Episode Transcript
[00:00:03] Speaker A: This is your Sword of Dungeons and Dragons podcast.
I just stole the show from here, Zach.
I just saw the show. And this is your accidental Adventures where we'd make. Make accidents and we also adventure and you get to decide what accident it is, what kind.
And I.
[00:00:26] Speaker B: It's been an accident this whole time. I thought it was pronounced accent accent.
[00:00:33] Speaker A: Accidental. Accidental adventures.
Anyways, we are coming right back to you if you can hit that subscribe button.
[00:00:43] Speaker C: Share with your friends my videos. Every single time I post.
[00:00:53] Speaker B: We're clearly a really.
We're in a bad targeted. Let's play some D and D.
No.
Oh, okay.
[00:01:03] Speaker D: No.
Oh, I can do it too.
[00:01:07] Speaker A: I already did it.
[00:01:10] Speaker B: Oh, Jackie, yours didn't come up, and that's heartbreaking. Oh, Jackie cracked a Red Bull, but I didn't pick up Celsius.
[00:01:21] Speaker A: She's like, I have can.
[00:01:28] Speaker B: Sponsored by aluminum, but.
[00:01:32] Speaker C: Aluminium.
[00:01:33] Speaker D: Aluminium.
[00:01:35] Speaker B: That's how Bella Andre would say it.
[00:01:37] Speaker D: Of course.
[00:01:38] Speaker B: So the letter question for today's episode was if you're. You guys probably recently on a wanted poster and recently gave people another reason to put you on a wanted poster. If your character had a wanted poster that they put up around the world, who would be on their wanted poster? Oh, and. Oh, my God.
[00:02:01] Speaker D: I want.
[00:02:03] Speaker B: Oh, you know.
[00:02:03] Speaker D: Wait, did you say There has to be a reason why the one.
[00:02:06] Speaker E: Okay, I have. I have a suggestion for dmnpc.
[00:02:10] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:02:11] Speaker E: But I want. I want to present this formally to the court.
Zorgrim. I want to know what Zor. Who Zogram would put on a wanted poster.
[00:02:18] Speaker D: I kind of do, too.
[00:02:20] Speaker E: Like, if this guy was going around the world putting a wanted poster up, I want to know who it would.
[00:02:26] Speaker C: Be for one person.
[00:02:28] Speaker E: One person.
[00:02:30] Speaker B: Oh, okay. Okay. You know what? I thought of this question as multiples, but now I like the idea. I like the idea of it being one. You can put one. I love that. Who's your one person you wanted poster? Okay, Zorgo it is.
[00:02:43] Speaker C: Does it have to be, like, can I, like, say, like, can I put up a wanted poster? But it's like, help wanted.
[00:02:53] Speaker E: Instructions unclear. Hired fincer.
[00:02:56] Speaker C: I want them to be very nice to the person. Like, I don't want them.
[00:03:01] Speaker B: Oh, a wanted poster. Not for, like, a bounty or someone you want harmed or brought in, but. But for someone you wish well to.
[00:03:08] Speaker A: Like you want them.
[00:03:09] Speaker E: I put those up.
[00:03:10] Speaker C: Like, I want to hang out with.
[00:03:11] Speaker B: Everybody knows those. Yeah.
I. This is. I think this is the most, like, this is so this, like, where I'm like, okay, so my, like, the Letter question is what if. If your character had a car, what kind of car would it be? And then someone was like can my car be a house? And it's a house someone else has and they're actually not having them selling it.
The house is a fridge and I'm so sure.
Yeah. So who is Greta's not wanted poster for?
[00:03:41] Speaker C: I think this is much more like early campaign Greta but I think Nick T.
I don't think so much anymore. But I think early Greta would have put up wanted posters for Nick T. But she would have just wanted just to hang out.
[00:03:58] Speaker B: Yeah, a hangout poster.
[00:04:00] Speaker A: You know I like to.
[00:04:02] Speaker B: I haven't seen Jack in a while.
[00:04:03] Speaker A: I put a poster, I like to think on the bottom of it. It goes big bounty and big hugs for like the reward.
[00:04:15] Speaker B: I cannot lie.
Okay, what. What's Kriegs?
[00:04:24] Speaker A: I'd like to think. Okay, two things come to mind.
Wanted self love and wanted picture of rock.
Oh yeah that.
[00:04:38] Speaker B: But which is crazy because by putting up a wanted poster Craig has a picture of by I mean.
[00:04:46] Speaker A: But like he doesn't know what it looks like. So it's like rock with question mark inside of it and then like description of what it is.
[00:04:53] Speaker C: Like a silhouette.
[00:04:55] Speaker A: Yeah. Like mystery rock found and bring to me.
And it is the rock that he will eat.
[00:05:06] Speaker B: Okay. Okay.
We have all.
Everyone here firmly grasped the prompt. The prompt Jekyll what's. What's. Who's on Rose wanted poster.
[00:05:16] Speaker D: I got two. So I got the. The one that she. She. She. She's wanted for non evil reasons and that's wanted looking for kings.
Wanted king.
[00:05:33] Speaker B: Anytime Rose on. On like a media app and those ads come up for single kings in your area. Works on her every time her information.
[00:05:43] Speaker D: Is getting stolen all the time.
[00:05:48] Speaker B: Jackie. That's a good joke. Every time the prince of Nigeria rings up she sends money.
[00:05:54] Speaker D: And then.
And then her wanted for like most hated. Like wants to hunt down and get this person or needs them.
Yeah. Like a normal one in poster would be biscuit like immediately came to mind. I was like biscuit. She wants his head on a stick.
[00:06:14] Speaker A: I'd like to think of madam me score too like for a wanted poster like just to have that chapter.
[00:06:21] Speaker D: Oh, like who she would.
[00:06:24] Speaker A: No no, like who Craig would want.
[00:06:28] Speaker D: Oh, madam would be pissed though. She'd be like didn't she haunt your dreams? She'd be like why you put me on a wanted poster?
[00:06:37] Speaker E: I think she'd be endeared actually. I think she would think it would be very cute.
[00:06:41] Speaker A: Answer I think would be Madam Discord.
[00:06:46] Speaker E: I think any, any actions of malice. She would kind of treat I feel like like Emperor Palpatine would. That's who I imagine her like you'd be like, oh yes, look, the anger fester. Let it, let it reverberate.
[00:06:58] Speaker D: That's how I turned Emperor Palpatine would be like, yeah, if those two could, could comprehend star cross love, that would, that would be.
[00:07:12] Speaker E: I do ship that.
[00:07:16] Speaker B: Hashtag who's, who's, who's.
[00:07:27] Speaker E: Oh my gosh. Bosses would be good Charlotte for sure because she's a jerk.
[00:07:32] Speaker B: Oh true. She's the worst.
[00:07:36] Speaker D: For a good one second, I pictured.
[00:07:37] Speaker B: The band such a brief time in this campaign and still so terrible. Like I just that that's one of the few characters I've had trouble playing like I was playing.
[00:07:50] Speaker E: I really hope one day, I hope one day she needs something from the fun guys so that Boz can treat her with the most pure kindness that she's ever experienced.
[00:08:00] Speaker B: R. Petty revenge.
[00:08:01] Speaker E: No, no, not petty revenge. Like genuine kindness and love.
[00:08:08] Speaker A: Yeah, you get her.
[00:08:10] Speaker B: Tell her petty.
Who would be on Zorgrim's wanted poster? I think on Zorgrim's wanted poster, Zachary Patton, dm.
I think on Zorgo's wanted poster it'd probably be either Yahala or Pelor. Probably Pelor. Oh, hello. Or Yahala would probably the first on his wanted poster.
[00:08:38] Speaker E: The first DND podcast I ever listened to was the first season of NADpod. And Pelor plays a very big role in that season.
[00:08:45] Speaker B: He plays a big role in most D and D campaigns. I mean he's a very central deity they always had.
[00:08:51] Speaker E: He was the centric deity for one of the player characters, Paladin, you know, Faith. And he was always pictured as being like a jolly Santa Claus looking guy and a swim trunk surfing on a beach with like a sun and a beach ball. Like that's what he. They always had him like doing that. Like whenever he cast a spell they'd see visages of a very like a large old man, jolly looking with a beach ball surfing in Hawaii. And that's what I imagine.
[00:09:18] Speaker D: Hello as now actually they talked about that when I saw them live.
[00:09:22] Speaker E: Yeah.
[00:09:22] Speaker B: So yes, that's pretty sick.
In critical role. He doesn't have a head. He's like a suit of armor and his head is blazing light.
[00:09:33] Speaker E: I love that.
[00:09:34] Speaker B: Like sun and light and justice and wrath. But anyways, we have an open thing. So yeah, I think, I think Zorgon would probably have him or. Oh, no, take that back. Take that back. Zorgon would have Yakala or Tiamat on his wanted poster because he freaking hates Tiamat. He hates Tiamat more than anyone hates Tiamat.
[00:09:52] Speaker E: I love that. I can't wait to hear all this lore one day, Zachary. We're like 50 years old.
[00:09:56] Speaker B: Those two people, Zorgam and Tiamat never work on Love is Blind. They would hate each other.
[00:10:04] Speaker E: Do all the heads of Tiamat hate him equally or is one like.
[00:10:08] Speaker B: I don't know. That's a great question.
But they. They all hate him and he hates them.
That's interesting.
Are Tiamat's pronouns he, she, or they them?
Anywho, that's a really intricate question that I. We're not exploring here.
So let me pull up my DM note.
[00:10:32] Speaker E: Oh, yeah.
[00:10:32] Speaker B: I have to tell you guys things.
So this is the 144th episode of the Accidental Adventure for the note taking.
And the 144th episode is something you have.
And I don't think anyone will know that reference, but that is. That is totally fair.
Daniel would get it, but he doesn't.
[00:10:53] Speaker D: Why? Does it feel familiar, though?
[00:10:55] Speaker B: No, it doesn't.
[00:10:57] Speaker D: You don't know?
[00:10:58] Speaker B: Not in the way I mean it.
[00:11:01] Speaker D: Why am I feeling like it means something? It has something to do with uig.
No, something you have is the name of it.
[00:11:09] Speaker B: Something you have.
Okay, It's a Project 86 reference. But that's. That's okay. That's okay.
It will make sense by the end of the session. Something.
It's a level 13 adventure. Sorry, I almost said 14. It's not. It's level 13.
And the date is 34. 88. Police butter. See her drone? 20th Top Hap is the day of the week.
Oh, okay.
[00:11:42] Speaker D: I just wanted the listeners to know that we are recording this on Friday the 13th.
[00:11:49] Speaker B: Oh, it is Friday the 13th.
Wow, that went completely over my head. That is gonna make so much sense in a little bit.
[00:11:58] Speaker D: What?
[00:11:58] Speaker E: Zach, I regret to inform you that you must now increase the creepy factor from three to seven for this episode.
[00:12:04] Speaker D: From three to seven? That's a weird number.
[00:12:07] Speaker B: Well, heal.
That's also.
[00:12:12] Speaker E: We have to get tattoos now. Right now. Everybody has to go get a tattoo right now.
[00:12:15] Speaker D: Yeah, but they don't do $13 tattoos anymore. They're all like one thirteen dollar tattoos.
[00:12:19] Speaker E: In this economy.
[00:12:20] Speaker D: In this economy.
[00:12:22] Speaker B: But, like, can you all hear the music?
[00:12:25] Speaker E: I love it. It's very 13th sounding.
[00:12:27] Speaker B: Oh, you'll get your wish.
[00:12:29] Speaker D: Wait, I have a question. Was everyone here at the end of the last episode? I can't remember was Micah.
[00:12:37] Speaker E: Mike has no idea what happened.
[00:12:39] Speaker D: We need to give her a little.
[00:12:40] Speaker B: Pause the music while we do a recap. Sorry.
[00:12:43] Speaker D: We need to give her a little recap, not throw her into this mess. I feel maybe I kind of forget.
[00:12:49] Speaker E: How did she get back?
[00:12:50] Speaker A: Last thing I remember is not what I would actually is, like, where we're, like, starting off at.
[00:12:56] Speaker B: Mm.
[00:12:57] Speaker A: I'm like, yeah.
[00:12:59] Speaker E: I'm actually really just.
[00:13:02] Speaker B: Well, basically, the fun guys.
[00:13:04] Speaker A: We have such be rooms.
[00:13:07] Speaker B: The fun guys were in. Oh, my goodness. That's where you left off. Yeah, the fun guys were in Home Cove. And you guys were like, ah, yada, yada, yada, doing my thing. And you guys wrapped up your business in the opalescent home. And everybody did their shopping and Boz bought a bunch of stuff at the end. And everybody was like, this is really cool and it's fun. Wow, Landon's having fun.
And then they were like, we want to go visit.
I think you guys were headed to go see Tesha. Anyway, they disguised themselves like pirates and then they walked.
[00:13:36] Speaker D: We were going to see.
[00:13:37] Speaker E: We were great pirates, too. Oz had a really great pirate accent, or at least he thought he did.
[00:13:41] Speaker B: Yes. They looked like. They looked like parrot pirates. And they were going to see a guy selling stuff advert and they found him and they bought some things and to go along, Greta turned her. Greta was turned into a cockroach, and she was sitting inside of Ro's cloak. And then once they bought the things, Greta was like, I'm gonna go somewhere. And then she ran out of the coat and then into a very busy street, which we were talking about the whole time. This is no shame. I mean, it's just the context. And then we rolled a die and it didn't go good. And Greta got stepped on. So then she turned into Greta in the street, and everyone was like, that cockroach turned into a lady. And then everybody turned around and was like, holy crap, that's Greta Smallstar, the super famous adventurer. And then a crowd started to form, and some Kefkan guards were like, what's up with that? So they started to walk over, and then the party was like, oh, gotta get out of here. So then Boz just stayed disguised and left.
Ro and Greta ran into a butcher shop where they started to get cornered by fans who were, like, attracting guards. So then Ro was like, teleport. And then they left and. And went back to the ship. And then Boz went back to Theopolis. Point of order.
[00:14:49] Speaker E: Boz did not leave until he Realized Rowan. Greta did. I did not abandon them at the butcher shop, Mike.
[00:14:53] Speaker B: Oh, yes, I said that very. Yeah, yeah, Sorry. Sorry. That came out in the wrong order. Boss was very much in it until they were gone, and then he. Yeah, sorry. Did not mean to paint him like the villain.
[00:15:03] Speaker D: Boss stayed disguised. Well, so did Roe, but then people kind of figured it out.
[00:15:08] Speaker B: Then you guys got back to the tome, and then I forget. It was treeside the next day or. Yes. Yeah.
K has a. What is it? Like, a tree staff. It's in the D. It's in the dungeon master's guide. It's a staff that can turn into a tree. And Baz Tree strided through that back to the ship. So now everybody's back on the ship.
[00:15:33] Speaker A: Okay, so we were not caught by Kafkins. I mean, we're seeing. We were spotted, which is not good.
But, like, you have very much left.
[00:15:42] Speaker B: Home Cove behind, and the Kefkins know you were there for a time, but you've ramped up most of your business there. You left. You're back on the ship.
[00:15:50] Speaker E: Also, something I just realized.
I don't know what kind of Kefkin propaganda is going on, but, like, everybody that saw Greta was like, please don't kill me. Please don't hurt me. I'm sure you're so. They were like, please don't hurt me. Like, over and over again. So, like, they think we're bad.
[00:16:07] Speaker D: They were like, what are you. They were, like, excited. They were like, help us.
[00:16:10] Speaker B: The guy who stepped on the roach was like, oh, my goodness. I'm so sorry. Please don't hurt me.
[00:16:14] Speaker E: Okay?
[00:16:14] Speaker B: And then everyone else was like, oh, my goodness. You're the fun guys. And got really excited and kept saying okay.
[00:16:19] Speaker D: Like, they were like, I misread it then.
[00:16:20] Speaker E: Sorry, sorry, my bad, my bad. I thought a couple people were saying, please don't hurt me.
[00:16:24] Speaker B: It's also been a week.
[00:16:25] Speaker A: It was Craig. He was really confused.
[00:16:29] Speaker B: Well, this is a different session, and, oh, how different it is.
It's so wild that It's Friday the 13th. This is fascinating.
[00:16:38] Speaker D: I don't like.
[00:16:41] Speaker B: You'Re on the poor bet. Why did this when you left? It's the 20th and it's the next day. Yes, Jackie.
[00:16:47] Speaker D: I was just. I couldn't remember. Did Kanajay come to the ship? No, no, no, no, no, no.
[00:16:53] Speaker B: We've all had a long rest, so if anyone needs to refresh abilities. Beautiful.
Everyone's had a long rest, and it is the night.
[00:17:03] Speaker D: The night.
[00:17:04] Speaker B: It is the night. And you all Are in your bunks. You are sleeping. It is the night of when you all returned. So there's not really any magnificent mansion. You know, people had to go to sleep in their bunks because that was expended. But that's okay. Could be used later.
[00:17:22] Speaker D: Makes sense.
[00:17:23] Speaker B: And everyone is asleep.
That is what is happening.
[00:17:32] Speaker E: The boss is trying to contact the moon maiden. I don't know what you're talking about.
[00:17:36] Speaker D: The moon maiden?
[00:17:38] Speaker B: Yeah, that's.
[00:17:39] Speaker D: That's Rose. God.
[00:17:42] Speaker B: Well, and so before we get lost in that. Sorry.
People are in their bunks and they are asleep.
Give me. Well, we'll come to that in a moment.
Greta and Ro.
[00:17:58] Speaker C: He's not here.
[00:17:59] Speaker B: 20. Passive perceptions.
[00:18:00] Speaker C: I hear he's in a meeting.
[00:18:02] Speaker A: She's not here.
[00:18:03] Speaker C: She's not here.
Actually, she's out for lunch.
[00:18:07] Speaker B: I'm gonna open something.
Nobody open it. Like something's gonna happen. Don't look at it.
[00:18:14] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:18:22] Speaker A: Don't let it be the shirt there.
[00:18:26] Speaker D: Oh, he just opens. He just open. Rips his shirt open and it's a new shirt.
[00:18:31] Speaker C: Don't look at it.
[00:18:32] Speaker D: It's the boss shirt.
He had it on all along under his clothes.
[00:18:44] Speaker B: What do I have for these first checks of the session?
[00:18:46] Speaker D: Just perception.
[00:18:47] Speaker B: Right?
[00:18:47] Speaker C: Wait, I'm sorry. I didn't even.
[00:18:49] Speaker B: Oh, I'm so sorry. Perception at disadvantage. You guys are asleep.
[00:18:55] Speaker A: Sleep with one eye.
They always tell you.
[00:18:59] Speaker C: He's on lunch. He's literally awake.
[00:19:01] Speaker D: He's got a nat 20, but I can't use it.
[00:19:07] Speaker B: Oh, that sucks. That's unfortunate.
[00:19:09] Speaker D: Can we count that towards anything? No.
[00:19:11] Speaker B: Oh, no.
[00:19:13] Speaker D: Okay. Well, if it had been normal, it would have been a 32. But since it's not that, it's gonna be May, it's gonna be a 17.
[00:19:28] Speaker E: Exact.
[00:19:29] Speaker D: That's a disadvantage. I rolled a five.
[00:19:32] Speaker E: I. Okay. I don't know what's gonna happen, but I want to tell you something that boss has been wanting to do in the poor bet for a bit.
I don't know if it's gonna help or anything, but.
[00:19:44] Speaker B: He.
[00:19:45] Speaker E: I want it to be kind of like known that if he has a six level spell slot available and you're. We're long resting on the poor bet. He wants to. He's going to cast Druid Grove on the tree inside the poor bet when they go to sleep.
And I thought, what, you have the room for that?
It just is on the tree.
[00:20:07] Speaker B: You don't need a group of trees. It's one single tree.
[00:20:10] Speaker E: No, you can have up to three, but there's Branches and stuff that Nam sleeps on it, doesn't it? Well, here I don't think it hinges on the tree. You don't even have to have any.
But it basically takes any plant life that exists in an area and exemplifies it. Let me find out the exact stuff, but I was meaning it more of like to give the tree kind of like some. More like if someone reaches up to grab something or if Nam needs to get up, it'll like reach down and help scoop her up and stuff. And there's like a light fog and like the stuff sounds of like wildlife that, you know, like something that feels like a druid grove to help lull people to sleep. Basically like ambiance on the ship.
[00:20:50] Speaker B: The area can be as small as a 30 foot cube.
You do not have a 30 foot cube in the bottom of the fort bed.
[00:20:58] Speaker E: Okay, well, could he do it for flavor and not for.
[00:21:05] Speaker B: Let's.
[00:21:08] Speaker E: We'll talk about it later.
[00:21:08] Speaker B: Let's circle back to it. Let's circle back.
[00:21:10] Speaker E: Okay.
[00:21:12] Speaker B: Not trying to. Not trying to funky.
[00:21:14] Speaker E: No, no, no. That makes sense. It makes sense.
[00:21:17] Speaker B: Okay, and then what did you get rid of?
[00:21:19] Speaker C: I got a dirty 20 at disadvantage.
I rolled a 15.
[00:21:26] Speaker B: Are really immune to bad rules. It's crazy.
So that's. Everybody else just fails in comparison.
Ah, the stat monkeys. Okay, so you all have your passive perceptions while sleeping. Ten are high enough to make this check.
So you all fully asleep are both suddenly awoken.
Not like, oh my. Gonna startle the week awake. Just like you're both kind of roused and you're in that liminal state of like, just kind of waking up.
And it's because you hear commotion.
[00:22:11] Speaker D: Commotion.
[00:22:12] Speaker B: You hear like the sound of like, thuds and like dragging and what sounds like metal on metal.
Now, you are not hearing this before something. Something happens. You are hearing this as something happening.
Because what is happening is that you all are just like swaying your bum. Yeah.
[00:22:40] Speaker D: Oh, I was saying, is the noise coming from above? Like, can we tell?
[00:22:44] Speaker B: It's absolutely. Okay, you guys are. This is very hard to discern. You know, I'm coming out of nowhere with this very much. You all are in the lower deck of the poor bet Roe underneath Boz's bunk in your like, little root bed.
Boz in your bunk.
Greta across the way in yours. Hey, Zach.
[00:23:05] Speaker E: Zach.
[00:23:05] Speaker B: Yeah, what's up, bud? Or may I say bud? Sorry, that was teacher coming out.
[00:23:10] Speaker E: I need. I want to approach something.
Boz has a. Boz is long rested, so he would typically have the opportunity to redo spells and stuff at the end of that. He right now has a really niche selection of like stone spells for the sea.
He would have re, like, I would not be starting a long rest with the same spells, but I don't want to, like, I don't know, I'd like to choose what you're saying, find out what happened.
[00:23:42] Speaker B: You're saying I wouldn't have ocean spells.
[00:23:44] Speaker E: Exactly. Like, I wouldn't know what's happening, but I wouldn't have ocean spells.
[00:23:47] Speaker B: If you want to make some really quick reselections, I'm fine with that.
[00:23:50] Speaker E: Yeah, real quick.
[00:23:51] Speaker B: Okay. I trust you. I trust you guys.
I trust you not to metagame. So anywho, noises coming from up above. You and Greta are not shocked to sudden awakeness, but kind of coming awake. You are. You are rousing to wokefulness as there is a sudden sound in motion.
It is, I love it, kaching.
And the door above you, the hinged door swings open the trapdoor very violently and suddenly. And you're really the only two to perceive it very momentarily. Other people will be awoken, but in this moment, the only two really perceptive enough to be woke, roused from sleep before it even transpires are the two who could hear the muffled noise through the deck. And as you and Greta kind of sit up in your bunks and you're confused, confused, the door flies open, a noise that begins to wake everyone else. And thudding to the floor next to you is a creature, you know, well, it is about a four foot, four and a half foot tall purple fish person in heavy like sort of studded strapped armor. And they have this spear in their hands, this vicious sort of like dark purple tuna like look and broad eyes and just slamming into the floor. And the moment the door opens, there's much more noise. You can hear shouting and swords, something that sounds like a spell going off. And one of them just shouts using the mon mandik and jumps, vaults across the deck and is going to. This is their turn on a surprise round.
Things are bad.
They did very well on. On stealths and whatnot.
