher Greta in and go in and try to close the door.
[01:59:56] Speaker A: Absolutely. So you. You grab Greta and, like, push toward the door and huddle in. People step out of your path. Boss, what are you doing?
[02:00:02] Speaker C: The Kefkin guards are probably inside the bakery. That's what they do. They go.
[02:00:06] Speaker A: They push their way in the butcher shop. The Kefkin guards are maybe 4 or 500ft away. It's gonna take them a second. They're mosy.
Boss, what are you doing?
[02:00:15] Speaker C: I love Episode I.
Boz is not alerting anybody that he is concerned with them, and he is trying to act surprised and is, like, also whispering Greta Smallstar. Is that Greta Smallstar? You know, like, he's, like, whispering it too.
Boss. The thought of the plane shift came to boss's head.
[02:00:34] Speaker B: Head.
[02:00:34] Speaker C: And then also quickly left because he doesn't have a fork tuned to the material plane. So even if we all left, we would be stuck in the city of brass, listeners.
[02:00:44] Speaker A: Big kid moves. Yeah, big kid moves right there. That is a kid who reads his spells.
[02:00:49] Speaker C: So not a good idea.
There are no trees. Correct. Dm.
[02:00:54] Speaker A: I mean, what did I say? Like, eight buildings down, there's the. I guess six buildings down now there's. There is Tesha's giant tree.
[02:01:03] Speaker C: I'm not taking them to Tesha. That's definitely not happening. We're not putting any heat there.
[02:01:09] Speaker B: Is there anyone?
[02:01:12] Speaker C: We're at the sea. We're at. We're at the sea.
[02:01:17] Speaker A: Yes.
So it's like, it's like, you know, huge sloping city buildings. Then there is this, it's actually quite a bit like port that like there is just like, like, like a street right before the ocean begins. Now the big difference between Home Cove and Ports Blending saw is important. You saw it's like street, five foot drop ocean.
Because there's never like any big waves or tides there.
[02:01:39] Speaker C: I have the sitting stone. I have the sinning stone.
[02:01:43] Speaker A: Okay. In I'm going to describe this. No, no.
[02:01:45] Speaker C: Yes.
[02:01:45] Speaker A: It's like street and then there's like 100, 150ft of beach and then it's ocean and then the dock's going out that way as well. Okay. But I'm sorry, you have the sending stone?
[02:01:55] Speaker C: I do have the sending stone. And I, I, I'm like, is that good? A small. And then I'm like backing away to like outside.
You're just.
[02:02:06] Speaker A: Advert is gone.
[02:02:07] Speaker C: No. Yeah, he's gone. I, I pull it up and I call Ro and I'm like get the heck out of the shop. Get, just run outside right now.
[02:02:14] Speaker A: Get the heck out of the shop.
[02:02:15] Speaker B: Ro I.
[02:02:16] Speaker A: Okay, you're getting that message in your head as you backpedal into the shop. You're go to close the door and like three or four hands wrap around the door and open and just the crowd just descends and compresses and is.
[02:02:29] Speaker B: There another room in the like 10.
[02:02:32] Speaker A: Or 20 people flooding now you're in a building, you're in a, you're in a butcher shop. Red brick, kind of beautiful. It's exposed brick on the inside.
The counter is just like a wood counter. There's no like glass display case that's kind of like high level for this place. But there, there are cured meats just hanging all around the shop. There's three or four people who are or butchers and assistants. They're all in like bibs over like kind of soiled, low clothing. There's four or five people waiting for orders in the shop and people just kind of waiting around and people like looking confused at you, taking in this strange Taylor looking lady and then this old lady and there's like exchanged glances and like four or five people of the nine people in here look like they don't recognize anything. Five people start kind of opening their eyes and looking at Greta and the people are just compressing in from outside. Like people are pushing their way.
[02:03:21] Speaker B: Can we get back to, behind the workers?
Like I mean can we get back to the workers like, excuse me, excuse me, excuse me.
[02:03:29] Speaker A: Past the counter there is, there is like one of those kind of like drawbridge. I really want someone to tell me the name of what that is. Yeah, those, like you can lift up. There's one of those. And then there's like the butcher's area. And there appears to be a door in the back.
[02:03:41] Speaker B: Okay. Oh, excuse us. Can we get. Thank you. Excuse us. And roll. So you're like pushing Greta.
[02:03:47] Speaker A: People are, people are getting out of your way because there's some amount of general like, oh, a person's getting by. But everyone coming in from inside is fl. So like the butchers are getting confused and looking up because like there's now 20 people in the shop.
[02:03:57] Speaker C: So they don't try to get out.
[02:03:58] Speaker A: Doesn't respond as you start moving your way to the counter and asking, first of all, one of the butchers recognizes Greta and just goes, okay, Ro, could you give me a persuasion check? Yeah, at disadvantage to have these people just let you behind the counter of their shop.
[02:04:18] Speaker B: Crap, that's gonna be a nine.
[02:04:25] Speaker A: So one of the butchers steps forward and confused this kind of middle aged woman and goes, no, you can't.
[02:04:31] Speaker B: Okay, okay.
[02:04:32] Speaker A: And then the other butcher puts a hand on his shoulder and goes, that's Greta. Small star looking at Greta.
[02:04:41] Speaker B: Yeah. And she's talking to the voice of boss just heard in her head because, yeah, I think we're gonna speak out loud. I think we're gonna have to. And she looks at Greta and she looks at like as a question almost, I think we're gonna have to see you on the boat.
And she looks at Greta.
[02:04:59] Speaker A: They, they both look and like the, the two butchers look back and forth to say the boat. And then like there's maybe 30 people pressed in the room. It's starting to get kind of tight. You don't have a lot of room in between the counter. They're both in front of you and like, so the, the, the bridge to the counter has been lift up. But they're both kind of standing there and they, the, the one who recognized you just goes, the boy.
No idea what you're talking about.
[02:05:23] Speaker B: Ro is now Ro. Ro in the confined space she has, is holding on to Greta for dear life.
Take soul mender and strums a little cast teleport underneath just her and Greta and absolutely teleports to the poor bet.
