[00:00:00] Speaker A: Little kid on the playground. [00:00:01] Speaker B: Welcome back to barely D and D. You're sort of Dungeons and Dragons like Tom Cruz. [00:00:08] Speaker C: How does he run? Does he run different? [00:00:10] Speaker B: Okay, all right. It's your done. It's your sort of done. I'm. I hit record. [00:00:13] Speaker C: Who's Tom Cruise? [00:00:14] Speaker B: No. You know. [00:00:16] Speaker C: No, I don't. [00:00:17] Speaker B: Okay. Welcome back. It's just sort of D and Dragons podcast. We are back with another episode of the Accidental Adventures. We are all in person for possibly one last time. [00:00:32] Speaker D: Don't say that. [00:00:33] Speaker A: Well, no, we're not the last time. We're not gonna die tonight, are we? [00:00:37] Speaker B: This combination of people. Okay, for possibly. I mean, I bet you guys are. [00:00:42] Speaker C: Totally possibly. [00:00:44] Speaker A: In case we die. [00:00:45] Speaker D: So. Fun fact. Jackie hid onions in the walls and [00:00:48] Speaker A: in the air vents. [00:00:51] Speaker B: I didn't get the joke at all. [00:00:52] Speaker A: I was like, does my house smell? [00:00:56] Speaker C: It's really stinky in here. [00:00:57] Speaker A: Guys. [00:00:58] Speaker B: You're st. We were talking about emotions and how much we love each other, so we were crying, but we're fine now, and my players are totally not gonna spend the first 15 minutes compensating with humor. [00:01:11] Speaker C: I just want to say that I'm so excited for when we you can see our little faces, because what you didn't see was Jackie doing the Tom Cruise run for, like, 30 seconds. [00:01:21] Speaker B: Listener. There's been so many bits over the years that you haven't seen. [00:01:24] Speaker A: We've described them to you, but you probably were like, stop describing and get back to playing D&D 4. [00:01:29] Speaker B: How about the Dungeons and Dragons now? [00:01:30] Speaker C: So I'm so excited for when you can all see our faces. I think that's gonna be a lot of fun for me. [00:01:35] Speaker B: I think the thing I'll be most excited. Well, we'll be playing a distance. [00:01:37] Speaker C: It'll hold me accountable because I will be able to get up and some [00:01:41] Speaker B: of the time when we're playing in fort see me. [00:01:42] Speaker C: Every time I get up, I'm excited [00:01:43] Speaker B: through the moments when I fart. And then everyone goes, no. And I just want people to be able to visually. [00:01:48] Speaker A: We're gonna put Zach in his own room in a ballpark. [00:01:50] Speaker B: It's like a drummer shield. [00:01:52] Speaker A: Yeah, I have one. Let's put a drummer shield on Zach. [00:01:58] Speaker C: We're like, yeah, there's a DM screen. [00:02:00] Speaker A: Here's your DM screen. It's a drummer Abby. [00:02:04] Speaker B: That's a great job. [00:02:07] Speaker A: You can have, like, a dry erase pen and, like, mark on the clear plastic of it. [00:02:13] Speaker B: That'd be fun. [00:02:15] Speaker C: Luckily, none of us can read backwards, so you can Write secrets there, too. [00:02:18] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. [00:02:19] Speaker B: Letter question. [00:02:20] Speaker A: Oh, do you have one? [00:02:23] Speaker B: I have decided on one. [00:02:24] Speaker A: Sneaky minx. [00:02:25] Speaker B: Sneaky little minx. [00:02:29] Speaker D: Were [00:02:32] Speaker B: you. Oh, okay. The letter question. If your character were to give their last words to the party. [00:02:41] Speaker A: Oh, my God. [00:02:42] Speaker B: Or like. Like a last message. Not like the exact words, but, like, what would their. What would their message be? And who do you want the DMNPC to be? [00:02:52] Speaker A: Well, it has to be Tello. [00:02:53] Speaker C: I feel like I agree. [00:02:55] Speaker D: It needs to be Tello. [00:02:58] Speaker B: What is wrong with you? You're playing with the corn. [00:03:02] Speaker A: He always did that before. I would watch his foot play with the cord all the time at Landon. [00:03:07] Speaker B: Stop looking at my. Stop looking at my little piggies. Leave them alone. [00:03:10] Speaker A: We're gonna have a foot care next campaign. [00:03:15] Speaker B: You stop kicking my piggies right now. [00:03:17] Speaker A: That's for the top paying tier of patriots. [00:03:21] Speaker B: No, we're not. No, we're not. I can make these. That's so much worse. [00:03:27] Speaker D: He's like the D. Like, I just [00:03:30] Speaker B: got one more hp. All the numbers are made up. I can change all of them. You're a monster. That's the edgiest thing you've ever said anyway. [00:03:40] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:03:41] Speaker B: All right, let's start with no. Something unbiased and fair. [00:03:47] Speaker C: Oh, you're a liar. [00:03:48] Speaker B: Let's start with the person who most recently had an item of clothing urinated on. That feels so. That could be anybody. [00:03:56] Speaker A: Could be anybody. [00:03:57] Speaker B: That could be literally anybody. What's in this? [00:04:01] Speaker D: Do I. Do I just start talking now? [00:04:03] Speaker B: Is that coffee? [00:04:04] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:04:04] Speaker B: Or is it tea? [00:04:05] Speaker C: It's coffee. [00:04:06] Speaker B: Okay. [00:04:06] Speaker C: Why? [00:04:06] Speaker B: Nothing. [00:04:08] Speaker D: Steal it. [00:04:08] Speaker A: Wait, you. [00:04:09] Speaker D: Why did you ask about my pants? [00:04:12] Speaker A: Really? [00:04:13] Speaker B: No, wait. [00:04:14] Speaker A: Okay, Wait. [00:04:15] Speaker B: What did you say? No, no, hold on. You missed it. [00:04:17] Speaker D: You missed it. [00:04:18] Speaker B: Hold on. [00:04:19] Speaker D: You missed it. [00:04:19] Speaker B: What did you say? [00:04:20] Speaker D: Micah, I just beat my pants. [00:04:22] Speaker B: So what you're saying is. [00:04:23] Speaker A: No. [00:04:24] Speaker B: You do a little pussy. Do a little pissy. [00:04:28] Speaker D: I don't. [00:04:28] Speaker B: Use your hands. Do a little pissy. Right in my pants. I do a little piss. One time, Luke and I were, like, [00:04:34] Speaker D: getting ready for bed, and I just started singing that song, and he was [00:04:37] Speaker A: like, what is that? And I was like, I do it in a pissy. He was like, what did I marry? [00:04:44] Speaker D: It was really satisfying. [00:04:45] Speaker B: I'm like, yeah, that warms my heart. That warms my heart. That one's for you, Middle School Zach. [00:04:50] Speaker A: Anywho, he would be proud. [00:04:52] Speaker B: He would be. [00:04:52] Speaker D: Your hair's really cute like that. [00:04:54] Speaker A: What did they do to it? [00:04:55] Speaker B: No, seriously. Your dog pissed on your shirt. What's your [00:04:59] Speaker A: super quick context. Never done this before ever. But I was gonna wear my pissabish shirt that Zach got me for Christmas tonight because we were all together, if you didn't know, it got laid on my bed. Long story short, Diggle accidentally got locked in my room and he got upset, I guess about it. And I walk in there and there's like. [00:05:18] Speaker B: You say he got pissed? [00:05:18] Speaker A: Yeah, I say he got pissed. And I look at my shirt and it's wet. I'm like, why is my shirt wet? And long story short, Diggle pissed into the piss abyss of my shirt. I don't know if he can read. He's literally never peed on my bed before in his 11 years. [00:05:33] Speaker B: Like a laughing of the mic, dude. [00:05:35] Speaker A: I think he just followed instructions. [00:05:39] Speaker C: The one thing guys. They strapped the mic to me this time. And I don't. The one thing I don't like is that I can't. [00:05:47] Speaker A: You strapped the mic to your eyes? That sounds so violent. [00:05:50] Speaker C: I can't, like, I can't escape it. [00:05:52] Speaker A: No, you can't. [00:05:54] Speaker C: I have to. [00:05:55] Speaker B: There's a little blood. [00:05:56] Speaker C: I have to like all my. You're gonna. They. They're gonna hear it when I drink coffee and eat food. Like if I. I can't eat something crunchy, you said. [00:06:06] Speaker B: That's so unabashed. They're so like abashedly like. [00:06:09] Speaker C: Can I have one? [00:06:10] Speaker B: Yeah, go ahead. Well, let's test this. [00:06:11] Speaker C: Cut this out. If it's gross, right? Cut it out of him. [00:06:15] Speaker B: No. Do it. Oh, wait. You took a bite. You didn't hear it. We didn't hear it. You took a bite. [00:06:21] Speaker A: You could just unpin it and like put it down. [00:06:23] Speaker B: No, that's not coming up at all. No, please don't. I have to edit the audio. But no, we didn't hear it at all. It didn't come up at all. You're good. [00:06:30] Speaker D: So what would your character say? Yeah, for their last words. [00:06:33] Speaker B: I mean, what's the general message? [00:06:37] Speaker D: What's the message that they would like to give on their death bed? I mean, no, not that. [00:06:41] Speaker C: I mean, if they were dying, if they were killed. I mean, if so. [00:06:44] Speaker A: Okay, I have it. [00:06:45] Speaker B: Is this the bit now I have it. [00:06:47] Speaker A: No, I have it. Guys, let me do it before I forget it. Rose would be. And I'm going to say it in Rose voice. The story that we have written together is better than any song I could have ever written. [00:07:11] Speaker D: That was good. I love. [00:07:13] Speaker A: You say that to the funko. [00:07:14] Speaker C: I love. [00:07:15] Speaker A: And I say that to you guys. [00:07:23] Speaker B: Micah. [00:07:24] Speaker D: Okay. [00:07:25] Speaker A: Okay. [00:07:26] Speaker B: Okay, I'll go now. [00:07:28] Speaker D: I don't know. I. I feel like it would be really simple because Craig's. What'd you say? No, you have to share. [00:07:36] Speaker A: It made me think of Ros And Munsters, Inc. And I said, Mike was out. [00:07:41] Speaker B: It was a good impression. [00:07:42] Speaker D: That was really good, actually. That was my nickname for a while. [00:07:47] Speaker B: So go ahead now. No, it's not bad because we have a timer on how long you're conscious, so. [00:07:52] Speaker D: So I'll just slap her awake. [00:07:56] Speaker B: I cast. Goodness. It's got. It's got a somatic component. [00:08:01] Speaker D: Do you remember when I fell asleep session and then I woke up to the point that, like, that Craig woke up? [00:08:07] Speaker B: Yeah, we were like, craig fell asleep, [00:08:09] Speaker A: and then Craig wakes up, and you're like, yeah, yeah. [00:08:12] Speaker B: No, but Micah. There was a session where I was like, craig wakes up, and then Micah woke up. We're like, whoa, I am the dm. But anyway, you were saying. [00:08:22] Speaker D: So I think that I don't know [00:08:25] Speaker B: how to formulate coffee for a second. Anyway. [00:08:29] Speaker D: I don't know how to formulate the words, but the general. General message would be, curiosity marks your. Your life. So decide how you use it. It's kind of like the. The general idea of, like, be curious, but be, like, intentional with what you're curious about. [00:08:50] Speaker C: That's really. That's good. [00:08:52] Speaker B: This campaign is just Craig's journey to become Ted Lasso. [00:08:55] Speaker D: Who's Ted Lasso? [00:08:56] Speaker B: Oh, my God. [00:08:56] Speaker C: I don't get it. [00:09:00] Speaker B: That homeschool conversation just became so potent. [00:09:02] Speaker C: He plays football. [00:09:04] Speaker B: Yes, Greta. [00:09:05] Speaker D: He's got a soccer ball. What does that mean? [00:09:07] Speaker C: Wait, wait. So he plays soccer? [00:09:09] Speaker B: Soccer or football? [00:09:10] Speaker C: They're the same thing. No, they're not. He plays football, Greta. [00:09:15] Speaker D: Okay, Greta, [00:09:18] Speaker B: you have to go now. [00:09:20] Speaker C: Greta, I think would say. What? [00:09:25] Speaker B: Stop moving the microwave when you laugh. They want to hear you laugh. [00:09:28] Speaker C: They laughed. [00:09:30] Speaker B: Did you fart? [00:09:31] Speaker D: No, I barked really loud. [00:09:34] Speaker B: Put that on the mic, too. Get right in that thing. Anyway, go ahead, Greta. [00:09:45] Speaker C: I think Gretas would be something like, don't. Like, don't use your. Don't lose your light. [00:09:53] Speaker A: Or. [00:09:53] Speaker C: And that sounds so cheesy, but, like, [00:09:55] Speaker B: no, it's very gentle. [00:09:59] Speaker C: Or maybe, like, it's okay if you don't lose your light. It's okay if you fall. Just, like, be ready to be found again, I guess. I think is what she says. [00:10:15] Speaker D: I like it. [00:10:16] Speaker B: No, that was beautiful. [00:10:17] Speaker D: I like it. [00:10:20] Speaker C: Or maybe. Maybe, like, guard your light, but if you lose it, that's okay. [00:10:25] Speaker B: Just, [00:10:27] Speaker C: like, be ready to be open to Be open to getting better, I guess. Basically, yeah. It's okay if you feel bad, but [00:10:36] Speaker B: keep your wick well trimmed. [00:10:38] Speaker C: Yeah, [00:10:42] Speaker B: that was genuine. Why are you all making faces and laughing at me? [00:10:45] Speaker D: It was good. [00:10:46] Speaker B: I was quoting something. [00:10:49] Speaker C: I think. I think it's in the Bible. [00:10:54] Speaker B: No, it's in that really good Mouth of the south song. You stinky, stinky farts. The wick in a candle that you light with flyers. Anyway, back off. [00:11:05] Speaker A: These two get married and it's just. [00:11:07] Speaker B: Yeah, they get so. They're like, I'm married now. Now I can laugh at everything and call you stupid and short. [00:11:15] Speaker C: No, I'm tall and smart. The priest made me tall and smart. Why? [00:11:25] Speaker B: The priest made me tall. I went to church the other day. The priest made me church. [00:11:31] Speaker C: I pronounce you tall and smart. [00:11:35] Speaker B: Tall and smart and writing that down. Oh, my goodness. The priest made me tall. Abby, you like Fleabag? The priest made me tall. [00:11:43] Speaker A: Fleabag. It's my favorite show. [00:11:45] Speaker B: Not anymore. [00:11:46] Speaker C: Yes, it is. [00:11:46] Speaker A: Hot priest, hot priest, hot priest. [00:11:49] Speaker D: That's true. [00:11:50] Speaker C: If they put a hot priest on the pit, I would change my mind. [00:11:56] Speaker A: All that show's missing is a hot priest. [00:11:58] Speaker B: Okay, all right. [00:11:59] Speaker C: That's true. [00:12:00] Speaker B: Always my issue with Phineas and Ferb. So hot priest and Phineas. [00:12:04] Speaker A: No, I think. You think they need one. I don't think they need Disney Channel. [00:12:11] Speaker B: Tello's message would be something along the lines of, I forgot what truth looked like until I met you all. [00:12:20] Speaker C: Aw. Yeah, I like that his is. I like that his and Rose are not advice. They're just statements, you know? Like, I think it's very. I think it makes sense that Craig and Greta would give, like, a. Like an instruction, but I think it's. It also makes sense for Tello and Ro that they just. It's just a statement, you know? [00:12:45] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:12:46] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:12:47] Speaker B: All right. Yeah. [00:12:51] Speaker C: Can I make a note to the listeners that Jackie has, like, across from me, like, a really. It's really. Well, I'll say it's really well done. [00:12:59] Speaker A: No, it's really bad. [00:13:00] Speaker C: I like it. I think. I think it's well done, but it is straight up. [00:13:03] Speaker B: Okay. [00:13:03] Speaker C: It's just a picture of. [00:13:06] Speaker B: There's a better one right over there. And it's. [00:13:08] Speaker A: Okay. [00:13:09] Speaker C: It's a painting of a dragon shaped. Outlined in red fire. [00:13:14] Speaker A: The title of the painting is called the Hateful, and it's just looking at me. I tried to paint what Zach's words did to my brain, and the brain could not match with the pencil or the paintbrush. [00:13:29] Speaker C: It's a little intimidating. [00:13:32] Speaker D: Okay, that's four quadrants. [00:13:33] Speaker B: It's not a dark omen at all. [00:13:35] Speaker D: I'm back at math. [00:13:37] Speaker B: For the note taking nerds. [00:13:39] Speaker A: I did put a, um, raccoon over there for the listeners too. Yes, you did. [00:13:42] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:13:42] Speaker B: Now that genuinely feels really good. For the note taking nerds. Yes, I said for the note takingers. And Abby looked up at me abashedly. And I looked down at her notes and I did the teacher face. And Abby, I want to. I want to apologize to you in person for that. I'm so sorry. [00:14:02] Speaker C: Is it the 17th or the 18th? [00:14:04] Speaker A: I felt like I was back in school. [00:14:06] Speaker D: Now we're back in school again. Come on. [00:14:08] Speaker B: For the note taking nerds. [00:14:13] Speaker A: We got 175 episodes. Never doing that before. [00:14:16] Speaker D: We heard that. But your students didn't hear that. [00:14:19] Speaker B: I would never know. Their egos are more fragile than yalls. [00:14:22] Speaker C: You don't make farts about. Wait, you don't make fart jokes about. [00:14:27] Speaker B: I joke around with them. But I'm very careful for the note taking turns. I'm very careful never to insult them or like, because some of them can take it and some of them can't. [00:14:35] Speaker A: When the bell rings and class starts, do you ever like, accidentally go, welcome back to class? [00:14:41] Speaker B: No. No, no. Because those two things are really different. But anywho, as we try very hard to procrastinate the start of this session. Sorry, Going back to biology, [00:15:00] Speaker C: I'd love [00:15:00] Speaker D: to, like, walk by your class and airdrop the podcast to your students. Did you see what happens? [00:15:05] Speaker B: I work pretty hard to keep them from knowing that this exists because it's important. It's important they don't hear this. [00:15:11] Speaker D: Why? Why? [00:15:13] Speaker B: This is episode 174. [00:15:15] Speaker A: 75. [00:15:17] Speaker C: Oh, [00:15:20] Speaker A: I'm so sorry. She can't spell her. [00:15:24] Speaker B: So much writing and scheduling. [00:15:27] Speaker A: Wait, is it not. [00:15:28] Speaker B: It is 170. [00:15:32] Speaker D: Is that why you thought we had one more in person session altogether? No, I'm still right about that. [00:15:38] Speaker C: Happy 175th birthday, guys. Oh, wow, that's really exciting. [00:15:42] Speaker A: That's like half of Greta's age. [00:15:44] Speaker B: I will never. [00:15:45] Speaker D: I will never live to that. [00:15:47] Speaker A: You might if you listen to this marathon. It's so funny how old Greta is, but he's hitting on her. [00:15:54] Speaker B: Yeah, because at that time, all of us thought she was young. [00:15:57] Speaker A: I'm just messing with you. [00:15:58] Speaker B: It was like a session later that Abby was like, oh, I'm geriatric. She was like. She opened her paper and she was like, [00:16:07] Speaker A: he didn't see discriminate