I don't know how to say this in, like, player. In, like, character terms, but in player terms, like, stat terms. It would basically let you level up in learning a language, like, super fast. Like, it would give you, like, a super, super, super boost of, like. Oh, you want to learn insignia? [00:03:31] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:03:31] Speaker E: Here you Drink this. And now you have 100 hours of insignia. It's like. It's like Duolingo, but in a bottle. And it actually works. [00:03:40] Speaker C: Bottled language. [00:03:41] Speaker E: Yeah. I think she would make a potion that gives you advantage on, like, nature check. Nature checks. And specifically, like. Like plant identification checks. Like, I feel like Greta was like, trying to. In her time in. In the Hilal, she was like, trying to brew up like, a concoction that, like, made her an expert in herbs. [00:07:54] Speaker C: She's like, if I eat enough of them, I'll know them. [00:07:57] Speaker D: No, exactly. Yeah. That's kind of how it works, though. [00:08:01] Speaker C: They go in my throat enough, they'll be in my head. [00:08:05] Speaker A: Okay. I think it'd be like a highly soluble thing that doesn't have a lot of flavor to it so that you could just quietly dose people over years. And I think it would be an incremental mind weakening potion. So it made you susceptible to domination, but slowly. So that over time, as you drank it more and more and more and more and more, eventually you would be, like, fully obedient to her, but it would take years to realize what was going on. [00:08:52] Speaker A: That's terrifying. [00:08:54] Speaker C: Yeah, she sucks any who. On that fun note, let's play some D and D for my note taking. [00:09:01] Speaker A: Did boss ever go? Guys, you are in magic lane and you all are suited up and ready. It's weird because, I mean you're often walking around in armor and a number of people in porters. Plenty so are. But it's not long before people start noticing you and start wanting to talk to you and recognize you. Is there any particular thing you do to try to leave them to try to have them leave you alone while you're on magic lane or do you just proceed with your business? It's not long before a crowd is starting to form excited that the now increasingly world renowned fungi are in town. No. Complete silence. Not everybody wants. Now guys, slow down. [00:11:17] Speaker A: There's gonna be some sounds as we make taquitos, so. Or he makes taquitos. [00:11:24] Speaker C: Oh, I thought that was in character. And I was like, what? [00:11:27] Speaker A: I was like, Greg, there to be some sounds. Craig just like farts. He like just like. [00:11:32] Speaker C: Okay. [00:11:32] Speaker A: Releases all of the gas. [00:11:35] Speaker C: Release the Kraken. It's fine if there's not a response to this. You guys could just say nothing. But I, I, I honestly actually can't move the session forward if you guys don't say things back to what I say. This. It's the only for this way for this to work. [00:11:55] Speaker E: She's gonna, as they're walking, she's like just like whistling, like acting like nonchalant. But as she's doing it, she's trying to distract people by casting prestidigitation in a different like maybe like a torch kind of. Or they see some sparkles somewhere else. Like as far away as she can from herself, which is like 10ft. But just trying to distract people so. [00:12:19] Speaker C: They can sneak by the parlor tricks. Do not distract growing crowd from world famous heroes and attract people towards you. As magic is being displayed. [00:12:26] Speaker E: Fire. [00:12:28] Speaker A: Craig is going to do pres. She's gonna. He's gonna do anti presidigitation. Yeah. [00:12:34] Speaker E: Make a stinky. [00:12:37] Speaker A: He's gonna make a. Because it's not actually from him. It is like magically created. He's going to release a fart that is. It is so vile. The crowd has to leave or like at least stunned and like stopped. [00:12:57] Speaker C: Micah, make a. Make a spell casting check. So make a roll and add your charisma modifier on it. Oh my goodness. [00:13:08] Speaker A: All right, so we're actually. We're at a solid 7 right now. [00:13:17] Speaker C: Do it. Advantage. [00:13:18] Speaker A: Okay. I want you to really used to making stinkies. [00:13:22] Speaker E: All right. [00:13:23] Speaker A: So now we're at a solid eight. [00:13:27] Speaker C: Okay. You don't make a super magically powerful stinky fart, but you are. First of all, you press digitate by farting. [00:13:35] Speaker D: It's just really loud and it rumbles. [00:13:38] Speaker C: With the armor in ample flies. And then you magically make the fart worse. So like the crowd is gathered around you and like the fun guys are here is the fun guys look at them. And then all of a sudden it's like crowding around you. Craig just goes and like rumbles to the armor. People, like, and there's like this awkward moment where nobody. [00:14:00] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:14:00] Speaker C: People are trying to. Famous hero Craig. Do you keep doing it? [00:14:09] Speaker A: Yeah, and he keeps doing. [00:14:12] Speaker C: Takes two or three minutes. But Craig farts and farts and farts while making eye contact with people. And slowly but surely even some insults thrown your way. The whole crowd disperses because it's just so awful. And they're also so disquieted by like, this is their meet the hero moment. And it's like so discomforting that this is how it's playing out and people are just disillusioned and slowly but surely the crowd is leaving you alone. People are still watching from a distance, but you successfully disperse them. You're gonna get additional XP for that at the end. Micah. And so