[00:00:00] Speaker A: Welcome back to the Barely DD podcast. You're shorter. Dungeons and Dragons podcast. There goes my words. But I wasn't good with that. But here we are. It's your friend Zach. Oh, it's me. [00:00:14] Speaker B: What? [00:00:14] Speaker A: But I am Zach. I don't know. I'm Zack, but. No, I'm Zack. [00:00:19] Speaker B: No, I'm Zach. [00:00:21] Speaker A: And today I'm not your dungeon master. Now, you might be thinking listener. Oh, well, Daniel's here. He might be your dungeon master. Nope. No, I couldn't. I could be either, believe it or not. Noah, could you introduce yourself anyway? Yes. It's also not Noah. Abby, you want to introduce yourself? [00:00:37] Speaker B: Hi. [00:00:38] Speaker A: She's also not the dm. [00:00:39] Speaker B: Whoa. [00:00:40] Speaker A: Micah. [00:00:42] Speaker B: I'm not here. [00:00:44] Speaker A: Okay, she's also not the DM Dungeon master. Would you introduce yourself? [00:00:48] Speaker B: Hi, I'm Jackie. I'm the DM. [00:00:51] Speaker A: Special dm Special DM Jackie. [00:00:55] Speaker B: Mother. Hi, guys. [00:00:59] Speaker A: No, like, I'm serious. [00:01:02] Speaker B: Welcome. I am terrified. This is my first time ever. DMing. [00:01:07] Speaker A: Okay. You'll be great. You should know it's pronounced dimming. If you're. [00:01:11] Speaker B: Landon told me that it was his idea that I dm, but I think he might have been gaslighting me with that. [00:01:16] Speaker A: It's. I love that guy. But seriously, he gaslights us sometimes. [00:01:19] Speaker B: I was like, wait, was it his idea? He buys for fun. We love you. We love you. How do you. How do you start? How do we start? [00:01:27] Speaker A: I don't know. You're the dungeon master. It's you that you started reading when I did it. [00:01:31] Speaker B: Okay. [00:01:32] Speaker A: Yes. [00:01:33] Speaker B: How are we gonna do a letter question? [00:01:35] Speaker A: Well, we didn't discuss that at all. You're not recording through that? [00:01:40] Speaker B: Wait, can we please. Sure. So are we answering as characters or as. [00:01:49] Speaker A: As your character for the One Shot? [00:01:50] Speaker B: As our characters or as our other characters? As our characters from the One Shot By. This is a one shot in a world that I created. Also, Diggle is here. He is my co. DM. [00:02:10] Speaker A: I just want to point out it's 7pm and Micah's already starting to get a little sleepy. She's already doing the slow box. [00:02:17] Speaker B: Mike, are you sleepy? Don't gaslight me. Don't gaslight her because it will become gas. Boss. [00:02:21] Speaker A: Gatelight girl. [00:02:22] Speaker B: Gaslight girl. I'm trying to think of a question. Okay. We don't have to do. We don't have to do one. It's a family. [00:02:28] Speaker A: What if we go. [00:02:28] Speaker B: I think we don't. [00:02:31] Speaker A: What if it was. [00:02:31] Speaker B: We can do one maybe on the second. [00:02:33] Speaker A: What if it was. If your character was Jackie Would they be vegan? [00:02:38] Speaker B: Yes. [00:02:39] Speaker A: We could do that. Okay. Daniel, if your character was Jackie, would they be vegan? I don't think so. He worships dragons, and dragons aren't. No, no, no. But if your character wants Jackie, dragons are weak. I don't think Jackie would worship dragons. No, no. Right. But if your character. [00:02:56] Speaker B: I like this. What you're saying is that if your character was Jackie, your conviction to dragons would be more than your convictions to veganism. [00:03:06] Speaker A: Exactly. Okay, right, exactly. But if your character was exactly Jackie, would they be vegan? Hold on. Jackie. Jackie. This is the letter question. If her character was exactly Jackie, would they be veganism? [00:03:16] Speaker B: We believe in veganism. [00:03:21] Speaker A: Did you guys ever. For a grown up who's just a little bit too Christian. Micah just did that with veganism. Anyway, I think it's all you. [00:03:37] Speaker B: Yeah. Oh. I want to point out before we get started that for those of you here or on the Patreon that are very. We might post it, maybe the video, but maybe not. But it depends on Zach. [00:03:51] Speaker A: If we don't, it's a problem. [00:03:54] Speaker B: I got a tattoo that said vap. It went, and it was a lie. And I feel really bad about it because Zach was really. He was so happy, and I didn't expect that reaction. I expected like, oh, my gosh, I can't believe you actually did that. We were expecting, like. Yeah. And he was like, oh, that's awesome. [00:04:12] Speaker A: Yeah. How unexpected that your friend got excited when you permanently marked your body with a remembrance of your shared experience together. [00:04:18] Speaker B: Well, it'll be there for about a month. So anyway, so I guess let's start. Okay. So I have several working titles for this one shot, and I'm gonna go with. What am I gonna go with? Oh, my gosh. I have to write. How do you take notes while you dm? Oh, my God. [00:04:36] Speaker A: Oh, sparingly. Not often. Yeah, not often. Like you. [00:04:39] Speaker B: You write down. [00:04:41] Speaker A: You write down the combat stuff and then, like, key details. [00:04:44] Speaker B: Okay. [00:04:45] Speaker A: I just want to point out how fun it is that today you're the DM and I'm the note taking. [00:04:48] Speaker B: I'm scared and terrified. I haven't slept all week. [00:04:53] Speaker A: Yeah. And then Jackie died. It was a crazy one shot. [00:04:57] Speaker B: What do you mean? [00:04:59] Speaker A: Lay low for a while. [00:05:02] Speaker B: You can just put it over there and we'll do it later. So there was a few different titles. I kind of mixed up a bunch of things together. And we're going with the Village beyond the Woods. That's a perfect combo. Yeah. Which I know how to write that on my sheets. How do you speak and write at the same time? I'm usually telling Zach to hold on while I write. [00:05:35] Speaker A: Okay. [00:05:38] Speaker B: So. Yeah, so I guess we'll start. This is a level five adventure. And the year for the note taking nerds is 1521 STC, which stands for Most people know this in the world. You're copying my judging your nerves. STC stands for since the change, which I realize now sounds like like a. [00:06:15] Speaker A: Very close to something else. [00:06:17] Speaker B: Like a. Like a woman that has gone through menopause. It's been this many years since the change. [00:06:22] Speaker A: That's not what I thought. That's where your brain. [00:06:24] Speaker B: Oh, that's where my brain went. [00:06:26] Speaker A: Literally not one letter off from somebody else. [00:06:28] Speaker B: Oh, okay. Well, maybe I'm just not like you guys. What? Jackie, do you have something sth Are you experiencing? No. How old do you think I am, Abby? Early onset. Excuse me? Alzheimer's. I'm just saying, I just found me having early onset menopause all the time. Anyway, so It's a level five. This is a level five adventure at set of the year 1521 SDC. This is gonna be in the town of Sun Valley, which is a port town about 200 miles across the Citrine Sea from the main kingdom of this world. [00:07:13] Speaker A: This is so fun. [00:07:15] Speaker B: So. So do you guys want to know a little bit about the world first or do I? Do I? I really got to get into it because I'm like. [00:07:30] Speaker A: Give us whatever part of this would make you feel like you were entering the experience, okay? We know nothing about it. [00:07:35] Speaker B: Well, you all have received a mysterious letter that seemingly just appeared out of nowhere. There was no postage, no return name or address. You can't even remember if someone dropped it off to you. It just showed up on your desk or at home, your place of work. The letter has informed you that a weird blight is affecting their town in the east, the Cinderstown. This piques your interest because the realm with which you live in, due to its wealth of magic, hasn't really seen much sickness throughout the lands and many years. [00:08:15] Speaker A: Cinders Town. [00:08:18] Speaker B: Yeah. The person that wrote the. That wrote the letter. Yeah. Whether it's out of the goodness of your heart, your intrigue of adventure in the otherwise almost fully monsterless and sicklessness world. Sicknessless world. Or because of the promise of a reward, each of you will head to a place in Sun Valley. I'll read the letter here in a minute. At the date and time specified. And this is going to be taking place exactly 14 days from you receiving the letter? So a little bit about the world. Okay. The realm within which you live in has long been simply called the realm. Legends say there used to be a name for our world, but now that it is mostly cut off from whatever else is out there beyond the great island and the continent, you just refer to it as the realm. Would anyone, while I'm saying this. Me. There's one person at this table who does know. But would anyone like to do a history check to see if your character knows the name of the realm? [00:09:29] Speaker A: I don't know it. [00:09:30] Speaker B: Well, you want to try it? You want to try? I got a four. [00:09:36] Speaker A: It's gonna be a 17. [00:09:39] Speaker B: My gosh, there's so many places. Oh, no. We don't even know your character's yet, and we're already doing a check. Probably shouldn't have done that, but that's okay. [00:09:48] Speaker A: No, that's okay. [00:09:48] Speaker B: An eight? Yeah. Okay, so we have four, eight, and 17. I saw that. Oh, well, Daniel doesn't have to roll. Cause he already knows his character knows it. Do you not want to roll? [00:09:57] Speaker A: You didn't have to out him. I don't know. [00:09:59] Speaker B: Okay. Noah, your character is like. It starts with A. It's on A. Could be your tongue. I think it starts with a D. I heard a family member say it one time, but I can't really remember it. Okay. Within this realm you live in, you know that magical changes occurred about 1500 years ago, hence the year 1521. The world has an abundance of magic, and a good majority of the population is magically inclined or at least descended from magic. No one knows or whether can't agree on exactly where the magic has come from that blesses the realm. But obviously, they aren't complaining. Clerics and paladins give credit to gods of new, while scholars and wizards seek to prove the school of magics come from a deeper source within the very fabric of our beings. The High Druids believe that the lands are overflowing with magic, coming from deep within the earth beneath our feet and from powers long ago. Monsters are not very common where humanoids tend to reside, on the continent that Sun Valley is on, or the populous island kingdom of Tarquin. Many tales have been told of monster sightings in the Badlands, hence the name. But as far as the forest to the east of Sun Valley, nothing but wild animals and the occasional beast can be found on the outskirts of town. In the last 500 years, only a handful of attacks on humans have been documented. And again, no one knows why. But also no one is complaining, so this one shot is. You're starting in Sun Valley. Each of you received a letter that said, to whom it may concern, your sucker is requested. As my village has been inflicted with a terrible blight. I'm writing to you specifically, as I've been told you possess the skills and knowledge to help figure out this mystery plaguing us. Please meet at the Red Brick Tavern in Sun Valley one fortnight from receiving the summons. Thank you, truly. And then the note is ripped before you can see who it's from. So we're starting in Sun Valley at this point. We can go around and introduce your characters and I guess also tell me where you're from, so I know if you're just getting off of a strip or something or like that. [00:12:26] Speaker A: Yes, sir, Dungeon Master. [00:12:28] Speaker B: Yes, sir. [00:12:28] Speaker A: One of the players is just showing other players videos of brick rolls. [00:12:31] Speaker B: What are you doing? Ricky was looking at the maps. The great town of Brick Roll. Yeah. Located in Sun Valley. [00:12:40] Speaker A: You want us to. [00:12:41] Speaker B: Where we are, introduce our characters? So. Yeah, I guess so. Because I don't know where you guys are, I guess, in terms of should. [00:12:50] Speaker A: We go in order of who's the most ginger? [00:12:53] Speaker B: That would make you the least of these. [00:12:56] Speaker A: Brothers of mine. [00:12:57] Speaker B: How about. Okay, how about one more thing? I'll give you a description of Sun Valley so you can tell me where your character's starting at. Cool. [00:13:03] Speaker A: Okay. [00:13:04] Speaker B: So Sun Valley is a bustling, bumbling town of about 4,000 people. It's a port town that exports to the island kingdom and its suburbs. Many crops and fruits and florals come from Sun Valley because of the abundance of it and how wonderful the northern Druidic community keeps all of it. It even stays fresh on long journeys. A lot of farmers and fishermen live here, but somehow it's kind of become the barred capital of the realm. Sun Valley is a very small but dense town. There are only a few streets, and the main thorough way, called the Strip, is alive at all hours of the day. It's lined with tavern after tavern, and bards can be found on each corner, busking and performing in and out of venues, doing sleight of hand, magic, singing stand up. Even the occasional juggler or mime can be seen. The small town is home to 13 taverns due to the great and sheer number of bards that need a place to perform their acts. Also, how do you guys do this? It's so weird, like talking and then watching you guys. Also, many bards have come here on tour, fell in love with the climate, and decided to stay and open their own tavern. There are currently five more taverns under construction being built at this very moment. So just so you guys know, y' all were told to meet at the Red Tavern. The Red Brick Tavern. There are currently 13 taverns and five being built. Wow. So, yes, Noah, what does busking mean? [00:14:34] Speaker A: I don't know. [00:14:34] Speaker B: Busking, it means performing on the street. [00:14:37] Speaker A: Okay. [00:14:38] Speaker B: For money. For money. I've busked a lot in my time. [00:14:42] Speaker A: Busked? [00:14:43] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah. Cool. [00:14:44] Speaker A: Okay, awesome. [00:14:46] Speaker B: Yeah, busking is. You're on the street. Oh, also the letter. I forgot to mention this. The reward says money and property in our town. So would y' all like to go in order and tell everyone who your character is and maybe where they are in the town? If they just got here, if they're from here and they know where to go, all that good stuff. [00:15:12] Speaker A: Me, I can start. [00:15:13] Speaker B: Who wants to start? [00:15:14] Speaker A: I think we're starting with the most ginger. Okay. My name is Kroll. I am a Torto Druid from the Druid. No boss with Stacy. I'm from the Druidic lands in the North. I love this. And he's a big Turtle. He's about 6 foot 8, 500 pounds. He's very close to the end of his life, but he's still going out, finding the mysteries of life exciting and lovely. He's turquoise in color, and his big, big shell is what gives him a lot of his height because it's just continuing to grow, even though his insides are slowly forming more towards the ground. And he's just going around with a stick, walking. He's got, like, a very stoic demeanor. He's kind of just letting people live the way they live, looking and watching busking people and flipping a copper every once in a while when they sing a song he likes or they're singing in Draconic that he really likes. And he's just moving around, and I think he's trying to find this red brick in. And maybe he has found it, but he's just walking around it until he can see a bunch of people going in at one time. He doesn't want to be alone. [00:16:36] Speaker B: Okay, how do you spell your character's name? [00:16:38] Speaker A: Krul is K R U L, L Crull. [00:16:43] Speaker B: Have you come to Sun Valley often? [00:16:46] Speaker A: Probably not very often. Kroll is a man of the lands, and he has a budding relationship with a very fun person in the north that I don't know anyone, if anyone else knows about, so I'm not gonna ruin that. But he's