Episode Transcript
[00:00:02] Speaker A: I didn't have time to get more food, so I am eating bread.
Welcome back.
[00:00:09] Speaker B: Dungeons and Dragons podcast.
Oh, sorry.
[00:00:12] Speaker C: It's a bread sandwich. It's a good one.
[00:00:14] Speaker B: You're eating sandwich. I thought I'd take. Okay, everybody, this is the Barely DND Sandwich podcast. We talk about our favorite sammies and let Mike have his way.
[00:00:22] Speaker A: We can't do that. We would do that for half an hour before we play D. If we started talking about sandwiches, this group would never recover.
[00:00:28] Speaker B: Also, that was a Jersey Mike's reference for anybody who's slow on the roll, but not actually a D and D podcast.
You got to have it Mike's way.
[00:00:38] Speaker D: I love Jersey Mike.
[00:00:39] Speaker E: No, I work at Chick Fil A, actually. So we have to have it the chick. Okay. No other sandwiches.
[00:00:45] Speaker B: All right. We are going to Thailand for 30 minutes.
[00:00:47] Speaker D: Those are different sandwiches.
[00:00:50] Speaker A: Glad the large corporation hasn't gained any sway over you.
[00:00:54] Speaker C: You got your chicken sandwiches.
Those are very different.
[00:00:58] Speaker D: Yeah. Very different vibe.
[00:01:00] Speaker B: Anyways, this is another episode where we do things. So before we do things, we have stuff we have to do. We have a question we have to ask. And today's question is, if your character was really good at one specific kind of dance, like one style genre, like tango, break dancing, like, what kind of dance would it be? Like, what genre? I don't know.
[00:01:21] Speaker A: For a second, I was concerned you were going to go with the executing prisoners question, and I'm very glad you didn't. Who's the dmn?
[00:01:29] Speaker E: I'd like to say Sh.
[00:01:30] Speaker D: Goober.
[00:01:30] Speaker B: The prisoners.
[00:01:32] Speaker A: Yeah.
I have seven different votes right now.
[00:01:40] Speaker C: Good Charlotte.
[00:01:43] Speaker A: Good Charlotte.
What? What dancing is, I will never stop regretting.
I thought that was an original NPC name. And then I was like, craig, what kind of dancing is Craig at?
[00:01:58] Speaker E: Does miming count?
[00:02:01] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Are you dance miming?
[00:02:05] Speaker A: Gonna find something to eat? Just keep going.
[00:02:07] Speaker E: I feel like Craig would mime a dancer.
Do you know, like, the, like, 20s dances?
So he would. It would be.
Yeah, flapper dance. So it would be a mix of, like, 20s, like, jokes. You know how it had to be very, like, quiet, like, very silent jokes. It would be a mix of that and also just, like, dancing.
But he's a mime, so he's miming it up.
[00:02:36] Speaker D: Do you mean like a silent film?
[00:02:37] Speaker C: So what kind of dance? Yeah, is the thing I'm gonna say, like, swing.
Oh, cool.
[00:02:46] Speaker E: But he's, like, miming it, so it's, like, very theatrical and, like, quiet and.
[00:02:51] Speaker A: Like you only because of how much you love Swing.
That's why. I know.
[00:02:57] Speaker C: What is that, Jackie?
Is it popcorn?
Pretty good.
[00:03:01] Speaker E: Delicious.
[00:03:02] Speaker A: Chopsticks? Just vegan things.
[00:03:06] Speaker D: No, it's hands dirty.
[00:03:10] Speaker E: Three points for using wood object because.
[00:03:14] Speaker A: Nice. What would rose dancing be?
[00:03:18] Speaker D: 3 points for using wood object. What?
[00:03:20] Speaker A: Yeah, I cast anti distraction. Greta, what's your answer?
[00:03:25] Speaker D: These are metal.
[00:03:28] Speaker C: Greta would think of, like, like a really fy. Like, flowy.
Like, it. Like. Like, imagine, like.
Yeah, like a dance that you would do with all of your extended family around the campfire.
She's, like, really good at that.
Yeah, it's like everybody knows it.
They all, like, know the dance together and they.
It's like.
Yeah, I'm imagining like. Like a pow wow almost, but like.
Like, everybody knows it. It's very communal.
[00:04:11] Speaker A: Like the kind of dance where everybody gets around the fire, holds hands, and, like, spins and jumps and kicks and stuff like that. No.
[00:04:17] Speaker C: Yeah, but it's. It's like. It's like. Imagine that, but, like, that vibe. But like a country line dance, you know? So it's like. There's a lot of, like, steps to it, and it's, like, repetitive, but it's not quite like, in a circle, like an American country song. It's, like, very more flowy and, like.
[00:04:35] Speaker E: Yeah, love it.
[00:04:38] Speaker A: The stomp clap genre kind of thing, maybe. I got you, Ro. What's.
[00:04:44] Speaker D: What.
[00:04:45] Speaker C: She knows them all in her brain.
[00:04:46] Speaker B: I know mine. If Jackie's not ready.
[00:04:48] Speaker A: Okay, boss.
[00:04:50] Speaker B: Boss would have listened to Party Rock Anthem one time and become obsessed with shuffling.
[00:04:56] Speaker A: All right, all right. Okay.
Well.
[00:05:05] Speaker D: Sorry. I'll. Okay.
She would be. I feel like this is canon. I feel like she's really good at, like, a yalaburantango.
Like, I feel like people don't know this, but, like, do you guys know this, like.
Like, you know in spy movies when they do, like, a tango scene?
[00:05:26] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:05:27] Speaker D: I feel like no one knows this about Ro, but, like, a couple people. But, like, she's really good at the tango.
Like, you give her a partner and she. She can tango. Oh, everyone.
[00:05:41] Speaker B: That was right after fencing class. They had the tango lessons right after the fencing class.
You're right, you're right, you're right.
[00:05:49] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:05:52] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:05:56] Speaker A: That's. That's what. That's how sirloin crotch won her over, actually was tango when tangoing Ro was like, dang, look at those loins.
And that's just what won her over.
[00:06:11] Speaker E: And. And listener, if you didn't know this, Ro. Ro's an orphan.
[00:06:20] Speaker C: Yeah.
She's also vegan.
[00:06:25] Speaker D: No, she's pescatarian. Ro is pescatarian.
[00:06:28] Speaker A: Are you an orphan? I thought you were pescatarian.
Yeah. Thank you. Thank you, Jack. You got it?
[00:06:36] Speaker E: Yeah, I got it.
[00:06:41] Speaker A: I don't know why I only gave you Good Charlotte is aggressive in the voice.
[00:06:50] Speaker C: The voice, the voice, the voice.
[00:06:55] Speaker A: Okay, fair enough. Oh, I have to do Good Charlotte's voice.
Okay, well, yeah, I remember that really well.
Well, Good Charlotte would probably be. She's aggressive, very physical.
Not comfortable expressing her emotions.
[00:07:14] Speaker C: I change my mind.
[00:07:15] Speaker A: Probably do a lot of. A lot of crumping. You know, it lets you look dominant, lets you be really physical.
[00:07:23] Speaker C: I changed my mind.
[00:07:24] Speaker A: You don't really have to express anything.
[00:07:26] Speaker C: You don't have to do the voice.
In fact, I'm changing my mind right now.
But actually, it's changing more and more.
[00:07:36] Speaker A: Now that I know how much Abby hates this.
[00:07:38] Speaker E: And then I close.
[00:07:46] Speaker A: Note taking. Nerds. This is episode 145 of the Accidental Adventures Dogmatic Conceptions.
[00:07:57] Speaker D: Oh.
[00:08:03] Speaker A: Which is an incredible coincidence at this point, I had no idea it was gonna have to do with dogs, so. Really?
Yeah, I mean, they're. They are the cult of the Dogma Dawn. That is completely cool. Coincidental, actually.
You guys know the deal. Love tonight. Adventure. I go.
No, but for real. Funguys.
You are on the ship.
You're on the upper deck.
There are bodies all around you. Blood everywhere.
Many of you have almost died.
Realm changing power has been expended to win this victory.
The Farseed is still there. It is simply still inert.
Resting on the deck. It's unmoving. The fluid inside is not moving.
[00:08:58] Speaker C: It's on the deck.
[00:08:59] Speaker A: Excuse me. It's in a dog. You are correct, Abby. I'm wrong.
[00:09:03] Speaker D: It was over on the dog.
[00:09:04] Speaker A: Because I'm not correct.
[00:09:07] Speaker C: It was in the dog.
[00:09:11] Speaker B: I'm Zachary.
[00:09:14] Speaker D: Who did you say?
[00:09:16] Speaker A: There's two dogs on the lower deck. And bodies and blood everywhere.
Most of you all are still.
Okay. What are you guys doing on the ship? What are you doing on the ship? What are you doing?
[00:09:29] Speaker B: He starts looting them.
[00:09:31] Speaker A: Okay, investigation check, boss.
[00:09:33] Speaker D: And tossing for the dogs. Give him a water bowl.
[00:09:38] Speaker C: We only have an hour to figure out what. What's going on.
[00:09:42] Speaker B: Yeah, Boz got a four.
[00:09:46] Speaker A: Okay, well, there are things obvious to be found. They're covered in armor, a lot of it ruined and most of it pretty inferior to what you have, but it is there.
Weapons surround you.
There are two staffs of Carchron.
You all have found these objects previously, both of the pre. Well, there's one staff of Carcran.
You all know that it's magical. Deals a little extra thunder damage when used. Not particularly powerful, but you know it is that.
But Boz, part of the difficult to discern anything in the search is that it like your ship is a. Is a massacre.
There are nine bodies on board right now. Nine dead bodies and blood match your own much theirs. The. The ship is covered in gashes and burns. It's a wreck right now. And finding things is a little difficult to. As you search.
[00:10:38] Speaker B: Right. All right. I. I stopped searching as I realized that it's kind of like sure.
[00:10:45] Speaker D: I clean.
We should clean this up later.
[00:10:51] Speaker C: And I'm gonna, yeah, I'm gonna say.
[00:10:53] Speaker D: Figure out what to do with this.
[00:10:55] Speaker C: Dog that we have.
[00:10:56] Speaker A: Wilfri and pl are both doubled over, panting and just kind of sitting down.
[00:10:59] Speaker C: Just.
[00:11:01] Speaker D: Are you guys okay? Do you need healing?
[00:11:05] Speaker A: No. They're both like, no, I'm alright. No, I'm okay. Chest.
I'm tired of these fish people.
And they both slumping against the deck. Tello is like kind of.
He's just sitting down, breathing heavily, cleaning the blood off of his rapier, just collecting himself, looking kind of stunned around the ship. Goober is at the helm and he's like, he's looking around at you guys and the book is still in his hand, still open.
He's just kind of looking around stunned at the ship. Everywhere you guys can hear some in fact from below deck.
[00:11:43] Speaker B: Is stuck down there with them. Oh, that is so poetic. Does nothing to help and then just get stuck with the dogs.
They've quartered up a tree. She's quartered up a tree. That is hilarious.
[00:11:55] Speaker D: I, I look at Tello and I say, tello, would you want Shbagoober, do you need Tello to take. To take the helm for a moment while you sit down?
[00:12:08] Speaker C: I go and give Shibuber a hug.
[00:12:10] Speaker B: I mean, what if we all need. I'll take the helm.
[00:12:14] Speaker D: Well, no, but we need. I figured Tello, I've dealt with any of this while we decide about the dogs.
[00:12:20] Speaker A: Yeah. Tello goes up and takes the helm. Goober steps away from it. Greta, you walk up and you kind of hug Shpagoober. He doesn't fight it at all. He's just also not particularly responsive and his arms a little with your hug.
He just turns a page in his book without reading it and he goes, but the koatawas are bad.
[00:12:44] Speaker D: I go and take, I go and take Shpaguber's book gently and just kind of close, close it.
[00:12:50] Speaker A: He just Lets it go.
Closes.
[00:12:55] Speaker C: Are you.
[00:12:56] Speaker D: Are you okay, Spigoober?
[00:12:59] Speaker A: I'm good. That was.
[00:13:00] Speaker D: Yeah, was. Was that the first time you.