the group is moving down magic lane and people are casting spells on themselves. What all is being prepped? [00:14:54] Speaker D: I cast protection from good and evil on Craigalicious. [00:14:59] Speaker C: Phenomenal. Is that concentration. [00:15:02] Speaker D: Let me check my note. [00:15:05] Speaker A: I wish I could have you guys out of my earbuds so that Luke could hear all this amazingness, but I can't do it. [00:15:12] Speaker B: Boz is pretty flat faced as he's like walking towards the shop. Yeah, it's something that needs to be done. You know, there's not like a joy or a relish in like doing it. I think the. I think the possibility of what could be weighs on him quite heavily. But he's just kind of like slowly touching parts of like his shoulders and like muttering things in like a druidic wild tongue. And you know, you know, as he's walking, like he casts like formidable foliage and like the twigs and like the branch. Anything like wildlife just like leaps onto him and covers him in like in a thick, like natural armor. He casts ob drate on himself and Craig as like the wilds of the mad prince kind of like, keep intentional disruptions of volition at bay. He casts freedom of movement on himself. Is like the wind catches each step that he takes. The scimitar that he just bought, and the silver starts to glow like a bright red that's kind of like, rumbles like a molten forge. If it's fresh off the forge, the silver glows red, and he just kind of walks in the state toward me. Score shop. [00:16:34] Speaker C: Everybody else there for Landon. Just doing poetry real fast. [00:16:38] Speaker E: No, that was incredible, Landon. [00:16:42] Speaker C: You know what inspiration is? Oh, thank you. Freaking take it, you nerd. That was amazing. And as she does that, her skin just starts to kind of, like, tighten and ripple. And her screen. Her skin is already, like, green, but, like. And it has, like, that, you know, like, kind of tent and, like, look to it of, like, a plant, but it gets, like, coarser and harder. Oh, Jackie's sick and, like, more tree like than normal. And. And she casts bark skin on herself, which is concentration, and it lasts for an hour. And her AC is 16 now instead of 13. [00:19:18] Speaker C: That's amazing. Greta, what level did you cast? Protection from evil and good. [00:19:25] Speaker A: First level. [00:19:25] Speaker D: I didn't know I could upcast. [00:19:27] Speaker C: Amazing. Well, you can't, so I don't know why I asked that. [00:22:30] Speaker C: Awesome. To move us back into narrative, phenomenal prep. [00:22:38] Speaker E: I was just going to remind everyone that they all have a greater healing potion on them. And that row has two revivify diamonds on her. On, like, on her. [00:22:48] Speaker D: You have a revivify diamond, boss. [00:22:50] Speaker E: So, like, those are things where it would have been reminded. [00:22:54] Speaker D: Landon, do you have a revivify diamond? Okay, well, I give you one because I have one. I have two, so I give you one. [00:23:02] Speaker A: Okay. [00:23:07] Speaker C: So the party. You know, Craig's farts are doing a job dispersing people for a while, but you can't help but gather people in the streets. I mean, you're. You're, you know, quickly becoming the Justice League, being attracted. And as you all are moving down the street, the spellcraft you all are engaging in is attracting even more people. And people starting to bustle. But then it starts clarifying a little bit. You all don't have to say anything. Tello's loading a crossbow bolt. Also, for the record, I hand Tello. [00:23:37] Speaker B: A bundle of silvered crossbow arrows. As we're all kind of, like, doing things. [00:23:42] Speaker C: You hand him the arrows. He looks at one. It's not subtle how dour Tello has become in the last year, how serious, especially in the last month, how all of you, how much of the joy has left you all recently, how much of it has been replaced by suffering and pain. And he has become so much more anxious. But as you hand him the bolt and the light glints off of the silver, there's this levity returning to him, especially as the Count's death is starting to set in. And you, like, he looks at the arrow and it's very subtle, boss, but he just looks up at you and smirks and then loads it into the crossbow. And. [00:24:21] Speaker B: And as I, As I hold, as I hang out to him, I say, if. If she bleeds, she dies. And I know that she bleeds. [00:24:29] Speaker C: And he looks back at you, and he just says, you know, I don't like to think of myself as a capable person. I like to stay pretty grounded. And he cocks back the crossbow and he goes, but I'm going to put the hag on the list of the things I've killed. And you guys keep walking down the street. And as you guys, like, loading up and casting spells, people are getting excited. But especially, especially Boz, as, like, the formidable foliage starts creeping up your body and as Craig, like, starts moving star splinter around, like, people are getting excited. But you also watch as, like, realization starts washing over people's faces and the kind of people you are around. As you get closer to Magic Lane, some people are just passing through, right? There's. There's through traffic but some people are the. Are the people who are magically inclined. And a lot of people are starting to give you guys space and starting to be bombarded by questions from the plug. Where are you guys going? Are you going to fight something? You know, yada. But like more people, it's. It's really only the idiots who are starting to hang around you now. And everybody else is giving you 30, 40, 50ft of room. And a lot of people are starting to break off. And some people are trying to get whispers. [00:25:31] Speaker