[02:05:41] Speaker A: Yeah. It's not a circle that picks up anybody. It's like, yeah, whoever. Yeah.
[02:05:47] Speaker B: Can I flavor this real quick? Can I Flavor that as I do this, just because I don't want Greta to be the only one in the. In the fire here. As Drow is doing this, her disguised self starts wearing off as she casts teleport.
[02:06:02] Speaker A: As your disguise self fades away, and there is an explosion of golden light and multicolored power. One of the most powerful magical displays that can happen in the world. Go. Goes off and the crowd, everyone steps.
[02:06:14] Speaker B: Back and gas couldn't be more normally, where it's a door, it's a circle right under us.
[02:06:20] Speaker A: Oh, sick.
[02:06:22] Speaker C: And as the. The.
[02:06:23] Speaker A: The light just with energy, everyone. There's gas and a thermic difference in the place. And then you and Greta just through the floor, and there's just this behind you and all the dust out of the room. And there's Boz. You're outside.
You hear, we're gonna have to meet you back on the boat. And then, like two or three seconds later, you hear playing and you recognize, like, oh, Rose definitely casting something. And then you hear, like, a very slight.
And that you would probably recognize at this point. And then you're just shouting and guffawing from the crowd at this point. The Kefkans pick up their pace a little bit, but they're still probably like 200ft back. And they're just kind of like walking briskly. Now.
[02:07:02] Speaker C: Oz heads towards the tavern that the Aardvark. Aardvark. Ardvard.
I don't know why I'm strolling the same.
[02:07:10] Speaker A: I'm not gonna penalize you for.
[02:07:11] Speaker C: It was a weird name that he. No, it's a good name. I'm. I love it, actually, that one that he pointed out because, number one, they know I was with them.
[02:07:25] Speaker B: They don't.
[02:07:27] Speaker C: Many people saw us walking together, and we were interrogated by Kefkan officers.
[02:07:33] Speaker B: Oh, shoot.
[02:07:34] Speaker C: Yes, they do.
So Boz is gonna realize that they're gone. Be like, all right, cool.
Not my circus. Not my circus and my monkeys. But not, you know, it's a traveling circus, so it goes where it wants.
[02:07:46] Speaker B: Where was.
[02:07:47] Speaker C: What was.
[02:07:47] Speaker B: I do.
[02:07:48] Speaker A: Hey, hey, hey. I'm letting Boz tell me. Keep telling me your thing.
[02:07:52] Speaker C: So Boz tries to indiscreetly head towards. Towards the shady tavern that Aardvard left information on.
[02:08:01] Speaker A: Okay.
[02:08:02] Speaker C: And also, he's going to think very hard about what to do about Arvard now, because he is also somebody that will tie that saw that happen, that interacted with us, and that can and is motivated by money and also did not like Roe a whole lot.
So I I.
[02:08:27] Speaker A: Okay, absolutely.
[02:08:28] Speaker C: That's what boss is doing.
[02:08:30] Speaker A: Bob and Boz, you head down the street. You walk right by those guards. They're absorbed. They don't care. You watch them walk by. They get to the crowd, and they start trying to pull people apart. And you get the feeling like it's gonna be 10 minutes before they get in that butcher shop.
And. But as murmuring and whispering goes around, you watch the bar. The guards, like, as they're trying to push past here or something, and, like, get shocked faces looking at each other. And one of them pulls out a little metal whistle and blows it.
And, Boz, you. You know, walk briskly down the street.
You don't have to be, like, sprinting or anything, but you walk briskly down the street.
Give me an investigation check. Looking for.
What did I call the inner.
[02:09:14] Speaker B: Don't like that music.
[02:09:16] Speaker C: I don't hear it.
[02:09:19] Speaker A: What did I call? Did I call it the shade?
[02:09:20] Speaker B: Yeah.
[02:09:25] Speaker C: Investigation check.
I got a six.
[02:09:31] Speaker A: Okay.
[02:09:36] Speaker C: Six.
[02:09:37] Speaker A: All right.
Boz. You do not find it immediately. Now, you don't not find it. You're not an idiot.
You just. It takes you good five or ten minutes, you're discombobulated. Takes you a while to find it. What has to happen is you wind up needing to ask people where it is.
Doesn't mean you can't find it. You just don't find it immediately. Now, it's not, like, weird, you know, you're just a guy walking down the street who has to stop four or five people and say, like, hey, where's the shading?
You. Yeah, because the first person's confident and gives you the wrong directions. The second person tells you how far you need to get a certain way, but doesn't know past there. Eventually, you get there, right?
So five or ten minutes later, you're on your way to the right path.
You do not make a. Make a perception check. For me, it's not a high D.C. 17.
Okay. Well past 17.
Not a person has noticed you that you can see. Nobody's following you. You're just some guy in the street.
And you start making your way up the southeastern edge of the caldera, you start realizing that. Why this place? You don't see it yet, but you realize why it might be called the shade.
Where the caldera rises high over the edge of Home Cove on this side and where the sun sits, you realize that this side of town is probably only in sunlight for, like, an hour or two a day, depending on the angle. And it's mostly in shade all day. Long. And you start working your way toward wherever that inn is.
Greta. And row five or 10 minutes ago. Maybe 10 minutes ago, you're on the deck of the poor bed.
[02:11:17] Speaker B: Yeah.
[02:11:18] Speaker A: And actually, hold on.
Let's be specific about that, shall we?
Let's talk about teleport.
[02:11:27] Speaker B: Yeah.
[02:11:31] Speaker A: Which is fun because I'm always doing this with the other group.
So you guys do not have a circle on your boat.
[02:11:36] Speaker B: No.
[02:11:39] Speaker A: That'S probably going to work.
I mean, you couldn't have more familiarity.
[02:11:45] Speaker B: Yeah.
[02:11:46] Speaker A: Okay.
You don't have permanent circle, but you are very familiar.
So roll a D100 for me. You could not be more familiar if.
[02:12:03] Speaker C: You have an associated object that was taken from the desired destination within the last six months. You can't miss where you're going.