It is going to jump across the way and take an attack at Craig who is only just now awaking.
And also the noise gives him enough of a chance that he has, you know, something here.
[00:25:56] Speaker D: So they're down with us now.
[00:25:58] Speaker B: Yeah, one just entered the lower hold.
[00:25:59] Speaker D: Just one.
[00:26:01] Speaker B: Do we know the other one on the same turn jumping down the stairs behind it of the same make you guys remember these as kuo toa crushers. Big, muscly, thick Kuo Toa's is going to turn around and take an attack at.
Gonna run around this way and take an attack at Greta.
The one at Craig is at advantage. The one at Greta is not. She has woken up. Everyone is very much awoken. And right after this happens, everyone will roll. Initiative.
Holy crap, Micah. I completely forgot about that. Remind me, what is your protection feat?
[00:26:38] Speaker A: So when a creature I can see attacks a target other than me that is within five feet of me, I can use my reaction to impose disadvantage on the attack roll. And I'm. Oh, I have to be wielding a weapon.
[00:26:52] Speaker B: Yes.
And very importantly, first of all, Micah, that's slick. Way to know your stuff.
Why don't I clarify the situation a little bit?
[00:27:04] Speaker D: One more question. I'm sorry for all the questions.
[00:27:08] Speaker B: And in full tilt, when it's on its side, no one knows.
[00:27:12] Speaker D: Wait, what?
What did you say?
[00:27:17] Speaker B: The discord starting at a side angle. No matter if I have it.
[00:27:21] Speaker D: I. I thought you said the boat was at a tilted angle.
[00:27:25] Speaker A: And why is it a side?
[00:27:28] Speaker B: This is not the level of artistry you guys are accustomed to. I apologize. I had to do it in a bit of a crunch.
But this is the lower deck of the poor bet. These are the rings where you guys have holdings on the side. This is where Spaghra sleeps. These are each of your bunks. I didn't get to draw them in total detail. Also, the tree should kind of be over here, but this is where we're going to put it for now, because it's. It spatially makes sense. It's what I've got access to. I'm gonna. I'm gonna answer questions in just a second.
These figures are next to each other. They're kind of on top of each other, but I can't represent that. So sleeping on the upper bunk is Boz. On the lower is Ro. This is Craig. This is Ploth.
Green for Greta, yellow for Tello. Greta's actually underneath. Yada, yada.
That's where we are.
Do we have questions before we make some rolls? Yes. What's up?
[00:28:15] Speaker D: Jackie does Ro, as she's waking up and all this is happening, does she remember who was at the helm when they went to sleep?
[00:28:23] Speaker B: Give me. Give me a history check at the most disadvantage you possibly could as you're woken up to an attack.
[00:28:28] Speaker D: Jackie, Ro has keen mind.
[00:28:31] Speaker B: You know what? That's a really good point. Make it regular. That's true. I feel like should. Should.
[00:28:37] Speaker A: But remember all things I said.
[00:28:39] Speaker D: But, Jackie, I mean, Rob, two tens.
[00:28:42] Speaker B: On the advantage attack against Craig.
[00:28:44] Speaker D: That's a 15.
[00:28:46] Speaker B: 15. Yes. You remember Spaghuber was at the helm.
No.
Okay, so two tens. What's our modifier here? That is a 15 total to hit. Now, Craig, here's the thing.
What's your dex modifier?
[00:29:06] Speaker A: My Dex modifier is plus one.
[00:29:11] Speaker B: Your D, your AC right now is 11.
Because remember, you didn't sleep. You don't sleep in your armor.
So your AC is 11 right now.
So two 15s. This will hit.
So you take the line between six points of piercing damage. Oh, two attacks. That was silly of me.
What a goob. What a stinky goob, guys. Friday the 13th. Let's do this.
Oh, the second one only hits with an 11. That was.
So you take six points of piercing, plus nine points of piercing. 15 total points of piercing. As Craig, sleeping in your bunk, the Kuo toa crusher just rushes over to you. The noise and commotion suddenly waking you up.
Then as you sit up in your bunk and it sways, a spear comes overhead and just stabs down at you.
You grab it a little bit, and your strength helps repel it. But even with the amount of distance, you can break the momentum a little bit. This tip of the spear just into your chest, the sort of wound which would just be immediately fatal to someone who didn't have two inches of pain.
But as your chest catches part of it and your hands, the rest, you, like, shove off the spear and you are suddenly awake and having been stabbed. Greta, your AC.
You can have your cloak. So you're fine. Your AC is your 18.
[00:30:40] Speaker C: I'm a 19.
[00:30:42] Speaker B: This is an 18 to hit. What does it look like as a kuo toa with a spear does not hit you?
[00:30:51] Speaker C: We'll say that gears thing of, like, non and like, as.
Can I say that he likes staggered.
Yeah.
[00:31:02] Speaker B: Like, hits you with the spear? Absolutely.
[00:31:04] Speaker C: Well, he, like. Like, just, like, rolls out of them, like, not gracefully.
[00:31:09] Speaker B: Oh, sick. Yeah. Also, this is the tiniest thing in the world. Could you tilt your camera down a little bit? I'm only seeing, like, just your, like, mouth up.
[00:31:15] Speaker C: I know. I kind of like it.
[00:31:16] Speaker B: Okay, never mind. Understood? Yes, ma' am.
So as the spear comes down and you, Greta, you just very suddenly, like, wake up and roll out of the way, hitting tello or. No, you're. You're under him. Sorry. As you roll out of the way, the spear into the floorboard.
[00:31:29] Speaker C: Can I. I just.
I was gonna say. I want to, like, yell really loud. Like.
[00:31:35] Speaker B: Absolutely, you yell.
Everyone is definitely Awake. Why don't we roll some initiatives?
[00:31:41] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:31:44] Speaker B: Oh.
[00:31:50] Speaker D: That'S a good sounding role.
[00:31:52] Speaker B: I got a dirty, dirty 20 for Greta. Hold on to yours for a second, because I need to handle some other initiatives.
That's not good.
They're rolling real good.
[00:32:08] Speaker A: There it is.
[00:32:09] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:32:18] Speaker A: Oh, my gosh. I know we say it every time, but initiative is.
Oh, shoot.
[00:32:25] Speaker B: That's okay.
[00:32:26] Speaker C: Literally, just like today right now clicked in my head. Why it's dexterity. Because it's like. It's how fast you can move. It's how fast you can. Like, that's why it's dexterity.
[00:32:40] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:32:40] Speaker C: Well, it's like, how.
[00:32:41] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, totally.
Okay, so 17.
This. There are so many pieces to this combat. Bear with me. O. Pl rolled real high.
Goober did not. Okay, so 20 to 25.
[00:33:05] Speaker D: I'm just gonna be an honest player here. And just a little bit of your book is showing on the. I can't read it. If I blew it up, I might could.
[00:33:15] Speaker B: That is really sweet, Jackie. It's just the color tiles that Cora wanted people. But I.
[00:33:22] Speaker A: Seriously.
[00:33:23] Speaker D: But I didn't know if you were worried about it.
[00:33:24] Speaker B: No, no. And see, that's teacher. You forgot the homework in the best way.
[00:33:28] Speaker A: Thank you.
I was snooping. I'm just kidding.
[00:33:33] Speaker B: For that honesty, please take inspiration, Jackie, if you don't have it.
So 20 to 25. Who got within 20 or 25?
No one. Maybe. Maybe not even Greta who rolled those just then.
[00:33:48] Speaker D: Sorry.
[00:33:50] Speaker C: Yeah, sorry.
[00:33:51] Speaker B: Okay, so Tello with 22 is at the top. Top.
And then P.L. rolled. Amazing.
She got a 21. P.L. and then Greta got a 20.
Who's in the 15 to 19 range?
Boss. What you get?
[00:34:16] Speaker E: I got a 15.
[00:34:17] Speaker B: Okay, so that means that it's Bill free up next with his.
Oh, no, shoot that.
Then it's Bill free then.
And it's gonna be boss.
Okay, excellent.
Then let's see.
That's them.
Okay, what did Craig and Ro get? Oh, my goodness. Words.
Oh, hey.
[00:35:12] Speaker D: Go low roller.
Yay.
[00:35:18] Speaker B: Okay, so now top of initiative. Tello has just woken up. What is he doing?
[00:35:26] Speaker D: Sorry.
[00:35:26] Speaker C: That's me. I'm Tello.
[00:35:28] Speaker B: Oh, also sorry.
Everyone's acs except for Greta are just them and items. So nobody has armor right now?
[00:35:40] Speaker C: Them and items.
[00:35:41] Speaker B: So, like. Like, if you have, like, bracers of dexterity or something, you know, or bracers of defense, those count. But, like, nobody's wearing, like, like, armor right now as they sleep.
[00:35:51] Speaker D: Would I. I'm. This is a Val. Like, this is I'm.
[00:35:54] Speaker B: Which is 10 plus decks, by the way.
[00:35:55] Speaker D: Sorry, I. Is my armor comfortable? Like, would I sleep in it? Because I can change it up the way it looks, or would I not?
[00:36:05] Speaker B: Let me check on that. I think sleeping in armor is exhaustion no matter what, but let me check.
[00:36:09] Speaker D: Okay. Because I didn't know if that. If my glamour said armor, since I could change the look, but I didn't know.
[00:36:17] Speaker B: I mean, it didn't change the material, but that's true. What's Tello doing?
[00:36:23] Speaker C: Tello is going to jump out of bed. That, you know, well, he's gonna grab his rapier before he out of it, and he's going to do, like, a jumping attack on the person.
Actually, can I take that back?
[00:36:45] Speaker B: Sure.
[00:36:47] Speaker C: Hello.
[00:36:47] Speaker B: Isn't it bunking?
Yeah, he's on the. He's right above you. So you're, like, here on the floor. He's above you in the hammock, just waking up.
[00:36:56] Speaker C: Okay. He's in a hand.
Okay.
He's going to try to do, like a.
That bad?
[00:37:14] Speaker B: No, I just didn't hear any of what you said. Oh, excuse me. Sleeping in light armor. Light armor does not cause exhaust exhaustion. So Rogue, your studded leather is light armor. And then, Boz, what do you wear leather.
[00:37:27] Speaker E: So I still have mine.
[00:37:28] Speaker B: Yeah. So you and. You and Ro can sleep in your armor. If that's a thing you do understand, why you would. So it's just. Craig. So sorry.
Okay. So, Abby, I just didn't hear you with what Tello did. I think you did something with a sword.
[00:37:42] Speaker C: Yeah, he's gonna take his rapier and jump out of his hammock and try to do it in the.
[00:37:50] Speaker B: Okay, Is he going here or is he staying in the same place?
Like, is he getting onto solid ground on the. This is like the raised middle of the floorboard here. Is he getting here out of the hammock?
[00:38:01] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:38:02] Speaker B: Okay, go ahead and roll the hit. And so he's basically just like the. Kuo Toa stabs down with the spear. Tello just rolls over, grabs the rapier out of the hilt and just, like, does, like a somersault onto the floor and jabs at the guy.
[00:38:23] Speaker C: 15.
[00:38:24] Speaker B: 15. 15 will hit. All for damage. 15 will just hit.
Is.
[00:38:33] Speaker E: Zach, am I next, or can I go grab just a drink real quick? It's downstairs.
[00:38:35] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:38:36] Speaker E: Yeah.
[00:38:36] Speaker B: Please, please, please, please. And thank you guys for rolling with this. I know this is crazy right off the bat, that.
[00:38:42] Speaker A: Can we put in the chat the initiative, or do we not know fully yet for you?
[00:38:49] Speaker C: No.
[00:38:49] Speaker B: Why?
[00:38:50] Speaker D: I kind of have it written down if you want me to attempt.
[00:38:55] Speaker A: Cuz I don't know if the kua.
[00:38:57] Speaker D: To Zach is doing it.
[00:38:59] Speaker C: Oh, got a 12 on damage. He rolled eight.
[00:39:03] Speaker B: Wow. That's awesome. Give me just a second, Micah. I need to, like. I need to focus on this, but I. I can try and type it up in a second. I understand. Twelve. That is excellent.
Okay.
Math. I always forget that I have to do math if I want to dm. Okay, awesome. So Greta as Tello like. Like, grabs the Or Abby is.
[00:39:24] Speaker E: He is.
[00:39:24] Speaker B: He grabs. It's like one fluid motion reaches the hand of his shoulder. And the motion of him pulling the rapier out of its sheath is the same motion where he rolls out of the bunk. And he can be pretty awesome sometimes. And as he rolls with the blade out of the bunk, he, like, rolls over on the floor. And the Kuo toa barely has time to turn its head before he, like, drops down into a lunge, jumps up. And do you guys know what a superman punches?
A superman punches where you jump and you punch someone from above them. He, like, does that with the Ranger.
[00:39:54] Speaker C: That's what I wanted him to do.
[00:39:55] Speaker B: And, like. And as he jabs it, he just punches it right into the gill on the coon to his neck. It's just one little, quick little. But as he does, he's killed a lot of these. That silvery blood splurges out of the wound and he sort of, like, stumbles around for a second. It looks like that hurt him. He looks. He looks a little wounded. Next up in Initiative is someone so.
Okay, don't worry about that. Next up in initiative is you, Greta.
[00:40:31] Speaker C: Okay?
[00:40:33] Speaker B: Initiatives at the end of this, just because there's. There's people you don't know about yet. And I. I'll have a whole list for you in a second.
[00:40:39] Speaker A: Yeah, that's what I was.
[00:40:40] Speaker E: Can I do one thing? Actually, I just need to do one thing. If we can.
Oh, didn't have a crisp.
[00:40:46] Speaker B: I wish that had come up on Mike, man. The crack. It is Friday the 13th.
[00:40:50] Speaker E: It didn't crack. There was no crisp crack. I'll have another one. I'll try again later. I'll try again later.
Hey, but here's the deal. If that one cracks, okay, I have one more can.
[00:40:59] Speaker D: Everything.
[00:41:00] Speaker E: I have one more can. And if this one. If this one does a crisp crack on Mike, boss gets inspiration.
[00:41:07] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:41:08] Speaker C: Okay.
Retta is going to do this thing that I'm going to describe. She is going to be the best.
[00:41:18] Speaker A: Thank you.
[00:41:19] Speaker C: She's going to touch a creature, and that creature must. She's gonna have bestow first on the closest. She's gonna reach out and grab a base.
[00:41:32] Speaker B: That's sick. Is that a saving throw for me or a spell attack for you?
[00:41:36] Speaker C: That is a wisdom saving.
[00:41:41] Speaker B: I love my dice tower, but it's fun rolling it on the map.
Well, I don't mean to ruin your day, but that's a three.
So does that beat your spell save or what's the.
[00:41:52] Speaker C: Yes. Let me figure out which one I want to do.
[00:41:55] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:42:04] Speaker C: Okay. I'm gonna do wild curse. The target must make a win. Some savingdor at the start of its turn. It's fails at waste doing that.
[00:42:12] Speaker B: Man. I just get three quarters of what you say. The target must.
[00:42:18] Speaker C: Wisdom saving throw at the start of each turn. If it fails, it wastes its action and does.
[00:42:26] Speaker B: That's awesome. Okay, understood. It is cursed in that way. I'm going to put a little hexed ring on him. Micah, you said your belt. That storms up damage fraction.
That's a shield. So you can just pick that up on your turn.
[00:42:40] Speaker A: Wait is God. Godspeed.
[00:42:44] Speaker B: Yeah. And also, that one is not a. That one's not a belt either. That's a gorgette. That's like a. Like a. Like that's armor. So.
[00:42:50] Speaker A: Hold on. I misunderstood. Thank you for the clarification.
[00:42:54] Speaker B: I got your back every single time.
Yeah. So that's a shield. You can just pick that shield.
Okay, Greta, that's sick. What does it look like as you just reach up and just bestow a curse on this guy?
[00:43:04] Speaker C: Sorry. She's going to, like, grab his ankles. Like, reach out, grab his ankles, and she's just going to like.
I like, not like.
Like, like text. Like text of curse.
[00:43:20] Speaker B: Oh.
[00:43:22] Speaker C: Like in all. All of the languages, you know, it's just, like, creeping up his body. Like, they. They let appear black and then disappear.
[00:43:29] Speaker B: As if Greta lunges out, grabs his ankles, and as if she's tattooing him with it with her hands. She grabs his ankle, and all this script starts crawling up his legs, and he's like.
And he's like. He's like, trying to punch your hands with the spear as you're, like, grabbing.
[00:43:45] Speaker D: I would like to.
[00:43:46] Speaker C: Can I. Bonus action. Hide under the. Like, in my little.
[00:43:49] Speaker B: If you were a rogue, you totally could. And if there was something to hide there, but there isn't.
You are just below a hammock, and you're not a rogue.
[00:43:57] Speaker C: So gonna be sneaky.
[00:44:00] Speaker B: Totally. Okay, do you want to move or are you Staying there.
[00:44:03] Speaker C: No.
[00:44:07] Speaker E: I. I have a point of order whenever you.
[00:44:09] Speaker B: Yeah, what's up?
[00:44:10] Speaker E: Put that in the queue. Did you do any rolls or anything for Goober to use the dragon whistle we gave him for situations like this.
[00:44:18] Speaker B: I'm just gonna be totally honest. Forgot about that.
Just forgot. Forgot that existed. This is. This is honestly exactly the kind of scenario that it exists for. And had I remembered, would kind of reframe this entire session.
That is an oops. I. That is. I get. I take one point of oops.
[00:44:38] Speaker D: Maybe he didn't have it on him tonight.
[00:44:40] Speaker B: You know what? Since I messed that up, everyone who doesn't have inspiration has inspiration.
[00:44:46] Speaker E: Okay, cool. Because that sounds fair.
[00:44:47] Speaker B: That's pretty big. That I.
My bad.
Any who.
So next is.
[00:44:56] Speaker C: Oh, my gosh.
[00:44:58] Speaker B: Someone.
Yeah. What's up, Roham?
[00:45:00] Speaker C: I just worry about.
[00:45:03] Speaker B: Okay, now it's Bill Free's turn.
Bill Free is very suddenly awoken. His face just erupts into a scowl and he reaches up and grabs the post behind his hammock and just pulls himself so hard, does a horizontal pull up and rolls himself back over the edge of the hammock. Just throws himself off of it. And as he sort of like backward somersaults on the ground, he just picks up the hand axe behind him, the battle axe, right up out of the holster and just swings at the back of the Kuha Toa over here.
And he is going to.
He's gonna make this attack an advantage because this Kuoa is now flanked between him and Tello.
I can't imagine that doesn't hit. What is this?
That? That's a 20. So that will hit.
And so he's gonna deal seven points. Oh, he has. What am I doing? He has two attacks.
Oh, and the second one's a nat 20. That's a crit for Build Free.
So he's gonna deal seven plus.
That's seven plus 12 is 19 plus three is 22 points of slashing damage. Holy cow.
Okay, this Kuo Toa is looking bloodied now, as right after Tello jabs it, it stands up and it lifts the spear again to bash down at Greta. Bill Free does that roll and the Kuo Toa looks over it, concerned. This Kuo Toa was 3 sec was 4 or 5 seconds ago, the sole attacker of sleeping people.
Now it is pinned between three enemies and Bilfri takes two huge hacks and just gouges into its back. He breaks part of its armor, slashing it open, and he actually punches through the muscle over the shoulder blades. The Kuo Toa drops its left arm not being able to hold it correctly. It is covered in blood. It's looking. It's. It's having a bad day. Next up in the initiative is Boss.
What are you doing? Boss?
[00:47:13] Speaker E: So which. Which one is Boz? Can you point?
[00:47:15] Speaker B: Boss is red.
[00:47:17] Speaker E: So he's at the very. Where's the hatch?
[00:47:19] Speaker B: So. Yes. Sorry I didn't explain it super clearly. These. These. This is the ladder right here. So the hatch is up above you right here. So I mean this is.
[00:47:26] Speaker E: Oz is going to go up. He's going to go up.
[00:47:29] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:47:31] Speaker E: He doesn't have a climbing speed though, so maybe we should calculate that out first.
[00:47:36] Speaker B: Well, it's a ladder. I'm not going to reduce your speed.
[00:47:38] Speaker E: I do have my jingly shoes though, so that makes me go fast. So I Boots that jingle jangle. That makes sense.
[00:47:43] Speaker B: And you sleep in them. I love it. So his boss out of his hammock and I just did this way up here. You are going to take an opportunity attack from that Kuo Toa right there.
But brace yourself. It's a seven.
So how do you. How do you. How do you dodge his quick jab with a spear?
[00:48:02] Speaker E: I.
I think Boss is you know, like, like way of drunken fist. Monks are just so like weird. You don't really know what they're doing. I feel like Boss's way of sleepy fist druid right now. And I feel like he's just kind of bumbling and like he. He's not really making sense.
[00:48:19] Speaker B: And as you sort of like you kind of trip and you're like waking up stupid like and the guy, the guy just stabs where you were.
[00:48:26] Speaker E: That's all one fluid movement like fall climb up the ladder.
[00:48:29] Speaker B: And the Kuo Toa for a second just goes.
Just surprised and impressed. As you go up the ladder, you see the rest of the ship.
Zachary.
[00:48:40] Speaker E: I love a cool power map. Zachary. Pat.
[00:48:43] Speaker B: Thank you.
[00:48:44] Speaker E: Let's go.
[00:48:45] Speaker B: Thank you. The rest of the ship is on deck. As you go up the ladder.
[00:48:49] Speaker E: Dm guys, I'll put you.
[00:48:52] Speaker B: What's the best place I could put here? You do not take an opportunity attack. So you come up the ladder and as you get up on the upper deck, there is a Kuo Toa crusher here.
Two Kuo Toa's that you remember from the past when you were boss was gone.
[00:49:08] Speaker E: No.
[00:49:08] Speaker B: You don't know any of these. Okay, so there's a Kuo Toa. Another buff Kuo Toa with a weapon here. Another buff Kuo Toa with a weapon here. Here are two more nimble Kuo Toa which are kind of like dressed sleekly and they have, they have the bonus action hide for instance perchaps there.
Spagoober is at the helm trying to like to start wielding spells. He's got his book out then keeps strapped to his side and. And he's just desperately folding through it, never really having seen a moment or not been conscious for a moment like this before. Desperately trying to uphold the mantle of the hero that he protects. Ploth is fighting with one of those buff ones right here.
Right here. Oh, okay, I didn't mean to flick that with my finger.
[00:49:50] Speaker E: He falls overboard, dies.
[00:49:51] Speaker B: He falls overboard and dies. These two are Kuo Toa. They are dressed like the priests you've seen in the past, but both of them are more heavily adorned.
And right here, this black square, you guys can go to lore and reference and what you see here is that thing.
It looks like a dinosaur crossed with an angler fish.
Huge bipedal like fish reptile with a long sort of eel like tail. There's fringed spines that go down its back. Its mouth is one giant jaw with like a sagging hanging throat like a, like an angler fish. It's two small eyes to either side. It has small tiny arms. And riding on its back, symboled by this gray, gray black stone, is a Kuoa that's like dressed sleekly with like a spear and a longbow. And there are like special tattoos kind of carved into his arms. Riding the creature. That's what you come up to upper deck. What are you doing now, boss?
[00:50:53] Speaker E: Cast conjure animals at time the same seventh level.
[00:50:56] Speaker B: Please, I beg of you. No. And I know that was a joke, but I beg of you.
[00:51:00] Speaker E: No, no, no. Don't worry, it's not gonna be that bad. You only need. You only need two. You just need two tokens. That's it. Just two?
[00:51:05] Speaker B: Is that actually you're really.
[00:51:07] Speaker E: Wait, wait, wait. No baby, three actually.
Let me reread it.
[00:51:10] Speaker B: Oh, that's actually the spell you're down.
[00:51:14] Speaker E: So at seventh level it's three times. Okay, yeah. So seventh level, I need three tokens at two on either side. What's the front of the ship called? Zachary.
[00:51:27] Speaker B: Prowl.
[00:51:28] Speaker E: The Prowl. And what's the bat called?
[00:51:32] Speaker B: Back.
[00:51:34] Speaker D: The back.
[00:51:35] Speaker A: I don't know.
