[00:00:02] Speaker A: Welcome back to Barely dnd, everybody. It's me.
[00:00:05] Speaker B: No, get closer to your mic, Abby. No, this is.
[00:00:07] Speaker A: My mic is on my body. My mouth is just full of ice cream and it's cold, so I'm talking weird. Welcome back, everybody.
[00:00:14] Speaker B: Very slurred.
[00:00:15] Speaker A: It's me, your ice cream loving host. My talk is funny because ice cream makes my mouth cold, and then the roof of my mouth doesn't work and the tongue of my mouth doesn't work. But I'm here. I'm your Greta, and I'm ready to rock and I'm ready to roll.
Here is.
Here is my intro question.
I asked this to my most beloved book club. Text me if you want to join. It's the best book club.
[00:00:41] Speaker C: I'm in the book club.
[00:00:44] Speaker A: Yes, yes, and yes. Yes. And we asked this question, what would be. What is your character's favorite nighttime ritual?
So I'm not talking like, they don't have to have a routine. They don't have to have, like, a thing that they do every time, but what's, like, the best thing about their evenings? Is it, like, is it saying goodnight to their pet dragon? Is it like, playing some songs? Cleaning their loot? What is it?
[00:01:17] Speaker B: This is a really freaking good question.
Okay, dope.
[00:01:20] Speaker A: I'll go first.
[00:01:23] Speaker B: Okay. Get him. Get him. Green guard.
[00:01:25] Speaker A: I think the evenings are probably the time where she gets the most language practice, whether that be with Tello or with Ro or just reading her books by herself. I think that that's like the time that she. She does that. And I think that she likes that specifically because it's like an excuse to talk to her friends. So, like, her and Ro are still pretty new at Celestial, so they're still, like, kind of learning that together.
But her, like, she's like, like, pretty proficient in.
In uncinian, but she still makes telepractice with her just as an excuse to chat.
[00:02:03] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:02:03] Speaker A: You know, and if she's maybe low energy, she, like. She, like her study is like an excuse to just kind of like, be by herself and relax. So I think her language practices her most favorite part of the evenings.
[00:02:17] Speaker B: That's. That's sick.
Love it.
Let's go. That was a really good answer, Abby, and a great question.
I'm encouraged that 165 episodes in we still have good questions in the bank.
Let's go with Raw. What is a nighttime routine for Raw? Also, who's the DMN PC?
[00:02:40] Speaker A: Oh, yeah.
Can we.
[00:02:47] Speaker C: I don't know. Nighttime routine.
[00:02:52] Speaker B: You can pick anybody.
[00:02:53] Speaker C: Shista.
[00:02:57] Speaker A: No, I want someone. What about. Can we do connage?
Yes.
[00:03:03] Speaker B: I love that. Yes. Kanajay it is. All right, Ro, what's your nighttime routine?
[00:03:07] Speaker C: Dang.
I think a lot of it has become doing language with Greta, because that's become a thing. But I think it's still her, like, self reflection and, like, where she kind of, like, meditates and is in prayer and just like, especially now, she's probably gotten to where she, like, it's just like she just kind of fiddles around and it's like very eerie and old songy vibes, and she just. That's how she meditates. And like, y' all might hear, like, from the other room or whatever, like, if y' all are in the mansion or something like that of just, like.
[00:03:47] Speaker A: From the corner of the cave or.
[00:03:49] Speaker C: From the corner of the cave down under the house or just, like, singing, like.
[00:03:58] Speaker B: That's really cool.
[00:03:59] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:04:00] Speaker B: Love that idea.
[00:04:01] Speaker C: I would like to say her new routine might be polymorphing as a bat and hanging in the cave down below their house.
[00:04:08] Speaker B: I love that, too.
Clears my head. I like it a lot.
[00:04:14] Speaker A: I want to say this with love. That is really weird in, like, the best way.
That's like your friend who, like, that's like your friend who, like, every night walks around the circle barefoot. They're just like, it, you know, it just like, calms me. It soothes me, you know?
[00:04:33] Speaker B: Takes a lot for Abby to call something weird. I think that's actually thinking the four years I've known her, I think that's the first time I've ever heard her call something weird, actually.
And I love it.
Blahs.
[00:04:45] Speaker D: Pause. Doesn't really have a lot of hobbies. I don't believe.
I don't think he has really anything that he does in his free time.
[00:04:53] Speaker A: Doesn't have to be a hobby.
[00:04:54] Speaker B: I generally don't think.
[00:04:56] Speaker A: Is it falling asleep? Is it fluffing your pillow? Drinking a.
[00:05:00] Speaker B: What do you do? And they go, nothing. And I go, what do you stare at a blank wall? And they go, I don't know.
[00:05:05] Speaker D: Yeah, I think you probably. This thing is going to sleep.
[00:05:10] Speaker B: Favorite nighttime routine is going to sleep. Fair enough.
Can't defer. All right.
K.
You know, she loves what she does. I mean, her work is her passion, and I think she connects very deeply with it. But I don't think at a certain point in the day, I think she very much disconnects with it. I think she's a. I think she has lived long enough and arrived at a. At A place in her life, though she still has complexity and problems, as any person does. And she's arrived at her place in her life where she has many different interests and personal pursuits.
So I would say that even after, you know, even as much as researching and enchanting and studying and all those things is a passion of hers and she loves what she does. I think she has a number of other hobbies, but I think a nighttime routine for her would even be even more separated and personal. So I would say Kanajay's nighttime routine is probably. I'd say she probably has like.
Like a single glass of a mild but very well crafted wine each night to wind down probably a red.
And, you know, I think she loves to read historical texts. And so I think the last thing she does every night before falling asleep is just reading something historical. Now I think for her it works if it's historical fiction or if it works if it's just history text. But I think she loves reading about the world she's come from. And I think, I mean, not every night, but I think often it quietly comes to imagining what the experience of her father Teloge was like in that older world and in the context of the things that came before, because that's so much what subconsciously fuels her fascination with the things that were and the things and magic and all of that. So I think, I think that's. That's very common. I don't think it's a constant, but I think it's a common ritual for her at night.
[00:07:10] Speaker A: Can I just, like, can I say something about my experience that might also be her experience?
[00:07:15] Speaker D: Sure.
[00:07:16] Speaker A: I love reading until I, like, fall asleep. Like until I can't keep my eyes peeled open at night time. And it's like an extra special little treat when, like, something that I was reading about comes into my dreams. So I like to think that she reads until she's just so, like. Like her words are reading this. Her eyes are reading the same sentence over and over.
And then it's like. It's like every once in a while she'll have a dream about the book and like, maybe her dad will be there. And it's just like, like a little treat.
[00:07:47] Speaker B: That's why I fall asleep every night reading Garfield.
All right, this is episode 165 of the Accidental Adventures.
It's a level 14 adventure, but we're getting really close to leveling up. The date is 3488pb. It is still CPC 8th still not tem.
And this is episode 165 Grim Treasures ep.
3488 pp no.
Oh, this is.
[00:08:22] Speaker C: Or is it called Ding dong? The miscore's dead.
[00:08:27] Speaker B: That's so Jackie messaged me that one too.
That needs to be that.
What was the one for the first one.
[00:08:39] Speaker C: Settling the me score.
Me score. Puns all day.
[00:08:47] Speaker A: We are so silly. We are just so silly.
We are so, so silly.
[00:08:53] Speaker C: So silly.
[00:08:54] Speaker A: You guys are so silly.
[00:08:58] Speaker B: The m. Cor is dead. That's honestly really good, Jackie.
[00:09:03] Speaker C: Thank you.
[00:09:06] Speaker B: That's great.
Yeah, you're taking work off of me on the back end. I like it.
[00:09:11] Speaker C: Sorry.
[00:09:11] Speaker B: Okay. So fun, guys.
Real near death for half of you. As always. I don't know why. Boss is mostly impressed. Impervious to damage in fights. Has to be something with the way you guys. I strategize. I don't know. Boz always comes out of every fight pretty good.
He didn't get too hurt in the count fight. Didn't get too hurt in this one. He's pretty good. But half the rest of the party is halfway to death's door.
And with everyone exhausted and bloody and this shop is a wreck. The items are half emptied. It's difficult to walk some places in the shop because of the stacked up function. Fallen items. There are broken things all around the shop. There's fire and blood spatter everywhere. The place is filled with smoke. And most importantly right now, it is pitch black.
[00:09:56] Speaker D: Not sure.
[00:09:57] Speaker B: Already dim. Shop is completely dark. All the candles have gone out.
[00:10:02] Speaker D: My orb is still going. It's 30ft of bright light and like.
[00:10:05] Speaker B: 60Ft of dim light.
Okay.
[00:10:09] Speaker D: Not gonna be there for long.
[00:10:11] Speaker C: Wait, what are y' all talking about?
[00:10:13] Speaker D: No, no, I'm talking about fury of the first flame. Still has two rounds of combat left.
[00:10:17] Speaker B: Oh, okay.
[00:10:18] Speaker D: It's Almost gone.
[00:10:19] Speaker B: Next 12 seconds. There is 30ft of light and 30ft of bright light. So you guys are just staring at this? Claustrophobic. Also at the top, some of the shelves have fallen all the way over to the other side and like dumped their contents. This place is a wreck. So dark. And you are surrounded by tragedies and stories and treasures and mess.
[00:10:43] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:10:43] Speaker B: And miscore's dead layered body is crumpled up I. Right in front of the door.
[00:10:48] Speaker C: Actually, I can't do the press.
Oh, yeah. It's my stone.
[00:10:57] Speaker A: Yeah, you should use this.
[00:10:59] Speaker C: I cast prestidigitation and light. The. Are the candelabbers like torches that I.
[00:11:05] Speaker B: Can light the candle? The. The. The chandeliers have fallen down. Oh, they've fallen Candles? Yeah, they fell to the floor. They were being suspended by magic when Miscore died. They just crashed to the floor. And they have broken. And the candles have all fallen down and are scattered and broken and.
[00:11:21] Speaker C: Okay, is there, like, a table?
[00:11:24] Speaker B: No, no, the shop is just high.
[00:11:27] Speaker C: There's not even a table standing. Okay. I gather some of the candles, right?
[00:11:32] Speaker A: I cast.
I cast light on a stick and prop the stick up in the air.
[00:11:38] Speaker B: Okay.
You find some staff, prop it up, and cast it. And now the space has this ambient, whitish, greenish light everywhere.
[00:11:48] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:11:50] Speaker B: Anybody looking for anything? What are you guys doing in the space?
[00:11:53] Speaker A: I, I, I, I, like.
I, like, take a couple deep breaths.
[00:12:01] Speaker B: Yeah. Everyone takes a minute or 12 just breathing and, like, drinking some water and sitting down. You guys expend some of the last spells to do some healing.
[00:12:12] Speaker A: So once we're kind of more settled, I look and I ask and I.
So I was gonna do some research, if that's okay with y', all and you kind of get the.
I don't know if we know the name of the spell, but.
[00:12:32] Speaker B: I mean.