[00:13:04] Speaker A: I've never fought anybody before you.
[00:13:07] Speaker D: You did amazing.
[00:13:13] Speaker A: He just lifts up one of his boots and blood here. It's to it. He just goes, oh.
And he just sits down at the realm at the rail in front of the helm. And it's tall enough that if you were to sit down in front of it, the rail would just be sitting in front of your face. But as a dwarf and a short dwarf, he can see under it when he sits down and he just opens the book up and just starts flipping pages. Reading him kind of absently.
[00:13:41] Speaker D: Would you like me to clean you up?
[00:13:46] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:13:48] Speaker D: I whistle him clean.
[00:13:50] Speaker A: Okay.
Thank you.
Just continues reading the pages.
I heal Ploweth next.
[00:14:10] Speaker B: It's a ph. Sound like a plough.
[00:14:12] Speaker D: Oh, is that fluff?
[00:14:17] Speaker A: Okay. Craig, what are you doing?
[00:14:19] Speaker B: I hear pullowith. I want to hear.
[00:14:21] Speaker A: Mike is misspelling names and laughing hysterically.
All right. Okay.
[00:14:29] Speaker E: Okay. I want to kill Pluff because she says she's okay, but I don't believe that.
[00:14:36] Speaker A: Tell me about that. Micah, you have to role play that now.
[00:14:40] Speaker E: Yeah. So I have lay on hands. I have never used this before. I don't know how to do this very well.
It says I can restore a total number of hit points equal to paladin level times five.
[00:14:53] Speaker A: So freaking ton dang.
[00:14:56] Speaker E: That's 13 point. That's 13 times five.
[00:15:01] Speaker A: Which we both know to be 65.
[00:15:04] Speaker E: So can I to full health.
[00:15:09] Speaker A: Okay. Describe that for me, Craig.
[00:15:12] Speaker E: I'm gonna, like, walk up to. Where is Ploth? Where is she?
[00:15:18] Speaker A: Bilfrey and Ploth have. They're both like Bilfrey. The magics healed him a little more and he was in the fight less. He's still kind of.
Everyone's relaxed, but he hasn't put his weapon up. And he's just patrolling the edge of the boat, continuing to look into the water. It's just kind of like if something else comes, he's ready. And Plough has sat down and leaned her back up against the edge of the ship. They're so big. They're both more than six feet. They're huge.
They're both very fit individuals. And she's just leaned up against the back of the deck, just panting. Her wounds don't look particularly bad at this point. The magic heals her quite a bit. She's still a little hurt, but she's just tired. She just.
I like Rick.
[00:15:58] Speaker E: Yeah, he Goes. And he like sits next to her and he says, it meant a lot, you jumping in. Just because it was important to me and to our team.
[00:16:10] Speaker A: Like, did it matter?
[00:16:12] Speaker E: It did a lot to me.
[00:16:14] Speaker A: That's all that matters.
[00:16:15] Speaker E: Exactly that, that I, I guess I didn't, I guess I didn't realize how supported.
[00:16:23] Speaker A: Slaps a huge meaty hand down on your knee and goes, you don't have to say it.
And then she rests her forearm on her knee.
[00:16:34] Speaker E: I think that he's gonna go.
[00:16:41] Speaker D: She'S.
[00:16:41] Speaker E: Gonna look intently at her and then.
[00:16:45] Speaker A: He'S just gonna rest intently back at you.
[00:16:47] Speaker E: You rest a hand on her shoulder and says, y' all mean a lot to me. And with that I'm going to say that his like hand kind of glows underneath, like silver lining.
And then it's going to like rest on her shoulder and it's going to light go into her.
[00:17:18] Speaker A: As the healing moves across her, she takes in this breath.
That's good. Thank you.
She just takes a huge meaty arm and wraps it around your shoulder. Rests her hand loosely on the other side and she goes, you're a good mon crig.
More crew.
And she just leans back against the deck and rests her hat on the railing. And she just kind of says, bilf, if anything else comes to get me on deck, you want to kill it. And he's just at the prowl, leaning over, going, oh yeah.
Just studying the water with his eyes.
[00:17:55] Speaker E: You know, it's so silly when you've been playing D and D for two years and you're not this character, but to know that her saying, you're a good man, Craig, how much that means to Craig makes me emotional.
Oh my God.
[00:18:11] Speaker A: Especially considering that you're not even a middle aged man.
[00:18:13] Speaker E: I'm not even a middle aged man.
[00:18:14] Speaker A: It's really pretty incredible.
[00:18:24] Speaker D: Is it night time? That's what I did.
[00:18:27] Speaker A: No, it's the. Oh, yes, yes. Excuse me. This entire fight happened at night. I should have commented on that more. Yeah, it's like Ro. It's like 5am it's very early morning.
Yeah, the sun hasn't even risen yet.
Especially now in winter. It'll be dark. Another hour and a half. Almost two.
[00:18:50] Speaker D: I think we should get down below deck and figure out what to do with these dogs.
[00:18:59] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:19:05] Speaker D: So boss leave roses?
[00:19:08] Speaker A: It happens sometimes. Boz suffers from a sudden gout of narcolepsy and just hits his head on the deck.
[00:19:14] Speaker B: No, Boss is awake and he is still there.
[00:19:21] Speaker D: Just thinking out loud here.
I don't Know if this would be a good idea idea or a bad idea. But since we don't want them to, like, get away and we don't want them to be near the water, would it be good to summon the fortress and put them in there?
[00:19:45] Speaker A: I don't know how you feel about dogs in the house.
[00:19:47] Speaker B: You know, you still have your spell slot.
[00:19:51] Speaker D: Yeah, says the big Mike.
[00:19:57] Speaker E: I don't understand why we can't just hog tie them up, throw them down, and then get on with it. You know what I mean?
[00:20:07] Speaker D: Well, first of all, they're dolls.
[00:20:10] Speaker A: Right now, this is the largest degree to which Micah disappears into the character is just her willingness to kill things is so different than real Micah. I respect.
[00:20:18] Speaker C: No, I'm serious.
So if we turn these guys back into Kuo Toa, they're. We're like, we're gonna get the orb and then we're. They're. They're just gonna go away. Like, we're gonna have to either kill them or, like, convince them to go away somehow, which I don't think we're gonna be able to do.
[00:20:34] Speaker D: I'm fine.
[00:20:35] Speaker E: I think we should just kill them.
[00:20:36] Speaker D: Okay, hold on. I'm fine with killing them, but first we need to ask them why. Like, why they were here. Obviously it was for the orbital, as we can tell, but while I can still communicate with them or if Greta can cast. If I lose my communication with them, we need to ask, like, do they have like a, you know, an army down below waiting if they don't come back or something? Like, need to know these things.
[00:21:04] Speaker B: You should turn part of the mansion into a prison.
You should make part of it a prison. Change the gym into a prison or. Well, I can put them in there.
[00:21:12] Speaker D: I could just add a prison.
Next time I cast.
[00:21:16] Speaker B: Just add a prison into Craig's room. He's really. He liked.
[00:21:18] Speaker D: I'm not gonna put it in Craig.
[00:21:22] Speaker E: Oh, I can.
[00:21:23] Speaker B: Oh, my gosh. What if they have those, like.
[00:21:24] Speaker A: Oh, Mike had a concerning reaction to that.
[00:21:27] Speaker B: The hanging. The hanging cages, you know, that hang from the ceiling. You could do that.
[00:21:33] Speaker A: Tell us that the helm.
This is what the kids call a bad look.
[00:21:40] Speaker B: If anybody wants to make an insight check. Boss is joking about that, but he's not joking about prison.
[00:21:45] Speaker A: Hello. Can tell you.
[00:21:46] Speaker D: No. Yeah, he knows you will. Yeah, he does.
[00:21:47] Speaker B: Finger crossbows, Adam.
[00:21:49] Speaker D: However, I have a plus 12 to inside and I know you well, so.
Yeah, I mean.
[00:22:00] Speaker B: Prison.
[00:22:02] Speaker D: Well, if we don't, they're just gonna come back.
[00:22:04] Speaker C: Are we prisoner keeping type of group?
[00:22:09] Speaker A: I Don't think we need prisoner.
[00:22:12] Speaker B: Let's just have a place. No, we're gonna let them go. I'm not killing them. We just gotta keep them somewhere so that we can get the orb, find out what's going on and keep us safe. Right?
[00:22:21] Speaker C: Why can't we do that literally right now?
[00:22:25] Speaker D: Yeah, why can't we just go down, have Bill free and Ploth guard the. The door so they can't. Like if they run out, they're ready.
[00:22:35] Speaker B: Okay. Okay, here's. Here's what I'm thinking. One.
I don't know. Like you said, I don't know what's below the waves. The ocean is bigger than the land is right?
[00:22:45] Speaker A: They're.
[00:22:46] Speaker B: They're literally giving birth to a God down there. We all saw him. If we can remove the risk of the unknown by going into a place that we control and change nothing else, I think that's an no brainer. I think that's a pretty easy choice to make, cuz. Number one.
[00:23:02] Speaker D: So you're saying I summon the fortress?
[00:23:04] Speaker B: Yeah, like summon the fortress. Put a little place where they can't hurt us and then we talk to them there. And that's it. And then we get to enjoy your fortress again.
[00:23:11] Speaker D: I think. I think I could. Okay, dm, tell me this. Tell me if this is possible.
What Ro is thinking.
[00:23:18] Speaker A: Smells really good.
[00:23:19] Speaker D: What's up?
Because of how.
Because of how I kind of control things within the fortress.
Once we unpolymorphed them. Could I have like ropes tie them up?
[00:23:39] Speaker B: You could just make shackles. You could have shackles.
[00:23:42] Speaker A: You can have. You can have objects there to your desire.
[00:23:46] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:23:47] Speaker A: It's just up to you to wield them. Like, I don't know that you can wield the house again against people. Okay, but you can. You can have whatever you want in it.
[00:23:54] Speaker B: This ain't in Kanto. Okay? This, it's not encanto. All right?
[00:23:58] Speaker D: I have not seen that, but okay.
[00:24:00] Speaker B: We don't talk about Bruno.
[00:24:05] Speaker A: The house is wielded against people. Traps, everyone. Shackles.
[00:24:09] Speaker B: Okay, Zach, you haven't seen it. It gets dark, it gets.
[00:24:15] Speaker D: It executes them. It's, you know, it's your typical Disney G rated movie.
[00:24:20] Speaker C: Turns them into dogs.
No, we don't talk about the rats, Landon. It's like.
[00:24:25] Speaker B: No, we talk about rats. Talk about Bruno.
[00:24:28] Speaker A: Oh, my goodness. What does the party do?
[00:24:31] Speaker E: I say we should make it Rose.
[00:24:35] Speaker D: I say we will summon the fortress.
We'll get ready to tie them up the moment we unpolymorph them.
And then we will talk to them first. The moment we unpolymorph them. Here's the plan.
[00:24:52] Speaker B: Oh, man.
[00:24:53] Speaker D: Craig, Greta, you guys tie them up.
[00:25:01] Speaker C: By tying them up, and then little hands, very small.
[00:25:05] Speaker D: Okay, well, somebody needs to tie them up, and the other people need to grab any weapons off of them quickly.
[00:25:12] Speaker C: I'll grab the weapon.
[00:25:13] Speaker B: We have a prison.
We won't have to rush.
[00:25:16] Speaker D: I am not making.
[00:25:17] Speaker B: We could just have them. Not a prison, just a room. They. That we can see them. They can't get to us. We can talk to them without having rush.
[00:25:25] Speaker C: With metal bars and maybe a chamber.
[00:25:34] Speaker B: I can cast a metal bar.
They can.
All right.
[00:25:44] Speaker E: I just. I just think we should do something. And I think that the best option is to remove them from this general location. I think it would be great just to put them in a house, in the room, lock the door.
But, like, we could even do glass cages.
[00:26:02] Speaker D: They'll still be able to cast through it. You guys.
[00:26:09] Speaker A: Why doesn't someone give me an arcana check?
[00:26:11] Speaker D: I'll do an arcana check.