he doesn't. [00:16:09] Speaker D: You know, [00:16:12] Speaker C: hashtag all women. [00:16:13] Speaker A: She knows her stuff. [00:16:14] Speaker B: Abby turned her page, and she was like, oh, my H. Is life a lot. That's crazy. [00:16:19] Speaker D: I can't get up. [00:16:20] Speaker A: He's like a little dream. That's what said a little gray never scared anyone away. [00:16:25] Speaker C: What? [00:16:26] Speaker B: So no, I'm like, holding a crossbow up at you. Okay. Fist bump. Also not the crossbow. So this is episode 175, blood and egg. No. Because if you guys think I'm done, I'm not. [00:16:39] Speaker C: Do it again. [00:16:40] Speaker D: Do it again. [00:16:40] Speaker B: You want me to say it again? [00:16:41] Speaker D: No. Do it again. Yeah. [00:16:45] Speaker C: You guys are just like, the drama. [00:16:46] Speaker A: Thank you. [00:16:47] Speaker C: Okay, never mind. [00:16:48] Speaker B: I want to see. [00:16:49] Speaker D: We have to start. [00:16:51] Speaker B: I need to start the session. That's cool with everybody. This is episode. I can tell. This is episode 175, Blood and Ash. It is level 16 adventure. [00:16:58] Speaker A: 16.391. [00:17:01] Speaker B: The date is 3488. PB, CB call. The 14th. [00:17:05] Speaker A: Oh, it's the next day. Jackie. [00:17:08] Speaker C: What? [00:17:09] Speaker B: What day of the week does that make it? [00:17:10] Speaker D: Hello? [00:17:12] Speaker B: Oh, no. [00:17:12] Speaker D: This is a problem. What? [00:17:14] Speaker B: What is it, bud? [00:17:15] Speaker D: I don't have enough storage to edit my. My Google Doc. [00:17:19] Speaker A: Do you need. [00:17:19] Speaker C: But it's online. That's crazy. [00:17:25] Speaker B: What's the day after Amec? [00:17:26] Speaker A: I'm so sorry. [00:17:33] Speaker B: Okay. Sick. [00:17:34] Speaker A: I just want it to be known that it's. [00:17:37] Speaker B: It's now known. [00:17:39] Speaker A: Two and a half weeks. Toro's birthday. Hopefully she doesn't die before then. [00:17:44] Speaker B: All right. [00:17:45] Speaker A: We're gonna celebrate it early. [00:17:46] Speaker B: So fun, guys. [00:17:52] Speaker C: I like that. That's not too bad. [00:17:54] Speaker D: Are we in the cave? [00:17:55] Speaker B: I mean. [00:17:56] Speaker A: No. [00:17:56] Speaker B: Oh, that's. The bird sounds are in there no matter what. Okay, but let me find my music volume here. No, because it needs to be. There we go. Let's see. I'm trying to think about the previous day. [00:18:11] Speaker A: Everyone but me had death ward. But now you guys don't have death ward because it's the next day. [00:18:17] Speaker B: That is an important update. I feel so good to be doing this in person. [00:18:24] Speaker A: He wants to kill us. When you look at someone's eyes while [00:18:26] Speaker B: doing it, Craig, I would say you are not first awake, but of your party. You are first too weak. [00:18:37] Speaker D: Okay. [00:18:38] Speaker B: And you come from. From drowsiness. Yesterday. Yesterday was the day. Okay, strap in. Yesterday was the day that. That you were awoken from sleep by the voice that spoke to you of the flames. Yesterday was the day that you watched bones knit together by flesh. Yesterday was the day that you saw the silhouette in the fire. Yesterday was the Day that you returned to your encampment where so many were wounded or dead. Yesterday was the day that you learned that all of it had. What? I'm on Mike. I'm on mic. Okay, you're messing with me. Yesterday was the day that you learned that all of it, so to speak, had been for naught. That you defeated the Lich queen and that she had been a distraction. That the veil blade had been aimed elsewhere and that the fifth one had pierced the veil. Yesterday was the day that the hate fell and the veil burned away. Yesterday was the day the sky set on fire. Yesterday was the day that you saw him from however far away. Yesterday was the day Greta died. Yesterday was the day that Boz died. Yesterday was the day Alondra died. And there are a few moments when that's not back to you yet. There are a few moments that are just waking because you are exhausted. And I please do recall you all have had a long rest. So if you had a point of exhaustion, it has been removed. If you had multiple points of exhaustion, please pay attention to how many remain. But our distance setup is lovely, and I am very thankful for it, and I do love the sessions, but it's so. I'm not being sarcastic. It's so nice to be in person where we can catch the sounds of people like moving paper. [00:21:12] Speaker C: I was. Thank you for saying that because I was just worried about making noise. [00:21:16] Speaker B: I love that sound. But anyway, I think all the little picadillos and imperfections actually make it much better, but that's just my opinion. So, Craig, you're not sure what time it is. It's dark where you are. It's cold. It's quite cold. You're underground in the winter, though underground might be an odd comfort to you. Where you are, you're bathed in a dull sort of orangish light because there is one torch lit here in this basement cave space, and you're underneath your home in Parsage. And what does first waking look like to Craig? None of your armor's on. You've doffed it to sleep. [00:22:04] Speaker D: I think. In the moment of the body trying to restabilize itself in the neurological system trying to gain its footing and find peace. I'm gonna say that as Craig's waking up and he's in that, like, half awake stage in the way that, like, light kind of dances on your fingertips when you move your hands in light. I'm gonna say the. The memory or the imagination or the, like, daydream of waking up next to Catherine. Is like, playing in his head and, like, the idea and the memory of, like, everything being normal, then being home. Like, the monotonous of getting up to get ready for work, saying goodbye to each other, giving each other a kiss before they leave. Like, that's just playing through his mind. And he's, like, almost afraid to open his eyes because he doesn't know what he'll open his eyes to. But in this moment where he is, he's not dead, and he wants to spend that moment thinking about her. [00:23:26] Speaker B: Yeah. It's an unpleasant. It's an unpleasant realization when eventually, however long that is, your first physical perturbation moves you to just intense pain. You shift, and your body argues with that movement. It was yesterday that the magic in your veins was set on fire. And in the way that muscles can be sore, and I mean, you've exercised in the ways that bruises can be sore. Every part of you that can feel hurts. [00:24:13] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:24:14] Speaker B: And remember the soul fire didn't touch your nerves. It touched what they respond to. Your mind aches, your heart aches. Your soul hurts in the ways that it also does from loss. And in that same way, you also feel the ache of your body, because it was two days ago that you were almost murdered repeatedly. It was two days ago that an undead dragon dropped gaseous death on you. It was two days ago that a beam of disintegration was aimed squarely at your chest, buffeted only by your magical armor from the. From the elder age, and dealt you 87 damage in a turn. That was two days ago. You have new scars on your body you haven't discovered yet. If you removed some of your cloth layers, you probably have bruises the size of arms on you in places. You have healing lacerations right now. And all those sensations are returning you in this dim light. As you blink, some things come back to you in that large square space. There are some of the wooden crates against one of the dim walls. It's musty and damp in here. There's a source of water far below, so some of that moisture holds in the air even in this cold winter time. Strangely, though, it is quite cool in here. It's actually less cold than it is in the house because there's a layer of ground insulating it. You have full rock layer between you and above. I'm gonna sneeze. [00:25:48] Speaker C: Not allowed. Bless you. [00:25:51] Speaker D: Bless you. [00:25:53] Speaker B: Uh oh, and. But there is. There is a strange aid in the fact that as moisture is coming from below, it's sort of combating some of the smoke that would Be gathering up against the ceiling which has nowhere for the air to flow as the torch is burning, but the moisture is helping to reduce that for the time being. The air is laden and still you can see your allies, the fungi's, all of whom are alive also in this space with Yuishpa Goober. Nam eventually returned. She eventually came back up from the deeper stone chambers and she's just like asleep by the corner of a crate. So she's like backed herself up into her corridor and her loaded crossbow is still in her hands though not cocked. But she is in the corner nearest Shpagoober. So she's back in the room with you all. She's not directly near him but where he's like slumped against a wall exhausted. She's in the corner nearest him. Ehmund Kai is there and he sleeps through heavy long ragged breaths. Alundra is there. She sleeps the eternal sleep. Her body which was pale in life, has become white as a ghost. There is a shock to seeing her because she looks more dead than she did yesterday. Her eyes are so. Well, her eyes are closed. The eye was shut but I mean [00:27:21] Speaker D: you can just tell. Yeah, it's a different. [00:27:23] Speaker B: It's. Everything is so limp. [00:27:25] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:27:26] Speaker B: So devoid of purpose in its position. I forgot to talk about him. So also there. I kind of didn't mention him too much in the transport last time. Balo Coelho is with you? [00:27:35] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:27:36] Speaker B: The dark skinned dwarven man. His armor has also been doffed in a somewhat neat pile next to him. He's sleeping deeply, still heavily wounded. Thespis is there as well. He's asleep against a barrel. And also with you, who I didn't get into too much detail describing like is that halfling woman, the roguish lady. She just slept in her armor. She didn't bother with that slightly necroded part of her face. These are all the people around you. Here you are. What do you do upon waking, Craig? [00:28:11] Speaker D: I think first I'm taking a mental inventory of people's breaths. First grade, then row, then tello, then you know, Boz and just like just continually looking around and that's not my ranking of favorites. [00:28:31] Speaker A: It's not. [00:28:33] Speaker D: Just in case I need to clarify [00:28:34] Speaker B: first I look at. And last. [00:28:38] Speaker C: Yeah, could you look at the longest? [00:28:43] Speaker B: What's the meme you kept? [00:28:45] Speaker D: Not a woman. [00:28:45] Speaker B: Wait, before we long rest, does anybody want to admit they have a crush on me? [00:28:50] Speaker C: I did not make that by the way. [00:28:52] Speaker A: I know you didn't. [00:28:53] Speaker C: I just found it on the Internet. [00:28:55] Speaker A: Okay, so follow Us on Instagram. [00:28:59] Speaker B: It's fine if there isn't anything else, [00:29:01] Speaker D: I'm going to, like, kind of in the way that, like, there are small, minute things that need to get done when you wake up. And, like, things to prepare. Like, I don't know. Like, obviously we need to eat. I don't know what the process is for that, but, like, just the factual things of. Hey, we just went through a lot. Like, I'm gonna get things ready. People need to bathe or, like, wipe their wounds or things like that. Like, he's just gonna start. [00:29:29] Speaker B: You are aware that if your allies are to be nourished, it would mean returning to the home. You're in that, like, basement area right [00:29:37] Speaker A: now, which you could return to. [00:29:39] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:29:40] Speaker B: But you are aware that yesterday was the day that the sky set on fire. You're not quite sure what's happened to the tower. [00:29:45] Speaker D: I really don't want to go up there by myself. Too scared. I'm scared again. [00:29:49] Speaker B: And you don't have to take any immediate action. Someone else can awake as well. [00:29:52] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:29:53] Speaker D: Is there a way I could just, like, peek? [00:29:58] Speaker C: No. [00:29:59] Speaker D: No. I mean, I want to. I want to make it a ritual that every morning I tell Katherine I love her. [00:30:07] Speaker B: I think you said previously in the campaign, and I'm not saying you can't do that, but to keep track of your role play. I think you said every evening you call her and tell her you love her. [00:30:17] Speaker D: However, I don't want this to be like a, hey, what's up? How you doing? Like, how's it going? Just, like, she just hears like, I love you, sweet Catherine. Okay, I love you. [00:30:28] Speaker B: But that also happens every morning. [00:30:29] Speaker D: Yeah, every night. She's really obsessed. [00:30:31] Speaker B: Okay. [00:30:32] Speaker D: He's like, this is my. This is my wifey. [00:30:35] Speaker B: I'll tell you what, Craig, we are. We're far enough into this. Would you make an insight check for me? And I'll say, you have advantage because it's your wife. Well, that's not what an insight checks for, but sure. [00:30:48] Speaker A: Isn't Shista also there? [00:30:50] Speaker B: Holy crap. Yes. Living Shista is also there. I forgot. What'd you say? [00:30:55] Speaker D: Can I use. Can I use character points? [00:30:59] Speaker B: Are you asking? If you're gonna add your modifier, [00:31:03] Speaker A: are [00:31:03] Speaker B: you asking, can you use inspiration? What are you asking? Because I've been playing this game for seven years, and I don't know what character points are you asking for inspiration? [00:31:15] Speaker D: No. [00:31:15] Speaker B: Do you have inspiration? Yes, girl, you have it. [00:31:20] Speaker D: I don't want to use it. [00:31:21] Speaker B: You don't want to use It. Then don't. [00:31:24] Speaker D: Just tell me. Yes, you have a. [00:31:26] Speaker A: You have a per diem if you want to use. Wait, I don't know if we have that. Everyone has per diem. [00:31:33] Speaker B: Do you want to. You play Only you can tell me. Do you want. No. Do you want to use per diem or advantage right now? Did you have inspiration from last time? [00:31:43] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:31:43] Speaker B: Okay. Mark it off and you can use Girl. [00:31:45] Speaker D: She doesn't. [00:31:46] Speaker A: She wants to use it but not mark it off is what she's asking. [00:31:49] Speaker B: If you're going to use it, you have to mark it off. [00:31:53] Speaker D: You said it was insight. [00:31:54] Speaker B: Yes. What's happening? [00:31:58] Speaker C: Can she get another inspiration for caring so much about her roleplay that she wants to use her inspiration on it? [00:32:05] Speaker B: Can I get inspiration for using inspiration? [00:32:07] Speaker D: Is it a saving throw? [00:32:10] Speaker A: This feels very. Doing this to remind us of where we came from and where we are now. [00:32:18] Speaker B: It's feeling better than you and me at the moment. [00:32:23] Speaker D: I. I got a six. [00:32:25] Speaker B: Okay. [00:32:26] Speaker A: All right. [00:32:27] Speaker D: Don't you feel bad for me? [00:32:30] Speaker B: No. Now, are you using anything or no? No. Okay. [00:32:36] Speaker D: Because you said no. [00:32:40] Speaker B: Are you trying to tell me that you didn't have inspiration? [00:32:43] Speaker A: She does, but she doesn't want to use it. No. [00:32:45] Speaker B: I don't see. Think that's what Micah said here. [00:32:47] Speaker A: No, she has it, but she does not want to use it. [00:32:50] Speaker D: I want you to give me DM Favor. [00:32:52] Speaker A: She wants a favor. [00:32:53] Speaker B: I'm so sorry that I saved DIA inspiration for six months and used it on you guys last time. We're out. [00:32:59] Speaker D: Great opportunity. [00:33:00] Speaker A: I think we used it at a really good time. Wasn't it to like, save six down? [00:33:04] Speaker B: We're going to move on now. I'm moving on. Moving on now. So we got correct. You send your message and you don't think twice about it. Moving on. [00:33:13] Speaker D: If I had roll tire, what would have happened? [00:33:20] Speaker B: Do you feel like this is a session without consequences? [00:33:24] Speaker D: I just think I'm used to getting my way. [00:33:28] Speaker B: Yeah. Oh, no. Okay, noted, buddy. I'm going to move on because I get the feeling we're not going to go anywhere here immediately. Yes. Abs, abs. You want. You want your volume down? You're pretty high. How's that? [00:33:47] Speaker C: Thank you. [00:33:49] Speaker A: Okay. [00:33:50] Speaker B: I feel I'll have to move on for the sake of the podcast. [00:33:53] Speaker D: I rage baited you on purpose. [00:33:55] Speaker B: Yeah, you did. Now, I worked hard on this gosh [00:34:05] Speaker A: darn sentence energy in the first 20 minutes. [00:34:08] Speaker D: Dude, this is why I need the chat again. There are so many things I want to say. [00:34:12] Speaker A: There's been like seven Memes that I've put in my head that I'm like, oh, there's nothing to type it into. [00:34:17] Speaker B: If you guys pull your phones out, you can use it on Discord right [00:34:21] Speaker A: now, because then I'll be on my phone and I want to look at your pretty faces. [00:34:25] Speaker B: That's a good point. We are in person, Ro. [00:34:29] Speaker A: Nah. [00:34:29] Speaker B: You awake. [00:34:30] Speaker A: Next. [00:34:31] Speaker B: Sore and tired. [00:34:32] Speaker D: I can't put it in that chat. [00:34:36] Speaker A: Okay, so I'm tired. [00:34:40] Speaker B: You awake? [00:34:40] Speaker A: Oh, I'm awake. [00:34:41] Speaker B: You awake? To all the same features and setting that Craig did. There's still music going, right? [00:34:49] Speaker A: Yeah. What time is it? [00:34:51] Speaker B: I almost looked in real life. Okay, so as you know, with. With keen mind. Ro, could you give me a survival check? Oh, that Dice Tower sounds good on Mike. It's a 20, baby. What? [00:35:12] Speaker A: You get survival. That's a 29. [00:35:15] Speaker B: Nice. [00:35:16] Speaker A: 29. Oh, never mind. That's not me no more. [00:35:19] Speaker B: 6 for Craig, 29 for Ro. That feels about right. So sorry, Mike. Micah gave Jackie the look. She just. My goodness, I can't believe we were laughing at the whole time. [00:35:40] Speaker D: All I hear is my chewing. [00:35:42] Speaker B: With a 29, Jackie. Yes, you can perceive what time it is, but it takes a bit. When you wake, you are not there. There are things you always know, things of which you are already, always aware and you are not immediately. Because when you wake, there is a feeling you always feel. We've talked about this before in the campaign. Like a sensation, you only realize when you detect its absence. There is a connected feeling you always feel that at first is. You have to kind of grasp for. And it's like in that