[02:12:10] Speaker A: Yes, that is true. Ro, have you taken any of the rigging with you, Any of the lids, any of the parts of the boat?
[02:12:19] Speaker C: We did take some of the items with us to.
[02:12:23] Speaker B: My flowers. My flowers grow on items that are.
[02:12:26] Speaker A: Temporarily on the boat at some point or part of the boat. You know, flowers.
[02:12:32] Speaker C: The exam. No, I think you're.
[02:12:33] Speaker A: I think.
[02:12:33] Speaker C: I mean, that's a good point. But it also says that items from a location, such as a book from a library, a bad linen from a royal suite, you know, so it doesn't have to be a physical part.
[02:12:42] Speaker A: Absolutely.
I like. I would call that like if you were trying to get to Legath and you had a rock from the street all day long.
[02:12:49] Speaker C: Got it.
[02:12:50] Speaker A: The items you guys have on your person aren't from. They're all things you took onto the boat and then took off the boat. You know what I mean?
[02:12:55] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. They didn't originate. It's like. They don't have, like. Like a material association with that location.
[02:13:00] Speaker A: No, it's pretty hard to fail this. She couldn't be more familiar. She's in the 25 to 100.
[02:13:05] Speaker B: I got a 6D8, so we're good.
[02:13:07] Speaker A: Okay.
[02:13:07] Speaker B: Yeah.
[02:13:08] Speaker A: I mean, a little bit of tension, but it's kind of hard to fail that check.
So you guys just appear with a rush of energy and color on the deck of the poor boat. The poor bet just in the middle of the ocean.
Bill, freeze at the helmet. He goes. Oh, hey, there's.
[02:13:28] Speaker B: Hey, guys.
[02:13:29] Speaker A: Usually more of you.
[02:13:30] Speaker B: Yeah, we ran into some problems.
[02:13:33] Speaker D: Well, I am so sorry.
[02:13:35] Speaker B: No, don't be sorry. I shouldn't have. We need to. I need. We should send. Do you want us. Do you have sending on you, Greta, right now?
[02:13:45] Speaker D: I don't.
[02:13:46] Speaker B: Okay. Should I Send. I feel like I should send a. Like Tello for the rest of the party. And balls.
[02:13:51] Speaker A: Is everything okay?
[02:13:53] Speaker B: No, we gotta. Got recognized in homecove.
[02:13:56] Speaker A: Smash cut to the opalescent tome.
[02:13:58] Speaker B: Yeah.
[02:13:59] Speaker A: And Tello. Tello is leaning back with a. With like a little cup of tea in the dimensional space, and so is Craig. And Tello goes, we can't hear you.
Oh, excuse me. Tello is like, leaning back at a table with a cup of tea and he's sitting with Craig. And he goes, I see what you're saying.
I'm not saying she's a good person. I'm just saying Bella under is not. Not cute. I just wouldn't go on a date with her, you know, she's just mean.
And then smash cut back to you guys.
[02:14:31] Speaker B: I call wrap up here in a second. I call Tello first. I would call Craig, but obviously Mike is not here, so I call Tello.
[02:14:38] Speaker A: Absolutely.
[02:14:39] Speaker C: We can even push that a little bit, Zach, if you want. Like, I'm not.
[02:14:43] Speaker A: Okay, but we won't go forever.
[02:14:44] Speaker B: And I say Tello.
No, I don't say his name because that's a word. And I forgot that I'm not using ascending stone. I'm using the spell. Hopefully that's okay.
I say.
[02:14:59] Speaker A: I'll give you that one.
[02:15:00] Speaker B: Okay.
I say it's 25 words. Right?
[02:15:06] Speaker C: Yeah.
[02:15:07] Speaker B: Okay. I say.
[02:15:08] Speaker A: Oh, this is fun. I missed.
[02:15:09] Speaker B: Yeah, right. Greta and I are on the boat teleported because we were seen in street.
Had to get out bars still there.
Apologies to K, please.
And you.
[02:15:41] Speaker A: Okay. He gets everything but the U. Yeah.
You roll a D100 for me?
[02:15:46] Speaker B: Yeah.
[02:15:47] Speaker A: They are technically on a different plane of existence. How? It's only a 5% chance it fails. They're in a demi.
[02:15:53] Speaker B: Oh, shoot fire.
[02:15:54] Speaker A: You know, just roll anything but a five and below and you're fine.
Yeah. Okay. You're really. Both of those roles felt dramatic, but both of those roles were pretty hard to fail.
So you reach out and tell her goes.
Oh, crap.
Okay, words.
Boz has stone.
I guess Craig and I wait here.
Oh, I can't teleport, but I'm still your friend.
[02:16:45] Speaker C: Where's the door? It's in Connor J's shop. They're there for 22 more hours. 23 more hours, and then they're just gonna get kicked out that door into her shop.
[02:16:57] Speaker A: Well, no, no, her. They're. They're in K's permanent. Yeah, her magnificent mansion is like an established demi.
[02:17:04] Speaker C: They're not in Rose Mansion, though.
[02:17:06] Speaker A: That would be Hilarious.
[02:17:07] Speaker B: So funny.
[02:17:08] Speaker A: That would be so hilarious.
[02:17:09] Speaker B: 11 DM Goober has his own sending stone, right?
[02:17:15] Speaker A: He does.
[02:17:15] Speaker B: I run and grab Shagoober and say, can I have the sending stone real quick?
Oh, wow, bro.
[02:17:20] Speaker A: What does they need? Story you've told me. Here's the stone.
[02:17:22] Speaker B: Yeah, okay.
[02:17:24] Speaker A: The second sending stone.
[02:17:26] Speaker B: I forgot. The guru's got a stone.
[02:17:30] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, I forgot. I forgot to.
[02:17:32] Speaker B: So, yeah, I can come back and get you guys in a little bit. I need to call Balls, I guess, and see what's going on. I hope he's not too mad at us. I mean, we were like. We were.
Greta was a roach and then someone stomped on her.
[02:17:48] Speaker A: Is there anything you want me doing or just wanting to?
[02:17:50] Speaker B: You guys, people were murdering Greta Smallstar throughout the street and Kefkins were coming. So you and Craig need to not leave them.