[00:26:13] Speaker B: I'm not scared about casting spells. I just as much control. If we can get over this interaction, I feel like we should take.
[00:26:20] Speaker D: They could call someone.
Okay, for my arcana check, I got a 25. 5.
[00:26:29] Speaker B: I mean, all these problems exist no matter where they.
[00:26:31] Speaker A: Oh, wait, Ro.
[00:26:33] Speaker B: Hold on a second.
[00:26:35] Speaker A: There's only one priest left alive. If you separated them from their staff and their holy symbol, that would probably resolve the vast majority of your issues here. I mean, there might be a couple spells they could still cast, but not a lot. Yeah, and come to think of it, if you bound their hands, they'd lose all somatic components. Shoot. If you bound and gagged them, they wouldn't be able to cast at all.
[00:26:57] Speaker D: Being in the first occurs to you.
[00:26:58] Speaker A: Immediately as an experienced spellcaster.
[00:27:01] Speaker D: That's why I was saying we shouldn't put them in the cage. Let's tie them up.
[00:27:06] Speaker B: If it makes you feel better, I'm down for anything.
[00:27:09] Speaker D: Tie them up, grab the staff. That's. That's the main goal. Okay. And grab the orb.
So let's do it.
[00:27:17] Speaker A: Cracks his knuckles and goes. Here's I got toying them up.
[00:27:20] Speaker E: My one request is that Bill free and Cloth and me are the ones that tie them up. I think that that may be the wisest cuz.
[00:27:27] Speaker A: Cracks her neck and goes.
[00:27:29] Speaker C: And I'll snatch the weapons.
[00:27:32] Speaker D: Are we. Are we doing this all in the fortress?
[00:27:36] Speaker B: Y' all go. I'm going to stay here with the just in Case something happens.
[00:27:40] Speaker D: Balls. Well, you have to. You have to get rid of your concentration. But I.
Is the problem.
[00:27:46] Speaker C: Wait. Damn. Damn. If we take. If we take the Kuo Toa into a different dimension, AKA the thing, is the spell gonna automatically break?
[00:27:59] Speaker D: How does that work?
[00:28:01] Speaker A: That was a question. I was prepared to.
[00:28:04] Speaker B: What's fun is. Oh, man.
[00:28:08] Speaker E: We could kill one of them right here.
[00:28:12] Speaker C: Well, we don't, do we? Have. We kept them separated enough to know which is the priest and which is the.
[00:28:18] Speaker D: Well, one is a white dog and one is.
Oh, I forgot, the priest is the white dog.
[00:28:37] Speaker A: You guys start talking out choices and I'm gonna keep reading.
[00:28:39] Speaker B: Okay, so.
[00:28:43] Speaker D: Reasoning behind the fortress again. Just to keep them away from the ocean.
[00:28:48] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:28:49] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:28:50] Speaker C: Because we don't technically know what's inside.
[00:28:52] Speaker D: I mean, that makes sense.
[00:28:55] Speaker B: Plus, if they get in, I don't. The ocean, they're gone with the orb, right? Like, yeah, if they get that, like, we're not getting them back. Like that. We're lucky to get him this time. So if we leave him here and something goes wrong, even if, like a 1% chance, like, I don't know, I'd be heartbroken. If we could have prevented losing old.
[00:29:12] Speaker E: Guaranteed I would be so heartbroken.
[00:29:14] Speaker B: That would break me. If we had the choice to easily solve that and we'd lost it.
[00:29:19] Speaker E: Okay, what would be the downfall of them going to the fortress? Because I feel like they're very limited in what they can do.
It's not. They can't find it, you know?
[00:29:31] Speaker D: Well, no, they.
They wouldn't ever be able to get back in. I just. I. I just wanted to make sure that we were okay with that.
I mean, if anything happens, the next time I cast it, it'll be back to normal again.
[00:29:44] Speaker A: I do not read any language that would insinuate that moving it to a demiplane would break the function of the spell.
[00:29:51] Speaker D: Okay, what about. What about one person right now? What about one person?
[00:29:57] Speaker B: Staying here is a concentration spell, and you maintain it while it's out. While they're in another dimension.
[00:30:03] Speaker D: That's true.
[00:30:05] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:30:05] Speaker A: I mean, the thing you're literally doing, like, I see what you're saying.
[00:30:10] Speaker B: Like they physically go to a new place.
[00:30:13] Speaker D: But what about. Boss?
Concentration?
[00:30:15] Speaker A: Are you maintaining the spell on them across the realm or just that you're banishing from this realm for a time?
[00:30:20] Speaker B: I don't know. I'm fine. I think it's semantics. I can walk through the door and hold it long enough for us to get him tied up and then walk back Out.
[00:30:26] Speaker D: Yeah, that's fine. Okay. Yeah, I'm not gonna.
[00:30:28] Speaker A: I'm not gonna do anything about that now. It's gonna work for as long as it works.
[00:30:33] Speaker D: So Ro. Ro starts cast and starts casting a door.
[00:30:40] Speaker A: The long song plays, this is employed, and from it emerges that great door flashes into existence. And you all pass through into your fantastic fortress.
[00:30:50] Speaker D: Well, that was. I did do it downstairs.
[00:30:53] Speaker A: Okay, so you guys go downstairs. Well, here's the thing that happens first, okay. As Tello maintains the helm and Spaghuber sits listlessly on the upper deck among nine dead bodies. And you all go downstairs with two dead bodies.
And when you guys get downstairs, hell hath no fury like the two small dogs that meet you.
The incessant endless yipping is replaced by the most violent growling and snapping.
[00:31:28] Speaker B: Don't take damage. Don't take damage, Ro.
[00:31:31] Speaker A: Don't get hurt with your boots and implements and clothing. Nothing's getting through but the hate, the small, the tiny dog hate writhing from them. And you are. Your shoes are. Your boots are mauled by two small dogs.
[00:31:47] Speaker D: Sick.
I say. I say, Greta, do you have any. Do you have any, like, old sandwiches in your bag that you could throw in your pockets that you could throw to the dog to distract them from.
[00:32:02] Speaker A: Jeffrey and Plough with you? And they do manhandle the dogs, but pretty severely, and pick them up and grab them by. High enough on the shoulders that they're kind of stuck like this. They're still just.
[00:32:16] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:32:17] Speaker C: They're not dogs, Jackie.
[00:32:19] Speaker B: They're not real dogs.
[00:32:20] Speaker D: I can't.
[00:32:21] Speaker A: They're fish boys.
[00:32:22] Speaker E: They're fish boys and they like death.
[00:32:25] Speaker C: It could be.
[00:32:26] Speaker A: I understand. It's hard not to empathize with the dogs.
[00:32:30] Speaker D: Okay. So I start casting the door onto the. Like the tree wall.
[00:32:36] Speaker A: It emerges, you all pass in, and you are inside of the. You are inside of the fortress with the.
With the vicious tiny dogs.
[00:32:51] Speaker C: Should we do it in the training room or.
[00:32:55] Speaker D: Yeah, that'd be good, probably. And. And Ro has in her. When she had cast it, she set up like, two, like, chairs and a bunch of ropes and shackles and stuff in the training room for them to.
[00:33:11] Speaker A: You're going to save the checks, okay? 2 Kuoa do not beat all, boss. Have you stayed or gone. Have you stayed on the ship or you've gone with them?
You're muted by the.
[00:33:23] Speaker B: When. When they. When it's time to do concentration, I'll drop it and then I'll head back to the ship.
[00:33:29] Speaker A: Okay? Okay.
They don't beat the six of you especially not Bill Free, Plough and Craig.
They get re injured a little bit as they are thrown into the chairs and tied down. Bill Free and Plough, I mean, I assume Greg, not to speak for you, but billfrey and Plough are pretty rough with them. They are parted from their staff and weapon very swiftly.
In fact, the crusher, as he's unpolymorphed and, like, starts to pick up the spear, ploth punches him so hard that he loses three teeth.
And while he's stunned, Bill Free doesn't even spare a second and just does, like, a full elbow to the throat. Just.
And as he's sitting there sputtering and coughing, he gets shoved into the chair and tied down. And the other dog watches that happen.
And as it's unpolymorphed, the way it is tackled and separated from its staff and then immediately, roughly gagged and thrown into the chair and pulled down, I mean, they don't hardly have a chance.
And as they are tied into the chairs that are bound, bolted to the floor and gagged, both of them are struggling and spitting and attempting to curse at you in their native language, but very restrained.
[00:34:46] Speaker C: I cast tongues in myself.
[00:34:48] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:34:49] Speaker D: Yeah, excellent. And I still have it, correct?
[00:34:52] Speaker A: Yes, yes. For a long time.
[00:34:53] Speaker D: Yeah.
I.
The crusher is not gagged. Right.
[00:35:00] Speaker A: Okay. He can be ungagged. Absolutely. I mean, Bill Free and Plough will follow whatever direction you give here because.
[00:35:05] Speaker D: Can I tell. He never cast anything, did he?
[00:35:08] Speaker A: No, You. You can tell well enough that it doesn't even seem particularly intelligent.
[00:35:13] Speaker D: Okay, cool.
[00:35:14] Speaker A: Boss. Heads back to the ship.
[00:35:16] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:35:17] Speaker A: And the Crusher is just spewing insults and curses at you. And. And not just curses. Like, we use curse. Like curses. Oh, just like, like, like medieval curse, you know, you die, your progeny will see no light. You know, just. Just. Just hateful.
[00:35:37] Speaker C: He's Irish.
[00:35:38] Speaker B: Love Scottish. Katoa for sure. I love this.
[00:35:41] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:35:41] Speaker A: I don't know why I want Scottish. He's not Scottish.
[00:35:45] Speaker B: My kids will decorate with the blood of your enemies. I can't do Scottish.
[00:35:49] Speaker D: Okay.
Hi.
Are there more of you?
[00:35:59] Speaker C: Are there more?
[00:36:01] Speaker D: Like, down, down below the ship?
[00:36:07] Speaker A: He just, like, closes his mouth for a second, like, kind of lowers his jaw and then just spits a ton of his own blood all at your feet.
[00:36:17] Speaker D: Okay, cool.
If you don't answer me, you're gonna lose more teeth again.
[00:36:23] Speaker A: And he, like, gives you a face in. Bill Free and play cloth, just both step right really close to it, and Bill Free even grabs the top of his head and shoves it sideways in the chair and make a. Make an intimidation check at advantage for me, bro.
[00:36:39] Speaker B: Just so y' all know, waterboarding is not legally torture, guys. So y' all can do that. If so.
[00:36:48] Speaker D: That'S gonna.
That's gonna be a night. A 19.
[00:36:52] Speaker C: Thank you, lion dance.
[00:36:55] Speaker B: I was joking. I hope y' all don't do that.
[00:36:57] Speaker A: He is deeply dedicated to his cause, so he's gonna try and save. Oh, he rolled super high, but not high enough.
He sort of pants. And he looks panicked for a second to the priest, who just, like, gnawing against the rope and turning to him just like, like, gives the most. You better not eyes. But as he looks concerned, can I like, Wilfri pushes. Oh, go ahead. Yeah.
[00:37:22] Speaker D: I was gonna say, since we won the check, can I say to him.
Can I say they can just hit you? I can do a lot more damage with this. And she holds up the loot.
[00:37:36] Speaker B: Oh.
[00:37:36] Speaker A: And as you shake the loot, it's in that moment that he looks like he's, like, giving the do your worst eyes to them. But as he remembers the way that you just could. Commanded the life out of the assassins, pulled the souls out of them, he, like, pants. And you watch the fear start to spread all over his face. And you can hear the priest, like, spitting curses through the gag, trying to tell him not to, but he turns and goes, okay, okay, okay. And what everyone else is hearing is, but Ro, you and Greta can understand and can be translating passively. We don't have to roleplay all of it.
[00:38:15] Speaker C: I can cast.
[00:38:22] Speaker A: And so as he responds, he says, okay, no, we were the full team. It was just us.
[00:38:31] Speaker D: Why did you want it? The seed?
[00:38:36] Speaker A: We will not let eyes go back to the usurper.
[00:38:40] Speaker D: Okay, okay.
Can I do a insight check to make sure that he was the full team?