way that you didn't realize it was the source point of your keen mind until you went to Agba and felt her connection. When you wake, her connection feels far. It feels disrupted. But after a moment, you really focus and center yourself and just barely you feel like you can feel her. Her orienting position. And you feel rather confident that. That it's got to be kind of close to noon. [00:36:42] Speaker A: Oh, wow. [00:36:42] Speaker B: You guys slept five or six hours past the time you usually wake up, Which is very understandable. Yeah, you can do that. Plenty of your compatriots would probably sleep through the day if they were allowed to. [00:36:58] Speaker D: Yeah, [00:37:04] Speaker A: I think I make eyes with Craig cuz Craig's awake. Right. And I make eyes with Craig and I. [00:37:09] Speaker B: And you detect inwardly that Micah just asked if she could go get water and coffee. [00:37:13] Speaker D: Oh, okay. [00:37:13] Speaker A: No, that's fine. I just. I just give. I just give Craig a look. I don't. I really Don't. No, I really don't. No, honestly, I really wasn't going to talk. I was just going to kind of look at him silently. I think I, I think I, I kind of do what, what Craig was doing. I, I look to every one of my fun guys first and. Is that what he said? [00:37:43] Speaker B: Continue with your role play, please, and, [00:37:44] Speaker A: and just kind of like watch each of their breathing for a few minutes or a few seconds each to make sure they're breathing. Then I, I think I would like if it ended where it ended last time. I guess I'm like nearest what? Shpagoober and Thespis. [00:38:01] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:38:01] Speaker A: So I think Thespis on one side, [00:38:02] Speaker B: Shpagoor on the other. [00:38:03] Speaker A: I think I would, I would literally like gently like check, like put my hands on Shpagoober and then on Thespis and be like, are they breathing? [00:38:13] Speaker B: You feel, you feel their rise and fall evenly. [00:38:22] Speaker A: I think I'm. I think she's very frightened for what's above. And I think she casts. I think she does just like a tiny, like the quietest she can, which is a can trip. So I feel like at this point she can just it really softly druid craft to kind of see what it really does as far as how our magic is working. I mean, she knows the magic working because we got here. But also to be like what? Like, like she knows the spell doesn't like do this, but to be like, like how, when she would like check the weather and stuff like that, she's like, what, what is it gonna say to her? Like, she knows it probably won't do anything, but like she does that and like when she shums like just a little purple orb like floats in her hand and then like flowers. And that's what happens when she does. [00:39:30] Speaker B: Drew, when you raise your palm from your green palm, these, these thin little sprouts form and grow and blossom briefly with leaves. And there, there is a phenomena with real plants called etiolation, which is where when plants have trouble access finding sunlight, especially plants that grow very rapidly, they will, instead of flooding themselves with expensive chlorophyll pigments, they'll focus on, on just mitotic division, just on like replicating as many cells as they can, growing as tall as they can just to get to where they can sense light. And then they'll start pumping that area full of, full of green. So they'll first just grow really long and thin and pale. And then once they find light, they'll start filling it with chlorophyll. And when you grow those sprouts in your palm, they are at first etiolated, like pale and thin, and they do soon flood with coloration. But the presence of light or the lack of it, you've never had that happen before. Your blooms always blossom green and with colored petals, and at first these are etiolated before that they. Before they flood with color, as if the magic was a bit like kind of latent. And when the orb appears, that little purple orb, it like kind of spins into existence and begins rotating your palm above the flowers, which all turn their heads toward it the way that sunflowers turn toward the sun. And it flickers with a little bit of light, but it's like it's just kind of sputtering and failing and sputtering and failing. And you get the feeling that the cantrip is functioning, but that the orb is having trouble determining the weather. As if, I mean, RO wouldn't have terms like atmosphere, but after the veil's burning, as if weather might not be working properly at the moment. Weather might not be what's happening outside right now. With your incredibly high passive perception score, all of the armored individuals around you have doffed that armor, save for Ethmund Kai, who has slept in his armor. That's probably a very uncomfy sleep. And the halfling lady, well, I was thinking more of like the plated people, but you are right, the halfling woman as well, they have doffed their armor, so Thespis has doffed his. And with your incredibly high passive perception, you can see that in his, he wears these kind of like dark navy blue garments and tabard over them. There is a little russet circle blossoming in the fabric. And you get the feeling he's bleeding in his cloak as he sleeps. You do notice that, wow, I'm gonna [00:42:27] Speaker A: just put my hand on him and cast cure wounds. [00:42:29] Speaker B: Okay, you can mark off that spell slot as you play so softly. You are sealed enough as a bard now that you can do that thing where you like. You place your fingers and you are playing. You are both plucking the chords and pressing the frets, so to speak. I don't know what they're called on a loop, but at the same time, and you manage to play the chords with one hand while putting your hand on with the other. And as your green magic flows into him, he shifts a little in his sleep and breathes a little evenly, and you don't see the color expand. You get the feeling you've probably healed whatever is going on. But While he slept. You get the feeling a wound opened? [00:43:06] Speaker A: Do you need me to mark? [00:43:09] Speaker B: We're okay as long as you mark the spell slot. We don't need to figure out the numbers. [00:43:12] Speaker A: Okay. [00:43:13] Speaker B: That was much sturdy to live in. [00:43:15] Speaker A: I have a free one gift. Okay. [00:43:20] Speaker B: Any other particular action you're taking? It's fine. [00:43:22] Speaker D: And fine. [00:43:23] Speaker A: I think she just kind of sits there and she doesn't really know what to do. Like, it's not a normal day of waking up. Like, normally when. [00:43:33] Speaker B: When this is the furthest day from normal of your lives. [00:43:35] Speaker A: Yeah, like, normally if she was woke up and saw, like, Craig awake or. Or anyone else awake, or even if she didn't, she'd be, like, waking other people up. She'd be starting to, like, do her routine. And I think she just can't bring herself to stand up. Like, she's just. She's exhausted, for one. I mean, not in the technical sense, but. [00:43:58] Speaker B: Yeah, but very much, yeah. [00:44:01] Speaker A: And I think also just a little bit in shock of, like, where do we even. Like, okay, we're just supposed to wake up and are we supposed to be back normal? Like, she doesn't even know what to like. Like, Craig is awake, sitting feet away from her, but she's like, what are the words to even say? So she's just kind of zoning out, I think. [00:44:29] Speaker D: Can I just say that Craig. There's no room to waste time now. And so I think he just gets up and, like, comes and sits beside you. And, like, we're not saying anything. You know, if you want to, you can, but, like, he just comes to sit next to you because there's just not time. [00:44:53] Speaker B: You're so into the scene, and I don't want to ruin that. The softness of your voice is very impactful and emotional. Do remember that we are recording audio. No, no, no. [00:45:01] Speaker D: But, like, I mean, too quiet. [00:45:02] Speaker A: I could hear it. [00:45:03] Speaker B: You're okay. [00:45:03] Speaker A: Oh, it was lower. [00:45:04] Speaker B: Just like you're nailing the performance. Just remember to project a little because you're editing this. Also, turn that mic towards you. When do you feel in your head [00:45:16] Speaker C: you can speak softly, loudly. [00:45:18] Speaker B: Yeah. And then I come over and she makes the rope. And you all sit quietly down next to each other as you sit and you wait. You watch Boz wake up. He shifts and he groans and he looks around and he looks at you all. He looks you both in the eyes, and there's a very cold, distant look in his eyes. And he just. There's a resignation, a despair in his eyes. You've seen before. And he just rolls back over and he goes back to sleep. [00:46:01] Speaker D: Can I make an insight check? [00:46:02] Speaker B: Sure. [00:46:06] Speaker A: No, here we go with insight. [00:46:09] Speaker B: And I will say actually that you have [00:46:16] Speaker D: advantage. [00:46:17] Speaker B: Yes, I would say you have advantage because this is your very close party member. [00:46:23] Speaker D: Well, I would say we're even. [00:46:24] Speaker A: He's my brother. [00:46:29] Speaker D: He's my brother. [00:46:30] Speaker B: He's not Craig's brother. You are. [00:46:32] Speaker A: Metaphorically. [00:46:34] Speaker B: Just tell me what you get. It's a 17. [00:46:36] Speaker D: Let's go. [00:46:37] Speaker B: I thought you were about to go. It's a seven. [00:46:41] Speaker D: What do I. What do I notice? The connections. Has he been here before? Has he done this before? [00:46:46] Speaker B: That's exactly what you notice. He has left before. And though he is very physically present, he is inwardly leaving at this time. [00:46:57] Speaker D: What? That is not. [00:46:59] Speaker B: Boss gone bye bye in past. Boss left. Bond gone. Ba's gone bye bye boss now go bye bye in past head. [00:47:07] Speaker C: He's dissociating. [00:47:09] Speaker D: Boz go bye bye death. [00:47:11] Speaker C: No, no, no. Boz dissociating. [00:47:14] Speaker B: This is an inside check, not a medicine check. Okay, let me say this very clearly. Boz has. Boz, the character has physically left the campaign numerous times. He's gone away. Oh, he has run from things. Inwardly emotion. Ali. He's doing that in his head now. So, like he woke up, remembered everything, saw everything, and just is avoiding it. He's going back to sleep. [00:47:41] Speaker D: It's almost like. [00:47:42] Speaker B: Don't know how to say that more [00:47:43] Speaker D: clearly than that, because what I was thinking and this was just my brain and maybe it's better. I'm just kidding. [00:47:51] Speaker B: I'm the DM now. [00:47:53] Speaker D: I was thinking, like, about how his land was like the people. Like his. His history with his. [00:47:59] Speaker B: Like with that high of an insight check. It does occur to you he comes from a land where everyone's a spellcaster. And given the events of the hateful. And that is not how we had to react to that moment. But I can't deny the fact that that was very funny. I don't like that you did it. And I like even less that I liked that you did it. [00:48:28] Speaker D: I didn't think about that. [00:48:30] Speaker B: I will now pass the baton to anyone else. Greta, you wake up. Save us from the. [00:48:38] Speaker D: Are you okay? [00:48:40] Speaker A: Yeah, I just. When Zach said that, it made me think of y. The whole lost lands, and I got really upset. I'm okay. [00:48:49] Speaker B: There's a lot of people who haven't been checked on. [00:48:51] Speaker A: Yeah, I have a list in my head, but I'm too afraid. Call them. And I think Ro is doing the same thing. She's mentally thinking that, but not wanting to pick up the stone and call it. [00:49:01] Speaker B: I forgot to open that document. [00:49:04] Speaker A: Sorry, Greta. Go ahead. [00:49:07] Speaker C: If it's okay with dm, I think Greta probably woke up a while ago, or she became awake a while ago, maybe not before Craig, since Craig was the first person. But I think she woke up and it. It kind of took her a while for everything to kind of like, as she was coming to consciousness, she kind of remembered everything. And I think. I think that for a while, she was at a point where when she woke up, she was excited for the day. And when she woke up, she was, like, happy to be awake. And when she woke up, she was, like, you know, excited to get up and explore or just. But I think for the first time in a while, she's just wishing that she could keep sleeping and just wishing that she didn't have to participate. And I think the. She's saddened by everything that has happened and all the reality, but also the realization of that feeling. Again, that's an uncomfortable feeling that she thought that she hadn't felt in a while. And just the feeling of that and the associations with that feeling and the memories of that feeling, I think, are also challenging as well as just the, like, everything else going on. So I think she probably, you know, she. She wakes up and just like, kind of silently, like, cries, like, not sobbing, but just, like, thinking about everything and just taking deep breaths and tears kind of, you know, slowly fall out. And then I think at a certain point, she. It's all just too overwhelming, and she's having trouble, like, not sobbing or having trouble staying quiet. So she just, as unobtrusively as she can, she just kind of, like, steps away and walks away. That whole caveman. Yeah, she just tries to step away and have some privacy so she can be quiet and not disturb others. [00:51:31] Speaker B: Greta, as you move for. Oh, shoot. Nothing. Sorry. [00:51:37] Speaker A: What? [00:51:38] Speaker B: Just thought of something. [00:51:40] Speaker D: Don't like that. What happened? What is it? We have to know. We have to know. [00:51:46] Speaker A: We have to know. [00:51:47] Speaker D: It's the law. [00:51:50] Speaker A: You have to tell us. It's the law, [00:51:57] Speaker B: Greta. As you move a bit further down into the cave, it's dark and it's cool. You feel as you step, your symbol lifts and falls on your chest. With each step, just a tiny bit, slight movement. And 1. The fourth or fifth step down the path, when it hits you, it hits you, like, hard and dense with more force, as if you were running. Now, it doesn't move that distance, but it returns to your chest with that Force. [00:52:32] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:52:32] Speaker B: You feel that in one of the steps. [00:52:37] Speaker C: She puts her hand on it and just kind of, like, traces it on her chest as she's walking. Like, just trace the shape through her [00:52:46] Speaker B: clothes as you walk. And you trace its metal lacing. The eye within the concentric eye within the concentric eye, each rotated 90 degrees. You turn a corner in the path. What was the name we gave your magic book? [00:53:06] Speaker C: The Inchoatrum. [00:53:08] Speaker B: The Inchoatrum is there on the ground. It is open, a stone path, and your quill and ink. Your well is uncapped, and your quill is in it, already dipped in the ink, and it is there on the ground in front of you in the path. Now you've also. You are leaving all light behind you at this point. You are moving into the total darkness of the cave. You can only barely make it up as it's ahead. [00:53:38] Speaker C: I walk towards it, and I cast light on the tip of the quill. [00:53:47] Speaker B: Okay. [00:53:49] Speaker C: Is there anything written as you walk [00:53:52] Speaker B: up and you move through the casting? The first light in the throat of the cave is the spark of your green magic before the cave is lit up with light. It's actually a little hard to look at the quill, and it starkly makes out the writing on the page, which. The writing is gorgeous. The handwriting is beautiful. It's not perfect calligraphy. It is a very embodied, kind of like an old font of script. And it's like. It's like someone whose handwriting you've seen where you're like, wow, that's gorgeous. And that could be its own font. You mean yours, but thank you. In an extremely practiced way. And you've seen that handwriting before. It has come to you when Ioun has written in your tone and as you look upon the handwriting down on my knees. Of the goddess of knowledge. [00:54:48] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:54:48] Speaker B: It says, only on the page, you have little time. [00:54:53] Speaker C: Mm. [00:54:54] Speaker B: He is here. [00:54:56] Speaker C: That's so scary. [00:54:57] Speaker B: And then the next line says, only we all have little time. [00:55:07] Speaker C: She just kneels at the book. And, you know, this is kind of one of the closest ways that she can be in the presence of her goddess. So she just kind of kneels and goes into child's pose a little bit and just, like, kind of clutches the symbol on her chest. I think she, like, fully breaks down, because I think she's. I mean, it's always. The realization has always been there, but like, this, the, like, being hit with the reality and the truth and, like, the proof that even her goddess, where she gets all of her power and where she gets all of her knowledge or, you know, a lot of her knowledge is like also desperate and also feeling this way is just like completely demoralizing and like, it's like all, like the place that is supposed to have all of the answers is also lost. And I think that's really scary. So I think she just breaks down. [00:56:17] Speaker B: For Greta, as you weep, as you cry over the incaatrim, your tears fall from your face plentifully and fully, and they each fall onto the page. And after a moment, as you blink through your eyes color, you look down at the page and where your tears have fallen, they have spattered on the page and in the shape of the spread movement, the way they've bled into the page and stained, there is an image being revealed. Like those kids toys where you get them wet and they start to reveal a picture. [00:57:04] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:57:05] Speaker B: You realize that IUN is sending you more than one message here. It's only partial. You get the feeling if you spread the liquid across the pages, she, like. [00:57:17] Speaker C: She like, takes her fingers to her eyes and like, like rubs her eyes and then like kind of finger paints on the. On the tape. She sees the tears that are already there and she tries to spread them out. [00:57:34] Speaker B: Incredibly appropriate way for Greta painting with her fingers, with her tears across the page, it's childlike. Revealed in that bizarre, magical paper, both ancient seeming and incredibly new and fresh, is the image of a mountain. A mountain covered in snow in a land you've never seen. It seems to have an arm branching this way and an arm branching this way, as if many mountain chains that arrive at one tall xenal point. Dark clouds are all around it. It's not an exact image. It's like a water painting, but an incredibly skilled one. Something that doesn't at all portray the exact