[02:17:59] Speaker A: Not murdering. That makes so much sense. Yeah, we weren't going to.
[02:18:01] Speaker B: Don't leave.
[02:18:02] Speaker A: We're just here.
[02:18:03] Speaker B: We'll come and get you. Tell Connor I'm so sorry. I hope no heat gets on her.
[02:18:08] Speaker A: Okay?
Do you want me to let you say that?
[02:18:11] Speaker B: Let me say that. Is she near?
[02:18:14] Speaker A: I just. This whole conversation is me just. I just need to sit here, right?
[02:18:17] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's fine. Yeah, you guys stay.
[02:18:22] Speaker A: Yeah, no, it's all good.
[02:18:23] Speaker B: Okay, bye. I'll call Boz.
[02:18:25] Speaker A: Okay. Craig, I don't know. That's a hot take. Okay. I don't know about that one. What?
[02:18:29] Speaker B: Don't go outside. Okay.
[02:18:31] Speaker A: Yeah, no, that's the same as before. Okay, gotcha.
[02:18:34] Speaker B: Okay. She calls Boss Balls. Are you.
Where are you?
[02:18:39] Speaker A: You're walking through the city. You're about a block away from the shade.
[02:18:45] Speaker C: I was like, oh, I'm just walking down the street.
[02:18:47] Speaker B: Okay.
[02:18:47] Speaker A: Yeah. Calm as could be. You can see now that the shade is set up between. This music's a little dramatic. I just don't have. I don't have music that's quite in between. Oh, wait, I do. Oh, what a missed opportunity. I could have been running this song the whole time.
[02:19:03] Speaker C: Start running it. We're still going.
[02:19:04] Speaker B: Yeah, let's go.
[02:19:05] Speaker A: I know, but this one would have been perfect the whole time I made. There's another song I made and it's fits perfectly for this tempo. But you guys heard it a couple sessions ago, but dang it. Oh well, it just would have fit this entire tone perfectly. And I use the tension music instead. Uncultured spine.
So Boz, as you're walking up, it's this like three story building which There are plenty of those in Home Cove, but not like a ton. Three story buildings are uncommon anywhere in the world. And it's very tall. It's kind of. It's like a. It's like a Tudor style building, very telethian design.
But everything's like a. Like a pretty dark brown color. And a lot of it. Part of it's the shade from the wall of the caldera that's like a quarter mile high. But also part of it's like this building is just dark colors and like a lot of black is used in the paint and then that has chipped away and it just doesn't look good. It's in poor condition.
Of the 32 windows on the front, seven are broken.
There is no door on the front of the establishment, though you can see the arch and the hinges where it should have been.
There is a sign, a placard over the arch that says and the A, D E is gone. So it just is the sh.
And that's half wearing away too.
You watch. And a lot of the buildings around here are not nice.
There are warehouses. Hard to tell if they're in use or abandoned.
Basic just. You're not on the nice side of.
[02:20:41] Speaker B: Town.
[02:20:43] Speaker A: And it's not packed, but there's a fair population of people.
People are moving in and out. You can hear some. There's no music coming from the inn, but you can hear some shouts from the inside. And it looks more in than tavern, though it does sound like there is a pub downstairs.
And you could just hear some shouting.
Oh, and like two rats run out of a hall. A hole in the bottom wall in the front and into an alley space.
Okay, you're there when you get up. Sorry, go ahead.
[02:21:18] Speaker C: I walk inside and I already look kind of unkempt in vagabondish.
[02:21:22] Speaker A: You're fit. You don't not fit. Bobbin, is there like a barkeep or.
[02:21:27] Speaker C: Somebody that looks to be in charge.
[02:21:29] Speaker A: Someone that looks in the front of the space.
The. This like bar downstairs is pretty small.
There's like a kitchen door on a left side. It's maybe 30ft by 40, which for the size of the building is pretty small. It looks like there's already rooms on the front floor and you can see a stairwell to your right and a stairwell to your left at one point. This was a very nice building. And the, the stairs go up to either side and you get the feeling that they lead to the second and third floor. So all the storage rooms and offices must be on the first floor. And there are no booths to the sides. And the walls, it's just a series of tables in the middle, five or six. And there's just like. There is one bar, no window back to the kitchen. It's just a door in and out to the back, and then a door on the other side that doesn't lead anywhere clear. And there's a big lock around the handle. And the place is half filled with people. When you walk up, when you walk in, literally everyone in there looks up at the door and looks at you and then doesn't pay any mind and goes back to what they're doing. Two or three people stare.
And at the bar is a very tall, thin, gaunt elven man. He's very pale, very skinny. He's wearing pretty soiled clothes. Not, like, filthy, just not clean. And he's got, like, a stained bib.
Work apron. That's the word over the front of him. And he just kind of, like, eyes you as you walk to the counter.
[02:23:00] Speaker C: I just go up to him and say, hey, do you have a.
A room I can take for the night?
[02:23:08] Speaker A: He goes, yeah. Why on earth would I not have a room?
I've got a room. All right.
What do you want? You. Just you?
[02:23:17] Speaker C: Yeah, just me.
[02:23:19] Speaker A: Okay. It's not cheap.
[02:23:21] Speaker C: That's fine.
When do. When do I need to be out of the room? By tomorrow.
[02:23:27] Speaker A: A copper. A copper. A knight.
[02:23:29] Speaker C: That's fine. I pull out.
[02:23:32] Speaker A: That's very cheap.
[02:23:33] Speaker C: I pull. I have copper. I have copper in my inventory.
[02:23:36] Speaker A: Yeah.
[02:23:36] Speaker C: I pull out a copper and I.
I hand it to him, and I. I gave him 2 extra copper as a tip.
[02:23:45] Speaker A: Okay. He looks down.
Okay. No name. Understood.
And he takes the copper from you and slides behind the counter. He gets the feeling that that's what a tip usually means. Here. And.
[02:23:56] Speaker B: Nice.