[00:38:51] Speaker A: Sure. Make an insight check.
[00:38:58] Speaker D: Oh, that's going to be a 29.
[00:39:06] Speaker A: I'm not exactly sure why you and Abby roll dice.
Like, I think these are just request request checks. Look me in the eyes and petulantly level. I succeed.
But, yes, the fear.
You. You can tell that it's almost like he hates his own words that he wants so badly not to be telling you, but there's panic, there's adrenaline. I mean, you just watched 11 of his own slaughtered. You know, there's competing terror here. But part of what's getting through to you is it's not just that you've overcome him. It's like you get the feeling that one, he might not be really smart enough to fabricate a meaningful deception. This doesn't, he does not strike you as an intelligent individual. And then two, you get the feeling that he is so worked up and frazzled and that like honesty is just coming out of him. Even, even if he's not trying to cooperate with you, he's having, he's having trouble thinking elaborate thoughts right now.
[00:40:14] Speaker D: So here's the thing.
If my, the rest of everyone agrees, agrees with me, we're gonna let you guys go, I think. But you have to go and tell everybody else that you are not to mess with us again.
[00:40:39] Speaker A: You're going to die.
You're going to die.
And then he looks over at Craig. He's going to die.
You are all going to die.
[00:40:52] Speaker E: Leans forward and puts his like sword, his like hand over his sword.
And he like, like, you know, like through gritting teeth tells, tell him to watch his tone kind of a thing.
[00:41:10] Speaker A: He's, he's, he's giving his, his hard face hasn't gone away. He's still burying his fangs, half of which are missing. But he has leaned all the way back in his chair. Just like when you bag, but they don't quit.
And he just, his Craig, kind of intimidating, kind of intimidated, you know, like half heartedly just, he like won't quit displaying the aggression, but looks really scared of Craig.
[00:41:42] Speaker D: It Rose says in common back to everyone, she goes, guys, we didn't, we didn't decide or discuss how we were going to get them back out of here, did we?
[00:41:53] Speaker E: I wasn't planning on it.
[00:41:57] Speaker C: I, I, I think we should let him go.
I mean if they, if we let them go and they come back to fight us, that's one thing.
But if we let him go and they run away, then.
[00:42:13] Speaker E: Yeah, it's just like I, okay, can you translate something?
[00:42:17] Speaker B: If you hate something, let it go. If it comes back to fight you.
[00:42:20] Speaker D: It'S yours to kill forever. If you hate me, let me go.
[00:42:29] Speaker E: Abby or Greta, can you translate something?
[00:42:32] Speaker C: Am I translating? Yes.
[00:42:35] Speaker E: What, what do you fear about this old seed? What does that mean to you?
[00:42:45] Speaker C: I translated.
What do you say? Why do you fear? I don't say old seed. I say, why do you fear this orb?
[00:43:00] Speaker A: Okay.
He looks genuinely confused when you ask, as if it was a stupid question and whatever, as if he's stunned that you would ask. And he responds.
It is the eye of the liar.
The sight of the usurper.
There is one God in this plane.
You will own the oceans.
You will devour the land.
There will be no liar.
You deceptive thing from some other place.
Only Kangren.
[00:43:43] Speaker C: I relay this to Craig.
Do we have the orb?
[00:43:46] Speaker A: Have a.
[00:43:47] Speaker C: Have we gotten it off of the priest's person?
[00:43:50] Speaker A: Yes. Yeah, you can have retrieved it.
[00:43:52] Speaker C: Okay. I take it and I put it in my cloak of holding Greta.
[00:43:58] Speaker A: When you pick it up, it's still inert, but you get it about 10ft away from the priest and the fluid starts to move again. And when it does, you watch the priest bear that eye. Can I on their wrist flare a little bit.
[00:44:14] Speaker D: I was going to say, did we take the bracelets off? We didn't.
[00:44:17] Speaker A: You can slip it off now.
[00:44:19] Speaker D: I do.
[00:44:19] Speaker A: He kind of struggles a little bit, but there's no chance with the wrist bound.
[00:44:24] Speaker E: Can I talk to old well, the.
[00:44:27] Speaker A: Moment Greta walks away with it, you feel the connection mentally re established. Craig and Greta as you go to put the orb in the cloak. Right when you rotate your wrist, you're hand just closes from the tension of your fist wrapped around the orb and the orb is just gone.
And all of you all here in all of your heads at once.
Oh, thank you.
That was annoying.
[00:44:56] Speaker E: And I talk into my head to old.
Give me the inside scoop on that mess.
[00:45:04] Speaker A: The awesome stupid. It's not complicated.
They adore their God in whom I am deeply uninterested.
This IMM competition.
[00:45:23] Speaker E: That is really demeaning to you for them to think that that's competition.
[00:45:31] Speaker A: But anyways, to be clear, Craig Carcon is powerful.
I would not be surprised if he is stronger than I.
I just don't care.
[00:45:46] Speaker D: Great.
[00:45:50] Speaker C: I'm going to Sorry.
[00:45:53] Speaker E: Is it worth letting go? Like letting him go? Like what? Would you prefer I kill them, you guys. But I'm just double checking.
[00:46:08] Speaker A: Well, this isn't Craig's head. Nobody else is hearing this.
Yeah, well, Craig, it's your choice what to do with them.
I don't think the plane is particularly better because they breathe, but I also really just don't care.
They are annoying.
That is all.
[00:46:42] Speaker E: I I'm going to and if Greta's okay with it, have her translate one more time.
[00:46:54] Speaker C: Yes, yes, yes, yes. Okay.
I, I, I cast tongues on Craig.
[00:47:00] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:47:04] Speaker E: That'S so cool.
[00:47:05] Speaker A: Okay, scary face.
[00:47:09] Speaker E: I'm going to say that like. Craig starts to walk slowly, very slowly, intentionally intimidating posture toward them, saying listen here you are nothing but the pest of the ocean.
He doesn't even respect you.
You mean nothing to him.
[00:47:35] Speaker C: I, I interrupt you and I want you to I say craig, these are people like that we don't like. They don't agree with our little pocket God friend. But, like, they have their own stuff going on. They may not be that. I'm saying this in common. They may not be that smart, but they're, like, doing.
They're doing what they think is right, like Greta can't. They don't know. They don't know half of what we know.
[00:47:57] Speaker A: Before this. The Kuo Toa, who's ungagged, lunges against his chair and just starts spewing things I would never say on this mic against you and the prisoners. Priest just bites down against the gag and hisses their eye, their pupils narrowing.
[00:48:14] Speaker E: Okay, okay, look, all I'm trying to say is don't come near us again.
It will be the last breath.
[00:48:26] Speaker A: The Kuo Toa is like, he kind of.
You can see him kind of summoning. Trying to summon courage, and he just glares back at you and says, then we die.
But Corkran will have all.
You will all be in chains.
You can see him kind of breathing heavily as if he's preparing for a death. Just.
[00:48:56] Speaker C: Okay. Grettis isn't common.
Well, I don't see any ways to move forward with this conversation productively. Do we know how we're gonna get them? Are we setting them free?
[00:49:13] Speaker D: I'm.
Should we keep their stuff?
Rose has all this in common, too. Yeah, I mean, I don't really want to. They might be able to trace it back.
[00:49:34] Speaker C: Good.
Turn someone into a big bird, Pick them up.
[00:49:40] Speaker D: And toss them.
[00:49:42] Speaker C: Carry them far away.
[00:49:45] Speaker D: Oh, you mean, like, one of us could turn into a bird and take a.
[00:49:51] Speaker C: Like, a giant eagle?
[00:49:52] Speaker D: Fly them way far away.
[00:49:53] Speaker A: Fly them a mile out, drop them, fly back?
[00:49:55] Speaker D: Yeah, we could. We could do that.
[00:49:58] Speaker C: I'd say, like, two, three or four miles. Like.
[00:50:00] Speaker D: Yeah, as far as. As far as Whoever could go. 7, 7, maybe 8, 13, 14. Okay.
Could. Could one of our eagle things we turn into Zach. Carry both of them? Okay. Easy.
[00:50:18] Speaker A: Very easy.
[00:50:18] Speaker D: Would one of y' all want to do the honors to carry them far away?
[00:50:23] Speaker C: I'll do it.
[00:50:24] Speaker D: You want to do it, Greta? Yep. For it. Okay.
[00:50:27] Speaker C: Yep.
[00:50:29] Speaker D: I guess we gotta get them out, though. Are we gonna be able to all get them out of here first?
[00:50:39] Speaker A: Bill, free and plough. Just look at you.
[00:50:41] Speaker D: Yeah, I. Yeah, I know you guys are sorry.
[00:50:45] Speaker A: And the glare was not for you. They, like, glared at them.
[00:50:48] Speaker D: Okay. I guess let's take him out of here.
And then, Greta, I'll turn you into the. The eagle. Out. Outside.
Okay.
[00:50:59] Speaker C: Sounds good. And I'll pick him up.
[00:51:01] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:51:03] Speaker A: Would it be better if they Weren't awake.
[00:51:08] Speaker C: I mean, I don't want to drop them in the well. I guess they can breathe water.
[00:51:11] Speaker D: Yeah, they'd be fine.
I think they'd be fine. Fine. Yeah. That way they don't.
Yeah, probably be good.
[00:51:19] Speaker A: That's better.
[00:51:20] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:51:22] Speaker A: You. You give the last. Yeah. Bill free just turns around gently palms the top of one of their heads and reels back with a punch that comes around so hard that their head, like, snap backs against the chair and that. And the priest is just out. And the other kuoa looks forward, and he can't finish. Finish the phrase before plof just roundhouses him around. And he's like half, like, kind of blinks again. And then she just backhands him so hard that he falls out. A couple more teeth come out.
They untie the knots, carry them out.
The two kuo toa, in very rough shape are dragged out of the mansion up the ladder. The mansion stays there with the door up the deck.
Greta, the spell is cast over you.
I assume you guys are keeping track of slots. And as you turn, your claws wrap around them, and you and you all watch as Greta flies away. The deck is still covered in bodies, but you and the ship is crammed with them. It's not that big of a ship, but you fly away. How far out, Greta?
[00:52:29] Speaker C: It'd take me to fly 10 miles.
[00:52:31] Speaker A: Okay, no, I'm asking.
[00:52:34] Speaker C: I'm asking.
[00:52:35] Speaker A: You could get. You could get.
I mean, we could literally do the math, but I don't care right now.
There are moments of tension to worry about those rules. You could get, like, three or four miles out within. How long is polymorph? An hour?
[00:52:53] Speaker D: Yeah, you could.
[00:52:55] Speaker A: You could get five or six miles out. No. Okay, yeah, yeah, in like, half an hour. Plenty of time to come back.
[00:53:03] Speaker C: Okay, I do that. I go, like, five miles.
[00:53:07] Speaker A: Okay. They wake up halfway through. The priest was left gagged, so that, like, and, and they do try some spell casting at you, but the components can't work correctly out of their mouth. Just furious, hateful.
The crusher is very quiet, and.
[00:53:26] Speaker B: You.
[00:53:26] Speaker A: Can see the fear on his face. You get some distance off and just let go. And they.
[00:53:32] Speaker C: Oh, I, I, I fly down to the water and sure, like, drop them in the water.
[00:53:37] Speaker A: If you drop them a foot out, they're still going to. I mean, you know.
[00:53:41] Speaker C: Yeah, but I'm not, I'm not like, dropping them from 30 for sure.
[00:53:45] Speaker A: That'd be crazy.
As you drop them in, you just fly back on your way back. One steeled look behind you watch as the priest finally whips the gag off and just swims high enough to watch their head bob out of the water. And they glare at you before sinking back down and you fly back.
[00:54:03] Speaker D: Can I say, while that was going on, I was.
I was doing some mending and prestidigitating some of the deck.
[00:54:14] Speaker A: Absolutely.
[00:54:14] Speaker D: And I feel like be doing that.
[00:54:16] Speaker A: For the next couple days before this is cleaned and bettered. But you absolutely can at some point while you're there.
[00:54:22] Speaker D: Yeah. Getting rid of Bill Free Ghost.
[00:54:25] Speaker A: Do we particularly care about keeping any of these bodies?