[00:51:37] Speaker E: Okay, well at the, at the front of the ship like there's you slowly see two large plesiosaurus heads rise out of the water and then at the back you See a third and there's at. And so at the two on either side of the front, there's. There's two plesiosaurs right there.
A little bit closer, like in, like in the middle, like closer to like the two dinosaurs. Yeah, right up a little bit. Up a little bit. Sorry. Probably right next to the, to the lower white token, if that makes sense.
No, sorry, Zachary. The other one, the one on the right.
[00:52:17] Speaker B: Oh, here.
[00:52:20] Speaker E: I'm sorry, Zachary, I. This is me.
Yes, that one is in the right spot, but the other one needs to be on the other side. Yes, like mirrored.
Yes, yes, perfect. No, yes, fine, that's good. And then the other one can just be at the very back behind Spaghuber.
[00:52:37] Speaker B: Okay, I don't know where boss saw a plesiosaur, but the Lost Lands are wild place. And I don't want to take this.
[00:52:43] Speaker E: From you because he's a 13th level druid, I'm sure.
[00:52:46] Speaker B: Yeah. You're from the Lost Lands. You saw a plea. They have plesiosaurs in the Lost Lands.
That's crazy.
[00:52:53] Speaker E: Hold their breath for an hour. So they're okay? They're not gonna die.
[00:52:56] Speaker B: That's wild.
Okay, boss, what does it look like is you summon plesiosaurs? What? It. It's. How's. How's that? Tell me about that.
[00:53:06] Speaker E: Boz has a moment where, you know like in the Avengers where like Iron man, like his mask comes on and stuff like that. Boss is a moment where like he says like the sylvan word for defense and like the lightsaber of whatever abrupts and like his like Druid's defense shield comes on and then like, then like there's like a flash of something or the water rumbles and these dinosaur heads come up.
[00:53:30] Speaker B: Okay, so boss runs up deck, Druid's defense grows out. And as he spells cast all these roots like kind of grow up his neck and sort of around him and like, like the sound of the, of the Druid's defense like reverberates like, like thunder. And then as if responding to the call out of the water, three tubed, long jawed, cross toothed plesiosaur heads raise out of the water. That's crazy.
Wow, that's D. D's nuts. I can't believe you chose to put more tokens on this board. At least they go on your initiative.
Is that, that's your old turn, right?
[00:54:10] Speaker E: Yeah. They attack now.
[00:54:12] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:54:16] Speaker E: Yeah.
So there.
[00:54:18] Speaker B: Did you. You wanted this? Did I put this one in the right place?
[00:54:21] Speaker E: It needed to be one sword square higher from what I wanted.
[00:54:25] Speaker B: Higher. Do you mean this way?
[00:54:27] Speaker E: Yes, I do mean that way. Sorry.
[00:54:29] Speaker B: And this one here?
[00:54:30] Speaker E: No, that one was actually in the right spot.
[00:54:32] Speaker B: Okay. Higher. Higher to me is reversed. The camera's backward to me.
[00:54:36] Speaker E: Got it, Got it. Okay. All righty.
So 1. They are large beasts, so I don't know how far they need to move for their neck to be able to attack. But I was wanting the. The one on the left to attack the upper priest and the one on the right to attack the other priest.
[00:54:51] Speaker B: Priest.
[00:54:52] Speaker E: Yes.
[00:54:53] Speaker B: Okay. Sick.
Absolutely. Give me. Give me two attacks.
[00:54:58] Speaker E: So they do.
[00:54:59] Speaker B: I didn't know I was going to be dealing with plesiosaurs this session.
[00:55:03] Speaker E: They have plus six to hit.
Let's hope it works.
That is a 19 on the first attack and a 20.
What was the bonus?
Six. 24 on the second.
[00:55:18] Speaker B: Both will hit.
[00:55:19] Speaker E: All right, so both. Both priests will take an attack. The first one, it is three D. Six plus four. Okay.
That is four. 18 on the upper one.
[00:55:30] Speaker D: Wow.
[00:55:33] Speaker B: And.
[00:55:35] Speaker E: 11 on the lower one. And then the other one is going to go over to the. Is going to swim around to the rogue and take a shot at him. He's gonna.
[00:55:47] Speaker B: You know what? He totally can because he can go under the boat. So there's totally space for that. Okay.
Emerges there. That's sick. How. Imagine being that. That. That Kuo Toa. And just like a Please resort. You're like, oh. And then the head goes down. You're like, oh. And then as it comes out up to the other side.
[00:56:05] Speaker E: He rolled. He rolled a dirty 20.
[00:56:07] Speaker B: That's awesome. Also, Landon, help me remember. I'm. I. I don't think so. Conjure animals. Isn't concentration. Right? You just.
[00:56:13] Speaker E: It is concentration. Yes.
[00:56:14] Speaker B: Oh, okay.
[00:56:16] Speaker E: So if I take damage, I have to roll. Say no.
[00:56:18] Speaker B: It's okay. It's okay.
What was the. What was the roll? The hit.
[00:56:22] Speaker E: A dirty 20, I believe.
[00:56:24] Speaker B: That hits. I can't imagine that. It's time. It does. That's super hit. Well, damage.
[00:56:28] Speaker E: I'm so relieved to hear that it does.
Please. A sword does 14 damage. 14 damage. And it's piercing damage, if that matters at all. Yeah, and it's not magical.
[00:56:40] Speaker B: Well, no one asked. And I'm being a did you know? Guy right now, but please do. Sorts. Were Episcopals. We believe so. Their teeth were very long. They're what?
[00:56:47] Speaker C: They're what? What are they?
[00:56:48] Speaker B: What did you say?
[00:56:49] Speaker E: Episcopalians. They're Episcopalians.
No, that's Luther.
[00:56:57] Speaker A: Sorry.
[00:57:01] Speaker E: I'm Just kidding, Jonathan.
[00:57:05] Speaker B: Any who. I shouldn't have said this. They eat fish, so they have long conical teeth like a gal. Anyway, they bite them and it hurts and it does damage.
[00:57:14] Speaker C: So sorry, Zach.
[00:57:17] Speaker E: 14 on the road.
[00:57:19] Speaker B: Hey, I walked into that. These three guys look damaged.
[00:57:23] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:57:25] Speaker B: Care Next initiative, it's the Kuoa Assassins and the Crushers.
So this Kuoa is.
He's got an enemy on deck. He's gonna throw his little Kuatoa of mine.
Gonna throw a dagger at paws.
[00:57:47] Speaker D: This little Kuoa of mine.
[00:57:52] Speaker E: My AC is.
Oh, my thing. Oh, my God. Oh, my goodness. One second, let me.
I get half cover from ranged attacks because of my Druid's Defense.
[00:58:07] Speaker B: That's amazing.
So that's been there the whole time? What did I do?
[00:58:13] Speaker E: What does that mean?
[00:58:17] Speaker B: That gives you a bonus to your ac.
[00:58:20] Speaker E: Is it plus one?
[00:58:22] Speaker B: That's a part of Druid's Defense?
[00:58:25] Speaker E: No, it's formidable foliage. Sorry, no, that's not. That's. That's formidable foliage. Sorry, never mind.
[00:58:30] Speaker B: It's okay.
[00:58:31] Speaker E: I got too excited.
[00:58:33] Speaker B: 21 hit.
[00:58:33] Speaker E: 21. That is my AC.
[00:58:36] Speaker B: Oh, now I feel bad.
Okay, so you take five points of piercing damage as a dagger into your shoulder. A little bit. Doesn't go particularly deep, honestly, just kind of grazes you.
And then you take.
No.
Oh, yeah, give me a constitution. Save you there.
[00:58:57] Speaker E: Okay.
A con save is plus zero.
[00:59:06] Speaker B: But.
[00:59:06] Speaker E: I rolled a 16, so hopefully that's good enough.
[00:59:09] Speaker B: That is, you are not poisoned, but you do take six points of poison.
[00:59:12] Speaker E: Damage, so that's 11 total.
[00:59:15] Speaker B: That was six plus 10. 10.
Okay. Yeah. So a dagger just, like, cuts by you in your shoulder, but there's like a. Like a. Like a pulse in you when you.
[00:59:29] Speaker E: Zachary.
Yeah, I rolled a Nat20 on my concentration saved. So that means I get my cohort of chaos triggers.
So I need to roll a D4. It's my feet that I took.
[00:59:44] Speaker B: Oh, yeah.
Good, good. More to manage on this map. What have I done?
Valuable lesson, hopefully.
[00:59:53] Speaker E: Waves of energy ripple around me, and any creature that starts its turn within five feet of me or moves into that area for the first time takes 1d8 force damage.
[01:00:02] Speaker B: That's crazy.
[01:00:06] Speaker E: Until the start of my next turn. Well, no, no. Until the end of my next turn.
[01:00:09] Speaker B: Sorry, do you want to describe that for me, boss?
[01:00:12] Speaker E: Yeah. So Boz gets hit by the dagger, and I feel like.
Oh, you know, like in. When you see, like, poison go into somebody's veins and it's like, it. I feel like, oh, his veins turn a different color. I don't know, imagine something like that, like. Like traveling up and then like getting this like pushed into his eyes. Just like he. Just like explosion of force that like like starts emanating as the.
[01:00:36] Speaker B: As the beating of your heart circulates the. The poison around your bl. Around your. Around your bloodstream. The, like the varicose veins travel up your neck into your face and you sort of. And as there's that pulse, there's this out from you. And it'll happen to them. Oh, this is their turn.
[01:00:54] Speaker E: Also, as a reaction, I make the rogue do a saving throw. Zachary, you have no.
[01:00:59] Speaker B: You've built the one who's 15ft from you.
[01:01:01] Speaker E: I know, but listen, I can make an attack. He has to do an intelligent save.
[01:01:06] Speaker D: Listen.
[01:01:09] Speaker B: Okay, mark that. You've used your reaction.
[01:01:11] Speaker E: I will.
[01:01:13] Speaker B: What kind of same intelligence have you? Throw 13.
[01:01:16] Speaker E: He fails. So he takes 1d12 psychic damage.
[01:01:19] Speaker B: That's awesome. Boss is so many different kinds of magic in him.
[01:01:23] Speaker E: It's only three. It's only three. Hey, that's amazing.
[01:01:26] Speaker B: Maker.
[01:01:27] Speaker E: That's make. No, that's not maker magic. That's. I almost killed myself at a tree magic.
[01:01:31] Speaker B: Yeah, well, the problem is magic. Boss has. Has. Has magic from his homeland and he has magic from the. From the mad Prince and he has magic from the Aber tree and he has ma. Or from the living tree, and he's magic from the maker. He has so many different kinds of magic.
Okay, so the waves pulse out. Go ahead and roll the. The force damage so that I can just go ahead and record it for this Kuo Toa in this one.
[01:01:51] Speaker E: Okay, that is seven. Seven.
[01:01:55] Speaker B: Okay, great.
This guy's already looking pretty hurt.
Four. And then he was also.
Hold on. This guy. That's three. Seven. Okay.
[01:02:08] Speaker E: What's crazy is it doesn't hurt goober, because just outside that zone.
[01:02:12] Speaker B: That's awesome. That's really good that you're not hurting spaghetti. Okay, crazy. Now we go to this Kuo assassin turn. Because all that time was just somebody hitting boss. Someone hit boss and seven things happened. Now this one took the damage, right? He took.
[01:02:27] Speaker E: He just took damage, right?
[01:02:28] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah. Oh, they both took damage. Okay.
[01:02:30] Speaker E: They both did. Oh, so I need to roll a second D8, right? Or they both get seven. Oh, no, no, never mind. No.
[01:02:35] Speaker B: What's happening?
[01:02:35] Speaker E: Cuz for any creature that starts their turn takes the damage.
[01:02:39] Speaker B: Yep. Yeah, these two both took damage.
[01:02:42] Speaker E: Yeah. Okay. Sorry, I missed my brain.
[01:02:43] Speaker B: Okay. All good.
[01:02:44] Speaker E: We're good.
[01:02:45] Speaker B: Everything. This one has advantage on you. And rolled a five and a Two.
So neither hit.
And so as this. As this Kuo Toa pulls out the dagger to stab you right in the back. Just right there. The plesiosaur just reached down and just. Just takes the knife out of his hand and he goes.
[01:03:02] Speaker C: Just took.
[01:03:03] Speaker B: And so he just lost that knife.
Didn't make the attack.
Now it's this Kuo. This Kuo crusher. This one. This one. Holy cow. Okay, so kuoa on boz o.
[01:03:18] Speaker E: That one takes two damage from the force field.
[01:03:22] Speaker B: I already rolled his damage.
[01:03:24] Speaker E: Oh, I don't know why I'm doing this. Please. Okay, that's okay.
[01:03:27] Speaker B: It was more when I took it the other time. So he already took seven. That's better.
That's a 21 to hit you.
And then the second Zach is too low, the second one misses.
So you take seven points of piercing damage from a spear, and then the second one is deflected by druid's defense.
This one's gonna attack pl. Ooh, Definitely hits ploth takes seven points of piercing damage.
So there. There's just powerful jabbing. Oh, Second attack misses. Wow. They're very systematic.
Okay, now this one over here is going to attack Craig twice more.
That is quite one low and one high. Every time. Every. Every high roll has been above 15, and every low roll has been below 5.
One Mrs. Craig as you juke out of the way. But the other one stabs into your shoulder with a 20 something, and you take seven points of piercing damage. This is getting spooky.
This one's gonna attack even though he's surrounded by combatants. He's gonna attack Roe again. They have directives.
[01:04:36] Speaker D: Wait, again?
Have I been attacked before or.
[01:04:40] Speaker B: No. Excuse me, Greta. So sorry. One's in that one.
[01:04:43] Speaker D: No. You can attack me at. I didn't mean to.
[01:04:45] Speaker B: It's not next to you one's. And that one misses. So as he goes to stab, Tello just slaps him in the face.
Oh, wisdom, save me. Wisdom saving throw.
[01:04:55] Speaker D: Yeah.
[01:04:55] Speaker B: What's your spell? Save.
[01:04:59] Speaker C: 17.
[01:04:59] Speaker B: He fails. He takes no action as he goes to reach up and stab you with the spear. The text just crawls up his face, and he just.
He's freaking out. He's surrounded by enemies. He's having the worst day. Okay, awesome. Next. Next up in turn is Ro. Craig's up on deck after that.
[01:05:16] Speaker D: I have a. I have a question.
[01:05:18] Speaker B: I have an answer for you for.
[01:05:20] Speaker D: What'S been going on while all of this is happening. In this, like, split second time, are the Kua Toa, like, yelling back and Forth at each other and, like, talking or anything or.
[01:05:31] Speaker B: Yes, yes. They're. Well, I mean, there were initial yells when they jumped down, so it sounds like shouts are being exchanged. Not currently, but they have been and they likely will be again.
[01:05:42] Speaker D: Okay. I think what Ro is going to do, because she's like, why are they here? Why are they attacking us? And they don't.
She's going to. The ring on her finger, the band of Ambassador. She's going to use it. She's going to turn it and, like, as she turns it, like, golden purple, like, just start, like, folding through her hands and then up into her mouth, and she's gonna cast tongues on herself with the ring.
And do I need to take, like. It's not an action to grab my loot next to me or anything?
[01:06:19] Speaker B: No, I always.
The standing rule in our campaign is pull out a weapon as a free action because I just don't care about the economy of that. And it's so much better when you can just get to stuff.
[01:06:29] Speaker D: Yeah.
So. Yeah. So I'm gonna. My loots that were there. I'm gonna, like, throw the soul mender on my back and have song splitter in my hand.
[01:06:41] Speaker B: Yeah.
Is it a bonus action for Ambassador's ring?
[01:06:45] Speaker D: No, it's an. It's an action.
[01:06:47] Speaker B: Well, it.
[01:06:48] Speaker D: It doesn't really say. It just says you cast tongues and tongues.
[01:06:51] Speaker B: It does not say.
[01:06:53] Speaker D: But it says you cast tongues with it and. I know, but.
[01:06:56] Speaker B: But it specifies that you cast it by twisting the ring, right?
[01:07:01] Speaker D: No.
[01:07:02] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:07:02] Speaker D: Does it. Let me make sure I have the document right here, because I just looked at it, but now I cannot remember.
[01:07:08] Speaker B: What is it correct.
[01:07:11] Speaker D: It says, while attuned to this ring, you may cast the spell tongues on yourself once poor per short or long rest.
It says nothing about.
[01:07:21] Speaker B: Okay, no problem. Yeah. If you're casting the spell, that's an action. You interpreted it correctly. So you have your. You have your action. Is there a bonus action or any movement you want to use?
[01:07:29] Speaker D: Yes, I would like.
Let's see, who's blue? Who's the blue one across from me? That's Craig, right?
[01:07:38] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:07:38] Speaker D: So I'm going to. As I'm picking up song splitter, my fingers are just going to, like, slide across it and give Bardic inspiration to Craig, which. Micah. That's a D10 added to a role.
[01:07:50] Speaker A: Wonderful.
[01:07:52] Speaker D: And then I think.
[01:07:59] Speaker B: Micah, I'm gonna put a little D10 next to Craig. So you remember, he has the initiative. Okay.
[01:08:06] Speaker A: The.
[01:08:07] Speaker B: I have initiative or the inspiration?
[01:08:09] Speaker C: The inspiration.
[01:08:10] Speaker A: Oh, I wrote it down.
[01:08:12] Speaker B: Okay. Oh.
Oh.
[01:08:14] Speaker A: All right.
[01:08:14] Speaker B: Nickel.
[01:08:15] Speaker E: Okay.
[01:08:15] Speaker A: No, we're good. I mean, if you want to, but.
[01:08:17] Speaker B: Like, just jiggle then. Mickle. Okay.
[01:08:21] Speaker A: I'm telling you guys, the Google Docs was a turning point.
[01:08:25] Speaker B: Okay?
[01:08:26] Speaker A: Yeah, it was a turning point.
[01:08:27] Speaker B: So we're good. I like it. Okay.
[01:08:30] Speaker D: I'm going to. For my movement, I'm gonna get.
I can't go. I would have to, like, The Kuo Toa. There is, like, blocking me to go up. Right.
I think I'm gonna.
[01:08:47] Speaker B: You could slip by him diagonally and go around. There's an attack of opportunity, but you could go.
[01:08:51] Speaker D: Yeah, that's the thing. I think I'm gonna get, like, in front of him or. Well, I don't know which way he's facing, but I'm gonna get in the spot in the space. Like, just slide me over. One to the right or my. My. Yet to. No, to there.
No, go forward. You're right. That's better.
No, not the attack of opportunity. Just get near him. Yeah. Or is that still attack of opportunity?
[01:09:17] Speaker B: Where. Where do you want to go? I'm so.
[01:09:19] Speaker D: Just right there. Just right. But if. If I go right next to him, is that attackable?
[01:09:23] Speaker B: No, no. As long as you stay in range of the enemy, there's no attack of opportunity.
[01:09:26] Speaker D: Okay, that's what I thought. So I just wanna. I just want to get next to him so. So that my next turn I can fight him. Because I kind of want to go up, but I don't want to really leave everyone down here with these great two dudes, so.
[01:09:36] Speaker B: Understood.
You're up.
[01:09:40] Speaker A: Okay.
So I would like to roll and, like, grab my shield.
[01:09:48] Speaker B: Okay. You know, like, you have it. I'm not gonna. Yeah, you have your shield.
[01:09:52] Speaker A: How long does it take to get dressed? Just curious.
[01:09:55] Speaker B: 10 minutes to put on full blue.
[01:09:57] Speaker A: Shoot. Absolutely. Shoot. But that's okay.
I would love to take my shield. What does that add to my AC?
[01:10:07] Speaker B: Two more.
So now your AC is 10 plus your dex plus two.
[01:10:13] Speaker A: So that would be 13.
[01:10:15] Speaker B: Great.
That's much better than 11. Much better.
[01:10:19] Speaker A: That is a lot better than 11.
So I would love to try and fight off the bad dude that is.
[01:10:27] Speaker B: In front of you.
[01:10:29] Speaker A: In front of me with Star Splinter.
[01:10:31] Speaker B: Absolutely. You reach down to mercenary scabbard. The scabbard just leaned up against your bunk, and where there is no sword, when you reach down your hand, the hilt just appears, and you pull Star Splinter out of nowhere.
Go ahead and take two attacks, Craig, but I need you to make them boast at an Advantage. Because Roe is flanking with you.
[01:10:50] Speaker A: Awesome. If. Is there anywhere I can, like, push him up against or.
[01:10:54] Speaker B: No, not particularly.
[01:10:58] Speaker D: Okay, you can push him up against your.
[01:11:01] Speaker B: Use your action. You use your action to grapple, to not do damage but grab. You could grab him and try and shove him to this wall. But if you're trying to use your weapon, you're just using your weapon because there's nothing.
[01:11:12] Speaker A: I'll just use a weapon. Yeah, yeah. We'll do a little flavor.
But I like to say that he wears. He's wearing clothes, right?
[01:11:23] Speaker E: Yes.
[01:11:24] Speaker A: Can I grab him by the.
And then, like, hold up the sword and, like.
No. Is that possible?
[01:11:33] Speaker B: What were you.
[01:11:33] Speaker A: I'll roll to attack. I'll roll.
[01:11:35] Speaker B: How about we do that? How about we do that? That's always a good place to start.
[01:11:39] Speaker A: That was cocked, so that's a 19 plus.
Pretty sure it's.
[01:11:54] Speaker D: 10.
[01:11:59] Speaker B: Oh, shoot.
[01:12:02] Speaker A: So it's like nine.
Attack bonus is 10. So it's 19 plus 10, right?
[01:12:08] Speaker B: 29.
[01:12:09] Speaker A: 29.
[01:12:12] Speaker B: Your attack bonus is one less because you're not wearing your armor. Your magical armor gives you one more, but 28 is pretty killer. 28 is pretty incredible.
[01:12:23] Speaker D: Wait.
[01:12:23] Speaker B: Now that's your spell attack bonus, right?
[01:12:24] Speaker A: Wait, wait.
[01:12:25] Speaker B: Not your weapon. Attack bonus.
You're on your spell page. It'll tell you what. Your spell attack bonus bonuses.
[01:12:33] Speaker A: My. No, no. This is my weapon Attack bonus.
[01:12:36] Speaker B: Yeah, I thought so. I thought so.
[01:12:38] Speaker A: That's what I need, right? This is my weapon.
[01:12:43] Speaker B: Wait. Yes. I'm so sorry, dear. Goodness, don't listen to me. I'm dumb and silly and a little skibidi bibbidi. Okay, so sorry. Yes. You got a 29 just then. Because it's your weapon, and I'm a silly, silly boo Boo. I'm Booba the Clown.
[01:12:57] Speaker A: So I actually. Actually, it makes a lot more sense now because I had a lot of scribbles at attack bonus. You said star splinter gives me a plus one, so I actually have 10.
So I saw a bunch of scribbles like, that looks like a 10, but then I saw a little one.
[01:13:11] Speaker B: So 29. You hit. Go ahead and roll a second attack because you have to.
[01:13:15] Speaker A: Amazing.
So that is a. That's just gonna be a flat 20.
[01:13:20] Speaker B: Oh, if that's all. Okay, both hit. Go ahead and roll for damage.
[01:13:24] Speaker A: Okay, so damage. Here's the absolutely most complicated. I'm pretty sure it's.
I just should write it down somewhere, you know? Like, I really should, like, write it down. The whole process of shebang.
[01:13:39] Speaker B: Not telling you how to live your life. But.
[01:13:41] Speaker A: But yeah, so I see it's one D6 plus one D6 plus six.
Two of those would be 46 plus 12. Correct.
[01:13:54] Speaker B: You only you're adding on five at the end because that's your strength. Plus one. Oh, yes, yes. From two attacks. Oh my goodness. Micah. Again, you're correct. Wow, dude.
Micah.
[01:14:07] Speaker A: So that will be 46 plus 12.
[01:14:10] Speaker B: 46 plus 12.
[01:14:11] Speaker D: Wow.
[01:14:11] Speaker B: Micah, dunk on me then. Dude.
[01:14:13] Speaker A: It's like I do it, but it's okay because I just keep forgetting how to do it. And then I just remember all over again. But the math is mapping.