[02:23:57] Speaker A: He pulls out this. Like this. Really? It's a key that's just like. It's. It's old. All the original color is worn off. And it's like. It's, like, brighter in some places from people's, like, you know, impression on. It's been used so many times. And as you look down the length of the teeth, the key. There's like a shaft and there's two teeth, but they're, like, identical and right next to each other and completely nondescript.
And you have it.
[02:24:21] Speaker C: All right.
[02:24:21] Speaker A: Room nine, second floor. All right.
[02:24:24] Speaker C: Thank you.
[02:24:26] Speaker A: Any alcohol?
[02:24:29] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah.
[02:24:33] Speaker A: Whiskey?
[02:24:34] Speaker C: Yeah. Thank you.
[02:24:36] Speaker A: Which whiskey?
[02:24:38] Speaker C: Your choice? I don't know.
[02:24:41] Speaker A: Strong?
[02:24:41] Speaker C: Yes. Bad? Please. Strong.
Strong enough to not be able to tell the Difference between better, good. That'd be okay.
[02:24:49] Speaker A: All right. Okay.
He reaches down and he pulls up this bottle. As he lifts it up, there's a label. That label has been covered with a different label.
And that. It. It's. And it's just like. It's just like. Like basic paper just glued on. And the front just says whiskey misspelled. And it's got two X's on it. And he just puts it down. It's just got a cork topper. And he goes, bottle.
[02:25:20] Speaker C: No, I'll just. I'll just take. I'll just take a cup.
[02:25:22] Speaker A: One.
[02:25:22] Speaker C: One.
[02:25:24] Speaker A: One cup.
Okay.
Three copper.
[02:25:28] Speaker C: All right.
[02:25:29] Speaker A: Pulls out this glass that doesn't look like it's been cleaned and just slides it over to you.
[02:25:36] Speaker C: I give. I imitate like a row. Prestidigitation whistle. And then I down it and then I go to my room.
[02:25:43] Speaker A: All right. Good, Boz. Oh, it like. It's very strong and also awful. You could. You could peel paint with that. Terrible.
It was hard to tell. It tasted like whiskey. And you turn. Head up the stairs. As you're walking up the stairs, you get the message from Ro in your head.
[02:26:01] Speaker B: Hey, balls.
[02:26:04] Speaker C: Sup?
[02:26:05] Speaker B: Are you mad at us?
[02:26:07] Speaker C: No. That was the most entertaining thing I have seen in my entire life.
[02:26:11] Speaker B: I. I didn't know what else to do. We were cornered in that. In that butcher shop, and I just thought, we should go back on the boat. I didn't want to endanger corner or the. Or the opalescent home, so.
[02:26:21] Speaker C: It was a good choice. That was a good choice.
[02:26:23] Speaker B: I mean, I can.
Give me 24 hours. I can go back and get Tello and. And.
And Craig or if you want to get them, or.
We are on the ship now.
[02:26:33] Speaker C: Here. Here's the thing.
You can't get in there without going back to the shop. Go to the shop first, and then you go to the mansion. Right. And then you have to go back out of the shop to go. So you gotta be.
[02:26:50] Speaker B: No, it's like behind the shop. The.
[02:26:52] Speaker A: The.
[02:26:53] Speaker B: The. Where the circle is, is behind the shop.
[02:26:56] Speaker C: Oh, it's like outside the demon.
[02:26:57] Speaker A: It's. No, circle is in a private room.
[02:26:59] Speaker B: Yeah, it's like in a private room. No one would see us. Yeah.
[02:27:02] Speaker C: All right, but you have to stay there for a day, right?
[02:27:06] Speaker B: Yeah, but I mean, you can still do.
[02:27:09] Speaker C: You can do teleportation circle.
[02:27:10] Speaker B: Yeah, I could teleportation circle and then teleport back. Yeah.
[02:27:13] Speaker C: Why don't you do that?
[02:27:14] Speaker B: Unless.
Because I just teleported.
[02:27:19] Speaker C: You have Teleportation circle. Can you do that twice?
Cuz now is the best time to do that.
[02:27:24] Speaker B: I can only do. I can only do teleportation circumstances struggle once because I used it already today.
[02:27:30] Speaker C: Don't you have an upgrade?
Yeah, you can just go.
[02:27:33] Speaker B: I have two level five spell slots and I've already used one.
[02:27:37] Speaker C: You have a sixth level spell slot again.
[02:27:39] Speaker A: Could you do another fifth level?
[02:27:42] Speaker B: I've only have one fifth level left, so I would teleportation circle there. I wouldn't be able to get back unless I cast. Can I cast it at six level You.
[02:27:51] Speaker A: First of all, you can. Second of all, you couldn't teleportation circle back to the boat because you guys don't have a teleportation.
[02:27:56] Speaker B: No, I teleportation circle. Circle to Home Cove.
[02:27:58] Speaker C: That's right. We did she teleportation circle to homeco.
[02:28:02] Speaker A: Yeah. And then you teleported back to the boat. You could teleportation circle back to homecoming. You could go right back to the op.
[02:28:08] Speaker B: But then I couldn't come back to the boat.
[02:28:13] Speaker A: You have no way to get back to the boat no matter what. Until the next day, I was assuming you'd be meeting back up with Boz there and then tree striding back.
[02:28:20] Speaker B: Yeah.
[02:28:20] Speaker A: Now you guys gotta find a tree in Home Cove. But if you guys could meet up at a tree. If you guys could meet up at a tree in Home Cove, you could just tree stride back to the boat.
[02:28:27] Speaker B: Boat. I can't disguise myself again though until tomorrow either.
[02:28:30] Speaker C: Yeah, I. I wasn't thinking about.
[02:28:32] Speaker B: He says to balls.
[02:28:33] Speaker C: I was thinking there was a circle on the boat already.
And your mansion doesn't have a circle.
[02:28:39] Speaker A: In.
[02:28:41] Speaker B: Will now though, because you and I talked about that, remember?
Yes, but I'm.
[02:28:48] Speaker C: I mean, why don't you. You could.
Man, what a funny time.
[02:28:54] Speaker B: All right.
[02:28:55] Speaker A: Man, I've used the players handbook so much today, and it's fun.
[02:28:59] Speaker B: I mean, if I.