[00:54:28] Speaker D: I don't. I don't think so.
I think we just get plot just.
[00:54:33] Speaker A: Nods and goes off of them.
[00:54:35] Speaker D: If there's something you guys want off of them.
[00:54:40] Speaker A: She hucks one of the crushers into the ocean.
Do you guys try to loot them?
[00:54:49] Speaker D: Don't I know that Boss maybe wanted to. So I guess if you want to actively do that when he comes back.
[00:54:59] Speaker E: I should not. What I should want to do that.
[00:55:07] Speaker A: Craig can help.
So somebody should make an investigation check.
[00:55:12] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:55:13] Speaker A: Whoever wants to do that.
[00:55:14] Speaker C: I mean, I'm a bird.
[00:55:17] Speaker D: I'll do it. I'll do it on boss's behalf because I'm not doing it, but I know Boz wanted to.
[00:55:22] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:55:23] Speaker D: Okay. Investigation. That's gonna be Amy.
[00:55:28] Speaker E: And it's advantage because I'm helping.
[00:55:32] Speaker D: Oh, is it?
[00:55:33] Speaker A: Okay, Craig, you want to guide her?
[00:55:37] Speaker D: Okay, you're guided.
Sick. I got a four.
[00:55:42] Speaker B: All right. What are the clip notes? What I missed?
[00:55:44] Speaker D: What I missed.
Well, Landon, landon, what's your plus to investigation? No, no, you got.
You got an 18 and investigating the bodies of the Kuo Toa.
[00:56:00] Speaker B: Oh, I would be going through the methodical and like cleaning the ship and like. Like you guys.
[00:56:04] Speaker D: Well, we're doing that, but.
[00:56:07] Speaker A: Oh, I knew their body.
Yeah, their bodies and you found so interestingly, they do have coin on them. It's not coin that you have reference for.
It looks like it's it. All their coins are bronze.
So you all have.
You find on all the bodies together.
Oh, 59 bronze.
Somebody can add that to your inventory.
[00:56:41] Speaker D: You can take that, Lando.
[00:56:45] Speaker B: Got it. 59 bron wins.
[00:56:48] Speaker A: With the essential information gathered and the two prisoners thrown far away back into the ocean. The rest of the bodies are rolled off the edge of the boat. You gather that there's very little. There was magic utilized, but a lot of it was derived from Carcohen. There's very little magical objects upon them other than the staff of Carcone thrown over. And you all can keep from the one priest that bracelet if you so desire, and have that, but otherwise they are thrown.
[00:57:12] Speaker B: Boz takes it.
[00:57:14] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:57:18] Speaker C: I actually. Can I keep the staffs?
[00:57:22] Speaker A: Okay, you keep. Greta, you can have two staffs of Cargrim in your possession. They don't really fit in the pocket. They're a little too tall, but they can be on the ship. They don't really fit in your.
[00:57:33] Speaker C: I keep them in my room.
[00:57:35] Speaker A: Okay, you don't have room. Oh, in the. In the mansion.
Okay. You are aware that when the mansion closes, they'll be shunted out, but you can put them there for now, for certain.
[00:57:45] Speaker C: Wait, they won't be there.
[00:57:46] Speaker A: You can't. You can't put material objects in the mansion. They can stay there, but the moment the end, the mansion ends, they just fall out. What's up, boss?
[00:57:53] Speaker C: So, wait, I'm confused.
[00:57:56] Speaker A: That's true. If I put anything outside the mansion that you put in the mansion when the spell ends, the objects are pooped back out.
[00:58:06] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:58:06] Speaker C: So they just be on the deck.
[00:58:09] Speaker D: When the mansion is up. You can put anything in there, and you can take.
You can take your own stuff in and out, but anything that's part of the mansion dissipates, and anything that's yours has to come back out with you.
[00:58:24] Speaker C: I see. Thank you.
I put them on the deck, in the port, in the dungeon.
[00:58:31] Speaker A: I understand what you're saying.
[00:58:32] Speaker D: I would like.
[00:58:34] Speaker B: Okay, I was next eq, but I can.
[00:58:39] Speaker D: I'm sorry, I. Mine did not have to do with the. Any looting of things. It had to do with Spaghuber.
[00:58:50] Speaker B: So mine had to do with something else other than looting as well.
[00:58:53] Speaker A: Go ahead, boss.
[00:58:55] Speaker C: Go ahead.
[00:58:56] Speaker B: I go over to Grieva and I say, Grba.
Yeah, 6H, can you help me with something, B?
[00:59:07] Speaker C: What's up?
[00:59:08] Speaker B: I have this heart in a jar and I still don't know what its deal is.
Can you cast legend Lore on it, please?
[00:59:17] Speaker A: Real quick question.
Do you still have the heart or did you leave it in possession of some.
[00:59:23] Speaker D: Something?
[00:59:24] Speaker B: No, it's on the ship.
It's on the ship.
[00:59:26] Speaker D: It's been on the ship.
[00:59:27] Speaker B: It's. Yeah, it's been on the ship.
[00:59:30] Speaker A: Okay, sorry. Sorry. Yes.
[00:59:32] Speaker B: Before we leave, can you please. Please.
[00:59:35] Speaker D: We leave?
[00:59:36] Speaker B: Yeah, the ship.
The next place.
We ain't staying here forever.
[00:59:42] Speaker C: Today, right now.
[00:59:43] Speaker D: I didn't know what you.
[00:59:44] Speaker B: It'd be cool.
I mean, I think Ro wanted to go talk to Spaghuber, but after that. Like, after that. After that. Yeah, let's legend some lore.
[00:59:54] Speaker C: Let's legend. Some lore. Dude.
[00:59:56] Speaker B: Amen. I didn't use my shadows in the fight, Zachary. I did it.
[01:00:00] Speaker A: Oh, it's the curse.
The curse. It's the curse.
[01:00:05] Speaker C: There would be so many pieces on the, on the board.
[01:00:09] Speaker D: There would be because you also have a Max.
[01:00:12] Speaker B: Oh, by the way, they probably would have died to spirit guardians.
[01:00:15] Speaker D: Landon, you didn't.
[01:00:17] Speaker B: Prisoners.
[01:00:17] Speaker A: That's probably true. The shadows are probably all gone from spirit guardians. But then Boz would have gotten them back from the people he killed. So you have three Kuo Toa shadows now.
[01:00:28] Speaker B: No, no, no, Zack. Zach, I, I.
Okay, let's. Can we talk about it after? Can we discuss together after? Okay, sure.
[01:00:36] Speaker E: Okay.
[01:00:37] Speaker D: No. Greta turned into a bird and flew them miles and miles or like miles away and dropped them back in the ocean.
And we told them, do not come back or you will have issues with us.
[01:00:51] Speaker B: Cool. Cool, Cool.
[01:00:52] Speaker C: Craig and I had an argument.
[01:00:55] Speaker D: Oh, yeah, we argued.
May I talk to Tush?
[01:01:04] Speaker A: Yes, absolutely.
[01:01:04] Speaker D: Okay.
[01:01:05] Speaker A: Sorry, I'm taking notes. On what? You guys.
[01:01:06] Speaker D: No, you're fine. I'm gonna go up to Spagoover. Is he still kind of a little out of it?
[01:01:14] Speaker A: He looks a little returned to earth, but he's only gotten more solemn. He set the book down next to him and he's just.
He keeps staring at all the blood all over the deck. The bodies have all been pushed off, and it took Plough and Bill free and Craig to get that gulper over the side. But everyone's.
[01:01:31] Speaker D: Stop, Landon, stop.
[01:01:33] Speaker A: How many times have you sent this?
Did you just send that message? 15 times.
[01:01:38] Speaker D: 33 landed.
[01:01:41] Speaker B: I did not send it 33 times. That is.
[01:01:43] Speaker D: Why does mine say 33?
[01:01:47] Speaker A: Movie into the chat. Anyway, I, I. Yeah, you go too.
[01:01:56] Speaker D: Yeah. I, I gently, like, I hold out my hand and I say, shpiguber, do you wanna get away from all of this for a moment?
[01:02:07] Speaker A: Yes, please.
[01:02:09] Speaker D: And she takes.
[01:02:09] Speaker A: And he takes yours and follows you.
[01:02:11] Speaker D: And she takes his book and she guides him down to the fortress and she walks him in there and she gives him some fresh honey bread. And she takes him to his room and sets him on his bed and sits down next to him.
[01:02:32] Speaker A: Thank you, Ro. This is having walked all the way in and taking and eating the bread.
This is a lot better.
[01:02:44] Speaker D: I know it's hard the first time. You.
[01:02:50] Speaker A: You.
[01:02:54] Speaker D: Have to defend yourself.
[01:03:01] Speaker A: I killed that person.
I mean, he.
He was gonna hurt you all, but I don't want to hurt people.
He's dead.
Cause I cast the spell that makes me not want to be a Spell caster.
I don't like doing that.
Ro, you've had a really hard day, but could all that blood be gone by the time I come back on the ship?
[01:03:45] Speaker D: Of course. Shiba goober.
You're. You're really, really good person speech.
And I, I don't.
[01:04:03] Speaker A: I killed him.
[01:04:05] Speaker D: I know. I.
You were just protecting us and your son.
[01:04:15] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:04:17] Speaker D: And it's true.
[01:04:27] Speaker A: You really can't get the next word out before he just turns and kind of puts his head in your shoulder.
[01:04:34] Speaker D: Just hugs him and sits there for as long as he needs.
[01:04:38] Speaker A: He just cries for a while.
And Ro's gone for quite some time with that.
Eventually Shpagoober just kind of falls asleep.
[01:05:00] Speaker D: I.
I like light the candle in his room that like kind of turns the lights off and all.
And I cover him with a blanket and I go up to the deck to start cleaning some more.
[01:05:16] Speaker A: Bill Free and plough help, you know, buckets and ocean water does a lot of good work too. And an old fashioned mop goes a long way.
[01:05:22] Speaker D: Yeah.
[01:05:23] Speaker A: And that paired with the presidigitation helps quite a bit. There's a lot of blood at.
[01:05:29] Speaker D: At one point. Because I know how, how physically drained they are compared to roe. Because they did a lot more work in that fight. I. I tell them eventually I say, guys, you can, you can go down to the fortress. I can, I can finish up here. You guys did the heavy lift.
[01:05:48] Speaker A: Appreciate that. Short stack. Yeah. And Bill Free just goes back to mopping. And Plav goes, thank you. We will.
[01:05:55] Speaker D: And just you can ask the staff in there for any kind of food or drink you want and they'll. They'll get it for you.
[01:06:04] Speaker A: Yeah, I like it in there.
[01:06:07] Speaker E: Okay, I think I'm heading out, you guys.
[01:06:10] Speaker A: Good night.
[01:06:12] Speaker D: Love you, Michael.
[01:06:13] Speaker A: Remember.
[01:06:13] Speaker B: Bye, Michael.
[01:06:15] Speaker C: Bye, Michael.
Bye, Michael.
[01:06:19] Speaker D: Love you.
[01:06:28] Speaker A: So what do any of the party members do next?
[01:06:31] Speaker C: I'm helping Roland.
I don't have rest of agitation, but I'm like helping build Free and pop.
[01:06:39] Speaker A: Yeah. After. After a couple hours of work, it's resolved.
The ship is eventually cleaned. Still in rough shape, but you know, a couple weeks of mending, it'll look like new.
[01:06:58] Speaker C: Go dig around in Boz's stuff to find the heart.
[01:07:03] Speaker B: Oh, I bring it out. I bring it out.
[01:07:07] Speaker C: You, you look for Greta and people like, I just went downstairs and you find her digging around in your stuff.
[01:07:14] Speaker B: I don't think it's. I don't think I necessarily have stuff. I think it's just in a barrel somewhere. I see. I See Greta digging in on the wrong side of the room, and I just quietly go to the right barrel and I reach in and pull out a beating heart in a jar. I kind of brush off some of the dust crusty salt vibes.
[01:07:38] Speaker A: Whoever this belongs to has a really good resting heart rate.
[01:07:40] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:07:45] Speaker D: Go ahead.