[00:12:32] Speaker C: Wait, did you unbat? I guess.
[00:12:35] Speaker A: Okay.
Yeah, I guess I unbecome a bat.
[00:12:39] Speaker B: Let's not be stuck on that.
[00:12:41] Speaker C: Okay. I'm sorry.
[00:12:45] Speaker A: So I would like to cast Legend Lore.
Let me make sure I have enough incense. I think I do. But.
[00:13:09] Speaker C: While she's doing that, I'm casting.
I'm casting a mix of legend.
Legend, legend, main, and mending.
[00:13:19] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:13:19] Speaker C: Yeah. And mending just to, like, move anything.
I'm just, like, kind of moving things with magic because Ro doesn't want to touch anything because it's all mi squares. And she's using those two things to kind of mend or just kind of move things back, like little shelves or anything that's, like, about to fall on us.
[00:13:37] Speaker B: That's sick. That's sick. So, Ro, you're just carefully picking through the space, separating things, maybe even starting to see what could be valuable, moving things around without having to physically touch things. Greta, as you sit down and you pull out your incense and begin muttering, you close your eyes, and that green, illusory third eye on your forehead flashes to light and opens as you begin searching through histories.
What specifically are you casting Legend Lore on?
[00:14:05] Speaker A: A place.
[00:14:07] Speaker B: Okay. Place, Greta.
The lights dim all around you, and the black shadow of the shop returns to swallow everything up into a perfect shadow.
And as light begins to cross your vision, it comes from one side of you, moving gradually, like a dawn.
And as your eyes open to it, you see, indeed, dawn, Dawn. Moving across smooth stones, the street, Magic Lane, with its bluish gray stonework that's been flattened and rubbed soft and smooth.
You see two buildings stacked next to each other, one a building that has since been abandoned.
And you see that it's some sort of like a.
It's like a general silks and cloth and supply store.
Now, what there is a name for that probably, I don't know, but it's some sort of like a fabrics shop, some sort of tapestry and woven goods.
And it has since been abandoned on Magic Lane and not reclaimed.
And then next to it, a shop which is still there.
The bazaar that Big John runs is opposite the street, but next to it here is like a tome binding shop.
And these are the two buildings in between Madame Miscor's shop stands. And as you look now in your vision, there is.
There's a foot between them, like the space that simply exists when you build two buildings and you don't want them to run into each other.
[00:16:03] Speaker A: There's no shop.
[00:16:06] Speaker B: And you watch as on one cool winter day, the shadows build in a particular dark manner.
And at the back of this, I mean, alley is too strong a word, it's a foot wide at the back.
The shadows seem to. To pull together unnaturally dark, to form like a perfect pitch, very slowly, very gradually. And you're watching in this sort of. It's like you're watching all of it over hours, but in a fast, blurred sense. But for you, it's in full time. And as people and carts travel by, you watch as the darkness pools, this one long pale digit reach out from the shadow and strokes the ground, moves back into the shade. Then it comes back out and it puts down a white stone like a square of a building, and slides it forward and slides back into the shadow.
You watch a day pass and then another.
Slowly, these stones get pushed forward until they meet the space in between the two buildings.
Over days, weeks, slowly but surely, there's like a one foot layer of stone.
It fills up just a little bit between the two buildings.
Over the course of weeks, it's two stones high.
After a month, there's about two feet of brick built up, or not even brick, like a stone that would be layered on with some sort of attack.
The same one that stands on the outside of the shop now, but it's only two feet up and it takes months to happen. It's so gradual you wouldn't even notice. You would think slowly, if you were a passerby, that somebody, you're not sure who was deciding to seal up the space.
And it rises and it rises until after about two or three years, it seals up the whole space in between the two buildings.
Your vision lifts higher now, 20ft up in the air.
And one day everyone awakes in a morning, or actually a dawn comes again and people don't notice. But even though the street appears about the same length and the buildings are all in their same position, one day the wall of stone a foot wide, just filling up the space between the two buildings is two feet wide.
A pretty significant difference, but not if you were anyone who didn't know the area well. Maybe if you were the owner of one of these two shops, you might stop and look and think.
But nothing to note at the time.
And for a few years pass, it's three feet wide.
And you watch as slowly but surely, it's like Miscore's shop grows.
It's like it pushes the other buildings slowly apart, but impossibly so. They would be fracturing their foundations and structures would be breaking.
This ground couldn't accommodate it. But it's like everything around it just stretches and shifts slowly but surely, innocuously, piece by piece.
It's like her shop grows into position and place until one day the whole shop is there, unmanned, unattended, but the door and the window. Over 70, 80 years, people have probably come to talk about it, to regard it.
But one day when the door, finally when the door and the sink window are all there, it's still shabby looking, newer than as you've known it, but not well made.
You watch as a single light, a dim light, comes on in the window and the door creaks in and a little monkey, little capuchin, crawls out of the door, closes it behind him, climbs up onto a barrel in front of the shop and sits down and starts chattering to customers passing by.
And your legend lore dissolves and you blink awake in the shop where everybody's been taking a good 30, 40 minutes, breathing and waiting and thinking. And.
[00:20:42] Speaker A: Yeah, I. I relay this to everyone.
[00:20:50] Speaker C: Was the monkey. This is me asking Zach, like Ro would be asking, was the monkey alive when it like, was it like normal monkey?
[00:20:58] Speaker B: It was like now to say that it was ever a real normal monkey. Maybe, maybe not. But at one point it looked non skeletal.
[00:21:07] Speaker A: Wow.
[00:21:09] Speaker D: I wonder if it likes being a normal monkey, a skeleton monkey or a tentacle monkey more.
[00:21:14] Speaker C: Well, now it doesn't really matter cuz he's like in a dimension, right? You put him somewhere.
[00:21:20] Speaker D: Oh, that wasn't boss talking, that was Landon. Sorry oh, yeah.
[00:21:24] Speaker B: Tello is leaned back against a case of items. He's rubbing his template. He goes, tentacle monkeys are really unfortunate combination of words.
[00:21:33] Speaker D: Landon looks at Tallow and says, tello, I admire your work so much. You're my favorite.
[00:21:42] Speaker B: Calms down water from his water skin and starts. He just breathes softly.
[00:21:46] Speaker C: Hey, Balls.
[00:21:47] Speaker D: Here's a million platinum Tello. My gift to you.
[00:21:52] Speaker A: Balls.
[00:21:52] Speaker B: Where I have magic weapon for once.
[00:21:57] Speaker A: You can't upcast legend lord, can you? What? Can you?
[00:22:00] Speaker B: No.
[00:22:01] Speaker D: You can upcast any spell to still cast it, right?
[00:22:03] Speaker C: Like you can use the slot.
[00:22:05] Speaker D: You can use a high level spell slot to cast another spell.
[00:22:07] Speaker C: Yeah, you can. Like.
[00:22:08] Speaker B: Yes, Right, right, right, right, right. It's just. It'll specify it as if it has additional effects. So. Yes.
[00:22:13] Speaker A: So.
Well then I'll do it on the bizarre bath's hand.
That gonna be scary.
[00:22:24] Speaker C: I wanna. I want. Bro.
[00:22:26] Speaker A: You know what?
I don't have enough. I don't have enough incense for that. Dang it.
[00:22:31] Speaker B: Okay.
Greta, would you like to make a DC5 intelligence check?
[00:22:36] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:22:38] Speaker B: Roll it.
[00:22:39] Speaker A: I have to roll it.
Have a smart day.
[00:22:45] Speaker C: Smart day.
[00:22:48] Speaker B: You know what? DC3.
[00:22:50] Speaker A: Oh, my modifier is so high.
[00:22:52] Speaker B: Dude.
[00:22:55] Speaker A: I got a.
24.
[00:23:05] Speaker B: You go, you know what? I don't have the incense today, but you pick up one of the vials of something in the shop that doesn't look too magical. You open it, you pour out whatever those contents are. Some bones. You fill it up with sand, you cork it, you put it away in your coat, and you're like, I bet I can cast legends along that later.
[00:23:22] Speaker A: So smart.
What a smart DM we have.
[00:23:26] Speaker D: Wow. Dm.
I love container laws. Hey, you know what? Technically, your heart's a container.
Oh, my goodness.
[00:23:35] Speaker C: I get out. I get out the.
[00:23:38] Speaker A: The.
[00:23:38] Speaker C: The side of past paths.
[00:23:43] Speaker B: Rose, you lift up the stone. I keep doing that to. You can peer through it. It's just one. It's not both eyes.
So Ro picks up the side of past pads with one eye and then just her hand with the other.
And what are you looking for?
[00:23:58] Speaker C: I first think of the Count.
[00:24:02] Speaker A: Oh, that's good, huh?
[00:24:06] Speaker B: You see? No footsteps.
[00:24:07] Speaker C: Okay, now I think of what's his name. What's his name?
Silly boy. The cloak warlock. What's his name?
[00:24:21] Speaker A: We killed him.
Dolgo. Thank you.
[00:24:26] Speaker B: Do not see any footsteps. Not from. Not from Dolgo.
[00:24:30] Speaker A: I want to think of K.
[00:24:33] Speaker C: I.
[00:24:34] Speaker A: Oh, it's not me. Never mind. I don't have the rock.
[00:24:37] Speaker B: No.
[00:24:37] Speaker C: Do you want. Do you see. Say that out Loud. I'll hand it to you in a second.
[00:24:40] Speaker A: Or. Or I'll wait till you're done.
[00:24:44] Speaker C: Okay. Okay. Oh yeah, we could do that. I would like to. I would like to look for Janice.
[00:24:55] Speaker B: You peer. You don't look anywhere. You get curious and open the door outside. Yeah. Her foot's led to the shop once and then they walked away.
[00:25:05] Speaker A: That's funny.
[00:25:07] Speaker C: Okay, what about Connor?
[00:25:08] Speaker B: As you briefly open the door and some light comes in, there's a crowd of like 80 people with like a 30 foot birth outside the door, like looking.
[00:25:15] Speaker D: Boz is doing something while this is happening too.
[00:25:18] Speaker B: Okay, what are you doing, Boss?
[00:25:19] Speaker D: Boss is walking to the end of the shop that was dark where the.
[00:25:22] Speaker B: Lady was sitting at the desk.
Okay, Boz, you tread over.
You see that like. Like ground level table. I mean, it's basically like a tabletop on the ground. You know, just one that two people could sit at. Okay, yes, but not at all in the way that you meant. And the one that's always been there. But Boz, you walk to the back of the shop and it's like an. It's like an unpleasant. Like you have to like climb over things and around them. It's a wreck in here.
And some things look dangerous to touch. But as you walk back, you pass the desk. As you get to the back of the room, shadow still clings very darkly to.
[00:25:56] Speaker D: It.
[00:25:59] Speaker B: Gets so black back here that it's still like. Yeah, that could be from the light. Has a limit to how far it'll reach, but it's a little too dark.
So much so that you can't see anything. At some point.
[00:26:11] Speaker D: Nice.