gonna just keep to himself most of the time. He might say something nice to someone while they're walking by. Like an old man who's trying to be kind. But maybe it's a little too weird that he's just randomly calling out different things. But he doesn't. [00:17:15] Speaker B: Okay, awesome. No. [00:17:20] Speaker A: Malintoscobble is a forest gnome druid who is here with a very close companion of his. [00:17:30] Speaker B: Very close companion. [00:17:32] Speaker A: Some would say 250 years. [00:17:35] Speaker B: And I am just a very close companion. [00:17:38] Speaker A: She's my wife. And sometimes he would be looking around, kind of scoping out the area just because he's never been there before, probably thinking, wow, there's a lot of booze here. I used to drink a lot in my youth, but man, has everyone started drinking more. [00:18:02] Speaker B: Amen. I'm just kidding. Amen. [00:18:05] Speaker A: This is gonna be a good one. I hope so. So, and then obviously, how do you. [00:18:10] Speaker B: Say, or how do you spell your name? [00:18:11] Speaker A: Mallon? M A, L, L, O, N. Flub it. And then toss. Cobble is just like toss. I just wrote cobble. [00:18:20] Speaker B: Cobble. Okay. Sick. Yeah. [00:18:24] Speaker A: Mallon's a cool name, by the way. [00:18:25] Speaker B: Yeah, I like it. Abby. [00:18:34] Speaker A: I mean. Yes, that was it. Just a muppet. [00:18:43] Speaker B: Okay, well, we toss. Gobble is a very, very old halfling. She's very, very stout and short and she's very round. She looks like she likes to eat. She's hobbling along behind yelling at her mallet for going too slow or too fast. She's wearing. She's. [00:19:18] Speaker A: Micah and I should not have been sitting next to each other. [00:19:22] Speaker B: It's been a long time since we all sat at a table. Gray, white hair and she's got it braided into behind her into long plaits. Her hair looks sea sprayed and her skin is very tanned and like salty salt worn. And as she's walking, you notice. You notice a little bit. You notice. [00:19:58] Speaker A: Abby said her kids was round five minutes ago and Mike has been dying ever since. [00:20:04] Speaker B: You notice as she's walking along with Mallon, you notice a little bit of squelch in her boots. [00:20:11] Speaker A: Oh, gross. Oh, how gross. [00:20:14] Speaker B: Squelch in her boots. [00:20:15] Speaker A: It's okay. I still love her. [00:20:16] Speaker B: And if you look closely, you might see a little bit of water dripping from her hands and. Did you guys swim here? [00:20:27] Speaker A: Okay. I wrote on. Might have done a little pissing. [00:20:32] Speaker B: Are you guys from Sun Valley? Where are you from? Or from what's, what's the island? Cassiel. Cassiel. Cassiel. What is that Cassiel? I'm sorry, is that an island the. [00:20:43] Speaker A: Far, farthest west besides the Badlands. [00:20:46] Speaker B: A Druid. What are you? Oh, I'm a warlock. It would be weird, but. Yeah, I mean, you guys are kind of weird, so. Yeah, I could see y' all moving there. [00:20:57] Speaker A: You know what? You're rounding up. [00:20:59] Speaker B: You know what? Yeah. Where's the place where we would be from? A place where after the round one. I'm sorry, Jackie. No, you're fine. I just imagine stuff in your world. But we would be a place where there's a port, an active seaport, and where there's lots of. Where there's lots of sea trade and there's room for, like, kind of a morally ambiguous religious Y group to be. [00:21:29] Speaker A: Hey, dm. Can we. Dm. Can we just throw a bunch of lore in your world real quick? [00:21:33] Speaker B: Well, you could be from inside the kingdom itself, because there's a lot of different groups there, and it's like a big, big city of like, 70, 80,000 people. Or you could be. Druids can live there. Or you could be from Valoran, which is like, kind of like a college town. And maybe y' all were there before the colleges really, like, got set up, and y' all were like this old couple that lived there and kind of had your own thing. And then kids started moving in, and that was horrible. It's a port town, too. Okay, that works. So we're from. We're from Valerie. Okay. [00:22:09] Speaker A: Also, I didn't describe my physical appearance. He's just. He's like four foot. [00:22:13] Speaker B: Yeah, you always forget to describe. You're always rushing along, rushing along, forgetting the descriptions, leaving everything out. [00:22:21] Speaker A: Just as I was saying, I'm four foot one. [00:22:26] Speaker B: Well, I'm like, where are you guys now? [00:22:27] Speaker A: You're. [00:22:27] Speaker B: I love it. [00:22:29] Speaker A: It's out of character in character becoming one. He's got, like, just really light gray, almost white, kind of shiny hair. Pretty wrinkled, but not like he would look like upper middle aged, maybe a little more. [00:22:45] Speaker B: Okay. [00:22:46] Speaker A: Like, almost 60s. [00:22:47] Speaker B: Do you guys ever come to Sun Valley or is this, like, your first time? [00:22:51] Speaker A: This is supposed to be first time. [00:22:53] Speaker B: And you said you wanted only one of you to have received the letter. Which one of you received the letter? You received it. Okay, cool. [00:23:01] Speaker A: I just came along for the ride. Just so I understand, Noah, are you saying that Madeline is pretty wrinkled or, like, pretty aged? [00:23:10] Speaker B: I would say pretty and wrinkled. [00:23:14] Speaker A: Aged. Well, but definitely been around a while. All right, sorry. [00:23:23] Speaker B: Are we ready for. [00:23:25] Speaker A: Oh, we're ready. [00:23:25] Speaker B: My name is Clara Oswald. [00:23:27] Speaker A: Whoa. [00:23:29] Speaker B: Clara Oswald. I can't do it without Turning that was hey go. But I. I have gone to the. Yeah, this is supposed to Australian. I can't do that. [00:23:44] Speaker A: I love what's happening. [00:23:45] Speaker B: Yeah, I like whatever this town to take a. Take a break from my voyages in the tracking of the what kind of bats would they be? Bats. Where are you where from? Like where are you. Where are you from? [00:24:03] Speaker A: Let me pull up. [00:24:07] Speaker B: I'm assuming there's caves in the future. No, I'm sold. [00:24:12] Speaker A: Druids. [00:24:14] Speaker B: Where would that be? Yeah, they would be there. There would be some caves, I guess. I don't know. Zach. I'm joking on a Skittle. I'm so sorry. [00:24:24] Speaker A: Oh, don't do that. Hey, you actually need to breathe. Yeah. [00:24:28] Speaker B: I love the band. [00:24:30] Speaker A: We all were like brother, let me be. [00:24:37] Speaker B: Zach. Give me some bats that live in caves. [00:24:41] Speaker A: Anything in more moopaday Mexican free tailed bat. You've got. Everybody's looking at me the. [00:24:51] Speaker B: Bat and it's be called the amaranthian freetail bat. [00:24:54] Speaker A: That's cool. [00:24:55] Speaker B: I love that from the deserts up there. But they. They fly down to the Druidic lands during the warmer months. [00:25:01] Speaker A: That's sick. There are a lot of bats in deserts. [00:25:03] Speaker B: What I follow them there. Okay. So I have been tracking their paths in the. To the rhythmic lands. And now I am in Sun Valley. I am taking a short break to locate some groceries and items to assist in my travels. Okay. Since I am the nomad, I have golden. And you got the. And you got the letter, so. And I got the letter. I found it in my. In my pack. I don't know who puts. [00:25:36] Speaker A: Already going. It's on my way. [00:25:40] Speaker B: I don't know who puts the letter into my pack, but I found it. And because the bats, I assume are very clever, they're very witty. I knew that they were smarter than people say they are. But I have golden dirty blonde hair. There's like golden strips into it that look like pots in the sun. Have you ever seen a ballerina? [00:26:09] Speaker A: You guys know what a ballerina is? No. [00:26:11] Speaker B: No, but I mean like they're like super toned. So they're like not strong, but they're like strong. [00:26:19] Speaker A: Strong. [00:26:20] Speaker B: Like they're strong. [00:26:21] Speaker A: So you're talking about classic elf build. [00:26:23] Speaker B: Almost classic elf build, but a little bit more intense because she just is in nature all the. Like a nomad. Like she's. Yeah, cool. She goes to villages and lakes. [00:26:42] Speaker A: Listener Noah has watermelon over there and like Micah's describing her character and he picked up a piece of watermelon and then leaned 2ft over the table, opened his mouth over his hand and lowered his head down under his hand and went for a bite. And me and Abby both were gross. We might need it tonight. [00:27:03] Speaker B: Yes, I think that's it. [00:27:08] Speaker A: What's your character's name? [00:27:10] Speaker B: Clara Oswald. Oswald. How do you spell Oswald? You should charge. Scottish. [00:27:15] Speaker A: Exactly. [00:27:16] Speaker B: I can't give it. Don't give it. [00:27:18] Speaker A: You know Micah. You know Micah. [00:27:19] Speaker B: Do six more actions. My name is Brave. [00:27:24] Speaker A: Sorry. [00:27:24] Speaker B: No. Yes. Yes, I have. [00:27:26] Speaker A: So bless you. [00:27:27] Speaker B: It's like Clara, but instead of. It's. Okay, well, it's cl. [00:27:30] Speaker A: I think you could spell it. Yeah. [00:27:32] Speaker B: E in the paper. I, I or A? Okay. Clara. So Oswald is OE. Oh, okay. S, T. Oh. Not at all what I thought. [00:27:49] Speaker A: Did you just say osteoporosis? Dude, what the heck? [00:27:59] Speaker B: W, I, W, I, L, D, E, L, D, E. Osteoporosis. Awesome. [00:28:08] Speaker A: Hi. This is my character, Mesothelioma. As you are. Someone you know. [00:28:17] Speaker B: And she is probably in her, like, early 30s in terms of appearance. I don't know what that is. Okay, but like, early 30s, traditionally, she looks young, but still, like, been around the block. She's not. She's not like, child appearing. Yeah, it's like she doesn't have those, like. [00:28:40] Speaker A: She doesn't appear like a child. She's not child appearing. She's unchild appearing. [00:28:51] Speaker B: She looks like an adult. [00:28:52] Speaker A: We haven't gotten past the character descriptions yet. [00:28:55] Speaker B: Go ahead, Zach. [00:28:58] Speaker A: DM I'm just describing my character and what they're doing. Right? [00:29:01] Speaker B: Yes. Why do you want to know? Why are you asking? [00:29:07] Speaker A: I am a gallus, which is a chicken person. But specifically, I don't look like a chicken. I look like a Muscovy duck. Which ones are those ones? The really hideous ones. They're black with mottled white patches, and they tend to have red growths on the front of their heads that roll up the large brow. They are the pissiest, most angry. That's not how you spell that word. [00:29:32] Speaker B: You get a little pissy in your pants. [00:29:37] Speaker A: I do a little pissy in the top. Use my hands. It's auto prompting it for you every time. Micah, I don't believe you. Okay. And I'm a duck, dude. I have. Except that I'm real muscley now. I am a duck. So it's not in my arms. It's all in my neck. My neck is just a tube of muscle that connects down to my shoulders and just kind of like a parabola. And I have tiny little legs because I'm a duck. But right at the base of my legs where there's like. At the top, where there's a little bit of leg, it's just all quad. Oh, never mind. And nobody knows what's under the feathers, but it's probably more muscles. But I still have itty bitty little wings. And I don't have a lot on me. I have a tiny little pack in the middle of my back. And I have a hand axe. I have bandoliers going across my chest and an X and a hand axe on each side. Then I have a great club about as big as I am going down my back. And I'm just waddling down the street of Sun Valley and I'm on a mission because I got a letter to greatness and I'm waddling and my feet are going on the street. When anybody gets close to me, I go. And then I go back to waddling. [00:30:52] Speaker B: I love it. Are you from Sun Valley or do you. [00:30:56] Speaker A: I am from the Stony Steps. [00:30:58] Speaker B: Okay, you're from the Stony Steps. [00:30:58] Speaker A: I'm used to life where it's hard. Oh, I also forgot to say I have a scar all the way down my face, through my eye and also on the other side and then also down my mouth. And then I have a teardrop tattooed on my left eye. But also on my right eye and also under each nostril. [00:31:14] Speaker B: Oh, no scar. X, three teardrop times three teardrop times four times four. [00:31:20] Speaker A: Both eyes and each nostril. [00:31:22] Speaker B: Okay. [00:31:23] Speaker A: Those nostrils kill people. [00:31:27] Speaker B: You know what I thought about the other day? Why they're called duck lips? Because ducks don't have lips anyway. [00:31:32] Speaker A: True. [00:31:32] Speaker B: No, it's because the bill protects. [00:31:35] Speaker A: They also don't have teeth. [00:31:37] Speaker B: Okay. So have you ever been to Sun Valley? [00:31:40] Speaker A: This is my first time in Sun Valley. I don't come up here with all these times. [00:31:43] Speaker B: Has anyone at the table been to Sun Valley? [00:31:45] Speaker A: Never been here before. [00:31:46] Speaker B: I probably have. Okay. Traveled before Stony Steps for groceries. [00:31:53] Speaker A: You come down from the desert to Sunbag just for groceries. [00:31:58] Speaker B: Items for the longer travel to like. For food. [00:32:00] Speaker A: Groceries. [00:32:02] Speaker B: So you've been here a few times. When was the last time you were here, you think? Probably like a month or two ago. Okay, so not that long ago. Do you want to roll a history check for me to see if you remember if you saw a place called the Red Brick Cavern? That was a mad one. Probably not. [00:32:20] Speaker A: What happened? Steward. [00:32:20] Speaker B: YM she dies. Okay. So since none of you guys are from here. [00:32:29] Speaker A: I didn't say. [00:32:31] Speaker B: Since none of you guys are from here. A couple of you came over. The married. The lovely married couple came over on a ship, and then the other three traveled here because they lived on the continent, so they didn't have to travel by ship. You guys either, you know, trekked. It flew. If you. I walked with my muscular legs, yes. So you guys. Let's say that you guys left the port and I feel like someone probably pointed you in the direction of the taverns in the town. Someone at the port. So you guys are heading to the strip and like, we got the directions. [00:33:13] Speaker A: And then immediately started arguing about it, probably. [00:33:15] Speaker B: And. And the other three, you guys are just kind of standing around looking. Do you guys. Do you guys want to make a check of any kind to try to find where you should be going or if you want to know where the Red Tavern is or ask somebody. I read the letter. You read the letter? Okay. The letter says that you should go to the Red Brick Tavern in Sun Valley. Okay. [00:33:48] Speaker A: I would love to find a random person and be like, okay, excuse me, do you know where the Red Brick in is? [00:34:01] Speaker B: Wait, can that person be me? Sorry, go ahead. [00:34:05] Speaker A: I think she's the expert. [00:34:10] Speaker B: You know what? Odds are even. It's a three. I'm sorry, so it's not you that he sees. [00:34:20] Speaker A: Can we make checks to become the dm? Is that what I'm hearing? [00:34:24] Speaker B: Go ahead. So you see someone on the street. She is a Kinku. She has gray feathered. I gotta find my sheet. It's in here. Okay. She has gray feathers, brown eyes, she's very tall, and she has, like, robes on. And you see her, she's getting out her loot to, like, about to start. [00:34:51] Speaker A: Oh, you stop playing. I'm so sorry. [00:34:53] Speaker B: It's no problem. I. Yeah, you said the wall. [00:34:58] Speaker A: Red brick in. [00:35:00] Speaker B: Well, there's no red. There's no red brick aim. [00:35:03] Speaker A: But I pull out the letter very slowly out of my shell and then I look at it again and I look real close at the letters and I say, excuse me. Oh, Javin. [00:35:15] Speaker B: Okay. Well, yeah, there's. There's actually, I think there's like. There's. Well, there's the red. There's the Red Brick Tavern. Yeah, there's