I. I was just gonna say, does someone yell to Nam that the fortress is open if she's. And to see if she's okay. I got the thing.
[01:07:54] Speaker A: You guys go looking in the tree and you realize that it's empty. Once the fortress is opened, she went in.
[01:08:00] Speaker D: Okay, okay.
[01:08:01] Speaker A: While you all were gone, she slipped out of the tree and into the fortress.
[01:08:04] Speaker D: Nice.
Okay. Sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt y' all. I was just like. Wait, is Nam okay?
[01:08:14] Speaker C: I sit down with the heart in the middle of the little.
In the middle of the ship.
[01:08:24] Speaker A: At your size, when you sit down, it's like not much shorter than you are the whole container. The heart is not. The heart is hard heart sized, but the whole container all together when you sit down with it. Once you're sitting down, there's not a lot of you and the container is only slightly below eye level when you sit down with it. The farts, the hearts just the. The heart is floating in the middle. Just the fart's in a different jar.
That's. That's a different magic item.
Fart in a jar. Oh, my goodness. I want to make that a magic item anyway.
[01:09:19] Speaker C: Well, I cast legend.
[01:09:23] Speaker A: Okay, what does that look like, Reba? Or is it a little too late at night to ask that question? Because I respect that.
Okay, you do?
No, no.
[01:09:39] Speaker C: I sit cross legged looking at it and I sit there studying it and I'm like going like moving around at all these different angles, trying to get a good look.
And she starts tracing with her finger on the. On the glass like the writing for legend.
I start tracing on the glass like the letters, like the words of the spell, the legendmore.
And I just.
It just goes all over the glass and I just do that repetitively until my eyes glaze over and the magic happens.
[01:10:19] Speaker A: The divine glyphs trace their pattern over the glass until the glass heats and a very harsh, angular pentagonal tessellation of other sigils across the glass and shatter yours.
You're gonna have to try again.
And you can try. I'm not going to count this as a separate spell casting. You may contain this in the first one. Also, you're. You're keeping track of the component usage, right?
[01:10:57] Speaker C: Oh, goodness, no.
[01:11:00] Speaker A: Yeah. So make sure you're using your incense.
And this time, as you.
[01:11:04] Speaker D: As you try and wait, let me.
[01:11:05] Speaker C: Make sure I have enough.
Thank you. I forgot.
[01:11:14] Speaker B: I will be.
[01:11:20] Speaker C: I'm kidding. You don't instance.
Oh, I'm 25 short, so I can't even cast it.
[01:11:32] Speaker A: So without efficient component, I think you need four, right?
[01:11:36] Speaker C: No, no, no. You need incense worth at least 250 gold piece.
And I have the ivory, but I'm short. I have 225incense. I'm sorry, Landon.
[01:11:47] Speaker A: I'll do it next year.
[01:11:47] Speaker B: I'm gonna go pick up. I'm gonna go pick up some incense. And boss goes to the tree, and he uses tree stride to go to a town that he's not being hunted in to find incense.
[01:11:58] Speaker A: Okay, where do you.
[01:12:00] Speaker B: Okay, I don't know. Any town. Any town.
[01:12:03] Speaker D: Well, you have to know the tree.
[01:12:07] Speaker A: Yeah, let's talk about that. Where do you go?
[01:12:09] Speaker B: Okay, he goes to port respondissant to the tree. They went that time.
[01:12:17] Speaker A: Okay.
All right. Okay. Whole different. Whole different key. Well, Abby, going back to what you were said, you realize you don't have sufficient components. But from your moderate attempt, even at just prying, you get the feeling that this thing is fairly. It's warded against divinations, which is weird.
If you want to try again in the future, you're gonna need to make a check for it to try and overcome the ward on this. But it's not impossible. It can be done, Boz. As you evoke the powerful conjuration magics, split the tree apart with energy. You step through it, and up here in porous Palmisa, have you disguised yourself with your band of unruly illusions?
[01:13:00] Speaker B: Yeah, whatever I need to do to get to the shop.
[01:13:03] Speaker A: Looking like a silly bagabond, a tree splits apart, which is wild because then just some guy walks out of it. And you draw a crowd for a time, but after a little bit, people don't recognize you and you pass through because you've chosen Portus Bonissant. You do know. You do know. Actually, you know that.
Shoot, I wasn't ready for that.
[01:13:24] Speaker B: You don't have to. We don't. I mean, I don't really need to roleplay, like, the shop or anything.
[01:13:30] Speaker A: No, I'm not gonna make you roleplay it. But I am gonna make sure that I actually have a place to receive this. Incense isn't like a thing you pick up at Walmart. It's pretty specific and important, and not everywhere has it.
[01:13:39] Speaker B: I mean, it's like if you Go to like New York City to buy like a Gibson or Taylor guitar. Like, it's probably, yeah, going to be difficult to find a place, but in New York City, you know, a cab driver.
[01:13:55] Speaker A: Well, I guarantee you I could drop somebody off for in New York for a while without them finding what they needed in a timely manner. Doesn't mean it can't be done. Means it's not simple.
But I'm sure it can.
[01:14:06] Speaker B: Chat GPT.
[01:14:09] Speaker D: Don't get me started on that.
[01:14:11] Speaker B: I knew Jackie would get mad. I knew Jackie would get mad. Get mad. I get mad too.
[01:14:15] Speaker C: Jackie, the interns that we have at the bookstore, she's. She'll just casually be like, oh, we could ask ChatGPT. Or like, oh, I asked Chat GPT the other day and I was like, you're a PhD student.
[01:14:26] Speaker B: Oh my gosh.
What gets me mad? There's people that like, I see on Twitter that like, grock, what do you think? How do you think about. And I'm just like, time we are gone. We are.
[01:14:44] Speaker D: Well.
[01:14:46] Speaker A: Oh, finally. Here we go.
Okay, here we go. Here we go. Here we go.
Julie Clay, Big Johns. B. Ros. Knock My Scores. The Blood Bag. Rosie's Potion Parlor. No, I haven't written it down. Okay, well, I have it in a different document.
You go to the. The title is Somebody's stuff. Anybody remember what I'm talking about? It's the guy with Ergbergs. You're the best, Abby. You're the best.
You go to Erdberg stuff months ago where Greta and Row took you, which was a component shop on Magic Lane. It takes you three or four hours to get there, but you remember it well.
And when you get in, you remember the eponymous Erdberg. Who The. The blind Golden Mole and his like, kind of like bathrobe gown, cloak thing in his shop is in the dark and you go in and he remembers you by scent. He sniffs the air and remembers you. And we won't get into the whole thing with all this specific role play, but you request the incense and he has plenty.
How much do you.
[01:16:01] Speaker B: Five gold pieces.
[01:16:03] Speaker A: Okay. You buy 525 gold pieces worth it. It's pretty good. I like you.
And muddling through the darkness and moving crates. You are eventually brought back a number of cloth wrapped bricks of incense. And you pay him the gold. You can deduct that from your amount and 525. And maybe six or seven hours later, Boz returns with a lot of incense. Greta, you now have 525 more incense.
[01:16:35] Speaker C: 25 more pieces. Okay, I'm ready.
[01:16:37] Speaker B: No, but I was using one, so I want to make sure you have enough for the other. Weird question. Like, anytime you find something, not everywhere has incense. I've learned it's quite difficult to find.
[01:16:50] Speaker C: It's a rare material, like looking for a guitar.
[01:16:53] Speaker D: What?
[01:16:53] Speaker B: I was incensed trying to find it.
[01:16:56] Speaker D: Oh.
[01:16:57] Speaker C: So, okay, help me out, guys.
How much did you get? Landed. You got 550, 525.
[01:17:05] Speaker A: 225. That puts you at 750.
[01:17:07] Speaker B: So now you got two more uses.
I don't know about this. The other stuff.
[01:17:13] Speaker A: Yeah, 750. You got 750.
[01:17:14] Speaker B: You got 750 worth of incense, which is a lot.
[01:17:18] Speaker A: 750.
[01:17:19] Speaker B: It's gonna be small.
[01:17:19] Speaker C: Okay.
[01:17:20] Speaker A: I use.
[01:17:20] Speaker C: I use the 250. So I have.
[01:17:25] Speaker B: Can I do the help action to help with the check to do divination?
[01:17:29] Speaker C: Wait, I don't know how much incense I have.
[01:17:32] Speaker A: Yeah, I know. If you use the amount you have now you have 500 left. It's 250 per use. That's two uses.
[01:17:39] Speaker C: Cool.
Okay. I do this bad. I do spell the help action.
[01:17:45] Speaker A: This isn't.
I don't think the help action actually applies at all here.
[01:17:48] Speaker B: Okay, then I give her guidance.
[01:17:49] Speaker A: Because it's not. It's not like I'm helping you look for something or I'm helping you build something, or I'm helping you intimidate. Like, this is Greta casting a spell now. Guidance.
[01:17:58] Speaker B: I'm no cleric.
[01:17:59] Speaker A: Will work. If you want to guide her, you can guide her.
[01:18:02] Speaker B: Can I do enhanced guidance?
[01:18:04] Speaker A: Enhanceability? No.
[01:18:06] Speaker B: Enhanced guidance?
[01:18:08] Speaker A: No. Okay, you can't. Because that's not okay.
[01:18:10] Speaker D: Guidance.
[01:18:12] Speaker A: But you could guide her if you want.
[01:18:13] Speaker B: I give you a D4. It's my little druid inspiration.
[01:18:18] Speaker C: Good, good, good.
[01:18:19] Speaker A: Greta, as you burn your incense and again trace your emanations all over the glass, again, that red barrier, and it. Like, it's a red ethereal pattern of. Of sharp pentagonal harsh geometries that cover it. But it almost sort of spreads across the glass. Like the way that fissures come in glass when it breaks. And it just moves all across it as your green emanations rip around it. Looking a little bit Christmas themed with the red and green.
I want you to give me.
I want you to give me a check with wisdom with your wisdom modifier, with your spell casting ability, and you can add your D4 onto it, but you're trying to overwhelm the spell that exists with the spell you're employing, and they are equal level spell, so one does not automatically cast the.
[01:19:18] Speaker C: Before I do this, can I do an insight check or an arcana check to see if I recognize that red magic if I've come across it before? If it seems to me, yes, a natural 20 for a total of face.
[01:19:38] Speaker A: She made.
[01:19:41] Speaker C: 35.
[01:19:42] Speaker A: 35?
[01:19:45] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:19:49] Speaker A: Okay. I. I'm not sure whether or not that's your new campaign record. It might be, because I think 34 was your old one. One?
[01:19:57] Speaker C: Really?
[01:19:58] Speaker A: That also might be the third highest check I've ever seen rolled on in my dming. That's crazy. Or maybe that's insane. Third or fourth highest check, you gremlin.
That's crazy. That's crazy. That's like Janice High.
In fact, I think that might be higher. Any who.
Greta, you have no Earth earthly idea, but because of your as. As a.
Oh my goodness. What's your title? Within the students of Ioun. Help me out.
[01:20:33] Speaker C: The cloak of the curator.
[01:20:36] Speaker A: No, Curator within.
I think there's two high curators. But as a curator within the order supplied with the knowledge of the knowing mistress, your symbol flares when you look at it. And you are struck suddenly and magically just aware, just magically informed that you don't know this magic at all. And it's not native to this plane. It's native to one of the lower planes.
This is foul and evil magic bound to protect this object. And as you make your wisdom check. Go ahead.
You remember that Kanajay had a great deal of difficulty identifying anything about this item when Boz lent it to her for a time.
[01:21:21] Speaker C: Did I use my inspiration?
[01:21:26] Speaker A: You haven't used your guidance.
[01:21:29] Speaker C: Yeah, I don't know.
[01:21:33] Speaker A: I don't know whether or not you used your inspiration. You know that I trust you with that.
[01:21:36] Speaker C: I did. I used it for an attack.
[01:21:38] Speaker A: Well, thank you for your honor.
[01:21:42] Speaker C: That is gonna be a nine.
[01:21:48] Speaker A: Greta. As you fingers and try and control it, that red match just severs your spell, which kind of shatters. And when it does, it's like the energy flares back at your hands and your skin burns. You take a point of fire damage on your skin and the glass is just still sitting there. Art is.