[00:26:13] Speaker A: That's light on Boss's nose.
[00:26:17] Speaker B: Did you Greta?
Nice.
[00:26:20] Speaker D: Okay, as you root off, gotta leave.
[00:26:22] Speaker B: The sleigh and Baz, as your nose lights up, all of a sudden the last bit of shelf leaves and it ends. Then there's a little bit of wall and then Boz.
Black.
Your light just stops.
It doesn't light up a wall at the back.
At some point it just gets to darkness.
Something purely dark.
[00:26:50] Speaker D: You know, I gotta touch it.
[00:26:55] Speaker A: I was hoping you would touch it.
[00:26:58] Speaker B: As you reach out your hand closer and closer and closer, continuing the heritage of the tree and the spinning black pearl and all these things. Boz, you reach out your hand and when your finger finally reaches, it's so hard to tell. At some point you're like, it must just be shadow because it. It's like, I haven't touched it. I haven't touched it. At some point you're like Surely I've touched it. And then at some point your finger finally reaches far back enough and you pull your hand back instinctually. A nervous response. Because what you touch is so cold.
As curiosity grips you again. And you reach back out and you poke. Your finger passes into something.
Your hand disappears up to the wrist, up to the forearm. It just disappears into black.
[00:27:53] Speaker D: How do you guys feel about animal abuse?
[00:27:57] Speaker C: Is that Boz that says that?
[00:27:59] Speaker B: No crazy sentence out loud.
[00:28:02] Speaker D: That's a bad thing. What I'm thinking is like the classic should I send my familiar into this?
[00:28:09] Speaker B: You know.
[00:28:09] Speaker C: Yeah, but you're familiar with the whole.
[00:28:11] Speaker B: Cover your ears nimbus. Cover your ears like the whole.
[00:28:16] Speaker D: You know, like Craig's ex cat who almost disliked him as much as his ex wife Rose.
[00:28:25] Speaker C: Father's cat. Now you can call him by his name. Jath's cat.
Faber. Jeff Faber. Son of Jaffa.
[00:28:34] Speaker D: Get it out.
[00:28:35] Speaker C: Brother of crow.
[00:28:36] Speaker A: Everyone here has a name, all right?
[00:28:40] Speaker D: So I try not to think about it. I pull out my dragon and I say, you summon.
[00:28:45] Speaker B: You summon him. And he, his serpent like form appears.
[00:28:49] Speaker D: And I look through his eyes as he flies through Zalifax.
[00:28:54] Speaker B: He like gives you one tepid look.
He's like bro, that constant Fae curiosity he has and those like rib attached wings and he just.
And he disappears. Boz, you gotta connect with his eyes and you get no connection.
But you don't feel disconnected from him.
You feel like he's still alive but you can't see.
It's like he's far, far, far too far away.
[00:29:24] Speaker D: Alright, I pull him back.
[00:29:26] Speaker B: Okay. As you will him back. He comes out and he wraps up on your shoulder in a snake like position.
[00:29:33] Speaker D: Does he seem like he saw a bad dream?
[00:29:35] Speaker A: He takes you to a different dimension.
[00:29:38] Speaker B: He looks at you with like a kind of startled, confused look. And he speaks to you in Sylvan because he's intelligent and can. And he says in Sylvan, he says, I've never seen anything like that.
[00:29:53] Speaker D: Could I walk through it and be safe?
[00:29:57] Speaker B: I don't know. But I'm always down for something interesting. He opens his jaws and like trills his teeth, his fangs.
[00:30:04] Speaker C: I think he's a bad influence.
[00:30:06] Speaker B: Darts out.
[00:30:09] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:30:10] Speaker D: Was there ground beneath you when you flew through?
[00:30:12] Speaker B: There was.
[00:30:14] Speaker D: How far away?
[00:30:16] Speaker B: Immediately.
Okay.
Did it hurt? I don't think about ground often.
I don't know. I fly. Okay.
[00:30:26] Speaker D: All right, boss.
[00:30:30] Speaker B: And you all watch as paws at the back of the shop.
[00:30:33] Speaker C: See boss? Or is it too dark? Oh yeah.
[00:30:35] Speaker B: This is all happening like pretty far.
[00:30:37] Speaker A: Away, like 40 flowing feet.
[00:30:39] Speaker B: He sends his. He senses his familiar in. He.
[00:30:41] Speaker C: I walk over towards. Towards him. If he's doing this, okay, like if he's talking back and forth, is this interrupting what you're doing?
[00:30:46] Speaker B: Or have you already stepped through Boss?
[00:30:48] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:30:48] Speaker D: No. Boss takes a foot in and Ro.
[00:30:51] Speaker B: As you get curious and start walking toward him, you start throwing the word. And before you can get Boss out without a word or looking back to you, he just.
And his boss takes a step forward, he just is gone. You watch. His boss just melts into the black.
[00:31:06] Speaker C: Road, turns to the rest of the party and goes, guys, Boss disappeared again.
[00:31:12] Speaker B: Tell us at the wall. And he just goes, you know, I'm not even starting to feel so guilty about my betrayal anymore. And Foz.
As you step through the shadow, you're standing on dark stone.
It's not pitch black. All around there's light, but just enough of it a twilight, just enough to make out that there are things around you. But you'd be challenged even to read under this light.
You stand in smooth, slick black slate with broken little fragments.
Prominent mountain topographies raise up around you like mountains, but not pure and natural like them, like stabbing blades of earth that come up at odd angles and just terminate and then arise abruptly somewhere else, as if stone was smashed together anciently but then has rested here, eternally unmoved.
There are clear paths to the landscape. You stand high somewhere looking down on a landscape, and as you look down across all the black shadow where mist clings to low paths and the rocks seem slick with moisture, but then dry to the touch, where the air is unpleasantly cold but not frigid. No ice.
You look back and you've stepped out of the a deep crag between stones where the shadow is so deep and black that there very much could have been a portal there, but it could have just been a space where light can't reach.
And as you look up, all around are clouds.
Not the bright clouds that sail through summer skies, not even the quilted thick clouds of winter or even the terrible majesty of a storm, but an oppressive wall of a gray that's almost black that rests across the horizon where just the slightest little white light gets through.
And it's not a peak of light like a ray, it's just a diffused tone all across the landscape. Very far in the distance you can see that the coagulus stony landscape that you stand in disappears into ravines and canyons that are filled with mist. And then very far in the distance Is forest as far as you can see.
A thick, tall, twisted, dark pine. Forest seems so heavy with shadow. It's like nothing could move in it.
And everything here is so quiet, so very still.
Nice.
[00:34:18] Speaker D: Boz, with full confidence, turns around and walks back into the crag.
[00:34:22] Speaker B: Okay. And you just back through. And as you watch as Boz just steps back out from that black door.
[00:34:30] Speaker C: Boz, where were you?
[00:34:32] Speaker D: It was a Wendy's, actually, back there.
[00:34:35] Speaker C: Who's the Wendy?
[00:34:37] Speaker D: I don't know.
[00:34:38] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:34:40] Speaker D: Boss says is a like a mountain.
[00:34:44] Speaker B: Just a cold mountain.
[00:34:47] Speaker C: Do you think the shadow fell?
[00:34:51] Speaker D: I don't think that's real.
[00:34:54] Speaker C: I've been there. So no.
[00:34:57] Speaker D: Boss starts looking through the magic items on the ground.
[00:35:00] Speaker B: Give me an invasion investigation check.
[00:35:02] Speaker A: All right, Ro, I want to go through and just look.
[00:35:09] Speaker C: Yeah. Ro wants to beat her head through. Ro wants to go through and see if it looks the same as when.
[00:35:13] Speaker B: She was in the Shadow Fell investigation is under intelligence.
[00:35:17] Speaker D: Okay. Okay.
[00:35:18] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:35:19] Speaker B: As you're figuring out that role. Landon, Ro, Greta, you two walk by. Travel to the ends.
[00:35:27] Speaker C: Jump in.
Yeah.
[00:35:29] Speaker B: You all step through 19.
Okay. Okay. We will come back to that one.
[00:35:34] Speaker C: You change the music back.
[00:35:37] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:35:39] Speaker B: I'll step through.
And, Ro, as you step through with Greta. Greta. The moment you step through, you feel the worst chill down your spine as if you spent decades of your life looking at the surface of water.
And now you finally got in.
[00:36:02] Speaker A: Aww.
[00:36:04] Speaker B: As if you spent decades of your life standing on the edge of something that you fully submerged yourself in for the first time.
[00:36:10] Speaker A: Wow. That's.
[00:36:11] Speaker B: You step through, and the cold air inhalates into your nose. It triggers a terrible part of your brain, like a part of your. Your fear response deep in. In the simplest part of your brain. Triggers. And all the hairs stand up on the back of your neck.
Oh, you've been here. This is definitely shadow.
[00:36:34] Speaker C: Wow.
Okay. Well, I'm ready to go back.
She looks incredible.
[00:36:43] Speaker B: Could you roll me a D100, bro?
[00:36:46] Speaker C: Oh, I don't like that.
[00:36:50] Speaker B: Nothing insanely. I'm just, you know, see if something interesting happens.
Or maybe it's just. Most landscapes are just still an empty most of the time.
[00:36:58] Speaker C: What does it mean when you get double zeros on the.
On that one? Zero double zeros on the. On the zero.
It means zero.
[00:37:09] Speaker B: The only thing that could be double zeros. Yeah.
[00:37:11] Speaker C: Okay, so I rolled a one.
Like a zero, zero and a one.
I don't like your face.
You were like, nothing bad can happen unless you roll a one. Is that what the. Is that what the end of that one.
My feet are sweating so much.
[00:37:43] Speaker A: Stop it.
[00:37:47] Speaker B: I just didn't.
Okay.
[00:37:49] Speaker C: Oh, my God.
[00:37:53] Speaker B: I have to do some thinking.
[00:37:55] Speaker C: Am I really unlucky, you guys?
[00:37:58] Speaker D: How many hit points do you have?
Like ten?
[00:38:04] Speaker A: No, no, no. We would have healed each other.
[00:38:10] Speaker C: Well, I have at least 57. And maybe I healed myself.
[00:38:14] Speaker D: Maybe I healed myself.
[00:38:16] Speaker B: If you wanna. If you wanna expend a couple spell slots and roll some retroactive healing spells right now.
[00:38:20] Speaker A: You can't.
[00:38:21] Speaker C: Yeah, you know what? I think I will.
That's stupid.
[00:38:29] Speaker B: 30 or 40ft from the door. Also, nothing has happened. You all just walked out and felt your feelings.
[00:38:34] Speaker A: You are.
[00:38:34] Speaker B: Nobody rolled the D100 consciously around you. You guys are just taking in this environment.
Greta, you are enraptured by this place that spawned the curiosities that became the demons that held you for so long.
[00:38:48] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:38:49] Speaker B: You fell in love with and that sucked the blood and life out of you.
And the years they drank from you.
You offered them.
You stand here in the place that gave birth to them.