the Red Brick Tavern. There's the Tavern with no Name that has bricks that are red. [00:35:31] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:35:32] Speaker B: And then there's like another one being built by my friend. By my friend. It's. I think it's. You think it's got red bricks, too? [00:35:41] Speaker A: Well, it sounded like the first one was the one I wanted. [00:35:44] Speaker B: The Red Brick. The Red Brick Tavern. Yeah. Yeah, that's just up the road past Readers and the Nomad bars. Yeah. [00:35:54] Speaker A: Do they have, like, signs that I can tell exactly? [00:35:56] Speaker B: I mean, like, yeah, the signs on the. Except for the one with no name. [00:36:00] Speaker A: Right. [00:36:01] Speaker B: But, like, the others have. Yeah, you'll be fine. [00:36:05] Speaker A: So I can see it. I won't be like, oh, that's Rita's. I missed it seven blocks back. [00:36:08] Speaker B: Yeah, no, it's just. It's just like a few. Just like a few paces up the road. Yeah, yeah. It's like two taverns. [00:36:16] Speaker A: My paces are your paces. [00:36:18] Speaker B: I yours, your tala. Yeah, I like two. Two Taverns. Two Taverns and then Red Bridge. Yeah. And my friend Civil's performing as you. [00:36:29] Speaker A: Should be able to. [00:36:31] Speaker B: Civil? Yeah. Evil Civil. [00:36:33] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:36:33] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:36:35] Speaker A: Well, thank you. What was your name? [00:36:37] Speaker B: Yawn. [00:36:38] Speaker A: Yawn? [00:36:39] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:36:41] Speaker A: That'S. That's a rough name for a performer. [00:36:46] Speaker B: I never thought of that. [00:36:48] Speaker A: He grabs it. He grabs a copper and he's like, for your troubles, Yawn. [00:36:51] Speaker B: Oh, thank. Thank you so much. [00:36:53] Speaker A: God will bless you. Oh, slowly turn. And he hears. And I just start making my way to the third tavern, and I'm. Tavern Mountain. [00:37:13] Speaker B: You guys have made it all the way to the Strip. The first two taverns you see, one on each side. You have Lucy's Lute and Lager and the Brick Red Tavern, and then there's just a whole bunch of others, and there's a whole bunch of bards on the street busking. It's like midday. You said the Brick Red Tavern? Yes, and Lucy's Lute and Lager are the two right at the front of the Strip. [00:37:43] Speaker A: Well, honey, I think that's the one. [00:37:46] Speaker B: That says Brick Red Tavern. It has the letter that I got says Red Brick Tavern. [00:37:54] Speaker A: It has the word brick, it has the word red, and it's got Tavern in it. What else do you want? [00:37:58] Speaker B: Listen, you're always mixing things up. You always mix them up in the wrong order. [00:38:02] Speaker A: I think whoever sent the letter mixed it up. I should have gotten that one. [00:38:06] Speaker B: You think you're always. You think that's what I thought. [00:38:10] Speaker A: And he's just gonna start walking because he knows he'll follow. [00:38:14] Speaker B: I follow, and I'm like, what? This is the wrong tavern. This is the Red Brick Tavern, and we're going to the Brick Red Tavern. Those are. That's not the same. [00:38:23] Speaker A: He stops and he's just kind of turns around and he goes, would you like to ask someone for directions then? [00:38:28] Speaker B: Why you ask who's one who's lost? [00:38:32] Speaker A: Can't argue with that. Who's around? I mean, there's lots of bards, so who's the closest? I won't take any other kind of p. Okay. [00:38:47] Speaker B: I was gonna have you make a check, but I won't. So standing outside of Lucy's luten lager. Coming out of Lucy's lean lager is this little halfling fellow. And he kind of has, like, a jester's outfit on. Okay, awesome. He's got, like, little bells and little sho. As he walks. And he's packing up. He has a bag with him. You can tell he's got, like, makeup on, kind of like mime makeup. And you can tell that he's packing up a bag of, like, things to juggle. Like, there's some balls and stuff. And he's just. He's walking out of Lucy's luten lager. [00:39:37] Speaker A: Why don't we ask that jingly fellow over there? [00:39:40] Speaker B: I say, yeah, good choice. [00:39:42] Speaker A: Thank you. He starts walking and walks up and goes, excuse me, there's a. [00:39:48] Speaker B: Do you know where the red bricks are? What? [00:39:54] Speaker A: She said. [00:39:57] Speaker B: He looks at both of you back and forth a couple times and just smiles. [00:40:05] Speaker A: Well, see where he's going to be carrying a pretty big pack with all this stuff. He's going to kind of take it off one shoulder, reach back in a back pocket. Well, you would have made me carry it. Okay, well, I'm gonna reach in your pack then and grab the letter. We're looking for the Red Brick Tavern. [00:40:26] Speaker B: Red Brick Tavern. [00:40:28] Speaker A: And that. I thought it was that one, but. [00:40:31] Speaker B: It says Brick Red, and we're looking for a Red Brick Tavern. [00:40:37] Speaker A: So could you, like, point or. [00:40:43] Speaker B: And he just kind of shrugs. He's making noises. [00:40:47] Speaker A: He's gonna reach into his pocket and pull out one silver piece. [00:40:53] Speaker B: Make persuasion checks. Okay. [00:40:58] Speaker A: Wait. Sell that. Oh, my gosh. Under charisma. I don't think I legit. I legit. Don't think I listed that in my. You did not. I didn't. So Charisma. That's a dirty 20. [00:41:15] Speaker B: He takes the silver, and he goes and just kind of nods, and he gestures to you to, like, follow him, and he starts taking off down the street. We gotta go. We gotta go. [00:41:32] Speaker A: Okay, let's go. [00:41:34] Speaker B: And he's like. He's like. He's, like, skipping. He's. He's not like. He's not, like, speeding out of here, but he's, like, skipping. Okay. And after about three minutes of skipping, you are standing in front of the Red Brick Tavern. And it's in capital letters. Red Brick Tavern. I look at it, and I look at the note that he's holding, and I look at it. Does it spell the same? Yeah. [00:42:06] Speaker A: Is it spelled the same? I was asking Dia, but that's fine too. [00:42:10] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. [00:42:13] Speaker A: All right. Thank you very much. He's gonna ping the silver piece at him. [00:42:19] Speaker B: He takes it and does a little like, a rope pull. Mime rope pull away. [00:42:27] Speaker A: I love it. [00:42:31] Speaker B: Chris. I gotta remember names. [00:42:34] Speaker A: I almost heard Chrisetti. [00:42:35] Speaker B: Yeah. I was like, that's my name. Clara. Clara. Clara, Clara. So you had no memory at all of any taverns at all because you got a nat One smells familiar. You see a street sign that says the Strip this way, and it has, like, a little loot on it. Diggle, Diggle, as my CO dm, do not beg for popcorn. You're okay. I. I'm gonna say that Clara gets confused pretty badly. Okay. Probably arrives, like 10 minutes later than the last person to arrive. Well, do you want to do an investigation? Check to see if you can find the red Burt Topper for me? You want to know that number one was my. Okay. Oh, that's getting a little bit better. Investigation. It's a 19. Oh, so I did find it. You did find it. [00:43:43] Speaker A: Well, I think she told us that, right? [00:43:45] Speaker B: Yeah. You find. You. You walked past the. The tavern with no name that didn't have a name, but it was made out of red bricks. And you're like. And then you kept walking and you found the red brick tower. Okay. Okay, okay. Go in. Yeah. Your name is not Gala. What do we know your name? [00:44:11] Speaker A: I haven't said. [00:44:12] Speaker B: You haven't said. What's your name? [00:44:15] Speaker A: Do I have to tell you now? [00:44:17] Speaker B: I guess not. No, you don't have to tell me now. Okay. [00:44:23] Speaker A: What? [00:44:23] Speaker B: You're waddling. [00:44:27] Speaker A: And my neck flexes every once in a while. [00:44:28] Speaker B: Do you? Do you? I guess I'll say make an investigation. Check to see if you can find the red brick tavern. [00:44:47] Speaker A: 15. [00:44:48] Speaker B: 15. Okay. You. You find the red bricked tavern. [00:44:56] Speaker A: Okay. [00:44:57] Speaker B: And you're standing in front of me. [00:44:58] Speaker A: I look at it, I glare, and I walk in. [00:45:02] Speaker B: You walk into the red brick tavern. [00:45:04] Speaker A: I push the door open with a foot. [00:45:07] Speaker B: Okay. [00:45:08] Speaker A: And then I look around the room. [00:45:09] Speaker B: Okay. [00:45:11] Speaker A: Does anyone in this room look like they're on the edge? [00:45:15] Speaker B: Looks like they're on the edge. Like, the edge. [00:45:21] Speaker A: Give me an odds or even the edge of sanity. [00:45:24] Speaker B: Odds. [00:45:26] Speaker A: I like my odds. [00:45:28] Speaker B: So. Sure, sure. Yeah. They. Yeah, there's. There is to backsy woman. [00:45:45] Speaker A: I approach her. [00:45:46] Speaker B: Okay. She is a black cat. Like, she has Black fur. She has little puffs of white on the edges. She has, like, eyeliner. Like, it's kind of even, like, Criss angel vibes. [00:45:56] Speaker A: That's awesome. I just walk up to her. [00:46:00] Speaker B: She looks you up and down. She goes, what? [00:46:05] Speaker A: Where's the Red Brick Tavern? [00:46:10] Speaker B: The what? [00:46:11] Speaker A: The Red Brick Tavern. Who's this? [00:46:14] Speaker B: This is the Red Bricked tavern. [00:46:16] Speaker A: Yeah. Where's the Red Brick Tavern? [00:46:22] Speaker B: She takes her. Her mug of ale and she downs the whole thing. No, she goes, you need to get out of my face before. [00:46:35] Speaker A: And I just flexed all the muscles down my neck, and then I hit my head on the table as hard as I can, trying the table with my face. What check do I make? Dm. Dm. [00:46:48] Speaker B: What check do I make? [00:46:50] Speaker A: I want to make a disabled dm. I'm doing a check. [00:46:54] Speaker B: Make a strength check. [00:46:55] Speaker A: Is that an athletics check? [00:46:56] Speaker B: Yeah. Make an athletics check? Yeah. [00:47:02] Speaker A: I didn't roll so good. That's a six. [00:47:08] Speaker B: The table kind of. It's like. It's not very sturdy, and it kind of goes, like. It pops back up, and she grabs it real quick, and she goes, sir, where's the Red Brick Tavern? You need to leave right now. The Red Brick Tavern is down the road. [00:47:24] Speaker A: Thank you. [00:47:25] Speaker B: Two doors down. Get out of my face. [00:47:32] Speaker A: I turned around, like, pop out of the tavern. [00:47:35] Speaker B: Okay. [00:47:35] Speaker A: There's little robots that have feet shaped like this, and they go one over the other. [00:47:42] Speaker B: Okay. So you. You find the Red Brick Tavern. So everyone gets there around the same time. It's a little after midday, and you all walk in, and you see a pretty. It's a pretty standard tavern. There's brick walls. They're red. A lot of the buildings in Sun Valley. A lot of the buildings in Sub Valley are made of brick and wood. And they all seem pretty new. Like, some are, like, log cabin y type things, and then some have a lot of, like, bricks built in with them. Yes. [00:48:19] Speaker A: Can I see? Make a check to see why. A lot of the buildings are new. You knew what you were doing when you started talking about architecture. You should have known. [00:48:27] Speaker B: Sure. [00:48:29] Speaker A: If you mention the wood that a door is made out of, you're gonna set that guy off. [00:48:35] Speaker B: What kind of tech would this be? This would be, I guess, a history insight, right? I think it would be history because he's. He wants to know, like, how he's. The DM. Make a history chat. [00:48:47] Speaker A: Okay. Okay. 16. [00:48:51] Speaker B: Okay. You would know that you've heard through the grapevine because you're at a fort town that. That in the past, like, 50 to 100 years, Sun Valley has boomed a lot. They have always exported goods. But in the past 50 to 100 years, like, sales have skyrocketed. So they started building them more. And a lot of more people started moving here, especially bards. That's when bards started moving here. [00:49:35] Speaker A: Gotcha. Okay. [00:49:38] Speaker B: And also, there's always a new tavern popping up, it looks like. So inside you see just a couple of standard tables. There's a little sage in the corner. A bard is kind of packing up their set, which. Well, none of you guys are from Sun Valley, so you wouldn't know, but you think it's kind of weird that they're like, why are they packing up a set? It's like 1pm that's weird. Wouldn't they be, like, setting up? Yeah, but there's a bartender at the bar, there's a couple of guys sitting there, and there's another lone person sitting at a table. And it's pretty empty. It's also pretty dark in here. They don't have many lights except on the stage. There's some torches lit to light up that area, but it's pretty dark and there's not a lot going on. [00:50:41] Speaker A: Okay, are we all in the tavern right now? [00:50:43] Speaker B: You all just kind of walked in. Ken, who has the highest perception? [00:50:47] Speaker A: Oh, like who? [00:50:49] Speaker B: What is everyone's perception? Yeah. Passive perception. [00:50:51] Speaker A: 12, 12, 13, 17. [00:50:53] Speaker B: 17. Wow. [00:50:56] Speaker A: When I play a wisdom character, I. [00:50:57] Speaker B: Always do percent Abby, what's yours? [00:51:00] Speaker A: Wow. [00:51:00] Speaker B: Obviously we match. Oh, okay. What's your passive. What is your passive? 8. Okay, that makes sense. [00:51:14] Speaker A: Sometimes when you make characters. Sometimes you make characters. Instead of having good stats, they could have bad stats. It's possible. [00:51:20] Speaker B: Okay, you know what? Since everyone is above 5, everyone make a perception check for me for when you walked into the pattern. [00:51:31] Speaker A: 17. Wow. [00:51:33] Speaker B: 17 again. [00:51:36] Speaker A: My dice actually real good. [00:51:37] Speaker B: You got an eight. You got a 16. 17. Eight. 12, 12. Okay, so everyone by. Wow, this is really hard to remember names. Clara and Welby. So cruel. Malon and don't know this guy. Duck dude. You all see when you walk inside the tavern, that. On the windows by the doors, right when you walk in. [00:52:11] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:52:12] Speaker B: There's, like, missing posters. No. Plastered all over. Plastered all over the. [00:52:21] Speaker A: No, I think it's the one I was. [00:52:23] Speaker B: There are missing posters. [00:52:24] Speaker A: They're all over the walls. [00:52:25] Speaker B: All over the. All over the windows. Like, just like, people have tacked them up. You got a 17. [00:52:32] Speaker A: Yes. [00:52:33] Speaker B: You got a 12, and you got a 16. Okay, so you don't. You don't really like you just notice that there's missing posters and you're kind of like that's weird. Or whatever you think because you're your own character. But you two, since you got over 15, you. I would say that. Would you say that Yalls characters kind of stop to look at them? [00:52:53] Speaker A: Oh yeah. Is it so dark that I can't see? [00:52:57] Speaker B: No, these are on the outside. [00:52:59] Speaker A: I would stop to look at them if I could see them. [00:53:01] Speaker B: So there's several missing posters. There's of different people. There's one poster that's four Druidic teens that they went to Sun Valley for. [00:53:15] Speaker A: F O U. I love the same thing. [00:53:16] Speaker B: Four different ones. No, there's a crude drawing. There's a crude drawing of four teenagers from the Druidic lands. It says that they were last seen east of here three weeks ago. There's a poster with 12 year old twins. It says. It says great kids Reward month and it says there is a reward and their names are Grancel and Heddle. [00:53:53] Speaker A: Love it. [00:53:56] Speaker B: There's a missing poster for a loving father of two, three, friend to all, fighter of fires, Mr. Picoto or Picado? Picoto. Yeah. And then there's, you see one more missing poster. That is for a Ms. Lena Crane, who is a healer and medicine woman. And all these posters look a little bit different ages, like as far as like the paper. Like they look like some were posted longer and then some look like they were just put up. But there's a bunch. But those are some of the ones that kind of stand out to you. There's also one more of a missing loving sister. A Tabaxi with orange fur and no name. Yes. [00:54:55] Speaker A: Sister's name. [00:54:55] Speaker B: There is a name and I don't know where I put the name. [00:54:59] Speaker A: Sister. It is. [00:55:01] Speaker B: It just says loving sister, Ms. Lord. That's what it says. [00:55:08] Speaker A: I'm DM. I have noticed these posters. [00:55:10] Speaker B: You have noticed these posters? Do you stop to read them? Do you want to investigate? [00:55:13] Speaker A: Well, I want to walk up and look at the pictures. [00:55:16] Speaker B: Okay. [00:55:19] Speaker A: Can I try to make a check to attempt to try and read them? Can you not read? Well, technically my intelligence is too low to read. [00:55:30] Speaker B: Oh no. [00:55:31] Speaker A: So I shouldn't be able to. [00:55:33] Speaker B: What is your okay make it. [00:55:34] Speaker A: That's not important. But I just. [00:55:37] Speaker B: I guess just a straight intelligence check. What? Yeah. [00:55:42] Speaker A: Dm. That's a natural one. So I'm just gonna walk up in between whoever these strangers are and I'm gonna look at the shapes and I'm. [00:55:50] Speaker B: Gonna go do it. [00:55:51] Speaker A: What would the value be with me. [00:55:54] Speaker B: Do an insight check for me. Do an insight check for me. [00:55:58] Speaker A: That's wisdom. [00:55:59] Speaker B: The insight check is for you to see if. Even though you can't read, why would there be posters of. [00:56:08] Speaker A: I got a 13. 