[01:22:19] Speaker C: Dm. Do I know that?
Yeah. Do I know that? If I tried again, it would be harder.
[01:22:27] Speaker A: You could certainly try.
[01:22:30] Speaker B: Why don't we ask Ro for Bartican inspiration too? And try one more time.
[01:22:33] Speaker C: It's a good idea.
[01:22:35] Speaker A: Ro from up deck.
Inspiration.
[01:22:40] Speaker D: Inspiration.
[01:22:42] Speaker A: Green bottle inspiration, please.
[01:22:46] Speaker D: Yeah. What's up, guys?
[01:22:48] Speaker B: Hey, could. We're wondering if you could twiddle a d. Twiddle a dumb. And give Grieba here bardic inspiration.
I need some so that she can get past a curse on my heart jar to figure out what the. What the heck it is.
[01:23:07] Speaker D: I can date you on best.
[01:23:08] Speaker C: I'm listening.
[01:23:10] Speaker B: What is that? What's that? What's that? Like the video of the animation other people like, like, like the guy.
[01:23:18] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:23:19] Speaker B: Bing. People's heads in the river and the people summoning.
[01:23:21] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[01:23:24] Speaker B: But I know the one.
That's what we're doing.
[01:23:32] Speaker D: I am going to.
Who all is. Is it just boss and Greta? Who's our. Who's right here.
Okay, so I'm going to use you. Okay.
[01:23:54] Speaker B: She's getting in the zone. She's getting in barrels.
[01:24:00] Speaker A: Jackie.
[01:24:02] Speaker B: Okay, wizards.
[01:24:07] Speaker A: Episode two. Energy is here. And it's weird. This time it's curtain.
[01:24:10] Speaker D: I am gonna use energy.
Okay, fine. Do you want this vertical inspiration or not?
[01:24:18] Speaker B: Girl, give us the goods.
[01:24:22] Speaker A: That thing you're feeling right now is how I feel every second.
And they talk over you and make noises, and you can't even give them the thing you asked they asked for.
[01:24:33] Speaker D: I know that I do that to you so much.
[01:24:36] Speaker A: Okay, I have a question.
[01:24:40] Speaker D: Okay.
[01:24:44] Speaker B: Can I deafen Greta right now? Can I just deafen Greta, please?
[01:24:57] Speaker D: I will be forever triggered.
[01:25:02] Speaker B: To be fair, I thought that's what you were doing in the moment. I was like, good idea. Good idea. That's a good. And then I realized. And you just did. I think both of us. Oh, wait, that's what it does. Oh, so.
[01:25:12] Speaker D: No, but he had, like, already rolled the wisdom save, and I was like, I can't go back.
[01:25:18] Speaker B: Hey, once the dice, you can't think twice. So.
[01:25:22] Speaker D: Okay, so Rose says, listen, I can tell you one better. I don't know what you guys are doing down here with that thing, but you need some inspiration, and I think I can help. And so she uses epic ballad oh.
[01:25:43] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:25:44] Speaker D: To produce an artistic floric.
[01:25:45] Speaker A: Is this your first time using that?
[01:25:46] Speaker D: Yeah. To produce an artistic flourish which hearkens to an experience or truth which has moved your allies in the past. In doing so, you simultaneously provide all of your remaining bardic inspirations to any allied creature, sharing one inspiration per creature until all of your inspirations are expended. In this way, your allies may have multiple bardic inspirations. It once it's expending each at a time until they're all expended or the duration ceases. So, Greta, you get two baric inspirations, and Boss, you get Two Bic inspirations.
[01:26:23] Speaker B: Okay, okay, okay.
[01:26:25] Speaker A: Now, to be clear, this doesn't mean that Greta gets to add on four. Four. Whatever it wants. You extend them once at a time, but you've got them all.
[01:26:32] Speaker D: Yeah, yeah, but now she has two. Two to. To now use.
She can use one and then use another one.
[01:26:40] Speaker B: So that's on the back. And I say, you got this? And I give her an extra D4.
[01:26:47] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:26:47] Speaker B: Maximum.
[01:26:48] Speaker A: What is it?
You don't have to spend forever on it, but what is the thing you do that hearkens this incredible power and inspiration for your ally?
[01:26:59] Speaker D: I can't talk. She sits down and she takes. She takes Soul Mender off of her back and plays that. And.
And she plays.
It's supposed to be inspiring. I know you told me not to take long on it, but now I'm going to.
[01:27:17] Speaker B: What if she plays man in the Mirror by Michael Jackson?
[01:27:20] Speaker D: No, this is inspiring. No, she plays. She plays.
[01:27:26] Speaker B: You raise me up.
[01:27:28] Speaker D: No, she plays.
[01:27:29] Speaker B: What?
[01:27:29] Speaker A: It hurts.
[01:27:31] Speaker B: Okay, sorry. My bad.
[01:27:33] Speaker A: This is the most tuned in Landon's been all sessions.
[01:27:36] Speaker B: I waited two years for this moment. I want it to happen.
[01:27:40] Speaker D: Okay. She plays.
[01:27:42] Speaker B: I sold my soul for this.
My.
[01:27:47] Speaker D: She plays the. The music. She doesn't sing it, but she plays the music part of. Of the Dolgoth song.
The part. The part two.
The part two one where she talks about defeating them, defeating him. And so it, like, evokes this memory in y' all of this pain and then this joy of defeating Dolgoth.
And as she plays that. And she plays it to the exact tempo of the beating heart sitting there.
And the gold and the purple and the green wrap around the heart and then wrap around both of you, and you feel this, like, pain, but then you also feel, like, doubly bartically inspired, stronger.
And it's all happening and occurring at the same beat as the heartbeat, and it just. It's like echoing throughout the. The. The lower deck there that we're at.
[01:28:50] Speaker B: I. I'm trying to think of something cool boss can do, but I. I don't think I have anything. I mean, I could conjure a bunch of frogs.
[01:28:57] Speaker C: That'd be cool. That would inspire better, for real.
[01:28:59] Speaker A: Landon, I just want to say something real quick for the record. When we go back to that combat, that is the way to use. Conjure animals, Please, I beg of you. I'm gonna summon a couple big things. Thank you.
The players who go now. I'm gonna summon 12 small things. Things. Please don't do that to your DMs. It's the worst.
[01:29:18] Speaker D: That sounds awful.
[01:29:19] Speaker A: Everything gets so complicated.
[01:29:22] Speaker B: We just function as a horde, right? Like horde comp. Like have them do. Like just combine all their damage.
[01:29:27] Speaker A: But that's not how it works, though. You gotta roll for every single one.
[01:29:31] Speaker D: I have a quick question. Could you summon animals and have them just rain down on someone?
[01:29:36] Speaker B: Yes.
[01:29:37] Speaker D: No.
[01:29:37] Speaker B: No.
I could conjure them wherever I want.
[01:29:41] Speaker D: Point.
[01:29:42] Speaker A: Anyway, people.
Somebody. Somebody bumps boss in the street and he turns around and goes, I'll drop a plesiosaur on you like a what?
[01:29:59] Speaker B: I whisper that to the heart as. That's the thing.
[01:30:02] Speaker A: I do.
Greta, you can make your check now. Okay? You can add a D10.
[01:30:14] Speaker D: I use. You were speaking and there was nothing coming out, Abby.
[01:30:19] Speaker A: Yeah, but I don't think there was in real life too.
[01:30:21] Speaker B: She was sending a prayer up to Pat Pelor.
Ariba dares not it. Guys, we got one more shot. I bought three.
[01:30:34] Speaker C: B13.
I rolled a six.
[01:30:37] Speaker D: I did a 13. Wait, I have my. It's no longer Friday the 13th.
[01:30:41] Speaker C: It's a 18.
[01:30:45] Speaker B: That doesn't feel.
[01:30:46] Speaker A: Again. The Red Ward shatters your.
Your inquiry of what is below.
[01:30:53] Speaker B: All right, guys, try one more time. Let's dig deep. Let's dig deep.
[01:30:56] Speaker D: One more.
[01:30:57] Speaker B: Let's hope. Let's hold hands. Let's hold hands. All of us. Let's circle around.
Hands.
[01:31:01] Speaker C: I will not be doing this.
[01:31:03] Speaker D: I'm not gonna do that.
[01:31:04] Speaker B: Nam would do it.
All right. Me and Ro are holding hands.
Three people. Buddies and.
[01:31:18] Speaker A: Okay, Landon. Come on, Landon.
Abby, join. No.
This is what the 80s was afraid of.
[01:31:32] Speaker B: I look at. No, here's how I. Okay, Zach, here's how. Okay. I'm going to make a case of how I'm helping Greta. I look at Greta and I say, Greta.
[01:31:43] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:31:44] Speaker B: And then I paused for a moment.
You are a cleric of Ioun. Okay?
It is your right, your God given right to know things.
[01:32:01] Speaker C: I'm helping for knowledge.
[01:32:02] Speaker B: And another God is trying to say, nah, I don't think that's right.
You got this.
[01:32:11] Speaker A: You got this.
[01:32:12] Speaker B: Use channel divinity. Use channel divinity right now, too. While you do it.
Use channel divinity. Use channel divinity. And try this one more time.
[01:32:22] Speaker E: I'm not gonna use channel divinity.
[01:32:24] Speaker A: Box.
[01:32:24] Speaker B: No, try it because it's a long rest.
[01:32:26] Speaker A: Right? Right.
[01:32:26] Speaker B: Like if it succeeds, you have to wait a week.
[01:32:28] Speaker A: Greta, could you make an arcana check for me? Actually, could you make me an intelligence check? DC5.
[01:32:33] Speaker B: DC5 calling IUN to help you crack a puzzle has gotta help somewhere. That's all. I'm saying.
[01:32:43] Speaker A: What'd you get, Greta?
[01:32:44] Speaker C: Eight.
[01:32:46] Speaker A: Okay.
You can do whatever you want because only you are in control of your will. But if you use channel divinity and it doesn't work, you just get. You just. You can just try again the next day. It doesn't. It. It doesn't. It doesn't go away. I mean, it's once prolonged rest. But if you try right now and it doesn't work, you have channel divinity again tomorrow. So. So it's not.
[01:33:08] Speaker B: Greta, Greta, please. I have never begged for anything, but I'm desperate.
V starts trying to make himself cry, but it's not.
[01:33:18] Speaker C: If you don't stop doing that.
[01:33:20] Speaker A: Okay, okay.
Face.
[01:33:22] Speaker D: He's like.
[01:33:24] Speaker B: He's like.
[01:33:28] Speaker A: Can.
[01:33:29] Speaker B: I should make a performance check.
[01:33:30] Speaker A: I don't know. What am I doing?
[01:33:32] Speaker B: I'm just kidding, Greta. If you don't want to do it, I'm not going to pressure. I'm just trying to be funny.
But I'd love to see it work, though. That'd be hilarious once. I just rolled, so.
[01:33:43] Speaker A: Okay. Sorry.
[01:33:44] Speaker D: Why you. What?
[01:33:45] Speaker B: I just rolled, so maybe that's.
[01:33:49] Speaker C: I'm going to try my incense one more time and if it doesn't work, I'll do the channel divinity in the next.
[01:33:56] Speaker B: We only have one more.
We only have one more group of instance left. We'll have to go buy more if we do. If we don't do it this time.
[01:34:05] Speaker C: Well, but I. I don't. I think channel divinity will just.
I'll just channel divinity for more insight.
[01:34:14] Speaker B: I love that thought.
[01:34:15] Speaker D: What?
[01:34:16] Speaker B: That is great.
God, can I have $250? Can I.
[01:34:21] Speaker D: God, I called you cuz.
[01:34:23] Speaker B: I need $250.
[01:34:30] Speaker A: Yo. God, give me 250 bucks, dude.
[01:34:32] Speaker B: I got some banana bread at work today, dude. Heck yeah.
[01:34:38] Speaker A: God, can I have a burger?
[01:34:42] Speaker B: I'm sorry, guys. I know we're all tired. We'll just.
[01:34:45] Speaker D: It's.
[01:34:45] Speaker B: This is all just.