[01:14:21] Speaker B: Color me impressed right now because I told you wrong twice and you told me right twice.
[01:14:24] Speaker A: Okay, so I'm gonna put in the chat what I'm getting.
[01:14:29] Speaker D: Okay.
[01:14:32] Speaker A: Six plus one plus. Wait, three. Hold on.
I'm sorry. This is taking a good bit. So there's a.
Oh, that doesn't apply. There's a great weapon fighting and if I'm. If I'm using a two handed weapon and I roll a one or two on a damage die for an attack, I can re roll that die. But that only applies to when I'm using two handed. So anyways, anyways.
[01:15:05] Speaker B: Dandy is a lot of that.
Okay, so what was our total damage?
[01:15:10] Speaker A: So that would be 17 plus 12. 20.
Deeper. 9.
[01:15:19] Speaker B: 29 points of damage. Okay, Craig, what does it look like as you pull this guy within like an inch of his life?
[01:15:30] Speaker A: I didn't do divine might.
[01:15:33] Speaker B: No, but that's okay. We can do it next time. What does it look like as you put this guy with an inch of his life?
[01:15:40] Speaker A: I'd like to say that like I have, I have him like, like with my hand and I have like the sword up against his neck.
[01:15:48] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:15:48] Speaker A: And then instead of cutting his neck, I like go down and I like cut his stomach.
[01:15:55] Speaker B: That's awful. So Craig, as you stand up with Star Splinter after he turned around and looked at Ro, he looks back at you with the spear and grimaces and you just grab him by the throat and he. This is a big strong couple. Wait, wait, you're not killing him, but totally. Tell me about it.
[01:16:10] Speaker A: No, no, no, but I say I was having a dream about Katherine and that's what he says.
[01:16:17] Speaker B: And Craig, as you growl that in his face, he is big and strong. But as you stand up, not that tall, but all that wide with no armor on. Craig, your broad frame and your. I mean, you are ridiculously jacked at this point. You look like a linebacker. Your huge body under your clothes picks up, and as you grab him by the neck, you just lift him off of the floor. And as you bring star splinter around, you cut all the way through the armor on his stomach and into his stomach, and all this silver blood splatters. And he just.
And as you drop him down, he likes Looks awful. He looks five hit points bad.
So that's an amazing turn.
Are. I assume you're not using any movement, Craig?
[01:16:58] Speaker A: Nah, I have him where I want him.
[01:17:03] Speaker B: Micah spends every moment of her life goobin.
Okay, so now it's the Kuo Toa hallowed priests.
This one is gonna take one step forward, and then he's going to lift up a staff of cardi attack.
Well, diagonal is still five, but.
[01:17:26] Speaker E: Oh, you're right.
[01:17:28] Speaker B: But he's gonna lift up a staff of Karkhren, shout a command.
[01:17:32] Speaker E: Bring it down.
[01:17:33] Speaker B: And. And as it hits the deck, all this imagery of fallen Kuo Toa warriors lifts up around him. And he is going to to concentrate as he casts spirit guardians at fifth level.
[01:17:46] Speaker C: I love sp.
Awesome.
[01:17:53] Speaker B: He cast spirit guardians fifth level.
So that's 5v8. Okay, so that's that. That'll come up. So b, on your turn, these two plesiosaurs have to make a save, but not right now.
Then this one's gonna cast guiding bolt at you.
[01:18:16] Speaker C: Who are these guys? I saw my spells.
What?
[01:18:19] Speaker B: This one's good.
Guiding bolt at you at fourth level.
And he's gonna roll a two because I.
And as he leans the staff forward and shoots the bolt, this red fiery bolt just over your head, boss. And even though you're flanked by two enemies and he's our hard level cleric, he just whiffs over your head and it happens.
Ha. It happens to the best of us.
Can he bonus action. Anything?
No.
Cool.
Dang it. Okay, that happens. That happens at the top of initiative. It's tello.
Ploth's up after that. And Greta, you're up after that.
[01:19:01] Speaker C: Hello's. Gonna roll with advantage to attack with his rapier on the guy in Arlo.
[01:19:06] Speaker B: That's right. He is.
Man, I'm so frustrated about that guiding bolt, but that's fine.
It happens. It happens to you guys. Happens to me.
[01:19:19] Speaker C: It's a dirty 20.
[01:19:21] Speaker B: Landon, did you just message in theclurb? We all fam in the 30. 20 will hit.
[01:19:29] Speaker C: Okay.
[01:19:30] Speaker B: 9. 9 points of damage. That's phenomenal. Sorry, these messages are crazy.
Nine points of damage.
[01:19:44] Speaker D: Okay.
[01:19:44] Speaker B: He's brought down to.
Okay.
Looking pretty heavily wounded. There's another.
Oh, I just did the wrong damage on the wrong ones. We're gonna keep moving.
The. The blade comes forward and just jabs him once in the back. And he's looking. He's looking almost bloodied. He looks pretty harmed. Whoa.
Next up is Ploth. I assume he's not moving, right? He's staying right there.
[01:20:11] Speaker C: Yeah, he's gonna stay there.
[01:20:12] Speaker B: Okay, that's. It would be a terrible choice to do anything else.
So Ploth is up, and she's gonna roll bad on one, good on the other. I guess that's the average. That makes sense mathematically. She definitely hits with one. I don't care about the total.
That sneeze turned into damage. She deals eight points of slashing with her battle axe. As this Kuo Toa is looking stonky.
Yeah, he's looking stonked. Did some.
[01:20:43] Speaker E: Oof.
[01:20:44] Speaker B: There's another slash. Just. She and this crusher are deeply, deeply in damage. And Ploth is not just pissed off because someone's trying to kill her, but because this specific type of creature has tried to kill her before. And so there's hate in her eyes as she roars, grabs his shoulder, and slashes across his arm with the battle axe. Next up in the Initiative is because she missed her other attack is Greta. What are you doing, Greta?
[01:21:03] Speaker C: Okay, Greep is going to attack.
[01:21:07] Speaker B: Ah, what's up?
[01:21:12] Speaker C: Green Groovy's gonna riding bolt on the one right in front of her.
[01:21:21] Speaker B: Oh, this one right here. Okay, so go ahead and give.
[01:21:29] Speaker C: Manage because I'm close.
[01:21:36] Speaker B: Melee. Melee range spell attacks are made at disadvantage. Yes.
[01:21:39] Speaker C: Okay, then I'm gonna do it at the.
I'm gonna do it at the other.
[01:21:46] Speaker B: Okay, at this one. That's a better choice. What level are you casting it at?
[01:21:58] Speaker C: I'm going to be second.
[01:22:05] Speaker B: Second level. Okay, roll the hit.
[01:22:17] Speaker C: I don't get advantage because he's flanked, do I?
[01:22:20] Speaker B: Do not?
[01:22:21] Speaker C: Okay, that's an e.
[01:22:24] Speaker B: It's an eight.
[01:22:25] Speaker C: 18.
[01:22:27] Speaker B: That's better.
Okay, go ahead and roll for damage and describe to me what it looks like.
Actually. Roll for damage.
[01:22:36] Speaker E: Let's.
[01:22:54] Speaker B: Get him, Greta. Get him.
[01:22:56] Speaker D: Did y' all hear my neck just crack?
[01:22:58] Speaker C: 15.
[01:23:00] Speaker D: Because it was.
It was a really good one, and I heard it in my head.
[01:23:04] Speaker B: That is an excellent neck crack. Almost as. Almost as good as me asking Greta how she wants to do this.
[01:23:17] Speaker C: We'll just say that, like, a bolt of sickly green light, like, shoots out from under the hammock, and he doesn't even see where it comes from. It just shoots out and.
[01:23:32] Speaker B: Okay, so as this bolt of energy just from under the hammock where the. Where the crusher is, Craig, like after you're disemboweling slash, he takes a spear, trying to make one last lunge at you. And you just watch as.
As he, like he has. There's this flash of green. His. He like jerks to the side.
His. This kind of part of his head just kind of like pushes in a little bit. And then the right side of his head, this eye just.
Just blows up. And Craig, you are covered in Kuo Toa blood and brains all across your face. Just fragment of bone across your face. It's nasty. And his dead body just collapsed to the floor. That's going to be a lot of work to. It's going to take a lot of prestigitations.
That was awesome. Greta, are you doing anything else on your turn?
[01:24:21] Speaker C: Yes, I'm going to move towards. No, I'm not.
[01:24:26] Speaker B: Sorry. Okay, that's okay.
[01:24:28] Speaker C: That's it.
[01:24:29] Speaker B: Okay, next it's the Kuo Toa Federer.
So up here on the top, this one riding the big monster is going to take his bow and aim it at Boz. He's up above. He's like five feet up on the back of this one. So he's over this crusher and he's going to draw an arrow to the longbow. And as he releases it, the front of the arrow sets on fire.
Looks like there's some sort of magic there as the tattoos light up on his wrist. Rude.
Rude of him. And can somebody not roll bad? 18. That misses. Right, boss?
Okay, second attack.
Dear goodness. Finally, 20 something that hits, right?
[01:25:13] Speaker E: Is it 21.
[01:25:16] Speaker B: Trying anyway? Yes.
[01:25:18] Speaker E: Yeah, that does hit.
[01:25:19] Speaker B: Okay, she's keeping me in suspense.
So that is, I roll the blood on the damage. What's happening? I'm back to old Zach. Dang it. Three points of piercing damage.
And then.
Okay, didn't mean to throw my dice at you. And then a two.
Good, good. Three points of fire damage. Six points total.
Oh, my goodness. You got to be kidding me. Okay, so, boss, could you make a con save for me?
[01:25:47] Speaker E: I. I just. I did. I roll a 17.
[01:25:49] Speaker B: Okay, excellent. You think I have a plus zero.
[01:25:52] Speaker E: To con, so it's a 50. 50 shot every time.
I have a plus zero to my con save so I chance of me failing every time I get hit.
[01:26:02] Speaker B: Well, I. I want you to succeed. I'm just bothered all my guys are doing so very little, but that's fine.
Okay, so then as a bonus action, the Kuo Toa Federer is going to issue a command to which is going to move 5, 10, 15, 20. So he's kind of barring the door. He's over it.
He's gonna take a bite. Attack at Boz at advantage.
[01:26:31] Speaker E: He takes 1d8 force damage first.
[01:26:34] Speaker B: That's right. He does roll that force damage as well as this one. So both do go ahead and roll.
[01:26:39] Speaker A: That D. Oh, both.
[01:26:39] Speaker E: Oh, that's seven for seven for them.
[01:26:41] Speaker B: Yeah, because he's on top. He's still within five. You rolled seven.
[01:26:44] Speaker E: Yeah.
[01:26:45] Speaker B: Okay. Sick.
Excellent. The wave of force pulses outward against them, and they're both knocked back a little bit, to which, in response, the big fish dinosaur is gonna try and bite you. One of them's a gnat one, and the other one a 15. So surrounded by three enemies from all sides, no one can hit Boz with his incredible ac. And Boz, as these huge jaws lunge out at you, how does it look like as they fail to hit you?
[01:27:22] Speaker E: This is.
We're not here all the time, but I feel like this is our home. You know what I mean?
[01:27:28] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[01:27:28] Speaker E: I know it quite well.
I can.
As I'm there, I feel like my. Like, the roots of what used to be, you know, this. The staff of the Mad Prince is, like, in the wood of the boat, and I'm, like, moving from it and, like, using it as leverage. And I don't know, I also have.
I'm also green and I shine, so I'm sure that's a little weird. I don't know. They're probably not used to bright light being so deep into the waters.
[01:27:58] Speaker B: As Boz sort of, like, backs out of the way, away from the huge lunging jowls. One could almost swear some of the grooves in the granules of the wood against the rail. He leans backward. Buckle with him as if to let him move far back enough to not be bitten.
And none of those attacks hit you. Amazing. That's the end of their turn.
It's Bill Free's turn.
He's gonna try and kill this fool.
So 2 tax at advantage. First one hits, second one misses. So he gets one attack.
Da Giveity. Wap this some $11 points of slashing.
Okay, buddy Is looking real hurt from all sides. Bill Free. And as. As he's being hexed from every side or caged in from every side, Bill Free takes the arm that's gone limp from where the shoulder blade was harmed, pulls it out, and as the kuoa turns backward to jam the spear into him, he Picks up the battle axe and just goes, get off my ship. And he brings the axe down through the shoulder, just cuts his left arm off and throws the arm up against the wall. And the Kuo Toa just stares at him with a stage stunned experience with fear.
Phenomenal. Now it is Boz's turn.
What's Boss, what's spongebob's meat boy doing?
[01:29:23] Speaker E: Zach, here's a question.
So Massacre Wounds is a large enough space to get all the people that I want, but it does not say that I have to see them. Would I be able to target the people that are below me or. No, it does not say I have to see them. It's just a 30 foot sphere.
[01:29:39] Speaker B: Yes.
You do not need to see them.
The only reason I would say you wouldn't get everyone right now is simply because there is a barrier between them. There's a physical barrier, you know, so.
[01:29:49] Speaker E: He is blocking the entrance. That one guy is.
[01:29:52] Speaker B: Yes. Yeah. Well, and not even that, just that like, like, even if he wasn't there, like let's say it's like a, like a radiating light or something. Right. It would get anyone in this path. But like all the way over here, like the path of the door didn't reach. Like, like the floor is blocking you, you know. Now if you were halfway down the ladder, I would say you could get everybody.
[01:30:10] Speaker E: Okay.
[01:30:12] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:30:13] Speaker E: I feel like Boz is going to cast Thunder Wave.
Okay, let me get the spell pulled up, cuz he's going to up cast it.
[01:30:23] Speaker B: Allies are protected by the same logic, so. Yeah, that's great.
[01:30:27] Speaker E: 15T cube push. 10ft away.
[01:30:31] Speaker C: That's awesome.
[01:30:32] Speaker E: Okay, so boss is going to angle this thing to try and like push the dino boys off the boat.
[01:30:42] Speaker B: This guy.
[01:30:42] Speaker E: Yes. But he's gonna angle it so that the person on the right is in the 15 is like, is in the corner of like it starts from.
[01:30:48] Speaker B: You're putting it like right, like here.
[01:30:50] Speaker E: Yeah. Heading off the boat.
Oh my gosh. If he hands it, if he handles it right, he could also hit the rogue if he faces is like.
No for me.
[01:31:00] Speaker B: Right?
[01:31:01] Speaker E: Yeah. 5, 10, 15. Yeah. So it could be from him.
[01:31:04] Speaker B: 5, 10, 15.
[01:31:07] Speaker E: What? No, 5 like 10, 15. Imagine that the, that the rogue boss and the crusher are aligned. He would be doing it emanating from that line.
Would that hit all?
[01:31:20] Speaker B: I see what you're saying.
Well, I think the idea is that it's 15ft, like starting in the square in front of you. You see what I'm saying?
[01:31:27] Speaker E: Got it, got it. Yeah. Okay, never mind.
[01:31:28] Speaker B: Because at that point, you're kind of talking about a sphere, but I see.
[01:31:31] Speaker E: No, no, no, no.
[01:31:32] Speaker B: You're.
[01:31:32] Speaker E: You're 100% right. Yeah. Okay. No, he would just target the crusher and the dinosaurs, hitting those two while trying to push the dinosaur off.
[01:31:38] Speaker B: Absolutely, Absolutely.
So what kind of a saving throw is that?
[01:31:45] Speaker E: It is a con save.
[01:31:47] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:31:48] Speaker E: Con save.
[01:31:50] Speaker B: Well, you. You have the opportunity to hit three. Three here.
[01:31:53] Speaker E: Three. Really?
[01:31:54] Speaker B: The Federer is also riding the gulper.
[01:31:57] Speaker E: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[01:31:58] Speaker B: Flip it this way so it's a little clearer.
There we go. That's a little better.
Okay. The Crushers save is not amazing.
That's a 14, I'm sure. That fails.
The Federer gets a. A 16. Probably also fails. Right.
And then the Gulper gets a five.
So they all take full damage and then move backward. Is that correct?
[01:32:32] Speaker E: Yes. They are flung backwards 10ft.
[01:32:37] Speaker B: 10.
I'm going to make this rogue guy make a deck save to not be pushed off this bit.
He's gonna fail. So this guy gets thrown off the side of the ship just into the water as the Gulper and the Federer are thrown backward by the wave Thunder. And then this guy is also pushed back 10ft. Amazing.
[01:33:05] Speaker E: Okay. And they take 5D8 because it was fourth level.
[01:33:08] Speaker B: That's phenomenal.
Go ahead and roll that damage for me.
[01:33:12] Speaker E: Okay.
20 damage.
[01:33:20] Speaker B: I like to think of myself as an accepting person. I don't know about these digital dice.
How many? What was the total?
[01:33:26] Speaker E: 20.
[01:33:27] Speaker B: 20. That's excellent.
The wave of thunder as it pulses outward from you, Druid, evoking these natural forces.
Which Crusher is that? That's this one.
Okay, you.
The Crusher is looking pretty wounded as the thunder pulses across him. Blood is pouring out of his gills and away from his jaws.
He looks almost bloodied.
The Gulper and the Fetter, neither look bloodied, but they look harmed. You know, they look. They look. They look like the impact was painful to them.
I assume that's your whole turn, or is there anything else? Any bonus?
[01:34:05] Speaker E: No, that's not my whole turn.
I'm going to.
I was going to do.
I'm going to do.
I have a bonus action, and I know I have a couple things I need to do. Formidable foliage is not a bonus action. Zachary, that's your custom spell, so you should know that.
[01:34:22] Speaker B: I believe it's not custom spells, but I believe it's not.
[01:34:32] Speaker E: It's a leveled spell, though, so I couldn't do that. Never mind. He is gonna cast vicious mockery since that is a cantrip and not a leveled spell.
[01:34:39] Speaker B: And I love it.
[01:34:43] Speaker E: He's gonna let you do it as.
[01:34:45] Speaker B: A bonus action or a reaction. It's a bonus action, right?
[01:34:47] Speaker E: It is a bonus action. And.
And he's gonna do it at the guy that's concentrating on the people. The. The. The concentration spell, the spirit guidance.
[01:34:59] Speaker B: Excellent. Yes.
[01:35:00] Speaker E: So he's gonna do that. It needs to do a wisdom saving throw.
[01:35:04] Speaker B: Okay, well, I rolled awful, but he is good at those. Okay, and so what is roll for damage? Is that two?
[01:35:15] Speaker E: What did he roll?
[01:35:17] Speaker B: 12.
[01:35:18] Speaker E: Okay.
Yes. So he must. He. Now he has to do this concentration save, and he does 3D4 on the base spell. But the shoes give me something else. I don't know what.
[01:35:29] Speaker B: I think it's the 3D4 is what?
[01:35:31] Speaker E: No, no, that's the. That's 11th level.
Well, this is.
[01:35:39] Speaker B: Oh, let me look it up. Because you're not a bard. Like, this isn't your spell. You see what I'm saying? It's level.
[01:35:46] Speaker E: You told me when I first got it, it would let me do the 3D4 I've casted with the 3D4 Plus.
[01:35:50] Speaker B: No, but what I'm saying is, I think that's what the shoes give you is 3d4. Do you see what I'm saying? No.
[01:35:55] Speaker E: You do an extra damage dice. It says you cast vicious mockery cantrip as a bonus action. And when you do, you roll an extra damage dice on top of what your level is.
[01:36:04] Speaker B: Okay, I. I don't remember it. So I fully believe you.
[01:36:10] Speaker E: I'm very confident in that. I'm very confident.
[01:36:12] Speaker B: And you're typically right.
[01:36:21] Speaker E: But as always, if that sounds too much for you.
[01:36:23] Speaker B: No, no, no, no. I believe you.
[01:36:27] Speaker E: Eleven with a. With a one.
[01:36:29] Speaker B: Oh, bomber dude.
[01:36:32] Speaker E: So now he has to roll as concentration save.
[01:36:35] Speaker B: Was that not what he was doing? Oh, the first one was perhaps Right.
Sorry, I forgot how DND works.
That's this guy. Okay, so 11 points of damage. That's meaningful.
Okay. Oh, and I'm sorry, boss. How do you insult him?
[01:36:53] Speaker E: I say you. You smell stinky, and I just yell that out.
[01:36:57] Speaker B: Adam, excellent. Phenomenal.
You have got to be pissing my pants with a NAT1.
The fifth level. Spirit guardians go stinky.
Oh, I. This is the worst I've rolled in a long, long time. Okay, well, here goes the combat I planned. Moving on.
Okay. And the spirit guardians go away. But they don't just go away. They go away on the turn. They would have affected your summons. Moving on. What do your plesiosaurs Do. I'm sorry, Zachary.
[01:37:32] Speaker E: The plesiosaurs.
[01:37:33] Speaker B: It's okay. It's not anyone's fault. And I love that you guys are winning. I was hoping it'd be a more interesting combat, but we're moving on with our lives.
[01:37:40] Speaker E: Okay. The plesiosaur that was attacking the guy that just dropped concentration rolled a 14.
[01:37:46] Speaker B: That will miss.
[01:37:47] Speaker E: Okay. The other two rolled above 20.
[01:37:50] Speaker B: They will definitely hit. Okay.
[01:37:53] Speaker E: So that is.
I'm sorry, guys. I don't mean to take so long. 3D6.
[01:37:58] Speaker D: I'm just kidding. You're good.
[01:38:02] Speaker E: That is 16 on the priest that did hit.
[01:38:06] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:38:08] Speaker E: And 17 on the rogue.
[01:38:13] Speaker B: Okay, excellent.
[01:38:18] Speaker E: Oh, boss also will move before his turn ends over to where Bill free and.
Oh, you know what? Yeah, he's gonna move over to where. Who's. Where Plop is fighting right over here. Yeah. So that person gets affected by the 1D8.
[01:38:34] Speaker B: Oh, awesome. I love it. Opportunity attack from the rogue. The pleasing source.
[01:38:40] Speaker E: The rogue is on another level. Like, they're elevated. Are they gonna. With a railing between me and them, are they gonna be able to get through. Through that?
[01:38:46] Speaker B: To me, I mean, it's still. It's still five feet.
[01:38:49] Speaker E: Okay.
[01:38:50] Speaker B: Because, like, the rail, you know.
[01:38:53] Speaker E: Okay, no, hey, hey. Yeah, no. Okay.
[01:38:55] Speaker D: Hey. There's people who've been tied to that railing that know that you can get.
All right, you can feel from both.
[01:39:03] Speaker B: Sides as the police lunge out. This one that bites the. The priest here, they have. They have these, like, kind of conical teeth. So it's not necessarily ripping them apart. It's just punching holes in them. This priest looks wounded by it. This one sort of ducks out of the way, and they look filled with rage that their powerful spell has dissipated because someone said they looked. They smelled stinky. And then this one, as. This one is bitten by the Plesios who are lifting it up, it rolls.
Surely not enough. Your AC is incredible, but maybe 18 misses as it goes to lunge at you with the blade. The plesiosaur that bites it, lifts it up a little bit, pulls it backward, and the blade. You hear it go by your head, boss.
And you are. You are protected from the attack, and you move over here. Phenomenal.
[01:39:51] Speaker E: And that went seven damage.
[01:39:54] Speaker B: Now. Oh, yeah. Okay. Okay.
[01:39:56] Speaker E: Yeah. Now it ends. Now it ends. No, if it move. If it. If it is in the space for the first time, it takes it.
[01:40:01] Speaker B: So if I walk, well, that is. That is fine.
[01:40:03] Speaker E: But now it's.
Now it's done for sure.
[01:40:06] Speaker B: Okay, so now it's the crushers and the assassins. On its turn, this assassin's going to.
Its speed is not reduced by water. So it's just gonna 5, 10, 15, and then take the movement up here to just climb back up on the boat. They are creatures of the water.
And this crusher is gonna go 5, 10 to here and.
Yeah, yeah. Oh, and then. And then another force damage for this one as it moves back.
[01:40:36] Speaker E: No, no, no. That. That's done. It ends on. It ends at the end of my next.
[01:40:40] Speaker B: The end of your next turn. Man, Landon, way to constantly know what's happening. It's very impressive.
Okay, so this one's gonna attack Ploth because he's been in battle with it. This one's gonna attack you and then those two. Yeah.