13. [00:56:10] Speaker B: I think you kind of get that. Like, maybe these, like, you see like money signs, like dollar signs and stuff. And I've seen one of those before and. And there's just one. And you've. You've seen the word reward on your note when I assume someone read it to you. [00:56:35] Speaker A: I don't. I put together what they're for, but I'm still just sitting there trying with the shapes and I'm somewhere near them, not focused on them, but I'm just going. Does he fart just a little bit. I'm just making those noises. [00:56:53] Speaker B: Yes, he does. [00:56:54] Speaker A: Oh my God. Looking at that. That's what I'm doing. [00:57:01] Speaker B: I, I don't notice the posters because I, I rolled too low. But I, I'm like chattering. I'm like. You're never. Why are you not. Listen, I'm trying to talk to you about our plans and you constant five. [00:57:10] Speaker A: Minute conversation going on. I'm trying to get acquainted. [00:57:13] Speaker B: Hey, you know how he's marching? [00:57:15] Speaker A: Hey. Yes. What does it say? Are they missing posters? Yeah, they're missing people. People who have been missing in the town and so close to it. Okay. [00:57:33] Speaker B: Hi. Who are you? [00:57:35] Speaker A: And then I run in the town. [00:57:40] Speaker B: This is the local life of the town you want to be acquainted with. [00:57:44] Speaker A: He goes. I guess so. He just walks in and follows him. [00:57:47] Speaker B: Okay. I always wanted to be acquainted. [00:57:49] Speaker A: As you follow. Have you walked in yet? [00:57:51] Speaker B: I. I walked in, but everyone. You rolled an 8, so you didn't notice the massage. [00:57:56] Speaker A: So is this on the. [00:57:57] Speaker B: These are on the house, right? Like, as you're reaching for the door, you see plaster on the windows so strong that I just stuffed my way out of. [00:58:07] Speaker A: Could I. Could I have made an insight check to see why they started packing up? Like, was there something that maybe went off or. [00:58:14] Speaker B: Oh, the, the bard that's standing there. Yeah, go ahead and make an inside deck. [00:58:17] Speaker A: Like, did he just finish? Yeah. Was he looking for something? I got a 17. [00:58:24] Speaker B: Oh, okay. So you kind of. You're thinking about it and they're packing up. And as they're packing up, you see a bard walk in behind you and you're putting together. There's so many bards on the street. There's so many taverns. They don't have enough time slots to play. They're having to Play all times of the day. Wow. [00:58:49] Speaker A: Wow, wow. [00:58:51] Speaker B: That would. Odds or even? [00:58:54] Speaker A: Odds, please. [00:58:56] Speaker B: Yeah. Jan is walking in the door, getting ready to play. [00:59:01] Speaker A: Jan, it's so good to see you again. I didn't know you'd be coming my way. [00:59:06] Speaker B: I wasn't. I forgot to tell you that I was playing here today. I. Sometimes I forget things. Yeah, me too. No, not really. I just. What are we talking about? You telling people things. [00:59:23] Speaker A: Keep bickering in the corner. [00:59:24] Speaker B: She's like. She keeps, like, trying to look at you and talk, but she keeps hearing it real loud. No, I just. Sometimes I would sleep and got a little bit of hangover. But yeah, I. Oh, God. Yeah, I guess I am playing here date. I think I got, like a 3pm slot or something. But I'm here, get my meal first. [00:59:44] Speaker A: They got good food? [00:59:45] Speaker B: Oh, they got food. Yeah. But the ales. The ale's good. And it's Jake. And then she. She holds up a hand and, like, goes to the bar and, like, goes and sits down and. Yes, dm. Yes. I almost said yes, dm. [01:00:04] Speaker A: Did you mean to be playing any music? I was just. [01:00:06] Speaker B: Oh, my gosh, thank you. I meant to, but I don't even. [01:00:13] Speaker A: Like, are you gonna play music? I was like, yes. [01:00:16] Speaker B: I don't think faffing about is the vibe for bass. And that's also very loud. Let's do this. [01:00:27] Speaker A: And also, I would like to approach the bar. [01:00:29] Speaker B: You like to approach the bench? No, I'm just kidding. I'm sorry. [01:00:33] Speaker A: Come before the bar, not over on the bench. [01:00:38] Speaker B: So, yeah, Yawn is at the bar and another guy sitting at the bar. Oh, Dingle moved over there. And. Okay, you go up to the bar. Are you trying to get the bartender's attention or. [01:00:50] Speaker A: There is a bartender there. [01:00:52] Speaker B: There's two people. There is a guy taking Yawn's order. Seems to know her. He is a tiefling. He's in his mid-20s. He has a lot of tattoos. He has, like, grayish skin. He's got some cool piercings. [01:01:13] Speaker A: It's on a spot you can't see. [01:01:14] Speaker B: It's on a spot you can't see. [01:01:15] Speaker A: Are they lies? [01:01:16] Speaker B: It's on a spot you can't see. [01:01:18] Speaker A: What are his tattoos? Lies. She smells beef and cheese. There was an elephant. I just approached. [01:01:31] Speaker B: Okay, so he's there, and then there's also another. There's also another woman who is human. Looks to be in, like, her mid-50s. And she's just over at the bar, like, cleaning and kind of like. She, like, said Hi. To yawn. She like, like, Hey. [01:01:47] Speaker A: I up to the bar and then I approach it with just my eyes because I'm very short. I'm. I'm about four foot something. And I approach where just my eyes are over and I'm at the edge just going. [01:02:00] Speaker B: Okay, did you go over to. To the guy or the girl or to anyone? [01:02:04] Speaker A: He's engaged in conversation. Walk over to her. Okay. [01:02:09] Speaker B: Hi. Hi, honey. What can. [01:02:11] Speaker A: What can I. I just opened my duck bill and I like. I like, mouth the side of the cab and I. I like, pull myself up onto a stool and as I sit up, I go. The missing people, where are they missing? [01:02:27] Speaker B: The signs. The signs. Excuse me? The signs. The signs on the windows. Yeah, those are. [01:02:34] Speaker A: I can read those. [01:02:36] Speaker B: Okay. Yeah, those. Those are people that have, you know, traveled or some. Some people that are locals that have gone camping and they haven't come back. [01:02:48] Speaker A: Who's looking for them? [01:02:50] Speaker B: Well, we got some people out looking for them. One guy went and looked for them, and he's a really good guy. Him and this other lady was a healer. They went looking for him and they haven't come back. [01:03:00] Speaker A: Did you write a letter? [01:03:01] Speaker B: Did I write a letter? [01:03:02] Speaker A: Did you write a letter? [01:03:03] Speaker B: I didn't write no letter. [01:03:05] Speaker A: Do you know anybody writes letters? [01:03:07] Speaker B: I didn't. No. [01:03:09] Speaker A: Do you know any wrong? You don't know anyone writes letters? [01:03:13] Speaker B: No. The postman, he sends them. I don't know. Oh, my gosh. [01:03:19] Speaker A: Okay. Exactly. Thank you, man. What's your name? [01:03:23] Speaker B: My name's Muriel Redstream. I'm the owner of this joint. She holds out a hand. Dm, I do not mean to play this song. Yeah, go ahead. Roll initiative. [01:03:35] Speaker A: I. She reached for me. Is she trying to fight me? [01:03:40] Speaker B: You want to make an intelligence challenge or insight? [01:03:46] Speaker A: What was that? Which one? Do. [01:03:49] Speaker B: Do insight. [01:03:50] Speaker A: Okay, those are different. That's a 10. [01:03:53] Speaker B: No, she's. She's reaching out to shake your hand. [01:03:56] Speaker A: Okay, go. Okay. And I reach out just like a wing with a hand on it. [01:04:03] Speaker B: Okay. Do you need. Do you need some food or something? Are you okay? You need some coffee? Come down from whatever this is. [01:04:10] Speaker A: You got any food? [01:04:12] Speaker B: Yeah. Okay, I'll take some.2 copper for the meal. [01:04:18] Speaker A: Okay. Okay. And then I, like, reach out my wings, they're trembling. And I attempt to reach my backpack on my back, but it's in the middle of my back. It's been there for a long time. [01:04:27] Speaker B: Weeks. [01:04:28] Speaker A: And my arms are very short. Dm. What sort of a check is this? I haven't gotten it in days. [01:04:33] Speaker B: Athletics. [01:04:34] Speaker A: Okay. I'm good at that. [01:04:36] Speaker B: Is there a Flexibility, acrobatics, athletics, Whichever you choose. [01:04:41] Speaker A: That's a 15. [01:04:43] Speaker B: Yeah. You reach it. [01:04:44] Speaker A: Is there a way that my arms that are too short manage to get it, or would you. [01:04:49] Speaker B: You It. When you try to reach back and you reach back, your arms so far back your pack falls off. [01:04:56] Speaker A: Okay. [01:04:57] Speaker B: And then you turn over and grab it. [01:05:00] Speaker A: And then I get it with my little bill. I place it on the. On the. On the counter, and I just root through it with my head until I pull out a coin bag and I open it up, and I go, I'm gonna pay you. And then I bury my head in the bag, and I pull out a couple of copper, and I been on the counter. [01:05:15] Speaker B: Okay. I can't tell whether to give you coffee or liquor. It's on the house either way. But not the. Not the food. And she takes the copper, put the. [01:05:24] Speaker A: Coin bag in the bag. Thanks. [01:05:27] Speaker B: Okay. [01:05:28] Speaker A: And I get off the stool, and I start walking around. [01:05:30] Speaker B: Okay, you were near the bar, and where were you guys when y' all came in? [01:05:36] Speaker A: Like, pretty. I guess towards the middle of the room. [01:05:41] Speaker B: Okay, do. Do a perception check, or do everyone do a perception check to see if you overheard him ask the bartender about the letter? [01:05:51] Speaker A: Barely even know the guy. It's gonna be a 5. 20. I'm distracted. [01:05:57] Speaker B: 25. [01:05:58] Speaker A: I'm distracted by the 25. 7 plus 18. Jeez. I only have. Only animal handling is not my proficient skill in husband. [01:06:10] Speaker B: Have you. [01:06:11] Speaker A: Jeez. [01:06:18] Speaker B: You got a 10. Okay, so you and Crow overheard him weirdly and very aggressively ask about a letter. [01:06:31] Speaker A: I'm in the middle of the room just looking around at people. [01:06:33] Speaker B: I'm gonna say, mallon, Mallon, Mallon, Mallon. That guy got a letter. [01:06:39] Speaker A: Excuse me. Maybe we should talk to him. Maybe we shouldn't talk to him. Excuse me. [01:06:44] Speaker B: Can I just appear at the. Like beside him? [01:06:47] Speaker A: I. I just slowly try to walk. [01:06:50] Speaker B: Where do you want to go in the. In the tavern? You want to go to the bar? You go sleep right beside him. Yeah. You didn't hear him talk about the letter, but you walk up to the. Yeah, go ahead. [01:07:01] Speaker A: I. I just. You started walking around the tavern, right? Or did you sit? All right, so I'm gonna. If he doesn't respond to me yelling at him, I'm going to slowly wait to get into his path and just stand there with my staff. I stop and I look at him. [01:07:18] Speaker B: We're walking over to. [01:07:19] Speaker A: Hello, you. Is this a challenge? [01:07:23] Speaker B: Oh. [01:07:23] Speaker A: Oh, dear Galadriel. No, no, Gadriel. Gadriel. No. You said you had a letter. I pull out of my. I pull out of my arm. [01:07:39] Speaker B: We have a letter, too. I. I raised up my letter. You got a letter? [01:07:43] Speaker A: Oh, it seems like. It seems like the Weirs have been helping us to guide us in our ways of that. No dragons from miniature. [01:07:53] Speaker B: Are the dragons sent the letter? [01:07:55] Speaker A: No, dragons are the ones guiding our steps at the moment. But anyway. [01:08:01] Speaker B: Are bats dragons? [01:08:03] Speaker A: Are bats dragons? [01:08:04] Speaker B: That's my theory. That's what I'm trying to prove. [01:08:06] Speaker A: I think they may have been descended from dragons. They had to have wings, and the membranes seem to be similar in their structure. [01:08:12] Speaker B: That's what I'm thinking. [01:08:13] Speaker A: Yeah, maybe like, decrepit, terrible dragons. [01:08:16] Speaker B: Can they break lettuce? [01:08:17] Speaker A: No. Well, bats, cats, you're getting there, actually. But I think dragon's good, but they have not been seen for many a year. So I'm just gonna be an old man who's just like. I hold up my letter and say, anyone in here write this letter? Yeah. Who are the letters? Not as aggressive as Duckman. [01:08:40] Speaker B: That was offensive to you. Watch your tail. [01:08:45] Speaker A: I love the very, like, almost South African Dutch accent. I like. Hey, I like where it's going with that. You're doing great. [01:08:56] Speaker B: Jan looks up and is like. And there's the guy. One guy at the bar and the guy at the table. The guy at the bar just is like, nah, and waves y' all off. And then the guy at the table just kind of coughs and it's like. But besides that, no one has said anything. [01:09:22] Speaker A: Is that coffin affirmation that you've written this letter? [01:09:37] Speaker B: Sorry, one second. [01:09:39] Speaker A: Don't let it happen again. I start hobbling towards the coughing man. I'm flanking behind the tortle cellar. My hands are at the ready. [01:09:49] Speaker B: What do you want? [01:09:51] Speaker A: Did you write this letter? [01:09:52] Speaker B: I don't write no letters. [01:09:54] Speaker A: Who wrote the letter? This person? [01:09:56] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:09:59] Speaker A: I got a 23. [01:10:02] Speaker B: You got a 23? Well, you can tell that he didn't write. Like, he's telling the. He didn't write. He didn't write no letter. [01:10:17] Speaker A: Okay. Well, it was nice to meet you, sir. I'm looking for the man who wrote this. [01:10:20] Speaker B: What? What is the. What? What? I'm trying to get the voice. Sorry. What is. What does the letter say? [01:10:30] Speaker A: Did you write it? [01:10:31] Speaker B: No, I. I didn't write it. But what is. Who you looking for? [01:10:34] Speaker A: I don't know. It doesn't have name on it. [01:10:35] Speaker B: It doesn't have a name. It doesn't have a name. But I mean, like, what's the lettuce? What is. What is the letters? Maybe the letter wasn't for you. Mine had my name. Mine had a name. You guys all have the same letter. I had mine. [01:10:50] Speaker A: It seems like it. [01:10:51] Speaker B: What's yours say? Hold up, read it. [01:10:55] Speaker A: Oh, no. I, like, grab from the back of my shell some, like, really tiny and terrible glasses that I put it on. Like, my shell just says I have to keep holding it and putting it back