realistic reality, but captures its essence excellently. And it is surrounded by dark clouds all around above it is covered in white snow, and it is an entirely otherwise white landscape below. And this is what's on the page. You do not recognize it. [00:58:43] Speaker C: Okay, she. She leaves. I think she. She sees that and I mean, I think that she could, if she had the option, just like, cry all day and cry for. It's. It's one of those things where, like, sometimes you cry and you feel better, and then sometimes you just cry and cry and cry and cry and you don't feel better until you just have to stop crying and still feel bad. I think it's one of those where, you know, she's. It's like, man, she would love to keep crying. And processing here, but there's little time in this. She's receiving a message. So I think she like, you know, dries her tears some more and she. Can I do it like an insight check or an arcana check to see if this is gonna fade away or if this. If the. If. [00:59:39] Speaker B: Give me an arcana check. [00:59:40] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:59:41] Speaker B: You've interacted with this item before? [00:59:43] Speaker C: Yeah, just. She just wants to know if, like, she needs to. Oh, no. [00:59:48] Speaker B: Abby rolled her dice without just like, openly on the ground. [00:59:53] Speaker A: It's not. No. [00:59:54] Speaker C: Oh, man. [00:59:54] Speaker B: Gotta roll it where you need to. [00:59:56] Speaker C: What if it had landed in the boat? Dang. [01:00:01] Speaker B: Your arcana modifier is pretty stout. [01:00:03] Speaker C: Yeah, it is pretty stout. That's a 22. [01:00:07] Speaker B: She got a seven on the die and she's like, oh, no. She looked down on paper and she was like, I forgot about my privilege with a 22. Greta, yes, you are the images on the inchoatrum shift. But you're reminded that everything recorded in the Aincoatrum can always be recalled. And you get the feeling that your goddess is extremely practical, very provisional with information, and that though she certainly hides some information sometimes, if this message has been sent to you at this time, you would surely be able to recall it. [01:00:41] Speaker C: Okay, okay. I'm gonna say that even though this is a magical item that works magically, Greta does still dog. Even though it is basically Google and she can think of what she wants, and it appears she does still like dog ear pages and use bookmarks just. Cause that's a system that she likes. And it's like a part of her practice almost. So she's like, okay. She dries her tears and takes a deep breath and kind of looks at it again, not from the perspective of awe and curiosity and receiving a message from her patron, but in like a, okay, I have to be a big kid now, and this is valuable information. So she kind of like starts to dog ear it and then like, oh, never mind. This is important. So she pulls out like a bookmark out of her pocket and bookmarks it [01:01:41] Speaker B: and [01:01:44] Speaker C: picks it up and takes it to see if anyone's awake to share this information. [01:01:49] Speaker B: Gret, as you pad back up the pathway. Sarah, the halfling rogue woman has awoken. She's just sitting numbly and staring. Paolo's not woken up. He seems medically fine. At a glance, he just looks exhausted. Thespis also still sleeps. Effmund also still sleeps. Alandra's unmoving. Nam has woken up. Shipping Cooper stalled out. But Nom has woken up and she's Just like a cat fresh brought home from the pound. Just stock still. She's just. She's still staring at the. At the ladder. That's it. The crossbone hand, just waiting, calmly ready for action. So some of you wake and rouse Craig. At some point, as you move, you touch something solid next to you on the ground. You hadn't even thought to search for it, because why would you. But a very familiar feeling comes to you as you check, as you find it, first with your hand and then with your eyes. The orb is there on the ground next to you. The glass sphere rests clear, and the black fluid is inside of it, but it is fully inert. It's a black sphere at its center, just resting there inside of the sphere itself. [01:03:20] Speaker D: I think Greg's gonna ask, like, I think, well, before he does anything, I think he's gonna take, like, a big inhale, preparing him. [01:03:30] Speaker B: So you see all this [01:03:34] Speaker D: preparing himself for a loss that he would never have dreamed of. [01:03:39] Speaker A: I reach over and grab Craig's hand, [01:03:43] Speaker D: picks up the orb, and he just whispers, are you there? Are you still there? [01:03:52] Speaker B: As you hold the heavy object in your hands, Craig, um. There's no response. You can, if you like. I will allow you to take your choice of insight or arcana check. Not simply because people get to make those when they don't know things, but because you have interacted with this entity quite a bit for insight, and you have interacted with this magical. With the Farsi, with the magical object decked quite a bit as an arcana check to try and interpret what this could mean. I. I will allow you to make that check if you would like, whichever you would prefer. I think both are appropriate. [01:04:39] Speaker D: Okay, I'm gonna do arcana. [01:04:41] Speaker B: Yes, girl. [01:04:46] Speaker D: That is a unnatural 20. [01:04:56] Speaker B: Again, these checks, they're not divining. They're not looking into the future. They're relying upon your experiences and intelligence to make inferences. The Farseet is resting at your side because it is inert. It is not being employed at all. We're old slain. Where he destroyed. He says that these are his eyes. Literally, physically, his eyes. Were he destroyed, you think this would also have damage. See, you are not certain. You're not, but you get the inclination. This is not the sign of old death. This is the evidence of his absence, that what he is warned of has come to pass. And he's done. Now that he has that, if this object is an object of evocative connection, of divining, if this connects you to him, he's leaving it Alone, because he wants nothing that can trace to where he is as a demi deific being in this plane. Practically a God himself. The God slayer is here. The predator of the apex predators has come. He is hiding away is the inclination you get. Not the certainty, but the suspicion. So the far seats here on the ground. Cause he's abandoned his own eye. It's too dangerous. It's the impression you get. [01:06:48] Speaker A: Okay. [01:06:50] Speaker D: Did you hear something, Abby? [01:06:51] Speaker B: It could be at this time that Greta rushes into the room holding the inch awaytrum in her hands. [01:07:00] Speaker D: What's going on? [01:07:02] Speaker C: She just. [01:07:05] Speaker D: She [01:07:08] Speaker C: sees the people that are awake and she sees her friends among her allies and she runs up to them trying to be mind. Well, she walks, trying to be mindful of who's still sleeping. And she just shows the book and shows the drawing and says, I think. I think this is where we should. I think this is where we should go. [01:07:35] Speaker D: Where is that? [01:07:37] Speaker C: I don't know. [01:07:39] Speaker A: Oh, do you think it's where he is? [01:07:46] Speaker D: I don't want to go there if he's there [01:07:50] Speaker B: or you guys. It was so quiet, you hadn't even noticed. But Tello has woken up. And when Craig goes, if he's there, he doesn't want to go there. Tello just goes and then wipes seeing dried blood from one of his eyes and like pushes himself up the wall. And he's like. He's never been a morning person and never has he been less a morning person, but from all the wall across the room, he's just kind of groggily staring at you all listening to the conversation at hand. [01:08:24] Speaker A: Is the like a raccoon? Wait, is our raccoon down there with us? Please just tell us. [01:08:33] Speaker C: I left him there. [01:08:35] Speaker A: Yeah, that we know of. He's down there, right? [01:08:43] Speaker B: I mean, nobody grabbed. [01:08:43] Speaker D: Abby's dyed her hair brown and like, [01:08:46] Speaker A: she is a rascal. [01:08:48] Speaker B: And it's funny because Abby's forgotten that she's wearing the mic. So she quiet. She tried to quietly go below the table to grab whatever's in this bag [01:08:55] Speaker A: that can't be found going through her clothes every morning. [01:09:02] Speaker C: I was hoping that the microphone would, like, squish against my camera. [01:09:06] Speaker B: You're pointing it at whatever you're messing with. I would like, which is fine. [01:09:11] Speaker C: I got my string. Don't worry. [01:09:13] Speaker A: Could I do a rumors or history check to see if I recognize the photo? [01:09:20] Speaker B: I'll save you the time. [01:09:21] Speaker A: Okay. I don't. [01:09:22] Speaker B: Yeah, it's a mountain. Somewhere in the world, it's a mountain. Okay. [01:09:26] Speaker D: Hey, logically how are we even gonna do this? Like, I'm being so honest. We are a flea. We are, like, so small. [01:09:40] Speaker B: Is this in character? [01:09:41] Speaker A: Yeah. Okay. I was like, wait, no, Like, I, [01:09:44] Speaker D: I, I kind of feel like right now we're, like, I would consider us dead. Like, I, I, I don't know how we're gonna do this. [01:09:54] Speaker A: We're not dead yet. [01:09:56] Speaker D: But, like, how, like, who. Who did this before? Can we ask? [01:10:00] Speaker A: Impressive advice, Ro looks to Shista and Alondra like, they're. [01:10:09] Speaker D: Are you okay? [01:10:11] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:10:11] Speaker B: Are you trying not to laugh, or did you poke yourself with a needle? [01:10:14] Speaker C: Trying not to laugh. [01:10:15] Speaker A: Okay, she wants donuts. [01:10:18] Speaker B: I inhaled a donut while you guys were talking, Greta. Oh, I did put the whole donut. Yeah. You guys role playing, the DM used envelope. It was super effective. [01:10:35] Speaker C: Greta kind of notices Craig's. Well, she sees that Craig is distressed, and she, like, walks over and puts a hand on his shoulder, and she goes, we're gonna figure it out. We're gonna do our best, and it's gonna find us or we're gonna find it. You know? [01:10:53] Speaker D: I mean, how do you, you know, like, surprise attack someone who's literally waiting to kill you? [01:11:00] Speaker C: I don't know. I. [01:11:03] Speaker A: Do you have any. The mo. Do you think that's where we're supposed to go, or. [01:11:09] Speaker C: I think so. [01:11:10] Speaker A: Where we shouldn't go or. [01:11:15] Speaker C: I think so. [01:11:15] Speaker A: I think it's going to take a lot of a screen. [01:11:18] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:11:18] Speaker D: I don't know if this is offensive, but it's really wimpy that, like, the. The gods are like, oh, you don't have a whole lot of time. [01:11:29] Speaker C: What do you. [01:11:30] Speaker D: And then, like, why are we the ones that have to go fight this thing? Like, where are they? I mean, they're kind of with us, but, like, where did they go? Yeah, because, yeah, he's a. I guess a God slayer, but he's also kind of like a little flea slayer. Like, he gonna kill us. [01:11:52] Speaker B: I don't know. [01:11:52] Speaker D: I. Logically, it doesn't make sense that the whole weight of the world rests on our backs. [01:12:01] Speaker C: Mm. [01:12:04] Speaker D: I feel really alone right now because I feel like, compared to that thing, we don't amount to much at all. How are we going to do this? Can it even receive damage? Will my. Will my sword even penetrate the darkness of it? Like, what. What difference do I make? Like, are we safer under here? Like, I don't know. [01:12:37] Speaker C: I think we are, but we have to help. We have to try. We have to. I mean, before we even do that, we have to go check on the villagers and see if like we have. We have. I mean, we have. So we are so small, but to those people, we're so big. And to those people we are the only thing that looks like hope. We are the only thing that to them, we're the only people that can stand up to the empire and they don't even know what we have to stand up to. [01:13:12] Speaker A: Now us and the warriors of the well are pretty much yellowbrand's last defense. I. I guess. [01:13:25] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:13:26] Speaker A: I mean, gods have. Gods are not even necessarily here now. Like he. [01:13:35] Speaker B: You can make a religion check for me if you'd like. [01:13:37] Speaker A: Ro. [01:13:39] Speaker B: This is something you would have been educated on. [01:13:41] Speaker C: Can I make one to see if she's wrong? [01:13:42] Speaker A: Ro is character points. Character. Can I use my character. [01:13:47] Speaker D: Can I use my character points? [01:13:49] Speaker B: My character point one's a one. [01:13:52] Speaker A: Ro is just really. I mean, right now. [01:13:56] Speaker B: You're in a living hell at the moment. [01:13:58] Speaker D: Yeah. I wish there was an option where I could translate my HP into. [01:14:05] Speaker C: That's kind of a great idea. [01:14:06] Speaker B: Yes. That would be an incredibly strong feature, wouldn't it? [01:14:09] Speaker C: No, no, no. [01:14:09] Speaker B: But you could say it could break the game. [01:14:11] Speaker A: You should give us that feed that [01:14:12] Speaker C: you lose your hit points. [01:14:13] Speaker D: But you could only use three at a time. [01:14:15] Speaker B: This is the three at a time. This is the great responsibility mechanically of the DM when considering Homebrew. It's yours to consider what features will help and what features will completely break the game continuing. [01:14:32] Speaker A: I don't know our gods. And she looks at Greta's notebook. She looks at over Thespis beside her with his saloon shield beside her. [01:14:47] Speaker C: They fell asleep together. [01:14:54] Speaker A: She looks at. She like feels the symbol of the maker and symbol of Ceylon on her chest. And she goes. I. I think. I think for some reason that we may. That I can't even fathom why they gave us. They gave us the power that they've given us to. If we couldn't stop it from happening, maybe we can at least end it from happening anymore. [01:15:47] Speaker C: We have to try. I mean there. [01:15:49] Speaker A: There has to be. I've said from the beginning, I. There has to be a reason we found each other. That we. We each have the abilities that we have. It can't all be for nothing. [01:16:19] Speaker B: One would hope. [01:16:22] Speaker C: I think it's a lot. It's a lot easier for me when I think. I think about just the small part of it, like just helping the people in the village or just helping the people that I know from back home. [01:16:35] Speaker D: Yes, you're right. It's not about me. It's about them. It's about the thing that's standing between them and their death. And as heavy as that is, that is the truth and that is what's happening. [01:16:50] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:16:51] Speaker D: And we have to fight even if we die, because the sooner that that happens, the more time that they would have. [01:17:00] Speaker C: And they deserve a chance. [01:17:02] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:17:04] Speaker C: As maybe as bad of a chance as we are, I think we might. We have to give them something. I think [01:17:17] Speaker D: DM I totally wish we could just call up the warriors of the well right now. [01:17:23] Speaker B: Yes. That is a stinky pooper. Sorry about that. [01:17:26] Speaker A: That's what we'll do at the very end of the next session. And then we'll be like, oh, we're with them. [01:17:35] Speaker B: Maybe. But it's fine. We were never gonna keep it. Moving on. It's fine. We were. It's us. We're not good at that. Moving on. [01:17:46] Speaker C: Hi, listener. [01:17:49] Speaker D: I just. [01:17:50] Speaker B: Sometimes I forget I pooted. [01:17:52] Speaker C: Sometimes I forget that they're there. So I just. Hi, listener. [01:17:58] Speaker D: What? [01:17:59] Speaker B: So it's at about this time that there is a deep groan. Just pain. There's this. As a. A big fist gets balled and put down the. In the ground. And Ehmund Kai's considerable body like, shifts. And there's more as he like rolls to a side and puts another arm down. And in the most labored, like someone fighting, he just pushes himself up to sitting. And his dreads are all like shoved up onto one side of his head. His beard is pushed against his face, his big white beard. And he just sits himself up and pushes himself up against a crate. And as he shifts, there's a bunch of like, like cracks from his back where he's been in one position way too long. And you're not supposed to sleep in that armor. And he just shifts and pushes himself up to sitting. He blinks his eyes really slowly before looking up to you all. And when he opens his eyes, his eyes are rimmed with like some dried blood and his eyes are bloodshot. Like the blood vessels in his eyes, some of them have been burst. And he just blinks hard. [01:19:20] Speaker D: This is your first time. [01:19:22] Speaker C: Wait, who was it that. That did the. That tried to revive him? [01:19:26] Speaker B: Ro succeeded in reviving him. [01:19:28] Speaker C: Who was it that tried on. Tried to revivify him or. We got there too late. [01:19:34] Speaker A: We got there too late to do it. And then when we teleported in, I [01:19:37] Speaker C: think I was the one that failed to resurrect. [01:19:40] Speaker B: He sat up against the crate. [01:19:44] Speaker D: I'm glad you're back. [01:19:50] Speaker B: Craig. [01:19:51] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:19:57] Speaker B: And he just leans over to the side of the crate and just throws up and just. [01:20:02] Speaker D: Oh. [01:20:06] Speaker B: And he just rubs his. [01:20:09] Speaker A: I say hand across his mouth. May I? [01:20:13] Speaker D: And she. [01:20:14] Speaker B: What? [01:20:16] Speaker A: Ro just whistles. [01:20:17] Speaker B: And it is cleaned up. And he goes, yes, fun. Guys. You are not dead. [01:20:31] Speaker D: You're not either. [01:20:32] Speaker A: Neither are you. [01:20:34] Speaker B: I am very alive. Saloon has been speaking to me. [01:20:45] Speaker C: Oh wow. [01:20:46] Speaker B: I am aware of our circumstance. And he just. His head thumbs I guess the crate behind him. And he goes. He's awake and he's with you. [01:21:00] Speaker D: Can I just say, he's like in my mind I imagine him if Alba Stumbledore and Hagrid had like. [01:21:08] Speaker B: Yeah, basically. But black. Yeah. [01:21:11] Speaker D: Entirely wise. And also. [01:21:14] Speaker C: And a little bit. Yeah, just a little bit. Yeah, yeah. [01:21:19] Speaker B: He slowly but surely pushes himself up against the crate a little further and he goes. I fought. Yeppen. The ice maw. That was worse. [01:21:32] Speaker D: Oh, so this isn't your first time. [01:21:42] Speaker B: We need to do something. [01:21:46] Speaker C: Greta nods and she gestures to her book and she's got her. Well Dame, can