So when is is.
Oh, shoot.
Oops. Well, nobody please help me remember that goober's after the priests. I forgot to do Shagra's turn last time.
[01:41:06] Speaker D: I'm going to write it down after priest.
[01:41:09] Speaker B: Thank you. Please help me remember. So the one that attacks Pl.NAT1, not 20. Guys, what's happening? I'm scared and I'm afraid.
[01:41:22] Speaker D: Crazy.
[01:41:23] Speaker B: So as Boz as you run up that force of wave out from you, and as the. As the Kuo to a crusher takes the spear and lunges it at Ploth, it just slams him against the back of the deck. But the force. Oh, wait, does it.
Ploth also took that damage?
Yes.
Okay.
But it knocks Ploth over as well. And as Plo. As Plof sort of like starts pushing herself back to her feet. That's where the Kuo Toa gets his nap from 20, he just picks up the spirit down at the top of her.
So she's gonna take five plus three. Eight more points of piercing damage.
Ploth is looking bloodied, wounded from many multiple sources.
Then the one behind you is going to take its two attacks at advantage.
NAT20. Okay, guys, what's happened? This is a weird. I'm rolling awful and I'm rolling amazing.
And the second one's like a 24.
So the nat 20 balls is gonna be 8 plus 7 is 15, plus 3 is 18.
And then the second one that's just a hit is six plus three, which is nine.
18 plus nine is 27.
So you have to beat half of the total damage, which is 13, right? No, the total.
[01:42:51] Speaker E: No, I just have to roll above a. I have to do a 10.
[01:42:55] Speaker B: No, no, no. It's your con, save for a spell is either ten or half of the total damage you took for an attack, whichever is higher.
You have to beat a 13.
[01:43:05] Speaker E: Okay. Sorry. My bad.
[01:43:07] Speaker B: Thank you. No, it's okay.
[01:43:07] Speaker E: I didn't know that.
[01:43:08] Speaker B: That hasn't come up in a long time.
[01:43:11] Speaker E: Let's see.
[01:43:11] Speaker B: It's not always 10, because the idea is if someone deals you 200 damage, you're just failure, you know?
[01:43:16] Speaker E: I'm gonna burn my inspiration.
[01:43:18] Speaker B: Excellent. That's probably a good time.
[01:43:20] Speaker E: Oh, I rolled a NAT one, but that means that my thing happens.
[01:43:27] Speaker B: Oh, my goodness.
[01:43:29] Speaker E: So let's roll another D4, babies.
That is another two.
The energy field pops back up again.
[01:43:41] Speaker B: Wild. So does. Does the wave come off of you now?
[01:43:45] Speaker E: No, they. Somebody who's already in it, I think they have to start their next turn. That's why they didn't immediately take it the first time. They had to wait until their turn started to take it. But if somebody. Like if I move into somebody's space. I don't know, man. That's how we did it the past couple turns. But if you want to rule differently. I'm not gonna cry.
[01:44:00] Speaker B: No, no, I. I believe so. Not now. Right. But in a moment.
[01:44:04] Speaker E: Whoever starts their turn. But if someone enters it now, they'll take damage.
[01:44:09] Speaker B: Okay.
Okay. So the plesiosaurus is.
[01:44:13] Speaker E: Go away.
Taking.
[01:44:15] Speaker B: Taking damage. The DC equals 10 or half the damage you take. Yeah. Okay. Okay. Sorry. I just wanted to make sure. I was. I wasn't ruling.
[01:44:20] Speaker E: No, I would not have made it. I rolled a four and a one. But, hey, guess what, guys? Do you want to say a quick prayer? Do you want to say a quick prayer?
Say please.
Please.
Oh, I missed it. I missed it. I missed it. Sorry. Say. Say please again.
[01:44:34] Speaker D: Please.
[01:44:36] Speaker E: Oh, it broke.
[01:44:38] Speaker D: I heard nothing.
[01:44:44] Speaker B: Today. Friday the 13th.
So as bog loses concentration, the three plesiosaurs disappear.
[01:44:54] Speaker E: That's crazy. It literally broke trying to open.
[01:44:57] Speaker B: Guys, this Friday the 13th session is. I'm not superstitious, but I'm a little stitches. This. This Friday the 13th session is crazy sweater.
[01:45:04] Speaker D: I have a sweater that says that.
[01:45:06] Speaker B: And you know what, Jackie? That's why everything's going wrong, because you didn't wear this one.
So now.
So now these. This Kuoa crusher is going to. Or no. This assassin. Can he still.
Yes, he can hit you. But you know what I'm gonna say? If he misses by more than.
If he gets below 10 on this world to hit, he just accidentally hits the crush on the back.
So these two guys are going to attack Boz because he's the only other enemy on deck. They don't particularly care about shippagoor or pl right now, but some bad rolls, buz. 14 misses. So this guy just doesn't hit you at all. Let's try for the other one.
Three and a one. Nobody hits you.
So the daggers just boss. You're just standing there fighting other people, and Dagger's just one of them just next to you on the railing. If you're gaining anything from these new clothed knife, darkly clothed knife wielding foes you're facing, it's that they suck at their job. They're terrible.
Next up in initiative is Roe. Craig is on deck after that.
[01:46:18] Speaker D: Okay, can you.
Okay, so down where I'm at, yellow's Tello, green's Greta. The thing with the circle on it is the kotoa. Who's that?
This is on the other side. So that's Bill Free over there. Okay. And then can I see up the hatch?
[01:46:35] Speaker B: Give me a perception check.
[01:46:38] Speaker D: Okay.
Oh, shoot. That's an AT1, guys.
[01:46:49] Speaker E: What's happening tonight.
[01:46:53] Speaker B: Ro? As you go to look up the rail and you slip on a little bit of the Kuo toa's blood and just bonk your head on the wood in front of you.
[01:46:59] Speaker D: Cool.
[01:47:01] Speaker B: You take a point of bludgeoning damage and you. And you do not see.
[01:47:04] Speaker D: Okay.
Beautiful. Love that.
Okay, I'm going.
I feel like Greta and Tello.
[01:47:20] Speaker B: And.
[01:47:21] Speaker D: Bill Free and Belfry have that dude covered.
[01:47:23] Speaker B: So.
[01:47:24] Speaker D: So she. Even though she got a bump on the head, she's gonna go up 5, 10.
[01:47:30] Speaker B: Okay. And then another 10ft of movement. That's 20 movement total to get up to here.
[01:47:33] Speaker D: Okay.
[01:47:34] Speaker B: Where you. If you stay here, you're just on the ladder.
If you move any of these four spaces, you're not where you.
[01:47:40] Speaker D: Yeah, I don't think I want to be on the ladder.
[01:47:43] Speaker B: As you emerge from up the ladder. Oh, when you get up deck, you, like, down deck, you were like, oh, my goodness. Another Kuo Toa attack. Crazy. Get up deck, you're like, oh, oh, there. There are priests over here. Whatever that dinosaur thing is here. A guy riding his back, two assassins, two crushers. It's just crazy up here.
[01:47:59] Speaker D: Cool.
Can I move a moment?
[01:48:02] Speaker B: Earlier, there would have been plesiosaurs. Yeah.
[01:48:03] Speaker D: Can I move?
[01:48:05] Speaker E: No one's gonna believe that I had plesiosaurs.
[01:48:07] Speaker B: No. No one's ever gonna believe. Pause.
[01:48:08] Speaker D: And I wouldn't have known if they were ours or not. I'm gonna move towards the railing.
[01:48:14] Speaker B: Excellent.
A t opportunity.
[01:48:17] Speaker D: The assassin. Yeah.
[01:48:20] Speaker B: Who. Why even roll, you know?
What do you do now?
[01:48:23] Speaker D: Okay.
[01:48:26] Speaker B: I can this session I can only miss. Or crit. Those are the only two possibilities.
[01:48:32] Speaker D: I'm going to. Wait. Let me check the distance on this thing. Okay, let's see. I'm gonna look at.
Okay, wait. One, two, three, four. Okay. Yeah, I. Who looks like. Does the guy on the. On the thing. Does he look the most like spellcastery?
[01:48:54] Speaker B: Oh, these two. From your experience with these creatures, these two are clearly the. The.
[01:48:59] Speaker D: Oh, okay. Yeah.
[01:49:01] Speaker B: You have seen them spellcast in person and fought one. You know it's them from me.
[01:49:06] Speaker D: Are they.
[01:49:09] Speaker B: 5? 10, 15, 25? 10, 15, 20, 25, 30.
[01:49:13] Speaker D: Okay, perfect.
[01:49:14] Speaker B: No, 25 and 30.
[01:49:15] Speaker D: So I'm gonna cast at the third level so that I can hit both of them. I'm gonna cast blindness. I mean, deafness on them.
And deafen both of them. Well, they have to make a con save.
Okay, Both of them.
[01:49:37] Speaker B: Are there any. I. I trust you know what you're doing. Curious why you're deafening.
[01:49:44] Speaker D: Because.
[01:49:44] Speaker B: What?
[01:49:44] Speaker D: Wait.
I mean, I know you already rolled, but just for future reference, if they're spellcasters, don't they have to.
[01:49:53] Speaker B: There are verbal components.
If someone plugs up your ears, you still. If they went a couple years without hearing, they probably couldn't do their verbal components anymore. If somebody plugged your ears, you would still know how to say what you needed to say.
It's silence.
That.
[01:50:09] Speaker D: That's right. I always get those mixed up.
[01:50:12] Speaker B: But, but, but, but, but, but.
Side row. They both failed. Okay, so what does it look like as you deafen both of them and they can no longer hear?
[01:50:24] Speaker D: Well, they can't talk. Talk to each other.
[01:50:26] Speaker B: You know what? I've never gotten to use my deafen rings before, and now I get.
[01:50:31] Speaker D: I did that for you. I knew you had it, and I thought, well, here you go.
[01:50:39] Speaker B: This is awkward. I don't even have deafen rings. Only blinded.
[01:50:43] Speaker D: Oops.
[01:50:44] Speaker B: Oops.
[01:50:47] Speaker D: Boss, I have. I have another. Another little.
[01:50:50] Speaker B: I'm gonna put. I'm gonna put blinded rings on them, and it'll signify deafening. Cool. I'm so sorry.
[01:50:57] Speaker D: So as I do that, purple and gold is gonna, like, come out of the loot, and it's gonna, like, go towards them and go, like, into their ears.
[01:51:11] Speaker B: Awesome.
And as they.
[01:51:13] Speaker D: They both.
[01:51:13] Speaker B: They both, like, lift their spells, their staffs in the air, and they just look confused.
[01:51:20] Speaker D: Yeah.
[01:51:20] Speaker B: And they are deafened. Awesome.
[01:51:22] Speaker D: Cool. Love that.
[01:51:24] Speaker B: Any bonus action?
[01:51:25] Speaker D: Yeah, I'm gonna.
Hold on. Where did it go?
Where is that? Right here.
[01:51:36] Speaker B: Okay, and Craig, you're up on deck after this.
[01:51:40] Speaker D: Where is the one that I wanted to use on this?
That is not.
How far away is Spaghuber from me?
[01:51:58] Speaker B: Goober is. He's technically in this space because he's up on the platform. So he's five feet from you. Ooh, he took damage from wave thing.
[01:52:06] Speaker D: So I'm going to use one of my.
[01:52:08] Speaker E: No, he didn't. Zach, he was one square down. You moved him up a square.
[01:52:12] Speaker B: Yeah, because he's been here the whole time. He's on the helm. He should have been back here.
[01:52:15] Speaker E: Oh, if he was there, I wouldn't have moved to where I was. I did what I did because I thought he was one square below.
I would have moved. I was specifically moving to avoid hurting Goober. Like, I would not. I thought. That's why I didn't think he. I heard him the first time, but I didn't realize he switched squares.
[01:52:35] Speaker B: Well, I mean, he was here the whole time.
Never really in this. I didn't move him from here to here. He was here.
[01:52:41] Speaker E: He was within the boundaries of the lower square. I remember seeing that and thinking, oh, he's not at. He's not like, one square higher because then I would hurt him.
[01:52:50] Speaker B: But I bet the damage.
[01:52:51] Speaker E: Okay.
[01:52:52] Speaker B: He's got plenty.
[01:52:53] Speaker E: Okay.
I appreciate entertaining my. Or my.
[01:52:56] Speaker C: My Mr. Boss's energy cube. I thought that was only if someone started his turn.
[01:53:01] Speaker E: Or.
[01:53:03] Speaker B: Yeah, his little force field wave. It goes from seven to three. He's got more than 40 hit points. He's okay.
[01:53:10] Speaker E: Zach. You know, we will throw hands for that. J.
[01:53:13] Speaker B: Man, I respect that you guys love him so much. So Ro, he's. He's on this square at the helm. What are you doing?
[01:53:19] Speaker D: Okay, well, I realized I can't do it. I have to use it as a reaction if someone tries to hit him again. But I can do that. So if anyone wants help, remind me of that.
[01:53:29] Speaker B: So if anyone wants to hitchcoober.
[01:53:31] Speaker D: No, I'm okay. No, so I'm saying. Okay. So anyways, instead of that. Instead of that, I'm gonna use my arcane inspiration, which I don't think I've ever used before. It's part of my college of the old song.
And since I casted a spell when I did that, what it means is just for everyone that to know an ally of your choice within 60ft who can hear your song gains advantage on their next saving throw against a spell or magical effect. For the next minute.
Actually, no, I'm sorry. For the next hour because I'm above level nine, so I'm going to.
Did none of my allies looked bloody, did they?
[01:54:27] Speaker B: No, no one does currently.
[01:54:29] Speaker E: Except Goober. Right.
[01:54:30] Speaker B: And Plaguber looks like he has not been wounded yet.
[01:54:36] Speaker E: Oh, interesting.
[01:54:38] Speaker D: Has.
[01:54:38] Speaker C: I thought you said pl was bloodied.
[01:54:41] Speaker B: Oh, excuse me. PLO's definitely bloodied.
[01:54:43] Speaker D: Sorry.
Oh, do I say do I do it to an NPC or do I do it to a PC? I don't know.
Crap.
[01:54:52] Speaker E: Did y' all hear the sound of hammering? Was that disruptive?
[01:54:55] Speaker B: No. Okay, good.
[01:54:56] Speaker D: No.
[01:54:57] Speaker E: I used a spoon to open up my ginger ale.
Cover up a strength save.
[01:55:04] Speaker D: Okay. I'm going to use it to give advantage to when a spell is cast on them. I'm going to give it to boss because I feel like he's gonna be the most targeted.
[01:55:20] Speaker B: Boss, you have advantage on the next spell save.
Why does it only work on your computer? I don't understand.
[01:55:27] Speaker E: Cuz it's a MacBook. It's a MacBook.
[01:55:29] Speaker C: That's hilarious.
[01:55:30] Speaker D: Oh, see, I don't use my MacBook when we're doing D and D because my streaming.
[01:55:34] Speaker B: Okay, that's awesome, bro. Phenomenal. That's your whole turn, right?
[01:55:37] Speaker D: Cool. Yes. And like I said, boss, you get it. Advantage on your next saving throw against a spell or magical effect for the next hour.
[01:55:46] Speaker B: Boz. Watching the two priests become deafened. That same wave of magic wraps around you and fills you with a heightened awareness as the old song reverberates in your ears and you feel more aware of arcana. Craig, it is your turn.
Okay.
[01:56:02] Speaker A: Can't believe I'm going to do the exact way.
Oh shoot. I'm really?
[01:56:08] Speaker B: Makes sense. I see your logic, Jackie.
[01:56:14] Speaker D: They can't talk to each other, so it's fine.
[01:56:16] Speaker A: You know, my movement is 35.
[01:56:21] Speaker B: Your movement is 25 because you're. Remember it was 35 when you were a barbarian because you got plus 10 from the 25. But you're not a barbarian anymore. So remember, your movement is 25.
Right? Right.
Okay, so you could go 5, 10, and then up the ladder is another 10 because it's 10ft up and you know is 20. And then you could have another 5.
So you could. You could come up the ladder and then move into one of these three.
[01:56:45] Speaker A: I'm going to do that.
I'm going to do that. I'm going to move up the ladder.
[01:56:49] Speaker B: Where do you want to go from there?
[01:56:51] Speaker A: I'm going to move between O.
I'm going to move to the.
I'm gonna move to the left because those black pieces are the bad guys. Right?
[01:57:02] Speaker B: Left. Is this to you, right?
[01:57:05] Speaker A: Yes.
And I want to attack.
[01:57:10] Speaker B: This is just. Can this be two rolls to hit.
[01:57:12] Speaker A: Two rolls to hit. Wonderful.
[01:57:14] Speaker B: Two rolls to hit. Bohemian.
[01:57:18] Speaker A: That is.
[01:57:19] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[01:57:20] Speaker A: That's a hit.
What do I add to roll to hit?
[01:57:24] Speaker B: Forget your plus 10. Your weapon bonus.
[01:57:27] Speaker A: Right, My attack bonus. So that'd be 18.
[01:57:32] Speaker B: That will hit.
[01:57:34] Speaker A: That's 12.
[01:57:38] Speaker B: That will not hit. You hit with one. Because apparently people can only hit with one attack in this combat, no matter who they are, no matter how high their bonuses are. Those are the rules.
Yeah.
[01:57:49] Speaker A: So with what I have to attack, I am going to do.
I want to do two D6 plus six.
No, I want to do blind.
[01:58:02] Speaker B: Do it.
[01:58:03] Speaker A: Yeah, I want to do.
[01:58:05] Speaker D: Ooh.
[01:58:10] Speaker A: Wait, hold on.
[01:58:11] Speaker B: Oh, Nickel's thinking.
[01:58:19] Speaker A: No, I'll do. I'll do blind. I'll do the blinding spine.
[01:58:23] Speaker B: Okay. What kind of saving throw is that for me?
[01:58:27] Speaker A: So that. Oh, this is Divine Smite. My bad. Divine Smite is gonna be a saving, saving throw.
[01:58:34] Speaker B: Oh, no, no. If you're doing so.
[01:58:36] Speaker A: Wait, no, I'm sorry. Divine Sm. My feet.
Yes, Divine Smite is my feet.
[01:58:45] Speaker E: I'll smite you with my feet.
[01:58:47] Speaker A: I will smite you with these dogs.
[01:58:51] Speaker E: And boy, they're barking.
[01:58:56] Speaker A: Okay, so sorry.
[01:58:59] Speaker B: Hoffa was locked out somehow. Are you saying no?
[01:59:02] Speaker A: Oh, poor girl. So I'm using Divine Smart because it doesn't take.
[01:59:06] Speaker B: Okay, there's no saving throw with Divine Spine. It just works. Yeah, you just. You deal the damage. So what's the total damage? You deal.
[01:59:13] Speaker A: So I'm gonna do it.
[01:59:15] Speaker B: All three people are not looking.
[01:59:17] Speaker A: I'm gonna do it at third level.
[01:59:20] Speaker B: Third level. Okay, that's 48 for you.
[01:59:24] Speaker A: Yeah, 48.
So it's 48 plus 46 plus 6.
[01:59:30] Speaker B: Well, 2D6. Cuz you hit with one attack. One attack.
[01:59:34] Speaker A: You're right.
[01:59:35] Speaker B: So 2D6 plus 48 plus 6.
After this, it's the priest, then it's Spagober, then it's back around. Dello and Pl. And Greta.
So, Abby, your time's coming back around.
[01:59:49] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:59:51] Speaker B: Yep.
[01:59:54] Speaker A: Okay. Okay, hold on. And then it was 48. You said.
[02:00:05] Speaker B: 48.
Dang it.
[02:00:15] Speaker A: Those aren't good numbers.
So that would be. Okay, 12 and then that would be 7, 10. 12.
[02:00:28] Speaker B: So that would be 24, 34 or 24?
[02:00:34] Speaker A: 24.
[02:00:35] Speaker B: 24. 24 to this one.
Oh, no. Math.
Nope.
Okay, Craig, as you slash as he dodges out of the way of the one, and you catch him with the other with Star Splinter with Blue Fire coming Out of the side.
He looks bloodied. Looks like you hurt him pretty badly.
[02:01:00] Speaker A: Okay.
[02:01:00] Speaker B: Okay.
Anything else with your turn?
[02:01:07] Speaker A: I am going to try to.
Trying to see if any of my feats like. Or protection or Abby.
[02:01:19] Speaker B: Okay.
Okay. Well, as you think, it's it. Okay.
[02:01:27] Speaker A: Yeah.
[02:01:27] Speaker B: Now it's the priest's turn. Now, they can do a lot of things this turn, but they cannot do. They cannot hear. If someone needs to tell them an important message, they get a text from a loved one, they're going to have no. No idea. If somebody. If somebody use sending on them right now, they wouldn't know. Okay? That's what matters.
[02:01:49] Speaker E: Sending. Actually, something in your brain, I don't think it's.
[02:01:51] Speaker B: Yeah.
[02:01:52] Speaker D: Would that work?
[02:01:53] Speaker B: Never mind. Jackie, you can't even keep them from hearing sending get dunked on. The other player said, not today. Not today.
[02:02:00] Speaker D: They can't yell at each other though.
[02:02:03] Speaker B: This one is gonna step five feet forward and gonna use a mask. Cure wounds.
So he lifts up his staff and shouts an authoritative phrase to Carcon. And this magic, like fire, pulses out.
[02:02:18] Speaker D: Do I know what they say?
[02:02:20] Speaker B: Yes.
Yes, Ro. On the upper deck, you hear him shout, glory to the dawning God. And as he slams the staff down, there's this like, wait, wave of fire that like, heals all of those on deck. And he's going to heal everyone up deck. Yep. What level spell did he use?
[02:02:39] Speaker E: Sorry, even US massacre wounds can only target six people.
[02:02:44] Speaker B: Okay. Excuse me. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. He heals everyone up deck.
[02:02:49] Speaker E: Oh, I thought that I was counting the dinosaur.
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.
[02:02:53] Speaker B: Oh, you're right.
[02:02:54] Speaker E: There's seven of them.
[02:02:54] Speaker B: So not the gulper. Importantly, not the gulper.
I mean, that's an important clarification. Thank you, boss.
He heals them.
He heals them.
Wisdom three.
That's six, ten, eighteen points. So everyone but himself and the gulper take eighteen points of healing.
So the Federer is looking really good.
The assassin who is bloodied, is taken almost up to full.
The assassin who was not is taken almost up to full.
30. This is hard.
No, 42. Math is hard. Okay, and then. I'm sorry, guys, this is. Could I get some commentary while I do some math really quickly? I apologize.
[02:03:55] Speaker A: Yeah, absolutely.
[02:03:58] Speaker E: Oh, no, Micah, that.
[02:03:59] Speaker A: Do you have any coffee brands that you really.
[02:04:07] Speaker E: I'm. I'm more of a. Oh, what's that brand?
[02:04:11] Speaker D: Are you talking about, like, for home or, like, for. Not for, like, going out?
[02:04:16] Speaker E: Yeah. Okay.
[02:04:17] Speaker A: No, I'm gonna bring it to work.
[02:04:19] Speaker E: I love Folgers Folgers. Is the best.
[02:04:22] Speaker A: That's disgusting.
[02:04:23] Speaker D: Went with Folgers.
[02:04:25] Speaker E: Folgers.
[02:04:25] Speaker C: Noble coyote at work.
[02:04:30] Speaker E: Soldiers in my cup.
[02:04:32] Speaker B: Okay, thank you guys for your patience.
The gulper is still looking fairly rough. The Federer looks excellent. The other priest is taken almost up to full. Both of these crushers. This one's take. This one's taken to full. And this one's taken almost up to full. This one's almost up to full and this one's looking really good. So everyone on deck is massively healed.
This one is going to step.
He'll get all the way in the fray. He'll be brave. He'll get right up next to Boss does.
No, no, that's a bad idea.
[02:05:08] Speaker E: Yeah, that's not a good idea.
[02:05:12] Speaker B: He can hit 5, 10, 15. No, he still gets everybody. Everybody's in 15. Yeah, he'll stand right there and he's gonna lift up his staff, slam it down and row. You hear this one shout about how all will wither in the glory of the dawn.