[01:34:46] Speaker A: It's pretty funny.
[01:34:49] Speaker C: I can't even find it.
[01:34:52] Speaker A: What are you trying to do? We'll help you.
[01:34:53] Speaker C: I don't.
[01:34:56] Speaker D: Yeah, help me help you.
[01:35:04] Speaker A: What do you. What you. What you doing, buddy?
[01:35:06] Speaker C: I'm going to. I'm just going to try it one more time.
I wouldn't use channels.
[01:35:14] Speaker D: So sorry. I burned.
[01:35:15] Speaker C: Are you going to kill me at my house, Landon?
[01:35:20] Speaker A: What?
[01:35:22] Speaker D: He's not.
[01:35:23] Speaker C: He's gonna kill me in my house.
[01:35:25] Speaker A: So what do you. What do you.
[01:35:26] Speaker C: I'm gonna.
I try one more time to do the incense.
[01:35:33] Speaker D: You got another detach legend lore?
[01:35:37] Speaker A: Okay, make your arcana Check. Or your. Your wisdom. Check.
And you're guided, and you have your inspiration. D10. D4.
[01:35:52] Speaker C: I don't have inspiration. I have bardic inspiration.
[01:35:55] Speaker A: Yep, that's it. Yep.
[01:35:59] Speaker C: 13 again, Abby.
[01:36:03] Speaker A: I have had it for more than 30 episodes. I give you my DM inspiration to roll again. Oh, do it. Oh, well, I'm giving it to you so much. To me.
[01:36:19] Speaker B: I'm gonna cry.
[01:36:20] Speaker A: I love playing D and D with my friends.
[01:36:22] Speaker D: She's gonna get 13 again.
[01:36:25] Speaker B: It's okay. It's okay. Hey, the heart is a bit. Now.
[01:36:32] Speaker A: One. And that's. That's our Friday the 13th session right there.
And you know what? I don't even regret doing that, because that feels right. That's how we end the Friday 13th session right there, Greta. As you try and try and try one more time, you reach your web of your divining web around, and that red ward just flares. And as it does the last time, Greta, your hands burn, and you just get this pain in your mind that flashes, and you blink away, and you just feel loathing.
You just feel that something truly hates you. As you try to look into whatever this is.
[01:37:14] Speaker B: What if it's the heart of the hate king?
[01:37:15] Speaker A: And it doesn't feel like Storkworm? Because some things are. Some things aren't about him, but you feel spite and loathing and hate, and.
[01:37:25] Speaker C: You see, like, a king of it.
[01:37:27] Speaker B: Yeah. It's Zor's heart.
[01:37:29] Speaker C: Something about Zoram's heart it's totally not.
[01:37:34] Speaker B: If we kill this heart, we'll beat the whole game.
[01:37:38] Speaker C: I'll figure it out.
[01:37:38] Speaker D: Is that beating? I have a question.
[01:37:40] Speaker A: Anyone do anything else on the 20th or.
[01:37:42] Speaker D: Question?
[01:37:43] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah.
[01:37:44] Speaker A: What's up?
[01:37:44] Speaker D: Is a beating heart considered a creature?
[01:37:50] Speaker A: No.
[01:37:50] Speaker D: Oh, okay.
But is it a living creature?
No.
[01:38:00] Speaker B: Is it a container?
[01:38:05] Speaker A: No, it's not a creature. I mean, it's a part of a creature, but.
[01:38:07] Speaker D: Okay. But it's not a creature. Okay.
[01:38:12] Speaker A: All right.
[01:38:15] Speaker D: I. Yeah. To. To. I. I go. I go into. Definitely I go into.
You asked if we did anything else.
[01:38:23] Speaker A: I'm sorry. The. The. I. Yeah. Really got me, and I wasn't ready for it.
[01:38:27] Speaker B: I. Yeah.
[01:38:28] Speaker D: I'm so sorry. Yeah.
I.
I say. Wait, who's at the helm?
[01:38:38] Speaker A: Oh, my goodness. It's. It doesn't. Someone. What do you. What do you do? What is. Do you do something?
[01:38:47] Speaker D: Tell them to go get some good food in the fortress.
[01:38:51] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:38:51] Speaker D: And then I go up to the helm and tell Talo to go as well, and I'll take the Wheel.
[01:39:00] Speaker A: Okay.
And everyone. Everyone enjoys the mansion and. I'm sorry, Jackie, I was too happy. Just.
[01:39:07] Speaker D: No, it's okay.
[01:39:08] Speaker A: But everything rotates and everyone enjoys the mansion and it does feel like a respite.
And eventually the 20th ends.
[01:39:22] Speaker D: Could.
[01:39:25] Speaker A: As a final thing in the session, nothing.
Also, does anyone identify the bracelet?
[01:39:35] Speaker C: I can identify the first.
[01:39:38] Speaker B: Cool.
[01:39:38] Speaker A: Good. It's an aberrant nullifier.
A metal bracelet made from a smooth, elegant bronze, gilded with complex nullifying glyph series.
You all see that when you bring it near the farseed, it glows brighter. And when it gets within 5ft away, it makes it inert or within 10ft and it just turns it off until it goes back. And now you know that, and now you have that info anyhow. So you are in possession of an aberrant nullifier. Whoever wants to put that in their inventory. But Greta, everyone goes to sleep. As a final thing for our session, will there remaining three players roll me a D20?
[01:40:14] Speaker C: No.
[01:40:16] Speaker A: You remember at the very beginning when you were like, can this session be dark? And I was like, I got your back.
[01:40:21] Speaker B: But bro, do I had a modifier?
[01:40:24] Speaker A: Nope.
[01:40:25] Speaker B: 15.
[01:40:27] Speaker C: I got an 11.
[01:40:29] Speaker A: Okay. Jackie E.
Nat 20.
[01:40:33] Speaker D: I'm so sorry I said it like that.
[01:40:36] Speaker A: That was excellent.
[01:40:38] Speaker D: Depressing how I said it.
[01:40:40] Speaker A: Later that evening, Greta.
[01:40:45] Speaker C: Yes?
[01:40:48] Speaker A: Your sleep.
It's very natural to have an upsetting evening after a day where you're almost killed.
Even when you're the sort of person who's used to very intense experiences.
Today was an upsetting day. The cult came for you once again, tried to kill you.
But your dreams take. Your thoughts are on the cult of the Dogma Dawn. As you fall asleep, it's natural that they're what's on your mind.
Think about the waters where they can came from.
You think about those dark depths, about the question you posed. Are there more of you there looking for us? And your mind is just. You can't help but have it pulled back to the city you saw beneath. Deep, deep, deep, deep beneath Alaban, where they have that capital.
You think back to that depths, and at some point, the wave of the ocean rocks you to sleep. As you think about the ocean, at some point, the thought becomes a dream, but not one you're aware of. You're just still thinking. And as you think about those depths, you're in them.
You think about that city, that red glowing city in the dark.
And you think about that shape that moved beyond it.
When you go back in your memory to recall that shape and you go back to think of what it was like to witness something so vast and so terrible in the distance.
And you try to recall it in your memory. And you look for it. It's not there.
The shape is gone.
And when you look away from the shape, you look into, into the starry night sky.
You're where you are there on the deck of the poor boat at the port bed. It's night. You're on watch, looking out at the ocean.
And there's movement in the water.
The waves churn and twist until everything beneath you, the ship just.
And all of a sudden, you fall to your feet as the entire front of the boat lifts up and lifts and then the back. And the ship just lifts out of the water as spearing up, rising from the water like mountains.
This huge split claw wraps around the edge of the boat, breaks through the sides, smashing it inward, and picks the ship up.
You begin twisting in it as the arm lifts and seawater falls. And the arm just lifts and lifts, lifts and lifts and lifts until it's like a tower protruding from the ocean. And you are in the sky. And as you race to the edge and look over, you see all of the world is.
You're high enough, you can see the edges of the world. You can see the continents not too far away. And you watch as chains slither their way out of the ocean and begin barreling their way, digging through the lands. You watch them carve through Yazlan and wrap around Narskana. You watch them carve across Hashas and wrap around Zedge. And you watch as chains from the ocean wrap around the land and begin to pull it down, snapping the continents apart, sinking them into the water.
And you watch as the ocean starts to boil with heat.
Thunder snaps in the distance.
And you feel, as you look down to the water, a gaze look back at you from those black depths suddenly much blacker, much deeper than all the sky above.
And you simply hear a voice say, I see you.
[01:45:26] Speaker C: He's for real.
[01:45:28] Speaker A: And the sides of the claws snap together and destroy you. Could you give me a charisma? Saving throw.
[01:45:50] Speaker C: The 13.
[01:45:53] Speaker A: Okay, you take, oh, 15 points of psychic damage.
And I would like you to make a note on your sheet that your hit point maximum is reduced by 15 points of psychic damage. For the next session.
[01:46:18] Speaker C: For the next session or forever.
[01:46:21] Speaker A: Please put that down. The next at Abby, Greta's HP max minus 15 session.
And Greta, from where you are sleeping, you sort.
[01:46:49] Speaker C: Is this for the next session or.
[01:46:50] Speaker A: Is this forever, Greta, where you're sleeping in your bunk? You wake up with a start, sweat on your forehead, and you just feel for just a second. When you woke up, you felt like something was weighing you down in your bunk. Like there were chains around you, but you pull them off as you sit up. You look around.
Everything's fine. The boat's intact, everyone's sleeping. Or, excuse me, I guess you're alone in your room in the mansion.
[01:47:17] Speaker D: I was going to say, as you.
[01:47:18] Speaker A: Sit up in your comfortable lush bed with the sounds of forest replacing, there's a little sweat on your brow and you just breathe heavily. Not the first harrowing dream from a cosmic being you've had, but you are aware somehow, even in another realm, you feel like you can feel the sway of the ocean.
And you know that there's one more creature that hates you.
And that's where we'll end. Episode 145.
So that's. That was fun.
That's our session, players.
You figured out what the cult was up to. 0.02 levels for the session. 0.01 for figuring out what the cult was up to. 0.02 for having all your crew survive the attack.
0.01 because you made a plan for what to do with the Farseed.
And I'll say, well, the Farsi plans go back to the other one. Yeah. So that is a total of 0.06 levels.
Nice.
Okay, so what level is it right now?
[01:48:35] Speaker D: 13.66.
[01:48:42] Speaker A: Oh, really close. You know, one away.
Anywho, very Friday the 13th.
Excellent. Very fun session.
Way to win. Question mark.
Zach, any final thoughts for the listeners?
[01:48:59] Speaker B: Yeah, I have one last request.
[01:49:02] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:49:02] Speaker B: Can I do an odds or evens roll to get point zeros? Zero. One more XP to truly make this a Friday the 13th level experience?
[01:49:15] Speaker A: Sure, buddy, if you want to do that after everything else that happened this evening. Odds or evens?
[01:49:19] Speaker B: I was just. It's just a bit. I was just joking. It'd just be funny to have 13 as the first number and then. Okay, odds. I'm an odd guy.
[01:49:27] Speaker A: 2.
[01:49:28] Speaker B: Dang it sometimes doesn't go in our listeners.
[01:49:33] Speaker A: Happy Friday the 13th.
That was.
Oh, my goodness, guys.
I crap your pants. Not. I'm so glad we had not stopped recording. Do you know how many ones we got that session?
[01:49:47] Speaker B: How many?
[01:49:48] Speaker D: Thirteen.
[01:49:49] Speaker A: Well, we had 12, and then Abby rolled one at the end.
We got 13. That one.
[01:49:57] Speaker D: Wow.
[01:50:01] Speaker C: Three within the last.
[01:50:02] Speaker A: It's October and it's October and June. That's crazy. It's Halloween.
[01:50:08] Speaker C: I rolled three in the last. Just when I was trying to.
[01:50:16] Speaker A: Well, we won't make the Listener listen to us. Just talk about our stats forever. Life is an incredible adventure, and, Listener, you're an important part of it. Don't let the scary cultists scare you away from what matters.
[01:50:30] Speaker C: The Mormons, anywho.
[01:50:33] Speaker A: Skibidi, Wapin, Dada.