As you look at this grim environment, you realize that you have this feeling inside you. Old feelings well up.
Memories of your worst perspectives.
Okay, this place seeps.
[00:39:15] Speaker C: I'm up a little bit.
[00:39:16] Speaker B: Darkest truths of reality.
You can't tell if this place is made from all of the grim, terrible dooms of the material plane or if all the terrible dooms of the material plane flow from this place. But you can feel a morose finality that just lays across this place like a film.
[00:39:44] Speaker A: So I think Greta. I don't know if other people experience experiences, but Greta does.
Sometimes when Greta sees something very, very beautiful, it makes her very sad inside.
So I think seeing this landscape that is beautiful, it's like a beautiful. In like a horrid way.
It's. But it's beautiful in like a wrong way, a twisted way. And it like, fills her with this like, awful feeling. But I think somehow, like, in a way that doesn't make sense. Sense. I think that's somehow cathartic for her. I think that in the way when like, like, you know, she would like, be upset watching a beautiful sunset. I think that this, like, this heavy, heavy, like awful feeling, like it's something like.
Like an inverted sense of peace or an inverted sense of comfort, kind of like settles on her.
[00:40:40] Speaker B: And at a very different place in your life now, Greta, years later, grown in some ways healed, though still a person, still with wounds and problems.
As you feel this bizarre catharsis, you also get this little itch at the Back of your skull.
That little part of you, that hungry part.
[00:41:06] Speaker A: Yeah. Like she.
[00:41:08] Speaker B: I. I think that how things realm could begin. Addiction and hunger and. And a want for what was so darkly beautiful.
[00:41:17] Speaker A: She, like, she puts her hands, like around her neck and she rubs the spot where the noose was.
And it's just like it. Like if she can feel it.
[00:41:26] Speaker B: As you rub the fibers where the noose were, you realize that it lays in about the same pattern that your necklace did all those years.
[00:41:35] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah.
[00:41:36] Speaker B: And as you rub your fingers, you feel the very subtle scars from the cords that used to hang there.
As you're being entranced in those thoughts and Ro. As you're standing there taking the landscape. And then you turn and Greta's standing there, wide out of the landscape, like, kind of transfixed, rubbing her neck. You all hear, both of you, And there's this motion and this shadow flies by and over you before.
Landing on stone maybe 2 or 300ft away, some distance up high on stone top. Give me a second to find me a reference image here.
[00:42:25] Speaker A: No, I can't do this.
[00:42:27] Speaker C: No, I don't want.
[00:42:28] Speaker B: Hold on.
[00:42:29] Speaker C: You don't have to. It's okay.
Hey, Zach, I'm giving you a time warning, but we just need to get through this so you don't.
[00:42:38] Speaker B: Oh, we will.
[00:42:39] Speaker C: So you don't need to do it.
[00:42:42] Speaker A: Yeah. If there's anything that maybe like Lauren.
[00:42:46] Speaker B: Reference perching there on the stone rock.
[00:42:52] Speaker C: Nothing.
[00:42:53] Speaker B: Do you want to go look in Lauren reference is an immense dragon, maybe 90, 100ft long.
Its neck cranes up to 36, 40ft where it perches.
But it's.
It's a weird twist on the creatures you've known.
Its skin is thick but rubbery, not scaled like an amphibian. Its neck folds into layers.
It's got a grayish hue to it with purple lines running down its sides. And when the folds of its necks gather, it's like shelf fungus is growing out of its neck and lining to its jaw. Its jaws are not powerful like crushing jaws, but like a scooped beak.
Its eyes, instead of being the piercing horn horrifying, beautiful intricacy of dragon eyes, are like these pale blind discs surrounded by red tissue. It has folded deep purple heavy wings that are bound up at its shoulders. And its wing, its tail, its long, flat, scooped tail, just wraps around the stone.
And as it lands, you all pause for a moment and freeze. What an incredibly unlikely occurrence. Its head just turns and it tilts.
And from hundreds of feet away, it looks at you with one milky eye. That has no pupil, no iris, but a paler white center, turns and looks. And as it looks, it just says. It just goes.
[00:44:26] Speaker A: God, I hate that sound.
[00:44:38] Speaker B: How do you all respond?
[00:44:40] Speaker A: I'd like to turn around.
[00:44:42] Speaker C: I go.
[00:44:43] Speaker A: I'm actually gonna run. I think it's gonna run.
[00:44:47] Speaker B: Greta turns around and runs back through the portal. Row.
[00:44:51] Speaker C: I. How far out of the portal are we not.
[00:44:54] Speaker B: You're like, 30ft from the portal, and it's like, 300ft.
[00:44:57] Speaker C: I'm 30ft from the portal.
[00:45:00] Speaker B: Yep.
[00:45:02] Speaker C: I don't actually.
[00:45:04] Speaker B: Let's do this.
I think I need a wisdom saving throw from you, bro.
But Greta's running.
[00:45:13] Speaker A: Me? Am I running?
[00:45:15] Speaker C: Bad words.
[00:45:15] Speaker A: Do I have to?
Do I have to Wisdom?
[00:45:18] Speaker B: I said you were running. You can stay if you want.
[00:45:21] Speaker A: No, I'm running. Do I have to Wisdom throw?
[00:45:24] Speaker B: No, you. You turned and ran.
[00:45:30] Speaker C: Wisdom.
Pocked on a different dice.
[00:45:40] Speaker B: All right, I haven't gotten to bust out this book yet.
[00:45:43] Speaker C: 21.
Oh, I have Fizbe.
[00:45:46] Speaker B: Okay.
You feel an overwhelming sense of fear beginning to freeze you.
But as adrenaline is coursing through your body, largely fueled by the encounter you just had, you feel like you're still in control of your own limbs, but it's just sitting there, staring at you, stone still.
[00:46:04] Speaker A: Bro, come home. Run away, bro.
[00:46:09] Speaker C: I don't take. I.
Excuse me.
I, I, I turn around and roll. Run. But, like, every few seconds, I turn to make sure it's still there, like, not moving.
[00:46:26] Speaker B: Okay, you, like. You, like, run and turn and run and turn. And, like, right before you're 10ft from the door, you look back, and it's about 100ft closer, like, but we didn't hear it. Sideways on a rock and flung there. It makes eye contact with you, and it turns its head sideways and looks at you with that big milky eye, and it simply hisses.
Shadows never stay gone for long.
And then you dart into the. Into the portal.
[00:47:02] Speaker A: It's so scary. Dragons are so scary because they can talk.
[00:47:09] Speaker B: You guys. Okay, so, Boz, you've been.
[00:47:11] Speaker C: You've been shadows with Craig.
[00:47:15] Speaker B: Shadows never stay gone for long.
[00:47:17] Speaker C: Gone for long.
[00:47:18] Speaker B: Where you all are in the shop. You come through. Greta and Ro run back in, panting, sweat beaded on their forehead still from death's door earlier, having magically healed themselves.
[00:47:28] Speaker C: Somebody needs to shut that thing. Also. You know how to shut a gate.
One shadow fell, two dragon.
[00:47:37] Speaker A: One shadow valley.
[00:47:39] Speaker B: And Craig pulls out a. You said dragon.
[00:47:42] Speaker A: Oh, Craig.
[00:47:43] Speaker D: No, there was no dragon in the portal, Craig. I was out there.
There was no dragon. I Literally stood out there and looked all around. There was no dragon. I sent my dragon out there to see her around. You think he would have came back and said, oh, there's no dragon if there was no dragon, do you want.
[00:48:01] Speaker A: To go see the dragon? Landed there, Saw a dragon.
[00:48:04] Speaker C: He landed there when we were. When we were standing, when we were out there.
[00:48:09] Speaker D: Boss keeps looking for magic items. He rolled a 19, by the way, on the check before they do the 100, so that's what he's looking for.
[00:48:15] Speaker B: You're 19.
[00:48:18] Speaker D: You.
[00:48:20] Speaker B: That's crazy, guys. I. Only because you roll the one.
I had to deepen. I had to dig into some deep lore for that. That's stuff I didn't know if I was gonna pull out.
[00:48:30] Speaker A: I hope that we get to figure out who he is.
[00:48:32] Speaker C: I wanna. I wanna do a check in a second, but go ahead.
[00:48:37] Speaker B: You find a number of interesting items and everyone's looking, right?
All together.
[00:48:43] Speaker C: You want to make it clear that Ro is not touching anything. She's only using ledger.
[00:48:48] Speaker B: All ledger domain. Excellent, excellent, excellent.
I mean to say that you find what, what is there in their shop. 3, 400 things, much of which scattered and messed in and ruined. But you find 14 in intact objects that really stand out to you.
One is a heavily tarnished silver goblet covered in ornate scrawling.
Another is an ornate glass eye, realistically carved and painted.
Another is a rusty brown diadem, delicate and fine, with a brown stone affixed in its center.
Another is a 2 inch ivory brooch set in silver, painted with a shadowy dark figure in the middle. I can repeat any of this.
Another is an amphora, like a thin tall vase sealed with a corked top.
Another is the noose, the stained noose that's just fallen limply to the ground.
[00:49:53] Speaker C: Now burn it.
[00:49:55] Speaker B: Another is a slim blue wax candle with a copper base.
Another is a silvery vial of thin pale fluid. The shop is filled with vials, but most of them have fallen and broken. And there is a horrible mixture of fluids on the floor that don't seem undangerous.
[00:50:14] Speaker C: That don't seem.
[00:50:16] Speaker D: I dare Craig Delictor.
[00:50:19] Speaker C: What a krypt.
[00:50:20] Speaker B: Resist.
There is also a gnarled and twisted broom with harshly bristled dry grass at its end.
[00:50:31] Speaker A: Wow.
[00:50:32] Speaker B: There is what is very clearly sitting on that little table.
The floor table is a misty glass orb set in a hollowed and removed cranium of a human skull.
[00:50:44] Speaker C: No.
[00:50:47] Speaker B: You all find on the floor a plain copper coin that's very commonly a common face relieved on one side and a heavily scarred face on the opposite.
You also find a severed, clean, bone, white skeletal hand.
And finally, a set of heavy iron chains with connected lock.
[00:51:11] Speaker C: What was the last one?
What?
[00:51:13] Speaker B: A set of heavy iron chains with a connected lock.
Cool. And a key tied to them. A string.
[00:51:23] Speaker C: What you got? The lock, the key, the whole set.
[00:51:29] Speaker B: Anything in particular?
Drawing the party?
[00:51:34] Speaker D: Well, boss has his 14 and I think he has them like in a pile when everybody gets back. And he's like, hey guys.
[00:51:41] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:51:44] Speaker D: Yeah, like I'm getting the stuff that's cool. And like accumulating it in one place.
[00:51:48] Speaker C: I don't have like Boss has his things. I don't know what you guys get.
[00:51:57] Speaker B: As you've gathered them and stacked them up around that table on the floor.
They're all there.
[00:52:04] Speaker D: I think we need to figure out how to keep people from just like taking this building.
[00:52:11] Speaker C: I think we should burn it to the ground.