I do an answer? [01:21:54] Speaker B: I check four that's incredibly open ended. [01:21:58] Speaker C: Arcana four. I want to know if scrying on the picture is possible or if that would be useful. It says that it has to be a creature or an. [01:22:11] Speaker B: There's a second category but I can't remember if it's object or location. [01:22:15] Speaker C: Oh yeah. You can choose a location you have seen before as the target of this spell. [01:22:20] Speaker B: And you have a picture. [01:22:22] Speaker C: I have a picture. [01:22:22] Speaker B: Perhaps that is igs actually why your goddess gave it to you. [01:22:26] Speaker C: Well, I would. Yeah. So. [01:22:32] Speaker B: You hear all those angry cats in the room. [01:22:34] Speaker C: So Greta, Greta like she nods and she says we're working on it. And she has the picture and she has her scrying orb out that she has. That she has. [01:22:47] Speaker B: Yes, you have. You all have. One of your. Well, yalls scrying orb is the one set in the hat skull, I believe. [01:22:51] Speaker C: Well, I can't. [01:22:54] Speaker A: We don't use that one. [01:22:56] Speaker B: That's right. It's in Boz's possession. [01:22:59] Speaker A: Boz has that in his. [01:23:00] Speaker B: Boz, the collector of all cursed items has it. [01:23:03] Speaker A: I think he also has her hand. Am I right about that? [01:23:05] Speaker B: I think he's the repository for every cursed item in the world. But yes. [01:23:10] Speaker C: Yeah, so she. She has those materials out and she's listening and she's also flipping through her book and you know, reviewing spells and things. [01:23:24] Speaker A: Ro is thinking about how she knows we need to go upstairs eventually. That we're kind of hiding back here. But she. I'D like to do. She's sitting here really trying to think about it and wondering to herself, she's become a very experienced caster now, but. I'm listening, but [01:23:53] Speaker C: stop playing [01:23:56] Speaker B: torn. [01:23:59] Speaker A: She's looking around, and the veil isn't torn. [01:24:01] Speaker B: The veil's. [01:24:02] Speaker A: Well, yeah, it's open. [01:24:03] Speaker B: The veil's gone. [01:24:04] Speaker A: With the veil being. [01:24:05] Speaker D: No, more like, [01:24:15] Speaker C: So true. [01:24:17] Speaker A: No, we. We got it, [01:24:22] Speaker D: but this is just [01:24:23] Speaker B: really bad inspiration, I suppose. No. Then you just don't get. Should have used it. Moving on. [01:24:38] Speaker C: Okay. [01:24:39] Speaker A: She's. She's an experienced caster. She's looking around at all of her allies here and knowing that they all need. They need good food. They need comfort. [01:24:52] Speaker B: They need. [01:24:53] Speaker A: And she's wondering, though, once they get up top, would it be an okay idea? I'm so sorry. If she set up the fortress. Her fungi's fortress. [01:25:11] Speaker B: You're asking me if it would be a good idea? [01:25:12] Speaker A: Yeah, like, she wants to do an arcana check. Of, like, when I say that, I [01:25:16] Speaker B: mean an arcana check is, like, factual. [01:25:18] Speaker A: Well, no. [01:25:19] Speaker B: Strategic. [01:25:20] Speaker A: Okay, well, I was gonna say arcana check because. Because it's opening into, like, a pocket dimension. Would that mess with the veil? Like, that's what I mean. Because there's no veil with that. [01:25:29] Speaker B: Yeah, you can make an arcana check for that. Sure, sure. [01:25:30] Speaker A: Would that be, like, a problem? Just like, how I did that Roll that die. Cuz I did that at black. [01:25:36] Speaker B: Roll it. [01:25:36] Speaker A: There you go. That's die. Oh, that's not good. But I have arcana, so that's a 19. I rolled a four. I just want it to be known. [01:25:45] Speaker B: Jeez, they really roll. And every time they get a bad roll in the die, they go, oh, [01:25:48] Speaker A: I forgot how I just realized the lowest I can. [01:25:54] Speaker B: Any who. Well, I. I looked in the mirror and I just realized how hot I was. That's crazy. With a 19 row, it occurs to you that. No, it would be entirely unaffected and not in a good way. The veil being gone. It would be like. It would be like, can I still open the door and go in that closet? Yes. And the rest of your house is gone, so everything beyond that, protected your realm, is gone now. Anything could come and enter. It has never been so free to open a dimension, close a dimension, go somewhere. There were restrictions that could have complicated dimensional factors, and now there are none. You could freely enter a dimension as you could before. And it has never been so easy to enter or leave this plane. [01:26:53] Speaker A: But is. Would it be like, does that mean anyone could. [01:26:57] Speaker B: Is the thing your Spell will function the way it always has. But it is less restricted than it's ever been. Fine for you in this circumstance. Larger implications for the future. [01:27:07] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:27:07] Speaker B: You remember the reason the veil was erected was to keep the gods and supernatural powers at bay. [01:27:14] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:27:14] Speaker B: They are no longer barred. [01:27:18] Speaker D: Bard. [01:27:24] Speaker C: Okay, [01:27:27] Speaker B: so what does anyone in this scene do? [01:27:29] Speaker C: Greta would like to scry. [01:27:32] Speaker B: Okay. [01:27:32] Speaker C: I would like to scry. [01:27:33] Speaker B: Greta. [01:27:34] Speaker C: Hold on, hold on, hold on. [01:27:35] Speaker D: She speaks for the trees. [01:27:36] Speaker C: I do. [01:27:37] Speaker B: What? What? [01:27:38] Speaker C: That's true. [01:27:38] Speaker B: I mean, I understand the references to the Lorax, but. What? [01:27:41] Speaker C: I'm multiclass. [01:27:42] Speaker D: Where are the trees? [01:27:43] Speaker A: Damn. [01:27:43] Speaker C: I think you were. I think you were sleeping and I multi classed Bard. I mean Drew clerk, druid. [01:27:52] Speaker A: She is aura clerk. [01:27:53] Speaker B: Anyway, go ahead and mark off that spell slot, buddy. I don't know where you do that based on looking at your sheet. [01:28:01] Speaker C: It's already marked off. Don't worry about it. [01:28:02] Speaker B: Yeah, that's what I'm confused about. It shouldn't be worrying about it happening with it sheet. Okay. What do you mean? [01:28:12] Speaker A: We're all like. Oh, let's go back to not in person. Cuz Zach is inspecting our sheet. [01:28:17] Speaker B: I never looked at these things before. What's happening to that sheet? [01:28:20] Speaker D: That's why mine's on a screen. [01:28:24] Speaker C: This is a normal. I don't know what you're talking about. [01:28:26] Speaker B: All your spells are marked, used. All of them. [01:28:29] Speaker C: No, they're not. [01:28:30] Speaker D: No, no. Cuz we long nested over here. [01:28:33] Speaker B: That's how you do that. [01:28:34] Speaker A: That's interesting. [01:28:35] Speaker C: This is the ones that I have prepared. [01:28:37] Speaker B: Okay, okay, okay. Sorry, did you just at me? [01:28:42] Speaker D: Get used to it. [01:28:47] Speaker B: This is going to be one of those sessions. So Greta, you focus on the orb and let's see. I'm sure I can mix this up somehow. As you focus on the orb, your vision of this reality dissolves. And as it fades away, a new image is formed. You don't need to really. There's no save to be made here. It's just a location. It can't save against you. [01:29:14] Speaker C: So cool. That's fun. I could go to the museum and be like. And I'll go there and I'll go there and I'll go there and I'll go there. [01:29:22] Speaker B: You could. [01:29:23] Speaker C: That's cool. [01:29:24] Speaker B: So you focus on the location and the image that revolves for you first is quite pale. So pale that you feel the scrying has failed. But soon. Yes. [01:29:35] Speaker C: I think that as this is happening, she's got her eyes closed and she's with one hand like drawing notes and Sketching and. [01:29:45] Speaker B: Oh, that's actually really cool. [01:29:47] Speaker C: Like whatever she sees. So she'll write notes and she'll. [01:29:51] Speaker B: What are you. Are you offering it to me or what are you saying about it? Just say it. Oh, yes, I would like to use a drink, please. [01:29:58] Speaker D: Can I go ripple? [01:30:01] Speaker B: Greta. As you sketch and record notes with one hand on a blank page of the incoatrum and hold the scrying orb with the other and everyone else can see like vague, sort of like watercolor abstractions of what you're seeing in the orb in your eyes. Resolving the image is this great white expanse before you realize that it's a vast amount of snow. And the snow is not simply on the ground. It is blearing snow in the air. You are looking at a frost like hellscape. I mean, this is. You've never seen a part of the world this cold, this plunged into winter. It's almost hard to make the image out. All you see is white in the air, on the ground. Thank you. In the wind. And then eventually your vision is literally the blurring. You realize is your vision moving through this frosted hellish scape. [01:30:52] Speaker D: I'm actually. [01:30:53] Speaker B: I'm gonna pick a different. Hold on. Give me one second with the music. It's taking me time to get used to this needful match. [01:30:58] Speaker C: I really like. Normally I turn the music off, but I really like being able to hear it. [01:31:09] Speaker B: Nope, that's not it. But had a similar name. That was the problem. Oh, it's this one. Yes. Okay. So your vision. I know it's. I know. Your vision moves through the air. And as you grow closer, you see, at first you think you're moving forward through the widest bands, but eventually you realize you're moving up and you can tell the orientation because on the top of your vision is this all consumingly black sky. Just a black sheet storm above. And you start to realize that you are moving up because it is starting to lose your leave your vision. All you're seeing is the white. So you are. Your point of vision is literally being moved up and facing downward toward the ground. As you are losing sight of the black storm. And as you do, you realize you're coming higher and higher and higher and higher because of all of that blearing white becomes just sort of like a blanket of white below. And as you move high enough, you're starting to see these dark branches of color, long veins of stone in the earth, the arteries of yalabran mineral and unmoving rising up through the earth. And you Realize there's one long branch, then another, then another five from all different directions. Long chains of Mount Contiguous. They rise to points in some places. But they're not just. It's not mountain here and mountain here, all jutted and pressed up against each other in the more typical formation of mountains. These are continuous chains from all different directions. And these five, eventually these five arteries of the earth meet a heart. This great, great mass mountain at their [01:32:57] Speaker A: center [01:33:00] Speaker B: in the heart of this snowy landscape is this great dark mountain. And it is over this place that the dark storm churns. And you see cracks that flash the landscape red. There's a storm building over this mountain, but you see no horrendous figure here. He's not come here. Perhaps he's still on his way. He did not fly so fast as the fire in the sky. But it's also been quite some time. If this is his destination, you perceive that he's not there. Now, he must have other business. From first. This place, you observe it clearly. And when you look at it from above, there's something about it. Something stirs in you as you gaze upon it. Like you can feel a memory, but it's not yours. A memory all this world has of this place. Otherwise you remain there, hovering above the image. No other detail or visible change. [01:34:22] Speaker C: Okay. [01:34:24] Speaker B: Oh, my goodness. Beer's so marginal. But hard cider. Cause that's just alcoholic apple juice. Yeah. Drink responsibly, listener. Only if you're of age. Genuinely solid advice. You can sponsor us, Blue Moon. That's not what I'm drinking. But you can sponsor us. I will. I will actively take a sponsorship from Blue Moon. But holy crap, I will be sponsored by Lagavulin so fast. Anyway, [01:34:59] Speaker C: I want to say that like her hand gets cold. Like, can I say that like she's like touching the orb and like her hand, like her fingers start to hurt cause it's a little too cold. [01:35:14] Speaker B: The smallest amount of frost accumulates on the glass. [01:35:21] Speaker C: So the red storm is growing above. [01:35:24] Speaker B: Slowly, very slowly. [01:35:27] Speaker C: Okay. I think she just dwells for a moment on that feeling of familiarity. And like, like in her mind, it's like she. She. Because she's crying in her mind. And you know when like you. You like focus. Like you can like focus on things at a distance. Like I could look at my finger or I could look at the mantle. She like kind of like focuses in. [01:35:54] Speaker B: Shift your depth. [01:35:55] Speaker C: She like focuses her attention on that feeling. Greta, just to dig a little deeper [01:36:01] Speaker B: on that High priestess of the Goddess of Knowledge, the lady of secrets, the keeper of wisdom. Maybe it was you who was shown this vision for a reason. Maybe it was you who was chosen for a reason. [01:36:22] Speaker D: Reason. [01:36:24] Speaker B: You're gonna give me a check? [01:36:26] Speaker D: Okay, okay. Okay. [01:36:27] Speaker B: You can choose whether or not you want this to be investigation. Well, you can make this investigation or you can make it history. I'll take either. [01:36:41] Speaker D: Okay. I'd love anything. [01:36:45] Speaker B: Well, the way I. First of all, you're welcome. The way I look at it is I'm not even trying. First of all, it is partially a move of mercy because it sucks when you're just bad at the thing, but also because I like deciding exactly what a check is is pretty subjective. So when I think there's grounds for it to be one of two things, I like to give that liberty because I think it gives players a little agency. But I also think it's appropriate. I think it makes room for a logic that isn't simply what do I, the dm, think in any given moment? [01:37:13] Speaker D: How would you feel if I put yeast in your apple juice? That's how I feel about that. [01:37:17] Speaker C: If I put what? [01:37:18] Speaker A: Yeast? [01:37:19] Speaker B: What? [01:37:19] Speaker D: What? [01:37:20] Speaker B: I don't know. [01:37:21] Speaker A: I think there may be. It's a beer. [01:37:25] Speaker B: She doesn't drink. Craig's is that alcoholic, is basically. Jackie's is that vegan. [01:37:35] Speaker D: Is that alcoholic, is crazy. [01:37:37] Speaker B: And you do not have to. But if you. You do have your pretty. If you want to use it. I'm not saying you need to, [01:37:49] Speaker C: just for checks and giggles. [01:37:58] Speaker B: Hey, you rolled the four. [01:38:01] Speaker C: Awesome. [01:38:02] Speaker B: So your peridium has been utilized. [01:38:03] Speaker C: Okay. [01:38:04] Speaker D: Okay. [01:38:06] Speaker C: That's a 31. [01:38:09] Speaker B: Gosh dang, you needed it. This was DC30. [01:38:13] Speaker C: Oh, my gosh. [01:38:14] Speaker A: Let's go. [01:38:15] Speaker C: I'm so happy I used it. What is it? [01:38:20] Speaker B: Oh, my goodness. Snow. Yeah, it was a metaphor, but it was literal. The snow, the thunder. You heard this. That wasn't just some sort of a sadistic poem. It was a prophecy. [01:38:43] Speaker D: Where is it? [01:38:44] Speaker B: All that time ago? Oh, your mind recalls it perfectly, you Encyclopedia of knowledge. Years ago. [01:38:54] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:38:54] Speaker B: Three years ago in story, four years ago for us in real life, you were whispered a horrible. [01:39:05] Speaker C: I don't even think it's in this notebook. [01:39:07] Speaker B: Not a clue, but an inexorable part of the march toward the future. Not Zorgrim helping you, but a part of reality that couldn't be hidden. The way time flows like a river as you gazed into a future you couldn't help but see down the stream. And Greta, in this moment, it comes back to you. More quiet than the snow, even louder than the thunder to this new one's blood. Their souls will all sunder. Feel the flesh as it breaks, as it bends. Feel the flesh as it meets its mortal end. It will hunt you down and it will seek you out. It will hear you as you scream your final bout. It is death. And it is more quiet than the snow. [01:40:02] Speaker C: Can she hear? [01:40:04] Speaker B: Yes, you can hear and talk to your allies. You just can't see while you're talking. [01:40:08] Speaker C: Can I hear the snow? [01:40:12] Speaker A: Oh, like the snow fall. [01:40:14] Speaker C: Like, can I hear the wind? [01:40:15] Speaker B: I think you can. La, my love. La mala. [01:40:22] Speaker C: When did we hear this? [01:40:24] Speaker A: Okay, sorry, I'm not the dm. You heard this. [01:40:29] Speaker C: He's like, only the DM can make sense. [01:40:31] Speaker D: I only woosh. [01:40:32] Speaker B: I know. [01:40:33] Speaker A: It was in the. It was in the wild. I have it. I have it on me. Ro has this poem on her. She copied it into her. She didn't take it, but it was in the. In the wild. In the. [01:40:47] Speaker C: In the forest? [01:40:48] Speaker A: Yes, in the wildwoods, the place we found. Ro copied this down onto her journal. That's why I have it printed. Because everything I have printed row had copied into her journal. [01:40:57] Speaker B: Yeah, it was in. [01:40:58] Speaker A: So if you say it, Ro, like, flips to her page. [01:41:01] Speaker B: You know, you all were the ones who read it. The words of the. Well have heard it. But that's another thing. [01:41:12] Speaker A: Ro opens her book and lays it beside [01:41:16] Speaker B: Greta. Greta's, who cannot see it all. And Greta, you listen. You listen. In the vision, you do hear the. [01:41:25] Speaker C: It just feels. I feel like it's so loud to [01:41:28] Speaker B: her, you know, I wasn't trying to dunk on you. [01:41:33] Speaker C: She. Like that, like, those words, like, flood back into her head. And I think, like, as it does, she can, like. She can like the snow. The sound of the snow is overwhelming. Like she feels like she can hear every single little snowflake landing on her ears. And she feel like she can, like, hear the blood rushing in her head. And she just feels like she can hear, like, the wind just completely overwhelming. And she just, like, takes a shaky breath and. Just. [01:42:13] Speaker B: And then Greta. [01:42:14] Speaker C: Oh, no. [01:42:16] Speaker B: There's another feeling. Your sight doesn't change. But as you all watch Greta have the vision, her hand on the orb tightens. She actually lifts it up off the ground a little bit, unwillingly. It's a huge orb and you. Okay. Like palming a basketball. [01:42:38] Speaker C: Sorry. It's just like. I feel like it would be like and all. [01:42:41] Speaker