And he is going to cast spirit levels on themselves at fifth level. Spirit guardians.
This one. Okay, so ethereal images of Kuo Toan warriors surround spinning imminent circles. And every. Every fungi on the upper deck is in wreathed in that shape and moment.
And so that means he's concentrating.
Okay, next up initiative is Spaghuber, who I'm not forgetting this time, and Captain Spaguber.
[02:06:05] Speaker C: Captain.
[02:06:16] Speaker B: He is going to from behind the deck, sort of like shaking and nervous, holding on to the the helm. He looks around and he says, okay, okay. You're one of the fun guys. You're one of the fun guys. He pulls out his book and he's just like stuttering and he's like nervously correcting the courts of the ship, which is not the priority right now.
[02:06:36] Speaker A: Poor guy.
[02:06:38] Speaker B: Abcdefghi, please don't be wrong about this. Let me do one thing right here, please.
[02:06:46] Speaker C: How Spaghra's voice kind of changed, huh?
[02:06:48] Speaker B: He's.
He's gonna weave around the helm, reach over the railing and he's just gonna go. You got this, Baz. And he's gonna tap you on the shoulder and he's going to.
No. Is that even the best use of his stuff right now? You know, it's not.
It's not.
I'm sorry. This is not what he's built for.
Yeah, no, he's gonna do something. He casts invisibility on Boss and Boss is invisible.
So wow. The no one has advantage to hit you right now. And whatever. If you take a melee Attack. Next boss. Not that you need to, but if you do, you have advantage on that attack. So boss just disappears as Spaghuber speaks, mutters, like, some arcane terms, and you watch a little band of, like, pink sigils just flash around his arm really quickly. And as it works, Shibuber gets a little smile on his face, and you get the feeling that he's tried that spell a couple times before, and it hasn't worked.
Boz just wink it.
[02:07:56] Speaker E: I imagine, like, Boz becomes invisible like the Cheshire cat. And, like. Like, right before his head goes away, he, like, smiles and winks at Shba.
[02:08:02] Speaker B: Goober as he wings the wings back at you. And then he turns and he looks at the high priest, who can't understand him, and he goes, oh, you guys are so screwed.
And she's like, what? Next initiative, we go up to the top two.
You guys are so screwed. And next initiative, we go back to the top with Tello.
[02:08:22] Speaker C: Tell is, why are we doing that?
[02:08:29] Speaker B: What's up, Tello?
What's up, Tello? What's up?
[02:08:33] Speaker C: He's gonna.
[02:08:36] Speaker B: Okay, that makes sense. At advantage, right?
[02:08:39] Speaker C: Well, yeah.
[02:08:44] Speaker B: Go ahead and make that bad advantage. I mean, I don't. I can't say a lot of things with confidence, but I can say with 100% clarity, this Kuoa dies this turn.
[02:08:54] Speaker C: That is gonna be a 13th.
[02:08:56] Speaker D: They might not.
[02:08:58] Speaker B: Now that you said 18 will hit.
[02:09:08] Speaker C: That is going to be.
Wait.
[02:09:14] Speaker B: Howy dirty duty. How do you want to do this? How do you want to do this?
[02:09:19] Speaker C: Seven plus four.
[02:09:22] Speaker B: How do you want to do this?
[02:09:23] Speaker C: It's 11. Only 11.
[02:09:25] Speaker B: Cool. How do you want to do this?
[02:09:26] Speaker C: Okay.
[02:09:28] Speaker B: I've never had to convince a player to accept that. How do you want to do this before? That was a first.
I.
[02:09:36] Speaker C: I don't know. You played it. Take it away.
[02:09:39] Speaker B: Okay.
[02:09:40] Speaker C: Yeah, take it away.
[02:09:42] Speaker B: The priest, this Kuo toa, its arm having been severed, just takes a desperate stare and takes one. One last glare at Greta as if it knew what it was down here for, raises up the spear again to try and jab down into you. And Tello just goes, no. And he, like. He, like, steps back, kind of squatting down to a side, gets a full stance where he's got the blade, the hilt, turned into his chest, as if he's been learning quite a bit from fencing practice with Ro. And he just lunges forward with all of his strength.
And as he jabs forward, he jabs the rapier into the guy's arm. Just thinking about saving Greta, but through sheer Luck. The rapier goes right in between the intersection of the bicep and the humerus and just stabs through it and just up into the Kuo Toa's eye, into that eye that was exposed. And as it disappears into the eye, the Kuo Toa just.
And blood just pours out of both. And Tello just pulls the rapier back out.
And as the Kuo Toa dies, he goes, sorry. And then what else does he do with the rest of his turn?
[02:10:50] Speaker C: He's gonna run up the ladder. Use all of his movements to run up the ladder.
[02:10:57] Speaker B: And up. He's up here. As he gets up the ladder, he goes, oh, it's a little better up here.
[02:11:01] Speaker D: Tello, the only rogue to ever say sorry.
[02:11:05] Speaker B: Yes.
[02:11:09] Speaker C: He is going to step.
How much movement?
[02:11:14] Speaker D: Wait, so he's 15.
[02:11:16] Speaker B: He has 15 left.
[02:11:18] Speaker C: He's 15 left.
Okay. I'm thinking.
[02:11:27] Speaker B: So he can go here, here, here, here, and then further either of those directions.
[02:11:36] Speaker C: So DM, if you do flanking like.
[02:11:40] Speaker D: Like, if I move two people on.
[02:11:41] Speaker C: Either side, five and I 15 left.
[02:11:47] Speaker B: What was. Was that a question?
[02:11:48] Speaker C: Yes. Do I.
[02:11:51] Speaker E: Oh. Speed is halved in spirit guardian range, by the way.
[02:11:55] Speaker B: Oh, that's important. Thank you, Landon. Okay, he has five feet of movement, essentially this square. This square? This square or this square?
This one.
[02:12:05] Speaker C: No, next to the.
[02:12:12] Speaker A: No, the.
[02:12:12] Speaker C: Yes, right next to it.
[02:12:14] Speaker B: Okay.
[02:12:15] Speaker C: Nope.
[02:12:15] Speaker B: Excellent.
Okay.
Okay.
[02:12:21] Speaker C: Yes.
[02:12:21] Speaker B: Okay. Also, can he give me a wisdom saving throw?
He's about to get spirit guardian.
Oh, man.
[02:12:31] Speaker C: That's a two.
[02:12:34] Speaker B: Oh, I thought that was a seven. It was a one. Okay. He fails.
And he takes 1, 3, 10, 15, 21 points of nicotine necrotic damage as the ethereal Kuo Toan warriors bear into him and start slashing away at him until, like, kind of stumbles forward past them.
[02:12:57] Speaker C: Yeah.
[02:12:58] Speaker B: Next up in Initiative is Ploth. She is going to begin by making a wisdom saving throw.
[02:13:02] Speaker E: Oh, she might die.
[02:13:06] Speaker B: She fails.
[02:13:07] Speaker D: Oh, God.
[02:13:10] Speaker B: And pl is going to take.
Wow, I rolled real bad.
4, 7.
From a fifth level Spirit Guardians cloth takes 12 points of damage.
That's crazy. How bad that roar was the world's barrel by her. And attack her as well. She's going to take two attacks. The Kuo in front of her. And you hear her now. She doesn't. She doesn't say anything. She just grits her tusks against her teeth and growls, defiant to make her life matter. That is a Nat one on one roll. That is my seventh, not one of the night. And my second roll was a seven.
So as the Kuo Toaan ethereal warriors dig into her, both of her attacks are just wild.
Each time she goes to try and hit the Kuo Toa in front of her, it's like one of the ethereal images come by and cuts her magically with necrotic energy and both of her attacks. Ms. Plass looking pretty rough.
She definitely looks bloodied.
Next up in the Initiative is Greta, who is gone right now.
[02:14:20] Speaker E: So it's your turn.
[02:14:22] Speaker B: She's back.
[02:14:22] Speaker C: Okay, Greta.
[02:14:24] Speaker B: Greta, what are you doing?
[02:14:25] Speaker C: Going to run a full ladder.
[02:14:28] Speaker B: Okay. 5, 10, 10 up. That's 20. You can move one more to any of these spaces.
[02:14:34] Speaker C: Okay. I'm gonna be in between O.
[02:14:39] Speaker B: Right here?
[02:14:40] Speaker C: Yes.
[02:14:40] Speaker B: Okay. Also, could you give me a wisdom table?
Wow. A very even spread.
[02:14:53] Speaker C: That's touchy.
[02:14:55] Speaker B: I mean, you're really good at those. You're freaking good at wisdom. Saves.
[02:15:01] Speaker C: 19.
[02:15:03] Speaker B: Yeah, that saves. So you're gonna take half of six plus eight.
14. Five is 19.
You take nine points of necrotic damage as the ethereal warriors dig into you and slash at you. What else are you doing in your turn?
[02:15:22] Speaker A: Oh, I forgot.
[02:15:23] Speaker B: That is a look at all of the people there on the top of the deck as warriors are bailing by. Their necrotic energy is degrading and just. Just shredding. All the flowers growing out of the deck are dying.
[02:15:35] Speaker D: So rude.
[02:15:37] Speaker B: And they're even, like, chipping and breaking. The wood goes by as it sort of like, withers and blackens.
[02:15:42] Speaker D: I'm gonna have to mend this boat piece by piece.
[02:15:48] Speaker B: Ahead.
And then after Greta, it's going to be another round of kuoa and then bill free. And then it will be boss. Boss will be up after that.
[02:15:57] Speaker C: No. You know what?
Is it too late to say I moved from.
[02:16:03] Speaker B: Yes.
[02:16:04] Speaker C: Okay, I'm going to cast guiding bolt on the rings.
Is one of them.
[02:16:13] Speaker E: Right in front of me as possible.
[02:16:14] Speaker B: This one is concentrating. There's a kuoa in between you and them.
You don't have line of sight. I mean, you can kind of see them, but you have. You have a. You have creatures in between you and this priest. You and this priest. And then I'd say you have line of sight on this crusher. You could do this crusher, though. You're melee with them. And then this assassin. And this assassin.
[02:16:34] Speaker C: I can't see the priest.
[02:16:36] Speaker B: I mean, there's a person in between you, so you can't spell cast through another creature.
[02:16:42] Speaker C: Okay.
[02:16:44] Speaker B: You don't have line of sight. I mean, you can. You could like your head and kind of see him, but there's a creature in front of you. Okay.
[02:16:52] Speaker C: Then I will.
[02:16:55] Speaker D: The guy on top.
[02:16:59] Speaker E: What?
[02:16:59] Speaker B: I heard the girdos. The guy probably not. What you said.
[02:17:03] Speaker E: I can't.
[02:17:03] Speaker B: The guy on top here of the dinosaur.
Oh, here. Oh, okay. Okay. This is what level of guiding Bolt you said.
[02:17:11] Speaker C: I am gonna.
[02:17:17] Speaker B: Okay, that's a roll to hit.
[02:17:25] Speaker C: Can I use my inspiration on a roll to hit?
[02:17:29] Speaker B: Yeah, sure.
Okay. That is a dirty, dirty 20 will hit.
Go ahead and roll damage for me.
[02:17:40] Speaker C: Yes.
[02:17:42] Speaker B: Against the Federer, if I've been correctly recording everyone's rule. But I'm doing my best.
It's a lot to manage this concept combat.
[02:18:01] Speaker A: You're doing good.
[02:18:03] Speaker B: Thank you.
[02:18:06] Speaker E: I thought the Kuatoa, the regular ones go after me. What was their initiative?
[02:18:10] Speaker B: They are after Gret.
The Federer and the Gulper are after Greta. And then the Assassins and the Crushers are after you.
[02:18:18] Speaker E: That makes sense. Yes, yes, yes, yes. That makes sense.
[02:18:21] Speaker B: I got you back, Bohemian 30. 30.
[02:18:25] Speaker C: Yeah.
[02:18:26] Speaker B: That's a lot of damage.
[02:18:27] Speaker C: I rolled below. Okay, Greta, like.
[02:18:37] Speaker B: I'm not sure what that last thing you said was, but with 30 damage, is it just like another green bolt of energy from your symbol?
Okay, she's distracted. The green bolt of energy flies into the Federer. That fetter is lit up with light around them. And so the next attack has advantage against them.
After the. After Greta, it goes to the Federer and the gulper.
So the gulper is going to move. Well, it's right next to.
[02:19:08] Speaker E: You're muted.
[02:19:08] Speaker B: She is muted, but this is the way, Abby, you've muted yourself. And if you can't hear us, you don't know you're muted. Okay, you. Him.
So the gulper is going to take an attack at. Oh, and actually it's flanking, so it's going to take an advantage attack at Tello.
That's a NAT one on nine. Good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good.
And then the other one is not high enough. So as these huge jaws take a bite, Tello just ducks down and goes, I regret coming up deck. So that's the gulper's turn now. It's a real bummer that Abby has left because he was going to attack Greta because she just shot him. So now he's just not going to. Because I don't want to affect a player who's not here.
Boss is invisible, so he doesn't know what's up with that.
I'll say. He takes his attack at probably Craig. He's seen Craig do some Damage.
So we're going to roll one. Roll the hit against Craig. Ooh, that is a 25 to hit. And then the other one is an 18.
[02:20:09] Speaker A: Both hit, right, Craig, you know they hit.
[02:20:15] Speaker B: I do know they hit.
[02:20:17] Speaker A: You know they hit.
[02:20:19] Speaker B: That is going to be 16 points. No, 20 points of piercing damage.
Plus seven.
Six. Plus seven is 13. That is 37 points of damage, 17 of which are fire. Craig, two bolts just into you. Two arrows as he has got my sins. Fires twice at you, and fire is creeping up your shoulders.
You've been shot with two flaming arrows.
[02:20:48] Speaker A: Oh, no.
Looks like I have to absorb some of that damage.
[02:20:58] Speaker B: How much of that damage do you absorb?
[02:21:00] Speaker A: Let me look at my stat real quick. Of what it would say. I think it's 3D12 that I like, absorb.
[02:21:09] Speaker B: I want to say. So it's a lot. It's a freaking strong item.
[02:21:12] Speaker A: Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
There is so much information. Hold on.
Okay, that's the extension of it, the extending. Okay, so 3D12.
That's great.
[02:21:30] Speaker B: Okay, one hits, one misses. Why is this happening? Crazy.
[02:21:35] Speaker A: Okay, so that would be 19.
[02:21:38] Speaker B: 19 reduced by 19. Instead of taking 37 damage, Craig, you take what? Somebody help me out.
[02:21:46] Speaker A: What is that, accountant? I call on you?
[02:21:51] Speaker D: 18.
[02:21:52] Speaker B: 18, right? 18. Yeah. 18 damage. Nice, Jackie. 18 damage instead. And you have 19 damage stored in the shield to use back.
[02:22:01] Speaker A: So he said 18 is what?
[02:22:03] Speaker B: I have 18 damage.
Yeah, you took 18 damage. 18 damage is the damage you took. And you have 19 damage stored in your shield.
That's incredible. Craig, what does it look like as the shield absorbs some of that damage?
[02:22:16] Speaker A: I'm gonna say that the fire kind.
[02:22:18] Speaker B: Of crystal buckler, that small crystal shield.
[02:22:21] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm gonna say that, like, the fire almost heats up the crystal. And you can see, you know, when crystal's hot and, like, it's still, like, it's this orange, it becomes orange, and then it, like, cools down and it is brighter now. It's like. Like it's a shade brighter and brighter. Almost a little blinding.
[02:22:42] Speaker B: That's awesome, Micah. And as it. As it, like, absorbs the heat and then brightens, the fire goes out on your shoulders. The Kuo Toa assassin in front of you is just like, wait. He's like, I'm out of my depth. What happened?
Awesome. So that is the Federer's turn.
Also check whether or not you have to roll the damage on refraction or if it's just automatically lightning. Go ahead and read that detail for me. On his turn, Bill Free, who's Up next is going to. While you were doing that, he goes, 5, 10, 15, up 20 over 5, because that's all he can go. He gets up deck and he goes, oh, what are you guys doing up there? I mean, just terrified by the number of enemies. That was a stupid thing to say. But he comes up the deck, moves across, pulls it out of Zach, starts fighting. The next thing he rolled. A miss on one attack, a hit on another, but then an 8 on the damage. That's 11 damage to the Kuo Toa gulper, which is starting to look bloodied as Bill Free embeds the axe in its jaw and pulls it out.
[02:23:36] Speaker E: Out.
[02:23:37] Speaker B: He then already made his wisdom saving wisdom save and failed with a NAT one, because that's just what I'm doing today. That's eight NAT ones.
That's crazy.
And he takes a lot of damage.
8, 16, 21. 24 points of necrotic damage from the rushing ethereal figures that race by him.
Bill 3 hasn't taken any damage yet. Very suddenly, he looks almost bloodied.
57. Okay, excellent. 37.
So next up in Initiative, after Bill Free is Boz. Then it's the Assassins and the Crushers, and then back to Ro Blas. You're up.
[02:24:20] Speaker E: Hey, Zach, on my subclass abilities, I have the thing where I can sacrifice spell slots to heal people, but you don't say what it is. If it's an action or a reaction or a bonus action.
[02:24:33] Speaker B: Yes, yes. Sorry, that was a mistake from a long time ago. We talked about. It is an action.
And if you would make that change in your notes, it's very bad that I still have it that way. I'm sorry.
[02:24:42] Speaker E: No, I'm sorry. I think I've updated my. I forgot to update it.
[02:24:46] Speaker B: Well, I mean, I should never have given it to you.
[02:24:48] Speaker E: When's the next player going after me?
[02:24:52] Speaker B: Yes, the next person after you is Ro. After the other.
[02:24:55] Speaker E: So all the Kuo Toa get a turn before Healing gets a chance to come in.
[02:24:59] Speaker B: Yes. Yes.
[02:25:00] Speaker E: Okay, great. That sucks.
Yeah, I had a big AOE thing, but I will.
Can boss get behind?
I don't know what to do, man.
[02:25:17] Speaker B: You're the. These.
You can only move to these three squares or this way. I mean, you're. You're. Oh, and also, could you make a wisdom statement?
[02:25:24] Speaker E: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[02:25:26] Speaker D: Does it. Does it affect him since he's invisible?
[02:25:29] Speaker E: They don't have to see.
[02:25:31] Speaker B: Yeah.
What'd you say?
[02:25:37] Speaker E: 21. Well, guiding bolt on me, you.
[02:25:41] Speaker B: You definitely saved.
Let's see.
Oh, shoot.
Good thing you saved. That was a lot of damage.
1421 would have been 29 points of necrotic.
Instead goes down to 14. 14 necrotic, boss.
[02:26:00] Speaker E: Okay, so the.
[02:26:03] Speaker B: The ethereal figure looks something that no one can see.
[02:26:08] Speaker E: Boz looks bloodied.
[02:26:09] Speaker D: Oh, great. Great.
[02:26:11] Speaker B: Well, boss doesn't look bloody, but if anyone could see him from. No interest. Like from the air blood is just falling down and spattering is your groans.
[02:26:19] Speaker E: From a non existent source.
All right, Boz the priest pops out.
Oh, you know what? I just realized something. Zachary H.
Oh, I love this. This is so cool.
So my. My subass ability is not a spell.
It's not a leveled spell. Right. So I could still do that and then bonus action.
[02:26:44] Speaker B: Correct. Yeah. If it's not a leveled spell, you can do it. Absolutely.
[02:26:47] Speaker E: All right, so I'm going to sacrifice one of my fifth level spell slot. Wait, let me see how many I have left. Actually, if I have only one more.
So that one's gone.
I have. I. I drew. It has two levels. Two fifth level spell slots right at your level?
[02:27:08] Speaker B: I believe so. Because by the time you have the 6th and the 7th, stop having things work. That's so fun. Why do you get that? I want that. Oh, you held that? The peace sign in balloons went everywhere.
[02:27:17] Speaker E: I didn't know.
[02:27:18] Speaker B: Yes, you have two fifth levels. Because by the time you have a seventh level, you have two fifth levels.
[02:27:21] Speaker E: All right, so I'm going to. I'm going to sacrifice the spell slot of the fifth level as my action, and I'm going to target myself.
[02:27:31] Speaker B: Okay.
[02:27:31] Speaker E: I'm going to target Ploth and Bill free.
[02:27:36] Speaker B: Oh, heck, yeah.
[02:27:36] Speaker E: And Craig just took a bunch of damage to Roe and Greta have not. Y' all have not been hit. Like, I didn't see them.
[02:27:43] Speaker A: Totally. Okay.
[02:27:44] Speaker D: And hit my head and have one point of damage. We're good.
[02:27:48] Speaker E: All right. Okay.
So, yeah, I'm gonna target Bill Free, Ploth myself and who else? I guess I could do this as.
[02:27:58] Speaker D: A fourth level spell tallow.
[02:28:01] Speaker B: Okay.
[02:28:01] Speaker D: Or does tell it look bloodied?
[02:28:04] Speaker B: No one has said.
[02:28:08] Speaker E: I'm gonna target Tello just to make sure.
[02:28:10] Speaker B: And this is blessing in the first flame, right?
[02:28:13] Speaker E: Yes. And then I'm bloody. Yeah. I'm sacrificing the spell slot. And then I'm gonna target Craig just because.
[02:28:20] Speaker A: Okay.
[02:28:20] Speaker E: And I'm gonna try to. Can I move behind Spaghuber when I do it?
[02:28:24] Speaker B: Okay. I would say no, except you have a climb speed, so you could climb straight up the railing and just. If you. You could like jump over him.
[02:28:35] Speaker E: I'll do that.
[02:28:36] Speaker B: If you. If, if you give me an acrobatics check. DC5, you get over.
[02:28:40] Speaker E: Okay.
[02:28:41] Speaker B: And if you fail, you don't fail the move, you just fall over. That's it.
[02:28:45] Speaker E: All right.
That is. Where's my BO?
[02:28:53] Speaker B: Haha.
[02:28:53] Speaker E: I rolled a 2, but I have a plus 5, so that is 7.
[02:28:57] Speaker B: 7.
Yeah. You succeed, you climb up the railing and jump over for Goober with the sound. The Kuo Toa slightly perceives you're leaving. So there's an attack of opportunity. But it's a disadvantage because you still get attack of opportunities against invisible creatures. But they're disadvantaged.
[02:29:12] Speaker E: You do.
[02:29:13] Speaker B: That is. Yes, you do. And amazingly, my ninth NAT one of the night, he misses.
[02:29:19] Speaker A: No, you're kidding.
[02:29:21] Speaker B: And this guy does not get an attack of opportunity against you because you are across this space here. So no attack of opportunity for them. Nine. Nine, not ones. That's amazing. Okay.
[02:29:35] Speaker E: All right, so I'm going to do that sacrifice fifth level spell slot. And so that means that everybody that I just said it gets 5D6 healing, which is not a ton, but I get to add some cool stuff to it after. So that's fun. 5D6. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
Oh, that is some good healing.
That is 27 plus 27 points of healing. Plus 6. So that's 33 then. Plus.
[02:30:04] Speaker B: 3.
[02:30:04] Speaker E: I did. I rolled three sixes, a 5 and a 4 and then add six sets. That's 33. And then I rolled two D4.
That's amazing.
I. That is. Zachary. 39 points of healing total to each person that I that I named.
[02:30:23] Speaker B: That's.
[02:30:24] Speaker D: Each of Those people get 39 points of healing.
[02:30:28] Speaker E: Yes.
[02:30:28] Speaker A: So what happens if that's above my max?
[02:30:31] Speaker E: You just go to your max.
[02:30:32] Speaker B: You're up. You're up to full.
[02:30:33] Speaker D: Are those temperance.
[02:30:35] Speaker B: Did you name in a healing with. Where people do. In a campaign where people do this little healing? Micah said, what happens when I go above my maximum healing?
[02:30:43] Speaker D: Are those temporary or is that.
[02:30:46] Speaker E: No, if they hit your. That's healing. If they hit your max, then you just stay at your max.
All right. And so bonus action. He's going to vicious. Yes.
[02:30:56] Speaker B: Bill, Free, Plop and Spookober are all up to full.
[02:30:59] Speaker D: Yay.