If I. If I sleep for a little bit.
For a long bit.
[02:29:05] Speaker C: Eight hours.
[02:29:07] Speaker B: Yeah. What are you. Where are you. What are you doing? What are you planning to do? Are you gonna. Are you gonna go? Are you gonna.
[02:29:13] Speaker C: I just whispered a small star like five or six times. And then.
[02:29:16] Speaker B: Wonderful love that you perpetuated at this.
[02:29:19] Speaker A: Point in the conversation. You've just checked into your room.
[02:29:22] Speaker C: I'm not saying those words in public. Okay, yeah, yeah, absolutely.
[02:29:25] Speaker A: You've checked in your room. Close the door behind you. Also, when you put the key in the door. Yeah, that doesn't do this door doesn't lock. The key. The key has no groove to the teeth. It's just a key. And when you put it in the lock, it just opens. And you close it behind you. The room's terrible. You open the. You open the door and six things scatter. But you sit down on the bed and you've continued.
[02:29:45] Speaker C: I cast animals. Animal speaking. And I. I try to have. For me. I just. So I can talk to them when I'm off the phone with Ro.
[02:29:51] Speaker A: Okay. Absolutely.
[02:29:52] Speaker C: And then I.
Greta, what are you.
[02:29:57] Speaker B: Did you need to go back to homecover? Are you not thinking. You will know.
[02:30:03] Speaker C: You'Re muted. This is the way.
[02:30:06] Speaker A: Thank you.
[02:30:09] Speaker D: You know, I feel really bad.
[02:30:12] Speaker B: I don't.
[02:30:13] Speaker D: So maybe I'll do anything.
I mean, he had stepped on. I'm sorry, bro.
[02:30:22] Speaker B: No, it's okay.
I mean, me or boss could have gotten stepped on and done the same thing.
I mean, what do you guys should Tello and Craig just stay there until I can grab them tomorrow or. Boss, are you gonna grab them and tree them out of here or.
[02:30:42] Speaker D: We don't have a way to disguise.
[02:30:44] Speaker C: I think that anything. I. I don't think we should tree stride away from there. I think that if we have to decide, you should wait and go pick them up. Because if we go back into the city, you're asking for trouble.
[02:30:53] Speaker B: Yeah.
[02:30:55] Speaker C: Is there a no other teleportation circle that you could go back to other than the boat? Because you don't have to go back to the boat. You could go to the Westwood. You know this the place. We went there. No one would find us there. The teleportation circle, where the suit of armor is. That's a circle you go to Does.
[02:31:10] Speaker B: But what would be the point of that?
[02:31:12] Speaker C: I mean, to be somewhere that no one can find us or track us to.
[02:31:15] Speaker D: What about the temple?
[02:31:16] Speaker C: And we can sit there for a day and figure out what the next step is.
[02:31:20] Speaker B: Well, no one can find us here on the boat in the middle of.
[02:31:22] Speaker D: The ocean, but Tello and Tello and.
[02:31:26] Speaker B: Oh, you mean to get them out of there.
[02:31:28] Speaker C: Yes, you can get them out of there right now if you go there.
[02:31:31] Speaker B: Well, I mean, they're in another plane of existence, right?
[02:31:35] Speaker C: Only has one door, and that door is in a city where we just kicked the nest. What. What I'm thinking is the sooner we get them out of home. The sooner we get them out of Home Cove, the safer they will be. And if we have control over getting in and out of that place with a teleportation circle then I think it's I, I think getting them out very quickly. I don't know. Damn it. Can I do like an arcana check to see if like teleporting into the Westwood with the teleportation circle, would it be dangerous to get out with a teleportation circle or.
[02:32:06] Speaker A: No, why don't you give me a strategy check?
[02:32:10] Speaker C: That is a 10 and I. Strategy is intelligence, right?
[02:32:13] Speaker D: Is that a teleportation circle?
[02:32:18] Speaker A: No.
You know that he used the cleric.
[02:32:23] Speaker C: Yeah.
[02:32:24] Speaker B: My thought balls says Ro is, I mean, K has her place and her mansion like extremely well protected where no one can, no one can peer in. I mean, I have the amulet on me, so me and Greta are fine.
And Kage has, I'm sure, tons of proof of detection on all of her shop and everything.
[02:32:47] Speaker C: Silver whistle row. As I was walking away, a silence.
[02:32:51] Speaker A: That doesn't matter.
It was also auto. It was just a whistle. I'm sorry.
[02:32:54] Speaker C: I know, but I'm trying to make it sound like it was something.
[02:32:56] Speaker A: Okay, sorry.
[02:32:57] Speaker C: Like that whistle is the first domino in a series of dominoes that is going to make everything focus on Homeco again.
And Kanager is extremely powerful and I, I think that she could hold out in her shop for a long time.
But this is an empire that top and nations.
And if they thought that two of the fun guys were there, which I don't think is impossible for them to.
[02:33:29] Speaker B: Figure out, I could, I could either go.
[02:33:31] Speaker C: I think it would. Cause I do not think they would be safe.
[02:33:35] Speaker B: Okay, I have, I have interject quickly.
[02:33:39] Speaker A: Yeah, pause with your 10.
[02:33:41] Speaker C: 11.
[02:33:42] Speaker A: 11. Excuse me?
Let me fix that with your 11.
Oh, Kanajay can teleport. You remember that.
If you got to the shop, Kanajay could teleport the three of you guys back to the ship.
[02:34:02] Speaker C: I say that to them.
[02:34:04] Speaker B: Okay, we could do that. I could also.
I mean, is it going to be harder for her to do it though? Because she hasn't been to the ship, you know, So, I mean, I, I. For my teleportation circles, I could go to Nifty's Lighthouse. I could go to the Countess Castle.
All great, all great options, I think.
[02:34:30] Speaker C: I think the Westwood is the safest place for right now. Because if they find out that like all the fun guys are there, there, I think that some crazy divination and crazy tracking is going on and they're going to find us on. I don't know. I don't know. This, this is a powerful thing. I think we need to get somewhere weird and obtuse. And the hardest thing.