B: Okay, so you don't. Fingers scrunch up on it. And you can see the white nerd. [01:42:45] Speaker C: I was Saying, it's like. [01:42:46] Speaker A: It's like, go ahead. [01:42:48] Speaker B: And you all watch in real time as all the hair stands up on the back of her neck. As Greta, you feel something you've felt before. No, as you watch. Like being alone in the dark. [01:43:09] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:43:10] Speaker B: It's like that feeling when something's watching you. You've had this feeling. You had it yesterday and he arrived. But this feeling, this feeling you've had before, you had it when you used the All Seeing sensor in the Temple of Ioun and you looked too far into the future. There's no veil anymore, okay? Where you look, he can look back. And in your vision, a sound overcomes the sound of the snow. You feel as though that sensor you're looking through through is pulled higher up toward the storm. You all watch in the real world as Greta's gripping the scrying orb and sort of convulses momentarily. [01:44:19] Speaker C: Can I drop the spell? [01:44:23] Speaker B: Give me a wisdom saving spell. Oh, man. [01:44:27] Speaker D: Can I guide guidance? [01:44:33] Speaker B: Give me Craig, give me an arcana check to try and figure out what's going on right now. Because you're not aware of any of this. Yeah, yeah. [01:44:38] Speaker D: She's gripping the orb. She looks distressed. She's flinching. [01:44:41] Speaker B: You know what? Actually, yeah, I totally take that argument. Yeah. You put your hand on her and the magic flares and you guide her. You are guided. That's a crit. That's a nat. 20. [01:44:49] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:44:49] Speaker B: Oh, it's nice to be back at the table. [01:44:52] Speaker C: So 29. And I can roll a guidance. [01:44:54] Speaker B: I'm pretty dying. [01:44:55] Speaker D: She's like, oh, and I'll say so I can make it better. [01:44:58] Speaker C: That's a 30. [01:45:00] Speaker B: That's good. 30 is what you needed. [01:45:04] Speaker C: Oh, thank you. [01:45:06] Speaker B: More than the new class of DCs now. [01:45:08] Speaker C: Wow. [01:45:08] Speaker B: Don't like that, Greta. As you flinching back away from the orb. The orb to the floor. And you all watch as Greta falls back. And you get the feeling you just move out of the sight. Of what? Whatever. [01:45:22] Speaker D: That. [01:45:22] Speaker B: Well, you know who it was. [01:45:25] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:45:25] Speaker B: You just remove yourself from his gaze. [01:45:28] Speaker C: Oh, just in time. Hi, baby. [01:45:30] Speaker D: Did he see us? [01:45:31] Speaker B: The dog's here. I was like, did you just high, baby? The bloodied one. [01:45:35] Speaker A: That's what I thought she was doing, but it was the dog. He's like. He's like, what? [01:45:49] Speaker C: Seduce the dragon. [01:45:50] Speaker A: Are you flirting with me right now? [01:45:53] Speaker B: My players waited five years to do the I seduce the dragon. [01:45:56] Speaker D: Can I ask a question? The dog, brown. What? Why is the dog, like, half brown in the areas? What do you know what I mean, that's mean. [01:46:06] Speaker A: Because he is also. [01:46:08] Speaker B: It's for biological reasons. [01:46:10] Speaker C: He's a dog. [01:46:10] Speaker A: It's because he's also the bloodied one. No, he doesn't. [01:46:15] Speaker B: He's the muddied one. [01:46:16] Speaker A: He. He has really. He has really itchy spots and some warts, and he scratches out until he bleeds. And so it has dyed his fur that. [01:46:27] Speaker D: Are you serious? [01:46:28] Speaker A: Yeah, because he's. He's clean. [01:46:29] Speaker B: Oh, my goodness. [01:46:32] Speaker D: I know. I know. Dogs will get white dogs. [01:46:37] Speaker A: No, it's magical and this slow. [01:46:39] Speaker B: This has been very good. [01:46:40] Speaker A: Sorry. [01:46:41] Speaker D: So. [01:46:41] Speaker B: No, it's okay. Moving back to that session. [01:46:44] Speaker C: Right. [01:46:47] Speaker B: I'd like everybody to roll me a D20. [01:46:49] Speaker A: What if I know I'll pick. [01:46:52] Speaker D: Why? How important is this role? [01:46:58] Speaker B: Go ahead and roll a D20. [01:46:59] Speaker D: Get out of it. [01:46:59] Speaker A: Do I need to roll one for boss? [01:47:02] Speaker B: I'll just keep it with you. Okay. So he's functioning NPC at this point. [01:47:05] Speaker D: I'm gonna use my inspiration for that one. One. [01:47:07] Speaker B: Okay. Funny thing is Micah doesn't know whether or not she wants to roll high or low. What'd you get, bud? [01:47:15] Speaker D: Why you tell me that? Just did the flat D20. [01:47:19] Speaker B: No modifiers. [01:47:20] Speaker C: I got an 18. [01:47:21] Speaker B: Okay. [01:47:21] Speaker C: I got a 12. [01:47:22] Speaker A: I got a 7. [01:47:24] Speaker B: You all watches as Greta, like, convulses backward. And you're moved back from the orb. Greta, you are snapped back to the world that you know, moved back rapidly to the conscious that you can understand and fathom. And as you are returned to that reality, you look back at all of your friends. Edmund is a cross leaned up against the crate, just staring at you intently. His eyes are fluttering a little bit, as if remaining awake is difficult for him. But he understands the gravity of what's happening. As he inspects you, your other friends are watching. Boz has sort of, like, sat up. Now he's rolled over, and he's, like, groggily watching. But he is watching intently. And all those who are awake are staring at you, Greta, as you. As you like, open your eyes, and then you feel wetness on your lip. And you reach up and touch the blood on your nose. But as you all return to consciousness. [01:48:25] Speaker C: What's consciousness? [01:48:27] Speaker B: Who will make me a charisma? Saving throw? [01:48:31] Speaker D: Okay. [01:48:34] Speaker A: I pet a diggle for good luck. [01:48:38] Speaker D: Did it work? [01:48:39] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:48:40] Speaker A: Okay, that's a 15. So that's a. A 25. [01:48:45] Speaker C: Do you have your per diem? [01:48:46] Speaker A: I do have my per diem, but that wouldn't get me a 30. So. So I'm not going to use it. [01:48:51] Speaker B: Who knows what the DZ's are at this point? [01:48:53] Speaker A: But I know if it's a 30, then I'm going to stick with a 23. [01:48:59] Speaker B: As you convulse back up against the wall and thud up. Everyone sees you all sees you end your scry. And then, Ro, you feel this scraping across your mind, these claws in your consciousness, and you hear. Need you to give me a constitution saving throw. [01:49:20] Speaker C: Oh, hey. [01:49:21] Speaker A: That I may need to use. [01:49:22] Speaker D: It doesn't. I have. I have something. [01:49:24] Speaker B: Okay, [01:49:28] Speaker D: that's not good. [01:49:30] Speaker A: I'm gonna use the per diem. [01:49:34] Speaker B: Man, that dice tower is so sick. [01:49:35] Speaker D: Isn't that. Isn't that where, like, hold on. Around me? [01:49:41] Speaker B: You what? Can I mute you? Probably as soon as I remember how that works. Let's see. You are Abby. [01:49:50] Speaker A: You're Abby. [01:49:51] Speaker B: This is Abby. Those little stickers you gave me were so helpful. Jack, I believe you're muted. Okay, cool. [01:49:59] Speaker A: An 11. [01:50:00] Speaker B: 11. [01:50:01] Speaker D: Damn it. [01:50:03] Speaker B: You all watch as Ro writhes and convulses. And then she falls forward on the ground, kind of to all fours. And you all watch as there's one violent heave and a wretch. She just. And you all watch Ro throw up about a quart of blood. [01:50:25] Speaker D: What? [01:50:26] Speaker B: Onto the floor. [01:50:31] Speaker A: Would you like to use? [01:50:32] Speaker B: I would love to use your dice tower, actually. Oh, this thing's so sick. [01:50:39] Speaker A: That was weird. [01:50:40] Speaker B: It went out of town for my tray. [01:50:44] Speaker A: The other dice are kind of bouncing. Like, those dice are more bouncy in the tray. Oh, don't like the face you made, bud. [01:50:53] Speaker B: You take 25 points of necrotic damage. [01:50:55] Speaker A: I love that. Necrotic. That's right. [01:50:57] Speaker B: And Ro has fallen on all fours and just thrown up a pint of blood onto the floor. [01:51:04] Speaker A: You said 25. [01:51:05] Speaker B: 25 points as the blood glistens there on the ground. Oh, that comes in differently than I wanted. Paratoid me, I was like that comes in so intensely. Can I start off softer as it falls there? Actually, this isn't the vibe I'm going for. Sorry. I've decided against the action I took. I want to pick a different one. I guess we'll stick with this one. Oh, I have to unmute you? Yeah, that's how that works. Try talking again, Abby. Okay, Sorry. I remembered that track differently. The blood on the ground expands, Widens. You all have to kind of move to get out of its way. Assuming that you do. Unless you remain in it and that little pool of blood expands to be about five or six feet wide. Wide. Before. Rising up in the center Taller and taller until it makes a vaguely humanoid shape. And the center of its face melts away until there's a gaping void in the center of the head. Just a hollowed space before this little reddish flame appears, floating and burning, flickering. The tongue in its center. And the figure turns slowly. It's abstract, like a messy impression of a vaguely humanoid face. And where the fire burns in its center, it just shifts around toward you all. And it stares at you. [01:53:18] Speaker A: There. [01:53:20] Speaker B: I should turn it down a little. Yeah. [01:53:21] Speaker A: Okay, you're a little quiet, so. [01:53:24] Speaker B: Oh wait, I want to turn it up or down? [01:53:26] Speaker A: No, you. You want to turn the music down a little. [01:53:28] Speaker B: Oh, do I want to turn? [01:53:29] Speaker A: Yeah, cuz you're not like yelling. [01:53:30] Speaker B: Yes, that's like. Good point, girl. You're so yoss right now. The figure looms there. You all stare at it as it looks at you. In all of your hearts, in all of your minds. There is a terrible unease, like being on the other side of a chain link fence from a lion. You all feel like you in the room with something that you shouldn't be. Anyone doing anything? [01:54:10] Speaker C: Is Ro conscious? [01:54:12] Speaker A: Yeah. What am I? [01:54:13] Speaker B: I mean, that happened to you, but otherwise your chin's covered in blood, but. [01:54:18] Speaker D: Okay. Zach, can you give me. [01:54:24] Speaker A: I. [01:54:25] Speaker D: There's a spell I wanted to do and I'm wondering if it's even worth it. I don't think I've used it before. [01:54:29] Speaker B: Sure. [01:54:32] Speaker D: So I'm wanting. I'm wanting to do dispel magic, but I'm wondering if that. [01:54:36] Speaker B: Man. I knew that's what you were gonna say. [01:54:37] Speaker D: Why? [01:54:38] Speaker B: I don't know. I just knew. [01:54:40] Speaker C: Okay. [01:54:40] Speaker D: I feel like it. [01:54:41] Speaker B: I wish I'd said it. [01:54:42] Speaker D: A pebble. Like throwing a pebble at Goliath, you know, it's like. Is this even gonna make a difference? [01:54:47] Speaker B: The way it works is. It's the spell. Magic's actually kind of like. Hold on. Am I right about this? [01:54:53] Speaker D: Well, it's 10 plus the spells level. [01:54:56] Speaker B: Yeah. Okay. So yeah, it's like counter spell. Wait, let me check before I talk. Only cuz the Internet's gonna hear it. [01:55:02] Speaker D: I have the description. [01:55:03] Speaker C: Only cuz the Internet's gonna. [01:55:04] Speaker B: Well, I don't want someone to be like. That's not. [01:55:06] Speaker A: I have it open if you want. [01:55:09] Speaker B: Yes. This is why I bring my music. [01:55:11] Speaker D: 3:34, I think I brought. [01:55:14] Speaker B: Okay. Yeah. So it's exactly like counterspell. I was right. Voices in my head. So the way it works is if you cast it at something that was a spell level equal to it. It just automatically turns it off. If the spell that you're using it against, if it's. If it's a force produced by a spell, it's more than that. It's 10 plus the spell's level. So then you'd need to make an ability check your spellcaster modifier charisma against it. Now, there are effects that are not based in spells. So a DM could have the latitude to be like, that doesn't work, but I think that's stupid. So I try to guesstimate what would. [01:55:57] Speaker A: What kind? [01:55:58] Speaker B: Like, if this were a leveled spell, what would it be? Right? So I would just pick that. And then if you were like, you know what? I want to roll the. The die. You could say, I think this is a third. About a third level spell or lower. You could just try it and it would just work. Now, if you're like, no, I think it could be higher, but I want to try my luck. You could do an ability check, roll the die, add on your charisma modifier, and see it's up to you and your ruling. [01:56:23] Speaker C: What happens if you cast it at a higher level? [01:56:26] Speaker B: Oh, yes, sorry. If you. That. Thank you, Abby. If you cast that at a higher level, I'm like, let's say you cast it at a fourth level instead of a third. If the effect is fourth level or lower, it automatically dispels. Right. If it meets the level of the effect that it's being cast against, it just cancels it. If it's below, you got to roll for it. [01:56:44] Speaker D: I feel like Zorum spell levels are, like, a little out of this world, and I'm wondering if this is, like, spell level 10 or 20 or, like. But I don't know if that's, like, what are the. [01:56:56] Speaker A: What's the. [01:56:57] Speaker D: The highest. Like, [01:57:00] Speaker B: in game player speak, outside of character. Ninth level spells ninth, but who knows? It's a deity. Could be higher, could be lower, who knows? Because not everything a deity does is necessarily at the max possible level. But also, maybe it is. You haven't worked with a whole lot of gods, right? You've talked to a couple sometimes, which is far more than a mortal ever does. But few mortals have ever tried to contest a God on something, so you're not exactly sure where it falls. It's the kind of bravery I like to see. [01:57:34] Speaker C: I was gonna say, there we go. There it is. [01:57:37] Speaker D: But it doesn't really make a difference what I cast it at. If it still has to be plus 10. [01:57:41] Speaker B: I would say, yeah, if you're being Clever. You cast it at the lowest level you can because the odds of this being low are not guaranteed. [01:57:51] Speaker D: Yeah, so I'm gonna go ahead and cast that, Craig. [01:57:54] Speaker B: What does it look like? As this bloody entity forms and you try to dispel it with your magics. What does that look like? [01:58:04] Speaker C: You are wrong. [01:58:05] Speaker D: You were made from the wrong motive. You are not meshed together with flesh and bone. You were made to destroy. And I will destroy you, Craig, as [01:58:18] Speaker B: you whisper those words. They start in common, but they end in deepest speech. Just that. Those many layered voices in that ancient tongue. And there's like these kind of gold reverberations that ripple across the bloodied figure. [01:58:31] Speaker D: And I have. I have to rule. [01:58:34] Speaker C: Take a D20. [01:58:35] Speaker B: And your charisma. Your charisma modifier. Your charisma modifier. Oh, Micah's smelling a smirk. What'd you get, girly? [01:58:52] Speaker D: Don't ask me. [01:58:53] Speaker B: Oh, don't ask me. I don't know. We've got another quote. You got a lot of good quotes tonight. [01:59:04] Speaker C: Elongate the quote factor three. [01:59:08] Speaker B: What? [01:59:09] Speaker D: 21. [01:59:11] Speaker B: Elongate the quote. [01:59:12] Speaker C: No, I said. Long day at the quote factory. Wait. [01:59:16] Speaker D: Okay, here's what we're going to do. Here's what we're going to do. I'm going to add my per diem. [01:59:25] Speaker B: Okay. What you get on your die? [01:59:27] Speaker D: It was a 21. [01:59:29] Speaker B: You had a 21 on your die? [01:59:30] Speaker D: Well, the night 18, but plus was 21. [01:59:34] Speaker B: Okay, your charisma offers plus two. [01:59:36] Speaker D: Don't ask me questions. [01:59:37] Speaker B: I have 21 questions. [01:59:39] Speaker D: No, I have charisma plus three. [01:59:42] Speaker B: So you got a 19 on your die. Yeah, 19 plus three is 22. [01:59:46] Speaker D: Oh, okay. [01:59:47] Speaker B: Are you adding your ask me so many questions. [01:59:52] Speaker D: Ask me all the questions. [01:59:54] Speaker C: Ask me more questions. [01:59:55] Speaker D: Me more. [01:59:56] Speaker A: Ask me more. [01:59:57] Speaker C: Are you adding more? You need to ask for it to be 30. 