[00:52:13] Speaker B: Okay, we could do that.
[00:52:15] Speaker C: That's my idea, says Ro.
[00:52:18] Speaker D: Alright, I'm down. Boz starts preparing Hewn's inferno.
[00:52:27] Speaker C: But I know magic items don't necessarily.
[00:52:30] Speaker B: These items or I.
[00:52:32] Speaker D: If we're burning it, let's burn it.
[00:52:34] Speaker C: Well, do y' all want to keep these intactish items or are you afraid they're cursed?
[00:52:40] Speaker D: I don't know.
[00:52:42] Speaker C: Well, I mean I can identify. I still have a little bit of juice in me to identify if you.
[00:52:47] Speaker B: All want to identify a couple of these.
[00:52:51] Speaker C: Sure, boss. Is there something specific you got?
Like, you know what I would like to identify? The brown diadem.
[00:52:58] Speaker B: Oh, okay. Sorry, Ro.
As you play the familiar tune and focus on the diadem, you identify the diadem of the ill gotten.
Also, as a very quick note, shout out to Mr. Quelin from Lassiter, the chemistry teacher. I wrote half of these and I said, hey man, I don't have enough time. Do you want to write a bunch of cursed magic items? Because he kind of likes D and D. He was like, yes. So half of these are his.
And I did some tweaking for mechanical things because he hasn't gotten to play a ton. But this is his idea.
[00:53:32] Speaker C: So what is this called? You learn of ill. What?
[00:53:35] Speaker B: The diadem of the ill gotten.
[00:53:37] Speaker C: Of the ill gotten.
[00:53:40] Speaker B: You learn that the weirder, the wearer of this diadem gains the ability to see into the ethereal plane.
[00:53:48] Speaker A: Wow.
[00:53:50] Speaker B: However, you also learn that it is very slightly cursed. Now, you know there are some curses that evade identify, but this one does not. It's a very minor curse. And this says that however, this seeing into the ethereal plane can also attract tenants of the ethereal plane. And you can feel that this item has a propensity for attracting ghosts.
[00:54:15] Speaker C: Oh, that's cool though.
I want to attract ghosts.
That's. That's Jackie, not Ro.
Yeah, that's just me.
[00:54:25] Speaker B: Any others here?
[00:54:27] Speaker C: I. I share with the group, obviously.
[00:54:30] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:54:35] Speaker C: Boz, is there something you'd like me to take a look at? Okay.
[00:54:39] Speaker D: What about the broom? Let's look at the broom.
[00:54:41] Speaker C: Yeah. Yeah, let's look at the broom.
[00:54:44] Speaker B: Ro, I'm sure you're keeping track of the spell slots as you play the tune again and focus on it.
[00:54:49] Speaker C: I have a few.
[00:54:49] Speaker B: You identify the broom of the dusk witch.
[00:54:53] Speaker C: Of dust. Of the dust witch.
[00:54:56] Speaker B: Dusk witch.
[00:54:57] Speaker C: Oh, I said dust like there's dust, so she's.
[00:55:01] Speaker B: That would have been funny.
A gnarled and twisted broom with harshly bristled dried grass at its end. This item requires attunement.
You realize that this item can be mentally flown with a bonus action or just used as movement. If it's attuned, wielder is riding it. So if you're riding it, you're attuned to it. You can just fly it with your movement or if you only the attuned wielder can move it. But if they're not on it, they can still move it with a mind. With their mind. As a bonus action, you realize that it has a flying speed of 40ft, so it's a flying broom, which is pretty awesome. And it grants it's a tuned rider. Proficiency in dexterity saving throws while riding the broom.
So if you're not on the broom, you don't. But if you're on the broom, you have proficiency in dex saving throws.
[00:56:05] Speaker C: Is it cursed?
[00:56:07] Speaker B: You're not picking anything up with the identify.
[00:56:12] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:56:14] Speaker C: I mean, Ro. Ro pipes up and says if.
If we like any of this stuff and we're worried about it being cursed, we might could take it to like, connache and she could do a little bit more zhuzh on it. She might be able to tell easier if it's cursed because she has more experience.
So I would say if there's anything we really like, we have her take a look at it before we, like, start attaching ourselves to things.
[00:56:44] Speaker D: I was thinking it might be worth just calling Kanaje and seeing if she wants to make a house call, set up like a research post, come out here and just like, say, hey, we got a magic shop.
[00:56:54] Speaker B: She did tell you a couple years ago. You do remember that when you talked to her about Madam Newscore as once, now her opinion might have changed greatly now that Matamy score is gone. But you do recall that she said that she has intentionally never set foot in this place. But, but, but, but now that music is gone, she might have a very different opinion. You just do remember that conversation with her a couple years ago?
I think it's.
[00:57:15] Speaker D: Think I could. She might have somebody different feelings, but I feel like I. If she might be intrigued enough to like be like an empty X cursed magic shop and I am like magical expert. Maybe I go check it out. And also like, I don't know if I trust anybody else to like, we can't deal with this, right? Like, we'll just leave an empty building with a bunch of like bombs basically just in here.
[00:57:39] Speaker C: Well, that's why I said burn it.
[00:57:41] Speaker D: I think also, like, tell like the authorities probably. You know, that sounds like a narc move, but just like tell the local government that, like there's a magic shop where the hag used to live that's now just filled with dangerous relics of a past time.
The shadow fell. You all know something.
[00:57:58] Speaker B: People know this place is dangerous, and people tend to avoid it when they know about it.
[00:58:02] Speaker D: Now that.
[00:58:03] Speaker B: Yeah, that doesn't mean that boss's concerns are not valid.
[00:58:05] Speaker D: Now they also saw the fun guys go in ready for war and walk out.
[00:58:09] Speaker B: Right?
[00:58:10] Speaker D: Fine.
[00:58:11] Speaker A: Right.
[00:58:11] Speaker B: Right. Soldiers, like, are aware this place exists.
Are there any other identifies or.
[00:58:22] Speaker C: It's fine, Greta. Is there anything you'd like to identify?
You're not. We cannot hear your love.
[00:58:29] Speaker B: Yeah, Ted.
[00:58:34] Speaker C: Oh, I still can't hear you.
I think your mic's off.
I can't hear you.
[00:58:40] Speaker B: No, no, you're gonzo, dude.
[00:58:42] Speaker C: You fell. He fell into the shadow.
[00:58:44] Speaker B: Fail.
Greta died.
[00:58:48] Speaker A: Hello?
[00:58:49] Speaker C: There she is.
[00:58:49] Speaker A: Hello. Hello? Hello? Am I here? Can you hear me? Am I here?
[00:58:53] Speaker B: Yes, you're here.
[00:58:55] Speaker A: I'm so sorry. I was. I was talking about to my breath.
Talking to my breath.
Are.
Did you. I'm curious about the eyeball. What does the eyeball do?
[00:59:06] Speaker C: We did not do the eyeball.
[00:59:07] Speaker B: So the party. The party has identified the diadem. The little. The little circlet crown lets you see into the ethereal plane, but attracts ghosts. The broom is a flying broom.
[00:59:17] Speaker A: Requires attunement.
[00:59:19] Speaker B: And these are the two that have been identified.
[00:59:21] Speaker C: You want me to identify the glass eye?
[00:59:24] Speaker A: I'm super curious about the glass eye.
I. I love knowledge.
[00:59:28] Speaker C: I. I got a couple slots left, so pick your favorite.
[00:59:32] Speaker B: It's really cool watching you Guys finally use all your slots. How often does that happen?
[00:59:36] Speaker C: I forget how many slots bards have. And then I'm like, oh, I'm the last one left with slots.
[00:59:43] Speaker B: Ro you identify this is another queen special, the Eye of Trog Redeer.
[00:59:48] Speaker C: Ooh, I like the name.
[00:59:53] Speaker B: This ornate glass eye, realistically carved and painted.
As you identify it, you realize that one with this eye, one can separately carve out one of their own eyes.
[01:00:06] Speaker C: Oh, no.
[01:00:07] Speaker B: Of their own volition. And then replace it with the Eye of Trogradir.
If they do so, they will now see through the Eye of Trogra, dirty as if it was their own eye.
However, their disembodied eye now continues to survive and see.
It's like Acotar. When they close their eyes, they can now focus through the disembodied eye. So if. When you put the eye of Trogadir in your head, you can now see through it as if you had two working eyes. And then somewhere else in the world you could put your. Your other eye. And whenever you close yours, as long as you're awake, not asleep, you could see through that other eye.
[01:00:48] Speaker D: Chocolatier was a good person, so that sounds like a good deal.
[01:00:53] Speaker A: Who's Chocolatier?
[01:01:00] Speaker B: He's from Phineas and Ferb.
[01:01:01] Speaker C: That's morbid. Bro says also that's from act like.
[01:01:09] Speaker A: Awful. That's disgusting and like a really horrendous thing. It's not knowledge. That's just a freaking.
[01:01:16] Speaker C: It's a spy.
[01:01:17] Speaker A: An evil party.
[01:01:18] Speaker C: Well, you could carve out your eye, put it, put it somewhere where you want to spy.
[01:01:24] Speaker B: Just get a spoon that bad boy.
[01:01:27] Speaker C: And then you could spy on someone.
[01:01:29] Speaker D: Can we do the news now?
[01:01:30] Speaker A: I can tell you about the news.
[01:01:33] Speaker C: Yeah, I can tell you some things. Credit and I can. But yeah, I'll do the news. I got.
I got a couple more guys, so let's go for it.
[01:01:43] Speaker B: Also, I think Greta has the spell, but, you know.
[01:01:45] Speaker C: Yeah, but she's out of slots, I think.
[01:01:48] Speaker A: No, I'm not out of spots, but I didn't prepare it.
[01:01:51] Speaker C: Oh, she didn't prepare.
[01:01:52] Speaker B: This is the hangman's tie.
It does require.
Yeah, I think it's part of your ship. It does require attunement as an action you can use. You can mentally command it to target a visible creature within 330ft.
The. The. The rope has a 30 foot levitation speed and force them to make a dexterity saving throw.
If they succeed, you know, if they don't get hit with it, if they fail. They are grappled and restrained. This can fit around the necks of medium or smaller creatures and can lift up to 500 pounds 5ft off the ground.
Rope has an AC of 11 and is magical. It's immune to non magical damage.
While you are strangled by the noose, a creature has to make a constitution saving throw.
After a failure, they fall unconscious. And while unconscious, they fail. Every death save.
You also pick up that. You're not exactly sure how, but it has a vibe that it is definitely cursed.
[01:02:49] Speaker C: Oh, who would have thought?
[01:02:56] Speaker B: Now also I want to check in really quickly.
[01:02:58] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:02:58] Speaker B: I assume you guys want to keep going for a second, but I recognize we're approaching our midnight time.
We want to wrap up very concisely we can. Or if everyone's like, no, this is okay, we can keep going for a bit, let me know. But I'm checking in before we do anything.
If anyone wants some good quotes, let me know.