up. And I'm like. Like, to whom it may concern. [01:11:12] Speaker B: Can. Can I just. Can I just. [01:11:14] Speaker A: I don't know you. [01:11:15] Speaker B: Okay. Okay. Yeah. [01:11:20] Speaker A: And I just read the letter for everyone here again, and I'm just like. That's what he said. Oh, I said the same thing. That's crazy. [01:11:28] Speaker B: Okay, well, there's some bites out of mine, but I don't think that's related. [01:11:32] Speaker A: I think ours got extra sense. [01:11:36] Speaker B: I mean, there's no. There's no town Easter here. It's just woods. Oh, I. I've been a farmer in this town my whole life. [01:11:46] Speaker A: But you don't write letters now. [01:11:47] Speaker B: I write letters, but there's, you know. [01:11:49] Speaker A: A guy who does write letters. [01:11:51] Speaker B: I don't know no guys that write no letters, but I know there's no town east here. It's just. It's just woods. People go camping. It. There's nothing there. [01:12:03] Speaker A: Can I insight this guy again? Yeah, I would like to as well. [01:12:06] Speaker B: Okay. [01:12:09] Speaker A: 26. Natural 20. I feel like I'm wasting all these good rolls on things in which DM is 22. I would like to try and do my best to count the teeth in his mouth as he's talking. [01:12:21] Speaker B: Okay. [01:12:21] Speaker A: How high can he count? I'm trying. What sort of check is this? DM. He's got 10 fingers. [01:12:27] Speaker B: Why you're asking me the weirdest check? [01:12:30] Speaker A: This is what I'm trying to do. Dude. [01:12:34] Speaker B: This is a investigation. [01:12:36] Speaker A: Yeah, there you go. Hold my. [01:12:41] Speaker B: You can see he has 75% of his teeth. [01:12:48] Speaker A: What? I'm trying to. I'm trying to count the teeth in his. [01:12:53] Speaker B: Oh, you're trying to count 75 teeth? [01:12:56] Speaker A: If there were 100 teeth in their original one. [01:12:59] Speaker B: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. [01:13:01] Speaker A: So as he's talking, I'm just looking. [01:13:03] Speaker B: I. I don't know. Blight happening in the town. In a town. There is no town. I mean, thought this was the town. This is the town. But there's not a town east of Sundial. There's north, there's the Druids. [01:13:21] Speaker A: North. [01:13:21] Speaker B: There's the. There's the Other guys south. There's. But there's nothing east. [01:13:26] Speaker A: Has there been anything strange going on? Anything that. [01:13:29] Speaker B: Yeah, we got a few missing people. Every. Every. I don't know. Yeah, a couple of camping teens and some guy, but I. I don't think. What's his name? He was some guy. Picado. He. He lives. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, no, no. He's a really good guy. He's got, like, three kids. His farm's down the street from mine. Yeah, he's got, like, three kids. He's. He's like one of the volunteer firefighters out here. Yeah. [01:13:59] Speaker A: Is he still. Oh, he's lost. [01:14:01] Speaker B: Yeah, he hasn't. He went to go look for the teens. [01:14:04] Speaker A: He fights, fires. [01:14:05] Speaker B: This other girl, and they haven't come back. But I think maybe, you know, that it could be an affair. Yeah, like, you know, he. He. He can do. He can do that magic stuff that you guys. Some people do. A lot of people do it around here. A lot of the bards around town. And he, like, does, like, water and puts out the fire. [01:14:25] Speaker A: It was. It was too many words. I get. I get bored and I start walking. [01:14:28] Speaker B: Okay. But. Yeah, there's no town. There's no town. I mean, it's just trees. There was like, there was a town. I mean, like a long time ago. Like, a lot. Like, I'm talking, like. Like maybe like 500 years ago. I heard something like, there's like temples or something. Yeah. [01:14:46] Speaker A: I start counting on my fingers, like. [01:14:48] Speaker B: Like ancient. Like, you know, like. Like. And they've built, like, towns around them, but it's just. It's just woods now. Yeah. [01:14:56] Speaker A: What was your name? [01:14:58] Speaker B: Oh, my name. My name is Joffrey. Joffrey. Yeah. Joffrey. Yeah. Joffrey P. Split up. [01:15:07] Speaker A: It was nice to see you. [01:15:08] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. To you, too. [01:15:10] Speaker A: Thank you. [01:15:11] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, of course. [01:15:11] Speaker A: I look to the other people who also suspicious, like, and I say, you want to start heading east into the woods? I'm very going. I don't think any of us know where we're going. [01:15:24] Speaker B: I actually track. I track animals for a living, and I think that I might be able to help you guys find the way. [01:15:32] Speaker A: Yo, Micah. That's pretty good. That sounds like a terrific idea. Oh, go with you guys. That's good. Do you have to Too good you. [01:15:42] Speaker B: Do you. [01:15:43] Speaker A: I don't know. I like that. [01:15:47] Speaker B: Nice. [01:15:49] Speaker A: Was he being mean? Was you being mean? I'm going with you guys. I guess so if we all got the suspicious letter, it might be good to stay suspiciously together. Shall we head to the east to this. Downward. [01:16:16] Speaker B: Fingers on it. It's about this time that Muriel comes out from the back. She goes, hey, honey, I got your meal. Okay. [01:16:29] Speaker A: Then I come back to the counter and I just. I'm like, picking up chunks and eating it as quick as I. It's going everywhere. At one point, I eat it. I eat the last bits by going, wham, wham, wham. With my head on the counter. [01:16:49] Speaker B: How is that eating? [01:16:50] Speaker A: Chickens do it all the time. [01:16:52] Speaker B: She just. She kind of just stares and watches you. [01:16:57] Speaker A: Was it good? [01:16:59] Speaker B: Yeah, it was actually. It was. I mean, it was decent. Did you have enough time to know that? [01:17:03] Speaker A: When I'm done with food all over my face. Thanks. [01:17:07] Speaker B: Yeah. Okay. She snaps her fingers and does this. And the. And the. And it's clean. Whoa. The bar. [01:17:16] Speaker A: How'd you do that? [01:17:17] Speaker B: That's cool. [01:17:18] Speaker A: That was cool. Did you do that on purpose? [01:17:20] Speaker B: No. [01:17:23] Speaker A: What are you. [01:17:26] Speaker B: What do you mean? That's not my voice. [01:17:28] Speaker A: What? [01:17:28] Speaker B: What do you mean? [01:17:31] Speaker A: Wow. [01:17:32] Speaker B: Okay. Glad you enjoyed it. Okay. [01:17:37] Speaker A: Can I go back to my group? I think we're heading east, if that's okay. [01:17:42] Speaker B: Okay, so you're gonna walk out the cabin. As you guys start heading east to the. To the east of town. [01:17:53] Speaker A: I thought you said we. [01:17:56] Speaker B: You're walking down the strip, and you're kind of in a. It's getting to. You're going farther down the strip where some of the taverns are being built. Cool. And everything. And there's like a lot of, like, different alleyways and stuff. Can y' all do a perception check for me? [01:18:15] Speaker A: I would love. Oh, my God. [01:18:19] Speaker B: Okay, with perception, if I roll back, does it, like, automatically. Blew my pack. Last person. That's true. [01:18:26] Speaker A: No, no, no. 17. It never has. [01:18:30] Speaker B: 17, nine, 11, 11. What did you roll? Okay, I got nine. Nine. Nine's not bad. What did you get, Abby? 11. 11. [01:18:42] Speaker A: Nat. 20 for an 18. [01:18:43] Speaker B: Okay, so everyone but Noah and Micah. You hear a very fake sneeze coming from the. The alley left of you. [01:19:03] Speaker A: I. I pull out two hand axes and whip around. [01:19:09] Speaker B: I'm like, down, boy, down. [01:19:11] Speaker A: I nod and I put the hand axes away. Hello, Gadriel? Bl. [01:19:20] Speaker B: Sorry, I lost my voice. Sounds like you're saying God. God's real. [01:19:26] Speaker A: I love you right now. God is real. [01:19:29] Speaker B: So you see this weird little hunched over man. He's got this wiry white hair sticking out everywhere. His eye is kind of like twitching like this. He's hunched over. He has like this weird cloak on. And you see him and he. Once you look over and you say, God you will. Bless you. He opens up his cloak and he goes, oh, no, no, it's not like that. He opens up his cloak, I kill him, and he goes. And he goes, what? A vial. What? What? [01:20:05] Speaker A: A bio. What? [01:20:06] Speaker B: Just kidding. Go to the woods. [01:20:09] Speaker A: Oh, what? Okay. [01:20:13] Speaker B: Follow the laughter. [01:20:15] Speaker A: Follow what? The laughter. [01:20:16] Speaker B: Find the mist. [01:20:17] Speaker A: Follow the laughter. [01:20:18] Speaker B: In two days, your search will cease. Don't stop for death. Don't veer out of one sight. Stay together. Fix the point. And then he runs away. That was so good. Thank you. [01:20:33] Speaker A: Jackie. You're kind of an awesome dm. [01:20:36] Speaker B: Then he runs away. He runs around the corner. Does anyone, like, chase after him or anything? [01:20:42] Speaker A: Well, I look to whoever her name is, and I point at him and I, like, run my finger across my throat and then, like, do question hands. [01:20:55] Speaker B: Does anyone. [01:20:56] Speaker A: I nod and hunch down. [01:20:57] Speaker B: Does anyone follow him or look around? I do. I. Well, I like. We can't just. We can't just. You're just gonna let him. And I. I like. I start running and he's gonna stop running. [01:21:05] Speaker A: Okay. I run in pursuit as well. [01:21:07] Speaker B: Okay. Okay. You turn the hun. You turn the corner. Okay. Can I run after what you. [01:21:15] Speaker A: I don't run after. I just stay on the road. Like. I can't go that far, bro. I gotta go. [01:21:20] Speaker B: You turn. [01:21:21] Speaker A: Just starts going. [01:21:22] Speaker B: You turn the corner and there is no. There's no one there. Just little rat runs across. [01:21:28] Speaker A: Okay. I just. [01:21:30] Speaker B: A little rat runs across. That's it. You don't see any person? Any. Any. Doesn't look like anyone was there. Just a little rat runs across. [01:21:38] Speaker A: Do we know? [01:21:39] Speaker B: I mean, I. I cast magic. You want to. Which is a feature. You want to make a check? [01:21:47] Speaker A: Sure. What check would that be? Just to see, like, you want. [01:21:51] Speaker B: What are you trying to see? Are you trying to see if it was magic or are you trying. Or are you wanting to see if that rat is a real rat? [01:22:00] Speaker A: That is the end goal. [01:22:01] Speaker B: To see if it's a real rat. I would say do New Nature or arcana. Okay, which are you proficient in? One of those? [01:22:08] Speaker A: I am proficient in both. [01:22:09] Speaker B: Okay, well, then choose. Whichever. [01:22:13] Speaker A: A. 16. [01:22:14] Speaker B: Actually, let me. I need to do something. Don't look. I don't know who I'm saying that. Okay. [01:22:22] Speaker A: I need them to see nothing. Could we all close our eyes? Okay. [01:22:28] Speaker B: You rolled A what? [01:22:29] Speaker A: 16. [01:22:31] Speaker B: Okay. And Abby, were you making a check? Yes. Hold on. I thought I had a feature that I could cast. Detect magic, but go ahead. I'll just. That looks like a normal rat to you okay? [01:22:44] Speaker A: Fair enough. I'm just standing there going, I really like this song. This is good. Is this Kevin Mackley? He's the best. [01:22:55] Speaker B: Yeah, he really is. [01:22:55] Speaker A: I think his name is actually Kevin McCloud. But I wait last year, two minutes and no one comes back. I just start slowly heading towards the east. No one comes back. Okay. I walk up to the tortle and I go, Hi. Hello. What's your name? Will you tell me yours if I tell you mine? Krull. Krull. Okay. I'm Gathridox. Throat of spoken bleeding, Son of Zannistricid, the vile rite. Grandson of the greatest warrior to ever live. Can you spell that? [01:23:41] Speaker B: Yes. The whole thing. [01:23:43] Speaker A: Gatherodox is G, A T, G, A T, H, R, I D, O, X. Throat of spoken bleeding, son of, son of Zanastricid. Za N, N A T R I S, S I D, the vile rite, grandson of the greatest warrior to ever live. And then I say, my friends call me Gaff. Who are you all? [01:24:19] Speaker B: Can we call you G? I say in a surprisingly normal and not characteristic voice. [01:24:26] Speaker A: Dm. I want to make a check. [01:24:29] Speaker B: Okay. [01:24:30] Speaker A: What does she mean by that? [01:24:33] Speaker B: What does she mean by what? [01:24:35] Speaker A: She asked if she can call me Gaff. [01:24:38] Speaker B: I guess. Insight. Sir, I don't know how. What is your intelligence score? Sir? [01:24:47] Speaker A: I got a 12, which means? I don't know. She's the DM. [01:24:52] Speaker B: You got a 12? [01:24:54] Speaker A: Oh, that's after the modifier. [01:24:58] Speaker B: I think she's asking, can she be my friend? [01:25:06] Speaker A: Yeah. What's your name? Clara Oswald. What? [01:25:14] Speaker B: Claire Oswald. [01:25:15] Speaker A: What? Claire. [01:25:19] Speaker B: Claire Oswald. [01:25:23] Speaker A: Oh, my gosh. Okay. And you do love the lovebirds. What are your. [01:25:28] Speaker B: The toss gobbles. Gather I'm wealthy. [01:25:33] Speaker A: Grant him the greatest fight. [01:25:34] Speaker B: What's your name? [01:25:36] Speaker A: It's pleasure to make your acquaintance grow. Pleasure to make your acquaintance. [01:25:40] Speaker B: That's cool. I like that. [01:25:45] Speaker A: I appreciate. Are we like a tribe? Warriors together? [01:25:54] Speaker B: Yes. [01:25:55] Speaker A: Yes. That's a very horrendous. [01:25:57] Speaker B: Do you need a napkin? I don't think so. Did stuff spill? Not being this close. [01:26:03] Speaker A: Let's go kill somebody. [01:26:04] Speaker B: Should you guys head into the woods? [01:26:05] Speaker A: I guess. Yeah. Do we know where east is? [01:26:08] Speaker B: Can I, like, try and track. [01:26:11] Speaker A: Where's the sun and what time is it? [01:26:13] Speaker B: Make a serve. Well, you guys head into the woods. [01:26:16] Speaker A: Yes. [01:26:17] Speaker B: Everyone make a survival check. Funny enough. Plus zero for survival. [01:26:23] Speaker A: Oh, my gosh. [01:26:25] Speaker B: Can I have nine if I literally. My whole job is literally vegan. Yeah. Do it. Out of Bing. Who? [01:26:33] Speaker A: Eleven. That's a druid. [01:26:37] Speaker B: I got a 17. [01:26:39] Speaker A: Nice. Okay. [01:26:40] Speaker B: Zach. [01:26:43] Speaker A: Well, I rolled a natural one, but I didn't get a natural one. I have a negative one. [01:26:47] Speaker B: Okay, that's so funny. What did you get? [01:26:50] Speaker A: Does that incur any kind of negative consequence for that? [01:26:54] Speaker B: You kind of. Everyone starts kind of walking away from the city, from Sun Valley, and you start looking at, like, a bug crawling across the ground, and you run into a tree, and it kind of turns you around, and you start walking the other way and. Yeah, you have to. [01:27:17] Speaker A: Well, no, I'm just. As I'm walking away, kind of rubbing my head and blinking. I go crawl. I stopped in my train. Gaff, this way. Gaff. [01:27:32] Speaker B: Turn around. [01:27:33] Speaker A: Turn around. [01:27:34] Speaker B: Gaff. [01:27:35] Speaker A: And then run after. [01:27:36] Speaker B: Okay, you got a 17. You got a 13. What you think? [01:27:39] Speaker A: 11. 