[02:31:00] Speaker E: Do you. I named me Tello, Bill, Free Cloth and. And Craig, you said Goober had a notch and looked fine. You said he looked fine.
[02:31:14] Speaker B: Yeah.
[02:31:14] Speaker E: Right.
[02:31:14] Speaker B: Okay. Excellent, excellent. No problem. I mean he still looks good.
Okay, so Craig, you took the 39. Thank you for the Correction.
[02:31:24] Speaker E: And then I vicious mockery the guy.
[02:31:27] Speaker B: Who is the guy? There are.
[02:31:29] Speaker E: That's concentrating. That's concentrated.
[02:31:31] Speaker B: Excellent, excellent.
So go ahead and roll the 3D4, please.
[02:31:36] Speaker E: And I'm no longer invisible, I assume, right?
[02:31:39] Speaker B: Oh, yes, yes, that is true.
Thank you.
I will roll the save. That's not bad, actually.
I'm so accustomed to it being awful.
[02:31:51] Speaker E: What did you roll?
[02:31:53] Speaker B: That is a 21 on the safe.
[02:31:58] Speaker E: Yes, he does save. What does that mean? I don't think. I think that just means nothing happens.
[02:32:04] Speaker B: Or is it half damage?
[02:32:05] Speaker E: No, no, it's not half damage. It's just nothing happens.
[02:32:07] Speaker B: Okay, okay. Well, you get to insult him. How do you insult him?
[02:32:11] Speaker E: I say, I don't know, man. Say.
I just. I just call him stinky. Again, I don't know.
[02:32:19] Speaker B: Okay, not understanding your leg does not affect him.
And wait. Okay, Zachary, very important.
[02:32:28] Speaker E: This is hilarious. He's deafened, so the spell does not affect him. That I can no longer vicious mockery this guy.
He is deafened, so I can no longer bonus action to take their concentration.
I love that.
[02:32:46] Speaker B: Phenomenal. Oh, my goodness. I love it. Yes. Never mind. You. You whip out a scathing insult to his very core, and you just go, no, he can't hear me.
[02:32:58] Speaker D: I'm so amazing.
Wait, is their turn. Is their turn next?
[02:33:04] Speaker B: No.
Okay, but it is a long time later.
[02:33:08] Speaker D: Okay, on their turn, they make.
At the end of their turns, they make a concentration.
[02:33:14] Speaker E: You can just drop concentration.
[02:33:16] Speaker D: It's not concentration, but they have to make another turn.
[02:33:20] Speaker B: No problem.
[02:33:21] Speaker D: Con save. Yeah.
[02:33:22] Speaker B: Jackie's just like, please, like, please make my spell go away.
[02:33:25] Speaker D: I'm like, please make it go away.
Please make this mistake.
[02:33:30] Speaker B: And Boz, what does it look like as you use sacrifice of the first line for the first time, and fire heals everyone?
[02:33:35] Speaker E: There's like, I don't know, Zach, can you flavor it for me? For some reason, my mind is not doing well right now.
[02:33:42] Speaker B: Boz lifts up a hand and shouts in deep and deepest deep magic as his eyes light up gold and fire sprouts in his hand and then spreads down his arm in a wave just like this. Golden. No problem. No problem.
[02:33:56] Speaker E: I know.
[02:33:57] Speaker B: Like a golden wave of fire burns away from him and all the kuoa flinch away. But as it. As it burns over, it heals all of you all and your wounds. And you feel heat over the part of you that is hurt. And you all are each like this gold. This tiny little tongues of golden fire stay burning on your clothes, very much baptized by fire.
[02:34:17] Speaker A: Pentecostal.
[02:34:18] Speaker B: Okay, that's B's turn now. A bunch of crushers and assassins. Go.
So this assassin is going to attack Craig.
One attack, no advantage. Roll the two.
[02:34:29] Speaker D: Hold on.
[02:34:31] Speaker B: Oh.
[02:34:35] Speaker D: What did you already roll?
[02:34:37] Speaker B: Huh?
[02:34:38] Speaker D: Okay, so then. Never mind.
I can't do it.
[02:34:43] Speaker B: So, yeah, this assassin's gonna attack Ro.
Oh.
[02:34:50] Speaker D: Can I use a reaction?
Wait, I'm gonna use a re. My reaction to that. May I? To use my protective wings.
[02:35:00] Speaker B: Can you use them on yourself?
[02:35:02] Speaker D: It said, I didn't think you could. But it says when you are another creature, you can see when the five feet of you is hit by attack.
So I'm going to use my reaction to manifest spectral wings from my back. They're going to be gold. Da da da da da. You grant? I grant a bonus to the target's AC, equal to my proficiency bonus. So that's my AC. So I get a bonus of 5. So that makes my AC 18.
[02:35:30] Speaker B: As the spectral draconic wings wrap around you and. And cover in front of you, the knife just barely threads between them with a 21.
Except that. Craig, are you using your reaction for protection?
[02:35:44] Speaker A: I have to be five feet away.
[02:35:46] Speaker D: We are.
[02:35:47] Speaker B: It's a good thing you're five feet away.
[02:35:50] Speaker A: Are we actually. Okay, I can use that for her. I can't use it on myself, but I can use it.
[02:35:57] Speaker B: And as the blade flies in between the rings row. Your eyes widen as you watch the blade with your eyes. And Craig's buckler shield, because the wings are spectral, just passes through the wings, catches it, and the crystal just reflects. Reflects the knife.
[02:36:12] Speaker D: That's cool.
[02:36:13] Speaker B: That was awesome.
[02:36:15] Speaker A: Yeah.
[02:36:16] Speaker B: So those two guys. Ms. Crusher's gonna attack Ploth.
Why do I roll? Why do I roll? That was a six and a three.
This crusher's going to attack Greta.
Oh, wait, that's a hit.
[02:36:28] Speaker D: Wait, can I. No, I protect. Can I react again?
[02:36:32] Speaker B: Well, you have one reaction per turn.
[02:36:34] Speaker D: So no, but it's not my turn.
[02:36:39] Speaker B: Whole combat round, entire combat round, you have one reaction. Otherwise, spell catchers could go counter spell, counter spell, counter spell, counterspell, counter spell, counter spell.
[02:36:47] Speaker D: That makes sense.
I'm sorry, I don't use reactions ever. So I understand now.
[02:36:52] Speaker B: It's okay, Greta.
24 to hit you.
[02:36:56] Speaker D: I'm sorry, Greta.
[02:36:58] Speaker B: 1211 points of piercing damage as a spear is jabbed into you.
Oh.
Okay, Ro, it is your turn. Craig's on deck.
[02:37:06] Speaker D: Okay.
[02:37:08] Speaker B: And you can start by giving me a working saving throw. No.
[02:37:11] Speaker D: Oh, yeah.
I'm gonna use my inspiration because that was really, really Bad.
[02:37:19] Speaker B: Well, I rolled awful on damage.
[02:37:21] Speaker D: Okay, that was still bad. Okay, that's 11.
[02:37:31] Speaker B: Well, you fail. Yeah, could be worse. Because on 5D8 I rolled 12 damage. Oh, so three ones.
So as ethereal spectral spirits come around and slash at you, you take 12 points of necrotic damage.
[02:37:49] Speaker D: Okay.
[02:37:50] Speaker B: Okay. What are you doing, bro?
After this.
[02:37:54] Speaker D: Sorry, I was writing. Okay, I'm at 90 dudes, okay? So I'm going to.
Yeah, I'm going to use this because at first I was like, oh, this isn't going to be helpful. But it actually will be helpful because it's temporary hit points. So it can.
Temporary hit points can add on top of their hit points. Yep, perfect. So I'm getting sick of this.
I feel like I always say that, but it's true. So I'm gonna guess at the sixth level. I'm gonna cast Cry, the old song.
[02:38:39] Speaker B: Okay.
[02:38:40] Speaker D: Ro is gonna like really hardcore metal sounding.
And every enemy creature within a 60 foot radius must make a wisdom saving throw.
[02:38:58] Speaker B: Okay, what's your spell save DC.
[02:39:03] Speaker D: My spell save DC is 18.
[02:39:09] Speaker B: This one saves, this one fails.
Both. Both assassins fail.
Both priests fail.
And the gold rush the federal.
So this crusher saves everyone else.
That just means he takes half damage, right?
[02:39:28] Speaker D: It'll.
[02:39:30] Speaker B: Yeah.
[02:39:30] Speaker D: Okay, go.
[02:39:31] Speaker B: Keep doing your part.
[02:39:32] Speaker D: Okay. Sorry, I just. My dice tray just fell.
Which is what everyone wants in the middle of combat. Okay, I got it.
[02:39:41] Speaker B: What are Craig's and Greta's thoughts at this moment?
[02:39:46] Speaker A: Currently Craig is thinking, you need to die so I can kill your friend. The guy behind me.
That's because he's in Warzone.
[02:39:58] Speaker C: Greta is trying to figure out how to break concentration on the lady casting Sperry Guardians. And she's also annoyed that someone else is using a spell that she likes.
[02:40:13] Speaker A: Probably stinks. It's against her.
[02:40:16] Speaker C: Yeah, she's like just.
She's. Her heart is the piss of it.
[02:40:27] Speaker B: Oh my goodness. Abc. And that's why I like Abby, because she's a Josh and kidder. You know what I mean? She just. Sometimes she Joshes, sometimes she love to.
[02:40:35] Speaker C: Josh and I love to kid.
[02:40:37] Speaker B: I hear she's engaged.
[02:40:41] Speaker A: Oh my gosh. We ran into each other at rodeo.
[02:40:44] Speaker C: We did. It was so fun. We like started talking about engagement planning stuff and we were there for like five minutes. It was fun.
Also, my workplace is on the menu at Rodeo Goat. So shout out to them.
[02:41:01] Speaker A: We love it.
[02:41:05] Speaker D: Damage.
Okay, so.
So everyone that. That failed. It takes 45 points of psychic damage.
[02:41:16] Speaker B: 45.
[02:41:17] Speaker D: 45.
[02:41:20] Speaker B: Whoa. That's your new. That's your new record.
[02:41:22] Speaker D: Yeah.
And then five damage.
[02:41:27] Speaker A: Wow, bro. And that's insane.
[02:41:30] Speaker B: Rose new record.
[02:41:32] Speaker D: And then every single.
Every single one of my allies.
[02:41:44] Speaker B: That's crazy.
[02:41:45] Speaker D: Every single one of my allies is immune to being frightened or charmed. They have resistant to psychic damage for the next hour. And every single one of you, including the NPCs get 13 temporary hit points. So you can add those on top of. Even if you're max, you can add those on top of your hit points.
[02:42:16] Speaker B: Okay.
Well, Ro, I need you.
[02:42:23] Speaker E: Okay.
[02:42:24] Speaker B: Oh, ro.
[02:42:29] Speaker D: Yeah.
[02:42:29] Speaker B: Describe to me what it looks like as you cast crow of the cry of the old song. Yeah. All of your allies. And then this is important deal.
You kill both assassins.
[02:42:45] Speaker C: Oh.
[02:42:47] Speaker B: Take one crusher down to bloodied and take the other one down to 10 hit points. And then bloody both priests. Describe what that looks like.
[02:42:55] Speaker C: Wow.
[02:42:56] Speaker D: So, okay, first of all, first things first. The priests, they need to be like bleeding from their ears at this point because they're deafened. But somehow the old song got through.
[02:43:12] Speaker B: Speaking to the core who they are also.
[02:43:14] Speaker A: Yeah.
[02:43:14] Speaker B: Spirit guardians failed.
[02:43:15] Speaker D: Beautiful.
[02:43:16] Speaker C: Oh.
[02:43:18] Speaker D: So as I do this, like, it's just like it's metaly sounding because I'm playing on song splitter. It's reverberating like I wanted to. As I start to play the old song like it's. The magic sweeps out of song splitter and all of this like old magic, like gold, you know, ethereal magic. Like I wanted to start like shaking the boat almost.
And as it does this, like it just starts striking every enemy.
The magic does and.
And the two that it kills, I want it just to like wrap around them and like absorb them within the magic. And then when the magic kind of falls away, they're dead there the most.
[02:44:06] Speaker B: As you play the notes and the boat shakes, a bunch of the withered flowers start blooming and growing again.
And as the fire that was burning, the golden fire burning on everyone's bodies from Baz's sacrifice of the old flame begins to grow. And like Craig, you set on gold fire from rose magic that doesn't hurt. You just burns with power. And as everything in living responds, this light very much just like from Prince of Egypt, like the angel of death death. Just that like light that. That ghastly light that moves around in just gold light just moves by as the music just.
And as everything every kuoa doubles over in pain and spits up blood and struggles and withers. The two assassins are picked up and they just follow the body. Just dead empty.
Jackie Crazy that's your turn, I assume.
[02:45:04] Speaker D: Yeah.
[02:45:05] Speaker B: Okay, Craig, you're up.
[02:45:08] Speaker A: So I.
I've never done this before, but. Channel divinity. Whoa. Channel divinity.
I can use an action to make Stop.
[02:45:22] Speaker E: Halden would say it.
[02:45:24] Speaker A: Huh?
[02:45:26] Speaker E: That's how a paladin would say it. Yeah.
[02:45:28] Speaker A: No channel.
Actually, this is really great.
I'm just trying to figure out, do I want to. I just spat everywhere. I didn't mean to, but I was trying to figure out if I want to do Cosmic Instrument or Divine Delineation.
[02:45:51] Speaker B: Micah, did you just.
I don't mean this sassy at all.
Did you just use one of your character features, like from your subass?
[02:46:01] Speaker E: Yeah, Micah, that's.
[02:46:03] Speaker B: That's the first time you've done that.
[02:46:05] Speaker A: Channel divinity.
[02:46:06] Speaker B: Inspiration.
You've never done inspiration.
[02:46:10] Speaker A: Thank you.
[02:46:11] Speaker B: Okay, well, I'm proud of you. Know that. I'm proud of you.
[02:46:13] Speaker A: Thank you.
[02:46:14] Speaker B: Okay, please keep going. I'm so sorry. Just pick something. There's no wrong choices.
[02:46:18] Speaker A: Okay. I think that channel develop delineation would actually be a lot more chaotic.
It would be a lot more chaotic. And I can switch it from healing to damage, which is awesome.
[02:46:32] Speaker B: Okay, so you're gonna. You're gonna use Cosmic Instrument.
[02:46:35] Speaker A: Yes, and I'm also going to move a little forward. Just a little. Scoot, scoot. Just to be close to the big bad boy.
Does that give me an opportunity attack for the person?
[02:46:48] Speaker B: No, because you're moving toward him, not away.
[02:46:50] Speaker A: Yay.
Okay, so I would like to do that. So then I will do that. And I will also do Divine Smite at third level.
[02:47:02] Speaker B: Well, now, Cosmic Instrument is an action.
See that in the text?
So that's your action if you're using it.
[02:47:13] Speaker A: I have a bonus action.
[02:47:17] Speaker B: You know what? That's true.
[02:47:18] Speaker A: I have two. I have two.
I have two things.
[02:47:22] Speaker B: When you're a melee class and you use your action, you can do multi attack with your action. You can attack twice. You have one action. You just get to attack twice. You don't have two actions, which is. That is always tough. So if you're like a fighter barbarian, you can hit twice, but you're. You're using one action.
Cosmic Instrument is like a prep action. Like, you know that like when. When boss is getting ready for combat, he casts all those spells on himself to get ready as an action.
This is like that for Craig.
[02:47:53] Speaker A: Okay, I. I might not do that because I feel like that would be kind of a waste for a turn to not do it.
[02:47:58] Speaker B: Yeah, you could. I mean, you could use your sword twice, and then in the future, use Cosmic Instrument as a preparation. It's an excellent preparation move.
[02:48:08] Speaker A: Yeah, got it. That makes sense.
[02:48:10] Speaker C: You live in you.
[02:48:10] Speaker B: That's okay, dude. That's okay.
[02:48:11] Speaker A: Am I right?
Hey, you started using it.
[02:48:15] Speaker B: That's a first.
[02:48:17] Speaker A: I am going to do Divine Smite at third level.
So I'm basically doing everything that I normally did.
[02:48:25] Speaker C: So.
[02:48:27] Speaker B: Excellent. Wreck this Nerds day.
[02:48:30] Speaker A: I'm gonna use inspiration on that one.
[02:48:33] Speaker B: Do it, Micah.
[02:48:34] Speaker A: Do it.
Okay, so that would be a 20.
[02:48:43] Speaker B: Okay, that hits.
Yeah, go ahead. Sorry.
[02:48:48] Speaker A: And that would be a 24.
[02:48:52] Speaker B: Okay, excellent. Go ahead and roll one set of damage first and then give me the second one. So, like, roll, roll one. Roll 1, 2D6 plus 3D8 plus 6. And then roll another 2D6 plus 6.
[02:49:06] Speaker A: Okay, 2D6, 3.
That's 8.
[02:49:13] Speaker B: I'm really having to get my paladins down because I never damaged up paladin.
[02:49:19] Speaker C: Damn. You are so far from the mic.
[02:49:23] Speaker B: You what?
[02:49:24] Speaker C: You're far from the mic.
[02:49:27] Speaker B: I said skippity Bibbidi. B. I said I'm having to get my paladins down because I've never DM'd for a. I've never DM for a paladin outside of a windshot. Okay? So, Micah, because Divine Smite is not. You can just do it. Since it's not a bonus action, you can do it on both attacks. You. If you want.
[02:49:43] Speaker A: It's not, but it does take a spell slot, right?
[02:49:47] Speaker B: It. It takes the spell slot. You're doing that. Right. But it's not a bonus action. So you can put it on both attacks. You can do it twice as long as you have the spell slots for.
[02:49:54] Speaker A: So is that 8D8.
[02:50:01] Speaker B: Well, I'll tell you what. Roll your damage for the first attack and let me double check that to make sure I'm not wrong.
[02:50:06] Speaker A: Okay.
[02:50:23] Speaker B: Yep.
You can just put eight. So, Micah, you're rolling 88 plus 46 plus plus 12.
But please roll them separately. Please roll 48 plus.
[02:50:37] Speaker A: Okay, so eight plus six is 14.
[02:50:44] Speaker B: Okay.
[02:50:46] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. Eight, 14, then that would be.
[02:50:53] Speaker B: 18.
Man, Craig's going to start getting crazy.
Should be mathing 32. Excellent. That's correct.
[02:51:05] Speaker A: Wait. Yeah, let's just take 32. That's just one. That's just one.
[02:51:10] Speaker B: Yeah. That's one attack. It's 32.
[02:51:14] Speaker A: Okay. And then.
[02:51:19] Speaker B: Nobody damages like a paladin.
[02:51:24] Speaker A: Okay. Okay.
And then. And then we got.
Y' all can totally talk for a little bit if you'd like.
[02:51:36] Speaker B: I mean, I know it's a Lot going on. If anyone wants to engage in role play or description or character perceptions while someone else is doing math, that's all.
[02:51:41] Speaker D: Right. Have any of the Kuo Toa said anything? Have I heard them say anything?
[02:51:46] Speaker B: A lot of curses.
You've learned some Kuo Toa curse words.
[02:51:50] Speaker D: Sick.
Did they say anything of.
Of why? What they're doing here? I guess I should have asked.
[02:52:00] Speaker B: Odds or evens?
[02:52:03] Speaker D: Odds.
[02:52:06] Speaker B: 2.
I've not heard anything.
53 plus 53 is the total?
[02:52:14] Speaker A: No, we're gonna add 19 damage.
[02:52:22] Speaker B: What's your total?
[02:52:24] Speaker A: So for that, it's 53, but I'm gonna roll a D6, and we're gonna need to do the saving throw to add the 19 points of damage.
[02:52:33] Speaker B: Okay.
[02:52:34] Speaker A: Can I. Can I do that as a reaction?
[02:52:37] Speaker B: Yes, you're using that correctly.
[02:52:41] Speaker A: Reaction. I already used my reaction earlier.
[02:52:45] Speaker B: Bumber.
[02:52:45] Speaker A: I have to be very honest.
[02:52:48] Speaker B: Okay. But you got 53.
[02:52:50] Speaker A: Okay.
[02:52:50] Speaker B: Which is pretty awesome.
[02:52:51] Speaker A: Yeah.
[02:52:51] Speaker B: So, Micah, how do you want to do this on both the gulper and the Federer?
[02:52:59] Speaker D: Let's go.
[02:52:59] Speaker B: How do you want to kill them both?
[02:53:07] Speaker A: Shish kebab.
[02:53:12] Speaker B: As the. Craig, as you step forward, the goal.
Oh, yeah. Yeah, Go. Yeah. Can I. Yeah, go, Go.
[02:53:18] Speaker A: Flavor it. I.
[02:53:19] Speaker B: Okay, Micah, if I say, how do you want to do this? And then you ask, can I flavor it? The answer is yes. Every time. Start flavor.
[02:53:25] Speaker A: I want there to be fire that's returned back, and there is.
Okay, so the. There's, like. Okay, so as I'm giving star splinter just, like, through, first of all, the monster's throat, and then up through, like, its writer's throat. Like, it's just, like, going up through both of them. I don't know if it's that long, but, you know.
[02:53:48] Speaker B: Hey, hey, hey. Go.
[02:53:50] Speaker A: Whatever.
But as it's moving, there's, like, a.
Like, flame. And, like, you know when, like, a meteor is coming out of the sky and it has that ring of it in the same way, it's creating, like, a fire around it from the damage that I would. Did to me. And it's like.
And it, like, shoots up, and it, like, burns them from the inside, and there's, like. Like, they're, like.
They were, like, burned, and they look toasted. They look very toasted, Micah.
[02:54:23] Speaker B: As the gulper opens its jaws to bite you, Craig grabs the side of its jaw and just, like, holds its mouth, and it, like. Like when you. Like when a dog has something you don't want it to have, and you grab the inside of its mouth and it drops it you grab the gulper's jaw, you pull back star splinter. You shout a word in deep magic. And the gold fire burning over you from Ro and Boz's casting ignites into an inferno on your blue blade. And as you stab it upward through the mouth, moving it through the air is like a comet igniting on the oxygen as it passes by from friction. And the fire catches up the blade and then burns down your arm as you stab up through the monster's mouth.
And as you stab up through, its head is too thick to pass through, but the golden fire incinerates its skull and brain matter as it passes through, so that your arm just sails up through the skull. Exploding fire ignites into flame and splits the head in half from. From heat. And as the Federer tries to fall back, the blade just catches up the of him and up through his head just as you rip the front of the gulper and the Federer in half. And they would turn into messy chunks if they weren't just consumed, like almost biblically with a gout of golden fire. And as the back of the monster falls to the ground and the ruined remaining pieces of the Federer fall to either side, you see terror on the priest's face looking at you as you stand there with starspoon character burning with golden fire, looking like an anime character.
You have movement. Would you like to use it?
[02:55:53] Speaker A: Say it again.
[02:55:55] Speaker B: You can use. Do you want to move?
[02:55:57] Speaker A: Yes.
[02:55:58] Speaker B: And you get up in the priest's face. Priest.
You also cast another spell this turn, which was pissed your pants.
[02:56:05] Speaker A: Can I try and intimidate him?
[02:56:08] Speaker B: You just did.
Okay. Okay. Now it's the priest turn.
[02:56:14] Speaker D: They can.
[02:56:14] Speaker B: It's bad news business.
[02:56:15] Speaker D: They can make a con save.
[02:56:18] Speaker B: Yeah, they can.
[02:56:19] Speaker D: To see if they're still deafened.
[02:56:22] Speaker B: Oh, what's your spell?
[02:56:24] Speaker D: Save 18.
[02:56:25] Speaker B: Both failed. They're still deafened.
[02:56:27] Speaker D: Dang it.
[02:56:31] Speaker B: But, Craig, something very interesting happens as you step toward the priest where it's holding its staff in. It has bound on its wrist this metal bracelet with a little figurine head of a lobster kind of creature carved into the top of little jewels and second eyes. And as you step forward, the eyes light up. You feel a weight at your side, and the orb falls out from your pocket at the side and it starts rolling around the deck. All of the energy in it, the liquid inside grows flat and inert, and the orbs rolls around the deck next to you. Because you stepped where you did to the priest now. I stepped where you walked up to the priest. The bracelet lit up on the Priest list on the priest.