[01:03:13] Speaker D: I'm down to like spend 15 minutes wrapping up if y' all are okay.
[01:03:19] Speaker A: All right.
I'm getting pretty tired, so 15 minutes sounds like a good fine.
[01:03:24] Speaker D: If we end earlier than that, I'm fine, but okay.
[01:03:28] Speaker B: You know, June, Anybody identifying anything else?
[01:03:31] Speaker C: I would like to identify the ivory brooch real quick.
[01:03:36] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:03:41] Speaker B: You identified the brooch of the blithe 2 inch ivory brooch set in silver, painted with an image of a shadowy figure in its center. It does require attunement.
The wearer of the brooch may temporarily learn a new language each day at dawn.
[01:04:02] Speaker C: What?
It's got to be cursed.
Too good to be true.
[01:04:07] Speaker A: You.
[01:04:07] Speaker B: You perceive that it does appear to have a minor curse upon it.
This curse is not terribly hidden. I mean, it is if you're not identifying it. But with identify you can't. Again, there appear to be minor and major curses. Right?
[01:04:21] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:04:22] Speaker B: And you also know well and good that not all of the items in Madame Easter Shop are cursed. Some just aren't. But in some of the curses in here and what it does but each day the wearer has has to keep an intelligence saving throw on a failure.
The cursed individual cannot speak their native tongue.
[01:04:43] Speaker A: Oh.
[01:04:43] Speaker B: They must Instead roll the D6.
The language they roll becomes the only language they can speak until the next dawn.
[01:04:52] Speaker A: That's awesome, dude.
[01:04:54] Speaker C: Can we talk about how fun that would be though?
[01:04:57] Speaker A: I say, I say, I say to row. I say, do you know who I think would love this?
I say, I think we have a certain being loving friend friends that would really get a kick out of this.
[01:05:10] Speaker C: Yeah, he would I think you're right.
[01:05:13] Speaker A: We mail it to him. I think. I think.
[01:05:15] Speaker C: I don't think he receives mail on that island.
[01:05:20] Speaker A: I don't know. I think we should get. I think we should keep it for him. I mean, do you think I'm off the mark? Do you think he'd like it?
What?
You think I'm off the mark? Do you think that he would like it?
[01:05:31] Speaker C: No, I think he would like it. You could teleport it to him so time. Like you could go and with it with the item and teleport to him and.
[01:05:41] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:05:42] Speaker C: Hang out, you know.
And she like elbows and kind of.
[01:05:51] Speaker A: Greta like puts the brooch in her pocket and like walks away.
[01:05:56] Speaker B: Please put that in your inventory, Greta. Also make sure you're keeping track of how much space you have in the.
[01:06:00] Speaker D: In the.
[01:06:01] Speaker B: The cloak. Cuz remember it has a limited amount.
[01:06:03] Speaker C: Okay.
[01:06:05] Speaker B: I think identifying any other items here.
[01:06:07] Speaker A: It was the brooch of Bl.
I have lots of identifies.
[01:06:11] Speaker B: Broach of the Bl.
[01:06:12] Speaker C: Yeah. Do you want to identify some stuff? I'm running. I'm kind of low here.
[01:06:17] Speaker A: Yeah. Just what do I need to identify?
[01:06:20] Speaker B: The remaining items are. There was a silvery tarnished goblet.
An amphora that was corked.
A blue wax candle with a copper base, long and slim. A silvery potion.
A scrying orb set in a human skull. Probably misgorch the copper coin with one normal side and one scratched side. A severed skeletal hand and the chains.
[01:06:49] Speaker C: I'd like to know about the coin if. If you guys are interested.
[01:06:54] Speaker A: I will identify the coin.
[01:06:56] Speaker B: Greta, as you consult Ioun's wisdom, you learn that this is a fated coin.
The coins holder can use a bonus action to flip the coin before they make a check. So when you're doing ability check with an action, you can use a bonus action to before you have rolled your die, flip the coin.
If you land on the face side, you gain a critical success on the check.
So you're doing an ability check. You flip the coin as a bonus action. If you get on the face, you get a critical success. And it's like you rolled a nat20 on whatever that check was.
If you roll this. If it lands on the scarred side, you gain a critical failure on a checker saving throw made within the next 24 hours.
So if you get the face side, it's a critical success on what you're doing right now.
If you get the scarred side, it's a critical failure sometime in the next 24 hours.
This is determined on an odds or evens. Roll on every check for the rest of the day.
[01:08:02] Speaker C: But it's only one tune. Is it attunement?
[01:08:05] Speaker B: Nope.
No. If it's not specified, it's not attunement.
[01:08:10] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:08:10] Speaker D: I partner this with my other coin, and I have another coin that lets me just roll with advantage. Any roll.
[01:08:19] Speaker B: So if I roll this coins and gain the benefits of either one.
[01:08:25] Speaker D: Can I use that coin on the odds or evens roll from the coin that forces me to get in that one?
[01:08:34] Speaker B: Certainly dry.
[01:08:36] Speaker D: That'd be so much fun. I love this coin magic.
I got like five different coins that I'm like flipping in between.
[01:08:45] Speaker B: He's just juggling like it's all really about magic.
[01:08:47] Speaker C: And he's walking down the street accidentally, and he accidentally flips it to just a beggar on the street. And then all of a sudden, they get a crit fail and bad things have happened.
[01:08:58] Speaker B: He falls over. All the coins fall out of his pocket. He just sets on fire. Fire. And becomes also simultaneously wealthy.
Any other remaining there is the skeletal hand, the chains, the candle, the vial, the amphora, and the goblet.
[01:09:19] Speaker A: The candle place.
[01:09:23] Speaker B: You identify.
Please continue to mark off your spells. You identify. I was really.
This one.
A candle of projection.
When burned, the candle allows the person burning it to cast the astral projection spell.
[01:09:42] Speaker A: Oh.
[01:09:43] Speaker B: For as long as the candle burns? Up to eight hours. Wow. You can only cast it on yourself.
If the candle burns all the wax, the silver cord of astral projection is severed.
So astral projection is an eighth or ninth level spell that lets you go to other planes?
Actually, I think specifically the astral plane.
So it lets you send your soul to the astral plane. And if you're burning this candle, you can do that for as long as it burns. If you burn out all the wax, the cord that connects you to your soul.
[01:10:18] Speaker A: No.
Wow.
[01:10:25] Speaker C: What if somebody blows it out?
That doesn't do it.
[01:10:28] Speaker B: Spell just ends.
[01:10:29] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:10:34] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:10:35] Speaker B: You just come back.
[01:10:42] Speaker A: What was left? I'd like to do the amphora.
[01:10:45] Speaker B: Okay.
As you. So you. You go to identify the amphora as you pick it up, even before you identify it, holding it in your hands.
The one thing you gain as you hold it is you can feel there is actually a vibration in it. There's a rhythm to the aura from inside it is going.
[01:11:03] Speaker A: Oh, my God.
[01:11:04] Speaker C: No burn.
[01:11:12] Speaker A: I would like to identify it.
[01:11:15] Speaker B: You identify.
[01:11:16] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:11:16] Speaker B: The amphora of side S I H D E.
This. This item.
The person who opens the vessel is cursed.
[01:11:30] Speaker A: Oh.
[01:11:31] Speaker B: And is immediately hunted by a helmed horror. This Is a suit of armor that is living on its own.
If the opener is slain, the amphora reseals itself.
If the helm tourer is slain. It appears the next day at dawn and begins pursuing the opener again.
Forever.
[01:11:52] Speaker A: That's awful.
[01:11:55] Speaker C: Forever.
[01:11:56] Speaker A: His heart is in there.
[01:12:00] Speaker B: Don't know.
[01:12:02] Speaker A: That's crazy.
Yeah.
[01:12:07] Speaker B: A good gift for an enemy. If you were a very cruel person.
[01:12:10] Speaker C: Oh yeah.
[01:12:12] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:12:13] Speaker C: Rogos. We should send it to Biscuit.
[01:12:18] Speaker A: That poor man.
[01:12:20] Speaker C: Well, no, not really.
[01:12:24] Speaker B: All that remains is the goblet. You don't have to identify. I identify everything but the goblet.
The potion, the chains in the hand.
[01:12:36] Speaker A: I mean I can upcast identify, right?
[01:12:39] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:12:41] Speaker A: I will do that on second level on what should I do it on?
[01:12:50] Speaker B: Goblet potion. Hand goblet.
[01:12:52] Speaker A: I want to do the goblet. Oh, I'm sorry.
[01:12:55] Speaker B: You identify the goblet of Mithradates.
Drinking from the goblet grants the Bber protection from all poisons, including poison damage. You become immune to poison damage.
It also curses them.
This curse causes all consumed food and drink to taste and smell of ash.
[01:13:18] Speaker C: Oh.
[01:13:18] Speaker B: The afflicted must make a constitution saving throw every time they eat or drink, Vomiting everything they eat or drink on a failure.
[01:13:27] Speaker C: Forever.
[01:13:31] Speaker A: Then I have a question.
Would that.
Would that like if you failed enough times, would that like eventually like kill someone or like make them very, very safe?
[01:13:48] Speaker B: Okay, yeah. You could starve to death that way.
[01:13:50] Speaker A: Okay, that's crazy. This thing's crazy. Everything here's crazy.
[01:13:56] Speaker C: I have one more slot I can cast identify. I'll cast it on the vial of weird fluid.
[01:14:08] Speaker A: Oh wait. If you drink out of the goblet, that happens?
[01:14:12] Speaker B: Yes.
[01:14:13] Speaker A: Wow. So if you do.
[01:14:16] Speaker B: A potion of persistence O the bber gains the benefits of the death ward spell.
That's it.
[01:14:26] Speaker C: Interesting. Wait, what is the death ward spell?
[01:14:29] Speaker B: It's in the player's handbook. Basically you cast it on someone and when they die or when they would fall to zero hit points, they instead go to one hit point.
[01:14:36] Speaker A: Oh wow.
[01:14:37] Speaker C: How long does it last?
[01:14:40] Speaker B: It's in the player's handbook.
[01:14:41] Speaker A: Okay, but it's it. It's actually cursed and it's an evil one hit point and it's an evil you can never leave.
And anytime you reach one hit point, you vomit a little bit of blood and then you go to zero hit points.
[01:14:56] Speaker C: Okay, well I think we should ro puts that in her pocket.
[01:15:01] Speaker B: Okay. Put it in your invent.
[01:15:05] Speaker D: The death.
[01:15:05] Speaker B: Word spell is eight hours.
[01:15:06] Speaker C: Okay, cool.
[01:15:08] Speaker A: Wow, wow wow wow wow.
[01:15:14] Speaker C: We might need to feed that to Greta sometime before our next fight.
[01:15:20] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:15:23] Speaker B: What items do you take and which ones do you leave? Actually, just tell me, which ones do you take? I assume you leave everything else.
[01:15:32] Speaker A: I mean, I think we should take it all because we can sell it to Kanje. Right.
Or at least, like, give it to her, because this shop is going to be looted otherwise. And, you know, I don't know.