B: I reach into my pockets and I grab a handful of gold and I throw it behind us into the street. [00:25:39] Speaker C: Okay, none of the people who are following you, but a handful of like impoverished and homeless people rush to the gold. [00:25:48] Speaker B: None of the people do. [00:25:50] Speaker C: Not one or two. But there's some fanatics about, okay, whoever. [00:25:55] Speaker E: Whoever's like, closest to Ro or whatever, like pe, not party members, but like people. She just like. She doesn't want to cause panic, but she leans over to anyone that's getting like, close or into her space and say, get as far away from here as you can and tell everyone you know too, as well. [00:26:14] Speaker C: Give me either a persuasion or an intimidation check. [00:26:17] Speaker B: At Advantage Row, as they're walking, the shadows in Dogoth's cloak pop out like, boss all of a sudden gets three extra shots. [00:26:26] Speaker D: Scary. [00:26:31] Speaker E: So you said intimidation or persuasion? They're both the same. [00:26:37] Speaker C: And I'm going to say go ahead and add a D. Add a D4 onto this roll from the cloak thing. Boz just said. [00:26:44] Speaker D: Awesome. That's crazy. [00:26:46] Speaker E: That's going to be a 26. [00:26:48] Speaker C: Jeez. Yeah. [00:26:49] Speaker E: And that's critical. [00:26:50] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:26:51] Speaker C: People are clinging to you like parasites and they just can't get enough. And some of these people, they might be willing to risk their lives to see what's coming. And then you all, defenders people trust, start making the real breadth of your power clear. And the fact that those stories they've heard, they're about to become real. And people are finally backing off you all. And you all watch as Magic Lane kind of clears out over at the bazaar. Big John reaches up and pulls the wooden barriers down around his shop. And people start closing things. You all watch as Ergberg stumbles out of the front of his shop, like, peeks through the block blinds and just like, close the blinds and shutters the door. And you all hear all from around town. And everybody's like shuttering things and closing things. And Magic Lane clears out and standing there looming compressed between the buildings ahead is the small, strangely obtusely fitting Madame Miscourt's shop, looming in a way it never has before. You all stand there before it, more powerful than you've ever been. But you can't help but feel that sense of unease as it looms. [00:28:29] Speaker D: Of. [00:28:29] Speaker C: Note as you walk up to it. The wooden barrel by the door is still there, but the monkey's not on it. See the shop up ahead? They're everywhere, just as you've remembered them. Forgotten lore whispers silently from every nook and cranny. And the still soundlessness speaks long tragedies. Dust cakes over the broken spines of listlessly piled tomes while wax rapidly cools and splattered crap patterns across the dark wood of the gray floor. Those two floating chandeliers just rotating 15ft above the ground, providing dim light all around the shop is shrouded in nauseating detail, a saccharine cornucopia of grim specificity for the starving eye, satiating no hunger as sight devours evermore, only insinuating another tantalizing, another tantalization under every object which would prove all the worst for having been unraveled into another hanging thread. Desultory objects catch the wandering gaze at every glance. A shapely vial of clear liquid laced with a thin silvery corona of distilled salt along its circular base with a peeling label of ancient paper speaks messily of gathered tears and a disorder sylvan script, a severed noose loosely hangs from a high shelf stained darkly with the ancient liquid iron of an unfortunate soul. The reflected glint of sun bleached bone pokes out from beneath a russet leather bag, itself bound in a crackling cord that loosely ties together to hide its uncertain contents. All The While those two massive metal chandeliers, each no less than 5ft in diameter, rotate slowly. The only visibility for the dusk lit store, other than the light flooding in behind you from the cold day, comes from the hundreds of tiny candles flickering weekly with dim light overhead. The only warmth in the shop from their distant burning like stars in a night sky, would surely consume every warmth most settling of all in the dim light of the shop. The shelves rise in a disappearing veil of pitch shade, as though the shop possessed no ceiling and instead gave way to an insatiable abyss above. One must assume that there is a roof somewhere just above, but the merciless interior leaves you wandering to the back of the shop is likewise devoured in darkness, begging the question if it ends at all, or if it just goes on and on just like you've always seen it. So there's the shadowy darkness on the map all the way at the back of the shop. Doesn't matter. I'm really proud of the way that came out. I had to put ink down and then blotch a paper towel to make the shadow fade. I think it came out. [00:36:43] Speaker B: It's really good. I like it. It looks great. Good battle map. And then the floor beneath him just grows soft. [02:37:33] Speaker D: Whoa, scary. [02:37:34] Speaker C: And where his feet start to sink, it's like the tendrils of this floor melt up and then turn into a thousand tiny cilia pulling up him. And as they divide apart, A massive purple tentacle. Not like an octopus. Stranger. Different. Reaches up and just. And wrenches him into the floor. And there's one before the floor. Just around him. Boz, you are now concentrating on banishment. And he is. [02:38:04] Speaker B: No, no, no, no. [02:38:06] Speaker D: Oh. [02:38:06] Speaker A: Oh, no.