11. And you got nine. [01:27:43] Speaker B: Nine. And a negative one. The three of you know which way is east and where you're going, and you start heading in the right direction. I go that way. [01:27:52] Speaker A: You're a tractor, Clara. [01:27:53] Speaker B: Yes. [01:27:55] Speaker A: Lead the way, and I'll provide assistance where I can. [01:27:57] Speaker B: I've never actually tracked anywhere without bats, so it's gonna. [01:28:01] Speaker A: They just have to have bats in the area for her to track. Perhaps I should leave the Taj. [01:28:07] Speaker B: I normally would. Like. I track their, like, excrements. [01:28:18] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:28:19] Speaker B: So I'll find other excrements to follow. So you all remember the weird. The weird dude said two days. [01:28:28] Speaker A: Yep. [01:28:28] Speaker B: All the laughter. [01:28:29] Speaker A: Mindless. [01:28:30] Speaker B: Two days of. [01:28:31] Speaker A: Don't stop. [01:28:31] Speaker B: For how long? Like, how long are y' all walking in this direction for? [01:28:34] Speaker A: I guess until we see something. I mean, we're going east to find a building, right? [01:28:39] Speaker B: I'm doing. Let me know how I could do this, but every once in a while, I'm doing, like. I'm listening really hard for laughter. I'm investigating with my ears. [01:28:48] Speaker A: I'm doing the same. I'm doing something, but it's a single kind of check. There's no other possibility. [01:28:57] Speaker B: Okay, you guys walk. When y' all started going into the woods, it was probably about, like, three or four. Okay. And do you guys walk until it's dark? Nighttime, I guess. [01:29:09] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:29:09] Speaker B: If there's nothing else that happens, you guys don't really hear anything much during the day. There's a few birds chirping. You hear some crickets once it starts getting dark? Yes. [01:29:20] Speaker A: Jim, what do the woods look like? [01:29:22] Speaker B: Like, thank you. I forget to make descriptions sometimes. [01:29:26] Speaker A: No, I wasn't a Christmas. [01:29:28] Speaker B: No, I'm like. I'm. I'm actually saying thank you. I know it kind of sounded sarcastic. So the woods are Pretty dense. There's. The temperature, by the way, in Sun Valley is like, a really good, mild temperature. It's kind of like. It's on the edge of, like, summer and fall. Okay. It's like, going into fall, so it's like kind of like mid-70s when you go into the woods and there's a lot of tree cover. The leaves have not fallen yet or anything. It's very green. It's not dry at all. It's very, like. It probably rained here a few days ago. How close are we to the sea? Is there sea salt in the air? Are we farther enough away that it's. [01:30:11] Speaker A: I think we went in the opposite direction. Right. [01:30:14] Speaker B: When the breeze. When the breeze comes. Diggle, Diggle, come here. You want a pretzel? You come up here when there's a breeze through the trees, you can kind of. Your pretzel is in your chair. David tells you when a breeze comes from the west, you might can get a little bit of sea air. You're probably. When you first entered the woods, you were probably about 15 miles from the sea. Maybe that. Okay, so we're talking, like, Houston almost. [01:30:58] Speaker A: But if it was. [01:30:58] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. So you're going into the woods. It's a little bit muggy, but it's not. It's not hot or anything. Did you take his pretzel? [01:31:06] Speaker A: He did. [01:31:07] Speaker B: Come up here. Do you want this? You want this? You come up here. So it feels. It feels pretty nice. And in the shade, it's really nice. The trees are really dense and thick. There's several different trees. I am not the nature person that a lot of you guys are. There's a lot of oak trees. Really, really tall, dense. And there's a lot of. There's a lot of chatter in the forest. I mean, it's not a quiet forest, but it's very much nature. Like, you're hearing bugs fly by and dragonflies and cicadas. You see. Yeah, a few. You see a rabbit hop by at one point, some squirrels way high up in the trees and. Yeah, it's just. It's actually really nice. Really nice. Really peaceful. Once it starts getting dark, you do start hearing more of that, like, buzzing noise of the forest. [01:32:12] Speaker A: So there's. There's insects all around. Can I try to eat some? [01:32:16] Speaker B: Sure. Do. Do an. [01:32:22] Speaker A: Like, an attack roll? [01:32:23] Speaker B: Yeah, do an attack roll for a bug. I don't know. [01:32:30] Speaker A: It's usually around, like, 14. [01:32:31] Speaker B: Okay. [01:32:32] Speaker A: Really? Yeah. [01:32:33] Speaker B: What'd you roll? 15. Okay. You see the most beautiful monarch butterfly flyby, and it lands Right on your. On your beak. I'm walking around with Mallon like this. We've got our arms interlocked, and I'm going, see, I told you. This is the weather. The breeze is nice and cool, and there's just a little bit of a. There's a. Just a little bit of a sea breeze, but not too often. [01:33:09] Speaker A: So build a nice deck with this wood, too. [01:33:11] Speaker B: You could build it. We could build a nice deck, and we could find plenty of shade. And I really think. I think. Well, I think. What do you think? I feel like you're not. I feel like you're not. I feel like I don't. I feel like it's too dark. [01:33:23] Speaker A: You produce a flame. [01:33:24] Speaker B: Okay. It's. It's, like, dark now. Like, it's now like, eight or nine. [01:33:29] Speaker A: I have to spend time in it, though. I like to think that cruel as he grabs his tooth, like, from his necklace, and he, like, kind of speaks some Druidic words in and from the tooth itself, like, a little spout of flame comes onto his hand because he casts pretty flame, and he just, like, lights up the area for you for us to walk in. [01:33:47] Speaker B: Right? [01:33:47] Speaker A: And I'm just like. [01:33:49] Speaker B: What's your passive perception? 17. Okay. The moment that you light that up out of the corner of your eye, you. I know I'm gonna get the sound wrong, and you're gonna tell me that's not what that sounds like. But you hear, like, a. And up in the tree, you see, like, this beautiful. Almost, like, iridescently purplish, but black. Huge. Like. Not like. Not like huge, but just like a big raven. I call back at it. You call back at. Just. It looks directly at you, and then it kind of. It kind of tilts Cox's head and then flies off. [01:34:38] Speaker A: Where. What direction. [01:34:40] Speaker B: What direction does it fly off? Do a nature. [01:34:45] Speaker A: I look at Craig or Krug. I look at the bird, I point in the direction of the bird, I point at Craig, and I go. [01:34:51] Speaker B: Flies east. Okay. [01:34:53] Speaker A: All right. [01:34:53] Speaker B: Why do you keep saying Craig? It does fly east. The raven. Do you guys. Do you guys bed down for the night, or do you keep going? How far away? Never mind. [01:35:03] Speaker A: We have no idea how far we're gonna. [01:35:04] Speaker B: I'm used to traveling through the night. Well, he's like. For two days, I think, like, she's used to traveling through the night, and then she kind of, like, looks around and sees maybe some people. Are anyone getting tired? [01:35:18] Speaker A: We're old. [01:35:19] Speaker B: Okay. She notices y' all kind of, like, staggering, slowing down. Yeah, yeah. [01:35:26] Speaker A: I notice you falling over. [01:35:27] Speaker B: I notice you pushing each there. [01:35:29] Speaker A: I completely faced. I can see you reaching for your life alert. [01:35:36] Speaker B: Back up. Do you guys need to sit and take a breath or say for the night, what you feeling? [01:35:46] Speaker A: Good question. [01:35:47] Speaker B: Thank you. It came from my mind. [01:35:49] Speaker A: That's good. At least it didn't come from anywhere else. [01:35:52] Speaker B: I got a book of questions, but we about it. [01:35:55] Speaker A: What? [01:35:56] Speaker B: What? [01:35:57] Speaker A: Do we want to sleep for the night or keep trying? [01:36:00] Speaker B: What you think? I say we. I say we sleep for sleep for the night. [01:36:03] Speaker A: Do we want to keep watch in these? [01:36:05] Speaker B: I can. I can keep watch. I keep. I don't know if you can watch all. How many fingers am I holding up? If you watch all night, you'll be all. [01:36:20] Speaker A: Can I make a check to try. [01:36:21] Speaker B: And figure out how many fingers. That. That was an intelligence check. [01:36:25] Speaker A: Oh, no. [01:36:26] Speaker B: Yeah. You know how many fingers? [01:36:29] Speaker A: Oh, get on. 4. [01:36:34] Speaker B: I said, you know. Oh, I was doing what you do to me. Unless you rolled a negative. You knew how many fingers? [01:36:43] Speaker A: How much was that? Four. [01:36:47] Speaker B: Very, very good. [01:36:52] Speaker A: Do you want to do first watch? [01:36:53] Speaker B: Yes, I can. You're going to get some sleep. [01:36:56] Speaker A: Who would like to do second? Gath gather dogs. [01:37:01] Speaker B: I can help on second. [01:37:03] Speaker A: You want to do second to a gap sleep? He looks like melon. Looks like kind of mortified for a second. How dare you? Would you like to do sir Hood. I guess that's where it's fallen. I will take the. [01:37:18] Speaker B: He should. He never wakes up. Harry is the hardest person to wake up. We should definitely have two people. [01:37:28] Speaker A: I start digging because you snore so much that I can't sleep. [01:37:31] Speaker B: You stay home to sleep in or. [01:37:33] Speaker A: Start digging to. [01:37:40] Speaker B: Speed things along just for people's time. Everyone roll a D20 for me. [01:37:49] Speaker A: Oh, no. [01:37:50] Speaker B: Is this initiative? No, just a straight D20. You got a 6? 15. Oh, a 15. [01:37:55] Speaker A: As Gastrodox would say a 4. It's actually 3. [01:37:58] Speaker B: I got a. I got a 4. Okay. [01:38:02] Speaker A: I got a 15. [01:38:03] Speaker B: You got a 15? [01:38:03] Speaker A: 16. [01:38:05] Speaker B: Okay. So you got the highest. [01:38:06] Speaker A: I did. [01:38:06] Speaker B: And you got the lowest? [01:38:07] Speaker A: I guess. Yeah. [01:38:08] Speaker B: Okay, so that's what we're gonna do. So the. So y' all two. During your. During. Actually, no. What? Wellbe. Celia. [01:38:21] Speaker A: Clara. [01:38:22] Speaker B: Clara. I. I get it now, guys. I get it. I'm so sorry everybody's so sassy, but you're trying to remember my day. I think that sometimes. And I'm like, I get it now. Welby. Celia. Clara. Oh, my God. Why is Celia in my head? Her name? Wellbee. Claire. I'm gonna Write it on. Clara. The way that her name is spelled is where you have to say it with a Scottish accent. Clara Welby. Clara and dash. Okay. Yalls watches are pretty, pretty chill. Not much is going on. You see some bugs. Yes. [01:39:02] Speaker A: Can I talk to Wellbe on my watch? [01:39:04] Speaker B: Sure. [01:39:07] Speaker A: Wellbeing. Shame. Wellbe. Oh, can I see what this is? Yeah, go for it. Mine's the 20. Why did you want to be my friend? I have a bigger version of it, too. [01:39:19] Speaker B: Well, you said. You said, my name is Gatha girl. And then you said, well, but my friends call me Gaff. And I thought. I thought, well, I thought that wasn't even taken to call you Gath. I was just clarifying. I thought you wanted to be friends. So I was like, well, are we gonna be friends? And then you said, yeah. And then I just thought that. I guess I just thought that we were friends then, because you were. You said, that's what my friends call me. And normally people don't. I just assumed since you offered it up, that you meant we should be friends. So I'm just clarifying the DM lie. Cause Mallon's always saying, oh, you got it. You misunderstand. You listen just a little bit, and then you never, you know, I don't listen all the way. So I'm just trying to. I'm trying to practice clarification. [01:40:13] Speaker A: As she is giving this speech. I'm like kind of sitting not far away, rolled over. I just kind of go and just kind of turn over a little bit more. You say so many words. [01:40:27] Speaker B: Well, you know, it's really. When you've been married for 150 years, you really got to practice communication. And words are the most important part of communication. [01:40:35] Speaker A: What. What's communism? [01:40:42] Speaker B: Communism is where you talk to someone. [01:40:46] Speaker A: Communication. [01:40:48] Speaker B: Communication is where you talk to. It's where you have an idea in your head and you wanna. You want the other person to have the same idea. So you use words, as many of them as you gotta use. And it's for as long as you got to use them, as many as you got to use. And as long as you got to use to make sure that the other idea is in the other person's head. It's like an exchange of ideas. And then when there's different. Well, and then when there's different ideas, you gotta be quiet like this. [01:41:22] Speaker A: I can do that. [01:41:23] Speaker B: While the other person uses their words to communicate. And then you think about. This is the important part. Because a lot of times you can be thinking, oh, I'm Listening. I'm being quiet. But really in your inside of the head you're just thinking about what you're gonna communicate next. So you really gotta stop the words coming out of your mouth and also the words in your brain. And you gotta listen and think only about the words in the other person's mouth and think. So you gotta quiet your mouth, quiet your brain. And then, and then listen to the communication and take a minute, a pause where you're both quiet, nobody's talking, and then you think and then you communicate your thoughts on the based upon the other person's thoughts. So there's a little bit of quiet. And then one person makes words and you be quiet. Yeah. And you make quiet in your. Would you like to make quiet in your mind also? [01:42:21] Speaker A: Okay. [01:42:21] Speaker B: And then you think about their words and then you make your words in response to their words. [01:42:30] Speaker A: You're so smart. [01:42:32] Speaker B: Well, being in a marriage for 150 years does not get you nowhere. It really does get you somewhere and it's not. It's really a place to be somewhere. [01:42:46] Speaker A: Do you and Mallon love each other? [01:42:50] Speaker B: Yes. All of a sudden, during your conversation, you hear a loud cry of a raven. [01:42:57] Speaker A: I pull out a hand ax and I look for where the sound came from. Attack. [01:43:04] Speaker B: We're under attack. [01:43:07] Speaker A: I scream. We're under attack. [01:43:09] Speaker B: You all wake up. [01:43:10] Speaker A: Oh, I was already awake. [01:43:11] Speaker B: But no, you don't wake up. Okay, I say I climb. My God. That's it. That's all there is. Oh my gosh. If you can't just keep talking, I'm gonna have dreams about fighting. Just shut up. [01:43:22] Speaker A: Where did it come from? [01:43:24] Speaker B: Where did it come from? [01:43:25] Speaker A: What direction? That's the raven. [01:43:30] Speaker B: East again. About, about 20ft away. [01:43:35] Speaker A: So DM, I have dark vision. [01:43:37] Speaker B: Okay. [01:43:38] Speaker A: Can I see the raven? Can I see. It's like the same. [01:43:41] Speaker B: You don't see a raven. [01:43:42] Speaker A: Do we have any light source around us right now? [01:43:44] Speaker B: I don't know, do you? [01:43:45] Speaker A: I mean like, like did we, did we have a fire set or anything? I don't know, did we? I didn't. I'm gonna assume probably no then, because no one. So darkvision doesn't help us in total darkness, right? [01:43:54] Speaker B: Dm, no. [01:43:56] Speaker A: Okay, so pitch black. I was looking the wrong way the whole time. I was talking to Welby. [01:44:02] Speaker B: So your watch, during your watch. [01:44:05] Speaker A: I'm up now. [01:44:06] Speaker B: During your watch, pop out of my ship. I don't know what is happening, happening over there. [01:44:10] Speaker A: I know it is. [01:44:13] Speaker B: During your watch you do a perception check for. Well, do you, do you Cast any light or anything? [01:44:22] Speaker A: I mean. Yeah, if it wakes anyone up or if it's attracting too much attention, I will let go of it immediately. [01:44:30] Speaker B: Okay, but you have a light again. [01:44:31] Speaker A: Yeah, just to make sure. Just to. I mean, it's about 30ft, so anything that comes within that. I'm trying to make sure I stay that. [01:44:40] Speaker B: Do a perception check for him. [01:44:41] Speaker A: Love fail me now. 15. [01:44:45] Speaker B: 15. In the tree above you. All of a sudden you hear like a. Just like, on the branch. And just walking on the branch and looking down at you is that same regular that was earlier? [01:45:04] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:45:05] Speaker B: And it just. It just stays there for. I mean, do you do anything? [01:45:11] Speaker A: Does it seem to have intelligence beyond its supposed capabilities? [01:45:16] Speaker B: Do an insight check. [01:45:17] Speaker A: I would love to do an insight check for you. Dm While I'm asleep. My head is in the whole library. 