[01:15:44] Speaker C: Was that diadem attunement required?
[01:15:48] Speaker A: No, it wasn't.
[01:15:50] Speaker C: So as long as I don't look through it, it won't attract ghosts.
I mean, as long as I don't wear it.
It's a wearing thing, right?
[01:15:59] Speaker B: Not sure.
[01:16:00] Speaker C: We don't.
[01:16:01] Speaker B: I don't really take the broom.
[01:16:04] Speaker D: Yeah.
[01:16:06] Speaker B: Okay. Boz has the broom of the dusk witch. Right.
[01:16:08] Speaker D: Now, if I attach a knife to the end, could I make it into, like, a flying jousting pole?
[01:16:15] Speaker B: You could certainly try a flying broom and just duct tape a butter knife on the end.
[01:16:22] Speaker D: No, no. I was thinking, like, the giant, like, Lance thing that we got from the guy.
[01:16:26] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:16:27] Speaker D: Just like, put it on there and just 40ft per round.
[01:16:31] Speaker B: Just.
[01:16:32] Speaker D: That would do. That's a lot of damage now.
[01:16:35] Speaker B: That's a lot of damage. Yes.
[01:16:37] Speaker C: Jackie, is Miscore's body laying there.
[01:16:41] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:16:45] Speaker C: I would like to cast cut on her hand to sever it off.
Like, I want to cut her hand off.
[01:16:56] Speaker B: Sick. Rose, you play the chord four or five times because it's not. It's not enough. Levonis, you just.
[01:17:01] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:17:05] Speaker B: Her hand comes off and you pull it away.
[01:17:10] Speaker C: Well, I take a rag or like, I find a rag or something.
[01:17:13] Speaker B: Absolutely. I go, as you wrap it in a cloth. Yeah, yeah.
[01:17:17] Speaker C: I I.
[01:17:19] Speaker B: It's so long.
It's such a big, long hand. I the digits all together with the palm are the length of your hand, your forearm, and halfway up your upper arm.
[01:17:33] Speaker C: Okay. Didn't the little monkey sit on a sign?
[01:17:37] Speaker B: He sat on a. On a barrel outside.
[01:17:40] Speaker C: Oh, on a barrel. Okay. I go, I. I peek outside.
[01:17:44] Speaker B: Okay. There's a whole crowd of people looking at you.
[01:17:46] Speaker C: Yeah. I say, I say I just kind of motion to kind of back up.
[01:17:52] Speaker B: Everybody takes about 10 or 15ft.
[01:17:55] Speaker C: I take the hand, I plop it down on the barrel.
[01:17:58] Speaker B: Everyone gasps, there's a bunch of whispering.
[01:18:00] Speaker C: And I say, miskor is dead by the fun. Guys, do not enter this building or anywhere near it for the rest of your days.
[01:18:16] Speaker A: Oh, wow, bro.
[01:18:18] Speaker B: Give me a persuasion or an intimidation check at advantage.
[01:18:22] Speaker C: And she says it a little cooler than she sounds. Cooler than me.
[01:18:26] Speaker B: The crowd is Gasping and muttering did.
[01:18:29] Speaker C: You say at advantage?
[01:18:32] Speaker B: Your choice of persuasion or intelligence.
[01:18:34] Speaker C: Persuasion. What do I got here? Oh, well, they're both the same, so, you know, I'll do persuasion.
That's an 18.
No, I'm sorry, 19.
[01:18:49] Speaker B: Everyone looks sufficiently motivated at this time. Everyone's taking you very seriously. I mean, again, there's still a couple people in the crowd. You're like, they look like hungrily curious of the door. I mean, it's a big city.
[01:19:02] Speaker C: I narrow my eyes at them.
They just look, and then I. And then I close the door back and I'm back inside.
[01:19:09] Speaker B: Okay, anyone taking any other items?
[01:19:19] Speaker D: I.
I. I call. Oh, man.
If we leave this place, they're definitely coming in here and taking everything as soon as we leave.
I.
[01:19:34] Speaker A: Ooh.
[01:19:36] Speaker D: I'm less concerned. I'm less concerned about them coming in here and taking things and more concerned with them coming in here with a portal to the Shadow fell in the back.
[01:19:45] Speaker C: Well, let's just burn it. Can we just burn the place? Will this. Will it.
Will it go to the ground?
[01:19:51] Speaker D: Sure, we can try. I say let's do it.
[01:19:53] Speaker C: Can I do an arcana check? Let's burn it would work.
[01:19:56] Speaker D: Let's.
[01:19:57] Speaker C: Let's start a big fire to start a fire. If it would burn like the gate.
[01:20:02] Speaker A: Let me do a list of the. Of the items first so I can know what I take.
[01:20:07] Speaker D: I have a bunch of fire spells. I could start one real fast.
[01:20:11] Speaker B: Goblet of Mithridates. I have Trog. Redeer.
[01:20:14] Speaker A: Oh, my gosh.
Okay, I'm gonna take.
[01:20:19] Speaker D: How about.
[01:20:20] Speaker B: Oh, go ahead, go ahead.
[01:20:21] Speaker A: Goblet.
I.
What else?
[01:20:26] Speaker D: Actually, no. All my fire spells are out because of my spell slots. But if we do a. If we do a long rest then in here, then I will.
[01:20:34] Speaker A: Perfect.
[01:20:34] Speaker C: Curl up next to me. Score's body.
[01:20:38] Speaker D: We've slept in most places.
[01:20:40] Speaker B: Okay, so, Greta, you're taking the. The curse first Goblet. The eye that you carve out.
[01:20:45] Speaker A: Yep.
[01:20:46] Speaker B: Ro has the diadem.
Yeah, you guys can put these in your channels or something later.
[01:20:52] Speaker C: Yeah. And the potion.
[01:20:54] Speaker B: And she has the potion.
You already took the bro. The brooch.
[01:20:58] Speaker D: Greta, I take the orb. Scrying orb. Because I don't have one.
[01:21:03] Speaker B: Okay, Boz, you have a scrying orb set in a human skull.
Please specify that it's Mi. Scores Orb.
[01:21:11] Speaker C: We didn't identify that.
[01:21:15] Speaker A: I feel like that needs its own legend lore.
[01:21:22] Speaker B: An amphora.
There's the amphora.
[01:21:25] Speaker A: I'm not taking that. I am not. I'm not taking that.
[01:21:27] Speaker B: No, absolutely, absolutely. There's the hangman's tie. The noose that almost killed you three times.
[01:21:33] Speaker A: No, I'm good, actually.
[01:21:34] Speaker B: The candle of projection.
[01:21:36] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm taking that.
[01:21:37] Speaker C: That's kind of cool. Yeah. Are you taking that, Abs?
[01:21:40] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:21:41] Speaker B: Put the candle projection in your inventory.
[01:21:43] Speaker A: You guys can have it.
[01:21:44] Speaker C: No, you can have it.
[01:21:45] Speaker B: Ro already took the potion of persistence.
Boz grabbed the broom of the dusk witch.
I mean, a flying broom is pretty great.
[01:21:53] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:21:54] Speaker B: Boss took the orb. There's the faded coin.
[01:21:58] Speaker A: Yeah, I'll take.
[01:21:58] Speaker D: Boss takes the coin.
That's unless I'll grab it. Anybody can have it.
[01:22:03] Speaker A: Yeah, no, you can have a buzz.
[01:22:05] Speaker D: I think we should take the noose.
[01:22:09] Speaker C: I'm not touching that thing.
[01:22:11] Speaker A: You take the news.
[01:22:12] Speaker C: You didn't get hung by it.
[01:22:14] Speaker A: Yeah, no hard feelings if you take the news, but I am not taking it.
[01:22:20] Speaker B: Buzz, you take the news.
[01:22:21] Speaker D: Yes.
[01:22:22] Speaker B: Okay. It's called the hangman's necktie.
[01:22:25] Speaker C: We're just walking around with curse up our butts now.
[01:22:32] Speaker B: And then. The. The hand and the chains are still unidentified, so they're just there.
[01:22:37] Speaker D: And what was the 2 inch ivory brooch?
[01:22:38] Speaker B: What was that one again?
Broach of the Blythe. Greta.
[01:22:41] Speaker C: We're giving that to Nifty. Yeah, I have one.
[01:22:45] Speaker A: I don't know.
[01:22:46] Speaker C: I have one more spell slot if. Boz. If you want to identify the.
[01:22:52] Speaker A: Have more. Also the. I'll do the hand if you do the chains.
[01:22:56] Speaker C: Okay, but do we need to identify the. The globe?
I'm worried about him taking her orb.
[01:23:04] Speaker D: We can identify the orb.
[01:23:05] Speaker C: What do you want? What do you want?
[01:23:06] Speaker D: I think the one would be good.
[01:23:09] Speaker C: Okay, I'm identifying the orb.
[01:23:10] Speaker B: All three are identified. I'm gonna read them now.
[01:23:12] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:23:13] Speaker B: Miscore Scrying orb.
Misty glass orb set into the. The hollowed skull of a human.
When you SCRY through it, the eyes bleed.
[01:23:23] Speaker C: Oh, of course they do.
[01:23:26] Speaker B: The orb imposes a negative one to saving throws made by the creatures you're rolling a SCRY against.
So whenever someone saves against this, they have one. Worse.
It does appear to be cursed.
[01:23:45] Speaker C: Do we know in what way? It just feels very cursed.
Okay.
[01:23:50] Speaker A: At least a major curse.
[01:23:54] Speaker C: Okay.
[01:23:55] Speaker B: You identify the severed hand. This is a helping, a helping hand.
A disembodied, sentient hand which understands you, and if pleased to do so, obeys your commands. The hand is a movement of 30, a dex of 15, strength of 3, a con of 10, intelligence of 10, wisdom of 10, and a charisma of 6.
[01:24:15] Speaker C: Oh, Ro loves this.
She wants to Be best friends with it. Is it cursed?
[01:24:20] Speaker B: It does not appear to be.
[01:24:22] Speaker C: Guys cannot.
[01:24:24] Speaker B: There could be curses.
[01:24:26] Speaker D: Important notice is that it did not help me score in her fight.
[01:24:30] Speaker C: So maybe it's good. It's got a heart of gold.
[01:24:33] Speaker D: I don't know if it's good. I don't think you have to be very good to just not help.
I feel like it's like the bars in hell.
[01:24:40] Speaker C: I'll. I'll hold on to it and we'll have Kanache look at it. I will not use it until it's looked at.
[01:24:46] Speaker B: Put the. Put the helping hand in your inventory please, Ro.
And then lastly, you all identified the last option or item was the Ignatius chains.
Heavy set of iron chains are the set of connected locks and a key. The key is. Is like tied to it with string.
When the lock of the chains is cloned is closed, the chain heats dealing D6 fire damage to any object it touches. And three D6 fire damage to any object around which it is fully bound.
It unheats and cools again if it is unlocked or broken.
[01:25:21] Speaker D: So it's a torture device. It's a torture device.