[02:34:50] Speaker B: I don't want to put the people on the boat in a bad way, though. I don't want them in. No protection.
[02:34:55] Speaker C: Exactly.
[02:35:02] Speaker B: Relay all this to Greta so she knows what's.
[02:35:05] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Loop on the conversation.
What's the party doing?
All right.
[02:35:10] Speaker C: That's what I think. Ro.
[02:35:12] Speaker B: So are you gonna. Are you gonna meet us at. So if I teleport to Connor J.
Are you gonna meet us there and go with us?
[02:35:21] Speaker C: No. No.
[02:35:22] Speaker B: So where are you going?
[02:35:24] Speaker C: I'm going to find a tree.
[02:35:26] Speaker B: Can you get back to the west?
You're not going to be able to find a tree near there. It's going to be too crazy.
[02:35:34] Speaker C: I can't get into connages without un.
Without being myself. Like, I have to be like, I went in there as a bird. I guess the thing is, like, if I've.
[02:35:43] Speaker B: Can't you change your.
[02:35:44] Speaker A: I just love the band of Unreal.
[02:35:46] Speaker B: Yeah. And change that ring to a different thing or something.
[02:35:49] Speaker C: I know, but we're compromised. Like.
Like multiple people saw us, including the people that are going to be looking for us.
[02:35:58] Speaker D: They do also know that we're on a. We went to a boat.
[02:36:03] Speaker C: They also know that y' all went to the boat because y' all said the boat in the shop. So they know that we're on the boat. And I know that Biscuit knows what our boat looks like because he shot an arrow into it to track us.
So they know the boat.
[02:36:17] Speaker A: Not to complicate this further. RO is still wearing the amulet of proof against detection and Divination.
I'm not saying that. Protects you guys from everything.
[02:36:26] Speaker B: Yeah.
[02:36:27] Speaker A: And not to make this more.
[02:36:28] Speaker B: Well, that's what I was saying is.
[02:36:29] Speaker A: Remember, wherever Roe is localized. I mean, you guys. Gods have been able to look at you.
[02:36:35] Speaker B: Yeah.
[02:36:35] Speaker A: That you've seen so far.
[02:36:38] Speaker C: And the Count and.
[02:36:39] Speaker A: But I was really weird happened with the Count.
[02:36:41] Speaker B: Yeah.
[02:36:41] Speaker A: So nobody knows what's up with that. But it has also rebuffed some things so far. Not to make this even more vague and ambiguous. That is a weird variable in here, too.
[02:36:50] Speaker B: That's what I was saying is that I have the amulet of proof and detection. So the. So the ship is fine right now for the. I mean, you know, for a little bit. And K has a lot of like.
Like wards on her place.
So that's why I was like, I'm not too worried about that.
Being able to track us. Exactly.
[02:37:10] Speaker C: I'll try to get back to Kan. I'll try to get back to the opalescent tone. And then I just feel like that's the obvious choice. I feel like that's the obvious choice. Looking for. We all go back there. Like if you go back there, it needs to be boom, boom, boom. Like, I feel like if I was viscous or if I was somebody, I would be like, they're going there. Like that's the obvious place to go to.
I don't know.
[02:37:38] Speaker B: I mean, I could, I don't know.
[02:37:41] Speaker C: I, I, I can tree back to the ship. I can find a tree and just walk through, through it. You know, I'll tree back to the ship.
[02:37:51] Speaker B: You go back to shape.
[02:37:56] Speaker A: Lent me sending stone.
[02:37:57] Speaker B: Oh, hey, Tello. Are we on a three way call right now?
[02:38:00] Speaker A: No, just, you know what? The magic doesn't work out this way, but in this moment, weirdly, it is. Weirdly it's working. And all three of us in our three way.
Yeah, I guess divination can work like that.
[02:38:10] Speaker B: Yeah.
[02:38:12] Speaker A: Hey. Yeah.
Oh, that's crazy. You just.
[02:38:16] Speaker C: I can't hear you.
This is the way you.
[02:38:20] Speaker A: What?
[02:38:20] Speaker C: I think you're on mute. Hello? I can't. I see you're. I can't.
[02:38:24] Speaker B: I didn't think there was a mute.
[02:38:25] Speaker C: Oh, I can hear you now.
I can hear you now. You're all good.
[02:38:28] Speaker A: Sorry. Sorry. The stone. Yeah.
Yeah. So that's crazy, bro. Just caught me up on everything you guys were saying. Saves a lot of time for the listener.
So an interesting development. Kanijay is also here. She's heard about the situation. She's concerned.
She said she has a stick that turns into a tree.
[02:38:47] Speaker B: Oh, that would actually be very helpful.
[02:38:51] Speaker A: So if boss is back here.
[02:38:52] Speaker B: Yeah. And I, And I'll teleport.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, let's, let's do that.
I'll teleport.
[02:39:00] Speaker A: I'm not trying to push anything on you.
[02:39:01] Speaker B: I'll teleport.
[02:39:02] Speaker A: Not representative of an omniscient voice here. I'm just trying to give you all the resources from your allies. What's up? Later.
[02:39:07] Speaker C: All right, question. If I'm going back to the opalescent tome, why would I need the tree stick?
[02:39:14] Speaker B: Because I'm gonna teleport. Circle there and you're gonna just walk to the opalescent home and then you're gonna tree us all there.
[02:39:22] Speaker A: So we can't get back until tomorrow.
[02:39:24] Speaker B: Yeah.
[02:39:25] Speaker C: You said K can teleport us.
[02:39:28] Speaker A: K could also try to teleport you. That's.
[02:39:30] Speaker B: But she's gonna have to try because.
[02:39:31] Speaker C: She hasn't been on so the tree sticks more reliable. I. Okay, Got it, got it, got it.
[02:39:35] Speaker B: No, wait.
[02:39:35] Speaker C: Sounds like a plan. I'm all good.
[02:39:37] Speaker B: Has.
[02:39:38] Speaker D: If boss can tree, why do. Why do Greta and Ro need to go back to.
[02:39:42] Speaker B: That is true.
[02:39:43] Speaker C: That is also true.
[02:39:45] Speaker A: They don't need to.