23. [02:00:01] Speaker D: What do you think? [02:00:03] Speaker B: Yeah, just make your choice. [02:00:10] Speaker D: Is he scary? [02:00:14] Speaker C: Heck yeah. [02:00:15] Speaker D: That's a 25. [02:00:17] Speaker B: Did you get a four? [02:00:17] Speaker D: No, I got 26, cuz. Four plus two is six. [02:00:21] Speaker B: There we go, buddy. [02:00:22] Speaker D: I work at the bank. [02:00:26] Speaker B: I didn't want to say it. [02:00:30] Speaker D: My drawer is always balanced by the. [02:00:32] Speaker B: As you speak, the ripples move across the figure in it. [02:00:38] Speaker D: Are you kidding? [02:00:39] Speaker B: Sloths down the. [02:00:40] Speaker D: Are you for real? Can I like, dance in the puddle? [02:00:43] Speaker B: And that's weird. This. This emissary of the bloodied one is gone. [02:00:53] Speaker C: Let's go cry. [02:00:55] Speaker D: Can I know his hp? Just for funsies. [02:00:58] Speaker B: It wasn't a stat blocked creature. It was perhaps a method of Some form of communication. Oh, wapa nap wap. Womp, womp, womp, womp. There goes that plot point. [02:01:13] Speaker C: Scary thing. And we made it go away. [02:01:16] Speaker B: But there's also a moral victory for the story that matters too. [02:01:20] Speaker C: We didn't know that it was a communication device. [02:01:23] Speaker D: Are you actually kidding? [02:01:24] Speaker A: I was throwing it. [02:01:25] Speaker C: No, Michael, you did a good thing. You did a good thing. [02:01:29] Speaker D: Shut up. [02:01:32] Speaker B: Monsters with scores don't tend to be able to be just dispelled. But effects can be. [02:01:37] Speaker C: That was good. And I'm glad that you did it. [02:01:39] Speaker B: Two things happened. A massive part of story and plot is just gone. But also a moral victory for these characters in their Star Wars. [02:01:49] Speaker A: Why do you say that to us like that [02:01:53] Speaker C: we didn't know. [02:01:55] Speaker B: But also a very character appropriate choice. That is a moral victory. And proof that these magics are not infallible was also won. So it is not an unmeaningful success. And it feels exc. Something Craig would do. Yeah. What's up, dude? [02:02:10] Speaker D: Are we still gonna get that plot point? [02:02:11] Speaker B: Eventually. So we're moving on now. [02:02:13] Speaker A: Does that make my blood anyway? Well, you didn't. [02:02:17] Speaker B: You didn't throw up that much blood. So some of it was yours and a lot of it wasn't. [02:02:20] Speaker A: Oh, a lot of magic blood. [02:02:22] Speaker D: Okay. [02:02:22] Speaker B: You know that a lot of the way that the bloody one's magic is, it pulls the blood of those slain in the skyfires to where you were. [02:02:29] Speaker C: That was a good choice. [02:02:30] Speaker D: We're still gonna be able to get to the next plot point though, right? [02:02:32] Speaker B: What are you doing now? [02:02:33] Speaker D: Well, I don't know, because I think the guy that just told me, I [02:02:37] Speaker A: think we need to go to Craig. [02:02:38] Speaker C: And I say, that was awesome, Craig. Thank you for making that very thing go away. [02:02:43] Speaker B: Summoned from rose blood has disappeared. [02:02:46] Speaker A: I thank you. [02:02:47] Speaker C: I take a deep breath and I explain. I share what I saw. And I say the line from the [02:02:54] Speaker A: song is a prophecy in front of you that she. [02:02:58] Speaker C: I say, it's. It's not just a lyric. It's. It's prophecy. [02:03:04] Speaker A: I think we need to go up top. [02:03:06] Speaker C: We do. We needed. We need to. We need to get supplies and we need to talk to those. [02:03:10] Speaker A: Should we leave the others here to rest for now? [02:03:16] Speaker C: I think so. They can join us when they're ready. [02:03:20] Speaker B: Ammun takes a long look at Alondra. [02:03:24] Speaker D: She'll be okay. [02:03:25] Speaker B: He nods and he looks back and. And he says, she is dead. [02:03:31] Speaker D: Not for long. [02:03:32] Speaker A: I. I could only possibly. [02:03:34] Speaker D: I. [02:03:35] Speaker B: But note this, Craig. In all my time as a priest, I Learned this lesson. The great fallacy of those given gift of the divine is to believe that death becomes a door through which they can pass in and out. Ends are not wrong simply because they hurt. Perhaps we can retrieve her. But it is not wrong to lay sun to rest. The gods intended death too. It may be right to bury her soon. [02:04:20] Speaker D: Oh. [02:04:21] Speaker B: He looks back toward you all. [02:04:22] Speaker A: I could only. I could only say one row looks. [02:04:32] Speaker B: There's just a long beat. Then he nods. He looks back up at you again. A sort of determined fire in his eyes. He says, have you another diamond? [02:04:48] Speaker A: I'm not for resurrecting. We need to get some and some potions and other supplies. [02:05:02] Speaker B: I am archpriest of the goddess Selune. I can resurrect her if we retrieve these items. [02:05:09] Speaker C: Yeah. [02:05:10] Speaker B: From where would we procure them? [02:05:11] Speaker C: There's a city nearby. We can probably teleport or fly there. [02:05:16] Speaker A: I could teleport or. Boss. Katrius. Somewhere. [02:05:19] Speaker B: Where [02:05:22] Speaker A: DM do you think would. I mean where? [02:05:26] Speaker B: I think all sorts of things [02:05:29] Speaker A: with this going on. [02:05:33] Speaker B: The world's probably in a dark place. [02:05:36] Speaker A: Every bad chaos, right? [02:05:37] Speaker B: So things are probably not good. Especially the bigger you go. [02:05:40] Speaker A: Ro's first thought is, well, connoisseur, I need to see if she's alive. She might have some potions and probably has a store of diamonds somewhere that we could. I could go there. If she's still. I could go there. [02:06:07] Speaker B: A valuable strategy. [02:06:11] Speaker A: Craig. Can I. I don't want to do that. Can I have the sending stone? [02:06:17] Speaker D: It's not in my mouth anymore. [02:06:19] Speaker A: Okay. [02:06:20] Speaker C: Oh, man. [02:06:23] Speaker B: It was just the. The weight and the gravitas that she gave that line. It was. It felt powerful, which is crazy. So you get it from Greta or whoever has it. Okay. Yeah. [02:06:35] Speaker A: She holds it and she. There's a long moment that goes by because she's not wanting to make this call. And then she finally thinks of Kanjay and just says a quiet prayer to the maker and Ceylon that she's going to feel a connection. [02:06:57] Speaker B: And as you reach Ro, no connection reaches back for you. In this moment, you know Kanache is dead. [02:07:12] Speaker C: Whoa, whoa. [02:07:26] Speaker A: She thinks of. What's his name that worked at the opalescent home? [02:07:37] Speaker B: Morgram. [02:07:38] Speaker A: Morm. She thinks of Morgram because she knows that if he's. [02:07:43] Speaker C: If he. [02:07:44] Speaker A: He. If she's gone, then maybe, just maybe, he's there at the store. [02:07:54] Speaker B: You reach with the stone. You feel the connection. [02:08:02] Speaker D: Morgrim, [02:08:06] Speaker A: this is Rowena. I'm sure you know that he's. He's here. I Tried to. To call Kanajay. Are. [02:08:30] Speaker D: Are you there? [02:08:31] Speaker B: She's dead. [02:08:32] Speaker A: Yeah, I know. Yeah. [02:08:34] Speaker B: So our shop's closed. Our not taking nobody more. [02:08:47] Speaker A: We are. We. [02:08:54] Speaker B: I said she's dead. [02:08:56] Speaker D: Okay? [02:09:00] Speaker B: And then right as you're disconnecting, you feel a soft sob before you close? No, not at all. [02:09:17] Speaker A: What are you saying? Ro looks to Greta and Craig and just. She can't say. She just shakes her head. [02:09:36] Speaker D: Okay. [02:09:41] Speaker C: Greta goes and puts a hand on her shoulder. [02:09:45] Speaker D: It's not your fault. Who. Where else can we. [02:09:58] Speaker A: Where else should we. Where would there. [02:10:02] Speaker C: We could try Earthberg's. We can try the jeweler in Home Cove. Can I. Can I use this thing? Yeah. [02:10:12] Speaker A: I don't want to make any more calls today. [02:10:14] Speaker D: Okay. [02:10:14] Speaker C: Okay. Greta thinks of Urkburg and just kind of softly says, hello. [02:10:29] Speaker B: You feel a connection? Okay, can somebody remind me what Herbert sounded like? [02:10:35] Speaker C: It was real funky. [02:10:37] Speaker B: Kind of like that. It was kind of like that, right? [02:10:39] Speaker A: Yeah, I think it was. Was he the blind one? [02:10:42] Speaker B: Yeah, like a blind, blind mole. [02:10:44] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah. [02:10:45] Speaker D: Didn't he sound like the Godfather? [02:10:46] Speaker B: Yeah, I think so. You make the connection. [02:10:50] Speaker C: You make the connection. [02:10:56] Speaker B: You feel the connection. Greta. It's established. It has a living recipient. [02:11:01] Speaker C: Okay, I go. Hello? Are you okay? [02:11:10] Speaker B: Oh, thank you. Yeah, it's really. Yeah, it's really weird that you're the one checking in on me. And you just shopped here twice. You are a really loyal customer. [02:11:25] Speaker C: Well, I'm glad to hear from you. I'm glad that you made it. [02:11:30] Speaker B: You gotta run. [02:11:31] Speaker C: I know. [02:11:32] Speaker B: You gotta hide. [02:11:33] Speaker C: Are you open? [02:11:34] Speaker B: Oh, no. [02:11:35] Speaker C: Okay, wait. I need diamonds or my door down. [02:11:38] Speaker B: There were people in the streets. They flooded Magic Lane. [02:11:45] Speaker C: Okay. [02:11:46] Speaker B: Where's Belisa? It's not safe. [02:11:49] Speaker C: Okay. [02:11:49] Speaker B: Fires. But they can't get me in my shop. [02:11:54] Speaker C: Herbert, do you have diamonds? [02:11:55] Speaker B: I killed one of them. Oh, here is my shop. [02:12:00] Speaker C: Yeah, [02:12:05] Speaker B: You gotta hide, Quidda. [02:12:06] Speaker C: Okay, I'll hide. [02:12:07] Speaker B: You can come if you want, but I don't know what I've got anymore. [02:12:11] Speaker D: I don't know. [02:12:12] Speaker C: Okay. [02:12:12] Speaker B: They open. [02:12:13] Speaker C: Okay? [02:12:14] Speaker B: They open my boxes. I keep them closed. Yes, They opened my windows. They're not supposed to get open. You deserve to die. [02:12:36] Speaker C: Okay. Stay safe. Okay? Okay. Thank you. I don't know if he'll come, but you stay safe, okay? [02:12:48] Speaker B: I will watch a customer loyalty with the Focus. Thank you. [02:12:51] Speaker C: Okay. Thank you, thank you. We'll see and I'll disagree. [02:12:59] Speaker B: What is wrong with me? [02:13:03] Speaker C: I think of the jeweler in Home Cove. Oh, man. [02:13:11] Speaker B: Greta, could you give me. [02:13:14] Speaker C: Oh, I don't Know if I'd do that. Okay. I do do. [02:13:17] Speaker B: Could you give me. [02:13:18] Speaker C: You do. [02:13:21] Speaker B: That was loud. [02:13:23] Speaker C: I am so vigilant about not saying doo doo. [02:13:27] Speaker D: I do do. You say, I do do, and I did it. [02:13:29] Speaker C: Did you do I did it. [02:13:32] Speaker D: You did doo doo. [02:13:32] Speaker C: I did do it. [02:13:33] Speaker D: Did you do the doo doo? [02:13:34] Speaker C: I did do the doo doo. I did. [02:13:36] Speaker A: Dr. [02:13:38] Speaker B: So vigilant. [02:13:40] Speaker C: I really am. And I notice every time someone else says it, if you're around me and you say, oh, I do do that. I notice not. [02:13:49] Speaker B: I notice she sees you when you do do. [02:13:53] Speaker D: I notice see notice what you do do. [02:13:56] Speaker C: I know it bothers Noah so much every time I go anyway. I do do. [02:14:02] Speaker D: I do DMI cast. [02:14:04] Speaker B: Doo doo [02:14:07] Speaker C: doo doo. [02:14:08] Speaker B: I spell in Campaign two called it. But Greta, could you. This is gonna be retroactive. Check. Could you give me a retroactive? I'm not your enemy. Could you give me a retroactive? I'll say you can. You can make this. You make an archonic. Not everything should be. It's just appropriate for some things. I could have used investigation, too. [02:14:38] Speaker D: Jackie, how are you sitting so long without a backrest? [02:14:43] Speaker A: I don't know if you guys remember this, but the first, like, 40 episodes of our campaign that I did at my apartment when I was away from y', all, I sat on a tiny little half the size of that piano bench with no back. Why do you stream that way? [02:14:58] Speaker B: Because she's yokes, dude. I don't know if you're on the grind set, like jiggle. [02:15:01] Speaker A: Yeah, but I'm mobile, so I just. [02:15:06] Speaker B: That's what she does. Also, I want to go ahead and narrate the douchiest thing Abby's ever done, which is that she. She looked up at me just then, having put her the roll she got on her die and the modifier in her calculator. She just turned the screen toward me and she went like that. And it said 31. And Noah, be careful. I fear your fiance might be a douchebag. She might be a bro. Oh, that's so [02:15:34] Speaker A: created Argyle. [02:15:36] Speaker B: A danger none of us saw coming. [02:15:39] Speaker D: She is the sassy older sister. [02:15:43] Speaker B: Any who. [02:15:45] Speaker C: Sorry. [02:15:45] Speaker B: Dm to your recollection that jeweler. And in fact you recall not only was he not exactly. He knew what components were, but he wasn't exactly familiar with the intimacies and details of spellcasting. And with that retroactive arcana. Check. You remember that he did not. From the most minor of his. I should have made it an insider investigation. Check. Whatever. I made too many Things. Arcana checks. He just. He did not carry the awareness and understanding of a spellcaster. He didn't react. In his eyes, it should have been inside. Anyway, he didn't strike you as a spellcaster. And so it's odd then that you don't get an evil connection. [02:16:32] Speaker D: Whoa. [02:16:33] Speaker B: So he must be dead for a different reason. [02:16:37] Speaker C: Yeah. [02:16:38] Speaker D: Can we know? I'm so curious. I'm so curious. We will never find out anywhere else. [02:16:43] Speaker B: You can give me an inside check that's about reading people. Give me investigation. [02:16:48] Speaker C: Could be strategy. [02:16:50] Speaker B: I will take. I will take strategy or investigation. Let's take strategy or investigation. [02:16:54] Speaker C: Oh, me? [02:16:55] Speaker D: Yes. [02:16:56] Speaker C: Yeah. [02:16:56] Speaker B: You're the only one who knows this, right? Yes. [02:16:59] Speaker D: Jekyll. [02:17:00] Speaker A: I would like to do a remembrance check. Even though Ro, like can remember things, but I'd like to do a check in a minute. If the castle that we went to, the king's castle, that's not too far from here. If it had like a riches room with like jewels or stuff. [02:17:22] Speaker B: Yeah, you can do that if you like. [02:17:23] Speaker A: Okay. [02:17:24] Speaker B: You can give me a history check. [02:17:25] Speaker C: Damn. I would like to respectfully report that I got a 23 on my roll. [02:17:29] Speaker B: I appreciate that you did it humbly, you little punk. [02:17:31] Speaker A: You little punk. [02:17:33] Speaker B: Note taking turd. A23 you said? [02:17:37] Speaker C: Yes. A23. [02:17:38] Speaker B: Good for you. I'm. Hey, I'm really glad you're so statted out. I'm glad you got to have that power fantasy and wishful self. No, seriously. Characters are about power fantasies. And those look different for some people. Some people it's about, look at this awesome thing I can do with my sword. And for other people to like, look at how I know everything. People have different power fantasies. Hold on to it. We'll come to it in just a second. Yeah, his shop probably got looted. I mean, the world probably didn't just suddenly become like the Purge. You know, people have minds and thoughts, but there has to be mass panic. There has to be terror communities, especially large ones that are formed of many smaller, diverse, more sub communities are probably dissolving at certain levels. And were there nefarious folks in places, there's probably been no more brighter time to shine. Big cities are probably not awesome right now. [02:18:31] Speaker A: Humans will always human. Do I get advantage since I have keen mind? [02:18:41] Speaker C: Her mind is pretty keen. [02:18:42] Speaker D: It is pretty keen. [02:18:44] Speaker B: Yeah. And I'm not making that a precedent. [02:18:48] Speaker A: Well, that did not. [02:18:49] Speaker B: I may not do that again in the future. [02:18:50] Speaker A: That didn't help me because I rolled a two the second time, so. Okay, so the. The Real one I got is a 13. So not wonderful, but not horrible. But not. [02:19:03] Speaker B: You recall being led through many chambers, and you. You definitely know. Yes, there was stored wealth somewhere, but it's. That's like a year and a half ago now, and it's a little, like. It's a little fuzzy in your memory. You also get the feeling that your blood boiling in your head yesterday scrambled the brain noggin a little bit. And you're like, typically, I feel like I could remember that, but right now, everything's just a little fuzzy. [02:19:29] Speaker A: Okay, Greta, I know. [02:19:30] Speaker D: What a cop out. [02:19:31] Speaker A: Greta. I know that I said I wasn't gonna make any calls. [02:19:34] Speaker B: Go ahead, dude. It's not the apocalypse or anything. [02:19:36] Speaker A: And I know I've joked about doing this for a long time, but. Greta, can I call McKee? [02:19:45] Speaker C: Yeah. I also think we. Another person I think it might be smart to reach out to is Bella. Andra. [02:19:54] Speaker A: She may have a stash. [02:19:55] Speaker C: Yeah, she may have a stash. [02:19:56] Speaker A: I just think that King Ewan may have. If he has a room full of riches. [02:20:00] Speaker C: That's true. [02:20:00] Speaker A: We could give us the diamonds. I don't know. [02:20:05] Speaker C: Do you want to call the king first? [02:20:06] Speaker A: Yeah, let me. I mean, I don't even know if he's alive. [02:20:08] Speaker C: And I give it to her. [02:20:09] Speaker A: I mean, he might have died before this. [02:20:11] Speaker C: And then I spit it out. I'm kidding. I don't do that. [02:20:15] Speaker A: And she thinks about all the time. She thought about calling this man, and now she doesn't even care. Then she's calling him for a different reason. [02:20:21] Speaker B: And she thinks so setting aside his status for the knowledge. Anyway, you feel a connection. He's very much alive. And you feel the mental pathway to speak. [02:20:43] Speaker A: It's been quite a while. This is Rowena. Grain bottle. I have a really weird request and. Hi. [02:20:58] Speaker B: I recall you. Yes. [02:21:04] Speaker A: Are you. I guess you've probably seen outside. [02:21:12] Speaker B: Yes. Yeah, we received a panicked call from Xavian. [02:21:19] Speaker A: Yeah, [02:21:22] Speaker B: we were seeking refuge underground. Are either Cesspos or Edmund coming back anytime soon? [02:21:33] Speaker A: Oh, they were with you. [02:21:35] Speaker B: Frozen. [02:21:36] Speaker A: Okay. They're here with us right now. [02:21:40] Speaker B: Are they all right? [02:21:42] Speaker A: Yeah. I mean, as. As good as we can be right now. We. [02:21:47] Speaker B: What's happening? No, no, you've probably got. You probably have pressed time of. How may I be served? [02:21:58] Speaker A: Just stay underground. [02:22:00] Speaker B: We'll stay behind. [02:22:02] Speaker A: I have a weird request. I know you're just with your, I guess, status or connect. Was there. Do you have a store of riches? [02:22:20] Speaker C: Yes. [02:22:21] Speaker B: Yes. [02:22:22] Speaker A: We need to heal and bring back some people. We need diamonds. [02:22:33] Speaker B: Certainly, yes. Accessing wealth to procure those services must be difficult. Now, there is a way. [02:22:44] Speaker A: We used up all of ours. [02:22:47] Speaker B: All right. The issue that would face you is that the reserve is held deep beneath the palace. I think there's a chance you might have even passed it on your way out, as Savina reminded me that you moved through that passage as you should not have done. But what are under the bridge now. But this would be entirely under the empire's control, and even that has dissolved. So I have not been in my castle for. Within the palace for months now. I don't know what's come of any of it. [02:23:25] Speaker A: Okay, if I. So you. You said I. I passed it. We passed it. I. I could get in there magically speaking. Are there guards inside of the room? [02:23:42] Speaker B: I have no idea what's. What's transpired with it in the past. [02:23:46] Speaker A: Okay. [02:23:47] Speaker B: Five months. [02:23:47] Speaker A: Okay. Understood. I. Okay. Thank you. Tell your sister hi. And please just stay. Stay safe. [02:24:00] Speaker B: Safe. [02:24:00] Speaker A: And I'll tell Thespis and I've been coming. [02:24:04] Speaker B: Thank you. [02:24:05] Speaker C: Okay. [02:24:08] Speaker B: Connection servers. [02:24:13] Speaker A: Do you guys think I. I mean, we could. [02:24:17] Speaker D: I think, try. [02:24:18] Speaker C: It would take time. [02:24:20] Speaker A: I mean, I could. I could just. I could attempt to teleport me and a couple others in there. [02:24:27] Speaker D: It would have to be really, really quick. [02:24:30] Speaker A: Well, yeah. [02:24:32] Speaker