[01:25:25] Speaker A: Oh, I was thinking we could like break a door with it.
[01:25:29] Speaker D: No, that you break up. You break a mind with that actually.
And a mind can open many doors.
[01:25:35] Speaker B: So we leave it.
[01:25:36] Speaker A: I feel like we should take that.
[01:25:38] Speaker C: I feel like we could. I don't all of this into the Shadowfell Gate.
[01:25:42] Speaker A: I'm thinking to sell it to Kanajay.
[01:25:46] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:25:46] Speaker D: I.
I don't want to know what happens to this.
[01:25:49] Speaker B: I'm very happy with leaving it by bought by Landon being like chains are way overboard. And then he sees the necktie and he's like, no, that's my jam.
[01:25:57] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:25:58] Speaker D: A noose.
[01:25:58] Speaker B: I don't know. It's just funny.
[01:26:00] Speaker D: No, I want to take the noose.
[01:26:01] Speaker B: Away so that no one can have it. Yeah.
[01:26:05] Speaker D: I don't want people here to have this.
[01:26:08] Speaker B: I'm just kidding.
[01:26:08] Speaker D: I'm just kidding. I mean the chains are bad, but they're also so heavy. Like I feel like I'd have to justify all the things I'm carrying.
[01:26:13] Speaker B: Actually hold on. A point I'd like to make. The chains are like 30 or 40 pounds.
[01:26:17] Speaker C: Okay. So that'd be hard for someone to take anyways.
[01:26:19] Speaker A: Okay. Dm, help me out.
[01:26:22] Speaker D: Know it would be hard to take with 14 other items, but I think a regular person could probably pick up 30 pounds worth of chains.
[01:26:29] Speaker A: My. My 5x5 pocket is 1, 3 full.
My.
[01:26:36] Speaker B: Let's do this.
Let's do this. We're trying to close soon.
I don't. I. If we, if we sit here and sift through this to kind of take a lot of time, but let's talk about. About this later. Like, let's talk about this on Sunday, because I would like to sit. I. I'm willing to bet we're really approaching full on this cloak. So I think if we sit down and break and figure out what are the things you actually do and don't have, we could talk about where we're at with the clip, but let's talk about that on Sunday.
[01:27:01] Speaker A: Okay, cool.
I like that plan.
[01:27:05] Speaker C: So I say we.
[01:27:09] Speaker A: We.
[01:27:09] Speaker C: I could. I could prestidigitate and light up a torch and burn her body and just let the fire go and start burning this place. We could go get a stay at an inn for the night, and then after we all have a rest, I could teleport us out of here. Or you could tree us.
Do we want to do that and.
[01:27:32] Speaker A: Sure.
[01:27:33] Speaker C: Call it a day.
Okay.
She grabs a.
She, like, makes a torch out of a piece of wood and a. Yeah, it's not cloth. Yeah.
[01:27:44] Speaker B: You pick up the. The last end of a candle in here, and as you, as you play a single on your note, there's a little.
And it lights. And as you set the edge of her cloak, it.
[01:27:54] Speaker C: I go anywhere it catch.
[01:27:58] Speaker B: Her body catches weirdly quickly as she, like.
[01:28:05] Speaker C: Evil will do that to you.
[01:28:07] Speaker B: She says as you all slide an inch by, you walk out the door and you close the door to Madam Escort Shop, perhaps for the last time, as you all walk away. The crowd is still gathered there. They've dispersed a little, but people are still watching. Oh, this is a crowd.
[01:28:25] Speaker C: And I go, what did I tell you all?
[01:28:28] Speaker B: I mean, they're giving it room, but everybody's staring and watching, and there's whispers and people turning to say, like, what happened here? What did you all do?
You know, I mean, like, it's just. It's just a fascinating crowd. There's three or four hundred people now gathering, like, at distance. And you all stand there for four or five seconds before all of you hear, and you look back, and there's a massive fracture up the front of the building then.
And the door on the front splinters. And the whole building starts to.
And people start moving back, and slowly but surely, the entire building.
[01:29:12] Speaker A: Folds.
[01:29:13] Speaker B: And I.
Swallows in on itself.
[01:29:18] Speaker D: Zach, I, I.
Yeah, sorry. I felt like that happened a little bit too fast.
Boz was not going to leave the building without Searching Miscore's body.
I didn't realize we were all leaving the building right then and there.
[01:29:38] Speaker C: Well, that's what I said when everybody.
[01:29:40] Speaker B: Said we're going out of the building now.
[01:29:42] Speaker D: Maybe it's 1:00am I mean, it's 1:30 for me right now, but.
[01:29:45] Speaker B: Boss, would you like to retroactively have certain purged her body?
[01:29:49] Speaker D: Yes, boss. Boss would not have left without doing that.
[01:29:53] Speaker B: Give me. Give me a check. That's a little investigating.
[01:29:56] Speaker D: That is his 18.
[01:29:59] Speaker A: Brave of you.
[01:30:00] Speaker B: It's a good check.
[01:30:01] Speaker C: Yeah. Brave of you. I didn't touch her.
[01:30:06] Speaker B: It's partially a high DC high DC because it is a mess. It's a revolting mess.
She is a corpse in the worst way.
She was a little bit like a corpse when she was alive.
There's not a ton to search. She is largely naked under the robe.
But, Boz, you do find a leather belt strung around her.
The leather is unpleasantly soft and corded to it.
You find a number of bones.
[01:30:42] Speaker D: I'm looking specifically for anything that would control the Bazorzal bass.
[01:30:46] Speaker B: You find a leather pouch.
The pouch appears to be filled with different teeth.
You find a vial, a very, very small vial of just clear liquid.
You find a different bag. Absolutely. Filled with hair.
All different hair. Mine.
[01:31:08] Speaker D: Does it have mine in there?
[01:31:11] Speaker B: Give me, give me. This is an incredibly high dc, but give me, like, would.
[01:31:14] Speaker C: You know.
[01:31:16] Speaker A: I'm helping him. I cast guidance on him and I'm helping him.
[01:31:20] Speaker C: You guys are gross. You're going through hair advantage and guidance.
[01:31:24] Speaker D: I got a 16 on my. On the. With advantage, so.
No, no, no. Wait, wait, wait. I think I have a plus one.
I have a plus one. So 17 on advantage. So if I roll three on the guidance, then I get it and I got a two.
[01:31:39] Speaker B: Okay, 19. It's a real mess, and it's hard to tell, boss.
You do find around her neck a leather cord that has nothing hanging from it. It looked like something hung from it once something was taken off of it and it was retouching tied just as a cord.
And then lastly, you find on the hand. Greta didn't cut off a ring.
Sorry. The RO cut off a copper ring set with a single human tooth.
[01:32:15] Speaker C: Is that how hags propose marriage?
She was.
[01:32:24] Speaker D: I do take the ring and I want to take the.
[01:32:26] Speaker B: Do you have Greta identified? Greta, do you have any remaining spell slots?
[01:32:30] Speaker A: Yeah, I do.
[01:32:31] Speaker B: Okay. Before you've left and taken your items and clashed the building, you can put this in your inventory. Boss, this is the band of perpetual Sorrow.
Band of perpetual sorrow.
There is a mortal soul long bound to this ring, tormented forever to exist as a monster made from himself and the steed he rode.
This is the ring that controls the Bezorzil Best.
[01:33:07] Speaker C: That's why he's got a horse neck.
Oh, no.
[01:33:12] Speaker A: That's really sad. Was that Regan's idea?
[01:33:17] Speaker B: She just gave me a drawing. I made everything.
[01:33:19] Speaker A: Reagan Lee Williams.
[01:33:23] Speaker B: I'm seeing her on Sunday.
[01:33:25] Speaker A: Me too.
[01:33:27] Speaker B: That item is a tr.
[01:33:29] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:33:31] Speaker D: Cool.
And I want to take all the hair. And I want to druid flame it. I want to burn it up. Burn up, burn up my hair hair.
[01:33:42] Speaker C: Somebody's hair with her.
[01:33:44] Speaker D: I make sure it does.
[01:33:45] Speaker C: Okay?
[01:33:47] Speaker D: And I want to take a scrap of her cloak. I want to cut a piece of her cloth.
[01:33:54] Speaker B: Put a. Put a scrap of Me Score cloak in your inventory.
[01:33:57] Speaker D: Okay?
[01:33:58] Speaker C: Then I burn it.
[01:34:01] Speaker D: Me score.
I'm Gucci. I want to look at her for a long time.
And for a long time.
Three minutes doesn't seem like a long time.
[01:34:15] Speaker A: A long time, that is when you're standing.
[01:34:18] Speaker D: It's a long time.
[01:34:20] Speaker C: And Rose holding the torch, waiting.
She's like.
[01:34:25] Speaker A: She's like looking at the.
[01:34:26] Speaker B: You have to keep moving the candle from hand to hand because it's burning more wax. And you're like, ow, ow. I can't.
[01:34:34] Speaker D: Yeah, this is good.
[01:34:36] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:34:39] Speaker D: And then I walk out.
[01:34:43] Speaker B: All right.
Crash, crash, crash. Okay. The building has. The building has imploded and you all have left it. And the party stands there in the street and you all watch as the building crashes and crashes and crashes and crashes and it continues to fold and crumble and the movements get less dramatic eventually, but it's like the stones are falling into the ground.
And eventually all that is Left is the 10 foot space in between the two other buildings.
The stone alley, a bunch of rubble from where the building used to be. And a little crack in the building on the opposite side.
[01:35:26] Speaker A: One.
[01:35:26] Speaker C: No.
[01:35:28] Speaker B: You're hair wide.
[01:35:30] Speaker C: It's like Stranger Things. Somebody's going to open that gate.
[01:35:35] Speaker A: A finger. All it takes is.
[01:35:40] Speaker B: Okay.
And as the crowd looks amazed and the party, like gets away from them and finds an end in town. Takes a long why did I tell you? And And a night's sleep.
We will call. Call that the end of episode 165.
The party gains another 0.04. 0.04 levels because you can go to Shadow.
[01:36:00] Speaker D: We found the dragon. Don't forget the dragon.
[01:36:03] Speaker C: 04.
[01:36:04] Speaker B: Yes.
[01:36:06] Speaker A: Yeah. Give us some points for the dragon.
[01:36:08] Speaker C: Yeah, I looked it in the eye.
I looked it in the eye. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[01:36:15] Speaker A: Good. Seven.
[01:36:19] Speaker C: Okay, guys, we are at 14.815.
Getting real close to 50 special guys. When I get to level 15, I can give you guys D12 BIC inspirations.
[01:36:40] Speaker A: That is okay.
[01:36:40] Speaker B: It is very late. We are at our. We are at our stop time 12:30. So we want to wrap up.
Listener. Life is an incredible.
[01:36:48] Speaker A: Life is an incredible.
And you're a very important part of it.
[01:36:52] Speaker B: You're a very important part of it. We'll see you next time.
Skibidi, Wapin, Dada.
Bye. We started putting in the Craig command. Okay, here we go.