25. [01:45:30] Speaker B: Yeah. It seems to have something about the look in its eye. It seems to be. I mean, you're. You're a druid. You. You know animals. This does not look like. I mean, it does look like the eyes of a raven, but it doesn't. It, like, the eyes know more than they shed. [01:45:55] Speaker A: They're gleaming a little brighter than they. [01:45:57] Speaker B: Usually do, and it just kind of stares at you for a while. [01:46:02] Speaker A: In my other hand, I like to cast, ruin crap, to bruise seeds. And once the seeds have been produced, I bring out my flame. I like the raven and I gesture. [01:46:11] Speaker B: Do a persuasion check for me. [01:46:13] Speaker A: Yes. That's what I'm made for. [01:46:16] Speaker B: Ooh. [01:46:17] Speaker A: 15. Yeah. It was only the dice. [01:46:21] Speaker B: Yeah, it. Actually, I'm going to. [01:46:29] Speaker A: Yeah. Intelligence was also my job, so. [01:46:34] Speaker B: Okay, it's. It's gonna swoop down and it's not gonna land. It's just gonna kind of graze by your hand and kind of of take some of the seeds out and fly back up. Do you try to do anything? [01:46:52] Speaker A: I'm trying to grab it. [01:46:53] Speaker B: You try to grab it. [01:46:54] Speaker A: Legs, whichever thing is closest to my. [01:46:56] Speaker B: Hand to grab my grab. So do a. I guess. Would that be attack? I mean, you're not trying to, like, hurt it? [01:47:03] Speaker A: I could do a sleight of hand. [01:47:04] Speaker B: Yeah. Do sleight of. Do sleight of hand. Yeah. [01:47:08] Speaker A: 17. [01:47:10] Speaker B: Okay. Yeah. You. Do you, like, try to, like, hard, or do you just kind of, like, gentle or. [01:47:19] Speaker A: Enough to keep it from moving. And once I have it, if it. [01:47:23] Speaker B: Starts to do something, it kind of. The moment you try to, like, kind of grab onto it, it kind of. It kind of stays and it sits in your hand. [01:47:32] Speaker A: Oh, like, stays and sits in my hand. [01:47:34] Speaker B: As in, like, it doesn't sit down. Like, you don't have to grab it. Like, it. It stops back and it just kind of like its feet kind of prance on your hand for a minute and then tries to fly off again. Can you try to grab it again? [01:48:00] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm gonna try to keep it if I could. [01:48:02] Speaker B: You try to keep it. Okay. Okay. Do another sleight of hands. Yeah. [01:48:07] Speaker A: Nat. 20 for 22. [01:48:09] Speaker B: Okay. Yeah. You. You grab it. [01:48:11] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, I. I grab it and I pin it to the ground. [01:48:14] Speaker B: Okay. [01:48:15] Speaker A: And I'm. Did I realize you were a druid? Like, would you have a symbol? I feel like in. In our walking, we would have figured it out. Figured it out. Perfect. M easy to roll over. What now you speak with animals? Actually, no, I don't speak with them. Sometimes they yell at me though. Yeah, this one's yelling at me. [01:48:45] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:48:46] Speaker A: You speak with animals. [01:48:51] Speaker B: I'm full of bats. But I only. I only know how to track bat voices. I don't really know how to. Do I speak with animals? No. [01:48:59] Speaker A: No. Okay. [01:49:00] Speaker B: Dang. But I can tell you if it's angry. It's pretty easy to tell. [01:49:06] Speaker A: Well, I do have it pinned to the ground. [01:49:07] Speaker B: Oh, it's probably pretty bad. For what it's worth. It's letting you. [01:49:12] Speaker A: It's letting uon terrifying. [01:49:14] Speaker B: It's not fighting it. I can't figure out if it's what it is. [01:49:21] Speaker A: Can I? Am I woken up by the talking? My head rises out of the hole I've dug in the ground. Ground covered in dirt. And I go. I speak bird. Is this the same kind of bird? And I can't reason that. Before you go. I flex the abs in my neck. The what? [01:49:45] Speaker B: What do you do? You try to talk. [01:49:49] Speaker A: I waddle down and I got on eye level with the raven. [01:49:53] Speaker B: Do you think his neck, just like. [01:49:57] Speaker A: My body didn't move my neck, My neck just lowered. But all of the lowering looked like flexing. And I lower down and I look into the eyes of the raven. [01:50:06] Speaker B: Okay. What do you do? You just look into the eyes or. [01:50:18] Speaker A: And I say to him in bird. [01:50:23] Speaker B: Do you actually speak bird? Or. [01:50:24] Speaker A: Yeah, gallus folks speak. [01:50:26] Speaker B: I didn't know if you were actually now dm. [01:50:28] Speaker A: This is a bird language spoken by bird people. And I'm not very smart, so I don't know if this applies at all. [01:50:33] Speaker B: Okay. [01:50:34] Speaker A: It's up to your determination. But in bird, I say, hey, how you doing? Let me whisper in your ear, tell you something that you might like, to hear. [01:50:44] Speaker B: What are you holding the raven vine? [01:50:47] Speaker A: My hand is. [01:50:48] Speaker B: But, like, is it on its beak? Is it on its, like, body? [01:50:51] Speaker A: In the middle of its body? Yeah, I'm holding its body, not controlling its head, but so maybe like, the head's peeking out here and the body's left. [01:51:00] Speaker B: How close are you to the bird? [01:51:02] Speaker A: Yes. I don't know. Like, that's a great question. Two inches away. [01:51:04] Speaker B: Two inches away. Does a 15 hit you? [01:51:16] Speaker A: Nope. [01:51:16] Speaker B: No. Okay. The bird tries to. [01:51:20] Speaker A: As he goes to peck me, I just open my mouth and close my beak around his beak and I slide my beak up his face until I'm like half swallowing his mouth. And from my eyes into his eyes, I just look and I go. Can I make an intimidation check? [01:51:36] Speaker B: Sure. Intimidation is charisma, right? [01:51:39] Speaker A: Yeah. Well, there is a ruling that some, but not all DMs utilize, and I want to ask your permission. I demand it. Some DMs allow barbarians to use their strength modifier instead of their charisma modifier on intimidation checks. But I just want to present the possibility because you are the. [01:51:54] Speaker B: Yeah, I like that. I mean, you have it. You have it beacon in your mouth. So. Yes. [01:52:00] Speaker A: Could I, while this is all happening, Drew Crafton to make a little tiny rope to rope around its leg while it's distracted by being eaten. [01:52:11] Speaker B: Okay. [01:52:12] Speaker A: Distracted. I got a 15. [01:52:18] Speaker B: You got a 15? Do I make it? [01:52:20] Speaker A: You could make an insight check to see if it could. It's up to you on whether or not you're setting a DC that I'm passing or if it's rolling closed. That's right up to you. [01:52:29] Speaker B: I'm gonna. Okay, okay. You've scared it a little. [01:52:37] Speaker A: Okay. I slide my beak back down its bill and I. And I, I, like, lean up to it till we're eye to eye, looking sideways in each other's eyes now. And I just whisper and bird. [01:52:47] Speaker B: Okay. [01:52:48] Speaker A: Tell me your sweet, sweet secrets, little bird. [01:52:51] Speaker B: Okay. [01:52:53] Speaker A: I haven't bathed in blood in a while, but it just sounds like. [01:52:59] Speaker B: Okay. Will you do a sleight of hand check to do the. [01:53:03] Speaker A: Yeah. I cast guidance. It hasn't happened in a while. It requires. You can see my. My, my rope draining. Yeah. [01:53:14] Speaker B: I kind of like your shoulder. As I have a question as. As the dm and tell me if this is unfair. [01:53:20] Speaker A: Okay. [01:53:20] Speaker B: But because you're catching casting and I'm gonna see you cast on him, I'll let you decide if you still want to do it. Okay. [01:53:30] Speaker A: Okay. [01:53:30] Speaker B: But I think because you're casting and it's gonna cause a little bit of magic to happen. He's gonna have to roll at disadvantage because it's gonna make me look. It's gonna make the raven look that way. [01:53:42] Speaker A: But he still gets the guidance. [01:53:44] Speaker B: He still gets guidance, but he has to roll it as advantage. [01:53:47] Speaker A: You're the dm. If that ruling makes sense to you, it's perfect. Does your character do it or no? [01:53:51] Speaker B: No. [01:53:53] Speaker A: Yeah, I think you would, Tiny. I'm not lying here. I got a 16 as my disadvantage. [01:54:03] Speaker B: Okay? [01:54:04] Speaker A: So I got that plus four, plus two. So 22. Whoa. Is that going to play every time I do guidance? [01:54:11] Speaker B: No, no, no. That's just in this moment. [01:54:13] Speaker A: Cuz he was trying to be sneaky, and then. [01:54:15] Speaker B: Cuz he was doing slide of hand. Yeah, he was trying to not the bird. The raven is too focused on the fact that we're big. Bird has. [01:54:27] Speaker A: I'm pulsing the muscles in my neck. [01:54:29] Speaker B: Can I. While this is happening, can I cast. I'm gonna cast attack magic. Okay, good. [01:54:35] Speaker A: Good idea. [01:54:38] Speaker B: Okay. [01:54:38] Speaker A: Do you mark off a spell slot for that? [01:54:39] Speaker B: Nope. [01:54:40] Speaker A: Oh, okay. That's really cool. [01:54:42] Speaker B: It's a warlock. [01:54:43] Speaker A: An invocation. I'm so sorry for trying to get all up in your biz. Would you say this? Forgive me. I'm not trying to be a. She is biz. Schn. That's great. [01:54:54] Speaker B: That is so funny. [01:54:58] Speaker A: Cuts to me together getting all their checks wrong. [01:55:01] Speaker B: My co worker will randomly walk up to us and go, no laughing. And we all joke that she's the undercover boss. [01:55:07] Speaker A: Does she do that? Seriously? [01:55:08] Speaker B: No. It's all. It's so funny. She'll go up to a spot where we're laughing. She goes, no laughing. And it's just hilarious because she's also laughing. So she's our undercover boss. She's like. She's also like a perfectionist. Is. She's so great. I love her. She's giving. Gifting me decorations. [01:55:23] Speaker A: Why do you dislike her so much? Do you. [01:55:25] Speaker B: I love her. [01:55:28] Speaker A: No, Ma, you dislike it. Always dislike her. [01:55:30] Speaker B: I did not. Oh, hey, Ma. [01:55:34] Speaker A: I think we might have distracted ourselves out of whatever was happening. [01:55:37] Speaker B: No, I was looking something up, so I was just giving. Okay, so you. You tie the rope around. Do you do anything besides tie the rope around one of the legs after. [01:55:47] Speaker A: The bird doesn't respond? Probably whenever this happens, I do letting. [01:55:51] Speaker B: Okay. [01:55:52] Speaker A: It didn't respond at all to the intimidation. And it's funny if it didn't. It didn't respond after the intimidation check. It did not feel motivated to. Answer me. [01:55:58] Speaker B: No. [01:55:59] Speaker A: Okay. [01:56:00] Speaker B: It did not. It stays quiet. And then. Okay. [01:56:03] Speaker A: I point at the bird. I look at Krug. I do the finger across my neck. And then the question. I just look disappointed. Not yet. [01:56:11] Speaker B: Abby, you said your character casts detect magic? Yes. On. Tell me the details of that, just so I know what to. What am I show? What am I telling you? What's going on? [01:56:25] Speaker A: Yeah, Yeah. [01:56:28] Speaker B: I sense further duration. Up to 10 minutes. I sense the presence of magic within 30ft of me. If I sense magic in this way, I can use my action to see a faint aura around any visible creature or object in the area that bears magic. And you learn its school, if any. [01:56:43] Speaker A: Do you need another drink? Yeah. Yes. Water. [01:56:52] Speaker B: I just had so much. Don't. Don't look at my screen. [01:57:03] Speaker A: I'm not going. [01:57:04] Speaker B: You did find a split second. [01:57:07] Speaker A: No, I actually. The moment my eyes went over it, I, like, unfocused them, you know? You can do that? Yeah. [01:57:13] Speaker B: I love these cloth clips. I wonder who got them for you. Those are the only ones that I have that, like, don't break in an instant. [01:57:20] Speaker A: Yeah. They get lost in your. Instead. [01:57:22] Speaker B: In your what? [01:57:25] Speaker A: Car accidents. [01:57:26] Speaker B: You see, I don't know what color it is, but you see, like a. You see a head. Yeah. You see pink matte. No. Oh, no, no, no. You see purplish magic. Do I know what school that associates around the. Around the Raven. Okay, do an arcana check for me. Thank you. Oh, I got a seven. You don't quite know what kind of magic this is, but you know, there is magic surrounding. Okay. I asked my. I asked my team. I say. I say, guys, this. This. This. This bird's got like a. Or I say, I. I go, mallon, Malad. Mallon. What was the. When we were studying and I was in my. I was in my leadership class. What was the. What was the purple aura? The purple light when we were doing magic? [01:58:38] Speaker A: Yeah. Can I make a check? [01:58:40] Speaker B: Yes. [01:58:41] Speaker A: Arcana or arcano. Yeah, it's gonna be a 21. [01:58:51] Speaker B: Crap. You know it to be transmutation. Math. [01:59:02] Speaker A: Love. It's transmutation. So what does that mean? It means that this bird is not always a bird. Yeah. His eyes are too green. [01:59:13] Speaker B: It starts. It starts kind of. Kind of cooing. Almost cooing. It starts cooing. [01:59:21] Speaker A: I feel like you should let it go. I let it go. [01:59:23] Speaker B: You let it go? [01:59:24] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:59:25] Speaker B: Okay. [01:59:25] Speaker A: After it leaves, I would like to talk to. [01:59:28] Speaker B: It circles, y'. All. Once, once, twice, and then flies off into these. [01:59:34] Speaker A: I put a rope on it. I'll find it again. [01:59:37] Speaker B: Did you have the rope? Was the rope still tied to it? Okay, good to know. When it flew off. How long the rope last? Like, not very long. [01:59:47] Speaker A: As much I can make sure it stays on. [01:59:49] Speaker B: Okay. [01:59:50] Speaker A: But not very long. [01:59:51] Speaker B: Okay. Not like. [01:59:52] Speaker A: Feels the wind to me. I started looking around to the rope. [01:59:57] Speaker B: Okay. Do you guys. Okay. What do you guys do? [02:00:00] Speaker A: That's. Is it the middle of the night? [02:00:03] Speaker B: It's like. It's like 4am Two more hours. [02:00:06] Speaker A: I make you two hours. [02:00:10] Speaker B: Thank you. [02:00:11] Speaker A: Is it. Is it the start of my watch? [02:00:12] Speaker B: Yeah, it's the start of his watch. [02:00:14] Speaker A: Please. I grab your arm. I do. I do three sets of 20 squats, then I do 30 neck ups. And then I go to sleep. That's why I can't hear anything. [02:00:32] Speaker B: Malin, your watch is pretty. Not much going on. Okay. Except. [02:00:39] Speaker A: Oh, no. [02:00:40] Speaker B: Except you die at like 5:50. Like. Like the sun is coming up. [02:00:45] Speaker A: Okay. [02:00:46] Speaker B: And from probably about. I don't know, it's hard to tell. What. Do a perception check for me. [02:00:59] Speaker A: It's gonna be 19. [02:01:00] Speaker B: Okay. It's like. It feels like. Okay. Is it coming from right next to me or is it coming from like 100ft away? You hear a. [02:01:14] Speaker A: DM, come get me. I'm scared. [02:01:20] Speaker B: And it's just kind of. It's bouncing around the forest. You cannot tell where it's coming from. And that goes on for about 20 seconds. And then dead silence. [02:01:31] Speaker A: He's like. [02:01:32] Speaker B: And it gets real close, and then it gets far and it's like echoing through. And then the sun rises. You guys, do you wake up? Do you wake up the rest of your morning? [02:01:45] Speaker A: No, I died. [02:01:48] Speaker B: As I'm. I have like. I'm talking to my sleep and I'm like, actually, I don't do that. [02:01:54] Speaker A: I'm gonna. As the sun peeks up, I'm gonna. Welby. Welby. [02:01:58] Speaker B: Malin Mallon Welby Malin. What? [02:02:00] Speaker A: I heard laughing. [02:02:01] Speaker B: It's time for breakfast. What are you gonna make for breakfast, Malin? [02:02:03] Speaker A: I don't know. I don't have it anything to make breakfast with. Did you hear laughing at all? [02:02:07] Speaker B: No, I was asleep. [02:02:09] Speaker A: Where'd you hear the laughing ever? It was like, over here and over here and behind me and over there. Well, it kind of went everywhere. Dm. When was. Where was