[02:39:46] Speaker C: Wow. I love planning. So you guys hang tight. Do not come back.
[02:39:54] Speaker A: Well, because also here's. Here's here. Sorry.
[02:39:57] Speaker C: Big strategy time. So much strategy. Love it.
Boz. Going into the opalescent home, I feel like has a higher chance of getting caught than Ro and Greta going there and then getting teleported back. Right. So the trade off is getting back to the ship is more risky. I can get back to the ship anywhere. I can go anywhere to get back to the ship because there's a tree on the ship.
[02:40:18] Speaker D: Why is it risky for boss to go to the opalescent?
[02:40:21] Speaker B: You transform into something else.
[02:40:22] Speaker A: You have to turn into a person to get.
I mean, you guys could bank on Kana. She is a highly skilled arcanist who has done a lot of teleporting.
[02:40:33] Speaker C: And I. I mean, even if y' all get to the ship, like, Kanajay.
[02:40:39] Speaker A: Would be in the seen casually category for your ship because you have a line. You have allowed her to SCRY on you before.
So she is in the scene casually category for teleport with the ship.
[02:40:55] Speaker C: So you'd have a less than a 50% chance of getting there.
[02:40:59] Speaker A: 50? 50.
[02:41:00] Speaker C: Less than 50.
[02:41:03] Speaker A: Yes.
54. 50.
[02:41:06] Speaker C: 54, 46, 40, 47, 53.
[02:41:12] Speaker A: I can't count. And I never learned.
[02:41:16] Speaker B: Okay.
I. I don't think.
I think you could go to the opalescent tome, but if you changed into the proper thing. But if you don't want to, I'll go back and. And I will Ro.
[02:41:36] Speaker C: I.
[02:41:37] Speaker B: If you don't feel comfortable.
[02:41:38] Speaker C: Like, I want to say this very. I want to say this very politely.
I am walking in a disguise that is very quickly going to become known as one of us.
Opalescent tome is not a block away, so there is a large degree of risk of me getting caught.
[02:42:06] Speaker B: I was meaning you go into a different disguise.
[02:42:11] Speaker C: I don't know what disguises are in this ring.
I don't know if there's another human option or if they're all just different cubes of jelly.
[02:42:19] Speaker B: Okay.
Wow.
[02:42:24] Speaker A: I'm not calling either idea. The ring could totally work. I just. My mind just smash cut to a pile of many doritos trying to walk into the opales. That's all.
[02:42:35] Speaker B: Okay, well, I guess I. I Guess I'll.
[02:42:38] Speaker C: All right, let me try the ring for a few minutes and let's see what happens. Okay, I'm gonna try the ring.
[02:42:41] Speaker B: Let's see what you turn into.
[02:42:43] Speaker C: This.
[02:42:43] Speaker A: Do you have a mirror what I wanted to have? Yes.
[02:42:45] Speaker B: Do you have a mirror?
[02:42:46] Speaker A: Roll me. Roll me a D25 times and tell me one by one what each result is.
[02:42:53] Speaker C: Okay, Nice.
[02:42:55] Speaker A: Okay, so boss turns from Bobbin into.
[02:42:59] Speaker C: 25 times. I2. So another. Another cube. No, that's just the same person. That's the same person.
[02:43:06] Speaker A: No, no, you turn into a different vagabond. Yeah, this item's great. Yeah, so you turn into. You turn into just like a, like a little halfling guy who looks like he's been on a three day bender.
[02:43:20] Speaker C: I want to be missing a tooth.
[02:43:24] Speaker A: Okay, you're missing a tooth.
[02:43:26] Speaker C: All right, I do that.
I call him back and say, all right, we're all good.
[02:43:34] Speaker B: Wait, what. What are.
[02:43:35] Speaker C: What are you, 40? Okay, I turned into a different vagabond. So I'll just walk over to the opalescent tome and hopefully I don't get snatched up. If you don't hear from me in 30 minutes, it means that I've been kidnapped by the Kafkins and it's been nice.
[02:43:52] Speaker B: Please don't say that to me, boss.
[02:43:54] Speaker A: Boss, could you make a strategy check for me?
[02:43:57] Speaker B: Yeah, boss, I'm gonna blood oath you that I will.
[02:44:00] Speaker C: I got a four, mind you.
[02:44:03] Speaker A: Oh.
[02:44:06] Speaker B: I have a certain set of skills. Balls. And if someone takes you, I will find you and.

No, roll 100 for me.
[02:44:21] Speaker C: I got a 53.
[02:44:24] Speaker A: Okay, great.
[02:44:25] Speaker C: If I was Kanajay, I would have just missed the boat.
[02:44:28] Speaker A: That's true.
What a good tie in. What a good tie in. Pause.
Three hours later, you have walked to the opalescent tome and you open the door, and as. As you open the door and close it behind you, Morgrim goes, oh, no. And then Kanajay goes, do you have any spare change?
I think that's.
[02:44:48] Speaker C: I'm looking for a cigarette.
[02:44:52] Speaker A: Okay. With your. Your boss, right?

[02:45:05] Speaker C: She turned, so she. Okay, so we're walking. We're not just standing there, we're walking towards it.
[02:45:09] Speaker A: Craig walks. Craig. Craig has entered the room also. And he goes, look, I'm just saying, in a certain light, Saen has To be beautiful to somebody. And Kanager goes, well, I have this. And she's holding up this staff that has a bunch of leaves growing out of the top. And she goes, this is going to be a lot of mending. And she lifts the staff up and puts it down on the floor. And this is an item from the DM's guide that she has in her shop. And the staff lands on the floor of the shop and the roots just break all the wood. And she goes.
And then the staff grows into a small tree.
It's like branches are super pushed up against the ceiling. And she goes, it's okay, I can fix it. And there's a tree in the shop.
[02:46:05] Speaker C: Before we leave. Micah's not here. Did everybody get all their shopping done? Did everybody get everything?
[02:46:10] Speaker A: She did. Micah shopped like crazy.
At one point, Micah had 29,000 gold.
[02:46:19] Speaker C: Can I, can I get that necklace real quick before we leave?