D: And even then, I think that, like, we have only so much time. [02:24:38] Speaker A: I know, but I think it's our best bet. I mean, the empire. The empire fell. What would they have done with the riches? [02:24:45] Speaker D: We should ask Bell Andra. Yeah. [02:24:49] Speaker A: Yeah. Oh, hey, Zach. Dance. We want you to do. Did you fart? [02:24:57] Speaker B: Is that right? He said farts are real. [02:24:59] Speaker C: Oh. [02:24:59] Speaker A: I thought he was just upset that he's having to do all these characters. [02:25:02] Speaker D: Dude, what did you eat? [02:25:05] Speaker B: Infirmity. Whoa. [02:25:08] Speaker A: Drink away. Oh. [02:25:11] Speaker B: Do you make a call from Alejandro? [02:25:13] Speaker A: Woo. [02:25:13] Speaker B: It's like a sniffing salt. I'm awake. I came out of my own body. That's crazy. [02:25:19] Speaker A: That's what it feels like. [02:25:20] Speaker B: Foreign material. [02:25:22] Speaker A: That smell is what it feels like to call Bella Andre. [02:25:24] Speaker B: Somebody called me carbon12 because that was some radioactive waste. [02:25:28] Speaker D: Can't smell anything. [02:25:29] Speaker B: That's a joke. Carbon 12 is its natural. Anyway, do you make a connection with. [02:25:33] Speaker A: Oh, I don't. I hand that stone back to Greta. [02:25:36] Speaker C: Okay. [02:25:38] Speaker B: Damn. [02:25:38] Speaker C: I would like to do a quick arcana check to see if I think of an object. Like if I think of a diamond and fly past a place that has diamonds would locate object work. [02:25:53] Speaker B: Or do I have a thousand feet of you. [02:25:55] Speaker C: Specific object? [02:25:56] Speaker B: No, you could think of a diamond. If it's within a thousand feet of you. [02:25:59] Speaker C: Okay, that's helpful. I relay this to Ro. That I have this ability. I say, hey, you know what I could do? [02:26:05] Speaker A: What if I. [02:26:06] Speaker B: What if I. I like that you were handed the stone and you were like, no. Any other option first? [02:26:11] Speaker A: What if I turn down you into, like, a bird? So you were more inconspicuous guys, I. And you flew over the castle and tried to detect. Oh, no, never mind. [02:26:23] Speaker D: We have arcane eye. [02:26:24] Speaker C: What's that? [02:26:25] Speaker D: It's an eyeball that can see with. It hovers in the air for a duration of time. And I received the mental image of the place. [02:26:37] Speaker B: What's the range on arcanine? [02:26:38] Speaker D: 30ft. [02:26:42] Speaker B: Anyways, the idea behind arcane eye is you boop it somewhere, and then you leave. And you can be like, I can still see even though I left. It's not like I'll go put it across the world. [02:26:51] Speaker A: Can I do a Kafkin check? [02:26:54] Speaker B: Perception check? [02:26:55] Speaker A: A Kefkin check because of my. Or a history check of my knowledge of Kefkins because I have proficiency in that of Kefkan. Knowledge about. If, like, their politics. [02:27:07] Speaker B: You don't have proficiency for, like, the policies socially of the empire. What is your question? [02:27:12] Speaker A: Yeah, my question is because there are things. [02:27:14] Speaker B: Every time they took over. [02:27:16] Speaker A: Every time they took over, and all was riches on the top of their list. Like, if they went into a castle, would they take all the riches out and move them somewhere? [02:27:23] Speaker B: You are. Okay, all right. Okay. You are aware that they. You are aware that they certainly extracted wealth at times, but that you could if you wanted. But did you move the riches? Yo, you stupid. Hey, is your fridge running? You are aware that. That the Empire was very interested in wealth extraction, but that the general way that they accomplished this was by hijacking the economy of the place that they conquered. Not necessarily. Like, we took all your money. Sucks for you. [02:27:57] Speaker A: Because they're into their harbor. [02:28:02] Speaker B: So, Greta, do you use that stone or what's up with that? Because I'm not getting anything out of this one. [02:28:07] Speaker C: First, I step away a couple feet, and I want to call Tesha. [02:28:11] Speaker B: Okay. [02:28:12] Speaker C: And I'm just gonna say, hi, this is Greta. Just checking up on you. [02:28:17] Speaker B: The druid from homecoming. [02:28:18] Speaker C: Yeah, our turtle friend. [02:28:20] Speaker B: As you grip the stone and you think of her, you feel no connection. [02:28:24] Speaker D: No, no. [02:28:26] Speaker C: Oh, that's brutal. Okay, I take a deep breath and I call Bella. Andra. [02:28:37] Speaker B: You grip the stone and you think of that odious figure and you feel a connection. [02:28:44] Speaker A: Of course. [02:28:45] Speaker C: Good, good, good. [02:28:45] Speaker B: I rolled for all of these. [02:28:47] Speaker C: I'm sorry. [02:28:47] Speaker B: Of course I rolled a D20 for all of these. [02:28:50] Speaker A: Of course she's. I'm sorry. That's really crass of me, but she's there and Kanisha's not. [02:28:57] Speaker C: Yeah. I say, hi, this is Greta. How are you doing? [02:29:03] Speaker B: Okay. I'm. I'm not critiquing. I'm asking, is it in that intonation? It's fine if it is. It's not a criticism, just a clarification. [02:29:10] Speaker C: No, I think it's just a deep. She takes a deep breath. She goes, hi. I can't change it, man. She goes, hi. This is. This is. Or she goes, this is Greta. How are you doing? [02:29:27] Speaker B: You hear a voice? Greta. Greta. The sky's on. [02:29:42] Speaker C: Yeah. [02:29:42] Speaker B: Right. Once. Where are you? Are you all right? [02:29:47] Speaker C: Yes, we're all right. Where are you? [02:29:51] Speaker B: I'm in my tower. [02:29:52] Speaker C: Okay, good. [02:29:53] Speaker B: I don't. I don't. [02:29:55] Speaker C: Hey, Lock the doors. People are. [02:29:57] Speaker B: Oh, my tower is sealed. [02:29:59] Speaker C: Okay, good. [02:30:00] Speaker B: My staff. [02:30:01] Speaker C: Good. I figured you're. Yeah. [02:30:03] Speaker B: The safe inside. What's happened? What happened? The Empire fell apart a short time ago. [02:30:13] Speaker C: Yes. [02:30:13] Speaker B: And now this. [02:30:14] Speaker C: Yes. [02:30:15] Speaker B: Hey, [02:30:17] Speaker C: it's. We're working on it. We're. [02:30:19] Speaker B: You're working on it? [02:30:20] Speaker C: I know. [02:30:21] Speaker B: We're doing it. What does that mean? [02:30:28] Speaker C: So much is changing, and we're doing our best to stop it, and I. [02:30:31] Speaker B: What do you mean? [02:30:33] Speaker C: I want to ask to help. We're trying to fight, but we need your help. [02:30:36] Speaker B: I fight what. What's happening? [02:30:39] Speaker C: An evil force entered the world. And you saw it. I'm sure you felt it. [02:30:45] Speaker B: I did. [02:30:46] Speaker D: It was. [02:30:48] Speaker C: I know. I'm glad that you survived. I don't know what it is. I don't know what it is, but we're. Do you have any. Any. Any diamonds? We need to heal our allies so that we can keep fighting. [02:31:03] Speaker B: I do. [02:31:05] Speaker C: Okay. [02:31:08] Speaker B: Please. All right. [02:31:18] Speaker D: It's gonna be okay. [02:31:19] Speaker B: Come to my tower, okay? [02:31:20] Speaker C: We'll be right back. [02:31:21] Speaker B: Come to my tower with your allies. We're safe here, okay? I will provide you whatever you want. [02:31:28] Speaker C: We'll be right there. [02:31:29] Speaker B: Come swiftly. [02:31:30] Speaker C: Okay. We'll see you soon. And I disconnect. [02:31:35] Speaker D: That was actually really healing to. It was actually really. [02:31:39] Speaker C: Well. I turn to Ro and I say, she's a mess. Did you. [02:31:44] Speaker A: Wait. [02:31:44] Speaker C: Can they hear my side? [02:31:48] Speaker B: A voice cop said back in the day. Goes. Never mind. [02:31:55] Speaker C: I meant to ask. Can they hear. [02:31:58] Speaker B: They can hear what you say. [02:31:59] Speaker C: Okay. I say. [02:32:00] Speaker B: I see you speak, but the voice comes back to you and you're Covered. [02:32:03] Speaker C: I say she's a mess. Okay. But she has diamonds. She's willing to help. I want to. Should we take our allies there? It sounds like her tower is very safe. I. [02:32:16] Speaker D: So she thinks. [02:32:17] Speaker A: I think we. I think we stay here. [02:32:20] Speaker C: Yeah. [02:32:20] Speaker A: I think you and I. I think we're safer. A couple of us go, we get the diamonds, and we come back. I. I have the ability now to. To get us back. Like, I think back and forth. [02:32:30] Speaker C: I think we're safer here than. Yeah, we are in a city, and [02:32:33] Speaker A: I don't think we can move everyone. [02:32:35] Speaker C: Okay. I have a question. [02:32:36] Speaker A: We could. I'm so sorry. [02:32:38] Speaker B: Use your voice. Get in there. [02:32:39] Speaker C: Go cray. Go cray. [02:32:40] Speaker D: How powerful of a spellcaster is she? [02:32:42] Speaker A: Bella. Andra. [02:32:45] Speaker D: I don't know much about magic. [02:32:48] Speaker B: You're not some inept novice at it anymore. You recall her being quite powerful. You recall her being one of the more powerful, if not the most powerful wizard in Home Cove. [02:33:01] Speaker A: Well, not as powerful as Connor Shay. [02:33:04] Speaker B: I mean, you know, she was in that realm. [02:33:05] Speaker C: She's. But I. She. She's out of the loop, I think. [02:33:09] Speaker A: Yeah. She doesn't have friends. [02:33:11] Speaker D: Filler in. I. I just say open up the opportunity if she wants to come fight. Every. Every. [02:33:21] Speaker C: Option. [02:33:22] Speaker A: Yeah. [02:33:22] Speaker C: Okay. The question I want to ask before she asks us. [02:33:26] Speaker A: We could take. We could take. And Ro Knows these names right off the bat, but. Sarah and Paulo. [02:33:34] Speaker B: Paolo. Yes. Sarah and Paolo. [02:33:36] Speaker A: I think we could take Sarah and Paulo and leave them there with her. [02:33:39] Speaker C: Are they awake? Dm. [02:33:42] Speaker B: Paolo's not up. You get the feeling he could be awoken. And Sarah's up, but just real quiet. [02:33:48] Speaker C: Okay. I look at her to see what she thinks of this. [02:33:52] Speaker B: She's been listening, and she just, like. She meets your eyes with a very keen and rapid recognition. [02:34:00] Speaker C: This is the. The Sandorian. [02:34:02] Speaker B: And she just nods and says. That sounds better than any of this. [02:34:07] Speaker C: Okay. [02:34:07] Speaker B: Okay. [02:34:08] Speaker C: Okay. [02:34:08] Speaker B: Tower Sounds good. [02:34:09] Speaker C: Will you ask. Will you ask Paolo? [02:34:11] Speaker A: Yeah. [02:34:14] Speaker B: I don't know the guy, but fine. She has a room, and she just kind of shoves him with a hand, and he. There's this terrible noise as he goes, and there was blood trapped in his nose. And when she pushes him, he startles awake, and he. And he coughs something up on his mouth, and he. Oh. And he, like, pushes himself up and he goes. Good morning. [02:34:39] Speaker A: Good morning. [02:34:40] Speaker C: We're gonna. [02:34:41] Speaker A: Are. We're gonna take you somewhere better than here. [02:34:46] Speaker B: Okay. [02:34:47] Speaker A: Okay. [02:34:49] Speaker D: So. [02:34:49] Speaker B: Walks to his feet. [02:34:54] Speaker A: I want to do this. [02:34:55] Speaker D: I want to open my red. [02:34:57] Speaker B: You can't Open it. [02:34:58] Speaker C: Open it on the mic. [02:34:59] Speaker B: Do you forget this tradition? Open it online. Oh, my goodness. Yeah. [02:35:12] Speaker A: What? [02:35:16] Speaker B: Why would you do that? We love the crisp crack. [02:35:20] Speaker A: That upset me. [02:35:21] Speaker B: That was worse than not doing it. Why did you do that? You didn't. You didn't just go. You didn't just go. [02:35:30] Speaker C: You went. [02:35:33] Speaker A: I think that was sacrilegious. [02:35:37] Speaker B: That sounded. That sounded like the Tin man having a hernia. That sounded like the Tin man experiencing arthritis. That was the sound of Iron man passing a kidney stone. Why did you do that so slowly? [02:35:52] Speaker A: Actually, I think that would be, like. I literally knew it. I think that would be the sound of Ro opening a Red Bull with her six string. [02:36:00] Speaker C: That's true. [02:36:03] Speaker D: I couldn't. [02:36:04] Speaker B: I've heard you open a can before. [02:36:06] Speaker A: Okay. [02:36:06] Speaker D: Anyway, this was difficult. [02:36:10] Speaker A: Ro says, I. I want to do this as quickly as possible and get back here because I think we need to try things. So I think I can get us. I can literally, if we needed to go there and back. So I say we. We drop them off, get the diamonds, fill in Bella, Andre with it as much possible, and then get out. [02:36:31] Speaker C: I don't. Do you think she needs to know? It will. [02:36:34] Speaker A: We'll let her decide how much she wants to know, but. [02:36:37] Speaker C: Okay. [02:36:37] Speaker D: I mean, it's happening. There's no hiding. [02:36:39] Speaker A: I mean, like, it needs to be quick. I don't feel right not being back here, so. [02:36:45] Speaker D: Please offer. [02:36:45] Speaker A: I say we go right now. Craig. Greta, Are you going with me? [02:36:50] Speaker C: Yeah. [02:36:51] Speaker A: Okay. [02:36:52] Speaker C: Okay. Okay. [02:36:54] Speaker B: By the throat. It doesn't feel like anything. Because she has a sixth string. [02:36:58] Speaker C: Did I say that? [02:36:59] Speaker D: Wait. I call it nom. You're in charge. [02:37:01] Speaker B: All right. She just. We should look, see you with frightened eyes. And goes. [02:37:05] Speaker C: I break the circle. [02:37:07] Speaker D: I'm joking. I'm sorry. [02:37:08] Speaker A: I. [02:37:09] Speaker C: Okay. [02:37:09] Speaker D: I can't. I don't know how to connect with you. [02:37:11] Speaker C: I'm sorry. [02:37:13] Speaker B: And I'm like, okay. [02:37:15] Speaker A: I lean over to Thespis. [02:37:17] Speaker B: Okay. And, like, his eyes are fluttering. There's been plenty of talking. He's, like, coming, awakening. [02:37:23] Speaker D: He's like, yes, my love. [02:37:27] Speaker B: Ruin this. [02:37:29] Speaker A: I say, we're gonna. We're gonna be right back. [02:37:34] Speaker B: Just. [02:37:36] Speaker A: Micah. Micah, just. [02:37:38] Speaker B: Just. Jackie, focus, or they will take every scene you have with him. Go ahead. [02:37:43] Speaker A: She says, I will be right back. We will be right back. [02:37:46] Speaker B: Okay. Wait, where are you going? [02:37:48] Speaker C: We're. [02:37:48] Speaker A: We're gonna go get some diamonds. [02:37:50] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, that's a good idea. [02:37:52] Speaker A: But we will watch over things within a few. Few. Like a few hours, top. [02:37:56] Speaker D: Sure. [02:37:58] Speaker A: Stay alive. [02:37:59] Speaker B: No, I'm awake. He, like, hefts the mace and he catches it out of the air, and he goes, I'm on it. [02:38:06] Speaker A: I'm. [02:38:06] Speaker B: I'm watching things. [02:38:07] Speaker A: Okay, Just stay alive. Okay? [02:38:10] Speaker B: I got you. [02:38:11] Speaker A: We'll be back. [02:38:12] Speaker C: Okay. [02:38:12] Speaker B: Ev Moon sort of shuffles to his feet, and he goes, oh, no. He, like, gets, like, himself up just enough to sit on the crate, and he goes, are you all healing her now or looking for diamonds? Coming back. [02:38:25] Speaker C: Looking for diamonds and coming back, Getting [02:38:27] Speaker A: diamonds and coming back. [02:38:28] Speaker B: He, like, falls back on the ground and goes, I'll stay here. [02:38:32] Speaker A: Yeah. Oh, thespace. [02:38:35] Speaker B: He nods, and he's here. [02:38:40] Speaker A: No, I'm just thinking. Do we Spagoober has a sending stone if you need to call a. [02:38:46] Speaker B: Sure. Understood. [02:38:47] Speaker A: Okay. [02:38:49] Speaker D: What? [02:38:50] Speaker A: And she grabs. She grabs the four people that she's taking with her, and she thinks of the tower. She thinks of the teleportation circle in the tower that Boz had given her big details on. Four people are Greta, Craig, Sarah, and Paulo. [02:39:06] Speaker B: That's right. You've seen the tower, right? [02:39:09] Speaker A: I've been in the tower. [02:39:11] Speaker B: But you haven't seen the circle. Is it on your list? [02:39:15] Speaker A: Yes. Then you don't. [02:39:17] Speaker B: There's no check. [02:39:18] Speaker A: Oh, really? [02:39:20] Speaker D: She was so competitive. [02:39:21] Speaker A: Well, I didn't see it, but boss told me about it. Okay. [02:39:24] Speaker B: Oh, well, then never mind. There's definitely a check. Did you see it or didn't you? [02:39:27] Speaker A: I never saw it, but boss told me, and I drew. But it's gonna be a good one, right? [02:39:35] Speaker C: She drew a. Whatever. [02:39:37] Speaker A: I drew it, told me. [02:39:39] Speaker B: How did you drop it Is on your list. [02:39:42] Speaker D: Have you been on the. In the tower? [02:39:44] Speaker A: I've been in the tower. [02:39:45] Speaker B: No, no. We're talking about two different things. There's a teleportation circle in the tower, and if she knows the circle, they're automatically no fake. [02:39:51] Speaker A: Okay, but I've been in the tower. [02:39:54] Speaker B: Right. And that's not the question. [02:39:56] Speaker A: I didn't see. [02:39:57] Speaker B: How did you draw the circle? [02:39:58] Speaker A: Because Boz described it to me in clear detail. Yes. [02:40:02] Speaker B: Okay. And you made a drawing? [02:40:03] Speaker A: Yes. [02:40:04] Speaker B: Oh, all right. Okay, then if you know the cycle, you know the soy circumflex, pibidy poppity piss. [02:40:10] Speaker A: So no checky, check, check. [02:40:11] Speaker B: No, if you know the circle, you know the circle, and I have to [02:40:16] Speaker A: roll between a 1 and 100. [02:40:18] Speaker C: No, there's no check if you know the circle. [02:40:22] Speaker B: Let me see if you can hear this. Wait, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on. Let me see if you can hear this. Hold on. Silence. That was an audible head. [02:40:32] Speaker D: That was the sound of Zach hitting. [02:40:35] Speaker A: So anyway, Zach just hit. [02:40:37] Speaker D: Jackie, [02:40:40] Speaker B: see if you can hear this. Let's start. It's just assault on the mic. Anyway, so Ro. Ro takes the hands of compatriots and hands bone shoulders and you play your loop. Well, I guess actually they just near you and you play your loop. And as. As the rhythm shocks outward and everyone is. [02:41:01] Speaker A: I'm so sorry. [02:41:03] Speaker B: We tried so hard. As everyone is pulled into thermic intensity, that is where we will end. Episode 175. Oh, my gosh. [02:41:15] Speaker D: I thought she was chanting. I thought she was just. [02:41:25] Speaker B: Yeah, okay, so that's the end of. Okay, Abby's leaving now. That's the end of the episode. Listener. She ran down the hallway. It's weird to be in person. Life. Life is an incredible adventure. You're a very important part of it. We will see you next time, Skippy Data.