the last direction it came from? At the very end. [02:02:22] Speaker B: Can I guess? East. [02:02:24] Speaker A: It was east. Okay. Well, I think we're heading in the right direction. [02:02:28] Speaker B: Raising my hand. Oh, I'm sorry, Micah. Yes, you guessed. [02:02:32] Speaker A: Before. [02:02:34] Speaker B: It wakes up, I'm gonna Minor illusion. Five additional fingers on each hand. Okay. On gas. Do you have. Do you have fingers? [02:02:45] Speaker A: Yeah. [02:02:45] Speaker B: Okay. [02:02:46] Speaker A: I have hands. [02:02:46] Speaker B: That's what I thought. So now you have to. I don't know if they're, like, feathery or. Okay. Just to kind of, like, confuse them. Oh, what you got there? All right. Oh, what you got there? Doesn't look right. I got some. Your axes. You can cut them off. Just kidding. [02:03:12] Speaker A: Don't do that. I know that Claire was very smart, and I know that she knows magic. [02:03:20] Speaker B: Do an Arcana check. [02:03:29] Speaker A: 13. [02:03:31] Speaker B: You. You start, like, freaking out and doing this, and you realize you don't. You don't feel.5 extra. [02:03:38] Speaker A: I move 5. I move 5 of them, but the other 5 don't move. [02:03:41] Speaker B: That's some. That's weird. That's just. They're just there, but they're not there. [02:03:46] Speaker A: I go up to Welby. [02:03:51] Speaker B: What's up? [02:03:52] Speaker A: I have knife hands. [02:03:54] Speaker B: You have what? [02:03:55] Speaker A: I have knife hands. [02:03:56] Speaker B: You have knife hands? [02:03:57] Speaker A: My hands are knives. [02:03:59] Speaker B: They don't look like knives. Are they sharp? [02:04:01] Speaker A: I can't do anything. I can't pet my cat. [02:04:04] Speaker B: Do you have a cat? [02:04:04] Speaker A: What am I gonna do with knife hands? Be a chef. Just chop, chop, chop. I don't wanna do that. [02:04:10] Speaker B: Not chop that. Hey, I love chefs. I'm trying to get Madeline to be the chef, and he says, I don't wanna cook. I don't wanna cook. I don't wanna cook. [02:04:21] Speaker A: Where's the sound? [02:04:22] Speaker B: East. [02:04:22] Speaker A: I. I pull out an ax and I run east. I'm running after the sound. I'm dashing after the sound. I'm. I'm dashing down the sound with an axe in my hand. I was learning with the ax. I go, okay. And I. I'm just flapping my wings with an axe in my hand. [02:04:43] Speaker B: Everyone make a survival team deck, please. [02:04:45] Speaker A: I would love to. [02:04:46] Speaker B: Do I get to make sure you're going in the right direction? 8, 8, 8. [02:04:50] Speaker A: Dirty. [02:04:50] Speaker B: 20, 30, 20, 11, 11, 12. What did you get? [02:04:56] Speaker A: Negative one. [02:04:57] Speaker B: Wonderful. [02:04:58] Speaker A: I'm not kidding. [02:04:59] Speaker B: I would say it's my fourth natural one of this session, thanks to your wonderful druid. Both of your druids. You're figuring it out, and you start going in the right direction, and you run this way for. You don't hear any more laughter, but are you still, like, going. [02:05:19] Speaker A: Well, what did I get with my negative one at full speed, you ran. [02:05:23] Speaker B: In the opposite direction. And Clara had to. I had to look at my arm that I ran. And Clara. Clara, Clara, Clara, Clara grabbed your hand and Pulled you the right way. [02:05:39] Speaker A: You almost got him, Clara. [02:05:40] Speaker B: I almost got him. You guys. Do you guys keep going? Like, y' all stop? [02:05:45] Speaker A: I guess we're plotting along. [02:05:48] Speaker B: Okay. You go this way for the better part of the day for. Until probably about. I mean, you got up at like 6:30. Probably until about, like, little afternoon. [02:05:59] Speaker A: Oh, wow. At afternoon. Can I cast. Locate object on that? Yes. [02:06:04] Speaker B: Yeah. [02:06:07] Speaker A: 1,000Ft. [02:06:08] Speaker B: It's 1,000ft. Yeah. So, okay. Yeah. [02:06:16] Speaker A: And I take it off of my rotund shell area, I put it on the ground. I just start chanting druidic and draconic. And as I, like, begin to continue to chant, the. The tooth of a very large creature begins to float into the air. And like this, like, frost and fire and all these other types of elements come off as it rotates to find where it's supposed to be going. That's awesome. That's awesome. Glass, fire, lightning. [02:06:50] Speaker B: You. You get the. You get the vibes. You get the vibes from it. [02:06:55] Speaker A: Vibes. [02:06:57] Speaker B: You. You start walking. It's. It's still east. You start walking, and as you're walking, it starts. That's weird. You're still feeling the sense of the object. You're going towards it. Starting to get a little colder. Oh, that's weird. Not like, too colder. Just like a little chill to the air, which is weird because it's like afternoon. The sun is directly in the sky, guy. And you see in front of you, it's getting. Wait, you're, like, sticking out your hands. You're looking forward. Why can't. Where are the trees? Oh, it's getting kind of foggy. [02:07:47] Speaker A: Mind the mist. [02:07:49] Speaker B: And then you look down. There's the rope. [02:07:58] Speaker A: Led me in the wrong direction. Would it serve us to turn the music down only one or two notches? Dm. Can I make maybe a history check to remember the exact wording of what the figure in the alleyway said? Drop out the mist. [02:08:17] Speaker B: He said, find the mistake. In two days time. [02:08:21] Speaker A: Find the mist. [02:08:22] Speaker B: Yeah. [02:08:22] Speaker A: Follow the laughter. Find the mist. [02:08:24] Speaker B: Follow the laughter, Find the mist. In two days time, your search will cease. So I. I say we found the mist. So does that mean don't stop for death? Don't veer out of one sight. Stay together to fix the blight. [02:08:39] Speaker A: I hold up a hand and I go. Wait. [02:08:41] Speaker B: I say. I say gas. [02:08:43] Speaker A: I think we have to go east. Yeah. [02:08:48] Speaker B: Yes. Remember when I said earlier. [02:08:50] Speaker A: No. [02:08:52] Speaker B: Earlier, we were talking about how we're friends. [02:08:56] Speaker A: Yes. [02:08:56] Speaker B: Well, okay. I need to tell you something. Friends always stick together. [02:09:01] Speaker A: I pull out my 50ft of hemp and rope. Oh, there we go. [02:09:05] Speaker B: We're friends here. That's up to you. But you and me are friends, right? [02:09:12] Speaker A: Ticket? [02:09:13] Speaker B: So we have to stay together. So even if there's something that is gonna. Sorry. [02:09:18] Speaker A: I'm tying a rope around you. [02:09:20] Speaker B: Even if there's something that is gonna attack, you gotta stick together to protect the friends, to stay with the friends. Don't run away. [02:09:30] Speaker A: Tie it on him. I just take the rope and I. I like. I do one loop around my neck and then I. And then. No. Oh, you can't take it. And then I flex my muscles till they, like, wrap around the. As they tighten. I just go. Yeah. And I tie off the knot. [02:09:51] Speaker B: The mist is starting to roll towards you. The fog is starting to get a little thicker. [02:09:56] Speaker A: I pull out my hand axes. [02:09:57] Speaker B: Does anyone want to do any kind of check? See what this is like? It's been a nice sunny day. Like maybe a couple clouds. [02:10:05] Speaker A: Can I do a nature check to and give guidance? [02:10:09] Speaker B: Can I do. Can I do an arcan check? [02:10:14] Speaker A: I also lose concentration. [02:10:18] Speaker B: Okay. Yeah. With my knowledge check magic again. Is it a D4 for things? I do it with my knowledge of nature. [02:10:27] Speaker A: By turning the music down. [02:10:28] Speaker B: Yeah. I'm so sorry. [02:10:29] Speaker A: It doesn't want you to know. [02:10:31] Speaker B: Okay. You cast detect magic. You see a yellow magic. What does that mean? Do you want arcana check for me? [02:10:42] Speaker A: Maya and nature check totaled an 8 with guidance. [02:10:49] Speaker B: If it's a natural one. Most of the time you don't add anything. [02:10:53] Speaker A: That's exactly. [02:10:54] Speaker B: That's a zap. Please don't. [02:10:58] Speaker A: You can only fail attacks. [02:11:00] Speaker B: This is some weird fog, man. You saw yellow magic. You want to do an arcana check? I got. Anyone else want to do an arc? I got a 23. You got a 23? This is conjuration magic. [02:11:19] Speaker A: I don't. I'm still like squinting into the fog. [02:11:21] Speaker B: Trying to figure it out. Then conjure. Do anyone else do any checks? Nature conjure magic? Anything? No. I have. Welby has seen that. It's. There's some magic going on. Can I do identify? Would that do anything? [02:11:40] Speaker A: You have to. You have to cast a notify. [02:11:42] Speaker B: Yeah. On an object. Particles of water are an object. [02:11:47] Speaker A: And you would be casting it on that singular iota water I'm going to sustain. [02:11:55] Speaker B: You can certainly try to cast. [02:12:01] Speaker A: I want to see if there are. [02:12:02] Speaker B: Any fireballs, any enemies in the mist. Do you step in the mist? Do you step into it? I say gas. Remember, don't run away. Okay. [02:12:10] Speaker A: I thought we were all Tying into it. [02:12:13] Speaker B: It's starting to come in. [02:12:14] Speaker A: I'm looking for enemies in the mist. [02:12:16] Speaker B: But you're not going into it. No, you're standing. You're just standing still. You're standing still. [02:12:22] Speaker A: I see you trying to bait me. [02:12:23] Speaker B: No, I'm asking. I am asking so I know what you look. Okay. You stand here and you look with your eyes. So you do a perception check at no investigation because you're looking for enemies. Right. [02:12:35] Speaker A: Okay. [02:12:35] Speaker B: You're the dm, but at disadvantage because you're looking into fog. [02:12:39] Speaker A: Okay. Well, I would never. [02:12:44] Speaker B: 20. That's cool, though. Yeah. [02:12:47] Speaker A: It wasn't awesome. [02:12:49] Speaker B: Yeah, would have been cool. [02:12:50] Speaker A: Well, the other one was an 18. I got a 16. [02:12:52] Speaker B: Okay. You don't see anything in the fog. The fogs, but. Well, we did just tell you it was magical. Magical fog, yes. Can I, like, firebolt into the fog to try and like, like, light it out? You're casting a firebolt into it? Yeah, it's a cantrip fireball just to like, just to like, see if we can see a glimmer or like, reflection of something. [02:13:16] Speaker A: Right. So shall we go into. [02:13:21] Speaker B: Yeah, I guess. Yeah. Yeah, you can cast. Goes through it. You don't see the end. Nothing. Like, there's no, like, shadow or figure. You don't see a shadow or figure. You see the light go through it, but it just kind of lights up the fog and then goes through. Do I hear, like, forest fires beginning from. My mistake. I'm just kidding. [02:13:47] Speaker A: Forest fire. Wow, that's. [02:13:49] Speaker B: Well, I'm gonna say in our campaign. [02:13:51] Speaker A: Craig almost started a devastating chance. [02:13:55] Speaker B: What do you guys do? [02:13:56] Speaker A: I start walking towards the mess. I'm very heavy, so. Well, I just. I start looking at what everyone's doing because I'm supposed to stay with everyone. It depends on what everyone is doing. Yeah. We are all wrapped together. Are you pulling everyone? I. If I start to feel it, I'll start to slowly chug, but not aggressively. [02:14:18] Speaker B: Are you the first person to enter the mist? And then everyone's following. We let him go first. Okay. [02:14:24] Speaker A: I go where Welby goes. [02:14:25] Speaker B: Well, you guys are tied together, so Welby, I mean, not Welby. Okay, we have Crawl and then we have Mallon. So Crawl and then Malon. I'm gonna say Malin's pretty close behind you. Would you roll a. A con? [02:14:46] Speaker A: Save for me, Madeline, I think you have to make a saving throw next. Oh, wait, I'm sorry. [02:14:50] Speaker B: A con. Save for me, please. [02:14:51] Speaker A: While walking into the mist. [02:14:52] Speaker B: He's going into the mist and you're. [02:14:53] Speaker A: Kind of getting following him. [02:14:55] Speaker B: 15. 15. Okay. Oh, that would have been so good. [02:15:00] Speaker A: It's gonna be a five. [02:15:01] Speaker B: Ooh. Okay. [02:15:03] Speaker A: Oh, Malon died. Oh, no. [02:15:05] Speaker B: Okay. It's getting really. It's getting really, really. It's getting really, really chilly. And Malon, you are gonna take eight cold damage. Whoa. [02:15:18] Speaker A: That's a lot. [02:15:20] Speaker B: You're fine. Do you guys keep going? [02:15:24] Speaker A: I. Unless I am told otherwise. [02:15:27] Speaker B: Okay, so by this point, Welby, you're getting dragged into it. Would you make a convey for me? Yes, ma'. Am. [02:15:36] Speaker A: The moment I see Welby get pulled in, I just rush ahead, following, and I assume I'm dragging clear away. [02:15:43] Speaker B: Would you make a conveyor? I got a. [02:15:49] Speaker A: You never did. So remember, your first health is the max you can get. And then you roll four after that and you add your con every time. [02:15:57] Speaker B: I'm sorry. [02:15:58] Speaker A: 23. [02:15:59] Speaker B: And then I got a. It's really cold. But you're doing okay. [02:16:02] Speaker A: I just flex my neck really hard. Every. Every level. [02:16:06] Speaker B: Do you get dragged in? Make a con. Say for me. Yeah. [02:16:08] Speaker A: So this is so. It starts at. [02:16:10] Speaker B: So that for me. I got a 19. It's cold, but you're doing okay. I got a firebolt. Okay. You take. Do the fireball. Make it less cold. Let's just be honest here. I helped you take three points of. [02:16:30] Speaker A: Cold, damage it twice. Yeah, I saw. There we go. [02:16:37] Speaker B: So you guys are getting cold. Do you guys keep going? [02:16:40] Speaker A: I bring out my winter blanket. [02:16:41] Speaker B: Okay. [02:16:42] Speaker A: And I try to wrap it around. Oh, you mentioned that at the beginning. [02:16:45] Speaker B: Very cool. [02:16:46] Speaker A: I like, I pull a torch out of my pack and I light it on fire. [02:16:50] Speaker B: Okay. [02:16:50] Speaker A: I also continue to produce flame to try to help us not. Also, I light it on fire by putting one of the flint. By putting a piece of flint in between a couple of my neck abs and then rubbing the torch. Torch really fast back and forth. [02:17:03] Speaker B: I literally have burning hands. Okay. [02:17:05] Speaker A: Yeah, but I have a torch. Yeah, I cast. I can also cast punch. [02:17:17] Speaker B: Okay, you guys keep walking. And you keep walking. You've walked about 75, 80ft now. Keep walking. You're at the front, Carl. You can kind of see. You see something. You see clear skies. So what do you do? You keep going. [02:17:35] Speaker A: Keep going. [02:17:36] Speaker B: Okay, you guys have gone about a hundred feet through the fog. [02:17:38] Speaker A: Yeah. [02:17:39] Speaker B: And the fog starts dispersing. It's still. It's still pretty chilly, but not as chilly as it was on the bottom. [02:17:45] Speaker A: Okay. [02:17:49] Speaker B: There is. There's the fog. You. You turn back and that wall of fog is still like kind of standing there. Like, that's weird. And you realize you guys are all kind of standing there. You're tied on a rope, and you're standing kind of on top of a hill. It's not a very tall hill, but like a decent enough, you know, a hill hill. Like, not a mountain, but a hill. You'd easily walk down it. And you realize that you're looking down at some sort of. Is it. What is. That's 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. Is this a village or. There's building at those. And after you get out of that. After you get out of the. Hold on. After you get out. No, it's okay. After you come out of the fog, you're standing on top of a hill, and you are looking down at a villain. [02:19:09] Speaker A: Freaking sick dm. [02:19:12] Speaker B: You guys are right here. Oh, my gosh. And there's a hill. There's a hill about. About a couple football fields down at an entrance to a paved road. [02:19:22] Speaker A: Yo, I bet nothing bad could happen here. [02:19:27] Speaker B: And that is the end of part one. [02:19:34] Speaker A: Listener. Life's incredible adventure. [02:19:42] Speaker B: Sorry. [02:19:42] Speaker A: You're in it. An important, important work out your neck.