[02:57:16] Speaker A: Why did it do that?
[02:57:18] Speaker D: So where's the orb?
[02:57:20] Speaker A: I have divine sense. Can I know what that like, that.
[02:57:23] Speaker B: Has absolutely nothing to do with what's happening. Continuing, this priest turns and actually does shout something to the other one. And Ro. You understand? As it says, we have the seed for the glory of the young God. And he is going to reach down and grab the Farseer.
[02:57:48] Speaker A: No, you're kidding me.
[02:57:50] Speaker B: And then he's going to bolt.
Craig, you can make an opportunity attack?
[02:57:55] Speaker A: Yes, absolutely.
[02:57:57] Speaker B: Roll.
[02:58:02] Speaker A: That's an at 20.
That's a 30.
[02:58:12] Speaker B: Wow, that's so story appropriate. That's awesome.
[02:58:16] Speaker A: Can I.
[02:58:17] Speaker B: Here's the really crazy thing, Craig, because it's not a reaction, it's not a bonus action. You could pump divine into this.
[02:58:25] Speaker A: Absolutely. Can I.
[02:58:27] Speaker B: It's going to get crazy.
[02:58:31] Speaker A: Can I use it as a ranged weapon?
[02:58:37] Speaker B: You can just. No, cuz you already have star spawn around. You can hit him with the sword as he runs away.
[02:58:41] Speaker A: Okay, perfect. So I can do.
Perfect, perfect, perfect.
[02:58:46] Speaker B: Okay, what spell slot? What level are you putting into it?
[02:58:49] Speaker A: 4.
[02:58:51] Speaker B: Okay, this is 5D8.
So, Micah, you can either roll 2D6 plus 6 plus 5D8, or you can roll 4D6 plus 6 plus 10D8. Wait, that gives you more dice to roll, which is fun. But if you do the first option, it's typically a bigger number statistically where you just double everybody.
So the easiest way is just to do 2d6 plus 5d8 plus 6 and then just double everything at the end. Okay, the easiest way. Okay, so 2D6 plus 5D8 plus 6.
[02:59:26] Speaker A: Okay.
[02:59:29] Speaker B: As Craig pulls out his sword and it ignites with blue and golden fire and shouts an evocative word of deep magic, slashing at the Kuatoan priest.
[02:59:36] Speaker D: How.
[02:59:36] Speaker B: How are the other characters reaction to watching the Far seed just appear and fall out of Craig's pocket, grow inert, and that Kuo Toa grabbing the. The. The object and running to the side of the ship.
[02:59:48] Speaker D: Can I think, Greta?
[02:59:49] Speaker C: Probably like. All right, go ahead. You first checked.
[02:59:52] Speaker D: Oh, I was just gonna ask if it was possible for me to yell out, like, when I hear that they. What? They yell what?
[03:00:07] Speaker C: It's round.
[03:00:09] Speaker A: Round.
[03:00:09] Speaker D: Oh, this whole round?
[03:00:11] Speaker B: Yeah. No reaction. Sorry. Dang it.
[03:00:16] Speaker E: What's funny? The other priest has no idea.
The other priest has no idea what's happening.
[03:00:22] Speaker B: Didn't hear him. I mean, saw that on the Far Seed, so. Knows that, but has no idea what they show.
[03:00:29] Speaker E: He has like five people in front of him that Are trying to kill him.
[03:00:31] Speaker B: Looking this way. They're here on a mission.
[03:00:34] Speaker E: If I had five people in front of me that were trying to kill me, I would not be looking away from him.
[03:00:38] Speaker B: Maybe not. Maybe he doesn't know. Who knows?
[03:00:40] Speaker D: What were you gonna say, Abby? About?
[03:00:42] Speaker E: I think it's funny.
[03:00:43] Speaker B: Probably like, 56 damage.
Micah, with 62 points on the priest. How do you want to do this?
[03:00:53] Speaker E: Yeah, go, Zach. We're not doing the water thing. We told you. We're sorry. It's not happening. I'm just kidding.
[03:01:01] Speaker A: Oh, my God.
[03:01:02] Speaker E: We might do it.
[03:01:02] Speaker A: I'm gonna say that I grab him by the ankle, I pull him and drag him back to me. I get on top of him, and I hold him down with. And then I take the sword, and I just. I just chop off his head.
[03:01:22] Speaker B: Nobody ever make my. Come on. Okay.
[03:01:25] Speaker C: Yeah.
[03:01:25] Speaker A: Oh, my gosh. How dare you come out.
[03:01:28] Speaker B: It starts to barrel away. Craig, you, like. You, like, hit like all those morning workouts with Bill Free and Pl. Your muscle memory goes straight to a lunge. You just lunge down, grab his ankle as he. As he falls forward onto the deck, dropping the far seed, and it.
Okay, it rolls only to here. So the far seed.
I'm gonna represent the farseed with this.
[03:01:54] Speaker A: Can I grab it after icon right here?
[03:01:57] Speaker B: No, because this. I mean, this isn't even your turn. This was all a reaction.
He slams forward. You pull him forward to you, and as the priest goes to grab its staff and bash you with it, you just climb onto his chest. Your knee slams down into his arm, and as you raise the sword up, blazing with fire, you watch as fear washes over the priest's face for a moment, aware that, oh, this is the moment it dies. And then you watch it just resolve into an anger, and it stares into your eyes and just whispers, you burn after me. You don't understand that, but Ro does.
And Craig, as you bring your sword down, you bring it down like a stab.
And the force of the fire cauterizes the neck away. Just.
And the head just rolls back. Craig's Merc and fools. It's the other priest's turn.
They're here for one thing.
They're here for one thing.
[03:02:53] Speaker A: I swear.
[03:02:54] Speaker B: Priest runs after the orb.
[03:02:55] Speaker A: I swear.
[03:02:56] Speaker B: Takes an opportunity attack from Tello.
[03:02:59] Speaker C: Oh, Teller gets him. Tell's gonna stab him with his rapier.
[03:03:06] Speaker A: Doesn't he get an opportunity attack from both parts parties? Tello in that purple, because it's a.
[03:03:12] Speaker B: Purple is over here. That's wrong.
[03:03:14] Speaker A: I mean, the One. The other one that's above the green. That one because it's five.
[03:03:19] Speaker B: Yeah. The Kua toa does not attack.
[03:03:21] Speaker A: Oh, that's a kua. My bad.
[03:03:25] Speaker C: That's telegot of 10.
[03:03:29] Speaker B: Tella whiffs the blade off of his armor, scraping. The priest grabs the orb and dives off the ship into the water.
All right, it's Goober's turn.
Let's see, that was 5, 10, 15, 20. Into the water.
Another 10ft forward, out to. We'll say here. And then he is.
Excuse this.
Five feet down is going to pass.
Is going to cast magic missile at the third. Third level.
[03:04:28] Speaker A: Yes.
[03:04:28] Speaker D: Let's go.
I didn't like that.
[03:04:35] Speaker B: Pressure on three or on Ploth.
And Magic missile just works.
[03:04:41] Speaker E: Yeah, it doesn't miss unless you have a very specific spell.
[03:04:45] Speaker B: And Bagober raises up his hand, looking at his book, flipping pages, and he goes.
And all these pink sigils appear around his wrist and just these three little pink bolts and they just pound into this kuo to his chest. And the kuo toa falls over dead. Ishmagoober gets a kill.
[03:05:10] Speaker C: Oh, wow.
[03:05:12] Speaker B: Goober looks up, trembling from his book and says, get off my ship.
And next in initiative, it is Tello. What is Tello doing?
[03:05:27] Speaker C: Are the bad guy right in front of Tello?
[03:05:30] Speaker B: Yes.
[03:05:31] Speaker C: Okay, Tello's gonna turn around and poke him.
[03:05:35] Speaker B: Okay. Roll the hit.
[03:05:36] Speaker C: So with Tella's dice, that's a nine.
[03:05:43] Speaker B: Okay.
Startled from everything that's going on, he makes an errant swing and just over his head.
Next up, it's Ploth.
Plop's gonna use a bonus action. And she's gonna turn to Craig and she's gonna shout, Craig, how important is that thing?
[03:06:08] Speaker A: The most important thing we currently own.
[03:06:15] Speaker B: At the side of the ship. She just. She takes her ax.
[03:06:17] Speaker E: Oh, no.
[03:06:19] Speaker B: And she just dives off the side of the ship.
[03:06:22] Speaker A: I'm about to go join her, bro.
[03:06:24] Speaker B: The creature make an athletics check.
Fails. Okay, so she dives into the water and just grabs on to him. Plo is there with him.
Greta, it's your turn. What are you doing?
[03:06:44] Speaker C: How far DM if I were to stand at the very edge of the boat, three thing, like two spaces away from. No, like parallel with the priest. How many feet would I be away from them?
[03:06:59] Speaker B: 15, because they're technically like five feet under the water.
[03:07:01] Speaker C: Cool. I'm going to go.
I'm going to run over there. I'm going to go 1, 5, 10, 15, 20 to that square.
[03:07:10] Speaker B: I don't Know why I own dice? Keep going.
[03:07:16] Speaker D: Okay.
[03:07:17] Speaker B: As you go, as you run by the Kuo pulls out a spear. And Tell just deflects it away with his rapier.
[03:07:24] Speaker C: Yeah, tell.
Okay, I'm gonna try. I'm gonna cast.
I'm gonna try and cast suggestion on the priest.
[03:07:36] Speaker B: Okay, excellent. What kind of saving throw is that?
[03:07:40] Speaker C: That's a wisdom saving throw.
Wisdom.
[03:07:45] Speaker E: For me, suggestion doesn't have disadvantage in combat.
[03:07:48] Speaker A: Oh, wait.
[03:07:49] Speaker B: Excellent. Can you read the details of suggestion for me?
[03:07:51] Speaker C: You suggest a course of activity. Activity limited to a sentence or two, and magically influence a creature you see within range that can hear.
[03:07:58] Speaker A: Ugh.
[03:08:00] Speaker B: This Greta. As out of instinct, you shout out a command, drop the seed.
Ploth sort of looks back from five feet under the water, but you realize that this Kuo Toa has no reference for the language you speak.
[03:08:15] Speaker E: And it's also deafened, so I can't hear her.
[03:08:21] Speaker B: Well, still.
[03:08:26] Speaker D: Did I ever made a combat. And I've made some bad ones.
[03:08:34] Speaker C: Okay.
[03:08:37] Speaker D: I messed up everybody's spell.
I'm so sorry.
[03:08:46] Speaker B: Oh, that's so funny. All right.
[03:08:50] Speaker D: I'm never using it again.
[03:08:54] Speaker B: Okay. The attacker opportunity misses. Anyway, Craig has said something matters. And Bill free. And Ploff's gone in. Bill Free doesn't think twice. 5, 10, 15. And bill free just. Oh, my God. I just. This is what the. This is what the siblings do.
They ride or die. He just launches off of the deck and dives into the water. He's actually gonna roll.
Okay.
The priest is grappled as he dives into the water, and both of the twins are like five feet into the water with the priest grappling him. Next up initiative is Boz. What are you doing, boss?
[03:09:30] Speaker E: Oh, man. Zachary, what are our homebrew rules on lightning damage? I think my original plan is not gonna work now. But what are our.
[03:09:37] Speaker B: If you're talking about in water, yes, it's an extra die.
[03:09:42] Speaker E: I think I know. But how does it.
[03:09:43] Speaker B: Disadvantage.
[03:09:44] Speaker E: But like the range of the spell is that affected at all or how does it work?
[03:09:48] Speaker B: I don't think so. Let me check. Let me. Let me. Let me look at our. Our rules if you want to.
[03:09:52] Speaker E: So here's what. Here's what I'm thinking.
I am thinking about doing a really high level lightning. And it does. It hits a spot and then does a set amount of lightning damage to something, anything within five feet.
[03:10:05] Speaker B: I'm so sorry to interrupt you. Our homebrew rule just says extra damage die. That's it.
[03:10:09] Speaker E: So is there a way to position that and hit the priest without hitting the squares that Bill Free and Plough are in.
[03:10:15] Speaker C: Well, Bill Free is grappling the priest.
[03:10:17] Speaker E: Yeah. So that's not gonna be. I can't do that anymore. Can't do that anymore. I was gonna do, like, 70, 80 damage with that.
I was hoping it would hit.
I don't know, man.
[03:10:31] Speaker A: If you.
[03:10:33] Speaker E: I don't know.
I don't know if there's much else I can do.
[03:10:38] Speaker A: You can change me into a sea creature and so I can grapple him in the water and be able to breathe and do my attack dice underwater.
[03:10:51] Speaker B: Boss, is it okay if we go ahead and go to the Kuo Toa Crusher's turn while you're thinking things through?
[03:10:57] Speaker E: Yeah, yeah, it's fine.
[03:10:58] Speaker B: Okay.
Having fulfilled this mission, there's only one objective. The Kuo Toa Crusher turns into the water and dives into the fray.
And so there's now, like a rugby.
Oh, Tello does. So it does have attack. Okay.
[03:11:14] Speaker C: Okay. He attacked.
[03:11:16] Speaker B: Yeah. What's up, Buzz? I'm sorry. No. Ovaz's turn takes.
[03:11:19] Speaker A: I cast guidance.
[03:11:20] Speaker E: Here. Here's.
[03:11:21] Speaker B: I.
[03:11:21] Speaker E: Okay, Zach, this is. Is a little selfish. I didn't know what you were going to do before I said it, but if I thought it was more of a procedural.
[03:11:29] Speaker B: It was your turn. It was your turn. Go ahead and go. It's okay.
[03:11:33] Speaker E: I don't want them to get in there before I can do something. That's the thing. I thought if they were just going to be doing it like in combat.
[03:11:38] Speaker B: Combat on the.
It's okay. It's okay.
[03:11:42] Speaker E: So I go over to.
I can't even. I can't. I can't. Vicious mockery.
[03:11:56] Speaker B: What are you doing, Boss?
[03:11:59] Speaker E: I want to point.
[03:12:00] Speaker B: I'm not.
[03:12:01] Speaker A: It hasn't.
[03:12:02] Speaker E: Okay.
[03:12:02] Speaker D: It hasn't been a minute.
[03:12:04] Speaker E: Kua Toa.
And I want to get to where I can see it. I don't know where I need to move to do that. And cast.
[03:12:15] Speaker B: No problem.
[03:12:15] Speaker E: And cast Polymorph on it.
[03:12:18] Speaker B: Oh, wait. On the Kuo Toa priest?
[03:12:19] Speaker E: Yes.
[03:12:21] Speaker B: 5, 10, 15, 20. If you go over here to the edge of the boat, you can see them.
[03:12:25] Speaker E: I'm gonna try to cast Polymorph on him.
[03:12:27] Speaker B: Excellent. No one can explain why this is a wisdom table for some reason.
[03:12:33] Speaker D: Are they smart enough to not turn into an animal?
[03:12:35] Speaker B: Well, they're very wise.
[03:12:37] Speaker E: I know.
I just. I don't think I have much that's.
[03:12:40] Speaker B: Like, particularly matter when Zach's the dm. What do you Polymorph him into. Because they failed by rolling an 8.
[03:12:46] Speaker E: I feel like I want a polymorph him into a.
Oh, my gosh.
A.
A dog. Just like a dog.
[03:12:58] Speaker B: Okay.
[03:12:59] Speaker E: And as like, not like a small dog, like a dog that can be held and carried and not like to like. Like a yapper. Like a white yapper. Like a crusty white dog. I would have transformed into a crusty white dog.
[03:13:11] Speaker B: I'm sorry. This is Landon's turn. As. As. As Boss runs to the edge of the ship and shouts a powerful form of transmutive magic only available to skillful spellcasters. And the energy ripples through the water and the priest, like, looks backward, concerned, before just turning into.
And all of a sudden there's just a. Just a crusty eyed white dog in the water that Bill Free is holding. Bill Free looks real confused.
[03:13:35] Speaker C: What happens to the orb?
[03:13:37] Speaker B: Well, all objects worn or carried by the polymorph creature polymorph with them.
So there is a death terrier mix held by Bill Free under the water there.
[03:13:52] Speaker D: Thank you for it being a terrier mix.
[03:13:54] Speaker E: Zach, where are the other Kuo Toa?
[03:13:57] Speaker B: This one's here.
[03:13:58] Speaker E: And how much movement speed do I have?
[03:14:01] Speaker B: You went 5, 10, 15, 20. You have 10 more.
[03:14:05] Speaker E: I have a movement speed of 45.
[03:14:07] Speaker B: 15.
Can I.
[03:14:10] Speaker E: Can I get down?
Can I jump down the hatch back.
[03:14:14] Speaker B: Back down below deck?
[03:14:15] Speaker E: Yeah, I want to go below deck.
[03:14:17] Speaker B: 10, 15, 20.
[03:14:18] Speaker E: Yeah, I want to run away.
[03:14:21] Speaker B: You're there.
[03:14:22] Speaker D: I want to run away.
[03:14:23] Speaker B: Okay.
[03:14:23] Speaker E: And I, like, shut it down behind me. Like, I'm like, gone. Like, who knows where I am in there?
I don't know. I have my jingly shoes. I'm running fast. I don't know.
[03:14:34] Speaker B: Yeah, you have the movement. I don't know that. You have the action economy to reach back up, grab the door and pull it down.
[03:14:39] Speaker E: Okay.
[03:14:39] Speaker B: I also think that opportunity attack. You're down the hatch.
Kuo Crusher's turn. It doesn't have the magical understanding to understand that hitting you would. It's. That's not. It's not educated.
It's.
Lord has turned into a dog. It jumps into the water. Very confused.
[03:15:01] Speaker C: Does Rogue get an opportunity?
[03:15:02] Speaker D: Yeah.
[03:15:04] Speaker B: Hello. And Rogue, an opportunity attack. Go ahead and take it.
[03:15:07] Speaker D: Okay.
How does opportunity attack work exactly?
Okay, that's what I thought. I can, like, hit him.
[03:15:19] Speaker B: Sure. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[03:15:22] Speaker D: Oh, mine was.
[03:15:24] Speaker B: It feels about right. This is. This is episode 144. 1.
[03:15:30] Speaker D: That was a 10.
[03:15:34] Speaker B: Okay, guys, this is true.
12 not ones have been rolled.
[03:15:40] Speaker A: Wow.
[03:15:43] Speaker B: That's crazy. Okay. Both people with shots as the kuo toa stumbles away. It jumps into the water, is very confused when there's a dog, isn't really sure what to do and so just attacks off because just deeply confused by what's happening.
[03:15:59] Speaker E: Okay.
[03:15:59] Speaker B: Hits. Oh, wow. Hits twice.
[03:16:02] Speaker A: Dang it.
[03:16:03] Speaker B: Okay. Pl takes a bunch of damage. Okay. Now it's rose turn. What are you doing? Roll.
[03:16:12] Speaker D: Crying on the floor.
I'm just kidding.
[03:16:17] Speaker B: We do need to wrap this session up soon, so.
[03:16:19] Speaker D: Yeah.
Yeah. I'm gonna. I'm gonna go to the edge of the boat.
[03:16:26] Speaker B: Okay.
[03:16:27] Speaker D: And I'm gonna polymorph.
I'm gonna take a page out of boss's book and I'm gonna polymorph that other Cool. A Toa.
[03:16:37] Speaker B: Awesome. Sure. Why not?
[03:16:40] Speaker D: Another different kind of little doggy.
[03:16:43] Speaker B: Okay.
[03:16:44] Speaker D: For some reason.
[03:16:45] Speaker B: Okay. There are now two dogs in the water.
There's a chihuahua and a crusty eyed white dog. And they're both in the water.
And d and D is a strange, strange game.
Excellent. Craig, your turn. What are you doing?
[03:17:00] Speaker D: No, wait. My bonus action is I'm gonna. So I'm gonna yell out to billfrey and plop grab the dogs and come back.
[03:17:09] Speaker B: Okay. They're both gonna make perception text to understand you. Underwater.
Bill free failed. Plof succeeded.
Understood. Okay, Craig, it's your turn. What are you doing?
[03:17:22] Speaker A: I run over there to help them up and grab the dogs.
[03:17:27] Speaker B: Okay. They're in the ocean. They're in the water. Five feet underwater. What are you doing specifically?
[03:17:36] Speaker A: I can't like, do anything because there's nothing to like, attack. Because if I attack them, then they come back to normal. Right.
[03:17:43] Speaker D: You can try and get.
[03:17:46] Speaker A: Do I know where the like the dog or you could.
[03:17:48] Speaker B: You could dive into the water, grab one of the dogs and start swimming back toward the boat.
[03:17:54] Speaker A: That is what I want to do. Yes.
[03:17:56] Speaker B: Okay, you. You have the priest dog. Bill. Freeze. Got it. And is like going to like, try and hurt it. And then you grab it and he's confused, but you give him a face and he just nods. He doesn't know how magic works, but he knows you do. And so you have the dog. Give me an athletics check to get back on the. You have enough movement. You have like five more feet of movement. Give me enough to to with a sword and a shield and a dog climb back up onto the boat.
[03:18:20] Speaker A: That'd be a 25.
[03:18:22] Speaker B: Yeah. Okay, 25.
[03:18:26] Speaker E: Okay.
[03:18:26] Speaker B: Craig, you are on the ship with a dog.
A little crusty eyed white dog.
[03:18:34] Speaker A: Also poor Thing.
Ro. What is your.
Your athletics?
[03:18:46] Speaker B: Well, you have used quite a bit of action economy. What is it that you intend to do next?
[03:18:51] Speaker A: I would like to give her guidance so that she can add.
[03:18:56] Speaker B: That is an option. So we move on to the priest.
There's no savings there, right? They're just polymorphs.
Yes. No. Maybe. So nobody knows.
[03:19:11] Speaker E: I think there's no saving throw. It's just polymorphed for the. For an hour.
[03:19:16] Speaker B: The.
[03:19:16] Speaker D: The one as long as we stay concentrated is gonna roll.
[03:19:19] Speaker B: The hit misses. The one being held by Craig.
Craig, that hits. You take a point of piercing damage as the dog turns around and bites you. You take one piercing damage.
Okay, it's Tello's turn.
Actually, you know what?
We're.
[03:19:37] Speaker E: Can we just say, everybody back on the ship?
[03:19:40] Speaker B: Yeah, everybody. We do just swim back and there's just a dog in the water. Just treading water over here.
[03:19:46] Speaker E: They don't grab the dog.
[03:19:48] Speaker D: They don't.
[03:19:48] Speaker A: No, no, no.
[03:19:49] Speaker C: That's the dog without the orb.
[03:19:50] Speaker E: I know, but I said, grandpa holding.
[03:19:54] Speaker B: A dog, it'll become a chito biting at her. And Craig, you're holding a white dog that's going.
What's everybody doing? We don't need to worry about initiative order right now. You're out of energy. What's everybody doing?
[03:20:05] Speaker E: Boss pokes his head out and says, put him in the hold. We'll figure it out. Let's put them in the hold. We have an hour. We'll have a meeting. We'll have a meeting and we'll figure it out. But they can just hang out down here.
[03:20:14] Speaker D: Yeah.
[03:20:14] Speaker C: But.
[03:20:18] Speaker B: On that note, that is where we end episode 144 of the Accidental.
[03:20:22] Speaker A: Oh, my God.
[03:20:23] Speaker B: Two dogs in the hold that are actually Kuoa sent here to.
Yeah. Anyway, and that was bizarre. But that's the session. That's d, everybody.
Okay, you didn't kill him, but I'm gonna rule that you defeated them because you did beat him in combat, and it makes my job a lot easier.
You guys just did so much combat. So we're about to go on break, but I need to tell you guys a bunch of XP first.
So you guys defeated all the Kuo Toa. You defeated the Gulper, you defeated the Federer, you defeated the Assassins, the Crushers, and the Priests.
You all gained.232 levels.
0.232 levels.
[03:21:07] Speaker D: We are at 13.605.
[03:21:16] Speaker B: Big combat will do that. Okay, Listener, we need to let everyone go to break so we can come back and not have a too long session. Life's an incredible adventure. You're an important part of it. Skibidi wapum dunn Skibidi dum da.
[03:21:27] Speaker E: All right, buddy.
